Ah shit fair decent i guess
was on his ship - and i was learning
Is it hard to mine
It all depends on what you mine, where you refine it and which refinery method you use
my refinery guide covers this and the % yields
but now i have to get a cargo ship. fml
oh thats a good idea!
well you can rent a freelancer
or connie
I will have to see how much storage I'll need
not much selection
but a connie would work. expensive - so I'll need to figure something out first to afford it haha
One thing to note is that 1 Prospector load will always fit in 1 Cutlass load.
You can rent one of those for 24h for ~28k and make multiple trips.
I wish I had a Prospector! I drunk bought the MOLE lol
Oh sorry, I should have read the whole conversation! Yeah the 96 SCU of mined goods will only fit in bigger ships.
ya - and the connie can hold the 96 - so that's ideal - but expensive. might be worth a few loads in a day - just stinks I can't use my buddies connie lol
But you can look at it another way: does the 70k rent price make it worthwhile to double the value of your ore?
touche
they really need to add more ships to rent
I think it is possible to end up with more if you use a very efficient process and that station has enough of a bonus.
Its not possible as is
I thought the most efficient process was 95% efficient and that there's a 6% bonus in some cases? .95 * 1.06 = 1.007.
So seems like you could end up with literally a couple of extra units on a big load.
Unless you get really lucky and end up with 100% Agricium
theres only 1 station with enough of a bonus which will take you over 100% and thats I 'think' CRU-L1 with copper
Different topic: How are people doing with buying able to buy trade goods after the hotfix update?
Daddy wants to buy a fighter, and it would be nice to make some money.
honestly I haven't had a problem at the TDD terminals when I go to sell my mined stuff. maybe I'm just lucky
Yeah I think the issue was more common trying to buy from mining outposts, less trying to sell at TDD.
Hello there,
I am tired of combat playstyle and bought freelancer MAX recently for doing cargo
Is there any good ways to make maximum profit of it? Or any tips for cargo newbie?
The only route i found is Bezdek-Lorville, but it seems not so profitable enough
i've been strictly focusing on Quantanium and have ended up wil multiple full prospector loads in a decent amount of time. Doesn't make sense to mine the other stuff anymore.
Veid, there won't be crazy profits doing trade with a freelancer due to its size. Yea you can make money but it isn't much
Most traders will run a Cat or Carrack or even multiples of the same ship to maximize profit with little time
anyway, is Bezdek-Lorville the best route for trading?
you'd make more per hour doing bounties tbh
i'm tired of destroying monitors... was making about 250k per hour but want to change my gameplay for a while
hmm well why not rent a cutlass and a ROC and go mining then
theres alot of problems with trade terminals atm anyway
did they nerf it a bit? ROC mining was pretty good and fast in prev patch, but with current refinery..
you don't refine gems you collect with a ROC
ROC minerals are not refined: you still sell them as-is, for the same price.
ah, that's nice
couldn't check it cuz wasn't been able to choose a ship in refinery terminal lol
because the refinery only accepts a Prospector or Mole as a source
i mean terminal for minerals
oh
i don't remember the name of it sorry
hmm if you want to do something stupid simple go do some of those waste collection missions. you'll get to see some places you've never been
mainly aid shelters
now i want to feel dat trading gameplay a bit)
i'll change to exploring.. a bit later i guess hehe
well the problem with that you want to do is its just such as well traveled lane already so everyone competes for those resources
Bezdek-Lorville is one of the good ones right now unfortunately, but feel free to explore your options here: https://sc-trade.tools/trade-routes
^this guy, he does calculations good
Don't forget to play with the "refresh rate" filter (https://i.imgur.com/3XNgXCy.png).
yep, thx checking your website)
are prices up to date? i made 150k test run and got 20k profit instead of 35k
Ah yes ๐
It is up-to-date, but from the static game's files. The game has a dynamic ecnomy and simulates supply and demand price fulctuations, so what you get on the website is always the "best case scenario".
More on that here: https://sc-trade.tools/home#faq
(They won't let us access live data, so I do what I can ;))
oh, okay)
thx for your job!
My pleasure!

warning - they're long but detailed
woah, looks so good, thx i'll check it)
@green sundial yeah i need to get a prospector eventually
๐
does the ore sell page allow selection of ore to sell?
or is selling all ores the only viable choice?
where does it better to mine planet side or asteroids?
It's all a mixed bucket. Can't sell individual materials.
Anyone kno if u can eject propector material and keep mining or do u have to repair after?
You can only jettison all of you cargo when you have quantanium and the alarm starts. Its all or none. @sharp rune
Thats fine. I found a 40% quantainium rock and im 3/4 full on taranite
I basically wanted to start over
Just break the quant, mine a tine bit and wait for the alarm
Oo cool after i did that the other materials i had collected with the quantainium turned into quantainium so i got a full load
Here's a trick that I found on a reddit commentary section to get your cargo back after a 30k by the user RegalMuffin:
"It's not 100% but much more than 0% chance of getting your cargo back. When you 30k in transit from purchase to destination, essentially once you've cleared the moon you bought from, don't load back into PU instead load into your hangar, and call the ship with your cargo in. Now if you were still reading as landed it will just permanently say loading ship, and not spawn your boy in, but if you were in transit most of the time, i'd say ~70% for me it will load your ship in WITH cargo inside, when you load back into the verse it will have despawned your ship and have it ready to spawn from a terminal on where you spawn(cargo still inside). Saved me millions in my grinds back when i was running 1.4m loads of laranite all day. I found this out in a real deep dive on reddit early into my trading career, and though I've not traded yet in this patch due to having more aUEC than I know what to do with, it was certainly working in 3.11 still."
I'll definitely try that next time if I get a 30k and hope that it helps someone here ^^
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
235k aUEC worth of refined ore ready to be sold.
very nice^
i hope the severs will be good for you
It was. The only problem now is that Agricium stock is always full at CBD. Now I have to patiently sell my 46 SCU agri slowly.
Congrats @bright star
OMG, be safe ๐ณ
its been a few hours. did sparky sell it all?
Is there an issue with stock levels and restock rates or am I just that unlucky? I've been trying for a couple days to buy a bunch of laranite or Titanium and looking at multiple servers and multiple buy points from sc-trade tools I consider myself lucky to find 6 SCU in stock (500-600 units)
Greetings everyone. What's append to SLAM ?!
You can buy it on Cellin and sell it on Hurston
But I can't fin the prices.
Some people says that SLAM IS can make good cargo run in 3.13. Is it?
I need a new ship. What i can buy for 150 000aUEC ?
And i play alone so... just a good ship for me
At that price there's only the Aurora ES
You can check out https://scfocus.org/ship-sale-rental-locations-history/#sale-location
Single seaters are priced closer to 0.75-2M
@pallid temple thank you
How much does Hull E sell for when it's for sale on pledge store
$650
Hi @crimson mantle SLAM is no longer a commodity on your website ?
There's nowhere in the data where it's sold :/
Apparently they added some places, but it's not in the data.
(Which sets a dangerous precedent for data mining, but we'll see what the future has in store)
If i fond a store do you want to know?
I hope you didn't crash
I know reclamation & disposal buys it now but without the hard data I won't be able to add it in properly, with it's refresh rate and max inventory, etc.
I'll wait for this coming patch and see if they add it
What is the current state of mining atm? haven't played last 3-4 months
It's pretty good
I heard they added bigger rocks for Mole to crack, how does it effects prospector, are there lots of them?
They haven't added bigger rocks
hmm mkay
What they did for 3.12 however is a rebalance of mining across the board, changing the stats for the lasers, consumables and rocks
Its not
ROC mining stayed the exact same, so it's still good.
Ship mining got overhauled completely. Here are some links you can browse for the changes:

I am curious about how much better is prospector mining compared to hand mining
With the hotfixes the 30k bug isnt as active. WOuld you say Trade routes can profits equal to mining
I just got a roc, where should I got to get used to it and try it out
I suggest Aberdeen or Arial: https://sc-trade.tools/mining?q=%257B%2522depositType%2522:%2522Greycat%2520ROC%2522%257D
Look for Hadanite, as it's easier to mine (and worth much more): https://sc-trade.tools/ores/Greycat ROC
Ok thanks!
I also suggest moving far away from the outposts, as pinging with the radar makes you extremely visible.
That makes sense
So whats the deal with stock being full when going to sell refined Cargo? I was able to sell both my max and andromeda fully loaded all at once without running into any "store is full" issues. I buy the cat this week, spent the past 3-4 days filling it. Go to sell all 3 ships fully loaded and cant even clear 1 of them. Took me like 4 hours to sell it all like 1000 at a time lol
They definitely messed with the supply and demand sometime this week.
Time of day also impacts a lot: the refresh rates are not that big.
Yea I thought that was what it was.. they changed something in the hot fix a couple days ago cuz I never had an issue with "Full". spend all week mining to fill up a cat, Having to spend half a day selling cuz of "full stores" and refreshing is like 100 per 15mins. Brutal xD.
Can Hadanite be sold yet?
^I was able to sell what I had after 10 days. try Ariel Bezdek I believe it was
๐ค
โ ๏ธ SC Trade Tools โ ๏ธ is actually not up to date , for example I noticed that your data on trade consoles are wrong on the amount of commodities and on refreshment time. Because the servers are broken or the data was voluntarily changed by the deveulloper.
exemple Laranit is now 6 SCU by reloading on Bezdek (Max 100โฏ000 units + 1โฏ389/min information from Trade tool site is now wrong โ ) and other positions etc
I think data was voluntarily changed, you have to ask the deveulloper a confirmation.
I went several times in positions on a lot of different server I waiting a long time and I noted
that the datas units /min is not correct.
conclusion: Laranit commodities โ Wrong or Broken โ (or values quantity โโmodified)
trade today is a nightmare...
since 3.12
Patches note corrected the Trading machine but not their quantity and the time to refresh.
And you can find yourself for 20+ minutes waiting on post for 6 SCU Laranit to load in your cargo ship..
Amazing trade system pfff๐
Honestly I don't believe in the feasibility of Trade system in Star Citizen project they are light years away from developing something stable and moving in real time. completely broken server
and the time they spend on big server and good server will be in several years
6 years have already passed and we go on the 7...
Yea they put a hotfix out this week that like broke selling even more so than it was XD
C'est la SC? ๐
It took me 4 hours to unload 3 ships today that I've been filling all week.
honestly trade is changing, trading is not gonna be usable until after icache and quanta comes into the game
just doing bounty hunter missions imo
trying to earn UEC to buy ships to test/try out in pvp by doing those missions is not ideal tho ๐
and they are half broken right meow too I hear
tru but all you really need is a cutlass balck
I have that. But there are a few ships I wanted to try also
also small trade is still feesible, Diamond or Asin in a freelancer
then work too a prosp which can be hired, thats when you can make real cash
after the 3.9 laranite boom its just not been good for trading
hell yeh thats good cash
but i diagree with the statement that the trade system is far away, its already ahead of most MMO's
I just mean w.e they did this week has made selling terrible. I sold 3 loads in my max and andromeda both at the same time last week. I do that, fill em, take em all at once, sell em all at once. Been no issues, got a cat this week finally, filled that and had a max and con andromeda full too. That took forever to sell.
cat is like 400 plus SCU alone
no shop has that much space
also server hoppping is your best friend
Yea but my Max and connie both have just under half capacity of a cat. The fact I went down and couldnt even sell a full MAX or andromeda load tells me something changed
when last week there was zero issue, after 4 hours and 10 different servers at least
ask yourself not when will they tweak trading before its meant to be viable
but when will they add poop mechanics
star citizen more like scam citizen
lmao. Space ARK/Atlas xd
the big sad, maybe something change maybe not? might just be more people trading
well if u look at updates there was a hotfix for "commedities" Idk w.e they did this week something changed that or everyone selling all at once literally, with the up coming database reset
my trading has been dog shit. I was one step behind a MSR at all the stops
who trades in a star runner little shit
lmao I guess if its all ya got. I would jus roc mine with it tho.. better cashola
30-40 mins = 220k
i just did pirate missions, im on my way to being a belter
Someone wanted to steal my cutty black today.. I was like why.. its a cutty black lmao
look here select yor cargo ship click on Stim rectangle look down at the margin it's not bad, and the investment not too risky if the game crashes (30k) https://uexcorp.space/trade
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
32.98%
benefit 11.280 (with a freelancer max)
4.324 (cutty)
I would call it good trade If it was 4 times more money
what is this 3.9?
yes you need a bigger cargo ship for 4x more ( 54.144 with a caterpillar)
you can invest elsewhere for a better profit, but if the game crashes you lose a lot of money
Still not worth the time 200k with cater. would be OK
is the Aaron Halo still in the game? If so, how do you go about finding it? I hear that it is rich in mineable asteroids.
just wondering how many of you will turn the caterpillar into a C2 hercules?
i feel like a girl flying the best in show
need it gone
no you can't do that in BIS ships
would you say upgrading the caterpillar into aqulia is dumb
cuz im very tempted doing so
i mean do you want an exploration ship?
yes
i plan on running cargo on an M2
but the thing is there's less cargo than caterpillar
so it's a very hard decision man
Aquila is a good ship
The more scan range they let us have, the better these ships become
Hey guys, i'm trying to do some trading and using the sc trade tools. When i filled in my ship and current money it tells me to go to HDMS-RYDER on Ita where i should buy astatine. yet, when i try to buy it i can only buy 5KaUEC of the stuff? SC trade tools tells me it has a max of 300000 units with a 2000/min refresh time
Is SC trade tools not up to date or what is happening here?
so other people may be trading for one, stock is shared over people not innate to one person.
is the stock shared across servers too?
I noticed it filled up a little. Instead of filling 5 SCU i can do 15 SCU already
im not sure about servers, ive heard people say it is
best thing to do
is go onto a different/ dead serever region
so like america is probs best atm?
thanks, i'll give that a go. Is there any way to save my ship's location when swapping servers? Like sleeping in a bed or something? I guess not right?
I'll just dock then. I tried waiting a few more minutes, but the max amount i can still buy is only 15 scu. Doesn't seem to be increasing anymore even though trade tools says something about 2K/min
maybe that's just an average and it'll take longer for it to restock, but in larger quantities or something
it may be that its 2k of the smaller size idk
been a while since i played SC. Last time i played the trade tools looked different
Could someone suggest me some good trade routes? I've tried 3 now that the trade tools suggest me and every time there is only 1-2 scu in stock......
All the good trade routes are probably being ran by multiple people with multiple accounts. Trading is kinda hit or miss the way the data is shared across servers
Try something with a higher refresh rate (https://i.imgur.com/3XNgXCy.png) or fill-up on alternative commodities (https://i.imgur.com/OGiEvFW.png), it might help ๐
It doesn't matter what your website says, the trading ticks are broken
Well of course game problems are also there. It's hard to get accurate data when things are not working the way they are supposed to ๐
I mean its not long before 3rd party websites start dying out
Once icache begins its implementation there'll be no XML files to read of
We'll see what the future holds. In the meantime I'm just trying to be helpful ๐
Any tips on getting less inert materials? So far 2 full runs with a mole - 58k each - trying for agric but usually have over 50% inert.
What Iโm asking is there a formula to calculate about how many SCU a rock is holding of a material? Like mass 4000 and 8% agric.
Found myself filling up 2 scu of inert material even though the fragment was 60% diamond. Wanna be able to make a call to not pick it up unless itโs really worth sucking up inert
100mass equals 2 SCU of ore
Thatโs very helpful. So if for argument sake- it was 100, and 70% inert. That would essentially be roughly 1.5 scu inert
Yeah
God bless you. So simple and I was scratching my head
Its actually really easy to tell with 3.12
Because we can actually see our cargo in realtime
The Dr. is correct. Also note that not all ores "clump" the same: some clump much better an form purer sub-chunks (https://sc-trade.tools/ores/MISC Prospector or Argo Mole).
Agricium, Laranite, Taranite and Quantanium are more likely to "clump" together when breaking a rock
Which means you have a higher chance of 100% chunks
If I have a work order complete- might I need to sell at different locations or one work order will sel at one station
You can't sell refined ores at stations
Thatโs good to know! Iโm avoiding quant. Already takes me 15 minutes to land lol
Sell refined ore at.... a refinery?
No
You can sell refined ores at the CBD on Lorville, TDD on Area18 or the TDD on New Babbage
Ahhh ok.
And when I made the work order it asked for I believe output location. Should I leave that blank or do I need to select something- it inly@listed my Aurora which has no storage
You don't select a ship until its done
Ok! And thatโs when I rent a Connie (cargo size) to transport
So we no longer can sell raw mined minerals at PO? console seems to be removed only cargo
You can not
Hard to believe they wont make an api.
So we have to head to closest refinery? or grim hex?
Refinery, if you don't want to miss 50% profit
But refinery takes hours and hours to process though?
Depends. Best is dymix, which y er s, is slow and cheap but max yield. Or take something else which is expensive but 6x faster
@rich bane best recommendation is to mine, refine, mine, refine and keep going. Build up massive refining queues and transport them as needed
Just keep the queues flowing
The completed work orders donโt disappear right?
Only if there's a patch
They really need to rebalance the supply and demand before they introduce two high volume trade ships to the verse. Everything is out of stock everywhere.
What they really need to do first is actually make cargo decks work
Wow zero demand for quantanium at lorville?
Its a trading issue
Does going to another TDD potentially help?
No
They need to remove the limits on it all until its fully implemented and they have mulitple systems
So, I switched servers and/or demand materialized, and I was eventually able to sell my quantanium.
So it is not impossible.
its not impossible but it does make saving up a bunch of refinery jobs to sell at once more annoying
I'm probably just going to start selling ore until there's a patch for restocks
Well, the good new is that the trading rebalance is coming soon (according to the progress tracker at least). It's labelled as "Systemic services and Tools team > Recipe TDD" here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/roadmap/progress-tracker
Performing an overall polish pass on the economic systems, from commodity trading to item prices to provide a better overall experience for players.
on the MOLE - are turret slots 1 2 3 - 1 front under cockpint - 2 and 3 off to the sides?
1 and 3 are the sides, 2 is center
i think its 1 right 2 center 3 left @swift shuttle
well f me then LOL
anyway to find outy for sure?
tried looking at them and they all look the same -
hey one quick question
where would be a good place for a rented prospector to try mining
i don't really knnow what im looking for - quantanium seems scary so maybe bexalite, but i don't know if i'm supposed to go to a particular planet or belt or something
and do i refine it -> connie andro -> loreville/area18/newbabbage to sell or can i sell anywhere
i know there is a prospector at CRU-L1 - and Yela has some good mining I've heard- not far - moon of crusader
from what I've heard - you're right. refine, connie - to one of those places
CRU-L1 is right outside crusader so it's a quick QT
did jan 6 hotfix fix tf20? "A services hotfix has been deployed to help address an issue related to the sale of commodities."
does anybody know of ways to increase energy? i have a prospector at 100% on an obsidian deposit, as close to the rock as i can get, even with overclocking the laser it still won't even go up
is it just doomed or is there a better way
like landing or shutting off other ship systems
I think with the default mining head you can crack the rocks weighting up to around 4 tons
more than that, you need an upgrade, but sadly it is not possible to change loadout on rented ship
If you are new to the game and want a quick start, it might be more profitable to rent a ROC and Cutlass Black and go mine Hadanite untill you have enough money to buy Prospector.
hey fellow cargo runners
how many of you caterpillars are upgrading to a C2? or are you keeping the caterpillar
can someone show me how to mine and make a profit with my roc or prospector lol i just cant seem to find anyting worth my time
yt
There's some guides pinned in this channel
Did they fix the terminal bug? I dont want to roc mine if it's still an issue
Yes pls
ty
Hey guys, how are the server crashes holding up? Is it worth coming on to try do a mining run?
Cargo decks, is this the part of the ship where you can place boxes of goods? Or are you referencing cargo decks on stations. I havenโt played in a couple years. Just curious whatโs not working
Cargo decks at stations
Okay, so this would be an alternative to the terminal system.
Physically unload my cargo to a spot on the deck. Then go tell someone hey will you buy this. Is that the added gameplay.
Why is there even a shortage or compIete unavailability of goods when the players cant affect it? Like we cant ferry water supplies, ammo. ...or if its in certain commodity, like water in Processed Food, why not to raise the selling price to make it more attractive, profitable for half a day or so?
..its sort of giving us just a half package of a game mechanic, like jail system.
Does anyone know why when I try to sell Hadanite from my ROC it just says "Service Error!" and doesn't pay out?
Many people are experiencing trading problems right now ๐ข
ahh ok
did the hotfix not resolve trade terminals?
I haven't been able to personally verify, but allegedly the hotfix did help with the terminals in the sense that the commodities now show up. The refresh rates seem to be off/not calculated properly though: most shops only sell very small amounts and won't buy much of anything.
ok so yea theyre still borked
well at least they may shop up, but hell if you cant buy more than an Avenger's worth of stuff then screw that
whoa I didn't know I can just simply take out mining part out on a street lmao
and there goes the game interface
Turns out it is a ship item change bug
some assembly required
maybe dumb question but, when i refine minerals what happens to the minerals I dont refine?
they just stay in the ships storage or what?
They get yeeted
I was hoping that was not the case LUL
oh well
so I either refine everything or loose what I dont refine?
Refine what you want to refine
Can you sell trash first before you refine?
Chris Trollberts must be proud
i tried doing some trading yesterday in my constellation and every trade that looked decent from trade calculators/tools turned out to have like 3 units available when i finally flew my ship to each one
is there a decent way to make a profit trading when all the units are shared between servers
or just luck upon a good trade
would mining in a mole with 3 people be better than mining separately in prospectors?
I mean, no not really
Multiple people have reported problem with stocks. There may be a problem on CIG's end.
ah okay
Is anyone else having this problem? I have tried to sell my cargo at different consoles in different locations but it doesnt show up for selling.
Thats why I play no more PU. Everything is literally broken.
Not everything :p
Has anyone done some proper cargo hauling in 3.12? I tried doing it myself, but after half a dozen tries the stock is always almost completely depleted
Every time i land with my carrack there is only about 1-5 scu available
no
same experience: supplies are depleted, but also if I did purchase something, hard to find buyers.
Yeah game is not in a great state right now in terms of having multiple career paths semi-broken. A lot of people can't get bounties, and both supply and demand in trading are radically low. The good news is that I have had 100% success in terms of at least having the trading terminals show their stock and be able to buy/sell what is there.
Sales of Hadanite are bugged.
So if you're trying to be productive, economically, this may not be the ideal patch ๐
Prospector/Mole mining and refining does seem to work fairly well. You sometimes have to work at it to actually sell the goods though because of the inventories.
the only thing I've "seen" that doesn't "appear" to be affected is what I mine, with the Prospector, and sell to the Refineries.
lately, have had issues with thr ROC (it disappeared on me when loading into a Freelancer).
grrr....
Yeah, selling ore as far as I can tell works fine. But since it's half value compared to refined goods, I don't do that much.
The last run I did with refined ore, didn't run into issues selling at Area18.
it was small run, though, based on what I did with one mining run with a Prospector...
I had refined some Laranite and Area 18 wasn't a great place to sell that. Sold most of it, server hopped, was able to get rid of the last bit.
Do the ore trading consoles in the refinery not work?
Or do I need to move the stuff?
my experience is that they have been work (eg over the weekend).
You can sell ore for approximately half value at the ore trading consoles.
I haven't done anything today, though.
If you want full value, you have to refine it using the refining terminal and then transport it to a city with a cargo ship and sell it.
Also, I told it to put into my Cat, but I'm pretty sure my Cat is somewhere else... It let me. Is that ok?
If it let you put it in your cat, your cat was probably recently 'claimed' and so is sort of 'everywhere'. It's fine.
@vapid cairn So Ore terminals buy Ore, but after you refine you have commodities not ore, and they have to be taken to a city TDD to sell.
Oooh. That makes sense. Thatnks!
I hope that eventually it will be easy for a different org mate to handle these different phases of the process.
whats the largest quantanium deposit % wise found this far?
I am simply curious. ๐
They can go up to 50%
what is the profit with prospector full of quantanium
In the best case:
- Raw: 140,800
- Refined: 281,600
*From https://sc-trade.tools/ores/MISC Prospector or Argo Mole
Although I typically find that there aren't enough quant fragments at 100% for me to get fully full of quant.
I end up getting maybe 75% full and then pick up whatever is left laying around even if it is impure and get back to the refinery before I go kablooooiiieeee.
It takes long enough to break a big quant rock down, that unless the rocks are right next to each other, you can only really do one at a time.
Also note, slightly less profit refined because of refining efficiency and refining fees.
Less than 281,600, that is.
guys, can i stop the refinement midway load in what is ready and continue the process with the remaining raw ore?
No
Yo Iโm brand new to mining but j in have a roc and a cutlass black. What mining head should I buy for my roc cause I was told the stock on wasnโt great
If you stop the refining process midway, you keep what has currently finished processing and lose all the rest.
there are no mining heads for the ROC
You don't need to change the laser on a ROC
There are mining heads for the ROC but they're not in-game
Lol
^and I really with they were
damn, thanks. Guess i will wait another hour
Any workaround for buying goods atm or is it still fucked?
is there a way to get the cargo hold on the mustang to work? just loaded up the game and wanted to do some delivery missions
I don't think the cargo hold on the mustang holds packages yet (or ever will), sometimes if you place it right you can get it inside your cockpit.. but it's janky af
cant sell my minerals for merits in prison so guess i got to wait 20 hours
logged in after the patch and found my refinery jobs were still running ๐
Because they didn't do a database reset
Is bounty hunting or quantanium mining most profitable now? Just bought prospector and gotten kinda bored doing bounties 7 hours straight 2-3 days in a row
does anybody have advice for scanning in a cutlass for ROC nodes?
i usually use 1x at like 100-200 speed and am pretty close to the ground, pinging at 30-40% off CD, but i dont seem to find as much
is it me or new patch, but every time i load into game and get in bed, my client crashes to desktop.. help!!!?!
Game crashes, ship full of cargo, get back and call ship it shows I have cargo, get inside ship no cargo. Is that normal?
@frail burrow try to go trade shiping console i think you can still sell
you just have the visual bug probably
It happened to me again. I don't know who the genius was that decided to constantly take us to bed when we crash or log out. So frustrated with this game all these years. Maybe 10 years from now I'll revisit if I'm still alive
where do you want to end up..
Like every other game. Same place I logged or crashed
Can't seem to select my ship at any terminals when buying stock. Is this a known issue? My ship is listed in the selection drop down but it is unselectable.
has anyone been on some cargo runs recently? I keep trying to do them with my carrack, but whenever i try to buy something the stock is always almost completely empty. I use SC trade tools to find good routes like i used to do, but either something is bugged or there are a ton of people hauling cargo constantly depleting the stock.
Even some places which have incredible restock rates seem to be constantly out of stock.
I feel like they jacked with resources and trade terminals to pigeon hole people into Bh or mining. They do it anytime they want something tested. Itโs an easy way to control a huge portion of the population that is only playing to make more credits.
Well i was doing mining instead now myself. Just feels kinda ridiculous howmuch profit you make now with ROC mining compared to an argo mole
the mining is also a looot simpler because your rocks don't break into smaller pieces, blocking the good ones from view. Or worse yet, letting them fall through the map and so on hehe
I enjoy mole mining, but my role I want in the verse is trader. I wanna keep cargo moving to keep parts, weapons, ammo, and ships available for others to buy.
Has the Hadanite bug been quashed? (where you mine it, but are unable to sell it at the terminals because it's greyed out) Had a ROC last month but couldn't sell anything with it.
no clue. I tried to sell more of my cat cargo and its still red and unable to be sold because the store is full.
so I guess I'll find something else to play until they reset things or fix it.
No one needs you mining/selling hadanite, thats verified as working. Its bounty hunting test time ๐
If people want to mine Hadanite then they can
Yes, they can, but that game mechanic is OK. Devs need BH data and it smells for me pushed that way little bit.
Is anyone else having problems getting the ROC to even charge the rocks
Like I can get one rock out of the cluster but for some reason I can't get the other ones
Trying turning the power off then turn it back on again
if that doesn't work drive the vehicle around to the other side of the rock
when I want to buy shit its empty
when I want to sell shit its full
every. damn. time.
Feel free to add your voice to the council: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha-3/STARC-140047-Trade_Terminal_works__Inventory_Stock_is_smaller_than_expected_
It's the best we can do right now ๐ข
Yeah, trading space is surprisingly small
I noticed that cutlass tends to nose down in atmosphere. Do other cargo ships such as freelancer/star runner/adrorama have similar issues?
just brought mining helmet twice both never showed up in inventory
After grinding out some ships doing bounties I have taken a few loads of quant successfully to the refinery... in terms of consumables it seems like surge and optimum are all I need for the lancet. Any other must haves?
helix laser is arguably better, albeit more expensive
I have a helix, but I find it's harder to stay in the pocket during quant rock heating
some would also get forel against tough rocks
true. helix is not tat easy against quant rock
against other rocks is pretty easy
but I find the instability being the biggest problem
at 5+ it is almost impossible to have meaningful precise level control
Stampede
No, the Helix is not arguably better, look at the 3.12 Patch Watch mining post on Spectrum and then tell me the Helix is better
I would prefer the lancet.
had two trips of quantanium. And then suddenly goes red and explode upon landing. Very puzzling
How much can I make with the ROC?
@vapid geode u need to hurry with quantanium, very unstable, eben a rough landing can blow it
where do i go to summon my roc
trading is dogshit rn
hi, any suggestion for a prospector mining head and where I can buy it?
get a Lancet
thanks nice page but is this for a roc or the prospector as it says greycat
levski and PO both don't buy diamonds anymore? or bugged?
@woeful cobalt greycat makes the Lancet
Is there anywhere other than Grim Hex to sell Widow?
Diamonds, like all other refined minables, have had their sell points adjusted. Only hidden outposts and big cities buy them now: https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Diamond ๐
Does resetting your character give you back the starting funds?
Last time I did it it didn't touch my funds, but the support page does say it will: use with caution.
Ahhh, im an idiot and spent all my credits on widow and carnt shift it xD
Thanks for your help and ill give your tool a look next time ๐
Bugged
anyone experiance this lol
just landed on yela i backed my roc out of my freelancer and fell through the map wtf lol
I'm betting 500k you did not turn off the engine
i always shut off my engines
anyone else having the issue of quantanium ore breaking a lot faster than 20 minutes now? me and another player on different servers just got it. (he lost all, i barely made it back as it kept flashing yellow warning) we break it all up first, then collect and fly straight back to turn it in and upload ship
its 15 aint it?
Its always been 15minutes
15 min... yeah. Set your jump target in before mining, break up all the good quant rocks, then vacuum and split.
I'm getting the hang of it now. Thinking it may be wise to mine some other mats, not sure how much refined Q cities will buy at a time.
[When everything works as expected] the cities buy 40-500 SCU/min: https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Quantainium
Although there have been issues with stock lately, Area18 buys such an insane amount that it should still be OK.
Thank you very much @crimson mantle I notice when Loreville is full, A18 will always take the rest.
@pastel flame he had a bug, I could sell mine, but the second he landed on the platform it just started flashing red and exploded both times ๐
Tell him to avoid autolanding if he is
Gotta be soooooo sweet n gentle when our girl's leaking Q at the seams eh
FYI Tried trading yesterday on agricium. Area 18 still takes less than 20 SCU. I went back to the trade terminal ~20min later and it takes another 7 SCU. Nowhere close to 40+SCU/min
But I would also say a lot of higher value commodities with 30~40+SCU do go through, lorville in my case. I am still curious how much do player actually flood the sell allocation.
Right, those values are split across all servers, so depending on the player base there may be shortages.
Also, people have been experiencing a lot of inventory-related problems lately: there is a suspicion that the refresh ticks are farther apart than they should be. No way to tell from our end though :/
Its not that they're further apart, its just that the exploiters took advantage of the crap servers and effectively overfilled their ship with refinery orders, but its constantly duplicating, which means they oversaturate the market
Ah, then that's another problem!
What they do is they spam the collect button on the refinery order, and they do it over and over and over again until it disappears and by that point they've put 300 SCU of cargo into a ship not meant to hold 300 SCU
Wow... greaaaasy
@pallid temple Thanks for explaining that, I had heard some facsimile of that but not clear
But then as they're flying down to sell, its still duplicating and by the time they get to the TDD its basically thousands of SCU of cargo
That would kill the fun for many of us who enjoy the grind and the value of the following rewards.
It already has killed the fun
Fair, I mostly bounty hunt and only recently got into Q mining. That sucks.
โ ๏ธ We have the answer it was not a bug but a voluntary modification " - Reduced starting inventory levels of multiple commodities at TDDs to prevent their inventory from being constantly maxed out"
Was it tho... no water, guns, medpens, bullets. But also cant buy more that 20 stuff of cargo per 30 minutes
Thats a big Fuuuuuuuck you to the player
And still they take all your upgrades away every patch. Sooo good luck out there civilian.
thats it, everyone is now an Amazon Prime Delivery Worker ๐
since trading is broken
Trading is died
Im one of those ppl who actually enjoys the grind of searching for my own materials refining and selling. Since the latest patch i feel like rendering is broken for me.. i am spending hours only finding rocks with 2% materials where i use to find anywhere from 10-45% valuables.. kind of maddening.
Also i can confirm spanning collect on orders doesnt work for everyone i feel like they are hacking lol cuz i tried a few times just to see how easy it is to replicate. Never fills more than the order originally showed.
@sharp rune that's great, looking for yourself is always good. Try CRU-L3
Will do. I had great luck with clio pre patch. Was finding tons of 45% quantainium and various other valuables. And there was laranite. I haven't seen a rock over 2% laranite since i patched and wiped my shaders folder twice becuz of bug. I have spent the past 3 hours and have a total of 1 full load over 3 orders lol (3 1/3) loads.
ohh... yeah, definitely try L3. I know planetary mining can be really profitable but I've had more luck in belts and fields lately myself.
i tend to lurk in that Hurston area, but no doubt others have found some sweet spots
Ive had bad luck space mining.. half the nodes i find wouldnt scan lol. Have to try again tho xD clearly clio isnt cutting the chase anymore
Where's the hadanite these days?
I hate that no scan bug
So i think it was a bug for not seeing anything over 2% in my prossie. I changed my eye colour and now i have no trouble finding something to mine on clio xD
Awesome! Back to business as usual
where i can sell my hadanite? no shop want to take it
because trading is bugged
last few days it works very good ๐ซ
What the cutty? I love the cutty xD
do you guys refine the ore first?
Yes
and selling it now works? no more tf20 bug?
uhm the second i landed my prospector it started flashing red because of quantanium even i had like 10 min left. and all broke, new bug ?
how hard did you land?
ah ill try that next time so that might be why it happens? o,o makes no sense
ah so i just have to move slow and not break hard etc?
right but no hard landing
moving is fine
just the landing
though I guess you could ram someone and it'd explode even better
ahh :p ill try auto next then, unless changing it to lowest speed is better
is that why the odd time it would sudden go from stable to red and explode the moment I land and get out of my chair? @green sundial
I land the same way every time xD
probably
what about when it doesnt explode but just goes inert? ๐
or it could just as likely be the server derping
i think thats what it is, the server does seem to jump as I get out of my chair when it occurs. But the inert thing Idk.. ive had quantainium turn inert but also other materials turn quantainium xD
quant has always had issues since it was introduced
Careful with autolanding Q loads it can screw you
Just be slow and patient setting down
I only used autolanding once. I didnt like it xD. I am usually pretty easy on the land especially in more touchy ships.. can always adjust the max throttle too.
so whats the up with selling refined cargo? Ive talked to people selling at normal trade panels in like lorville, but it never let me sell anywhere but at TDD panels for refined materials specifically?
Only those places accept refined goods: https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Quantainium
How much can mining in the ROC make me?
very dependent on bugs/luck
if you can get your roc in the ship without issues, no spawning bugs, find a good hadanite cluster within a few minutes and mine it
200k-300k per hour
if you have to pay for a cutlass, get some spawn bugs, door breaks on the ship and you dont find any good clusters
30k per hour
its pretty varied
Great summation.
@sharp rune You can only sell refined materials at major industry areas, Loreville, New Babski, A18
so our our beloved laranite runs stil fucked?
yeah its numbers are still very low. what frustrates me is that you can buy all the other stuff, but you cant sell it is large quantities. I have a cat full of titanium that I have been unable to offload for several days now. \
Okay so basically the last time I played was when the ROC was considerd broken for getting money. Has anything changed like hadanite spawns or the storage on the ROC, etc?
Agro mole is good full cargo of Taranite around 360k
a full roc is around 230k
if you have a cutlass black or similar, it's the way to go
where at?
Hello, do you guys know of any resource to identify ground installations to call the ROC to for mining around said station? I currently use HDMS Hadley on Hurston ... was wondering if there were others that weren't hostile ... as I have found out the hard way. Or is someone has created a resource ...
many are hostile but I have not had the pleasure you have!
yeah got shot down in prospector and fined for trespassing on the other ... so trying to keep track of those not hostile.
Oh dont get me wrong I have been smashed a few times with full loads of agricium, but I am in my Cutty with the ROC now doing that and have not had a problem. Maybe its the fact that the cutty can fight back pretty good
Yeah thats cool, I couldnt get anywhere with the Cutty /ROC... the door kept breaking ... I just got killed by another player when I was leaving a station. I dont see how that is fun since your reward is prison
Do land with the door open, I have noticed that when ever I did that it would break. I make sure I close it everytime now and I have not had the problem since
hey guys, i wanna go trading but the consols are 50% buggie. Do you know any good routes without that problem?
I'm sitting on 2.2m aUEC. I own a cutty black fully upgraded (minus coolers). Should I continue to grind, purchase a prospector, or something else?
Previously I've preferred mining with ROC, previous patches I've hauled when we had the Lancer, and bounties/merc missions
Hey Yโall... how much does Dolivine supposed to sell for?
Thanks!... I didnโt know that covered hand mineables too LOL
If you can sell it, it's in there ๐
@raven scaffold At this point you have many options. What you do now depends on what you want to achieve. Imo grinding for the caterpillar will give you the most options since it will offer you the most money.
But ofc there are reasons to grind for other ships directly from now
let's say that you want to get into combat more then grinding for a vanguard for example would make sense
or you save up for a mole if you have friends
or you buy the prospector now if you want more mining (even tho mining seems to be very bad rn)
or you buy the Argo mpuv cargo if you want to waste your money
But overall there's just no objectively correct decision
it depends on what you want
Thanks for the input man. I appreciate it
Any consensus on whether just bulk mining or spending time finding higher value ore is more efficient?
Iโm currently finding it to kinda be both tbh
just curious. Is it possible to outsource refinery cargo transport to other players? Assuming you completely trust other players for the entire transport process
No
Man. I hate doing cargo runs on microtech.
any miners wanan crew up ? mole etc
On a scale of 1-10, how well does the ROC fit in a Cutlass Red?
without bugging out but barely
(first time ROC mining) maybe i'm doing something very wrong, but right now my ROC bay is full of hadanite (and my PB too) , it's still inside my cutty , on a PAD or stored : I cannot sell my ore to HUR L1 , MIC L1 refineries.
i'm not trying to refine it, but even if I wanted to , menu does not show my ship
You don't refine stuff that the ROC mines
good to know, only prospector ok
so i'm just trying to sell the hadanite "raw" , covalex (on HUR L1 / Everus) won't take it either
Prospector and MOLE only
traditional "trading station" does display my ship/roc, but hadanite is "grey out" , I think this is expected now
but why the refinery console don't allow me to select my ship/roc ?
I hope they finally fix Klescher in 2021 ?
someone told me Hadanite has to be sold in HDMS stations
problem remains , hadanite is grey and can't be selected
Had a similar problem ... I had to logoff and back in for the terminal to work for me. The shops had no stock shown on the shelves either until that.
I just hop server from EU to NA , but didn't "complete" log off I guess, welp my good Sir Tickey decided it was time anyway$
looking for work once I get out of prison
@timid hill Why do you hate it? I have found the best routes for my MAX around that planet right now ^^
When you make your work order - should you just select one ore to refine at a time?
Curious how this works - I did it all - will i have to travel to different ports?
and any websites to tell me where i can sell waht refined materials?
thats a lot of quantanium...
"insuffient stock" at trade terminal when trying to sell hadanite
how can it have insufficient stock when im SELLING
i've been trying to sell a full roc of hadanite for 2 days
with different bugs
this shit is so annoyingly unplayable sometimes, cant even grind it
Really wanted to buy the ROC.
Sounds like it might be a waste of money atm tho
my laser stopped working midwat
didnt do anything
on roc
any ideas?
Howdy folks, just getting into mining, going to rent an ROC and a Cutlass, any recommends for places to mine?
Aberdeen
@lethal wigeon terminal bug for roc is very common right now, so its not worth doing it tbh
@glacial oxide ok it seems so , I've actually re did a test and could sell them at HDMS ! I guess the cargo was bugged due to GPU crash into 30k into respawn into reclaim etc , yeah the thing was totally bugged haha
to be clear i wasn't trying to make any worth money, just wanted to try the full experience of mining/selling and compare with bounty hunting (which is way more efficent/30k proof for sure)
Yeah I only do bounty hunting and prospector mining atm, I gave up on using the roc
yep bounties def the most optimal/safest right now
but i still occasionally roc mine just for the change of pace
How much does people earn on a ROC run anyway?
Around 200k
Ok that's decent. But yeah bounties would still be better probably
I did a mining run this morning with like 20scu of quant, but when I tried to refine it showed 32 scu and won't let me setup the refinery job
Same
Can't create a refining job
if a quick consensus for ROC is "go to Aberdeen , take hadanite only , sell at HDMS posts"
what would be the prospector short answer? i've just rented one for 2 hours and I'm not trying to make huge money with Mining Quick Reference + SCTools right now
what is good for starting off trading?
are you ready to play with server ticks , limited quantity , 30K and 1hour timer despawn loosing your cargo?
@lethal wigeon Maybe get a prospector two friends in moles go to CRU 3 and mine umm i forget the name but its the valuable one
i forget a lot of it. but i think it was CRU L3
I flew the prospector last time i hired out. And the op leader and another guy flew the moles.
Im currently about to jump on and look for another op to join
You can explore your options here: https://sc-trade.tools/trade-routes
Be aware that it's a bit buggy at the moment.
@elfin cape i've created my own quick try prospector:
- get Helix head
- go Ita moon
- 5000 mass max
- take Taranite / Laranite / Borase
- refine at XXX-L1
I may give this a try. Looking for crews is hit or miss. And I wanna make more money lol
ROC : makes the most money, BUT = requires lots of work , most dangerous , most bugged
Prospector : less money but very chill , pretty safe , 30K is the only real issue you can have
I've done the roc thing too. But never solo
Roc on a freelance max isnโt bad
Hey Yโall ... what the status of selling mined and refined materials?... is Lorville and Area18 still the best place to sell refined mats?
Does overclocking or overpowering affect mining lasers?
Lorville or Area18?
@crimson oak Iโm actually unsure!, that said, I certainly overclock them myself!... would be curious to know the results of any tests!
30k'd with a carrack carrying 700k worth of refined Q today.... oof
ouchy
yeah i always overpower my lasers out of habit but after looking at erkul, theres no bonus listed for it so makes me wonder
could be just a placebo
i feel you, just got a 30k and lost 300k worth of ore while landing on lorville

I had just arrived in orbit around Hurston
If you contacted ATC before your 30k, check CBD and you may find your cargo made it @vapid sandal
Its worked for me before ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Nope, it's gone. Already checked
In hindsight i noticed that i was on the same server for 4 hours, changing servers before transporting my cargo probably would have prevented that

I've done roc mining on my own. I have cutty black and white a roc.
What would be the best refining method ? i usually use Dinyx Solventation since the refining cost is very low but it takes soo long...
Pyrometric Chromalysis is the best @untold knoll
Alright thanks ๐ also is there a limit to how many jobs you can start at one station ?
No
I do dinyx as I mine daily now and don't need it all at once, I rather pay 6k instead of 30-40k and wait longer instead
I use dynix only
they just had to move mining/refining into trading mechanics didnt they lol
I know its supposed to be and everything, but maybe a bit early?
any solid chunks on how to use mining consumables to the best of their abilities on an Argo M.O.L.E.?
well yes
but what about these magical things i shove in its arse to make it do magic things that print money :p
ofc i wanna start by changing the lazers to HELIX II's and such
why not? isn't it the by far best lazer?
is that a new one or?...
No
It reduces the instability and resistance of a rock, increases the optimal window by 40% but it has a slower charge rate
is it still capable of handling larger rocks cause far as i'm aware thats why the helix was so popular
guess i can have both?
just leave the helix for the main nose lazer and have Lancet's for the side arms
Yeah that works
diffrence between I and 2's were just range weren't they?
wait price is the same...
so it dont matter XD
Range and noise
Long as its not NN-14's i don't mind the noise XD
got a Flash QD and 2 Ramparts laying around from my connie if they stayed in the transfer (took them off) so i'll be using those ofc
XL-1 sounds a bit redundant for a Mole so ye XD
I mean you're wrong on that one
sure it'll go fast asfk but the fuel consumption's crazy...
weird... the lazers don't show up in the shopping cart
oh well manual works
155K creds for the lazers aint to bad, rest the parts i SHOULD still have ._.||
say you're flying a mole solo, can you get the benefits of the lancet on one laser on minimum power on the rock while actively using helix on your middle?
like you run to the right turret, shoot the rock with 0% charge or a bit, then man the "main" middle laser with helix and focus on that, would you still get the lancet properties applied?
No
Mole solo is no go
I just gave you an answer
You have to be in the turret if you want the laser to continue firing
ah, thanks, i had only read the involuntary explosives bit.
is trading still broken with terminals not buying?
or constantly saying shop inventory full
yup
i just wanna trade in my cat
anyone know how much a full prospector of refined quant would be sold for
3200 units at roughly 88 a pop somethin close to 250k~
Well once you account for refining where you lose a few units
You get about 3180-3190units refined
anything on hud dissapearance syndrome
whats the best place to ROC mine?
KEEP IN MIND: the ROC offers NO envoirmental protection, a Pembroke suit will be required for the hot climate of these moons
It never has
I usually equip ADP mk4 armor, when I used to mine on microtech, I'd freeze when walking around but getting into the ROC my timer would disappear as it would heat me up slightly above my armor's temperature resistance
yea it protects you against the wind
but on places like Arial and aberdeen this is not nearly enough....
you'll be roasted
XD
the windstorms on hurston and MT have an effect on temp ye
so the roc blocks those a bit
but if the atmos itself's over 200 deg's you're screwed eitherway XD
without a pembroke you've got round 30 min at most....
Ye
and your water needs will skyrocket
The adp goes to like -90 degrees and on MT it got to -121 before I started freezing again so I guess the ROC just absorbed -30ยฐC of coldness
takes like 10 minutes to mine a big rock cluster before you load up into the ship to go find new stuff anyways
any idea when they will fix trading/ terminals for sellig and buying again?
Next patch
When is that?
Lol so when we gonna get a fix to the Prospectors murderous doors?
That feeling when you can't find all the agricium after the first cracking. So you fly around the rock, and there's a 854 mass 100% agricium rock on the backside. ๐คฉ
ikr
can you dump cargo in space in prospector
-.- i was pisking up wuant when someone starter a mission so a caterpillar and a lot of smaller fighters started attacking me, so I ran with what I had, and once I got back to cru L1 they said I'm prohibited from landing doing so I cant sell it -.-
so just land anyway and it'll get stored
I'm a n00b, where do I buy a lancet mining lazer? I went to HUR L1 and L2 and didn't see it on the wall
Also optium? I didn't find that there either. I picked up the helix 1 head and surge and torbid.
You buy stuff from the terminal
I only saw a clothing terminal
I'll run back there. Thx
And optimums are at HUR-L2
Follow up question, is it possible to mine quantanium using the lancet head, or is the helix the way to go?
Its possible to mine Quantanium with the Lancet laser, if you have the right consumables
Do I know which ones by chance?
You can do it without consumables with some practice. but having a few on hand is really good for the learning curve
You can do it, but for some rocks you really need some oomf to do the first break
When I;m using consumables I tend to use Surge and optimum the most. Torpid occasionally
With the Surge consumable you get that oomf
Surge makes the first crack take significantly less time
Lancet is nice because you don't need a Torpid or a Brandt
Also it lets you not be super close. i find it gets really hard over like 125m. I try to be in the 75-100m range for the Lancet to get it done. I tried once at 200ish and it was just worthless
The max range of the lancet is 150m, and the optimal range is 30m
So surge really is all I would need?
Do they stack so you get twice the power?
I was talking Lancet 2. I'd trust @pallid temple over me. I have basically no exp with Lancet 1
What does optimum do?
Doubles the size of the green zone
Optimum increases the optimal window zone by 75%
It used to be 100% but they dialed it back for 3.12
And it does it for 15seconds instead of 30
Nice! I've tried three times with just a helix had with no consumables and had a really hard time
The Surge consumable increases the rock energy level by 40% instantly, and has a 30second cooldown
And then the Stampede is useful when paired with a Lancet because it increases the charge rate by 125% for 60seconds which can be useful for rocks with small optimal zones
I personally like the Lancet better. I find it more stable and easier to use than the Helix.
Yeah the Lancet got a bit of a buff, too much I would say
I saw someone once use something that was pulsing. What was that?
Like a extra blob in the beam every second
Possibly the Stampede
I sometimes play with my son, if we are both mining, what would you recommend for heads/consumables?
Maybe 1 of you would be better off equipping a Rime
The Rime instantly drops the rock energy level if you make a bad move and the rock's energy level is in the red zone
oh yeah that would be handy
if you do get in the red, make sure you both immediately double click. It turns the laser off and back on but sets the power to 0. You want to keep the laser "on" even at 0% because it keeps the rock more stable and can keep the green zone bigger.
You never want the laser "off". If you want it to cool down, just make sure its at 0
oh that's a handy trick
yeah. especially if the two of you are out there, both aim at the rock, look at the green zone, turn one laser on at 0 and see how it changes and also the rock's stability and resistance.
then turn on the 2nd laser and see how it changes
besides surge, do all the other consumables have a cool down too?
Most of them either have a duration I think. The instant ones have a cool down
gotchya. Any other tricks?
If your'e doing quant...
- I put the fastest QT drive in the ship i can. I want minimal QT time to get to the refinery
- Don't dock. Just block a landing pad until they impound your ship.
- If you find a cluster of quant asteroids, don't worry about how long it takes to collect everything. You get a ~15 minute timer when you pick up quant. But as you pick up more quant, it doesn't completely reset the timer, but it will add to it
So as an example, I had a 3 asteroid cluster of quant. I cracked all 3 rocks and all shards with quant to collectable pieces before i collected any. I didn't do well. Hit red a few times, pieces were terribly positioned. I was solo in a Mole. It took me ~20 minutes to pick up, move pickup move, pickup move the ship
and then another 10 minuets to get it docked
I still had ~5 minutes left on the quant timer. so I'd had some of that quant in my hold for almost 40 minutes
lol oh wow. Yeah I figured the timer started from first one you picked up.
does it add to your timer or just kinda guess?
@elder anchor if I had to guess it does some kind of weighted averaging. It doesn't completely reset the timer. but if you watch the timer will go up
you still can't lollygag around. but you probably don't have to worry that you're running out of time as long as you're continuing to pick up more
What would be a good recommendation for a qt drive for the prospector? And are any refineries better for quant then others?
@elder anchor a good QT with Quick spool Time, fast on QT and allow you to travel in staton... The Voyage ๐
thanks!
Cru-L1 and after Mic-L2 are the best for refine quantanium.
dumb question - can you put fixed/gimbaled weapons on a Caterpillar?
So if it were me, I'd run the VK-00 QD in the prospector for mining. But it can not fly across the system without refueling. so i would keep one with range (like Voyage) for going around the system.
But I'd swap it out at the refinery to the VK-00 then QT to the mining spot, and back
157,000km/s vs 283,000km/s
But changes your range from 64Mkm -> 27Mkm meaning you burn a lot more fuel going that fast
You can check that on Erkul website.
It says you can there, just wondering if anyone's ever done it
No, never. For a caterpillar, the best stay to have crew in tourets or another ship in escort ๐
@elder anchor i went with the atlas for QT drive. seemed like a good mix of range and fuel usage. Lost about 30% range over the default drive but gained substantial speed.
Are there any locations where it actually makes sense to take the Mole over individual prospectors (i.e. more profitable)? And if so, to mine what?
Due to instability I'd say no... if you were really good as a mole crew I could see laranite mining certain areas I've seen as pretty profitable. Less trips back.
But Q refines to double the price of laranite, and on top of that it instills urgency that makes the trips a lot quicker.
ya i just dont see enough large rock closers where a mole is required that can't be broken up by a prospector. and given you have to split profits, it needs to be substantially more profitable to make any sense. when my nephew and i have tried, we def make less then if i just solo with my prospector. but i could be doing something wrong which is why i ask
Currently 4 Prospector are more profitable than a Mole.
But one Mole cost less than 4 Prospector ^^
Mole is for fun and crew play. I can also help to mine very large rocs with combined power and bonus of two or three mining head.
I go solo mining in a MOLE. Most of the time I get > 32 SCUs of quant in a single trip and thats the main reason i keep using it. I bring back more than if I was in a prospector. It a lot more fun with more people though even if less profitable
Argo mole flight hud disappears at random, any way to make it show up again and not just wait for it to randomly do so?
Where on Hurston?
Good afternoon! Just found this discord, and of course the first place I go is the mining channel! ๐
do the prices of commodities ingame fluctuate over time or are they concrete?
Well losing 1 million auec refined ore when jumping from arccorp to area 18 because it just decided to explode sucks...
O_o super weird
f
im pretty sure they change over time
i think its depending on demand
Hello, I'm kinda new and I want to know what ship should I buy to do mining
anyone looking for crew to fill up a mole?
OOoo. Estimated 12 weeks for Hull B to be flight ready ๐ฎ
Solo the Prospector. With a crew of 4, the Mole.
You can mine with a Multitool or a groung vรฉhicule, thรฉ ROC.
I wouldn't use the estimations as a flight ready date
I wouldnt use any of their roadmap ready dates tbh xD, im sure there will be delays but still. Pyro system will be cool too when ever that is ready
3 moons, 5 HDMS stations, nobody wants to buy my hadanite? is this a known bug where ROC is undetected in the ship? but can't sell my Pembroke inventory either .. I don't think so
@hollow sedge This is the goto guide for mining
Here is an updated guide touching on all the new changes coming to Star Citizen with a quick and simple guide on how to do everything related to mining in the game.
Mining Worksheet:

Space_Cutlet's Video on Scanning:
https://www...
welp, that was very useless because he doesn't mention where to sell hand/roc mining, only refering to refine vs selling ore (prospector only)
and to be clear : I already sold hadanite in HDMS station before, I just can't suddenly.
but I have my idea, ship terminals don't recognize my ship and offer me to "claim" it ...
so the server considered my ship despawned (i think timer is one hour) , i'll find a way to land / retrieve it
how much do you get from mining normally
I only do ROC mining, around 200/250k per hour
Depends on what you mine
WHAT
yesterday, playing 11 hours i made 100 k only
thats really optimal scenarios
even if i only make 20k per hour that would be 10 times what i made yesterday
I would say thats the payout for just the time mining alone, but all the extra ship and vehicle claims, flying around etc adds up
its still the best paid gameplay loop so far, next to large cargo hauls
which are much riskier
go to lorville and buy a greycat roc
if you dont have a ship large enough for transport its easiest to rent a cutlass
pretty sure you can still rent it on lorville
rent Cutlass + ROC
go to aberdeen or arial , mine Hadanite only , "TRY" to sell it
so
1st step
go to lorville buy a greycat and roc
2nd sterp
rent cutlass and roc
all of this is easier written than done :) bugs, roc exploding, getting stuck in rocks, 30k etc enjoy your new life
no offense but you're either a troll or not ready for this yet
nobody buys something to rent it just afterwards
New Deal is a vehicle dealership based at Teasa Spaceport in Lorville. They offer ground vehicles and spacecraft to suit a range of budgets, across a wide range of manufacturers.
Their Teasa Spaceport dealership boasts internal and external show floors, allowing customers to explore a range of vehicles on display.
go here
its almost right outside the elevators after you land at lorville, can't really miss it
you'll need 172,000 credits
and another 30k or so for a cutlass rent
thats why I said go to XXX-L1 and rent ROC + cutlass
i don't know why people tell you to buy a ROC when you're clearly starting thegame
thats true you can rent roc these days
It can get tedious if the trade terminals screw you over and you have to empty the storage on it before the rent expires tho
totally not recommanding mining haha, only fools do that x)
mining and cargo with 30K , more like "do you hate yourself that much?"
also kinda why I still prefer prospector even if payoff is worse
at least you dont have to prepare a bunch of stuff before you can start blasting stones
I can sell it ! finally !!!!
so the fix to this bug is "continue to fly from moons to moon, from stations to stations UNTIL you can finally sell it"
ใใใจใซ > I'd recommand PvE Bounty Hunting !
approx 150k per hour for a new player
what ship do you have atm
Mission: Tracker training permit certification (the missions you have to "pay" to accept)
the next will be : tracker beginner permit certification , etc
DO NOT take : SUSPECT apprehension certification => it's PvP
you could probably come a long way by upgrading the modules on your ship, but that's also an investment
ahhh black sunder strikes again, most useful guides for mining but only for the souls prepared for the fuckery asscociated with right now, strong mindset required hehe
thank u
but i die everytime
then don't do bounties
ROC mining will do you well
I've been able to sell Hadanite at Olisar btw
but is it hard to sell
