Heyas im trying to decide what ship i should buy next (i only have a light fighter currently), to start getting some good money. a Hauler, miner or salvage ship? (should cost max 3millon auec). any suggestions? whats most profitable currently and does it even make sense to buy a hauler since you can just rent it ?
Maybe a Prospector?
A Hauler like the raft can be rentet but a a Miner like the prospector needs to be outfittet with new mining heads
yeah thats what i thought
mining didnt feel worth it with a rented one, you think its worth it with an upgraded one?
But aside that
The MOST IMPORTANT qestion is. What game loop do u think is the most interresting
of these 3 id think mining, but salvage seems cool, but it felt not profitable last time i tried
id probably go with mining or salvage whatever is more profitable and if i wanna do hauling i can still rent a raft
Mining between a stock and an refittet ship are Worlds
salvage is currently a bit on the low end of income
ok thats what i wanted to know. thanks. and what you'd recommend prospector or golem for mining?
I never use the golem tho i cant talk about what is better
but at least on the prospector you can change the head and have a bigger storage
and changing the head is important i guess?
Its to be able to crack bigger rocks
ok thank you
and one thing about hauling. what are good hauling missions to make money with a rented a raft? (i need to get some more money before i can buy the prospector)
There's not really any better than stacking 5-7 XS to the same location
The Medium ones aren't time efficient due to multiple delivery locations, and the bigger hull C ones don't work because the hull C doesn't work
XS ?
Extra Small, they're called something like "rookie rank - extra small direct planetary hauling contract"
hey guys - how much does hour of salvaging on Reclaimer should give you, roughly?
@quartz crow thanks
Can you switch out Golem pods?
That only works on the prospector
have never used a Golem for mining , aren't their pods fixed?
Cheers guys. Yeah I had thought it wasn't possible but a mate asked
Where are folks quant mining? Seems like regalith is outdated, I cant find any granite on walla
Hello. I know you can't afford a Reclaimer right now but I will be happy to take you on a run sometime. Just dm me if interested. Take care.
I just tested and you CAN buy and switch out Golem pods and refine from them successfully.
Wait what do you mean with switch out? Are you talking about taking out the Golem pots an putting in new golem pots
Or are you Talking about switching the Golem pots with argo pots`?
the former 🙂
oh ok xD yeah that works perfectly fine

but maybe consider that it might be better to have multiple refinery ques insted of 1 big
I do most of the time 2 mining runs than start a que
One big que takes more time than 2 ques to refine
i just did a 4 pod refine and had one queue do the taranite, the other the quant
but yeah, i could always store two, store the ship and then split across 4 queues evem
If you have 4 pots you can fill 2 fly back but them in to the storage and take the other 2 and fill them. Than bring them back and stor them into the station to start refine all 4 container
Tho you get mory 4scu boxes but dont have to long refinery que`s
Yeah. Options 🙂
@vestal ravine Hey thanks for the offer, but i just did a few hauls with a rented raft and now i can affors my own prospector so ill start with that. but maybe you or someone can advise me how to upgrade my prospector the best, and also where i should go mining and what 😄
I just found a cool twin Prospector mining video on YouTube near Levski. Would you like that link?
@vestal ravine sure
I've been having quiet a lot of fun with the trusty Prospector in Nyx. You can fly solo or with a friend, just a few seconds away from Levsky we found various rocks and went back and forth between mining and refining the ores.
Also I'm on NixOS (btw) so I basically have to life in Nyx.
My second channel about Linux, programing, traveling and o...
I finally found a seemingly abandoned ship to salvage, scanning shows powerplant and shields are destroyed, yet I can see its shields up and my hud says TARGET SHIELDED
Tried shooting it, somehow its shields regenerate magically even without a powerplant and destroyed shield components
shoot a ramp or door open, go inside, and turn the ship off
if the shields are still up and working, then the scan is almost certainly lying to you
But it won't let me shoot a door open with shields will it?
And how will I access an mfd with no powerplant?
Are you saying if I point at a carrack's ramp with my vulture's bulldogs it'll pop right open? Or are you saying I need to get out of my ship and shoot it with my rifle? Do you just shoot the center of the ramp, or the seams, or what?
just shoot the middle of the ramp with your ship guns
any door, ramp, or airlock on a ship has an hp pool. If you shoot them enough they'll "break" and open
And my shots will go through a magic shield that works with no power?
if the ship still has shields, then the powerplant isnt destroyed like the scan says it is. I would trust your targeting MFD and your experience that the ship still has working shields over what the scan says
You shoot the shields until they go down, and then you shoot the ramp open. The shields cant regenerate if you're actively shooting them
My lil bulldogs can't keep shooting long enough before it regens
yeah they can
put full power to guns. Empty your mag, and then instead of waiting for your guns to recharge to full to shoot again, just put 1 or 2 shots into the shield every couple seconds to keep it from regenerating
Keep plinking the shields till your mag has fully recharged, and then repeat
sweet vulture will only let me fill 2 out of 4 pips in guns
thats normal
bulldogs only require 1 power pip each, so in your case full power to guns means only 2 pips
ok
This is gold, either it worked or the owner was actually in there the whole time and opened the ramp to come and kill me
So the idea is I'll be able to just go sit down in the pilot's seat and disable the shields as though it were my own ship?
yeah
It kept saying "friendly fire" so am I gonna get a crimestat?
go sit in the pilot seat, and hit U to turn the ship off
You would've gotten a crimestat already, so if you havent then youre fine
Also, if the owner was still on that ship, they would've flown away already lol. I wouldn't be so worried about people hiding in abandoned ships just to kill random people
ok I think this is working thanks for your help
I don't know if it's more time-efficient than just stacking hauling contracts but we'll see
probably not, but it might be more fun
Is he bedlogged in there and is gonna come back to no hull? I just don't understand how ships end up abandoned near stations to begin with
I figured if their game crashed or something their ship would despawn and just disappear after a few minutes
If their game crashed, then the ship should stay in space until the server crashes/restarts
When you bedlog, the ship dissapears from the game world
Cool, tractors aren't working, can only eject the one box, so immersive
I assume you arent in an armistice zone?
Well wouldn't you know it, for the first time I cared about armistice, it wouldn't tell me anywhere on my screen whether I was in it or not
Used to tell me all the time and I didn't care but not today
So there's no way to know
Tractors don't work in armistice?
I heard Nyx mining was slow progress due to few rocks well spaced out. Is this correct?
Not normally, no. I think the only exception is landing pads at mining stations, if you're standing on the pad you can use a hand tractor
If you are in an armistice zone, there'll be an eye symbol in the very top left of your screen. If there isnt one, then you arent in armistice
I think you also have to have a helmet on to see those symbols, but I could be wrong there
ok I got the symbols mixed up, the 🚫 symbol is for armistice, the eyeball is for the comm array
either way, yes youre in armistice
you can still fill up the buffer on your vulture, but yeah you wont be able to print and move the boxes until you move out of armistice
ok I think I get it now
Really throws off the logic when you can use it in hangar or on pads that are within armistice
yeah for sure
out of salvage and mining which one objectively makres more profit/hour
oh my god a full vulture's worth of rmc, 37 scu, only gets you a little over 200k at the best-paying location in stanton. That's a pittance
So probably not salvage
Used to get over half a million
RMC price got dropped iirc
CMAT got a buff in price but it got fucked up with by refinery bug
rn maybe its better to just go and just get the CMAT quick and fee dthe refinery
If you use a Vulture there is no reason to look for abandoned ships.
The most profit can be made with panels in Astroidfields
Yesterday I were mining in the Astroid field next to C1 abd than changed to nyx.
Both had an equal Astrid density but in Nyx I found way more rocks with good value minerals like Lindinium or Bexalit
And you can refine and sell right there in Levsky yeah?
I never selled something there tho I don't know the prices to be honest but the refinery at levski even gives you bonuses on every mineral.
I'm not gonna refrain from negative feedback, people come here for information and it's pertinent
can you switch the RSI Salvation salvage beams? I saw that the salvage beams are locked, I'm not really sure if it means that we can change it on the salvation or that we can't use the one salvation on another ship...
You're not supposed to be able to change the salvage beams on the salvation, however right now they're bugged and do allow you to change them. CIG has said its a bug though, and it will be fixed come next patch
I see, thanks.
Am I imagining it or are the side miners of a Mole exposed to space?
they are
Ohh good to know and warn the buds
It's funny jumping into ships of different generations. You can feel the Mole is an old design
indeed
IMO salvage is more consistent whereas mining can be like winning the lottery one run...or coming up with junk the next one.
And im talking salvage with a Reclaimer. I dont use my vulture or fortune anymore.
I mean once you use the reclaimer you can’t get again into the other ones haha
They fit so slowly
It gives me anxiety looking the scu fit so slowly haha
I feel like the reclaimer is the most inconsistent. Every time I jump into QT it's a 50/50 chance to crash the game
It's always the same, while in QT I get an sound bug and the game crashes with me at the station where I received the reclaimer
Ive been turning off weapons before I jump...seems to work so far.
Apropos Weapons
What has more DPS. The 4 size 3 guns from the pilot or the size 5 turret on top of the ship
Oooh I should check that just in case. But yeah. This last patch came with sound problems and crashes. Idk if the crashed has something to do with the sound bugging
So far it crashed for me once but I was using the scrapers and I heard a loud sound and it crashed
I think the size 5 of the turrets
The sound bug while QT followed by a crash are definitely casual but I don't know if the sound bug is the source of the crash or if they the crash and the sound just have the some source
If been thinking about changing the top turret to stronger Canons because Im already only using them to soft kill big stationary ships
Are the 500 DPS per gun ore all 4 combined?
I mean why even bother to go all into the ship and turn it off if you can just shoot a bit longer xD
That's understandable
What would make more sense. I want to give mining a try. Get a golem and put it in the asgard and go mining or get a prospector?
Prospector will be a more streamlined experience and potential to get bigger rocks.
Golem with asgard will let you stay out longer, but have more complicated setup/managment
Thank you for the advise
Do they use ammo?
yes, but they hit harder than the laser ones
iirc the laser pdcs got nerfed a lot
Ah the bug to use them on s1 gimbals
If it's counted as a bug
where do you guys tend to buy 8scu containers for moving stuff from storage?
ah, nvm, found it at cargo center
What is "Construction Salvage" worth?
Did you actually needed them?
I only needed my once whan a Nomad decided to poke my Reclaimer.
But for that thing the laser pdcs where more than enough
was it before or after the nerf? because it seem snow they want it more for missile defence rather than taking out ships, ballistic pdcs still do more damage now
also i prefer the sound of it xD
It were at the IAE day the reclaimer came out.
Someone please remind me of the trading sites which may tell me what this is worth and were to sell it. I used to know but have been away from SC for a year and forgot.
there should be SC trade tools and uexcorop for trading prices
lemme see if i remeber the command
!sctradetools
fuck
anyways heres both

What the ship with the largest cargo grid which you can rent?
RAFT
I use 8300 per scu as an average...but it varys
So I've been told that's the unrefined stuff and "Construction Materials" are the refined version of it. Is that right or is it the other way around? Which one is worth the 8300 per scu?
Well I have two 16 SCU containers which report to be "Construction Salvage" when I tractor then. That's why I'm confused as to what they are.
They came from a wrecked Reclaimer.
They don't seem to be contract items or stolen.
Oh well. I have them stored until I can't figure out what to do with them.
Sorry i misread your post. Those two 16scu boxes will earn you a heafty 40k after refining so don't spend it all in one place.
If you have them stored at a station with a refinery you can go down and have them refined into construction materials...the final product. 32 scu refined gets you 5scu when its done. 4.8 rounded up.
32 x .15
im new to mining - should I buy a ROC for the back of my corsair, or is it just best to buy a mining dedicated ship? and if so, which one can I get for <5mil? I have 4.9m auec
The Golem is only 1m credits and the Prospector is 2.7m, you have plenty of choices.
so long as I can solo it I'm game for any
both are solo ships, the crewed mining ship is the Argo Mole (9m)
The Roc is cheap enough to just buy one for doing a different mining activity. It's a unique experience. Every few weeks I go roc mining.
I'm a new player trying to get rolling as a hauler.
Using my Aurora MR for now, doing runs to save up for a Nomad.
Can someone please list a simple ship progression for hauling missions to make cash/rep?
Not sure if the Nomad should be my first purchase, and then not sure what the current "best" choices are to stair-step beyond that. Thanks for recommendations!
Stop right now with the MR, rent an actual hauler.
The Nomad itself is rentable if you want, as well as many others.
Check on !itemfinder ⬇️
Use the website to search for any item (and where to obtain them) in-game.
Oh bleh, didn't realize you could rent ships like that, thanks!
What happens if I lose a rented ship?
You claim it like an owned ship
Ahh ok, wanted to make sure I didn't go into debt or something, thanks.
When you rent a ship a timer shows up on the asop terminal. When the time is up the ship is reclaimed from your inventory etc
Thanks all, renting options seem to be one heck of a faster path than just grinding solo
check this site to know where to rent the ship you want, not all places rent all ships.
https://uexcorp.space/vehicles/home/list/in_game_rent/
my recomendation is to rent the RAFT, go to Seraphin, take and do all the $50k missions, there are 6 of them, you'll be making 300k+ per trip of around 40 mins.
Thanks much, this is exactly the type of recommendation I was hoping for. Will try relocating to Seraphin and give this a shot.
I'm in Microtech now - does this planet not have the same rental/cargo options?
The seraphim chain is nice because you don't have to be conscious of what cargo goes where, you load it all up and dump it all in the same 2 spots
and there are a couple more missions to take on route, one of 45k to go with the 6x50k and once in the airport there is a 75k mission to go back to station, so it is a round trip of about $450k in 40-45 mins.
Use the Argo ATLS to make easier loading/unloading the boxes, specially the little ones, they are many and painful.
I'm just finding it hard to justify industrial atm with how inflated UEX items sell for from combat stuff. 😭 asd drives take like 30 mins to do and sell for 5m each on UEX rn
but obv wayyyyy dif gameplay
Thats still a lot of grind
If money is your concern then yes player trading is the way nothing comes close.
pays better than both Salvage and Mining for a solo player on the time frame.
does anyone have any tips for finding the panels that give good RMC? I just started in a Salvation and mixing in some cargo runs while also filling my station
and is it worth it to seek out the panels or just scrape ship parts if i come across those first?
- go to any of the Lagrange points, for example CRU-L2, L4, literally any place having asteroids.
- just getting out the station while on QT mode, activate Scanning mode by pressing V
- Start pinging, mouse hover any of the 'unknowns'
- look for any signal with a pair number, 2000, 4000, 10k+, the bigger the better
Those will have Panels to scrape, best of luck 👍
@olive gull Im currently in CRU L4 after picking up a small cargo from the station. how far from the station works best?
not far, you can scan as soon you get out the hangar, yes it is true!
if lucky u may fing abandoned ships to scrape
like one of this
a big ship like this will have a 50k+ signal with a ⚡ symbol next to it
okay ill keep looking. maybe im just getting unlucky. how often are there no panels around a station?
go to a less crowded server and/or a less crowded Planet, like ARCorp
oaky. so trying to do a cargo run and then scrape along the way isnt a very viable strategy?
Would it be more efficient to just sell near ARCorp or fly back to Orison for more money?
Also, is ARCorp safe?
yes Arcorp is very safe,
where to go depends on you,
at Crusader (orison) the RMC is above 5k per scu
at Area18 price drops to 4k-ish per scu..
I would go to Orison, or even to GRIM Hex if you can't handle Orison's Lag
@cunning valve since you are on a Salvation with only 12scu, maybe it would be more efficient if you store the boxes on the nearest station
then take a cargo ship to go and sell when you have enough boxes
Where can you buy the OxyTorch Cutter multitool attachment? I've been using Universal Item Finder, but the places in Pyro that I've checked so far haven't had it, and I'm not terribly keen on checking EVERY SHOP LISTED if someone out there has some intel.
at the Terminals in any Cargo area or Refinery
... but apparently not any of those at Orbituary.
i think the clipper might be my new fav roc mining ship
can fit a geo on the ramp and some extra scu boxes in the storage and having the med bed as a abckup is so handy
not too hard to take it in? or out
i failed with the ATLS lol
have to use the tractor beam you cant walk it in but its not to hard no
is filling a ship with a bunch of buddies and ROC's feasible? I don't care about profit necessarily but wondering if 4-5 people could travel as a pack and mine lol
well me and a friend got two geos in my cutter and went around with that
so i dont see why not if you have a ship capable of carrying it all
the ship you are looking for is the Anvil Asgard
You could be might as well just use a bunch of geos at that point and hot drop mechs for the cool factor
so plan is - grab an asgard, spam global chat to recruit 20 GEOs and we hot drop them all in atmo to mine 20k worth of rocks 😎
where do i find quantanium
the... cargo capacity in SCUs ? we may need more context on that Column..
@olive gull it is under “Sell Commodities” tab. Basically has all the info on where to sell a certain material. And then this column is near the end
usually you mine it from asteroids then refine and sell it
its the available Container Sizes (CS), the boxes they will acept (or let you pick)
not all locations buy / sell all sizes
Okay so I can sell 124 1 SCU boxes in one go? I’m thinking of farming a ton of RMC off grid and then rent a ship to transport
yh i mean like which locations can i find a lot of it in
check this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8METe9B9L4
its from 4.2 but not much has changed in mining since then

kk thx
it can, bugged how?
Whats a good solo mole laser loadout?
Unless it's fixed in 4.5 none as they're bugged and can't be changed right now.
I did notice they were greyed out, I'm just sort of planning and hoping/coping that they'll fix that at some point
lot of "builds" I see show a Helix S2 on the front ... I picked up the teaches on a whim this weekend. But I'm wondering how much I could do with it. The other 2 lasers are Klein S2 which I imagine are limited
@olive gull I wasn’t able to scrape it. I moved to a nearby 10,000 and it worked fine
What do you mean with 10,000 or 12,000 The signatures just tell you how many panels there are
But the Panels its self are always the same standard ones
I don't know were your scrapping but maybe the first ones you tried were already scraped by others
@wet moat i dont know i turned on my beams and nothing happened. i didnt know if there were limits to each salvage ship and i wasn't able to scrape it. i guess it was just a bug because it didn't look scraped. it was just a solid grey panel
but it's good to know that the numbers are based on how many
I'm so torn about mining Levsky. Not having to transport goods is nice, but the rocks are a pain to get to and far apart.
Sorry for the really late response, but do you go to the same refineries for refining Construction Salvage as you do for mining and does it then turn into Construction Materials? I may just do it to say I've done it.
I was reading that Construction Materials was worth around 8.3k pure SCU on the low side so if that's true 32 SCUs of it is worth a fair amount more than 40k. Even at that price I'm not sure it's worth the time to do it more than once though.
yes, you refine construction salvage at the same refineries
Construction salvage doesn't refine at a 1:1 ratio though, you lose quite a lot of it from refining. I dont know what the ratio is though
To Construction Materials?
yes
Looks like maybe 5 to 1 if @random patrol is right. I bet he is.
Yeah I'd trust him on that
I'll do give it a try at the best refinery for it with the most efficient process and see. Just for the science.
Anyone know what the most cargo space you can rent (ship rental) is they days?
pretty sure its the RAFT, you can rent it at lorville
Ah, that's nice. A year and a half ago or so it as the Andromeda I think.
I have a soft spot for the Retaliator even though it might not be good to buy at the moment. I'm wondering if I bought it in game then bought the torp modules (about 9 million total I think) it would be worth it or not.
The hull HP has been nerfed a bit since the last time you played, but it also has 6 S2 shields now instead of 2
Its still has pretty good hull hp, but it isn't on par with a hammerhead anymore. The 6 shields does mean you'll be strapped for power, so upgrading powerplants is important
The interior also got a bit of a rework, All the components are accessable now, and its nicer on the inside
besides the HP and shield changes though, its pretty much the same ship. Its good at throwing torps if thats what you want to do
I wonder if it could even support six fr-76 shields with the top military power plants. I forgot how you read it on Erkul.games to find out ahead of time.
lemme see
yah definitely not
grade A military powerplants with full stealth shields, 1 cooler, and ballistic guns will get you full power to everything
so if you're never gonna have gunners that works fine lol
May just get an Eclipse instead. It's fun too. Can you loot stealth components (or any) off your own dead ship?
yeah
you can also remove the components while you're in your hangar, and then repair the ship to replace them. That does cost money though
I aught to buy a Talon too then. 😉
What other in-game ships are prime targets for looting?
I'm having a hell of a time finding Talons in any bounty of merc contracts. Vids from 4.2 show Talons spawned on LRTs, Gauntlet #5 and some merc contracts but not now in my experience. I've done hundreds of LRT and Gauntlet #5 now and not one.
prowlers have Grade A stealth S2 powerplants, but I believe you have to full kill them to get it out
Yes, I think you're right. As I recall the damn thing wouldn't go through the door or something.
yeah
Where's the best place to loot PDCs?
An abandoned player idris/polaris I imagine
the only way to get it from an NPC would be the polaris in gilly #8 I believe
I definitely have nothing to take down a Polaris is less than way too long right now. I know it's not supposed to be slowed.
hey guys is there any terminals in planets/moons that buy unrefinied ores directly?
not on planets or moons, those terminals are only in refineries on space stations
ah i dont wanna fly back to stations everytime . it would be nice to sell in planets itself , not in pyro too ?
nope, afaik there are only refineries on stations
aighty thanks XD
Anyone ever found a way to bed log in a Shiv? I can't find the thought button for logging out from either bed in the Shiv.
is a known issue , there is no way to do it currently
The thought button is there , bit no log out option
Its 15% so just take your scu total x .15 to find the final amount then round up.
I used 8.3k as an average but you can get more $ per scu out there. One c2/m2 is 200 scu of salvage which in the end after refining nets you 250k for one ship.
Hi guys, for the salvaging and 4.5 coming out, can salvagers make RMC scu crates to then put the RMC into canisters for the repair tools? 🙂
afaik the stores around stanton sell filled rmc canisters for the cmbio srt/cambio multi tool attachment, i dont think we'll ever be able to fill canisters from the scu crates
Ty Eej, I've just got home and double checked, seems like you can craft them full or empty on the Vulture at least, so I presume the other ships are the same 🙂 I'm glad! I'm wanting to have it all be self-sufficient 🙂
Can the printers print out canisters along with the tool and attachments?
You can also just visit ASD site once and get all the cannister you'll ever need lol
the printers can print the multi-tool and attachments not sure about the canisters tho. last i checked it does print em i'm not sure if it fills them or not
i've had to do that a few times forgetting to bring a maxlift or multi tool with me
the ones in ASD?
if you're talkin about those fabricators then yes they print the tool, the cambio srt lite, and the full cannisters
Question was for the ship printers, was answered as I typed it out
#industrial-professions message
Yeah ASD prints out filled only, and the blue boxes have tons of both filled and unfilled
like Fitz says, one ASD run and good for wipe
yeah the boxes with them seem to be everywhere now CIG wants to make sure you're not stranded apparently
they're even putting them in your ship for you
if your ship has onboard storage you get fuses and cannisters in the storage for you in 4.5
oh thats sick
nice of them to do that tho i imagine sometime next year they'll get rid of that, putting it there as a courtesy for new feature then once everyone has time to get used to it they stop giving the free handout
Stop giving free energy into energy drive
i think the hull-c bugs might give me an aneurysm
Try crying
Yeah just a lotnof box moving and box moving is pretty annoying with bugs and poor design
Like just allow us to repack box sizes
Mole still not letting us customize the mining heads?
did they 'fix' the argo ore pods vs misc ore (prospector):
it's the same volume. or is that really just the physical size of things
The bag themselves have the same volume
ARGO bags are still 12 SCU against only 8 for MISC
still bugged
Ouch!
It’s a bug. I just saw one the the PTU updates they listed a bug with the scrapping so probably on next LIVE patch it will be fixed
Yeah it sucks. The numbers are wrong and they are aware. We just didn’t got an update fixing it.
It’s supposed to be 15% less of the total. Not 15% of the total 😆
In the clase of the reclaimer it should get thr highest % output and then the vulture and fortune
Wonder if those 32 SCU will survive past a new patch. Probably not.
Mmm I don’t think boxes with resources get into the next patch
Only items
I never tried tbh
Next patch it’s probably in 2 weeks
Well if I don't get around to taking these to be refined, it will be the test.
Okay so freight elevators are new right? The ones outside of the hangar? Idk anything about them but they make hauling faster right?
Is there any reason to land in hangars for hauling now (aside from refuel)? Just use external ones for pick up and drop off
Makes offloading a reclaimer a snap.
Oooo. is it basically the same thing as the one in the hangar except a little more "exposed" and risky?
Do you need to request to use it or anything?
what would prevent a pirate to just wait for you to take out the load, kill you and take it all?
mmm the killing part... shooting is allowed inside hangars
would it be on the external elevator?
idk but all i see are easy preys..
You do you, booboo. PvP is my priority focus in this game for a reason. I invite a MFer to try their luck XD
who were talking about YOU in particular? think u are speciall? nope
Nah. I'm not. But neither are you lol
know.
still, my point of pirates is valid, what would prevent them to steal people's stuff?
even if there are turrets or killing is not allowed, all a pirate has to to is to target your boxes with a tractor beam and take them away
Im offloading in an armastice zone
The point he does have is... what's stopping a pirate from just yoinking the boxes?
or a griefer just throwing them off into space?
Dont know since I haven't ran into to any but ya never know
cuz they are all busy at Nix, but give them a couple weeks to get bored of it and return
You should try it out...for science
Maybe non party members cant touch the cargo or even do anything
Id say load a small ship...like an ox...and try it with someone...thats how you would know either way
Was looking at some new player income-earning opportunities, and came across hand mining in caves.
Have seen some videos/tutorials that show the basics, but it seems the payout in this build/update is very low? Wanted to check if that is indeed the case, and right now hand mining is not a good euec/hour option for the time being?
Id watch paint dry vs mining by hand
They'll be 2 busy whining about engineering
indeed, this tearing and durability shyt is a game killer... but we'll see
Fair enough, seemed like a chill way to explore and earn - but right now it's lacking the earn part. 😉
get a ROC and do the same while riding a tiny car, and it is far more profitable than hand mining.
Was looking at ROC mining as well, will def do that after I save funds for a ship that can fit one.
Glad to hear it's profitable; I kinda like the idea of melting space rocks and just relaxing.
the Nomad is best ship for it, or a Cutlass black
Yep, was 100% drooling over the nomad!
Dumb question, but does the Nomad have room for cargo boxes in addition to the Roc? Or does the Roc take up all the cargo grid?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kch0H20n5Xs&pp=ygUdc3RhciBjaXRpemVuIG5vbWFkIHJvYyBtaW5pbmc%3D
Old vid but vehicle sizes is same
In this video, we'll be checking out the Nomad ship - ROC mining combination!
The Consolidated Outland Nomad is described as a versatile, starter-class ship designed for players who want to explore the universe, trade goods, and enjoy a taste of the Star Citizen experience. It has been marketed as a great entry-level ship for players interested...
Ahh I see, I thought the ore had to go into an SCU box. Seems the Roc and the ship itself has enough "internal" cargo room so you don't need SCU boxes.
It would if you used an ATLS GEO instead. The GEO makes even more starters viable for gem mining. The GEO is also much less buggy in my opinion.
Is it really that fast compared to normal hangar? I usually unload around 1200scu
Yeah you dont have to land
you can just poop out boxes and go back to salvaging.
That and the station I usually goto has a refinery already....Terra Gateway.
So that skips a step....in Stanton not Pyro
Ok but when you throw them from the door do they fall into or just float around? I want to see if I try it but I’m not home yet
They float until you place them on the grid
I suggest not doing it alone either because its a PITA
with a lot of boxes
They can do that. There is a YouTuber that shows different showcases of the new elevators and people can take them without problem
need help with a reclaimer issue
What happened? I might help
so i cant do anything with the salvaging heads besides turn them on or off. cant move them around to scrap, but when someone else uses it in my ship theres no issues
Did you tried to put it back in the hangar?
ya been there tried that
Never happened to me and it’s super weird that only you cannot use it….
ive done so many things to try and fix it even clearning my cache making me reinstall the game
Mmm if you have time maybe you can try a character repair?
Besides that idk what to do, Orr a rallly weird bug
how do i try a char repair
and my game constantly gets a sound bug and crashes when im in this damn ship
like right now
!repair the little bot down below me should tell you how
➣ Exit the game and launcher.
➣ Click here, log in and start the repair.
➣ Wait at least 15 minutes before logging back in. Any less & it may fail.
• If possible, report your problem and steps to reproduce it on the Issue Council
• *TL;DR by design, you won't lose money, gear, ships, and reputation earned in-game.
Ooh that is. A current bug. Someone here said they got fixed it by deactivating the weapons? I think they mean put 0 energy to the guns I guess

guess ill go back and put ship away and try the repair option
and what is the cogwheel looking icon mean when your in salvage seat? sometimes it says on and sometimes off
iirc that says if the salvage room it’s working or not
So if you are in the scrap seat and the ship it’s generating boxes it should say ON
ahh ok
Is there a keybind to switch mining modules? I am not seeing one in the keybinds anywhere
just a little guy
Is refinery-to-ship loading working reliably in 4.4 or 4.5?
I found a 50% one the other day and cried
In 4.4 You can even load the refinery in too destroid ships
Sadly the Materials aren´t in the ship after claiming xD
It's been working
idk if it's changed but modules should be something like alt + 1, 2 or 3
The loading and unloading of me Raft gets so tiresome. Glad this is working.
ah, thank you so much!
I want a surge so hard to bust big nuts, where is it 😫
Try levski
what is the best ground mining vehicle rn?
refinary to ship works but not ship to refinery at least on salvage stuff
Where can i buy SCU containers in Lorrville?
Roc ... although I enjoy geo more
me, a reclaimer user
Hard pass on that ship
Ugh, when I look at a beautiful ripe rock in my Teach's mole and i can't crack it cos it's loadout is bugged, ugh.
Long Forest Station has them
Are the Teach modules fixed?
Naw, no modules/heads on the Mole can be switched around in 4.4. Bug. But I think people find hte Teach's Mole a little better than standard
(considering neither can be tweaked)
Are there no Bulk missions anymore? i only see 2 of them for interstellar with horrible payout and rookie rank, ive done so many of them and still havent gotten any better ones
im using a hull C so i really dont have other options
This is bad 😕
im also Senior rank with covalex and not a single good mission for hull c
They changed them. Rn hull c missions are trash as you cannot stack them
In the normal mole can the Module be changed. Only the Heads are fixed that's why it would be interesting if the modules on the Teach mole could be changed.
OMG I think you might be telling me that my Teach's heads are fixed but that I can add modules - which I've not done yet. OMG.
lol ffs
I have already changed the Modules on my mole but I don't have the money to buy theach mole.
Please tell us after you tried it
yeah i will. Klein on the right and Left, Helix on the middle. Time to go google
maybe you can't
Confirmed you can add modules - i've been running module-less!
Mods can be. Just not the heads
O I see he learned... maybe I should read more before I type =p
How's mining in Nyx? I'm new to industrial and thinking of grabbing a prospector
Nyx mining is ok at best atm
Only asteroid mining and nothing very big
Perfect for a prospector
Hello, i put the Argo mining bags onto my prospector, and just wonder how they work. If i claim my ship after its destroyed, do they persist, or do i need to buy new ones? i cant see them in the vehicle loadout manager. Do i need to store my ship and save the loadout, even if they're not in there?
If you claim your ship you need new ones.
thats rubbish :(
Since they are not default youll end up with the MISC bags again.
eh, better not die then
Also, sometimes, when im mining, i cant see the charge level of a rock. I think its not increasing, and then suddenly it explodes because i overcharged it and didnt see a bar. Any ideas why?
Yeah
2 things could be the reason
#1 you didn't give the rock enough time to scan
Sometimes due to server it takes longer
i scanned it and got all the composition stuff. Do i need to scan for longer after that>
#2 the rock is ready to be extracted
ahh i didnt think about that
it was 9SCU so yes it was ready
Aye happes sometimes
thanks for your help. New to mining o7
Np mining is the way
looking for surface rocks is a little frustrating
im flying at 5km altitude so i dont get the FPS rocks, im on terminus
90 degree scanning angle
Projector/golem or mole?
prospector
Terminus is decent... it's a big planet so you move alot slower there. Something to consider
I would have your scan set to 360 degrees, rocks arent hard to pick up on scan and its better if you can see all the rocks around you, not just whats in front of you
But has decent %
i do get some every now and again
how? The max angle seems to be 90
Dont enter scan mode, just fly around normally and hit tab to send out a ping
ah ok, shall try
Anyone with hosas have a clever method of mining laser power other than a lever or scroll wheel? Trying to find a way to control power while keeping my hands on the sticks
can't you bind it to your hats? Unsure but thought that was possible
I think i can but that seems rather imprecise
I haven’t tried using those yet though
Wishing i had a built in scroll wheel like the viprils
Hi, planning to do bigger ops with several people... What will be more rewarding/fun - mining ops with scouts miners and haulers (mby som security) or salvage with vultures and haulers.
What is a cSCU? I'm guessing 1/10th of an SCU????
1/100th
c for centi Like in centimeter or centiliter
yes
oh and your cargo ships for delivery also have their cargo storage listed in cSCU too.
I think depends on how many people and what ships you all have available.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVLWUTlifzU&t=1s
Hopefully this is allowed in here but here's a guy who films his org mining ops.
Gargantua Space Industries conducts orbital mining operation in Pyro System. Join us on Discord at https://discord.com/invite/RZ4bJrUCd6
#mining #starcitizen #idris #Carrier #engineering
oh this sort of vid is EXACTLY what I was aiming to find and watch today. Ta
got orgmates keen on a joint op
Yeah his videos are the first I've seen that made industrial look "badass" lol. Love them
oh well no way Im gettin idris in 4.4
I pledged for the Arrastra this IAE, cant wait to play with it. Gonna grind hella MOLE to become a master miner once 4.5 goes live to PU
Hopefully now on Friday prayge
aint no way im ever pledging for the Orion but I bet the drone mining will be great
praying that they'll have a weapon system so I can GUNDAM style attack an enemy if they try attacking the main ship
4.5 Wikelo has an Idris, will take a lot of grinding but it's possible if you have a decent sized group
Other fun fact a golem can fit in the Asgard along with ore cells
That'd be the Nautilus, kinda
My stuff is on a raft in Orison, trying to sell at the TDD and money doesn't go up and raft doesn't loose the goods. What's going on? Shit server?
Auto load / unload has always been unreliable
Server FPS is very low, will try to bounce around
oh yeah cuz no mines anymore :c
ye thats what Im waiting for tbh
Server performance seems bad everywhere (low FPS) so i'll have to do it by hand lol
Hey guys, are the Interstellar hauling missions that get you to pick up a load from a moon (e.g, Arccorp mining area 045) bugged at the moment? When I call up some cargo from the elevator, it's not there but its removed from storage, effectively bricking the mission
I just hope the Caterpillar gets refinery bays to swap for the cargo ones to use with the Argo spider miner. I really want to be able to turn it into a solo-friendly industrial barge
I want the big mining ship
But it’s probably not even in development
UnU
It looks so cool
I did one last night, worked fine then. So no, they aren't generally bugged, but bugs happen.
yeah I tried last night and had the same thing happen, so I wonder if it's that particular location
might try a contract for a different location
We'd need much bigger mining fields, or sub-surface mining eh?
Had some hauling contracts and delivered everything but some waste and scrap just went to my inventory instead of applying to the contract. It's at the destination but if I put in on the elevator, bring it back up and then bring it back down it still doesn't apply to the contract. What's up with that? Any tricks to get it to complete the contract like it should?
Is there any way to speed up a rock scan?
Earlier today I went to sell a bunch of stuff at Orison and the place wouldn't take Taranite. How often does that happen? And for how long?
Grab a Golem. It's fun
Fr
I really wanna do swarm like mining/ salvage
Idris deploying golems/ salvations
Maybe Orison was full?
I think most people sell at Orison and that's why they are on low demand.
The same happened to me with my crystals
How long until un-full usually? 😄
I don't. It's more a guess tbh xD
Hey all, any one got advice for how to earn more money doing hauling jobs, I got gifted a C2 by a random but max im earning from job is like 250K and I feel I’m not making money fast enough compared to other players, do I start earning more at higher level jobs?
not sure its a make money fast type of game
I was more meaning if there was a way or techniques to get rep up faster, but any advice for anything works
aUEC wise you're making bank, that's good money.
For rep you'll want to take the highest level missions available.
e.g. if you are Junior rank take junior missions, if you are member rank take member missions.
The lower level missions earn so little rep once you level up they aren't worth doing if rep is your concern
you need to get the covalex rank up then you´ll get 200-300k missions
but hauling is so severely nerfed its not even fun anymore
wasted months grinding for hull c only for the missions to be removed
Aight bet, thx
Does anyone have a good idea of a fun industrial Multicrew activity in current live?
My Org does a regular mining event every Sunday but with the Mole being broken 4th week in a row I am really desperate for alternatives that I can organize. Hauling wasn't good when we tried its more a solo thing doing it ina group makes no sense and Salvage isn't really in a good state either. Mining was always fun but Nyx is bad and Quant in Stanton is worse than last patch with broken Mole.
guess have to hope for 4.5 soon and that mining is not broken in it
Army of Prospectors is your best bet for quant now
Salvaging might not be in a good state but at least its consistent. You get a few players in a reclaimer and youll be set.
Mining in smaller ships like a golem. Use a base ship and smaller transports to swap ore pods. Make it complicated!
Idris packed with golems and a ton of spare bags. Go out and mine the shit out of a location, depositing into the idris
Mole is fine if u use Teaches but as others have stated above can use a transport for bags. Most claim something big like idris which is a complete waste of time and effort. What I recommend is cargo guys run smaller stuff like asgards/ star maxs/ etc and roc/geo mine while miners fill bags. That way money is always being made and everyone is doing stuff with little down time.
You also have the benefit of more people looking for rocks. Just need to pick a place that has good % for both rocks and gems
anyone wanna help me crack a rock? calculated it to have just under 87SCUs of Quant
hey mind if i join you if its not too late? want to learn the ropes
For CybarianK. Try a big Roc, Roc-ds, and Geo gem mining adventure in Pyro.
Shit ton of PTV's and host an org rally race on pyro. Shake things up with a single fighter above shooting at the racers. Lots of carnage and fun lol
I only have a prospector :(
Got 4m of stuff sold before bed so it all worked out in the end 🙂
if my friend is in my ship how can we get his cargo for a hauling mission? can he access the cargo elevator from my hangar?
he should be able to yeah
16, 24, 32
When we will get this box sizes?
what loadout should i run on mole for 2 person mining of quant?
cuz helix i believe for the main one but
what about gadgetz
and support lasers
Default, because you can't change mining heads this patch.
Just pick up the modules.
Rieger-C3, Surge...
Without the bug, dual power Helix + a low power head, either Hofstede + 2x Focus or Impact + 3x FLTR-XL, that one's good for filtering.
i thought you said you cant change mining heads
Without the bug
*In normal times
oh ok
ill juyst copy that loadout then
you got impact 2 as 2nd laser there but its there without any gadgets on it
without any mod*
btw what do u mean by dual power
ig just impact on 1 of the side lasers and hofstede on theother?
thgen ill have both options
You can edit the sheet, only modules that directly impact power are available.
It's a power calcutator to know what rock you can crack.
okok
^
any idea where i can find a rieger-c3, not showing where it is on cstone
This Impact loadout is all the low power you'll ever need with ship sized rocks + filters inert materials out.
The Hofstede with Focus has extremely low power, but doesn't filter inert materials. However, with practice, you can use it to mine hand/ROC mining sized rocks.
Levsky
ok and if i run with a friend and we use 2 lasers, 1 on the helix and the other one can help crack if its very big from another laser?
and if impact and hofstede both low power ig i can just use impact as i only want quantanium anyways
^
Dual helix.
so i guess for now i cant switch them out right? atleast i cant in vehicle manager and im guessing theres no workaround
Correct.
Helix 1 laser

levski FIRST terminal on services… Others do not show reiger c3
Only in Nyx....there are no Reigers in Stanton or Surge modules.
Or Boremax
ig now just gotta wait for them to fix the laser changing
You and everyone else.
Fwiw they also removed Lawson and Klein mining lasers....at least at the stations ive been checking.
I just bought a teaches and kept on mining. Can't stop won't stop
What Modules are you using. Especially for the 2 side miners?
My boys and I usually run solo moles and just call each other in when we have bigger rocks to crack so I don't really use side lasers much. Plus the kliens are pretty ass. On the Helix I use Stampede/surge/surge. Alittle tricky but allows you to crack 40k+ mass rocks and doesn't offer any of the downsides like the reiger so I never need to move to a diff laser
- always carry extra mods on me so I can change on the fly if need be
Does everyone or the spawn rate is so low for popular commodities that I always stumble upon low SCUs what do you guys usually run
Does Nyx have a good cargo center along with a refinery and a proper TDD? What is it missing?
I can get 200 scu of Gold at Lathan. But the top tier commodities may have less scu.
As funny as this sounds I use Polaris for cargo so 576 SCU 😗
Such a good mobile base
I had the Odyssey for a long long time but gave it up
That's cool also but Hurston area has like 2 more Gold spots. I've done freight with a 890j.
Oh sick
Ive done all sorts of commodities
Having to server hop to fill up my grid
I've also been using the Gemini with the fuel pods ripped off. Nice room inside it.
Question on SC Trade Tools:
I was looking for a good route to do with a C2 Hercules in Stanton. Just for fun, I used 20m as initial investment, profit-over-time setting, 2 stops max, and armistice zone security.
The "best" route comes out to be food at like 13.5k UEC/min.
However, when I use a much smaller cargo ship (like an Asgard) with all the same settings, it returns a best route value at 29k UEC/min.
How does a ship with roughly 3x the cargo space earn less than half as much as the smaller ship?
Maybe i'm not understanding how this tool works, but something def seems incorrect.
Thanks for any clarification.
The best route tool doesn't work very well in my experience. It will show you some options, but not necessarily everything and not necessarily the best.
but part of the problem is the supply of the higher value goods tends to be limited, so if you are telling it you have C2, it will give you things that you can buy enough of to fill a C2, which you can't do (in any reasonable amount of time) with the "better" routes. So the aUEC per minute isn't really calculated correctly when you account for time spent waiting for the terminal to refresh, or loading tons of 2 scu boxs (it's purely travel time I believe).
Ahh ok, the limited quantity issue makes a lot of sense - thank you
There is option to mark 100% sure that will be able to sell all vulume
Has anyone had their radar scan markers for mining disapear? I can see the many dots, but not the < 13km marker. Annoying
could someone advise what upgrades i should buy for my prospector?
it happens from time to time, sucks
i flipped to scanning mode and it might have fixed it
Scanning rock composition is so slow 🙁
between lancet mH2 or helix 2 for prospector mine quantinium what u guy recomment??
helix will crack bigger rocks, but can be a real pain for small rocks. Charge window can be like 2 pixels wide sometimes
Is the ROC-DS completely not worth it?
yeah pretty much
yeah if it had two mining lasers so that both people could mine at the same time it might be OK. But one driver / one miner = stupid
need help i cant figure out how to quantum while towing in srv
Thats an easy one. You cant.
It depends
I have a different opinion. The best use of this is for areas that have rougher terrain. It drives a lot better. Also the beam range is better and the storage may be bigger??? So, if you have 2 players they can rotate the two positions and solo is great also.
Why terrain if you can fly.
Untill they going to separate different resources for hand, car, ship and make them have same auec per hour, the hussle with driving on car is waste of time.
Also caves and hand minable resources should be more valuable but unminable by other means.
So the time you spend crawling with other dudes in caves, placing modules on rock, and then mine it by hand, and get out, fly in and out, should be included in the price of hand minables
I’m on mobile but is there a pin for like ideal mining loadouts/attachments for the golem and prospector?
Trying to get back into mining tonight and going to do stuff around pyro
Any salvaging tips for ships in armistice zones where you can’t use the hand tractor? I tried towing them out farther with the shops tractor beam but it was too big
Id like to strip the guns and cargo and such, not just rmc
Wait, you can't use the hand tractor in armistice zones? Are you kidding me? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. So when salvaging, I need to waste time and LAND to empty out the recycler? Why don't you just remove the cargo bay then and just have the recycler? Or better yet, just remove salvaging altogether, as you are evidently working hard to make it less and less viable every update.
If you can't break into the ship to move it outside the AZ, just move on to another one.
yeah you cant, it happene3d to me before when i was tryhing to move boxes inside and the tracktor didint even turn on xD
even inside my own ship
this is becuase they dont have a better system to handle "illegal" stuff for now
in case of salvage, they could fix it quickly with just giving a timer on the ship on armistice zone so the ship appears as "abandoned" anbd you can move it or scrap it
there are ton of abandonbed ships in planets
I got a CS 1 for firing on an abandoned ship in the AZ. No biggie really. Just move on.
I'm not sure if this is allowed-is there a discord community where you can find traders? Kind of irritating trying to find military parts in global chat LOL. I wasn't sure if there was a channel here or community somewhere? can delete this if its a no-no
Do hauling contracts actually give you a few minutes extra before they expire? I was cutting it very close and thought a contract was going to expire on me but they didn't.
I think the expiring date you see is it falling off. I've never had a contract expire that I accepted. Or maybe I'm just fast. But I interept that as when the contract will disappear from the list of available.
So you've left it way past the normal two hours or so and it's paid you?
I think i nver got a ontract expired
I think the expired time its just on the missions board?
I'll have to test this.
yep, lemme see if i remeber the command !market

Can you sell contract commodities for dead contracts at gimhex or the don't ask terminal at L5?
Probably not worth the trouble.
TY! That was what I was missing. 🙂
Hope they fix the salvaged material refining in 4.5 so it 85% (15% reduction) instead of a 15% yield.
Nothing in the patch notes...
Is the mole still fucked? meaning unable to change heads
OK so not easily resolvable. The salvage missions keep putting them close so maybe i should go look on planets for the random spawned ships
Yeah, I tend to see if people leave their ships unlocked, or open. If you are looking for abandoned ships, typically you'll find plenty around mission areas, outside lagrange stations, and if you're lucky, a Reclaimer that got abandoned.
Makes sense, I’ve just been grabbing contracts. Will be nice when the liberator comes out so i can haul around a salvage and have plenty of storage
And by illegal you mean moving stuff around your own cargo bay?
not moving your own stuff its a secondary effect of not having a propped system to handle ilelgal stuff so we all get punished
More than a decade in development and almost $400mil burned and we still get this shit
For that amount of time in development and that amount of money, this game should have been absolutely perfect, and making you a coffee and giving you a blowjob at the same time. Just saying...
I hear they're hiring. just saying...
Well, good, maybe they can hire some developers that actually know what they're doing...
I mean.. they have created one of the largest and most innovative gaming experiences in the 21st century but you’re right they don’t know what they’re doing
I mean, they do know what they're doing. But for that amount of money, for that long, this should have been light years ahead of where it's now.
Can anyone telll me if i can sell refined material in nyx?
What's the going price to players for quant right now?
Looking on UEX I see 100m to 50k auec per SCU, which is a bit of a wild range
I assume you mean CMATS - https://uexcorp.space/commodities/info/name/construction-materials/tab/locations_buying/
@random patrol umm ive been on that page and i don't get it. i mean when i mine for materials like lindinum, bexalite ect. and then refine them, where should i sell ?
The commodity shop in Levski buys Bexalite and lindinum
And what "dont you get" about using UEX?
@random patrol i dont even get if the prices mean selling to players or to npc. and where can i find the info where lindinum is bought for example?
ok i think i found it now (the info where its bought)
but when i check where lindinum is bought, it means refined lindinum? or am i not refining lindinum?
Thats refined lindinum - https://uexcorp.space/commodities/info/name/lindinium/tab/locations_buying/
@random patrol ok thanks. and would you happen to know how to get out into the glacier belt in nyx? should i accept some type of contracts that give me a quantum point to hop? or just fly away from levsky?
I would use a contract to QT somewhere away from Levski to avoid being pirated.
or you could just fly away....I havent been in NYX much in 4.4
kk ty
GL HF 🫡
@random patrol Thanks, you too o7
I'm testing the Starlancer MAX and am so impressed that you can transport 224 SCUs in the grid and still have a large vehicle or several small ones too. I bet you could live dangerously and pack close to 300 SCUs in it if you weren't worried about a bunch being off grid.
People will pay any price tbh
Is quant measured in (and other minables measured in 100th or 1000ths of an SCU? Can't remember.
Either way it's a lot of quant right?
Darn! I'm bummed that I can't get a Pisces into the back of a StarLancer MAX. Don't think the Krugers either. I'm assuming a Fury or two will fit.
Fitted a salvation into mine
(No landing gear)
Smallest combo for salvaging
The humble pyro multitool with SRT salvage attachment would beg to differ
You can get a razor, m50, P52/P72 and multiple furies in there
The Starlancer TAC is also pretty handy for non industrial loops. Has the identical vehicle bay with 96scu, and a Fury vehicle bay on top
Ngl
Price to worth ratio
Of the starlancers is unmatched
Its a great multiple vessel
That could be operated solo IF you are not actively doing combat
Is the assets page in game not working? All mine does is say loading
I know I have some cargo sonewhere
classic SC - sometimes maybe yes, sometimes maybe no
Its been that way a while
question about mining: After cracking a rock, at how many % of the good materials you extract the junks? any? or like over 30% ?
Depends on how long you want to wait to fill up, and the value of the minerals you are mining.
@analog patrol ok but is there any % number you definately skip, always? (i was cracking taranite, and had chunks with 23% and i wasnt sure if i should take it or not)
Eh, I wouldn't usually bother with something that low unless it was Quant.
kk ty
For me it always depends on how full my ship is. If I'm 1/4 full, i'll be picky. Filling up the last few SCU? Yeah, I'll take anything, as it's not worth flying around looking for a better rock just to crack it and have to leave most of it behind.
It depends on the total SCU too, percentage alone is nothing.
23%, but it fills the whole ship, it's pretty nice. Quick run. Depends on the ore too. Definitely not picking up a full load of Tier 3 ore.
Well.. just finished a fully loaded caterpillar delivery of hauling missions. 5 of those were extra small 🙁
nice little sum of creds
So with normal mole bugged is it worth getting the special trying too mine quant
which lasers does the mole from levski come with
I couldn´t imagin doin this withput external elevators xD
Have the devs ever talked about adding a primary weapon mining tool similar to the tractor gun and SRT gun?
No, and it would have to have its own new kind of rocks, so probably won't ever be a thing
Because the multi tool can already mine by itself all the rocks that are made for it, there isn't a "that one is too hard" kind of thing.
And the next step is GEO/ROC sized rocks, so if mining gun was supposed to be better than multi tool, would it mine the same as GEO/ROC ? But then what are those two for ?
Mining gun could be "multi tool but easier and faster", but most would rather carry a gun than larger multi tool that does the same thing as multi tool.
I was thinking the benefit would bein a larger/easier to manage display and has a better suction ray to pick up more gems. Because unless I'm doing it wrong, you have to stop firing the laser in order to adjust the laser intensity?
You also can't see fracture progress unless the laser is active
you can go into an ads mode with the multitool laser and change the intensity without turning the laser off (Dont´t ask me how😅 )
the 2H laser might also have the ability to detect nearby gem deposits since I can't find a better method of finding them than waving my gun around and looking for a yellow outline
You can't ADS
You should totally be able to change power while mining, maybe make a short vid and it'll be easier to tell what you might be doing wrong
There may be bugs with it this patch but then I'm not aware of it.
Making a video wouldn't help because it wouldn't show my attempts to scroll the mousewheel
Tried Alt + mouse wheel too ?
No?
Very old.
ah ok
last time idid hand mining is about 3 yeahrs ago
didn´t kno it was changed xD
Yeah, a while ago.
Sucks cause now you're forced to stare at this extremely bright laser and not see shit around you
And also multi tool screen is tiny
anyways, I'm realizing far too late that I should have brought flares
the 2h mining laser could also have a flashlight attachment. So basically I do think there's room for one to exist but as a QoL improvement for geologists and spelunkers
OH
I've just been using my gun as a flashlight this entire time
oh, T also works for the light on the GEO (which, tragically, cannot fit into the cave)
So do the first cargo missions just pay a pittance compared to the time it takes, and they get a lot more profitable?
It mostly gets better with larger ships that lets you stack multiple contracts at once.
You can rent a RAFT for that.
I like the loop for breaking up the other missions, but just wondering if it’s more a labor of love lol
Would hauling in a corsair ever be worth it? Or do you need a bigger ship?
Corsair is fine but it's not ideal, ship is big, slow, unpractical for that amount of cargo.
With good off grid use in the Corsair, capacity is similar as of the RAFT, but still isn't anywhere near as good for hauling.
Thanks for the info!
Are there any multi-crew salvage ships other than the reclaimer?
Vulture can be 2manned
How do I tell apart the rocks in the Hathor mines that I can mine with the ATLS and which ones I can only use hand mining on? Cuz Ive had it happen way too often I start an min power and immediately overcharge and die
there are only a few ATLS sized rocks in the hathor hole. If they're about the same height as your character, then they're meant for a geo. If they're smaller than that, they're meant to be hand mined
alsp, the geo has a lower and a high power mode. High power is for the bigger rocks, but low power lets you mine hand-mineables pretty safely. You can switch between them with left alt +4
Alright, thanks!
Apart from the Reclaimer, there isn’t much true multiplayer salvaging.
If you really want to do it, one friend could fly a transport ship and store the RMC boxes from a Vulture or another small salvage ship.
The best industrial multicrew gameplay right now is probably mining.
Either use a MOLE, or have each friend take an Atlas GEO and bring a large transport ship to collect the GEOs and haul them to a crystal mining location.
All required vehicles can be rented for this.
The best rental MOLE is the Teach variant available at Levski.
mining people, quick questions.
is the optimax just a better sabir gadget?
also, how do i properly equip the boosts on my mole
also, is there some better mining laser for the mole? i have the techs special mole and im wondering if its good or if i can get any better laser for it
for mining in pyro, where would you recommend going to refine quantanium?
i dont believe you can swap any mining heads rn but for mining big quantanium rocks i got the advice of running 2x reiger c3 + surge on the helix head
i solo mine in the mole
so i cant do 2x
Rieger C3 is a module, not a mining head.
Current bug is that you can't swap mining heads, not modules.
Optimax has a nice cluster bonus, but it isn't as good as Sabir for resistance, and clearly much worse for the optimal charge window size.
For large rocks, Sabir performs better.
And instable ones too.
.
btw
Check !regolith
Use the website to search for ore location, optimal mining loadouts and the best trade locations
It doesn't matter in Pyro tho
its more abt like me trying to be safe
dont wanna mine a full load just to get blasted by going into a zone that has the highest chance of running into people
but im guessing then PYR-ST or ST-PYR are the best?
id expect a higher chance of running into people at the CZ stations
how do i equip that once i bought it
thanks, i never really changed anything on ships before lmao
looked at cstone which said i can get it on the pyro jump point in stanton, but i cant find it in the shop
is there any other module/changes to the mole ud recommend ?
^
Default head only has two slots, so either full Rieger or only one with Surge
even the teachs special head?
i head that automatically has the advaced head or something
Idk what loadout this has
helix 2
Nice
the surge module says "uses 7" does that mean it has to recharge then or is it gone when they are used up and i have to replace it
It recharges when you land and repair
👍
Sometime the repair doesn't give back all charges so carry extra
I get the Atlas GEO is a different gameplay loop than the standard prospector or mole mining. But is it worth your time if youre trying to make aUEC?
I think it's the most interactive loop next to a Mole.
- You can directly sell and dont have to wait for a refinery
Yea I get that its new gameplay. But is it profitable?
Will you make anywhere as much as you would going out with a mole?
I dont have any numbers but feel like FEYNMALINE mining is its time worth
**"Does it make more money than the mole?" **
It depens on your set up.
-Are you having a rented ore a own Mole? And Which one do you have?
-Do you want fast pay out or do you want to wait for the refinery
I own the base mole, 2x atlas geo, 2x roc, prospector, golem
What ship do you like to use to haul your atlas around?
I like yousing my cuttless and i am backing some extra Backs for the Atlas
I haven´t used a Basic mole this patch with its mining head bug. Tho i can´t compare it. The rentet Theach one was okish to use. I dont have direct numbers tho unless someone here corrects me. I would say do the thing that you find the moste fun and interresting
I've never used the Geo, but the Cutty Black has always always my go-to with the ROC
C1 is my goto now, mainly because the ramp is better to navigate, before they took the suspension off the Roc the Cutty was mine too lol
You will make around 600k a hour if u get after it
Thats kinda on the high side, selling it is often the problem cause most places won't take ot all
That being said I recommend the roc > geo simply due to bag size. Having to unload more then once or twice a field takes time
Geo I found works better as a duo
479 cSCU of quant will come out to how much scu?
how much quant is this
like i dont get why it doesnt just tell me the scu
is that 4?
i guess its 40 ?
if thats 40 that would mean i have like 900 now lmao
Can I take a hauling contract, load it up on my ship. Log off. Then log on again the next day and go finish the delivery? Or will I lose the contract when I log off? I’d like to load up a lot of stuff. But then save it and finish the delivery the next day if I can.
Can the carrack haul large boxes? I wasnt able to get them to snap to the grid.
Not sure about the biggest ones, but I usually just throw eveything in the back ramp area. And haven’t had any issue yet. The cargo bays on the sides are a pain.
c stands for Centi, like in the metric system.
Refineries round up, so 479 is 5 SCUs.
Check the pins
And μ is micro. 10^(-6).
Contracts are lost when you log out
Thank you!
Ahh bummer.
There's no such thing as a 40 scu box, so it must be 4. Also it's 4,000,000 and micro = move the decimal point 6 places = 4.0. I agree, it's annoying that the freight elevator lists everything in micro SCU.
- 4.79, which gets rounded up (nice of them, eh?)
is there literally any way to increase the instability timer of quant?
No. 25min is pretty nice compared to the 15 it used to be
And it can decrease if you take damage, from shots or collisions.
If you send unrefined quant down the freight elevator, then bring it back up does the timer start over? Just curious.
It pauses when stored and resumes when brought back.
Good to know
one last ping, i refined alot of quant today already
just wanted to
refine more
and it tells me i dont have enough balance
i clearly have enough balance
in the shop my balance turns negative for some reason
now im sitting on about 40 scu of mined quant that i cant refine.
Do you have more than 2.1 bil aUEC ?
That's the problem.
(2^31)-1
2 147 483 647.
Maximum integer on 32bit systems.
PCs are 64bits nowadays, but going over this numbers still causes bugs in a lot of games because of how they're made.
Basically when you go over this number, your balance becomes negative. It'll become positive again if you go over double this number, or if you get rid of extra cash.
how do u not manage to properly track balances
14 years.
there is tons of ways around byte limits
i am over the double of it.
Nobody was ever meant to get more cash than this, the market has been fed by cheaters
ngl, that is a dumb statement
like, someday someone will get that money once cig stops with their wipes
That is the truth but ok 👍
You have no clue how the economy will be when the game is finalized.
Nobody knows. But that kind of thing will be worked out.
Whatever, I was here to give you the answers as to why your shit isn't working, not debate.
Get rid of extra aUEC.
Ya give me some.
Kidding. That would make the game boring then. I wanna work for it! 🤘🏼
I’m almost to a million.
the tech debt on this codebase must be insane fr
When people are buying rare backpacks for 200 billion (not exaggerating) the economy is fuxed
That's like 300 890js
doesnt excuse the problem tho
if gaming, especially online gaming and mmos shouldve taught anyone anything its that people will always chase big numbers, someone getting this kinda money was inevitable, even without fucked economies
Division 2 extreme damage builds have negative damage because of it going over 2^31
ok, how does that relate to this?
It's not a rare issue. And often not very impacting either.
both problems are dumb
For every studio.
ur trying to excuse one dumb thing with another
No.
I'm not really debating. Any massive org that pools money will pretty quickly build a bank in the millions. Get 500 people in the org making 10mil a week, you take 10% org take, making 500mil a week... math
But right now it's not an org effort. The game economy says "this ship is the pinnacle of expensive ships", and then you can now exploit a bug to trivialize getting the most expensive item in the game, it's broken.
I'm just saying large number issues are always going to be an issue because of the very nature of computers, online or MMO doesn't change it, and the above I said still applies. Nobody was ever meant to have that amount of money, and it will likely be prevented when the game and its economy are ready for 1.0.
Anyway, this is very far from #industrial-professions now.
Keep going in #star-citizen or something
ill remind u when 1.0 drops and this happens lmao
I'll throw my hat in this pointless argument. Still having a 32 bit limit is annoying, there are ways around it in the backend (runescape just did it). However I also agree no one should have that much to begin with. Anyone who can earn that much money should have an equally harsh money sink.
Is it worth renting a vulture if I have a salvation? I lose 1 abrade but gain a lot more storage.
definitely
Ya I agree the economy is going to be very different I imagine by the time this game is ready for 1.0.
especially if you aren't using the salvation in conjunction with a cargo ship
Gotcha, thanks
Anyone ever find Mole belt mining worth it? Always feels slower than planet mining to me
And how can you tell if your stored pods have ore in them or not?
sill no salvage fix?
What's going on with salvage?
have I stuffed up with the Hull C. i bought Iron at the terminal, can i not go the cargo area out side a request cargo and auto load?
likely only mission cargo
that sucks. So the Hull C you can't do buying and selling with
oh good question. Maybe only at elevators for loading - external
problem with external elevators I get a warning after just a few minutes to leave the area
Get closer? You might be in the way of a Hull C box?
numbers are wrong in the refinery for salvage, oyu get 15% of totral instead of 85%\
Getting bored of mining Celling in my Mole. Anywhere else recommended?
You can't tell the pod apart. There is no indicator
There's actually a green line indicator but it lies , 😭
Ask me how i know 😭
That looks as if its changed in 4.5 per cig
JFC, I made a landing with Quant and about 10 seconds to spare. The ship was going down and it, kinda, shook a bit - which I think was the timer going but the ship didn't explode and there are minerals to refine, so I think I got it "locked" safely as soon as I hit "store" oof
Did you change your undies afterwards?
Absolutely. Glad not to have lost that load
Use the terminals in the lobby so you don't have to wait for the ship to go down the elevator.
There wasn't enough time. I think I was on 1 minute as I entered the hanger, maybe a bit less 😮
I have a hunch that the monent I hit "store" on the hanger pad I was safe
This would have to be further tested, I don't think that's true.
🤷♂️ the ship kinda 'bucked" as it went down and there was a kinda "puff" underneath it. I don't know if it was the quant or not but either way I was safe 😄
So is the drake corsair no good for solo's now that engineering is in?
Depends what you do with it, I watched my buddy solo the combat gauntlet in his corsair last night all the way up to the hammerhead without repairing. Lots of variables in there but yea
yeah i did the same i had to reload before hammerhead though since i went all ballistic
corsair is still perfectly fine to solo
I'm glad too cause the corsair is my fav. That and the asgard
Oh I've just been stockpiling rmc
Agreed
You know that gets wiped in a patch?
Do any of the contracts for covalex hauling give more rep than others? e.g. mediums give more than small or longer distances give more, etc? or is it just about completing as many contracts as possible?
Higher rank contracts give more rep. All contracts of the same rank give same rep.
I sold the rmc but stockpiling the cs...
It still goes
Unless im mistaken
Ohhh great I got a 1000 scu...at Orison
Any commodity or consumable usually goes
sell them now while you can
They won't sell unless refined
Refine ¯_(ツ)_/¯
seems like i have the same question as above
But I have salvage from a reclaimer a lot of SCU
brought it all to new babbage
unloaded it
and I cant sell
Construction Salvage?
from what I understand I have to refine it but dont know where I can do that in Stanton system preferably
and if I do dock the reclaimer am I able to unload it into a space station?
In refineries. Same place where miners refine their ores.
See the list of refineries on !regolith ⬇️
Use the website to search for ore location, optimal mining loadouts and the best trade locations
Use external freight elevators. Or load the cargo into a ship that fits into large hangars.
I could sell it at the Raw Ore Sales terminal?
Ok so I have the ship in a large hangar
but regolith doesnt show construction materials / construction salvage as an option
regarding this
Where is your ship docked at?
When will 4.5 come to the ptu?
It was at port tressler
also is there a best refinement method for construction salvage?
I think its feron exchange because its highest yield together with the Dynx Solvation
Feron is a bit more costly but Dynx takes a lot more time.
considering they are no longer pushing daily patches for PTU...
i would say the path on live is imminent, maybe tomorrow? we dont know but i doubt it goes beyond this friday.
Start refining now and if it completes: Good, if it doesnt, well... at least you tried.
oh ok
It sounded like the patch is coming in the next few hours or somthing like that xD
I dont even know where my cargo is because assets doesn't work
Doesn't matter, you just wanna know where are the refineries.
Same place where miners refine their ores.
Port tressler does not have a refinery deck unless im mistaken
It doesn't
You can literally click a station on the map and it will show you what the station provides
If you ONLY have CS take it to the closest refinery and get it refined before the patch hits. But in my sad case I might sell it as raw "Ore" to save time. Good luck. Ps Do you know about the rear chute crate dump method?
For future reference just take the ship to a station with an external cargo elevator AND a refinery.....such as the Terra Gateway or Pyro gateway station....this way you skip all the steps of unloading and moving them. You can also SELL the refined CMATS here.
Do you have to grind rep to get large salvage claim missions for the Reclaimer?
Not that I know BUT you dont need them. Just go find ships and salvage them.
Just wait till 4.5....I bet there will be plenty of abandoned ships laying around.
abandoned perseii
Is It worth it to grind hauling rep?
yeah. Hauling is at the moment one or THE best paying Industrial gameplay
(As far as i heard other talking about it😅 )
im a member rank and they only pay 80-90k
so i was wondering if the pay increases buy a good amount nexyed couple ranks
yeah they will get bigger and with more money also bigger container
im not trying to do 7 missions just to make 300kXD
I dont have direct numbers maybe others will have more direkt experiences
Is it possible to sell unrefined minerals to a friend? And have them refine it?
With the patch looming I wouldnt refine anything.
Unless you want to lose it
Where do you sell Commodities at levsky
