any way to fix haphaestanite quality being unreadable?
@hard stirrup
you can see mineral names from further away, saving time
just go to omega pro and buy grade A industrial radar
Im using the Golem
Surveyor-Lite is the one for the golem IIRC
just check erkul to make sure
interesting, good to know. I hadn't thought to look into that, I was only aware of the aim assist differences in the radars. However, in S1, industrial grade A doesn't exist (according to Erkul), so get a grade A of some other type. Or something else with 100% RS sensitivity, many of them have that stat.
The RS signature of rocks barely shows up it sometimes flashes when you ping because of all the crap on the ground with all gems and harvestsabes showing
are we able to use three active modules at the same time? or only two still?
yes. no.
I answered your questions in order.
that is what I thought. Ill give it a shot then, thanks
it did work, but man, soloing most Lindinium asteroids is a pain lol
anyone here quickly wanna tell me what mining heads to use for the prospector and for the mole?
Full helix II on the mole?
For prospector I would use the helix with 2 surge and bring some FTLR or optimum module for the tiny rocks when minimum power is too much
And for the mole solo or crewed ?
for the mole, both probably. I don't wanna minmax, so I guess I just want one so I can solo it, and the best possible multicrew lasers
I suggested helix with 2 surge and a stamped or 3 surge /helix with 3 Rieger-C3 or 2 Rieger-C3 and a surge or stamped and for small rocks/sub breaks and to make rocks easier to mine hofstede with 2 XTR-XL for bigger green zone and more inert filtering or Torrent III and Focus III for faster crack and bigger green zone
to be fair, I don't need an extra big green zone...
What are the rules around refining stolen ore from a stolen ship?
If you put the bags in the freight elevator it should work
What is the new max extraction size for rocks?
Like 2.5 SCU
has anyone experimented with extract power? Wondering if that does anything now. With the new smaller extract threshold some of those modules might be pretty useful
ahh. Yeah that's not super helpful.
now if there was a way to increase scanning speed, I would be all over that.
really it would be great if it passively scanned all the rocks in front of you or something, so that at least after an initial crack you didn't have to individually focus on each rock to rescan them.
Have you already switched to a non-industrial radar?
no, it's on my to-do list. I heard it increases range to see the rock name, does it also increase speed?
I don't know actually, all I know is the industrial radars are worse for mining
I know the time spent mining is 50% flying around 45% scanning and 5% actually mining
the industrial grade c is, the stock one. Industrial grad A has 100% RS sensitivity (same as the non industrial higher grade radars), but is only available in S2 for the Mole.
less so if you aren't hunting quality materials for crafting, but yes
So, my own brief testing with a better radar is all it does is give you the name of materials without a focused scan at 4km rather than 2-3km in the mole
Nice for low fly scanning, doesn’t do anything for frequency based scanning
Grain of salt, ofc
better than nothing
Taking the second mole with stock radar out tonight to confirm
I need to buy one more mole… so I can keep one in each system
Hi, what is a good ship for me to get i am a new player i have a drake corsair and want to do some salvage for the cargo i am sitting on 3.2 m
For salvage, at your price range, either a vulture or a fortune
I prefer the fortune, but the vulture is more economical (it will produce more value per hour solo)
And you're already used to the glory of Drake ships from your corsair, so you'll feel right at home in a Vulture
Is there any workaround for the Invalid Quantity Error (other than selling one by one)?
Got it on three out of three attempts to do hauling over the last few days
what are people loading up into their mole for iron nodes
Does this mean there's no more in demand I can sell here?
I sold 64 SCU and that was the max it seems? I still got 96 SCU left
anyone got some go advice for my first mining ship and what to look for
The golem is great
The prospector is good I think you can still put the mole bag on it and get 48scu and break slightly bigger rocks then the golem and has a bed and interior
But the golem is cheaper it’s faster and fits in the c2 or Asgard
awsome thanks brother
Anyone have an idea why when I refined some construction rubble, my 25 1scu boxes stayed in my local inventory at HUR-L2 and just became "empty"? I had the construction material, but the boxes were completely empty couldn't get rid of them etc unless I chucked them into the atmosphere
Might be something i missed recently on the salvage upddates since I haven't done salvage in like 6 months, but it was kinda weird
Will I find any good quality resources in stanton, or is the best stuff found in Pyro?
you will yea, if you look long enough
Best I found of the item I'm searching for so far was 620
Need 800+ gold, might be too annoying to hunt.
750+ should be relatively easy to find, but... i do kinda feel like i'm finding more 800-900 in pyro. iunno. seems to go back and forth, i wish i was actually collecting data on a site like regolith.rocks to see real rates
And is there any tip to getting the scan to go faster on the rock to see its contents? Seems to take a full 40-60 seconds in my golem
yes
get on a better server
it's all about server FPS
5 fps servers are awful for mining
hmm, guess this one is hovering between 7.5 and 15
also, the fps can vary wildly based on where you are mining
a 600 server can have 20+ fps in pyro because few people are there
indeed
The few times I've been in nyx I've always had 30 server fps
idk I'd that's shard/server related
Thoughts on the Hull-C for hauling now? I've also heard the Hull-B is close?
Wednesday.
Ugh I hope the next updates have something to do with salvage
For Prospectors doing runs to the Aaron Halo is the Atlas/Palisade still the preferred QD/Shield combo?
Highly recommend stealth loadout over anything else for industrial ships.
Most fights you're not escaping anyway, may as well just avoid them.
As for the QD, if you're not going to mine quantainium, then also stealth. Else, the fastest one.
Has hostile activity increased that much in 4.7 for Stanton? I've only had a few encounters when mining in the past - to the point I'd be better off sticking with faster mining and take the loss if I get caught.
I've heard people using all stealth in Nyx for the higher profit ores, but not for Stanton
Having stealth components doesn't make your ship any worse at mining, so there not really a reason not to run stealth components
And if you weren't concerned about encounters idk why you even worried about shields.
In particular, I'm trying to reduce travel time
That's all on QD and only QD.
shields in case I overheat a rock - or do shields not protect from that?
All shields will protect the same way regarding this.
that is good to know - I had assumed stronger shields protected better
Assuming an exploding rock counts as a ballistic attack, no. All shields have the same ballistic absorption and resistance at the moment.
Energy resistance does vary between shield types now
beloved haulers of the verse, what the hell is the trick to loading the c2? With the ATLS it's horrible and it struggles maximizing the usage of the space (always skipping 1-2 grids further inwards in the ship), also is the 696 SCU cap counting the open space in the middle? Had to load some 32SCU crates gridless despite it supposedly being more than enough space (635 SCU worth of cargo divided by 2 missions, but 696 space and still had to go off grid???)
Yes, its 696 not counting the empty space in the middle. You're stacking the containers two high right?
I'm stacking them yes
Actually, look at this
oh ffs i think it was cause of those stupid 2 scu box grid things
ugh, welp got it there in the end either way
Yeah lots of cargo grids have stupid 1scu wide section like that
SC gods just give me the ironclad so i dont have to worry about space ever again
2030-ish (hoping for good news next fleetweek)
i will sell my soul for an ironclad
such a beautiful piece of machinery
another drake W
I was gonna say every drake ship is a W, but then I'd be lying
drake has not made a bad ship
smh
(definitely not biased, but every ship i have except the c2 is drake)
The cutter:
I'm a drake man myself, but I have a hatred for that ugly little thing
Is it objecitvely a good ship? Yes. Do I still hate it? yes
my lil space train
never owned one and I never will
lies
100i wipes the floor with the cutter
nuh uh
Keep gaslighting yourself then, I'll just keep passing you in style while you fly your brick
I hadn't thought about it like that, I hate that you're right
Even if you've tainted my view of the 100i, I'm still a cutter hater
always have been always will be
Hating cause flying it is a terrible experience
How would you know
its a beautiful zippy brick
I didn't say I've never flown one before, Ive just never owned one
yk what
you dont deserve to own one
I'm getting Drake to ban you from buying their ships
Fine by me, thats like saying I can't buy anything from the shit isle at the grocery store anymore
no cutty, corsair, golem, ironclad, vulture, caterpillar or buccaneer for you
Hey now, lets not be unreasonable
I've got a red pledged, its my baby
You can't just take it away from me all the sudden
you can get a cutter scout cause wth does the cutter scout do
enjoy your pizza disk
I'd rather die
after the disrespect it's justified
Every great car brand has made at least one shitty car
Doesn't mean all their other cars are shit too
The cutty's are 👌
indeed
I'm glad we can agree
People who say the shiv is better than the cutty are heretics, how can you beat the OG?
Move on.
The shiv does ship combat better than a cutty, don’t think that’s really disputable, but the cutty is better in other ways
Like comfortably fitting xxs vehicles like bikes, roc, carrying people/equipment/cargo, landing and getting on the ground or off the ground and taking off,
Shiv since 4.7 only works good against ships its size or solo larger ships.
Because it has so low armor any light fighter can damage it without getting hit and it's too big to avoid shots from larger crewed ships.
It's still pretty op, but eh, shitty armor
Personally I don't think there is a comparison. The Shiv is the superior dog fighter, but several other metrics can make the Cutty better for a player.
Since the armor update I don’t feel there’s a reason for me to bring out the shiv, for most purposes I was using the shiv I’m now better off pulling out the TAC or an Asgard.
I was primarily using it for small quantities of high value cargo so I can fight back if interdicted
I just dodge interdiction, and speed is my best weapon.
Now… I can just fly a ship that is nearly immune to the lower skilled players I had a chance against 1 vs N’ing
If it's a small amount of cargo, I'll actually use an Avenger
Yea avenger is great for that
Now I feel safer jumping around in my mole than in a shiv
I found 2 SCU of 991 iron !
Which system?
Does it generally feel like there’s more quantity of higher value stuff in pyro to you?
I got jumped by 2 players in Hornets and I took both out in my Shiv but I have a good feel for it. Interdiction for me is about not getting interdicted at all. Plan alternet routes, and if you see the static, instantly drop out of QT as you are too far to be detected even if piloting a large ship.
I'll grab a contract or partial jump to some random place in space, QT part way to it and then route an interdict immune path to my destination
Pyro
I think pyro has better ore
100% the best option is not getting interdicted, but I like layers of protection
Why when hauling ore bags with 900+ qual I wait for a dedicated hauler I can escort
Or if in my mole get security to clear the station I’m taking it to
It’s just good practice
When solo you take the risks you have to
(We had an empty prospector that was going back to repair last night get jumped by 2 asgards at gaslight)
But pilot survived and security took them out after
i need help, refinery doesnt let me refine anything, if i click all of my ores and get the quote, then click the confirm, everything closes and im back to the location selection, if i get only Titanium on example, it lets me click and start the refining, but the refining never starts, it closes all windows again and i still have the same amount of ore in my ship
That’s happened to me before, I had to take the bags off of whatever ship they were on and refine from station
Have you tried refining it at a different location? At the start of the patch, I tried setting up a refinery order in checkmate, but it just would not go through. I went to orbituary instead, and it worked first try
how do you remove the bags from the prospector, i tried everything but they just wont detach
Unlock ports from the pilot seat, right alt k
🤔 try lowering the shields, maybe some weird ownership issue?
i may be geniunely special
ive been pressing left alt instead of right alt for several tens of minutes
been there
So I’m new to the game and I came accidentally 12 SCU of diamonds and 4 scu of gold
How and where should I sell it
Also looking for players to play with as I’m a solo player lol
you can use https://uexcorp.space/ to find info on where to sell/buy commodities
or that one too
or that one too
Thank you guys!
there are ownership flags on crates, so it may well show up as stolen when you go to sell it. Which means there will only be a few places that will take it.
true, you'll have to take it to somewhere with a No Questions Asked terminal
On UEX, anything marked with that red eye symbol is a NQA terminal
kinda strikes me as odd that ALL the terminals in Pyro aren't NQA. It would certainly fit
Yeah true
Well, most of them are it seems.
vs
the gateway is the only one that won't take stolen cargo, which makes sense, that's a UEE station
Why can’t they make mining ships scan rocks faster or be able to scan a whole cluster
Spending hours flying around looking for a rock would be ok if you didn’t have to stare at every rock for 5 minutes waiting for it to scan
I think that is the primary complaint right now. It must be latency affected too because it can take forever to scan in places like Stanton and nearly instant in Pyro, but even that seems to degrade along with radar pings basically breaking.
server fps is everything for scan speed
I’m curious how it actually functions and why, like why does the server take so long to return this data
Before 4.7 there was evidence that it was a relatively static value, per server, aka a rock at position xyz on shard 010 would always have a rock with these values and this type
The server hampsters have to spin a virtual slot machine to determine the rock's stats, problem is the slot machine is also affected by server performance
You could return to the same location after a period of time and the original rock you broke would be regenerated
I haven’t noticed the same happening since 4.7, but I also haven’t really tried to recreate it
has hauling been improved at all since last hotfix? right after patch there was like a 50% chance I lost my ship using autoload
dont use autoload and throw the Hull C tothe garbage, it is BROKEN.
never got the hull c thankfully 🙂
I used autoload prob over 100 times on 4.6 with 100% success
4.7 diff story
Hope they can get it back to 4.6 state
Anyone ever seen this? Shield in my Mole won't turn on
Ok I can't paste image in. Am in the right mode. Shield is powered. No shield on the top left GUI and a warning middle screen "Alert: Shields Down"
How long can it take to find good quality materials for crafting?
Been happening to me in random shippps, try cycling nav/scm
Yeah I've cycled, stored, mucked with power - no change! Will see if claiming the ship fixes it
weird. checked shield gen health with your multitool?
Is the Constellation Taurus any good still? Or does the Zeus just outrun it in every way?
Reclaiming hte ship fixed it heh
Anyone know of an alternative site to Regolith for refinery info?
press o
o toggles your shield on and off, even if power is applied in the mfd it will still be off
Zeus is a totally different ship. And a terrible cargo ship
I think Zeus is a fine alternative to a cutty black if you just hate drake
How do I get hull c hauling contracts
Was the Reclaimer discussed getting some rework and if so is this going to negatively impact how the vessel works currently?
nope. at all.
rise up your hauling rep.
Do they appear at a certain level?
yup.
Very first level.
Any contract that's to<->from LEO and gateway station can be done with the Hull-C.
And at experienced level, you unlock contracts with more cargo that any other ship than the Hull-C can take.
Ok ty
Hull B tractor beam actually works yay
Anyone got much experience with the Hull-B yet? How is it compared to say a c2? (closest in terms of scu i figure)
Easy to load/unload, tractor beams have good coverage
Ship is seriously starved on power
Falls over if you as much as look at it (like the Hull A does)
Uses medium hangars so have to deal with small freight elevators for loading inside (should use large tbh) although it does fit fine when extended
handles nice for a ship of its size
usual misc vis stuffs
nice interior
How cozy is the living space on the Hull B?
Did they do sth about the Invalid Quantity Error?
If they push the free fly as a dedicated Industrial event and have half the loops impossible to play I am gonna lose it
Would you say it's worth the 280 bucks? Or problematic enough that you should stick with a c2 or similar big haulers? Tempted to buy it but there aren't much but first impressions yet
No ship in SC is worth 280 bucks tbh but it does sit in the correct price bracket for it's size.
I've only done one mission so honestly not spent enough time to make a verdict
ah yeah fair enough
My biggest issue is the shambles hauling is in right now, I struggled to find a contract that took full advantage of this ship
Wdym its in shambles?
I've heard a few people mentioning that hauling sucks now, do you say that cause of the SCU amounts in the contracts or bugs?
It's absolutely all over the place, no polish, the contracts don't make any sense from a logistics point of view (I actually work in the industry and I'd redesign the whole thing)
The pay rates are very random, like rookie missions paying more than master
Yeah that has annoyed the hell out of me, I could do like 3 member rank SMALL missions for the same pay as 2 experienced large ones
I feel like pay should at least somewhat scale with size of shipment
At this point I just do it for fun and don't consider credits at all
im broke and its my only way of earning big money and im too lazy to grind a diff job now
but i might as well just take a bunch of small contracts and earn 5x what i would with large, higher ranked contracts
Potentially would be good for trading
But risk/reward
At the moment if you have good rep in Pyro the haulage missions are viable due to being broken
I haven't stepped foot out of stanton yet lmao, i'm legit only ranked with covalex
The 660k master mission is straight A-B because only one of the locations has the cargo
i might've accidentally done one red wind haul i think idk
can it safely take on npc valks
I just want my beloved ironclad 😭 but then i saw it was 450 bucks and now im disliking the game
4 S2 shields, 40k body hp, 2 S3 pilot guns
didn't check armor
CCU chains ftw
hmm… might need be a bit agile to reasonably do 33k and above bit zero contracts then
You can't even fully power the shield its so starved on power
And I’m betting it’s not
Theres your armor values
Had like connie level handling from what I saw
nevermind, connie is less agile than I thought
Yeah it turns well until they nerf it
Asgard still the ship of choice for those contracts for sure
It'd be silly to nerf the handling of a pure cargo hauler, but it is CIG, so 🤷
So any news if they gonna fix the quality/bulk sell bug in 4.7.1? Cause it sucks as hell.
You having to sell one at a time too?
Yup. Everyone does, so long as the commodity has a quality rating. There are commodities without a quality rating still, which can be sell in bulk, i.e Stims.
They say it’s fixed
• Added support for resource containers of different qualities to stack when selling commodities at a kiosk while using the vehicle view
Need to test!
what is the best hauling contract route for the hull c?
Stacking Stellar contracts makes huge money.
Speaking of Hull-C.. when on earth are they gonna fix the load/unload issues with it. I have the worst luck even when I try all the tricks.
Thank you
Wow. That's a wild keybind. Cheers!
has anyone sold commodites in 4.7.1 yet? Is bulk selling back in the game ?
the patch notes says you can from a vehilce but doesn't specificy if you can now again from the freight elevator
Added support for resource containers of different qualities to stack when selling commodities at a kiosk while using the vehicle view
Also the note doesn’t say that same quality stacking was added 🙁
My bet is with the new transport system rework they said will be done in 1-2 years
1-2 years??? Yikesss
Just a guess. Could be wrong. I have a feeling they don’t wanna waste a lot of time putting endless bandaids on a system that’s getting replaced in a year
holy shit
a timely patch of a majorly disrupting error? Is this even CIG?
nice
I wouldnt think the hull c cargo loading is in any way related to the transport system
Transport system is for things that move players
Ah okay ya could be right. I don’t work there I have no idea lol
I had just assumed it was also for hangars moving ships and skus loading
Let me know if it works. The wording makes me think the major issues still there
on that
anytime. I had that issue for a few hours and could not for the life of me figure out why I coudln't turn my shields on lol
really hope we get some more salvage contracts in nyx- like the payable fee ones to generate a ship, when there's not many player ships around
‘Ship hangar servicing’ had its first playable gate, which was met favorably. The team is now working on preparing it for the content teams.
Anyone know what this is ?
Re-arm and refuel in a ship hangar (polaris, Idris, Tac). I believe the required fuel / ammo must be on the ships cargo grid.
So I was asking in CCU fleet advice, but maybe here might be better, I'm thinking of melting my anvil paladin that should give me some extra store credit. I have a RSI Hermes. My question is also having an Asgard that can haul internally. Should I melt and downgrade to the raft instead of the Hermes or upgraded to the hull B
I don’t quite understand what your goals are at this point
Raft is a great ship to have, I don’t like the hermes but it’s a fine ship for hauling, has more space than an Asgard but an Asgard can carry bigger vehicles, so it has a secondary purpose that the hermes and raft can’t do, etc
Personally I’d want the raft, hull b, and Asgard.
Raft for medium hauling, Asgard for vehicle/misc hauling, hull b for large hauling
holy fuel tank on the hull-B
this thing is awesome - glad i get to try it out as a subscriber
Ok when refining do you guys refine everything and sell the low grade or just pick a benchmark qty and abandon the lower stuff?
I don't like the Hermes either that why I was considering upgrading it to a hull b, I just realized it's in a multi ship combo so I can't melt and buy back or I'll loose my zeus
i refine everything and let the manufacturing division deal with it
Ya'll got a manufacturing division? Damn
damn that was annoying, does anyone here load a c2 with 32 box size with an atls as their loop?
it seemed almost impossible
the atls seems to always pickup the box and move it right infront of your view, so placing it in the right spot in the ship is very hard
the ground row wasnt as hard (still very hard) as the top row, which just seemed imposible on it
need like a 3rd person view way to do it
Quality question, can you find high quality resources if they are secondary to the main resource like hunting for tungsten inside an aluminum rock? Will it ever exceed 600? And if so, would it be more likely to find a higher quality resource if the ore you mined was the target ore?
Stand on the side at the top of the ramp, point towards the other side of the ship, hold Z to free look and aim left/right to pick up and place
The top row the 32s suck to place, you can usually fit 4 on bottom and 3 on top fore/aft without having to struggle with it hitting the ceiling
The front section is pretty easy to hit 3 bottom/3 top
Are you able to load 640 sku? How long does it take. Was 29 minutes my first try lol
If you off grid you can load 20x32 (640) pretty quick
But if I have the option I’ll usually do 16s
Oh, that's because you have OCD. You can put LOADS of cargo into the C2 if you just punt them directly to the the closed front ramp of the ship. I loaded probably 900+ SCU of cargo, grab box with ATLS, aim at ceiling of C2 from the ground while holding right mouse button, release, box slams into the ship and you get a mess of cargo. You can then dump the cargo at your destination by opening the front door from the pilot seat.
16 does seem faster
Its sooo much faster if you don't care about being "neat" or "organized"
For real ? Lmao this sounds hilarious
I was trying to grid them cuz when I don’t my hangar eats some of the boxes when I lower ship to sell
Absolutely. You don't need to stack boxes on grid, that's the epitomy of inefficient when it comes to the C2.
Also, I don't know if this is a glitch or a feature, but when I stored my ship with cargo all over the hangar floor the cargo of course vanished, but then magically appeared inside my station inventory.
Definitely worth testing.
Oh ya I didn’t check my station inventory when it happened
I was honestly trying to delete it because it was a ton of spare scrap, but no... it was stored alongside my ship.
When you unload do you also use atls?
After I dump whatever falls out, yes, and you can literraly kick the boxes into the back of the cargo elevator and send them down.
Oh man I thought it wouldn’t close without it snapped to grid lmao
I’ve been playing all wrong
Bear in mind, I have not bothered with cargo since 4.4, or whenever the last major hauling event was, but that's how it was done and pretty sure I've seen plenty of video evidence that it can still be done that way.
I’ll try it out
I’ve only done it since 4.6
What size boxes does this work best with. I have a feeling 32s won’t do that
They sure will
The bigger the better, IMO. The trick is to get the box to show RED on the target area. If its showing green or grid blue, when you release right mouse button it won't go anywhere.
So you gotta aim at walls and ceilings towards your target punt area.
Gotcha
it'll cap out around 750ish
in other words not worth focusing on, but it's a nice bonus when it hits 750
rockbreaker now has only savrilium, and quality-wise... we got better quality from our run before 4.7.1, so if it's better it's not guarenteed better
best i got was around 750
found 2 985 sadaryx tho
anyone know if hull c can load/unload in admin terminal
or it has to use that loading box
You either use the loading box, or you load it manually with an external freight elevator
they did but somehow some of the stuff is just unsellable now... stowing and unstowing helped recover some stuff but a lot of it still unsellable...
like I have 700 SCU of stims on grim hex and it only lets me select 0 of any container size...
also the MAX button still doesnt work
I like how QA is done by vibes I guess
is there some mining guide for 4.7? or some type of explainer / doctrine for how rock cracking is determined? im on a helix2 with double rieger c3 and surge staring at a 43k iron rock with 0% resistance and its showing impossible. but then a similar iron rock i was able to crack. and i have never found a savril rock i was able to crack.
whats determining its crackability? the resistance? the ore type? the mass? do mining gadgets that give -50 resistance help? i really cant find any info on mining other than "take these mining heads and modules" and yet i only seem to be able to crack maybe 1/5 of the rocks with this loadout
What are the biggest cluster sizes people have found of janalite?
Whats the go to build for the vulture?
Get abrades for the scraper heads, and then a fast QD. If you want, put on stealth components, a competition radar, and some attritions, but thats all extra
I have found 10-12 rock clusters on Clio/Eutrepe
Does ANYONE have an idea of how to get interstellar Covalex hauling missions? I can't get any and I am in the experienced range currently
hm did you check scmdb? you should see the requirements there
Yeah I see them, and I have ranks for some of them. But don't see them in mobi
interstellar covalex? that's a thing?
i've only ever seen red wind and ling
i think they got rid of those
pretty sure when they added external freight and removed some of the hull-c missions
ling goes from pyro-stanton, nyx-pyro and nyx-stanton
and stanton-pyro
i haven't gotten it past junior so i haven't seen bigger than rookie yet
ok
might have to check out their rep grind then, wanna do some interstellar in the Hull B
hull-B missions would be red wind
red wind has some bulk that are perfect for hull B
ok
this one's an example
I'll look at grinding up redwind rank then. how hard is the grind compared to covalex rep grind?
red wind? it's all interstellar, so its a bit more annoying than covalex
Yeah I have those missions.
but these are rookie
i did my red wind grind before they changed it from planetary to interstellar
Ok. Do they get bigger/more pay once out of rookie? I think I'm just barely into junior or almost oit of rookie with them
redwind I think has planetary stuff in pyro
ah
bear in mind you'll probably need to do 3 elevator loads btw
since the total weight is too large for medium hangar elevators
then you're good, i'm about to do the same
unless the server I'm on is griefernet detected lol
there's not anymore? oopsie daisy. I didn't haul in a long time. but I remember using the hull c for interstellar hauling between systems but I can't remember which company
yeah that was covalex, they got rid of the gateway hauling and the interstellar missions
now its all red wind and ling, from what i've seen, for interstellar
Yeah I'd like to get some of the decent inter-system bulk misions, even if it's 2-3 trips in a hull b, I can do a trade run on return trips
unless mission timer are a thing now haha
time to rep those I guess
changed around when nyx released with freight elevators
do you know if stanton red wind rep also counts for the pyro red wind one?
i miss my magnus to terra misson 🙁 that was so nice for member covalex grind
good question, not a clue
okay. because the red wind master rank in pyro always has been a unicorn for me
I will say I wish we had gotten some more URW armors this year, such as a Strata armor or similar
baijini has externals right
yes
Baijini Everus Seraphim and Tress from my experience
I don't know how many of the L stations have them, haven't found any eyt
are they these things?
I believe "Cargo Dock" is what you're looking for it to have when you click on it in mobimap
ahyep found em
yes
only place i'm not brave enough to use externals is pyro

it was never impossible to play cuz you could sell one at a time still, just took a longer to sell. You can bulk sell now
Hahahahaha I feel you there
One thing I did learn is the armiciste zones at the stanton stations prevent ship tractor beam use on external freight elevators, even tho handhelds work
Why not? I dont think I have seen another citizen in Pyro in months. Safest system in the verse
Absolutely a ghost town away from the CZs
most of the interstelllar missions take you to ruin checkmate etc
not to the outpost stations by rough and ready
Where yall selling stims at lately? Most places seem to be near full inventory 24/7
I think they reworked how fast demand changes or something, its not just stims
have you tried planet major cities TDD
maybe those have better demand refresh rates / higher cap
Sounds like it’s just capped on demand. Not a bug
See convo above
Another hidden change I see is the loading time has increased 60% on my c2
So far my most successful is landing c2 with cargo, storing it, and selling at Patch City
before the patch it was super fast so that doesn’t surprise me somehow
Lower price but they took 220scu of stims🤷🏼♂️
Ya it was 10 minutes for 16 size on my c2
I wonder if that was a bug due to stacking
Not sure. But it quotes me unloading time but doesn’t enforce it. Only loading is working it for preventing me from using ship during timer
4.7 has been hard to make money commodity hauling.
does LALT+J not work to dump mining bags anymore?
or how do i get inert stuff out of my bags now?
anyone out there think they can gtive me a hand. I need a some miners to mine some high quality materials.
i know how to mine , i just need more help
Try the ore sale terminals at a refinery deck.
biggest rentable cargo ship currently?
looking to hire some miners 20 mill a person i need 3
Raft?
Raft from lorville spaceport
I mean, if someone made a YouTube video showing a get rich quick scheme with selling some specific thing, like stims, it’s kinda expected that demand for selling it would skyrocket, killing the profitability of that strategy
Also why most “best routes” from tools like UEX are often not very good, because everyone looking for the best route is trying the best one, killing the profits
(It’s also always at least a few hours behind)
I came across a game-ruled corsair while out salvaging and i couldnt scrape it since it was shielded with all doors closed. Any weapons i should get for my vulture that are good against this?
Anyone having trouble with docking collars and hull c?
ty
Most ships with docking run into docking issues
All?
Sometimes there’s a desync between where it wants you to go and where the in ship ui tells you to go, which also breaks auto docking
Sometimes it just won’t let you leave
i hate dockign collars
probably biggest reason i despise ships that need 'em now
if i'm using the reclaimer i use external freight and then land on planets
Ships docked during a server error can be suddenly shifted to inside the docking collar, causing RUD
also, why the deadbolts? I would have thought the shotguns or the disruption weapons would have been better. I dont know shit about weapons xD
my favorite is when a ship just vanishes from your docking collar
of to babbage i go then
It’s prob more along the lines of demand used to fully restock in x hours. Now it’s x hours x 2-3 or something similar. 4.7 changed the math of how much profit you can make quite a bit so demand changes make sense to balance it back out. 4.7 changed the profits a lot because commodity prices per SKu went way up.
4.6 some of my best routes would cap out like 700k profit. 4.7 that went way up to 2+m
People also realized you could make 10mil an hour pulling cargo off of hull c salvage contracts
(Until suddenly there was no demand)
I used to be always gated on my trading by the sellers being out of stock
Now I gotta worry about the buyer
I don’t think it’s necessary a bad change but adds a bit more depth to the loops
Oh interesting. So another funnel could taking demand as well outside of what was happening in 4.6
I still have another source I keep in my back pocket, but the hull c one impacts it as well
I suppose could just be a surge also in people doing cargo now they fixed the selling bug
I was tracking the refresh rates for demand on heph and it was about 15 minutes to add 32 SKUs which is about a 8 hour refresh for the whole 1000 demand available in the pool
Maybe that’s the same as before
how do big hulls get loaded now? manual from outside cargo elevators?
that, or fidgeting with the cargo loading till it works or you give up
stored hangar cargo loading so far is much better in 4.7.1 vs 4.7
whats the best rep to max out for contracts you can autoload with hull c?
I auto loaded a refinery order into my Asgard last night, it stacked all the boxes by size into an overlapping explosion waiting to happen
Pull out one box and 30 more pop out of its slot
Anyone know what quantum drive to put into the Hull B so it doesn’t take me ages to get any where😅
herma, huracan, or xl-1
cru l1 or crul5 for herma
Good news is I just logged off last night with the ship at Cru L1😅
Its late and im struggling with simple maths... how many gems = 1 scu
A thousand.
You don't need to say it's late, it's alright
Hey, probably a silly question but where are the better places to find these
Iron
Hephaestanite
Lindinium
So what do I do with the empty boxes of construction rubble I end up with after refining?
Do I just give it to pirates at interdiction bubbles?
ive done part of the hand mining mission and delivered 100 aphorite. but not completed the others yet. will part of the mission be rememebered for next login?
nope
yeah its aids
oh well. ill have to do it again tomorrow then
if you need dolivine i have a bit at cru l1 i could give you
thanks - im deep in the arse end of pyro. no worries ill go looking for all 3 in one play session next time
ok
Do they have any updates on the arrastra?
No.
how does inert material filtering work?
If you were gonna get 10 scu, and you filter 40% of it, you only collect 6 scu
when does it get filtered
When you extract from the rock
Not on crack
And… if filter modules work like all other modules, they are multiplicative
So a 50% filter on a laser that is already down to 60% will bring it down to 30
Additional filters operate on that new number, so then it’ll go to 15, and 7.5, etc
I haven’t tested using modules for filtering, I don’t think they are necessary
Rarely do I struggle with not having enough space in my mining bags post 4.7
From testings in 4.6, filtering appears capped at 40%, which is the default of all the good heads already.
Surely is a bug, and I don't know if it's in 4.7, but be aware.
Yea… that sounds bugged, good to know
I couldn’t be bothered to swap lasers just for extracting
what is a good laser submodule setup for multicrew mole?
so, how to sell hundreds of feynmaline stacks?
😐 my c2 is loaded with 1SCU boxes of iron that the TDD won't detect
i like 2 hofsteads on sides, one with a focus 3, one with a reiger-c3, and both with a torrent 3. but i keep impacts with reigers and a supply of surges/stampedes on board just in case i need more power
im an lti reclaimer captin looking for a crew at area 18 looking for heavy salvage run. i am a new player
that wasnt an invitation to DM me, just telling you where to go ask for people to play with
is there any way to make salvaging weapons off enemy ships profitable?
scrap wise or other?
Selling certain ship weapons that can't be bought in ingame stores on the player market can make you money, but the stock weapons that NPC's carry aren't really worth anything
I hope they dont nerf hot-swapping seats in the hull-b, its NIFTY
Did they break the gd MOTH again?? I can only print 1SCU crates and the scraping is painfully slow
Argo MOTH? you mean to say ARGO SLOTH thing got slower after this patch again
dangit man i just wanna love this ship
supposedly it prints bigger boxes if you do it not in quantum
but i don't own a moth, just sharing what i was told
whenever i try selling my construction materials i got with my reclaimer it says that the boxes are to big. How do i see wich station takes them so i can sell?
Can you keep spare mole bags on the moles Cargo lift or is it still bugged?
Yes, just gotta hold the bag a bit above the grid as usual
appreciate you!
Guys me and my buddies are trying to mine the minerals within the rock cracker station rock since we mined it open with the laser but it keeps saying impossible at every ore we try to mine with our mole. Why is this?
It saying impossible doesn’t necessarily mean it’s impossible
A helix II with 2 rieger-c3 can move the needle on every rock you find there
Throw in a hofstead and it should be fairly easy
Just highly unstable
whats the biggest scu box that the maxlift tractor beam can move?
solo?
Solo
Do you guys think they're ever gonna add a tractor beam to the c2
no
does any person or org here want to buy the location of a 6% 798Q Savrilium rock with a mass of 114000 tonnes?
A box-move beam to the tank-move box? I think not.
I just did these on the high cost, low speed, high yield option, but for the future, should i do this differently?
Just use dynex for everything
And for quant all of the quant is valuable, don’t skip out on refining rarer materials, they’re worth selling even at low quality
On the engineering console for the mole how do i enable more then 1 mining head at one time?
Anyone know if Taranite spawns as a primary resource and if not what it spawns with? Been looking all day and can't find any
You doing the Taranite small missions?
Go to the caves near the spot it directs you to then scan outside the caves you’ll find a ton on the ground
Well I'm looking for high quality to craft with but I will for sure try that thank you!
yeah give that a shot. Otherwise no clue
To me that looks like you only have one laser
But tbh I haven’t messed with the mole’s engineering terminal much, it feels unfinished. Doesn’t show armor hp etc
If that doesn’t work try Daymar Ceilin or Cleo @left lion
I have one on each mount but it will only let me power on one at a time
It seems to be mostly clustered on moons
that's the issue I was looking for it in Pyro lol, thanks for the help
Yeah, pyro has no taranite rocks
oh no wonder
It has stileron, which has taranite, but you won’t find high quality taranite that way
it’s only in Stanton or QV breaker station in Nyx
idk if main Nyx mining had any
Good luck!
Yela has Taranite as primary Ore
Is there anything we can do about ships bouncing up and down as you try to mine?
Feels lag related
I can't even mine 🙁
Do the ARGO Mole collapsed ore bags work as intended? Can you ditch full ore pods and then use the collapsed ones?
Soon™
-# maybe... hopefully
The vertical jump up and then back down I don't think you can stop. Seems like desync
ugh yeah.. so annoying.
True true
So do mining attachments stack on ships? Like does three Reiner’s add 75% or is it only the base 25%?
If it's still the same it should be multiplicative, i.e each extra buff is applied to the previous total.
you can check all mining gadget boni/mali at scmdb. maybe regolith too if it's still up
they should stack all although I read somewhere here recently that the fltr modules don't stack (maybe because of a bug or idk)
Hull B is not part of the free fly right ? I wanted to try it but I don't own one yet
wait till Invictus
where is the higher quality ores in pyro?
High quality ore can be anywhere in any system, you just have to get lucky
they do stack, just not in that way. 3 reiger c3's, each adding 25% more laser power, results in a laser that has 1000 power to end up with 1953.125 power, not 1750
this is true of other modules (except filters, innert filtering is stuck at 40 atm, probably a bug,) and is why modules can be better on some lasers than they are on others. A laser that has a base green zone value of 120 will be affected by a focus more than one that is 80 base green zone value
so in a mole setting with a crew you'd never put a focus on a helix, it's better on a hofstead or impact, similarly a torrent isn't that great on an impact
active laser power modules would be best on the biggest laser, the helix
Its been a couple days, hows the hull Bee working?
works amazing
i hear its all the buzz
How do you use things like a surge without shattering a rock?
If you're only missing a little power, be prepared for the huge power burst, lower the power output as you active the module .
Does overcharge matter if it doesn't get maxed and trigger a shatter?
Yes.
some might even say it STINGS the wallet
The slightest level of red charge will alter the amount of ores you get in the rocks resulting of the cracks and their distribution.
The more red you have, the worse it'll be and the less materials you'll have left to extract.
Also add a vote for Hull B being awesome. I do kind of wish grid wasn't 8 32 scu sized grids, but that's like only negative
Any pro tips for placing mining gadgets on asteroids in zero g?
Get hired at CIG and fix this bullshit
I know it can be done! I did it a grand total of 1 time since 4.7, but it has not been repeated...
So no pro tips on this jank?
It's just painful
why do hauling missions that require more cargo space at the same rank give the same payout
you would think that a bigger haul = more money
but it's not
We all wonder, it's CIG you should be asking
so it's always like that irrespective of rank?
that doesn't seem right lol
oh well
It's a hot mess of content dropped in without polish, they tried to apply some time vs reward algorithm and I guess because the bigger mission is the same amount of boxes to move it came out that way, now with more missions added it got further imbalance.
An example the exact carbon copy master rank interstellar missions pays less than the rookie equivalent...
They need to go over it all again, probably like most features is nowhere near the final design
outside of hauling then would you say mining and/or salvaging have a good loop
salvage question on the MOTH, is there any good way to get the boxes off once you've sent them down for refining? we've been basically having to recall the ship, but it gets annoying
The worst part about crafting is scanning rocks
There needs to be a way to set filters on the scanner and scanning a rock should not take more than 5 seconds
can you get salvage from aaron halo?
also is there a way to just jettison internal storage i don't want
i need to get rid of this construction rubble
Hello, I'd like to kit out a Hull B purely to have the best shields and quantum drive, could someone help by providing their recommendations on erkul?
Unfortunately not, either you fill up the buffer with more construction rubble and then print all of it, or you claim the ship
how do i get bigger salvage missions?
yes
Hey! Anyone knows how the moth scrap head works as a solo ship? Compared to being in a vulture for example. I have a reclaimer but it just doesn't work for the rep missions and tbh I really hate the limitations of the vulture boxes
took it out with two of us for the first time today, did really well and not having to manage your boxes is a bonus
Yeah I was testing it and also it can print 1scu boxes
So I could deliver the mission
why is it impossible to buy the rest of in-stock commodity? no boxes at the village?
none of the commodities at the location are purchesable, even ones with 2k supply now
wtf
Does the outpost you're at have a freight elevator?
yes
hm, idk then
I'm finding that the commodity shop is offering 300,000 for 4,000,000 worth of Laranite
Is there a trick to getting the golem ox tractor beam to extend? Mine just sits in the close position and I can't use it for anything
looks like it's just a button in the cockpit - lower right "deploy turret"
.> interesting bug - these don't actually sell either, it bugs the terminal out
looks like beryl is the best selling common raw ore?
Incredible how they still are getting this bugs
managed to fix it by selling the last two boxes then sending the freight up and down
Is Prowler Utility the safest way to do GEO-mining on the surface?
It seems to be the stealthiest ship to carry ATLS GEO.
I tried using Hull A, but the ATLS is stuck dead on its grid.
is it intended that I cant open my hull b airlock door unless my ship is powered on?
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
Are there no missions that reward blueprints for redwind or long family missions? Or am I missing something?
is there a more efficient way to level up my salvaging rep
I might be wrong here, but multi-sharing missions with other salvagers might help speed things up.
I tried googling to double-check if all get the same rep, but it's a bit inconclusive.
and I guess finding someone who already has access to better missions might help speed things up even more.
is it just me? or are Hull C hauling contracts seemingly gone? im master rank in Covalex but i cant find any contracts above 1000 scu
its probably for the best seeing as the hull C is so wishy washy on working
in my opinion they should remaster the hull C to match current modern standards like the hull B
You say that like the hull C is an old ship
The reason its so buggy is because the cargo loading cube is so buggy, the hull C itself works just fine
i haven't seen them but i thought that was because i wasn't in a hull-c
are they just gone gone?
ship is old
ship released in 2023 its 2026 old ship 3 years and no love
Compared to many other ships, its really not. Regardless of how old it is, it doesn't need to be changed, they just need to fix how buggy the auto-loading box is
i mean if it went to a more refreshed cockpit i think it would be amazing also make the back end less buggy with the trespassing issue
honestly the fact the trespassing issue exists in the rear is a issue for 3 years since release
sure the auto loading sucks but the ship came around the time of autoloading and frieght elevators
can you run the mole decently with two people?
is the Meteor supposed to have a small cargo storage, the back of the ship looks like it could open up and the point where you get to the ship, the middle part is tha backmost wall from the cockpit, so there is prettymuch 50% of meteor as unaccessible area
The mole works great solo but way better with 2
Rocks that need 3 lasers to crack are pretty rare
Is the Golem good for solo mining, want something to level up the shubin contracts
Ummm... are the ROC safe to bring in the MOLE?
I got it in but it's a bit... wobbly...
Well, I got a quick answer:
Can't get it out 😄
I was annoyed at how many rocks were IMPOSSIBLE when using Golem.
But considering how easy it is to get out of the ship, you can quickly slap a mining gadget on a rock to ease it a bit.
Also the bag fills out too damn quick. It feels like Golem is great for learning the basics, and once you done that - you gotta grab Prospector.
And later, if you can stomach the seat switching - the MOLE.
Isn't the "impossible" status a problem för the Prospector too though?
I mean, there's even quite an issue on the MOLE
It is, but the Golem sees the most of those.
on the MOLE, do you just fire up a 2nd laser when you have that problem? (if the rock is worth the hassle)
It's a bit hard to fire up a 2nd laser solo though 😉
(Yes, the MOLE is better than the others for soloing, if you don't count the bother of running back and forth)
in the current patch do you guys find that in Pyro theres better quality ore? or right now is the same, just go to a place that shows high avaiability in scmdb
Me and my friend bought a reclaimer but are struggling to make money from salvage contracts. Any advice?
cant wait to unload my galaxy near ext freight elevator
just gonna park the booty close
Run bounty hunting contracts and salvage that.
yo been out the loop lately. is the moth still having the day 1 issues or nah
Did the ships stop exploding? I stopped BH after they cut off the looting part.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
yeah people act like it's the ship's fault where as it's the autoloading system
I give up on soloing the MOLE for now, it keeps humping the air 🙁
Chris almighty, how the hell do I sell minerals in bulk? I tried workarounds I've found on the web, and none seem to work.
I tried using a box, I tried sending gems up and down to get them stacked, nothing works.
And when I try to sell from the local directory the terminal says it will way for these in the freight elevator.
Is it supposed to be so much pain or am I doing this wrong?
also Carinite without an icon and quality appeared in one of my boxes even though I haven't mined it.
I heard the mining ship radars are bugged and recommended to replace, what should i get for the Prosp?
Yeah I think they explode if you don't disable them first
Ah, so the goal is to hit he powerplant? Or is there another way of disabling the NPC ship?
I mean, to be clear, I know how one disables the NPC ship before the Engineering.
But since engineering was introduced any NPC ship I fought always exploded.
So there's basically nothing to loot or salvage.
how come when I hover over a hephastenite rock on the surface of microtech, with my prospector, there's no scan results, my mining head doesn't scan the rock at all?
hi all, i have yesterday finished refining a lot of construction mats and when i want to load them most of them if not all of them are stated empty, asked a bit around in chat and it should be normal so i transported them to a sell point, sell them and could not sell them why is that?
did you check if you still have boxes where you did the refining?
i've had refinery jobs run and there's empty boxes on the MOTH I refined from
but the actual full refined job is still in the station
Go to stanton and do the illegal salvage missions, under the unverified tab in contracts. They wont give you a crimestat or anything, you don't have to pay to accept them, and they give you decent sized ships. Hammerhead, starfarer, caterpillar, etc
You can't really. When an NPC's powerplant reachs 0 hp (which it will after all its hull hp and armor are depleted) then the ship blows up. I think you could have someone constatnly hitting the ship with distortions to keep it disabled while you scrape it, but thats a huge pain in the ass, and you won't be able to fracture it either
yea i have all the boxes
Tbh now with armor changes, reclaimers can just go in with the fighters and focus in on the larger ships they want to scrape/scoop an be right there with it when it pops to clean it up
having a hard time figuring out where i'm supposed to see RF signatures in the mole. do i need to target them or something?
Press V to get into scan mode, press and release tab to send a ping, then point at an unknown to see the signature in the top middle of hud
Might have to close in your scan angle in some cases to get the frequency to appear
yeah i'm having trouble getting it to show. sometimes it will, but only for like .5s
Yea, I have that issue all the time. It’s not specific to the mole, I think it’s server related
get a competition one. it has the least amount of max pips
I use one in my mole
Is there a recommended mining website now that Regolith is shutting down?
Scmdb
UI sucks but it's really great.
Where do you find the stuff to craft palantino armor?
somewhere here: https://sccrafter.com/
when auto loading, do i need to store my ship?
before i purchase and load the commaodity?
yes, ship has to be stored to auto load. This is why you cannot auto load at locations that don't have hangars
Hopefully that changes one day
How does the MOTH perform for salvaging? I've heard some bad things about it from 4.6 and wonder if it still struggles in 4.7
Call for permission to land at outpost, land, go to terminal buy/sell, and forced to leave within n minutes, if you don’t leave pad is cleared
Next user
Also is hull scraping worth it or should i just go straight for fragmenting?
I don't think salvaging is worth it in general but that's me.
why can i not sell my salvage scrap i got from doing some salvaging with reclaimer
i went to a station that takes it but i cant sell it there
you have to refine it first
MOTH is great solo or in a small group. I'd say about 90% of the bugs were fixed, leaving only 1 glaring issue but it's easy to work around. Basically, don't use the auto-eject. It uses 1 SCU boxes for some reason unless you fill the hopper to the max first, which isn't really ideal. Just manually eject to get around that.
As for scrape vs munch, that's personal preference. Scraping is an active playstyle that pays off upfront, at the cost of taking more initial time. If you max a MOTH at 304 SCU of RMC, it's like 2.5 mil, but it'll take around 5 hours or so.
On the other hand, you can munch, which, you can fill a MOTH in under an hour doing, but then you have to refine, and to make the same amount of money off of munching, you'll need three full MOTH's, plus refining time, plus transportation via a cargo ship.
Personally, I prefer to scrape, but that's just me, everyone has their thing.
for the prospector...would you all pick the Hofsted or the Helix? i have been reading up on both...cant decide
Definitely helix with 2 surge
Counter arguement Hofsted with hte power boost thing makes for easy lazy mining.
Hofstead with reiger for chill gaming
Helix with reiger surge for max power
(Keep extra surges just in case you gotta go to 2)
I use prospector primarily for heph/iron mining, it can pretty comfortably break 24k-28k rocks on Stanton moons with a helix reiger surge setup
what module would helpwith the window for the Helix?
Focus, or you could use an active I suppose, but I don't know which active gives window support. Conversely, you can use gadgets for that, although I'd recommend Sabir for the resistance cut personally
what would be the max i could mine with the Helix and max witht eh Hofstead?
With a sabir 16k mass with hofstead and surge
36k for helix with with surge
Did they remove cargo from unverified salvage missions? I have done 5 in total on 2 different servers and can't find any cargo in the ships.
Dunno, but the regular salvage missions have cargo.
A hull c mission last night had 1.4mil worth of nitrogen on it
Lies j/k
Since there are no hauling missions in the 40-60 SCU range, how big of a penalty is it when you dont turn in a full load? eg, only turning in 64 SCU of a 100 SCU mission?
Do you get 64% of the pay + rep?
what is this Error Code 18 when I try to refine something, Levski Refinery
if you are missing 1 scu, you only get 75% of the payout
i'm sujre there's a point where it drops to 50%, 25%, etc
for 64/100 i'd assume 50%
well that sucks. CIG really needs to add more diversity to the sizes of these missions then. Either you have missions that can be done in an aurora or missions that want a raft with little inbetween
That's my biggest gripe with the Ox, C1, and Hull A... where do these fit if my options are 6 SCU and 118 SCU.
Yes, you can take multiple missions, but that doesn't change the fact that their fuel range is low, and you're then talking about 50-60 1 SCU boxes
at least with the C1 you have 32 SCU of off-grid capacity, so you can use the tractor beam to bring your haul up to 96 SCU easily (and that's before the ~16 SCU of the airlock space)
but the other ships don't have that luxury and that's where my complaint really stems from
The point stands. We have 64 SCU ships as a whole weight class, and no 40-60 SCU missions for them.
YEP
and honestly the biggest drawback of taking multiple smaller missions is wrangling the fucking annoying ass 1 SCU boxes they tend to come with
a series of 40-60 SCU missions where the boxes are 4-8 SCU in size would be perfect
Trying to keep everything organized in 1 SCU clumps of 3-8 is baffling too... None of those ships are optimized for that kind of delivery
Yep. And then you have to make sure the same delivery location doesn't take the same material from more than one source because it'll screw up how mission progress is tracked
The closest is the Hull A, and even then, you wind up with that one 9 SCU mission everytime
it is funny that the free flight gives cargo ships in this range when they're the least satisfying to actually do missions for
Right... like let's introduce people to cargo, with the worst possible ships for the job, oh and an ATLS that only 1 of them can, but shouldn't, use
At least there's a RAFT I suppose
what's the etiquette on shares when inviting people to multicrew something like a mole
usually if i'm doing multi crew and the one doing payouts i prefer to try and split it as even as i can so me and another would be 50/50 3 total would be like 33/33/33 and so on
Anyone know if refinery orders sent to station still prioritize 4 SCU boxes?
Shoot you before we refine and take it all myself
Nah I’m gonna offer to pay you UEC or ship components but the mats are mine
If that’s not sliding we ain’t mining baby
Like a lot of A military components^
Atls is pretty solid with c1 and you can easily take it with you. Makes handling the 1scu boxes less painful
Hi , where is the best place to mine quantinium in Stanton?
Pretty sure all places are pretty similar
Choose the one that that is most convenient and not overpopulated
Like yela is convenient but I wouldn’t mine there on a busy server
i used to mine around wala or lyria as the overall pool of minerals is a nice one and there is not many peeps
but tbh the chances are more less the same everywhere it feels to me
I generally prefer surface mining, because it’s easier to put gadgets on
And allows for better focused scanning due to resources there being more limited by location
Ty
Heyo there ! When doing salvage, what is Salvage Beam Axis and what are Structural Modes ?
Trying to setup my keybinds for salvage based on some existing joystick keybinds 👀
is there a good place to high quality resources?
Anywhere really. Supposedly pyro has higher quality, but not all resources are available there. And I'm not sure it's actually better for the ones that are.
I’ve seen no real evidence that quality is better in pyro
I’ve found high quality stuff in every system
Just last night I found a 25 scu of 954 corundum on arial
is there any way or tool to calculate how much a refinery order will cost me? i remember once paying a stupid price at MT for quant refining but the sation had a large bonus for yeald
Yesterday I got a pretty well paying mission at low rep, 200k to haul 8 scu loaded from 4 stations in Stanton to one in pyro. Kept imagining I was missing something and wasting time but I got the money in the end, smooth
Now I wonder, since most missions are valued significantly less - have I actually missed something? Is this kind of mission not a good idea to do?
Or was I just lucky?
That's a normal Ling Family interstellar, high pay to cross systems and maybe extra to go to low security Pyro
Saw some mining tips. I tend to be more solo than group due to timezones but what are some decent areas for Golem mining? Most of the time rocks are just too big. I dont mind solo Mole, I just want some convenience from the Golem.
There were a lot of dead bodies and unmanned ships around so the pricing might be due to risk of death by other players?
I guess pyro is always a risk
Target mining easier materials, like corundum/iron/tin/aluminum/quarts etc to find more rocks you can actually break
Also bring along gadgets and active modules to expand your capabilities
Basically… any Stanton moon, but use a tool like scmdb to target a specific moon with a given material you want
Ah gotcha gotcha. I was overcomplicating it. I use the gadgets and flip between dual reiger 3s or 1 with a focus 3 depending on what I may need. I never use any site and I should probably do that instead of relying on ol RNG

can someone take a look at this and tell me if i've done anything stupid with this build for the mole
I'd slap a better QT drive in there
is there any way to get the Shubin XS refined ore delivery contracts back after you increase rep to the next tier and only see medium deliveres? the xs deliveries were so easy to spam for rep since you didnt even have to leave the hdms
was trying to keep the signature low because i'm a noid about people finding me while i'm mining
if you're mining, it's not powered so wouldn't matter?
I wouldn't necessarily say it doesn't matter. You can both scan rocks and mine in NAV mode. I dunno about anyone else, but when I've gone out mining, I spend a lot of my time in NAV because its faster
That being said, it'll depend where you're intent on mining, and if someone's looking for targets, they'd likely be also be pinging and catch you on your CS
ahh true I guess
where does my refined stuff go once i claimed it at the terminal?
station's inventory is empty
Relog and see if it's still empty.
so would you suggest i change my QTD too?
I mean
What are you mining in?
Mole? People will see it for a mile no matter what you do
I wouldn’t worry about it
The mole is pretty tanky, if you aren’t on a planet you should be able to escape even if you’re sitting in a laser
Unless it’s a Percy or idris or anything with torps I guess, but you aren’t hiding from a large radar with a mole
You're probably fine with a faster drive, and probably more likely to get snared going to a refinery than caught out while searching for rocks. But in the end it's both situational and personal preference on how cautious you want to be. Was moreso making a point that your initial caution of a stealth drive wasn't necessary unwarranted.
also kinda depends on how you are scanning
Scanning from the surface you’ll be further away from potential threats, and thus a stealth drive might be able to shield you for a bit longer if they aren’t active pinging while you are traveling in nav
But if you scan from nav at 4km or higher to cover more ground, anyone skimming along will easily spot you
The active ping is really what will give you away, it’ll show you 23k away (29k with some radars) regardless of what your ir and em is
Are those mining gadgets bugged af? I can't make them stick to a rock
Yeah. Very hard to get one to snap
I finally find a 950q tungsten rock and I can't break it with my golem because stupid mech
Are you in space?
I believe the gadgets need to be placed through the radial menu when in space
Sometimes they won't latch in space. Ground rocks have a better chance but still inconsistent
i have to say..after mining with the Mole, and the prospector for the past 2 days, now that i know how to use the mole Properly solo, i have more fun in the mole..
Same for me (minus the deadly ladder bug). The Prospector has too many short comings which includes an old design, mining limitations, and a big one for me, horrible flight characteristics for a ship it's size. I just don't enjoy flying it. I feel it's vtol and engines are underpowered and after a long session of mining I feel drained. I don't get that in the Mole despite it being a much larger ship.
It’s really hard to attach them in space, works fine every time for me on a surface
The only thing I hate about the prospector is its door
I want it to be rebuilt on the fortune’s frame
With the elevator grid in the back
The elevator on the fortune is so convenient, I love it
But I also hate the fortune’s door, tbf
But it’s elevator makes it bearable
Open all doors stand up and free to exit
i keep geting an inventory error when i refine at terra and then try to sell, anyone know whats going on?
you have the flying part 100% it always felt like you had constant resistance
that is one ill buy in game at one point..i LOVE the clear cockpit view
Yeah I love the fortune, its a great ship
do any of you mine in Nynx? like it? im trying it tonight for the first time
something about invalid qty, it also gives me crazy high sell prices
I… don’t enjoy solo mining there
Too much resist and instability on the majority of rocks there that can’t be found elsewhere
But with a crew sure
We just don’t need those materials as an org so we don’t
I like mining calliope in a prospector and fuego in a mole
This right here. Its a struggle solo
good to know! ty
in a mole? i want to try rockbreaker...prob try with others first.
Yup
do you know if can loot RiegerCIII modules anywhere? they are expensive!
i bought a bunch but i would love to try and loot some too
You can sometimes find them in blue boxes. But not in large enough quantities
Just get c2’s
I use c3’s because player marker makes money not matter, but once a econ reset happens it’ll matter
WELL IT TURNS OUT IF YOU GET THAT ERROR AT THE STATION, LOADING YOUR CM ONTO A SHIP AND TAKING IT TO ANOTHER STATION WILL LET YOU SELL IT
I’ve been trying to do experienced rank cargo missions to grind rep but every time the elevator voids almost all the 16 scu boxes, dose anyone know a work around for this
Are there mining resources that can only be like acquired by like hand mining or atls/roc?
yes, like they are called, like 'gems', they also like have like different like signatures, you like know?
Thank you
Anyone have a reclaimer crew going on? Interested in getting one and would love to hop on the crew to experience it!
check in #looking-for-session
@jovial matrix thank you!
Is the reclaimer even worth doing becouse of the huge time it takes to sell ?
It depends if you're good at lining up crates in the back. I tend to completely fill the bay, go to a station that has XL hangar, unload and then load up whatever hauler I feel like using
The external elevators are a nightmare for me.
Thats why you have someone help you offload.
Half the time I do. Still annoying lining it up and hoping the game doesn't physics any cargo randomly
100% agree on SC being SC
What's a good lindinum mining loadout
For mole
C3 don't cut it
Sadly
But also prefer something that preferably helps with how much the green jumps
From my experience tonight with 2 other people it would go from nothing too exploding
Tho idk what the other mole had
If I recall correctly there's some mechanic where boosts to stability or green window or something don't apply when it comes from another ship, but they do apply when it comes from a second laser on your ship. That might be part of the problem.
Best loadout for prospector? Currently in nyx but i’m down for whatever brings nice money.
Eh, I still land on the same loadout
The power jumping to max instantly is player error most of the time
Helix 2 on front with reiger c3, surge stampede, then you want 2 hofsteads and 2 impacts, your choice on which combination of the 4 you have on based on your crew’s skill level and the size of the rock you are breaking
I run full reigers on the impacts and use them for when I need to break a larger rock, usually only need one of them paired with the helix + hofstead
For the hofsteads, I run one with torrent focus, and the other with torrent reiger-c3
high instability and people not being patient are the most likely causes of rocks spiking to max, the green zone provided by hofsteads help fight that a bit with the larger green zone and faster filling green zone, but if your laser operators don’t adjust their power profiles to account for a rock being highly unstable they’re gonna blow up rocks
Also important is ship distance
If it’s a 1000 mass rock that still needs to be cracked, the hofstead might not be able to lower its power enough on its own to properly control it, in those cases the operator should recognize that and ask the pilot to move the ship
Or the pilot should already know from experience that the ship will need to move back for that rock when they see it, etc
Unfortunately that’s hard to do as the pilot because we can’t see rock stats on sub breaks without moving the ship to point at it
Screen sharing from your operators helps a ton here, so you can see what they see
Fly the ship through their eyes
Hello, can someone advise of the best loadout for a Golem please?
Full stealth, Rieger-C3 and Surge modules.
thanks, what would I need for full stealth?
Stealth components. Best of those you can only loot but there are a few you can buy. Use !erkul
• Calculator • Shops • Ships • Weapons •
Nope
It's only the Prospector that can be upgraded
I see cuz it went from like not going up at all with 2 lasers and the 3rd made it go up instantly idk if user error or what
Noted ty very much
Running just lazy loadout rn hof Helix and impact all with c3 expect maybe one with a focus something iirc
As long as you’re using only hofsteads and impacts on the side lasers you can’t really go wrong, there’s more and less efficient choices you can make when it comes to modules, but at the end of the day it’s just a numbers game
If you have the numbers to make the green bar move you can break the rock, at that point it’s all laser control
Limiting instability makes it jump around less, and making the green zone bigger and/or fill faster makes dealing with the instability easier
you can get into trouble using other lasers, like arbors and kliens, they both significantly increase either resist or instability and because it’s multiplicative it can get away from you very quickly
Also why it’s a bad idea to have multiple golems on high resist/instability rocks, it gets out of hand very quickly with instability in the thousands
ah thank you
Does anyone know why my 1scu of argium that is suppose to sell for 10k/scu at a ttd(listed price) selling for 500/scu? Does 1scu of argium box not necessarily mean 1scu but could be lesser?
Appreciate the help, super confused rn.
Could be less than an scu in the box
Refineries now round to the next cSCU rather than SCU
ye, was thinking that too. I guess that means that while it is represented as a 1scu box, the amount of ore in it could be 0.1scu etc right?
Yeah, the TDD likely just doesn’t present it correctly, being an older system
Check the box in an inventory kiosk or freight elevator
I see, i see. Thanks a lot for the help 🙏
what am i supposed to do with construction pieces? i managed to sell construction materials but i don't understand where to sell pieces
oh wait is it just empty boxes?
oh
Hello i am looking for an Star citizen organisation that goes towards industry like Mining and Cargo Hauling also open for other jobs. Anyone know an Org like that?
currently doing commodity trading in a raft and im up to like 20m uec now, worth grabbing a c2?
Depends on if you want to move up to the next tier of commodity trading, bigger ship doesn’t double profits
It’s more like 20% better
oh wow
If not 15
Not only that, but the C2 is pain in the neck for cargo, since it's not a cargo ship
I’d stick with raft for now till the hull b is in in game shops
It's a vehicle transport. It has high ramps, bad LoS, no tractor beams, and a throughput cargo area instead of sectioned cargo
Hull c is a hauler, but the herc itself is better suited to hauling vehicles
well with raft the money is nice but not amazing
The M2 is the actual vehicle hauling variant
The M2 is the Military vehicle hauler, the C2 is a commercial vehicle hauler
complete with seats for crew
i usually haul bexalite or degnous root/golden medmon, make like 500k-1m per trade
so should i still just stick with raft
you can still do that in the herc, but you’ll quickly deplete supply
You can always move up, sideways or down, and fly what you like
