I've been grabbing these "take care of cfp" missions that pay 145k. A run there quick and simple
The bounty hunter missions are also good to do. few big ships with possible loot.
Do the bounty hunter add to the normal rep?
yeahhhhh
It's a struggle in it, anything bigger then a Connie is annoying
but the salvage missions. 50k kill and salvage is bugged no jump marker.
the 50k convoy is best.
80k mission of the 10 times I took it 2 times I was able to jump there.
120k mission is okey. but just now i had the reclaimer and 1 part of the ship vanished. so that was a loss of a full depot.
the 150k mission is just a waist of time right now, the Flavour text mission text, sounds great and good money, but the reality is 1 hammerhead and 1 extra ship... I can do the 50k convoy and get a dead hammerhead plus another ship. Rather do that 🙂
if u need rep you can join my party I am going around and salvage some missions
u can get free rep
Gotcha might join later I got.into bed given it's 2:30am
aight give me a nudge if I am online will group up
you can fly after me with a cargo ship and grab gold and scrap
u can keep the cargo offcourse for some cash
can you sell commodity's with the Hull c at Endgame?
I dont use a Hull C that much, but since it doesnt have a "loading dock" I would assume you can't
I like using the Geo and hoped the last patch would fix it alas no. Maybe the IAE one will.
morning
what is the refresh time on the trading terminals for the inventory?
c2, caterpillar or hull c for large (800+ scu) salvage transfer + commodity?
(800+ scu)hull c is the only
Hull C is the only ship atm than can carry more than 800 scu
C2 comes close with 696 scu
also know that the Hull C can't land while it has cargo, it can only sell at space stations
but not all in Pyro
the ironclad will change that
so as the Merchantman
I mean, technically the idris has about 1300 cargo space. But if you are asking I would assume you don't have that one xd
hull C is still bugged though yeah?
yes...ive just tried
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
rip
and the solution for them is to manually load a full hull c by hand and unload by hand.
This is the part where you start re-analyzing the way you make decisions in your life.
Spending so many credits on HUL-C was definitely a mistake.
Hello all, im an old time backer but been getting back into it with this patch. I have a salvaging ship and some medium size cargo hauler, which would be the best to build up some uec?
hauler
Any particular ones? Im currently homed at Hurston
i would go for the C2
Ill be picking one up at IAE
there are 6 50k missions from baijini point to rikers at A18 you can stack for like 300k every 30-40min
you can make like 600k/hr or so if you hustle
there are 6 50k missions from LO to Capital City
i think baijini has a couple extra missions you can squeeze in there too if you have room and that's why people recommend doing those beginner missions there
you can make a little extra money if you have space on your ship
Just coming back after a week break... did they completely remove Red Wind $117k missions from Stanton?
Anyone seen or know about refinery error code 1?
I have enough auec for with a prospector or a vulture.
I’ve never mined or salvaged, but I’m thinking about getting into an industrial profession to take a break from pew pew from time to time. Thoughts?
I’m thinking a prospector because I think mining might make me explore more and take in views in places I wouldn’t normally visit while making good money.
I’m thinking salvage for profitability mainly, but I assume it might be easier to get into than mining.
I’m leaning towards mining, but I’d love to hear thoughts
Salvage did get a bit of a rework from this PTU cycle,
If you get a vulture you'll do fine but do note that we might get more changes to salvage and refine yield rates.
Mining is pretty fun and can do well, i'd look up and research it and see if you enjoy it
I personally think both are good, i do a shit ton of salvage because i like flying around in a reclaimer for everything,
And im working on getting a prospector for mining
Which would you say is more profitable and enjoyable?
Mainly dipping my toes into industrial gameplay for the first time, looking to have a reason to explore the moons and planets more
Profitable, tough to say after the "nerf"/adjustments to salvaging.
Most enjoyable is so subjective its impossible to say
Mining is slightly more complex, with managing laser power and what you can and cannot mine (mass size)
Where as salvaging is technically way more "simple" it also involves more personal moving of cargo
I see. With salvage being simpler, does mining have a higher ceiling then?
Kinda
mining lasers have hotspots and burn time, you need to watch it so the rock doesnt turn into a bomb on you and explode
huh tried to do those 50k mission haul, called the elevator up and nothing was on it
are you at the right location
yea baijini
Sorry for a bunch of questions.
With salvage, I assume I have a higher chance of finding good components, or are the components generated by missions just buyable comps?
And with mining, are there certain planets/moons that have higher profit rocks, or is it kinda the same everywhere?
so I take it the hotfix didn't fix CM refining yields? Just got a 30% yield on my order with a "high" yield
questions are good, gets us thinking so we dont cope
you can find good components from player ships if you come across them, i found a few while in pyro.
And yes certain planets/moons have better rocks and ores
I know theres two ores that sell for a lot in pyro and only spawn in pyro, but quantinum? ore spawns in pyro/stanton which is another good ore
how ive been doing salvage is, i take on contracts that go to mission locations for normal players or stuff, and since the reclaimer can fend for itself blows stuff up i yoink and get what i want and repeat kinda
For the vulture, its not combat ready at all, you see any red markers you RUN
but doing contracts and salvage stuff with it can earn you the money back on it fairly quickly in my personal opinion
I ended up getting the prospector. Once you mentioned ore variety in different locations I was sold. I spend too much time pew pewing on the same 5 moons/planets and needed a reason to go exploring
Bless up brother. Time to learn everything I can about mining
Is there a specific loadout I should rock on the prospector, or is the base prospector enough to learn/earn with?
Yeah theres different mining heads and modules you can use
Do you have a loadout you recommend?
i havent done mining yet so im not entirely sure
Can I do multiple refinery jobs at the same station, or do I have to take my next load of rocks somewhere else?
you can do multiple at the same station
Bet
Hopefully last question. What are the best planets/moons to mine at?
I’m mining at cellin right now, but want to get a bit of a list together.
I think gold might be fun to mine specifically
You’re a king for this. To calliope I go o7
best of luck!... i mean... break a leg 😋
why cant i buy anything for my hull c
I totally am wrong for underestimating mining. I thought it would be boring, but it’s actually kinda fun and relaxing blasting some music while I mine
can i not buy stuff at areas like mic l3 ?
and set it up for stealth
Looking at getting into mining....gonna go buy a prospector I think, any words of wisdom?
Whats more Profitable
Mining on an Planet or Mining in the Aron Halo (Both with an Prospektor)
Has anyone been able to make the hull c work this patch?
what's the state of hauling rn? just came back from 4.2, first couple contracts in stanton only registered like 10% of my scu
what are yall making on average with the reclaimer right now?
I haven't focused grinded salvage yet since I'm still setting up reputation for contracts I'll post my numbers and earnings from my methods when I can
question: what do you do with cargo if you took a bunch of contracts and loaded the cargo then had to quit the game
never mind, looks like game wiped it for me
loading a c2 by hand takes an eternity it feels like, especially when the long distance ray to the cargo bugs out in the elevator
still in my cargo hold, fml
Contracted Hauling is functioning unless you do Hull C missions (I believe those are not working ATM), but commodity hauling is broken after they did a rebalance to try and make it more worthwhile for bulk commodities.
The ATLS is 75k and does the job infinitely better than a handheld for ships with large open cargo bays like the Herc.
i have the atls and i have massive issues with loading the herc
Unless you're OCD you can even just punt the boxes into the ship and not worry about being on grid.
i... may be mildly OCD
my issue is getting stuck on the ramp
and then when i get the bug where your beam (for either atls or your maxlift) doesn't work outside the freight elevator
have they fixed the unable to sell commodities thing yet?
Yeah, this just requires using the ATLS from inside the elevator to rapidly move them outside. The ATLS is super efficient once you get the hang of it, and make sure you're using Z (free look) instead of trying to rotate the ATLS.
you can sell commodities usually, its buying/autoloading that's the pain rn
really? even when they're outside i get so stuck
ATLS tractor beam for a C2 lesson 101 - Stand on ramp, turn sideways, press Z, pick up box, place box.
.> that wasn't working very well with my 32SCU commodities
Also load the C2 from the rear ramp, not the front ramp
same for offloading?
Yes
hmm, ok
The front ramp has little doors that block the boxes extremely frequently
The rear ramp is much more exposed / open
If you lose the cargo or the mission?
i'm stuck at area18 with a few boxes and i constantly forget which boxes to grab
mission
i wanna unload them but then i'm going to forget which ones which for my missions
Pull it up, throw it into the corner.
of the elevator?
The only other option is too time consuming, which is load them up and deposit them outside your hangar.
they're currently loaded
If it isn't your personal hangar, they will go away when you change servers. If it is your personal hangar, probably not until next patch.
If you have them loaded, just fly them into space, self destruct, claim

i guess i can't space litter lol
i'm assuming if i tried to open the cargo doors i'd get sucked into space
oh but they're grid locked, nvm that'd do nothing
No, the game has fake shielding around entries so you don't have the vacuum effect at all.
ohhh
Maybe when they introduce maelstrom and decompression, but for now there's no decompression functionality or vacuum effects.
if i backspace my medbed isn't at this spaceport
or rather i haven't transferred to a medbed here
So I wanted to try out commodities. I set up a delivery order to the outpost. Dropping it in the elevator, I selected deliver for the work order, or whatever. Now how do I cash it out?
I don't think it actually works that way round, you need to store the goods first then sell them from the local inventory
I went inside to the terminal and set up a delivery order. Then dropped the cargo in the elevator. After dropping, a confirm screen pops up for the work order to be delivered. I dropped all the cargo but it never paid me out. =/
Learning some expensive fun lessons this weekend.
for the new changes to salvage, do i need to run it through the processor and store it in at least ship storage before going to a refinery?
read on some patch notes that you could refine directly from your ship, havent tried tho.
reclaimer? i dont think it works already
no, no, start a refining job, at the refinery, without having to unload the cargo, is what i mean
i'll try to find the patch notes where i've read that..
oh thats what you meant... this is how it was like 3.2.4
but normally it should work
but autoload and unloading doesnt work iirc
It does not work to unload to refinery, u have to unload. I have no been able to get it done with my reclaimer. But unloading is not that hard anymore. U can do it alone pretty easy. 2 people offcourse better.
I would love to be able to unload straight to the refinery. But if it would work I would think it would only see what is on the grid. So it would not help much regardless.
You'll need to store the cargo/SCU boxes in the station by using the cargo elevator
if it's a vulture it's pretty quick and easy.
If your in a reclaimer i HIGHLY recommend going to pyro and using on of the stations there since it has a hanger and refineries. just open the back of the reclaimers chute lift and park right in front of the cargo elevator and start tossing boxes out and then stack them correctly in the lift
gotcha, thanks
😭 all these commodity pickups are at outposts, fml
what are you trading? there are lots of them at stations and whatnot
looking at the uex logs for routes @narrow breach
I’m terrible at plotting out how much money I’d make myself
typcially with UEX, the data is off although the routes shown are typically correct when it comes to if you get a profit or not. its off by a little but profit nonetheless
UEX is great, but we need a platform that gives live data from in game. I dont think this will come until the player run economy comes online
but idk honestly
so right now i'm going to rayari kaitag for biop for example
because biop opens up like 15 different dropoff locations for me to pick from
but it's an outpost and not a station
which is a pain in the rear to get to
in game data would be great, i wish the TDD terminals would give you that so you could check one and see the entire universe or something
i usually do that route
kaltag to new babbage back and forth, sometimes i pick up some extra stuff if i have to space like methane just as a little extra to fill up the unused space and make a few extra auec
careful with biop...pirates love that stuff lol
oh fuck
LOL thanks for the warning
makes me wish this was an asgard and not a c2 then i could put better guns in to deal with pirates
i want to hull C trade and i have been but the docking collar and the hull c sometimes will make it to where i wont have collision in either and i have to claim the ship...with all that invested cargo lol
have you managed to get the hull c autoload to actually work?
because the hull c was the thing i was eying for a while
but right now it seems like a bad investment
they hang around chwala's beach...its where you can sell biop, lost 1.5 mil to them but i didnt bring a fighter escort (my own fault)
yeah i'd stay away from the hull c for now, its sad because of the bugs although with commodity trading, auto load/unload DOES work. When it comes to hauling missions, those do not work with hull c specfically
but again the collision (or lack of) issue is sporadic
autounload does
but load doesn't, unless i'm missing something, since i cannot buy from any station into my ship
...worked for me flawlessly lol
what
crazy right lol
oh oh...i mean the autoload/unload for the Hull C...specifically
did you dock to autoload
negative, i do dock first to go buy/sell although when the cargo is actually being loaded/unloaded, you undock and head towards the green box and it take it off magically
but that sucks about the C2 autoload/unload
whats the best build for prospector?
so your autoload ALSO works?
wtf
most people i'm seeing are reporting the autoload is busted for hullc
oh its only for hauling
only busting for hauling missions yes haha
gdi, that means the hull c works for what i bought the c2 to work with 😭
but commidtiy trading works
if there was a way to dock the c2 i'd try that and see if the autoload works, but right now the bug is the TDD gives you no option to sell to your ship
only to the station
i can sell FROM the c2 but not TO the c2
its really stupid
i may actually get the hullc for commodity runs 😭
that sucks so much, i got the C2 because I love the ship and for commodity runs
its great and all...just be carful with that lack of collision issue...let me see if i can find that link to the IC...it was closed because the dev team couldnt replicate it
oof
i have been monitoring the one for hauling
god, she's just so pretty
i love the c2 so much
question: if you do the first time haul for cfp in pyro, can you land on their plaent without getting nuked by the AA?
its the 'first haul in system' quest
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
You'll only get nuked if you are hostile with them in your rep
gotcha, ty
Hi guys,
What are the best safe (ish) trading routes right now?
"safe" is relative lol just depends what you want to run. but you can get hit from literally any where. prob stay out of pyro maybe. If you have friends in game, ask them to be your fighter escorts (one or two is perfect)
but check UEX for better routes
What should I upgrade into from the RAFT? I'm not interested in the conni taurus because I already have the andromeda and don't want 2 connis.
Also, I know the updating salvaging so where do we take anything salvaged to actually be refined? I just scraped panels and I know mining have buffs at certiant places for things so where can I find that info for salvage?
take it to the nearest Refinery
since this update is quite new dont thing anyone have that kind of info yet
keep an eye at sites like (UEX corp)[https://uexcorp.space/mining/refineries]
can you mine feynmaline with the atls geo?
Yes you can
Do you want straight up cargo hauling?
or more multi role type thing?
okay thanks, I didn't see any info anywhere about where to refine. I wasn't even going to salvage but since contracts are broken I have nothing better to do.
Currently depends on what you want to do for salvage,
you can stay in stanton and do the whole
(Vulture/reclaimer > go to station to unload > upload up on cargo ship > bring to refinery > refine > upload to sell > profit)
OOOORR
Vulture/reclaimer > pyro > salvage > go to any of the main stations unload, then refine right there and can even sell there as well.
you cut out like 5 steps in pyro
Pure haul, I have multi role covered
Guess IF I want to waste my time salvaging after the changes I will do it in Pyro. I always just salvaged in the Aaron belt.
Pure haul ships these are my recommendations:
- C2 star lifter. (Best bang for buck, useful in anything, and can store on/off grid for more SCU)
- Raft (Honestly easist one to load up and unload)
- Drake caterpillar (Second largest SCU Storage, but you cant store shit for offgrid, its slow and clunky but hey 576 SCU is fun)
YOU will need to use a site like https://sc-cargo.space/ and add in the caterpillar to see how you load 576 exactly
I do not recommend the hull-c.
Yes its the largest SCU storage in game, But the damn thing has been more broken the last few patchs then anything and we dont know when a fix will get around for it, autoloading is also broken for it and yeah.....
WE MIGHT see a fix for the Hull-C when nyx comes around next months patch, but we do not know/cannot confirm that
Personally i've been using a reclaimer, and doing cowabunga runs.
But if you have a vulture take up the 1,000 Credits mission under salvage, and scrap the arrow/titan that it spawns, it'll increase your rep with HH and you'll get better salvage contracts as time goes on
OR you can do salvage stuff in stanton and level up easier there and then refine/sell in pyro instead
I've got the RAFT and like it a lot, I heard bad things about the caterpiller and it being really annoying to unload but I love the way it looks. Hull C is a ship I wanted but what with all the bugs I know better
Is that the play now? Last time I watched a salvage guide panels were the move to make money.
If any guide you watch is older then 1 month its dated
you "Can" do panel harvesting but i feel like that wastes time and you can do it quicker by just taking contracts
ALSO for the caterpiller.
I own one, i love the thing its cute i think its lovely my complaint on it is mostly take off/verticle speed
you have to REALLLLLLY work it to get it off the ground its reallly slow in that, but otherwise its pretty decent
always unload/load with the catwalk facing away from what your unloading too,
and loading isnt that annoying tbh, you just stand outside toss in a box and it snaps to the grid
HOWEVER if you pick up a box and drop it/let go IT'LL be stuck inside the grid and you gotta go back inside the caterpillar and yeet it out, you cant "grab" it again from the outside its an annoying glitch
so make sure you UNLOAD the box and do not set it back down
any other questions?
Why facing away? and it sounds like I would mostly stick to going from one space port to the other but that's what I do with the RAFT's cargo space, if I got that ship I'd look into new routes I guess.
sooo on the inside of the caterpillar it has a top "catwalk" but the thing blocks large SCU boxes fitting in correctly
smaller ones its fine either side works, to load/unload, BUT BIG SCU containers yeah you need to load/unload on the other side away from the cat walk
Caterpillar is great for the medium haulage missions 300-400 SCU 16SCU boxes.
it really is
That's kinda the only thing it excels at tho. The seperate compartments make sorting the cargo for those missions easy too
it does really good at that yeah
It is kinda weird and funny when you look at all the different hauler ships,
I used to complain we had too many of them
BUT WHEN you look at the different SCU ships can carry its like oh wow its only 3-5 different ships with a decent SCU amount
helloooo, can u mine in CRU L3?
If it has a astroid field or belt near by you can mine just about anywhere tbh
That sounds annoying....
it is slightly annoying yes
But hey, money is money and I love the way it looks. I'll consider the caterpillar for my next money printer then since salvage got gutted.
I'd say salvage is doable still
BUT hauling is good
WE are getting crafting sometime, so we might get changes to salvage and price changes too
Hauling was my 1st profession, followed by salvaging after the resource drive event. I want to try mining when Nyx comes out since apparently that's gonna be big there.
Im hoping salvage is big in nyx too
I hope so
That will save me from getting a mining ship so I can just stick with salvage
is gem mining worth it these days? with feynmaline or hadanite?
Retiring the Hull C for now until exterior freight elevators come online next month. Auto loading/unloading with commodity trading has lost me A LOT of money. Just going to stick to smaller ships with trading
wait really? what happened @narrow breach
lots of times it wont auto load/unload, i lose cargo during transit (just poofs) or the docking collar wont have collision along with the Hull C allowing it to be claimed (all this is very sporadic)
its such a cool ship, i love it and the idea of moving large freight across the verse but yeeeshhh..losing so much lol
oh that's brutal
i've been doing commodity runs on my c2 and the manual loading is so brutal
especially with 32scu containers, although i'm surprised my maxlift works with them now
my dumb ass got my ATLS stuck in the roof of the hanger near the elevators (don't ask xD)
yeah i think so, especially with salvage getting blasted with the nerf bat
feynmaline now, hadanite i think is pretty much just in caves now
feynmaline is 391k/scu and you can do an scu/hr pretty easily on pyroIV or ignis
you can do 2scu/hr if you get lucky
probably the most money you can make with the cheapest rented ships in the early game right now
just rent a roc and a cutty black and you're making 400k/hr
after you get sick of hauling its a nice break
I've got a C1 to haul it around in so that works for me. How is Roc vs ATLS GEO?
I haven't messed around with the GEO much other than for mobility
GEO is currently broken, ROC okay.
I have been mining Fenyl okay on some of the Moons around Hurston. Wear a Pembroke if you are going to Aberdeen. Good luck.
So i think the best salvage loop for the reclaimer is getting both RMC and Cmats
stay in pyro, find big ships and get all of that
if its smaller ships just get Cmats
Are you Sure its Not Just the Server having the Problems because i dont have those Problems with my hull c
I do have some Problems Like loading and unloading is a Lil scuffed where i have to be in a certaint possision or the damn landing Gear Not Going up
I also have the Problem of the Warp sometimey Not working so i need to Dock and respawns the ship
It’s very possible that it was server related although of course it’s something I couldn’t replicate lol
Plus I am really excited for exterior elevators so I’m okay with waiting lol
do not grab an ATLS with a maxlift and put it in a freight elevator
it is now somewhere in space
I swear you would think the US government was cig's economy team
work harder - pay less - charge more ✅
Or attaching it to your RAFT, tried that last night and I had to self destruct my ship to get it off lol.
Speaking of, is there somewhere to load a ATLS on the caterpillar?
Join the fight
you can put an ATLS anywhere tbh i just shove mine on the cargogrid
Ended up watching a tour video of the ship and I am very disappointed with the tractor beams. Though they would slide along the catwalk or something, not be completely useless.
Little tip for everyone
Hold off on salvage right now or anything with refineries seems the servers are shitting themselves hard and wiped alot of peoples reinfery jobs
and with Nyx around the corner its not worth it to stock up/bulk cargo and items since those will be wiped since they are not part of the persistant item list
in what ship?
In the Caterpillar, I watched a video that showed them in what to me seemed to be next to useless locations. Seemed like it'd be easier to have 1 person in ship and another on foot to load then to use them.
yeah
I was very disappointed by that fact but I still like the way the ship it self looks at least.
anybody know a good hull c trade route
I dont think very many, if anyone at all is doing Hull C commodity trading. It's better just to do hauling missions
there are ppl doing trading in my server
i even see several parked on stations
Yeah, they're likely doing hauling missions
they dont work rn for the hull c
Well, scan them, find out what commodity they're trading and look it up on uexcorp then
the only one i found thats good is cooper and quarz they gove around 500k ish
o7 hello
Ik this is a little old but have they talked about bringing back courier missions
Hey mining fam: So I've got my golem and I like the zipping around shooting rocks thing. I was having a good time on Cellin and love how fast you can bounce between clusters. I have tried Terminus in Pyro, but the atmosphere is soup-like and after a few runs I've not had any of the new minerals. I can't help but feel my earning rate is lower, and of course it's less safe. Terminus is often recommended though. What am I missing?
Did the Fortune see a buff from the 4.3.2 salvage change? I feel like its RMC scraping speed got buffed, what what about efficency, still the same RMC yield?
I wanted to get a c1 for cargo in the upcoming aie is there any other ship I should be considering ?
It seems to detach if you walk super far from your ship, run back and aim at its feet, but tbh I don't really see the need for an Atls with the raft, if you have a Logitech mouse put the wheel on free spin, give it a flick and the max lift is really fast
Is there any info leaked on the rsi salvage ship? I'm hoping it will fit in my Asgard
Anyone know a decent prospecter mining route?
I loved my c1, but i have a zeus mk2 CL and its way better
Doesn’t it have much smaller cargo ?
I have made a mistake I was referring to the c2 herc not the c1
im between that the ironclad and catepillar
ironclad isn't out yet
you can, yeah
but i don't believe it's available to buy right now
loaner i believe is the caterpillar
it will be during november event right :
Yutr
yeah IAE
hello, im about to hit experienced rep level in hauling
currently I have a RAFT and am saving for a caterpillar
my current route has been stacking the rookie contracts from baijini to area 18 for around 500k auec a round trip
are there any routes out there that pay more than that currently for the same or less time investment?
Caterpillar's Loading / unloading is a real pain in the arse, reason why you wont see many CATs out there, beside NPCs.
in your opinion what would the next best upgrade be after the RAFT for hauling?
that is hard, one would think the Hul C, but it is the most broken ship of them all, chaces of completing a trip are of 40% or less...
so, we only have the Hercules series, a C2 is a good well rounder ship
i do enjoy my Starlancer MAX... thats bigger than RAFT but less than C2
I like my C2, but the ramp is a bit of a pain
I did not know the hull C had so many issues, that's sad, such a cool looking ship. the hercules series dont look that bad and the cargo size is sweet
it has its days, on a good day you can earn real good money
but the next day it will make you to lose everything...
maaaayyybe, when CIG launches the HUL B, they maaaay review all the HUL series and fix it?.... who knows 🤷♂️
With an ATLS, loading the Caterpillar is great, just keep to large containers and remember it's limits
For those of you that use https://sc-cargo.space, I've been working on a new "Finder" feature which lets you specify the containers you have and it returns a list of vehicles that can carry it. You can check out the preview here: https://finder.sc-cargo-space.pages.dev/. Eventually each ship in the results of Finder will be a link to a new detailed page that shows a valid loadout of the requested containers. This planned detail page will also let you place snubs/ground vehicles on the grid as well.
Or if you have stacked contracts that use smaller scu containers divide each section of the ship for that particular location
Was using this earlier, absolutely brilliant tool. Keep it up!
Was using my caterpillar for the first time yesterday and hated ny life while doing so even with a friend for loading/unloading.
I bounce between Seraphim and Crusader CRU - L1 (Dreaming whatever) simply because I don't wanna climb out of atmosphere in that flying brick lol. I feel like once we get used to the ship's quarks we can get much more efficient with loading and unloading but last night was rough. Not making crazy money doing hauling contracts like that, maybe 150K to and 150k back, but I just chalk that up to my low hauling rep. Most of my hauling experience was during the resource drive event.
I'm doing my own self made hauling missions in a Gemini but the pay out is not that great. But, it's working as advertised. I also mix in Roc mining and bounties.
Haven't used my caterpillar enough to decide what I wanna do with it, melt it or keep it. I'm kind of just gonna hope then when I get hauling missions with bigger boxes I will like the ship more. Loading 8 SCU boxes into the entire thing AND trying to stuff 1 and 2 scu boxes into it made me hate my life.
I also wanted to look into to commodity trading now that I have this ship but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
autoloading commodities is not working at least for me on the c2
doesn't work for the raft either
you can auto-unload no problem but if you're looking into commodities for the load feature you might be cooked
So long as the pay is good I wouldn't hate having to unload manually
From just a quick look at SC trade tools, I wouldn't mind doing it for the price.
Oooh wait, I had it backwards. I don't mind unloading but I do not want to manually load those big and small boxes at the same time. Nvm, ill wait to trade commodities.
Guess I'll stick to seraphim and CRU -L1 for leveling my hauling rep unless there's somewhere better to do it.
yeah the biggest pain point for me right now is all the loading
I found a hdms site that had size 16 crates of Bexalite....perfect for the Gemini ship.
plenty of good tutorials out there!
Im confused by processing times in salvage now, do you have to refine construction materials now?
do ships like the reclaimer have that on board?
yes
So I shouldnt have sold my 30 boxes of rmc
as the thing you posted says, theres 3 different types, rubble, pieces and salvage
so all 3 refine into normal Construction Material?
i believe so, havent actually gotten around to trying it myself yet
It seems like its just... not profitable
Are any of the industrial loops solid enough right now for me to make 6 mil in several hours?
did hull c cargo missions get fixed yet
It is for a reclaimer. 192 scu of cmat salvage refines into 28.8 scu of regular cmat.
If it was 28.8 of high quality of cmat, that would make sense
But the current salvage mechanics needs balancing.
That's such a weird measurement...
A full hopper on a reclaimer is 240 SCU. This can be refined into 36 SCU since the current refinement rate is 15%...
You can fill a hopper on a single hammerhead, starfarer, or larger ship
This in turn, means munching a hammerhead, after refining, is worth around 280,000
More if you scrape it and have a second person manning the balers
A full to the brim reclaimer of nothing but 16s is 2,000 SCU. Assuming all CMATs, that's 300 SCU, which accounting for refining and average price is around 2.4 mil
I get about 2.4 a run indeed. I go mostly alone. And if u go with a buddy you can make more selling scrap and gold that comes from the ships I salvage. They can have cargo from 50k to most I gotten from 1 ship 2mil in cargo. Plus the munch of the ship. And could have gotten more for scrape. Now the next thing I would love on the reclaimer is a proper stacking of boxes on the grid. I feel for that large space and only to have 10 16 scu boxes feels wrong.
Hard agree
The grid needs a total overhaul. And reclaimers are more profitable in a fleet
An ideal salvage fleet would be a reclaimer with 2 people, 2 Fortunes, and a 2 man cargo ship
Best what we do when we go with 3 guys. 1 goes in a cargo ship c2 or hullc sometimes. We go do the 50k missions in pyro. Take all cargo depending the hauling ship we take. And the reclaimer uses the shoot to drop all boxes straight into space. It gives us alot of moneys.
I also would love a button on the reclaimer to empty the depot. For remaining rmc mats. I scrape take out boxes. And press a button before I munch. I hate having like 0.15 rmc and then take a starfarer to have 0.15 cms needing for the last 16 scu box
Yeah, that's where the Fortunes come in. They scrape, claimer munches
I like the loop. But in all fairness. I dont like doing it for the money. I looking forward doing it for crafting.
Yeah they can do that its just small boxes to unload if we use hull c
Yup. And same. Reducing the activity to money just feels bad. I want a warehouse of stock for crafting, not crappy credit farming
Plus I wish that doing some missions would also provide proper components in the ships. All I seen are grade c and d and a box in stealth components. Nothing worth grabbing. Unless its player ships.
Yeah same
Yeah, I want to deconstruct parts for blueprints I can research
Yeah that would be cool.
Like u need a like 5 to 10 of a component to learn the part. But this is the thing what sucks. And I hate it in my org that does it. Dupping of items.
I dont like it, and I dont accept components in my list that are dumped. If they come from player ships from pvp is 1 thing. But from org mates. To dupp xl-1 for example than no thank you.
Atm I am the junkyard of items. And we going to start a junkyard when we can and the srv works properly.
Than we can start hauling ships to a location in space.
Same, I used to dupe parts for my old org... always felt crappy. Farm credits, to dupe parts, to farm credits
Srv atm can haul upto a phoenix Connie series. Anything bigger it can't pull in quantum and a 2nd srv does not help since it does not lock on the ship as it should to help pulling. It needs work.
If people need money hauling is fast fast money. Or now a days bounty or nerc missions pay great. Compare to reclaimer 2.4m and wait time is like 90 hours if you do the medium time 300 hours for low its crazy times
Yeah, I'm honestly glad the money over time is shit for salvage and mining. Once we get crafting, it'll make more sense.
Yeah, totally agree.
I also hope that in the future the game recognizes, when u take out a ship and give me its components. Lets say its a grade a component. U take it out. U destroy your ship to (get it back), the game sees on claiming it. Ah i see you are missing a component on that location you get a stock component. no redo on that grade a. That way the components we craft keep its value,
Otherwise in its current state. make 1 good Grade a Component. And people will duppe even in full release. People cant help abuse a system to boost them selfs.
192 is what fits on my raft.
Ive been taking the salvage to babbage, offloading it and running it to the refinery using a raft...so 192 scu at a time. I can use a c2 or a max...but I have been just using the raft so far
What 50k missions are you doing, out of curiosity
its the cfp convoy mission.
it costs 50k its the HH mission, you need to be senior contractor.
its the 2nd 50k mission. The ships it can spawn this patch are
c2 (Great to get)
m2 (okey to get)
a2 (least of cargo of the 3)
starfarer (Okey Cargo)
Freelancer max (Little Cargo)
Connie (no cargo)
Mole (No cargo)
and Hammerhead you can get aswell (little cargo)
the 120k mission is not worth it really. The only one worth of it is the reclaimer for scrape and munch.
the Carrack is okey not great.
the catterpillar sucks.
They all only have distilled spirits, not worth much. To be honest CIG could have add random loot rolls on these
the 150k mission DONT DO IT. NOT WORTH IT
Its a waist of money, U have to fight a Hammerhead and salvage 1 ship like a freelancer. And thats it. While the text in the mission says its amazing big convoy etc. Only 1 small ship and a hammerhead you have to defeat.
While doing the 50k missions I can get them as a wreck. I rather have that.
Plus the 150k mission you can finish
Again they changed this 150K mission what was amazing before the change. Now its Broken and a huge waist of time. For the money spend. While the 50k only on cargo alone will be even with the shit loot be 200k at least
I made a issue on this but this has not been looked at. I think to few people upvote any of the post for them to look at it and fix it.

Wonder how cooked C2 owners will be with engineering. Really hoping AI gets added sooner rather than later even if it means inefficiency.
You should be safe unless you get attacked then you'll be in world of pain if you have no crew to put out fires
Obviously making sure you have adequate cooling and stuff
as long as the fires destroy the cargo i'm good with it
it's okay, I can see it now -
4.4.1 patch notes: reduced probability of random fires starting
Oh no fire on my ship! Open all exterior doors and vent atmosphere
is there a reason this is red >.>
They usually don't get into combat
usually being the key word
Gotta make sure you announce in global chat that you haven't consented to PvP when you pull out your C2
I hope to see navigational keycards to help make cave exploration (or other things) more accessible. So in your ship there would be a place to insert a nav card. Once inserted it would be available in your "Maps" area to QT to it. These could be writeable and sold to other players in game, found in loot boxes and sold in the pledge store as cave packs etc per planet/moon. I did createa spectrum post in game ideas as well - if you like it give it a thumps up or something maybe the devs will move on it. I feel like the back end of this exists already in most ways - so maybe easily incorporated!
ah, the contact is completely busted
nothing to pick up
Hi, what's the most valuable minerals to mine in the prospector and where
Should I be looking for granite deposit with helex 1 head
Whats the largest laser that will fit on the prospector? I read a s2 but it won't let me
Youll be all year waiting for an answer around here
S2 is for the MOLE
Ahhh Ok thanks
@teal ridge I don't know the answer to your questions, sorry
Sorry for the pointless ping, but I didn't want you to wait all year or think I was ignoring you
Engineering shouldn't matter unless you're in combat and hauling as a profession aims to avoid combat entirely
i wasn't sure if engineering would mean higher top speeds too
The new flight model will couple flight speeds with power pips, so engineering could have a bearing on it but, I.e your speed could be limited by how much you need to cool, etc
This damn game. I stored my asgard at the refinery in preparation of cargo haul. Sent work orders to the asgard, now the asgard location is unknown and I have no idea where anything went.....what a huge waste of fucking time
This games aim is wasting time
to be fair, that's the aim of all games
the question is, do you enjoy the time as you waste it?
Not as of late....buggy ass game
Why not send the cargo to local storage? I guess you wanted to avoid loading? I really don't trust auto loading tbh
Spend a good amount of energy looking for work around on a game in beta for 10yrs lol.
Yes I was hoping to avoid loading
It's best to play SC with no expectations of making any progress then you can't be disappointed
Lmao
I like the ones that want instant gratification and the fastest way to earn money without doing the research on their own.
Well all 5 work orders now just magically gone. 4 lost earlier, the last one sent to my elevator and its gone too....sooo I guess its just a space flight simulator
Kinda disappointed with it
so, sometimes your ship will appear empty after calling refinery orders to it, but when you store and recall the ship they appear. Or at least I have seen that happen 6-12 months ago. Not sure about currently. Worth checking anyway
I can see that. I had to make a claim on the ship due to it showing stored unknown
So it was lost in space lol
The orders sent to the ship are gone, the orders sent to the elevator are gone....I dont really know what to do about this.
nothing you can do except try again. or rage quit
Turning in missions from onyx dont pay out because it won't show them complete....its like I spend money but there's no way to make money in game because its just busted.
I dont think its rage quiting....I think at best this is a space flight simulator
10yrs in development.....everyone wants more ships hahahah how about a working version of the game
I dunno - maybe enough people dont post about winning on here, so here goes. Me and my friend made over a mil last night in a ship that wasn't even ours, sold everything at Grim - played all night no major issues, sure a couple of enemies didn't spawn in but we still made off with some cargo and had a great time doing it! We do this all the time, ASD, Bunkers, Worm fights whatever we enjoy playing even if the contract doesn't go as planned. Win some lose some - we just keep stacking stuff and making great memories!
for context the night started off with me in a gladius deciding in QT that I needed to get out of my chair and drink...lol - the rest of the night was still fun despite me being an idiot
You do know you can make money without contracts, right? Theres a vast player market out there
cant unload at pyro ga6teway but can unload evreywhere else
@lordsugarcane @grand trellis are you doing commodities or missions?
trading

Guys please if possible could you upvote this.
Its about a salvage missions not working, you have to pay 150k on the mission. For it not to finish and lacking worth to do it. Please upvote it thank you.

going into the jump point at pyro and my ship hit an invisible obstacle lining up for the jump and died
x-x there goes all my commodities
its that or something shot me but i just insta exploded
i swear my pyro jumps are cursed
isnt that only like 200k auec
?
@vital trench yea, about 230k -ish
but, 192scu of cmat salvage isnt even one large ship
a hammer head, which are fairly common will give you about 240scu of cmat and 40ish of rmc
Help! I can't correctly power my mining laser in the Golem!
screenshot or describe the issue
Standby, I may have figured it out and won't waste your time. Likely a noob error on my part
Is there any indication the Hull C will be "fixed" soon?
maybe™ for 4.4 when the external freight elevators release
Trying to level up my hauling ranks, seems like once you get higher it gets really tough
you're talking covalex or red wind missions?
Covalex, thats the best money right now isn't it?
The Hull-C isn't broken. The cargo loop is. They won't bother with it until the external FEs and manual loading are implemented
You should still be able to auto-load the Hull-C when that happens but only for commodities that you buy. Get all of your 0 risk Hull-C money making in now before it's too late!
I need more people on industry to vote on this please. the post has been made before and not enough people upvoting it. Its time that these missions needs to be addressed.
It is crazy to me, that they keep adding stuff and stuff in the back gets broken or did not even work in the first place. Thats not adding.
Please see if this can get through see if they actually fix some of the missions in the game not working. Before adding more missions.
You may have better luck getting repros in the IC channel
I can try. I felt its a industry related mission.
I used 192 because thats what the raft transports. Ive been moving cmat to a refinery with those amounts.
anyone else seeing autoloading not working?
like i select my ship (c2) and unable to buy commodities onto the c2
Autoload has been broken since the patch
How broken is the Hull C currently?
autload doesn't work for C2 from TDD since before the patch
you can autosell but not autobuy
it does not autoload or auto offload contract cargo boxes at all
It's rather the atc system which is broken and doesn't let you load mission cargo. Loading commodity cargo works without issues
C2 has never auto offloaded cargo boxes
Idk but the ATC tries to give you a mediumhangar for some reason
when youre in the blue box
Oh sorry I see what you mean, I was responding about the hull
Is align and mine bugged right now?
I'm wondering why Carinite (Pure) prices have skyrocketed.
Alright, I'm definitely holding off on buying carinite then until it's fixed.
hey does anyone know why the cargo atc at endgame isnt showing up for me
We were able to mine pure carinite last night
The key is scrounging up blades from multiple sites and checking before opening the battery door so you don't waste your time. You can grab batteries from the worm site as well.
The blades and batteries are very inconsistently spawning so you will have to check first if they are all present and accounted for. You may have to gather up 1 or 2 of those items from multiple different sites before proceeding at one site
Is refining in pyro bad?
Head to Crusader Showroom and buy a C2
yeah i think if you check regolith there are some negatives for refining there
thx
that doesn't mean it's bad it just isn't ideal
taking all that ore to stanton is less than ideal also
No, autoload just doesn't work in general and the C2 is easier to manual load
You CAN get it to work if you are lucky
for now...
Did they get tdd's working again? I'm thinking of getting back into mining for the money
Orison still don't work for me. I have to sell my stuff at New Cabbage
Good to know, i tend to use a18 primarily
I like the sell for the highest, usually that's Orison but since Orison ain't giving me us gravy, NB is the next best.
nah
I’ve been salvaging in a reclaimer for about only a week or so and I can’t figure out the purpose of the salvage hold as it doesn’t appear to have a cargo grid?
the ship is VERY fucking old
the changes we have for the reclaimer are bandaid fixes and they dont really do much for us
you can store random shit down there, but ehhhhhh just tetris stack 16SCU boxes in the main area
Gotcha. Thanks!
is hauling better in pyro or stanton? hauling contracts
How did you fit the nursa into the cargo hold on the reclaimer?
I tried fitting it in there before, but i couldnt get it through the door?
Maybe it fits since the updates? Probably tractor beamed inside. I've seen fury fly in the chute/hatch since
@gritty quiver i use the salvage hold for 8 scu boxes, you can fit 3 rows in it
Usually thats where i put rmc, for quick offload before heading to a refinery
U can fit 95 boxes of the grid before the first start to dissappear. The reclaimer works. Its just for most not what we want it to be. But a full reclaimer for me at least is about 2.4 to 2.5 million per run.
But atm its just a way to play. I am waiting so badly for crafting, so we can craft with the stuff. But a big But that means we need to get it in 2 scu boxes ? Hope we get to choose how we get the boxes from the refinery
It's 100, not 95. Check your ship for bottles, medpens, tractor cartridges, anything or claim it. You get an entity limit of 'loose items' or 100 entities per 'container' in this case, the container being the ship.
The same is true of your hangar. Containers, like ships, do not count as entities, thus your hangar could have 100 boxes loose, and your reclaimer at the same time, but if you drop an item, no matter what it is, 1 box will disappear
Grid locked items do not count against this limit either.
Anyone knows what the deal is with hauling missions involving Pyro I ? I crashed down due to the solar flares I guess... How to work around this?
It was like an EMP hit me and the ship simply fell down after that
I am not sure about 5 items being dropped. but it is possible that happend. at the time i was a empty reclaimer. and after 95 it stopped giving me. so not sure about the 100. but you could be right
That's the worm area, ships can't go there. Don't take any missions to 'potential wildlife location' they cannot be completed.
ill do another run and count again on a empty reclaimer to dubble check it. its good to know regardless
it's 100 entities off grid, so you had 5 items layin around your ship somewhere
yeah I got the same. Good to check. I cant think what was on the floor that time I counted. But i guess its good to check again 🙂
but would some of you be able to upvote or reproduction the post on Defend , Destroy and Salvage. on the issue council

Any good trade route rn?
best place to mine pyro?
Hey, I'm curious to know if there is a chart or something somewhere with information on things like "Max Mass a Prospector can mine" and maybe how to work out what different modules and stuff I might need based on rock mass?
!regolith
Use the website to search for ore location, optimal mining loadouts and the best trade locations
Thank you. I'm using Regolith as well. I'm just struggling when I come across larger mass impossible rocks and I'm just doing nothing, and I don't know how to put myself into a better position to potentially crack them
I also don't know what the max mass I can crack in the prospector would be depending on certain module/gadget combos
The spreadsheet calculates that
Well then you're a babe and I wish to marry you
35,438 mass is the max it seems. 20,000 is a more reasonable number with modules you're likely to want to use
you CAN hotspot in the field so take some surges and a rieger or stampede along with you
obviously Sabir for the resistance reduction
Thank you
You can only use 1 gadget a time right? Like I could optimax and sabir a rock?
former, you can't even attach the 2nd gadget once the first is on
but you CAN use 2 surge modules
Okay cool. Thank you 🙂
Is it even worth it anymore to solo reclaimer? Seems like it’s not very profitable atm?
a question for any reclaimer drivers. Is there a faster way to get the reclaimer out of atmo other then just boosting?
i dont believe so, before they added the speed limit to landing gear i'd just keep it horizontal like it's landed and fly straight up boosting
Is claiming it faster
is that why it's the reclaimer 🥁
In my reclaimer I encountered a derelict reclaimer. I fractured it into 2 450 scu pieces… but I could not disintegrate it because it was too big for my hold, nor could I fracture it again. Is there a workaround?
You mulch the first segment, empty the hopper, then mulch the second. The excess is just lost. For being a 'capital salvage ship' it has a stupidly small hopper
but I could not disintegrate it because it was too big for my hold
Haven't reclaimed in a while but I believe you were seeing a warning that the hold couldn't FIT all of it and assumed that meant you physically couldn't disintegrate it. You should be able to disintegrate it but would lose the excess that doesn't fit in the hopper as Armahgeddon described.
Is there a way to differentiate between full and empty Orepods in the station warehouse inventory?
Check their contents, weight, any stat change in inventory? IDK never looked
i am asking befor filling them tho i will come back after i made a tour
Let us know once you've filled them. I'm curious to know if we can see which is which.
empty and full are both 200Kg
Anyone know if the hull c fix will be in this hotfix, tonight?
Dang, nothing different in description or icon?
So does the Hull c just not work at all? Or is it kinda bugged I can't seem to undock
hull-c is like schrodingers cat, it could or could not work, you wont know until you try
most of the time it's bugged but sometimes it does work properly
names and discription are the same i also havend seen any differences
the hopper before on the reclaimer 480 was nice. but still there are ships that dont break nice. They break into 1 piece. Sadly you lose a lot of mats on the bigger ships
Yea the reclaimer having such a small hopper is fucking stupid, hopefully its just placeholder for a refinery system
are pyro or stanton hualing contracts more profitable?
I really hope we get the internal thing being like 2k SCU,
Since most ships like large to capital DONT Break into more then one piece so you lose out on thousands of SCU
I was also thinking about crafting. What we seen about the machine you place down. It takes what 2 scu max. When u salvage and deliver to a refinery. U process it. And u get like 200 scu worth, will there be a option to say in what size boxes we want the goods? Cause I can't recall it being a option.
They said recently on spectrum that it will also pull from local storage
Ah okey
Some ammount of crystal mining is broken yeh? I was out in the mech suit and you can't read the rock. Same for the rover one?
Is it still the case that when we're with 2, 1 is salvaging, 1 is transporting. That we'll have to sell the commodities in the same session? If we don't dobthat, it'll be marked as 'stolen'?
does it matter wich refinary you go to for salvage?
No, but the stations in pyro you can sell at as well, so you avoid moving it twice.
The Geo will most likely be broken till a hot fix or patch the ROC is working fine on my end.
If you can't sell them just leave the crates in storage or get them off the ship into some sort on storage. But in the same session they will always be yours unless a pirate sends them down into inventory then they change ownership.
what is the final product you get from salvaged cm?
CM
Oh do the stations w/ extra large hangers in pyro have refineries as well? I’m trying to find a place that has a refiner that I can also land the reclaimer. I don’t think those exist in Stanton
The three main home location stations have refineries, I don't think any others do. Checkmate, Orbituary, Ruin.
how much scu of cm do i get if the rifinary says that the yield is 1170
Ohhh nice! And you can land a reclaimer at any of those??
Also are there salvage contracts out there? I haven’t really been out there
12scu I believe
thx
@cloud condor how much was it before refining?
can't remember
I double checked for you 1scu = 100cscu and since it rounds up your 1170 becomes 12scu 🫡
Does refined ore typically persist through small patch or no?
I just tested on a vulture and the refinery process removes 70% on high yield, 74,5% on moderate and 79% on low yield from the initial CM.
thx for the info
Through hot fixes yes, but not through any other patch
Did cig fix reclaimer cmat refining ratios yet
Cheers
Where can I pirate drugs from npc’s nowadays, back in my days we used to do ERT’s
i think erts still have the but in smaller quantities, only other spot i know of was the 15k bunker missions for destroying the drugs but instead you just stole em instead of destroying them
those are like 1/8th scu tho so just small things not the big crates
Can you land a reclaimer at Ruin, Obituary, and/or Checkmate? I’m scared to go all the way out there to find out I can’t haha
Hi there! I just started playing this week. I have so far been making money hauling stuff. I got around 3 million now and I am looking to buy my first ship/s. I would like ships for 2-3 people that I can still pilot myself. For hauling I am looking at the Raft atm. Do you have any suggestions on what other Ships I should go for? I am looking to try all the different jobs there are. (Hauling, Mining, Salvaging, Pve)
Mining and salvaging are dedicated ships, you could afford either, the Vulture (salvaging) is probably the better purchase as you can make a reasonable income.
The Prospect can be rented until you can afford to buy. Both are solo ships.
For a crew of 2-3 something like the Cutlass Black is a solid choice multi role. Zeus or Crusader C1 are alternatives although the C1 only seats 2.
The RAFT is indeed an excellent cargo ship with amazing cargo capacity for its price and can be rented too.
So i noticed in the Vehicles mobiglass, when looking at salvage heads, they have 2 speeds in the "Extraction Speed" stat block, for the cinch it says 0.5/1.5, why are there two speeds?
Would be nice if ARGO made something like the Liberator, a landing pad ship to support multi ship industrial ops
larger is the value on the reclaimer, smaller for the other ships?
I would recommend the Asgard...
cant buy ingame
That's right I was just thinking about that aspect. Hopefully in Q1 it gets into the stores in game.
my guess is it hits wikelo on IAE
Just got a reclaimer and have never done salvagin before what are some tips and advice to make good AUEC doing salvaging?
do contracts and ur good for the most part
Ok thanks
You could also hit up the Tar Pits missions giver out at Crudader orbit. There is a time limit so be careful to fly away. Then look for other abandoned ships around but pirates frequent these asteroids.
Will do gonna start with contracts first to get myself understanding it
I am member rank with covalex when I do 2 supply grade missions my rep moves up by like 1mm
Then I noticed there are types to this missions:
Solar
Planetary
Interstellar
Some of them are direct
Does this have any effect on rep?
i believe so, but you need to do member missions for rep to go up at member rank.
I am doing member rank ones and it goes up supper slow
I guess you do not know what gives best rep from the 3 options?
i believe interstellar
cuz farther travel distances
check that the contracts for salvage you "buy" the location info so you can get there and scrap it so there is a first loss when you start. You can do the other contracts that you dont need to pay but require to do it in certain time, before the I guess police show up to the place and start shooting you
Ok
so if it says "fee" that mean you pay, if there is just the price like "8k" that mneans they are paying you so it would be 8k + what you get from the slvage
Makes sense thanks
Just finished salvaging in the reclaimer salvaged two ships but where does the RMC get stored
Cant see it inside my ship
did you scrape the hull of the ship from the 2 seats behind pilot or just fracture it with the claw?
if you did only the claw then you dont get rmc from that just cmat rubble, you have to use the scraping beams to get rmc
I used the two seats behind couldnt figure out how to use the claw
What does the terminal show?
Which terminal?
Idk what i am looking for tbh i just walked around the whole thing and couldnt see any scu boxes
Where is the printer exactly
I think i found it
In the salvage processing i see these white machienes
Called filler stations
There is 25 scu inside it says of RMC
Oh figured it out i need to eject it right?
You only get to discover this once. Embrace it
Haha now i need to clear the conveyor belt
No tested it out on ruin
@blissful flume @lean cypress yes, you doxk at the station, store the ship then retrieve, itll retrieve into a hanger, then you can unload
I see a lot of haulers taking hull c's to pyro gateway to sell hydrogen, where do they buy it?
and why do they park outside near the station at pyro gateway
what station i tried ruin it gave me a docking port not a hanger like the refines station in stanton
@blissful flume i use orbituary personally
@blissful flume but just to be clear, when you request landing, the station will give you a docking port. Dock at the docking port, then go inside and store your reclaimer, then "retrieve" your reclaimer, and it will spawn in an extra large hanger
new, from ARGO
Perfect for 1 Scu box
is the corsair enough to run cargo missions? or do I need a dedicated cargo ship
It can work but up to certain point. The best one I think without going to a hull C is the Raft
thank you! im on limited budget so raft it is
If anything… you can rent a raft on lorville iirc. You can test it before buying it
What do I need to do to get Pyro > Stanton, Stanton > Pyro hauling missions for Hull C?
Idk if there are missions between systems yet? So far what I see it’s that people do trading between systems but I might be wrong. If anything you need to lvl up your reputation, I’m in the one before the maximum and I didn’t see any mission between systems
They were talking about that when the new system comes
@quartz ledge there are not currently inter-system missions
So what were those Master contracts I saw on lastest SC Haulers vid? Those 400k
400k it’s too low for hull c anyways
The station to station in Stanton gives you almost 800k
I should check maybe they added one in the last patch but I’m not sure
I need to test hull c yet in this one
I mean he stacked 3 of them
https://youtu.be/riMdGP9co_c?si=K97bYTjJkA2LnVQk around 12:25
After weeks of being grounded by broken cargo systems, the Hull-C is finally moving freight again.
I ran three different cargo tests — multi-drop, interstellar, and multi-pickup — to see if the fix actually holds up.
Here’s what we found:
🧱 Multi-Drop Mission: cargo duplication bug still active — ship filled nearly to capacity on a ...
if I grabbed 2 small grade hauling missions that start and end in the same place, am I getting less rep than 1 supply grade mission?
yeah I gotta grind through that. got the money for a hull c but dont have the rep
so tryna min max my time to grind out the fastest
im currently half way through jr
There are from gateway to gateway stations and they are redwind missions
are senior or experienced contracts more efficient for getting money AND getting rep for master rank?
whatever your current rank is, those contracts will give you the most rep towards the next one. Doing contracts below your current rank will give very little rep.
unfortunately money =/= rep efficiency
so not great getting the Hull C if your rep is low
Caterpillar and a dream.
I just hope they bring back the Mining style contracts permanently from Supply Or Die event.
well got enough money for the caterpillar
Yeah we need mining contracts
does getting the Hull C give you Hull-C specific contracts?
i don't own one so i have no way to check 💀
Sitting on a game loop that isn't mundane even with no contracts gotta be my favorite CIG position.
No, you must grind your covalex reputation up to Experienced+ to obtain Hull-C contracts.
Don't need a Hull-C, just grind grind grind.
Nah, you can still do comodity trading with it. I got my hull c and started using it at member rank because i was sick of moving boxes - it works, and you can find out common bug workarounds, when there is not 4000 scu of cargo limiting your movement.
Theres always one member mission from everus to magnus gateway - just spam that one a few times and ur at experienced rank
I have been doing that one in my C2 - very depressed that autoloading doesn't work for C2
Autoloading is only with commodities
If its not a hull
Ah
but been using it for hauling since manually loading commodities is pain
i mean
depends on the value amounts
if i'm loading 696 SCU in 1SCU boxes, way worse
I'm concentrating on the outposts that have size 24 crates.
it worked earlier, now i cant auto load, tried 3 different locations
i KNEW i should not have logged out to get some food 🙁
im surpriced how they ahve such a skill issue when it comes to move anything to anywhere
autoload in any ship should be a thing already
has anyone tried commodity autoload with the patch
yeah its working just filled caterpillar
Great! Now if we can just refine from the reclaimer, we'll be golden
as far as I can see nope its still what it was, no change.
I would love to see some refineries with % + and -. To get maybe alittle more out of it.
<@&1042428427455705188>
Ooo thanks for the update will check it out later on
do people have tips for commodity running? i keep landing at spots that UEX lists that are sold out :/
I never did commodity trading but try to chekc when wa the last time it updated and how much they still have so you have a magin of error
so even if they updated maybe like 1 day ago if they had low stock its most probably out of it already
I have been trading like that around Hurston and never had a problem with low stocks.
As a new player to SC, Question about Commodity Trading.
Do you have to travel to different stations and buy there and transfer to station needing the stuff? or can you get contracts?
I have done some cargo runs, P.Tresslar to various location on Microtech already moving items like "processed food, stims, carbon, etc."
commodities don't have contracts
You can freely trade commodities. Would suggest checking a site like https://uexcorp.space/ to figure out where to buy and sell things.
There are also Hauling contracts, if you just enjoy the cargo gameplay loop, which as far as i know, is still the better option, as there's not really any investment risk
Ive got a MOLE that is fully upgraded and stuff but where is a good place to mine if we are just a duo?
Right now we've been mining on Yela just to get our feet wet but now we are comfortable with the gameplay loop.
Focus on finding those perfect rocks. As a duo, your companion can fly a hauler with extra Argo pods to expand your ore hold. If y'all feel your luck ran out, try another moon or planet. I've had great luck on Hurston and Microtech for big rocks with quant and other A tier ores. You can also use a site like "Regolith" to help narrow your searches for the best RNG.
Been using regolith yeah which is how we've ended up on doing Yela and refining at MIC-L5. Was just wondering if anyone had some better spots or anything.
aaaaaaand my C2 bugged when retrieving it and clipped through the floor x-x
rip 1M in commodities
But wont the quant explode if stored on the cargo ship? I fail to see how that is worth doing when it is so valuable, I guess quantity over quality?
Tbf, you didnt specify you were only mining quant, you just said you were mining
I'm not just mining quant, picking up lots of taranite, Bexilyte, and Beyrle. Those and quant are our target ores.
More times than most you'll only be filling the mole up with quant and booking it. Hauler is for your A tier loots
fucking hell, well, I get one Hull-c mission to work, then the next wont
Hmm, okay. Guess we could load up my caterpillar then
Mining will be great when u can refine in ships. so you can refine quant straight away before it blows up.
thank you for the information, I will use that to explore the commodities
And ig if commodities are working now I could do that with my caterpillar too
i'm trying to figure out an efficient way to use both my c2 and cat for commodity runs
since its only like 100scu diff between them
in which sense it doesnt work? I did 6 missions yesterday and they all went well
If u fill a cat with nothing but Argo pods, you'll be mining for daysssss. Eat up FIELDS.
@next idol can you tell me what your exact process is? Ill run 1, itll go fine, then the next either wont start loading or it "starts" loading but the countdown timer either sits at 00:00 or it starts and dosent count down and nothing gets loaded.
Since I haven't mined with others, I bought extra pods for my Golem. Fill up the pods, fly and drop off the full one and reload and then back out. Once the 64 SCU are full I start a refining process.
Would it be better to simply sell off the low tier (titanium, tungsten, corundum, quartz, & aluminum) in liue of refining them?
The short answer. Sell the low tier. Cost and time to sell just ain't worth it
Unless you want to truly min/max your profits ALL THE WAY. Gangster moves
Borase might be worth it but overall, just depends how much you want to spend your time separating all that out of your ship when it comes time to load up your refined goods. Logistical nightmare
Thanks for the information, appreciate the information and look forward to trying this out tonight.
O7 fellow rock harvester
ok so...
-
accept the mission (if any problem, never abandon, just log out and the mission will be gone without loosing rep)
-
go to collect shipment and ask for the cargo in communications (if it dioesnt work from the panel go to friends and ask there)
-
place yourself parallel to the station in front of the blue cube and do a full stop
-
enter the cube only going forward (or side ifd you are side of the cub ebut only 1 direction slowly, i reccomend using the langing gear down so you dont go fast)
-
be 100% inside the cube
-
wait there 10 seconds, it might have delay showing you stuff
-
if it doesnt load because it tells you you are still in movement, without moving the ship just tilt the cockpit up and wait other 10 seconds, it should start, when it start turn off the engines so you dont move by accident
8, when is loading it will show you the loading % but that is always wrong, just wait until it says "complete" and the blue box appears again with a ship sounds that confirms that you are finish loading
Sucks, you can't upgrade the mining laser of a Golem. I have only been able to use modules. I put a Rieger and Focus 3. Going to try the Surge and Focus 3.
you will always get a notification sound fro the ship, cube will appear again and you will get also a notification from the station telling you the load is done
@next idol thats basically what i do, except the full stop, hmm
Looking forward being able to buy the Prospector or Mole in the future
yeah, it seems that its a problem wioth the server thinging you are still in movement even tho you are stationary,, that is why i do a full stop outside and then i just go 1 direction, usually forward in landing gear down, if all that doesnt work the cockpit up usually just make it start
and the % its just wrong becauese if you do F4, you can still see you are getting cargo in the ship even tho it says its complete
does the caterpillar have a bug, i can't take off with full load
The laser on the Golem is actually really good tbh. You can also comfortably land a Golem in a C2 with a bunch of extra ore bags and become the most efficient stip miner around. (You can actually comfortably fit 2 Golems + bags in a C2 if you want to multicrew)
Personally, prospector > golem cause you can expand your ore hold from 32 to 48 with Argo pods. And you have a wider range of mining heads to suit your needs. An interior to bedlog whenever.
It would be nice if IAE had a home builders convention day where we can walk through some of the smaller buildings that can be crafted once base building is in game
Like “here is what’s coming” rather than a sale event
Head swapping on Prospector is overrated and the upgrade to 48 is nice but negligible and potentially won't work in future. The argo/misc pods are also far more annoying to manage and swap out than golem are if you are bringing a hauler along. You are unlikely to be bedlogging in a Prospector anyway as 48 scu takes minutes to fill and if you want to bedlog C2 has ample beds. 😛
They might do something like that when they have something to show
Much cheaper alternative if bro doesn't own a C2 yet
Only upside I see in a golem is, it's wicked fast.
I mean I don't see prospector as at all an alternative to what I suggested but ok 😛 Mole would maybe come close. I think the prospector is decent for some quick, chill solo mining runs but for scalability golem wins just by virtue of not having bad pod design and wasted space.
Having a helix one and surges to break big rocks is nice to have though
You can have that on golem
golem laser is same strength as helix
Iv also definitely bed logged on the prospector when I suddenly need to step away for a while
sdsadasd
yeah fair enough but realistically it's an unnecessary bed in the grand scheme of a prospector mining run taking maybe 20mins if you are reaaally unlucky with finding rocks. The fact that apparently bed logging won't be a thing like it is now in future also takes away from it somewhat.
Noticed that yesterday and even can't open the doors
the doors open at least
I'm downloading the patch so hopefully fix the issues 🫡
I find flying in decoupled and recoupling for the ship to bring itself to a full stop ends up being much smoother and I have fewer issues with the game registering the ships as still moving
That’s new to me, I’ll have to look that up
so you couple when inside the box or before?
When looking on Ragolith and Ore by location chart what does the score bonus mean?
depends on the speed but usually approach at around 30-50m/s. At 30m/s you can safely couple once 2/3 of the ship is in the box when fully loaded.
you stop a lot faster when empty so can come in a bit faster
It's a spawn rate bonus. Pretty negligible stat since all locations average out evenly. Scouting rocks with that in mind feels like BS but, take what you can get. I've had times where I'll find a huge quant rock on Hurston/Microtech than moons so, it's a wheel of fortune.
No, it's a bonus to scans submitted to the website to generate the data. The score bonus has nothing to do with the game.
all the data on ragolith is player submitted, and they have a leader board to track who has submitted the most. for areas where they don't have much data, they offer the score bonus.
Thanks, appreciate that information.
Ohhhh I see. Mb
Ok that was what I was thinking just wanted to be sure
so now that TDD mostly work now where can I hustle with my C2?
Trades preferably no missions dont like the C2 for missions
best way to make hella bank w a corsair solo?
AHHHH I hate it when you land and your ship just gets deleted, mining load and all 🙁
ok so it WASN'T deleted, ship and game were being very weird
Whenever things like this happen, stop and take a breath. Think before you act, there is usually or at least sometimes a way to salvage the situation. Gald you didn't lose the ore!
yeah it was weiird. Went to refine ore: Realised I hadn't stored the ship: Went back, ship status was "claim": Went to the hanger, the ship was there: Got in the ship, ship appeared empty: Went back to the console in the hanger, I think I stored the ship from there (or was it downstairs because the hanger console said "claim ship"? I forget): went back to refinery, ship is there and full.
Nice! You went to the hangar and verified instead of pressing claim at the lobby ASOP!
Does mining cargo jetison not work? I'm in mining mode, in my golem, left alt+j - nothing
@pearl juniper welp 4 hull-c missions down with no problems, big shout out to Alex for the help
There are two of us now, I think the other one is the hull c guy
So do supply grade and small grade cargo missions give you the same amount of rep?
Im glad I helped and worked for you!
if i end up grinding my rep to the point that its worth getting a hull-c i might think about melting something for it
my brain says no, but commiong from these guys im never sure, it shouldnt
maybe you can ask someone to lend you a hull c and farm money for one in game
iirc they are 15 mil ?
yeah 16m
1st time selling ore that I have mined and refined, what am I doing wrong? I went through the menus to sell once and it waas stuck loading, now it just says this when I try selling something.
I had the same problem with salvage stuff and after the third time it just sold it alright, maybe you should kee tryiong?
I've tried a few times now
@copper apex no, supply grade give 500 xp, small give 50
Does anyone know if your rep goes up if you join a shared mission
Like if I tagged along on cargo missions
@copper apex you split the rep with all parties
Did you load the ore onto the cargo elevator or try to sell it from your ship?
From my ship
Mixed load? Edit: i see it in your screenshot. Mixed loads cause issues...at least for me...so I avoid it by just loading it all on the cargo elevator. If you have a single load of say taranite etc...it should work from the ship cargo.
Yeah, I had all the orders I completed from mining on my ship. Lost over 1.7 million due to this bug because when I went tk pull my ship up the game ate it. I auto loaded the goods from the refinery straight to my ship
Always call you ship from the terminal inside your hangar
Not the ones outside near the elevators
I also avoid autoloading refined ore if possible to avoid it getting bugged out. Its more work but you'll avoid issues.
I've actually had more issues using the interior ASOP vs the lobby ASOP.
Yeah when they dropped the hangar rework day 1, we learned quick
Occasionally when I use the interior terminal the ship appears instantly
my R key is broken so i cant rotate stuff with tractor beam. anyone knoww where the rebind is i cant find it
pls tag if u know
@lyric bough i know
the joke is
-# you can't
because it doesn't exist as a user defined keybind. It's baked in and there's no option to change it
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
you'll need to use a program like autohotkey to send to the game the actual key press of r I think. 90%+isopropyl alcohol might fix it depending on how it's damaged
its a shit laptop with bad cooling so probably heat dmg aka full dead
it can't be a simulated R, the game must be receiving the actual r key, which autohotkey should be able to send to it
yw, I stumbled upon this which I think is new...
stick users have been wanting that for a while now
If u wait and do bigger refining loads do you get bigger scu boxes?
Pretty sure that's been there a while and it doesn't work to remap to a stick axis. I THINK I tried at one point. Might be misremembering though
yeah I went and checked what the dude was asking for. it's a discrete button press. He wanted to be able to hold a hat switch. It doesn't work like a joystick axis so it didn't help
would have to spam tapping the hat which isn't what he wanted. not new, correct.
Too bad
I'll keep an eye out for an axis bind for it...
Best option I have found for ship tractor beams is swapping my mouse to my left hand and using the wheel
the multi-tool is only 5 taps max, the maxlift and ship I'm not sure about. would guess at least 10 for full distance
that's a non-starter for many. too much tapping

whats the best way to grind hauling rep. I have a hull C but apparently cant use the cargo docks unless im master rank and have a mission which I find strange.
at least the docking hasnt worked for me despite the hotfix
Hell yeah, scooping up 64 SCUs of quant in 1 run is truly amazing
The cargo docking doesn’t work under master? huh
Evening guys. Wondering if anyone can point me to a good site or give me an update on what mining in the prossy is like in 4.3? It’s been a while and loved the loop back in the day of getting quant and having to fly back and land and store before it exploded! If you could let me know if you think planet or Aron halo belt is best, and what resources are most sort after? Appreciate it!
Quant is still pretty good as far as i know
I want to get to the Hull C hauling missions.
What is the fastest way currently? Starting at rookie
Spam planetary missions
Is the raft worth buying? I have 6.2m total and been using a rental Hull A. I was going to buy a Corsair, but if the RAFT will make me the money back quickly, I'd be interested in buying it.
Should have added - I have a friend who wants to duo it to help with unloading etc
64 scu on Hull A
192 on RAFT
192 on the Raft so 100% worth
also works well with its tractor beam and an ATLS but I hate using that thing
I was doing the 6 contracts at 50k a piece Area 18 -> Baijini contract loop. Is there a similar thing for the raft?
You know the cargo you get after killing bounties? How do I sell it? I land at Everus Harbor, I move it to storage, I go to yhe admin shop but I dont see it when I go to sell it? Am I meant to leave it on the corsair?
I mean you can keep doing them and if you’re higher rep start grabbing others that you think you can run
Hello, I'm new to salvaging , and I have a lot of construction materials, where can I sell them?
you need to go to a station that has refinery and refine it there in the refine terminal
oh hey its the hull c guy
the material that you scrap with the lazers you can seel it at any shop
I have many names
tiffany, that you?
do I have to unload them on the elevator or can I refine them by storing my ship?
elevator
wait it depends
the scrap one you can store the ship and sell it diretly from the terminal
the one that needs refining for now seems to be bugged so you need to unload it to the elevator
the refinery only takes material from the hangar inventory for now
I have 168 scu of construction materials, i'm at hru-l1
Is it ok to refine it here?
I saw on the Sc tool that the best price is here at HRU-L1
yeah I think that ones is the last place I use with the best price!
Depends what it is, different things sell in different places. And the station admin offices are limited in what they take.
thank you
don't know where to ask this but do merc missions/HH contracts bring in more money then hauling? just don't really know where to start.
I think Hauling is the best aUEC/hr early on but gets boring very fast. The merc missions still pay well and offer good money while enjoying the game. Depends on which gameloops you enjoy I suppose
was all set up to do a slew of missions and my first landing inside a hangar on hurston made me flal through the planet x-x
depression
noooooo
you recommend renting a raft or staying with my taurus?
RAFT is worth it because it's so much easier to park right up against the FE and load, but the taurus is fine
Tractor beam on the RAFT is in a better spot too if you don't use ATLS
planetary missions are a trap
back to station to station for me
just sucks how much of a slog it is to get to experienced
Let me know when you get your Hull-C out so I can harass you at the cargo box
JK I'll leave you alone, the Hull-C loop has enough problems you don't need "griefers" making it any more difficult
the Hull-C loop seems like utter pain
Eh, its not too terrible, and the money is good
@covert dome planetary missions are the best way to do the grind, take multiple at a time
the problem is falling through the floor
my mistake was landing in a hangar at covalex
using a cat for it is a lifesaver though
the 4 sections works well
I could see that, havent used the cat yet, i did the whole grind with my taurus
Na its great with the ATLS since the bay loads straight in
Now i have a hull c and a C2
i have cat (loaner), C2 and raft
Are the trade tools provided player updated or are they actually up to date?
if I leave the cargo around the ship and i store it the cargo also get stored?
it's all player generated. Usually seems reasonably accurate, stock levels are the most likely thing to be off
@next idol yes the cargo will store with the ship...but, this is star citizen, so, buyer beware
Hi, in terms of salvaging with the vulture, should I only scrap material of ships? Is it worth disintegrating a ship?
Hi quick question, For salvage missions on a hammerhead, can I do multiple runs? Lets say its at HUR-L2, And I fill up everything, can I leave while the mission is still active and not completed. Empty my vulture and then come back?
I still do both, RMC is still 5.4k at Orison, Disintergrating and refining nets I believe 7k at Orison too. So its a bit of neat extra profit by stripping the hull as well
Thanks 😊 can I refine at orison or is there somewhere near by yo refine then go to orison and sell?
Any refiniery can refine it I believe. Check sc trade tools as well for some of the best places to sell
You cant refine at orison.
can someone tech me how to use c hull i just got it and i have no clue how to use the cargo load thing
check a yt tutorial
mainly its taking hull c contracts, flying to the place to collect them and instead of going to your hangar you call cargo services and they give you a spot marked (uts a giant blue/green cube)
then you get inside and the cargo starts automatically, then do the same for delivery
@radiant cosmos here is a message I sent before to get around some problems with the hull c, sadly the system its kinda tricky
