no i know thats not what i mean
ill send a ss in about an hour
the small hadanite rocks spawn inside rocks that are just part of the lay out
there is issues with selecting the mineable rock but it’s not impossible, just tedious.
I don’t know how to explain it.
Rocks are weirdly and abnormally annoying to select and mine right now.
me neither i will send a screen shot in an hour or so
just imagine it as the rocks spawning inside the rock that this guy is standing on
those are normal rocks for vessels
eh i can’t tell on size actually
tiny rocks like dis
ill send a ss later im not a noob i understand how it works i just cant explain it right with out screen shots
Is 9T not happening anymore? I haven't seen one happen in a while and my ships full of med supplies.
Might be that they want to fix the ship claim bug before they start another round of them?
my speculation
which ship should i use for illegal trading?
So is Roc mining any different besides having to fly low to get the rocks to show up on scans?
As someone who has never had luck with cargo, is this a viable route?
or would this be a sit and wait till the heat death of the universe, route
honestly i wouldnt use routes since people prob use the same one. imo i would just go to random outposts and buy there and sell at a city tdd
I would say MSR since it's fast and is well armoured and can escpae pretty fast due to this.
In long term yes, but at the moment I wouldn't do illegal with more than an Avenger Titans since it's realllly hard to sell
Since you will be buying small quantities when working with contraband, any ship will do. The cargo variant of the 100 and 300 Origin ships are great for this.
But be aware that Trade is broken
is reclamation & disposal Orinth still buying large amount of vice?
I could sell a FL full of vice some patches ago
nop
those days are LONG gone, and it would take you about a month to clear out a cutty or RL of vice
Also u may consider the Ferron Exchange because it gives the same output, only costs twice of Dinyx but triples speed.
Of course, if you are good with the cost and profit margin, then by all means.
You can also try fluorine: it's kind of bad, but it should be well-supplied: https://sc-trade.tools/trade-routes?q=%257B%2522ship%2522:%2522C2%2520Hercules%2522,%2522investment%2522:1000000,%2522depositType%2522:%2522Ground%2520vehicle%2522,%2522showDetails%2522:true,%2522minQuantityPerMinute%2522:50000%257D
didn't Titanium from Arial's outpost also spawn in full stock?
Yes, Titanium is well stocked, but it doesn't handle the load of the new-patch traders very well, since those outposts sell Laranite too 🙂
Also, there's 8x more fluorine than Titanium. It literally is the best stocked commodity there is.
Ah! Thanks for the info, good to know
that 40k per trip is worth more than the 3 hours trying to find deposits for my ROC = 49K
quick question for anyone that knows, if i load up a MOLE to the full 96 SCU and refine it and then try and put it in my cutty black will it make the other 40 or so SCU disappear cause the cutty cant fit it, or will the extra ore stay for me to come back and get?
You won't be able to collect it
so ill lose the extra?
You won't be able to collect the order at all
The black can only hold 46 SCU so don't go over the in the mole till you can buy a bigger ship
I've never really under stood the refining. i feel you should have one work load that you add to and pay for the amount you add then you can take as much refined good as you want
Always refine but if you're refining a full mole worth of ore, you're gonna need a ship with enough cargo space to transport that amount. So if a Mole is 96 SCU, you could rent out a Constellation Andromeda that also has 96 SCU. But you should really save up for something with bigger cargo space like a Drake Caterpillar, Crusader C2 Hercules, or if you're in a mighty rush the Freelancer MAX. (id ignore the freelancer and keep saving for a M2 though)
Overall the cutty black of yours is too small so you wont be able to send that refinery order to it. It will just stay in the refinery, waiting to be collected. It just wont let you send it to a ship that doesn't have the space for it.
Where is the best spot to sell Quantanium refined on Cru-L1?
Area 18
All cities buy the same price (88 auec)"
But Area 18 got the highest stock to buy
Sold a fulled M2 there
In doubt: the "Best buyer" tool is there for you
https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer?q=%257B%2522itemName%2522:%2522Quantainium%2522,%2522itemQuantity%2522:1,%2522showDetails%2522:true%257D
Hello, I have a probably stupid question, but once I've fractured a rock how do I get the pieces into the ROC's inventory? I've been trying to google but I haven't been able to find anything
if youre in mining mode right click to switch to the collection beam
and just click to activiate it and move it over the rocks
Thank you
can you not mine with the ROC on daymar anymore?
we can only find the big chunky rocks that the mole would mine
Sometimes RNG is accursed. I was actually just about to ask which moon you were mining on. I believe CIG mentioned something to the effect of moons with more extreme temperatures having better RNG, but I'd be hard-pressed to easily find the source.
@wind brook ROC mining is broken af right now, you cant scan for rocks unless you are within 1km of them
ya we can literally only find big boulders that the ROC cant mmine
are we doing something wrong?
what moon should i be on?
im on daymar now @spiral olive @regal pier
There would be rocks there. You need to be within 1km of the surface (and the rocks) to scan any rocks, so theres a small chance of you actually finding any
What are you flying?
Ah good. I think I recall someone saying Aberdeen and Arial are good spots but may also more PvPers - I haven't checked if that's accurate though.
where do i sell this stuff
a quant load refined is abour 260k...
also the more load/tasks is on a refinery, the more expensive it gets to place new tasks.
i usually mined in the AaronHalo just below CRU-L3, refined at HUR-L2 and sold at Lorville.
sometimes i mined in the AaronHalo near Crusader
Thanks! :D
Thank you! :D Oh damn a full M2 of Quant? That is very brave
wow scanning and mining both by the roc and ship is shit right now.. gave it a fair crack but meh - more asteroids now scan but are un mineable - the scanner is clunky and not intuitive - the ground ROC asteroids are rare and buggy like 18 months ago... is this a tactic to drive us toward the event and not what we actually like doing in the platform? what a shame...
Ooh, is quant back up to 88? In 3.13 I was getting closer to 81 per unit because of the suppressed demand
if anyone needs help with ship mining shoot me a dm. I've made over a billion mining quant in the last 10 months
jesus
im planning on renting a prospector to go mining, what can i mine with the base attachment
Just wanted a reason to use it ^^
Nah you are right, doubles check and it wasnt precisly 88
Not much for it to be worth. Better off either grinding for one or renting a roc and cutty
is just buying it worth it?
i was planning on melting my taurus cause its not too useful rn
As the topic says, what do you think are the issues with trading right now?
List them like this:
- Low stock on most items - solution(magiclaly increase stock on backend or entice/force stock to be replenished by players mining)
- Supply and demand issues - Solution(use the amount of times a player buys items/ships claiming etc to increase demand for materials used to build and supply these items, If there is a massive xenothreat event happening where players are engaging more in space combat, then the demand for restock of missiles, ammo etc yields for more supply needed for titanum, gold etc)
the problem i have is that its not enough reward for the risk and in general
every time i try trading i end up 30king or some other issue happens to where i cant finish a trade, and its also not enough pay considering how much you put into it
Since 3.14, hur-l3 has become even more dangerous, and the distribution of ores seems to have decreased.
I've been attacked by NPC pirates 3 times in one day while looking for Quantanium…
What do you guys think?
Is there a trick to new scannings ROC mining? I remember when we had the big cubes we could go for smaller ones but now its just flying in and checking if the mark is small or big rocks?
When you are scanning, there will be a cube that suddenly reacts to the pin when it gets close (within about 2km).
There is a very high probability that these are rocks for ROC.
They are smaller than other rocks, so you can't squeak by them from a distance.
So ones that suddenly show up with less than 2k remaining is ROCs, gotcha
yes, good luck
cargo refactor will fix the 30k
@merry dome Trade is buggered, dont bother with it unless you have a big ship. a c2 might net you 50k or something
yeah, kind of why i don’t rn. i got the taurus so i could have the andromeda as a loaner so now i’m probably gonna melt it
when it’s fixed in the refactor i may get a cargo ship again tho
If the offer is still up 70 Dollars will get you an MSR as an upgrade.
Also tell me about it, I have a Hull-D, so my Loaners are both Cargo Whales
That's 3.13 patch results, it is totally different for 3.14 because the ROC deposits do not return a ping unless you are withing 1000 meters (1km). I took 3 hours the other day and I found three deposits. It's totally broken right now.
Oh, no wonder I couldn't find them...
In addition, I saw that some deposits spawned in the same place as unmineable rocks
Greetings everyone,
About mining, scan give me 1004,33% of Quantanium on a rock. With the scan of the mining laser it show only 5,91% of quantainium.
I don't understand the maths ^^
It's nothing to do with maths, it's bugged
Thanks 🤣
So the good one is the mining laser scan?
Is mining worth it tho
It's a basis point. 10000%→100%
For new players
Depends of what you love and what ship you have 😉
No here 1000% -> 5%
I got the aurora
And I like mining if that what u mean
With that ship is it worth it
With what ship and how much did it pay
You need a Prospector. You can rent one but not change is loadout. Buy one for 2M or be part of à Mole crew 😉
@vocal lava https://youtu.be/al97C_VdFUE
Let me show you how to make money fast in this Star Citizen 3.14 Prospector mining guide! I will show you my two favorite places to do prospector mining in 3.14 Star Citizen! You will certainly know how to make money fast in Star Citizen! With this amazing prospector mining guide.
🛑 Decide to BUY Star Citizen today! Use code STAR-RV3B-4SY4 to r...
Mining is great to win aUEC but you need a mining ship 😉
You can also rent a Cutlass ans a Roc.
20k/day i guess
And, welcome on the mining Brotherhood @vocal lava 🤣
What's the best mineral to mine with a ROC?
Hadronite
Hadanite
20k a day irl??
Or Ingame day cause if irl day I’ll destroy monitors instead cause that 20k per 5-7 minutes
morning new player here looking for suggestions on using a rental prospector
24h IRL 😉
ROC mining is broken in this patch, or rather the PING will not find deposits unless you are right next to it. Less than 1km
awww
With the Rental you will be limited because the laserhead that is on the rental is close to worthless and can not be changed out. However, you can mine low end ore and you can sell it raw
any good suggestions on spots to mine then?
yeah it feels like the rental is a waste of time
Than I’m doing the 20k per 5 minutes
You can rent it at Loreville spaceport. But as a rented ship, you can't change the loadout.
The video linked about by Hawkes is an excellent guide for mining with Prospector (non-rental)
i know i just dont have the money for that yet lol'
Ok
Imma just stick with my 20k every 5-10 minutes method so every hour I can get around 120k-240k
Nice, did you try bounty hunting mission ?
No they only pay 1k more and are more risky
Best missions paid 90.000k 😉 You can rent a Constellation Andromeda for it.
You can do some bounty mission to make enouth money for buying your on Prospector.
heads up part of the platform is missing if you are going to go look at the hammer head in Lorville
the spot at the bottom of the stair that you dont see till its to late lol
Hey guys. Looking to buy a ship to haul all my mining ore. The constellation Taurus is on sale right now and looks like a good options. Thoughts?
yuppp
@patent fiber i use the cutlass black, can haul the ROC miner as well
@patent fiber not sure exactly what your looking for but i love my cutty
I have it to go combo with Prospector. It takes its 32SCU 5x, so 3000 refined quant.x5x80= 1,2mil. Thats enough for me to go/risk sell the end product
Anyone know how to repair the Roc? The frost-star cooler overheats and stops the engine.
Prospector/Taurus is the dream team
It's not available to purchase with aUEC currently
Oh ok thanks . I'm looking for a new cargo ship now @pallid temple
What do you have at the moment?
Just renting a cutlass Black . Want a freighter that can carry several loads of quantinium to market
Depends what capacity you're looking for vs your budget.
Cheapest: cutlass black
Mid Tier: Freelancer Max, Constellation Taurus
High Tier: Caterpillar, C2 Hercules
https://uexcorp.space/ships
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
Just got the Taurus! Thanks 🙏
The cargo ship I found that worked great was the Freelancer MAX. 120 SCU of cargo. When ROC mining returns, it is a fantastic Roll On, Roll Off platform. It is also economical. If you're interested in spending RL dollars, the Taurus is a great ship and you can't go wrong with the connie series.
I plan to CCU my Cutlass Black to a Freelancer MAX when the "great reset" happens
@north oyster what do you mean by CCU your cutlass black
Do you know what a CCU is?
Great alpha reset, or the full release reset lol, cause idk if CCUs will still exist then
no thats why im asking
Cross Chassis Upgrade, just means ship upgrade from one to another
Prospector with Lancet
Mining Quantainium mostly.
One full 3195-3200 Quant takes about 15-45min including the QT travel HL2>Aaron>HL2.
of which 2x7.5min is total travel time & 10-25min searching, 5min breaking and collecting.
from 3200 after refinement i get 3155 out of it and sell for 81 at Lorville.
thats 255.555aUEC per prospector load.
5 prospector runs equal one Taurus mostly filled.
that equals >1.25mil aUEC Profit margin (including refinement, fuel and repair costs) within 8hrs of work (with a break in between for the ferron exchange)
that's nice income. still a lot less that BH and for more work (and more risks). They should really value better mining
doing ERT (and occasional VHRT), flying to a HH takes about 3-4 minutes and destroying it 30 seconds.
Giving about 90k if i recall correctly.
so round about u can say ERTs (if u always get one) are about 1.2mil aUEC per hour.
thats the same margin i get by mining instead of 8hrs+ waiting time. and the expenses are also only fuel and ship repairs. no ammo costs or missile/torp costs for destroying a HH.
edit: fixed my own math issue
I only do group VHRT for 70k (not counting call in arms pocket money. let's say it pays repairs). fast calculating it's 2.2mil for 8 hours work
each group warrant takes around 20min btw. I don't kill escorts it doesn't give much money
but at the same time, ROC mining is a thing.
while one full roc takes a bit longer than a full prospector, it gives equal profit margins with hadanite like with refined quantainium without the effort it takes to refine and ofc hauling volatiles in the first place.
so the total required time (& risk) is lower too.
and the entry-level for stuff u need is lower too.
a cutlass and roc together cost less than a prospector and a mining head.
at the expense of more fuel consumption and hull degredation.
...
one unit (cSCU) hadanite is worth as much as 3 units refined Quantainium.
Yep roc mining is better profit than prospector. when it works fine xD I heard it was kinda broken on this patch
havnt done much on 3.14 yet
im still fighting with my will to try to (re)learn the capacitor nonsense
scanning is a pain it seems and makes travel time way longer
Is scanning broken for the prospector too ?
even before the scanning rework, having a 2nd ship or even a third within your prospector (another prospector and a scout) was a great addition to continue scanning/searching, having a Quantum beacon and for multiple high value rocks to mine one after another.
What's a good mining route?
Does capcitor chages to weapons, impact mining laser power?
I have a question about the % numbers that appear when you do a ship scan. What do they represent? They are usually in the 100s or 1000s of percent and I can't figure them out.
I am solo mining in a MOLE and am trying to use them to figure out if it is worth getting out my pilot seat and going down to the laser to actually mine. I thought they were telling me in some way, if a rock was high or low in something, but for example, I have seen a rock that was this:
5214.99% Tungston
4784.02% Laranite
I thought that since the laranite was so close to the tungston, that it was a decent rock and would contain a high amount of laranite. When I scanned it with the actual mining laser though it was:
10% Tungston
9% Laranite
80% Inert
How do I read the numbers from the ship scan in a meaningful way?
.The whole rock is 10000% as you can see in your example - 5200Tung + 4800Lar. What does the scan show are Minable resources=useful ore. It doesnt show the percentage of Inert. So you need to always read the rock with mining head.
..even If you could scan 9900quant+100borase, you havent still won. It could be 10%quant, 1%borase, 89%inert 😃
Ok so the scan is useful in telling me what ores are in the rock, but the numbers are completely useless, because they don't include inert?
right
ok, thank you
I am not entirely sure why they even bothered to include the numbers...
how much does it take for area 18 TDD to refresh it's sell stock on quant?
Usually 15 min for restock I believe
thx
Pretty sure it's unlimited
any one have a good mining build that works ?
What are you mining in and looking for? For Prospector or MOLE, Hawkes Gaming has an excellent YT video for 3.14 options.
ROC mining is DEAD at this time because PING is FUBAR for small deposits.
I do love my cutty and will buy another one in-game. But for ROC mining (currently dead), cargo and overall usefulness for my SC business model, the MAX takes the cake.

-Today I show you how to stay hidden & crack 8k+ rocks u...
i was trying to mine quantainium but i keep blowing myself up overcharging the rock
Are you using the Lancet?
yes
do you do this with Surge?
OK, if you are cracking a normal rock, don't use surge except right at the start. That video I linked has him going through how to use surge with the helix. Same applies to the Lancet
Also, the Hawke video also goes through using both but without as much detail
ok
Surge will vaporize you in a heartbeat, LOL. You do have to use it correctly because it has no love for missing the mark.
ive noticed
LifeLine is a good consumable to counter the surge overcharge until you get the hang of it
Also, shift all your shields to front (IF we can still do that, because it is a bubble now)
so think i will practice on rocks near a refinery
Does increasing capacitor to weapons buff the mining laser?
I have not heard that it does (though it would makes sense if it did because I use to always overclock my laser). I've been busy testing ping failure associated with ROC mining, so I've not had a lot of time in the seat of my Prospector. @chrome beacon
Over clocking the laser does work though?
The power triangle works differently than "overclocking" in this new setup. You shift power from the pool to lasers, and yes, it does increase ammo count and also recharge time
At the expense of boost and shields
Right, so we dont know if that buffs the laser. But click the overclock button does work?
I've not tried that since the rework. If overclock is still available (and one would think it would be for computer, etc) then yes, it will help the laserhead on the Prospector
Ok thank you
Let me know what you find out, it'll be awhile before I can get in game (maybe tomorrow or Sunday)
I will, I test it and report back
thanks, that'll be useful information for all of us
Learned the hard way about the ROC Hadanite mining, came here and saw it wasn't just me T_T
Had a similar experience, spent like 2 hours flying around Aberdeen to get 2 deposits and one was covered by a huge slab of rock so that was GG
ROC not working?
wdym?
Some people in here saying it’s dead ☠️ - was wondering if it’s bugged or something
guys what is the best ship for vice trading? I've 315 in mind but on rp side it's too classy imo xD
something with 8-15scu would be enough I guess
maybe for RP a reliant kore, but that's a tad small, perhaps an avenger titan at 8SCU?
Nomad is also cool and fitting with 24 scu, so you'll only ever have it like half full if you can bare it
and if you wanna spook the drug labs, a cutty blue at 12 scu
@pliant matrix prolly should've used the reply tool, oops
np 😉
Ha yeah I forgot about nomad could be cool too
never had a reliant so might wanna try them. big firepower too with current patch it seems
I love the way they look but I've never flown one since I assumed they were all combat oriented
kore is a multirole like titan iirc
Maybe Cutlass Red, as it's Drug (medical ^^) ?
xD maybe but cutlass are too expansive for now. around 2mil for the red and blu
I'll have to feed a lot of junkies to make them worth it xD
im at the wrong place at the wrong time
if doing a character reset, does it also reset refinery jobs?
pretty sure
I'll probably try later for sure before I head to bed. In case any events happen this weekend want to be sure I am ready
since char reset now should help fix the ship claim problem
The issue is that PING fails to pick up small FPS/ROC deposits. The first time out I spent 3.5 hours and found two deposits of hadanite. That returned 49K aUEC for those 3+ hours. ROC mining is dead as it stands now in 3.14. BUT there's more!! Yes, the ROC powertrain now dies in one trip AND the Laser mining and collecting functions swap and you can't mine anything. Fun Fun Fun!!!
I tried multiple times to find a way to make the ROC mining work. Different search techniques, speeds, methods, etc and it was a fail. Now on to Prospector mining for now. I'd rather have the option to swap out with ROC mining but it's dead this patch.
where can i sell the stuff i hand mined in my backpack?
Soooo that nine tails mission to provide medical supplies seems pretty crappy? You buy medical supplies for 17-17.5 and they sell for only 18.10 at the station cru-l1 ? am i missing something?
iirc, i have sold them at area 18. Not in TDD, but the other building next to it
If you have a ship with a cargo floor, you can save them to a box and place it in your ship and try a mining outpost
Is there a known fix for the can's scan this rock bug?
s the origin 100i good for hauling small amounts?
good for hauling very small amounts
Did cargo is a good way to make some money in 3.14 (with big cargo ) ?
nope, servers are linked when it comes to the shops/vendors. You're never able to fill up cargos now.
Yup, and probably won't change before cargo refactor
Ok
what do you think about renting ships for trading? Thinking about renting a freelancer to make bigger deals than my avenger titan
Trading isn't worth yet
I'd suggest renting ship for mining or Bounty hunting
Maybe for transporting refined ores, but that's all
well to all people who thought about trading vice...don't xD I'm selling a 8scu cargo one unit after another...
How can i get into mining as a newbie?
how much money can i make with mining
Depend on how good you are
Could be close to 0, to 1 millions an hour
The more you play, the better you get, better will be the payout
what to do when trade terminals dont allow to select any target? (ship or backpack)
When will I be able to buy a Hull c
During IAE I guess
Before 3.14 that was an easy recommendation, rent a Cutty,ROC and buy Pembroke armor. BUT that is now DEAD. The Prospector rental can only do low end ore because the laser head on it is close to worthless, HOWEVER, you will earn money and learn the ropes. You just won't earn a lot, and might not recoup your rental cost. Also you can reach out to teams like the one that @thin escarp runs where he takes out newer players and helps them learn the ropes with MOLE mining as a team. That might be one of the better ways at this point for now.
Like Globy said, this November UNLESS they run a special sell during CitizenCon this October. I plan to get one also.
@fathom vector so you don't miss this reply to your inquiry
best way to make money with the herc?>
Do mining and use the Hercule to move the Refined Ores to city
sounds like a plan
That's what I do with my M2 since 3.13 😄
has anyone successfully completed a NineTails cargo mission? seems bugged. I could not sell medical supplies at a locked down station
did it started ?
I may try ship mining again. What's the max I can make from a Prospector of quant and then what's the realistic amount?
Mole was close to one million full
Prospector would be 1/3 of that
Getting full is rare though
I'm thinking of going to Aron Halo, but will I be able to get the quant to a refiner before it explodes doing that?
Dunno, stopped doing there since Lyria had big quanta
But people still do go to Aron Halo
844800 to be precise for Mole with 88 price 😄
Anyone not able to sell their med supplies at NT?
Yeah, the bug was there the first time too
Seems it might only be the CRU-L5 station
How big a chance of getting PKed at Lyria?
Never got any issue
Is it possible to open up a personal storage crate and put the items back in your inventory?
What's the losest refinery to Lyria?
No
At HUR L1 and I can't find a stampede module. Looking at the display of the modules and it seems to be quite bugged these days.
Hur-L2 is where I normally go for Prospector size items
If you leave out of CRU-L1 and go 11.5M km towards ARC-L3, drop out of QT there. You can get back to CRU-L1 pretty quick. Also Cru is there only refinery that gives you a 3% bonus for refining Quantainium.
I swear whatever avenue of income I attempt just wants to make it as hard as possible.
Any idea where can I sell thoose pizzas ? x)
should I buy tons of medical supplies to sell at nine tails lockdown?
You can try, but everyone is doing that
So you will get 10scu per station if lucky
what do they sell for during ninetails?
They ask for medical supply
But the production is very small compared to all traders
do you know event sell price ?
You got a bonus from crusader that is +/- double what you bought
can you sell yet? @blissful oxide
The pizza or medical supply ?
Not yet, the first try was a failure, waiting the next one to retest and sell thoose 100scu of med
No idea what can I do with the pizzas though D:
I think its dependent to CRU-L5, so if they switch the station it might get fixed
When BMM comes you can sell pizza
Dunno, seen people able to sell at CRU-L5
But, why would the starfarer be filled with pizzas ? x)
Theres many reports on the IC about CRU-L5 not working, even some from last weekend
Yeah last week got the same issue on CRU-L5
but someone told me in this discord he had no issue
right now I have like half full MSR
gonna try filling it right now
I had a full one earlier in the week but it got lost to a 30k
Yeah, lost 150scu total due to 30k or just me crashing to low atmosphere moon x)
lmfao same, I crashed with a few scu earlier today
Damn Cellin or Yela
hahaha
it could only ended bad
Well, gotta find someone who know what to do with the pizzas x)
you just have to eat them
18k pizza to eat ?
I should invite every employee to thanks them 😄
17978 units yes
whats it called?
Pepperoni Pizza
wtf
Yeah I know
is that a visual bug
Nah I don't think
did you buy the pizza somewhere???
I wonder if I can sell them during the event ?
Maybe
No, I got them from starfarer wrecks x)
Huh. interesting
Thought it was medical supply, thought I would get rich
Then realize it was mostly pizza x)
lmfao
only got them in SC sorry 😦

Heloooo
Can you equip more than one FLTR-XL module at a time to reduce inert material even more than one would?
anyone knows how to combat the scanning issues during mining, where it just keeps scanning although you not moving the laser or changing modes? been happening alot to me today
yes unless things got changed
whats a good trade route for cats these days?
which modules do i need for quantanium mining using lancet? I know one is surge, i can't remember the other two
Stampede?
You only really need surge, but brandt, stampede or optimum can be handy too. I might start taking double surge so I have to change the modules out less.
I have no idea how people are using active modules in 3.14 though, whenever I use them (minus surge) all the rock data disappears and I have to dial back the laser intensity.
Waiting the next one today and hope it works
Is there a prospecting ship that can carry the ROC?
As in a mining ship that can carry a ROC? No
Nop, the elevator can barely hold 2 humans
i got a bug i think
my quant while mining turned into inert
the timer still had its countdown
when i came back to the refinery the inert was turned back into quant
some people reported that the inert stuff didnt turn back into quant at the refinery
so be aware that all the hard work might turn out useless
hmm no cargo terminal shows my ship on my backpack. This is since yesterday, I have no idea why 😦
hmmmm i cant find any roc minables, did something change?
New bug, only seem to show on a scan at 1km
Found some while in the Mole, very rarely though
why does the alarm sound activate almost immediately after i extract quantainium?
doesn't it suppose to have 8 minutes?
Its 15
ok 15. but the red alarm appeared seconds after the i first extracted
does that happen?
So there's the blockade around CRU L1 right now. If I want to haul supplies where to I got to get them? I assume that I deliver them to CRU L1, is that currect?
And ... is it worth doing?
Do FLTR-XL stack?
Happened to me today as well, the quant exploded too but I was able to refine it anyway
how long does it take for a commodity to come back into stock at a terminal?
Aprox ten min on 4 scu in my experience.
Looking for turret operators for the M.O.L.E 100k pr run pr operator. One or twice a week. Any innterrest?
Sure, if I'm around
Sent you an invite to the bar. Were loading out in aprox 1hrs20 min. Anyone else?
2 nice rocks in quick succession 49% and 45% qt
Is trading viable
5 quick trips around 1.2m in refinery
Did you figure it out?
I found a youtube video that said yes - it seems like you get close to 50% inert material reduction from stacking - seems like a mole would benefit from having one gun stacked but 30k's make that risky
Which refining method, if any, is mathematically the best mix of inexpensive, fast and efficient?
Haha, solo-mined my Mole last night and it was rage inducing running up and down ladders and going through doors. Moving the ship because the asteroid fragment floated just out of range. Then, after collecting the quant, seeing that I left a rock with 25% quant uncracked. All for a 15% quant haul
Time to log in and go see what it sales for.
there is no best mix
This, because I wanted a break from bounty hunting lol
its like: pick 2
dinyx solvenation is the cheapest with best yield but takes longest
dinyx can take about a little over a day depending on what you got
I usually get about 1460 units of quant and a mix of quartz and its 1 day and 9 hours
whenever i do got a full load of quant in my pros its around a day and 10 hours
Been using Dinyx, but think I'm going to switch to Ferron to cut the time in half.
is it the same yield?
Probably not. Can't remember. I think I'll start with Dinyx during a mining day and switch to Ferron later in the day to made everything get done more in a group.
Nice! I don't see where it mentions the processing time on that graphic though.
So, what’s the point of my ship having over 100 SCU if outposts always seem to run out of stock before filling even 2 SCU? Am I missing places that have bigger stock, or what?
Probably: those places don't seel the most valuable stuff
Try fluorine for never-ending supplies: https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Fluorine
Those will all have large availability. You won't make bank though; https://sc-trade.tools/trade-routes?q=%257B%2522ship%2522:%2522Constellation%2520Taurus%2522,%2522investment%2522:350000,%2522showDetails%2522:true,%2522minQuantityPerMinute%2522:50000%257D
Can you load the completed part of the refining job into a ship and deliver it before the whole job is done?
Also, it looks like there's a storage option thing on the bottom of the refining jobs which lets you select a ship. Does that automatically load into a ship?
1: No, if you load a semi-complete order you'll lose the rest.
2: iirc it's not done automatically, that's how you choose the ship you want to load the order into when its finished
Has the refining glitch been fixed in live? not sure if it's already been answered sorry
I know it's been resolved in PTU
Is there a more accurate site than https://sc-trading.kamille.ovh/trading/ for trading? This one seems no longer accurate as of 3.14
Thank you!
where do yall go for quant mining? planet mining for me is borked this patch
its either find no quant rocks at all or find ones with like 2% in them, or 30k after an hour due to ninetails
hm alright
ill see if i can find stuff later at hur l3. everywhere has been really bad for me
thanks tho
tho i do think roberts is telling me to go back to bounties lmfao
I mean, you might still 30k, but at least it will be in space 😄
Whats wrong with node scanning after 3.14? I cant scan any R.O.C mine-able rocks any more. I just scan for these larrge rocks I cant do anything with.
I'm on Aberdeen, but cant scam for any small nodes any more.
So im buying a ship for the first time (cutlass black) and im planning to buy a R.O.C with it, but im not sure if space mining is better than surface mining
im learning how to mine for the first tiem
time
Space mining costs 2M to get into. ROC mining 172k 😄
ROC mining is very viable. If you find you like it, you can always save up for a prospector with the money you get from the ROC.
thank you : )
I've been hearing that the smaller ROC sized mining deposites are exceptionally hard to find in 3.14 compared to 3.13. It that true or did the best locations maybe change?
Does anyone else have trouble keeping their prospector stable while trying to mine on planets like Microtech this patch?
Nothing changed deposit-wise, my datamine shows that everything is still exactly the same as 3.13 (for mining) 🙂
BEST Video on the history and current state of TRADE in Star Citizen you can hope for:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBsZXcFlgzI
First off, I apologize for the lack of...I don't know, overall visual pizzazz. I am tired and didn't feel like spending forever making a powerpoint to overlay on this. The actual video is a trade run I did after recording the audio, of Processed Food from Cellin to Area 18 after waking up in Orison. 45 minutes, less profit than stated in the Jo...
@delicate girder it is true. It's around 1k to find the deposits. They are still there, you will just be looking forever.
Jack Axton once again knocks it out of the park.
so SC trade tools says this on the buyer
does that 2000 per minute mean their inventory opens up by that much per minute?
So, that's what the data files say.
In reality, we suspect it bunches 10-15 mins worth of refresh and does it all at once.
Do note that the refresh happens on all the servers: it may be gobbled up by someone you don't even see on another server.
What do you all do when the roid/rock won't take a laser charge? I found a 47% quant in the belt and after some shenanigans with scanning it finally showed stuff correctly. Max laser for minutes made no blip. I scanned other stuff, nothing let me use my laser. Power was on. Recycled ship power, overclocked laser, got out of my seat and back in, used brandt... So frustrating to find a huge cluster and go back to base empty handed.
Get in optimum range and use module to reduce the resistance (can't remember which is best) plus fire a surge module followed by a stampede module. More easily said than done of course.
@foggy stone mightve been a dud.
or a rock within a rock
then you need to find that sweet spot.
Just came across a rock which was probably pretty close to that one. I was around 8k mass I think and around 40% quant. I couldn't move the needle much at full power, so I surged it once at extremely close range and almost got into the green then surged it again and actually put it in the red and unfortunately exploded it. Nearly took out my prospector in the process. It can be done, but it's very tricky!
Can you fire two mining lasers at one rock in a Mole?
Why would you mine 8k 40%quant rock with Prospector?
i know trading is as good as it used to be, but are there any reasonable methods to make some money with trading now if I just want to jump online for a chilled trading session, rather than mining? 😀
also, are there any websites which actively track and show you the stock of items at different ports, without having to visit them etc?
One Lancet and one Helix
And as you prefer for the last one, I'd say a second Lancet cause Helix alone can't do much for Quanta, or atleast, isn't safe
can't wait to 30k in this
In that, you'll be the cause of the 30k
lmao
@fierce ore maybe try commodity alerts?
wait until more of the bigger ships comes out for players to fly
i bet jav will cause a lot of 30ks
Imagine the time to fill that ship with current trade status 🤣
Anyone going mole miningv
You can easily crack an 8k rock.
Didn’t they mention a cargo insurance some time in the past? It would be nice for 30ks as much as for pirates lol
Also does anyone know if we’ll be seeing AI cargo ships? I was just thinking it would be cool if stations actually had cargo ships flying to and from them from time to time
Quantas should provide this yes
When though ?
Soon TM
how much can you make in a single mole run?
There is a bug that is causing the laser mining part to fail. You will find at this time that you can switch to extract and it actually charges the rock. I was mining and had collected two ores when it switched on me and I could not finish mining the remaining 4 rocks.
No need to have insurance when there is no Trade. But as for then the Hull Series comes online, the trade will be different. Instead of being an "owner" of the cargo you will be a hired hauler to take the goods to destination. This will also include reputation, etc. Ship captains sailing the seas today do not own the cargo they haul.
iirc, According to @thin escarp you can make about 770k aUEC on a MOLE run. If you are interested in learning, on the weekend his team makes runs and they like to hire out and help new players. You will be able to learn the ropes and earn a decent income for your efforts.
The Quanta won't happen for this until there is a complete refactor of cargo. I think that is slated to be completed middle of next year.
we will need server meshing aswell
True dat
I'm speculating that CitizenCon will be a load of surprises including Alpha 4 and a full reset/wipe
Thanks for tips everyone. It was doing this for 2K mass rocks too so I gave up and calmly reminded myself it is in Alpha. then rage quitted once my ship was stored >.>
hang in there, this build is really rought
Thanks for this one. It is literally the only one I did not try
it's dangerous to try that one because you'll blow yourself up. But you can extract for a few moments then switch back to mining to see if you show charge on the rock
Do you think the wipe will let us keep our ships with aUEC? cause if so I'm close to my Mole
Be sure to contribute to the Issue Council with things like this
Yeah I grabbed screen recording but forgot to put server info on screen
No, sorry, it will be a full game complete reset back to pledge status
eh my pledge status aint so bad
likewise, I'm building my fleet to be an income earner right off the bat
I'm fighting the urge to get that Company pack. it has the best savings of the industrial related ones with 16%. Entrepreneur is 5.5% and Tycoon is 11.3%
Hi guys, sorry but I have a noob question. I mined some Quantanium and I'm told I should sell it at Area 18. But when I get here, and use the trade terminal, Quantanium is listed as red and it won't let me sell it. Am I in the wrong place?
did you refine it first?
if you did it might be full possibly try server hopping or wait it out as it refreshes every so often
Like Duryn mentioned, you must refine it first at one of the refinery stations (CRU-L1, MIC-L1, ARC-L1, HUR-L1 and HUR-L2).
Yes, it's been refined.
Huh. It worked all of a sudden. Or at least, for some of it.
ah, that is a trade issue
trade is totally messed up
thus is screws up the mining game loop also
i normally region hop when area 18 was full i would go EU try it there then Aus and then USA i would normally get an area i could sell it all then
all the regions are linked, so it actually was probably a "time" issue rather than a region issue that allowed you to eventually sell
thats possible it worked so i just kept doing it 🙂 lol
yep, I use to just hang out in the TDD and wait for the clock to cycle
i honestly don't think wipe til beta. they need people to test the expensive shit.
We can hope but I'm thinking they're going to clean the clock
cargo hauling is still broken right now right?
VERY BROKEN
I agree with tripperdan99 i do believe a wipe is coming soon
First off, I apologize for the lack of...I don't know, overall visual pizzazz. I am tired and didn't feel like spending forever making a powerpoint to overlay on this. The actual video is a trade run I did after recording the audio, of Processed Food from Cellin to Area 18 after waking up in Orison. 45 minutes, less profit than stated in the Jo...
would love to cargo haul again some day doing combat is kind of getting boring
The Cargo is broken for the 9TL event with meds, etc. It is literally FUBAR.
The video by Jack Axton is maybe one of the best "history of trade" and what is going on with trade in SC that has ever been produced.
there are a few things here and there you can do. It won't be very profitable but it will be a fun little loop for the heck of it. You can buy scrape at a TDD like Area18 and run it to PO. After that sell, go to Celin to one of the Farms, like Terra Mills and buy food. Then take that back to Area18 and sell at the Admin office.
that loop will get you a little under 40K in a C2
The biggest ship i have is the MSR
Try Titanium from Arial to Hurston
you should be able to get a full load there
little better margin
Or there might be some metals/gases from Wela to A18, I haven't check in awhile
Oh cool! That'll about pay for the fuel of my C2 by the time I finish all that flying.
Ah who am I kidding, I'll just get that fuel for free when I do my 75th character reset. :^)
3.14 is rough, VERY rough, to say the least. Everything I have tried has failed so far. I've had tons of 30k, then mining messing up, the cargo being dead. But I make that run just for the fun of it.
Yeah I lost two full C2's of quantanium because the TDD refused to acknowledge any (yes ANY) of my ships under both buy AND sell.
That, and the once again loss of half my fleet to claim bug spurred my most recent character reset.
These devastating losses are truly trying my patience.
They are pushing a new build to PTU today .. if it doesn't fail like the previous one did where they had to roll it back. Hopefully something will stick
And if you consider the video you posted above, it causes me great anger and sadness that they can, for years, neuter and neglect an entire gameplay loop in a game that has so few, and then continue to gimp the remaining ones instead of ever just stepping back and making the stuff that's there, work.
That reminds me that I need to update my PTU
Saying that Jack is salty about that issue is a massive understatement
Honestly fuck Orison, it's really pretty and nice and I still don't give a care. Fucking fix what exists before you add new pretty shit. If you're gonna add something that's broken anyway, it might as well be a fucking gameplay loop like salvage, or electronics/ data running. But no, we get a shitty ass planet that takes 20 minutes to leave and runs like piss shit for actually everyone.
Bruh I'M salty. Like saltine level.
Get me a little jam and butter, you know? 😎
I understand but we've been through this rodeo a couple of times. It is like there is a halfway decent patch then a dead dog patch. This is the season of the maggot infested dead dog patch
It's not a game ... it is a development
That's bullshit and you know it.
We get to play it while they drive down the road and change tires... it is pretty rough
This isn't my first alpha. And it has lower standards than anything else ever has.
And the point of an alpha in development is to do just that, and use community feedback to MAKE those changes. But we don't really see that, do we?
If that was the case, when they do shit like break trading, or make it the same economy without increasing rates across all regions, they should have players test it and go "Oh shit we fucked up, didn't think of that, here lets fix that!"
But no, they just let that loop fester and die for years on end.
I wish I could.
I'm on antibiotics so I'm temporarily a straight edge and it hurts. 😎
I understand, but I retain the ability to disconnect from the game emotionally. It isn't worth it to me. I will play when it allows me to and not worry about it when it doesn't. I do not regret any dollars I have put towards its development
I'm literally just asking for a BASELINE. A simple baseline of slight playability.
And you can't get that.
At least not in 3.14
I'm not saying your claim isn't without validity ... I'm just saying I protect myself from these crazy loop cycles the game has taken us through
In the end of the day, "I" am not the product. So the idea that they should be able to push a build with claim bug and mobiglass shit requiring character resets 20 times a day for a significant amount of the playerbase?
Fuck that. Roll it back, or better yet, wait and don't push a broken ass build until the HUGE kinks are worked out?
AND have a Free Fly to boot, LOL
Just so we are clear I was never one to care about waiting.
I would much rather WAIT for new stuff then get it broken and fucked.
Cuz that's gonna go well
I regrettably got like 4 friends into this game just towards the end of 3.13
Guess what?
They all quit.
All of them.
a glorious dumpster fire
Every single one of them.
They all had great fun and dealt with the bugs in 3.13, and then 3.14 happened. And even waiting for it to get some hotfixes and shit, but no. Just too much to ask for I guess.
this game quickly sorts out the hardcore gamers from the casuals
hi, just coming to say hi. lol
and probably asking for some guidance in the future.
i just downloaded Star Citizen, and its my first time trying the game.
Howdy
sup
i'm fine, but gonna head to bed soon, since i'm in asia time region, and it's almost 3AM :D
welcome to sc :)👋
Which is better, the prospector or the ARGO Mole?
Doesn't the mole have 3 separate miners so the pilot plus 2 other guys can mine?
the pilot cant mine, you have to change seat every time
Oh
Ooooooh
me personally made it mad to change seatr all the time because of the fancy chair animations..
I only have it because I'm waiting on the Orion
Yeah Imma just get the prospector so I can just farm quantanium by myself
Way cheaper anyway
Truth
when you re new to mining I would recommend the prospector. Because sometimes you have to move the ship to reach the rocks behind other better or something like that and on the mole you have to stand up.. move.. climb ladder.. sit on seat.. takes ages whgen you make it more often ^^
Which is why I conscrip- I mean persuade friends to ride with me
Yeah that's true I'm pretty new to this game in general and once I heard mining is a really good way of getting money I chose the prospector as my first ship other than my Aegis
Good choice
There's also ground mining vehicles
And even hand mining equipment
I dont know how it is now, but when I had a mole 1 year ago I had trouble with a friend using it. We were out of sync the whole time, the laser hit somewhere else than I saw and we had issues with the scanner. THe prosp found rocks like crazy and the mole nothing.. this was 1 year ago.. not sure what changed in that time
Oh yeah I used that when I went to everyones favorite rehabilitation center
🙂
Example, there were plenty of times that I would think my miners were good, but they kept telling me to lift
So I had to figure out my sightlines compared to theirs
I was so confused why tf it was taking so long then I started scrolling my mouse wheel then my mind just exploded
is there a place where i could apply job being as one of the turret miner on another player's MOLE ship ?
thanks
So am I correct that you can kind of guard against 30ks stealing you cargo, if your load up the cargo and request docking from the starting point as you leaving for the destination? I've heard of this technique and want to understand it and know if it's legit.
Correct: the game will respawn you at the last landing location visited/requested.
You only lose the cargo if your ship gets attributed to a place where you cannot spawn it, i.e. a planet outpost 🙂
Because you then have to claim
A drive-by landing request does the job. There is still a window where you are vulnerable though
Unless you only trade between places that can spawn your ship
So if, for instance, I'm delivering refined goods from Arc L1 to Area 18, I need to fly out of Arc L1 and make a landing request a little ways off the pad, then head to Area 18?
Space station to city is already safe, as both can spawn your ship 😄
The safeguard is like this:
- Buy commodities at a moon outpost
- Go request landing at a nearby space station
- Go to destination
From 1 en-route to 2 you are vulnerable, but from 2 to 3 you are safe
Your cargo is safe?
If the server 30Ks after you leave the station, the ship will be rolled-back to the station. So when you connect back, the ship and the cargo will both be on the station.
If you explode spline-jumping, now that's another issue... 😄
spline-jumping?
That's when you QT to somewhere on a planet
Rarely it will make you pass through the planet itself (instead of around), making you explode
Is Area 18 the closest safe delivery point for mined stuff from Arc L1? I guess you can only deliver refined goods to planetary ports right?
You do that at the admin areas right?
The Trade Division, it's different than the Admin. You can double check at https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer
Sorry for all the questions, but when I go to my refined work order and select the storage option as a specific ship, that loads that cargo into the ship so it will be there when I put the ship on the pad right?
Correct, that's how it works 🙂
So could I load different work orders into different ships?
Yes, you get to decide where the refined orders go
As long as an entire work order goes unto the same ship
i.e. you cannot split work orders
Does it load the ship when I press the collect button?
Yeah, as soon as you click the button after selecting the ship
Anyone know what causes the bug where quantanium instantly goes critical?
It's damage
If you land too hard, hit anything, or take any damage, it will explodes faster, like instantly
Not sure how it was damage when I hadn't even gotten a chance to move but ok will keep in mind
I had my Quant go insta-critical after using my mining laser on another rock, tried it again on another run and it didn't happen. I think something is jank about triggering it
Is the dupe glitch still here or did it get patched?
My C2 won't store at a port! I have tons of cargo on it. I'm worried.
I hit the store button and it's not working.
I saw something last week about it but I think it got rolled back
Yeah nvm it's still here just saw a video from 5 days ago of someone using a prospector and duping the quantanium
It has been fixed on the patch this week-end
Oooooooh
how many of u guys have been robbed while on a run?
Where is the best place to mine in 3.14?
Hi all, any idea why I can't find ROC mineable rocks with cutty?
When I ping all I find is bigger rocks that can be mined with prospector
Do you want to stay in space? Do you mine quant?
Yes, in space but dont have to be quant
Thanks!
Feel free to play with the filters a bit, to add/remove ores you don't care about
Im gonna buy a prospector would be nice for help i already have experience with hand-mining DM
Unfortunately, ROC mining isn't viable in this patch. The problem is the PING does not pick up fps/ROC deposits unless you are under 1000meters from it. They are there, you just can't see them
First time out, 3.5 hours hunting, two hadanite clusters of 3 rocks. Total earnings 49.5k aUEC
It wasn’t this morning. I have two jobs that are tripled
is trading fixed
@crimson mantle makes this game worth playing single handedly, more so than the devs.
Cheers bud.
Thanks a lot 😄
Wow, Area 18 wouldn't take all my Quantanium! That sucks!
I didn't really have that much too.
Man the market in the game is screwed up!
Even with "accidetally", getting a couple refining dupes, mining it still a crap ton more of a pain than bounty hunting!
I think I'll make far more bounty hunting than doing this even now that I'm fairly efficient at it.
so i spawned at area 81 were do i go to get cargo?
To the TDD I think. It's right outside the hotel.
Is there any way to sell all the commondities you have all at once at the TDD or do you have to select them each individually?
According to @crimson mantle site Arc L3 is the best Quant mining. Are PKs a problem there? Do that and it being farther away from a refinery make it less attractive than Aron Halo? Also, I don't see Lyria on that list.
FTW! Just claiming my prospector from one station to another caused to game to steal my mining modules. I didn't have a 30k or anything. It didn't steal the mining head but did steal all the modules.
yeah that happens when you claim your mining ships
i recommend after storing to take modules off if youre done mining
Was thinking the same. Thanks
so whats the best moon/planet for ROC mining? ive tried all of these recommended places and have gotten nothing so far
Anyone experience the anying feature of the Prospector where it frequently kills you as you enter it?
In 3.13, ROC mining was pretty good, but in 3.14 the occuranes of the small rocks are much less frequent I think.
yea i havent played since then so
i made bank in 3.13
i guess its time to save up to rent a prospector
@delicate girder Yes I have. No workaround as far as I know. Just respawn and try again. The less anoying bug is simply falling through the ship once you board.
@violet emberdont rent a prospector
save to buy.
renting will not make you money
cant change the laser.
what the hell? i remember being able to change it on the rental
This is like the fifth fucking time in the last two days some fucking NPC has done this at the door of the refining room! You can't get by the fucker when they do this!
Most other NPC can get by, but I can't.
just go through the another door 😀
Is prospector mining still pretty profitable in 3.14?
Wait there's another door to that area? I'm going to check and call BS if not.
Yes for a few more days until they fix a bug. After that, it won't be able to complete with bounty hunting again.
That the dupe order bug?
Yep. It's been fixed in PTU now.
There is a ladder by the door to the shop that takes you in the back way🖖
Yep. Too focused. Didn't see it before.
A char reset kills all stuff being refined I assume.
I took leave of my senses and bed logged at ARC L3. Now I'm stuck at an infinite loading screen:
I easily have over a million refining right now. First person who helps me save that gets half of it. LOL!
U can log in commanders or in the other game mode
Or start loading then leaving, repeating the process multiple times
Hi there, i havent played in 3.14 and wanted to mine, did something change? Is there a new list of prices, which I had one of in 3.13?
Prices have not changed.
okay thanks. Ive seen the scanning has changed though, right?
Yes. new interface, hotkeys, and graphics effects.
Alright thank you.
You're welcome
Also, what kind of mining are you considering?
prospector
ok. ROC mining is broken.
why that? xD
The scanning feature is not working properly with ROC mining.
oh too bad
They planned to nerf it, I think, but I dont think that much lol
Apparently, it's hard to find gems at more than 1000m.
Well, no roc mining this patch for me then
I accidentally found some at 5km
But it's probably because I wasn't trying to mine, lol
is taking a valkarie to trade during the nine tails event worth it or is to too small to do anything meaningful?
Uh... This is cargo and mining. I think you meant #flight-combat-racing
I thought you could do cargo hauls and such to the nine tails station. Sorry my bad
Oh I misread
I see the to trade now
All I saw was Nine Tail and skipped ahead, lol
lmaoooo yeah that's fair
I mean hauling cargo there I am expecting some resistance so combat might be on the menu but its not what I am looking for really lol
I was thinking about this cargo type gameplay that CIG should plan and implement and it goes something like this.
Hiring NPC's to deliver cargo(Think of it as DPD/UPS delivery system)
As a player who has filled up a MOLE with larranite and Gold, after i have refined it all, i store them in my chosen landing zone/station hanger in Hurston.
I have a friend or a org that is based in Terra that wants some Larranite from me, He notifies me and begin the process of using a NPC org(UPS/DPD) and i then create a delivery pick up from Lorville. I also add "insurance" so that if my package is lost, i get paid for the price of the package(JUst like in real life dpdp/ups insurance cover)
I go to lorville with my items and give it to UPS/DPD and i provide the delivery address(Terra 2 for example in outpost 456).
UPS/DPD like in real world schedules and does deliveries once every 30mins of game time(an example) so that if 5 other players come with delivery requests and all our packages are around 500-600 SCU , DPD/UPS will use a c2 , else if its just my pacgae with is only say 50scu, they use a smaller cargo ship etc.
Once the C2 leaves hurston, u physically see the ship taking off with our physical cargo inside.
once it comes out of hurston space, if no other player is near the c2, the c2 ship despawns and becomes a "virtual npc quanta" and the backend guys can see the c2 travelling to terra etc.
If during navigating to Terra, a player pirate is near this ship, the ship spanws and the player can see and attack the npc c2 cargo ship and steal the cargo.
I get a notification from dpd/ups that my package has been lost and they now process to refund me.
WHat do you gusy think of this gameplay loop?
So similar to FFXIV?
Except you can intercept it
Also, easy to commit fraud
Which... I mean would technically be part of the gameplay
Could become a cool mission for other players that NPC's also request people to investigate possible fraud
FFIV?
Final Fantasy 14
They have a similar-ish system where you can have your NPC's set up shop and sell your goods
It's not anywhere NEAR as interactive as what you're proposing
either to your friends, to another org etc
Indeed
will fraud be part of SC?
I mean, again you could send a package via npc, get a friend to pirate it, get paid insurance, profit
the items stolen from dpd/ups could be tracked so a pirate cant actually resell it legitematly
how would us top that?
Oh, and your friend reports it as "found from stolen cargo"
And gives it back to you
any suggestions to improve this?
to make it"harder" for fraud?
besides just having the c2 never able to be intercepted?
Any thoughts on this coverage of the state of trade in Star Citizen? I thought it was comprehensive and concise. I think this would be a great reference for those new to trading.

45 minutes, less profit than stated in the Jo...
i have found this very useful
Hi, just started with the game, going to mine for my money.
I already own armor, can i just use the backpack for mining or do I need to buy the whole suit?
this looks kind of dumb, I know... lmao. but i just want to make money.
You can start with just the backpack/chest piece. There are arm pieces and leg pieces with added inventory spaces as well.
That's interesting, let me come back in 15 minutes. Have to walk my doggos.
other quick question, why is there a caution symbol in the list?
That just means its a pending change to your loadout and needs to be confirmed and equipped.
Doesn't matter how dumb you look, as long as it works
So, i am going to buy a multi tool at orison, what exactly do I need to equip on it?
When i go to sell my mined rock my personal inventory doesnt pop up. Is there a fix to this?
Are you in the correct terminal? You can't sell anything anywhere
What are you trying to sell?
Dolivine
You will need the mining attachment for doing hand mining or the tractor attachment if you need to move heavy crates around by hand but that is rare unless you regularly rob ships or do missiosn where you must transfer cargo from wrecks. The cutting tool does nothing yet.
You also may want to look at bounty hunting as it is the only solid form of earning aUEC at the moment without a big investment for a ship like a Prospector. ROC mining is close to dead in this patch also
Collect all ore for cash but be specifically looking for Hadanite
if doing FPS mining in caves
You should be able to sell Dolovine at the mining outposts or the Ore terminal at the refinery (not the refining terminal)or PO (not the cargo terminal). Should show up whether on a ROCm or in a backpack or ina crate in your cargo bay.
All outpost buy gems or station Admin offices (not TDD areas)
I've done several bounty missions, wanted to do something new. :)
i also do massive mining operations every saturday 10pm est. if you want to learn. make $$$ etc. we train everyone.
I recommend hooking with @thin escarp and his team, they've got some good things going
Joining a Mole crew can make you serious money as your portion is often still quite large.
I enjoy mining with my prospector and consider it good money but to be honest just operating the laser on a mole is often more lucrative and faster 🙂
@foggy iron if ya ever wanna ride with us for equal pay dm me.
What exactly is 10pm est?
in UTC?
2am
2:00 AM UTC
were working on a earlier time but its been harder to get enough of my pilots. haha
night
2am is night
Ah i see, ye, I am asleep then xD
i feel ya.
Not a night party person, ahahah
we do mine daily. but thats the huge one.
anyway, question; how to find places where to mine?
i got some guides i made up. I'll dm ya
thanks
Do I need an Oxypen for hand mining?
Probably? I mean, if you're planning on staying outside for large periods of time, I would assume so
How much does a ROC cost? I have a cutlass black, I'd be interested in trying some mining since trading is useless right now
172,000 in Lorville
oh, ok. That's not bad at all
So uh, i just go to mining posts now? at a planet?
then mine rocks, pick up the purple rocks
best to do cave missions if your hand mining rocks then sell at the local mining stations on the moon
Yeah i bought a multi tool with a mining tool.
Trying to do some ROC mining but none of the rocks will charge? I'm doing the correct type, hadanite, is there a bug rn?
Do you need to do missions or can you just freestyle?
try shutting your ROC off then power it back up there used to be a bug like that fitzsteve
you can freestyle
The issues with ROC mining are 1. No PING results unless very close 2. ROC dies due to powerplant failure in only a trip or two 3. Laser mining and collector roles swap and you can't crack the deposit.
Other than that, it works great
missions will take you directly to the caves where i have always found the most selection for hand mine rocks
Ah I had a power critical message, maybe that is it
trying to find mining missions, don't see any though.
I was cracking 6 rocks and got two done then the ROC laser swapped with the collector and it was over
there is a search and rescue mission thats worth like 4K to find the missing person
oh i see that one
I think investigation missions will lead you to a cave as well.
this one
not that one
look under search it should populate or atleast it used to fairly sure it was around 4,000aUEC for the reward but always took you to a cave
Not that specific one, no.
only these.
Those will not bring you to a cave either.
what jurisdiction are you currently in?
Orison
I always used to hang around Hurston
stenton
Hurston or Microtech are good locations to get the appropraite missions.
there we go thanks BlueFalcon9
Here's an example from Microtech.
Ah ok, so I do the mission and i can mine as well? So 2 in one?
yep that is the mission
yep thats how i got all my starter stuff hand mining to get the ROC
and rented the cutty black till i could buy it lol
Keep in mind, you don't have to do the mission. Yo can just exploit the mission area for mining.
took a lot of powering off and on but managed to get it going, same problem collecting too but powering on/off got it going too - cheers
Well, it means more money
Yes, it does.
glad to here fitzsteve i remember my ROC used to overheat alot I would shut it off for a good 5 mins or so and it would work as it should till it overheated again
Skip the hand mining then
I am just a starter, i just want to make simple money haha
Simple, good money to start up
Anyway game crashed so i am back at orison again. yay
thats how i started out with my Aurora hand mining then moved up to the ROC, Cutlass Black, Prospector
Got the same sort of tip as well
Someone else mentioned go for avenger.
But i think it's preference?
can't haul the ROC in an Avenger
MSR, Cutlass Black, Freelancer MAX
Nomad, Cutlass Black/Red,
Let's just start with making money, then I'll see what my next step will be.😆😅
the cutlass black or freelancer max are good ships the freelancer max will allow you to haul 120scu when you get into refining ore
Hand mining we go
Or the occassional trade gameplay.
Uh, do i need specific tools when i look for a missing person?
lol yeah very true
I carry 2 rifles and a pistol, lol
MedPens too
nope just your mining tool and look for ledges also you might get stuck in the cave as they can be buggy
did you buy Pembroke?
Idk ..?
lol that's annoying the nodes are inside the bigger rocks
Just bought med and oxygen pen at orison
What are the keys for it though?
Medpen is C
Oxypen?
Multitool?
Two is better than one. There is a likelyhood you might incur some personal injury while cave diving.
Not atm behind pc so asking why the keybind atm
I did
Multitool should be 4 if you have it equipped in the last utility slot
if your going to be around Hurston i would fly into Hur-L1 or Hur-L2 and land there incase you get stuck or the 30K hits ya
Yeah gimme a few minutes, trying to log in
But SC threw me out and doesn't want to let me in
DO i nEEd to shoot NPCs though? Or can I ignore them.
nothing to shoot when you do those missions
You have a choice to mix the hand mining with bounties. I started before bounty hunting gold rush. If it werent for friends who pulled me from that cave hell, borrowing me a ROC to go mine with them and make a good money, I would be now in psychiatry 😄 . After dozens of caves, I knew the whole complex to the bottom. Before stepping in I had to play some music to not get bored and poisoned by that place, picking rocks had a lag (fixed now), got stocked between some rocks from time to time and so on.. I dont want to discourage you at all, make your own experience 😉
just the hand minable rock
Haha, i will only do this to make some money with starting
lighting is on point tho
at first i thought it was a real person photoshopped into the game
the investigation mission your searching for a corpse
why does it look like I am about to kill someone with a medpen
Maybe you are, we don't judge
I mean.. maybe..
Are there any forms of space trucking / drug running (of commodities)
that are viable atm
or is everything entirely fucked
Short Answer: No.
@obsidian stone so I know stock is fucked all around but are their places buying?
like if I picked up a prospector
could I sell refined mineables at places
is refined quantanium a thing?
Any major LZ/City will buy your refined goods.
are refined goods the same as their commodity cargo counterparts
like is refined diamonds the same as regular diamonds?
doesn't help
are refined diamonds the same as regular commodity diamonds
that you'd buy from an outpost, do they sell at the same SCU rate
Yes
Alr thats what I thought
I just filled a Freelancer Max 70/30 with Laranite/Diamond and made 6k profit, what shall I spend it on? 😄
ive seen that too
it sucks because i just got into ROC mining this update and nothing is showing up
just read few posts up maybe?
i see
@hollow sedge a full load of hadanite in the ROC I around 200k, might take you around 1-2 hours depending on how efficient you are and of you encounter any bugs. When I started playing I rented a Cutlass and ROC and made good credits this way.
I found good hadanite deposits on Daymar
Panicked for a second, thought I sold all of my cargo for far less than what it was worth ar grim hex. Realized that you can only sell as much as there is demand for the item, so my money is safe
Just have to wait for a bit now
i just mined a bit in a prospector and want to sell to a mining station, but I cant choose anything
Do I have to refine it first? :(
normaly you should be able to sell it unrefined
what trading console is this?
If its not a trading console in a refinery you should go there
okay thanks.
unrelated: how do I store away my medipen, i have it in my hand xD
maybe hold R?
this is at least for holstering your weapon
worked, thx xD
my pleasure 🙂
refineries are in space only, right?
yes, HUR L1, 2, CRU L1, MIC L1, ARC L1 are with refinerys
Everus Harbor?
Everus Harbour does not have a refinery deck no
Neither does Bajini Point, Port Tressler or Port Olisar
Maybe someone can help me now. Yesterday I read here in chat, that if you travel with goods from one spaceport to another you goods are save from 30k. Today I was on my way from CRU L1 station to Loreville when a 30k happend.. I respawned at CRU L1 but my ship is lost in space and I can only get it back when I claim it.. which means the goods are lost.. anyone knows about it?
