oh you have to deploy the turret first... ๐ฎ
damn they really cooked with the OX..
There is a serious flaw with exiting the turret and holding the Y key slightly too long xD
the ship yeets you out even if you are flying well above the ground with ample graviity...
I felt my kneecaps crunch
man i got maybe 3 missions done with hull-c and now it refuses to load x-x
Hey, does the vulture Auto unloads on the Grid?
Iโm currently salvaging panels, and I noticed a bug.
You can drain a panel completely, then fly a few hundred meters away until itโs out of render range. When you come back, the panel has fully regenerated, and you can drain it again.
No u have to do it manuel. The ubside is u can stack them aslo off the grid. Combined with the storage i take about 38 SCU per run, others might get even more
ok question. i understand theres different mining heads and i know u gotta not burn the rock but as someone who's only done cargos what do ya'll suggest to learn first?? salvaging or mining? and do i just get the vulture or is the fortune worth starting with?
Salvaging is easy to learn, you can rent both from Teach's at Levski
ok i mean i assumed vulture would just be the only one worth getting but as a mostly solo i wasn't sure and wanted to ask
is it worth renting or buying them? cause for me i'd rather just rent the raft for cargo but i figured for mining atleast i'd have to buy for mining heads but wasn't sure about the vulture needing to buy or not
Fortune and vulture are both comparable but for a simple answer if u wanna load one up in a bigger ship and transport it then go fortune... if you want a stand alone go vulture cause it can hold more off the grid. Both solid.. can rent and test... unlike mining when renting won't allow you to change mining heads salvaging is pretty plug and play
There are other pros and cons but that's the giest of it
with the changes to rmc/cmat prices, is scraping then cracking worth the time or is it now better to just instantly crack? (assuming a fortune or vulture)
Cracking if u have the ship supply
But dealing with a ton of 1 scu boxes is a pain in itself
And you will have a ton just cracking
yea i don't have any big ships im just a newer player whos done cargos trying to get out of member rank. and i was just wondering because of engineering possibly coming next month i was figuring i need to learn more of this stuff so i wanted to know which i should learn first i've watched someone mine on stream i just know its alot of work lol
I would rent then
Honestly salvaging is not in a great place right now money wise
So worth learning
yea well i got the money to buy the vulture so i was just asking and like i said im trying to figure out for engineering. cause cargos get boring lol
yea im trying to do cargo right now cause i was trying to get out of member rank since they gave us free 0 money rentalls on hullc and other ships i figured i'd see if i could maybe get lucky and make some cash with it lol
Yeah cargo prob still best industry money atm
yea just boring doing solo. lol but then again just doing small cargos is probably why
Are the Vulture/Prospector kind of the definitive "best solo ship" for their respective professions?
Cuz I'm assuming the Arrastra won't be effective with just 1 person.
i really want to get into solo mining, but last time i tried i got frustrated with how many rocked said impossible. where should i start to make it profitable enough to keep at it?
Are u using the stock mining heads?
i dont even know where to start
There are many many very good yt videos that explaine the machanik in detail

Welcome to Mining 101, the first episode of my Definitive Star Citizen mining tutorial series for Alpha 4.0 and beyond!
In this video, Iโll walk you through a high-level overview of the mining gameplay loop in Star Citizenโfrom surveying and fractu...
ill look into that thanks!
The rocks lie when they say impossible. You can still sometimes crack impossible rocks
What's aUEC price of a Mole?
foolishly took a bulk haul contract with the Hull C to HUR-L1. Is it possible to unload the damn thing?
No Hull C unloading isn't supported at the L stations. Unless you cross load it into a C2 or multiple C2s then offload into a freight elevator. Sadly they don't have external FEs yet either.
Have they fixed the % yield bug for cmat for the Reclaimer?
Thanks ๐ ..time to abandon the ship and claim it somewhere else lol
Yeah probably the best option!
Haven't played since hauling update. Is "free hauling" (idk what to call it) still a thing that's worth doing? Buy low sell high.
Or is basically all a contract hauling game now?
i guess it could be called cargo trading vs cargo hauling
what do i do with construcion rubble?
Refine
is there any special place to sell it once i refine it or just anywhere?
is worth refining an all that?
wait we have rental salvage ships now?
is there a way to see where stuff can sell and all that
Sc-trade.tools
ok awesome thank you very much
Yeah at Levski, take the elevator from hangars and habs to Teach's ship shop
There's a rental desk, I believe they have mining ships with custom loadout too
I have not read anything from CIG that those percents are wrong. CM' s true value is in future crafting so I suggest only gathering RMC for now.
Can we stop parroting this nonsense? Even without crafting they are creating a simulation of functioning economy until the systems that will move the economic wheels is in place. It should still be a viable career path even without crafting. More to the point, this is the latest change to salvaging and the only change in a long time. They nerfed RMC to were meant to increase rewards for CMATS to push more people to try CMAT gathering and processing and thoroughly test it. While they did technically improve CMAT profitability it is far from where it probably should be to a) make it appealing for people to do so large volumes of passive testing on the system is done and b) for it to be a viable career path given the shallowness of the mechanics, long waiting and travel times and comparatively poor rewards.
In the end It is all either auec/hour or fun pee hour
oh man, hull c loading is so unreliable
im a new player and have heard something about industry being nerfed so im no longer sure whether old advice is still relevant. if im just trying to grind money without much risk, which sector should i try to work towards?
Hauling is the easiest and fastest money to begin with. Salvaging is relatively simple and decent income. Mining is the most fleshed out and ok income (prob a bit better with new Nyx mining but idk).
Ideally pick something you enjoy
so from what i gather none of the options are awful. as for 'fastest', 'decent', 'ok', has anyone made spreadsheets or is it guesstimating?
rent ships, try all the things
well they are abstractions as you can do each profession more or less optimally ๐ I'm sure there are plenty of spreadsheets out there. The key issue with mining is you have to find something to mine, that is worth your time to stop and mine it. Similarly with salvage, the contracts dig into your profits as you pay for a "salvage permit". So you prob want to find your own salvage to do or do some of the unverified contracts around yela which can be hit and miss.
Hauling is by far the best return for your time but is also extremely simplistic and unless you enjoy stacking boxes and space trucking you will be bored to death and probably want to play something else.
hence why I say, it's more important to find something you enjoy doing and yeah, by all means try it all.
You make money doing most things in the game
alrighty thanks, just wanted to find a good grind so i can get an actual good ship to start the fun stuff with
all of the fun stuff is in all of the game loops
what ship are you in atm?
crusader interpid, technically
Are you free fly?
Welp IAE is a decent time to grab a game package as some are discounted
am i correct in saying you get insurance on ships you buy in-game too?
At the moment insurance is irrelevant. All ships are "insured" during the alpha
when 1.0 launch happens is when insurance becomes relevant
the cheapest one is still the cheapest regardless of free fly and i can already afford a better ship lol
That being said ships bought in game will not be insured by default post launch and you will have to buy insurance in game for them
as if thats ever going to happen
It likely will as losing your ship will likely be a big hit.
either way i can always upgrade later, no?
anyway back to starter. Salvation is a really solid starter if you are looking at industrial gameplay as it is a decent salvager that will scale later in the game when you have a big enough ship to carry it with to offset it's weakness of not having much cargo space itself. It also techincally works as a hauling starter as you can just use its 6scu to do small hauling contracts to get you off the ground. (Plus it comes with Life Time Insurance due to being a brand new ship launched)
yes
and most affordable way to pledge for ships is through ccu chains to abuse discounts and speculation on price rises to get more for your money. There is a whole channel dedicated to it #ccu-and-fleet-advice
The intrepid is a decent starter ship too. It's got 8scu of cargo that is easily accessible and has a really nice interior with a bed for bed logging. Theoretically it also opens up options for combat but it really isn't great at it.
from there if you want to step up your starter package and get something bigger a Cutlass black is a great all rounder ship that lets you carry some smaller land vehicles like the ROC which can be used for surface gem mining.
and has decent cargo capacity
or you can go for the cheapest possible game package with the mustang and can later pledge for other ships without being limited to those available as a game package and/or earn ships in game.
If I was a new starter right now, knowing what I know, I would get the Salvation.
^ scraping ships always tends to be decent income, they didn't touch salvage until like after 3.22.1 when they realized cmats sold for way too much given in a reclaimer you could pile it up in the cargo areas and the salvage deck then sell for millions per hour, iirc most recent rmc change was they dropped the selling price by like 1-3k months and months ago lol
anyone got any tips for the Hull C unloading/loading? ๐
other than stand up and sit down if you can't get it to fully stop to trigger the load/unload. not much else.
i do all the things, so annoying. warping in and out seems to 'reset' your chance of it working tho
how do i unload a reclaimer at an external cargo elevator if i can tuse my handheld tractor beam?? seems a bit silly to restrict a tractor beam at a cargo lift
Did this patch fix the mining heads?
They need to gut the Reclaimer and start over in it's build it's a mess. Right now they want you to throw everything out the back of the poop shoot
yea i would do that but i cant lol they restrict the goddamn tractor beam
just causes double handling, need to fly to a planet, unload there at an xl hangar, then load a cargo ship and fly back to a refinery
you are docked at a port you need to store it then bring it back up in a hanger fun right!
it jsut makes no sense
non of it does that ship was built 14 years ago give or take. They didn't have a clue how we would be using them.
and then restricting a tractor beam at an external port seems silly too
just a mess
I feel ya!
Shit right now all the mining heads are locked we can't even switch them out did that get patched NO and Nyx is suppose to be this whole mining system lol
its like their departments all come up with a great idea that they dont discuss with anyone and then just brake everyone elses things
looks like the prospect's mining head can be moved just tested it
Basically they just add stuff to the soup with out trying it.
Chris is just milking his Yacht gas mining at this point
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
I'm starting to like ships that lower the cargo bay either to the floor or outside can't wait for the Ironclad
i am gonna need to buy a raft i think to get these 16 scu boxes to a refinery, my taurus doesnt do well with those
the Raft is a good one
I think more and more we start using easier load unload ships they will have to redesign all the other ones. I guess the only Con would be Pirates can see you have cargo. Tho it won't matter much when they can just scan ships and see what they have.
I too am waiting for the ironclad. I just took my mole and made it an ironclad. Probly will regret it but might make a mole chain, or go big and get an orion
I'm not a fan of the Mole right now. I don't like ships that have only one entrance. Unless it's a fighter. Hoping they don't mess up the Arrastra.
Well arrastra must surely have a cargo hold entrance for the refined ore to be unloaded. And I would imagine a stupid elevator to enter too
I'm fairly sure I won't buy an arraastra. Too flashy for me.
I personally don't think CIG knows how to build space ships very well they got all the animation\aesthetic down but if you can't use it for any practical use it just ends up being something to look at.
The only winning ships for me have been these out side cargo ships makes sense and easy to use.
Where are we trading bug money guys?
Does anyone have an issue with putting packages on the Hull C and not being able to deliver them when you dock ?
I own a Hull B pledge. What other ships (under $300) should I add to my fleet?
To do what with?
I assume industrial things since you are here?
Do you have multiple missions aktiv?
I heard there might be a problem were you can't mix the container from different missions, even if it's the same commodity.
It say something is blocking the elevator
The list is long. You could grab a raft, for reasons.
or a Golem, or prospector. Honestly I can only tell you what I would buy. Not necessarily what you should buy
is the ATLS GEO fixed now? (the gui stuff when you're on a planet)
I already have a Hull B though so the Raft would be redudant yes?
The Prospector might be a good idea actually ๐ค
Just go big and pre-order a merchantman
Dang they really fixed the Dup'n the Argo bags
Mining is broken until the next update.
as in like, MOLE laser head swapping not working?
Both the Golem and the mole I would say that's pretty broken if I'm forced to have to use one ship to mine with to be able to switch out mining heads also I'm not sure if it is in other systems but in Nyx every time I break a rock it's like breaking a shell off. the rock persists and just a few minutes ago any Rock I scanned I couldn't even mind it but again I don't know if it was just that system. Mining seems very broken right now considering that this was sort of a mining advertised with Nyx update.
ive been mining in pyro and that scanning issue hasnt been there for me. You sure it also isnt you accidentally turning off radar?
but it might very well be a Nyx thing too
hopefully they fix it all soon :)
this other hull-c is somehow not getting impounded and preventing me from getting loading
The Golem were never able to change its mining head and the Prospector works just normal as always. Only the mole is bugged at the moment.
And even that can kind of be worked around by renting the Teach shop mole.
I already mined in nyx and found plenty astroids.
The only problems I had were a sound bug were the laser sound wouldn't stop and that by cracking a rock there would remain a chunk in the middle that can't be mined
The other hull C is unlikely to be preventing you. I've had it where there were 3-4 hull Cs all loading/unloading in the same cube
then i'm just bugged out because no matter what i did i got the no moving warning
unfortunate
Does Levski have auto loading like Stanton and Pyro stations?
Anyone know how i would bind my remote turret tractor beam on my sticks? for the C1 ? i can move it around but can't seem to find how to move the beam forward and back.
it might be under the vehicle mining or vehicle salvaging section
you need to bind it to a button, there's no tractor axis yet
I'll mess around with it thanks, see TB settings in salvage
I found that binding that to buttons didn't work great for me. I think it needs to be something like a slider or axis.
I'll the slider wheel on the bottom, have dual VKBs
regretting more and more getting x52s lol
The golem is supposed to only have one mining head, thats not a bug
Is it bug or intention for salvation to be able to use other scrapers?
Have you checked the Q&A
Yes and I am confused. Thats why I am asking here.
Bruh I tried to scan 9 asteroids in Nyx - every one was not scannable. Mole is broken. Good job CIG!
Do refineries round up or down?
Did they fix not being able to switch the mole's mining heads?
Up to nearest SCU
Don't believe so, might be something we have to wait for 4.5 for now since that's about to go into evo
Unless they can hotfix it in
I'm considering dipping my toes into trading since hull C is at IAE, is that a legit route?
This feels too good to be true
assuming the hull c doesnโt bug out and refuse to load yep
How are you going to load your Hull C?
is megumi refueling a ground station
its a space station
Well currently it doesn't have bespoke jack shit.. It's running normal cinches by default which suck hard and allows you to swap scrapers at will so the confusion is warranted. If they force the crappy cinches the salvation is DOA imho
So... When captaining the Starfairer Gemini do you have to wear your big boy jammies or are dino jammies acceptable?
That bed has a disturbing lack of plushies.
Should I keep my vulture or just stuff a salvation in my Asgard?
I've also noticed that when I hit G to go into gimbal mode the mining laser doesn't move around anymore is that a bug or is that the new change?
It never did
Yes it did On my mole it did and especially on the prospector you could lock it in place and then move the laser whatever Direction you wanted to without having to physically move the ship. I have recorded video of me doing this.
When im refining construction rubble is there a certain method thats gives the best yield or do I just need to click thru and find the best ?
Mole has rotating cabins, it doesn't have anything to do with gimbals
Don't remember about the Prospector
As far as i understand
The yield is for every method the same. Its alsways 15%. Its all about cost and time.
What i dont know is how the Refinery specific Bonus gose with this.
If i talk shit please correct this
I would prefer in the future them coming up with some sort of fracture lines on the rocks (like Dune awaking) also it would be cool if we had veins of ore instead of just these unoppressive Meatballs. I know that this game's never going to have a digging/voxel element to it which would be amazing especially PlanetSide seems we're always going to have just ores sticking up out of the ground. Short-term when fracturing a rock it would be nice if our scanners were so advanced in the 30th century that it would scan every single Rock instead of having to sit there and point to every single one which the game itself is already time-consuming as it is.
some of them the yeild is alot less than others so like i had 2k in rubble and the yield on some was only 500 where as some gave 840
Iโm trying to sell ship weapons and components that Iโve stripped and no where seems to buy them. Iโve tried Crows and CRU-5 as well as Nee Bab stores. What am I doing wrong?
Try this, not sure if it will be helpful for you or not as I just stumbled into the site an hour ago when salvaging for the first time
https://sc-trade.tools/home
should i look at trade tools or uexcorp for trade routes?
or are hauling contracts better money?
I use UEX for routes, idk how reliable or good the info on trade tools is
How's nyx on mining so far
Man I am really torn on using an lti on an arrastra or not
My friend is trying to sell RMC and Rubble, but none of the trade terminals seem to even acknowledge what she has
She's tried Area18, Lorville, and a Refinery station
Are we missing something? Is it a bug?
is she selling at the trade and development division in those cities?
Yep
and she's offloaded the RMC and rubble onto a freight elevator, and sent it into the city inventory correct?
erkul is throwing me off about the Golem on that site it shows you can switch out the mining Heads but I know it's static build
Yep, it's been quite tedious for her to unload, try, load, and transport to each attempt
and its not for a lack of demand, it just doesnt register that she has anything to sell at all?
Yep, it's not listed in any of the tabs, in demand or no demand
well idk then, sorry I cant be of more help
Alas
Almost non-functional. Yesterday I had every asteroid sleeping. Also Mole is borked
I've kinda thought with Maelstrom, it'd be neat if they did away with the impossible thing on rocks and instead went to an efficiency route. A small ship could sit and slowly chip away at a very large rock, but the bigger the ship the bigger the chips, so they'd be able to mine it quicker.
Then when we could mark nav points, you could mark it and keep coming back to it to whittle it down further.
I've enjoyed renting the Hull C but my god the bugginess is annoying.
Used it a bit ago and did a pair of small missions to see how it worked, I did manual loading and unloading ๐ Worked fine.
Now if I only had the rep for the real big haul contracts.
sounds wonderful
I've been having a good time so far, using the golem
I was just trying that one out, great little ship. Mini-raft.
I love the golem so much its a lovely little ship
Be fun for a little salvage crew. Pair of Vultures and an Ox.
If your doing like quant or something yeah prospector,
Everything else? golem
I've not done too much mining with it yet ๐
Thats my goal with the ironclad,
a few salvations or vultures, one or two Ox's and some golems
Ikr?
True but i think the fortunes take up too much room
and with like golems and ox's thats a lot of space ahaha
oioh, I missed the ironclad bit, yeah space would be at a premium. Salvations would work well.
Although I honestly would not be surprised if we see a starter Golem salvager.
Would be real easy to do.
Golem Crow lol. I dunno some sort of carrion bird smaller than a Vulture ๐
lol yes. I ended up unloading 1800scu of stuff manually onto an external cargo thingy last night. Annoying!
but it works!
ffs and i try the Hull C again and fails
I still like how EVE does Ore's and how to find them. what CIG has here isn't mining to me.
Man, I can't wait till the expanse arrive. A small ship refinery is gonna be fun.
Whomever thought this interface was the way to go is beyond me.
Oh be nice do.you think the railen will be in the verse next year? ๐
Question how do the Boxes work? when you go to request cargo do you have to select the type of ship so they create the correct ship boxes?
They look like Triangles. they are messing my brain up on switching up which ships use what with the Golem and the other mining ships using octagon bags. When shipping in the real world we have standards.
Correct. We will see how they get these working.
Iโve been watching RAFT videos
And I must say
As someone who was a certified hater
Cuz itโs ugly as sin boiled alive in oil
Iโm foaming at the mouth to get one today/tomorrow.
Amyone know the best way to farm grade a components? Is it exec hangers?
Salvage ships that have A grade components stock, run Hathor/CZ/exec hangar
Any particular spot you recommend for salvaging?
Bounties.
That's where you'll most easily find the widest range of ships that you can take components from.
You just need a ship with a bit of interior space.
But given that the most popular PvE ships are also the largest cargo ships, it's going to be fine.
They don't, that's why they're changing it to use the regular boxes we have ๐
Has anyone tried getting 4scu boxes into the clipper?
How do you get the HULL C to load? I'm just getting the "vehicle must remain stationary" message
not personally, but they dont fit by a hair
That's what I thought having tried a 2scu sideways.. that's a nasty thing to do..
There is ongoing re-concept. After that it should fit 32scu boxes.
In ,,old,, Q&A for Railen it was said that normal box will go inside triangles making it mix between open and closed cargo.
Can't write this shit...
Everything goes into the rectangle
Golem vs Prospector?
Always hated the look of the prospector... fuckin dolphin whale lookin thing lol.
Hopefully the golem is a good competitor?
You can't swap the heads on the Golem, but personally I enjoy it a lot more than the prospector. It also holds 32 scu as opposed to what the prospector holds.
technically both hold the same amount if you don't abuse the argo bags on prospector
Can both mine the same size rocks aswell?
technically prospector can hit a bit bigger max size due to helix not having the + resistance that the golem bespoke does
CIG already confirm Railen will be using normal squared boxes,
therefore, those triangles, if survive till release, will be some kind of a protection cover, maybe even with an open/close animation P.Utility style.

Is rmc price still borked?
yes.
Salvaging has been nerfed so hard I just gave up, melted my salvager
I won't buy one in game again for a while. Though vulture is a good generalist
Salvage, explore, light hauling
WTF mods I was joking hahaha
I used to salvage at least a little every day. At these prices I won't waste my time. Better off to go watch a movie
Wasn't salvaging just rebalanced so less money for RMC but more for CM?
Did Pure Carinite spawn rates get buffed? I know a guy who just got 4 pieces in one mine
The reclaimer get only 15% of the CM it gathers and the Vulture 30%
Cm has to be refined now though
So frack 20 rubble, get 6 CM
About 40k for a full vulture
So how does this work now? Vulture can't print CM boxes like before, and now you have to refine it like you refine minerals? Store the ship, put a refining order that's clearing the internal cargo hold?
No you need to take the boxes out and send it down. Keeping it in the ship doesnt work....like say a Prospector or a Mole.
do bounty hunting with a vulture?
So you still print out CM but it's unrefined?
Yes
thanks
Np....I run a reclaimer so im used to taking the CM to a refinery then selling it.
It's not salvage for RMC and CMAT, it's salvage for components, you just pick any of the PvE meta ship.
What bounties do you do that have grade a component ships? :/
@brisk forum until you realize everything that's involved with cm
And discover it's useless to bother with
Bounties spawn random ships among a selection of ships a specific size depending on the level of bounties.
You can find grade A stealth in Prowler for example, but Xardalas had given Polaroid12 the main answer already, CZ/exec hangar.
The selection of ships with grade A stealth and military comps is very small.
What are good commodities to loot if I find them?
I just found 3 2scu boxes of tritium, a 2scu box of medical supplies, 16 scu ship ammo and 16 hydrogen just randomly
Quantainium, drugs, and that's about it
Gotcha
Depends on the volume too.
200+ SCUs of some trash commodity is more worth your time than a couple SCUs of some bit more premium commodity, granted that you have a large ship enough to easily load it without taking ages.
Hello anny reasson why i cant crak a Mtype asteroid ? The resistance is green 38% and instability green 228 but it says imposibel and nothing happen when i try to mine it
Quant and drugs are a easy pick easily worth 20-200k aUEC for only a very quick few SCU
All you care about : mass and resistance.
Instability is going to make staying in the green harder, but it's not what determines if you can or cannot mine a rock.
( ( [Mining Power] * 5) * [resistance] ) = maximum mass you can crack.
ok so if im reding that sheet corect, im runig a Hofstede-S2 Rieger-c3 and a sabir gadget so my maximum mass at 40% shuld be 15120
and the astroid in game is at 38% and a mass off 14318
15120 without using the Surge module and Sabir gadget.
24003 with Surge and not Sabir.
27752 with Sabir too.
How is the salvaging now after having to refine it? Is it more effort with reclaimer / vulture then before
What threat level do prowlers spawn in? I've been seeing pretty samey ships in HRTs
RMC is the same, CM is a royal PITA now that you have to refine it. A vulture can land at a refinery and unload but a relciamer you'll need to land it, transfer the boxes to a cargo ship that can land at a refinery, and then fly to the refinery.
All this mining talk is making me slightly regret melting my Mole
well, not so sure about that. I wanted to buy one ingame but it seems it's kinda bugged atm. Not sure if hot fix fixed it.
I kinda hope they bring out another mining ship that's similar in size to the mole, but alien manufacture. (we can have dreams right?)
@plain pewtermole still bugged cant change heads
Damn, so if i'm a solo player using reclaimer became more tedious i guess?
its bad until u salvage in pyro ,in stanton refineries do not have xl hangers so u need land on planetary starport and transport salvage to refinery
also for reclaimer refining eats 80% of ur CM
for vulture 70% iirc
full reclaimer give you maybe 2 millions at best and solo its half day of work heh
Also a good idea to see if it's contracted cargo (mission cargo) as those will only sell for like 25% of market value iirc.
Afaik, the only way to verify is to grab a box with your tractor, it'll show "contracted" underneath the name of the commodity
It wasnt
I lost it when some assholes decided to use my ship as target practice
They couldn't even take the cargo they were in a Hornet and an F8
ppl usually shot for fun not to take cargo
You dont need a cargo bay to pirate peoples fun
Hey is it possible to fill up a hull c at one location? Every time UEX says a location has "high inventory" it's actually low maybe medium
Rip
@tight steppe add to this waiting kinda 40 hours for refining XD i liked reclaimer i often soloed it but now its really waste of time ,especially if ur game crash after few hours of salvaging and drops u to hangar ...
I can't even fill a taurus tbh, everywhere only ever has like ~100scu of anything
sc trade tools sent me to a station that no longer exists so that's outdated so I switched to UEX, is there somewhere with better info?
uex is best afaik for now
Do players buying stuff actually affect a location's inventory amount yet? Or are inv lvls just set by cig
I might just buy it then melt again just so i have it in buyback just incase tbf
it probably wont change ,cause it was preparation for new crafting materials.
It would be alot less pain if they add XL hangers to Stanton refineries ,or at least external freight elevators .
Cause for me most painfull is unloading reclaimer then loading it to hauler then unloading hauler at refinery.
salvage loss it salso too high it would b eok i dunno 50-60% loss but no 80 %
yeh, for sure. just love the look of it and the sheer size but it's not a very solid solo ship. so probably should just stick with a vulture or a prospector/salvation
Was loooking up a video on the new Fortune salvager.
Did they update the vulture to be able to auto-eject and sort like the fortune can? Or is that just a huge + for getting a fortune?
new?
I haven't played in over a year
anyting less than a year old is new to me lol
Semantics
It's also newer than the vulture so no matter which way you slice it... yeah. new
I think there may have been updates to the vulture in the last year. When did the hopper SCU increase?
if anyone gets the idea of stacking interstellar hauling contracts to pyro...don't do it. after exiting the wormhole, you'll crash into some asteroids without any chance to avoid them due to the inertia
how do i mine well alone. I cant mine 99% off anything alone. placing gadgets is hell on earth too
years ago mining qaunt could be done alone in a crappy prospector, now it takes a fleet for a rock with the mass of 10k
keep in mind, those sites rely on users to update their data, so its not typically going to be highly accurate when it comes to inventory numbers
FWIW the fortune also only has a single beam
Yeah It seems like vulture is still clearly way better. But the QOL of the auto-filling storage is very nice
do keep in mind that the fortunes single scraper scapes just as fast as the vultures dual scrapers
really? i watched a few comparison videos and it certainly didn't seem that way
unless it was changed recently anyway, I've flown both and compared the times, and they're very close
They may have been using the stock cinch in said videos, in which case yeah itll be slower
What can fit a salvation in it? I ain't getting a Polaris just so I can use a smaller mining/salvage ship lol
C2 for sure, asgard
It's the size of a pisces
it fits in a lot of ships
is it really that tiny?
yes
fortune is the size of a prospector
Yeah I've been eyeing the gameplay loop of asgard + salvation
do bounties then scrape your victims
can always use the elevators for the reclaimer as well now
Alien ship with human boxes got it!
So I have a Misc Hull-C and tried to do a cargo run (not a mission) so I bought a lot of cargo at a space station, and after leaving the hanger it tells me to fly into this holographic box and ready to receive the cargo. I extend the ship so the storage panels are extended and stopped with the entire ship and panels inside the box but nothing is happening. Is there some other steps I need to take or is the bulk cargo loading mechanic broken?
need to be fully stopped, hit Y and stand up to force the ship to stop
its tricky
Ship was stopped and engines even turned off just incase the HOTAS was sending some slightest of slight drift.
even if you think it's stopped sometimes it isn't , you can jiggle strafe as well, standing up is easier
Also, when I go to the very back of the ship I get a notice that I am trespassing. Is that just my phantom engineer being territorial or a bug?
Will give exiting the seat a try again, though I did even EVA to the station as I wondered if I needed to travel to the nearby gate and so something there.
try qting away / back and call it back up
So my reclaimer produces these super small boxes that new Babbage doesnโt take. How can I get it to make larger crates and where can I take the ones Iโve already produced?
Did they fix the mining heads on the mole this last hotfix?
Maybe my cargo buying process is wrong...I signed out and back in again and the money is gone and the cargo is nowhere to be found at the station. that was over 500K just gone.
When I buy cargo that I want autoloaded do i select the ship or the station name from the inventory options for the cargo to me shipped to.
Average auto load experience, from what I have heard
would make it easier if they let us use handheld tractor beam at the external cargo elevators to directly unload the reclaimer instead of having to double handle it by unloading on a planet first
Yeah and now I finally managed to get a load of cargo and then as I pulled away and started to setup the QT the game crashed. Maybe they should have the folks working on building new ships to try and sell us stop working on that and maybe help the one guy they have that is working part-time on fixing the game.
Will New Babbage take 16 SCU crates?
yes
Does anyone know. They would not take my 1 scu crates.
if they didnt take your 1 scu there may ahve been a different issue
I used to have issues trying to sell stuff at my home location, dunno if that was ever fixed, so if it's your home, could be why.
Do I have to refine the construction salvage now? at any refinery
Yes. At any refinery.
Is that the step Iโm missing?
Does Wikelo sell modules?
Yes you cant sell raw salvage
The process is tedious. Atleast if youre in a reclaimer like me. Unload on planet. Reload on cargo ship. Fly to a station unload again and then refine. Rather tedious which they could fix by letting people use tractor beams at the new external cargo lifts.
Thanks this was incredibly helpful man.
The ships could come with Owners manuals and PDF instructions for so much cash at least. I mean like the simplest of AIโs could put one together for them lol
@solar estuaryrefineries like arc1 arc 2 etc do not hav external elevators afaik only main starporets and gate stations
@patent condor or just add xl hangers to refinery station
Yea either option. But you'd think it shouldn't be too hard to recode the tractor beam to work outside the station
How do I like not lose my cargo trying to sell it at a commodity kiosk, but also not need to manually unload every box into the freight elevator?
Hi, where can i sell guns and Components that i salvaged from ships?
Any ship shop
Is it a bug or a feature that salvaged ship components wipe on a new patch?
I was enjoying the scavenging for parts last patch and now the game ate them
I think i only kept parts i got from CZs and didn't equip to a ship
Everything else reset or gone
Salvaged ship components are considered duped.
Damn. Are they planning to fix that or is it just not gonna be a thing
No idea , there is speculation about a time based registration system coming in but I'll believe that if and when it happens
I feel bad now too i sold some of the parts already
So those must have disappeared also
Atleast they were cheap parts
Oh, even if those have been looted originally?
looted from cz etc are fine , scavved from a ship that can reclaim them then that is a dupe
sib
sib?
You can offload directly to the station if it has external cargo elevators and a refinery. We did this yesterday at Terra gateway station.
Where would yall recommend doing GEO mining nowadays? Is Pyro still better?
does Terra gateway have a refinery?
Yes
That's a nice catch
All of the gateways have cargo and refineries
and most importantly external cargo
Yup
it's still going to be a bit of a shitshow unloading into space solo but sure beats transfering to another ship
By now we should all have at least one other player that can help us etc
Sure, I'll pay them in exposure
Lol ive helped friends load and unload without expecting compensation and they've done the same for me. Its part of the game
Is roc mining bugged? I cant find a single patch of small rocks to mine
Has anyone done the cost analysis on the CM route? I know in the vulture it's more creds/hr just to scrape the RMC and sell that and forget about the CM.
idk iv heard of people finding hadanite on the surface again on Aberdeen
Whatโs the range like on the drake OX?
hey guys just started mining, does seraphim station have a place to sell raw ores?
No, but CRU-L1 or CRU-L2 will have a refinery where you can sell raw ore
you can also pay a small fee to have those ores refined, which will then make them worth more. After their refined you load them into a cargo ship, and you can sell them at a city like orison
oh ok so it has to be a refinery, got it
yup ๐
thank you, and do i have to manually store the ship to sell or can i leave on pad?
I dont know for certain, I always store mine first
ok cool ty
@livid wigeon you need store ship, otherwise refinery wont see it
Yeah Im trying on aberdeen but its just large mineables
Last night I found a big patch of Fenylmaline on Magda. Also are the Abrades taken out of the Stanton stores?
Any recommendations on what to do with my Zeus & Razer? Also have a saber that I in didn't use much
Well ill have to try this. It doesn't work at pyro gateway station
this game is 10/10 trade in 200 contruction mats got 0 credits XD
Did Redwind get fixed on Hurston? I don't see people rampantly winging about it anymore..
whats the best way to level up covalex missions? im junior rank and ive been doing so many missions but dont feel like my rep has moved up at all. is it really that slow?\
for rep you just do the highest rep missions available
Redwind got changed, it's all stellar contracts now
you can stack a decent number of them between orbital station and city in both Arccorp and Crusader
interstellar rather
what's worth hauling these days then?
you won't find any contracts like it was for redwind if that's what you mean
yeah I know. Just wondering what the good contracts to grind are now
700k hullc gone too
when you figure it out let me know, i also have no idea
i've been doing the 160k ones one at a time in a C2
surely at that rate you might as well stack rookies
stacking has been breaking for me
or i'll spreadsheet out rookies and select my first and the rest of the list refreshes
hmm I'll go test in A18
currently i'm bored and it's crusader day so i may or may not have gotten an A2 as a rental >.>
who you nuking?
is the surge module not in stores anymore?
went to 3 different ones that were stated in cs. not in store
Believe a lot of module got moved to Levski, not sure what the economy team were thinking, there are feedback posts on spectrum about the change but I can't recall seeing any responses
is anyone able to swap the lasers on the mole?
its brocken atm
rip
Hi Friends ๐ Very new player, does anyone have tips for ROC mining? I've been scanning in my nomad on Daymar for two hours but haven't found any "Hadanite" ores.
Someone mentioned Hadanite has to be handmined, but from what I read the Greycat ROC mines three minerals with Hadanite being the most profitable. I haven't found any of these three ores yet in my scanning ๐
Gem mining changed a few months ago, any guide older than that change is out of date. Could be part of the confusion.
Yeah I definitely think that's part of it, appreciate it. Trying to surface mine blind lol, trying to find the latest info
Aberdeen is the place to find hadanite but it's rare now you'll mainly want to mine feynmaline
I've found a few hadanite clusters on Aberdeen and you can mine it just fine with the roc still , just be careful they like to explode
Appreciate it! Wish I didn't skip over all the feynmaline I scanned hahaha
Oh no, that's the money maker now. the best place to find it is ignis or pyro 4
When you get good at it you can make decent money with just a cutty black and a roc
100k an hour you think? Haulings making me good money but I have a buddy and think it'd be more fun surface mining as a duo
Evening friends. Is there a good commodities tracker that is uniformly used that is recommended?
sc-trade.tools is what i use
^ theres that one and uexcorp
i prefer uexcorp since sc trade toos is just a bit to ugly looking for me
Thanks crew
You'll need to grind hauling rep to get better missions later
Do the higher rep pay enough to be worth it? I'm on member rn and it's like 90k for four locations
there's no more direct deliveries
Aw, I'll admit I'm no graphic designer but we do try!
It's tricky to convey all that info on desktop and mobile ๐
We do take feedback, if you have anything specific ๐
if you want to do the interstellar or the hull-c missions, you'll need to rep grind further
How do people go back to the same rock they found thats pretty good?
Found a good rock, but need to grab a different mining head to break it
You can leave a ship or a mission-tracked item close by.
Possibly your death marker too.
I got a golem and a C2 right by this rock i just need to grab something from levski
Was there any indication when the Ironclad would end up in game?
Question about hauling missions before I invest time/cu without understanding.
I've been running "Small Haul" missions in my cutty black for ~40k per mission for ~10 SCU of cargo.
I can now see "Medium Haul" missions which are around ~60k per mission for ~100 SCU of cargo.
That doesn't seem like enough of a profit boost to upgrade my ship just to run those missions. Are there more lucrative hauling missions deeper into the rep grind which offer a better incentive for investing in a bigger ship? I just want to make sure the juice is worth the squeeze before I start down this rabbit hole.
Yeah, you will get missions with hundreds of SCU once you level up a bit
how goes reclaimer salvage running go for you guys?
is there any thing i can use that will help me locate spot for ship mining
Regolith is your mining bible basically. While it can't tell you exactly where a rock is, it will give you a good idea of what planets/belts/areas to search for ores
fuck yea thank you sooooo much your awesom e
If you want space mining it feels like the best to do ist just to use the astroids near an refinery
does it matter what i go after??
On the planet the Rocks are more clustert. That helps with finding rocks with a good size.
I prefer going to astroid fields because of low travel time
Asteroids also tend towards larger rocks so not going to find as many that are good and breakable in a Prospector, at least in my experience.
so, asteroid mining is more suitable for a MOLE? Prospector not so much? What about 2 prospectors? ๐
but the mole is kinda gimped right now...
so we're stuck with a prospector i guess
Mole heads fixed in this update?
Not to contradict but in past patches I've always found really small rocks (less than 5k mass) in asteroid fields while huge rocks on the ground.
Sadly, no.
I think both is true in some way.
On the ground are just more rocks
That leads to more Large but also more small rocks.
Has anyone done the illegal cryopod interstellar hauling missions from Stanton? If so, how did you obtain those missions?
yes, they are on the unconfirmed nissions, under "Interstella Hauling"
I don't have them (I am currently in Stanton)
you need an intro mission from the Dead Saints faction
think i got that intro while on Nix
Do you know what the intro mission is?
I have already done a bunch of box collection runs for them in Nyx.
This is my rep with them from doing the hauling missions in Nyx
this one
Ahh ok. Yeah I don't have that one either
Unverified. Unsanctioned. Uncomfortable.
Dead Saints just rolled out new hauling contracts in Star Citizen 4.4.
In this video, I take on the opening contract to see what it is, and what it unlocks for these shadowy runs for the Dead Saints. Just crates, coordinates, and the kind of silence that makes you wonder who hired you in the first place....
Hello guys! If in an asteroid belt and i wanna look for big ships, what do the signals that i should look out for look like?
Thank youuu!
So that just shows the intro mission... But I am missing that mission.
dont have the exact signal on me but it is something like this
only big on the electromagnetic (the lighting) 40k, 50k++
do you see any "Interstellar Hauling" missions?
ah so at like 40k + are good ships to salvage?
This is literally what I have in my unverfied missions in Stanton. And no intersteller in Nyx either. #industrial-professions message
thank youuu!
no, interstellar on the normal missions
Ah then yes
nothing from Dead Saints..... are you on Nix?
if on Stanton try to be near a planet like Arcorp o Crusader
Im in Stanton. I went to Hurston earlier. I am currently on Crusader. I will try Arccorp afterwards.
if fail, then may need to jump back to Nix...
I know I don't have any in nyx.
how do I tell the size of the crates on a hauling mission? I see one # of SCU's on the details side but then the quest objective lists a DIFFERENT # of SCU's. I go for a low SCU count contract thinking it'll work out but time after time I cant fit the damn crates onto the ship they gave me. I'm just trying to make money for a better hauler but every time I bring up the cargo elevator and see the crates wont fit I am dumbfounded. How do I see/know which contracts my ship can handle?
The contract text will tell you the maximum box size and then the cargo will be issued using the biggest boxes possible to achieve the total scu. So if the contract says it will come in 4scu boxes and you need to move 11scu it will be 2x4scu 1x2scu 1x1scu so 4 boxes total
I'm not in game so don't have a screenshot to point it out but if you ping a screenshot of the contract across I can show you
And by "the ship they gave me" I assume you are free flying with intrepid? In that case you can only do 1scu and 2scu sized boxes
because of how the grids are arranged
My ATLS Geo is acting like its cargo pod is full but its not?
Now that I am back in Nyx.
(Nothing popped up at Arccorp either)
Ok question about ship tractor beams, specifically the raft.... Does anyone use it? I didn't see the benefit of jumping seats to use the onboard tractor vs a max lift if I need to get out to use the elevator anyways, and if it's a multi crew situation isn't it better just to have 2 people unloading on the ground?
It used to be really good when the max lift wasnโt buffed. Now that the max lift is buffed I donโt bother
ATLS idk since I never got efficient with using it but people still swear by it
Ok I was wondering if there was maybe a way to remotely control the elevator that I was missing
Ox it's another I just didn't get the point of
Yeah if you could lower the elevator from the ship ox would be waaaaay better
since you can easily drop your SCU directly in the elevator from the turret
as it is itโs neat but you still need to get out of the ship ๐คฃ
im new to mining please help me understand what I'm doing wrong. I tried mining with a GEO both on pyro and stanton surfaces. I always blow up eventually after some rocks with an explosion that incapacitates me. The power mini game is clear to me and I never went even close in the red part of the overcharge. is there something im missing?
Why would anyone looking to pledge an of not just drop the extra 30 bucks and get a raft?
yep, fair
What's the most efficient workflow for managing the generated crates when salvaging solo in a Reclaimer? Do you drop them down into the salvage hold right away, then move them via elevator to the cargo hold, and only go refine once you have a full cargo hold + salvage hold + refining area + buffer?
will we get the hull c missions back or is it over
anyone got any tips on best trading routes to run?
ok, apparently 16scu crates don't fit through the door of the Reclaimer's elevator haha, so I have no idea what the intended flow is here
the elevator that goes between holds I mean
Use the hatch at the rear
Yeah, I did that to get the crates down to the salvage hold. But there's no cargo grid down there, and I was thinking I should move them from there down to the cargo hold.
But they don't fit through the door to the main elevator that goes to the cargo hold
Stack them anywhere you can just make sure you dont block the printers.
Whenever you arrive at your XL hangar then unload them
ooooh, ok, so don't even bother trying to use the salvage or cargo holds down below then
No ignore those 100%....jsut utilize the salvaeg room
ok thanks, that makes sense
All of the boxes in those two photos are from free salvage....ships found around stations and gateways. No contracts
yeah i should try that - this is my first time using a Reclaimer so I just grabbed the salvage missions for easy targets
the materials have to be refined now, right? Is Pyro basically the only option or can I use the external cargo elevators at the refinery stations now?
Youll find lots of abandoned Hull-C's around the gateways....
If you goto the stantion gateway stations they also have refineries....like Terra gateway.
I was using the external cargo elevator last night
I dont goto pyro that much but in stanton I usually offload in an XL hangar then load my C2....and take the salvage to a station that has a refinery AND buys refined CMATS....so I dont have to move it afterwards
You need any help in game feel free to add me.....same name as here. I run the reclaimer a lot....probably more then I should.
I think most people just put as much as they can in the salvaging processing room (where you make the boxes), fill up the buffer, and then go refine/sell
and in case it wasnt clear, there is a second smaller elevator at the very back of the reclaimer. It doesnt go all the way to the ground, but it opens enough to let you throw the boxes through it, and out into space/your hangar
Got it, thanks. Yeah, I knew about the back elevator to get the boxes outside, just wasn't sure if people filled up the other holds too since it seems like the logical way to do it from a noob salvager's perspective ๐
It would be, if the reclaimer was made when they actually had physicalized cargo lol
is it possible to disintegrate specific chunks of a ship instead of all of them at once?
or is there no way to avoid wasting a bunch?
Just make sure your hopper is empty before you start on a ship
you'll only disintegrate whats right in front of you, so if you angle your ship away from all of the chunks and only have one or two in front of you, you won't eat them all at the same time
you can also use your ship tractorbeam to move the chunks farther apart before you disintegrate, if they're small enough
ah, ok. I just fractured an 890j and it was basically two massive chunks lol.
so most of it went to waste
yeah its 1.5k SCU right?
yeah for big ships like that you just have to take the loss
yeah 1.5k total i think it said
yeah its tough on larger ships when the chunks are bigger than yor 240scu hopper
Thank you so much. World chat was not able to help me at all and I just wanted to make a bit of cash flow. It is the Intrepid, but I see now Iโll need a bigger ship!
It is very much a starter ship
I must be doing something wrong trying to use this external cargo elevator... do I need to request docking permission for it first or anything? I just backed up to it with my Reclaimer, but since I'm in an armistice zone I can't use my tractor beam on any of the crates in the ship.
With the incr with the increase to capacity should I buy a ic to ic assault CCU?
Did you steal the ship?
No, but it's a rental
Hmm sounds like a bug. Try unlocking ports
handheld tractor beams normally work inside armistice now right?
yes
You in pyro or stanton?
I did a Roc mining run and have 2k feynmaline
Whats the best location to sell?
It feels like most byers only take 500 thats why i am looking for a location that buis more but also has a good price
2k feynmaline is 2 scu
You should have no problem selling anywhere ๐
Moons outposts for best profit but least security
Planatery Stations for average
City TDD for last resort
thas what i thought
Maybe i am doing something wrong but wenn i go to an HDMS i cant get them to buy more than 500 at the time
my favorite hauling delivery location is back, DestinationAddress
A few questions, sorry for the brain dump.
Whatโs the go to cargo hauler at the present time, and how does the caterpillar do? (I understand this may be subjective as it doesnโt have the biggest space, but I think size wise is good enough for me)
Are the atlas/csv that much more efficient or is multi tool enough?
Do commodities bought auto load in/out of ship or need to be manually moved?
Thanks!
Raft is the premium mid-sized hauler, starlancer max is also pretty good for that size range. On the high end, the C2 is best by a mile. The cat has fine capacity on paper, but the way its designed and layed out makes it a pain to load, and limits you to 24 SCU boxes
Hull B about to be the new king
A lot of different haulers are used, I think it's really dependent on your preferences and SCU requirements. I like the RAFT for example when I'm loading by hand but I don't do huge commodities runs so I don't need like 600 SCU. C2s also very popular.
ATLS is a pretty worthwhile thing to have, if you're good with it, you can load very fast if your ship lacks a tractor beam. And it can load heavier boxes that require a tractor rifle.
Unsure about commodities, I'm a miner
Think that answers my questions for the most part, thanks team. As for the caterpillar thatโs very useful info , also read the tractor beams only help externally. Too bad none of these have something internally tractor beam wise. Looks like c2 might be the way to go for me.
And as for the buying and selling. Nothing is bought and directly put onto the ship or sold directly from?
The RAFT has an "internal" tractor beam since it's an external loader and the tractor can access its grid.
i rented a prospector a 2 days ago and did a decent amount of mining with it but today i went to mine and it seems like all the rocks are to big for it. Did anything change with the last update?
Not AFAIK, you're probavly just getting unlucky
Also the last 3 days of the Expo you can rent any ship. Suggest you get more familiar with the C2 and Cat before you buy.
Try Admin on a main planet. Not TDD
have they fixed the mole
Nah
We need something bigger than 4 scu ground vehicle for cargo
Maybe we get tractor trailers when base building and roads get implemented???
When you do salvage contrags with the reclaimer are you takeing the comodites that are stored in these schips?
unless they're high value like quantanium or gold nah not really, in reclaimer i just munch it move onto the next ship then offload at MT before hauling it up to mic-l1 for refining
Anyone here know if MOLE mining laser heads not swappable bug is fixed in the 4.5 Evocati patch?
But why when you could use a argo and fly?
thats fucked
hey will the Salvation still be able to use the Abraides in the future or is that a bug? The way they talked about it in the SCL confused me
I'm in Stanton, trying to move boxes in the Reclaimer inside armistice. Still can't do it after claiming the ship and starting over either. Wondering if it's because it's a rental from IAE?
16 wheelers.
Is it better to do that or just go to levski to refine stuff from reclaimer and then auto load to another ship to sell?
Does the fortune fit inside the asgard?
You can go to every gateway i think
it has its own refinery
You wanted to ask the Salvation, right ? Right ?
yeh, mb
Should fit yeah
How is the salvaging now with having to refine it? much more tedious
Its pretty fun
Today i rentet the Reclaimer and salvaged for ~5 hours and couldยดt bring back any cmats scrap because the game crashed every time i went to the refinery
Its not that tedious.
Mine also crashed, I didnโt lost that much but still, the first time it put me again in the ship but second crash just sent me to my home
So what extra steps i need to do now if i am flying a reclaimer?
ecactly that
Land and unload boxes in the freight like before then have to go to a refinery, and then move the boxes into a new ship again and then sell?
Good lord xD
Yeah i tend to just load up like crazy before I unload everything lol
You can skip that last step if you're smart. There are stations with refineries that buy refined cmat so you dont need to move it.
ok, so i can pretty much do like before just now instead of going to trader i go to refinery and i can sell there?
If that station buys the refined cmat. Not all of them do.
I thought The Stations with the best prices dont have an external elevator. Wouldnยดt it be worth it to ship the coocked cmats?
So if the station does not buy refined cmat, i need to store them in reclaimer again? and fly to somewhere that buys like before
Damn, solo salvaging with reclaimer got even more tedious huh
No once the cmat is refined you can move if with a cargo ship. C2 or raft etc
Yeah its not lazy money anymore.
Damn.. might just melt and rebuy a vulture or fortune then. i love the look and feel of reclaimer but as a solo player it's more tedious then probably the worth lmao
Youll have to find out what stations have the best prices https://sc-trade.tools/
it looks like pyro is the best refinery with an outside elevator
but its buys for 800 less per scu
Do you know if just leaving the cargo in the hangar and store the ship puts everything in the hangar storage?
Damn
No
You have to offload the ships by hand.
I need to try the freight elevators in the stations but I think worth the shape of the reclaimer will still be a mess
Ive done it at external elevators. Here i am at the terra gateway station.
is it worth it compared to find a place with enough big hangar?
becuase you usually use the gravity to let the boxes fall, idk with that how it would work
Its tough solo.
It's not that tedious. I scraped a 890j in 53 minutes and its 79 scu.
How much money did that make u?
did you use abrade scraper?
More tedious with landing and then refining and then moving them in a new ship to sell no? as a solo player
You can get ~425-450k for that
At Orison it's about 5,300.00 per scu...
Yes Abrades...
How big do dead saints contracts get?
how do i offload to an external elevator in pyro gateway? my tractor beams dont work because of armistice
Only ship tractor beams work
so i cant unload my reclaimer to an external freight elevator?
Not unless you have a someone unload it with an MPUV tractor for example
You can spawn that at the station for example or have a friend do it whist you move the boxes
Hmm the reclaimer is going to have the issue of not having a fully opening cargo bay
yeaahhhh it sucks
can you use an ATLS?
nope
RIP
The whole ass end of the reclaimer needs to open in my opinion
Imagine reclaimer having issues
It's probably one of the biggest reasons CIG are now fully against releasing a ship before its gameplay
Glad I didn't melt mine tho now the best paint is available!
If the Reclaimer is in space you can still use the poop chute method...Try it!
So god damn ugly paint jobs for it x.x both of them
if i wanna get started in space trucking whats better amongst the 3 systems atm ?
Is pyro gateway the only stion were tracktor guns dont work?
becauso i allready used them hat seraphim
They didn't work for me at seraphim
tho its more off an on/off thing
I wish they just finish the dumb ass squadron 42 agme so they can just focus on star citizen and fix all the dumb stuff they made like the totally useless door of the reclaimer
the funny thing is that you can just make the door to move and its done, u can be 3 years without the rewqork and people would still be ok-ish with that
but they just lower it
okay serious question... are there different prices for selling stuff like ship guns? Im on Seraphim station and a deadbolt V that I scavenged is only worth like 800 credits? thats crazy low
no, they reduced the prices for selling salvaged weapons a ton because people could easily just dupe them by repeatedly claiming their ships
I think selling guns was never profiteable
okay so its normal for a full vanguard loadout to only be worth like 1k in total?
yeah, unfortunately. only reason to salvage weapons currently is to use them yourself or sell rare ones to players.
it was, in the 3.18 PTU. Salvaging hammerheads for their S4's was pretty profitable
I am at Stanton>Nys gateway after pyro didnยดt work
so you're able to use the handheld tractor beam there fine?
because i haven't been able to get it to work in armistice either
yeas they work here just fine
I did find an IC for Pyro Gateway, might only be some locations
are you using a rented Reclaimer? I was wondering if it was related to mine being a rented one
yeas mine is rented
huh. yeah, i tried it at like three or four different places in Stanton and could never get it to work if I was in armistice.
maybe its server relatet?
There is a you tuber called SC Haulers he has good mission overviews. The safest hauling is building rep. With the cargo missions. I like buying my own cargo and selling it but if you get pirated you lose your investment. DM me and we can talk more or do a route.
im going to try it in a few....ill let ya know if it works.
works fine for me
Are you using a MAX lift or the little handheld?
No issues
I had problem with both the handheld and the tracktor rifel
It seem to be not a consistent bug
Anytime ive used it I havent had a problem. Im at the Terra gateway right now
But that doesnt mean it cant happen....im not saying its perfect
Maybe the servers are playing god and deciding who deserve Tracktorbeam privileges
could be a rental thing also
Bet thanks lemme have a look at the yt and Iโll dm u if I got questions, just got my ironclad ccu chain so excited to get started
The IC seems to suggest using R to stow the Tractor Beam causes it to stop functioning. The workaround is to equip it by opening inventory and right click>equip
Ok cool just let me know if you need more insight.
What would be the best way to go about mining with a two person crew? Is it better to get gadgets and go in two Prospectors/Golems or would it be worth it to spec out a MOLE and use that? A little stuck since there isn't a dedicated 2 person mining ship.
Since the mining ships are free to rent you and friend can try the different combos out in real time. For instance, with twin Prospectors and a gadget you can crack the bigger sized rocks and if you have the bigger ore bags that is even better. One guy can focus on collecting Quantanium so it's a great way to mine.
Ok cool ty. Overall, beyond the free rentals, which would be better long term? Cant decide whether to buy a MOLE or Prospector with UEC.
is there a way to FORCE the hull c to spawn on the docking port like it should when the spindles are out or is it just always going to go to a large hangar despite how stupid that is?
Is there any cargo routes in staton for tbe polaris pick up from off simple as that?
Well, I gave up on the Mole solo because of going up and down to access the middle laser unit. If you have a steady mining partner then yes to Mole. Otherwise the Prospector works good. You can always save up for the Mole over time and have both.
If you go to Ariel then the Lathan mining station and park in the open and aim the ramp at the freight elevator and buy 500k of Gold then sell at Lorville or Orison that is an option. Of many.
When is NYX going to fix the mining issues?
I mine, get a full Mole, dock at Levski, and as soon as I start moving to the frieght elevator, everything disappears and I have to relog
Burned 14hrs
For someone taking a break from salvage until they make it worth my time, where is a good area to mine in a prospector for a newb in mining?
I'm hoping that this isnt true but is the boremax only sold in levski now?
What cargo ship should I pair with the reclaimer after running goods through the refinery do I need a ship that can carry a full 32 scu box or does the refinery not spit our cargo in a full 32 scu box? Thank you for your input
oooh, i do this all the time. did you have a link to the issue?
Probably raft or the Hercules
Solo MOLE will be more profitable (and is a nicer inside, IMHO) but you have ot deal with the magic of getting into the lasers which sucks. Solo prospector is perfectly viable I did that for a long time.
How does the golem fare vs the prospector?
It's only better if you have a ship to carry the golem like a Herc. The only advantage the golem has is that it fits into a decent number of ships that you can unload into and continue mining
Otherwise the prospector is easier to use and the mole is more versatile and powerful
I do have a Herc, I have tried using the mole in the past but wasnt a fan getting in and out of the different seats
Get a bunch of drake pods, load them on your Herc along with the Golem and then swap out the full ones for the empty ones. Focus on non-volatile minerals like taranite and gold.
Then you can refine larger loads, and do fewer "drop offs" to a refinery
Noted will give that a try thanks! Any suggested loadouts for the golem?
Is the boremax only sold in levski now?
checked nearly every stanton location with no luck
Are the big-payout Hull C missions still active? Dont seem to have them on my hauling contracts
are refineries like always dramatically over capacity?
Where are Reigers and Helix IIs located now? I used to base out of Faithful Dream but they don't appear to be there any longer
EDIT: The default MOLE heads make me sad, literally every rock has been impossible to crack so far regardless of all factors --_--
yeah I think so, but it doesnt actually affect you the player afaik
it makes it more expensive no?
I dont think so
it says it would so I took that at face value buy maybe not
So completely regardless of price but not including the reclaimer, which is the best salvage ship?
I've not used my Salvation yet as I got 30 days before I can gift it back lol but I prefer the Vulture over the Fortune, better rear access if you're looting components in addition to the materials. I did hear they buffed the single scraper magically to be as fast as 2 but I've not tested that, however previously I found the Vulture about 33% faster in real use.
Salvation appeals to me as it can be easily stored in a lot of ships
I tried the fortune and the vulture and I have to say the vulture seems to be better. Or at least I feel that
Salvation works awesome of you have another ship with a lot of space like Hercules. You have enough space to fit the salvation and a lot of SCU
Standalone ship I would say vulture
I just read this on a YouTube comment. Anyone can confirm? Iโm not at home to test it : (
damn I wish I'd tested that at one of the gateway stations in my Reclaimer, i just wasted half my life crossloading to my Asgard lol
Honestly I don't think there's enough in it for CMAT runs, 80scu gonna net me 12scu on the slowest job and it's taken me almost an hour to salvage and crossload those
That's like 100k for an hours work? I can get that in 4mins on 1 gilly mission
the % loss is too much
As far as I understand the numbers are just wrong for the refinery, they put it backwards
You are supposed to get -15% not 15% after refining
Or at least that is my understanding
that would make more sense
hope that's fixed in 4.5
will go and try the sell from buffer thing now
Hope so, I really like salvaging, Orr already and with the reclaimer shenanigans to just get 15%
I mean it was fun to do, I also grabbed a set of galdereens for my Conny so not a wasted trip ha ha
Let me know if it works. Probably itโs a bug but well.

well if the refinery numbers are indeed backwards it's probably by design just the same how you can sell ores
Oh also you can skip loading manually after refining. You can select the ship and use auto load in refinery to do auto unload on a station for selling. The only manual unload itโs from the reclaimer
I might be shard locked for a bit looks like whole shard just went down

back in, 30k protection even stored my ship!
so im coming back and giving salvaging loop another try. I have the salvation and was wondering if I should change the heads?
What's exactly broken about the mole in this patch?
don't you need to refine first?
yeah we were trying to see if you could sell the raw materials like you can with mineables (as per an above conversation)
someone said you could - it appears not tldr
for reference: #industrial-professions message
the mining heads can't be swapped
What have they done to mu ship ;-; ๐ฅ
It wouldn't be a normal patch release if they didn't break something on the MOLE
@next idol works at Ruin Station!
Ill try that later thank you
Tho you earnt about 2 mill for that?
nah it's barely worth 200k refined
I canโt remember how much would be compared to refine it
Is it better or worst?
2+ months and we still don't even know if the refining numbers are intended or they just borked them :/
174 scu for 86k is still kinda rubbish though
Well 77scu was 12scu after refining so 25scu maybe? 25x 8.5k = 212k
oh yes i thoght its 8.6k each for 200 scu ๐
how much are cmats? 5.5k?
8.5k
Problem is the yield from refining
I was going to refine and sell them at Ruin, just did the direct sale for science
even with the yield it's still 223k (-cost of refining) vs 86k
Makes sense to refine and sell at the same place
but it just takes so much more time
Yeah, as I say I was testing something for @next idol
For reference #industrial-professions message
If you can refine and sell at the same place it's actually no brainer to refine
because you don't even have to deal with offloading boxes
as long as you only use buffer+grid
I wasn't able to refine from the buffer though
oh?
Nope, the ship was not on the drop down
ah that's shit then
so best you can do is 204 for refining and 240 sold directly
Hopefully 4.5 goes Wave 1 soon so I can see what they've changed
given how beefy 4.5 is I wouldn't hold my breath that they did anything
Even so with the time to unload everything it's almost not worth the effort
You don't have to unload tho
taking in count the time of offloading I think just selling the buffer can get you more money per hour?
the 204 can fit on the grid on salvage processing deck
and should be able to push into refinery straight from grid
ooh true
the 240 in buffer can be sold directly
In always forget reclaimer has grid xD
I didn't try from grid, I'll check that next time, although as I say the ship was not even in the drop down on the refinery terminal
that could be coz you had nothing on grid
Potentially
I was just grabbing some cmats to test the direct selling so I might turn it into boxes and try refine from boxes
Let us know if it works
what's the best place to try it in stanton? I haven't actually touched reclaimer since the Cmat rework
I think all the refinery station have docking collars, you just won't be able to call a hangar as they don't have XLs
So boxes will need to be on the grid already
nope can't refine from grid...
Yep reclaimer is being retired to just eye candy until they can sort out their idiocy.
TDD terminal sees the cargo on grid.. Just gross incompetence from CIG on this one
Yeah it's a pain. Thanks for confirming. Wouldn't be so bad if the Reclaimer wasn't such a pain to unload
16scu boxes clears the buffer fast, it's just a pain getting them out lol
eeeh I think it's still a completely shit redesign of the system anyway
I don't find clicking buttons on a terminal and waiting engaging gameplay
I would've preferred to see actual mechanics developed for salvaging
Yeah victim of being designed under the old plans (magic cargo)
Also would be good if the Reclaimer could refine on board, at least make it's size make sense
I don't think the CMAT rework has added anything meaningful to the game nor will it ever unless it is completely redesigned again at some point ๐
so begs the question why release it and why now and why so undercooked
when it serves no purpose
As for unloading, would be perfect if the whole ass end opened up
and nobody will engage with it and test it because it's bad and unrewarding
Probably prerequisite for crafting
This is my suggesting for reclaimer with bare minimum changes.
But crafting isn't on the horizon yet so why push this turd out so early?
unless they are planning to shadow drop crafting, it's still months out
It's all bits and pieces and many teams working on stuff at different stages
Yeah I get it but if ain't ready just keep working on it. And if this is the best gameplay they could come up with, just don't bother frankly
its has something to do with crafting but kjinda dumb as crafting its not a thing yet
man I saw the reclaimer drawings and the claw was so good
ok I just got home finally
I wonder when armor comes how will affect the reclaimer
Whatโs the fastest what to store items and other stuff in the 1scu cargo boxes? Or do I have to move every item by hand first in my inventory and then in separat cargo boxes??
No you have to offload it
yeah that's dumb
i swear the reclaimer had a refinery in it
doing salvage gameplay doesn't seem worth it at all ๐ sadge
salvage just isn't worth it in the vulture, especially at the current price of RMC
same for mining in stanton. Its just a complete waste of time. Pyro and Nyx is better
Except Mole is still cucked
You're just not motivated
aaaand you made 1 mil
gz
Should I keep my vulture?
why not?
Just because the fucked up salvaging one patch doesn't mean it will never be good ๐
the only salvage ship i currently have is a salvation, and that's just being an LTI token with a CCU up to the RAFT for the eventuality if i ever lose the raft in game
considered investing in salvage but the ROI seems terrible right now
never tried mining, though i do have a golem i got in game as well
I personally prefer mining to salvaging but if you want to do lots of base building, salvaging will be useful. Just turned my vulture into a MOLE and immediately regretted it due to current MOLE bug lol, guess I'm cargo hauling for a bit
Try mining with a golem and a C2 as a base ship. Fill the C2 with empty pods
i have a C2, and i will be doing exactly that if i start mining
C2's my daily driver for most hauling, saving in game to get the Hull-C rn
even if its bugged, the auec is just too good to pass up
GL with the Hull-C.
ty, i hate the bugs with every fiber of my being
I had two sessions road testing the Salvation since I paid hard cold cash for it versus the Hammerhead rental with my alt. The first session I had just unloaded the 12 crates into the cargo hold of the Hammerhead and was close to the ship. When starting to fly away to continue I tapped the S key instead of W and crashed into the bigger ship destroying mine. So I ended that session and came back later for Round 2. This went much better bringing home 42 scu from all the top part of the ship and some of the sides. The ship was pretty red in the MFD photo and I am not sure at what point it might stop functioning. The Abrades on the ship worked great but you need a safe area to take a drink. So the ship is best used for a single session of 12 scu or a bigger group of Salvagers. How do you use the Salvation??? To team up let me know via DM.
Also have a salvation and could use the credit to CCU to a persus or polaris
I park mine in my Asgard and unload into it and drink on the Asgard, also can bed log from it
I would rather own a vulture than perseus or polaris but I'm weird ;P
Abrades are a bug sadly. The Salvation is supposed to have bespoke Cinches so fully expect that to be addressed and ability to change scraper removed.
which is a deal breaker for me as Cinches suck hard and bespoke or not, they won't make them that viable seeing they they want salvation to strictly be a starter that you change away from. I wish they would understand that people value a small ship that has scalability by being put into larger ships but that is clearly not what they want for the game ๐
I'm surprised we got as lucky as we did with the golem
Where should I ask for help if I happen to be stuck in space in the middle of pyro on a ship with no qt fuel? For future reference
In game chat or #looking-for-session .
Easiest way is to just kill yourself and fly back there with an other ship, without claiming the first one.
Alright guess itโs time to rent out a refueler thank you very much
Well I couldn't even be bothered to login today. The bugs and poor design choices are just depressing me. Tried to use reclaimer and couldn't unlock. Then couldn't frack a wreck. Then the thought of unloading, moving refining,
And all those elevators and running everywhere
I basically try to play once a day and quit once I hit something unplayable or annoying. Like 12 tries to equip a fckin greycat
./rant
Iโll try the buffer selling thing to see if itโs quicker that way
I just wish either the other places get better salvage missions or get an XL refinery in Stanton
ooh I found a poalris to scrap
can the claw break a polaris?
yeah, it gives 750scu
yeah reclaimer can, vulutre and anything smaller can't
So I am a little out of date on how to do cargo, whats the most profitable cargo to take in a hull c and from where to where?
the buffer should be bigger tbh, the main part alone of the polaris its 525scu and i cant divide that
The buffer is completely the wrong size based on concept
anyone knows which QT thing I can get to make my reclaimer go faster? I never changed it before. I want to try to only use the buffer to sell it so i need speed to go to nyx just to sell it there at levski
if you can find one or buy one off someone i used to use a Ts-2 or a erebos QT drive
not sure about ts-2 but i think you can find erebos at arc L1 in the galleria
hmm I should check it...
reclaimer has enough QT fuel for a lot of travels so speed wouldnt hurt
It can even bracke the idris
that gives 1.8K
Youre just flying to levski to sell from the reclaimer buffer?
yeah, im doing Yela, levski
The difficult thing is that much of that goes to waste because the partas will fill ur stoges and the rest vanisches
I got to fill my reclimer 3 times on the idris
Have you done it yet? How much do you get from 240scu?
And the fastest QT drive for the Reclaimer is the AGNI (Industrial Grade B) which is below the TS-2. Erebos is a little slower.
Fastest you can "buy" instead of loot
About 120k based on previous tests
yeah 120k
not worth the time basically
You said it not me.
if you could land in any refinery mayb then yeah but just the travel alone its a waste of time

also levki docking its bugged so you need to add 50seconds + 5000 in expenses to get impounded
Youre better off unloading at an external cargo elevator at a station that has a refinery....like Terra Gateway
where can I sell construction materials at HUR L1?
The trade terminals in the galeria.
oh true
I forgot they had commodity terminals there
I get confused, how its calkled before and after refining
CMAT salvage is before refining
or CMAT rubble for the Vulture
after refining its just construction materials
Where can I buy the artimex armor? Like not get it from bunker missions?
