already done that once, this is a fresh roc
another question: they moved some mining modules out of stanton, where is the reiger now?
is it just me, or is hadanite a trap? it's worth 2x as much as frey but i feel like i get less than 1/2 the fragments per rock
Mining itself is becomming a trap. It is one of the least profitable loops unless you mine quantanium with a mole. But they don't seem to care because income isn't the purpose of mining anymore. Instead, in their 1.0 video and images, Mining is to get the crafting materials that you need for make better things and bases. So only try hards of mining will have a mole and instead, everyone else will just use Golem to get the mats they need to craft
Levsky
i cant sell construction salvage in lorville in 16scu boxes?
That's unrefined materials. You can only sell that in a refinery, or refine it into CMAT
I mined some of that also but only like 4 or 5 gems dropped out. And so it goes...
You here always complaining about mining while having no clue how it works.
Yeah i watched red monsters stream where five people are looking for quantanium for hours and when they find a big rock they spend another hour placing devices, organizing who gets what mining heads and breaking and scooping the rocks. They get 27 SCU of quantanium and they are all high fiving each other verbally and it's a whopping 27 million that is split 5 ways. It's a joke. If the Hull C deliveries were actually working all five would have gotten way more in less time. All while trying to squeeze out better efficiencies with different mining heads verses the difficulty and efficiency. Yeah what a waste of time.
Meanwhile they are all soloing moles hoping not to get ganked while doing it
As well, everyone says just doing fighting missions will get you more credits per hour than even hauling or mining, or scraping salvage
So i just got the caterpillar. What are some good trade routes or cargo missions to do with it?
If you are new to hauling you will have to build up your rep for more mission options. But starting out I am doing Seraphin Station to Orison planetary missions. As a medium rank person I get two direct to seraphim missions from Orison and then 3-4 direct missions from Seraphim cak to orison. Decent credits per hour once you get efficient at it. But there are better mission loops.
This one just gets you quick starting rep past rookie and journeyman and is quick and gets you enough to start buying modules for your ship
also little risk for a new person to hauling
Okay thank you!

this guy is young and a little too eager but if you can get past that the info is basic enough for a beginner to hauling and it does work

QED.
You have no clue about mining.
Quantanium mining is not to make much money its to get Polaris Bits. That you can sell to players or yous at Wikelo.
If you want to make money, your farming Taranit Bexalit or Lindinium.
This is my feeling exactly. You're either bulk-mining for "profit" or you're doing it in a targeted way to support yourself / your org because you actually need specific crafting mats.
that has nothing to do with mining then does it. Instead, it is exactly what I said earlier, you arn't mining for a job, you are doing it for crafting. Except this is for wikelo missions crafting. I don't know anything about wikelo because I haven't done it yet. Mining i have done now on golum, and prospector, with multiple heads using the mining apps ect.
yes, in this case they are apparently mining quantanium for Wikelo missions. But mining itself is the worst loop
- You can blow up your ship
- you can damage your ship and get stranded in space (happened to me but i fixed the ship)
- you have to refine things for hours
4, and then at the end of it all you have to haul it all to sell it like a hauler anyway. - you have to spend time trying to get better rocks to mine
It is the worst loop in the game
I think it's fun, and if you blow up you either fix your ship or you Backspace and continue the adventure.
No one is forcing you to mine, if you don't like it. A space sim without space mining would be . . . just a shame.
I see rick is still bashing mining.
They say they are going to work on it because of crafting so, maybe it gets better. But I don't think so. Instead, i see it only getting worse as it will be required to get certain items. This means that it will be overcomplicated, usually pay to win aspects, and need an org to actually get dones outside of materials for walls and floors. So every org is going to have to have a "mining group" in it, which is why i am bothering to get a ship on my account that can do it and spending the time learning it. But there isn't anyone who can say that it is a better loop than anything else. If you like it, well good for you, but its liking a turd basically
I mean, it's not my preferred gameplay but a lot of people seem to really enjoy it.
Bet you enjoy hitting poop with a hammer....getting it all over you.
So what mining ships do you have?
I want rick to get into a reclaimer (solo) and tell me about sucky gaming loops.
aww that's just mean
Friends don't let friends fly Reclaimers solo
right now just a golum, but i mined with a prospector bought in game before that
Now thats torture
I keep reading and watching about how reclaimer is broken and they claim that it is on purpose
Its not broken....only the players who cant handle her are broken.
I mean, the station does all the work for you? I don't get why people are bothered by long refine times. (I also only use Pyro Chrom refining method)
Offloading it is a chore.
Ahh fair enough. I like mining but it usually ends up expiring in my hangar storage
Oh I dont care about refinery times....
having player-created buy/sell orders would be cool.
Salvaging with the reclaimer is different.....I mean you need to first find ships (dont bother with contracts). Sometimes their power is still on so you need to board the ship and turn it off.
I like finding ships and stripping them, (especially when I was poorer) to upgrade my Cutlass B.
Where do you even find ships big enough to salvage with the reclaimer?
I usually roam around stations looking.... In that last run I managed a hammerhead, a c2 and another abandoned reclaimer.
Reclaimers you can salvage twice since they break in two sizeable chunks
I see. I'm always pleased when I see other Vultures feeding on ships near stations
You can refuel the reclaimer by landing at a external pad....you dont need to dock or goto a hangar.
maybe it wsa you i drove past in my Salvation ship while you were unloading cargo from the C2. I drove past someone loading up a reclaimer from a C2
I usually dont bother with unloading anything....I just bust them up
Easy land and refuel
Other ships can refuel this way too?
Yes
Good to know cheers Patriot
You dont need to land in a hangar....just land on the pad....refuel and go.
Is there any way to get RMC from a ship's storage into a Cambio repair tool? Seems silly to have a hold full of repair material but your tool is empty
and the Vulture only prints empty canisters . . .
I think the relaimer prints full ones?
Id have to check
I felt so silly when I wanted to repair my Vulture and I had to salvage part of the hull to repair the extractor heads
Considering my hold was nearly full of materials
yes
Time for the Reclaimer to feast!
Im in my Zeus
Yeah? Anything to share? I could swear the only canisters to print were empty
from what i am reading all you do is put in an empty canister and switch to salvage mode instead of repair
oh, yeah I mean I now how to use the tool. I just wondered if there was any way to fill it or create full canisters from the contents of a salvaging ship.
I think hes means filling them from another ship
Filling them from the vulture storage
"On most salvage vessels, RMC can also be converted into RMC canisters (for example, the Cambio-Lite SRT Canister) used by salvage and repair hand tools. Empty canisters that can be bought at dedicated shops can also be filled at commodity kiosks with RMC." - from the RSI website, but i haven't tried to fill canisters myself from salvaged scrap
You can buy full RMC canisters in lots of station shops
I just wondered if there was a way to use the RMC in a salvage ship's hold to fill an empty handheld canister. I think not.
"or use the multi-tool with an SRT attachment to fill small canisters for personal repairs from empty canisters found in your ship's storage. You equip the multi-tool, attach the Cambio-Lite SRT, equip empty canisters on your armor, scrape hulls with left-click (B to switch to repair), and swap canisters (R) when full. " what i found on internet but haven't tried it
Yes that sounds right, it's the "scrape hulls with left-click" I'm looking at. Thanks for the help, I think the answer is just "make sure you bring plenty of full canisters with you, or find a ship to scrape by hand"
It just seem silly to have a giant scraper spaceship and EVA out of it to scrape with a hand tool. Like getting out of your fire engine to hit something with a handheld extinguisher.
yes it does sound pretty dumb. i would hope that being able to craft these from salvage ships or RMC boxes at a crafting station would be something we can do soon
Boo, no demand for Quant or Taranite at Orison - anywhere else in Stanton I can reliably take it?
Ta. Yeah went to New Babbage
Id say NB
I suggest checking UEX next time if you have issues.
Yeah cheers. What's ArcCorp 141??
Oh interesting. Ta, yeah, good prices
Yeah but not buying a lot
Gotcha. For bex, tar, quant - one of the main planet hubs will be best I guess
how do you "find" ships per se?
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
if anyone is having this same issue to bring it to CIG attention
Distortion repeaters are not turning the power "ON" state to "Off" even if the pp is showing it is destroyed
Can you change lasers on an ATLS GEO?
yes
Ok yeah I see you can - all except hte 00Hof I cant put on. any reason to switch lasers? also I thought HIGH power mode was for surface gems and LOW was for caves, but LOW is all it takes to crack this hadonite I'm chasing. What am I missing?
I usually fly from station to station looking for abandoned ships outside the armastice zone.
whast peoples thoughts on the c1 spirit vs zeus cl for haulage?
Spirit for hauling contracts with 8+ SCU containers.
CL for trading and small contracts.
They show up all over - Patriot is right, they are often around stations, but you can also find them in asteroid fields and near mission beacons
neither? they are multirole ships with tiny cargo space. Buy a raft in game
raft for pure haulage or an asgard for a bit more versatility
Hey so im currently using this loadout on the mole and still struggling with the larger rocks. Is there anything anyone recommends changing ?
Erkul bad for mining heads loadout. It's good for the rest, but as an industrial you're just gonna go full industrial or full stealth.
Use !regolith instead, in par with this excel calculator
Use the website to search for ore location, optimal mining loadouts and the best trade locations
Ok cheers
If you're solo you don't need a high power Impact. You already have Helix. If you're looking for the lasgest rocks, you're going with a mix of Rieger-C3, Surge and Stampede.
Either 2xReiger-C3 + Surge, or Reiger-C3 + Surge + Stampede. You could be doing Rieger-C3 + 2x Surge, or even 3x Surge, but that ain't easy to use.
If you're not solo, you don't need a high power Impact, you have Helix, just use two of those.
Im solo mostly so would you recommend swapping my helix to reiger reiger surge ?
Yeah. What are you using the Impact and Klein for ?
Helix with 2xRieger-C3 gonna be too powerful for most of the cracked rocks you need to crack again before extracting.
You can use an Impact with 3x FLTR-XL as a low power head to crack smaller rocks and extract. FLTR also filters inert materials so you can care less about it and collect more of the ores you're after.
If you sometimes have a duo, you can have a 2nd Helix instead of Klein for a friend to go after even larger rocks.
Or if you're a psycho, you can use a Hofstede with 2x Focus (Focus I, not III) and that should allow you to crack ROC sized rocks.
So im solo 95% of the time
I own the zeus just for daily use....not really for hauling.
There are 4 abandoned ships here...one being that reclaimer. I took this screen shot last night....12/29 '
I also found a TAC with a Fury inside it at the Terra gateway
all the ships I've been finding recently have their shields and engines on, which makes things really difficult :/
Shoot shields down, shoot a door/ramp open, get in, power shields down.
unfortunately they either blow up or dont have ramps and the cockpit doesnt open
guardians were my favourite to find before, but the lift won't go up when you blow it open and the front doesnt blow open
plus I got stuck in a seat of a C1 the other night, couldn't even backspace
my recovery efforts are on hold now 😐
Soft dead ship is a ship you can salvage freely. Soft dead ships also have all doors and ports unlocked
If you blow them up, maybe use less weapons, or less powerful ones.
We’ve been struggling with salvage when it comes to ships from combat missions too. The ships just go straight to hard death, they never enter a soft death mode.
Thinking what we’ll need to do instead is bringing a ship with disruptors so we can board and kill the pilot, leaving the ship in tact and functional so we can offload it freely and scrape/crack it
yeah I need to find some ndbs I think
Like I took on a caterpillar in my L-21, started by taking out its turrets, then I targeted down the power plant and it just popped. It never shut off or went into a soft death state, it just exploded and sent cargo everywhere
Player ships may react differently, I’ve had my own ships go into a soft death state, aka power plant is off and no systems function, but npc ships seem to be skipping that
I really dislike how scanning changed, in that now I can’t see from a distance how big a rock is visually without pointing my ship at it
I like to just quickly hit the biggest rocks in a cluster when surface mining, and not being able to see the outlines from afar means I can’t quickly scan the ones I care about without sweeping over each of them one by one when I’m on the dark side
Targeting the power plant has a high likelihood to explode the ship I believe. Destroying engines might be the safest bet.
Could, but for that you’d have to target all the vectoring ones too if you want to have a chance at boarding. But yea that’d likely prevent the power plant from going boom
When we were looking at it the other day we were seeing ships with 500k-700k worth of non-drug cargo (silicon mostly) that could be interesting to collect and sell in org salvage ops, but of course step one is disabling the ships. Definitely going to try the disruptors route next
Are the vectoring ones targetable?
These are NPC ships or player?
npc
We’d definitely want a hull c to collect it given its bulk cargo, but that’s not too much of a hassle given we tend to run a dedicated cargo crew anyway when we do this stuff
Sounds fun.
None of it is super profitable, but it’s fun
More or less practice for when materials have real value for crafting/base building
I know nothing I guaranteed. But how is the autoloading of commodities. Reliable?
I’ve already learned to manually unload it…
low power is for hand-mineables, high power is for vehicle mineables, so meant for the ROC/GEO. Hadanite is a handmineable, so you're pretty much only going to be using low power to mine it
Hadanite and other hand mineables can spawn on the surface and in caves, same thing with vehicle mineables, but they're a lot less common in caves
fenmayline? yeah it is
Ohhhhhhhh. I did think the rock looked small
The hand minable spit out 3 or 4 gems, the bigger ones more. Yeah?
Yeah typically
If the rock is about as tall as your character, then its meant for a vehicle. If its somewhere below your waist, its meant for hand mining
does the external cargo loading from hailing a station only load to Hull Cs?
Yes.
ty. Wish it was anything with external cargo grids.
You can call the cargo up with the external cargo elevators and load it that way.
Does anyone know if you can change what size boxes to pack your RMC if it's in your storage as 1scu boxes?
If you tell the refinery to load it direct to a cargo ship it might go for larger boxes. Does with refined ores
Am I correct that, in Stanton, it's basically best to stick with Hadonite and Feymaline when out surface gem mining?
No, you can't rebox anything
yup
has the levski refinery worked for anyone recently?
doesn't work for me, tried on two different servers
hey... it worked, i can refine from the station. just not from the mole.
Can you still trade caranite and/or scrips for wikelo favors?
scrip yes , see the board next to the FE
excellent, thank you
Is there a way to reduce how quickly the progress meter spikes when GEO mining? I always end up getting myself killed with the GEO but I have no problems hand mining, ROC mining, or ship mining.
Sounds like you're using the GEO in ROC mode for hand sized rocks.
It was a normal feynmaline cluster on the surface, so I imagine they were ROC sized
In doubt, begin with hand mode, see if you need more power after.
L-alt + 4 drops your geo to low power
don't accidently hit f4 though......
lmao
not sure who thought it was a good idea to make that the combo for low power
it's all in just managing your laser power. You have two tools at your disposal for that in a roc or geo, and this also applies to ships like the golem and prospector: Distance from the rock, and your actual laser power on the right. Distance from the rock more or less applies a multiplier to your laser power, the further away you are, the less power you can output. If you find that moving the power on your laser is having too big of an effect on the rock, move your geo/roc/ship away from the rock.
If I can make it to a rock cluster without getting attacked, I'll see if I can experiment with that
you basically never want to be in a position where the only tool you have to not overpower your rock is to turn the laser off, turning the laser off is typically a bad thing and should only be used in an emergency, so if you have your laser at min power and the green bar is still moving, you definitely want to back off
(that doesn't really happen in geo mining though i don't think?)
Dang, that would be nice
Indeed it would
what I want to see is the ability to selectively refine just one or two things from a set of mole bags without it discarding other stuff in the bag
so, for example, being able to take a set of molebags with taranite, quant, and bex and set up 3 work orders for it, one for each of the raw ores
this would let you haul bags around to different stations to refine each raw ore at the best place to refine it
Can hull c deliver planetside via cargo? For example Tessa spaceport
No
If I have a contract for pickup at a smaller location on a planet, why do I get the trespassing notification when I land? I didn't even get the option to Hail for clearance.
You can do this. Giant waste of time though
I mean, currently you can’t, unless you meticulously track what each set of bags has
You have to take all the bags with you yeah
So becomes a big waste of time. I doubt they will ever make this happen
When gens explode, is the ROC safer than the ATLS. Died 100m out from an explosion in an ATLS. Annoying!
Ugh game just ate about 4 hours of gem mining. Thanks, game
Wait (Crucial): After a 30k, close the game and launcher completely. Wait at least 10-15 minutes, but potentially several hours, for the server to process the recovery.
Log Back In: Re-launch the game and launcher.
Go to ASOP Terminal: Head to the ASOP (Aircraft Serial Operations Panel) terminal at your home base (e.g., Area 18, Lorville).
Check Ship Status:
"Retrieve": Your ship is ready; click it to get it back, cargo and all.
"Claim": DO NOT claim it. This means the system still thinks your ship is "lost" or in an "unknown state." Close the game and wait longer (another few hours) before trying again.
Inspect in Hangar (If needed): After retrieving, summon the ship to the hangar and visually check inside to ensure cargo registers before storing it again
is that true ????????
Are you sure that's a #industrial-professions question ?
Ask in #helpdesk instead, and use screenshot or link rather than random quote
Is that a changeable shortcut in key bindings? If yes, what's the name?
no idea
Anyone know how to fix the Roc where the crosshairs are way off from where the laser actually shoots?
Thanks for the advice!
A site elevator just at my gems. Day 3 of not being able to succesfully crack gems and sell them. Sigh.
Decided to change it up: Got corsair, put nursa, ATLS, some stores in it, went to pyro, went to a moon, alt-tabed and crashed.
And now me and my NURSA are on the moon on our own 🙁
Ohno! You need a pick up?
I summoned a AANGL team lol
I just can't believe how many times I've failed to gem mine now lol
As it turns out it was all pointless. I alt-tabbed, game crashed, came back in falling through the planet, relogged, got spawned me back at a station. I then re-claimed my gear and started sorting out my stuff for another epxedition when bam - server crashed
Hey! I'm on Verseguide looking at outposts in Pyro and seeing there are Xenothreat outposts with freight elevators but labelled as hostile. Can you approach these outposts safely? Will they shoot or can you trade with them?
how tf are u even meant to unload the reclaimer?
Rusty Rayes coming at you with a tip to make unloading the Reclaimer faster and easier #starcitizen
0:00 Intro
0:33 Sell From Grid
1:29 Rear Hatch Trick
4:17 Outro
The little hatch in the back.
open all doors and you can throw it down the main elevator too
Park it over an external cargo elevator and unload her there. I suggest asking someone to help you.
every external elevator I’ve gone to recently didn’t let me use my tractor beam nearby
Dont approach the elevators at a steep angle. I usually come in parallel with the elevators.....never any issues.
Works fine. Like I said approach the elevators parallel with the station.....
Can someone explain to me the benefits of using external elevator vs interior docking?
You mean, landing ?
Well, a lot of stations don't have hangars large enough for a Reclaimer or Hull-C to begin with.
Ah. I see but functions the same way?
And it's also more convenient as tractor beams perform a lot better in zero G.
Were did you try it? @keen garden
you asking me?
Forgott to @ him
Is the nomad good for a new player to get into cargo?
Yep, it's a good little starter for cargo hauling. You can also fit a ROC land miner in the cargobay if you ever want to try out mining for gems. It can also do the very basic combat missions with its three size 3 weapon hardpoints if you want to give bounty hunting/mercenary work a whirl.
There are better ships in that pricepoint for hauling, but they aren't nearly as good for a starter ship since they're only haulers and can't do much else.
What missions should I start off with doing, like hauling or should I do some ROC mining?
Want to try out salvage never having done this b4. Does this UEX charts mean RMC is going for 1.1k at Rappel? If it does I don’t see any point in bothering. I just want to make sure I am not missing something.
Or this?
Thats the amount of SCU that rappel is willing to buy, RMC is worth about 7k per SCU
Gem explosions can set your ship on fire! I was reviving in the Nursa and going "why is everything flamey?" Lol.
This was fun 😄
amazing screenshot lol
Help me with the numbers as I cannot figure out how you got to 7k
That is amazing and welcome to Star Citizen in a flaming nutshell lol...
For RMC in particular it is mostly "made" in the salvage ships and I sell mine at like Orison who can handle higher volume sales of the RMC. There's no way I would take 100 scu to Seer's Canyon to sell at $7,140.00 Aeuc which is what I saw a few minutes ago on that page. On the sell tab for RMC at Seer's Canyon they take on average 448 which is less than 1 scu (1,000 scu equals one one full crate so 448 is less than one full crate) So to sell 100 crates in the 1 scu size there I would need 100 trips at minimum which no one does really.) But you can try it in the game to learn more. Go to Jackson's Swap see how much they sell you and run it over to Seer's Canyon to sell and you will learn a lot about the game.
Might be clearer here

hi there, did anyone ever try the combo SRV + salvage ship?
e.g. with a fortune or salvation?
my idea is to pull ships from non-armistice zones like paf, olp or pyro outposts and create a scrap yard
all in all more like a rp idea which I want to try mixed with a little money making
I've not played around much with srv but afaik it is quite disappointingly limited in what it can tow. I like the idea of making a scrapyard but I don't think there is a way to make it persistent currently unless you cram the ship wrecks into all the nooks and crannies of your home hangar...? correct me if I'm wrong.
hm wrecks only have to persist a few hours max. I don't plan on logging off during a session
the limit is a connie afaik
which is sufficient for me
I see... I mean for rp, sure. For practicality it is far more effort and time wasted towing wrecks than just salvaging them there and then..
of course haha 😄
i don't try to min max
Good place to do some "clean up" are distro centres like Dupree and such too as people often die and abandon ships there
you might get shot tho 😛
this is a risk I'm ready to take in the service of authentic rp lol
I also don't know what the restrictions on towing something are.. like do they need shields to be off like for salvage?
yes afaik
that might be a big hinderance in hostile places where you might need to get in and out fast
in the worst case I need to force my way in...which is an issue with the srv since it doesn't ship weapons
i will bring heavy fps weapons
See if you can fit a land vehicle on the cargo ramp. Pulse will likely fit but something with guns would be better
actually standard pulse has some weapons
so you're golden
So I have been doing hauling with my start ship(Nomad) I am looking at upgrading to do bigger hauls and make more money. Someone said the Tarus was good. Is that what I should get?
ROC makes more short term. Hauling makes more when you have a larger capacity ship, but you need high reputation for that.
Unverified hauling (smuggling) can also make a bit of money and doesn't require a high SCU load.
In the end, prioritize fun per hour over UEC per hour.
I firmly suggest renting a Raft for bigger hauling contracts to amass some money
Taurus is an excellent all rounder but if you are just doing hauling atm Raft is better in every way for pure hauling and very cheap to rent.
like 70k per day and you can make the money back + profits in 1 run
I mainly do hauling yes. Someone gave me 10mil last night so I was looking at buying a ship
I would recommend throwing the 10mil away and playing the game but do as you please 😉
you can buy/rent both the raft and taurus from Lorville
We were doing contracts and stuff and I apparently didn't get paid for some of the work I did last night so Ima probably keep it lol
I did save up almost 1mil on my own
That is where I am headed now from everus
slight correction Taurus is apparently only rentable from New Babbage but still bought in Lorville
No worries!
Raft has more SCU than Taurus?
Oh heck yeah
I was just able to fit way more SCU onto my nomad than I thought lol. I just shoved stuff into the back part between other locked down items and it worked
@royal spear the Argo RAFT?
yes it is
Hello,
It's been awhile since I did mining. I notice the intert materials aren't being removed from the Propspector bags after setting up a refinery order...how do I fully empty them?
Go to the other terminal near the refinery terminal and sell the trash rocks
Ah, ore sales? Interesting. Thanks!
With smuggling I tried it but I found it really difficult to find the outposts, any advice?
I don't personally have too much experience with smuggling, but all of the outposts should be on VerseGuide.
is it the large cargo hulls that need hull c?
where can i buy ship modules?
Lots of different places, I'd reccomend using https://finder.cstone.space/ to look up where certain ingame items are sold
The Hull C can be used for any hauling mission as long as it goes from the 4 LEO and 3 gateway stations in Stanton, the 3 main Stations in Pyro and gateway Stations and Levski and gateway stations in Nyx. These are the only places that support Hull C loading. The haulage missions with above 600ish SCU is better done in a Hull C of course otherwise you can still do them with multiple trips in a C2...
Newbie question. Looking to get into salvaging. Which ships can be salvaged for RMC without attracting a crimestat?
My current understanding is an unowned ship which has no shields (either a ship is on but the shields are destroyed or tuned off or b) the ship is “turned off”)
Am I right? I’m thinking of all the abandoned ship as places like Lazarus facilities or other non-armistice zone places
Should these give that much!?!?!
multi stop interstellar hauling, why not?
with the added risk of being murder hobo'ed in pyro too 😄
How do I get to pyro, I am at the jump but no UI comes up so I dont understand what to do
get in nav mode and approach the wormhole
once youre at a certain distance the tuning stuff comes up
^ if you've swapped out your quantum drive before double check you have a jump modue installed too
Agh, my tab to scan wasn’t working so I had to reload, it then cancelled the quest , so annoying!!!!
Hi gang, I tried to refine construction rubble but anytime I select confirm after choosing a method to refine with nothing happens.
Any ideas? I'm using a rented hull A.
- Nvm I fixed it, just moved the rubble to the warehouse.
I want to focus on hauling and trading, currently using the nomad, what’s a good upgrade?
asgard, raft or c2, depending on your budget and ambitions
Are you scraping for profit or fun?
If you scraping for profit go to a Astroid field, there you find scrap panels these are why more profitable than scraping ships.
To find them, you need to scan for signatures that can evenly divided by 2,000. Like 8,000 or 10,000
If you doing it for fun. You can scrap every ship out of the armistice zones with no shields and no power.
Just for fun - thanks, I’ll have a play.
Anyone know about using the 2 cargo modules for the Retaliator? is the open all command in the cockpit area? I can't find it nor a open panel from outside the ship. Thanks!!
The panels are just inside the doorway (inside) I can't remember where outside I might have gone back up the elevator to open them when I was testing it
The open all from cockpit can be done in seat from the interaction wheel 'alt+F' not sll ships have a button in the cockpit to open doors. Also if there's an engineering panel you can open doors from that too.
Ok great I will investigate further and thanks!!
anyone know why this rock wont even start to break
54k mass, not going to crack that with a single laser #industrial-professions message
That's why it says "Impossible" on the right side. Especially with that laser setup. You would need multiple people and possibly multiple Moles. And I've seen bigger rocks before.
Not that the difficulty rating is to trust as is.
Every experienced miner has seen impossible rocks that cracked just fine.
Yeah, "impossible" doesn't always mean impossible, but if you hit it with full power and get nothing after a couple of seconds, it's probably impossible with the current setup.
With his setup though, I figure impossible would be accurate. I suspect that gauge doesn't fully take into account the modules, like the Rieger C3, just the base laser.
Is the hull C worth it at all?
Yes, Helix II with 3 Surge modules is the only "one head" setup capable of cracking this.
And it's going to be a huge pain
For commodity trading, it's broken right now. Not sure about how it's working for hauling missions, but if you look up Captain Deadwake on Youtube, he does videos about the Hull C's status when a new patch drops.
There's a website where you can use to find caves and other unknown locations: VerseGuide. But you can also see caves by pinging while flying around. It'll actually pop up a thing saying Cave.
All moons have them and there's a cave or two near outposts, they show on the scanner, there's a couple near the mining outposts on Daymar and there's like 3 near Chawla's Beach on Pyro IV that show up on a scan.
whats the meta money making method rn? i would love to try the asgard
Any experienced miners here?
Need help with mining impossible quant rocks. Ive got a MOLE, Helix II, Rieger 3 and 2x surge, with a Sabir attached on a 32k rock and still cant crack it. People are saying they can easily solo 60k.... how????
Can the MOLE's secondary lasers still help with this?
Multiple mining lasers on the same rock will help each other, even if they come from multiple ships. (Some rocks may well need multiple fully crewed Moles.) Also, just to make a note, Surge modules are not always on like the Rieger C3 is, they have to be turned on to be useful. (I personally run my Mole with 2x C3 and a Focus III.)
Yeah i had surge active ofc, no affect
Its possible....you need to be closer
A Sabir gadget would help you immensely
Scratch that....it wont. I was checking on https://rockbreaker.peacefroggaming.com/ and I had the other two lasers manned
Sabir would help
This is crackable with Rieger-C3+Surge+Sabir, don't even need a 2nd Surge
But there's no Sabir on your rock here. Would show this in bottom middle of your HUD if you had one.
I added one after the screenshot
Definitely had sabir active, rieger c3, 2x surge and in range
Its a tiny rock easily soloable and i cant do it, idk why
Had 2 surges going until it depleted, nothing
Is it worth it to upgrade from a Aurora MR to a Drake cutter?
For package and small Cargo delivery
For comfort and vibes, yes.
For overall use, not really.
Both are terrible haulers, Cutter is a worse fighter, but will be more comfy to get packages in and out and a bike too.
Look at it for your daily use, but for a hauler, just rent something in game.
Caterpillar is overkill for a starter and a pain to use
Ah ok it just looks so cool
Nomad, Hull-A, Spirit C1, Zeus CL, RAFT, from small to mid sized, all rentable but Zeus, try them and see.
Large sized, C2 rules.
Will change a bit in a few months, with the arrival of the Hull-B, Railen and Ironclad.
Will be nice.
Thnx so much
Im upgrading my RAM to 32gigs and yesterday i remembered i have this game so im gonna be in the verse in like 2 weeks when the ram comes
Im excited
Raft is fantastic
Doing a hauling mission and I cannot split the stack of containers, which are too big for the elevator
I assume you're in a medium hangar. If you have a ship that fits in a large hangar, store the current one, go retrieve the large ship, enter the large hangar and get your other ship with cargo back.
Or the same thing with small/medium instead of medium/large, idk.
Landing pad at an outpost
There shouldn't be such issue with a hauling contract at an outpost.
The issue its its 4x16scu, and it will only let me put 2 on at a time
How do I specify only 2 of the 4?
Send two, send the other two.
I click stack of 4, I click add to lift, it says no
I right click to open split menu, split menu does nothing
But you should totally be able to fit 4x 16 SCU containers onto one elevator
Should yes
Make sure you check every available elevator at the outpost.
This one is bugged, part of the grid is bricked. If all are, change server region, redo.
Split interface is kinda bugged right now. Doesn't show the numbers. But it should still work, just click the up arrow twice
hear me out. An atls geo on a raft for gem mining
so. i did a trail run of using the C2 as a mining vessel.
turned out well
i do recommend bringing a ship repair tool & mats as the extended use of the drake can lead to maneuvering thruster loss from dmg taken from cracking asteroids from time to time
What is your laser setup?
Its been a while but when I took them out it was fun also. Takes a little setup
Is mining worth it now? or should I stick to other stuff? or is it more of a personal preference?
How does illegal hauling contracts work?
I don't have the names on hand but it's the red module that increases laser output and then the filtration module that filters out unusable materials
and then the mining head is default as you can't change the head on the golem
as long as you have something to run your refined resources like a Zeus or bigger you can make some good money off it if you do targeted mining
like if you target tannerite one load of majority tannerite should net you around 1 to 3 million
Umm so was the red one an active one (surge/stampede) or a passive one (rieger)?
The filtration module is FLTR. Ideally, FLTR-XL.
"Red that increases laser output" matches the description of the Brandt module.
It also increases resistance, which the Golem mining head already increases a lot. It's bad.
Focus on Quantanium it brings in big money on the UEX marketplace.
Why would it be more there than from just like an admin?
can you do other stuff with it beside sell it?
Admin buys for a set price.
Players buy for Wikelo, and like everything on player driven market (just like IRL market), demand makes price rise, and buyers are willing to pay crazy prices.
they're both passive modules One looks like an engine that's red the other ones a yellow thing at the top of the list of stores on the module tab
to my understanding The only thing that will prevent you from mining an asteroid in the small category is the asteroid mass they need to add more mining vessels to make use of size two or size 3 mining heads The golem uses a size 0 that can't be changed because it's a custom but it works better for me then the head you can buy for the prospector at cargo stores
with the increased laser power I can sometimes even break asteroids that are marked as impossible if I can find their fault line
Fault Line? I know there's an optimum distance, but do space rocks really have weak points / fault lines?
when they're heating up the cracks that appear are actually weaker to the mining laser
from what I've done mining wise before I figured out that on some of the larger if they're right above hard into impossible if you hit one of these continuously you can still mine at very slowly but it's possible
I guess I'll have to make a video of it
Golem uses a Size one mining head. Like the Prospector. MOLE size two.
Arrastra will be the first (and only) ship with size 3 mining heads, and Orion is yet an other category. These two will be cracking rocks larger than anything we have in game for now.
Golem head is the same as the best size one mining head, the Helix, with only one difference being a major resistance increase for the Golem.
Both mass and resistance affect whether you can crack a rock or not. The largest rock you can crack is ([max_power * 5] * resistance).
For a Golem, it's a 29531kg rock with Rieger-C3+Surge modules, at 0% resistance. Same for the Prospector, except the resistance scaling is harsh on the Golem. At 25% resistance, a Prospector can crack a 25k rock, a Golem a 20k.
The "Impossible" reading being inaccurate can be true for all rocks and all loadouts. Always check if you can crack it with actually trying it or the good formula rather than believing dumb text.
_ _
I didn't see any prospector heads that could hold two modules
Helix. The one I'm talking about here. But there's also the Impact that can have two modules.
huh
The only downside is the prospector doesn't fit in the C2 cargo Bay
Power calculator. Doesn't include the Pitman option, but you can make it.
at least the C2 I have I don't know about the military cargo variant
Every Hercules variant fits the same vehicles.
Golem with mothership is indeed better than solo Prospector.
If you own a 890J, Polaris or Idris, Prospector fits and then you can just use that.
Golem is the good choice if you have lower incomes. 890J is pricy af.
I think the two biggest ships I have are the caterpillar and the C2
and I kind of forgot about all the ships I bought My organization gave me money and told me to go try out ships before the wipe
oh Hercules is part of the name of that ship never mind
What's the best setup for mining quant solo these days? It's been a long time since I last mined
This is very interesting and good to know, thank you!
I’ve learned a lot from you this week 🍻
what kind of file is this?
Excel sheet
This is placebo.
placebo?
Placebo!

I don't understand
It means you're eating sugar pills instead of mining
I hope it wasn't that much cause there's a lot to filter.
May need a FLTR-XL variant for confident inaccuracies. Dude's hallucinating more than a LLM
I'm mostly joking, it's part of the learning process to make mistakes, but it's best to avoid spreading them as confident advice
Mostly about being able process ore containers from a cargo hold instead of the mining ship.
The crack thing seems "rather suprising" and I'm not shocked to hear that claim being refuted.
dont help that the game tells you nothing and from the seems of it a LOT of the info given by the game is a lot of the times wrong or bugged and if the crack shit aint real then why when i move my lazer contact point over it that all the stats on the asteroid changes and it heats up faster?
nor does it help to randomly use a medical term when there are normal terms for that misunderstanding
also i cannot use that excel file i dont have a license for it's program
Use free equivalent 🤷
there was a trail but i used that years ago
Free equivalent. Not free trial.
Different software, that does the same thing.
this force overlays itself on the program and if I click out of it it closes the program
if I drag it off screen and try to interact with the program I get the standard Windows tone when another window is taking priority on the program
You are not even trying.
It's been decades that Placebo isn't just a medical term btw. It's commonly used to describe stuff that acts similarly as placebo medicines.
Regarding the in game information, it's very true that there's very little of it, and that a good portion of what we do have is bugged.
I do however find rare to have direct in game information be inaccurate.
I can't exactly say I've explored the whole game All I've done so far is cargo delivery and mining
StarCitizen is close to impossible without the use of third party websites.
Erkul.games
Finder.cstone.space
Regolith.rocks
Uexcorp.space
...
I don't even know if I can consider the bounty hunting I've done really bounty hunting it was a bit too easy to be considered the normal bounty hunting I think
Like basically every career, it starts with very newcomer friendly stuff.
Harder and better paying contracts are unlocked as you gain reputation by repeating the currently available ones.
eh i kind figured that much.
idk why but my stt just broke

Does timer on cargo missions matter? They time out or arbitrary atm
is wear and tear on mole lasers just not repairable?
was repaired at a station quite a few times this patch, never claimed this mole
hi all, just wondering, i've been trying to mine quantanium with the prospector but all quantanium rocks say impossible, is there a way to mine quantanium with the prosp? at the moment im uisng a helix with 2 reiger c3's
for some it matters from what I can tell (I could be wrong honestly). The normal cargo hauling planetary and stellar expire eventually and your cargo becomes worthless. The red wind line hauling and the other one do not expire though. If the timer is 1-2h it is expiring, if it is 5m it is not is what I observed basically
Impossible just means the size and resistance are too high for your current equipment. If it’s close, you may be able to fracture slowly even though it says impossible.
If you use a gadget you may be able to overcome and mine.
I am so lost, just accepted a hauling contract go to the place get shot at then find people inside killing others, kill them for self defense and then get crimestat, kill other npcs who are shooting at me in the area, try to leave, 2 other players start shooting at me and I wake up at grim hex
Can anyone explain what just happened to me???
also How do I get rid of crimestat now?
I am so lost, just clicked in three different channels and they all have the same chat history smh
That is neither strange, nor not-strange
The 2 choices are go to Security Post Kareha and clear your crimes crimestat or surrender to Prison.
brother, why post this into all the channels
Payments for haul missions are wild, they seem to be either 'make 5 stops' or 'haul 1000scu of stuff' and which pays more seems arbitrary
It's a bit of a mess, needs polishing, I'm sure they have a plan but right now the same rookie interstellar missions pay more than the master ones for example. I find myself getting frustrated with the long list of garbage missions tbh. If I could at least filter by my current location that would help.
Same, I always check the hauling missions, see that they want me to pick up from 4 different places, then deliver to another system, and go "F all that" and head somewhere else. Maybe someday when I'm more hard-up for $$. For now I'll just go murder an Outlaw for $50k.
Please Devs. Anything with an external cargo grid allow use of auto load at stations. The Hull series, Raft, Golem OX….
whats the big money make nowadays have $300usd store credit if i melt msr, havetn played for 4 years im solo
Apparently begging for money is king these days.
Damn... Im confused. I did salvage a few times in the past. I remember it being really good profit for time. Just got a RSI salvation. Was super impressed with how much I liked it. Then went to sell the RMC. Im confused. I spent way more time doing this than doing like 3 bounties. I dont see the value. Some bounties give almost this much. on top of that I was paying for the contracts to salvage.
Biggest tip I can give is dont waste time on salvage contracts. You can easily find abandoned ships outside the armistice zones around stations.
Even then I don't see the profit vs time. It's fun but I feel like I'm just wasting time.
Youre also selling at a location that offers less than other buyers. - https://uexcorp.space/commodities/info/name/recycled-material-composite/tab/locations_buying/
And yeah....IMO in the salvation....it is a waste of time.
Mining will get you way more for your time invested.
Personally I enjoy salvaging....in a reclaimer....and not scraping ships for RMC.
Hi all! Anyone has suffered this bug where the mole is “destroyed” and no matter what you will need to reclaim it in order to be able to do refineries orders?
I have tried even changing the ore pods and storing them, but when reclaiming back the mole they just despawn forever
Nope. Just putting stuff on an external hangar at an outpost and when using terminals it’s deleted….
Hi, if i have Hauling questions, would this be the right channel to ask ? 🙂
yup
I just got to Covalex member and all the contracts are kinda crap ?
I did Ling Family Intro and Red Wind Intro but they are also kinda meh ?
What do i need to do to get contracts with like 10-15 min rides for good money ? (Single Pickup, Single Dropoff, preferably)
Ya member on covalex are smaller loads and more drop offs. Pita
Btw nothing better than loading 500scu and the last box in the air -> server error
From fort tressler ( and other planet harbor stations ), there are usually multiple contracts you can stack up to the same small number of destinations. So its mixed cargo from 6 contracts to the same 3 places, for a total of around ~600k
interstellar cargo missions also pay around that
Don't do it for the cash payout, do it to get better at procuring RMC and construction parts and for hanging out in space. Strictly for-profit there are better things to do, but this way you're making a little money, fussing with your setup / modules / gadgets and hopefully having fun.
I do enjoy it. I especially like the faster little ship. Something about being nimble and doing it is way funnier to me.
I've done it for a few minutes on a friend's Reclaimer and for a few hours in my Vulture. It's a lot of fun indeed, I've always loved salvaging wreck in space games.
Any idea what ship that is in the sneak peak?
It looks like a variant of the apollo
So, another small hauler?
boo, what the game needs is something between the raft and the c2/hull-c level ( thats not the caterpillar)
That will hopefully be the Hull B and Railen
Railen got such an increase of the cargo capacity that it's more equalling the current hauling kings rather than being a step before.
It doubled, doing 640 SCUs.
Hull B is possibly getting the same treatment.
Hull B should be 512. Together with Railen it doesn't seem that they'll have any off-grid cargo possible, compared to the ~800 of fully stuffed C2. If you'd want something around 300, go off-grid on an Asgard.
i was told to come here i cant sell these
Different stores buy/sell different stuff, tried selling at Ruin Station?
you wont get much for it tho, i would simply space out the boxes somewhere
Uh i would but my ship wont start? I think it blew the engines are red
You're trying to sell raw ores at a trade terminal? Who told you to "go there"?
i thought it would work LOL
i just started
Unrefined ore and inert materials can be sold at the refinery.
Not a trade terminal.
where can i find refinerys i looked for some and didnt find
If you pull up the map in the mobiglass and select a location it will tell you if there is a refinery there.
my new C2 mining configuration. 10 rounds of pods
Whats mobilglass?
go to any of the L1 stations of whatever planet you are now, for example: CRU-L1, ARC-L1, HUR-L1 or MIC-L1
got it
this site gives you the full list: https://uexcorp.space/mining/refineries
nice!, well done! 👍
lol i just quantum traveled into a rock and blew up with all my shit
the spice must flow
quick question, does the salvation fit in the asgard?
thanks :3
heya, any good salvaging guides?
Got no idea how it works now, just heard you gotta refine stuff now?
You need to refine the construction materials....not the RMC.
gotta refine cmat salvage to cmat now but other than that it's still the same as before
Anyone got a solid take on the Golem OX?
I'm a fan of the first Golem, and I like the Hull A, but figured 64 SCU was just too small to bother with it.
Has anyone out there found the OX to be useful and enjoyable?
Ahh, okay, thanks
Vulture or Fortune? Which is better?
have they fixed the mole yet? dont wanna buy it if the UI is still broken
are you by your self?
Id say the fortune cuz it has easyer loading and offloading but i think the vulture is faster at salvage
the vulture i think can breakdown bigger ships tho
Me too
i think it still is :/
I started out using the Vulture so im biased. I see more of them then I do Fortunes...
leaning that way myself
wiki shows a rental price but it doesnt look like its actually available anywhere
Yeah you cant rent the vulture.
Question for chat
The goal is to save for an Argo Mole and upgrade the lasers, probably close to 9 mil.
Do I buy a prospector, upgrade and do smaller mining runs?
Do I buy a vulture and do salvage?
Do i rent an Argo Mole and deal with its shitty lasers for bigger hauls?
Use my Argo RAFT and do hauling? (I have had bad luck with this so far)
If I have a hull c, can I pick up multiple hauling missions from a single pickup point and it will load all the missions I picked… to then go to each of the drop offs and it will select the right stuff to unload? Or not that intuitive and only one at a time
I love the raft and its smaller cousin golem ox.
I do too but i run into a lot of disconnects and issues that result in me losing cargo
then i wasted time with no money to show for it
Mining does seem to be more consistent but im relying on getting good rocks, and the Rented Mole doesn't have lasers strong enough to crack big rocks
I don't know how the vulture gameplay loops works so i'm not sure if it would be better
Ya that’s why I do hauling missions. Low risk. Low reward but predictably consistent.
you find this better than a mole and 8 bags?
It works some of the time, sometimes it bugs and wont deliver all or pickup all but its half working
You can alwasy check external elevators for whats missed
I often pickup 8 at a time in Pyro and hop statiion to station, some wont fully complete but still enough for 25-75% completion
I guess maybe i should look up some cargo hauling routes and do those for cash then
i wasn't planning to solo mine with the mole, but i did want to figure out the best way to make cash to buy one
renting a mole is ass because of the inferior lasers though
Member Medium Hauls from Red Wing in Pyro arent bad for a Hull C
I have a RAFT
Then Coalex in Stanton or REd Wing in Pyro both work
Covalex you could fit a good few smaller ones if you are wanting money
Like a station to city and back
300k-400k a run 6-8 contracts that are a couple scu each if you just want money
Stanton is nicer for that
I always end up having to go to Teasa Spaceport in Stanton
You can pick up in everus and go up/down to the planet. I do it in a golem ox. Three Member Small missions that all pick up in everus and deliver to the same three locations with different resources. Makes like 350k in 30 min.
Noob here - Just done my 1st mining run - How do I get rid of Inert Materials?
Go to the Ore Sales terminal next to the Refinery terminals and sell there. You’ll get 5-10 aUEC. It clears out your bags.
Am I doing something wrong? I am landed at the delivery location for a local hauling contract and it wont let me use my tractor
Next to where you start your refinery orders.
So I have a bunch of old items from failed courier missions. Can’t sell them as now they’re considered stolen etc. can I sell them in grim or somewhere else or do I just dump on a planet somewhere?
How profitable is mining nowadays?
I used to love it 4 years ago when I played, now certain trade runs in my raft can do 2M profit which is insane
like commodities, or hauling contracts?
With high risk of disconnect and elevators eating your shit before you can trade it
That
Ended up doing a character reset, might do prospecting this time around not sure how profitable it is though or what to mine
last time i played i made 2M with 2 or 3 Mole fillings
can you solo a mole or still need to do it duos?
solo is a bit more work than a prospector but i like it
Does anyone know where to find a good thing to find ship parts, a youtube or website, bc I wanna upgrade my nomad to improve my hauling but I don't know where to find good parts
Erkul can show you some
Anything miltiary can only be found, but the rest will show what shops to buy
stealth too, no?
whats up with having to find parts now
you've had to for quite a while now
its been 4 years used to just be trips across stanton
As of a year ago when contested zones first released, high end stealth and I think all military components are loot only
A buddy of mine salvaged a Constellation Tauras and it had quite a few SCU boxes of material including a 32SCU box of 40 tons of Iron
Do i refine this or sell it at a TDD?
If i do refine it how do i do that? I put it on the freigh elevator and moved it into the station.
If it says iron, then you can sell it at TDD. If it says iron(ore), you need to refine it - go to station with refinery, send down via freight elevator, select new refining job with source in the station
Depending on where you are, you can also sell it to some station (i.e. most stations in Pyro buy iron, usually at slightly better price)
Hopefuly 40t of Refined Iron has a nice price too it
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
I suggest UEX over Tradetools....
Tradetools gets its data from UEX
Both are useful IMO though
ok so, according to UEX Terra Gateway in ST has the best price?
Thats good cause i didn't really wanna go to Pyro
I'm just moving some of the cargo boxes for my friend, it was his salvage rights
Yeah with materials like that id stay in stanton unless you are already in pyro...
How do you update the pricing? I'd like to help keep it accurate lol
Found it
Can i leave it on the ship when i sell it?
If you are going to sign up I suggest also joining the UEX discord....the link is on the website.
Leave what? the iron?
yeah all the material
Yeah you need to store the ship though
I'm assuming the TDD kiosk is in the Cargo Area?
Galeria
ah how do i check the price of the sale again? i marked it but cant cancel it to check it
It should come up once you sell it
I got it, market value is still accurate
i was trying to get the aUec per SCU so i could input it into UEX
2,121 per SCU
74.2k total
Is the profit for like mining, and trading likely to go down or up? It feels like it's super cheap to repair and refuel and everything, are they ever gonna make that feel like it matters or is it gonne be a minor thing till the full release or whatever? (also salvage doesn't feel good right now)
but at least running some routes and contracts in my zeus feels alright
Historical prices for refined ores have more than doubled over the past year according to UEX
And cmats have gone from 2143 per scu to 9783 in 12 months on average.
how does the reward money for a haul get split between 2 party members? Buddy and I did a 222k hauling mission and I only got like 125k while he seemed to get the full amount.
I noticed it was like insanely higher. I've played off and on, but I played pretty heavily, back when it was just stanton olisar and my beloved titan.
I remember things being way cheaper. Have costs for stuff gone up a bunch too? because those seem about the same if not less.
Cost of what specifically?
Mostly like upkeep and repairs and whatnot?
I think they are the same. Honestly I haven't had to spend much other than refueling
I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about a wipe soon, what’s the likelihood of it happening bc I just started and don’t want to invest too many hours if it’s just gonna reset.
The game is a public alpha test under constant revision/development.
There will be recurring wipes of various types for years.
If you wait for the wipes to end before playing, you may be waiting a while.
Its nice with the wipes tbh, I like an occasional reset, it is just like Seasons in the old Diablo and other games.
On another note, guys, Mining - I haven't really done it before, I tried a little hand mining, but I'd like to try out Quant mining, seems like its highly profitable and in demand, plus mentally relaxing too
Also what is the nyx system theme, Stanton is lawful and mega corps whilst pyro is criminal and pirate stuff, what’s nyx about?
independence?
What is the new mining Meta for Solo miners?
I have 2 options I was told were viable:
Newb build: Prospector w. Hofstede S-1 + Surge
Harcore: Prospector w. Helix I + Focus III & Surge
All builds: Swap MISC for Argo ore pods
Palisade Shields + Stealth components for the rest.
I figured Quant mining is the bomb right now to alleviate market requirements, any guides/advice out there? Videos seem to be outdated and speaking against eachother.
There are some exploits that allowed users to gain billions. The cheaters try to muddy the waters by throwing money at random people, so it's likely that once the exploits are fixed, there will be a wipe to restore balance. I'd suggest focusing on levelling up reputation, that's not affected and thus shouldn't be wiped.
Nope. The economy team stated in some recent post (when talking about the wipe etc), that the income is intended and there are money sinks planned, but until they're introduced in game, we will see higher money influx compared to spending.
glad to hear, I agree there is no point on a wipe if the exploits aren't fixed, cheaters will simply dupe back to millions just hours after the wipe and nothing would change.
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/comm-link/transmission/20964-This-Week-In-Star-Citizen
Apparently there will be a trader mini event starting this Wednesday, with updated prices/commodity availability 😮
As Star Citizen continues to evolve, we will also be experimenting from time to time with smaller, time-limited changes to the ‘verse that do not require a full patch release. The first of these rolls out this Wednesday as Commodity Trade Boost. Due to recent increases in large-scale capital ship combat and their subsequent destruction, two vendors in the Stanton system have gained access to increased quantities of highly sought-after resources, including Atlasium. While they may be selling it with a suitable markup, these vendors are also interested in purchasing several other resources above traditional market prices, at least until they have what they need.
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
The cadence of wipes has drastically been reduced. There's a lot of rampant speculation about another one coming up but probably not until they fix more important underlying exploits. If you're just getting started, I wouldn't think much about the wipes since it's more important to learn about the systems and expand your knowledge base overall. Don't get too invested in the ships you acquire in game. But likely still many weeks until a wipe; maybe months. Truth is nobody knows so it's not really something you can plan for or mitigate.
Mannn I just want salvage prices to go up a bit, If they do that. I'd be very happy
What are the best guns to install on a vulture to help with blasting shields, powering down generators, breaking in doors etc on abandoned ships?
Attritions. I wouldn't worry about shutting down powerplants using your guns, thatll take somewhere between awhile and forever depending on what ship you're shooting, instead just use the guns to open a door so you can go inside and turn it off there
Attritions are better than havocs in your opinion?
Yeah. Attritions never run out of ammo, and they're more consistent
Does this mean they've noticed all the capital ships i see everywhere?
Am I right? If I wanted to run a trade route and SC Trade Tools is telling me to go to a Mining Facilty on a planet--I can only use ships that can fit on that little PB landing pad right? I tried to do one last night with a Cat; and I landed on the large pad where I usually do freight elevator stuff--the trading console didn't see the Cat at all.
or am I wrong that for those facilities I can trade but its to freight elevator and self loading, not auto loading?
Self loading at outposts, no auto load
You can only auto load at places where your ship can be stored
TY!
For SC Trade Tools, if you only want to trade with auto loading, you can set the minimum security to "hangar" in the location filters 😄
any ideas on why i cant get the main list to work in the reclaimer so i can access salvaging and cargo bay
TDD not working in lov. does not see caro on raft
Tbh the RAFT is so easy to unload I'd just do it manually and sell from storage
Any ideas when the new fungus trade event starts??
after the patch
13 years, the cargo boxes still drop through the floor, *sigh
It starts TODAY. it ENDS when the patch releases. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/pricing-surge/8596572
hard to be excited about this event with the economy as it is
where are the best new routes
Anyone doing solo life on a Polaris? I was talking in CCU about using it as a carrier for a golem, salvation and an ox. Has anyone done this? How did it go, what's good, what's bad?
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
*for the current patch, not the current special event
so not for what I was asking for
Well the event is to buy the in-demand commodities and sell it at Brio and Delvin, so SC Trade Tools can tell you where to find a good seller 🙂
I'm expecting supply will run low on every close shop, so the optimal route will change quite often.
I have extensive experience with the Polaris, but I'm never solo!
For the current state of the game, the Polaris definitely works as a carrier, although it's debatable whether that kind of gameplay is efficient.. Since the Polaris is quite slow, and it takes a very long time compared to smaller ships to actually get on and off! Add in the extra time of running to the hangar, opening the top hatch whenever you want to "undock" one of your carried ships, and it adds significant chunks of time to your gameplay!
I literally timed runs for the Polaris vs a Zeus CL (optimized with fast A-class quantum drive).
At NB Hangar, from hangar elevator entrance to pilot seat using most efficient path:
Zeus CL - 36 seconds
Polaris - 97 seconds
At NB Hangar, from landed engine start (already in pilot seat) to successfully landing in hangar (Zeus) or docking (Polaris) at Pyro Gateway:
Zeus CL - 5 minutes 39 seconds
Polaris - 7 minutes to 8 minutes 30 seconds depending on how skilled you are at docking
Also, you're always at risk of CIG fulfilling their original promise on capital ships - for them to have high running costs (fuel, wear and tear, etc).. CIG never designed the Polaris to be a solo mobile base, so you have to keep that in the back of your mind as we move closer to 1.0! It's hard to predict what CIG will do, but their intention was never for the Polaris to be effective as a solo carrier..
Perhaps the Ironclad Assault will be a better choice for what you want to do! It will still be quite large for a solo player, but it can do carrier stuff nearly or as well as a Polaris, plus have a safer buffer against CIG making capitals super expensive to run eventually! And it's quite a bit cheaper in terms of store price!
CIG's statement on Polaris for non-combat use!
This is the best and most helpful answer I've gotten so far (not saying the others weren't helpful) but the level of detail... Thanks so much I already have an ironclad pledged and was debating ccu'ing it to a Polaris. I think I'll keep it
You're super welcome! 🧡
Another thing to keep in mind!
The Ironclad Assault I believe has repair/rearm facilities for vehicles and spacecraft!
So it is probably a step up from the regular Ironclad for carrier-based gameplay!
At the cost of cargo space and some fancy internal tractor beams..
I was just thinking the regular may have more room for an extra ship or something like a nursa
That's possible.. Although the ability to rearm ammo/missiles, refuel, and repair could be more useful.. It's up to you!
I'm not sure how the lost space is used on the Ironclad Assault honestly!
If you actually enjoy hauling / cargo stuff, the regular Ironclad is definitely preferable!
I'm worried about 2 things, does the assault rod still open? Does the repair/rear apply to only ground vehicles or doors it include ships? You wouldn't happen to know would you?
The wiki says:
Also it has a fabricator for making ammo, vehicle components, and other useful things, which could be very useful for carrier gameplay too!
What do you mean by assault rod?
Do you mean roof? If so, yes!
From the official CIG Q&A!
sorry roof
if thats the case that might be worth it, i cant get the ccu yet anyways so i suppose i can look at it when it releases and get it maybe as a warbond ccu
Yup, maybe you'll have another chance before release.. We'll see!
on another note is the game down? i just tried to log in and my only option is go back or characher customization
I have no idea, I haven't logged on today yet!
https://status.robertsspaceindustries.com/ Looks green!
We continuously monitor the status of our services and if there are any interruptions, a note will be posted here.
strange, char repair fixed it
Hmm, I haven't experienced that one before.. Glad you got it figured out though!
Time for bed, good night! Feel free to ping me on any questions if you have more! 🧡
thanks
fwiw, rsi status has been green 100% of the time since I started playing last month, even when servers have been completely doa. I've got better info from down detector:
https://downdetector.com/status/star-citizen/
Interesting, thanks!
Are the sensors on the Zeus es that much better than say the Asgard, a cargo ship or the vulture? I was thinking of searching planet side for wrecks and than if I find something good I can qt back to it with a hauler
where should i sell my salvage?
Is there some trick to getting components out of their little closets when scavenging? it keeps trying to snap back in
Unlock ports from the ship's pilot chair (F-menu "unlock Ports" or "RightAlt + K")
Pull, as much as possible, in the direction of the arrow that appears when you engage the tractor beam. That's the "pull this way to detach" arrow.
Maybe you already know this. I've never had your issue.
When I try to pull, things tend to get stuck or wedged in the space for them. most of the time I can eventually wiggle them loose.
remember you can use R button with mouse and mouse wheel to rotate the object when you're tractoring (:
Is your salvage refined?
can you refuel the HullC in space ? without landing ? somehow ?
yes, if you dock to a station you have the option to refuel/repair/rearm, just like in a hangar
where do i sell RMC? it isnt showing up in the TDD
you have to refine rmc?
No
thats good to know lol where can i sell rmc tho? its not showing up in the TDD
Did you check UEX?
thanks
If you want the exact detail, the Zeus ES's radar range is..
5.26% longer range than Asgard and 18.7% longer than Vulture for EM/IR sigs!
11.1% longer than Asgard and 25% longer than Vulture for CS sigs!
That means if a Vulture would detect a wreck (CS sig probably) at 10km, the Zeus ES would detect it at 12.5km!
All that is subject to change though, since what we have is a placeholder.. Eventually CIG will rework scanning/radars/exploration to be totally different!
Little note for haulers, the Caterpillar can't take off when fully loaded without using boost, and can't maintain level altitude without boost. Found out about this from a Reddit post and tested it out earlier. And then made an IC for it.
Can't buy a Salvation in-game yet?
pretty sure you can't
anyone got a fix for the reclaimer undock bug?
Sometimes you can wiggle them through the hill than Eva to go grab them
Thx
No problem!
So I think the es could be good for scavenging components. I need to find a good way to leave way points to wrecks though, can you qt to something small like an atls or drsgonfly
I've heard you can, yes! People leave things to make bookmarks!
are the asteroids in pyro more valuable?
for mining? no, not really, stuff is well distributed
I was going to do some hauling with the Polaris and could not release from the docking arm...
No 😅, but if you put out landing gear or activate VTOL you can escape, if it's the bug you're talking about
It's tricky and sometimes dangerous, but that the claimer life, became the danger...
Are there still contracts to gather harvestables?
Yeah it’s the bug lol
You can just dock on a big station (with XL hangars) and claim the ship. When you'll retrieve it, it'll be in a hangar
claiming it is the thing I was trying to avoid because of the massive timer
And for refuel and repair in little station you can just land on a pad
anyone else having issue with mining where the optimal and overcharge rings wont load
When you dock and store ship you have no timer
yeah but if you pull it back out it’s still docked
I've used the wrong word that's no claim but store sorry
No, if you do it in station with XL hangars
No problem
tried it at nyx gateway and it still stayed docked
I do that every day on Levski or ruin station
which stations have XL
Yes that a little station
You can have the information when you choose the station on the starmap you have the commodities with icons like refueling XL hangars ect
oh nice
(sorry for my broken English btw lol)
I’ll take a look - ideally it would be a station with a refinery
Levski mate
your English is better than some native English speakers I know :p
You have all of it
yeah but there’s no salvage contracts in Nyx yet
oooh please do
I make a loop, start from Levski go to gateways (Stanton or pyro)
Scan the zone
There is always abandoned ships
hm will try that again, i usually don't have luck
If there nothing go levski you'll jump out approximately at 50km from the station scan again
If there nothing go other gateway
Ect ect
will give that a try
vtol and landing gear doesn't work, guess i'mma have to claim it
Try Alt + N
To contact the station
And ask for a take off
Maybe mobiglas -> contact -> station landing services
Or keep push N and go forward
tried that, i think i also called from MFD
engines won't move the ship
i think it's bugged bugged 💀
yeah everytime i've had this before i could move and detach
this time engines aren't responsive
ah well headed to levski so i can claim it at an xl
Yup it will
Levski - Stanton gateway (scan All around near the gate) - Levski scan again - Pyro gateway same, and repeat. If there nothing bedlog change server
hopefully this is a good channel to ask, but: Is the Hull-C usable yet? I remember there being a lot of bugs that render it unusable. Haven't played in a couple years, wondering if I should give it a shot again or not.
From what I hear in global, the auto loading works 80% of the time, 54% of the time. Jokes aside, I see a lot of people still using it in global, but as a general statement I would say be prepared mentally for the possibility of having to manually load the ship.
Understandable. I will probably melt it down for something else then. I am patient, but not THAT patient.
Only complaint I see regularly is the having to manually load it on occasion, or manually unload it. Not sure what other bugs existed in previous states.
I just remember having to fly it inside a cube and sit perfectly still or you get crimestat for holding up traffic or something. And it would never load correctly and then you go to unload, and the same thing would happen, or you would never be able to call in for a space to unload everything. It was weird
Yeah, I don't hear anyone complain about that stuff, so I could hazard a guess that you're fine in those regards.
was sitting in my reclaimer, minding my business, waiting for hanger to open and it blinked out of existance and i fell 🙁
my hull C is in my large hanger in extended mode, i got in and tried to fly, not working
i tried storing it and recall, still extended, not working
what do i do ?
mine worked for like 8 trips (tressler/everus), loading, unloading
then i tried to dock and refuel and it exploded, soo ....
stll needs workarounds: turn engine off/on, wiggle joystick a little, assing parking brake button in keybinds and on/off, coupled mode, get out of seat, ... but then it works, most of the time, every time ...
Cargo mixing works now
PS: listen to the voice of the lady on comms, no matter what your progess bar says, when she says on comms "finished" then it's finished
if you can't get it to retract its spindles, I think you're going to have to self-destruct it and claim a new one
after storing it a third time it got eaten by the elevator and exploded ❤️
getting a new one in 15 min 🙂
Well, I'm glad it worked out in the end lol
Asking the Stanton Hauling peeps, what route do you use ?
Tressler->Everus->Tressler seems good and fast, just 1 contract at a time (2 overall)
Baijini->Serap->Everus->Tressler-(empty)->Baijini seems like a lot of hassle but more money ?
PS: Covalex Shipping, Experienced
If you're buying your cargo, that's commodity trading. Hauling are hauling missions these days. I don't really do commodity trading, so I don't really have any routes.
Hauling missions could potentially fill in some blanks, but higher level missions are locked behind reputation
Coralex contracts, i am on
Where is the best place to take a reclaimer to take out CMAT?
(Stanton salvaging)
Near the gateways
There is always abandoned ships
Or maybe you want sell your Cmat ?
Specifically dropping off for refining since none of the refineries have XL hangars.
I would say loreville
But I'm not a Stanton expert
The best place for claimers is Levski
(for me btw)
hI! its been a whilse since my last game, is there anythign new for salvage? what about the % of salvage on the reclaimer, did theyy chanbge it or we still get 15% after refning?
The Reclaimer can dock at any Stanton station, so you can go where you want to as long as it has a refinery.
But a refinery will only see boxes that are on the cargo grid
Oh, and you need to store the ship after docking.
Terra gateway since it has external cargo elevators, a refinery and they buy the refined cmats. You can use Pyro or the Nyx gateway but I picked Terra because of the limited traffic. I suggest having a friend help offload since the boxes can easily fly off into space if you are not paying attention.
I think he would like to unload in a hangar
With the famous reclaimer's Poop hole unload
Thats no fun.
Trying to unload a Reclaimer in space is the last thing I'd want to do. If I had to unload it, I'd probably unload in my personal hangar, putting the boxes in a cargo elevator, swap ships, and load onto a cargo ship. But that's a lot of work to just avoid docking.
Ive helped other players countless times unload....and I dont require $.
In space is the easiest way to unload the reclaimer. Just trough the container out from the back on put them on to the elevator
Trying to unload a Reclaimer in space means risking someone else stealing it for one thing. Or potentially blowing it up. Or stealing the boxes. And while getting someone to help sounds like a good idea, if you don't know the person well, then you might end up getting "helped" by someone who actually intends to rip you off.
Pyro or nyx
@near swallowrefineries needs xl hangars
lack of those is what mainly pushed me off from salvaging its twice more work to load it to cargo ship
Not really. The Reclaimer can dock and then be stored. Then you refine the construction material on it. What is an issue is the Reclaimer's salvage hold cargo grid.
@near swallowwell grid is maybe 20% of what i load on my reclaimer booxes are everywhere lol otherwise its totally unprofitable
Assuming you have more boxes of construction material then will fit on the salvage hold cargo grid, you then have to retrieve the ship after doing one refinery order, go put more boxes on the grid, go do another refinery order, and repeat until done
but why not xl hangers at refineries they are meant to handle huge ships ....otherwise add refineries to some planet starports it would look sgreat for lorville to have refinery imho
In theory you could put stuff on the cargo grid in the cargo hold, but moving stuff there isn't so easy. The Reclaimer needs a major rework.
never widnest somone stealing my stuff its already rare to meet others, Unloading in space is supert fast and defenitly worth it
I've had people try to steal my stuff and steal my ship.
@wet moat dont think so doesnt ur boxes fly away is ther egravity?
In Armistice
You have crappy friends then.
They weren't friends
They were strangers who were at the same location at the same time
yeh and u cant do shit in armisitice to stop em from picking ur stuff
@random patrol external elevators have gravity?
Also, smaller refinery jobs mean they finish quicker
I had a friend outside stacking the boxes.....he even had me slow down because I was dropping them out so fast
If you have someone you can trust to play with, then you have more options
@random patrol well i wondered we talked bout solo reclaimer yea with crew it would work solo is useless
Not everyone has anyone they can trust who plays SC
Yeah well its part of the game....youre more then welcome to add me and ill help 100%
I dont need the $ either....I just like playing
@random patrol yep but we should have option to do this relatively safe solo
I don't really need help with that particular thing, I don't fill my Reclaimer up like other people do
@random patrol and meant to land at refinery hangers...
What "refinery" hangars are there besides Pyro and Nyx?
its what i am talking about Stanton need XL hangers at least on some refineries or planetary refineries
Well this is what we have right now....so you either work with whats out there...or you dont.
otherwise u have twice more work for same money
The Reclaimer was actually meant to cut ships up into pieces and, it seems, store the pieces underneath the salvage hold until they were going to be processed. The Reclaimer was concepted before they had a good idea how they were going to do salvage gameplay.
TBH the addition of the external cargo elevators changed a lot for me
That rear hatch that people use to unload the Reclaimer is actually the salvage lift, and is meant to run on rails on the bottom of the Reclaimer. But like many other features, it doesn't fully function.
Whatever the Reclaimer was meant to be...its not that way now....so we use it...or we dont. Its pretty simple
@random patrol external pad/elevator should raise forcefield cage when used so u can safely load/unload
it already bond elevator for u so why not forcefield?
Yeah and the roads should be paved with gold...
imho its just idiotic so such factories operating huge resource amounts like refineries do not have xl hangers
What station in stanton has XL hangars?
all a pirate needs to do is to sneak patiently till you load your boxes on the external elevator, then simply push the down button, and all you hardwork is now mine! ,.., 🦹♂️
Technically I think there was one that had one on it's model, but it wasn't functional. Somewhere out around Microtech.
@olive gull nope elevator is bound to person landed at pad from what i heard
Doesnt work....we tried it.
Pirate Sad tears 😭
It gives them an error
At outposts at least, multiple can land on a pad at once. And I've used an elevator when my ship was not on the pad, because there was no room.
And someone tried to steal my cargo.
@near swallow on outpost its bound to person who raised it iirc
its why they are often blocked with error if someone left something on elevator
yeah its not FFA at the terminals....it would be more chaos
anyway how salvage works now when ships tend to blow up not softkill? only contracts?
There are plenty of abandoned ships around. Scan them, if they're owned by GameRules, it's free for the taking.
Even if they arent GameRules
If they aren't owned by GameRules, then you can get CS
mhmh ,wonder how ppl now get ace helmets if ships explode lol
It depends whether they are online and press charges
You get the "tresspassing" warning but thats about it
if pilot is online there is no gamerules tag iirc
Ive never had them come back but it could happen
An abandoned ship becomes owned by GameRules if you put a claim on it
The vulture had a full load of RMC.....so I cam back with my ox and took it all
So, any ship that you have left out somewhere (say, possibly damaged) and do an insurance claim on, the old copy becomes owned by GameRules and is locked to you.
Locked as in, the doors won't respond to you trying to open them. Same for anyone else.
If you want to get in, you have to shoot your way in, if the doors are closed.
I once had to shoot my way into my own former ship, because I died inside the ship when trying to swap undersuits. And I was trying to swap undersuits because I'd retrieved my corpse from an accidental wreck and wanted to swap out the beacon suit. (This was a while ago.) But swapping undersuits was fatal for some reason.
Taking my helmet off was fine. But not the undersuit.
Places like Brios used to be, and may still be, good places to find abandoned/wrecked ships for salvage. But they're also risky.
where's brios, pyro?
Stanton, Daymar IIRC
oh
Brio's Breaker Yard, a salvage yard on Daymar. Used to be a place people went to sell weevil eggs.
Which used to be available as cargo from certain missions, like (I think) VHRTs.
Or actually ERTS
And apparently right now it's a place to buy Atlasium.
One of only two places in Stanton where Atlasium is available.
And if the comm array are activated or not
As an industrial player, if I see that a comm array is down, I'd either stay within hard armistice, or get the heck out of there.
Same job but different style. I spend all my time between Pyro or Nyx, I avoid every armistice zone, and crimestat system. It's not good for salvaging 😉
Sometimes you got to run ! 🤣
If I'd wanted to, I could probably have salvaged an abandoned Hammerhead along with a bunch of other ships at a Stanton Lagrange point station I was at yesterday. With the station nearby and comm array up.
The ships were not within the station's soft Armistice area.
Talking about that, battlefield salvage mission still exist in Stanton ? Few years ago in unverified salvage mission you could take it for 200k fee and it gave you the localisation of a space battle remains full of wrecks and cargo. The trick was when you took it, another player could also have it in pvp mission.
I have no idea about that. I tend to stick to legal missions. And I figure the old Hammerhead mission, where people would just fracture and grab the construction materials and then do another one, is why we now have to refine construction material before we can sell it.
Yeah that's what I call "Street salvage mission" scrap'n'run 🤣
I never done legal mission btw
20k fees for a constellation no thanks
The fees have gone down
There plenty ships leaven alone around the verse for free
I made almost a million aUEC salvaging 1 C2. Because of it's cargo.
Granted, I ended up bringing my C2 there to unload the thing.
Nice
When I was at Ruinstation, I was doing "the Pyro Crab" technic, with a SRV I towed some ships or cargo leaving alone around the station and grab them into my hangar. I made lot of creds with a full egg Hull C who has been destroy in front of the station.
It was long to take the crates but it was worth it
That's why I don't like armistice zone
A question, I heard a rumour, that the mole is broken this patch, as ind you can't change the mining head on it. Any use the mole who can confirm?
that was previous patch I thought
Changing the head/modules when the ship is stored works flawless. No idea about changing in the field though.
Can u auto unload your salvage or manual. I'm a few patches behind
is commodity trading still broke in 4.5?
grimhex
In the 6 months ive been playing sc I can honestly say ive never been to grim hex...nor do I need to go there.
Anyone here a proficient quant miner, im honestly struggling to crack these rocks with windows no thicker than a hair
The bigger ones need a gadget. You using a Mole?
Yeah current setup is a mole with helix 2, double surge, c3, 2nd laser is klein, 3rd is hofstede
Using sabir on the big rocks
It's just the instability is insane with how small these windows are for optimal
I keep popping them slightly overloaded and loosing tons of quant
Trying to learn so I can teach the rest of my org how to mine it, we're currently going for Idris but with only me doing mining ATM it's very slow
I've managed like, 30scu in 2 days casually
I need 1200 haha
How good is SC trade tool for finding trade routes, like is it often that where they recommend actually doesn't have much supply or is it reliable?
I suggest using UEX and check how long ago the data was updated.
Also, I am at rustville but I can't find the trading post, any idea where it is?
It's decent. The biggest thing to remember is that it won't show you all of the trade routes possible, just maybe the top 12 or so. So you have to play with the filters a lot to see other options. Supply is hit or miss for sure, even if it was up to date 5 minutes ago, someone may have bought it all since then. Keep in mind supply is (I believe) regional, so you are competing with people on other servers for it.
Well it took me around an hour, but I resorted to scouring the internet to find a YouTube video with only a couple hundred views which shows where it is🤣🤣
If you find yourself travelling poorly-supplied routes, you can always try a higher number in the filters, misc, extended view, min inventory capacity.
You'll have to turn off smart filters as it already tries to make a guess of that value 🙂
The highest paying routes are likely to be the ones most used. Those websites do not get realtime info from the game, and commodity stocks are not shared across the whole game, just by region, so stock info isn't really that useful. Going for routes that aren't quite as profitable would be the most likely way to avoid shortages, or to use sources that have a high stock limit on a commodity.
sometimes you get lucky though. Last night I bought 48 Degnous Root at Shepherd's Rest in one go
I'm a little amazed you got into and out of that location intact, from what I've heard it's a major murderhobo spot due to it being used in a starter hauling mission.
it can be. I haven't been there in months, and I remember it being super hot last spring, basically couldn't go there without getting into a fight. There were a couple other people there, but all was peaceful.
I didn't go there planning to trade, I actually grabbed an interstellar haul that went to Sunset Mesa and Shepherd's, figured why not, what's the worst that could happen. It went smooth enough, so I checked the commodity kiosk and it had full stock
Pretty much every time I went to a planetary POI in Pyro, I got attacked if not killed
I don't go to Pyro anymore if I can help it
If your Pyro experience was all last spring when it was new, give it another try. In my experience people have chilled out a little, plus there are more areas now that are a bit more "PVP encouraged" (Hathor, Lazarus), so it takes the pressure off of the random POIs
not that I spend a ton of time there, but it does feel a little different than it did early on
The only thing that would make me even want to go to Pyro, would be Wikelo stuff. But that of course is all going to be at PvP hotspots, and is apparently mostly intended for large groups, even though the rewards don't scale.
CIG seems to really be pushing PvP as hard as they can. Even this little "price surge" event is intended to create PvP encounters, what with the two locations where you can buy the rare commodity being the scrapyards, which are PvP locations.
Not to mention the OP Boomtube that can one-shot even an Asgard apparently.
this is gonna be fun
You say that like it's a bad thing. There's tons of PVE content in the game. Probably 100+ mercenary missions, hauling missions for days, salvage and mining, Onyx and QV facilities that they did their best to make PVE by putting in so many of them to simulate instancing before that tech was in the game, etc. Most of the events are mostly / all PVE as well. The fact that there is an event going on that encourages PVP is probably WHY I was able to get in and out of Shepherd's Rest last night... Just like when the local drag strip closes down and all of a sudden there's more street racing, PVPer's gonna PVP. Give them an outlet for it and you are probably going to see less "griefing" in the game.
The events are generally PvP fests, even when it's supposedly an event about hauling
You don't get more rewards when you have more people playing, so that encourages competition rather then cooperation.
And hauling mission variety is not that great when trying to raise your rank, probably because lots of people are taking them and they're not refreshing fast enough. I've had a hard time finding any hauling missions worth doing.
I cannot think of an event in the last year that was a "PVP fest". Supply or Die had a PVP option that you could do in the deteratrine or whatever it was, I never tried it. I completed all four tracks of Resource Drive and never saw a single bit of PVP, and I never saw any in any of the other events last year either that I can remember.
In Supply or Die you could kill other people, steal the commodities they bought/collected, and then submit them. I got killed a couple times during that.
Granted not when I had a full load of good stuff
You could. It never happened to me but yes it could.
There was a lot of PvP going around during that
OK, that's one example. Where's the others. If the events are "generally" a PVP Fest, that means "most of the events are", and I would argue they "mostly aren't"
Align and Mine, people competing over the ore
