Got 1184 scu Cmat salvage + unloading in about 3 hours thats about 1,7 mill + 1 Hour of transport to bring the stuff to a selling point
Thx @random patrol you tip to turn off the weapons realy helpt. I havent had a crash since doing it
Hopefully it wont be an issue after 4.5 but ill still turn mine off regardless.
32h till refining is done. I hope it gets thro xD
Hopefully itll make it on time. Where did you take it?
Nyx gate way. I couldnt unload at Pyro gatway (Both in Stanton)
Max lift didnt work?
Armistic zone blocked it
Yeah its 50/50 on that for some reason.....I dont know why
maybe its your proximity to the cargo elevator....who knows
Idk, I never had this bug on Nyx gate way and never at levski. only at the HUL stations and Pyro gatway
Any word if the reclaimer refining percentage will be fixed in 4.5?
so far it doesnt say anything in the notes
Cig mentioned and update in pricing for mining and salvage
So hopefully
🤞 thanks.
Top spots for quant mining?
Just finished getting 400 scu of CS in 3 batches in the refinery. Used a Carrick took 2 hours 35 minutes to complete from Orison. Never again it was hell. Mostly size 16 crates. Edit, The raw ore terminal did not see them...
Is there a cargo command for #🤖┃bot_commands that shows cargo grid reference sheets?
there is a pinned post that has a link to a site, dont think there is anything else
wow nice, IO didint see that info, hopefully they fix the %
Has there been any official statements that per cent is backwards?
On the issue council
Last night I experimented with loading 20 size 16 scu crates of Construction Salvage into the side cargo bays of the Carrack.
I had to get this to the Refinery asap and well this was a difficult loading job and took 1 hour 35 minutes to get 18 into the side bays and 2 in the garage area of the ship.
The main hang up for easier loading is your position is lower than the lip of the door that folds down. So maybe a Nomad could be used in the hanger to grab the crates or if we had a scissors lift in the game.
I also had to go inside the catwalk and even down in the cargo hold to manipulate these crates. I had heavy armor on and while working in the little elevator lift my avatar totally stopped working. None of the number keys did anything so I took off some of the armor still didn't help repair the number key functions only an Alt F4 relog fixed it.
Unloading was faster only an hour extra and I divided the crates into 3 refinery jobs of 14, 18 and 21 hours.
I hope they give the door hinges a second pass and make them lower down about 2 feet further may really help out. What do you think? What tips do you have? Thanks!!
Ok sounds good!!
So what do these new refining changes do?
Did I read correctly that it effectively nerfed refining?
Less output but increased sale prices. Sounds better to me
Yeah I'd say this is a marked improvement. Saw this in another discord from RC2 4.5 at area 18.
85.3k per scu
Ya, unless you are doing something like quant mining for Wikelo parts
Literally everyone I've talked to said this was a bad change
Just hit yo a few other discords
The price increase doesn't out way the loss in refinement
They effectively nerfed mining..... Again
You're getting more $ for less materials
25 scu of quant refined at old price = 722,181
25 scu of quant at new price = 960,626
And yes I know Polaris bits are going for at least 400m per on the marketplace
I honestly just wish they'd get rid of a lot of Wikelo stuff or not make it as irritating
Because even with an entire org working on it for over a week, we only have like 25% of the shit needed
That seems reasonable for the largest ship current in-game.
Fellow Hull C'ers , what missions are you guys doing rn?
Interstellar isnt worth it for 150k flying from stanton to pyro...
Funny to me how much everyone bitches about wikelo, yet the same people will be excited for crafting. Wikelo IS crafting
I only hate it for the extra steps and unreliability
I bet there will be bugs where the crafting machine eats your materials too. What extra steps? Having to craft favors and then turn them in for something else? That's a pretty standard crafting mechanic that a lot of games (and hell, real life) uses.
wikelo is mostly cosmetics and it needs a few more QOL passes but it's better than it used to be lol
The bugs do suck though, I feel for the people turning in huge amounts of stuff and getting nothing
my group just spammed the worm and sold those parts to buy the rest
we didn't do a polaris tho lol
did they ever fix pure carinite or is it still a nightmare
All that work...just pay the 600+ for the ship
Or... Play the game?
It should be more compartmentalized, and not tied to the notoriously buggy mission system, at least i would hope. I'm sure there will be bugs, but it should hopefully be designed more robust and to mitigate the chances of loss.
Hopefully CIG has learned from the experience thus far, but we'll see
i want to kill wikelo but nice to see them put out a test for crafting so they can figure out the most annoying/impactful bugs first
Hi all, I recently accepted the contract "Cargo Hauling Opportunity with Ling Hauling" which rewards 222,250 aUEC.
It was to pick up Stims, Distilled Spirits, Food and Souvenirs.
I had picked up from 2/4 locations, and whilst collecting the Souvenirs from, I think a comms array near Crusader, it's not a landmark station as seen on a map.
Alas, whilst there, I am unsure if other players shot at me first as I landed (with hand wepeons), but I shot back. But it appears NPC were shooting at me as I shot and killed about 5 with no crimestat. I eventually got shot and died meaning I was unable to complete the mission. Is this normal, as the mission didn't provide a risk of death. And why no crime stat for shooting and killing what could have been NPC's at a station? also, why was I shot at to start with?
Does anyone know the meta commodity to trade currently?
It wouldn't take you to a comm array, but possibly took you to the OLP station around Daymar? Does that sound right?
where you can buy the big hand salvage tool?
nearly every shop in cargo and refinery areas of the stations
Is there a space station with a refinery and a loading dock to unload from the Reclaimer?
i think? terra station has external freight you can unload the reclaimer onto
Any gateway station and a few others. Learn to click on the locations on the StarMap to see what services their offer, and use verseguide.com
I'm looking for something in the stanton system so I guess pyro gateway will work then?
Don't ask me again, use the fantastic resources you just learned about.
yep I've been researching it thank you
Do the hull c hauling contracts not show up if you don't have a hull c? I was able to take some during iae when I rented a hull c
How is refinery output rounding? Rounding up or down all the time to nearest scu? This change magnifies that effect. Or is it up for >=.5 and down for <.5?
Iirc, it always rounds up
They increased the spawn rate back in September or October so it's not a myth any more 😅
If I keep my gold in the local inventory will I lose it in the next patch?
yes. commodities and consumables are always lost
well, most of them. Gems seem to be one exception
Some people manage to keep commodities between patches, no idea how. I'm curious to see if the patch will wipe all my cryopods.
the RNG giveth and the RNG taketh away
Fr but is the mole still bugged? Last time I checked I couldn’t change the mining heads
It is on 4.4, rumor says it is not on 4.5.
Thank goodness
always up
There are no more hull c missions
Did they go away after iae? I know they existed then
CIG are killing the hull C
They did not exist during IAE. Have been removed in 4.4
I did something with a rented hull C where it auto loaded with the box thing
You can stil ldo that with any hauling contract
oh ok
it's just that the contracts that are designed for hull c and paid well are gone
hey guys. ive been having some bad luck with hauling contracts recently and I'm curious if you all can help me with which contracts to avoid due to bugs?
a few times recently I've done pickup/dropoff contracts and when I lower the Freight Elevator, the contract completion seems to work but then half the supplies don't register in my mobiglass contract screen
I'm currently running Junior contracts trying to level up rep quickly
I didnt do savlage in 4.4, what was broken?
the % after refining, the numbers are backward, in the reclaimer for example you should get 85% of total refined material but you get 15% of total instead
so if you refine 100 scu you get only 15 scu refined salvage
To refine scrap do you have to take it to stations or can the reclaimer refine material on board?
for noe you need to send it to the stations
I guess the refinery if it still going to be it will be added for the reclaimer rework
howlky cow
now with the reclaimer you can just dock at the station and refine from the cargo grid
so just by docking and having the cargo on the grid you can just refine from there (I need to test it but I saw a youtuber do it)
sadly it seems the % its still wrong
Did 4.5 fix the construction materials refining so you get 85% instead of just 15%?
Didn’t seem so so far for what I saw the refinery panel on a YouTube video about the update
I’m not home to test it
Our Mole lasers are switchable now yeah?
Pay attention for the names of the materials.
Calculate the scu you need to deliver vs what they give you at the start of delivery.
If you want fun, I would stick to most random locations.
If you want to grind rep/money.
Stick to missions that go from orbital station to the planet big city and what goes from planet big city to orbital station.
If you grind rep - do maximum rep mission available(massive difference)
If you want to grind money - stick to what takes less time to fly/dock. Most time consuming is not moving boxes, but actually to land/queue for hangar/fly somewhere.
In the end, it is fun per hour isnt it?
Ugh. There aren't any surge modules at the Pyro gateway in Stanton. Boo
eeeh the hull series ships are hideous to me and I don't enjoy using or looking at them. The self loading doesn't have the appeal of stacking boxes and restriction of only going to samey space stations with it kills any potential joy of discovering locations and seeing planets/moons. Not to mention that stacking missions with the auto loading is problematic and annoying. I'm struggling to find any reason to pull my hull C out these days as there is almost no joy left in it and no real money to be made that can't be made better by other means or even other hauling. Trading might be good but again you are heavily restricted where you can trade with it so eeh. I'm just glad I never managed to convinced myself to pledge of one of the hull abominations and just have a loaner.
I would gladly enjoy having a hull c at:
1.Hovering above a planet site(for example mining facility), and I deliver boxes from it to the ground or reverse.
2. Having hull C floating around while we do scrapping, so there is a lot of space to keep scraping.
3. Having hull C picking up big ship components/pirate boxes from pirate stations that are inside asteroids.
4. Having hull C fly around orison platforms to deliver cargo from one place to another.
5. I would gladly play as hauler, to move boxes from your hull C to the station exterior space elevator, flying in a small ship with tractor beam or in suit. Or stand on landing platform with atls and just scoop them from hull C as you rotate.
6. I would gladly have hull C holding empty sacks for mining and swap them around for people that mine nonstop, while we organise all that mined material around unfolded platforms, an when they return we swap their sacks. Or give them different mining equipment because of different rock they have found.
7. I would gladly deliver A2 bombs strapped to Hull C to the place where active war operation happen that they bomb the place, so I have to restock A2's on the orbit, and they come and go.
8. I would gladly do chain mission with you, where I have to protect your ship from pirates that only shoot distruption weapons to steal your ship/cargo and by no means harm it. They intercept us in quantum for example, or when you about to deliver to rival gang, they attack their asteroid base.
9. I would gladly haul unstable commodity with you for several days flying only on hydrogen fuel because we cant use quantum jumps. Sleep on board, use beds to log off together, cooking, managing supplies, deal with space insanity or being intercepted, try to negotiate players to come help us to save from npc pirates, hold corridor for hours untill people come to save us, being grappled by their surv and pulled away to their station..
Hull C can be fun
It could be. It isn't.
Where do you get the Rieger C3s? Struggling
Levksy
ahhh of courseeee. Ta
They never officially acknowledged that it wasn't supposed to be 15% by design. They just passed the issue to the relevant team to figure out and I don't think we've heard anything about it yet.
They are all in levski
Yeah - zooming off 🙂
@rose goblet I suggest using uex to search for items and mining components.
With the new patch items need to be updated and that takes a little bit. As a datarunner I know its time consuming
Considering this post. I don't think the 15% were a Bug.
I really think they just didn't rise the market value enough
This patch they are supposed to have adjusted it
Smaller refining results, but increased prices
I've got a headache so this post isn't sinking in properly. Are they implying that rarer materials will be capped to smaller box sizes?
Quant is only minable in Stanton right?
Pyro also
Or at least smaller refined sizes, so easier for smaller ships to transport
Ie 1000scu of rare refines to 1. 1000scu of common refines to 500
But value is same of 1 and 500
Yeah I got the bit that they are shrinking yields but ye.. I'll reread it later
What's the fastest component shopping ship? I need to wizz around and grab components and bring them back.. thinking like a c1 but not sure if there is a faster ship for it
all ships of the same size are more or less the same speed, as it's all based on the size (and grade of course) of the quantum drive. Fuel tank size might matter, but again, they tend to be pretty similar. Bigger ships = faster in quantum though
So they said commodities got increased in price, does anyone know how much they went up by?
I suggest you check UEX for specific commodities and their price changes.
Too soon probably
Go shopping and check for us
At levski doesn't look much different. Cm 8k
so nobody knows anything about this?
If you look at UEX the prices are actively being updated.
At least in stanton
Hopefully they add a in game market board some day
Someone says docking refining works at least. From reclaimer
if im roc mining what would the go to materials to go for??
FEYNMALINE
Are you willing to go to Pyro?
Staton and pyro both have it but pyros the planets have a higher possiblilitiy to find hit
yes i am settin spawn in pyro
than go to ignis
The best plenat in Stanton has 50% but ignis 100% posibility to find Feynmaline
ok an does it need to be refined or anythign like that?
and because its been so long since ive roc mined can i transfer the materials to a bigger box or am i limited to the storage or the roc or the ship im using
No you can sell directly
But beware that you may cant sell every thing at one place
The best paying places mostly take only 100 or 200 crystals
ok an am i limited to just what storage the ship i use or the roc has or can i transfer it to another container
You can take multible container for the Roc with you
there any way to fix the mining laser on the roc? the laser isnt lining up with the crosshair and i cant see the fracture progress properly
0-8
Chance for 1 node mainly but you can get a second spawn and get 2. Rarely, you'll see a third and very rarely you might get multiple spawn per ore wave. Each node gives 2 pieces. Expect 0-2 per hole. You can expect 0-4 if you are lucky and re fire the laser.
Oh wait, are you talking pure carinite or regular carinite? You can get maybe 50-90 regular carinite I think. Usually on the lower end of that scale but I don't have my spreadsheet in front of my
*me
Did the Vulture ever create non-empty Cambio SRT canisters? Any way to fill a repair tool from the Vulture’s hopper instead of salvaging the hull like a barbarian?
is salvaging working? im in my fortune and its not letting me use my scrapping beam or the tractor beam
Are the shields off on whatever ship you're trying to salvage ?
And, are you in an armistice zone ? 🚫 sign in top left corner.
Tried mining with golem and got nothing when collecting
Broke rock fine, animation to harvest, shows scu scale, but nothing went into the golem
Power cycle and exit and reenter ship
👆
You should also power cycle and get out of your chair after switching Mole pods
Did CIG make it so with a Reclaimer we could dock with a station and refine the CM straight from the cargo grid that is full of CM?
yes
I need to test it but usspodeflt yu can just dock now in any station with refinery and from the refinery panel just refine from there
well Isn't that convenient
reclaimer solo ship xD
Only from docking or also stored? And does it only shows the grid or also the off grit container?
only grid, I know only docked, idk stored
stored should appear I think
At Cru l1 the timer did not start up to refine. glitched.
Hey guys i want to justr do some cargo hauling in polaris given that it has alot of scu i am just wondering how do i do something like that while at a space station because its docked how do i load cargo
you coud maybe try the exterior elevator that they added not so long time ago, but idk if the polaris maybe its too big for that
Ah fair enough
If it's only the grit. That makes it kind of you less
is selling quant to people actually worth 51 bill lmao?
apparently that person is willing to pay that price lol
I think people just want to spread their duped money and maybe hoard some marerials if they think they could be carried over to a release
Also I think quantanium is going to be main target when processing minig ship arrives
Ngl
I dont bother to do stuff
I wanna mine or salvage in style rather than to profit
what're some more reliable methods of making money when I only have access to a C1 and C2?
sell stuff to dupers
for example, compboard 5 worth about 5 billion right now
dunno what that is or how to get it, also I would prefer more legitimate means but I'll do that if I have to
granted, seeing as it will be wiped anyways due to bugs, I'm not as opposed to indulging as I normally would be
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1pqazc5/a_new_player_can_make_52_billion_auec_in_1_hr_now/ it's contested zone stuff
for legit most people would say stack small hauling contracts
"without glitches/cheats" seems generous when it is the direct result of a glitch/cheat
that would mean all trading is bad
I did try that but it felt even slower than interstellar? I'm not sure how to make it worth it at such low payouts for such high investment
when its taking advantage of the hyperinflated player economy born out of a bug? yea
wait, what investment
time investment of getting everything onboard, takes much longer with the small boxes of stellar and planetary missions
you can get auec without cheating o: what you do is get exploited money from other players simple :D stupid post
no evidence that it's ex
exploited money
maybe they sold armor for it
strange logic
check what the price was for the same thing in 4.3 and see if it looks unnaturally inflated, if it's more than 100x up, it's because of exploits.
mining laser on mole not firing at all. Was working earlier today.. any ideas?
fully powered and turned on
Bet one.of the 3 laser fire... happen to me yesterday. Middle laser decided to just not work
yeah side lasers are firing
I don't even..
I think I'm done this patch fr.. 4 crashes while trying to mine one patch of rocks and on the last reconnect I fall through my ship...
can I go back to ptu plz? That worked flawlessly.
Yeah not gonna lie mining last night was not enjoyable
Sound bug every other rock. Mining laser just deciding not to work, etc etc I was very sad
not even just mining at this point the crashes are relentless. Both vulkan and dx11. I don't know what else to do
Ive been salvaging in my reclaimer....no issues
I wanted to see if they had changed the 15% CMAT ordeal....and no it didnt change....it is still 15% refined
I wonder wtf they changed that now there is ton of sound bugs
Sounds has been there since last patch
Tbh it tends to only happen when I pop a active
If I use both surge and stampede I'm 100% getting sound bug
whats a good golem build?
If I buy a commodity from a ground mining facility, is there an auto-load option or do we always have to manually load the goods purchased. My ship isn’t showing up as an option. Just me and the location. I haven’t played since 4.0 was released.
Auto (un)load is only available with a stored ship.
So, if I buy and manually load it from a ground location and then fly to and store my ship at Orison, can I sell it from my stored ship in that scenario without manualy unloading into the hangar elevator?
Yes
Speaking of Cargo hauling, how do you load a ship fast? I find it extremely time consuming trying to load even a small amount of boxes.
I have a loaner Cat since I bought the Ironclad but I've never used it to haul cargo until today. After retreiving it for the first time and landing plantside without issues, I painstakingly load that thing with 240cu of Quartz. It was painful to load. I get in the cockpit to get my profit and the freaking ship has some sort of engineering error with a countdown from 160 seconds until it becomes critical and explodes. I run around the ship desperately looking for some engineering to manipulate but it explodes. One of my more disappointing moments in this game. I have no idea what happened to cause that.
So my hungover ass forgot my drunk ass fixed that last night. Need to go to your power and turn up power to laser. Not sure why it randomly decides it doesn't have enough power but that's the fix.
it had all the pips it could take
Well then idk. Engineering is funky
this is what I was saying, hence why I'm trying to find a better way to utilize my c2
Atlas
handheld tool has no range, atlas has a lot
Just noticed, if your Mole has quant in it and the timer is low, there's a red flashing light visible from outside
My refining jobs don't appear in the console when I hit "confirm" - any ideas?
Seems like a reasonable warning for people around given the lore Prospector that took down a Javelin by itself, going kamikaze with quantainium
Anyone else having refinery issues?
Arg, my Golem's work order was accepted, but the Mole was not, just drops me to the select again
Ok, taking off the pods and putting them in storage and refining from storage worked. Weird.
So the multitool with mining attachment has never worked for me. Until now, I really didnt think it was an issue. But for some reason all I get is a red X and it says module. This is with the mining attachment installed. It doesnt matter how many times I install and uninstall it, or how many I buy. Is there a keybind I am missing here?
shipping sucks beacuse you can be in the middle of 6 contracts and then you game crashes
Log back in. Should put you exactly where you were after a crash
contract progress appears to have reset
Boo. Usually doesn't, or shouldn't anyway. But that doesn't mean it works right
mhmm
unfortunate
is refining from a Mole broken? Two dif stations now, several dif methods tried - never starts the refining job. Can see ores in the ore kiosk though.
nvm, seems the Mole is just busted again =\
Can I mine solo in a rented mole?
is there a way to transfer cSCU boxes to regular SCU boxes? so im not having to move so much at a time
Yes
though I'm assuming you mean 1/8th SCU hand carryable boxes
no im referring to the atls geo boxs
same thing
should be able to put them into a bigger box in the FE or storage access terminal
oh ok cool thank you so very much
Quick question, how do you take a Hull C from a lagrange point refinery, and load it with said refined materials from the station inventory? I dont entirely know/understand how the Hull C's auto loading works
manually via external FE
Wdym
Like, box by box? By hand?
Surely not man
thats fuckin 4000 scu
theres no way to utilize the auto loading mechanic?
divide by 32 that's ~125 boxes
you'll have to transfer from another ship then
classic
true gameplay
Any one else have issues with the roc mining laser not matching up with the crosshair.
Alt+z?
Were can i buy currently hofstead 2 laser?
so where is best to mine now? Any updated commodity site? What astreroid type is best?
you can find it at most of the refineries in stanton
can confirm refining directly from mole inventory doesn't work. Taking pods off and storing them works though.
a lot of cornerstone's info on mining equipment is completely wrong. They moved a lot of stuff around in 4.5.
Can confirm Shubin in NB sells them
Can confirm refining directly from mole works atleast somtimes xD
you can switch out the laser heads now tho, right?
If the hull c tractor beams had multiple stations that could use them simultaneously with other crew that'd get this to make a little more sense
It's one of those 4 person ships everyone uses solo, but would really benefit from multiple people coordinating loading and unloading
they arent updated yet are they?
was just at baijini and it gives me about half of what i paid
so a net loss
any1 acessed hunting quests this update?
ive always picked stanton but im thinking of finally giving pyro a go for my home location, where is the best location?
Can not recommend, everything looks like a shithole
i do like starting on a starion rather than a planet though
Well I think then it is depends what faction you are alligned with, what ships you have, what kind of missions you want to do
Because if you plan to play some fps missions that is one choice.
If you want to be closer or further to/from certain location for X type of mission or place
i ended up going ruin for the asteroid belt
ok on a side note has anyone else noticed that the salvation does work with abraides?
trawlers not working either
how do i get the atls geo boxes into 1 or 2 scu containers? i havent done it before
In station inventory or through a freight elevator
do i just drag it to it or what?
They can also be carried so you can carry it, open the inventory on the 2scu box and drag it out of your hands
gotcha that seems time consuming though id like to learn how to do it from a kiosk but im not sure what im doin
In the inventory kiosk just double click or click on the arrow in the bottom left on the SCU container and it opens another loot window that you can drag items into from the station inventory or personal inventory
sweet thank you so much
I'm having an issue where I can't start a refinery order, I select the materials, choose the refine type, accept the quote, and then nothing happens, still shows the ore in my ship
thanks!
What’s the best ore to mine now. Is quant and Tarinite still the way to go?
i like Lindiium because its pays as much as taranite and i feel its less rare
Where’s that at. Nyx?
yeah you can find it in nxy. It can be found in M type astroids with 1850 signal stenght. Lindinium has 26% probability to be in these astroids.
Thank you
Be aware those m typ astroid have high resistens and instability
I’m trying to do member cargo hauls and my cargo isn’t coming up the freight elevator. Tried at Baijani point, didn’t work. Flew to Everus Harbor. Didn’t work. Any ideas?
is there a ship i can use that can mine the same rocks as an roc or atlas geo?
No
well frick im still having issues with my roc and i dont wanna do the atlas geo for time sake...
my laser wont match up with my crosshair so i cant mine properly and if i use the laser on a rock i cant watch the charge meter of the rock
It looks like the atlas is your only choise
I had a bunch of rmc stored at everus, would it still be there after the patch?
Nope
Well I'm glad I didn't make the trip from pyro to get it lol
Lol yeah that would've been a wasted journey. Everything that was stored in LTP will be at your new residence, unfortunately commodities and consumables are never saved.
Speaking of commodities, how are people finding the rebalance? I did a little 32scu run in my Zeus ES earlier and made a tidy 100k profit. Just a mining outpost to LEO
Nice what were you hauling?
what're good trade routes rn? trade tools hasn't updated
the problem is that they never know what they want to do, either you do what you say or you just do the whole system automated like kinda is rn, the tracktor beams in the hull c rn are totally useless
also they also need to update the tracktor beams in the ship to work more like the pistol ones
but also the economy rn its not good enough for certain game loops to even pay someone else to do that
im baffled how they dont have anyone in their company that can just fix the auto load system in general, it seems like when they changed to physical cargo at the middle of the workl the only guy that was working on that just left the company or something
Disagree about them being useless as I've used them extensively. CIG has always marketed the C+ as a multi-crew ship, but in traditional fashion it was released before the need for crew existed.
I bough most of my ships doing hull c missions and I never used the beam for anything
I used the Hull C before hauling missions existed which is when you start doing hijinks
Like trying to partial load and haul stuff planetside
Also used it a lot during supply or die
HUR-L1 isn't buying Hadanite, where the best price right now? Anyone know off hand?
Look up star citizen trade tools, they have a page dedicated to where you can look up the best place to sell stuff
How do people run their Mole? I've got heavy cracker on the front - 2 x C3s and a focus, and on the side, single C3s and single Focus. Wondering if I should differentiate the sides somehow. In a useful way
ship tractor beams will have ATLS-like functionality
Doubtful tbh
Would be nice lol. I absolutely hate the sway and wobble, it's very uncomfortable to use them right now. I'm all for realism when it makes sense but not when it just adds motion sickness lol
I wonder how horrible it is in VR
We could really use some parking sensors when landing/docking big industrial ships.
How do I get the pod off an ATLS?
Landing a reclaimer into a hangar is pretty much impossible without going into 3rd person
Is there a place to post suggestions to the devs? Like if someone has a really good idea that would improve gameplay?
Spectrum
How do i open the component doors in the mole?
You don't, they're not physically implemented.
tho i can only repair them at a station?
Just paid 160k to repair the part dameged buy over energising astroids, that the parts cant be repaired by hand is kinda mental
Also could it be that levski´s Ore selling point doesn´t buy toride?
The high repair bill on the mole is usually from having to rebuy laser modules
They get broken pretty easily if you blow up a rock
no laserhead were damaged
The life support got down to like 5% and the drive 10-20%
Interesting
so trawlers dont want to work on the salvation, are abraides broken too?
You aren't supposed to be able to change the heads on the salvation, it was a bug that you could initially
oh so im stuck with shitty cinch ones?
yeah. they are supposed to be locked on that ship
it still lets me change them but they wont fire
🤷♂️ don't buy a ship with bespoke equipment then?
Whats the best hauler i can buy with 6 - 10 mil ?
For strictly hauling, it's hard to beat the RAFT
cool, thx
dont know why but the abraides are working now
please dont use gay in a derogatory way
i mean in a 90's way
hull-c vs. misc c2 hercules? (is the hull c broken?)
The C2 is not from misc its crusader
At the moment there are no Hull c missions.
So it might be better to get the c2
@wet moat cant you just do any hauling missions with the hull-c?
You are restictet to stations with External elevators
gotcha
Where do we get the rieger C2 now? Is it just nyx too now?
Maybe, but there isn't a good reason why you'd want a C2 instead of C3, which can be found in Levsky.
If the reason is price, save more money.
Because getting to levski is usually suicide so far
nah im going from and to levski al the time.
I see players are buying quant @100mill/scu. Is this legit? Why the high price?
its duped money, basically worthless to them
they just want their items, money isnt a thing for them
That makes sense, thanks
I tried 4 times to get to levski in the last week. Got interdicted each time
The murder hobos are truly making this game boring
try jumping to some other place, and then jumping to levski
Ok so is there a new bug with terra mills? Sent cargo down and it disappeared, can't select any storage in the commodity terminal either
Sounds like major skill issue, I've been living there since 4.4 with no issue. Haven't even see anyone fight around Levsky.
But we're going to pretend it's major lack of luck if you want.
Maybe try to play on low populated servers 🤷
Im also living there and got interdicted only 2 or 3 times after i changed servers it did´t happen agian.
First thing try to is to change servers.
If that doesn't work. Try to jump to pyro gateway and cancel after a short time than jump to levski
If I go to Levski I usually pick up a box mission to avoid the direct route from the gateway.
Switch server regions.
If you see the interdiction alert, kill all system power immediately. Good chance you drop out of warp 100s of Km from the threat.
or just hold left mouse button and drop out if QT the normal way
Has anyone gotten any pure carinite recently?
hi
what can i do with cargo that missone is failed but cargo siting in my hangar inventory?
ignore it, throw it out of your ship. I think that's about all
I once took a whole raft load to an OM and dumped it while a guy watched and asked if I was ok 😄
There's some server mainteance and stuff going on
there's a few "no questions asked" terminals where you might be able to sell it for a fraction of it's normal price, but I've heard it's not worth the effort
Damn it. I REALLY have to remember to put my helmet on more often when I'm Mole mining!
argo mole?
ARGO MOLE if you wanna be specific. They're acronyms.
I wonder if mole will stay with these weird exposed mining arms or get something more airtight when gold passed
i melt my useless argo. and and bough 3 very useful vehicles, atlas, constallation taurus and last one cant remember its fast combat ship and but i can now make easyly money , i couldnt make eny money with argo cos when you searched materials about 10 min and you needed refuel ship ( its should be industry crade ship ) what a joke 300+ euros
I dont know what your talking about xD
I made about 1,8-2mill with 3 full mole cargos and doesn´t needed any refuling
how mutch time you spent to find rarest raw material? i googled best selling materials and when i went that planet i couldnt find eny of that scanned hours and nothing , and it was about 3 years ago maybe they fixed fuel issue i dunno but it was redicilous plus error 30 very often .
If your farming just for the most rarest meterial off cause it takes a long time but if your going for A-Tier materials (Like taranit oder Lindinium) about every 3th rock has them. They make about 10k per raw scu
if people on the marked are buying quantinium, do they mean refined quantinium (guess so) ? and are playerd also buying taranite or bexalite?
thats the porblem. Gold is absolutly ok to take. Its on the low end of the A tier stuff but it makes you still good profit. It also depens on where your mining
Players are buying Quant because of the Wikelo stuff. That means the need refined quant and wont by others materials
Bro doesn't know how to mining giving mining advice
Not anymore
@wet moatthanks
Gold stocks
Did cig dropped the gold price?
My first comment wasn't at you dreck
Up
Gold best A tier atm
Well was
It's fluctuating
atm gold sells for 8k and lindinum for 24k
ah ok 😅 I thought i missed somthing game changing
Honestly gold is the worse to mine of the bunch so it being the best was less then optimal
Friday gold was mid 20s and Bex was worst
So it's jumping
Maybe it's stable now
Interesting. Seems worth to observ
If it's jumping that much for sure monitor
Did a pure gold run of over 1 mill on friday
Would be worth half that today
where do you get thise prices from? ingame? or is there more up to date site than https://uexcorp.space/commodities
Both give you prices
UEX gives more information about trading and selling your materials but Ragolith gives you informations about the refinery and the minable rocks
can i predict somehow on one of these sites where a material is "in demand" ? bc tdd in orison wont take my taranite
UEX
How care them not take your Terry Taranite
Unfortunately none of the community website have access to the server's live data.
Usually higher inventory capacity gives a better chance, but there's always a risk someone offloaded a large amount right before you get there.
got it, thank you
Like @crimson mantle said. Its not accurate
Sc trade tools has the data in numbers too. Sometimes "half full" when full capacity is 50 is not as useful 😄
I mine to crack big rocks... the selling is boring part... one day I will just pay a cargo Bob to sell it
where are you mining?
Depends on mood. At this point I try random places to collect data more then $$
Pyro mostly
Than maby try levski for sometime
ATM the station has good prices to directly sell it after refining and there is Lindinum everywhere
Alot depends on if solo or not... some planets have heavy weather factors that push your mole around when solo and I don't like dealing with that
Nyx is alright
@wet moat would you recomend mining around levski with the prospecotr (helix 1 / focus 3 + rieger c-3?) it didnt feel too good the one time i tried (was in 4.4 tho)
maybe try hofstead
@wet moatis that a planet`?
@wet moatim not too familiar with nyx yet
oh wait theres no planets in nyx
oh hofsted is a mining module 😄
is scraping or fracturing the best method to make money with salvaging in 4.5?
also whats a good location?
its a mining head
I took it with my Pospector and a rieger c3
i could mini rocks up to 10-12k mass
Hofstede-S1 lowers the resistance and gives you a good charge window. That helps with the very High resistance M typ astroids that are the main typ in nyx
will with sabir ive managed a 17.7k rock, but last time i tried gadgets in space it didnt work (the 17.7 was on a moon)
but ill try the hofsted then
It depents on your ship
With the Reclaimer allways go for faracturing every thing els try scraping Panals in astrids field
in a vulture, so
than try panals in astiod fields
Those panals fill you ship the fastest. If you need some variety you can scarp ships but that takes longer to fill your ship
fields divisible by 2 are panels right
2,000 yes
the astroids have really high resistens and instability in nyx
you need somthing to lower that
With the high resistens your laser loses much power and the instabilty makes it a quite amount harder to not over power the rock. Thats why i dont like the helix with its tiny charge window
Soooo had cargo full. Stored ship after I landed. Went to commodities manager in admin, nothing showed… went back to hanger repulled ship, all commodities were there. I think I touched two with multi tool. Went back to the terminal, showed the two containers I touched I believe, not the rest. When I repulled ship… it exploded in hangar. I’ve noticed a lot of ships moving up hanger elevator with no gears deployed. All cargo exploded with it too. 1M gone. 😔
So frustrating @plucky ridge lots of issues with ships ASOPs etc
Until things improve I am unloading all cargo to the FE. Lots more work but safest bet.
Works the same?
Consistent every time?
Where does it show up under the commodity storage? Whatever the station you’re at?
Yes shows up at the sites name.
What’s the max size container that can be moved by hand?
With the tractor rifle any size...
Ty sir.
The refinery yield decrease and increase of the sale price of the refined products actually seems to be beneficial to the miner. I was averaging about $120K aUEC per refinery job, the last delivery (with 4x jobs) resulted in avg of $165K aUEC per job.
I just wish they fixed salvage
I wanted to get into mining but I don’t really like the mining ships
I want a reclaimer but for mining 🤣
i realy hope the orion buyer are getting the arastra when it comes out xD
Hmm two boxes won't sell in Orison - both have "0" value and won't sell - anyone know why? 16 SCU of Quant and 8 SCU of Taranite.
Same issue on another server. Hmm
the problem with the % its still there so you only get 15% of total refined material with the reclaimer rn
BUT, now you can just dock at any station with refinery and just refine from there without moving boxes, but they need to be on the grid
They made it so you have to refine your salvage now.
Looking for any tips or tricks to find quantanium. New miner here
Came back later, moved the stuff up an elevator, and back down with some other boxes, and it all sold cleanly
Where is Ruin Station's cargo loading area for a Hull C?
The cargo comm isn't responding for me
Not 100% sure if things have changed
Most of them are potentially out of date though. The only one getting updates since 4.0 is regolith, as far as I know
yeah now you need tio refine the construction material, the recyucled material you can still sell it directly
Yes. 1132 SCU salvage in a reclaimer yesterday. After refined thats 170 SCU CMAT
I offload directly via external cargo elevators at Terra gateway....since it has a refinery also.
Took around 10-15mins to unload with the help of a friend.
Very nice
so is uncut slam useful rn? like can i sell it anywhere?
is ship to ship refueling bugged?
In regards to group mining is anything other than the mole considered suboptimal?
Like carrier based golem mining?
You can easily run a few golems out of a C2 or polaris
when has it ever worked?
In Stanton, I like calliope with a prospector. If using a mole in Stanton I do the Aaron halo. In pyro I solely use the mole, and I’ll either mine adir surface, ruin belt, or any random rab/rmb
Narrowing down what locations you check based on scan signal can significantly boost your efficiency
Anyone used starfarer to refuel? I just tried to help a guy out and he docked but as soon as he did the whole screen started shaking and going nuts until we both crashed out
any tips for trading ? i went accoording to UEX website but ended up making no profit. even tho it said i should make around 300k profit
Pay attention to the “last” and “last updated” columns
You aren’t the only person looking at the best option, and thus it is only best for a short period of time
Prices change based on how many people are doing that buy/sell, eventually reaching 0 profit
Best to just know what the avg prices are for a given thing so that when you go to buy you can make sure you are buying below avg, then don’t sell it till it’s worth more than that at a destination, uex can’t give realtime data because there’s no api for ingame realtime data
@keen garden ok but could you explain that chart to me? It has two clocks, why? with different numbers on "updated"? also why does it say i invest 1Million and get back 3 Million? this seems wrong?
is there any like panels or ships to salvage in Nyx?
Should be able to hover over the clock to see what it is
Yes to both
it just says "updated" on both
Just cruise through the asteroid field looking for signatures
One is last updated for the buy side, the other is last updated for the sell side
ok, and the calculation? making 3M out of 1M seems unlikely for that route?
do i read it wrong?
At the last updated prices, it makes sense, but it’s likely they are out of date
kk, ty
It’s not an easy way to make money, not as easy as it sounds
You can get lucky, but a lot of the time the numbers are wrong and you just need to find your own best place to buy/sell
Why it’s important to recognize the prices yourself when you are buying
If you buy below avg it’s easier to make profit
gotcha
Looking at uex I’d say don’t buy waste for more than 75/scu
Then if you find a place to sell it for 100, you’re at least making profit
150, even better
But it’s hard to make much on waste
9000 scu is a LOT
As a rookie to that kind of trading, I’d stick to what you can fit in a medium sized ship
ok
More expensive cargo in smaller boxes with bigger margins
just pay attention to where you are buying from, buying from a place without armistice might be more risk than you are willing to take
There are planty panels around levsky
Also… as an intro to commodity trading… there’s a way to get free cargo
Go to pyro and check the merc tab for bit zero missions, they charge you a fee and give you coords to an RAB, arrive with a cargo ship, infiltrate the base while avoiding turrets, then fly the cargo ship in the hangar out to your ship and transfer the cargo. Now you have cargo to find a good place to sell it and you lose virtually nothing
Fee is like 13k, cargo is worth 300k-600k depending on how well you can sell it
40 scu
There will be some ship combat
Nothing a rented Connie can’t handle
some FPS combat too, or there was when I did a couple last spring. They are fun missions though, I should go try them again.
Yea, little bit
I like to over optimize it, deliver 10+ missions of cargo to checkmate then split by type and deliver for max profit
Could easily just dump it all at rats nest
But minmaxing is fun
I mean in terms of effort vs reward
I think it’s a fun gameplay style, using a carrier with a squad of players flying out, doing a thing, then landing back in, but it’s kinda rough in ROI with how the game is built at the moment. Those 4 or so golems you are carrying have a very low jump distance, making carrying them around convenient, but… your herc can’t scan for rocks very well… and once your golems depart there’s not much reason for them to ever return unless you are bringing the whole group back home
With the way prices are now everything is reward.
Worked a little better for us carrying fortunes on an idris, but… it woulda been better to tail the idris with 1 reclaimer
in the context of "if I were actual space privateer, how would I make the most of this opportunity", yes. I see a lot of min-maxing that seems to be contrary to just playing the game and having fun, but yeah, stock piling cargo and then hauling it somewhere to get the best price is the good kind.
Even with an army of fortunes we couldn’t pull in the kind of rmc a reclaimer could in the same amount of time
Reclaimers shoul;dnt waste their time with RMC.
Plus we then had to deal with 300 1scu boxes at the end of the night
Smaller ships....vultures, fortunes....100% sure
I want a frame that we can attach 1scu boxes to that we can then move as a 16 scu unit
Or 32 scu even
I assume only inside a cargo elevator?
Doesn’t really help with unloading the idris, 😆
We more or less nosed it down the best we could and chucked the boxes at the elevator
The reclaimer is just so much faster than fortune or vulture at scraping that there’s really no reason to even use a fortune or vulture if using a reclaimer is an option, and the same is true of the salvation vs fortune or vulture, the tuning is just not really working in an interesting way atm
In a world where ships to scrap are unlimited
Ships you dont even have to pay for contracts either
I just find them
I dont even dock....I just land and refuel here...
I like the general idea, that smaller ships should produce smaller scu boxes that are more valuable per SCU, but costs overall are just so low value compared to rmc that it doesn’t even matter that that difference is there atm
I’m of course ignoring the fact that the player market exists and the economy is busted
relciamer always looking good
I didint nknow u can do that to refuel
You can refuel anything you can land there.....and repair
can we swap out ore pods on the mole yet?
yes
But in group play for some reason (bag ownership?) the mole owner needs to bed log for it to work right after the bags are swapped
Yes just unlock the pods while in the driver seat with AltGr+K
Anyone else had issues with irreparable damaged parts?
Got an example?
Like if I lose a wing there’s no repairing that without a landing pad,
is there a way i can do commodity trading with the hull c and being able to auto load it all
You can autoload for buying but auto unloading for selling is no more and you have to manually offload freight now
is that why it says "attention: vehicle must be brought to a cargo deck to complete this transaction" when trying to sell things on my hull c
No, if you look, it says the exact same thing when buying, thats telling you to go to the blue box. to pick up and they just havent removed the message for selling
i never got that when buying cargo. it just allowed me to select and buy the cargo, then i just had to go to the blue box to transfer the cargo. now when im trying to sell at the commodity shop, i get that error that says i cant. so im assuming i have to manually unload my cargo and cant use cargo services
this seems to be why
I mean, I was 100% assuming everything was working as intended. If we get to keep these new payouts and go back to 20 min sale times, that would be insane. I figured the upp'd payouts was the tradeoff to manually offloading now
if we had to go to manually offloading i think it would be talked about a lot more in the community
any reason to use the ROC over an atlas geo?
Bigger bags
Geo has to clear a bag 1-3 times a field
Roc is better imo because of this
I saw some Hadanite on Cellin.
just got the Golem package. Please just tell me now why I will want to upgrade it to the prospector later
Ehh golem vs prospector is close. Pros and cons both ways... my main issue with the golem is the laser adds resistance to rocks so they don't scale as well when mining in groups on bigger rocks, but again pros and cons both solid starters
Prospector has an interior that can catch on fire
Prospector can use the helix1, which allows for breaking up to 30k rocks depending on the stats of its contents and what modules/gadgets you use
Some people swear by the golem though. I am not the biggest fan of either and prefer to solo mole
I almost always prefer the prospector when working on a surface with weather, but if there’s no weather im in the mole
True
Weather plays the biggest factor in where I mine tbh in a mole
I'll take less % for better weather
Like why would I bring a prospector if I can bring the mole, if I run into a big quant rock I can’t break it in the prospector
Do you have any moons you like to take the mole to? I like adir, because no weather and very thin atmo so it flies like you are in space
Yeah
Terminus is not fun in the mole, even with laser operators, weather there is brutal
We did bag exchanges on the surface and the wind kept trying to take the bags
Yea
Asteroid mining is smooth, but I feel like I find better rocks on pyro surfaces
We did group quant mining around terminus in the ring and only found one rock that actually needed a mole in 3 hours, the rest could have been broken with a prospector
Was fun to see the prospector catch on fire tho
No wind on Cellin...
No wind on Lyria either
I find asteroid mining does my head in - trying to maintain a coherent alignment/bearing.
And so many single rocks of meh value.
Abandoned ships - they appearing on maps again? Can you warp to them? I wanna use my raft as a mining pod mothership for a change.
The Golem is fun! Keep it and the earn in game ans buy a Mole and a Raft. Fun loop
Hmm even ones death marker flickers in and out
I read all the times about mining mother ships and i am wondering whats the reason to do it?
I mean just go to a astoid field aorund an refinery.
This way you dont need to travel at all and if the station has external elevator you dont even need to take a hanger
As a singel person its for my understanding way to complicated to use a mother ship effectively
As multible people it seems way better to youse multible miner to take bigger rocks
Just for fun
Load a raft with, say, golum pods, dump it in a crater. Respawn. Take a golum back nearby and run rocks and switch out the pods.
Then get all the pods back to a refinery. Refine all the bex, all the Taranite, and then because you have a big pile to refine the crates that load on your ship later will be larger. Easier to manage.
Small perk. Kinda fun to do
The game doesn´t even rewards you for putting up 1 big refinery order, its infact better to a a couple smaler orders working at the same time
No matter how big the order is. The max crate size is 4scu. If the refinery would gives you bigger scu container that would be a real benefit to make bigger refinery orders
I export 32 scu crates to my raft on the regular
from the refined ores?
Yup. Refinery > Raft
But I only summon the Raft from in the hanger to reduce the risk the thing comes up spinning and broken
It's why I try to put at much as possible in the station before I hit refine so that I get as big a boxes as possible. Makes unloaded easier and quicker (because I find selling from the Raft still really buggy)
tho your telling the refinery to onload directly intoo your raft?
Monday i had about 50 scu refinde lindinum and unloaded it into the station the biggest crate a got were 4 scu. (Not even talking about cmats)
Yup. Station unload is always 4scu. When you click the drop down for the unload, scroll to a cargo ship 🙂
But NEVER call the ship from the lobby. Heh
Nothing worse than seeing your raft doing donuts when you make it to your hangsr and then "claim" when you make it back to the lobby 😭
So you’re telling me I wasted a lot of time hauling CMATs and other cargo from the cargo elevator into the ship?
I thought that system was kind of bugged and probably didn’t work properly, which is why I played it safe and hand-loaded everything.
It used to be really unreliable - but I think it has been polished.
So long as you call the ship from the hanger. I have found the hanger way more reliable since 4.5
And having to unload only a 16 or 32 and some 8s and then a few other is SO MUCH nicer than a shit ton of 4scu lol
That changes so much for me xD
So stockpiling a few runs before placing the order actually seems viable to me.
Haha yeah. I like having a big pile and refining, like all the Bex and this getting a couple of 32s and stuff out. And then all the Taranite. All that quant. 3 separate jobs etc. Max scu size. Easy.
You can just keep sending unloads to the cargo ship until you're ready to take it to market.
how do you keep the full container apart from the empty?
I know that the latest container that are put into the elevator are allways the ones at the bottom of the list but i dont know if that stays after reloging
I can't do this reliably. So maybe the Raft mothership method. Or i do a run with the Mole, then bring up 8 pods, send down the full. Then I come back and send down the 8. Then I do a run with the golem and repeat.
But I am curious about doing a raft run where I can fit whatever is on a raft. What a big job!
Or you could team up and send tons of pods to someone and then load the full ones in your hanger.
The best way might be to store the full and empty container at different refinerys 🤔
There's a notional green bar showing pod fullness, but it lies!
Yes oh true. Good idea.
Use a carrier ship filled with pods & seperate the full from not full on the cargo grid with a storall
I think I'll do the El Guapo thing of dumping full pods all over the ground as I slowly drain a Raft 😂
where are people finding salvage these days?
Any popular site in pyro.
Solo mothership mining was fun. Don't leave pods, they disappear (lost 5)! Clip them back on. If argo, just rotate the ones that are full compared to the ones that are empty 🙂
Sorry new to all of this. So, you fly the raft somewhere that you want to mine after buying a bunch of replacement bags. Then you call down the golum from a nearbye landing pad? Then you mine in the golum and keep swapping out the bags. Then you fly the raft somewhere to refine all the bags at once. Is this right? Do you get the empty bag back?
Empty bags should be returned now, yeah. Just note inventory can be a bit slow to update
bro you need to go look
I llok most of the time at the HUL stations were the salvage missions are and at the Nyx gate
There are planty
Step 1: Fly a raft loaded with empty pods to a surface. Not too close to any point of interest. Land. Respawn yourself:
Step 2: Summon your Golem on the station you respawn, fly down to the raft and do mining nearby (I head off in the cardinal directions).
Step 3: Full Golem? Fly back to the raft, switch out pods (do NOT leave pods on the ground).
Step 4: Repeat mining and switching until you're out of fresh pods. Jump in the Raft and fly back to the station, leaving the empty Golem behind.
Step 5: Pull all the pods off the Raft, put them in storage.
Step 6: Refine from storage, sell trash ores from storage.
Step 7: Claim Golem.
Step 8: Repeat!
I suggest flying the golem down first and finding a decent patch of ore before brining the raft down.
Ive done it in my prospector.
where is the best place to sell what i mined or is it all the same
use this tool to know where to sell best your stuff:
https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer
I actually did that this time and it was nice. But I am not sure there are really patches. There's ore everywhere. But yeah, golem first is good.
trying to get my toe into mining, I'm closer to a mole than a golem tbh so I'm curious if it's a bad jumping off point or if I should wait until I can afford a golem to learn off of
also wheres the better places to be mining with it, is nyx worth the hype?
I would stick with a moon in Stanton to start with. Mole or Golem - both are fun
Cellin is the classic recommendation. Yela, Lyria are others
ok cool thank you
I've been wanting to get into mining or at least try to for a bit more
It's a fun loop.
Mining is one of the few cases where auto-unloading (of ore bags at a refinery) and auto-loading (of refined ores direct to a ship from the refinery terminal) works pretty reliably.
You do need a cargo ship if you want to sell refined ore though. Unrefined ore can be sold directly at the refinery, but for less.
I got my first taste of mining with a Roc, however I don't know how well they're working right now. After that I went to a Mole. I also have a Golem now too though.
got the mole in game to try out and so far trying to modify it has been a pain in the ass :(
the navigation is kinda bad
and also mfw modules don't want to be dropped out of an inventory so I can attach them
Do people like the Golem more than the Prospector? Or is it just cheap?
Prospector has been my workhorse for years but I haven't mined in a long time now
its cheaper, its bags are easier to handle, it flies much better, and its smaller, so you can fit it into a fair few other ships
I don’t like the mole, I rented it and like man it sucks to do solo, just really old and not polished
the prospector is great though
love that thing
How do you tell if a ship is abandoned or if the person is in a bunker?
Before you strip it lol
I love the golem. Specially when you get a few different people running em. Gets pretty fun to crack big rocks.
Besides, Golem is great for mining in hostile areas/ pvp areas. It has such a small signature.
You can stealth component it down to around a 6k detection range - amazing for an industrial
The ironclad is going to make a great carrier for golems and salvation swarms
Golems and ROC mining and so-on. Fun
I'm sorry, i'm not understanding. I have watched many mining videos, I bought the golem package. I have done three mining runs and refined the ore at a refining station. But it seems that no videos or information will explain why you might get the prospector over the golum, or the mole over the other two. I don't understand the use cases for the ships and it seems that no one is explaining them. Please help
The only obvious thing is, bigger mining ship breaks bigger rocks. But is that all?
More mining heads incase you wanna bring friends along
No, the prospector is still a single seater...
There are a handful of reasons. The interior with bed makes it easier to leave game without having to get back to the mining area. The custom mining head allows for substantially more flexibility with your loadout. While the golem has a high power head you will suffer on certain rocks that have small optimal ranges, while the prospector has ways to make those much easier to crack and not blow up. For now it's not super obvious because the only reason to mine is money, but eventually crafting will make it more clear why the prospector is more versatile and valuable.
as a mostly pvp player for a while i have decided to add mining to my gameloop list: which head should i place on my prospector for mining? is helix still the best or is one of the other heads a viable alternative?
Helix seems so far the only one that does anything yeah
helix is the stongest but a hofstead is a good choice if you dont care about the biggest rocks and makes the mining easier
If your minign in Nyx the hofstead might be even better than the helix
Also keep in mind if you set up a prospector for max power to crack the biggest rocks you may end up in the awkward situation of having to recrack them to get them under 10scu, and cracking those just barely over 10 rocks with a high power helix can be really tricky.
The hof is great, it’s easy to get greedy though and desire to break anything you find
Idk how people solo the mole, so much chair swapping
Servers seem really fucky :/
My only Golem complaint is no standing up, so no drinking. But that is a very “miner” complaint (he he he)
It’s decent and I get plenty of Quant in it.
Hi Friends. Does the Vulture have an Engineering panel? And where is it please? Thank you.
So it took two days of work and I mined three full loads in the Golem, refined it all, then transported it to a place I could sell it and I only got 100K out of it. What a complete waste of time. Why would anyone waste time mining when they could be hauling
Two days off work and a whole three loads....?
not to mention dealing with ten times the amount of bugs because of all the interface issues and conversions from ore to goods to transport to sale
100k of what? Inert materials?
crappy stuff, beryl, quartz,
Yeah all junk...so why "mine" junk? You can easily goto another spot and mine....lets say Taranite or Bexalite...even Quant etc
It's just not worth it. The loop has too much maintenance and conversions. It's a complete waste of time over just hauling contracts
I just learned something - so long as the Argo pod is on the elevator, it won't explode. Cos the 1 I hadn't loaded did explode and almost killed me lol
So go back to hauling and stop crying about it.
Hauling doesnt work either
Freight hangars do not respond
no cargo to lift
OMG ya know what else dont work? Salvaging....
nothing works atp and devs are on holidays
Im being facetious....because salvaging does work....and so does mining.....because I did a few runs in the prospector earlier today....on lyria.....and made easily 900k+
Yes it is working for me on the server I am on.
I dont bother with hauling anymore but I do enjoy salvaging Hull C's that people abandon
cant afford salvaging rn, quite new to the game, just bought Raft and focused on hauling with a friend
it was fun
Thats how I started....hauling.....I rented a raft for a week
IMO the RAFT is a great purchase and does make some $$$
my friend gave me 4 mil just for start and i made a mistake with buying C1 spirit. Nice looking ship, but can carry only 64 scu
tbh just look for mining guides on yt

This comprehensive Star Citizen ore mining tutorial is your complete guide to mastering the most popular and profitable mining gameplay loop in the verse. Whether you're a complete newcomer to mining or looking to refine your techni...
that's what I am going back too. So for mining, you go find the crap, mine it, then refine it. Then wait hours for the refinement. Then guess what, you have to pick it up and haul it somewhere else anyway! What a complete joke. Mining IS hauling but for 10 times the wasted time and for less than 10 percent of what a regular hauling contract would be on the raft (stacking 5)
So go back to it and have fun.
A few thoughts:
Renting ships is a great idea, especially if you don't want a "big hauler" to be your daily driver.
Regarding mining, profitability, and "waste of time": I try not to think of my time in Star Citizen purely in terms of "for-profit". It's really more of a Space Sim than a space game, and not a second job. The interactions, learning how to use mining equipment, identify rocks and resources, outfit your ship, play with the refinery, hopefully that is a fun simulation.
The economy in-game is whack right now. The money supply is all over, people are giving away billions, the payout for mining / salvaging is pretty small compared to some other tasks. Hopefully the skills you gain now will serve you well when crafting is kicking off and raw resources are suddenly much more useful and, hopefully, more valuable.
Take missions that are fun, do task you enjoy, but don't tie yourself purely to the payout. That's my advice at least.
My Org-mate recently gave me 1,000,000,000, but I still do missions because they're fun, not for the second job.
That said, I do think there's some decent money to be made selling Quant to players if you're into that kind of thing.
Sell 1scu of quant and never have to work another day (until the inevitable purge :P)
honestly I usually end up refining it, putting it in storage, and then forgetting about it until a mini-wipe
ElGuaPo the GOAT miner and I'll fight that hill. Straight to the points.
No BS. Raw mining
so is this maintenance the wipe?
No
Don't think they have given any formal date just yet since they want to patch as many exploits as they feasibly can before wiping. I can see them wiping with crafting if I had to guess, so they have a clean slate and they can gauge what they need to tune in that respect.
Is anyone else having problems with refining? Any refinery I go to, the menu glitches out and doesn't start refining
They want a couple of patches and a few weeks of data to prove that the exploits are patched before they wipe
Switch servers
Tried that, still didn’t work
Bollocks. Was working ok on Aus at ARC-L1
anybody know where to find/what missions spawn shivs? really want to scavenge the ballistics on that thing for my guardian mx
so since we have local ship inventory available in the refining screen, has anyone got their 890j to work? It just refuses to start a work order.
Anyone knows if salvage refinery also works with the buffer or only on grin in case of the reclaimer docked at station?
I’ve been occupied and I couldn’t play yet

i believe it's just the grid
so cant have loose cargo bags, they need to be on a cargo grid for the refinery to accept them?
I haven’t tested that myself, but that’s usually how it works. Has to be on grid for the stations to see it
IMO it’s easier to unloaded it in a hangar
There’s not a whole lot of easily accessible grid space
Yeah for prospector 890j mining ops i filled the front hanger with pods, should use the rear elevator instead as they would all fit on the grid there
In that situation it may be easier to use external freight elevators if they exist at the station you want to unload at
Keep a fury or something to easily exit the hangar and push the send down button
should be able to dock the 890j and store it at the Lagrange stations and use the ship inventory in the refinery, I am hoping since i move the pods to the cargo grid the refinery will work like normal. Any amount of manually moving pods again out of the ship is just eating even more time
only grid
correct
thanks!
it made me so sad when I learned that for myself
I had last played when salvage came out so I was used to stacking it like bricks and selling the whole hold

Yea, just depends on how much more time unloading to the cargo bay takes, but yea the more you are collecting in an outing, the more it’s gonna make sense to avoid touching the boxes twice
now you get like 16scu of refined CM from filling the salvage processing grid with Construction Salvage which sells for like 11k at Arc L1
11k each, right
I wouldn’t worry too much about actual profits at this point, the player market/economy is absurd
I did hear from here that the values are busted and you’re only getting like 15% of CS as CM instead of the intended 85% but I don’t know where the numbers come from tbh
sure yeah but I don’t feel like being a wikelo slave or ebegging
Exactly
Yes, thinking of storing new pods in the hanger loosely to load up the prospector, then when when its full drop the full pods onto the belly cargo elevator of the 890j, then land the prospector at the front to load up new bags, this also helps keep the full separate from the empty!
The last few times we took out the reclaimer it didn’t make sense to bother with cmats
wait the prospector can fit in the 890?
Yup
Every time I’ve scraped with the thing I crash

Yup
so I’ve just been munching hulls
I wasn’t crashing, but everyone who rode with me did
I got up to like 1 mil an hour just by optimizing the process of making boxes and putting them on the grid with a buddy
but like
it just feels bad
you end up still stacking boxes in the back, but since you can only offload 10 of the 16 scu boxes at a time you just end up having to undock, fly a decent way away, shuffle boxes, then come back and dock again
like I said, about a mil an hour between me and one friend, but it was tedious
We just stack the salvage processing room and chuck boxes out the chute
where are you refining it?
But also we only salvage in pyro
ahhhhhh
So ruin is right there with its big hangars
yeah this is annoying
I did try throwing them out the chute into my buddies C2 for him to refine
Kinda works, but boxes go everywhere
that also worked but solo’ing the reclaimer is a bit of a pain and I lost a lot of time to swapping seats and trying to maintain a disintegration on moving parts
nah it was actually really clean
16s is a lot of time to work with
and he had an atlas so it was extra easy
unfortunately it’s just sooo not valuable
picked up mining in nyx though
that feels fun as hell
until you crash your ship carrying 20scu of lindinium ore
Yeah mining is my fav
I mostly just do quant mining
To trade bits for wikelo parts
They do
I us a mole most of the time, I tried adding logistics here and there and never found one that actually made things go quicker
yeahhhh
As a solo player
there’s just not really anything in the game for that sort of stuff yet
Like keeping a herc full of mole bags somewhere nearby
In the time it takes me to swap I coulda just gone to the station
And I don’t want a week long refinery job
oh you mean that kind of logistics
TRUE refinery times take ages
I was honestly kinda considering a herc and golem or something combo
since you can park a golem in the c2 iirc
I’d imagine quantanium probably isn’t great for that sort of stuff with its timer and all that
Now days we do group quant mining
One solo mole 2 prospectors
Prospectors scoop up small quant rocks and I in the mole scoop the big ones
about how much quant do you wrangle in
About 48 or so per 3 hours, give or take 48
It’s so random
One good rock can get you to 48 (48 is two Polaris bits)
holy cow
damn that awesome
how did you crack that solo? Lasers these days seem to be shooting piss
S2 helix or impact with 3 surges and a sabir
Was pretty maxed out in available power
noticed it doesnt say "impossible", always be saying that with mine 😄
Oh that’s the pilot seat scan
With sabir already in place
Realistically I shoulda used a boremax there
🤷♂️
But it cracked
nice work!
@keen garden this is how it looks now for me with the cargo correctly placed on the grid
Heres a video of it not starting the work order still
ok its because you cannot start work orders from non-mining ships. What a shame
I've started a refining order from a Raft
But I couldn't sell the left-over trash ores from the Raft
raft can do it annoyingly butnot other "freight" ships
oh weird
Does the reclaimer have a tractor beam to stabilize or pull ship parts near the arm?
the salvage heads should both have a tractorbeam, yes
No, Im talking about the scraper heads, sorry. The things you use to hull scrape ships, they should each have a scraper and a tractorbeam equipped that you can switch between
Unless you bought it from teaches
Can you salvage components from an A2?
Can’t pull size 3 stuff off of any ship
is that a bug or a feature?
yes
imagine it’s mostly because larger ships aren’t really designed for their parts to be removed in that way
Some are, like the hull C
Herc… maybe, elevator might fit a size 3 but getting it in and out of that door at the top is gonna be rough
before all this maintenance you could just fire the laser without doing any alignment
My moles lasers are suddenly not firing’s after the last server update
Ya, but that doesn't tell me if Caranite is working or not
what resource should i look for golem based carrier operations?
Check that they are powered from the power display. Often gets toggled off, or down to one laser only
For golem mining in Stanton: quantanium, Taranite, bexalite
thanks, what about nyx?
I'm having a hard time selling my Taranite actually. Price is suppressed. Bex sells easier, but for a bit less
There you get an additional ore in the same tier as Bex and Tar, but can't remember it's name heh
You might get two more there too. But those might be Pyro only. Ricite and Stelaron (?). They are in the quant tier
So I accidentally misclicked and instead of closing the back ramp on my C2, I locked it open. Now it won't unlock and it won't close. Any way I can fix this other than reclaiming the ship?
Can we not empty Prospector bags Into a container out while mining or can you only empty them via the elevator to the refinery. I think it woud be good if we could empty the bags Into a container and once full drop them off at tha planet station and once you have a few containers full to get a ship to collect them and take those container boxes to the refinery.
you can only empty them via freight to the refinery or direct from your mining ship in storage
I Guess i need help...
The current strategy for that is simply pulling the bags off and replacing with empty ones
A helix prospector should be able to break that
Others maybe too, if you have surges and proper gadgets
Thinks I got tired of going out and back again to deposit such a tiny amount of minerals. I'd rather go out and mine for hours if need be and bring back a crap load. As a preferred solo player you can't carry more bags with you and a Prospector.
I did with a herc
It can hold mole bags plus a shuttle
I used an m50 as my shuttle, fits on top of the bags in a herc
Or just do it like that
Wish they’d make it easier to apply gadgets on asteroids
I'm confused. What do you mean you use a M50 as a shuttle. Shuttle what?
Myself, if I backspace instead to go get the prospector my ship marker is always way off
So I fly out the herc and park it somewhere safe, then go get the prospector and stay out till the herc is full
If I have to stop early, I abandon the prospector and bedlog the herc
Now I get it. So you fly to say Daymar. Land somewhere with the C2 andM50 on board as above. Take the M50 to the nearest station and grab the Prospector and fly back to the C2. Go do some mining. Fly back to the C2 to change bags and head out again and do this till all bags are full. Fly the C2 back and place the bags In elevator.
Will the C2 not despawn while mining.
Yup, and the c2 won’t despawn. Best tho to park the herc in space, just jump somewhere weird and stop after a gm or so
Best case is to be above or below the target planet you are mining so that you can always fly in on the light side
In nyx you have Lindinium. It's about the piece of taranite, the system has a good amount of it and you can sell directly at the refinery.
But keep in mind to equip gadgets that lower instability and resistance
im new and when i go to admin i cant sell my recycled material composite and idk why can someone help me plss
Try to find a TDD terminal or a Commodity terminal what site are you at?
you mean the station ? i was at seraphin station
Can you get a screenshot of the Admin terminal view of the sale? I usually sell my RMC at the Orison TDD.
So i'm out here with my Salvation ship after putting on all the upgrades the guide advised and now after hitting the M key the scrapers will not turn on? The video guide says just hold the left mouse button, but nothing is happening
check they're powered in your mfd?
yeah the same thing happen to me sometimes the ship is bugged i think, when u have sound or technical issue just turn off power and engine and try again, it work why any probleme like radar or salvage mode at least for me
it wouldn't help i have my game in french but ill go to orison tdd to check is i can ty
ok thank you I will try again. great tha a brand new ship build in this game doesn't work in the year of unplayability.
yeah i was thinking the same thing as if the game was not already hard enough to understand lol
So you were right, it was just another bug. Went back to a station to repair (nothing was broken), went back out again and it magically worked. if I had thought to turn off the engine that probably would have fixed it. Thank you. Now it seems that salvage is better than mining because its always RMC, it doesn't need refining, and its a predictable 5k income per 1 scu box. Looks like I'm all setup for crafting when I get about 50 boxes worth.
all setup for crafting?
from what I read and videos that I watched, crafting is going to have a reset. however, RMC is slated to be a major crafting component of basic buildings from what i understand. So gettign 50 SCU of RMC boxes in my view is a good setup for crafting. It puts me through the paces of what will be needed for a basic star base (which they say is gong to be the first crafted habitat for players.
commodities get reset every patch, so even if there wasn't a wipe coming, there's no point in saving stuff like if you don't need it for something this patch
Whats the generalist loadout for moles? i have a helix hofstede and impact lasers on it?
New also with a Salvation. Where is this guide?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ju7JUc-seKo
around the 3:20 mark
In this Star Citizen 4.4 video, we take a first look at the new RSI Salvation starter salvage ship. I’ll give you a quick tour of the Salvation so you can see the layout and key features. Then I break down my recommended best loadout for the RSI Salvation for efficient solo salvaging. Finally we take the ship out to salvage and test how it per...
I like to have one side laser with Helix - Reiger C3 x2, Surge. Other two are both Hoff's, one with a Reiger C3 and a Focus and one with two Focus
Some people run more aggressive. El Guapo runs only active modules on all lasers for example
I guess you can’t EVA from Salvation. Oof
The You Tuber Risbo the Blade has good loadout guides...
I need a better gun flashlight. Anyone know where to get the new Volt light?
Oh I have switched the dual focus 3 build for a focus 3 and a torrent 3. This makes this laser the "crack and scoop all the small breaks quickly" laser and I think the effects stack in multicrew ops so the faster charging optimal bonus can stack with size and lower bonuses, which will be nice.
Note, this build is kinda optimized for Stanton moon mining, which I prefer.
Where can I find Hadanite in the Klesher work mines?
Best of luck, I barely even see Dolivine
I've been in here for an hour and a half and I've got my sentence down to 21:30 hrs from 27 hrs
Any fix for the ROC laser being misaligned with the cursor, this makes mining very hard:
