Heh, was it a a lot? Would’ve been bad if you got a 30k while timing it. 😅
im new anyone wanna help me play, i would like to try out minning but im poor lol
I’ve got my mining tool equipped, but it won’t let me pull it out, my press 4 and nothing happens.
is the prospector or roc more profitable?
i have both and dont know which i should use for pure money making
Both make good coin, both are random earnings based off finding the ore/gems. ROC has more more things to you need to do before payout (load in ship, fly around, scan, locate gems, unload ship, mine gems, reload into ship, go sell) but you make about 200K aUEC per run. Prospector is simpler in that effect (get in ship, find ore, mine it, take to refinery) but has longer time table for earnings. The ROC beats Prospector in earning quicker. The Prospector lets you stack your jobs and then take them all to market at one time to sell.
the pizza guy farted.
Thank you very much
Anyone mining quantinium who i can join?
random question: can party members buy/sell cargo for your ship?
Not at this time, no
is the asteroid belt between crusader and arccorp no longer there?
What seems to be more profitable, space or planet/moon mining?
I seem to find tons of higher quality ores/minerals on planets than in space
Any mining crew i can join in?
Dammit, I wanted a terminal monkey
I’m doing a black box delivery mission, when I said it on the desk that says deliveries I can’t interact with the guy behind the counter and nothing is happening, bugged? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be much appreciated
Guys I'm debating whether to upgrade my package to the Orion. I love mining but usually it's either me playing solo or with 1-2 friends of mine. How practical do you think the Orion would be for a purchase? I am in an org too so could recruit some members from there to help out.
hey guys where do i sell the ore i mined after i refine it?
The major cities. Which one is best varies (some buy more than others).
https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer
anybody got a decent prospector loadout?
Is trading still busted?
I don’t even think theres an ETA on the Orions release. I’ve owned one for over a year with hopes it would come out. Stick with a mole for multicrew
is it possible to rent the Argo MOLE
Supplies are still low, yes.
The new event commodities are working better though
Thanks.
No, only buy atm
alright thank you
Yeah I saw those ingame events popping up and I was wondering if it is any better these days.
Any miner who i can tag along?
can you get one of those delivery mission boxes inside a prospector?
it only has a ladder to get inside, right? no ramp or lift
Only the ladder that’s right. And it’s quite tall so I don’t know if you’d be able to place one at the top... never tried
for the aurora and 300i, if you have box in hand and select "enter ship", it will play the animation and get you into the ship but you keep on holding the box
idk about other ships
those are the only two ive tries
tried
thank you dude ill check it once i rent the prospector
Surely your going to be using the prospector to mine not for box missions
quantanium minnig: whats better, moons/planets or asteroids?
mining* cant type today
i was thinking on using the boxes to mark clusters and interesting places
Best places for quantanium
Ahh that’s cool!
Anyone can help me with mining?
Do box missions "level up" like they used to? The more you do, the higher pay ones become available? Or do they just suck overall now.
ROC mining completely busted for me today. found a group of 3 hadanite rocks and couldn't bust a single one. Would sit there with beam at 100% for a couple minutes and charge wouldn't move at all
that's on top of pickup beam taking forever to pick anything up
prob server lag
i figured as much but it's still frustrating
I made 400k a few days ago in a 2 hour trip
Also, what lasers and modules do some of you use for Quantanium and some Bexalite or Taranite sometimes? I use the Helix, but i don't have any experience with other lasers?
Even if you're not too picky and if servers works fine you can make easy and fast money in roc
rented a c2/m2 and am in lorville, is there something simple I can try out trading?
or common trades like buy X and then sell at Y
So I'm a little confused by trading. Is there any way to know how much stock is wanted/for sale before you get somewhere?
im tryna get into trading too
you cant really tell unfortunately, alot of the time, the planetary outposts will only buy so much, and if you are hauling a large ship full of cargo, you may have to make multiple drop off trips. however, landing at one of the main cities, and using their trade terminals, they generally buy far larger quantities that allow you to sell your entire hold of cargo in one. the flip side is it takes longer to reach these terminals due to space port landing, train travel etc. The recent additions of commodity price updates has done wonders. earlier i loaded up my C2 with fireworks and flew it to microtec and sold via the admin office in the commons district. made 84k in one sale
yeah its high risk high reward, although the real risk at the moment is the server crashing mid cargo run.
Is that a big issue? I thought you could log in/out in ships with beds
no, if the server 30k,s youll lose all your cargo
Ouch. Does voluntarily logging out in a ship with beds work yet?
you can , but im not sure how long the cargo will stay there for
Ah. Well thanks for the info!
dev required at AUS servers hacker onsite
Okay im actually trying it right now with lancet
does overpowering/overclocking the ping item in the power>items tab do anything ?
but no actual added range or sth?
not that I'm aware of no, probably just a relict.
aight ty
I have been doing the ‘supply alert’ trading for a few days now in the M2. For the event items (Helium, food, fireworks, souvenirs, and audio/video gear) I have been able to pickup FULL loads every time, and sell FULL loads every time. The event items don’t make a ton, but it is nice to fill up a ship and make the run again
Beware - 30k will still cause you to loose all the cargo
I too have been doing this, but only thing is my C2 never shows the cargo inside.
same. imagine my stress first time I loaded it all and seen nothing in the cargo bay xD
Run fireworks.... it makes 87k per run if you fill up a c2
Can anyone tell me where to sell gold? All of the trading guides/apps say Lorville does, but it doesn't appear on the sell list.
For the Gold, try another terminal, or wait. Lorville should buy everything
is arial still bugged for mining or no
@coarse cape I mine there daily
yeah i tried going there no luck sadly
prob just the area i went to tho
what's the best cargo ship that can be bought in-game
currently still caterpillar
in a patch or two the C2 Hercules will steal its crown tho
yeah but that isn't available in game
nope, in the meantime caterpillar is your best bet by far
ok thanks
Anyone see this one before? I spawned in with no armor or guns, or the undersuit i was wearing. I do have one of my other undersuits plus the default. I logged out in station last time playing
I just relogged but still, no gear.
whoops wrong channel
Happened to me, it stranded me on a station where I couldn't even buy a helmet to make it to a ship if I spawned one in.
It's a UI bug. I got a ride to somewhere else, and when I bought a new set of gear, everything else showed back up.
thanks! Hopefully ill get my stuff back. Had a lot of mags and med pens. At least i didnt lose my pembroke undersuit though
How mining? Havent done much since pre-Roc days
Hey bud. At any city, station or outpost you can find trade terminals which will sell different types of goods . In cities they are usually within their trade centres (microtec TDD, Loreville business district etc) and on space stations they are always within the yellow admin offices.
Once you have a ship that can store a reasonable amount of cargo, you can visit these terminals, selecting your chosen ship and buy whatever they have there . It will spawn the cargo in your ship and then when you retrieve it, it will be full of cargo.
Depending on what prices you bought at, other stations or cities will buy it back for more, hence your profit. Fly to those places and visit the terminals there. You can sell your items at that terminal, turning in a profit.
It’s important to note a lot of items don’t yield that much profit.
Thankfully , the game recently added commodity price alerts to your journal. Look at these and it will tell you the selling and purchase price of certain items, And their locations.
It will say for instance . (Microtec- Medical supplies , Overstock Sell - 12.59UEC) this means the location listed will sell you the medical supplies for 12.59 UEC each.
Then, scroll down and find another location which says (Medical supplies Understock Purchase -) depending on what the understock price is, depends on how much profit you make. Let’s say for this example it is 14.59UEC... therefore for each box of cargo, you will make 2 UEC profit.
The commodity alerts have been pretty good in providing enough cargo supplies to completely fill a C2 Hercules.
For instance, yesterday I was running Cargo with Fireworks . I’d spend around 650,000uec filling up my ship. And when I sold it I made about 84,000 profit each run
Any1 still roc mining?
Can anyone teach me how to trade?
@tired spade There are guides in the game that take the hand of new players. Sadly I can't exactly say how to find one. I think it's via spectrum or so
I was using the trading tool but I found it useless
light fighter bounty hunting was much more profitable than C2 trading. I think I did something wrong or the tool has something wrong
The commodity Price Alerts under Journal in your Mobiglas is probably the best for getting the latest prices
there is a great video on youtube by DigThat32 on how to use the commodity price alerts, its funny too.
buy from overstock sell to understock got it
testing it now
The man's mic is too sexy I can't take this no more
lol yea his voice
what are we looking at? the elevator comes down before the shaft?
ye
weird elevator
can't refuel or repair the c2 either
also can't set route
I think my c2 is a defective unit
and my ship fucks itself when I land no matter how light I touch the ground
nose up 20 degree when landing?
Interesting.. I haven't had any of those issues with my C2
I find the radar a little annoying as the pilot seat is left of it so when you think its dead center, it is not
c2 owner party
something we'll have to get used to slowly I guess
I bought the helium and it disappears
I took my C2 bounty hunting yesterday and did an HRT, oh boy! because it was not very agile, it took ages to keep the target in your view
so not doing that again! and lucky I didn't do an VHRT or ERT
ok it shows cargo full at the console I'm just gonna go with it i guess
it can take some good damage though. Also it was very expensive to repair, 12k repairs, and 8k to refuel hyrogen
yea hope they fix the cargo visibility thing, feels wierd delivery nothing lol
"here's the air you bought. 150k aUEC please"
My stupid ass thought upgrading the c2 beyond the qt drive is a good idea
wasted a bunch of money on shields power plant and cooler
standard procedure when you first fly a cargo ship
agreed, first thing I did. Haven't looked at the other parts yet, probably soon
I went one up and bought 2 paints for it, Timberline and Cerberus.
I think the default is good enough for most of us
yea seems like every person and their dog has one, so wanted to look different
more often than not, I am sure there will be multiple C2's parked at any outpost while your cargo hauling, I'd spot mine easily
good luck!
No issues on the c2 with refueling so far other then it takes a hell of a time to refuel that big ass fuel tank
Great stuff! Might do some later after I make some more money from bounties. Spent my aUEC on a sentinel
That's what I call a great investment
Maybe we can add eachother and do trading together later on
I love my Sentinel, its my primary ship for bounties now.
after I learnt how to use the price alert I have mastered trading
buy 1.8/unit sell 2.3/unit
though the alerts is abit tough to filter what you want
great ship. I fit mine with double FR76, full stealth powerplants and coolers. Ballistic gatling on nose and 4 ballistic repeater front
FR76 overclocked as it should be
good loadout. I didn't bother with stealth components on mine. FR-76's as well, JS-400 power, CoolCore coolers. I went with Absolution fixed distortion scatter for nose and GVSR laser repeaters. I got a litle sick of running out of ammo. All overclocked of course.
I miss the sound of ballistics 🙂
I did notice the price alert pricing you see isn't always accurate
the alerts do get updated often though, you see it popup saying its been updated
I went stealth just to be not so detectable, full military build can get you spotted from far away
Did see that, but no pricing change. Might be on my end though idk
I’ve seen it update it’s cool
Light fighter full stealth can hide you above 3km
You see them they don’t see you
And if you don’t lock him he’s clueless
this is PVP yea?
ahh so it works for PVE too, cool!
Enough performance for all your components while stealthy
I think every light fighter should get this instead of military build
I might get some full stealth components when I can afford it again. will definitely giv it a try
Everything grade A stealth. Besides Shields and weapons
My full stealth light fighter is 1 palisade 1 mirage shields
Full ballistics for further stealth
Don’t ever boost outside of combat even further boost
Stealth
You’ll pop off the other player’s radar constantly during pvp
Just go 1 palisade 1 mirage and overlock the mirage
Size 2 or beyond go full military A shield
Overlock
Ah yes the art of stealth hauling
I think it's too big for that no? MSR would be better suited
Wut
Yeah there’s no point going stealth if any of your components are at size 3
Hope your hull is hard enough and jump
Just equip the camouflage paint and you're invisible to the eye
I’m thinking of a stealth module where it hides your thermal and electronic signature
Overheats your ship and disable shield
haha good one, Cerberus will work will at night, but not at NB.
*well
I thought all the seats look cool too
I’m going full Crusader fleet, ares inferno, c2
Eyyy same, only thing im missing right now is the starliner
It’s coming q3 isn’t it
agreed, thats the only seat I don't want
Starliner? I know the ares was I think
No the ares straighter
Yeah
I’m very excited about it
It’ll be my bounty hunting ship or even pvp if it’s possible
It might perform better than sentinel
Longer range, better design, better shield and Hull penetration
It’ll be similar to the warden I think
Won't need to keep your target in line for long if your initial burst already evaporated the target
Dps might not be impressive but it has long range and good penetration because it’s a size 7
So better overall effective dps than sentinel
Don’t need to worry about killing the shield first or penetration rate
It also has good armor
We’ll have to wait
And I hate waiting
Yeah
Good idea
Anyone know if the banu merchant man will be for sale this week?
I would love to have one
They’re selling each manufacturer’s concept ship as well as fly able ship
says its 4.2 mil on Erkul
still beats buying 2 Banu Defenders though
so much to buy and can't make money fast enough
Hi there. Just drafting some approx numbers to work out max cargo yield on dolovine and hadenite for my Hull E.
How much Hadenite can you fit in 1 scu?
1000 hadanite fit in 1 SCU
True. Haha. What's the most expensive commodity you can buy best suited for hull e? Sorry kinda new to cargo.
I forgot what's the total SCU capacity of an Hull-E, but right now very few places have inventories this large
They will make it worthwhile for sure, but in 3.13.1 it's hard enough to find enough good commodities to fill a C2
Although even low margin stuff will be a mega payday in an Hull-E
For example, processed food is only 0.35UEC profit per unit
but when you carry millions...
So a full Hull-E of processed food is 3.4M profit
and that stuff is garbage, so... 😛
That's great, anywhere currently actually has enough quantity to even fill a Hull-E? even 1 type of mineral/ commodity
Technically, yes
In reality: no, because the Hull-E cannot land 😄
and no space station has that much stock
Well, anywhere has enough stock for a Hull-C? ^^
Not even 🙂
I lost 100k credits because I lost access to the M2 xD
ouch, free rental ran out? Timing is everything sometimes
Subscriber access to a ship 😛 I had a bug where I couldn't sell the cargo. Came back later to see if I could sell it aaand
Gone
is any1 still roc mining?
Is trading still good?
Souvenirs/fireworks are great
is any1 roc mining?
Is there anywhere I can fill a cat with somewhat valuable things
where should I go to buy the most profitable trade cargo
They say trade is fixed, so I have one simple question,
Is it possible to actually fill a large hold with adequately priced cargo, or is medical supplies still on the endangered species list?
Hard to find enough medical supplies to fill a large hold.
Even harder to sell them
Do the commodity price alert in your mobiglass
I do quick Helium runs on Microtech from one station to NB for up to 70K a trip
Yes and making millions with it
Whats the best way to transport QT sensitive cargo?
did a little snooping in the discord, turns out its not worth it lol
sometimes the trade alerts aren’t up to date
Pick up boxes, get out of atmo and circle around to where you need to be.
But yeah, box missions aren't worth the time anymore, not unless it's all you can do in your specific ship.
I'm doing some right now, but on this one the building to drop off the box in doesn't exist >.<
Ah, it spawned in after I got out of my ship.
Just bought an ROC and have no experience upgrading mining components or even my Connies weapons. Basically can i upgrade Rocs mining components and is if even worth it
No, you mine with ROC as it is, nothing to upgrade there.
ROC mining is still an excellent way to earn coin in game. The gameplay loop isn't mindless and it does require a little time to master. However, it pays really well once you have the basics down pat
Argo Mole vs Argo Mole Carbon - thoughts?
same ship, different skins. One is "rare" I think as related to the Carbon
Carbon looks cooler, orange looks hot! 😁 https://fleetyards.net/uploads/image/name/22/da/2036-14c5-43d4-a8de-26150fc48fd7/ARGO_Mole_Variants_122019-Min-9b84c52b-95ae-44eb-82e2-9b55aaab6256.jpg
i love my carbon, never going back to that ugly orange
Absolutely agree that the livery of the Carbon wins hands down. However, I would think new skins will be coming for the MOLE sometime. I have the black skin for my Freelancer MAX and love it (it was a real dollar purchase but well worth it). No more ugly orange ship
What's ROC stand for?
Remote Ore Collector
Pledge Store only until 3.14
I have tried ROC mining after some time and I was able to dismantle the rocks, but the extractor never sucked any fragments - is there anything I can do about that?
whats the best thing to trade at the moment?
DRUUUGZZ
Anyone know of a good guide on refinement? Figured out the mining bit but I figure refining yields more UEC than just selling the ore?
anyone knows a good trade run for the c2 ?
apart from the fireworks from l1 > banjini
no thats a the best one rn
i think you can bring the fireworks to microtech for a little more tho
Souvenirs from Area 18 to NB is great aswell
It takes more time, but you do more profit per run and you need less auec
When you are getting ready to collect, let the tractor bean do a full scan first. Vacuum then after that
The chunks may have been too big still, you may have needed to break them down further one more time
and if they just spin in a circle in the air that means your cargo is full.
dumbass me didn't realize that for the longest time one night. just figured it was another bug lol
I'm sure i'll forget again some day...
Full scan of the fragments?
While ROC mining? Is that a new thing?
@magic shard no, i don't know what those two are talking about. You only break the rock ones and then you can usually just pick them up. Sometimes it takes up to about 30 seconds because of the server but on good servers, it's almost instantly picking up
For picking up, you just switch the mining mode with right click and then tap once left click and aim on the rocks on the ground
Hey i have been away from the game for a long time, and a lot have changed regarding the way we mining, anyone can recommend a good tutorial that covers all the changes while i wait for the update to finish?
Use SC Trade tools and look for the deposits you want to mine, usually for Quantanium (a highly explosive element), i go to microtech or it's moons, or even better HUR L3 to mine, on SC Trade tools, you can look up any element you want to mine and it gives out locations where most deposits of that material are. Prospector is for solo mining, Mole for Crew mining, Best lasers are Helix and Lancet, both have different benefits and nerfs. There are mining modules now, passive (that don't get used up) and active (that get used up with a key bind) and they boost some mining aspects like a bigger green zone. I can send some tables if you want to
@lavish monolith thank you ! The whole refining is that done on all planets where you sell your resources to as well?
And i remember there was a issue, i cant remember the planet might be micro where if you tried to land it would activate auto pilot and then a bug would happen where it never disengages again. Have they fixed that?
As you see in the table above, these are the stations where You can refine the ore (ARC L1, CRU L1 etc) , using one of the refinery methods (below there). You probably mean the bug in lorville, yeah they fixed that
@lavish monolith yeah was lorville so glad they fixed that!
alright i guess there is only one way to learn this, and thats to jump into it with both feets. Must admit looks a bit overwelming
@short tapir yeah seems a bit overwhelming at first, but once you have it figured out, it's a nice routine.
My routine is to go to HUR L3, mine rocks with Quantanium >15% , fly to CRU L1 and refine it with the Dynix method, then fly back and do it again. Quantanium mining isn't good for beginners tbh but it was the first thing I did xD
@lavish monolith Hehe thats what i use to do as well, except the asteroid mining was broken last i played, so i visited planets a lot xD
So hows the pirating? since we have to refine stuff in order to sell it, seems like a really good spot for pirates to mess with the miners?
Haven't had any pirates (yet), but you have to watch out when selling the refined ore, that's the problem, you usually have then about 100k-500k in your cargo and one pirate could take your entire cargo when destroying you. Either have a good ship that can fight Back or a fast one
@lavish monolith oh i dont know if i have a fast one or good but i have the cat (unless they reset the ingame) and the Constellation Taurus (well the replacement untill released)
Constellation is good , has good pew pews, just needs a better QD, the cat is less ideal but holds up fire fairly well. You probably only want to fill up a constallation at max. Also when did you play last time? There was a wipe in 3.10 i think
yeah
@lavish monolith i see the game still have issues when you click to plot a course it wont do it lol
Yes F2 map is still bugged
bummer
@lavish monolith well that was pleasant surprise to login and see you have 1 mill lol
at least i can buy a new mining laser
is the Helix 1 still the most powerful laser for the prospector?
i find it hard to mine anything alone, i dont get enough power into rocks 😦
Yes Helix is still top as to power, however, the game is changed. Power alone doesn't win. You will have to use consumables on a number of rocks and in different blends. That is one reason why the lancet is also now very popular
I mine quantainium and used to use the Helix aswell, now I use the Lancet with FLTR XL module , surge and stampede consumables, its a lot better than the Helix with any other module and I can even break rocks with 7000-8000 kg of mass, which I couldn't with the helix
Is there any reason to trade atm if you actually want to make money?
Everytime I've tried, I make such a tiny amount of profit, even using the alert notifications
What ship do you have ?
With my M2, I trade souvenirs, and do ~100k per trade (with 600k)
Which is good, for a job where you barely have to do anything ^^
well with the biggest cargo ship in the game I guess you can make a decent amount
any ship smaller than that and it seems shit
whenever I've tried with something like a Freelancer, even the MAX, it's like 10-20k for a longish run
search YT for "Must Known Money Trick - Stacking Sub-Components | Star Citizen"
Is that a yes?
I'm in china, in game, must use a specific VPN for being in game that permits only game through GFW so I cannot youtube
if you rent a mining ship, can you change its mining head or add consumables?
No
How much you guys make on average from a mining run, roc and prospector
Never went mining before, figured I could open up my gameplay options
I didnt do much roc mining. Its nice but a tad too tedious, what with managing a roc and a transport for it, finding a place to land the transport, etc.
Prospector mining is sth i picked up recently and boy is this good. A prospector full of Quantanium (for which you only need one or two good rocks) is 250k once refined
and it a game of luck to find the good rocks to break, but if you invest some grind time, you can make easily a mil or two a day
although the payday is delayed cuz u gotta refine, but the shorter refining methods are a few hours only
is purchase price the price you purchase the commodity or the price at which they buy the commodity?
You're welcome
do they still? Which bounties you doing? Cuz I used to make quite a bit with the Eckhart bounties but his npc and missions seem to be broken this patch
i cant access them anymore
cuz I need to re-interact with the NPC but he's broken this patch it seems
i think some people managed to get the NPC to interact but mostly he seems broken
the group bounties are not broken
but the eckhart ones are
haven't done one yet cuz I recently joined
non-eckhart group bounties go up to 90k?
wow i've been missing out. Only northrock? or any quest giver?
alright perfect
they involve taking down hammerheads so make sure you either have strong dps or distortions that take down its big shields
Oh yea I used to solo them ez with my Sent when I did Eckhart missions
god I missed fighting them
yeah they are pretty easy with a ship like that
yea
I usually use an andromeda
but I used to use my warlock with a distortion scattergun
anything with distortion scattergun can do the trick, ive heard
@winter hazel which npc do you talk to for the group ert missions?
I have ert but have never seen a group one
no npc just one bounty hunting tab on contracts
I just get 30k ones
do you have the freelancer assessment
For ERTs a Connie with almost any loadout is enough.
What's that?
it's one necessary
if it doesn't appear you might have already done it
I've done all the assessment ones
ok
is the group one you have only 26k
Yeah
no not the cave one
is it called the pro tem certification
is it just called group warrant?
so no group warrants or anything?
No
if so you will have do a character reset
Would where I am make a difference?
I had that glitch where I had no group contracts
Gotta be at HUR or CRU
Hurston should be fine
check your missions
Hurston and crusader are different planets 30 mil apart
if you don't have pro tem then you have to character reset
I saw some trading routes at crusader
So I went there
I'm pretty sure I docked there so that's good
I'll check now about the missions
The missions only appear while you're around one of those two planets
are you at PO?
Ok I'm at the port at crusader
port olisar?
Bounty extraction mission, suspect apprehension contract, and then the usually mrt
Yes
so nothing called pro tem?
you'll have to character rest
first unequip everything from your ships
like guns and system components
then log off then go to the website
no
none of your ships will
your equipped things might
only if they are modded
not the default items
Ok unequipped
now quit the game
then go the website
log in
go to settings then there is an option on the side to character reset
do that and wait at least an hour
it recommends 15 min but that might not work
once you go back into play you should have all your stuff except for guns, armor, ammo, and medpens/oxypens
oh I think you should unequip them
I've lost those other things even when I unequip them
Do I deequip armour then too
Actually my armour sucks so idc
I need a new pair
Ok I've done the character reset
So now I just wait?
Wait do I lose auec
Ok phew
It says though on the website that money will be reset
your reputation doesn't reset
only the assessment missions you will have to do again
Ohh
Gotcha
Well fingers crossed this works cause if my auec goes it'll be really annoying lol
I've never had my money go
all it says on the website is "Your starting aUEC will be set to match your Long Term Persistence Ledger."
so no money should be lost
Go to drake place @winter hazel
On the floor with the ships
At the back there's a tunnel
what planet?
And in the tunnel there are some terminals
Ok
You can rent nearly every ship
Even the reclaimer
nice
The sickest ship of them all
I can't wait for them to add salvaging and stuff into the game
Those mechanics sound so cool
Orion when
I assume you're talking about the orion

almost any ground station across the planet will let you whip it out, NB has a specific area for pulling out ground vehicles (at the spaceport) and so does lorville (perimeter stations)
thanks
If i load my ROC into someone else's cutlass, and they store it. will it keep the ROC?
as long as I don't claim it?
can you sell hadanite at the cru space stations?
You can usually sell it right where you mine it 😄
https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Hadanite
Awesome thank you
If at a space station, the admin office does buy it. For best price, sell at outpost stations that have "Mining" in their name
Hi @north oyster I took your advice and found this discord. I'm the person you helped with mining yesterday!
I've purchased the prospector, but since my initial goal was to use the ROC, I decided I'd fill that vehicle's cargo first, to learn the ropes. I was on Ariel, and it powered off due to overheating. I played with the knobs, but could not get it to go. After waiting a really long time, it was able to move, but only for like 1 minute at a time.
I was wondering if anyone has any insights into that.
I just pulled my MAX out of storage, which contains the ROC, and even now, it's overheated
Great to hear from you! For the ROC, I would recommending abandoning it and reclaim it. Also, you usually can't lose it and reclaim it on the same planet (unless they fixed it). Just pull your MAX out on the pad then back the ROC out. They will confiscate it. Then go claim a new one
I've had the ROC fail a number of times and there is no way to really repair it in the game
If only I could power it up to make it exit the MAX :/
I had a similar experience. It is usually the temperature of the moon and the heat from running the equipment that makes it power down until the equipment cools, which could be an hour or longer IRL. Try to stay on the dusk or dawn side of moons that are known for high temps. (Ariel is 280-300 and my ROC powers down about 250 -280) load up your suit, make a crate and put it in your Cutty before claiming your ROC. Also, yes go to a different planet to claim
how do we mark a rock we wanna come back to? lol
Oh and don’t be dumb like me and leave the tractor beam on non-stop, it does increase the heat
I was able to mine some Hadanite, but this refinery seems to not handle it? I'm at HUR L2
Unless one can't retrieve things from stored ships? Or stored ROCs in stored ships?
Couldn't do that either
might have to take it out of the roc and put it as a box in your main ship
So, I went to the ROC, which is in the MAX, opened the cargo, and got the option to put the cargo into a box. Must one carry the box into the station to sell its contents?
Because I left the box in the MAX, and the ore console's got nothing for me
you should be able to just leave the box in the MAX
That's what I was hoping for, but it seems this is not the case
One slow walks when carrying the box. It's gonna be a huge slog to bring it to the kiosk...and I have a feeling it'll be for nothing
slow carries the box to the kiosk...
yeah, futile
just did my first cargo mission in a caterpillar and only profited ~120k trading fireworks, are there any more profitable commodities cuz it was really not worth it compared to bounty hunting
I stashed the box in HUR L2, in case someone thinks of something
Watching a mining guide, and it seems the author didn't take into consideration that these objects orbit and move relative to each other. The guide says to go to CRU L1, which is near CRU L3. Except they're currently on the complete opposite side of the solar system from each other
That just sounds like someone made a mistake. L1 and L3 will always be directly opposite each other as they're at lagrange points
Ahhh he said HUR L3, not CRU L3
I wasn't aware orbits were implemented. I think planets spin but i don't think planets orbit
aww
So I "boxed" the hadanite I had in my ROC, and carried it to the refinery. Select ore trading console, select a location...nada
it never gives me any options to sell the stuff
Now I'm carrying it in my inventory, still nothing
Missing the secret sauce
Is it possible to fill up your Novikov armor with Hadanite then run to your ship.. then switch to Pembroke armor fill that up and the inventory stays?
@north oyster I know you have an answer for me ^^
As long as the armor is in your inventory the inventory should persist. I've done just that, what you're talking about. I've filled up three different armor sets before, then equipped them standing at the admin terminal to sell them off
Time to go buy multiple pieces of Pembroke and Novikov then.
Also... I knew if anyone would have done this already it would have been you
Only two, can't swap more than that
How come?
You can't control which gets equipped if you have more than two
Ah.. so those two and the backpack armor
I kept two backpacks, two Pembroke, etc.
gotcha so two of each high inventory armor
If picking up off of the ground, it'll take awhile. Real fast if transferring from ROC
If only the Hornet's cargo was accessible like the ROC
Thanks! Reminder.. stay away from mining outposts! 😆
Best way to sell hadanite is at the terminals on surface of moons and shit at the mining outposts. Refineries actually don't buy gems because there is no refining to do to them
Hows the current state of mining? i havent played since middle of 2020 and getting the itch to dust off my argo mole.
The question is, why are you flying all the way to a Refinery Station, you can literally sell it anywhere except there? Fly to the outpost next to where you mined and sell it there , if you REALLY wanna sell it at CRU L1 or wherever, you can only do that in the Galeria in the admin office
Hadanite is not an ore, that's why you can't sell it there
Feel free to ask other questions in PM, i have some experience with mining
they probably assumed it was the same as any normal ore
but yeah, gems are different, they're more readily saleable near to where you mine them
122k profit trading fireworks with a C2 for 21 mins work. Decent I think?
how much did you invest?
867k
also I recommend using https://sc-trade.tools/home to find the most profitable route
I hear quantanium mining makes good money with a mole
I'm doing this delivery route mission.. first mission I've done. The pick up package icon at the location (calhoun emergency shelter) shows under the ground.. I've looked all around and inside the building.. can't find any pickup. What's it look like?
unfortunately, that mission is a bust. That's a continual bug that pops up on some of the delivery missions
The pip should always be in the vending machine for you to access the package
oki thank you
@lavish monolith I must have confused a quantanium video with hadanite. Thanks for the info!
@runic scarab yeah, the more you know, right? 🙂 thanks
Probably 😁
If mining with a roc and cutlass is the a way unload ore out of roc and put it into the cutlass? I am a noob thanks
when you land at the outpost, just sell it from the ROC that is in the cutty. You don't have to do anything, when you go to the terminal, it will see the gems in the ROC
you don't have to take the ROC out or anything
And you don't have to box the gems either
It would be nice if mining and the rock fills up that you can unload it in the cutlass and keep mining
Then head to the mining terminal and sell it all
The main thing of why to not do that is lack of persistence from a 30K hitting you. Once that is fixed it might be a matter of how much food and drink you have until you run out of room and deliver about 2million aUEC to the terminal
Yea agreed but can it be done or is that coming someday
You can unload the cargo into a box once you park it inside your ship
That is possible but i wouldn't recommend because you would likely loose it with a 30k
Better just sell it
I ran the numbers on the 3 most "popular" Commodity Price List items:
AV profit 2.01%
Construction Mats profit 3.01%```
It's not even close.
Note this was done with the highest/lowest prices in my List page.
Ship Bed Log Out - don't do it, unless you are a fan of Russian Roulette
Love Russian Roulette
LOL, then go for it
Why can't you sell raw ore straight from the Prospector?
Does anyone have links to Mole loadouts that work well for them?
You can, but only at a refinery
Thanks
Anyone got that chart that has the best routes?
Anyone know if there's a vehicle console on the moon Yela?
Hey there, fellow Citizens! I have a mining related question!
Is it possible to adjust your mining laser 1% at a time? Instead of 3-7% at a time?
And is it supposed to be completely unresponsive for periods of up to 5-10 seconds at a time?
You can adjust the sensibiliy of your mining laser by adjusting thé sensibility of your mouse or Hotas.
Gameglass Can be a good help too.
For thé unresesponsitivity it's maybe due to lag server?
Yeah the unresponsive is the server and game
Right, thank you. I just wanted to figure out if it was the server or a built-in thing to make mining harder 🙂
No they are piracy, indtability, resitance, and volatile Quantainium for that 😁
hmm.... i wonder... is it possible to transfer cargo from one ship to another one?
No
How often do the Price Alerts update? I have no overstock.
Not yet.
Every 30min Price alertes are update.
Thanks.
One other thing to keep in mind is that some lasers have a delayed response. The Helix has a 50% response lag.
Add to that server lag and you have a dangerous career as a miner
You'r welcome
I am using the Lancet MH1, so no danger there. But good to know, thanks!
What is the average amount of money can you expect mining with a roc?
Depends on ur rng for finding hadanite
has cargo hauling been fixed yet?
how will Orion work
since MOLE is a smaller ship and has 3 lasers
will they just pack lasers into Orion
more lasers*
No one know
Commodities are profitable
Once one refines ores...what do you do with it?
Load it onto a cargo ship and sell it at one of the 3 mega cities
not admin, Trade & Development Division and such
cheers
On full hadanite prob 200k if you can sell it
And not 30k
ahh right, thanks
Any idea what happens to cargo that's in a free rental ship, when rental time expires? I have about 200k aUEC worth of stuff but shop takes only small amount at a time...
Prob goes away
That's what I was thinking too.. luckily that amount is covered after one good ROC run though...
I think it’s meant to have mining drones?
neat, and would make sense so there is an actual reason to jump from MOLE to Orion based on different gameplay
orion would have a multitude of advantages beside
larger cargo space, harder for lone pirates to tackle, onboard refinery, able to easily deal with larger rocks without specialized heads
there is supposed to be No Questions Asked terminal in CRU-L4 station, any idea where?
Hé you'r doing bad things 😁
lol i wanted to give a try for trading Widow.... too bad that Grim Hex takes too tiny amounts at a time 😛
It's hidden past the construction bits in the locker room I believe
ty
1617 units of it in a rental ship, renting time ends in 13 hrs or so, no time to sell all for profit in GH... got to get rid off it and lose money :/
luckily loss is not too much... one good ROC run and it's covered
could always try logging off and on to find fresh terminals on other servers? i think that works?
What do mean if I can sell it ? Sorry I am a noob
Yes, the stations on the planets buy hadanite and the Admins at the orbital stations also buy hadanite
If you find an outpost with "mining" in the name, you get about 10% more in the sell price
Not sure what @coarse cape meant by "if you can sell it" because there is normally not a buy issue with selling gems, as far as I know
Oh. Bc last time I went severs were dying and couldn’t sell stuff lmao
what are good mining lasers for quant mining in a prospector?
I like using lancet
Lancet head
-Reiger C3
-Surge
-FLTR-XL```
Pop the Surge for the first break, I don't recommend using it for subsequent breaks.
Made a cool 10mil mining since they added Passives with that kit.
Yeah mining been pretty nice just annoying having to rebuy them each time you blow up or 30k
i just realised ive been using an arbor for the last 6 hours, when i have a helix
Loool

is it normal for your propsector to try to eat you?
Relax. Embrace Death.
She loves you so much she wants to eat you. One thing I do when it's bad is that I initiate entering the ship but I step way back to break the animation. Once it's run a full cycle, then I enter the ship. Also step forward when at the top of the ladder to get in the cabin faster
If the mole is a medium mining ship, what is a large one
Orion
It runs with a crew of 1 to 7 people
Supposed to have an onboard refinery and stuff.
Quite different from the Hulls, I think.
It's also RSI manufactured, not MISC
Can I just mine and refine for a week and then offload the refined materials or does it not work like that?
With the Orion? Probably gonna be a massive pain in the ass to do solo.
what tool should i use for finding trade routes?
sc-trade.tools
think he means right now
Yeah no sorry right now.
Right now, that's the easiest and safest way to make shitloads of money.
Got a prospector and a catepillar
Fill a Prospector with Quantanium and it sells for 5.9mil
Not Prospector
Caterpillar
so you can bank up refinery jobs at a reinfery
not claim them
and then take them all a week later?
Yeah
Couple hours mining a night, refining on the lowest speed/highest return option because speed doesn't matter, then load as many as will fit without overflow into your ship at the end of the week? Tons of $$$
Full Cat sells for 5.06mil, sorry.
5.9 is the Herc
Thanks everyone
I'm not entirely sure how mining heads work, I've got a MOLE and I'm not sure how I should be equipping it
Does anyone have any recommended loadouts?
The most recent one thats pinned is pretty good
the HELIX mining head is the best in slot for the s1 mining head, which the prospector uses. almost 100k
video
HELIX head is highest power, but Lancet reduces Instability and Resistance the most.
I run Lancet with Surge consumables to pop 5k Quantanium rocks to great effect.
thank you, good to know. the few times i try to take out my prospector, i've never quite figured out how to use the consumables...
the ore storage bags are suspended but the configuration it totally different than the cargo grid on the Hull series of ships. The only similarities is that they are both space ships, long and have people on them.
If one gets all the details right, how much quantanium ore should one expect a prospector run to yield?
I was able to get a full cargo load, and after processing (slowest time/highest yield), I have 80...units
Presuming I make it to the MAX I just put it in. Elevator at ARC L1 isn't letting me off 😦
thanks
Had to backspace
So yeah, I have a MAX parked at ARC L1, where my quantanium got refined, I transferred it, then took the elevator to hell, had to backspace. Spawned there, retrieved the MAX, am in it, but no cargo. I know there are cargo rendering bugs, but is there any way to "see" what the ship's carrying?
Well that was disappointing
Does admin trade terminal say the freelancer has cargo?
unless you claimed it, it should still have catho
cargo*
but check a trade terminal
It might still be there, it doesn't always render
Hello! I’m looking to rent a Prospector, and the prices seem odd - ~150k UEC for 30 days from HURL1. Is that correct, or a display bug?
It was there. There was just not a lot of it.
I still haven't figured ore percentages
The guide that's pinned here mentions a "surge" module, but it seems the game does not have this
Or is it that some items are only available from certain places?
I'm browsing the clothing trading console at the refinery at ARC L1. This also doesn't list the Helix mining head
@jolly bronze Thanks
Is the mining nodes back in Arial?
I use this site to find where items are as they are only on sale in certain locations, such as surge https://finder.deepspacecrew.com/
Mining "nodes" what do you mean?
How is that on one day Helium can be present for sale at a location and the next day it's completely gone?
Do they update shit that quickly?
did they fix cargo running? i want to buy the c2 but...
buy it for later

where do i get Surge?
Trying to get started mining, suggestions?
now i should get the nova... i did hear it was broken as in it has no armor
well wasn't it's release delayed again?
It's on the progress tracker
onlt ship i am hungry for is the polaris
But I can buy it with alien week on the 12th
only*
is cargo hauling a viable method for money gain again?
nice
If you're lucky

i have a c2 starlifter and 4 mil to spend can someone learn me how to do proper trading
Titanium and fluorine are just about the only thing that can fill a C2 now that the event is over: https://sc-trade.tools/trade-routes?q=%257B%2522ship%2522:%2522C2%2520Hercules%2522,%2522investment%2522:4000000,%2522showDetails%2522:true,%2522minQuantityPerMinute%2522:20000%257D
thanks will check that out
you are VERY limited with a rental, and more so with the Prospector than any other ship. First, you can make no modifications and the default laser head on the rental is trash. So you will be limited in the type of ore you can harvest for refining. The best thing is to do a short rental to learn the systems and methods, understanding your earnings will be underwhelming.
I would encourage you to consider doing a ROC/Cutlass rental. The immediate income from this is way more than the time and effort from a rental Prospector.
Then you can make enough to buy the ROC (only 172K), then enough to buy the Cutlass (~2m) and then enough to buy your self a Prospector. Then you will be on the topside of starting to make some credits in the 'verse
What's the eaisest way to make money currently?
Bounties have been "most favored" method the past two patches, that of course will change, but for now it is a good method to earn, though not my favorite
Trade is solid broken atm
I bought a Tonk so I could have something to do with my C2, LOL
Make box missions great again.
Plz.
Yeah. Literally massacred my boy.
tonk is cool but armor is broken besides not much to do with it
CIG totally shot themselves in the foot with what they did to deliveries.
mostly tongue in cheek, but some of it not
I don't know who thought that was a good idea. The only thing I can think of is they're deliberately making some things pointless to do so they can force everyone to do something else, in an effort to test out that thing.
box missions was the only good way to earn auec for people with starter ships
the ones you want to get onboard with the game...
Heck I did them because I enjoyed it. I made millions doing those.
I'm not really into combat stuff. I only do it right now because it's where the money is.
They tend to drive what the focus is and it's not "cool, let's play this ..." and the reality that it is a sandbox development and they want us to focus and do certain actions. All the while destroying the one thing that many beginners learned the game and then stayed because it was worth it.
You cant blame them for needing players to test certain area of the demo. I wanted to write "game", but we´re not in game, lets face it. We are all alpha testers, there´s no space to demand something at the expense of development. As strange as it sounds, I personally take this "game" as released, with more and more content being added and I enjoy it. I´ve only been in SC for 1/2y and as lots of players are writing, 2020-2021 are the years where SC is starting to roll. But I understand players being here for years.
Is the commodity pricing in the journal useless without the event now?
Everything is understock except processed food
I think so, obviously fireworks wouldn't be needed, etc. I've not tested it and my C2 is parked in the hanger until I learn otherwise
ok
Anyone else having trouble finding quantanium in the Aaron Halo, moreso than how it was a week ago?
Unless you have a ton of starting capital. Consumer goods are very profitable, but have a high up-front cost.
The data speaks for itself 😄 You only have 2 real options: https://sc-trade.tools/mining?q=%257B%2522depositType%2522:%2522Ground%2520vehicle%2522,%2522itemNames%2522:%255B%2522Hadanite%2522%255D,%2522itemNamesType%2522:%2522whitelist%2522%257D
can i request help to crack a rock here?
how do i take ore from inventory to hand. it wont let me deposit it into prison ore deposits
i thought the machine only takes from inventory not hand
Have they fixed the mining om Arial?
Ok. They had a periode where it was All gone 😁 thx
is ROC mining making more than quanta atm?
Quanta is kinda safer cuz u don't spend long without refining
Roc can go long time from refinery and get 30k
Yeah as good as roc mining feels, crashing after getting 200k worth of ore sucks
what do yall trade now that commodities are mostly understocked
What do you do when server crashes tho o.o
it always does lol, much worse though when you have a load of 1.5 mil and you 30k
roc mining full load is anything between 30 to 50 mins
they will, slowly but surly
Like the right bar not filling up at max power
How do u get a load of 1.5 mill
lyria ftw
35 minutes for, from the raffinery to the prospector, flying to arccorp, flying to lyria, flying to sal-2, flying ~30-40km to "the spot", searching for a quant rock, mining said quant rock, flying back to arc l-1, going to the raffinery and setup the work order for 3052 quant
do you use the Lancet or the Helix? Obviously the surge is required also
lancet
I've not done much Quantainium mining since they took Levski away. I just got spoiled with Aaron's Halo only 15 seconds from Delemar. Talk about easy coin, that was as good as the laranite trucking days.
Whats the point of refining?
So it stablizes quant? But what about other stuff? Is the demand for refined minerals easier to sell off?
Doubles the price
iirc refining minerals let’s you sell them at more places compared to unrefined. Plus you can stack refinery jobs to fill a cargo ship
Right but halves the qty so not relevant
Ok so demand is better
If you choose the efficient refinery methods, you get ~95% of the input back as refined
Whats a typical percentage return for trading? Like if I have 500k to use on wares and go sell it somewhere else, will I earn 100k? 50k?
I've had trouble previously loading up on 200k worth of something and then not being able to sell it since the places that want it only want like 2000 units of the many thousands I'd have
100k
So 20 % ish. Cool, thanks!
Gotchya thanks!
100scu
10.000scu would be what? 350 prospectors?
i doubt you are ever faced with that problem 🙂
Max 5.000.000 units + 50.000/min
I have 52 234 units to sell
I wondered if I could sell that in one go, I guess it's no 😂
Nah, 522scu
Do you think I will be able to sell in one go ? 😮
Damn
10-30% profit margin is expected
but i went to a port, and 5 of the 8 commodities were sold out including waste....
Ive had no trouble buying goodies only selling them
i went from taking 3 days to selling a freelancer of drugs to 3 days to sell a titan of drugs
alright lad, whats the top hotspots for quant mining these days
patch always seems to bring new horizons
On PTU or live?
Live, Aarons belt still good?
If you want to stick to space, the L3s are better: https://sc-trade.tools/mining?q=%257B%2522depositType%2522:%2522Spaceship%2522,%2522itemNames%2522:%255B%2522Quantainium%2520%2528Raw%2529%2522%255D,%2522itemNamesType%2522:%2522whitelist%2522%257D
More info here: https://sc-trade.tools/deposits/Asteroid (Q-Type) (bottom)
I’ve been getting lots of quant in Lyria
you just need to know where that stuff spawns
i never search for more than 10mins, for a full load
Is there a place that shows where to buy items? I am looking for the Lance mining head
damn
@crimson mantle , I don't quite understand your Ore Composition charts where it lists Ore Composition % against Probability, could you help me out with what that char is intended for?
"50% of the rocks will have 20% or less of a mineral"
is how it's read 🙂
Thank you! that makes much more sense now
Lyria
Has trading been fixed yet:?
Depends on what you mean by fixed, but probably not
Ffs. Guess i wont be playing till next update still then 😦
had multiple 30k the last days
They were saving them up during the event. Almost no 30k's during Invictus, then they start coming when it's over.
Nah there were 30k’s during invictus lol. Had the most 30k’s I’ve experience in invictus alone
Everyday during invictus till the 29th when I left for my travels I had 1-3 30k’s lol
The game's been incredibly stable for me since adjusting the page file
This "30k"...I've never seen it
What exactly is it supposed to denote? A server de-sync?
googles...
Yeah, that's exactly it. Can't fault the game for that. That's just the nature of the internets
30k is a catchall error that basically means something happened to the connection between you and the server.
Most of the time it's because the server took a dump.
hi, got a question, how does the commodity inventory refilling on the outpost go?
trying to buy some astanite on Ita
and in SC trade tool says that it generates 3000/min
but i've been waiting and the current availabilty doesnt change
plus it doesnt say anything on the storage inventory on the tsc
bwahaha stepped into the prospector...the door killed me
earlier, walking up stairs in Microtech killed me
Does anyone know how to trade? Been looking for decent routs and when i find one its depleted.
i think that they are all depleted
the post dont generate enough material to trade
even normal things?
scrap etc... i think it can be done
but the profit is really small
i spent like half an hour to get 6000 Astanite
quick question, has the 3.13.1L patch been released already? Because i noticed that cargo is rendered again in my ships. And I want to go mining but don't want to have all my refinery-orders deleted because of a patch ^^
Every time I get into a prospector at CRU L1 it kills me 😦
The character ends up inside the geometry of the ship and I'm dead
You need to crouch as you climb the ladder and enter the prospector door
hehe hoping that's not a troll. So, crouch first, then do the action? Or attempt to crouch during the climbing animation?
I'm like 5 deaths in, and I swear I've already tried the latter
Make that 6
Crouching as the animation finishes did the trick! Thanks!
I'm always happy to help if you have any issues 😄
I just accidentally put a comma in the start investment box
Like 100,000
Rather than 100000
Hi, guys! I'm in Aberdeen, with a full load of Bexalite and the HDMS wont see it. Don't they buy this stuff there?
Raw ore can be sold at refineries, Processed ore at the 3 major cities as far as I know.
Only refineries buy non-gems minables: https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer?q=%257B%2522itemName%2522:%2522Bexalite%2522,%2522itemQuantity%2522:1%257D
Is that Hadanite that these guy buy??
Yes, and the other gems from the ROC
Why not from the prospector?
I don't make the game 😄 I don't know
Only refineries buy from the prospector
oh, is that so? Damn Roberrts! LOL
Thanks, man!
Can you use more than one of the same mining buf (consumable or not) when mining and, if so, will it have additive affects?
Where's a good place to mine Bexalite?
yES.
idk if this got answered but the 3000/min is in units, 100 units makes 1 scu, so its actually 30 a min, more importantly, that stock is shared across all servers, so its probably depleted, with the release of the c2 and m2 theres a LOT of people hammering trading routes right now, most of the good ones are in a constant state of depletion currently
How long can you hold quantanium in your ship?
15mins @delicate girder
@hidden basalt Bro. Not Cool.
