Yeah
I see
There's a similar bug in Stanton where they can stop spawning
I see the 1k salvage missions for headhunters stopped spawning at me for a full rep
missions are shared among all players on the server,
if you dont see it, its because someone else took it before you
you have 2 paths:
- find the culprit and kill him with extreme prejudice
- jump to another server and pray nobody is doing the same mission there.
I've been in about 6-7 servers and not once have i seen this mission
Each time being on for a good few hours not once have i seen it
đ¤ˇââď¸ what cfp missions do you have I assume there is something they have that is similar?
I only have the combat ones
Yk the broken ones
I see up too the 80k from headhunters and only I think the 50k from cfp
đŚ
Yeah so it seems I grinded headhunter rep from nothing for nothing
So best options are the hammerhead or erts
Or I could get my friends rep up too
Actually if u have them u wanna try sharing one with me see if that fixes it
Not now but like today or tomorrow
I should be on later tonight if you wanna throw me a DM
Yes please as will I
I'm est and I'll be on in like 3 or 4 hours
Does the mole have longer stability timer for Quantanium than the prospector?
No
so i upgraded my prospector laser to helix 1 and I have a surge and stampede module but I cant increase my laser power?
They're both active modules, check your keybindings, what you need to press to activate them (iirc default is LAlt + 1 or 2 or 3)
Yeah, I got em
But i meant the laser power with the mwheel couldnt be changed. LAggy server or some interaction with helix 1 idk about?
Shouldn't be it but try Alt + mouse wheel.
i did, it didnt work either. Very weird
lemme try again
now it worked. mustve been lag
Pins still accurate for mining in space?
For Stanton yeah, should be good.
Most accurate data is on regolith.rocks
Best website for a miner.
Im there already. thanks man
Should I get a C2 or a Hull C? I'm two levels below Experienced on Cargo missions, so I wouldn't get the 700k missions yet. Largest ship ATM is the Taurus. Thoughts?
I'd keep the Taurus until you reach Experienced.
Or rent/buy a RAFT.
You can also use a Hull-C for low level contracts too, as long as they're to/from LEO and Gateway stations
How much scu has the 700k missions?
3-4.5k
So should I just buy the Hull C?
You do you
I've leaned both ways, my goal is to get to the M2. If I can do lower tier missions with the Hull C, I'm sure I can get to the Experienced, money printing stage way quicker.
What's LEO
The low "earth" orbit stations, Tressler, Baijini, Everus, Seraphim...
Oh okay thanks!
Can you use Hathor batteries youâve collected for later use on the laser?
Also can you jump right into hull C missions or do you have to work towards that?
Anyone know if u can change factions in pyro cuz some of my salvage missions won't spawn on either side the 50k and 120k where ur timed so wondering if I do that maybe it helps cuz idk what else too do I want them missions grinded the rep just for them not too work I only get the bugged combat ones
yes you can, simply take the other side mission, should be called: 'system needs your help', 'still not late' or we need to talk, sorry dont remember the exact names at the moment, once you complete the mission your rep will be green with them and hostile with the other side
Ight cuz I seem too be friends with both reps I think and it's causing issues I think
I'll look when I get home
It doesn't matter what rep level I am right
it doesnt, your rep level should be back once you revert the faction
Sweet ty
Will be home in 2 hour too test
Really hope this fixes my missions
Grinded the 1k and 8k salvage missions for like 3 days just for the ones I want too not spawn
Yes
U can use any ship for any mission there is no specific hull c one
Technically, but doing 6 or 7 trips in a C2 for the 4500scu mission ain't gonna be fun lol. The large hauls start at Experienced Rank if that's what they were asking
The Hull C can actually carry any size and even multiple haulage missions as long as they go to/from a supported station.
What're some good hauls for the c2?
Contracts mainly. I have the sites for commodities.
Whats the best area for member rank hauling missions?
Stanton, either Crusader or Arcorp.
yup thats what i meant
Under Merc right
Cuz I don't see it
Yes, for example on my case im sided with the HeadHunters, so im offered this mission by the Citizens
after completition ill be friendly with Citizens and Hostile to HHs
go to re rep tab scroll and pick any of them,
then back to missions panel, that will make missions to refresh
maybe someone else took it before you did
Yeah I don't see it
The CFP rep switch mission was, last time I looked, in the bounty hunter category.
HH rep switch mission is a mercenary one.
what is the best region for the hull C rn???
Do yk what's it's called I have 53 missions idk which it is none of them look like it
dont bother
fair enough
So the hull c on works with low orbit stations and gateways. a lot of the times u might bug and lose money you invest on a cargo
I love the concept, just stick to the 700k hauling mission that you invest nothing in
Might be bugged since u are friendly with both
Cause all you did is salvage u never stepped on the other groups foot.
2 options there: Just grind the other factions rep up that u haven't if possible.
Or
Go to a outpost controlled by the faction you dont wanna hang with and shoot that up.
To kill your rep and possibly get access to the other factions stuff
"bugged"
Why?
Pyro seems expensive to run refineries.
I think it's safer and much more efficient to use them, than try to haul it back to Stanton for a bit more credits
3k uec at stanton 7k uec at pyro to refine. its neglible but still costs more. it was more an observation than suggesting i risk losing all the ore through traveling from pyro to stanton
I noticed similar. My mindset was the cost of fuel + time made is roughly the same to refine at either place
So I just haul finished stuff out to Stanton in one big go
My cargo mover is an msr with a grade b military quantum drive. It doesn't use a lot of fuel but it costs me like 3500 auec ish worth of qt fuel to go from bloom to orison
And I'm guessing it's around 20ish minutes total travel, not including the potential of having to run the jump gate twice if the game bugs out
Just tried thgat yesterday...
This was the cargo manifest..
So many 1 scu boxes...
How do you stay sane?
Took like 2 hours to load and unload.
I returned to this after a few months and I canât figure it out how to salvage fps anymore
When i click normally it wonât do anything and i canât load the multitool with the mags anymore
I am once again asking for the cargo trolley to be reintroduced
can i get sum help with miniung? i have a helix 2 and another laser on a 50k 7% resistance rock and its not doing anything
cuz you have several missions going to the same place, its Space Station -> Planet's Airport and back
they pay well (50k x6) are super easier and can be done in 30 mins
you only need a ship with at least 94 scu (real) of cargo.
For member rank? not really you dont
oh, was it for member?, sorry i did not scroll up xD
yes
Member ones are actually kinda bad. I've noticed that only NB has 4 that you can take. Lorville has 6 that are in the same stations but usually 2 are the same materials and that kinda bugs out (if you try to do them all at once)
The real improvement for moving 1scu boxes would be some kind of tape or strap to combine them together into 8scu boxes
what about AOE grab on the MaxLift?
instead of picking whatever hits the point of the beam, make it an sphere 2x2 and grab any suitable box in the area
A physics nightmare lol
A picture will not make it easier. But tbf wehave seperate gravitations already with ships. Why not scale that down to the size of the tractor beam
So basically sheps rest shouldn't be friendly with me?
last nite i was doing a hitman contract for the HHs, target was some fat guy from the Citizens, im unfriendly with them
arrive to the outpost and i was happy to see the turrets were not shooting at me
so just in case i shoot the turrets and destroy them
sadly missed a turret who started shooting at me when i was leaving
didnt died, was on my Gladius, just boosted the heck out of there
Yeah I don't get it
I swear I never picked a side
I had Sr cfp rep for them tho idk how
But I also did some treat urself too a fight missions for headhunters for rep since the hit a cfp ship never popped up
I have a question. Might be a little dumb.
Iâm a new reclaimer pilot. My friend has a large ship. Does it make sense to continually claim the ship, scrap it, and repeat? Anything stopping us from buying multiple large ships and just rotating them out?
its a typical insurance fraud....
that said, there is nothing stopping you from doing it
its your ship, if you want to much it, so be it
Haha I was thinking the same. But no consequences for fraud insurance yet lol
Is there a faster way to make $$ in the reclaimer? Iâve only been doing the unverified missions in Yela, but often I just get stuck with the cutlass/valk missions that donât pay much
not really, 'finding' large ships is your best path
I see I see
See I did a contract where I flew too sheps rest and killed someone and it didn't do anything
Well u gain less RMC from player ships/party ships
Ohhhhh I didnât know that. Weâre getting like 70 RMC from my friends Carrack. So like equivalent of a hammerhead?
Your wasting your time. You get significantly less RMC doing that then scraping NPC ships.
well Iâm a little dumb and donât know how to find NPC ships lol. Basically what weâve been doing is the unverified missions in yela. But when only the bugged starfarer or cutlass/prospector are available, my buddy backspaces and brings out his carrack.
Essentially banging out the carrack in between hammerhead, andromeda, and caterpillar missions.
Running the Combat scenarios and salvaging those is not a bad idea, same with High level HH missions in Pyro. You get quite a few ships to salvage in those including some with random Cargo
(sometimes drugs in Pyro)
What are the combat scenarios? The ones we do are just the unverified salvage missions
Out of curiosity and ignorance... What ships can make use of the station cargo exterior loading square/fins ?
Which roc mining laser is better?
HUL C
yes yes, that one definitely... was curious if there were any others that could make use of it?
would seem silly for them to engineer an entire cargo system just for the Hull series
its silly indeed..
I imagine if there are other ships like Hull C, the gameplay loop would be like Hull C cargo bugged > switch to the other ship > cargo bugged too > back to the Hull C!
I thought I heard mention the polaris could use it as well.. so I was curious if maybe the Ironclad or Idiris would be candidates
The Gilly missions you can find in the mercenary tab when your near planets.
They spawn NPC waves that you defeat and can salvage afterwards
You also get mercenary script for them
Oooooo ok nice!!
someone was showing me how to use the reclaimer and we did a few missions in Stanton where we would wait in an astroid field for some enemy ships and take them out. Each time there was an enemy reclaimer and another ship or 2 and the base mission paid like $120k. Do you know what this is?
cargo is good money yes but i have no rep where should i start and then whats some good routes once i get rep
Can I use the Reclaimer to get the cmat of the 890 from the 890 mission?
I don't believe the 890 from that mission can be salvaged no, it's a prop rather than a proper ship
Money is also kind of pointless atm
Everybody's got goals, sometimes money helps with that
I wanted to munch the 890 for fun
I crashed ms msr a couple weeks ago. So i spawned a vulture and went and broke it down. The msr can fill the vulture twice
whatâs a cmat?
ooooo
We were able to fully salvage it. Just board, kill pilot and turn off the shields. It's a great mission.
The 890j boarding mission doesn't have a pilot, it's a static prop with NPCs to kill and AFAIK it despawns after the mission
Is there 2 different 890 missions? Ours was 5 months ago near Microtech. Two of us boarded, I got killed, my friend got the shields turned off, I assume he killed the pilot. From that point we used my Reclaimer to scrape it.
Unless they changed the mission when they added it back to PU. I guess the original question asker should try it and let us know !
What amount of crates and size to autoload C2? I cannot figure this out I keep getting errors
for some reason my salvaging turret isnt able to move on the reclaimer, is there a workaround? the right side is able to move but the left one is stuck in place
make sure both turrets have power - go to power management at any of the terminals and make sure BOTH pips are filled in under "salvage head"
it is but I think my ship might have a power cycling issue can't even turn on the headlights atm
destroy it and claim it back.
damn alr
16s/24s (or maybe 32s) for 640scu is the closest I think
Then it's all small boxes. I mean you can fill the whole 696 with 2s but loading takes longer (costs more) and if you do need to move them manually it's gonna suck
the hull c is actually a very small hull
The MISC Hull D (UEE Military Starlift Command call-sign R4M Quasar) kicks off the larger end of the spectrum with a massive ship built around a rugged frame. The Hull D is affordable enough to be operated by mid-sized organizations and companies. They are often used as flagships for mercantile operations, but their bulk means that they should b...
The MISC Hull E (UEE Military Starlift Command call-sign R5M Proteus) is the largest specialized freighter available on the market today, generally owned by major corporations and operated with a high degree of planning. The lack of maneuverability inherent in such a large ship means that anyone planning to operate them should be careful about ...
yeah I'm aware they have a B, D, and E pending but any other non-Hulls that use the system? Like one could wonder if the Fortune, or Raft could load or unload cargo from the outside at the station cargo Fins
They intend, promise pending, to make the exterior delivery cargo elevators functional, so you can park outside a station via Cargo ATC in the loading area, and manually transfer your cargo into the exterior freight elevators.
Whether they enable that for all ships or just the big bois without the ability to land properly in a hangar is up to CIG.
Whats the fastest way to go from covalex member to experienced?
The member missions at crusader all seem kind of bad (no solid stackable missions) but with the rep drop off (or lvl up requirement increase) rookie missions seem kind of pointless?
Would appreciate any tips, currently using c2 with an atls
I went to hurston, there's a bunch of missions to take various materials from everus to various distro centers (covalex, farnesway, Casillo, sakura sun) and teasa spaceport
Try not to stack multiple of the same commodity, unless you're really good at keeping track
Usually you can get a variety though, stims, corundum, titanium, tungsten, quartz, carbon
They're all fairly small too, i was doing them with my raft
There are a series of 7 missions on Microtech where you leave (I think, from Port Tressler) and deliver to 4 depots ...this can be done with a RAFT or maybe other hauler. Grind out this little set over and over again and then feel bad about the increase in your missions at Experienced level And then those are a series of missions leaving Covalex Depot
thanks guys
For pyro hauling, does anyone know of a good reputation earning guide? Which are the best / most efficient missions to gain rep and such?
I think I maybe managed to finish like 3 missions in Pyro so far mainly because the only ones I know to work are pick up at one location and deliver to several as the pick up at several locations and deliver to one location always bugs out?
@tall karma nearly all the missions are bugged tbh
It's taken me a month just to get to Member Rank, hundreds of missions
Only if the outpost is bugged, but should the outpost work then the missions have worked for me.
OK hundreds eas an exaggeration but was easily 60+ for junior rank
Most of the missions are collect from multiple locations and drop at one, these don't work and many of the missions go to 'potential wildlife location' which is the worm site that you can't land at
So 80% of the missions you cannot do
The rest they have 200gm round trip or 300scu of cargo in 8scu boxes so take forever to do
Ahh yeah, I just do pickup at (station name), and drop off at 3 locations usually pretty far from each other, and those have worked.
Seems like I can only reasonably do one at a time
So I've just been going around in a Nomad since they're small amounts.
Yeah they work they just take like 30mins+ and junior was about 40 to do
I said 60 to allow for ganks, bugs, etc
I was hoping to get to a point where I could get Hull C doable missions.
I think that's experienced rank, I'm 20% through Member now
Here's am example Member mission
Hangar 13 is Orbitury if you get it.
It says otherwise in the description but it lies
Unfortunately most of the missions are like this so you can't do them
What's a good start for ranking up hauling rep in Stanton like where I think there was a good route for like higher rank at mt but I don't remember
Actually how far will a cat get me
Seeing around experienced a c2 is wanted
I do have Polaris idk how useable that is for that rank since I can always land then store doesn't take long
For the extra space
Idk seems worth
I remember doing that mission multiple times in 3.18 just so I could salvage it. Go in and kill everyone (including the guards, so you'd have to turn the com array off aswell) and then have a free 890 to salvage
Are you guys getting commodity trading to work more than about 15% of the time? I swear I've lost about 5 mil this patch fucking w it.
It seems like it doesn't matter what I do, either the cargo just straight doesn't load in my ship, it bugs out and won't load in my ship or I get to the final destination and the admin terminal doesn't let me sell it for a multitude of reasons. Its really butt flipping frustrating.
I watched Emily explain how to make it work and follow their guides to the letter. I've loast about 2.5mil today alone.
Like, if its broken and doesn't work and its just flat robbing me and others of money then why is it even in the game currently? What purpose does it serve other than to boofoo me.
@silver creek c2 is overrated. You cap out on euc/hr at the raft. With the Hull C being the only "upgrade" commodity trading is fucked as per my many attempts. And loading the C2 is absolute aids. Save your money. Don't but the C2. If you really want one, get it because you want it. Don't think you'll make a bunch of dough or anything.
Raft only has 180scu tho
Thats like 2 missions
the problem with the higher level missions is you end up hauling 3 commodities to 4 different stops. yes itll pay 350k but itll take you an hour and then if you try to stack 2 or 3 missions keeping everything straight is next to impossible. Believe me bro I regret my c2 purchase
Cuz I found that and seems pretty decent and would say otherwise so idk
Cat would make it pretty easy too separate for separate missions
you cant do the 700k missions with a C2
and the BEST turn ive found is the Tressler to Greycat/ Goldenrod, NB INT can be done with a Raft for 700k in a little under 1 hour
Cat is fine, however just save up a few more mil and get a Hull C
the other thing i've seen - with the cat is its hard to load because the main bigger doors are on the "right" side of the ship. and theres no good way to position in front of the freight elkevators to present the right side for easy loading.
all that said, i wish i would have borrowed someones C2 and ran a mission or 3 before dropping 20million on a ship that can't really be utilized yet. If commodty hauling worked and didn't fuck you constantly - C2 all the way baby. However thats just not the case
Well I have a Asgard I'm gonna start with
Then prolly move too my cat
And or Polaris and then eventually prolly get a hull c
what sucks, imo, is that every ship i've bought had some kind of progression - I bought a vulture then a reclaimer. Progressions, more euc per hour, etc. I started with a drake cutter and then went to a connie taurus, progression. Then i went more specialized to a raft progression. I bought a C2 thinking i'd experience more inherent progression in the ship and its just a big ass side grade. which a 20million ship should not be a side grade.
i very well probablyt am using the C2 wrong, however, I can't find anyone willing to tell me how they use it other than people flaming me for shit talking the ship.
reclaimer is a unique case of the ship not being too bad to just use solo cause all the tools to do what you need to are basically rate limited by default
C2 is hard to use solo cause it's too big and doesn't have comforts like ship tractor beams
honestly if you wanna make the C2 work well the ATLS or MPUV-T are probably your best bet
The advantage of the C2 is the number of contracts you can stack simultaneously. You can do 4-5 contracts all picking up from the same distribution centers on MT or Hurston and then deliver the entire load to PT or EH. That volume won't fit on anything smaller than an M2/Cat and fits most comfortably in the C2.
Where do you guys gas up your reclaimers in Pyro?
Any station
So i've tried this and like I said... the issue you run into is delivering too many commodities to different consignees - and deliveries the same commodities across contracts makes keeping the contracts seperate a very silly, and unecessary game when you can push 700k an hour with the raft - a 3.4 million dollar ship. By this logic, the C2 should be able to blast those numbers out of the water and they dont, unfortunately.
Didnt think i would fit, but you were right
Now, if you have some suggestions to specific contracts I can test them. Contracts are static across all players. The only thing that varies slightly is the amount hauled
Any way to combine smaller scu boxes into larger ones? I just hand loaded 100 1 scu boxes of salvage materials from my vulture into a raft
your best bet in that siutuation is to bring your RCM to Orison and deposit them into the freight elevator
that way you just sell straight from there
but no i dont believe you can conlidate
I did the entire member level with a C2 and ATLS using the exact same contracts you mention for the Raft. This was before the rework of the Raft. Now ease of loading I would probably use the Raft.
As for commodity trading I use my Raft and load it manually. I'll buy 4 full loads of whatever and send it to my cargo elevator. Then I just load up go to the destination unload and return. It's quick and 4 loads equates basically to a full C2 but without the risk of auto load messing up or the 12-13 min wait for the ship to be loaded.
Werric its impossible to get the playerbase to admit that the C2 is just lacking atm. Its a beautiful ship but until autoloading is fixed its mid af
Agreed, there are currently two ways how to make money with hauling contracts, one is stacking small local deliveries, the other is Hull C large solar/interstellar. Both C2 and Cat are too cumbersome for the first one, and too small for second one.
sorry to barge in but i just bought my first hull c and was wondering what component upgrades i should get first?
For (non-autoload) trading you effectively need two people to properly stack boxes. One at TB/ATLS yeeting boxes across distance, the other stacking them with maxlift. And the profit per hour from that doesn't compare with solo hauling with a Raft, Taurus etc...
Just the quantum drive, I guess? Personally Id go for Erebos (civilian A)
No point in upgrading weapons/shields, if you get into a fight, you're dead anywayđ
does upgrading quantum reduce the time?
Yes, better drives have better acceleration/max speed.
Military - hard to get, best accel, best speed, high consumption
Industrial - lowest accel, good speed, low consumption
Civilian - in the middle, low cooldown after full jump (9s, compared to 13 with Mil or 21 with Industrial)
Considering you often need to do multiple jumps per route (around planet, to station, etc) the civ drive cooldown and better acceleration are worth it
How does 2 Hull Cs work? Ive seen in some yt videos that its optimal to use 2 hull C and just respawn when you complete a contract but the Hull C claim time is definetly longer than the time it takes to complete a contract so how is this optimal?
First I would need a reclaimer haha. This was a question for a future case
Where do you buy Copper, corundum or tungsten? For the new event in 4.2.1 ... says you cant buy in Stanton?
That's the point, you shouldn't be able to simply buy it in bulk, you can haul it via contracts, recover from bunkers/ships, mine it, or steal it from others
im trying to get to CRU-l3 but i cant quantum jump to it. any reasons why?
If we aren't in danger of a database wipe or reset, I think I'll try to locate some material for the event then. I did find yesterday a bunch of copper at a hurston facility
Oh also the hangar missions in Pyro where you pay a fee for the location, the freelancer can have copper and tungsten inside it (along with meds)
That's the reverse route which is a logistics nightmare. In MT specifically there is a route where you pick up at 3 or 4 locations, and deliver just to PT. This means zero logistics.
These multi-pickup-single-dropoff are often bugged, single-pickup-multi-dropoff work 99.9% of the time
Testing to see if refined ore moved to local inventory will persist on this update. Here's hoping!! LOL
My thoughts exactly. I did that last week and moved it to my home planet
I thought that was only in Pyro. I didn't have problems with them in Stanton, but it's been a bit. These are all distribution centers with their own personal hangar also
No, it's big time in Stanton. Fails every time over at ArcCorp.
I just do the MT loop. Arc doesn't have distribution centers...
Regular hauling you don't need just DPs for that, any outpost will work
Fly to distribution center, request landing, get your own instanced large hangar, load cargo, repeat for each distribution location, deliver to PT.
Outposts are the most buggy hauling experience...
Those all worked fine. It's the multi to one location that fail
That's 100% the reason to use the DC because you get your own hangar
The same rewrites the source of the haul to all be the same place and don't recognize the original source
Overall I've not had any issues with outpost. Yes, trashed ships all around, but the freight elevators have been working. I do enjoy the DC's because of that extra safety and luxury of private hanger
I normally work out of ArcCorp but might need to also gain rep over at Hurston because that black armor looks way nicer than the red one
Is there a way to make roc/geo mining profitable /hr like other game loops?
Technically it's pure profit, just not high profit
Itâs viable but compare to other game loops, itâs bad.
Depending where and what you mine you can make like 450k-1mil per hour with cluster spawns on your side in my experience
The earnings won't be the hotly pursued "meta earnings" but it is always enjoyable
I was in Fuego yesterday mining for feynmaline and Aberdeen looking for hadanites but couldnât find any.
Itâs pretty chill. I like it.
Aberdeen looks like crap though compared to Fuego.
ROC mining (and Geo too, I guess) is one of the best ways to just live off-grid from the rest of the 'verse
You might consider doing cave spelunking with the Geo. I did a cave bounty on Hurston not long ago, and the cave was filled with hadanite, dolvine, etc + big enough to fly my ship into.
It was a cave next to a big lake, so one of the big caves
Plus I think you can ping spam in the GEO to identity rocks?
I checked verseguide for cave mining but even then holy crap those caves are hard to find.
I guess Iâll pick a cave mission and mine
Yeah, if you do the Vaughn ones you won't have to actually fight. Getting regular bounties and the ships will attack.
We need data running game loops. Where players sell the location and then you can directly quantum travel to it for one time use.
Pretty sure they're going to be coming as they are two ships that are clearly dedicated towards that idea
Yes, please
I tried commodity trading yesterday first time with the hull c. Went surprisingly smooth, I invested 4m and made 5m with scrap
My msr perked up at that
Iâd buy those data locations. I checked verseguide and thereâs so many unmarked POIs!
Data running and spy shit is a major factor in my continued love for this game
I didn't buy a knockoff milenium falcon for nothing
can you buy a GEO ingame yet?
Yep
Anyone know if the head hunter cargo missions arenât bugged anymore?
where would be the most profitable place to mine with my brand new prospector
Celin. Not as exposed as Yela, no atmosphere, lots of taranite (quant is a nice bonus).
If you're new to mining, get Hofstede 1 and Rieger C3 module, if experienced, get Helix 1, Rieger C3 and Focus III
And remember, tomorrow is patch day, better have the ship safely stored with no custom comps
Do you lose the custom comps you have in your ships?
Its entirely random. Last patch I lost like 50% of my custom components, the patch before it was every single custom component.
And I didn't unequip anything in the most recent patch, but in the one where I lost everything I had fully unequipped all components.
So basically, all these steps proposed for going to your home city, remove all custom components, etc etc - that's supposed to help mitigate loss, but the reality is that it doesn't seem to matter.
Gotcha
What 100% can be reproduced is making sure any ships your purchased in game are stored, not unknown or destroyed, because they will be wiped if you fail to store them properly.
Last time I lost everything I had attached on ships, items in inventory stayed. But yeah, it's random...
Though, once again, last patch I stored everything correctly and still lost 4 of my aUEC ships.
Iâll do this tonight. Thanks!
Is it necessary to delete the shaders before patch?
A long time back now, shaders are stored in their own patch specific folder, so every new patch already starts with new shaders. Its good to delete them to free up disk space though
on 4.0 i lost EVERY darn weapon and component on all my ships
but on 4.1 i did not lost any equiped comp, event those 'recycled' from other ships were there in my inventory
lost all non-equiped components
nope unless CIG says so on the patch notes
Yo, what does master covalex rep actually unlock, like what is the direct interstellar payout compared to senior?
almost anywhere, specially on asteroid belts, just ping looking for large signals, they also have an special icon on the signal.
How large?
How large?
i found 2 of this few days ago on CRU-L2
like 14,000?
sorry i failed to screenshot the signal for that,
more like 40-50k
ok thanks
the bigger the better, girls always say đ
whats the special symbol?
a ⥠you will notice it
so not this???
no, but thats a nice panel group, u should take it
alright let me go see
ooooo yes I see!!
thanks very much
There a trick to off loading the reclaimer? I heard from someone that you didnt need to spam the door open and closed, just at the end for the stragglers. But the poop chute just clogged within about 4 containers.
There a specific orientation I should be throwing them in with?
okay it was the angle i put them in at, side ways works a lot better
How much does the direct interstellar master hauling contracts give you? (Gateway - gateway)
Hi, did you unlock the ports? You can close and open the ports to break them free. Or stand to the extreme wall looking down into the poop chute and try the tractor beam.
It off loaded easy when i pushed them into the chute sideways instead of orienting them vertically. Just had to close the chute once when all the boxes were out to drop the stragglers.
Ok cool!
Have about 100 rmc what's the best spot too sell it
Orison
Hi all, did someone want to make the cargo event with mining? Maybe this can be good loop. Mine grade a-b ore and bring the "garbade" ore: tungsten, corundum and coppet to cargo-event.
What do you think?
I dunno, unless CIG has adjusted the SCU volumes needed, I donât see mining being a viable option for the event
what is the caranite (pure) in the next patch for the wikelo polaris is it just refined caranite?
No it's a random drop from mining the caranite nodes.
how often does it drop
I'm not sure that's been determined. All I know from various testers is that it's found as a "rare" drop when you crack a caranite rock.
is it only in ptu
Maybe you'll get one or two per mining window?
Yes, until later today when they patch
IMO just buy it off the mining crews that lock hathor down.
Polaris is a lot more obtainable from "crafting" when you focus on making money and doing the parts of that collection process you enjoy, and buy the rest from players
I enjoyed the effort, raiding caves with hostile players, winning and taking ore little by little. Hunting the wildlife. Searching for rare drop items in PAFs. It was all fun until mining 2400scu of quant was a reality and that's when I started buying bits
I enjoyed grinding scrip, but hated the turn in process
i did align and mine and got all the normal caranite I needed last night with a group
The basic caranite requirements in the next patch are way less than current live because you don't need the Ana Endro armor anymore which cost 20 caranite per piece and it would be random which piece you got.
People are going to have way more caranite than needed going forward because they'll be hunting the pure drops. It'd be nice if CIG made hathor ore sellable at admin
Canât wait for tonight! Iâm going to be hauling so much cargo once the patch is liveđ
May the bug fixes be in your favour
Am I able to use a Hull C during resource drive or no because I saw them mention you have to get the commodityâs from outposts, not LEOs or stations.
Unless I can pick it up from stations
Just tryna get as much cargo as possible in 1 go. Maybe the defend transport would be best for that?
I got my raft ready. I just hope the patch downloads fast for me tonight
ohh the lag in game and queues will be a hell, no doubt
Hopefully the event runs for more than a month đ
agree, finally got a good event to do
I hope this event turns out well. Iâd love for them to do more Industrial events in the future.
Remind me of the elite dangerous events where people would donate resources to build new stations and such.
I wish they would do something like that. More dynamic.
Nothing we do has any impact yet
With reclaimer changes could cinch be worth over abrade
damn so fun fact, for anybody doing the supply grade missions. All cargo doesn't fit in a Zues CL... and I couldn't complete it to count the last 2 boxes didn't fit
The raft is so good for this event!
Was kinda hoping that salvaging was gonna have a role in this event. But Iâll take mining as well
I plan to do one of the cargo missions that you find the broken down ship and just snag that ship to do the cargo runs lol
Looking to rent my first raft I'm at a18, do I have to go to hurston to rent or can I get one at baijini?
Hey guys just wondering whats the best way and area to grind out hauling missions. I'm currently member rank and renting a raft
salvager here. vulture or reclaimer?
#industrial-professions message
And the message below it as well, either hurston or microtech
Perfect cheers
Has anyone tried a multi-location hauling mission where you pickup from multiple locations and deliver to one since the patch?
Guys for the life resource drive what does t6he "system total SCU" means?
total contribution of everyone else for said megacorp
This is definitely my favorite event ever in the game!
Rocks on MicroTech aren't physicalising. :\
using planet elevators is the worst
Sadly a known issue
I do love when they put out an event with so many supporting features broken
so do mining gadgets not restock
Does the Asgard have 180 on grid storage? I'm trying to do a large haul contract and ran out with plenty of 4SCU crates to go
It does, but layout is wonky
It still does have enough space around to physically fit the boxes. They might just... wobble a bit
Can i swap out the shield on a reclaimer with the one from an 890?
Iirc they are locked on the vlm, so no
Lame. Thanks anyway
would you pick the vulture or the fortune for salvaging? Since they are the exact same price point which one makes more sense
If I remember right its 1 Salvage Head and external Cargo on the Fortune vs 2 Salvage Heads but internal Cargo that you need to unload on the Vulture
As someone who has both I like the fortune for when I'm lazy and don't expect to far exceed the 12+ 13 buffer hold. And vulture if I feel like cramming as much as I can. Fortune can technically hold more but is very tedious. Also both were given a scraping buff this patch so less relevant now
So the time needed to complete 1 ship is somewhat the same?
If you move the 2 vulture heads so they aren't overlapping its still faster, but not by much
What range of cargo capacity do the event missions call for?
I think around 180SCU for large hauls
small is like 50? medium is like 80 or 100? large is like 160-180 i think
any tips and stuff for freight? ive got 1.2m and my rep is junior
Vulture. I found the fortune to be tedious with one head. If it was priced much lower then it would be a good starter.
where do people find the UEE 6th Platoon Medal (Pristine)
You want to trade with your own money, or do hauling contracts?
Stanton is right now full of haulers doing the event, so outpost elevators are clogged and some stackable contracts don't work. I'd suggest going to Pyro and trying some atlassium, partilium or drugs. Chawla's beach to Bueno Ravine is generally quiet, you buy 10 scu for 600k and sell for 800k.
Depends what ship you have
I've heard that what was previously rented is now owned... well, LTP taketh, and LTP giveth
Raft is a bit defenseless for Pyro, but Taurus can be used for some meaningful hauling of bexalite, xapyen and meds (meds got update in price and availability, so sc-tools can't be really used now). Another option is hauling at Terminus. There's like a single outpost and single station, so you can just fly between these two points and stack 5-7 50k contracts per loop.
Small is 9, medium is 48 and large is 180
where is my dedicated hand mining tool?
has anyone found the caranite (pure)
is Raft's tractor broken?
oh, maybe i was thinking of the small cargo rescue mission which had 50
was working for me literally a few mins ago
beam is just fine, did you turned it on?
powered on the console, made sure it had power, no button to remote in tho
it is the top deck location in the rear, right?
can anybody recomend the best mining and salvage ships just to get into the loops
like if i can rent some
Salvage you can't rent.
Mining, it's not ideal, cause default loadouts aren't good.
You can edit the loadouts with tractor beam, but you won't be able to save, so if you lose them, there's no claiming them.
But it's good enough to try and get used to it.
100% with Zorgh. An alternative to try out mining is to work as crew on someone else's Mole as a laser operator
At the moment, does abandoning a cargo / hauling contract (red wind linehaul) cause reputation loss? I don't want to test this personally, just need to know if clicking the abandon button does cause rep loss.
can you still put mole bags on a prospector?
dont have an official statement for that but
this is for missions on the current event
should follow same rules
yes and now you can buy the bags from any Cargo area or Refinery
sweet
I just got the reclaimer. Whatâs a good game loop to do in the current patch? Mix in some foxwell missions now that it has pdcâs?
ny mole loadout ?
My reason for asking was that there's only 2 bulk contracts available at a time, and they're usually unreasonable in Pyro. So my new strategy is just accept them, wait, and then a new one pops up with less than 150scu to deliver and I do that one. And then when I log out it clears my mission log without rep impact.
This is fine, I do it all the time
No penalty for abandoned hauling missions
They can go as low as like 50scu if you're lucky but I take any around 100
whats the goto prospector mining loadout?
is the idris a good option for cargo hauling?
Not if you wanna collect in/deliver to space stations
ah ok. Whats your recommendation for best cargo ships? C2 and Hull C im gussing?
wouldnt mind a cheaper option though then those 2.
They're the top tier, but you don't have to go for those.
RAFT is great if you're looking for smaller scale stuff.
If you want high scale trading you don't have much choice but C2/Hull-C
Ah ok raft is what I have right now. You have a preference between C2 and hull C? Definitly do want to scale higher
Hull c has very limited cargo routes on account of its loading system and inability to land with cargo, I'd go c2 as it has much more versatility.
If youâre below senior rank covalex, get the C2 and stack missions.
At senior rank, get the Hull C for the 698k missions.
Big Hull-C contracts start at Experienced
Are the MOLE still soloable, or did the new wind/turbulence system sabotage that by blowing your ships off course?
Ah I see alright thank you!
The turbulence system was disabled in 4.2.1
is hauling contract reward split?
what kinds of deposits is tungsten in on wala?
But did it cause issues soloing the MOLE?
how do you access trhe raft tractor beam and is it worth using
i found it, control station in the back, although i think an atls on the ground might be better
anyone know why sometimes the atls doesn't work (like, I'm doing a hauling mission, and I cannot pick up the cargo from the elevator with the atls or the maxlift, only with the pyro multi-tool)
I had that kind of issue a while ago, if I remember there was an invisible wall on the cargo lift that the atls beam stopped at so I had to manually lift cargo through it. Might be a different issue you have though
can you not extend the bottom grid of the hull c?
you are right, I tried moving the cargo with the multi-tool to the edge of the elevator and it worked
All 4 sides extend together. If it doesn't on yours, it's likely broken
Oh, I was just wondering because I saw a guy landing planet side with...well, the bottom grid missing
Yeah you can do that
But uh, if you load that up in 1g, you're not taking off anymore
haha not really
I am so over using the Asgard for cargo....I swear if I step on the ramp one more time and the ship goes flying up in the air I am going to melt that bastard lol
then your new cargo ship has 4 letters: RAFT
- Pro: No Ramp
Yeah I was actually trying to get the 3.5 mil to buy it in game lol
if CIG could just give me a way to attach the ATLS to the RAFT I would be set
You can rent for 70k a day to start with
Is mole still the best solo miner? (Only care for the 3 ores for this event if it matters)
Also atls attaches and detaches but you need to stand back 15 to 20 meters
Okay, Asgard worth keeping and using for the event or melt with other things to get either the Zeus CL/Max, Zeus CL/Cat, Raft/Max, or Raft/Cat?
Wait what really?
Yeah it's a bug but can be worked around
i imagine i can do the mining via a prospector; been trying to understand regolith, are C/E type rocks best to find for tungsten?
They have the highest probabilities for Tungsten, and in large quantities yeah. Doesn't necessarily means the other types are bad tho
copy that, so pretty much just scan rocks to find high enough composition i want? any rec for laser/mod?
This
Anyone have any thoughts on my question?
Not sure if MAX is Starlancer MAX or Freelancer, but in any case, no point having that when RAFT exists.
RAFT/Cat only duo that kinda makes sense here, but I wouldn't turn an Asgard into that
The problem is the Asgard can't really do the Heavy missions
Its grid is pretty great tho, and it can fit even more with off grid
Oh I know that.
cant the bags be changed out too? mole bags on the prospector?
Yeah
@spare cloud what would you recommend as a prospector head + modules for the 3 event ores?
Always the same thing. Opens the door to the most rocks.
^
If you're comfortable with active modules, you can go with Surge + Stampede, but that really is the big rock killer setup. Not that Prospector is a big rock killer, but it's overkill for the event ores.
If you're not comfortable with active modules, 2x Rieger-C3 will do the trick, but a lil surge is always great if you find a nice rock that's just out of reach with only Riegers
What's the fastest qt drive i can put on a raft for doing the event at max speed?
XL-1. Not buyable. Next one is Hemera.
Why don't i get missions for Hur, only the others which I'm not grinding?
Is this what you recommend for mining?
missions are shared among all players in the server
if you dont see a mission is because someone else got it before you
try on a different server.
I"m new to regolith. Is there a way I can pick 3 ores (the event ones) and see where they are most comon? I seem to only be able to start with location
Have yall tried to accept a pickup mission, collect then abandon and accept another to double up?
I was reading the Microtech moons are all good to try.
I don't think you need to deliver all 3 (could be wrong), you may be able to deliver any
yes
all missions are split among party memebers
is hauling more profitable rthan buying/selling cargo
unrelated reply, forgot to disable it
Does anyone have tried and compare the efficiency between missions and mining? Is mining quicker?
I did some napkin math and decided as long as I was getting regular missions the hauling is faster. But in practice hauling has sucked for the last day sooooo not sure
I also bet you could sell mined resources for a lot to players who just want to finish the missions
Yesterday my day was full of bugged elevators and switcing servers. I think ill go with mining..
Good idea
Hello, I was mining with prospector for first time but now I cant move the ship with wasd, just mouse movement and q/e
any ideas?
scroll up with the scroll wheel
anyone know how i can get refined goods autoloaded onto a hull c? i feel like i might be overthinking this, but still feel a bit confused
You can't
mm, fun. guess i can do multiple c2 runs if i need to
Does anyone know if pyro hauling missions pay out more than stanton missions at higher ranks?
commodity trading can give you a lot of credits
but it is dangerous, game bugs, server performance, pirates, etc.. can make you lose ALL very easily
hauling is less profitable but far more secure, if anything fails, you wont lose anything
What happens if you backspace inside freight elevators? Does it bug out the elevator?
did they update teh reclaimer?
It has PDCs now
did they update the scrapers?
I canât comment on that since itâs my first time having a reclaimer. Iâm using Abrade and itâs pretty quick.
how much you make per hr?
I've tried looking before asking but can't find an answer to this problem. Used a Prospector and after breaking a rock, the ship loses all thrusters. I can rotate it, power down e.t.c but no thrusters at all. Thought after 3 failed attempts maybe it's just the Prospector. Bought a Golem, same problem. Can someone please explain either what I'm doing wrong or help me understand how to fix it?
Rotate it. The ship or the engines ?
The ship, it can rotate just fine but absolutely no movement available laterally or vertically (using WASD) keys. Rolls fine with Q and E, but that's it. I've tried resetting power, putting more to thrusters e.t.c. Turning off and on, nothing
After 3 attempts in the Prospector and now the Golem there is surely something I'm missing here
You need to scroll up
Oh god damn is it really that simple, speed limiter
It's worked. Can't believe I missed something that obvious when it happens to me when mining on foot all the time. Thanks
CIG did many changes since 3.23, including moving speed limiter from Scroll wheel to Alt + Scroll wheel, for good reasons because they changed so many other things and it would have been conflicting without this change.
Best you leave it to Alt + Scroll Wheel or rebind the rest
In the current patch, am I better off doing cargo missions in a connie or renting a prospector? I'm getting back into SC after a year or so.
Cargo missions in a RAFT
is the raft rentable?
Yes
My first run was 1.6m for what felt like 2+ hours. Iâm not efficient with it yet.
Right now, Iâm trying to rank up Headhunters with 20k-50k fee salvage runs using the reclaimer. Thereâs a salvage mission Iâm trying to unlock that has you salvage a C2 with gold scu.
I had an idea but I don't know if I should try it, I thought about buying a ROC and putting it on my C2 and going mining, could it be profitable or should I keep salvaging with a vulture?
In my experience roc mining you need to hunt specifically for those more rare ores otherwise your wasting your time. Best to have a scout looking for the good rocks while you gather
As far as profit per hr these days I have no idea
It's two C2 or one C2 and a hammerhead
Gotta get that last bit of scu
Why is it so hard to tell which rocks give tungsten on Lyria?
Nowhere says anything .. I must be dumb.
I guess the cheat sheets might help despite being outdated.
But no rocks are giving it ..
aaaand all rocks are impossible despite max power possible on mole lasers.
tiring.
EVERY ROCK IS IMPOSSIBLE DESPITE MAX POWER LASER AND POWER ATTACHMENT
UGH
Sorry for the ramble. I have nobody to ask about this.
Tungsten sucks, because it has a ridiculous mass, so you get very heavy (and thus hard to break) rocks with not that many SCU, compared to corundum (or even copper)
regolith.rocks are the new cheat sheets đ
What do these percentages mean next to the yield? Dont think its the overflow amount because i saw like -20% once on a polaris and that was way more than I could hold
Its a percentage multiplier to the base yield. It changes depending on your orientation in relation to the ship you're salvaging
Distance to the ship also impacts it
Oh so theres more too it than "point the claw at it"
Is there a cap to it?
I dont know, but +10-15% is about as high as I've seen before
Good to know. Is there any similar mechanics with scraping and optimal distance?
I dont think so
Any tricks to making the atls actually want to snap to cargo grid?
Actually it might have been a bugged elevator, even hand tractor didnt want to snap
how up-to-date is UEX corp's trade route data? I mean, can I use certain routes again and will the data update? I'm asking because maybe I might not able to sell my stuff a 2nd or 3rd time because the station's inventory is full
You should be able to see when was the info last updated in one of the columns on the right. In general you can get a picture about prices, but not about inventory fullness.
There's no real-time data mining from SC, just dedicated runners who upload the data to the system every couple of days
Did they ever fix the SRV so that you can tow ships in quantum?
Hey mining homies, I need your help.
I was buzzing around CRU L3 looking for some sweet rock to crack, and I noticed that there weren't that many rocks around. I've watched videos of people mining and they seem like they're surrounded by the veiniest rocks around. What gives? Am I in the wrong place?
Like, the quantity of total rocks available is very large.
FYI:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1m5h0nu/psa_fix_for_infinite_elevator_loading_screen/
Yeah, but towing is limited to some pretty small ships.
Guessing the Raft is likely too large?
Actually may be small enough. I think the constellation was too big
SRV can tow in QT every S4 ship and smaller
Pirate group planning to soft death and tow vs loot on site?
The wiki doesn't seem to assign ships to size values, how do you tell if a ship is S1-5/6?
It just says small medium large ect
caterpillar, C2, carrack. Ships of those size are S5 I believe
Yeah, getting tired of double loading cargo. These 4scu crates are pain. Distortion has been finicky with some ships too
how profitable is the new event
100k+ per mission, when elevators work
but we are not doing it for money but for the rewards
there are more profitable misions at Pyro
currently what is the most profitable thing to do rn
im in a corsair if that helps the question
if you have HRT unlock, go pyro and do Bounties, they pay around 140k per mission and you can complete a mission every 5 mins or so
care only to kill the target, ignore the minions.
what is hrt?
what ships will i be fighting
Corsair is fine for HRTs, may struggle with the starting missions since they are little and agile ships
i lost all my components since i forgot to strip my corsair before the patch
thye should all be in the inventory at your main city, did you check?
since you are starting ill recomend you to do Hauling missions
there will be an intro starting mission
i know my way around the game
im just tryna make money
i already have hrt with bounty hunters guild
you didnt knew what HRT means, but ok, fair enough
i know what high risk target, just didnt know that thats what hrt stood for
most of my components were there
missing 4 guns
yeah, i also lost a few things, but most stuff was spared
im mostly happy that i got to keep my antium black set
im in pyro and im in my contracts but i dont see any contracts for 140k
try jumping to a planet, and then checking
i was at checkmate when i checked
did you have lower paying contracts?
weird
I wonder if you have to redo your certification missions in stanton before you can get the missions in pyro?
i have hrt missions they just only pay 44k
maybe you need to re-do the certification contract, all previous certs should be on the missions list
on stanton..
More of a #flight-combat-racing topic, but I've heard the bounty contracts in Pyro got a payout nerf this patch
No, this was changed. They pay the same as Stanton now
that's sad
Once the hotfix comes around and the Combat Gauntlet missions are back in circulation, those are 100% the highest profit / hr for non-hauling.
Since this is the industrial channel, doing hauling missions with a rented RAFT until you are a senior hauler, at which time you should be able to afford the Hull C is great money.
Once you buy the Hull C, you can do 2+mil an hour since they have fixed most of the Hull C hauling issues, and senior missions pay 600k+ per 15-20 minute loops
That's 100% server specific
not right now, griefers are fighting with Elevators, just like the rest of us
I almost never bump into hostility going to GH...
i just remember a week back i couldnt get in or out cuz ppl just killed me whenever i got out
Swap servers, and problem goes away
Grim is a great place to 'rescue' rare components and weapons from derelic ships
anyone has max hauling rep?
i was gonna try to crack a quant rock. so i throw a gadget on it. gadget said it wasnt a minable rock. weird but sure, games buggy atm. so then the game deletes it from my inventory. frustrating but ok. then i go to pick it up (game tossed it down a hill for some reason). and i cant interact with it at all.
deep breath
Master in Stanton
what do u recommend to get repfrom experience to master
Just keep doing missions
There's no best way, it's just a grind
Once you get to senior I'm sorry to say it's really slow and the master missions aren't worth that grind so honestly just do what you enjoy and if you get there, great.
@mild pumice master haulers here yeee really hoping for better usability with the Hull C's. I do feel they are going to be a huge factor for the economy in the near future
yeah definitely
There is an issue this patch where some rocks don't have collision with ships- likely might be what is causing that issue
How do I unlock hauling in pyro
Hey yall, how do we monitor our progress for a certain faction during the current new event? I gotta get to T5 for Crusader.
Now i don't know if its safe to ask this here so hopefully it is awnsered before the mods ban me for posting in the wrong xhannelđđ¤Łđ

Thank ya
Prospector vs Golem/C2?
Prospector until the bugs with you losing your bags go away
Had an org mate have his bags become uninteractable for whatever reason
At one point I heard you could stack a Fury onto a Hull C spindle, can still do that / also can you stack any other ships on spindles if so?
for the resource drive whats good for a prospector build?
anybody know how much a hull c can hold to be able to fly in atmosphere?
Depends on the gravity
No, they themselves are essentially SCU crates. The only one I can think of is the Geo since it spits out 1/8th SCU crates
There is no change to recommended load outs AFAIK
I can put the Roc mining back in 8 SCU crates
Right, forgot about the Roc. Ground mining stuff can go into crates
It's the ore pods from argo/misc/drake that are too large
Are you not able to refine the ores while the C2 is stored with the bags?
Assuming no bugs that make your cargo uninteractable, you absolutely can.
according to regolith it is saying i should get out of 5,017 cScu into 4,350 cScu, so does that work out to 43scu ?
so ill have 43 scu of copper for the event?
No, you'll have 51. The yield calculation has already been made, you dropped like 60 SCUs of will have 51 at the end.
ah thanks Zorgh trying to get use this and solo mole work, haha i found a good rock and uesd a surge module for first time blew up the rock ^^ almost took myself out
but mining is zen, was relaxed, crusing, not worried about bugs, people trying to stea my boxes from a elevator ^^ was good
Surge and Stampede can be surprising sometimes, and not easy to manage when the green window is small.
If you're not used to it, it'll come
after some time, it gets easy||-ish||
I like that about mining also. It's usually super chill and relaxing.
Mining is certainly very relaxing in comparison to bugged elevator simulator
does the bug where the cargo wont appear after pulling up only happens to outpostz/
I also like fps mining for that same reason, but I don't get many chances to fps mine atm
yea, i have a mole and prospector, trying to figure what will be good for this event, saw on youtube solo mole was good for size but getting in and out of seats was bad at first but if rocks are decent size its not bad, but then people in game saying take the bags of mole put them on prospector and its more efficient
I've avoided active modules myself, but an org mate recommended Torpids I believe to help with staying in the green zone
Turbulence has changed the game of solo mining a bit. You either avoid placed with atmosphere when solo Mole'ing, or use Golem/Prospector
IME staying in small green zones when you don't have an active module is easy enough, it's just a matter of adding and removing 1-3% of laser power every couple seconds.
ooo is that why i had to land on ground, i couldnt hover, so id just land on top of the rocks in the mole
yes
im base in the mic-l2 and doing euterpe, from what i read it has 2/3 ores for event so was thinking it be easier to farm it there
haha i tried to do the halo but gave up ^^
hit it 1/10 times
guys is ROC mining worth it
looking forward to the days we can place custom markers and jump to them
God yes please
You don't have to target all 3 ores, you can target any of the 3.
The only way to do that atm as far as I'm aware is have a 2nd ship for a jump point
I went to CRU-L3 on monday.
It was... surprising, kinda
Went with the Connie, so I could use it as a QT marker for my MOLE, since you can only reach CRU-L3 by triangulation
Was disappointed
yea, ive been waiting on the ability to do short range jump boosts and i got hooked last citizencon Crafting is here its around the corner, brought a pioneer and now i sit looking at a caterpillar that is meant to be a pioneer ^^
but can use the caterpillar to hawl the cargo i refine so silver linings
You guys think it's worth trying to hit the Aaron asteroid belt for the event?
Nah
things i want to see are the custom engine trail colors, laser/mining laser custom colors, paints matching the insdie of the ship so if you got a red paint your interior is red trims to match the paint job, and for the love of god NIGHTVISION ^^ i crash to surfaces so many times, anyone done that dropping from space to surface oh ST oh st BOOM
I tab spam in the darkness to avoid a face plant at speed
That's the way
But occasionally I'll flat out smack the surface at full speed
ive been saved a few times by lowering hte landing gear ^^
Especially when I jump in a smaller light fighter craft. I have the timings of my msr ingrained lol
The only night vision I've seen so far are some fps attachments. Aparently tho some people use sweetfx I think, to add faux night vision
@steady lily hey mate, from my understanding hand mining has had tweaks and passes with the atls geo so it is more profit then before, but its just a matter of how effective you are, whether its better then other things they are constantly changing so no one thing is best pay over all others
im actually getting more enjoyment out of the game due to hcs voice packs, i got captain kirk data from next gen and listening to them respond to me is soo nerdgasim
Speaking of hand mining. Do Caves have some kind of marker or anything to show their entrance?
The only time I'm able to successfully find a cave is if a mission sends me there
not thai m aware off, i use to look for the missions to point to them
they dont, you just have to know where it is
i have this thought in my head that it is procedure generated so it creates them every time but i think that is wrong just someone from a citzon vid or something
Yeah I was hoping there was some kind of "oh that's probably a cave" feature for entrances lol
caves are static locations, like bunkers. They're always there
A lot of PvE bounties are "above a cave" so you can use that to find one. There are a bunch of other contracts that lead to caves.
You can also use verseguide.com and go to a cave by yourself using coordinates.
I have a hard time going back to where I was. But let me tell you guys. I can and do run back across rocks I've already scanned quite often lol
Wish I could do that with other things in game
how about ROC greycat?
Try to always follow the sun on surface, so you never go by the same rocks twice and stay in day light longer.
In space, get a point of reference, like the station at a lagrange point, or an OM marker in Yela belt, and always go toward or away from that point of reference.
that is a bit better and i use to do that for diamonds on lyria when i first started
I'm gonna try that after this event. Kill said bounty, loot them. Then go look around in the cave
Great tips. I never considered. I do try to use markers and such, general direction. Would be nice if we had a compass
There is a compass, at least when in atmo.
yea when microtect forest and river first came in getting there was like jump here fly this direct to this point change direction fly this way till this far just to get there
Trying to follow directions like that is how I end up in the middle of nowhere frustrated af
Now imagine if they ever add some futuristic way to know where you are!
Does maintenance kill refinery work orders? Asking for a friendâŚ
Typically only the major updates kill refinery work orders
Thanks. đ¤đź
ok done and landed before maintence, thank you for the info and help guys, have a good night
whats the best head for a Reclaimer? i am currently running cinches, but i wanna try abrades
also uh. i was in orbit around crusader when the maintenance hit
mmight be a problem
Abrade still reign king amongst all Salvage ships for Scu per hour
any ever get stuck on MOLE ladder for middle turret? get to top do a 360 n auto go on ladder again same at bottom.
Try not to hold W when you reach the top of the ladder
As for the bottom, you can just drop down instead of using the ladder.
had it twice and very annoying losing al the stuff mined and having to back space
usually happens to be on way up lol
aight thanku
Solo miner here, should I stick with my mole or get the golem?
How to tell what mining head slot is front one on MOLE
It's the 1
Golem is the worst you can go with. Prospector for surface mining, MOLE for space.
Any of you guys experiencing salvage beams going really slow now?
its happening to both my vulture and fortune
i salvage plates and most ships at a snails pace now, dunno why
hammerheads still scrape at full speed but trying to scrape plates, its like my abrades became even slower than trawlers. I watched some salvage videos and in them the youtubers are salvaging plates fine
That's entirely subjective
The Golem is simplicity personified. Less versatility than the prospector but easier stacking boxes and quick in and out for attaching gadgets to rocks.
Is really small so can fit in quite a few bigger ships
You get more versatility with the prospector but that comes with a few trade-offs
Slower in and outs. Annoying bags but a bit more capacity overall.
Are you by chance using the Vulcan renderer?
There wasn't really a question of mother ship and stacking ore pods here, so I figured gadget speed didn't matter that much over a much better head and +50% capacity
Pretty sure it's plus 16 capacity
Which is +50%, yes.
The Golem is 32
yes, I never connected that as what might be causing it
Prosp 32. Modified Prosp 48.
32 +50% = 48
ill try it without vulkan and see if it works, im trying ti in like 12 hours and can ping when im done
Try DX11 I had the same issue
It's dumb but it works
yeah i kindve stopped salvagng because of this bug
i wanna get back to it
hope it works for me too
Sorry, mate. I've lost my share, too. That's a new one for me, though. Thanks for sharing.
I was more referring to moving two boxes instead of four. Plus they have an easier time stacking when And If that matters. Which there is quite a few options or using a large ship or mothership to haul extra bags.
It's fine to not like it, but it certainly has its uses and advantages over the prospector.
I don't bother moving the cargo at all. Just store the ship and refine, tho I use a MOLE, so it's undeniably much faster this way
When I log off is it expected behavior that any materials mined stored in cargo SCU disappear in the mole?
Itâs a bit tedious to jump from seat to seat, Iâm debating buying a 2nd account just to setup for the mining seat tbh
Mine something, start extracting it and see if the number updates or not
I'm not 100% on the math so I will defer to experts.
But can't the prospector equip the same mining heads the mole can? Or can the mole Go bigger?
Prospector = Size 1
Mole = Size 2
Definite Plus for cracking bigger rocks then. I can see that appeal.
Loses me on everything else solo wise though
i hate seeing rocks that are too big to crack, so i love the mole for that
then for the really big rocks you can stick 3 surges on a side laser and crack up to like 70 or 90k mass or smth
Ahh man I logged off but Iâll try again later
You can do that with a Helix II stacked with surges?
Idk the upper limit but it is around there
Iâve only used them once on a 60k rock and it instantly exploded
I am now tempted to make a laser for that purpose lol. I got mine for multicrew use, and I got 1 Hoph- and 2 Helixes with a focus 3 and 2 of the passive power boost
Yea multicrew I love the 2 hophs
Solo Iâm at 1 hoph 2 helix, one helix with just 3 focuses then 1 stacked with surges as a nuclear button that I need more practice with
I wanted to go passive mods so I went twin Helix.
The only time I used it I blew up a 150 scu rock that was 28% quant
Is 3 focuses worth it on that Helix? I know it looses a bucha power
Sorry not focuses
That's a big rock lol. I think i might need a nuclear optionđ
Not used very often, hophs got petty much all
Still experimenting with stuff, surge modules are small enough to fit a bunch your backpack so I think I can hop out of the ship and replace used ones
Donât think itâs like salvage modules where thereâs no ship port for them
Yeah you can hot swap mods.
Tbh you could just carry the active mods with you but its more of a pain. Plus you could loose em to. But they are cheap af.
yeah the inconvenien tpart is having to go to a station that sells them
so im just gonna load up a 4scu box of them or smth and leave those in cru l1 or my refinery of choice, restocking when i need more
When mining, does the 'impossible' tag mean you wont be able to mine that rock by yourself? or will you be ably to mine it if there are multiple lasers or if ur solo, if you get a better laser with more power?
what i mainly want to know is if im ever able to crack those rocks in a prospector
in the prospector you are hosed
it does mean if you have more power then you can crack it
just impossible with your current setup
its still worth trying because sometiems it is wrong, but 9/10 times it is right
youll know its impossible if you beam it at full power for a couple seconds and the bar doesnt move
But if i got a MOLE and used 2 lasers with a freind would it be possible?
on the Mole sometiems it says impossible but then i can still break it
for most of them it would be possible just solo in a MOLE, its lasers are individually a lot stronger
oh ok
but otherwise yeah, more laser beams ona rock is more power
ok might get a mole then
they dont necessarily need to be in the mole with you, they can be in their own prospectors as well
but my friend doesnt ahve any mining ships so i just put him in my moles side turret
oh ok good to know
advantage of more ships is it is more ore per run
rather than just filling up your 96 scu mole you are filling up the 48 of a prospector as well, or 96 of another mole as well
48 on prospector? isnt it 32?
you can yank the misc bags off and replace them with argo bags
12 scu each
you have to unlock your ports and physically replace them
i assume there isnt a way to do that without owning a mole?
and whenever you claim the ship they sometimes go away
yes you buy the bags for 20 or 25k each
or run gilly combat scenario #3 and take the bags off the mole it spawns
Some thing like that
they are sold at the cargo center, but it is better to just steal them somewhere
do i buy from refinery deck?
refinery decks and cargo centers both sell them
oh ok ill probaly get those now
also if i mine some quantanium, when the instability thing reaches 0 will my ship explode
yes
guys tip for all the Hull C uses i figured out the other day that all the 700k missions are broken so do the 698k mission instead it actually works properly. also the 698k missions tend to actually pay out all the way.
Is there a fix for internal error on delivery missions?
yes
Only put a single layer of cargo on the elevator
no stacking
yea i found they dont like to be stacked hahah
I remember when physical cargo was first introduced, we had this same exact bug. Couldn't stack cargo at all, else it wouldn't be recognized by terminals and stuff
Can you still get the copper hull c contract in pyro?
How long would it take to get max hauling rep
yeah it worked for me. Thank you for the heads up. going dx11 fixed my salvaging
Whats everyones go to trade routes, ideally with autoload
would reccomend against autoload, if you do 6 32 scu crates on a raft then manually loading and unloading is really fast
can buy like 18 or smth and do 3 runs real fast
anyway im a fan of construction materials between crul4 and hurl3
fast easy and high demand at the destination
A C2 would only make 423k profit... quick runs, but not much profit, a RAFT would make 116k
Do ya know of any other routes that are high risk high reward? I'm all good with using a C2 as long as their is stock and demand
i personally dont, so just gotta look it up on that trade tools site
my only reccomednation is to stick to 32 scu crates for ease of use
you can sort it by stations
so you can autoload
Easy as, thanks for the CMATS route though, opens up more ideas, I'll have a look
I do use those... I'm looking for the routes that people don't put on those sites... so theres little competition and high reward
idk if that site is something people input routes to
i think it just tracks commodoty prices and calculates it
Is there a fast way to get to the Hull-C cargo missions?
Afaik they start at Member, so you only have to grind through rookie + junior, by stacking small local deliveries with the same origin+destination. You need 5 rookie and 10 juniors to get to Member.
The data are public, and the site offers a calculator for a given ship, investment, etc. The travel times seem a bit off, though, so you might get better/worse results.
Oh sick thanks dude. Ill do these after this resource running stuff
Ah right, yeah I use the tools often... I know they added a couple new commodities to shops in game, they haven't been added to UEX yet, so was curious if people have found any yet
I'd recommend CRU L1 - MIC L1 loop. Buy a ton of XaPyen at MIC and Methane at CRU, and just ferry them back and forth, without wasting time going to galleria every time.
If you want adrenaline, you can go to Pyro IV. Chawla's beach (buy 10 SCU of Atlasium) -> 20 km from that is Sacren's Plot (buy 24 SCU of Partilium) -> Bueno Ravine at Bloom (sell both)
That's a high-risk, high reward route in the middle of nowhere, hoping all the pirates and murderhobos are still in Stanton... (invest ~5M, earn ~6.2M in a single trip)
So 1.2 Profit... Not bad at all, I'll give it a test
Ok, good luck and godspeed 𫡠Just a heads up - Sacren offers up to 30 Partilium, but Bueno only accepts 24. So if you buy 30, you'll have to stick around until the buffer clears up. And Bueno is usually quite busy...
Learned the hard way đ
I see... as long as I can send it down the lift, I should be all good... what ship do you normally do it in?
I did the runs in Asgard, but that's an overkill - Cutlass black seems best suited for that (and least conspicuous that it'd be carrying such cargo). Atlasium comes in 2 SCU boxes, Partilium in 4 SCU.
Oh damn... Just realized... those are CFP territory... I would be Shoot on Sight
Yeah, that's pure CFP route. If you're HH, you're stuck with ferrying drugs to Stanton
Love drugs... just not much profit anymore unfortunately
I miss the days of 30k Risky Salvage Missions...
I think the current best drug strategy is to have a staging station, where you collect and store several different types of drugs, brought by smaller ship, and then do a large haul of it all to some scrapyard in Stanton (personally Devlin, that's the most desolate one)
Maybe not the best profit-per-hour, but definitely a lot of fun.
How can I tell if the impossible rock can be cracked before using active modules?

Welcome to Mining 101, the first episode of my Definitive Star Citizen mining tutorial series for Alpha 4.0 and beyond!
In this video, Iâll walk you through a high-level overview of the mining gameplay loop in Star Citizenâfrom surveying and fractu...
Rough formula for max rock mass that can be cracked, is 5x laser power x (1-resistance). i.e. 0.8 with 20% resistance etc
Ah I'm looking at profit per hour... I love running drugs myself... but I run Transport events for my org, and profit attracts people
Def gonna see an uptick in RMC and salvaging when they introduce repair mechanics and ships for them
Well, if you have multiple ppl, then the drug run makes more sense, because you can parallelize. To sell all at once, you anyway need different types of drugs, so you need to get ~150 Neon and ~150 Etam (main money makers, from Last Landings and Ashland), plus Widow and Altru (from Rat's nest, for some extra cash), optionally Weevil eggs from Fallow Field. Stack it all to C2 and unload all at one scrapyard, sell at once.
Hmmm... more fun that function still... I'm trying to get as close to the RMC days as possible, more people means more split... so what may be 5M profit in a night, 10 people split would be 500k each, and thats a low number of people
Some time ago I did a rundown of possible Pyro - Stanton routes, the numbers might be a bit off today. The profit-per-SCU isn't that great, but most should be bulky enough to justify C2 with ATLS-equipped crew.
Rat's nest - XaPyen - CRU L1 (1935 to 2842)
Rods Fuel N supplies - XaPyen - CRU L1 (1960 to 2842)
Rods Fuel N supplies - Haeph - CRU L4 (1750 to 2588)
Starlight - Cobalt - Shubin SCD-1 (7677 to 9250)
Starlight - Stims - ARC L1 (1983 to 2964)
Gaslight - Meds - HUR L1 (2098 to 2875)
Gaslight - Methane - ARC L1 (1615 to 2415)
Patch City - Omnapoxy - ARC L1 (1871 to 2656)
Hey yall, is there a good way to determine the max size rock a certain loadout can break?
Found a 121k mass rock which i ignored yesterday
(It wasnt anything to amazing. Just some gold, and was mostly Tungsten)
Here's my loadout atm. Its mostly meant to break bigger rocks.
The point of your Hofstede is to break smaller rocks the Helix is too powerful for. You don't need power modules on it.
Prefer something like FLTR-XL to lower inert materials, or full greenzone with 2x Focus III.
I normally operate this mole with at least 1 other member
Afaik, it's something like your laser power *5 is the mass of the largest rock you can break with 0 resistance. I don't think it's entirely accurate, but it's close enough.
Gotcha. That is pretty useful to know.
You'd still be better with changing the Hofstede modules IMO.
If a rock really requires two head to be mined, you can do that with the two Helix
About that. Realistically that'll be much smaller cause almost no rock you find that big will have this little resistance
Resistance normally depends on the ores, and most people have been after event ores this patch, which have low resistance
Ik, but I have a lot of resistance cutting stuff. 0% resistance is unrealistic. But I can get it pretty low.
I can get to -83% resistance with the loadout and a sabir
So the most resistance I need to worry about is 17%
You don't, because that's with the three heads and you're only a duo.
Also your 85k pop is wrong too, because Regolith uses additive percentages for power calculation instead of multiplicative
One Rieger-C3 is +25% power.
Two Rieger-C3 is +56%, not 50%.
Three, +95%, not 75.
This is what I run as a solo.
Hofstede was supposed to be a low power head for when the others two are too powerful, but I honestly haven't found a use for it yet. The Impact is always low power enough. Which I'm grateful for, only need to switch between two mining stations.
You could run the same thing as a duo, replacing the useless Hofstede for an other powerful Helix and still having the great extraction laser Impact
I made that a while back based on the 5x laser power rule, plus all of the module and gadget effects
Does the extraction laser power actually do something now? Like let you extract rocks bigger than 10scu? Or is it purely extraction speed? Or is it nothing except a longer range laser with three module slots for you?
Just extraction speed
Impact is low power and extraction head, to lower inert materials.
I'm honestly thinking about going the other way as I prefer to use the Golem alongside my Idris to carry extra bags.
I might start carrying a prospector in the hanger as well just set up to just bust bigger rocks.
Leave all the scooping to the Golem
Anyone have hauling routes for 4.2.1?
Thank you for the info, and did not know Regolith is slightly wrong. Also, no I had 3 people last night. The last 2 times I multicrewed a mole I had 3 including myself for all laser heads.
But knowing the riegers are actually compounded is nice.
Also, what would happen if my refinery order wont fit in my C2?
You deliver it to local inventory instead and manually load what can fit
Oh god... its gonna spit out 4SCU boxes...
Please tell me they changed thatđ
I dont wanna load 160 or so 4SCU boxesđ
Is there a way to make it put it in 32SCU boxes instead of 4?
ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
I was once told it would make boxes for the largest (or smallest, don't remember) ship you had stored at the locaiton.
So what your saying is I have to strategically remove all other ships than the C2.
As in destroy themđ
I can see myself self destruction every ship in the hangar
The refinery should make the largest boxes that it can. So if you have 45scu you should get 1x 32scu, 1x 8scu, 1x 4scu, and 1x 1scu.
I think the reason it doesn't do that is because not everyone can transport a 32 scu box easily
does it not do that anymore? I thought it used to, if you loaded directly into a big ship. I haven't mined since the change where you can deliver to the freight elevator. But I'm pretty sure I remember having 32scu boxes loaded into my C2
after opening 4 holes, and the game eating 1 pure carinite+6 favors because fuck me I guess, I finally have a fortune
not even sure I want this ship yet, I just wanted to try it out
anyone around to assist a returning player with so mining?
She's a one trick pony.
I'm definitely liking the fortune, doesn't feel much slower than the vulture, and not having to move the boxes twice is really nice
its also easier to use in a group setting, an orgmate and I did some salvage together, and it was very easy for him to offload the fortune
congrats! how many rocks did the node contain?
only 2
i see, thank you. Been trying to get these, did hathor yesterday myself but no luck. Btw did you open 4 holes in one sessions? If so can you share some tips?
Been trying to get some, but no luck, can't even get a price when trying to buy them. Kinda dig the golden ticket chase.
it was over 2 sessions. First session, we mined 1 hole that was already open and partially mined, and then opened another. Second session, we did open 2 back to back
Biggest thing is to do it on a low pop server, especially if you're solo/duo. Means you dont have to worry about other players as much
We were also mostly avoiding the loot at the PAF's and such, and just going for the keycards needed to get the compboards
we also mostly skipped over the salydinium and jaclium, and just went for caranite. Thats before we knew pure carinite was its own type of node, so we could've just skipped over everything that wasnt pure if we wanted to go faster
Yea same, i mined every carinite node, thanks for sharing the screenshot, i had no idea
I only had to align one dish yesterday and it still took pretty long. Thanks for the tipps!
yeah of course, good luck finding some yourself :)
Why the refinery gave me 14 x 4scu boxes?
Because they seem to only give 4 SCU boxes when you send to local inv
How did it turn out ?
Is it save to move it in to ship directly?
If you don't ever let the game auto store your ship.
Thats not always an option F me
Hey all, is the hull c station mission more profitable that c2 runs?
Hull C mission is 100% profit when it works
there's no buy in and no risk you will lose your investment
Is it working in 4.2.1?
We must consult the magic 8 Ball to determine this
It's random
You do lose your precious time from bugs. I mean emergent gameplay.
That orders still cooking. Hopefully it turns out well.
Tonight I have a few other small orders I need to collect on still...
I may give it a try on a small one tonight
Lmk
anyone managed to do the C2 and Golem combo ?
My C2 keep going back to last stations...
