Interesting. I’ve never even heard of the moth lol. I’ve been running vulture and reclaimer.
Solo reclaimer is still fun, just lots of seat hopping.
I’ll check out the moth
I like the moth primarily because the salvage claws are pilot controlled...no need to swap seats. You have better control over maneuvering when a fuselage section trys to get away from you.
Yeah especially if you just wanna crunch for cmat and avoid rmc, moth is great for solo salvage
The moth looks nice. Sadly it seems like it's still unavailable for purchase in-game.
it only released a few months ago
Should be in-game in the next few updates if I had to guess. It was shortly after the Hermes, and the Hermes is added in this update.
i'm kinda shocked at how many ships they updated as auec tbh
hermes, perseus, clipper, mdc, can't remember hwich else
yeah this update is like 3x as many normal releases to the universe
yeah exactly
i'm guessing moth will release alien week or something
i hope so
i started just after alien week last year, so I dont know much about that event
for moth that is
i cant stand the vulture so im getting the moth as soon as its buyable in game
My biggest industrial red-flag right now is the shit-all for middle ground Mining. Going from GOLEM and Prospector to a MOLE with nothing inbetween in absolutely annoying for a solo miner.
i agree
i love the mole with 2 but its irksome solo
and the prospector just feels lacking a bit
And I mean, to be fair, that annoyance would be immediately solved with giving pilot control of the central mining turret, but I also dont wanna jump that bandwagon as the only viable fix
i still use it though, a helix and 2 focus 3 and im usually fine for most rocks i find
I want to like mining but i never see myself going to do it
maybe once i start crafting more
I gave up mining this patch.
Na ive been online near daily since I started last july
Even if its to do random tasks im on
Oh i was just making a joke, I still log in mostly daily
Honestly some days I log in an just run courier missions, flying the ships and just experiencing the 'verse is a hard feeling to replicate
Honestly I just login to read the eloquent conversations in general chat
i really like the MOTH and really dislike the MOLE
hilarious that that duality can exist
you know what would be ncie though, allowing two MOTHs to crack larger ships if you have 2x moths using the disintegration field, like how lasers and mining works with multiple MOTHs/turreted lasers
same with ex- yeah
exactly that lol
as it stands you have to use the reclaimer for large ships
i guess it would render the claimer obsolete if they did that but idek if that argument works since the cost of two MOTHs is the same as one reclaimer and you're going to be more efficient with 2-3 people n the claimer anyway
Reclaimer needs better grid absolutely, and I would also argue for a better elevator for the sake of unloading the better grid it needs.
But as far as running the actual salvage itself, reclaimer didnt feel that bad last I used it.
Yeah needing all 3 lasers is to match scrape speeds is a bit wild imo, even with acknowledgement of it being intended to multi-crew
honestly if the reclaimer had a stacking grid, a pilot controlled cruncher, and a better elevator, i'd use it over the MOTH
as it stands the reclaimer feels most ass when printing/unloading
and having to bounce between pilot and crunch seat or pilot and scrapers
Unless a second guy really wants to take the role of printing boxes
yeah rmc is what we target in reclaimer and cmats in moth
True
Imma be the best damn box printer you ever seen, pay me money
Deal
I'm looking for a reason to take out the reccy again. I've got enough hopium accumulated to see a rework happening soon now that cmat and rmc gets more important
My reclaimer is sitting somewhere in Nyx exploded near my 890J that is also exploded, cause I am hoping they get deleted during the update so I dont have an XL hangar anymore
My fingers are bleeding from running across the XL hangar to my (usually) medium sized ship.
Fair point. You're moth'ing now?
I been MOTHin since the MOTH released, upgraded my Fortune
At least when I do Salvage
I was looking forward to do rmc with the moth but the speed scared me off. I did cmat with it which was fun for a while but I like the rmc power washing
upgraded my salvation to MOTH and don't regret one bit
i cant wait for it to be able to buy in game
Do you rmc?
I currently have it as a pledge (obvious) but I'll melt it once it's purchasable in-game
nope
i enjoy salvage but i hate the vulture so it will be a nice addition for me when it happens
RMC sucks on the MOTH
i have a vulture, reclaiimer and fortune if i want to RMC
(which i got in game for auec)
(also have a salvation technically but thats just for an LTI toke)
yeah my salvation was an LTI token too
I think that it drops 4.8. pretty sure I saw it on yt in ptu
mine too lol
yeah it will lol
there's like 5 ships that were in ptu
where in stanton can i found salvage big/plentiful enough to feasibly fill a moth within like 2 hours or so
try the gateways
Gateways
Orbital Stations (Everous / Tressler / Baijini)
Lagrange Stations (Where you go if you actually buy a contract for salvage)
Those 3 usually have decent salvage availability
Gateways and Orbitals usually have abandoned player ships, the Lagrange stations usually have lots of excess "bricked" ships for salvage contracts, you can just much them up.
is finding a wreck this big at a lagrange point common?
quite common, yes, bigest i've found, several times is the 890 jump
if while scanning you see a signature having symbols like the lightning or the heatwave, then you found a ship.
Following up same as the other said, lagrange usually have lots of excess ships from people creating claims and closing them after stripping cargo.
Can a MOTH much a Herc though? or are you just scrapping RMC?
Even if it can't you can break it up into smaller pieces first
purely just doing RMC
Doing rmc exclusively I would recommend taking a vulture or fortune, MOTH you need all 3 scrape lasers to get the same efficiency otherwise. MOTH storage is great but scraping is miserable lol
how impeding is the storage on a vulture though?
my moth would be fully crewed
idk what 'impeding' means, but...
Vulture can store up to 39 scus
The qt tank is way too small on the vulture.
And I've had cargo stored off grid cause issues. But still
Rmc in the moth does feel awful solo
I'm jumping constantly
Ymmv but It I don't care for it for that reason
I'm waiting for the moth before I go back to salvage. Just going after cmat
And it's great for that
Huh?
That means they believe they have fixed dupes and exploits, and did a good enough job at preventing future ones.
It's a good news.
I understand all that. I'm sure it's needed. I have just been grinding the last week and it was for nothing. It could just be until the game fully launches and get out of alpha it might not be for me. I have no desire to even log in now.
Which isn't the end of the world. Lots of other stuff to play and do
Is rep going to be reset at well or just items?
Read the post.
Alrighty
Think of it as COD "Prestige" for those of us who went that route a few times....
cries and uninstalls Star Citizen after being compared to the worst gameplay loop Call of Duty ever utilized
Ohhh boo hoo
j/k
I legit stopped playing after I accidentally prestiged the first time in MW2. That was the end of my time in CoD sweatlobbies
So in retrospect, it was a good thing

If I remember correctly I did it twice
Doubt
Most of the dupes are T0 issues
how does one make an NPC ship stop moving long enough to off the pilot?
I'm using distortions fit to a Shiv but all I can do is kill these guys, cant disable them
Blow the engines literally off the ship
what's the best weapon to do that with?
Blowing the engine off has less to do with weapon types and more to do with precision targeting.
Use RMB during a fight to open enhanced targeting where you can use gimbals to micro-adjust aim and target subcomponents. Aiming for the engine = blowing the engine off.
As far as what weapons to use, anything that isn't distortion can do it. Laser repeaters, laser cannons, ballistics, etc. LOGICALLY I would think ballistic would do better for destroying components, but in the case of engines specifically I dont think it matters, cause as I understand it the engines aren't protected by the armor pool / deflections, so any weapon can target and damage them,
I'll have to try that out tomorrow. Thanks!
the post doesn't say. It doesn't say that rep WILL be wiped, it also doesn't say that it WON'T be.
I used to love exploration in Elite Dangerous but now I'm a big star citizen fan. Are there any good exploration gameplay loops or ways to make money in Star citizen. I'm super unfamiliar with the exploration side of the game
There isn't any exploration gameplay, since the whole universe is handmade and not procedural
I don't know if you're experienced in either but would you recommend Elite dangerous or no mans sky for exploration?
No Man's sky is definitely better for exploration. That's literally what most of the game is built around
Cool, thanks!
Whats a good way for wikelo rep?
The post mentions both what will be wiped and what will be kept, with conflicting information, in good CIG's fashion
were can get good salvage in staton?
is trading better now
They clarified
RIP Reputation and Exec ships.
The rep really hurts.
I wonder though, to rank up adadgio, can I destroy the ship and get credit for it or do I have to actually salvage it? If I can blow em up it will save time
Last I was trying blowing up worked but idk if bug or feature
Nice, that will make it much raiser for me to get back to where I was
silly question of choice: Is there really a reason I'd ever want a Moth and a Reclaimer? Is there a chance in the future that the Moth is just far easier to operate as a solo / duo than the Reclaimer? Figured this place might make more sense than the CCU channel
IMO ship with all seats right by each others like Reclaimer/Arrastra will always be easier to operate solo than MOLE/MOTH.
Moth were launched with several bugs and deficiencies that had not been yet fixed. I would not buy it
The running around in a MOLE is tiring compared to just switching seats 2 meters away in Arrastra concepted cockpit or Reclaimer one.
I mean I am specifically looking at long term prospects of the ships
stay on the Reclaimer
that was kinda what I was leaning. if I were gonna get one, I'd get the Reclaimer
ideally, I'd like a solo designed ship above the Vulture though
That's likely not going to exist tho.
unfortunately I stupidly only ever grabbed a single CCU to a reclaimer....... whoops...
What's wrong with that ? Reclaimer is available mutliple times a year and not limited.
I guess thats fair. my Valk to Reclaimer isnt actually a warbond
Yea I don't expect one but.. I can hope lol
I think you can see it at the asop terminal, not certain though
is a fully crewed moth more efficient for a large shipwreck than 3/4 vultures?
and if not is there any reason to own a moth instead of a reclaimer
Solo moth is 100% easier to manuever and manage internally than a reclaimer
Scraping in a moth is a complete waste of time
so the reclaimer is best for just scraping RMC?
and then multiple vultures next best?
I'm probably going to stick to a reclaimer over moth personally, but I imagine it's a bit more personal tastes if yoh are going to solo
so the only convenient thing about the moth is its grid?
I'm thinking Railen if I get a dedicated cargo ship
Pilot controlled salvage arms
No need to switch seats
so moth is ideal for cmat but isnt good for scraping?
Wait. I thought moth still. Had to switch seats?
No u can fracture from pilot seat
Huh
Yeah for cmat moth is easier solo
But reclaimer wins for rmc
Even having to move about the ship
Honestly everything is a personal taste so youll have to decide what works for you
True
so vulture for solo rmc, moth for solo cmat, reclaimer wins both if crewed with multiple people?
mY BIGGEST concern with the Reclaimer is the same one I share with all the larger role based ships: is there potential in the future that they become too difficult or unwieldy to operate solo
same reason I didnt really consider something like the Arrastra
I don't like it solo. But it's subjective
I can't crack as much with it, or Crack for as long. But i enjoy my prospector
I also only mine in space so if I 2anna mole, I'll just go with my buddy that can't control his spending, lol. Saves me the money
Well for. Me personally, my concern is expanded more outwards to ships like the 600i, or heck even the terrapin
Like what good is a terrapin really solo....
will there be any reason to own a mole if i own an arrastra? talking about when it releases obv
but there would be a reason to have a vulture, moth, and reclaimer?
depending on solo or multicrew
I love a lot of the larger ships over the smaller ships, but don't want to get stuck not being able to use them solo. Its why I still have the Vulture despite the fact I am not the biggest on its overall design
all industrial MC ships, like the Reclaimer, Moth, etc. can be run Solo perfectly.
but will that ALWAYS be true?
sorry, we cant ensure that
you shall ask Mister Roberts to be 100% sure.
yesterday i found a huge gold rock that a Prospector plus a Golem could not break
we glitched thru the planet so we lost the spot....
Honestly I. More a salvaged than a miner anyway
that could be fun to see
Thinking about grinding salvage rep first, or would I be better served focusing on Cargo?
I have a Carrack and plan on using it to cart around a Salvation, and if I can squeeze one in, a Golem.
Mining was done for me when I spent so much time just trying to find any decent ore in 4.7 -
I would....I mean I know I will be salvaging most of 4.8
Maybe run some cargo with the Hermes
That’s what I was thinking. I was making good money grabbing cargo off ships before scraping them. Not sure it would be worth it to salvage modules?
Salvage whatever you can....I know I did
Fair. Can we break down modules in the fabricator? (Is that even how it works?)
Modules? you mean components?
Yeah
I had a good amount of salvaged mil comps also
"had"
Oh I just realized I have a salvation
Not that ill use it.
im gonna start on salvage as soon as i log in the first say. gotta get to rank 3 as fast as i can
Same get those Hull C wrecks
as fast as possible.
i just have a feeling that everyone will be doing it and every place i got to sell will be full stock...
Oh good point
i get that the wipe is needed but man i feel like its gonna be rough going for me. i had so many ships. now i will have 2
So I'm sick in prison and I've never hand mined before, how do I do it I don't seem to have any hud to break rocks just primary and alt fire
Forces you to think about what you are going to do.
well tbh honest it forces me to maybe wait for full release. i only just started now i have to all over again.
oh well though. plemty of other games to play if its gonna be a struggle to play
Honestly, I like the idea of not being handed a game breaking amount of cash right when I log in. I’ve got a big ship, and big expenses. My spaceman needs a job
You just started and had so many ships?
Sounds like you really havent pleyed the game then.
ive been gringing for money the last month. so yeah
alrighty
no one gave me anything
I will have this. Wanna trade ?
You don’t even have to ask. Someone just randomly sent me 1B when I first started.
My misunderstanding.
lol, nice.
guys i hear you. im here and i love the game. im just frustrated is all
I have a carrack, I think a base pieces, and a ATLS. Other than a salvation and golem, that’s all the ships I intend to buy
Hull b is nice
but i just got an asgaurd and im gonna miss the absolute shit out of that thing till i can get another one
Nice
i have the mk2 as well as the hull b. but i might try and grab the asgard and an iron glad off the grey market
Nice
Nice. I never tried the mining contracts before. How are they? They send you to specific places, or are they more like the salvage “bring back x, you figure it out” ?
Gotcha!
What are salvaging contracts like? I’m considering buying a salvaging ship. Is it good money? Where are the contracts normally located?
For the legal salvage contracts, you pay a fee (depends on the size of the ship, I think it goes up to 50k?) and the game will spawn a ship, and give you a marker for it. You make money by going and scraping/cracking the ship, and then selling that RMC/CMAT. The missions will send you to the lagrange stations, depending on which planet you're around. So if you take a mission around crusader, it'll take you to the CRU lagrange stations
Ok and they’re normally close to the stations? I am nervous about getting jumped.
Yeah, like 20-30k from the station
1 starlifter is worth like 500k and takes about 4 minutes to munch another 5-10 to print boxes and 10 to offload, i usally unload every 2 full runs
solo
i do illegal for money cuz god damn they are profitable, but also you can ram smaller ships with reclaimer at 200m/s and complete the contract without stopping for early rep
Yeah the illegal contracts will pay you to scrape/fracture the ship, buts its only like 10-30k
but you sell the rmc and cm with that little bonus instead of paying a fee
So do you have to hand over the materials, like deliver them someplace after you salvage the ship?
you just sell them
Ok gotcha
Yeah
Occasion get a mission to deliver rmc or components, but you’re on your own to source them
whats the largest SCU box a reclaimer can put RMC into from its depot?
16SCU
kk ty
do yall think there will ever be a reason to own a mole over an arrastra once its implemented?
think i asked that already but cant remember
@latent crag Do you like multi crew gameplay? Sure. If you like doing your own thing solo, I personally recommend. The prospector and the fortune. Or the Vulture, whatever your flavor. Is. Is there a reason? Of course. They're gonna be the mine faster. And produce more. Is it easy to do as a solo player? Absolutely not. Will NPCS help? We don't know yet.
Operating cost could be that thing, bigger ships should have meaningfully higher operating costs. Idk how you'd do that for mining ships specifically, but I'd like to see it
Salvage missions go up to 100k where u get 890 jump and a2 c2 m2 with cargo
so how are you guys planning on recovering after wipe? I'm hoping that unverified salvage missions are still good to go.
Hmmm, I wonder what my Mk1 SE fleet is good for.
I got a Golem as a pledge so gonna be doing some mining for now
I just hope we get a timeslot soon on when exactly the update is going to be
I think I'll do a bunch Vanduul tech smuggling missions and then invest those payouts into IC commodity trading.
You'll have to do intersec rep grind first, but not a bad idea
Gah, forgot about the rep. Well, rip
I'm sure there will be plenty of people grinding in a big group
Because you need the rep for TSG also
Was a little disappointed to learn that 32SCU crates don’t snap to the Carrack. Though you can get about 10 on it, so not terrible.
where? you just stabbing them through the hold and leaving the doors open?
Easy, do a few cargo missions you can chain them from area 18 to Baijini point and back. Or i go in my salvage do that sell straight as long its get more money then the mission and keep going to minimal 10k missions. While being in a org party sharing missions
Gonna do some bunkers and loot some PAF's first to get my FPS loadout setup, then I'll likely do a mix of legal and illegal salvage contracts to get RMC to sell and adagio rep to start unlocking the scraping head blueprints
You can get them cockeyed with some finagling, and four in the garage
trying to understand how insurance claims work with crafted ship components, can someone ELI5?
Non stock ships need to be saved, and cost more to claim.
speaking of: crafting scraping heads with better quality increases...scraping speed?
looks like improvements to radius, speed, and efficiency are all possible
nice that's sick
in a good way I mean
hey, I may be an old space dad, but I know what sick means 😆
surely "sick" is from the 90s
yeah, it's actually very much of my generation
seems to have had a bit of a resurgence recently though
For the tiers 2 mining lasers you need shubin rock breaker. Those gems you can as far I know only in that mission. U need 13 of them at least.
is the reclaimer supposed to have a cargo grid on the salvage hold level? and on the salvage lift?
so to get salvage off the ship i just have to throw it down loosely on the elevator?
The grid is split between the cargo hold and the processing deck. Most people, if working in a crew or in Pyro, use the XL hangars to chuck everything out the back.
Using part of the grid and a lot of free space, you can store 2,000 SCU easily (100 16 SCU loose, 10 16 SCU grid, full hopper) which, once processed is 300 SCU of CMAT.
You can theoretically hold a potential maximum of 2,292 SCU, but it's a humongous pain in the neck and not really worth the effort
didnt know that. I dont do bounty missions. I only seen the gems there anyways.. its still that station anyways
What is the best cargo hauling loop after the baijini to rikers?
Define 'best'. Bear in mind, payouts change in 4.8
try interstellar missions
do we know when the moth will next go onsale?
So earlier I boarded a 400i generated for a salvage mission. I went to unlock the ports to take components, and wound up locked in the cockpit.
What weapon should I bring to escape those situations? My gut says shotgun, but game mechanics might say otherwise
Any gun will work, just bring lots of ammo
Probably fall. Release to sale seems to be about 6 months
lol got it. Maybe I’ll strap up with my beloved coda pistol then
golem ox or hull a?
Ox is a fair bit more compact and has a better cargo grid, but the hull A has a full hab and a longer QT range
Or would a drag pistol be better since it has that charge up bonus damage deal?
Its entirely your preference. Any gun will shoot open a door if you shoot the door enough 🤷
Is the damage uniform or is it based on how many times I shoot the door regardless of damage?
The door has an hp value, you shoot it until it hits 0
So you don’t have an actual answer. Got it.
Idk what you mean by "is the damage uniform"
Your answer to “what weapon is best or most efficient” was “shoot it”
I mean yeah, theres not much more to it than that. If you want a more proper answer, the gun with the highest TTK would open the door the fastest, but if you're not in a rush to get through said door, then any gun will work as long as you have enough ammo
That I don't know off the top of my head, you can check this chart though https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BD87issjyxeOLYAV5V6vafawD2TGuaftnfXPAyIo_2w/edit?gid=953135858#gid=953135858
Thank you
what was the question
im actually a fps guru, self-proclaimed
but this is my bible
i just happened to peep in here
Asking what gun would be best for shooting open interior doors
Railgun
tho parallax will half mag the door
Awesome, thank you
What about a sidearm, b/c I’m a rp nerd. I’m leaning towards coda because big revolver, but the frag “shotgun” pistol makes sense too. The graph says 0 ttk on the chart, but I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing
might take a reload or two, havent actually tested it with a pistol
I might tonight if I can then.
I have no idea. I just don’t want to backspace out to my
Medbed, especially now, because so got locked inside a salvage spawn
Or was it only capital doors that got buffed
tho lh86 has good for an "oh shit moment"
should have good dps for a door
Breaching charges or some kind of industrial cutting attachment for the multitool would be good too. Since my load out is only a Maxlift, knife, and sidearm, I don’t get much use out of the multitool
There is a cutting tool, but it's been disabled for now
After Maelstrom, you'll use it to cut locks, hinges, weak points, etc
Nice!! I also saw breaching charges on the wiki. Cutting tool makes more sense for a salvage and scavenger
@keen garden Mind if I DM you?
0 ttk means instakill
0 time to kill
sweet, thanks
4.8 is live!!
Hey is there a way to put a tractor on one of Moth salvage head? Like replacing cinch with a tractor so you don't move from your seat while salvaging
You could in previous updates, so as long as it wasn't a bug you should be able to
I have red fabricastors on moth and I can not print boxes. any idea for fix?
Anyone know if ATLS can aim up and down at good angles?
Thinking if so, I could lift it on to roof of IC, then get in it, then move boxes between any elevator and IC
Well, when I don't have a second, thinking of best other option
If atls can look down...
Or external elevators if atls can look up
Surprised IC tractors can't look up, maybe a future qol fix
MOTH can only print 8SCU at a time, unless this changed in 4.8. Do you have enough mats?
not that I can not even craft or see the partial amounts of mats in
does abandoning a salvage contract lower rep?
I think abandoning any contract lowers rep.
if i store a ship with RMC still in the depot, will it save?
or should i eject it first
Just don't do it, it'll disappear when you log off. No need to abandon for the most part.
did they remove Cave scanning? I've been flying around in Hurston for 1 hour now, couldn't find a single Cave ping. Does it exclusive to exploration ships now? Which is cool if thats the case.
are the Hull-C Salvage missions still a thing in 4.8?
Man I sure hope they are
I have gotten to the 20k missions and have not seem them yet
They were in the 10k missions last patch
prices of the missions and the vehicles in each tier seems to have changed since last patch
I used to get em about 1 in 7, so I had to abandon them alot to get them
Damn. 20k contracts is rank 4 isn't it?
rank 3? contractor, i think
Oh the yeah the price went up, contractor was only 10k last patch
I really am gonna have to pledge if they killed that revenue stream, lol
It's good I'm waiting till free fly is over then. Need to flesh out my paladin in diablo 4. SC will be there when I get bored with it.
yeah, i just did 10 cargo missions and delivered, but it just ate the cargo. fun part is that i cant even abandon them lmao
Somethings never change, lol
What is the best starting location for haulers?
yeah contracts are completely cooked rn
I did new babbage last patch but I'm thinking lorville this time.
I just like hurston. Very blade runner
There are refueling missions now right and how much do they pay ?
I saw a breakdown on reddit about it but I can't remember the specifics, it seemed decent though
whats cooked about em, havent logged in yet
none of mine are completing lol
db getting slammed rn lol
Is it worth saving up 13 mil for the starfarer for refueling missions ?
What’s the way to go mine? Salvage?
whats the most efficient way to stockpile RMC?
is it the contracts or scanning for panels?
But is refuel a profitable game loop compared the others or just something new to do
I delivered cargo to Sunset Mesa but it doesn't register, wut do
Is there a submit button on the contract
no
bruh, that was a long ass contract
aight, well gg
you only have to bring the freight elevator down for it to succeed right
It dose seem interesting I guess I will get a starfarer after I buy ships I can make better money with
And one of the worst cargo grids in the game lol
That’s true good for other stuff too and it’s a tank so good for transporting valuable stuff
Is it worth grinding rep and uec for the hull C ?
The contract dont pay well anymore?
how do you craft SRT canisters from RMC in a depot?
im in my reclaimer but theres nothing on the crafting screen
Got it I won’t waste my life regrinding covalex rep
can you do it in the vulture?
Is selling rmc more profitable than the salvage contracts ?
The new contract that have you trun in stuff ?
is it true it takes like 64 scu of RMC to repair one fighter..?
Got it
i got that info off a vid posted like 2 days ago
So is mining to sell to TDD still more profitable than salvage ?
I know I’m sure 900+ ore can be sold for a ton of uec
Is it worth saving up for a reclaimer ?
I did like using the reclaimer solo its satisfying staying out in space for days stuffing it with boxes
But is CMAT sill worth it now it has to be refined
But is it worth 30 mil?
I guess at 900k per hour it will pay for itself in 40 hours
Does the moth give you the option to eject 1/2/4 SCU boxes?
Yeah it’s the only salvage ship that scraps fast enough not to be painful and it is fun to scrape capital ships and clean up abandoned ship that are scattered everywhere
I think I will save up for it
I have been rich for too long and it’s fun to have to save up for ships again I made too much uec from supply or die in 4.0.2 and bought a lot of expensive ships
Mining is one of my favorite things to do in sc
The salvation is really good for scraping too, ignoring its other limitations of course
Can you put modules on a rented golem ?
does nyx have salvage contracts?
Should be able to attach them with a tractorbeam, but I don't think you're able to through the VMA
It’s only good if you have a big ship to store the rmc and transport it
Cool
Cool that would be fun to refuel and salvage at the same time
What station / process is recommended for shuffling ships from storage into a large carrier-type? Leave the big ship docked outside the station in Stanton/Nyx and just keep EVA-ing back into the station to pull more small craft?
Assume 0 friends.
Golem / MTC size. I will try an Outpost pad or New Babbage. I haven't explored a "large" hangar so I'm not sure what the margins are around the lift for things like a Golem. Thanks for the tips.
Are these quant prices true? Im aware erkul is mostly out of date atm. I think its worth to check lol
Yeah Im almost certain its too good to be true
But with how missions are rn I think its worth checking out lol
Yeah it says all quant prices are like 150k except for that gateway, its probably just an input error but I have nothing else to do so
Those look correct. Somewhat recently, they increased the sell price of mineables/commodities by a LOT, but decreased the refining yeild to compensate
something like that
Yeah but its saying I can buy it at nyx gateway (pyro) for around 2k scu, I will arrive there shortly
Has anyone used the Ironclad for some full hauling yet? I heard the tractor beams are awful
I dont think you understand what im saying. I am going to see if the buy price of quant is actually 2k at that station, because if so thats insane profits, way more than 900k an hour
Yeah but only auto load
Ah right ok
UEX shows You can buy quant for 2400 uec per scu at nyx gateway in pyro update 8 hours ago
quantum FUEL. not quantanium
for refueling ships in the hangar bay on your capital ship
I see
Are there bluprints for civ quantum drives?
I guess whoever updated the price on UEX put in under quantanium instead QT fuel
Its incorrect, I checked it out. Whoever inputted it on uex mistook quantum fuel for quantanium
nvm just saw your message after lol
did the scanning change for industrial stuff?
or is it just the ironclad being funky
I R O N C H A D
it's the ironclad
Has there been any analysis on refueling as a game loop? Or info from CIG?
Just curious on how it performs, if we know, compared to other industry loops.
is there any mission that i can get shredder / cf-337 / attrition blueprint?
Are unverified salvage contracts a thing of the past?
I assume selling salvaged ship weapons is still worthless?
From minor testing it seems that for anything but the entry level contracts you will be met with fighters that are pain to deal with in the lump of steel that is the starfarer, so I don’t think so
has anyone found where teh covalix missions are yet?
sold basic CF-337 Panthers for a little over 3k ..maybe CIG raised the prices for us salvager to sell them
has anyone been able to get a hull c salvage contract yet?
anyone able to use refinery's it wont detect my ores
how do i fix my reclaimer's depot being stuck on "filling box in progress"?
When it comes to ship mining at those RAB sites, how large are they? Are they worth mining in?
whats best route for junior too member for covalex
anyone know how to get covalex entry mission to appear
if anyone has the issue of not finding the covalex entry mission, going to Nyx made it appear for me.
ouch on the refueling..climbing my way back up the rep for salvage..about time to bring out Mah Reclaimer.
It looks liek they added alot more salvage contracts
the unverified salvage seems to be missing though
They ruined my money maker by nerfing Janalite sell prices with 90%! From 18m for a scu to 1.8...
Dang ... still only 1 hauling contract to accept at a time? -.-
Hello can I have some sites where I can help my self with the whole minner thing?
I meeeeaaaan the Gemini is a multicrew ship by design :/ having a man in the turret is a big plus
how much is RMC rn?
they probably did that to combat the duping exploit
Welcome to industrial professions 😂 if you notice a profitable loop, capitalize on it like crazy bc it 1000% will not last forever. Hull C used to have 711k direct flight runs…. That stopped when Nyx came out
Yep. Make the money when you find it cause it will go away. My gig from last patch is gone so I gotta shift
where do I buy medgel and hydrogen fuel commodity?
Medgel at any hospital or clinic. Hydrogen fuel commodities at admin kiosks at home planets or stations like Levski, area 18, etc
is mining good right now? or hauling? I enjoy pvp/e but i prefer the others
Mining is prob the focus for industrial stuff
High quality materials will be in high demand
havent played since the quality for materials were added
would a prospect be enough? dont have the people for a mole
Perhaps, there will always be some rocks you can't crack tho
Lads, just a quick question here
What's the purpose of the SRV with the arrival of the 4.8.0 update ?
so GUYS , which is betetr this patch , rmc or construction ?
anyone got recs
Does anyone know if you can get stuff like Stileron by scrapping equipment rather than mining? I thought I did it last patch to craft things but cant recall if I found the material in some crates instead.
Im over in nyx right now with a klein-1 and i just cannot crack a single rock right now
where should i head to?
What slot on moth is middle salvage seat? I want to replace one cinch with tractor beam.
NO but , the buy price for rmc is 7 k and ccm is like 13 k
no i know , i tht some one here might have tested it already , so was jsut curious if anyone did it
hey is anyone else’s covalex missions not appearing
Refueling missions -unable to target the target ship. T, r, 4, 5, 6, 7... nothing works. Second time I've tried this mission. Swapped servers, went to bed, new contract.. .Any ideas?
I'm 20 meters away from it
I would if Ping worked
Tab key does nothing
🏅
Thank you
Default is off now?
OR maybe I hit a hot key and didn't realize it yesterday
I don't see even an option to bind that key
Ive made some bucks with missions now. What would be a good commodity to multiply my money with?
I have a big ship available for transport so big numbers are fine
Any fix for when a station won't refuel your starfarer fuel pods?
Won't let me move the sliders at all
Only lets me put a tiny bit of quantum and no hydrogen... is Everus Harbor out of fuel?
And is there some game loop that refills the gas station?
Can I view different contractor reward exclusives?
Where can I find which contracts give which blueprints
Gold from ARC-L3 to Arc-L1 give 38% return on investment and low risk
Or from Shubin SCD-1 to ARC-L1 bit more risk 45% return
Or for best profit but high risk drugs from pyro outposts to scrap yards in Stanton
Which faction was it that gave the best pay/work for cargo hauling and stuff?
Cmats?
Ive seen on UEX go pretty well but idk how much i can trust that
Obviously it’s still new but how profitable is refueling
I'd like to find out but have only been able to complete two missions. Can't fill my hydrogen pods at the station. They are purged, relogged, etc.
Now that mining is a big part of the game because of crafting
Why can’t they make it a lot easier to scan rocks there needs to be a filter on the radar so it only shows the rocks your looking for
and how long it takes to scan a rock needs to be a lot faster
has anyone been able to rent yet?
FWIW, with how they’ve limited what rocks appear where, it’s a lot easier now to find specifically what you are looking for on planets and moons
Takes far less individual scanning than it did before 4.7
What slows us down now is quality
So it won't let me fill my starfarer extra fuel pods (manual with the sliders) if my primary ship tanks are full. I had to go run around burning hydrogen, came back, and it let me fill my extra tanks - but only up to the 4% that I burned - seems like a bug.
Even though my pods were empty it would not fill them unless my primary tanks were missing some
Whats a good place / location to work on redwind missions/contracts?
Should i hover around / stay at hourstin location or does it not matter
for ironclad how do i use the operations tractor beams
cause it opens up with turrets instead
hold "f" on the button to open the wheel
That’s good
but everything show up on radar that is not ship mineable rocks still like gems ?
Yes, but they’re easier to identify
If it ends in 000 it’s not a ship minable
And… generally, the smaller the number the rarer it is
Because rare stuff spawns in smaller clusters
Would it be possible for someone to lend me an atls Geo for a small time frame? Im hand mining and found a particular gem that I cant hand mine but is worth a pretty penny and I need it lmfao
If I add a bunch of mole bags on the ironclad assault
Go deep space mining with a prospector in my iron clad
Take full bags off
Repair the ship… does it add all the empty bags back from the stored inventory
To fabricate the abrades I earned, I need gems. I assume that means going out and hand mining them, or taking a Geo?
What is it? Nothing that’s actually valuable (other than stuff in the Hathor hole) requires a geo
I don’t have one handy (can’t login) but you can rent them pretty cheap
Feynmaline or something like that, allegedly according to the google its expensive
Really? Lol worth less than janelite?
Yea
It’s a bulk material
You turn in 250-300 of it for 100k or so at higher shubin rep
Dang google lied to me lmfao there goes that plan
is sc-trade.tools not yet up to date on pricing?
It’s still decent money, but it doesn’t compete with, for example, salvage
Also, if I take a golem, I won’t need a roc for ground mining right? I’m trying to turn my ironclad into an industrial platform, but with the most efficient selection of vehicles to maximize cargo.
So far:
Salvation
Golem
ATLS Geo
MPUV-Tractor
Ursa Medivac
It relies on uex, and uex is always out of date early on
I forgot about trade tools lol still learning the game and 3rd party sites
Golem can’t safely break vehicle minables
right I knew that, just wasn't sure if it had been long enough for the numbers to update
Thanks!
But also, you don’t need the roc
And it’s broken so don’t take it
ROC DS is good tho
The geo does everything the roc and roc ds can do, but the roc ds has a big bag and is good for bulk scooping (break with geos, scoop with roc ds)
Geo for ground mineables then? Oh Roc-Ds. Got it
Geo for both hand minables and vehicle minables
It has a high mode and low mode
With it, a roc isn’t necessary, just a convenience
So geo isn't a bad idea to grab regardless, thats good to know
I didn’t need a geo for my hand mining, but it makes it so much faster
Awesome, that will save space, I don’t mind racking bags in a cargo slot
Set it to 70%, heat the rock to full green zone, start heating next rock
You can have 2-3 rocks cooking at a time
Don’t do this in high mode tho
Only low mode
High mode will kill you if you screw up
Yeehaw
Worth it to keep a fab on board, or will I need to put in to refine before I can really cook anything anyways?
Fair lol
Might be okay to take along. Even if I have to refine, beats keeping one at every port.
Now I just need the game to cooperate long enough to earn some dosh when I’m not working.
Im hoping the IC Assaults fabricator comes online soon and is an all around fabricator not just ship specific like people are saying that way I dont need to use the cargo grid I have one built in lol
I just have a regular, I want the extra grid space since I’m using it more like a carrier than a cargo ship
One day I’ll have a Kraken or Idris. Maybe. Eventually
is anybody else moth droping 1scu boxes insted of 8scu
I have the assault for the R/R/R for carrier activities, gunna hold my salvage ships and mining ships so I can extend my time in the black
Honestly, I don’t see the need for RRR for my industrial ships. They just don’t take that much of a beating or use much fuel imo
Combat fighters for sure though
The more I think about, the more I think I can probably drop the MPUV-T and just use the command pods tractor beam.
Detach position above the bay looking into the elevator
Omg you have to get to master rank covalex contracts to get the xl-1/vk-00 BP
Do mining modules (like Sabir) have blueprints yet? Trying to imagine a game loop where I can keep a prospector inside an ironclad and live in the Aaron Halo, and fabricate mining modules as/if needed (once the onboard fabricator works)
G R I N D
at least the convalex missions all work and the elevators dont eat cargo, right? right!?!
Not to my knowledge
Only mining heads so far
Does Crafting components make them better?
salvage does too
Yes
Stileron, are its nodes mostly too big for a Golem?
Was going to ask if there is someone that could teach me how to mine but it looks like the verse is undergoing a major solar event atm
Is there a ship size or mass that the vulture is limited in scraping?
Have they already implimented the new quality bands for minables? (I heard they all would fall within 8 groups?)
And if so is there a cheat sheet as to the quality bands?
For scraping, no. There is for fracturing though
I dont know if this was implemented yet
but those are the new bands if it was implemented
Beautiful. Tyvm
How is quality determined? RNG, Refine, Tools, Combo?
"It rolls 1000-sided die, and the number it generates established the quality.
So if it rolls a 355, that is in the 325 band and it rounds down to 325. if it rolls a 642, that is in the 664 band and rounds up to 664.
Got it, pure RNG lol. And I want band 5 of Aaron Halo generally right? For Stanton anyways.
I think anything better than band 1 will give bonuses to crafting
so as long as its 525 or higher you get a bonus.
band 1 is basically barebones
But its 874+ that you really want for maximum bonuses and sell value.
like I said, I dont know if this was implemented yet. this could be entirely hypothetical
Gotch, thank you! I’m mainly a role player, but I still want access to good stuff and bonuses lol
Highest I've found so far is some 855 copper. Probably going to go towards a pair of Abrade scrapers for my Vulture.
I’m trying to decide between Vulture or Moth. I’m primarily interested in scraping RMC for my org to maintain their stocks for RRR, but the bonus of CMAT is nice too. Videos I’ve seen of the Moth are from earlier patches where people say that scraping is bugged, has this been fixed? Sell me on either the Moth or Vulture!
The ironclad is so easy to load
Just flip it upside down and throw boxes up into with the Atls
Are you savaging solo or with your organization? If with org then mole, if solo, vulture. Moth, like the Reclaimer, is better in a group.
Moth’s lasers, individually, each scrape slower than a vulture
for cmats moth is great solo. if you want to focus on rmc and have cmat as a bonus, id go vulture
its a little slow, but the Command Module makes for a great replacement to the MPUV-T. More room for cargo
quick question..what size stor all is best for keeping minerals/metals organized
IC not calibrating for jump? Any work arounds for that, I havent r un into it yet/before
nvm got it sorted
I think its trying to use the pods range, not the ICs
at the start of salvage you need to use a med/small ship (cig has yet got it thru their brains a reclaimer has no access to MANY stations to do most contract deliveris)..but once you get up in rep..reclaimer is the king 🙂
Now the inner door from the command module into the IC wont open? Even with open all doors
yeah we had the same problem. lots of problems really but that was one of them
filled the damn thing to capacity with cargo and the hangar ate it, but did us a a favor and left the command module in pieces right in the middle
thats what we were gonna do but it had other plans. and we tried to jump to pyro 3 times and it does a massive 180 as soon as we enter the tunnel...
ooof. I plan to try to go to nyx tonight, but we will see.
I forgot how bad the Jnr hauling missions sux lol
nice it's only gonna be 8-10 missions to member
Its been added, in 4.8. Did a bunch of hand mining yesterday, and each type of gem only had the 8 different quality bands
Can stored Ore bags in a ships Cargo area be refined from if the ship is stored?
I can't do any pyro hauling missions in an ironclad right? Command module freaks out?
Howdy fellow citizens, what hauling/industrial missions scale fastest and can make quick money while I have access to defensecon ships? It's been a while since I've done any indutrial stuff.
OH yeah and how's the ironclad working out?
I just got it
I'm staring at it in my hangar
Looks pretty sick
Hoping to rack in some insane cash tonight
I've heard it doesn't go through jump holes.
yeah its apparently bugged
my entire fleet is bugged to a degree right now
yes same in stanton with the ironclad. Its a hit or miss with both the ironclads and any other ship that uses the command module.
WTH happen to salvage since I been gone?
everything !
Is it worth upgrading to the Constellation Taurus for hauling from the cutlass black?
no, Get Corsair instead, far better.
its available right now, tomorrow may not be.
if you want a pure cargo ship, get the RAFT instead. 192 scu.
Thought about getting the pillar but after renting it there’s so many bugs it’s wild
Died 3 times in it
Is it possible to disassemble bricked ship weapons? I don't think any of them fit inside the fabricator
what is a reasonable amount of aEUC to make per hour?
I'm happy with around 300-400k/hr when I'm focusing on money but mostly I focus on fun/hr
I just did one mission that was 510k took 30mins and yesterday I did one that paid 30k and took 45mins but had equal fun
I thought you could disassemble from local inventory. Dunno, I haven't tried, but I think I read that somewhere
Do i Need to unload my cargo into station before be able to sell em, or can i sell them directly from ships cargo bay?
In theory you can auto unload stuff you are selling. In practice it's buggy and might not work. Manually unloading is more reliable.
i make around 1 mil an hour currently, thats the usual ammount
If you can it didn't work last night. You can craft into local inventory but I didn't see anything to disassemble that way.
How does it work, auto unload?
might be a bug, might be I misunderstood
go to TDD / admin, wherever you are selling, pick your ship from the drop down, choose what you want to sell. Pay a small fee, and wait some amount of time.
Gonna try
You can make a ton more/hr with combat gauntlets because the gauntlet #7 isn't spawning the hammerhead.
i know, but it doesnt respawn very fast
Just do crusader, then hurston 4+7 and 6 if your ship is enough for a connie, then jump to hurston
But, it's kinda meh since you don't get the useful rep.
Nice if you wanna build favors for wikelo though
aight gonna have to try that out then
man the combat gauntlets are so weird to me. Like, why is this dude paying YOU so much money to take his training course. It makes no sense.
They should just be 1 time missions that lead to a new set of repeatable missions.
I'm OK with them existing as an easy place to go test a ship or loadout against a known set / type of enemies, but maybe they only pay you the first time. Or maybe they don't pay you at all, but they do open up something new like you said, kinda like how the bounty hunter missions have the test missions that you have to pay for.
question about pyro, is it still heavy on PvP, just wondering about hauling over there, been told it make good money compared to Stanton, also what can you do in Nyx?
Is anyone actually making good money with salvage or just sticking to bounty
not had any issues at all in Pyro, pretty quiet at the moment, just be aware of your surroundings
some locations. Some of the outposts in particular. In general no, but hauling missions might take you to outposts that are a little hot. But what Fitzie said
Uh... Is there a way to anchor my Asgard at Euterpe?
It keeps getting blown away. I'm afraid to leave it, cuz I won't be able to get back. It's being ragdolled out here
yeah you'll learn which ones to avoid (I think shepherds rest is one of the no goes)
gotcha, thanks, was planning to do some hauls with some friends for freefly they like doing cargo kind
Im trying to figure out how to use the mining gadgets, anyone available to coach me?
oh that reminds me, do you need batteries for the multitool now?
Gadget, get out of ship, take gadget in hands, snap it onto the rock, calibrate (above 90%), power it on.
Profit.
Active module, just press Alt + 1/2/3
What happens when you place it on the rock and its in the mesh, just out of luck?
Pretty much
Anyone have any suggestions for completing my first contract in 4.8? I think it bugged. Please click link below to see the details. Thanks
Temp check- Golem or Prospector for solo mining? Gonna have one sitting in my Ironchad and use the Chad to store full and spare pods
Both good, prospector better
Hull B does auto loading of cargo on the same contracts which auto load on the Hull C right?
No, hull b doesn’t do any autoloading like the hull c yet
Anyone wana do some duo (or more) salvaging/mining. I am super new and only did cargo missions so far and wana switch it up a bit
We can do salvaging, it’s quite lucrative
Can abrades be placed on salvation? Or is it bespoke?
bruh
Hi, so I took out my Golem to do some mining in the Glaciem Ring, 90% of the rocks I find are marked as "Impossible"
Is this normal, just bad luck or am I doing something wrong ?
This is normal. Golem is fairly weak and in Nyx and Pyro most rocks are very large / massive. Depends on the ore. I am also flying a Golem currently and been mining fairly successfully in Stanton.
I'm trying to do a massive haul with the IC (though I only bought 320 scu (or 20*16scu) of drake ore pods so only a fraction of the IC's potential is harnessed) and figured Nyx would be a good way to avoid unwanted attention as it's so damn empty
Do you reckon Stanton is worth it despite the increased population and the bugs that come with it ?
Yeah definitely. The only rocks that you would be able to comfortably mine in Nyx would be Iron, Ice and those other cheap ones. Anything above is gonna be hard. What I would recommend is going to a random moon, let's say Wala, and mine to your heart's content.
If you don't want to surface mine then I can only recommend Aaron Halo. I am saying this because from my experience every single lagrange point has been filled with abandoned rented ships and the only couple of asteroids I found were taranite or bexalite ones with masses over 20k.
Consult https://scmdb.net/?page=mine if you wanna check out which locations have which ressources.
yeah I don't mind the mineable being cheap (I'm going for quantity over quality after all)
I would prefer space as it has less traffic and more space to hide than planets or moons, so i guess I'll head to the Aaron Halo.
Thanks for your detailed response !
Can you steal a NPC starfarer and use it for refueling missions ?
can anyone point me towards the best place to do hand mining? or is there a resource online that I can go look at for that?
Turns out... I can't get through to Stanton every time I go through the wormhole I get kicked off QT and teleported to the center of Nyx
Guess I'll stick to the Glaciem Ring x)
It's the server. You somtimes gotta try multiple times.
You can check https://scmdb.net/?page=mine for different locations and it will show which gems spawn where and a rough spawnrate for them.
I gave it 3 tries, at this point I'll wait for the HOTFIX before heading to another system
That's old. You can either try again or try server-hopping
I just got sticks for the first time and set up all my flying/salvaging binds. Is there a way to use my mouse while in gimbal mode instead of using stick? Without messing up all the key binds?
has anyone swapped out the ore bags on a prospector yet? im wondering if the new insured loadout will make the argo ones persist now. would be awesome if so
whats the best missions to find NPC cargo to sell these days?
salvage
welp the server ate my Ironclad...
I had 150Scu of ore...
more importantly I lost the 20 drake ore pods that they me back half a mil...
time to head to bed ig
This is why this kind of complex logistics solo kinda sucks, too many ways it can go wrong
we lost one full to the brim of titanium last night. its a very cool ship but its just in a bad place right now
FYI for salvagers struggling to sell their refined CMAT... you have to go back to your hangar after receiving it from refinery, bring it up the elevator and put it back down again and the sale will go through
solo or otherwise, too many eggs in one basket is destined for heart break in this game.
What I do if I want to store up a collection of bags full of ore, I just dump them down an outpost elevator and repair on the pad for new bags
The base Ironclad only offers 3 (poorly placed, poor arcs) tractor beans and ~50% extra on-grid cargo over the assault, which instead offers repair & rearm, bonus weapons, and a fabricator
Is off grid storage actually an issue?
Even if looking purely for industrial gameplay, it feels to me like the assault is the better option (especially if considering things like stuffing a couple smaller ships in and going on longer expeditions).
Any one think otherwise that can convince me? I'll be picking up one or the other for my mostly-industrial fleet
yo did they remove the ability to stack hauling missions??
it seems to be an intermittent problem. i could stack yesterday, today i couldnt. same with salvage
Even when the problems get fixed they did limit the number of quests we can accept at once, so that’ll affect it too
yeah true, the cooldowns are longer too i feel on abandoning contracts as well
Isn't it the problem mentioned in the patch notes; "Known issue that will require a full future build
mobiGlas - After accepting a mission, the "Accept" button for all other missions will be greyed out until the player cycles the mobiGlas". I seem to have had luck by accepting the first one, closing mobiGlas and reopening it and then I can add more?
They can
Thank you!! Just didn't want to buy them if I couldnt
Golem Mining: Aside from having the laser out with M, how to get this Laser Range bar to activate? I'm very close to a Tin Ore in space but the bar shows nothing
First time mining in 4.8
Ok, so I realized part of the problem. I need to find "Asteroids", not "Tin"
what do you even do with big rocks that just say "Tin"?
What do you mean by just "Tin"? Can you show more of your screen?
Instead of "Asteroid - M Type" it says "Tin (Ore)"
and I know I'm on "Extraciton" mode in the screenshot
"Asteroid - M Type" Asteroids don't exist anymore. They are now categorized by type of ore. I'll send in a screenshot of a list of asteroid compositions in a moment.
This is a server bug that happens when a server is overloaded. Fairly old too. You gotta wait til the server catches up to you trying to scan asteroids or just server hop instead.
Ok fantastic thank you! I will log off and try another server.
I can't send in images for some reason but here is the link to the overview I was talking about. https://frontierconsolidated.com/api/media/27f21546-bc42-4624-b2ef-374c8d33246d/Mineables Index.webp
excellent thank you
The "Tin (Ore)" would be the one where Tin is the primary mineable
Very good to know - I didn't know about the change, or the bug. Makes sense, I appreciate it
I just noticed that your mining mode seems to be bugged in general. It seems that you don't even have any cargo space. Maybe try reopening it a couple of times until it registers your ore pods.
I see that! It says 0 SCU, which I'm sure is an issue
Why can't the Reclaimer land at Orison now? It's now requesting that I dock instead
I detached and re-attached the Ore pods and now I'm 0/32 SCU for mineral capacity
Appreciate the help!!!
Nice work!
I saw your message yesterday and managed to test it today. I have noticed that the argo bags are not insurable meaning it would be just like before the patch where you would have to buy new ones every time
okay dang. ill just buy extra like last patch, thanks for the heads up
Where can I sell Construction Materials?
See on !cargo websites.
These websites can be used for finding/planning trade routes, simulating trade prices, and more:
• SC Trade Tools
• United Express Corp (UEX)
• Galactic Logistics
• Cargo Grid planner
Also check out the #industrial-professions channel for questions about cargo running, recommended ships, etc
Can we split up boxes now? like if I have a 2SCU box of iron can I make two 1 SCU?
I tried UEX, but that didn't work, but I'll try the others, thank ya
no way i just spent 40 minutes mining torite just to only make like 40k
Is the fortune the slowest scraper?
can anyone lemme know where I find Hathor Caves for handmining? I havent done hand mining since like... 3.xx?
Or should I do handmining elsewhere?
i usually just pick a planet and drive around scanning then hop out with an atls geo when i find some. pretty reliable for me
is it necessary to do an atls? or can I just use the multitool?
and where do I get an atls geo?
multitool is fine, i just like the geo i think it works better. the geo can be found at new deal
It jumps
yep. and i get to cosplay as ridley. win-win
Hathor is an open world event filled with pvp, wouldnt recommend if you are just trying to mine
A whole Tac hanging out just to cover the atls geo
opinions on the fastest loop to get through covalex senior?
question salvage missions after senior are there different once?
4.7 the 100k was most I could get. Right now its the 10k for the c2 m2 a2 and 890 jump. If anyone knows would be great to know.
Is the salvation any good when paired with a ironclad or polaris? or is it more worth it to get a vulture?
Vulture is too big for the Ironclad IMO.
It fits but eats too much of the cargo space.
Vulture works better with a Polaris/890J/Idris.
Salvation will do great with the Ironclad.
Yeah im just wondering which one is the best for salvaging, and then i do have cargo ships if the capacity of the salvagers are a problem. For example if a solo Vulture is better/faster than a salvation + ironclad combo.
But im guessing Vulture and Polaris is the best combo.
whats the best planet to do hauling at
As a mainly Cargo runner. I In two minds, do I keep the ironclad or rather use the Hull B. I mean i not sure I will fill the ironclad fully on one run. I could use the spare money on another ship.
For the salvagers out there, any one having issues with the Reclaimers crafting boxes?
Like it is not even an option?
The Ironclad has a bunch of bugs, I think, but it could also be used as a mobile base so...maybe? Depends on how many friends you have to play with?
I don’t think it’s a great option for solo play, for multi play once the issues are fixed it could serve a similar purpose as a carrier idris
In a slightly smaller, more accessible package
No problem making boxes on reclaimer
I do prefer the exterior loading anyway, and yes i prefer solo play.
anyone with veteran contractor with salvage adagio holdings?
does anyone know if that is a known issue with the hull b? cargo grid is partially borked at the lower part
nevermind, hangar ate it
Happens on most grids tbh
okay, well...i can't use the ship like that
and here i am thinking that hauling would be a good idea
I'll probably go back to salvage for a while
On top of what schmollanski said, you're in extraction mode, instead of fracture mode. You use fracture mode to break the rock apart, then use extraction mode to suck up the smaller pieces
Question, anyone here that has adagio holdings on veteran contractor?
4.7 the 100k was most I could get. Right now its the 10k for the c2 m2 a2 and 890 jump. If anyone knows would be great to know
He said that he was aware that he was in extraction mode lol
Storing and bringing it back up usually fixes it
Does Quartz even spawn in the glacium ring in Nyx?
So much time wasted.....
Also, thx. Was looking for a new site after Regolith
yeah RIP Regolith
I don't really like the layout on scmdb but it's the best site right now
Oh joy, can't do Shubin in Nyx bc quartz doesnt spawn here.
on some servers it is lol
Right now it shouldn't be too bad yeah, no one is really interdicting gates atm. Just annoying time wise.
OH
I CAN JUST TURN IN ALLUMINIUM
THx so much lmao
Lmao, does the mission give you back excess SCU at least? Like if I turn in 10 SCU for a 3SCU mission?
Yes
When the contract system is working
Perfect
just don’t buy more than can fit in the elevator you’re bringing it up in
If you send down 64 scu and it takes away less than 32, it’ll turn it into a 32 scu box that won’t fit up outpost elevators
Then I stand corrected
Don’t ask me how I know
This patch, while annoying that I can't get components from abandoned ships anymore, is a Salvagers paradise.
There are so many abandoned ships everywhere. I am offloading my Reclaimer into my Ironclad eva. It's very cool and works great.
Hi, I read that there was a specific way to lock the IC roof door open, what might that be?
Engineering console
On it, you'll see all doors in the ship. You can open and close them from there, and you can also lock them there, in which ever state you like
did they remove unverified salvage contracts?
Haven't seen any either. I think they did.
Whoops, was EVAing to move things to the IC from an external elevator, hit the wrong open/close button on the side of the CM, and the entire ship vanished 😅
Luckily I was just throwing Cruz bottles in it as a test.
Oof. Yeah I just unloaded about 1m in Cmat from mine
Would not be a happy camper hahaha
It was just the rental one, are those buggier than owned ones?
And I guess the workaround is to go down to the lower side gantries when needing to EVA.
Als, it's weird that the upper gantry door doesn't work in flight.
As that would seem a natural way to get into space above the roof door.
any profitable hauling routes yet? uexcorp info is still out of date
any reason refinery wont let me start refining construction pieces
as in it simply will not allow me to startr the work order
Has anyone messed with the high quality crafted mining lasers? Specifically the Helix 1 Prospector mining laser? Want to know if I can solo 30k mass rocks with it (this would be awesome)
Use SCtradetools
Nothing like mining 4 scu of 860 quality beryl only to get back to the refinery and find out game says I actually only have 1 scu. And that’s before refining😑
I swear this game at times. I got JS400 blueprints and I just wanna get the materials to craft them
Can I fit an ATLS in the Cats elevator? Definitely think that would help with loading/unloading
Does anyone have salvage rep veteran rank or higher?
For salvage is it better to grab contracts or find debris/wreckage randomly in the universe? Does gaining rep actually matter?
how much cargo space do you really need
Is an ironclad overkill
could a polaris serve as a cargo ship reasonably in play in your opinions
cargo needs depend on how you play. we make use of the ironclad everyday. we filled it up completely 3 times yesterday. but i also get by just fine with a hull b when im solo. it could be overkill or not
aye whats a good way to make some money in this currentm patch?
Industrial? I just loaded up on titanium veins
But combat is an easy peasy way to get capital, to then invest in more industrial gear
the gauntlets
Gauntlets are the fastest way?
Last night I was making like 500k an hour ultra casually doing gauntlets
Could probably triple that if you sweat
I been doing those and made around 4 million in 1/5 hours but so boring
true
Hello industry people, quick question, is there a setup you guys would recommend for mining just enought to make weapons/armor from blueprints? Im not a huge industry person so I've never touched mining, but I would like to start crafting things
id start with a prospector with e helix mining head and focus 3 modules for most rocks. i will sometimes need to swap out to reiger c3 mods for tougher rocks but the helix got power for days and dont really need the reiger that often.
i always swap out the stock ore bags on the preospector for argo mole bags.
they are sold at refineries. to equip, you need to unlock all the ports on your ship then pull up the argo bags in the elevator in your hangar. pull the old ones off with a maxlift and attach the new ones then relock ports. gives you much more capacity to stay out in the verse longer.
and some patience. mining is fun but its an art really and takes some practice in regards to distance from rock, how much power to give or not give etc.
Hi, I asked this question earlier but did not see a response, IRT the Reclaimer, do the salvage processors work? When I look at the screen on the processor there are no options. Anyone else having this issue. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the advice man!!
not sure what you mean, like printing boxes? i haven't heard of that not working,
I grab the ones you pay for fees cause you can come across ships with containers in them or a player nearby that you can attack and steal their loot
I'm new to this salvage rep thing now, is it worth to salvage nowadays I see there r no more illegal contacts
Ive been unable to find a covalex intro misison, any idea where they spawn?
Anyone that has veteran rank with salvage? I would like to know if there are other missions there or is senior the celling for now.
Not yet I'm close to veteran. But you can check scmdb and it should tell you if there are more missions
SmokeyMuddog. If you enjoy salvage for money then yes its worth doing. You can beside scrape and munch. You can take the components and get materials from then throwing them in the fabricator.
But I'm not salavageing, I'm just selling the cargo so Sr is all I need
I looked there and I cant see what the missions there actually spawn.
I am halfway in salvage senior.
I want to now grab the iron and titanium and do the mining missions.
But I haven't seen the 100 k missions yet what we had in 4.7
So not seeing the hull c I figured they might have moved it up to like a 100k mission
Or totally removed it
Well I just looked and nothing new is added after you get to senior. I know the missions changed this patch. No more hull c contracts and the price went up in Stanton at least
Yeah hull c is gone now
Same as Pyro
Hmm okey so then, I can focus on the next set of missions
But they are 20 in Stanton
For the blueprints
I didn't see it on that site either. So I thought maybe its outdated.
Ill still do the mission for money right now
Yeah I'm not to my money goal just yet, but I'm getting close then I'll start grinding for blueprints and then move on to mining so I can start crafting
I am grinding till the mole and components. Then I am good
I'm past that but I want a buffer. I use a prospector since my buddy has a mole, we just it when we both can mine
I just wished the reclaimer had a rework. Its annoying to go to a c2 with loot and you can take the loot since it doesn't fit in this capital ship haha
Are there intentions of a larger salvage ship than the reclaimer?
Yeah I use my hull b since I'm not actually salvaging. Loot the cargo then shoot it to complete. But yeah the reclaimer working would be nice
I need to get my asgard setup cause I need to grind several factions for rep on blueprints
Not larger but similar heavy salvagers
Then grab a prospector and start melting rocks. Need to get a geo for handmining as well
I think I'm gonna hard pivot to a full industrial hangar
I am grinding for my orgs who dont have ships. So they can start bringing in materials for crafting
Thats my loadout already
I still need to find an org. One that doesn't feel like a second job
Reclaimer, moth(I will replace), galaxy for refining, ironclad and merchant men to sell stuff at
4.8.1 - make ROC mining viable again...
Cargo and mining are my jam. I love ground ops and spaceship fighting too but industrial is just a vibe and I'm here for it
same
I think I'm gonna pivot to Polaris, Reclaimer, Arrastra, and C8R
I can't wait for moth to get sold in game. Then I will salvage.
im just over here blind firing on ROC minables hoping i dont blow it up in my face
I use the geo for roc mine ables anymore. Seems to work better for me
Atls geo is
At new deal
I love hand mining with it. Won't get rich that way but it's fun
And the jumps.
Yummy
I'm open to it. The ones I've looked at have just been like I gotta clock in and say sir, yes sir! Lol. Hard pass
is there a list where I can see which stuff give what material when scrapped/recycled?
yes and the fps stuff
i think theyre meaning components/weapons etc
i think scmdb has a list
thanksss!! will check it outt
that and the arrakis overlay are one of my favorite tools right now
Yeah scmdb and sccrafter are great tools
i loved regolith too, but alas...
Sad
i wish sc-market got a bit more love. i love the UI on it better than UEX but UEX has a bigger userbase cause its been around longer
im an industrialist/trader at heart (loved medical gameplay too but theyve blown that to hell and back)
Yeah I prefer SC trade tools to uex butni use uex more diento having more up to date info
i never used trade tools lol
ive always prefered to find the most profitable things out for myself, and then just use the sites to market it all off
or buy what i need
Alrighty
I appreciate it. I'll check it out
Make read the #rules_and_information please.
Ewww checking an unsolicitedly advertised org by some dude that can't read rules
Its a link to your own discord...
This game hates social tools and people connecting
We have to create the events our selfs to make the game and here they complain about a link in their own discord..
Thats why I dont recruit here this stuff
Rule is clear and simple. Strictly no org activity outside of the dedicated channel category.
Man go Karen somewhere else. It was a harmless link.
my fellow rock n stone brethren of SC...what is your favorite use of the atls geo: the box it comes with, transferring the contents into a store all, or buying a bunch of little boxes, hotswapping them, and sorting them out later?
I would take a mole for example park a geo in there. And add a 2 scu box on the grid and transfer the content to the 2scu box
Then when u come to the station tractor it to your terminal and place it next to it. Press i so you can see the stations inventory and on the otherside you open the box. And then drag it all in 1 go
What's the difference of ORE and RAW?
I'm sorry I guess. Won't happen again
Question I see that ore bags r registered to me but what happens if I buy a Bag and save that load out does this one get bricked?
solo - Hauling mining or salvaging?
Mining Mole bags
mining what specifically?
I posted a picture in the helpdesk chat.
You're good lol, I was joking.
So was i tbh
which group does interstellar direct halls?
Where do I find Ranta dung boys?
does hull b still allow station auto cargo transfers like hull c?
Salvaging.
Ive been living in my moth since 4.8 dropped and the $ is glorious
The money is okay from salvaging but selling the cargo from salvage contracts is where it's at.
@random patrol have you not had issues with the buffers not displaying correctly?
(I'm assuming you're crunching for profit)
You can find it in blue boxes at QV stations, in stacks of 3-5 usually, but its not a quaranteed spawn. I think I saw some show up as FPS harvestibles on Pyro 4
