I sent you one already, you'll have to accept my DM request in discord
Shiv released in 4.3, and is coming for auec in 4.7, OX released in 4.4...
Hull a is better in every way, except not being a drake
Drake is love, Drake is life.
Not being able to carry 24-32 SCU boxes.
im hoping hull b is awesome, but im trying to prepare for disappointment
On paper it should have everything the raft has going for it with the exception that you might have to load it from either side
But hopefully, unlike the Hull A, and like the Hull-C, it has tractor beams on each side to unload it.
Personally I like all of them other than Argo and misc
I don’t like ship tractors, so lacking one doesn’t bother me too much atm
Not being able to carry bigger than a 16? I mean fair, but I don’t find many cases where I need to carry only 2 32 scu boxes
Bigger issue is auto loading and the retracting cargo splines
they should fix first hull c lol
I have been putting my nursa into my Asgard but it's way better to park a c8r in there instead
I've been flying the Asgard near paf locations than flying the c8r to the garages, clear them out with the ship guns then backing it into the room to clear it out, it gives cover from the NPC's outside and you can just fly it out because it's so tiny
I mean, the hull c itself works mostly fine
I wouldn’t be surprised if they plan to entirely replace the existing cargo auto loading
With something that’ll support other ships with external accessible grids
if i put 3 FLTR-XL (-24% Inert) on a helix 2 (-40% inert)
does it stack to -112% inert?
It should be multiplicative not additive
But I haven’t tested it myself
in other words diminishing returns
Should bring you to 26%ish of inert remaining?
100*.6*.76*.76*.76
If that's going to be your extract head, use Impact instead, cause Helix can't go lower than 30% power, and that's a lot.
Max you can achieve is -83%, cause as Tantonaxe said, it's multiplicative, not additive.
But it was also tested last week, and it seems to hard cap at -40%. We don't know if that's a bug or intended, but most likely a bug.
I tested again in the Prospector to see if it's the MOLE that is bugged. Findings showed that the Modules are bugged but the Heads filter the correct amount. Helix I on prospector filtered 30%, Impact II on MOLE filtered 40% regardless of which and how many filtering modules were installed on the head.
Tested both the FLTR-XL and XTR-XL. Have not messed with them in 4.7 PTU yet
Every other aspect of the modules seems to function correctly. Laser power, green window, etc. Only the filtering is not working.
Tf...
Anyone got any good gameplay loops?
!thingstodo
for 4.7? grind bp lol
For salvaging, is there any tip on how to find ship wrecks? I don't thing pinging in search of some wreck across the 'verse is the best strategy.. or is it possible to filter somehow resources/wrecks?
I just do the illegal salvage missions that spawn around yela, nice and easy. If you wanna go after player wrecks specifically, I'd probably check popular stations and the nyx/pyro jumppoints
I have the feeling that looking around nyx/pyro jumppoints would lead to salvaging my own ship wreck in no time
Yeah theres some risk with salvaging player ships, cause typically where theres abandoned ships theres active players. Pretty sure you're safe from interdiction though if you're salvaging close to the JP stations, so you can at least run away
Iffy is interdiction like EVE where the pilot can survey a section of space with probes to triangulate another player’s position?
Ships like the Mantis have QEDs.
They park on a commonly used QT route, any ship that passes by is pulled out of QT. Area of effect is around 10-20km.
That's the Cutlass Blue, which only had a dampener. Prevents from jumping, but doesn't pull out of QT.
ahhh
Most used term to talk about all this is QED, but it's an abuse, only the Mantis has an actual one.
anyone know the best route to trade commodeties are?
can anyone recommend a duo mining setup for the mole
Helix up front, 2 hofseads on sides
rieger c3 on helix and FLTR-xl and Focus 3 on the hofstede respectively
Pro tip: don't take this mission, it fucking sucks! There were 6-8 ships guarding the wrecks (ranging from an arrow to a C1) that you have to kill, and it only spawned a vanguard and a cutty for me to salvage. Also, there wasn't even any cargo, the cutty was empty lmao
Look what they did to my poor M2
Well, I tried out the salvation, and its a really cool little ship. I think it serves its role as an introductory salvage ship very well, and I'm definitely keeping it pledged as my game package, but I won't be using it very often. The fact that it basically requires a mothership is a big downside, and it can't even fracture a heavy fighter, but thats all fine cause its a starter ship. I'll still be sticking with my fortune going forward
Rule 5 mate.
Sorry i was asking for help did not share a link i was just looking for help sorry if it broke a rule it is in relation to star citizen so i thought it would be good to go
won't happen again i'll go elswhere
You are free to share it in #imadethis but it will have to be public.
okay i'll get beta testers elswhere and post it when truly done 🙂 Right now it is a little rough around the edges XD
Dont lie....you wont use it ever again.
Whenever we get wiped I will lol
My fortune isn't pledged, and I'm not willing to drop more money for one, so once I lose it I'll use the salvation till I get a new one
I pledged mine for LTI....its wasnt a lot of $ anyway....50 usd I think
60 usd
I've put about 300$ into the game, and I just melt stuff if I wanna try a different ship. For awhile I've had a standalone cutty red and a 100i game package, which imma switch for the salvation GP. The rest of my store credit is in paints
That way I've always got a salvage ship + a good mutli-purpose ship
is there a list of ships that do and don't have yoinkable components?
much appreciated, I'll give it a gander
How do you get components out of ships without an interior now that soft death is gone ?
Like the gladius or wolf the component doors stay lock after you blow up the ship

Ships should unlock after the owner reclaims it right ?
It’s such an annoying problem
the doors should unlock when the power plat is disabled sense there is no soft death
Or be able to cut open the door with the oxy torch
Or maybe abandoned ships could unlock after like 6 hours or when the owner leaves the shard
They should automatically unlock once they're claimed and become owned by gamerules
Oxy torch one day
is there a way to prevent dying when a rock is about to explode from overheating it?
get away from it?
Don't overcharge the rocks tbh
it has a huge blast radius... becouse that is exactly what i have been doing and it keeps going wrong
yeah i keep trying but always happens atleast once
the "trash" savrilium (low quality) from rockbreaker sold raw at levski for 620k
so technically it can come pretty close to paying for itself even at the 850k price, especially if you can actually make use of the higher quality rocks in the big rock
refined everything above 500
sold the rest
didn't mine the torite
what would people say is the best planet to find quantanium
any
Look over the planets on Stanton and pick the one with the least different ship minables that is close to where you want to be mining
i usually find more quant when i'm not specifically looking for it
at least it feels that way
doing some hauling contracts for the money, should i grab the golem and then get mining up until i can afford a prospector or should i just full save for prospector?
also, what ships should i use for the transporting section of mining
cause rn i just bought a cutty black
need to fit it of course
You can stack refinery orders to infinity and haul everything the very last day before a patch to sell.
You'd want at least a C2 for that probably, unless you enjoy doing many many trips.
Refining in Levski I think you could simply skip the hauling step.
there really isnt that big a jump between the golem and the prospector. They are basically side-grades, I think? Prospector is bigger and has its own habitation area but golem is small enough it can be mothershipd by c2 or asgard
i just prefer selling when i actually have things to sell rather than holding till last day. mostly cause i like having money
That's fair, tho if you sell after every refinery order it's going to be a huge time sink in comparison.
Do a hauling day a week maybe ? Renting a RAFT would probably be enough for that.
Your call, you can do whatever pleases you and if you need to see the money go up everyday, you can haul your refined ores as soon as they're ready.
thats about what i figured
like i don't need to do it after every order but one day to pick up and sell
did a bit of mining and figured out that actually i don't like mining in this game as much
i tend to cast wide nets and mine indiscriminately, take everything back and badda bing badda boom
i think that if that is my philosophy then i should probably consider doing salvage runs instead
Eh, there’s some value in mining that way, in raw aUEC from selling to the TDD
If you went out and focused on something that sells decently
But yea for that kind of less targeted gameplay salvage is probably better
what is better for solo salvaging reclaimer or vulture?
and what ship is best for solo mining?
I always like the what ship is best for X question because there is never a real concrete answer
ok then what is a good one
Moth or reclaimer for salvage and prospector for mining.
I would say, progress through them
Different sized ships for different skill/knowledge levels and crew size
Vulture is a great solo ship
It’s generally faster and easier to use than a fortune or salvation, but as your material needs grow, and particularly if you have a buddy who wants to join in, that ship falls behind running a moth or reclaimer
Fortune my beloved
I always run a fortune over a vulture because 1: I like it more, and 2: it’s better for multi-crew than a vulture due to its double printers and auto grid
Also fits into an idris way easier
Plus it comes in pink, even better
But if I’m going for pure product per hour I’ll pull out the reclaimer
Especially if I have more than a few hours to work with or a buddy
Does the Refineries read CMAT that is snapped on the cargo grid on the Reclaimer?
have you been noticing the disintegration part of the Fortune takes WAAAAY longer than it use to in the past? Thats been my major gripe with it right now
So i've been trying to asteroid mothership mine with my M2 and Golem. Unless I stay close enough to the m2 to keep it targeted, I lose it out in the belts (no real landmarks or anything) And I dont seem to get a marker where that ship is like the youtube folks do. What am I doing wrong/need to be doing different?
My longterm goal is to do this with a refining galaxy
TIP: go get any of those Delivery missions, pickup the box and leave it on your mother ship, you now have a yellow beacon pointing to the box
Thanks!
an alternative is to kill yourself, you will also get a marker to your dead body
Maybe if I had room for a nursa on board lol. I think the delivery box is the way to go
Myself and many of my orgmates have had issues where the marker for your mothership bugs out and isnt correct after leaving in a different ship. The fix is to alt+F4 and relog, that should put the marker back on your ship
While on the mothership, or the golem?
soemtimes when i do ALT+F4 inside any ship, the ship refuses to respond.... doors wont open, stuff doesnt work... idk
Leave the mothership and fly around for a bit in the golem, and then alt F4 and reload once you want to return to the mothership
Yes
Ever since it was given the “scraper” specialty
It specializes in rmc, if you are cracking it’s better to use the vulture or moth for small ships
I would generally suggest simply not doing this, the markers are far too unreliable
I now only do this at surface outposts with armistice
Note that, there is a location in the Aaron halo
It’s even armistice
Really? First ive heard of this
Yup, the crusader wikelo station
Thanks! Ive been doing the jump cancel thing to drop me in the halo in t he middle of nowhere.
Yea, I’d use one of the CRU-L4 or CRU-L5 stations, since they’re both really close to the belt
Can park at the edge of armistice and generally be safe
Awesome, thanks
You can tell this guy mines, thanks for the tips
I mean, realistically id use the wikelo station now that I know about it
Only realized it a few days ago
Noted!
Ah damnit. I tried to store my herc, but it didnt go down the elevator. I should have checked before bringing up my golem. Now they are glitched together
It seems your problem has been solved, the mining ship and the mothership have become one, now you can mine and store extra bags all on the same ship!
LMA
Its like riding a bu ll. I feel like this unholy conglomeration is going to explode any second and tear a new jump point in HUR-L2
Operation Janky Matroyshka doll is complete.
honestly I always considered the fortune to be CMAT focused since it always gets a higher percentage of gathering than the vulture
ill test out the Reclaimer and its snapped cargo to refine though
saw some videos on it but never tested it myself
It’s… while that would be true if hulls were limited, (assuming you’re correct that it collects more per hull; haven’t tested myself) we aren’t hull limited so speed tends to win
ye, been why been slowly going away from the Fortune although I would honestly prefer it. MOTH though gonna be my baby
is the fortune/vulture difference kinda like the difference between a golem/prospector where one is a good starter kit and one is much better with upgrades
honestly back when i last played it was only really the vulture that did stuff 💀 but i see there's a MOLE equivalent in the MOTH
I would say they are close enough to be personal preference, where as the prospector is a clear winner over the golem in that it has far more diverse tools
mm yeah thats fair. i wish i could try the two but i do love my drake ships
it's a shame that there's no salvage starter in game yet
We’ll have the salvation in shops by the end of the year
in game shops?
Should yea
We’re the shiv with 4.7
Got the fortune last year
They seem to be being a lot better about getting ships into shops now
well thats good
what is the personal preference to be had between the fortune and the vulture
misc vs drake?
cant even store 16 SCU in the cargo hold of the reclaimer x=x rip me trying to use the elevator lol
The vulture can carry more salvage before needing to offload, assuming you use the offgrid space (which you should). Vulture carries 39SCU and the fortune carries 27SCU. The advantage of the fortune is that the salvage auto-unloads itself from the buffer onto the cargo grid, so instead of having to get up and move all the boxes on the vulture while you're salvaging, you just click the auto-unload button on the fortune and it does the work for you
They both scrape at about the same speed, but the vulture fractures faster. The vulture scraping beams also have a slightly bigger diameter, I think those are the main differences
In general, I'd say the vulture is definitely better than the fortune, but its a small enough difference that it mostly comes down to personal preference like tentonaxe said. Having used both, I prefer the fortune, just cause only having to move the boxes once (from the ship to the freight elevator) is so nice
i'd love to give them a try
in the meantime! what are the best hauling contracts to do? i've been doing local directs for covalex
Technicallly the fortune can hold more cargo off grid than the vulture
But the time you spend accomplishing that is more than the time you save making less trips
yeah exactly
i deffo do not enjoy the MAX, haha. but i need something to haul all this cargo in
The starlancers seem like great ships, but I flew the max one time and I never want to again
not many alternatives tho..
- The Asgard can fit 250+ scu using the offgrid spaces.
- The Hermes fits 288 scu, but it cant be bough at this time.
- Then a Hercules like the C2 fits up to 800 scus, but its a big whale..
yeah that sounds about right. i guess i just dislike the max or other heavy cargo transport, wanna get to salvaging
i use my taurus alot for cargo but only cause the elevator being in the middle happens to be convenient, probably gonna give a raft a go after patch this week
what upgrades should i be making to a base vulture
give it abrades over whatever it comes with
go to yela and do the illegal salvage contracts, free hammerheads
i c
also the default modules are 1x abrade 2x cinch and 1x tractor
do i turn ALL of those into abrades or do i just go with 1 abrade per arm
do these increase my crimestat
no
i will consider, maybe after i get more experience
for now though i gotta get my upgrades
the regular salvage contracts are fine to start with, the fee based ones
so re: this one, the thing comes with 1x abrade 2x cinch 1x tractor and idk if you're saying to put abrades in ALL slots or just have one abrade per arm
scrape it. crack it, scoop it, print go next
well, that part is complicated
what I do is run a tractor + abrade per wing, so that i can toggle between two abrades and two tractors
i don't like having a tractor mixed with a scraper
i think you can buy both tractors and abrades at most platinum bays
yeah im seein that as well
do i need to change my shields, power plants, quantum drives at all
The only thing that changes with the illegal salvage contracts, is that a few NPC ships will spawn and attack you 1 hour after you arrive at the claim
Unless you're going exceptionally slow, you can fill a vulture/fortune well before the hour runs out
and even if you dont, you can just leave and get a new contract
mhm
You can, but the only thing that really matters is the QD and the stock one is ok
i feel like the powerplants could afford to be better so i have more pips at my disposal
but not the most urgent i guess
Only way youll get more pips is with military A/B powerplants
mmm
is it worth taking the "adagio holdings in need of salvagers" mission? that sounds like the thing to unlock it all
rather than only having one contract
yup
not really tbh, rn it's just
shoot door -> enter pilots seat and unlock all ports -> pull components out
it would be nice if it didnt eat the comps when fraccing a ship but it does make sense, big ship entirely turned to dust
i'm only seeing about 12 scu ish of cargo grid storage space on the vulture, where do you get 39 scu
You've got the 12 SCU grid, the 13 SCu buffer, and then another 11 SCU off grid
so 36, not 39
offgrid...
usuall i just stuff the entire backside of the vulture til i can't get in the room
so then is the Ship Deconstruction Tech™ something like get in and unlock ports, detach guns and other neat things, scrape hull, fracture, scrape more hull?
disintegrate whenever?
You'd only fracture after you're done scraping
Cause that kills the ship and splits it apart
so fracture is the "i'm going to disintegrate" thing
i feel like when i frac'd it added more scrapable hull
on this mission
sometimes it bugs and adds it back to a previously scraped part, normally it's supposed to be the destroyed bits of the model instead of chunks with rmc still fully on
okey
i think last time i had that happen was like 3.23 3.24-ish then i stopped playing so often
aha fair
ok so i took off some of the guns, can i sell those anywhere in particular
Anywhere that sells ship guns should buy them, but just fyi they're worth very little
oh. so what physical comps should i actually care about
Anything that you want to use on your own ships
the new salvage missions ask for parts now, dont they?
yup
i can probably just... stockpile parts then
on a similar note where should i sell my rmc/cmat
Cmat you have to refine first, I think the best place to take that is the terra gateway (ill double check). RMC you can sell at either terra mills or orison, terramills should buy for slightly more, but its also more popular and has lower demand
Ok yeah, the pyro and terra gateway stations in stanton will buy CMAT, and you can refine it there too
terra gateway station is nice and close to where i choose to reside, could make it a primary residence. but sounds like it'll be a nice and easy spot
does cmat refining go through the same ore refining processes that exist or are those different
Its the same as ore yeah
also how likely is this all to change whenever 4.7 hits on wednesday (tentative)
It shouldn't change at all
well i guess im more just talking about if im gonna want to sell them elsewhere since crafting will go live
i actually... don't know anything about crafting
i should check for videos on that
is it worth trying to get cmat?
since it seems like cmat and rmc sell at different places
actually the answer to that might change in the future
Well, none of the new crafting stuff uses salvage materials, so you dont have to worry about it in that regard
I typically avoid cmat's, cause you have to go through the additional hassle of refining them, and I don't like mixing cmat and rmc in my buffer
cmat does sell for more than RMC, but you lose a lot of it in the refining process
yeah i saw, i did dinyx and lost like more than 50%
is there a way i can purge my buffer
so i can get the cmats outta there
Nope, gotta claim the ship, its a pain
claim the ship, take another salvager out go salvage it, repeat
insurance fraud
;D
well next question i have is uh
what ship would serve as a good mothership for a vulture?
Vulture? The polaris or the 890
i don't plan to do much solo mothership activity but it would be a neat thing to keep eyes open for
Idris too, but thats harder to get
Harder
more like almost impossible to get the wikelo idris
the 890's easier as you just need to tuck the front arms in a bit as you're landing. to offload your RMC you just hover outside beside the cargo door and toss your scu crates onto it.
The polaris fits(TM) but its kind of jank as you can only fit facing the two cargo bay elevators which means your back door for the vulture's away from the elevators which means if you wanna land in the hangar and offload cargo you need to run around the thing chucking crates onto the service elevators. If you try offloading by opening the cargo bay it opens a giant very long ramp which makes parking closer to toss crates in a little more awkward than the 890j
Using the polaris also suffers from the PolarisEffect(TM) in which everyone gets to fight a Polaris in Gilly's Mission #8 which results in you getting poked by people that know exactly how to kill you and sit in your blind spots no matter how many crew you bring/getting hit by a size 42 torpedo at any OM-or-station that decides they don't like you that day instantly killing you/having your polaris hijacked whenever you leave it alone to go salvage because people not only know how to get into them with a gladius and a dream and 30 seconds, but they also want the polaris
the 890J has the 890jEffect(TM) where you can leave every door open and the hardpoints unlocked and no one will look at it or fly off with it because it's an 890j
Polaris/Salvation is a nice combo, you can fly into the cargo bay to unload.
890j and salvation is nice cuz it fits in the ground elevator
Moth wise, which heads would be the winner? Abrades?
Abrades are the best for efficiency
Wish we had more tho
Or different salvage heads since abrades, trawler and cinch are only modules (like Rieger, FLTR and Focus)
Abrades are the usual recommendation. Cinch are so small as to be painstaking to use, and trawlers lose out a lot of yield.
actually trawlers end up slower too from other peoples math
I have an extremely dumb question.
I get what RS signatures are, but when I am in scanning mode on my MOLE they never show up. Do you have to like, point your cross hairs directly at the minable rock itself to get that info? Or is there a hidden menu toggle like emissions values
Be at full range/angle scan, and then just point in the general direction and the number should display
Make sure your radar has full power
It also sometimes requires you to scroll in and out on the range/angle when the servers are running poorly
Hmmm maybe it's that my radar isn't fully powered then, Ill have to check tonight
B 😭
Vulture doesn’t need a mothership
Plus no existing in game ship fits them all that well
You can make it fit in an idris
Unload the vulture over the ironclad
I wish you could accelerate the vulture with door open to leave the crates floating in space and give ironclad crew something to do
What do fteight elevators look like? I need ro pick up cargo
they are in your Hangar, usually 2 (one on each side) there is a cabin near with the terminal to control them
I mean the ones at outposts for example
that greatly depends on the outpost and on the System you are,
this is an outpost on Stanton
Thanks alot, so itss like a bunker and i walk inside there and find a terminal?
no, they have the terminal just outside, on the left side, they are on the sides of the landing pads
Thanks bro
Are mining gadgets still hella buggy to place?
Also on some Stations there are Cargo Freight Elevators
Buggy as hell yeah
Guys you gonna main base pyro or nyx? Resource wise seems right
Stanton
It’s not that hard to get to nyx/pyro, and the benefits of org gameplay with everyone kinda being in the same place outweigh the travel time to reach pyro/nyx imo
Still at Stanton, yeah, but do as you wish.
I just wanted to test the community, im a stanton animal
I hate the nyx and pyro stations, too rusty and dirty
I like checkmate
If it weren’t for being in an org and doing a lot of org stuff I’d be in checkmate
Closest to pyro 1, close to pyro 5/4,
But most trading happens in Stanton so most org stuff happens in Stanton
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
I was going to set my spawn at checkmate this patch, but I think I've changed my mind, and I'm gonna set spawn at A18 like I always do
is there an actual way of selling a 32scu container of slam?
Probably in Pyro I'd guess, check uexcorp
i flew to multiple locations but none of them accepted the container
is salvaging still OP asf?
what's the best method now?
To make money?
yes
Depends on whether or not you want to sell stuff to players
The economy is insanely inflated right now
And… with 4.7 launching more or less right now we don’t really know what the economy is going to do in the next few days, but it’s pretty safe to assume people will still need rcmbnts from Hyperion missions to get their wikelo idris/polaris
Hyperion also rewards 677k auec on its own, if you get it down to half an hour or less you’ll be making more than most contract based money loops
Outside of that, if you want to stick to industrial, mining is looking pretty good
and what is hyperion?
later mission in the onyx facility sequence
investigation tab for missions, in Stanton
thx i'll check it out
Where do you see haulage contracts in a year's time? I usually do haulage as my main progression route and I've built up a rather good reputation with Covalex, however I've noticed that haulage contracts are getting bigger, and my Freelancer MAX can barely hold a small/medium contract anymore. Eventually these ships are gonna be impossible to complete haulage contracts solo if CIG continues to increase the contract SCU size, and would leave cargo ships around this size obsolete unless you play with a friend.
Thats kinda how it works, bigger contracts give you more cargo. I don't think they've increased the amount of SCU the contracts give you over time, I think you're just unlocking higher level contracts that want you to move more cargo
A small junior/member rep contract most of the time now is around 86-98 SCU (I might be getting confused with medium), and that can barely fit inside of my Freelancer. My worry is that as the game continues to develop there is more chance of cargo contracts being increased by CIG to try and force a more co-operative gaming experience on the player, and this would make the solo experience impossible to fully complete a contract unless you have an C2.
I'm looking at the hauling contracts right now, and I'm seeing that there are multiple "sizes" of hauling contracts in each rep level. So like, I've got small/medium/large experienced rank hauls. Small is aimed at smaller ships, medium is aimed at midsized ships (like your freelancer), and large is for the large haulers. It might just be that you're taking big contracts instead of small ones
Ok correction, the mediums are meant for large haulers, and the larges are large haulers/the hull C, generally
Same rank and similar pay, but wildly different SCU loads
Also afaik, the SCU amounts for these contracts hasn't changed since they were added. It makes perfect sense that a medium hauler like a zeus or freelancer max can run medium sized member missions. Also, as you rank up and unlock higher tier missions, I think its reasonable for the game to expect you to get a bigger hauler
Do the new Nyx home stations have refineries?
I would agree with this, but then it also depends on availability. I know in the full release (when it comes out of Alpha) you'll be able to purchase every ship without having to go to the pledge store but unless you go to New Deal in Lorville to spend extra on a C2, you're out of luck/. I'm happy to do this but then I can only handle so much mass. Larger contracts still outmass a C2's capacity which in the current version of the game is less than the primary objective shown for a "large cargo haul" unless you are doing it with a friend.
Not sure what you mean by outmass, but the largest of cargo missions can be done with a hull C, which is buyable ingame as well
Ah, now I did forget about the Hull C 😅 . Hasn't that been having a lot of issues recently though?
Yeah its incredibly buggy as always, but it does exist lol
I'm encountering a lot of rocks that are un-scannable, what are the usual work-arounds to try and fix this?
Hows everyone enjoy the industrial side of this game now that crafting is out??
I'm kinda annoyed that they changed how high quality ore spawns last minute, but I understand why
Oh shits , what did they change???
On ptu wasnt it split
Between stanton and pyro
Ill use iron as an example
each iron rock has two different qualities of iron. One will be like 50% of the rock, but only 200-300 quality. The other one will be like 3% of the rock, but 500+ quality
so if you do find high quality stuff, you get a tiny amount
yeah heres what it looks like
They also just made 700+ quality ore rarer. I haven't found anything over like 750 yet, granted I havent been looking super long
How long have you been at it?
maybe 20 minutes? 30?
Not long, but Like in wave 3 PTU I'd have already found 800/900+ stuff
So it's going to be a slog
And rumors saying craft items will reset in upcoming patches
Can't find any solid reliable information from cig on that
If they wipe ppls shit like that, ppl will demand blood
Yeah I think people that had crafted stuff in PTU, the crafted items would have their stats reset after a patch

Anyone else able to confirm? Headhunter salvage contracts just fully missing now.
If someone has cfp rep as well, that would be worth checking too
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
Whish makes sense its the ptu
I mean, they were specifically testing the ltp for crafted items through several ptu patches and never got it to stop resetting.
Spent about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours mining on monox, found 3-4 rocks that were at or just above 800 quality
Not sure why, but I wasn't able to create a refinery order at checkmate. Orbituary worked fine, would anyone be able to check and see if checkmate works for them at some point?
anyone know how to fix a freight elevator manual issue? I have 6 32 scu of medical supplies that i put on cargo and sent down and when i try to sell it says i need to manual
#sc-screenshots message
Blueprints has 100% drop chance?
wheres good for golem mining in pyro? not played for a very long time
anyone tried out the new nyx hauling contracts yet?
The first gun I've crafted in the big 4.7, going to be a gift to an orgmate. What are ya'll gonna be crafting first?
Which org are you with
And did you get this maxed?
Im apart of Jokers Gambit, and no, this isn't even close to maxed
The max quality is 1000, and I used 800Q~ iron and 770Q~ hephaestanite
I did a decent bit of mining today, and the only thing 900+ that I got was a hadanite node. There was a couple ship mineables I got that were around 800, but that was it
Ahhhhh niceeeee!
I don't think I've seen anyone grab 1000q rock yet
Is there a mining guide anywhere?
search YT for 'El Guapoe'
Thanks
anyone managed to get power washing numbers for the MOTH yet?
Any recommendations for starting city for this patch?
Im always at orison
I usually do hurston
Sounds like hurston for you
I suppose I should also say I like salvage and hauling
Yeah I'm just wondering if it's a should be in nyx or pyro meta
Won't know until you try.
Guess it's hurston
After I start and setup my ships I usually settle for a station...usually Terra gateway because of the external cargo elevators, refinery and low traffic
what’s a good mole loadout cause I lost my saved one on spviewer
for cracking the biggest of rocks without needing a second mole
Hey did you guys get a fabricator?
yeh
where can i find lindium ?
I did an exclusive rockbreaker and the quality was fairly decent
Couple 750-800 rocks
Mostly mid 600’s
2 size2 hofstead was enough to break everything
Largest rock was above 10k
Anyone not getting paid from contracts?
I’ve done like 9 today with no money paid out
Is the Golem mining laser swappable or are you still locked into the Pitman?
Locked
If you're solo trying to break the largest rocks then you pretty much just want to do Helix with double surge on your large breaker head. Bear in mind there's way more subbreaking now so you'll want something softer too (I have a 2x filter hofstesde) on another station
I run reiger + surge stampede on my front helix, if I need more than that I just eva and change modules
Do new Nyx home stations have refinery?
The one I checked in PTU (alpha) did not. Very barebones. But, afaik, none of them do
Hello, i want to try trade rout, i have an hull c and a lot of money, what is the best route ?
txh you
im having a problem with my prospector. when i try to mine a asteroid the charge level wont show. i can manipulate the laser intensity but the charge level isnt showing. i had this problem in 4.5 4.6 and now also 4.7. is there a known fix for this?
On all rocks?
Usually my experience is that it can take a long time to show up sometimes. You just aim at the asteroid and leave it there until it shows up. If it take more than like 60 seconds it might be the server being messed up
The only other thing I can think of is not having your scanners powered or something like that?
Some rocks just aren’t scannable for some reason
That too
The scanner thing is debunked in my case. Since it actively was making the scanning noise. And the yellow outline on the rock was present
It’s just happened with every rock that I’ve done since I ever started ship mining
Are you sure you are going to minable rocks?
The ones with a frequency?
most rocks in the verse aren’t minable
Just static assets
yellow outline only shows up on minable rocks right?
Right
Or purple if it is small enough to extract
It’s no different solo than with a crew
weird, im in Yelas ring and it feels harder than before
Try the Aaron halo
Jump out to the wikelo station near Crusader then fly out anywhere away from the station
FWIW that halo goes around the entire system
the hell
The best place to mine in Stanton IMO (unless maybe you’re just targeting one specific material)
gonna need high quality Aslarite and Duratite for armor crafting
ouratite id probably do surface mining for, because of how rare it is
Scan from high atmo
Aberdeen or Arial
Hurston too… but… planet mining sucks
yeah, im almost grabbing my Cutlass Black with the Geo for that
It’s a ship minable, not geo
whack
right, so what's the best method of refining
Also Ferron to Pyrometric doesnt seem to be different in the yield
just cost
With these mining missions if we use a geo or mole to mine can we put the mining bag on the elevator and send it down to turn it in? If so do we get the bag back?
Dinx solventation remains king I believe but even the best methods now eat like half your load which is insane.
Kinda
For refining, yes
For turning in geo/hand minables, you need to move them from the bag and onto the elevator then bring it back up and send back down
Send down the bag/box, open it inside, drag the gems to the left, bring them up and back down, extras back into the bag, bring the bag back up
and the refinery has some glaring issues for now
the materials need to be dropped in the table
storing em in boxes doesnt work
Ah, you mean the fabricator has glaring issues
Works best sitting in a cargo elevator imo
im sityting with one right now. it says aluminum ore. it has been scaenned. i can see the optimal charge and overchargge llevels. but not the charge level itself- i have now been drilling it for 3 mins straight. nothing shown yet
Maybe server issues?
nope
Got a screenshot?
like i said. been consistent the last 3 large patches
I’ve been mining consistently in all three, so
have i been a dumdum
Rock too big laser too weak
Your laser doesn’t have enough power to move the needle
im a dumbass
Happens to us all
So you see on the right where it says "IMPOSSIBLE"? That's telling you your laser isn't strong enough to crack it. Generally, lasers have a rough mass of rock they can crack.
Hofstead maybe? But you’ll struggle either way with a rock that size
noted
I usually use helix + focus as my default mining head, you can use helix +surge of you want a big rock cracker.
i see
It's a module you can put into your mining head. Every mining head can take 2-3 attachments to change the values.
Reiger makes your laser stronger at the cost of a smaller window. Focus gives you a bigger green window, etc.
Surge is a temp module you can activate for a one time big boost in mining laser power.
Does anyone know if when selling minerals to commodity if price is influenced by quality?
It is not
so for my pospector. i should do rieger and surge?
along with a hofstede laser
I guess that simplifies that. Not that money even matters anyways. I think I'll mostly just be mining for org mates crafting
Baseline I’d run hofstead + reigerc3 or c2
But bring a surge or two in your backpack
noted
You can unlock ports and install it by hand
There are also one time use mining gadgets that can help but not really needed for this rock. This one was just too big.
maybe have a sabir on you if you run across a rock thats got good rarity and you cant break it
I personally default to helix + rieger c3/focus iii but I've been mining a bunch
all right boys, first post here:
trying to figure out what's up with new salvage missions
all I see is 325s and other ships that aren't worth taking?
here i though i was having persistent mining issues. and i was just being a dumbass
I default to helix too, it’s just not a great choice for people newer to mining
Yea fair
I wish there was a midsize mining ship that wasn't oriented around crew mining but fit the bigger mining heads. Mining in the mole is about all I do just because I dont want to deal with rocks I can't break.
Honestly less critical now too imho with the 4.7 changes.
i mean im not new to it. just ship mining
I agree. A new S2 miner would be fire but I don't think we are getting anything new until the Arrastra.
It’s all about how well you can handle the green zone
Mole forever. Condemned to the mole mines
Helix green zones can be a hair thin
that i know gow to
I don’t even mine gold when I’m solo with just a helix
Doesn’t feel worth the effort with such a tiny green zone
But yea 4.7 has turned everything on its head
Now a pure gold rock isn’t even something you come across
I havent seen any gold yet but all rocks I see in mining outposts are all 1 mineral
Gold might just be rare
i saw some in a bexalite rock i tried to mine
Also in case you don't know:
Mining equipment is sold on refinery decks at stations. Some stuff is now Nyx exclusive but I don't think that will impact you.
Only 49 scu
Id have to check but that's a lot prettier than the rocks I'm finding. Like 25k mass for 15-20 scu incl inert
But I haven't don't much yet. Mining feels way way slower now.
My mole bags were only 40% full after an hour.
Yeah they heavily increased material density
Thing is
That rock isn’t worth mining for crafting, the quality sucks
At most it’s good to produce 20ish scu of savrilium for wikelo
The 569 stuff would go straight to TDD
Unless it produces a full scu
I've seen gold in bexalite rocks out in Nyx
it pulls from the entire stash in the station?
Yes
I guess I'm excited for player refining now in the sense that it won't take 50% of my haul I hope
Pain
It doesn’t significantly change profits, in a sense
I've been slowly documenting where I see asteroid types. So far around the nyx stations I've seen Aluminum/Torite/Lind/Ice/Bex. Aluminum seems to be the rarer.
If you produce less per trip it’ll be worth more to make up for scarcity
Savrilium does exist out there
Quatity doesnt matter all that much since crafting uses so little
Usually within any 100km area in the nyx ring I was finding 1-2 rocks
Unless of course you're mining for cash
If mining for cash prob surface mining quant is the only time efficient way
There’s probably some things worth more than quant with high quality
Particularly for making weapons
Im speaking purely of selling at comodoty kiosk. Player trading is a whole other bag
Kind of excited to see the player market get online to see what obscene prices people will pay for 700+ quality minerals
If I leave my mole elevator open, can other players use the button to close it
I dont think so....
im having issues with this. i see the pods in my inventory. Ive sent the pods down into the station inventory. they have alum in them. i cant seem to unload them... what am i missing?
Aluminum in bags is raw and all you can do with it is refine it
then how do i turn in that mission? its asking for ore?
yeah that wants refined
ah
2 full scu’s
well now i feel dumb ty
Which… is probably a bit more than 4 unrefined
i have about 50 scu of it so im hoping thats enough lol
Yes you should be good, but do keep in mind it doesn’t merge different qualities into the same scu
So… 50 scu of 50 different quality would be 50 incomplete scu’s
ok perfect. thank you for your help
I saw lots of gold in fairo in pyro last night, but they were all very mass heavy so impossible for a prospector but feasible with a mole crew but even then they were only like 40-50 scu with most of that being bad quality gold and maybe 4-8% good quality
Iam dumb i have the argo mole and trying to mine argicium ore but nothing happens with the charge level. Iam approx 60m from the ore and have the stock laser head. Laser intensity is also 100%
Not enough power maybe? Are you in the optimal
U got get closer
How close? 10/20m?
FYI: you can buy those instead of mining them. Mission doesnt care how did you obtained the commodities.
Aluminium can buy from Nyx Gateway (Stanton) and Quartz from Microtec (Tressler)
You can also find it on larger salvage targets
I need help i sent stuff down freigh elevator and it wont let me sell it at city, it says manual delivery
this is driving me insane, i really need someone who understands the freight elevator to help
#sc-screenshots message
I mined some ore (ship mining) and should i land w my mining ship in a normal hagar at a refinery station?
Or do i have to so something w the cargo/ore in my ship?
What ship?
I havent mined for a short while but, i dont remember having to second crack so many rocks.... is this new?
Second cracking a rock that is <3scu... seems wrong and not what i remember
You just have to store it at a refinery station hangar
And yes they did a lot of mining changes with 4.7. more subbreaks, fewer scu in rocks.
Thank you!
Mole
I guess fabricator on Clipper not working yet?
Nope
there a website u guys use to find ores? or do i just have to go out and hope im at the right place?
much obliged
All right I wasn’t able to get a good answer earlier so I’ll try again
Ran an unverified salvage. Took the cargo and put it in a Hercules and went to sell it. Sold everything at area 18 except for the distilled spirits, which kept throwing this error
I’ve tried the following
- made sure the elevator was in fact lowered
- logged out and back in
- exited the game and back in
- reloaded it into my Hercules and went to new Babbage
Still getting the same error no matter what
What gives?
“Invalid quantity error, awaiting manual delivery to freight elevator”
The cargo was loaded and lowered in the elevator
I recently ( within 24 hours ) sold unverified salvage distilled spirits at grimhex admin, thats the best info I have for you
I’m having this exact error after checking his screenshot
the only other thing I can add is have you tried selling a single unit instead of sell-all to test that as well
^
what fresh hell is this, im getting empty cmat boxes left on my ship after refining?
Are you sure they're empty and not just 0% Quality as they don't currently have quality
no, they literally say "empty" when I tractor them.
thats a new one, oof
can I abandon the boxes in a non-residence hangar and they will be deleted?
Usually I just go up in orbit in my Hercules and space the unwanted boxes lol
You guys abel to buy more than one commodities at terminals to local storage? Was buying some cargo to sell at a station, could send one to local storage but then afterwards none of the choices would give me boxes, yet I could still buy cargo to be loaded on my ships
I want to avoid creating server clutter and navigation hazards if I can
Unfortunately what usually happens to stuff left in other hangars is it all comes back to your home on the next patch
(Source: this happened to me for 4.6 and 4.7)
So I did try every which way. Wound up opening a ticket instead
https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-200710
does the valkyrie have physical components?
it doesn't even have an engineering panel afaik
What's the best prospector loadout?
Is it me or does the prospector feel more usless now evrey ore Rock i find in nix has 20k Mass unless its ICE i Canot find any rocks that got less mass
a helix on a prospector with a rieger and stampede should be able to break ~25k rocks before resistances
I got a reiger idk what Else i got i think a Focus idk cant rember
But still Theres a Bunch of rocks even that loadout couldnt Deal with
I found a savrilium Rock that Had 114k Mass Not even a fully crewed Mole would of done that
Where is my volatile cargo blinky light gone to?

EDIT: The Quantanium change was indeed, a bug.
Previous Episode in case you missed ...
🙂
Wait
So
Quantumium isnt explosive anymore?
How does it let you know if you get a blueprint?
you get a notif atop your screen like when hangar queue
afaik no
not sure if it's a bug or a feature
So can take my bag off
I mean
They removed both the timer AND the volatile cargo indicator on the mole
yeah, this HAS to be on purpose lol
Plus jetisson cargo is gone
anyone want to mine some savrilium after work today (need 1 other mole and 5 crew)
whats best head and tools for general minign for mole and for prospector
Is Sadaryx only found in Rock Cracker?
Hand mining missions do I need to drop them manually every time?
why do i get the same payment if i haul 8 scu or if i haul 108 scu?
I rented a prpspector and found a asteroid with quantamium. I cant mine it it says resistance 100% impossible? Help
which is more profitable now? salvage or mining
When I mined it on day 1 of the patch the timer was still there... On the turrets only. Pilot is clueless. I didn't let it hit 0 lol
is the reputation you earn for salvaging seprate from illegal and legal version of salvaging contracts
What's the mass of the rock? It may be too big for you to mine. Otherwise, your laser is too weak and/or you need to lower the resistance with something like the sabir gadget
Solved it thanks
How do i refine my stuff now? And also whats the biggest mass a prospector can handle?
Rock too big
Use the calculator I told you about.
Well I know I'm the one who told you.
Go to a refinery station, store ship, refine like you used to, cry at how much you lose.
Prospector it depends on your mining head. Like up to low 20s if you're pushing it
First time refining and mining:/
!mining
Pushing it being a helix, surge, and Rieger
Not up to date to 4.7 but should be mostly good.
To refine, assuming you're in Stanton, you want the l1 stations like Hur L1 Faithful Dream, etc. once you store your ship, go to the refinery deck. The refining terminals are in the office above the refinery deck store which is also where you can buy mining equipment like new mining heads, gadgets, and modules.
Once you get to the refining terminal, select what you're refining from (prospector - it will appear if you stored it) and then chose dinx solventation and wait.
Thanks a lot
Whats best refining way for most profit? I dont care abt time
The chart wont open for me
Dynix.
Yep
I noticed the Ling Family rep ticks up past Rookie to Junior now - anyone find any higher tier contracts yet?
Using a prospector, is it better to be on a planet or look for asteroids? Every asteroid i find is too big
You want to be on planets or moons (I prefer moons personally)
Asteroids tend to be larger
Are there viable solo ships for asteroids?
MOLE if you can handle the ladders. MOLE is the only ship currently with S2 mining heads so it's the end of the road for mining ships atm as it has been since release. We haven't really gotten a major new mining ship since it's release like 8 years ago or whatever it was.
Prospector can do some of them too with the right mining head loadout but it's easier in a mole due to S2 lasers.
I have prospector rented with arbor mh1 laser, whats my max sized rock i can handle?
The calculator...
Use the calculator.
It depends on the resistance and gadgets you may use too.
The calculator has all that.
Thanks🫡
It's worth carrying a sabir or two in your backpack for mining runs.
which calculator? i went back a way in chat and i dont see a calculator mentioned. i did see the ! mining link and checked it out, some ok info in there.
I've helped them in #new-player-help , that's where I mentioned it. scmbd
legend. thanks
I don't like the UI and it's a bit confusing but it's very complete.
yeah, ive been doijng these calcs by hand 😂 didnt know there was a full on calculator
Only heard about it very recently, we had this for a while tho, thanks to @pearl juniper
The loss of Regolith hurts
The arrival of scmbd heavily compensates, only sad because the UI sucks ass.

Well, not better cause it seems to be missing basic feature like "disable mining head" but certainly easier to read overall.
Easier to read is a big help, since I have to check RS signatures and consult stuff on my phone as I only have one monitor. Maybe worth changing that.
Nvm it's just different, but there is.
Is a golem sufficient for the rock breaker mission
So I am trying to sell 83 scu of construction materials, station price is 15,875/scu, but sell price is coming up as 79k instead of 1.3m... is it factoring quality in and massively nerfing the price?
Sounds like the station is only buying 5 SCUs atm.
yeah. maybe im just caffeine deficient atm
Does local market value showing 0 scu "out of stock" mean its local inventory is full and its not buying any more right now?
no, quite the opposite i believe, means the thing is in high demand and they'll likelly buy all you throw on them
is it not buying your stuff?
i had issues buying Aluminium yesterday, had to swap destination for it to let me buy, the buy button were not showing
is normal to have this kind of bugs just after a big patch
yeah, it was not buying stuff. it errored even on an attempt to sell 5 scu
It looks like even refining after manually sending crates down the freight elevator still creates empty raw contruction material boxes too
Ore sales terminals don’t see to like buying some of the new materials
man, selling construction material is all kinds of wonky rn. I loaded all the crates up on a raft and took it to a diff station and it will buy it, but it lists every single create separately and only lists them under "resource container" instead of "cargo grid"
Looks like its this bug, can't bulk-sell anything that comes out of a refinery and has a quality attached:
https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-200231
with how long loading cargo can take sometimes, is it better to take higher profit per trade routes over higher profit per minute?
well
its gone
no indicator for volatile cargo means no volatile cargo at all
Are there no mining contracts in nyx?
If you switch to mining mode on the pilot seat the timer appears
is stileron included in another ore or is it rare?
its a primary ore, saw quite a bit of it in the glaciem belt in nyx, in pyro also
at first i thought they nerfed the crap out of stanton, thats why i was mainly finding 500-650 quality ore. but nyx and pyro seems to be the same. a majority of the ore is 500-650, with a bit of 800-950 sprinkled around.
i have on pyro 1
the iron*
Someone in org found iron 900+ in pyro somewhere
High qualities can spawn anywhere I think, seems higher chances in Rockbreaker rewards.
where can one find taranite in pyro?
looking for location info on Lindinium, Hephaestanite, iron new to mining any help and advice be appreciated
If I were a pirate, whats the most visited spot by traders and players?
whats a good Golem loadout to mine Copper?
Is there like a specific place on aberdeen where i can find hadanite, searching for over 30min now…
anyone know where the hell Ouratite is hiding?
Hurston and its moons should have it
There isnt a pyro source for it?
ngl, i kind of prefer the mining gameloop has turned into just cruising around 90% of the time instead of predominantly mining. 😂 they might need to add a snub ship to the mole so at least you can practice lowflying while looking for worthwhile ore.
Is anyone else having issues turning in salvage contracts for RMC delivery?
is dat crackable solo tho
anyone found taranite in pyro?
maybe someone can help me? I was trying to mine with a Golem today, being on fracture mode I'm trying to adjust the charge level with my mouse wheel but it doesnt work at all. I've been into the settings and can't find anything than this. Do any of you have a clue what I'm doing wrong? Hand mining is working with alt+mouse wheel.
just tried prospector, doesnt work aswell
I assume you've tried just scrolling up without holding alt
alt+scrolling controls the speed meter
Anybody in here willing to teach my dumb ass how to mine? i have the ships and know how to operate the equipment. i need help with per ship loadouts, where to find different minerals without flying around scanning aimlessly, and prospecting practices. only really dabbled in mining and wanna get to pro status so i can mine with confidence
mining seems pretty clunky now, just refined my first prospector run and it delivered every separate grade of the same ore in a unique box
Yeah, there are lots of complaints about every separate grade of ore filling up pages upon pages of inventories
trying to sell 17 listings of the same ore is also pain
Can't imagine what the Mole crews are going through right now
trying to get rep with shubin intersteller, whats the fastest way?
Can someone carry me to a solo mole setup?
whats a better mining laser to use, impact II or klein S2?
in what sense?
whatever is best for solo play in the sense that there wont be any rocks i cant mine
in a mole
If you want power, than helix 2 is the play. Then a hofstede can be good for a secondary laser for smaller rocks
IF you want a main that doesnt debuff as much, than id go hofstede 2
Klein can only have 1 module, and an impact has the same max as a hofstede
although one less mod slot
Yeah, I run a hofstede as my main, and have another laser with a helix and 3 riegers
Yeah nah, thats too much for me lol. More power to you though
then a hofstede with a rieger anc surge and a hof with impact and xtr
i mine in areas where you see like 120k rocks so
it aint enough
if my mole gets blown up will my new components (lasers, modules etc) still be there when i claim it?
yeah
Once you change the loadout and call it, all of those will restock when repaired or claimed
helpful when using active modules with limited charges
what do all those do
Modules can do many things
A reiger c3 increase power by 25%
its passive so always active
So for your main laser, youd want that likely
a Surge increases by 50% but it lasts 15 seconds when activated and you got 7 charges
after that, it poofs
I run a rieger and a torrent on my hofstede
Rieger gives power and the torrent increases charge rate
is it just a liniear increase the higher you go or is there any reason to use a lower number
Yeah they're just straight upgrades
Ideally use the highest
than carrying some gadgets to help with tricker rocks can help
whole other ball game
so what modules should i run on my helix?
Whatever gives you more power, the helix is for cracking the biggest rock you can with 1 laser. So you could do triple riegers, surges/stampedes, or a mix. Just depends on how comfortable you are using the active modules
id like to just use passive if possible
3 rieger c3s(passive) = 75% power increase
3 surge (active) = 150% power increase in increments of 50
Do passives stack?
is there any reason to just not use the helix for everything?
It can be too poweful for some rocks
For secondary breaks, might overcharge
also, it makes the charge window smaller
The hofstede is much more comfy to mine with
theres pors and cons to everything
Helix = power but less green window
Hofstede - little less power but comfy
some websites can help calculate loadouts
gotcha ty that makes sense
An older site but has some good resources
what are turrets 1 2 and 3 on the vehicle loadout screen? like what turrets do they correspond to on the ship
perfect ty
so i could have a hofstede with one rieger and one torrent for example and then a helix with riegers on it for pure power?
correct
then you can jump laser to laser
if one doesnt work, move up in power
hofstede first, no dice okay helix
makes sense perfect ty
Front laser
Helix
2 surge
1 rieger
Right laser
Impact 2
2 torrent
1 focus
Left laser
Hoestede
Rieger
Focus
This set up sound good?
should handle most situations
What would be the best MOLE config for mining high quality mats? I would ideally say the side heads be focused as much into power as possible to have the best chance at cracking the rock then the front head be designed for yield on extraction but I have no idea if that the right way to go about it or the needed parts to do so, I'm completely new to mining
solo or crewed?
solo or crewed matters
What are best ores to mine?
anything that is quality 850 or higher
sell to other players
Where can I check quality?
Where can I do that?
On the rock scans results.

Quality now shows up when you scan the asteroids. Each will have a lower and higher end quality
Im right in thinking if i solo mole, i cant only use a single laser still?
What are people finding the best laser/mods for prospector are atm, was just doing some stat comps for hofst and helix
Both? I have 3 MOLES, I'll be solo sometimes and crewed other times
That's for #looking-for-session .
I haven’t logged on this patch yet but was the moth fixed?
yup, it was.
i shared one set up that is good for solo lets you handle most general jobs
Shouldnt I try to get the S-Tier minerals?
If you just want to sell to the tdd, sure. But mining is about more than that now. Everything has value (for crafting) if the quality is high
Okay cheers
how do we clear inert material from bags now?
Ore sales terminal
aww thanks
Can also sell ore that you don't want to refine. Refining isn't all or nothing any more
isnt it still a better return to just refine?
i am noticing refining times are way better now which is awesome
Yes, but if you don't want to deal with moving the boxes of low value stuff you can still get something for it
Are there any big rocks with good ore in 4.7
is it worth using the mole or will the golem will work on rocks with good ore
definitely need the mole to break some big rocks was watching guapo out on it
i am having fun on the golem though
how is the quality hunt for everyone ?
for me i mined alot in pyro and my highest yet is 890
over a span of abt 6 hours lmao'
where to find hephaestanite
Does ore quality show on normal ship scan ?
monox
no, only when you scan it with mining mode
Ish. Scrape speed multiplier is working but too low. Auto eject bugs out if you leave it on and then quantum, it starts ejecing 1scu crates. Buffer is 64scu and it does not lose thrust when full though
Salvaging loop has problems on the cmat side, refining leaves empty boxes in inventory and selling doesn't work unless you sell 1 crate at a time.
What minerals are most sought after atm?🙂
yeah ive only found 4-5 900+ nodes, mostly in nyx. think i found one in pyro. for whatever reason CIG thinks the thing that makes mining fun, is just cruising around, not actual mining. 😂 those goobers.
you mining around QV stations?
I hope they increase the amount of 900+ ore when when can craft bigger stuff like ship components or ships that needs SCUs of ore
hello. this is my first discord message ever. going to download 4.7 soon.
Do the breaker stations not have much ore ?
whats the proscpetor loadout i should have?
Are unverified salvage contracts, verified salvage contracts or random panels the best?
anyone want to buy Hadanite Q953 ?
I am not new to the game but new to salvaging and all the changes. How different is the reclaimer salvaging vs any other like the Argo moth? I took me awhile to figure out that you now must refine salvage. Just wondering if the reclaimer is any different?
Anyone found taranite in pyro?
Where can i find most panels in stanton?
No different
@blazing patio thank you
We found several large tungsten rocks this morning, feels like the mole is less capable of breaking high mass rocks than it was in 4.6 and older
A 100k+ rock took a helix 2 with rieger 3 surge stampede, 2 impact 2’s with reigers, AND a stock golem + prospector that were helping us scout
We were hunting anything 800+
Got that big rock, a few 75k’s, and a bunch of smaller ones, all 800+
Love Beam
Where is aslarite found?
Aaron halo has it
Ahh, good to know. Thanks!
remember, if you knew, that there is a jumpable station in Aaron halo, Crusader's Wikelo.
Ooh, that's clever
Is there a reason why after I refine all my Construction Pieces, I still have a ton of empty construction pieces boxes in the frieght elevator storage?
This team will truly have to be title card
The main differnce in Salvage ships is when it comes to the CM (aka CMATS).. for the Vulture and smaller ship do rubble CMATS after refining it.. The MOTH does Pieces after refineing CMATS and the Reclaimer does Salvage after refined CMATS. Those are to help for when it comes time to building bases/possible ships in the future.
Is there a way to combine small 1,2,4 scu crates into 24 or 32 scu ones?
Not yet although you can store multiple 1scu crates in an 8scu StoreAll for example (good for moving big loads of 1scu salvage) note does not work with mission cargo. Repacking is planned for the future
does anyone know how many "small purchase order: hand mined resources" missions are needed to get to the publick rock breaker missions?
anyone experiencing the MOLE saying 0/0SCU while harvesting
is that just a visual thing?
the hand minded gems aren't worth it after the intro mission for shubin, mostly just slow and annoying to find the gems unless you're doing the lowest paying one i think
if you have ship mining ones unlocked you can just use bought commodities, it doesn't seem to have a check in place for if you actually refined it or if you just bought it
[the only missions i get so i can progress to the jr rank are the hand mined ones. how else can i progress the rep?
ah, well damn i only had to do like 2-3 of the low rank ones before ship mining popped up
maybe just keep cracking at it a few more times then once you have ship mining unlocked you can either mine and refine yourself or i got excess copper and aluminium for random people to grab
also, its my first time mining in stanton. ive only ever mined the last 2 days in pyro. i am not getting the "Unknown x.x KM". just the bubbles. but when i get close it it, the bubbles disappears and no rocks anywhere near it
try flying low to the surface (about 1km) and repeatedly pinging, gems should show up around 2-3km away when you ping so you can ignore anything way far out since those tend to be ship mine-ables
i've had fair luck on daymar and it seems if you take the gem missions any caves nearby you get a highlighted marker above them too so keep a eye out for that
yeah i did that, basically low flying the mole. lol. and i can not get any Unknown x.x KM thingies. but in pyro, it was available
whats the best solo mole loadout
was not a visual bug, did not get to refine the stuff i was harvesting

If it's a visual bug it usually fixes it's self as soon as any material is collected
I got ship mining after 1 hand mining mission
Do need I need rep to get the Rock breaker mission?
how am i unable to crack a 20k bexelite rock with a mole
i got a helix 2 with 2 reiger c3 and a focus and its impossible to crackj the damn rock
Whats the best spots to go for good quality ores? Been in pyro all day but i haven't found shit
High quality ore can spawn anywhere, pyro is supposed to have a higher chance overall. Go to a planet that has the resource you want, and just hope and pray it doesn't forever to find some in good quality
yep, shubin mining rep
jr for shared version and contractor for exclusive where no one but npcs will bother you
shubin rep missions are in stanton around any of the main 4 planets under mining
Afk, right now. but I have been trying to keybind to vkb gladiator evo sticks. Stuck with not able to flip into quantum drive no matter what I assigned it to it . Has this had to anyone?
I'm very confused right now I got the hand-minibles I'm at one of the shubin facilities I put it into the freight elevator now what do I do I sold one as a test but it didn't register for the mission?
as long as you took one of the missions it should tell you which location to go to. send the hand minable minerals down in a stor-all box down the elevator and pull them out in the inventory. Bring the pieces the mission requested up the elevator and then send them back down again. It should count
OMG that is stupid that missions says to sell it not sell it from the freight
whats the name of the mission?
pretty sure it does say to deposit them in the freight elevator
it says to sell it
I now have the mission to turn in 2 Iron is that refined?
yes
can buy it from any tdd that sells iron or refine it yourself, or take it off a ship
So just to be clear when we mine now if we don't collect the exact quality enough to get an actual one SCU box it will always put it in a one SCU box but at a lower capacity of that particular Q ore how do we consolidate the different qualities that are similar do they Auto add to previous qualities?
Is golem or MOLE better as a solo? Mole is bigger but id guess it isnt efficient as solo
I have a 2 SCU box of copper and doing this mission what says 2 of copper I place it in the lift and nothing happens with the mission?
Can we sell incomplete boxes of materials? IE .846 SCU of titanium if we just wanna clear it out? Or will the vendors only take complete SCU boxes.
Mole I think is probably better cause even solo you have a widerrange of possible rocks cause u can alternate mining heads for w/e you need
Where are we mining btw for a good turnout? Is around Levski still a thing?
Ok so ran into what im guessing is a bug, was selling my titanum and stuff in pyro. Picked up some widow to run back to stanton because why not? Landed got to the terminal selected the product i wanted to sell. Said move everything manually to cargo grid. No worries, moved everything sent the freight elevator down to register it. no payment... go back to terminal still saying the same thing move to grid.
Now the product is gone.
and if i fly away now its saying im abandoning cargo lol
so confused
Been out of the mining loop since 3.24 … is there a cheat sheet for different resource signatures and what is required to crack them
looking to farm the mats for antium , never even heard of stileron can it be had with a prospector
Tossed a helix 2 and a focus on a mole . Looks like these might come in bigger rocks I can’t crack with prospector
not enough .. whats everyyone using to collect stilleron
Wheres the best places to farm matts for the armor
anyone found taranite in pyro?
is it only in stanton?
So with the new 4.7 material mechanics, once i get my refinement job complete, and i now have an inventory of refined stuff. How do i transport this now via a raft or such? I have to load it into empty SCu containers?
At the refinery, go back to the terminal and you can choose a destination. My ship was stored, and it came up already loaded
However, last night like 20 1scu boxes were crammed into 1 spot lol
Question could some give me some information on when to use a saber or a optimax on a rock as a guideline.
Where's a good place to solo mine with a prospector, preferably Stanton? Was trying to on dynmar, since I did mining there pre 4.7 but found fuckall worth a dam after 45min so I gave up
Whenever you think the rock is just slightly too big to crack with your laser alone, thats when I bother putting a gadget on
I'll also put a gadget on if its a high-value rock that is going to be difficult to crack. I don't wanna blow it up, so I take the time to add a gadget, and make it easier on myself
That's why you don't deliver directly to your ship
Ah, is this a common occurrence?
yup
Cause, loading all those 1scu boxes by hand sounds like a huge pain
