which contracts/ships have you been crunching? previously my goto was unverified but they seem to have disappeared.
Anything I run across...no contracts
Anything that can be cracked with the moth
ah right. I was making around 1m an hour crunching unverifieds on MOTH release with the 32scu buffer.
really? I thought it was 64 total
64 total in the buffer
I dont know if its intended or bugged, but in case you didnt know, the MOTH right now can munch a Perseus
I ran across half a ironchad last night...300+ but only got the 64
Still ? Never did. Not for contracted cargo.
Idk about trading, in theory it should work like every other ship, but storing probably causes the ship to fold ? So you retrieve it folded with cargo on the spindle, asking for problems.
I am genuinely really excited to start running the chad once its fixed, but its in a ridiculous state for a brand new release
Im big on flying around the armastice zones with radar range set at 25km looking for ships further out, radar pings etx...I find a lot salvage that way
So many abandoned out there
i remember calling station cargo to load and unload hull c
The hull auto unloads well if you don't store it.
oh wait i said still in hull b, i meant if hull b allows it
Hull b
Just to follow up on this, I am pretty sure the Hull series recalls in the same state it was stored. if its in cargo config when you hangar store it, I think it should be in cargo config when you pull it out of the hangar again
It does
Your question is "does Hull B still allow auto load like Hull-C"
still as in not "is it the same as before", it was as in "just like the hull C"
but ya
does it?
Ty, haven't tried the B nor A so I couldn't tell.
oh yeah, i noticed the hull B does that
unfortunate it doesnt work for contracts
The answer is no. The Hull C abaility to ask for cargo permissions where you fly up and it starts loading/unloading is Hull C exclusive
In the Hull B, if you land and store the ship in its cargo configuration, you can purchase and sell commodities directly to the ship cargo grid. But for all contracted cargo it must be manually loaded and unloaded.
i wish the hull series all had the capability for contract cargos
Would be a mess anyway with the awkward grid the B got.
I wish the 2x32 SCU grids aligned in length would merge so you could snap 24 SCU containers in the middle for example.
This ship would truly be golden if the grid wasn't like this.
That would be nice. I love it as is but that would be awesome
Yeah its not terrible for what it is, but it definitely could be better with some quality love.
But theres a lot of ships that need some TLC
Yeah way before the hull b
Does anyone also have issues with breathing in the ironclad?
I am kinda safe behind in the cockpit chair rest of the ironclad with helmet or without i still die
yes, that’s one of its many issues
any reliable way to find ranta dung?
At a certain point the pressure is high enough that even in heavy armor you will suffocate
Find a planet with it and skim along the surface? You can occasionally find outposts in pyro that are farms and have plots of it
Go to the caves at Daymar.
There's 3 caves close together. Within 100' of walking in. Hit T to turn on your light. Left hand side.
where?
There's an outpost nearby. Not sure of the name.
I got back my first refinery order of CM the crates came back empty. Is that normal?
Its a bug, throw empty boxes away and when refining is done you get new full crates
I dont think you can even use the empty boxes can you? just unintended bloat on the server
for ship mining does anyone know if there is a way to determine the mass multiplier for planets?
Is mining bugged? i am shooting a 26k taranite rock with full crew mole and surge charges and its not moving
19% resistance, 151 instability
Ok thanks I ditch them later in space.
Sometimes there’s bugged rocks
Also if server fps is below 12, don’t mine there
why?
Several reasons. One, server FPS dictates how long scanning takes and how consistently active scans can find rocks, Two, the worse your server’s fps is the less responsive controlling laser power is
Three… at about 4fps rocks just stop cracking consistently, they’ll go full orange and just sit there infinitely
So the Pitman laser can be crafted now. Does that mean the Golem's laser is now interchangeable?
hey, has anyone been able to get the hull c salvage contracts to spawn?
My understanding is they got rid of them
They were awful salvage targets at that price point anyway
i thought so...thanks
were you able to actually confirm this statement with something official or did you just didnt get any?
I was hoping to find the ship pool in scmdb but it ain’t working for me atm
yeah scmdb is smwhat broken rn
it was relayed to me by someone else who does a lot of salvage, not first hand knowledge
okay, got it. thank you for your kind answers
So is does anyone plan on doing refuelling?
Seems like a silly profession to me
An important role for dealing with edge cases at best
Is there a way to guarantee the RMC only salvage missions? I tried the accept/abandon stuff but it isn’t as reliable as usual
scmdb does not show Hull C salvage missions. Only extra large ones are A2, C2, M2 and 890J
Probably works similar to shubin. After a certain rep level the lower easier missions become unavailable to you
unfortunately i can confirm this
If they at least made the missions profitable relative to TDD prices it’d be ok
But no you can easily lose double the payout in profits turning in refined materials to shubin at higher tiers
Then do that... The only reason to do the missions instead is for the other rewards they offer (blueprints). Once you have those (if you want them), just sell to TDD instead.
Sure. I’m just stating that the balancing here is bad
I’d prefer we had non-collection contracts to do instead that don’t have this inconvenient trade off of rep vs profits
Even if we had to pay a fee to access it
Welp, I tried to go out in Vulture + IC, Vulture can't scrape and servers ate my IC guess the only thing that remotely works is Intersec missions
i had luck yesterday with a vulture and starlancer max, worked pretty well without a lot of hiccups
I rented a salvation to toy around with and found that it couldn’t reliably pay for itself
I mean it could,
but like…. After quite a few hours
idk if it's bad luck or a skill issue or something else but I'm tired of it I'm gonna play something else man x)
using one ship to haul another (especially one known to have dozens of gamebreaking issues) is a bad idea generally
It’s not luck
You can usually make up for the potential issues if you aren’t solo and the carrier isn’t an IC, but
The IC is broken in way too many ways
I guess, but damn it, I wanna use the IC to go on extended mining/salvaging runs, I should be able to but the game is too broken rn to allow for it.
I'll wait for a more stable patch before attempting it (also I'm sure free fly doesn't help)
yeah i know, thats what im thinking, the ic would be real fun as a mobile base for extended industrial runs
yeah it's the perfect solution to the problem of "oh you've mined/salvaged for 5mins ? sorry you're filled to the brim, please spend too much damn time going back and forth your closest space station for unloading and reset"
I wanna go on and IC loaded with drake ore pods (and a golem or 2) and come back 3h later with 1000 scu of random ores
yup
Here’s some of the issues, ignoring the IC specific issues:
if you need to leave the ship in space for any reason, the marker back to it can be inaccurate, meaning you have to manually fly back to where you think it is.
If you are forced to log off, for example if you fell through the world, both ships are gone unless you have a way back onto the correct shard.
Ships currently seem to have a chance to just disappear randomly, when left unoccupied
Every bag or box you load onto the ironclad has to later be unloaded, aka it’s often more work than not using a cargo/carrier ship
For your last point, isn't it possible to store the IC and select it as a source when refining ?
So just a large hangar, yes they should work
Though I’ve had it not before
I used to use an M2 for solo mining trips all the time to haul bags, but it over time just got worse and worse with the issues that ruin my day
so true
What is the best place to mine for cash?
@keen garden thank you for the response. I’m doing the contracts for the 5 blueprints so I’m definitely low enough to be getting them they just aren’t showing consistently. Maybe ill just do the condensed rubble one just to finish it
Personally I’d just do the fee salvage contracts all the way up
Make some money along the way
But only if I actually had a vulture
Rentals is a risky bet for paying for themselves
@keen garden I will! But those don’t reward the blueprints so I want to get all those before leveling up the rep
Ah
Hi are there any websites where i can look for placese to mine different ore?
Alright, I’ve got a question for everyone who does industrial work here:
I know that cargo hauling can be good money, it is basically the beginning go-to, but it gets boring.
I thoroughly enjoy salvaging, and it can make really good money as well, but may take longer; however, it is engaging, which helps.
This is the main question: IS MINING WORTH IT?? I have people tell me yes, and people tell me it is the most trash mechanic in the game and I should never even attempt to try it
Mining can make decent money but not as much as hauling or even just running gillys.
I mine for the love of the game
It can be far more profitable once you get into selling to the player market
And… generally selling on the player market for aUEC is pretty safe, don’t bring it up the elevator until you are paid and you’ll never get scammed
yeah thats true, player market is much higher margins
i make so much running cargo i dont worry too much about it. i just enjoy mining. cant wait for the arrastra to come out.
So, how are yall making money? Ive been running bountys, good money but boring and wanna try something else out, hauling has been bugged for me
cargo from salvage contracts
i average about 10 mil a gaming session, more or less
Yeah I’ve just started doing this. Grinded to Senior and the C2/M2 missions are good money makers, A2 missions seem to have a lot less cargo. Have you grinded to a higher rep? If so what other missions can you get?
nah nothing else after that to grind for. sr contractor is all you need. i abandon the a2 and 890 jump, only take the m2 and c2
Yeah my servers wouldn’t let me abandon so I just had to blow them up, hopefully it will be better with the hotfix. Where do you sell? I’ve been using GH but is there anywhere better?
well i blow them up when i get the cargo. the new cooldown timers for contracts, its better to complete the contract than it is to abandon it but the a2 and 890 are a waste of time.
i sometimes find myself in a spot where they wont spawn and i have to make a few jumps to get them to reset.
anybody know what the expired quantanium fuel canisters are for?
i tried out getting refueled with a beacon. pretty dang neat. it does cost a lot more than doing it in a hangar though. you pay for the convenience i suppose
are the ships flyable, or do you need to transfer the cargo to your own large ship?
transfer
How long is a session for you?
usually 3 hours or so.
today ive been on for about an hour and made 4.6 mil so far.
profit/hour highly depends on how much titanium spawns
But even if your getting iron it’s still one of the best methods out there. I tried with the ironclad which was very slow due to the bugs. But once it’s working properly it will be very good. Super easy to load with the top tractor as long as you line it up to the Hercules rear ramp right. Easy to use the turret in the same seat to open the door too.
i use a hull b when im solo and my buddy has an ironclad we use when he is on.
the profits are much better when its mostly titanium but the iron and nitrogen sell for decent too
i didn't care for ironclad solo for this situation. but with 2 its great
when it works
Quick question for those who sell their salvage stuff, is the best place to sell GH? Also is it worth taking all the cargo or only the big stuff then blow it up after
Are there any good haulers I can rent at defensecon today as a solo player? Besides the Freelancer? I’m grabbing that one right now
You can rent the argo raft at lorville for super cheap, its rlly good
@chilly kelp yes that’s my go to to make some early money. I’ll grab it once defensecon is over depending on how much money I have
If your struggling to get the first like 100-500k its worth doing gilly combat flight school as mission 5 is pretty easy and like 100K plus per mission
If you have any sort of medium fighter you can make lots of money quickly
I have about 500k from salvage to start. I just want to work on my hauler rep and save up for a Taurus that I can purchase
What rep for salvage do you have atm?
Once you get so Sr. Contractor you can get herules salvages and they come filled with cargo, what i do is grab them with an argo raft go sell at NB, GH or any other big city / station and make lots of money
Man I’ve never seen an in game event before this is really cool ha
I only did 5 contracts for the 5 salvage blueprints. Then just scraped a bit. Looks like I’m not even Jr Contractor yet for that
But yes I’m excited to rep grind all the industrial professions
Can the Hull B take the same bulk cargo deck autoloaded contracts that the Hull C can as long as they fit? If not now, is it coming?
whats a really good ship for cargo hauling? ive been thinking of getting a hermes
in my experience C2 for profit (now we have ironclad eheh) and catterpillar/hull b for multi missions in hauling
hull c broken dont bother
hermes can be good but you limit the speed of atls in a way, just bit longer than external cargo or good fat hauling bay on ships (but it's good ship for combat too so why not)
Anyone know where I can find low mass savrilium? Everything I keep finding in nyx rings so far is like a mass of 50k or more
Gentlemen (et al), before I commit a CCU upgrade, is there any reason to retain a Zeus CL instead of upgrading to a Connie Taurus?
Other than sex appeal, because Zeus is art.
(CCU chain ends at Persy but I'm waiting for Railen to provide a nice jump next month)
gambling is back
Hull b and hull c are both very good for selling salvage cargo. C2 is fine but it only really shines in a hangar with an atls and proper positioning.
Hermes and raft are solid for smaller capacity.
Ironclad and ironclad assault are both very good picks that work really well for cargo but have a slew of problems right now and need at least 2 people to really shine. It's so fun to use when it works though
question..for refining the ore bags do they need to be on a Mole/Prospector for refining OR can the bags just be in the station inventory and be able to refine from there (without a ship)?
Where is the intro covalex mission ?
I've been lead to believe that you can complete (get rep for) the Adagio salvage contracts without having to deliver the SCU(s) of salvage material. Is there a way to do that?
Some salvage missions will have you turn in RMC/CMAT/Components to complete the mission, but other simply want you to scrape a ship to complete the mission. You don't actually have to scrape the ship to complete those missions though, destroying the ship will still count. So you can just fly around and shoot the ships to quickly finish contracts and up your rep
both work yes
can also refine from ore bags on a cargo ship
So there's no way to complete the ones which require handing in RMC unless you salvage ... or possably carry some SCUs of RMC to pass of as the salvage?
What is the best place to mine for cash?
That place with the 1000 quality ores you can sell to players
Yeah, as far as I know
You have to turn in the rmc if its part of the contract.
If we knew we would all be there.
I just started those last night. Scrape and turn in as needed. Isn't there a website that shows the mission list for each level?
How did this run go? It is generally crazy and dangerous as you suggest. What was your cargo ship?
Thanks, Just signed into their Discord channel!!
Thats what I said.
nah u said smdb.net
Is it possible for savrilium to spawn as lower mass rocks? I’m having trouble finding anything I can mine with my golem.
Derp
I'm not gonna get gaslit here
savrilium might very rarely spawn in smaller rocks but it will barely have anything in there in terms of amounts
golem in general is not made to be able to handle such rocks
I misread the post so you're safe.
So rent a mole I’m assuming?
This savrilium is the last stuff I need to be able to craft JS400s. I was able to collect the other materials using my golem and mining gadgets.
whats the signature for space scrap?
wasnt that changed?
Its 2k or a multiple
yeah or maybe a prospector with stampede and surge could work too
agreed with the rest it's 2k per panel or even ship according to scmdb
could i buy RMC and then turn that in for the contracts?
yes, well.. on prev patch you could, had not tested this one yet.
so, should be able, yes.
Is covalex better then red wind and Ling Family Hauling ?
Has good blueprints at minimum
nothing speaks against it
same thing works for mining missions
you won't get the missions solely for rmc for much longer anyways
my mole keep having the nose going down ...
You probably cracked a rock with the shields down and damaged a maneuvering thruster
(or popped a rock in the red zone)
Pad repair fixes it, or you can Eva around the ship and repair all the maneuvering thrusters with a cambrio
Hey, with the Vulture, how do I swap salvage modules without using the tractor beam
red wind has high pay but I'm thrown off by later contracts having several drop off points
Use the vehicle loadout manager at a hangar
things are way too fragile now on ships
no no like how do I swap from Cinch to Abrade while salvaging
I haven’t actually done any mole mining yet this patch, but last patch the mole rarely ever took damage with shields up
I mean even on fighter
Ah, on the bottom right you should have keybinds listed if you haven’t disabled it
cannons going red with a mission or two
I mean…. Hate to say it but that’s probably more of a skill issue, if your shields are falling you’ll start taking component damage
No bro
Why does everyone have to bring the skill in a discussion whenever someone has a problem omg
🤔
I mean, there’s two ways your ship takes damage, ballistics, and getting hit by lasers with shields down
My cannons get red just by shooting
That’s not how it works,
if that IS happening you should report it (with evidence)
Maybe you were shooting fuel tanks, and the explosions got you?
so my cannons are red but nothing else on my ship, right
If it’s a ship with decent armor such that most npc weapons can’t penetrate it, the weapons would be the only thing they can damage
That and thrusters,
oh did armor get implemented beyond just % damage reduction? i've been out of the loop for a bit
Yea, and then nerfed/buffed
It’s more or less non-existent for light to heavy fighters, with a couple exceptions
Just acts as a second hp pool for them
For larger ships with high deflection they become immune to things without enough alpha
Like gatlings and repeaters can’t damage the hull of an idris (or c2 or starlancer etc, large ship), till the armor is worn down
The Sr. Contractor refueling mission pays 450k
I wonder how many per hour you can do
it seem like It could be a easy way to make a lot of uec ?
why must you do this to me star citizen...why
What did it do?
anyone what is the auto route trade route of 4.8
just click the stack all button
doesnt do anything and you cant manually stack em
Just open it and wait
This happens a lot with gems
Worst case scenario, move a small number of them to another box using a cargo elevator
isn't that still turned off?
Nah, it works very well
As long as you aren’t desynced
My current strategy to minimize these issues while geo/hand mining is one 2scu box per gem
If the box is getting full, start skipping that gem, etc, and because I only have one gem type in a given box, it’s easy to manage it in the cargo elevator
I sort the boxes on the grid to make it easy to find the right box
8scu box in the back for overflow/supllies
One other thing is it feels like the geo boxes dont break themselves anymore
It still lets you overflow the geo box with the geo by like 2x, but I went a full session without needing a new box
nah even with full repair, store and retrieve the mole has the nose going down
if only the carrack could support that lmfao
im joking around cause you mentioned cargo elevator lmfao
🤔 guess I just don’t understand carrack issues
its got decent cargo capacity, its just a royal pain in the ass to contend with
ui be tweaking rn lmfao
If you can I’d start by removing the fake gems
Like the black one in the second row
And don’t make the mistake of throwing it on the floor of your ship
would remove all quality below 650 if you dont sell it (blueprints 650+ better in majority of case and 850+ keep it at all cost)
if you bulk sell yeah its annoying ui rn x)
I turn everything below 500 in for $$ and rep
oh you can below 650 because the gain are rly not worth it below that
Yup
winning 1% speed woa xD
Or comps depending on what it is etc
sell it to new players who dk how it works yet massive profit
I mean… there’s huge profit to be made on low quality gems, IYNYN
yeah crafting low quality components and reselling them
rafinery bugged rn i wont risk it until they fix
anyone had any luck with autoloading/calling cargo at stations working this patch? (aka hull c)
Hull c autoloading wasn’t touched afaik
Unlikely they’ll do anything with it till they replace it
was wondering both of these questions, you ever get an answer? also thought about just selling in pyro or somewhere else people arent mass selling for better rates
Terra mills is usually best for rmc
There’s a HUR station that is a refinery and has a decent price for cmats
Minimizing logistics
tbh for the cargo i take, i just sell it en mass at GH or NB, any of those sorts of places not super worried about getting my max money
If you want to go for max money you could stockpile a load of resources at a station and take it on induvidual cargo runs ig
but i havent tried that yet
did you end up only going for the big cargo boxes or you grabbing the small ones too?
tbh i only go for big boxes, unless its titanium
same
Then ill take even small boxes for titanium
Double handling cargo is pretty inefficient so probably isnt even worth it
Only makes sense when not solo
Is it possible to steal npc or salvage claim ships?
yes and yes
to steal an NPC ship you gotta use distortion weapons to disable it instead of just blowing it up
What about ships from salvage contracts? We managed to land one in a hangar but asop didn't see it so it couldn't be stored.
no, those belong to the system, they used to be completely disabled, amaze you were able to start it, they must changed that on this patch
Most of them are disabled, but a few can be started. Everything works, they are just damaged.
Refinery has been completely fine for me this patch. I’ve refined many loads of CMAT
can anyone help me mine savrilium in rock breaker the a lot of stones are impossible for me
it's for you then it go randomly from 50% to 0% ore when bugging, i see no point doing it sadly
Could be an issue with mineable only
I have not had that issue at all with refining Salvaging materials
NOOOO Commodity Hauling got a secret Nerf? I was making millions yesterday. Now I just lost so much money in Silicon???
prices change. dynamic economy stuff. too many people trading the same thing and the buy price goes down so that something else becomes the best trade option
Just discovering these new salvaging contracts past few days. How does the money work out now for RMC and stuff? Ive been using them for contracts because i want the rep, but are they still worth more sold directly?
the straight rmc -> money contracts are abt equal tbh, might as well build the rep
Im enjoying this loop anyway since I cant really do player comps anymore
but the ones where it also wants rubble or whatev arent as efficient since they pay the same as the variants where it only wants the rmc
so like why would I take the mission that asks more for less ykwim
i assume RMC is still the more valueable material
usually is
I havent checked the most recent prices of refined construction material tho so maybe its worth it with larger ships like the moth or reclaimer
lets see, seemingly abt 15k scu per cm rn, quite a bit higher than I remember, might have to give it a shot
Is it worth it now to sell the components and guns from ships you’re salvaging ?
Just made 6.6 mil in one hour with my c2
Nice!
how ?
Salvage
Id say so, if you mean to the salvage missions
You can exctract the components as you salvage ships
Just gotta have a setup that can hold it (anything more than a solo salvation basically)
Didya park a salvation inside it or smthn?
I think you can fit it in Asgard but idk if you’ll have room for parts
Or the rmc boxes
You can rent a c2 tomorrow
You can def fit a salvation in an asgard
So just give it a try and go for the smaller ships because you can’t pull s3 components off and it takes a lot of rep anyways
Yea I mean it’s a free rental
So worth a try
Worth seeing if you like mothership salvage
Yea but it’s really the components
U can do the shubin missions with them and the rmc
Get a lot of money and rep
Shubin? Thought all the salv contracts were from adagio
Salvation is currently the same as a vulture yield wise I believe, for rmc atleast
Assuming you swap out the default heads
So having a mothership for capacity is p neat
Was the profit primarily from the cargo of the salvage ships?
so this is valid then?
i was thinking about that recently but wasnt sure if id be better off with something like that
Where can i sell construction materials in a reclaimer? Orision wont let me dock/land and New Babbage and Area 18 wont take it
Oh dude, I literally have an entire RITUAL to avoid that
o
I offload my Reclaimer in EVA into an Ironclad then I fly the Ironclad to a Refinery station and land it there and store it
o nah
Literally my entire salvaging gameplay loop is to AVOID docking the fucking Reclaimer at all costs
However, you might get lucky at Levski
id rather die than take that semi truck to levski
That’s why I do all my salvaging locally around a station in Pyro
And just fly to that station to both refine and sell
Where do you sell in pyro?
also, you can refine construction materials? or are you refining hull material
Checkmate, but if I catch another Salvager going for wrecks in that area, I’m quite territorial. Many a Vulture has met a poor end to my Reclaimer ramming the shit out of them lol
LOL
How much if you sold as-is?
ah.
There is always a lead time in the refinery
thats probably why i cant sell
RMC you just sell directly, but its tedious to collect in comparison
However, there will probably quite a decent secondary market on UEX springing up for RMC at some point
Because people doing hangar services on their bigger ships need a good supply of it
ohhh word word
That won’t happen for CMAT until base building comes
Or they specifically put crafted items that require CMAT
I gotta ask ya
Do you fill up your Reclaimer with just 16scu boxes or do you fill it using the snapped on space
Oh I make a fucking steel jungle
All 16 SCU boxes both on grid and off grid stacked 3 high in a specific arrangement that makes solo unloading them out the butt into the Ironclad easier
I can generally fit 5-7 buffers worth
I found an Idris earlier today and got about 4 buffers worth out of it, that’s refining right now
Should be about 1.4mil I think
Can you actually load out of the ass of a reclaimer now?
Always got stuck when i was unloading
I help run Salvagers United, a large Salvage focused org… we’re kinda obsessed with this shit lol
There is a specific orientation I use
If you push the box in sideways like it kinda lines up with the space, it will bounce down
And out
You gotta use that little ramp thingy to like, bounce it down lol
Ill DM you about us, I don’t want to get the mods mad about recruiting, etc
Appreciate it
hat;s the button in the starfarer to open the interface for the fuel pods?
where on the Dash is it?
anyone got the best method to load up an ironclad inside a hanger quickly or nah?
I've only loaded it in space but I would bet an atls on the upper walkway would be good. Might not be able to see into the freight elevator all the way though
i think i found the tech method
Lol that can work too, lol. I'd be too worried about it turning purple and exploding. Cause it has that habit already.
Kinda but it should be fine
Just don't breathe in that general direction
When the ship works it's awesome with 2 people. I still need to test it out solo but I have a feeling for what I'm doing my hull b is a better pick solo.
Gonna try to rent an ICA at the end of the event and do some runs purely solo to see
Im having trouble finding the new refining ratio, i once saw that its like 50 or 25% of the inputed ore but the results im seeing from dinx are even less than that so i feel that number has got to be wrong
It has been reworked a lot recently where ores now deliver less scu after refinement but the resulting stuff is now much more valuable
Do you use a ship to get in and out or do you hop onto the side?😅
Is th euc commodity site accurate on price? I used to check regolith but it’s turning off soon
I used the command module to get in and out, HOWEVER i ran into a problem when you disconnect the ship tends to "jittle/fall backwards for a second"
so im going to load up a pitbull in it to act as my shuttle so i can do this little trick more
ITS HONESTLY kinda faster, i'ev seen people put the atls on the catwalk at the top, thats good and all but i feel like takes more time to load it?
uexcorp is kinda accurate
not with everything but most of what I have checked has fit
My intuition told me to do it the traditional way through the ramp with the atls inside but then again I never tried it. Don't own one but I'll probably rent an ic end of ddc
Damn. Trying to find the best locations to sell at obviously, hard when info is hit or miss
I've been doing that, I kinda "park" at an angle so i can stay inside the ICA with an atls and pull stuff in
its quick/easy kiiinda tricky but i really like the "Sideways" method because its soooo much faster
Any tricks i could do to rank up "Corvlax" kinda quickly?
i got up to member, and ohboi this shit is going to be a while of going to multiable locations
I've seen people say that stacking contracts works. I've never done much hauling contracts so I don't know for sure
Yeah no hauling is all about stacking contracts
rn im just trying to figure out different methods to load a ironclad quicker
So testing the little argo ships,
The argo cargo literally cant take off its like fucking glued to the hanger
So this is "fun"
you get hard locked in the tractor, cant use the little beam at the front and you cant raise landing gear since they dont exsist?
I read somewhere that this is a brand new bug
How good is salvation? Can It salvage anything, just limited by speed? I have ironclad, so I could use it as mobile storage.
So either I get it as upgrade from my referal or I save from hauling missions enough for fortune
Yep and the mpuv tractor is also fucked.
Can't raise landing gear/lower, front tractor doesn't work,
YOU CANT EXIT THE VEHICLE after getting inside it
It's Uber fucked
Would have been perfect for the ic
Even more since you can put the atls beam onto the mpuv lol
Anyone know if the following are minable with a Golem or a rented Prospector?
Aslarite
Riccite
Taranite
For now, id say so
if you're lucky and get low mass ones then yeah but generally no
you can find aslarite as a byproduct from some other asteroids thoguh
Do you know which asteroid types and where?
need to mine some high end ore for crafting guns, golem do the job or do I need a prospector?
Golem and prospector are both power limited about the same, with the prospector being able to go a little higher
They’re both great for more basic materials, like corundum/copper/iron/heph, and struggle with more exotic materials like taranite/gold/riccite/savr/stileron/quant etc
ahh right, but should be fine in the low quanties?
literally need like 5 SCU
not sure what mods to put on it, got a rieger C3 at the moment, but im seeing conflicting things like focus and surge being good
Yes
Modules are tools, focus doesn’t let you break bigger rocks, it makes rocks easier to break
Surge does let you break bigger rocks, but the time restriction it adds can make it harder to manage
so just have two reiger C3s?
Modules should be thought of as tools that you can swap around
Bring a variety
Swap them on the go as needed
gotcha
2 reigers gives you the highest passive laser power, but doesn’t help in any other way that other modules might, etc
on a golem I tend to use surge stampede as a baseline
Any tips or tricks for quickly getting through Contractor with Adagio? I dont care for profit/loss, just trying to rep up
Pay fee break ship go next
Yeah, fair. Was hoping there was some system that didnt always have contracts 80gm away
It can scrape anything but cracking ships...i have no idea. Make sure you upgrade the heads with abrades.
fucking ikr?
Do we need if theres a spectrumpost/issue council post about the MPUV and other argo ships being beyond buggy/broken rn?
there is already one, STARC-204086
ty ty
Made a few contributions to some posts i saw on the main page including the MPUV
i really wonder how issues like that even happen
So this is a weird one
I bought and equipped an abrade scraper module on my fortune. I had an issue so had to claim it (did insure it with the new loadout). Didn't come with an abrade???? wtf
If server is desyncing, it might not have recognized the new loadout. Did it give you the old attachment you replaced with Abrade or did it just come empty/
the old default one (cinch)
Yeah it probably desynced your insurance claim
has your server been having other issues lately?
This isn't really what I was asking. You can just join a server that immediately starts down the crapper. Was there other issues going on indicating the server was under duress? Cause they've been heavily fluctuating between "mostly playable" to "nothing works at all" for days now in my experience.
freight elevators not working, asops broken, contracts buggy, etc.
all caused by server dying
Not really. I had a minor inventory glitch, at first but it's one that's been there forever.
what about in global though, was there a lot of people complaining stuff broke?
Ive had full moth buffers zeroed out after storing
fair enough me too 🤣
well I would recommend swapping regions to get a hopefully fresh server, just to be safe
I’ve had fuel reset on retrieval before on other servers
Ok I’ll finish these 2 working salvage missions then swap and try after clearing buffer to claim it and see if it was just the claim that bugged or what
All these issues are interconnected imo...i mean my salvation comes up with a full buffer evertime I call it.
A friend was letting me fly his mole back, and when he called for landing in copilot and I landed it….. it caused it to go into MY INVENTORY and MY PERSEUS TO LOAD IN HIS HANGAR (medium)
Theres a video where someone called up the m80...and it arrived in the hangar...in quantum...then it crashed and wrecked into the hangar door
Its hilarious
How do i finisha small hand mining purchase order?
I have sold gems at the trading screen, ive put them in the freight elevator, Ive used small quantities and big quantities.. nothing seems to work
Are you getting the mission popup when you put the gems into the freight elevator?
It has like a quantity screen that you confirm when you send them down.
nope, no popup at all
Are you sure you're depositing the gems at the right location then?
Yes, I am at the right location. Double checked
I guess it might just be the server.. will try again another time
with the salvage missions, is it worth taking the colossus bombs to sell at a store? or just taking up extra space
So on insure page this is what I see:
I don't even see the abrade on the list of modules
If there was supposed to be a screenshot, it didnt get posted
Might be one of the bugs they are working on
also have to make sure you get the little greencheck after you insure
ive had it fail (no idea why) and give an X
TIME to go do 10 member rank missions
I got a green checkmark.just doesn't show it in the modules to be insured.
I’d estimate roughly one mission per “system” fails in this way for me
Send the box down, move gems out of box to elevator, up down it, it eats the gems and doesn’t complete
sometimes the mission randomly completes when I leave the system to go to the next one
Has anyone made it to Veteran contractor for salvage yet? Any difference to Sr. Contractor
i gave up hauling after losing my ship to atc game yet again, a ship SPAWNING in my hangar (ofc ironclad too so its doomed), crate not spawning with missions (missing 4scu crate hello trade center ?), 0 missions between docking station idk why
at least tractor beam work well now (its less bad than before but atls still better), atls got nerfed with rotation speed on hitself im faster with ship tractor beam secret
and ofc autoloading gambling was nerfed on big ships so dont expect good ROI so you can gamble even more (15M to get 3M lmao)
I mean
Autoloading commodities has been a gamble for quite a few patches now
More often than not it stacks a dozen boxes in one square
Atls wasn’t nerfed afaik
Instead maxlift and multitool was buffed
Using the IC, knowing it’s broken, and then being surprised when it doesn’t work is a choice
that took a while aaa
I need to do i think another 10 or 13 member missions to get into experience this is so painful
And you can’t just stack 30 of them anymore
from my understanding there's no new missions after senior
but that's just what ive been told
Ty
Also any tips on docking/refining/selling with the reclaimer. Weve been to 3 different stations and cant find the dock and those we can find dont have a refinery
i think the uex website can be used to filter to locations that you can dock a reclaimer at and have a refinery
Levski
Dump into external elevator
any tips for atlas geo mining? i.e., what to look for or where to go? any recommendations
Feynmaline is risky
So slow down when mining it
Everything else you can set the laser to 75% and have multiple rocks cooking at once
I don’t geomine on a shard with less than 10 fps, any lower and it takes long enough to scan that the rock is in the red before you see its stats
As for location, any Stanton or pyro moon is fine, but prefer locations that don’t have harvestables so there’s less junk frequency hits
thanks for the advice o7
Don’t forget to set your laser power to high or low depending on the rock size
Hand minables need low or you’ll overpower them
And… at lower fps, simply lower your laser power, as a new miner 60.% would be a safer starting point
Move it up when comfortable
o7
Weird CCU and fleet advice just vanished
Thinking about picking up a Golem with store credit to use with my Polaris for deep space mining. Will a prospector fit, and if so would I be better off grabbing that?
Nvm, prospector isn’t on sale
Still there for me
And it won’t fit
Too tall iirc
I must have changed a setting if I don't have unread messages it's not showing channels
Click the down arrow on the category
Thx
Oh! I didn’t realize that. But that’s what I get for trusting google ai. I guess golem is the way to go then.
can yall help me figure out how to get to the aaron halo, try as i might i can figure it out lol
from crusader*
Go to the selo wikelo station
It’s in the Aaron halo
That distance from the crusader orbit line works all the way around
So use the crusader-selo distance, pick a location and drop out of qt at that measurement?
wdym crusade orbit line?
I think, although they seem fixed on the map, there is a literal line mapping out their orbit. You measure from that point to Selo. I’m just guessing mind you
o/ is there a known reason/fix for Grimhex admin not seeing my c2 cargo grid commodities ? i already sold one time some hours ago, but it doesn't see my haul atm.
Have you tried raising and then storing your ship again? In theory that should reset what the terminal sees.
yea i tried that before logging out. i'll retry on another server (just tried ,it sees 0, will try to spawn/store again)
i got nothing offgrid
Sometimes if I'm at say, Tressler, I'll see a couple crates floating around from someone crashing- I'd usually send em down an external freight elevator for a couple extra bucks but that seems to not be working in 4.8- elevator just says it's blocked.
Did they change the way external freight and/or commodities work? Likewise I took a salvage mission, and normally I keep all the components on my ship and send em down the internal elevator which works- but those same weapons on external aren't allowed. Trying to figure out what the difference is.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but it doesn't feel like the wrong place lol.
New to mining. What do I refine and what do I sell raw? Any tips?
FEs seem like they’ve been bugged all to hell this patch. Hopefully it’s addressed in the hotfix. Same with ships not respawning. I’ll go to a planetary pickup and there’s o where to land, because the elevator is busted.
I also noticed I can’t clear the pad with torpedos lol
Okay, so it's not currently expected behavior in that case? Wasn't sure if I missed something in the patch notes
As far as I know
What is everyone doing with their IC? I find it really time consuming to do hauling contracts for only 600k. I've been doing salvaging with the Ironclad and make about 2.7-3mil an hour mostly off the cargo but I still feel like there is room for more profit as I barely scratch the SCU limit on the IC.
I know commodity trading is kind of dead but is there any good routes? everywhere I look it always looks way too risky for the low profits.
okay i'm a noob here, i don't know if these are bugs or a fundamental misunderstanding on my end:
-rented a cutlass black
-wanted to "stack"? some planetary hauling missions, took 5 that were all on the same pickup spot (awesome)
-docked at hangar
-no cargo on elevator??
-abandoned missions
-accepted new planetary hauling missions
-land at new hangar
-nothing on freight elevator again???
did you go into cargo elevator terminal and bring them up? or they werent in the terminal at all? @weary idol
The thing about good routes, is that they fall in to one of two categories.
-
The ROI is high, but you can't sell cuz everyone and their grandmother's dog is running the same damn thing.
-
The ROI isn't terrible, and nobody will say a damn thing for fear of losing their lunch ticket.
Ah I gotcha, don't blame people I suppose lol.
they were not in the terminal at all, i even tried sending the elevator up and down
So I’m debating on it: would the MPUV-Tractor be useful loading and unloading the Polaris both in space and in the ground? The overhang, long ramps and 8SCU Tall opening make me wonder. I don’t mind if I need to reorganize things with a Maxlift as a second stage of loading. I primarily expect to be dealing with scavenged cargo from HullC salvage missions and Drake ore pods.
each to their own. i always have an mpuv i my polaris hangar. or rather used to, since atm it seems buged and once you climb on board the mpuv, u aint getting out anymore. so i currently have it tucked away in a hangar.
Oh, didn’t know it was bugged. Useful otherwise?
I dump my stuff into an Ironclad in EVA
Then land the Ironclad, store and refine
good luck
Hull c isn't in the rotation for salvage missions this patch
I'm a bit confused on how the size ore is being packed per box if a mission needs 1 SCU what is that 1.2T ?
Not even unverified? That’s a shame. Was one of the better (and more immersive imo) moneymakers
Nope it's gone. I'm pretty sure the unverified contracts are also gone. At least I didn't see them on scmdb when I looked
I will bring up 4 SCU of iron and it keeps me like 4 boxes of 4 SCU size boxes
Guess mining broken up by scrip farming or interstellar cargo it is! Thanks for the heads up!
You bet
Fleet salvage/mining with either golem or salvation as snubs.
Any chance auto-unloading ships is working this patch?
It works for me.
But I've never had an issue with it
Unless you mean for contracts, I have no idea about that
Worked for me
On those salvage contracts which require you to do one SCU of RMC can you fake it on a non-salvage ship by carrying a bunch of RMC on your non-salvage ship?
Depends on the ore, different ores have different densities. That said the tonnage usually isn’t that important given it gives you the amount of scu you’ll get as a percentage anyway when you look at the rock with a mining ship
Yes
It doesn’t care where you get the rmc
(Except it can’t be stolen if the turnin is an external elevator)
So I can use stolen in some case I take it. Interesting.
Not a desync issue as suggested, its just not an item that get insured on the Fortune for some reason
seems to be the same for the few people I know that have used one
very irritating
Wow that sucks big time, I love the fortune but I guess I'm not buying on anytime soon
Someone beat me to posting an issue council report about it but theres not any contributions yet
HI guys can i ask whats the average amount of SCU majority of hauling missions carry?
from the rookie to master rank
400?
It varies wildly depending on the mission, from 5-6 SCU to thousands. I would pick a ship that you like to haul with, and target hauling missions that are about on-par with your ships capacity
are unverified salvage missions disabled?
They gone this patch
I don't know what that is so can't say
big salvage mission (4 ships) chance of drugs in cargo and whatnot
Oh gotcha. Cargo ships spawn in the verified missions.
Gotta be Sr contractor to see em
I only do it for the cargo. I'm gonna salvage when I can get a moth but it's just not as cost effective
I do need to get a vulture for rmc though for my org.
Wake has been gone for a long time
I see 3 sets of the GSX-EX but their descriptions are the same but prices aren't are they the same?
Can I still advance salvage rep rapidly by buying claims and blowing them up, or was that patched? I know I can’t get Hull C missions, but picking up cargo on the way is decent money.
You can
I use an Alt to bring ships to the Reclaimer. Tar Pits missions gone. Solo you can leave Reclaimer by a known point, backspace to free fly, fly a ship out to the other ship.
So for solo mining , prospector is the best choice??
I heard of people "buying" cargo to make profit. How does that work? Do you buy cargo, drive it to somewhere else and make money from it? I thought there are only hauling quests
Commodity trading
Yes you buy resources and then go somewhere to sell them to higher price
High profit but high risk ( depends on route)
Probably better profit but also way higher risk, right?
.
Is there a website or something for routes and knowing where to buy/sell? :D
TY!
You also need to think about a restock or overflow
Depends how many resources they have
Which ship you gonna use?
Idk yet, Im grinding for one I can buy with AUEC :D
Probably small routes at the start
Yes you need to have the same size of boxes that stations/ outposts will support
Then better to do stacking contracts
What's your pledge ship?
Or which ship do you have currently?
For example, from port tesler to NB , you can grab 6-7 contracts
But yeah, depends on the ship if he can fit everything
For trading, if more money you give = then more profit you have
M80 and Wolf 21
I have a quick question for yall industrious peoples
If my brother owns a mole, and we go mine, then once everything is refined, and we load all the cargo into my C2, will that break things as far as selling is concerned? or will it all be fine given that cargo is now manual with cargo elevators etc
basically, will it make things much more difficult with one person owning the MOLE and the 2nd person owning the cargo ship?
Not as long as the two of you are in party.
If the party is disbanded while the cargo is in your ship, it'll be labelled as stolen.
okay awesome!
some of you mole miners, what loadout are you using?
atm I am using
Helix 2 with 2 stampede 1 surge
Hofsted 2 with 2 focus 3
impact with 2 torrent 3 2x and 1 rieger c3
I wonder what you guys run with to try some builds before I craft my lasers.
I got the blueprits to make the size 2 lasers.
Can you buy Hermes now ? Is it in-game store ?
Do people still bring salvage ships back to their hangar and strip them for RMC/CM or did CIG make it so you can't use salvage in hangars because it was bad for performance?
No we do it out in space
Well, assuming I had an infinite source of NPC ships I could bring to my hangar, would I be able to salvage in my hangar?
Sounds tedious
@spare cloud I saw you just answered that MOLE question an hour ago with some good insight- is that the explanation to the first half of my question here? Is cargo generated by a player not in your party marked stolen by default?
They fixed that forever ago I think
Whats the fix, do salvage beams just not work in hangars or something?
Players are leaving destroyed contract ships without salvaging the wrecks just to get to higher reps.
Plenty of free $
Honestly they should make the rep only for the turn in missions and not for the ships that you pay for
I don't think its very easy now with soft death removed from the game to locate NPC ship wrecks.
You'd be surprised. Just roaming around the outside of the armastice zone near a station. Youll find wrecks and leftover cargo
Ive gone to my own contract locations to find a junkyard of ship sections
I don't think there are many NPC ships outside of stations. Probably abandoned player ships.
Ships left from salvage contacts is what he means I think
There's also the go retrieve cargo off a ship missions which give you a fully functional ship you can return to a station, deposit the cargo, and now you have an abandoned ship. Which was what I was thinking about for the "chop shop" kind of setup.
Ah I get your idea.
Ive been salvaging them and stripping components on those contracts but I get what you are saying
Yeah, me too, and enjoying the whole loop even if the early part isn't super profitable. Got my first raft with cargo last night.
Raft at jr contractor, at least occasionally
I think there might be hidden sub levels to. I didn't see a raft till I was 3/4 thru jr
Dont doubt it
what are good sites for mining info? I know regolith is dying so I need a new one
!tradetools
'!tradetools'
scmdb.net is the only noteworthy one rn
thanks!
That would be it, yes.
Thank you!
I don’t think you can activate two stampedes on one laser
And torrents aren’t the most effective on the impact, given they apply multiplicatively and the impact has a lower base optimal charge speed value
I usually just don’t run an impact, opting instead for two hofsteads
Each with torrent focus, or replacing the focus on one of them with a rieger
I keep impacts on the elevator grid just in case I get a 100k+ rock that needs more power
How limited are you with the Golem when mining? Will using mining attachments (like the Sabir) greatly assist in mining more difficult rocks? Eventually I’ll want to mine with a Mole if I have at least one other person (I’m not a fan of soloing a Mole, too much back and forth), but for now I’ll buy a Golem.
I’d guess it caps out between 20k mass and 30k mass
With surges + sabir
Prefer surface mining with it
Still worthwhile for mining good quality ores for blueprints I assume? I guess my concern is, I buy a Golem then hit a ceiling too fast.
I don’t bother with the golem or prospector now that I have the mole, because exiting the ship to place a gadget is a lot more effort than switching seats
True.
Yes, you just have to leave some rocks behind or ask for help
Surface mining on avg has smaller rocks
It’s more if I’m off a bit with the Mole then I have to go back to the pilot seat, adjust, get out, and see if it’s fine lol
And it’s easier to attach gadgets on the surface
Ah, well, that’s just experience 😆
Ya I figured lol
last patch the winning distance was 45 meters
At 45m, on the surface, the mole lifting on its own because buggy game put it at the perfect distance
Man, I can't wait till the IC gets itself fixed to be mostly playable. I kind of want to see if I can run a mobile repair/rearm shop out of it.
Without that bug, 58-60 is perfect
Is it worth going for a Wikelo Golem vs Teach’s?
if the wikelo mats are easily available and you like the idea of owning more exclusive ships, definitely
But purely aUEC wise it’s almost always going to be more expensive to get the wikelo one
I was thinking in terms of claiming a free ship, if it’s Teach’s or Wikelo then it comes standard with better components.
I haven’t bought my mole yet since the wipe, but expecting to have the funds from it through org trading in the next week to start producing components to sell
Been stockpiling gems
Your org selling looted armor and weapons?
Looted, crafted, wikelo stuff,
When looking at RS signatures, other than identifying what type of rock it is, it will tell you how many rocks in the cluster?
Will a 1 rock signature have more mass than a signature with 2 rocks? I'm asking cause mining yesterday, it was frustrating finding huge rocks that I couldn't break or that I'm not well-practiced enough to break.
If players pay for it we sell it
Yes
3185 is the signature for quantanium, if you find a 6370, it’ll have two quant rocks
3185x2
So smaller, and easier to break. The benefit of being able to crack a larger rock will likely be if you find higher quality in it, you're likely to walk away with more cSCU of it?
Or is there another reason why someone would specifically look for singles?
No, the number of rocks in the cluster has no bearing on sizes
You don’t typically want singles, but rare rocks usually spawn in singles or smaller clusters
A 4 rock cluster of quant would be a jackpot, but those don’t exist
Ok I gotcha. So rock mass is totally random no matter what the signature is.
Thanks a ton!
Of course, the more rocks in a cluster the more likely at least one of them will be worth cracking
For any given material ofc
Super rare materials like sav and quant are the exception given they’re always valuable, assuming you can get at least 1 full refined scu out of it
totally random within the range for a given location. At least it used to be that different moons / planets / areas had different size ranges that were possible, and different average mass rocks that would spawn. We don't have the data to know for sure if that's true any more, but I would guess that it still is.
Anyone else doing the C2 cargo from salvaging?
I've done 3 so far and they all have like 3 cargo pieces
Shadow nerf or what lol
Of all of them C2 has the best loot so far. At least 5 or 6 32 SCU (?) crates. A2, M2 has 1- 3. 890J has maybe 4 of them.
what head is best to use on a MISC Fortune? 1st time salveging
Abrade
are you just destroying them or actually salvaging? If destroying, what method do you use?
I just go with a Raft or Hermes, take titanium crates from them, blow them up either with the guns or self destruct and go for the next contract. I sell the titanium at Arc L5. Sometimes I take the iron and nitrogen if I'm swinging by any major cities. But they are half the value of titanium rn. Not really worth picking them up.
Ah nice alright, the self destruct doesnt ever seem to work for me
I think they shadow nerfed it or something
or is it something to do with the server resets
Because I'm not getting shit anymore
Yesterday was fine
They just nerfed it.
This was the least broken gameplay loop in this game for me
and now it's not viable lol
I mean, it was pretty broken in terms of profits
It made 10x per hour more than anything else
lol, just prior to patch i just got the rank to get the good salvage missions
What is the next best money making method ?
Selling things to players
favors, scrip, crafted items, ace pilot helmets, medals, Polaris bits, fangs, carinite,
Rcmbnts
Imagine the higher tier bit zero contracts are still a really good source, if you can stomach leveling the rep
I'm glad to know they nerfed almost every way to make profit and not fix any of the hundreds of dollar ships they put out.
What do these give ?
they spawn a freelancer with cargo on it
Mix of things like gold, drugs, stims, med supplies,
First tier can probably make you 800k-1.5mil an hour, depending on your efficiency
Last time I tried doing a Bit Zero mission, I got blown up every time I approached. Any tips / ideas on why that happened ? It was last patch tho.
Probably the turrets
Gotta avoid them
Arrive in an Asgard, park safely, Eva with a fire extinguisher to quickly reach the airlock, do the fps part, fly freelancer with minimal power pips on to reach your Asgard and offload it
Repeat 3 times, offload Asgard, repeat
Once you have a good collection of materials to sell, load up one and sell it for the highest price you can in one trip
Cargo that spawns inside missions ships has been significantly reduced - but not consistently across all missions/ships.
Percent ranges of 'how full' a cargo hold be for some missions has been reduced from 70-90% to 0-30%. There is a general significant reduction in the amount of 'free cargo' spawned across most missions.
Dismantling :
When dismantling items, some rarer materials will not be returned, preventing an infinite loop of dismantling and crafting.
For example, an Arclight Pistol will return Copper and Dolivine, but no Lindinium.
The following resources cannot be reclaimed from dismantling so far:
Quantanium
Stileron
Savrilium
Lindinium
Riccite
Ouratite
Saldynium
Janalite
hmmm that doesnt sound great for the cargo does it 🙁
where was that posted?
Its on the leaks discord
I understand the reduction but instantly so high.
the rare mats I dont mind that is fine
Imo it needed to happen, and needed to be a major nerf
But I’d like to see useful cargo return to other missions
Like bounties, patrols, etc, generic ship combat contracts
if you want cargo you need to pirate i guess 🙂
I want a random hull A on a pyro mission to have a box of neon on it
they like copy paste though
I like in wake of disaster
and the pyro version
that had nice drugs in them to sell
yeah, VHRT/ERT loot piñata was a fun game loop. Maybe it was a bit OP, but it should exist to SOME extent, with the rare chance for a big score.
I feel like im missing something, a full load of construction salvage in the reclaimer only gave me 600k. Took more than an hour.
did you convert it into cmat?
Yup 🙁
Full load as in 240 scu?
or 240 + grid + 100x16 scu boxes
I don’t think cmats are the way to go with the reclaimer
RMC I was able to make 900k in an hour last patch
Including selling it
But…
Docking sucks right now
I was able to dock at Levski last night, but not leave my ship (inner docking port door wouldn’t open). Had to leave through the cargo bay and Eva to landing pad lol.
Not able to dock at all in Stanton.
Feels like they’re killing the salvage related loops this patch?
Just seems like a 31m ship multicrew should be able to make more than 900k an hour
They’re killing the cargo hauling loop that was relying on salvage contracts
And after they removed the cargo from salavage seems like they hating on us
I def noticed that. It was one of my favorite/more immersive feeling loops.
Only because it made a lot of money
Refueling is still crazy money though and they didnt touch it
The existence of something that can make 10-20x more than everything else per hour makes everything else feel bad
I do tend to agree that the baseline profit per hour right now is too low
Like, a salvation costs 30k to rent for a day. You can’t even break even doing entry level salvage contracts in a salvation
There’s not enough material on the ships
You have to buy abrades
Also a little disappointing that after Sr theres nothing different about contracts
Mining can very easily be the most profitable loop in the game, but you need to be willing to do the research and interact with other players
Is hand mining or ship more lucrative?
Both of them are necessary
But I’d say ship
Some s3 components need 170 gems
170 900+ gems for top tier power plants is a lot
Err, shields*
Power plants don’t take gems
I’ve been trying to give mining a try, but I keep getting distracted with some multi crew combat shenanigans. I def need to settle down with my pickaxe and bring in some credits. Last couple nights I’ve been hemorrhaging AUEC
Just be warned you won’t make much of anything from TDD or contracts
Money is in the player market
Good to know, thank you!
1.7 scu of 900+ beryl, and 3scu of 900+ savr, to get one extra power pip
People will pay an arm and a leg for that
You’d probably make more making s1 power plants tho
Less materials per
And higher demand
Would my golem be enough, or would I need something bigger? I’m mainly a role player, but I like to stay on the belts as long as possible. I’ve got 24 ore bags in the hold on my mothership and room for another 20 or in the hold and again in the hangar
You’d have to lower your target a bit in a golem
It’s going to struggle with savrilium
Go for something craftsble with simple materials
Like ballistic weapons
Kill shots were in high demand last patch
P8’s are always wanted
Good to know! I didn’t really think about crafting. Just bulk procurement of varied materials. But I’m an old Veldspar miner. Used to just eating up the whole belt and selling at local market
Works for me. I don’t need a lot of credits. My Golem has all the upgrades it needs. Polaris can wait on upgrades and torpedo rearm. Only major one is the TS-2 in storage from the other night
I do need to pick up a full size cambrio to patch some holes the station didn’t repair
I think I keep asking this, but in honestly don’t remember:
best bet for mothership mining (well finding the damn thing again) is to pick up a box mission and leave it on board right?
PSA I'm told cargo in mission ships has been drastically reduced
seems like every decent money maker is always blasted

Can I refuel my hydrogen pods from my ship? I still have 108M fuel left but my pod is empty
question some off you have issues with trying to sell direct from the ship to tdd? my items are not showing at all
If decent money maker means makes more than 10x every other source, then that’s a good thing
i am for sure gonna miss the cargo. at least i made my money before the nerf.
This patch is gonna make me rich
i already am really
Because people are lazy and will buy things
yeah true. always market for stuff people dont have time or want to farm
trying to sell CM it just doesnt show on the tdd screen 🙂
what is the most efficient way of loading a lot of SCU in cargo? by hand?
When it works the ATLS is fantastic
Get your position right, switch to free mode, then point and click
went with 1000 scu of CM to 2 different locations to sell. The TDD doesnt even show the item to sell.
where do I get one?
and where would be the best place to mine with a MOLE currently?
Lorville or Levski. Maybe Area18.
for the ATLS?
Did you refine it
offcourse
1000 is a lot if refined
If I want to actually buy (not sell at the moment) RMC. Where's the best place right now?
I got 3000 scu
Where did you try to sell it?
but i cant sell it
Pyro gateway nyx now orison
tried it first from my ship direct
now I unloaded it to station still nothing
1 RMC is usually what those salvage contracts want right?
I’d suggest hur l4 or hur l3
Uex doesn’t say orison will buy it
And no place will buy 3k at once
It does
Wait, is it refined?
“Last” column says 0
where did you go mine?
so the stats might not be correct for this patch
mine ? just salvage ships
ooooh I misunderstood
I been stranded with my reclaimer for days
so I just keep salvage and org mates comes empty me out
3,000 CM is either 12,000 CM off a MOLE, or closer to 15,000 CM off a Reclaimer, and completely unrealistic on a Vulture or smaller... Did yu refine it?
yes refined it
Its not a 1 run thing
i been salvage for a week
it didnt take that long
but i transported only a c2 worth
the ironclad aint working yet to be used
Mine works fine, but that aside, Orison should be taking CMAT, but nowhere near that much of it
i full reclaimer is like over 2000 scu
No, a full reclaimer is like 300 SCU after refining
I know not that much but it aint showing at all. I go try a different station
when i unload mate. the xlarge hanger is full
Yeah, but that number is irrelevant
yes how many runs do you thing i have done
you get 15% of it
believe it or not thats not the issue right now
but I go back to game to figure this out. thanks for the response though
I understand that. The only thing I can think of, is if you have 3k SCU, maybe your inventory page is bugged
the reclaimer can have over 100 boxes of the grid of 16 scu plus whats on the grid what is like 10
I’m still not completely convinced it’s refined,
yes, a generally full Reclaimer is 2,000 SCU of UNREFINED CMAT. It has to be refined down to 300 SCU to be sellable
1760 i been doing this for a week
That’s over 20k scu unrefined
Certainly not impossible
Only thing I can think of then is that it's too much inventory and it's bugged out
its easy to do
Only like 10 loads
it might i have to go back to nyx
You might need to split it up
But HUR-l4 is the usual place for small salvage refining because you can sell it there
But reclaimer can’t offload easily there so it usually uses levski for bulk
Hmm.. not sure then, sorry. I can't think of any other reason why nothing would show up as a sellable option
probably skill issue
Will a Salvation fit in a TAC? I'm guessing not even in the back because of the height.
well i am located at levski
not really, no
Yes
so i refine there and load up to sell elsewhere
you can squeeze it in the back, but getting it in and out is a pain
I am sure this has been answered many times, but is basic "buy shit and truck it across to a different place and sell it" working? freight elevators still losing stuff?
A Pisces fits ina TAC, so a salvation will. But honestly doing anything with a salvation is a waste of time, unless just doing it for fun
no not using reclaimer to transport haha
The problem is mostly the height. It's a very narrow fit
its not my first time playing. i just not seeing the thing i did wrong, but ill see at levski i guess
Levski won’t buy cmats
These places have all recently been confirmed to buy cmats
From most stock to least
i have a feeling what went wrong
anyone have advice on where to go mining with a MOLE? havent done any mining since 4.0
Ah, were you trying to sell the source boxes, heh,
no its the right box. it just shows empty now
there’s a bug
well yes i figured that after seeing empty haha
When you refine cmats, you’ll be left with both the refined boxes and the empty csalvage boxes
Gotta dump them to space/etc
i just pulled a full xl hangar up and down again. it doest regisiter as a full scu box even
great thats going to be a fun job
ill wait on the ironclad to be in and do it in 1 go
story of our lives in this game. i been here since kickstarter. surival mode playing this game has a new genre of games.
Are those 50k salvage contracts worth the cost? They fill up like half of my Vulture, not sure if I'm actually getting my moneys worth.
I have not tried the 50k in pyro yet
I want to try it out for sure
u have to kill like 8 ships in 3 waves i believe though
Hmm. Half a vulture, as in like 20 scu of rmc?
Half the buffer, not entire cargo 🙂
Could be server woes, but any tips on refueling mission issue where fuel is in pods, ship docked, open pods to fill and nothing happens? Tried 3 missions.
You lost 8k
the most expensive contract I can get right now is the 20k in stanton or 10k in nyx. for the c2,m2,a2 and 890jump
yes, and 50k mission in pyro aswell
I'll do another one right now to get exact count 😄
I go do the 50k now see what it is
I got a Crusader C1 spirit. Started playing few days ago so no idea if it's a good one 😄
C1 is a nice ship
Does anyone know if their is a website I can put in CMAT SCU's, Select a refining option and see how much SCU I'd get after refining? Don't want to have to lug it all to a refinery just to find out.
