Pyro is an entire PvP focused solar system
Like I said, take away the drag strip and the kids will go street racing. Align and Mine is the drag strip.
And PvP is capable of happening almost everywhere, and eventually probably will be possible everywhere, since the long term goal is to remove armistice.
Almost everything they do seems required to involve combat.
Pyro is quite peaceful those days, even the hot spot like Shepherd's rest (I salvage and scavenge a lot over there) or sunset mesa. Actually in my opinion, Hathor areas and routes like Levski -> Stanton gateway are more dangerous than Pyro.
(And supply or die was the best event ever)
It was I miss it
The price surge needs to be the same way
the place that sells the cargo needs unlimited stock and the place that sells it needs to buy unlimited amount of the cargo and the profit needs to be way better
I miss the never ending war at the Detatrine depots
Detatryne fever got me
Good question
Last event you did, the rep you needed for rewards didnt split when sharing them. There was huge groups of 10+ people doing it together and finishing in under an hour
Hathor is a PvP focused area DUE TO the pure caranite you can ONLY get there
Yub but this doors are sometimes hard with 16SCU container
i filled it
I only stacking in salvage processing and keep cargo hold for Ursa medivac and looted cargo and component
But it's always nice to see a full belly claimer
Good morning. Just got this game last night. I am interested in using the starfarer to make fuel, to both sell and merc myself out. I am curious if that is a thing. And if so. How long does it take for it to fill itself up with the fuel it makes. Thanks!
I don't think thats a thing
And if it is, it's VERY inefficient as i have never heard of it
it's not really a thing due to the fact they have each station spaced out so you can jump from one station to the next refueling as you go so starfarer doesnt have much use rn, pyro was supposed to be more spread out iirc but then they either moved them closer together or added more stations so you couldn't run out of fuel unless you didnt pay any attention, iirc they also did a pass on ships increasing the amount of fuel they hold so you wouldn't need to refuel as often
I have found that departing from and landing at New Babbage can be tricky with that ship since it can roll with the winds and in the clouds you can get going in the wrong direction. So what I do on most departures including Orison is use the Boost key repeatedly (in SCM mode) and keep the ship in VTOL mode. You can use the F4 view to help make sure your going up plus the vertical speed numbers should be rising also. As you get higher up start looking for a jump point. If one turns blue you can drop out of VTOL go to NAV mode but keep using the boost key until you get into space. As far as modeling crate weight on landing I don't think that is a thing yet. I can land my Reclaimer on a any moon/planet as needed and take off again.
with the current mass it takes me 5 minutes to get out of microtech's gravity
Yea that sounds about right it's just the way it is.
Dang. Well still enjoying the early game. But I guess my plans to be a fueling ship merc are not a thing. Maybe further into development.
It's tricky.
Not sure if it's real or placebo but hitting the "Attach" button seems to help, or whatever this button in top right corner of the gadget's screen is called.
trying that but doesnt seem to help
Hey do you ever find the need to fly the Reclaimer in full thrust rocket mode?
when in vtol or traveling on planets and moons yes
i tend to need to use the qd to get around rather then base output mode
anyone want to group up and run Red Wind rep?
Use the #looking-for-session channel š
You don't see the placement prompt?
no there is no green holo @long frost
yay, I love randomly blowing up when cargo hauling
So just got a hull c. When doing larger and multiple missions and loading through cargo dock, can you load multiple missions at once and drop off or does it get buggy?
It's very hit n miss, it can handle multiple contacts simultaneously loading and unloading but its even more prone to failure than a single contract
Got it. Next time Iāll sign the contract, load, select next contract. I think it worked off of what was being tracked. Idk lol. Felt it was hit or miss. Found a rotating that was like 2k scu to drop off in two location, but then the next stop rotated to the second rotation and back home and the third spot took me home so allowed me to keep the hull full off loading and loading.
Not sure it liked unloading and loading at the same time lol
Too bad it doesnāt work from mission screen like ādepositā or āpick upā for cargo dock.
Yeah it can be quite intermittent, I had it load /unload successfully on several missions at once but was probably lucky lol
Hahaha. Noted
More control over the loading would be good
All good. Itās a process and I respect that. Glad I can turn in half way loaded at least.
Btw. Laden hull c maneuvers like a brick.
as it should
A fully laden hull C flys like a light fighter compared to the MPUV tractor carrying 4 batteries
Do medical beacons function in Pyro? I was going to setup shop at checkmate and play in the sandbox as a medic. Kind of hard to do if hey donāt work there.
Is there some trick to getting quantum/jump drives out when scavenging? I can get them 3/4 the way out on some ships but it just snaps out as soon as I release. Only time ive ever got it is when I accidently glitched it through the hull
unloading the reclaimer be like
oh did you happen to refine those at a refinery; thatās Construction Salvage right?
now i gotta do the cargo bay
no
gonna load all this onto a cat
ah, youāre not hoping to sell that stuff are you?
Ahhh
nice
could you do me a solid and post the refinery order quote with the pyrochromatic (something) option
trying to see the ratio on it
Though I saw a vid recently where a multiple contract hull c unloads cargo to get to the contracted cargo, unloads that and then re-loads the other cargo
Yeah it does and should but as always with the Hull C it's hit n miss whether it works
It can fail to load, unload or just load or unload one contract, sometimes calling cargo ATC again will get it to finish, other times it just doesn't work. #HullCLife
gonna be tomorrow its 12am and my left hand is locking up
well yeah but in my experience it isn't just always pain, it has moments where it feels better orr worse
I miss my reclaimer
oh my starts with a dull pain followed by it tighinting up to where i cant use it
When I did my grind to master haulage my mouse wheel finger was destroyed
the mech makes moving them so much easyer on the mouse wheel use
yeah it's nice, though I was just printing 10 of the sixteen scu boxes, snap to grid, then dock at a refinery station, unload from terminal, and repeat until empty
lots of back and forth though it ammounted to like 1-2 mil an hour at peak efficiency
I wanna say it was during 4.5 ptu though
ccu'd it to a perseus and frankly it was a mistake
Chris, where my abandoned ships at space stations salvage with no crime? We gonna help servers by clearing other peoples junk
Youre crazy going back and forth like that. š«”
Come to pyro
Nah bruv, im good. Dont wanan get mugged
Pryo is space Detroit
Urban legend
I can told you that Pyro is safer than Stanton, if you avoid hot spots like Shepherd's rest and Sunset Mesa. But it's a very common idea, what I tell you is not good for my business ! More people trust that Pyro is a danger zone more wrecks for me š
every industrialist avoid Pyro, so all the Pirates are in Stanton to get them
I vouch this, as a fellow pyro salvager
I love how afraid of pyro people are. It's funny
Pyro has more freedom then Stanton imo
The pirates I encounter in Pyro wait politely for me to finish dropping off my cargo at Shepherd's Rest then fight me as I'm leaving š©
I've definitely been attacked for minding my own business more in Stanton š¤£
Or shoot you down before you pick it up so you can come back and do it again!
cat load was about 10-20% of all the cargo from the reclaimer
once im home from work imma run the rest via C2 the hull c will draw to much attention
š¤ bro
Keep stanters in Stanton but I'm always amazed by there feeling about our home system
Pyro is definitely home
There is a trick to it, but you gotta learn your own way in pyro
What's best in life than to be in a 'claimer, with a cold Rust and a Aloprat skewer, munching some stanters ship wreck and see those credits filling our fillers ?
After all that shipping, I kind of welcomed the PvP, especially since I had just finished the contract.
From a hauler's perspective, there's one little issue with trying to avoid Shepard's Rest. One of the intro hauling missions requires you to go there.
Yeah hauling is more dangerous that's true, I was speaking more about salvagers and miners
The one time I tried doing salvage in Pyro, which was admittedly during an event, I got attacked before I could even start. That was quite a while ago though, and before the Reclaimer had PDCs.
Space mining, in Pyro, wasn't fun either. Not because of players, but because the asteroid belts were so small and had very little to mine. Granted, this was during the same event.
I've had good luck mining and salvaging in Pyro, but I really think it's just that - luck. I usually just pick a random asteroid field and fly around.
That said, I have had my Vulture shot up doing the repair missions near Scrapper's Depot or whatever it's called. Can't see the point in shooting up a Vulture other than "fun".
Honestly the most dangerous part is getting back into station - all the little 1/8 SCU boxes floating around the hangar entrances are like invisible death traps.
No idea why 1/8th SCU boxes would be floating around hangar entrances, that sounds really weird. Only time my Vulture ever got shot at in Stanton, was by an NPC, that was in a fight with another NPC. I ended up taking out the one that bothered me and salvaged it in addition to the mission ship I was doing.
That's the point, vulture/prospector shooters. I can understand to be disabled to stole my RMC, that's a business move. But just be exterminated for fun that's another problem. Sometime I come back with more teeth and try to take revenge.
Fwiw you'll have to goto pyro to mine Ice after 4.6
Thats one of the ores for contracts
1/8 boxes come from delivery missions
And your stuff stocked in your ship inventory. And also with 4.5 all ships have fuse and canister stocked in so more 1/8 crate
Unless there is a lot of PvP activity going on just outside the hangar, I would expect the boxes to either be delivered or abandoned near the delivery location inside the station. Not floating outside.
1/8s are good to carry in the prospector with extra cruz etc
i use them to give stuff to friends, instead of just droping items on the floor
I carry my Cruz in my backpack, or armor.
Goodie boxes
Only time I got given stuff, it was in a 1 SCU box. And was stuff the people I was playing with and I looted during a mission. Way way back when.
I also have used 1 SCU boxes for player to player item trading.
I wish they'd add a proper item trading system though
Got the same in the claimer mess hall full of beer and Aloprat skewer
I always put my loot in a 1 or 2 SCU box in the cargo hold, makes it easier to move to hangar or
retrieve when my ship gets š„
The value in pyro mining is on the surface, and the value in pyro salvaging comes after higher rep in HH where you can get two large ships to salvage at a time with nothing to fight
Iāve never been bothered by players mining in pyro
Pyro was probably more active/hostile before I started playing last May
But itās been pretty safe
is anyone doing ahuling missions rn if so do you mind carring me to member rank ?
I canāt see the bulk missions for covalex. I have the āexperienceā rep. Do I need to be in a certain station/system or are they not in 4.5?
Hey, sorry if i dont post in the right channel, i'm beginning trading with a Raft, when i'm attacked by pirates i dont have any chance...
What would u take between a Taurus, Corsair and a Starlancer Max ? I'd like to have a decent cargo and be able to defend myself, the Corsair looks great to defend itself but not that much cargo
I'm open for other ships under 8-9m, ty !
Quick question for any other reclaimer owners out there, how the hell do you operate the drone station? or is it not functional yet?
drones still in development
to my understanding
gotcha, thanks for the info!
The whole ship is a kind of museum, it was made before salvage system and cargo system, it's Witness from the past.
So you can use it (I do) but it's waiting for a complete rework.
I did see that theres an internal redesign in progress. I'm honestly excited for it, I'm loving the salvage loop. I made it my goal when i started playing and learned about the ships existence to save up to get one. I managed to raise about 5 mil using a rented vulture. right when I was debating on purchasing a vulture to save costs, I got hired by a random player to run Hyperion with him. He was offering 10 mil for it so i hopped on instantly. Told him about my goal and by end he surprised me with the full finds to get one
Success story ! You are living the salvage dream !
That's my favorite ship too, and I have it for long now. That's the Nostromo vibes interior who got me.
But yeah I heard about the rework and I seriously hope that they will do it soon and maybe a possibility to refine (instead of the useless grinder taking too much place) and a better cargo grid and new elevator/ramp system ect ect (but I hope they will not touch the dirty Nostromo style)
Big same, I'm honestly hoping for the refinery and replacing the elevator with/adding on a big ramp. If i could park an SRV or something in there it'd be perfection.
Though ive never heard of nostormo, youve got my interest peaked. Gotta look it up now
Just googled it, holy hell I'm in love
Alien 1 ship
In the original concept they talk about a snubship
Is there a list somewhere of ships that have build in tractor beams?
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
Man, SC really annoyed me. All I wanted to do was take some refined ores to market and sell them. So, after grabbing the refinery order I get in my loaded up Golem Ox, hit F2, and the game just freezes. After closing the unresponsive game and running it, I'm shard locked (which is fine) but when I connect, it's to a different shard. I'm guessing the whole shard I was on crashed.
I wake up in the hab, go pull out my ship, and all the ore is there. So I try to plot a route to A18 to sell the ore, but it just won't do it. So I do it manually, basically. I get to A18, call for a hangar, and when I'm slowly going into the hangar clearly marked as mine, suddenly I get repositioning player. And it doesn't go away. I exit to main menu, log back in (getting the same shard by sheer coincidence) and find out that my ship is "Unknown" along with it's cargo. The ship I could claim, but the cargo I can't get back. So, that was not a good session.
The last time I was at A18 I was repositioned also....and I got a crime stat for trespassing.
Fwiw if you had issues before taking the ore down....I suggest you store it and wait to sell it to avoid any bigger issues.
The first issue I'd had, was on a different shard. (The QT routing issue may have been due to obstructions and CIG's poor design of that system.) When I actually went down to sell it, I was on a totally different shard. (The name was different, even though I was shard locked.)
If I stopped trying to do anything any time I experienced an issue in the game, I'd never be able to do anything. There are likely thousands of unpatched bugs that you can encounter. With the number going up faster then it goes down.
Ironclad in greybox review š„³
The only real defense you have against piracy in a cargo ship is running, and not getting interdicted. You wonāt be able to fight back as a solo pilot in a Connie or raft, Corsair might have a chance if you have gunners, but generally if you are attacked by a smaller ship with a half decent player pilot, they can just stay in your blind spot till your power plant is off.
And⦠generally youād be better off with escort fighters than gunners
You could play the big ship game and do cargo in an idris or Polaris, but even those are vulnerable to a pirate that is willing to sit there and shoot for a while
If they have a dampener
Just gotta consider it part of the equation when doing cargo in more dangerous areas
Yeah most of the time i'm just getting interdicted
So okay i can't fight back, i'll just take my raft and pray, It's sad, but I suppose it makes sense, a lonely cargo ship can't do much against a group of pirates
I stay in Stanton, but it doesnt feel like it's safe actually, or maybe i'm just not enough experienced to know where i can go
Thanks for the answer !
Gotta do dog legs when you jump
Like not going straight to my objective ?
That, and avoiding orbital markers
Tbh Stanton is more dangerous, when it comes to being interdicted
The distances are smaller, and thereās more people there to be interdicted
More value moving around
It makes sense, i'll try that
I see, i've never tried Nyx or Pyro so maybe its time !
In pyro youāll really only get interdicted on a direct path from checkmate to Stanton gateway
In nyx⦠you only have three points to jump to atm
So dog legs are harder, gotta accept a contract to get a good one
In pyro the danger is the places you stop rather than interdiction
Picking up cargo from a ground outpost is always dangerous in pyro
It looks worst haha, i wont be able to run away if i'm landed
Thanks for the advice, i think it will be great to avoid most of the pirates !
Usually if Iām hauling something valuable, like wikelo mats from checkmate, I wait for someone in org to be doing it as well, and maybe get an escort on top of that. Strength in numbers
Man these external cargo grids for hauling missions are finickyā¦
wdym? i have yet to give a external freight a go, is it like boxes have to be damn near exactly lined with grid or moreso some bug
Iāve found them really convenient, but sometimes they wonāt let you use your tractor beam
Also I wish I didnāt need to enter and exit my mole to lock/unlock ports, currently if Iām unloading it solo at an external elevator I gotta unlock ports, get out, offload, get back on, lock ports, go inside and refine/sell, come back out, enter mole and unlock, exit and load up the bags, fly off
Though⦠this is mostly due to the bug that wonāt let me refine directly from the mole, if that was fixed itād be a moot issue
Referencing the hull c hauling cube thing you park into and it auto loads
I think the external elevators are fine
ah good ol hull c
Ah, hmm⦠Iād rather that go away, in favor of some kind of QOL around attaching things to grid
If we could just sling things at the big external cargo grid and they be auto-caught and attached,
i wish they would fix it and not have it break the nanosecond the servers start
I agree. Give me a minigame where I load it on like a computer screen and voila it appears.
And, multi-box grabbing with the ship tractors would be nice
Grab a whole wing of boxes on the hull c at once
Put a tractor beam on the freight platform I say
yeah that'd be pretty sick or something like hardspace: shipbreaker with little tethers to tie them together while you move it
The auto loading is nice, but Iād rather we just have better tools for doing it manually
i fear the physics tho
I agree. I just donāt feel like loading 50 boxes. But give me a satisfying and challenging way to do 10-15
Tractor on the elevator that has that feature would suffice
And would support the herc
Think about it. Youād give someone a full time job. Iād sit at a loading dock and move stuff for people and get paid haha
If you store the Mole, you should be able to refine directly from it. That is what I do. I've done it with my Reclaimer too. But the ship does have to be stored.
should be able to yea
but the last time i went mining this patch levski wouldn't take it without pulling the bags off
Might be a problem with Levski's refinery then, works fine for me in Stanton.
I dropped off two loads earlier today.
The gateway stations in Nyx also have refineries, those might work properly. Haven't tried them though.
How itās salvage rn? I can see they didnāt change the % yet of refinery. Or missions are good enough?
Unless it changed in Stanton the legal salvage missions had big ships like the C2...
with all the new missions theyre adding for salvage and changes to panel spawns, i really hope they shadowdrop the reclaimer redesign with it. itll be so nice to have an updated and mork workable interior
@next idol same shit u loose 80% of salvage by refining and refineries got no XL hangers so u have twice more work of u salvage in Stanton
damn
i wonder why ist taking so long
they put it as a problem to fix in the issue council
i think % of salvage lost is not an bug ,they lowered % of refined ore from mining too iirc
they increased the sale price to offset that though, didn't they?
Yes, but not enough to make it not a loss in profit for salvaging (for mining it was an increase in profit, ignoring quant)
@grand shuttleyep, though if we talk bout salvaging and constructing material refine they added tons of work,
and price not raised enough to cover it,
especially if u salvage in Stanton amount of work is absurdal, cause lack of xl hangars at refineries.
but now you can refine from the reclaimer by docking iirc
its just that the % seems very off even with the price changes
more if you play with people, the payoff its absurd
Which⦠is because adding more players isnāt increasing the amount of output enough to warrant having more players
Increasing the value of cmats/rmc or outputs from printing/salvaging wonāt help with that
With mining having more players can be beneficial, if it leads to more very valuable rocks being found because thereās a big enough price difference between a regular rock and a jackpot to make it make sense
(Again, ignoring the player market price of quant)
Because thereās no real value in scouting, or ship combat, or cargo handling with salvage, the only benefit you see is having a second player sitting in the reclaimer laser, but thatās not quite enough to make it valuable to have that second player, youād have more laser uptime if you put each in their own reclaimer on their own mission. Laser uptime is everything currently for salvage
Now⦠if they added back valuable cargo on to ships from ship combat missions, using their cargo size tiers so smaller targets had smaller but more valuable cargo, and larger ships had bigger but less valuable but still overall 20% better value, suddenly thereās a reason to have a security team and a cargo team when you go salvaging
Cargo would make salvaging a lot more interesting too, aside from being profitable. Put a few things in the lockers, add cargo, sprinkle in some corpses.
You can save time with the Reclaimer by cheesing the unloading. Just dump out the rear chute till done then store ship the crates should show up in your FE view.
Salvaging is a quest, it's not about money. You roam into the deep black searching for some prey, and here you are facing it. The magnificent of a fallen space giant in front of you. The beautiful death and you're gonna to git it a new life a new purpose.... Before that you are trying to explain why this situation, Wich event happened. You become a kind of inspector looking for clues...
Such a good thing with engineering it's that you see the failures logs into the terminal and you have the piece of the wreck history...
So salvaging isn't not a job it's a life style
Do asteroids somehow scale with the ship you're in? I tried Mole mining today and all of the asteroids I came across were significantly larger than the ones I find when using a Prospector.
Was it just funky coincidence or is it an actual feature?
As far as I know that is not a thing.
So with item recovery will we not be able to salvage components from wrecks?
A good coincidence
D: No thanks
@next idolyes but only that part of cargo wchich is on grid, people usually load 3 times more off grid otherwise its not profitable at all.
Can you split the job up among multiple refineries? Might be a bit too late now.
Bruh. Bruh
That wouldn't even finish processing before 4.6 goes live (if the estimate is correct)
I did one for the same yield, 40 hours
āVery low speedā 40 hours
āLow speedā 245 hours
I really want to get back into SC but salvaging its in such a bad position rn
that is weir dbecause it seems they wanna push salvage updates
next week (monday or day after) the 4.6 update will drop, we are praying to get a fix on the salvaging prices
Fix is in the notes, anyone see what the values are now?
Would the Asgard be decent to start hauling with?
its not the worst but its a little price for a "starter" hauler.
do we have numbers on the rmc/salavage price changes from the latest ptu yet?
Is there much difference between the vulture and the fortune for salvage?
to me not really,
like you can almost get the same amount of boxes with some off-grid (39 in vulture vs 34 in fortune) in each, imo just slap abrades on either and pick whichever you think you'd enjoy more, fortune is slightly cheaper at like 1.2 or 1.3 mil i believe and vulture is 2.6 mil
for a second i was questioning myself
did the math and was wondering how tf i managed 36 in a fortune but then remembered buffer exists
would you guys recommend hauling, mining or salvage to branch out into? I'm working with an avenger titan currently
With a Titan, neither.
Just do which ever you like the most.
You can rent a ship for each of those careers, so just try and see.
Hauling and mining you can rent a ship for.
Salvage you need to buy one.
I am pretty sure you can rent a Vulture in Levski, no?
Indeed yes.
to be fair, I wasnt sure, I just vaguely remember that there was a rentable salvage ship somewhere XD
With all the talk about crafting I wanted to ask, Is resource quality currently in live? Can I go out and find 900+ quality Aluminum or Gold, refine it and store it for when crafting comes out?
Nope. It gets removed when there is a patch
Commmodities don't get saved when a patch happens. Also, crafting has only been on a Tech Preview for Evocati, it's not coming for a bit. (Maybe spring or summer?)
do we know what the sell price increase is on the ptu for salvage yet?
Price Adjustment for RMC/Salvage and Refine time Compensation. Removal Of Empty Cannisters, Adustment to Decari Pod Pricing.
Unless the price is absurdly high I donāt think it will fix the issue
According to a redditor it is now:
15K for CMAT (4.5 price 10.7K)
6K for RMC (4.5 price 5K)
at Lorville TDD
Its weird that they recognised the issue on IC with the refining months ago and it is still not fixed. Perhaps it was miscommunication within CIG and it was always meant to be this poor?
Actually I might be mis-remembering that they recognised the issue as I can't find it, nor can I even find an IC about it. I might be going mad.
Are the refining rates supposed to be higher or did I make it up?
at least for mining they reduced ratios so that it didnt create a transportation bottleneck, but the price was supposed to be raised to offset that.
Has anyone seen Junior rank for Ling hauling contracts? I havent seen them, just rookie contracts. my rank is going up (in junior) but no matter what system i go to, i cant find junior rank
Iām curious about ship salvaging I have the cutlass black and ideally want to use that ship can I find wrecks and use the rifle srt and make decent money or is it just so much worse then the vulture
i never saw an official post from CIG saying it was reversed, but it was popular sentiment that the numbers were flipped
so if anything, it was a rumour, if there's substantial information about it somewhere I haven't seen it
You can't make any money doing hand salvage, hand salvage is only useful for repairing things like components/weapons/doors on your own ship while you're out in the field
Last time I tried hand salvage, I made about 1000 credits for 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours of work
Anyone with experience in the MOLE can offer some advice? I'm losing my mind trying to detach the Ore Bags in EVA
I've unlocked ports, put landing gear up/down, turned off engiens, cycled power...
It just won't let me pull them off
Anyone?
sigh, I thought hauling was going to be a peacefull life, I was wrong, what relaxing proffesions are there that I can get in to?
Cave hand mining :D
*that makes decent money
but I tried out pyro with my nomad
probably gonna either try out renting a raft and going about my life in stanton or try out salvage, which would you say?
is it worth it renting a salvage ship?
Sure, try both. I'm pretty sure you can rent a vulture, which is my preferred salvage ship. Do the unverified salvage missions in Stanton that pays you to salvage
Is there much difference between the vulture or the fortune?
I've never used the fortune because I hate MISC ships, so I couldn't say from firsthand experience. I have heard people say that the Fortune is better for fracturing and the Vulture is better for scraping but I couldn't tell you why
I feel like a failed banker𤣠š¤£
Tried to risk it and make it big in Pyro and it didn't really work out!!
yeah I avoid pyro for anything that involves going to a settlement, so I only go there for caves & mining
If you want a chill experience, rent a Raft and haul in Stanton. If you want big risk, big reward, trade commodities in Pyro.
Salvage has nerfed profits, but it's very chill. Mining is more profitable, but given that there should be a patch dropping in a couple days, I'd avoid anything that involves setting up refinery jobs and waiting to collect them.
yeah I think I'll just go to chill raft hauling in stanton
and oml I can't wait till they add the night vision to cockpits
yeah, it'll help so much. Can't wait for it to be available for all ships
and hopefully there's going to be some kind of colorblind mode or some other feature to adjust the color
Also with the new extra space on the RAFT how much and what boxes can it hold?
6x 32SCU containers, 192 total. The grid is very versatile, 8x12x2 (so it can also easily hold 8x 24SCU, which is very handy, since outpost elevators can only deal with 24SCU max, and they can deliver up to 4 at one time)
no 64 SCU containers though?
32 is the max container size in game (2x2x8)
And if you want a baby more agile version you have the Golem OX
I believe you can only pull the bags off with the maxlift for some reason. You can use the multi tool to move them around but not pull them off. Were you using the multitool?
it was on the issue council but its a bit hard to find for some reason\
Was it confirmed?
thatās interesting. But that doesnāt confirm whether the patch or the game is wrong
yeah, they didint say anything about it but its also weird that they just dont come up sayig what is happening
Could very well be they never updated the patch notes
Yeah thatās kinda what I meant by complete silence form CIG
nothing official has talked about it
they keep upgrading the prices only but not the %
idk if in this patch the price makes it worth it
makes me wonder if theyāre planning on āfixing itā with the new missions
I think they dont have any idea what they are doing as it seems there is not a clear patch of what to do
True - hanlonās razor
there must be a reason why they just dont change the excel file with the %
xd
becuase it really feels like this game loop it waaay behind th eother ones
itās also possible that itās tied to another system and changing the numbers fucked the other codes
Nah max. Figured it out. Shields were the issue.
you never know with game design sometimes
the hopium in me wants to think theyāre planning on redoing the whole loop
they launched the new salvage ship with the weird % and also they keep updating salvage loop but thye dont say anything about the %
idk what is happening
maybe they are just that incompetent at communicating
or the guy whoās in charge of salvage is too stubborn to admit they fucked up
or they have no idea how to fix it and donāt want to seem incompetent lmao
or the guy of charge of salvage itgs already long gone and thye put the janitor in charge
thatās another thing - if itās a legacy code issue like that theyāre kinda boned
i can imagine its like looking at the pyramid hieroglyphs
I cant find any rocks in space, only 2k signatures. Theres no asteroids anymore?
Is there really no cargo ship thats fits 300-500 cargo short of the hull-c, caterpillar, or c2?
Not yet. Soonā¢
Just going to be hull-b? or something else coming?
Probably eventually, but more haulers isn't what this game needs
Maybe it be 15% yield because they will reset the economy and 100k AUEC will become something. I mean you can buy a big ship for 50M if you can make it in 3 or 4 run you are losing a bit of interest
Salvage AUEC are nothing against Fighting mission rewards or other over priced loot stuff
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
Should I look at replacing my vulture with a reclaimer? I mostly run solo but have a crew of 3 I can use on occasion and also have a salvation for small solo stuff
Feels like it will need its own thread.
Vulture isn't really that expensive, no reason you can't just buy it ingame
Do you get bigger ships under salvage contracts with the reclaimer?
No.
If i store my ship with a bunch of cargo attatched to the grid, does it auto store the cargo in my hold?
The cargo will remain on your ship, if it's something the station buys and has demand for then you can sell it and have them unload it for you by paying a small fee
gotcha, thanks for the tip!
Be warned. It can go MIA.
Conservation of items through storing and retrieving has always been very reliable
There has been a somewhat common bug recently enough, with cargo disappearing from ships, but storing and retrieving again fixes it. Cargo isn't actually gone, it's just not showing.
So how do you get the hammerhead contracts
Once you've completed the small and medium ones, the large contracts are unlocked. They did a rebalance recently, I'm not sure if HH is in the pool anymore though.
There's also unverified contracts including the cleanup missions
I have lost commodities a few times in my c2 when store to then try and trade. Maybe these are two separate concerns/issues? I agree, persistence of weapon racks etc have been good. But Iām not commodity trading any more from storing lol
And maybe this is the trick. Iāll give it a go.
I gave up after a few runs. Iāll try up/downing a few times till it shows on commodity vendor lol
so if a ship doesnt say an owner after scan, is it abandoned, or is it just if it says gamerules
I never saw a ship that said gamerules but I guess if it doesnāt say name itās abandoned
Hey, i just bought the Argo MOLE ingame, and was quite trilled to take it out and try my luck on some larger rocks. Works quite well with the S2 mininghead. But i noticed that the ship kinda feels out of date regarding engineering and components? Is there any rumour about the ship being worked on for upgrades related to that? Also, will there be like solo size 2 miners in the future? And do the stacked mining bags work somehow? Like, if i detach the mining bags, can i deploy new ones? It says it should carry 24 bags, where 8 are deployed at the same time.
In a recent CIG video they teased a new ship that looks like a variant of the MOLE, most likley for salvage. The MOLE will likely get updated once the new variant comes out, but idk when that'll happen
I have a question about cargo. I basically have an Idris full of stims and gold. I went to NB and they won't accept max amounts. Is there a work around or somewhere that will?
go to uex and check how much capacity each location has. Places can only store so much stock of each commodity
Ok ty!
Allright, cool. Thanks! š
Sc trade tools shows the cities are a good place for both, except NB š
I play Salvage Citizen everyday, don't ask to give a chance to salvage, ask salvage to give you a chance š
I saw that! Thanks for the heads up! Weird that NB keeps such low inventory
hopefuly this is correct location, but anyways: where can i find Decari Pod?
Where can I rent a drake vulture?
Levsky.
so i was trying to salvage this retaliator gunship, is there a way to board it? i found an elevator i could shoot open but then it doesnt go back up and i cant seem to catapult myself in
When you destroy the elevator and it goes down, climb on it and repair it, it will go up
ohhh thank you
Are there any rumours about the Hermes which indicate it will be anything other than another rear hatch ~200 SCU hauler like the Zeus cl, Asgard, max etc?
i need someone to salvage with me idk if this is the right channel to ask
Try #looking-for-session instead
Theres also an airlock on one side. Can you pop that?
No one knows the numbers, but that would be an odd fit because its like 4x larger in volume over even the asgard.
didnt have anyh luck with that
Ah ok, so maybe plugging a gap below the C2
thye really need to get better at hauling ships
it feels liek is design firtsa nd then utility
mainly the doors for the cargo
it should be easy to take in and out boxes from the ship
I mean, this is very much a thing in real life too. Its why container ships were such a huge revolution in the shipping industry. Prior to that you had a large workforce dedicated to loading/unloading cargo. Now its like 2-3 guys on a huge crane.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Containerization#Effects
Containerization is a system of intermodal freight transport using intermodal containers (also called shipping containers, or ISO containers). Containerization, also referred as container stuffing or container loading, is the process of unitization of cargoes in exports. Containerization is the predominant form of unitization of export cargoes t...
this is why the raft is the best cargo ship.
yeah it is
So i haven't done much mining since the new update. I noticed that the refined ore is greatly reduced
Did they increase the value of things?
yes
Whats best for solo mining? Golem, Prospector, or Mole?
Any of those will work. The Mole can handle larger rocks then the others, with a proper setup, and can also be a bit more versatile, so it's my main choice. But I do also have a Golem, and in fact my Mole isn't a pledge ship, while the Golem is. (So after a wipe, I'll partly be using the Golem to make money to get back ships like my Mole. Unless I have an Arrastra by then.)
Downside, using the Mole means seat hopping a lot.
One thing that the Golem can do, is fit in a C2. So, you could carry a Golem and a bunch of spare bags, and do a bunch of mining without going back to base. Doing the same with a Mole would require a pilot for the cargo ship carrying the extra bags.
Note that there may be a patch as soon as Wednesday, and if and when it happens, it will wipe out refinery jobs in progress.
im kind of split on that. I have nowhere enough money in game for a c2 yet, and my playing circumstances mean being able to bed log is a strong point
thats part of the reason I like the mole too, as it can carry more than one set of bags worth of ore in one go, right?
or am I misunderstanding how those spare bags work?
CAN WE BUILD OUR OWN BASE?
Not yet
The Mole technically carries 3 sets of bags. But you can't use the other two sets yet.
ah
And you'd need to offload a set of bags somewhere to use another set
Which means you'd want a friend
Arrastra will be a game changer, because it is a mining ship with onboard refining.
Orion too, though that I think is going to be much bigger.
id expect orion to be in the 30million + range like the reclaimer
I def want a miner to prep for crafting, but im also tempted to save up auec for the new salvager
Three sets of bags? Never knew that. Is that like like two more sets deflated bags which are in place when the full ones are detached?
Above each active bag, there are two more in a collapsed state. Haven't tested lately, but on a previous patch I found out you could remove them and attach them in place of the expanded bag, but the ship's listed capacity goes down. I think at one time collapsed bags were, possibly by accident, buyable on PTU as well.
I think the Prospector is supposed to have the same feature, but I'm not sure if it has the bags yet. The Mole bags I think were added a while back. (After 3.2 I think, but maybe before 4.0 Not entirely sure when.)
Around 4.2 ish you could attach regular bags in place of the collapsed bags and get at 192scu capacity mole. Mined a lot of tin that way for supply or die
I'd forgotten about that, I did not use that little exploit
Decided to take a pic of the bags since we were talking about them. You can't remove them right now, but you can see the little white "feet" on the bottom of the two bags on the left and on the bottom of the active bag on the right.
Hermes info leaked, and its seems a little underwhelming. CIG seams really reluctant to release a real mid-capacity hauler.
How much was the scu capacity?
288, but they gave it a tiny door to prevent it loading a nursa
cargo grid/bay is also split into 2
tractor on rail also doesnt go the whole way out of ship
grid is also 3 scu high
Why they keep doing. That omg
They never saw a irl truck before o r what?
I think people have decided that they have nerfed the loading capabilities on ships like the zeus cl and now the hermes to prevent people from parking an ursa medevac on board. Since a hermes/zeus/etc with a nursa on board basically obviate the need for medical ships like the apollo or the cutty red.
They should just change how that vehicle operates es use its dumb to have your whole ships lineup being influenced in a negative way just because of a ground vehicle that is not even being used correctly
You can fit almost 300 scu inside (if you're a masochist) and not fitting a nursa makes it ridiculous
I love the look of the chassis but neither version (medical or cargo) justifies owning one rn for me
The only real issue the mole has is in a location with weather, you need a pilot to keep the laser heads in an optimal range. But you can sidestep that by doing asteroid mining
Iāll instead just be running a prospector
I donāt really care for asteroid mining, I want clusters of rocks
there is always mining on airless or almost airless moons for that
I kind of want them to do a refresh on the mole before I get one. From the various video reviews its interior looks needlessly complicated and roughly done.
There arenāt many wind-less moons in Stanton afaik
Cellin? But every time Iāve gone there every other rock cluster has cracked rocks it feels like
Eh, guess thereās 4
Yela celin lyra and wala
So thereās stuff for me to do in the mole in Stanton
im going to try Solo Mole mining after about 3 months, can some one suggest a load out please?
Helix up front, hofstead and impact on the back is my setup
Helix usually starts out with 2 reiger and a focus, then the first big rock I hit that needs surges I end up with 3 surges for the rest of the night
cool, many thanks
Doesnāt matter too much what the impact and hofstead has on it, theyāre for smaller rocks after the first break
Usually run at least one focus on each, with reigers
I also tend to not touch small rocks, unless Iām topping off the bags after mining a big rock
Moving the ship around eats a lot of time
k, ty again
Question about SC trade tools, if I do a trade route, the green uec value is that the profit per leg or the price you sell for?
green in middle is profit per leg, sell/buy prices are to either side
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1qow4t5/let_me_introduce_you_to_galaxy_with_its_cargo/
this one is funny
is there a go to cheap starter hauler?
The mole is around 3 mil and can be rented. It hold 192 SCU and is very easy to load
Hull A is also around 2 mil and holds 64 SCU and is also very easy to load
mkay
thanks
am i looking at the wrong ship cause the wiki is telling me 8mil for the mole? outdated?
Raft is the hauler, Mole is a miner
Raft is best in class, especially buying in game, because it got a capacity boost but it's price hasn't gone up.
what would you say the timeline for ROI would be with the raft? I can afford it but its basically my entire bank
i'd say it depends on how you use it
I really couldn't say, I get a lot of my money from mining and salvage, and don't try to track aUEC by hour. By trip/job it varies a lot.
mmm
i either wanna get a hualing ship or save two mill for a fmc hornet II
but geting the hauler first will probably be better in the long run for my wallet
There are multiple ways you can go with hauling. Covalex is Stanton based, but low rank missions tend to be 50-90k each. Redwind has higher paying missions, but you have to go into Pyro to do some of them.
You can stack multiple missions though, just means more boxes to load and unload.
is there a way to pick up more than one box at a time?
Multiple people
fair lol
The RAFT is only 3m and best cargo ship of its size
yeah i think im convinced
ive been doing mostly FPS and space combat i wanna mix it up
Haulers are also useful for mining and salvage gameplay. For mining, you haul the refined ores to market. For salvage missions, you can offload cargo (from ships that have it) and potentially components from some ships before starting salvage.
Just to chip in, stacking and chaining missions is definitely the way. If you enjoy that aspect of the logistics you can really optimise routes and drop offs / loads. You just have to be really careful to keep different mission boxes separate
Itās probably my favourite loop in the game, but it takes a spreadsheet and an ATLS!
try interstellar hauling, its... interesting and well paid.
on the un-verified side, the Dead Saints.
Obligatory: Raft is King
Also going to point out that a hauler is good for salvaging too, as otherwise you are running to maket for every ship load which is probably not really needful.
I've always preferred the asgard to the raft
My question is should I CCU my shic to a hermes, seems like a good in and out ship but does the extra 42 m/s make it worth not just running the asgard
Haven't seen it myself yet, but the Hermes door/ramp seems a bit small. Especially compared to the Asgard
Yeh this. I think its got the same ramp as the Zeus MK2. I don't personally see it as a huge reason not to buy it though, If you currently have a Zeus MK2 CL I think the Hermes is literally the perfect upgrade, I think the turret can also be controlled by the pilot (from what I've seen on a video)
meh, i would stay with Asgard, far easier to load/unload, had yet seen the Hermes's tiny door?
So can we no longer scavange components
Accident on the phone
Hmm Hermes sits in a really nice space at 288scu. And is a surprisingly nice ship considering what a mess the Apollo was
Do we have any miners in the house?
Sorry, what I meant was are there any mining corporations out there?
Id love to find one too. especially if they were west coast. But I have a differetn question. How do you start the enw mining and salvage missions?
Are they only in Pyro?
Anyone?
???
If you mean this...
@limpid sluice Dude, I'm kinda new and have seen so much conflicting information on this, I'm just trying to get clarification.
I literally just posted the note saying it's in a 4.6.x patch
And I simply asked a clarifying question to which you posted a snark ass picture. My guy, not sure what bs is going on in your life to make you an auto-prick, but maybe go kick a puppy or something?
Or just read things?
oR jUsT rEaD tHiNgS.
See, that's why that sticker exists lol

I got blessed with a bunch of processed food that seems to be too big to call from my elevator and I can't sell it at A18, do I need to rent a bigger ship so I can get a bigger hangar to get rid of it?
you can divide it sending it more times
but yeah, bigger hangar bigger the elevator
wait divide it by doing what now
oh sorry I mean call the elevator multiple times
It doesn't even show in the elevator terminal
hmm the tdd terminal is giving me internal error but only when I try to sell medical supplies
nm the food is showing up maybe I'm high
How does calling the elevator multiple time split commodity cargo
If the cargo is too big for the elevator not because of container size but because of stack size, right click it in the freight elevator and you can split the stack.
I might not be able to get rid of these they're a bunch of giant 32scu containers of processed food and they make my taurus glitch through the hangar and it won't let me stack them on top of each other
Taurus can't carry multiple 32 SCU containers stacked on top of each other
At least properly
wtf it can stack other boxes like 3 high same height box
When it comes to the cargo grid, Taurus can handle 2 32 SCU boxes
wack
The cargo grid is 3 SCU high
should I rent a raft or what
Raft's got a better cargo grid
Raft's grid is designed around 32 SCU boxes, just one layer, but you can use the full 192 SCU
didn't it just go way up in price
o sweet
Raft is best in class, and only 3.4 mil at Lorville
for what it gives its not expensive in game
easy the only ship really well done for hauling
Is there anything with even bigger cargo that's rentable? Idk how many of the 32scus I have it's like mutliple pages in my inv
is it really worth the paint to dop all that? haha
also depending how you got them they might count as stolen anyways so you need to sell it only at specific palces
Actually I think it might all fit on a raft
its amazing how this game evey time after an update it fucks my acocunt and i need to reset character
im getting the time out message
ok so it's srsly like 75 32scu containers of processed food
uex says 1542, I guess that means for 1scu? So I might have 3.7 mil worth of food that popped into my inv with this patch?
I already sold another 6.75mil worth of a bunch of other random commodities and this is the last batch, they're just too big
Maybe someone with a hull c can give it to you?
I'm considering buying a raft since that's more than what they're worth I'm just making sure I did the math right
getting rid of these will pay for it but idk how many 32's a raft can hold and how many trips it'll take
like 13 trips haha oof
how hard is the cargo stuff for the current event ? i have the conny taurus and i have never done cargoe before
hermes has got 3 scu high grid right?
2 grids that are 2 high, 4 wide, 18 long
Nope, perfectly sized for 8 SCU boxes.
Nice
Tool for visualizing, comparing, and managing cargo grids for Star Citizen.
Saw the evenlease review of the hermes, so I guess I have to change my opinion lol
That site apparently is where our fit charts came from
It seems to me, from the video I saw, that they widened the rear entry area
Yes they did
Either that or the video just didn't depict it well. Still won't fit a Nursa though.
It fits up to cyclone size vehicles
With the wheels on
That ship can hold a fair amount of cargo it should work okay.
I heard a bird sing about cig widening the rear entry on the Hermes? Is that true?
And if yes. Can I put a nursa in the back of it yet
Y'all are so obsessed with that one vehicle in your cargo ship. What are you doing on cargo runs that a med Ursa is required?
Medbay
And free food and drink
But I'm agree that's seems a little strange for a hauler
I put one into my reclaimer but salvaging is some time dangerous when people are still in the wreck
thanks is the small pyro multi tool with the the attachment that lets me move stuff around good enough or do i need the bigger rifle sized version of that iyo for moving cargo on my connie taurus
That's the point I'm making. Hauling you always have very easy access to medical, food, and water, and you cant really use the free cause you earn so much more money than those expenses will cost. For the use purpose designed for it, it blows my mind the number of people upset / generally dissing on it for the one very specific restriction of not having room for a medical Ursa. Bunker running, salvage, high end PvE like PAF, AaM, QV, ASD I can see the argument? But cargo really doesn't need it in my experience.
But I wasn't sure if I'm missing one niche catch all where a medical bay in a cargo hauler has legit gains from it. Cause the only scenario I could think of is crashing for respawn, but I was pretty sure the Ursa would break too.
That the point if you are going to be hurt in hauling, your ship will blow before you
And you loose what is important with a hauler -> cargo space for nothing
Maybe people saw it like mini C2 or Clad
Idk
Yeah, and if you're legitimately doing any content where I would say an medursa is a legit benefit, probably also doing content where the Hermes is not an ideal ship to bring.
yoo what is the best location for mining with a MISC Prospector?
What I do is wear medium armor and backpack minimum and get Maxlift rifle asap and I carry the handheld one in the backpack.
I mean, ships don't really have dedicated best locations; the question to ask is "what am I trying to mine?" And then find where to mine that.
ahh ok then ill ask that
Cellin and Wala have Quantanium it's the highest payout especially on the Grey market.
is the Carrack more useful for hauling than a StarMax?
actually maybe I'll wait for salvage mole and make the StarMax into that instead of jumping to Galaxy.
nvm
do the hauling missions for the events eventually get bigger? is it like the more small I do I work my way up to bigger contracts?
someone shared a 288scu alliance aid mission in chat a few minutes ago
This sounds very suspiciously like a Hermes quest specifically lmao
sorry it was 292, the person was complaining that it was MORE Than their Hermes
but you can just stuff hte hallway...
is there a light switch for these big ole blinders in the hermes?
Imo, the best role for a prospector to fill for a solo miner is mining places where the mole doesnāt work as well solo, such as planets/moons with weather
Calliope is my go to, because itās near microtech which is near mic-L2
Cellin is the most popular, but⦠every time I go there I run into already broken rocks so I tend to avoid it
bet thanks for the info i appreaciate it alot
man hauling in the hermes was such a breeze compared to the Zeus
The golem fits in the Asgard with 10 extra bags!
yo can anyone get mining contracts?
ive done the introduction one yesterday, and since i have only gotten a single hand mining contract available once, all morning not a single mining contract has appeared for me
I'm 99% sure they aren't in this patch, but are coming when the salvage mole releases
As someone who has done very little mining, where should I go to get Laranite and Ice for Alliance Aid missions ?
I would do bexalite/laranite and Borase Iām finding a decent amount of all 3 on wala
Thank you. I will check out Wala.. can I do it using a mole or should I use a smaller ship if I'm solo ?
Iām using my golem with extra bags in my c2 the rocks are not too big
You can use the mole if you want more room for ore
Thank you.
Np
And only do the small contract for maximum points you only need 50 scu to get the the final contract doing the 3SCU contract
Is there a way to combine complete work orders? Or does it just scrap whatever extra that can't make a full SCU?
I think it actually rounds up as a courtesy
I havent actually paid attention to it, but i think it rounds up to the next one scu
Cause there were orders I did where it should have been like 30.2 and I swear I walked away with 31
It always rounds up.
Can you partial turn in delivery contracts for the event?

How do I get auto deliver to the HULL C?
Did you have to manually unload those to Levski?
how did you pick that up in the first place i'm not understanding
no other way around atm
gotta take it all to port tress
I*m at my pick up spot in Stanton with my Hull C how do I load it?
YEs
the pickup is at levski in nyx for this
my is pickup at Stanton to Levski
and this place dont have a auto loader like port tress does
How do I get the cargo?
if your tracking the quest you should beable to focus on the pickup loaction via the quest drop down once you zoom out to secter view from ship mapping
in the map
I have never used the HUll C before how do I load the cargo onto it in Stanton since they do not have space freight lifts?
if not read the quest details for the pickup point
idk where/what kind of place santon is offhand swore that was a planet name
oh thats the system
show me your quest
when your near it. does it have a cargo comms channel in the comms tab on ship panels?
oh that is the peice of info I needed
if so use that and get a cargo loader point then it will auto load it for you
Oh shit they do have space freight lifts
how do you collect from a planet with the hull C do they give you a blue box?
heheh
hull c
How? it can't land when the cargo plats are deployed
a ship to board it with and it left in vtol in hanger with spindles out
So you jump out with out dying lol
death or no death you should still spawn in the location med
unless you somehow manage a full death rather then nocked
I was able to auto unload at levski
damm i must not have been in the right spot
my ship is stuck in the hanger rn cuz it stored it for being left in the cargopoint unmanned to long
i dont like useing the tracter beams
like my maxlift more
feels like shipbreakers
Is it just me of have they done something to tractor beams and generally cargo handling, it seems more erratic (not just performance) and scrolling seems really slow or moves in burst/like rubber banding
I'm guessing all the Borase/Bexalite/Laranite has already been strip-mined off the servers since it doesn't appear -anywhere-
Have you checked the halo?
I could try the Aaron Belt next time aye, not a bad idea
are the new salvage missions in the game yet?
they are in the patch but not enabled yet i think
i see
One of my mate have done the first Adagio contract
But no more appears next
I search for it yesterday but I didn't find it neither Nyx or Pyro
(I didnāt look into Stanton because of the wrongful conviction Iām a victim of in that system.)
loading 4SCU boxes to Titan is a pain
Interesting
Well that would be because I think by design you're not supposed to? Pretty sure titan officially classified as max size 2scu
So while you might be able to make it fit, its not designed.
it's a 4x2 space, so why wouldn't it take a 2x2 box
For the same reason a clipper isn't designed for a 4
Just because the grid fits it doesn't mean the ship is designed for it functionally.
Cant even fit a s4 SCU box up a clipper ramp, into a 3x2x2 grid
the biggest problem is that the ship starts bouncing around like crazy. if it stayed still, it would be a lot easier
Certain ships just aren't functionally designed for certain crate sizes. Its entirely intentional. You might be able to fit it, but if its not designed for it you're gonna have a bad time.
taking them out was easy though
hope the reclaimer rework bring a new paint, idk how they managed to do such ugly paints for the ship
The RS signature is messed up for ship mineable rocks you canāt identify gems from rocks and the different rock types by the RS anymore
I have a hard time keeping up with the long-term plans of the game, but could someone tell me if the goal is for us to ALWAYS have to manually load cargo in the future, or if we will be able to pay for automatic cargo loading?
For example if I just wanted to haul some cargo on my own, and I'm in a BMM or Ironclad or whatever, would I be able to pay extra for it to be auto loaded for me instead of me doing it for a few hours
manually loading cargo is fun, they said,
manually loading cargo is realistic, they said.
physicalized stuff is fun, they said.
You should always be able to have your stuff automatically loaded for all ships you can store.
For a fee of course, as it is already right now.
Just the rework would be a huge progress, don't know if we gonna see it one day
But the actual paint are awful you right
Where should I set my home location for 4.6? If I'm planning on hauling for the event?
Not Pyro I guess.
Probably Levski, Babbage, or Area 18 in order of relevance to the event. Babbage would be primary for Stanton from what I've seen so far.
set your home location anywhere you want, then go to Babbage and set it as your Spawn location, easy
remeber that after the event you wont be able to change your default location until the next big patch
Is there away to call for a hanger over a docking station for the Hull C?
Just trying to get into mining. After I mine I go to a refinery and I can choose to sell the raw material or have it refined further which makes me in some instances wait quite awhile
As a beginner should I just sell raw material first?
Is it worthwhile to wait for example 20+ hours in some instances?
Why would you go through all the work to just sell the unrefined ore?
idk I just bought into the game yesterday
so if I refine the material should I sell it right then and there or do I have to haul it to another location?
First off welcome to the game! In some instances you can see the ore at the same station.
The only time I sell unrefined ore is when there is leftover junk in the ore pods...Titanium or inert materials etc
Are the new mining missions rare ? And are they only in stanton ?
does any one know if you can turn in boxes for a mission that might be floating in space or is each pick up tagged to that mission only?
The aid missions?
No the new mining missions from shubin
got one yesterday, and didn't get any today
I ran a few earlier to lorville and babbage...delivered ore
I thought they were the same
Okay cuz im in pyro and i'm not having them, i only got 1 yesterday and that's it
sadge
THis game just sucks at times the auto unloader won't work just keep saying not to move and the ship isn't
hull C is the most broken and bugged ship in the game, CIG hasnt shown any intention to fix it,.
omg and it despawned never again
How are we to even do these events when the game is bugged. Nothing works right. ends up being a waste of anyone's time
Actually the Hull C's auto loading/unloading functionality actually got some improvements, though not entirely sure when.
tell that to @regal tide xD he may disagree with your statement
Can do better then tell, here it is in action:

ive got a question, im mining laranite for the event mission, but they will probably turn into larger scu crates, is there a way to make the station turn the refining order into 1, 2 or 4 scu crates? and if i cant will the "deliver 4scu of laranite" consume an entire 16 scu crate per contract?
If you put more Laranite on the elevator then is needed for the mission, the extra will get put into smaller boxes and stored in the warehouse.
thanks
Something that I did earlier today was do a 4 SCU job with an 8 SCU box, then raise the 4 SCU box I got as change, re-took the mission, and sent the elevator back down again. š
Im glad they have it setup this way
Supply or Die worked the same way
i dont really do cargo events, but the crafting machine must be mine
The mining is a cakewalk
They'll probably be available in other ways, but this one will be branded
it will be account linked right?
The other rewards have been (aka show up in My Hangar on the website) so it should be, and thus wipe proof
more then enough reason to get it
It obviously won't actually be distributed until crafting goes in though
hopefully in march when the events over, who knows could be longer though
what i want to see is if the crafting missions will actually be worth it
If I can make myself stuff like the S71, that you can't just go and buy, then that would be pretty cool
i want rarer blueprints for ship components and weapons, honestly hate going to contested zones, even if they are cool but yknow, solo player
Technically there has actually been a very simple form of crafting for quite a while though. Salvage ships can craft some salvage related items, including the multi-tool and attachments.
everythn is nerfed
oh fuck off seriously???
these were all 30+ scu holds
you get maybe 1/2
half.
so mining which already isnt that good just had its profits slashed in half
did they adjust commodity prices aswell?
by how much?
okay i remember quant being like 20-25k and uex says its now 85k
yeah plus you can get more on the private market for quant
there is a market for it now?
i remember trying to sell quant a wipe or so ago and not a single buyer, mabye its time to go back
I sold some quant earlier, got over 500k.
They reduced the yield and boosted prices, in order to make smaller cargo ships more viable.
Need a crewed Mole at the least, or multiple ships
yeah im doing aid mining so im not even bothering
I was doing some mining too, but having found a Quant rock I could mine, I did. I also cracked a 237 SCU rock with Borase. (29k or so mass) Had to use my Helix II + Reiger C3 x3 laser for the first time.
Got 87 SCU of raw Borase to refine. Down into like 30 something SCU.
still a good amount
Be fine for selling, (since prices went up) but not as great for the event.
Though I could just do small jobs
yeah just keep repeating them
Yeah, I did that with 12 SCU of Larinite. One other potential issue though, is that some things (Bexalite) mean going to NB. And NB is likely to be buggy as heck on every shard for a while.
it's just hanging there? improvements?
Not sure what you're talking about, and I'm not saying there aren't bugs, but the system can now access buried cargo by removing cargo as needed to get to the buried cargo and then, at the end, re-loading all the removed cargo.
I would love to see that doesn't do that for me. It sounds amazing on paper for sure
In the video I linked above, you can see it happen
how do I get it to work?
I have a full load in the Hull C i'm at Levski and it's not unloading
Try getting out of your seat and getting back in
did that
Don't fly a Hull C myself, so I don't know all the bug workarounds, but that particular one I have seen. Oh, and not sure about 4.6, but in 4.5 commodity trading automatic unloading was broken. For that you had to manually unload.
Captain Deadwake (on Youtube) is the Hull C guy
I'm just sitting here waiting for it to unload doesn't do anything
OMG thank god I tried it 4 times and it finally is unloading
if I were to guess those blue boxes can't have anything else in them the ones I was going into had cargo boxes just floating in space
i have a connie taurus, any tips on my first cargo run which also happens to be the event cargo missions?
i got the pisto and rifle sized handheld tractor beams
should i just take one mission at a time or bundle a few
anyone trying to run some salavge with me
bundle them
ok thanks
So it's been a couple days, hermes yes or no if I have an asgard
i would go with Asgard 100%, so Hermes is pretty but nothing out of ordinary, cant fit big vehicles... therefore its a Nope.
am I a doofus or is SRV broken when towing in quantum?
Well the no big vehicle thing was deliberate marketing decision. If the hermes could fit a nursa everyone would just straight up melt their Apollos
Hi guys, I am new to mining and about to reach 1mil from renting out the prospector and astorid mining. Should I get a little more for the Drake Golem? or should I save up a lot more for the MISC Prospector
Generally what is the best industrial profession to make money with and how? e.g. Hauling- Commodity trading or Salvage
I would say hauling? Mainly because itās very straightforward
Would you say commodity trading or contracts?
Contracts. As I donāt think there is that much difference but contracts if anything happen you donāt lose the money (bugs mainly)
Would you reccomend stellar or planetary or interstellar?
Now we have divided so I donāt now too much the difference between them. I guess start the small planetary ones as you need to get reputation with the hailing company to get the better deals that you can do with bigger ships.
Just donāt get anything that your ship canāt handle in 1 trip
So do contracts become more lucrative the more rep you have bc atm commodity trading seems to be better?
The money is kinda bad I feel
In a full c2 my profits vs time are not that great
So guys what is the general opinion about the HermĆØs for solo hauling ?
Especially compared to the RAFT as with warbond there's only a 10$ difference between the 2
Itās pretty good
Because except the back door a little small I wonder if i should upgrade my RAFT for the Hermes
People have been able to fit a nursa in the hermes - you can't get out out again aside from claiming the hermes but if that changes your mind, loading cargo isn't too bad either.
Where can I sell ship parts at Lorville, if not Lorville where in general?
in general, you can sell a item on any store that sells items of such type,
- sell ship modules at any Ship Modules Store like Platinum Bay.
- sell FPS weapons and armors at any store who sells those.
well I upgraded my ship and wondering if I can sell the old components
Be aware that ingame stores will charge you, lets say 1m for a thing but will buy same thing for only a fraction of the value, like 10% or less, yeah, i know! CIG made it like that, idk why
Anyone having issues with refinery orders? Mine doest work at all
What would you recommend instead, salvage or mining?
looks like RMC and CMC prices are as lame as the last patch... stay running cargo.
gonna go find some bex
How do we automatically load cargo onto our ships? Is it only possible for commodity trading, and not for contracts where they want you to haul cargo?
contact atc cargo tower when in range of station
dont know if it works for ships other then the hull c
For trading, if the ship is stored, there's the option on the terminal you can select for it.
Don't ever select it if it isn't stored.
For hauling, only the Hull-C can have auto loading atm, and it will likely be going away rather than be generalised for other ships.
Anyone having issues starting refinery orders? Mine doesnt work
first time miner here what do you reccomend to put on the MOLE for laser and attatchments?
I have hoffstede, helix and impact. Module wise i have rieger c3 and focus. And some surges in backpack just in case i find a big rock. Gadgets i use sabir and boremax
But youll find your setup when you have some experience
How much does it cost ish?
Also whatās better for money making, contracts or commodity trading?
Atm, hauling. Trading isn't worth the risks for what it pays.
Friend of mine has been doing mining, profits seem fairly good
Hmmmm, for trading however how do I find which resources are best to sell?

anyone know where i can get a surge module. cstone isnt showing any shops with them
Levsky.
Is there anyplace to sell refined ore without going to a planet's surface?
Not Gallog.
Use the sites on the embed above.
How come for Adagio Holdings nothing comes up for rep?
Have anyone use a hull c on the event and does it work decently
Those missions arenāt out yet
Thereās not much reason to, the reward balance favors doing the smalllest mission possible
Unless maybe youāre transporting a large amount of pressurized ice to sell to players
what/where is the keybind option called to control the hermes tractor beam?
I'm thinking of getting a salvage ship, should I go for the fortune or the vulture?
Have you salvaged before? I'd recommend the Salvation if not so you can get a feel for the gameloop.
Other than that, there is a medium salvage we expect to come out in the upcoming months, so patience might serve you well. If you're purchasing w/ aUEC, I think either the Vulture or Fortune is fine, I prefer the Vulture for its speed and the Fortune for it accomodating my laziness
The default is "s"
of the two, i prefer the fortune
i don't like the vulture's dual head controls, fortune is just simple, and feels just like being in a prospector, same cockpit
also works in an idris a bit better
hey if anyone has high level rep missions for covolex wanting to share rep happy to pay back money im at member not sure how the thing for stopping juniors from doing experiences missions works yeah but that
Really the only place to buy surge module its levsky?

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh so I just put my cargo on an elevator, went to send it down and it all disappeared... anything I can do or is it just lost to the void bc I was just starting to get into the big bucks with crago hauling and if everythings gone I am back down to 1,000,000 aUEC.
try checking the other elevators, sometimes it visually fucks it up and you need to switch elevators, if it did fully disappear into the void tho i got plenty of pressurized ice for you to run the 548k (60scu) alliance aid transport missions and get your money back up
if you need the ice just ping me or something and if you can rent something that'll hold 2-4 32scu crates since i'm tryng to get rid of it now that i'm done the rewards
that also applies for anyone else looking for ice, rn i got a stockpile of 1,336 scu in 32 and 8 scu crates
idc if you pay or not i just want the ice gone now
I am grinding the event and can use some Ice...let me know how this can work out. -6 CST
i'm on atm if you want to swing by, sitting at tressler, in-game should be costco_150_hotdog
lemme see what that is in my time zone lol
Just need 20 minutes? To get there.
yep that works
Server full
Can I invite you?
in a party with someone else atm but if you're at tressler on my server look for the guy jumping around the asop terminals
I fly there for now...
@vestal ravine alright you can send a party invite if you want now
i'll be at the menu so joining off you
gaah max capacity
How nimble does the Zeus CL feel vs the Taurus? Most of my cargo hauling is from station to surface TDD to sell RMC/refined ores, so I'm wondering if the Zeus CL would be better than the Taurus.
it will do far better.
Nah I tried all that it was just gone for some reason
ah damn, well if you land at tressler lmk so i can add you can give ya some ice to do the 548k ice missions
I would but it's quite late for me now so probs not.
so
do i need to unbind everything "right alt + K" then eject cargo to eject cargo in the hull c?
or does it just not work
You can't eject cargo on the hull C, not as far as I know
The "eject cargo" keybind can only be used on mining ships with quantanium on-board. If the quant is about to explode you can eject it into space to save your ship
From what I know it used to but due to people ejecting cargo over cities like new Babbage or something and getting them stuck they removed the feature
hey im new to mining, im currently in a golem rn and I found this juicy rock. I know I am far out of my league with trying to do this on my own tho I have a...pretty wealthy friend getting on in attempts to help me crack this rock, though would we both have better luck if he were to bring a prospector or mole? modded or stock?
You need a mole with the helix
š
thank you king
also uh, how do you activate non-passive modules for mining...
asking for a friend

No problem happy to help
If I enjoy both mining and salvage would it be more profitable/enjoyable to rent a prospector or a vulture to get started? Is the rental prospector still "trash"? I'm just getting back into SC after a year or so.
we're both in the mole now, not helixes but 2 hofstede, we're still not even close to being able to mine it
Do you think getting the third mining laser going would help?
yea though I'm gonna switch out the heads for higher power first
If you are in Stanton and want a third person I'm game. I'm still getting used to all the new stuff but used to mine a lot.
Did you put 2 surge or stampedes on both heads ?
no idk what those are
I can't buy surge
Active modules
You can buy stamped in a few places
we have THREE helixes. Still impossible
and there's no optimal window
what the fuck
It must be bugged you definitely have enough power
Maybe get closer to the rock
isn't that too close to the min range?
optimal is 90
so shouldn't I be closer to optimal than min?
Itās 30 optimal for helix 90 max
Itās fine to go under optimal range to get a bit more power out of the laser
I had to touch the rock with the laser head today to get it to crack with my golem
dude waht the fuck
I have no idea that rock should crack with 4 lasers on it
Maybe bad desync
best place to mine ice? is it worth mining?
i got err60019 after my ship exploded, I got kicked for cracking the rock and it downed me and our 3rd buddy who was before doing allience aid stuff
curses
we got fucking scammed
Big quant rock really fight back sometimes
I have lost fights with quant many times
worth is up to your personal standards, nothing wrong with it IMO and it's used in the event
I "completed" a large cargo haul for the Mold event and the 2 totals didn't advance on the rewards chart. Is there a delay on that? I even re-logged. Of course I was cheating the system also. Only took one crate to turn in/submit. What happened?
Pretty sure the rewards are calculated the same as mission aEUC is. So if your cargo mission was 300 SCU and you took 1, you got 1 300th of the rep gains, so basically a single point towards the goal.
They don't function the same as the standard missions where you can cheese your way to more rep, as far as I know. The one time I turned in a mission early I had 12/14 SCU as the elevator deleted the last box, and I got most of the rewards still.
What's the best active mod build for prospector to break huge rocks solo?
I ran Helix 1 with Rieger 3 and Focus 3 but there were still some impossible asteroids
Helix with 2 surge will break up to 35k mass rocks with a sabir gadget
Is there a calculator anywhere where to theorycraft with different mining heads and mods and what they're able to do?
nvm I found it on Regolith... I think
Yeah regolith is great for where to mine and loadouts
Is there anywhere that shows what mass and resistance you can break with what laser power?
I put together this excel sheet a while back to do that. I don't know of any website that does exactly the same. #industrial-professions message

ok so, this month we wil get a patch with a new salvage ship? or it will be a release inside 4.6?
iirc it was one that uses the other type of salvage material
How does surge modules work as far as "uses"? Does it need repaired/recharged after uses deplete or is it just gone gone and the module needs fully replaced at a mining shop?
Okay thanks, I will run another mission and see what happens.
They said few weeks after 4.6 release, they removed adagio mission for rework it and pull it back with the medium salvager
Thanks for the info! Iām looking forward for the new ship
If you got other salvage related questions feel free to ask DM open if you need to
You can activate it for 15 seconds 7 times then it falls off you can put extra in you backpack and tractor them on or repair the ship
So repairing the ship at the station pays for the new module?
Yes
But if you have used it 6 times and you repair it wonāt replace it and you can only use it 1 more time but if it falls off repair will replace it
So use it completely and then do the repair, if going to unload at refinery.
Just to optimize the trip.
Yes or you can tractor them off when you land and repair to replace them
Gotcha. Well I might have to start using those on my prospector
I was running Reiger C3s which work okay but still an annoying amount of rocks labelled unbreakable.
Yeah 2 Reiger give 50% more power 2 surge doubles the power
But when it says impossible it isnāt usually accurate
You can break 20k rock with the 2 riegers and 32k with 2 surge and 35k if you add a sabir gadget
Oh well if that's the case I might keep the reigers, I don't typically find rocks bigger than a 20k. Most I find impossible are between 15 and 20k, so that's annoying I never even thought to try cause it said impossible
I know I did the same thing when I started mining
Sometimes you have to touch the rock with the lasers head to get it to change if itās almost to big
Surges are harder to use than the rieger
Yeah with the new information I'll probably keep the reigers. Will start carrying sabirs though. Is there a convenient source to resupply sabirs? Or do those work multiple times?
Most refineries sell them
You can reuse them if you donāt overcharge the rock it will fall off and blink red once the rock is cracked
