Mining is really starting to get on my nerves. I fly to a planet. The planet spawns rock clusters for about the first 10 minutes and then nothing ever spawns again. or if it does it takes minutes of flying before anything shows up. am I doing something wrong?
I usually bring 5 bags with me, I mine in stanton regularly - all feyn. Also, I think if you look back I told you to stick to hauling, lol. Mining is a bit of a time sync but gets better with experience as you learn to collect faster by swapping to collect as soon as the rock breaks and collect the majority as it explodes - but again it takes time!
depends on where you are - also I think the server could be at fault and not streaming them in before you fly past them - how fast are you travelling?
I try to stay like under 200 - but if I do fly faster I often turn back and have a look, if you decouple you can keep your forward momentum up while looking back.
yeah, after realizing how much time gem mining is gonna take me, iβm just gonna go back to rookie contract stacking with the RAFT
It's the server. Find a better one or fly slower. Occasionally get out of your seat and back in.
Is it generally safe to have the refinery load my ship with the refined material or should I just manually load it?
since 4.1.1 you can do both, its safe... as long as elevators are responding, otherwise swap servers
no problems with maxing it out either, filling to the brim.
holy hell, ATLS makes loading my RAFT with dozens of 1 scu boxes so easy
how long it takes to fill it up?
using RAFT's onboard tractor beam i take 15 mins to fully load/unload all those darn 1scu boxes
so i use to complete the missions in: 15+15+10 = 45mins
10 mins of trip including hangar queues, hate queues!
I can't get the ATLS to highlight my 32 and 24SCU boxes from my ship grid...is this a known bug?
Has anyone done the unverified hauling missions around the OLPs and PAFs? Thinking of being them in my nomad
maybe 3 to 4 minutes
try moving first any surrounding boxes
hahahaa, i dont think so
Yeah I've done it too. It works almost as fast as you can move your camera and click
3-4 minutes sounds right
4.2 is going to make the ATLS + RAFT combo even better, assuming they don't remove the ability to snap the ATLS to the RAFT's grid.
I don't think it's a bug. Since they are adding the ability to store it with the cargo elevator it has to snap to a grid
where can i sell location of gold surface rocks i cant mine myself?
that will vary from server to server, its quite sure that the next time you log in, the stuff wont be there, unless you had luck getting exactly the same server
but do try at #market-street
I think I asked this before, or was told. But is there a setting that makes it so using ship tractor beams doesn't make it feel so sluggish? Like, I move the mouse, and the tractor beam has to "catch up" to it like it was wading through molasses or something.
Press Q
or donβt use ship tractor beams and use the far superior ATLS
I don't like the ATLS tractor beam system, because the boxes couldn't have their height changed, so it often bumped into ship ceilings/hulls like on the Spirit or ES
Since I can't see the cargo grids from down on the ground, so I have to walk up the ramp
The Atlas is a solution to a problem CIG themselves created.
Is there a tool where you can plugin in rock stats like mass and itll tell you what lasers/gadgets to use to break?
try this: https://gallog.co/mining/tool
not sure how up to date it is..
Does Roc Mining not drop crystals currently? or do they just ALL bug out for me tonite?
regolith is great
That's uhhh..... well, kinda the point to all of this, no?
So attempting to mothership mining doesnt work. Logging off in mole bed, whilst parked next to corsair. Logging back in and the corsair disappears. Is there any proper way to do it? Did i miss a move?
Your Corsair is still out there. On a different shard.
Your ship disappears with you when you bed log and you don't necessarily come back to the same shard.
You need an actual mothership.
To land your mining ship in and log out.
That leaves you two options, either Prospector mining in a Polaris or 890J, or Golem mining in a whole bunch of stuff.
cargo grids still fucked after 3 weeks?
no its fixed
Maybe server jank. I had a perfect session on Ignis tonight.
Turns out from the feedback I got ont he reddit it seems to be a problem with the Galactanite or sth minable, we mined other rocks after and they worked fine, albeit one of our Rocs disappeared
Ok great, I generally stick with the Fenylmaline.
I am at a trading post trying to buy commodities but it doesnt do anything when I click it
any idea whats going on? my ship is on the pad
"on the pad"... your ship needs to be stored down in the hangar
then you select the ship as destination for anything u buy
can also select the local inventory as destination and then manually move the cargo
you just want the fyn anyways, lol
hmm think ill wait for the orison demand to go down
Just bought my first C2, man what an amazing ship
Damm that's a nice rock.
Currently contemplating getting either the vulture or a prosepector. Both would be in game purchases, but which would be better for making money with at first? I'm thinking of using together with my C2 being purposed as a mobile base.
Vulture
You can go around the mining bases where the new missons are at and salvage the wrecks
You mean in Pyro?
Or a bit less ( more RNG dependant and upgrading the parts) the prospector
Stanton.
The mining outposts around the systems where you do the training mission for combat/ patrol
Found at least 4 player ships soft death that I scraped and got some components out of it.
Ah, I get what you mean now. Thanks for the insight π Will probably go and buy the vulture now.
Noice, I need to get in on some of that
It just depends on what you find fun. I like both, and rotate between both loops.
Can someone tell me if red wind hauling pays out with experienced+ rep? I'm at member now
It does, but will get to a point you get carpel tunnel of loading your ship
π π
That's my reason for stopping at experienced
Gotcha. I'm sitting on 3.6 mill right now so I think it will definitley be the vulture, especially if I can get ship components and sell them.
@sage spire hit me up if you want to do some runs. Have 2 guys later on today to do some combat missions on the polaris, but on the weekend I can pull the reclaimer out and can help you out getting the credits for your vulture
I really wish I could, but im working nights 6pm-6am from Wednesday through to Monday morning π’
No problem. Hit me up when you can, and worst case scenario, I will pull the reclaimer and you go on your own π
Oh so someone actually reached experienced! Do they also contain hull c missions? Or just... idk...delivery of 485 scu to eight different locations?
@rich berry please let me know when you've got time, we can also chat via dmπ
Sent you dm
Have you discovered a good way to make creds solo in a reclaimer?
Simple, or you go to zones where normally you get combat missons. At the moment the mining asteroid bases for example and just salvage the "paint" the easy acess parts, and then just break and much the ships.
The reclaimer has the capacity on grid for a lot, but if you stack it off grid. It's massive the ammount you can transport
Plus the buffer...
And Sabir gagdet. But mostly, not being solo.
So game crashed last night and I still have all the cargo I was moving in my cat so Im taking it to GrimHex rn to sell. Ive never done before, does it give me crimestat?
No, you're good
Very carefully
2x rieger c3
Triple surge
U can pop that with just one helix 2 and that??
Yes they do and some very nice paying ones as well.
A pen and paper and a lot of time
Awesome, thanks for the info. So the routes are going station to station?
yes
what website is this? wowzers that's handy!
That's uexcorp.space
ok thanks so much
you're welcome mate
can you give me an example for the mission payout?
Anywhere from 165k upto 698K
Last two times I've gone to pick up cargo in 'C' at Everus my ship has randomly blown up while in the magic cargo box.
How long is quant ore until it goes boom
25 min
from the moment you collect the first amount
Feeling betrayed .... looked up the specs that I could find and the Drake Vulture is 1.5m taller than the internal hold for the Drake Ironclad as its currently reported. This feels like a huge oversight
Lol
Ah sorry, I was talking about hauling for red wind in pyro all the time. I already did loads of hull c hauling in Stanton
What is the go to planet for mining? I was at yela last night and me and my buddy filled up 8 Drake pods and only made around 100-115k in unrefined ore. Not sure if Iβm doing something wrong or mining the wrong type of rocks
Nothing particularly wrong with Yela.
I prefer Calliope. Cellin is another popular option.
The biggest thing is being picky about the rocks you extract and then also refining your ore for the best profit. Focus on S-Tier (Quantanium in Stanton, Quantanium, Riccite, and Stileron in Pyro) and A-Tier (Taranite, Bexalite, and Gold). I will generally skip a deposit if none of those are present or if the %s are low.
Use Regolith.rocks. they have a lot of data about ore prices, refinery yields, and player reported %s for ore/rock compositions per planet/moon.
Can't give you a straight answer because idk, but this site has the best data: https://regolith.rocks/survey/ores
Make sure to check the advanced data before choosing a place to go, some places only have like 15 data points that their supposed ore rates are based off of
also yeah refine
B tier ores are filler and can still net some extra aUEC, but if a rock only has B Tier, skip it. Never refine C tier ores.
I really want the crafting system and mining overhaul in place. Give us a reason to care about base materials.
By mining overhaul do you mean replacing ore %s with quality? I honestly don't know about that
Quality and regional spawns (certain ores will spawn only in specific biomes)
Brings me back to the Starwars Galaxies days
If they're entirely removing the ore %s thing I think that's kind of a loss for realism, makes everything feel more gamey
Never liked quality systems in games imo
I imagine deposits will still be mixed
And that refining methods will impact quality
well... in RL i've seen solo miners licking rocks to know what they are made of...
what would a Qauantaium rock would taste?
Chicken i bet
Mcdonald's sprite
One taste of quant and suddenly you can see around corners
or..... get aracnic super powers !!!
Btw when is quant stabilized? I know the traditional method is get it into a refinery but can you just store it in your inventory now?
yes
As long as it is stored, it's safe
But the timer starts ticking again if you pull it back out of storage. (only unrefined quant)
Hot damn, alright. Guess I'll start picking up more of the stuff, I thought every piece meant I needed to go all the way to the refinery then and there
If you don't want to wait an extreme amount of time for refining (especially with 4.2 coming "soon"), you can store all your pods on a cargo ship. Then pull one or 2 at a time onto the cargo elevator, restore the ship, go to refinery and refine.
Took my 140 hour refinery job into several 20 hours jobs
And since refining always rounds up to the next SCU right now, I feel like it can grant you some extra value. Have to take some time and math it out in Excel to really see if that's the case based on refinery yields, but anecdotally seems to be true.
Oh damn...patch watch just dropped this morning. Small jobs might not even make it π¬
4.2 making refining times shorter!
"We're so sorry to hear you're having difficulties loading your Vulture onto the Ironclad. Have you seen our latest advancements in ship carriers, the Kraken?"
Only PTU right now, but generally moves pretty fast to Live when "Patch Watch" is posted
If not this week, probably early next week.
There's not gonna be a wipe for this patch right?
Shouldn't be
Refinery Jobs, Consumables, Ammo, and Commodities will still be wiped as per usual. Everything else should stay
Confirmed the atls snapping to grid is intended. Hull-a will be a money printing machine now
By a LOT too
Thats wonderful
wait, where did they say that, patch notes or just from playing on ptu?
Ptu notes
Refining speeds and ATLS cargo grid snapping are in the Patch Watch. No mention in the patch notes themself though, so stealth changes.
Shit. I've got a job with 18 hours left
Does the hur-l3 station have a cargo deck for auto-loading/unloading with the hull-c? if not, is there another good station to replace it with for the best profits?
how much time is a lot?
quick question, with 4.2 being in "Patch Watch" should I be stopping and collecting any active refinery orders? They get wiped on patches right?
Are the commodities safe in storage too? or do they need to be liquidated?
Cargo needs to be sold
Thanks for the help!
will they delete again all modules and weapons from our ships?
Ships are always brought back to default state, but any lost component isn't intended
un-equiping the components will work?
guess not.
Usually any components/weapons that were properly installed through the menu will appear in your home inventory so you can reinstall
Anyone know by how much the refining orders have been sped up?
4.1.1 wiped all my weapons and components from all my ships, didnt that happened to you?
and not a single component went to any inventory
they had not yet, wait for the patch! its on 4.2
Yeah i lost about 90% of my components last few patches too. CIG will say it's fixed and they'll persist going forward and then they won't, repeat ad nauseum
Ah, thought it would be getting tested by people on ptu already, hence my question
PTU patch for that just poped, go ahead and test it
Ah, I don't have access to PTU haha
Did you never spend a single dollar on the game ? That's all you need to have access to the PTU atm, it's open to all backers
I thought only refinery jobs are reset, or is the cargo in inventory situation similar to the issue with ship parts, aUEC bought ships etc being lost bascially randomly?
Cargo is always lost too.
It's not saved in the LTP.
Components and ships being lost isn't intended
Life Time Percutor ??? π€
!LTP
What will I keep?
For any looted items, including those looted from corpses and loot crates, place them into a location-based inventory at a station or landing zone.
For any in-game purchased ships and vehicles that get into a destroyed state after use, get the ship back to a working state, retrieve it from the repair/claim, and then store it again.
Any items gained through pledges should be fine, however it doesn't hurt to ensure they are safely stored before hand.
What will I lose?
Ships rented with aUEC.
Stackable, consumable items such as food, ammo, etc.
Refinery jobs in progress.
Cargo boxes in storage or on ships.
thank you!
so I should make sure all the ships I own are claimed and stored
and store my multitool and rifle, because those are looted as well
Wait* I thought stored cargo is lost to
So commodities / cargo
Don't we need to sell all commodities for the update as well?
I-I sent my refined ores to my destroyed ship and I want to cry
It was my first payout π©
Ouch... it let you do that?
Apparently. I think it was bugged or something
Iβm sure it doesnβt usually let you do that right? LOL
Ima have to double check everytime now
FPS gear is usually totally fine.
Almost never lost
Maybe you misread something
It is.
Yeah I misread it. All commodities are deleted as well.
Yeah I misread it. All commodities are deleted as well.
It says stored stuff.
Hey yall, I have a friend i would like to buy CMATS off of, is there anyway to get the CMATS from him legally?
As in I buy them off him.
How does he sell them to me?π
Or is there no way to buy the mats off him legally?
You send him money, he brings them up the freight elevator, you send them down the freight elevator
Does that make the goods stolen? Or how do they become stolen?
I dont think they would be considered stolen, not certain though.
there is no legal or illegal way, there is only a way
What's best for mining in the arron halo. Mining lazer power or resistance shredding?
make a party
invite him to your hangar
drop the stuff on the elevator
send him credits
thats it
If the goods are classified as stolen they are illegal. and I would be forced to sell at no questions asked locations.
But got it. The goods will not be stolen this way
Also, is there a way to turn cargo grids off?
ie make the gaame ignore them?
using the right mouse button when traktoring them
so which is best (for a prospector) mining lazer power or reducing the reistance of the rocks.
What is the best way to make 3.5 million AUEC with industrial gameplay?
what ships you got?
but I would say cargo hauling
terra gate way sells medical supplies and hephestanite and you can easily sell them around. though hephestanite isn't the best profit wise
How much is Medical per SCU?
one sec
2,261 from terra gateway and the best spot to sell it is Hur-l1 which buys at 2,875.
roughly 500 profit. but it's not the best best.
Does Hur-l1 have anything good to sell going back to terra?
it sells scrap at 1,384 which you can sell to magnus gateway for 1,773
What's the best legalized cargo to haul?
hauling missions are honestly just the best way to go about making money
I think you should just stack crago contracts dude.
I can make 470k a run from Seraphim to Dunlow
at no risk
yeah hauling has been neutered
copy
may I get some assistance now?
I would try but honestly I mine at Yela mostly.
I want to go to the Halo soon tho.
But I would say for solo you need as much power as you can get unless your crewing a mole.
resistance shredding is good to.
but Sabir mining gadget is for that so
Is repairing my miner supposed to "recharge" the uses on my active modules?
It should, yes
I just tested, it doesnt work. It says it's **full **uses but **actual **uses don't reflect that.
You have to throw away all your active modules for full replacements to occur on repair
so whats the best way to make money ship mining?
what about medal, artifacts and stuff that simply says "placeholder" ?
I would say Mole, then Prospector and ROC in that order - also diff level is on par with that as well in terms of learning curves and modifications to get best results
i mean more so like where to mine and stuff it just going to astroid belts and stuff?
whats a good commodity to haul from pyro to stanton
Spot on. It just depends how much you want to pledge or spend credits. But a mole with the right kit can pay for itself in 1 week ( with 4 to 5h a day mining) if you buy it with auec
Those should all be safe
!LTP

Ships rented with aUEC.
Stackable, consumable items such as food, ammo, etc.
Refinery jobs in progress.
Cargo boxes in storage or on ships.
I rented a Taurus to run some larger contracts to finish Member rank.
This happened during the 2nd run
the repair cost is 230K so im just... not
how did you manage to do that lol?
Overstressed flight blades for sure π
Is Aron halo worth going for quantanium?
Or whatβs the best place to mine it?
Iβve got a fully kitted mole and. I usually mine at cellin
Managed to find a reclaimer solo waiting to be salvaged. Being as im by myself, do I salvage then fracture, or just fracture and disintergrate it.
Don't know about anyone else. Having more luck on planets/moons finding it than in the halo.
It depends, what u running and how much you want out of it.
If you want max profit , salvage all the "paint" and the break it. ( will need another reclaimer to do it)
I'm thinking of just fracturing it. The reclaimer is stock so I'm thinking this is my best bet.
Hello anyone know what commodities have been added in 4.2?
What's the best way to counteract this?
Cause as far as i know im just gonna loose all that material right?
You always lose some even with the reclaimer
Yeah
Empty as much as you can
Your buffer ofc, but you will always lose some
gotcha. Can't complain i suppose. I'm solo with no other reclaimers helping me out XD
Even with others. Just get what you can. It's still a really chill and decently profitable loop
Also, why has it got a -% by the two hull pieces?
You tried actually activating a module ? Many things show 0 until you try to use them and then they update to actual amount.
Has anyone figured out the fill order of ore pods on the mole? Based on just a few tests it feels like the left 4 pods are filled first, then the right ones.
OK, so to buy goods off other players legally you need to have the seller send the goods up on the freight elevator, and then you sent them down.
But you MUST send them back down. Or they will be considered as stolen.
.
I may have purchased 30 16SCU boxes of CMATS from a friend to help get rid of em
Yeah you get what you can. I think of it in uec/hr instead of scu/wreck when it comes to the Reclaimer since it's such an unwieldy ship
is there a way to put refined ores in bigger boxes? when i refine like 30SCU they all come in 4SCU boxes, not 24 SCU and 6
Heard it depends on the ships you have stored at the location when collecting the order.
Haven't been able to test this myself yet.
True
you mean when autoloading or putting it to station? i collect the order into the station while i have a phoenix, taurus and mole stored
Both
Is Salvaging just not good right now? I spent like 3 hours last night buying salvage licenses and flying back and forth across Stanton. Then looked up the best place to sell the salvage. Total revenue was about 100k, then subtract out the licenses and quantum fuel. I could make 100k in about 30 minutes of hauling low end missions
why you getting the mission besides farming the rep?
just go to the mining asteroid bases around the planets
and salvage the ships that players are killing on the bounty / merch missions
easy and simple π
most salvage missions are not really cost efective until you reach the 50k ones, and then you will need a reclaimer to make it worth btw
at least for the ships that need reclaimer to break them up
I just returned to the game. Last played when vulture/salvaging was first introduced π€·πΌββοΈ didn't know the better way to do it. Is it that common for players to be doing bounty missions at mining bases that I can just wait around for it to happen?
its common in this patch
they nerfed salvage as usual, after the hype of selling the ships
so at the moment by doing what i said, you can salvage a lot and sometimes find good components for selling to other players
in 40 min +/- including parking the vulture on the Polaris and comming out and unloading it to the polaris cargo space, i had around 37 scu of the recicled and 20 odd of the cosntrucion
keep in mind, i was just chilling, not even rushing or min maxing
Hmm... I'll have to give that a try that out and see if I get decent profit or if I should melt my vulture for something better π
vulture is good for farming
especially when you start from scratch
or you can try mining. as it seams next patch refining stuff will be much quicker
Vulture isn't bad at all, you can get about 380k worth of RMC in 30 minutes or less with an unverified hammerhead.
the problem is that you are taking those missions, instead, you should go to an asteroid belt, like Yela or any of the Lagrange points, and hunt for Panels, they are common and easy to find, in about 40 mins i can fill-up my Vulture with 39 scus and that is worth around $400k+
You should NOT pay to do salvage, they should PAY you.
true, it eats on the profit margin π
save up for a reclaimer and then spend the entire week salvaging to fill it up buffer and cargo space π
thats just on grid cargo space, if you use the rest of the space.... it gets crazzyyyy
You mean spend 10 minutes salvaging and 4 hours moving boxes? π
a bit, but at the same time, just not having to go to the station to unload every 30 min, and not moving 39 boxes and only 2 boxes for the same SCU basicly
it balances it out in the end
Depends on what you want. Jump further without refuel, or go slightly faster.
Thank you! What do you mean by "hunt for panels"? Sorry, super noob
question about hauling missions, do you need to work your way up to the high paying once? all i can find is a 50k one
Erebos is faster for sub 65GM trips, so, Erebos π€·
Yes
Lower max speed but better acceleration
Compared to Agni I mean. Nothing beats the TS-2
oh thank god xD i thought i waws stuck with 9 scu in my taurus xD
No. Need to claim the Reclaimer at ARC L1 or move the drive to somewhere you can spawn the reclaimer
how does it work? it says pick up cargo but the wp is "inside" the station
These contracts require you to collect cargo from and deliver to stations, outposts and other facilities.
To collect you must land on an outpost pad and/or in a hangar and retrieve the cargo from the freight elevator, and then deliver to the destination cargo elevator.
You have to pick it up from your hangar's freight elevator in that same station
Arh Right thank you

Doing some group salvaging on an EU server if any others want to join, send me a DM
I did post in the looking for session channel but it seems that everyone uses that for combat orientated stuff so sorry if not allowed
how do i see my rank in cargo runs? it still says rookie despite i did like 10 missions at once
Go to the rep tab of mobiglas and select whatever company you've been doing work for
cargo is a hell to climb rank, but you don't really need it, stack the right amount of rookie ans you'll do more thn with higher rep unless you have a really big ship ( i'd say >500scu cargo grid)
i'ts used for everything, but not many ppl like to do anything that doesn't involve unaliving something
also, how does your group thing work? i could be interested^^
Yeah, used it for mining and salvaging and Ive rarely had responses ^^
1 guy in caterpiller, everyone else in vultures
you can say killing ya know
go do some ERTs, and then munch away
i could have, but i didn't^^
and then we usually have 1 person in a reclaimer to collect the construction material
if you're still running i'd be up in a few min^^
Sure, we are on our own server if that's okay
i don't really care^^
also hows the pay split?
the caterpiller flier will sell in pyro otherwise if someone logs off its counted as stolen and get little value - pyro doesnt have limitations
then next time you're online you'll get your share
I usually pass on getting paid, means others get bigger fill
Is there something I have to do to be able to pull components from ships Im salvaging? Or are some just not able to be pulled. Was able to pull some from a corsair earlier, but now I cant on this Polaris.
Don't believe you can take components off of Capital ships.
if its your own ship, unlock the ports, otherwise... disable the ship
Ill make note if it for next time. It was not my ship, and another lesson I learned: Turn the ship completely off, not just the shields.
Got a little ways into scraping when the PDCs went live
Gotta hand it to my vulture though, shes a tough ol bird. Survived my prolonged panicked ineptitude and got me out of there.
ineeed she is..
I was hoping id finally have an opportunity to do some hand repairs with the cambrio, but its not showing any damage.
the gun i mean
ship shows a red arm and ass
believe there is a new mission for that, do repairs i mean, saw it the other day
Oh ive been doing those. I mean repair the damage to my ship with the cambrio. Came across someone flying around who mentioned he self repaired his ship.
its theoretically possible, i've never tried tho
my goal is to get the hull c at somepoint (again)
and do cargo they should pay pretty well and are somewhat fast
Does anyone have a theory or gossip about when the big patch 4.2 will drop?
it's possible?
Repairing seems to get the part HP up to maybe 70-80%
Does anyone have tips on how I can maximize money from ROC mining
Is salvage more profitable? Iβm been grinding in my vulture but Iβm sick of it
Been seeing some people say the C2 is annoying to load/unload. But not totally sure why, thought the big open cargo bay would make it easy compared to the cat. Any C2 haulers able to provide insight would be greatly appreciated!
The C2 isn't really a cargo ship is the thing. It's a vehicle courier. It has no tractor beam, super high ramps, and a really bad layout cargo-wise for anything other than very large boxes. Cargo isn't just about moving boxes, it's about efficiency. The Cat right now has a bad tractor beam placement and wonky doors, but it has 5 areas to separate cargo into, which is ideal for doing more than just running everything to one location. In the current iteration of cargo, the C2 is fine for it, but in the future, it won't be very desirable, and shouldn't be
Thinking of a moving truck. You want low ramps, easily separatable areas for goods of various types, lots of secure straps and anchors, and everything should fit both in well, and come out well. The C2 is like loading and unloading a mail airplane. It's fine if it's all packages you can put on a big pallet, but otherwise sucks at the task.
Roc mining will make less but if you're sick of salvage it doesn't hurt to switch or take a break
Rented the C2 during ILW. Hated it for running cargo missions. Much rather run with the RAFT for those. Had to park it farther away from elevators than other ships due to its size and had issues loading it with an ATLS (probably a me problem).
However it did excellent at mining operations with a Golem and/or ROC + extra ore bags.
Yeah, the RAFT is arguably one of the best cargo ships right now, but it's also the most recently updated. Second place I'd give the Taurus, and third probably the C1. Unfortunately, most cargo ships are either older designs suffering from a lack of updates, or modern designs designed by people who don't understand cargo (like the Zeus...)
Even the Hull C is wildly impractical... Not to mention the sheer number of bugs it has. Honestly, the whole Hull series is nonsensical for anything other than the most low value, worthless crap you just need to move lots of.
I dont know what you mean, the hull A is an excellent little hauler
Because the cargo is on the outside, the cargo is easy to rip off if you simply disable it. Hulls are like box trucks, just take the box
I'm calling friday midday...
bring 4 extra bags with you -and when the rock breaks swap to collect immediately, you can often suck up everything before it blasts gems all over the place - saves time! Also if you can carry a second ROC with you if by chance you ruin the first one!
And insist on fyn only
You could do the same thing with a raft though
What's a good industrial gameplay to get into? I have tried salvaging but it doesn't seem very profitable
hello
i came here with a question
i want to have a venting mod on my mining lser but idk how or where to geet them waht are the options where can i find information about it
If you are lucky, mining is the best profit. If you can handle mind numbing boring grind, stack hauling contracts. Salvage is not bad, can make 400k/hour reliably.
Check regolith.rocks
Can make loadouts and see where to buy the modules
Thanks
can at least aleviate the mind numbing length by using an ATLS, makes a 15-20 minute load time 5 minutes
Yea you can do that at the location where you put the boxes on/in the ship, but not where you arrive. For now at least, the patch will solve that problem.
Thanks man, apparently 4.2 makes dealing with refineries less tedious. I do have a Orion so I should give modern mining a go. Thanks
Hello, is there anyone here I can ask questions to about getting into mining?
Just ask
Alright,
I have currently been doing hauling for some time, it pays well, but it is unbelievably boring (and just glitchy beyond belief with Hull C+ sized ships with the autoload/unload).
I wanted to maybe get into Mining, I was wondering if the transition from 1M-1.4M an hour to mining would be worth it? Even if it is in the long run
If you sell quant to players, and if that remains viable in the near future then 1m an hour will look like pocket change.
If you just sell to npcs, not so much.
It's definitely more interesting though.
Check out elguapo on YouTube for mining stuff.
Is making money the most important thing to you? Mining won't feel like a huge money maker right away, but it is pretty satisfying and varied.
I agree, you will probably find anything you do repetitively to be boring - forget about the in game money unless your going to buy something specific - make your own missions. go find your own boxes to haul, they are out there for free.
I've had over 200 million at one point - the money wipe taught me to play a much different game and a more satisfying one. It isn't the destination, its the ride!
SC is also just a very different game to me, it is a closer representation to real life; anyone of us could strive to make the most money in real life but it would be via a job that we don't necessarily enjoy.
I started out the same way: Hauling = $$$$ with no combat skills required. But eventually, I found myself questioning my goals/gaming philosophy.
I agree. I take missions with my friends and ride along. It's very obviously less efficient but far more fun. Combat is a blast, but I think the most fun I've had is in mining. The Mole feels amazing with a crew!
I also loaded up 2 ROCs into a Taurus and went planet side where I'd drop them off and pick them up to escort them to a new node I'd find. We learned we needed special suits to mine.
It was a lot of fun.
Hi, can someone tell me how do you unlock the 700k contract in hauling at Pyro when i have them in Stanton?
I saw on Youtube some people doing it like a week ago
Pyro contract are with redwind line haul but levelling up is a pain because 90% of the missions are bugged (pick up from multiple locations that won'tcomplete) and the rep seems to be very small per job
where did you find that monster?
Quant mining is the highest profit if you're willing to sell to players trying to "craft" a polaris
this is true iβve made 18 mil mining the past 3 days
should i grind member rank rep with the hull c? i see a couple interplanetary missions and im dead on spending a long time loading up
im thinking of either getting a hull-c or switching up to a mole (i currently mine with a prospector)
If you've made 18mil with a prospector mining quant
imagine how much you could do with a mole
I've mined in both for a long time and I gotta say Mole is way better than prospector, you get used to moving from pilot to turret, but you'll never get used to not being able to break a rock cause your prospector's too small
(There are still rocks that a solo mole can't break)
Random q about finding quant
I literally have not seen a rock with quant since 3.2. Where are people looking that they are finding so much?
I was out mining for almost 4h yesterday and while I found basically everything else, (good profit regardless) I did not find any quantanium.
same
I go to the Aaron halo between arc and hur because the likelihood of seeing another player is very very very slim. Quant pickings arenβt terrific but theyβre there
Currently mining hadanite on aberdeen but when it's done mining it doesn't spawn any gems, i have to hand pick them all from the rock "root" or what's left of the base from the rock.
on YT, look for 'ElGuapoe', he's a dedicate Miner with great guides, including ofc, where and how do Quantanium
i'm just mining cellin and i'm finding plenty, although there are droughts, just a high variance endeavor
Looking for a vibe check, mining quant today/tomorrow still worth it with the patch coming soonish?
Specific Rock types with specific Common minerals
I need some advice.
Right now, I own a Constellation Taurus for cargo runs and such. I really want to upgrade it so I can do more cargo missions β it takes freaking forever to grind cargo when I'm only doing 2β3 junior missions per trip.
Iβve got around 4 million aUEC, and unfortunately, the Starlifter C2 and the MISC Freelancer MAX are currently pulled from the ship upgrade store (I was planning to upgrade the Taurus to the MAX).
So now Iβm stuck with having to buy a new ship in-game, but Iβm not sure what to go for β I want something good for cargo, but not on the high end of the price range.
ill give y'all my mining location: Ignis, Pyro V look for Shale Aluminum and Granite Aluminum
meaning look for shale & granite rocks that have aluminum (on ignis only)
oficially, they only said they changed the Refineries, who knows what else they cahgned behind screens, we'll see
elguapoe on YT has good quant video
so, you want something with more cargo or something easier to load?
ya know, we currently have the Asgard on sale...
in paper... its 180 scu
but in reality... 300+
more cargo but something easier will also help (i love the taurus design wize just not whwen i have to load it)
It just have very little extra cargo than my taurus (I belive its around 169 my taurus has)
I had an absolute blast testing out the new Anvil Asgard and I know anyone who runs this ship is going to LOVE it!

the RAFT then may be for you, they made changes to its grid and its really, REALLY good
save up the AUEC
and cheap, about 3m
get a raft and then move up to a C2
isnt that like 96 scu storage cap?
yeah i know its not a long way up to the starlancer max (its like 8,8mill in game) it just seems far (at leasti m half way)
I use the starlancer max
oh really?! thats cool i always loved the design of the raft
its a comfy cargo ship
thats the one i wanted to upgrade to (but then they pulled it from the upgrade ship store)
its 3.5m
yeah i like it
thats actually cheap when you think about it it its treally 192 scu (it seems they didnt update the main page)
Erkul knows better π
Yeah xD Trust the fan base to keep the information up to date :p
they always keep it updated
and on 4.2 you can stick the Atlas upside down on the RAFT's grid, its quite funny xD
oh yeah i saw that on a video that is just cool
and it takes less time to load it than the taurus
10-15 mins, depending on the boxes
bigger boxes lesser time
i will never understand the way they handle what ships we can buy and what we cant, they want our money but we cant buy all ships (or upgrade them)
i better go and scrape while i think things over (i getting really tired of scraping xD takes forever to do but the money is good (vulture)
When I bought 32 SCU containers at a L station, is there a way to summon them in medium hangar? The freight elevator keeps saying that I have to discard the cargo, but I don't have any bigger ship to get L/XL hangar.
no, that's something for CIG to fix
maybe at a Mining post?
ahh they are on your local inv.... NVM
can the raft be rented? (if i wanted to test it a few days?)
!itemfinder β¬οΈ
Use the website to search for any item (and where to obtain them) in-game.
Thank you
is renting ships the same place as buying them in Loreville?
nope, rent console is near the hangar elevators
ill try and locate it thanks
I must admit its a very sexy looking aircraft its like with the catapillar it SCREAMS industrial and the color is sexy
i rented it for 3 days that should give me enough time to decide if i like it or not
Send the elevator down, then put the cargo containers on the left.
I tried precisely that, and this is the response from the freight elevator:
You put too many on at once then. You need to put fewer containers on at one time, which may mean splitting the stack.
That's with single one
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
its a known... idk if is intended, big boxes can go down but refuse to go up, i tried pulling out a single S5 attrition and it said NOPE
A single 32 SCU container wouldn't overload an elevator, but what looks like a single one might actually be a stack of them
Must be some weird bug I've never encountered
Nope, it's a single one. I've bought a stack of 6. Tried it, got the error. Split off 1, tried it with that one, still got the error. Rinse and repeat, still the same
I rented my first RAFT last night and I didn't even get it off the ground before I went to the pledge store to upgrade only to find out it's not currently available for pledge π why does CIG hate my money
Easily my new favorite hauler
ooohhh yes it isnt on sale, so sad
it Is awesome though, imho of all ships I own, this is the only one that so far I have had ZERO bugs with. it just works. It does the job, it is made well for what it is supposed to do. I LOVE the raft.
Hey yall, so I am trying to pick up a couple refinery orders and it has a message saying processing your request on screen which never goes away.
It won't let me stop and collect my order and collect my other order...
did you tried on a different server?
Server hoping now.
server hopping is usually the trick
ill try the EU server
anyone near cellin mining wanna help break a big rock?
Can a single person control this ship or does it require two people like the ROC-DS?
Wouldnβt server hopping relocate you at a different spawn point?
no it stays at the same station, you'll just wake up at the habitat again
Ah ok, so when you land at a different station thats set as your new spawn point automatically? Sorry for the questions, Im new to the game so Im just curious & trying to learn.
No, but there is a difference between spawning after logging back into your server and spawning after dying! When you die, you spawn back at your home city you initially selected OR at the station where you manually set your spawn point through the regen terminals in the hospital. If you log out and back in (or server hop, same) you spawn back in at a habitat in the station or city you are currently at.
So thats where Im confused because for me I can only logout when Im in my ship & it has to be physically in space laying in bed (I have a cutter) so I cant logout any other way. Which is why I asked it because when I read that you said server hopping youll end up in the same station. So you have to pretty much reset the spawn point yourself manually at that station to server hop? Without just quitting & finding a new one.
No. π You are getting things a bit confused. You can also ! (also!) log out via bedlogging. However, you cannot server hop back in then, well you can ubt not in your ship. Because ships in space are physical objects actually sitting in that specific server. So if you bedlg out on AUS server, you can't bedlog back in on US server then. Your ship will be gone and you'll spawn at the last station where you were before.
which also goes for when you just log out outside of a space station through the escape menu, w/o bedlogging - you spawn back in at the last station or city you were in before
FUUUUUCKKKK
its Single pilot Cargo Hauler
all of the haulers can be solo ran
I am not sure I understand you. I logout (bedlog) in space or at perhaps a cave entrance and server hop all the time. I wake up in my ship where I bedlogged. I do this regularly. Now if you don't bed log, yeah you'll be sent back to your last location or your home location. If you lose internet, you can still sometimes get right back into the game right where you were - without bedlogging. I exited during a "server error" and when I reconnected I was literally in the exact same place and continued my QT jumps to my destination. SO I guess it can be a bit confusing, but for me I bed log in my ship and swap servers no problem.
You said everything the way I said it, except you are right about the ability to bedlog on server A and then join back in on server B. I was tired and distracted, not thinking straight - of course you can do that and the ship will spawn on server B with you in bed again. Other than that, all you said is the same I said. π About the errors: Yes, if you have an internet issue, server error or manually Alt+F4, you have about 5ish mins to come back and you'll spawn back in in the same spot / situation.
Any idea on how to fix a backpack that won't let me "move all" to a storage container? The core works but transferring things one by one I keep either pulling off armor from myself or it just wont go. I have resorted to putting the backpack in the storage crate and then dragging it up then re-equiping it...
Hello, small question, on hauling missions, when this is accepted, I have a timer on it, what happend if I deliver the mission after the timer ? I gain less money and reputation ? Or I just simply can't deliver the mission ? Or there is no effect ?
Hello, just got in the verse! Exciting to start my industrial career π Is this a good starter fleet for a young industrial entrepreneur?
Yep
Whats the insurance on that?
okay i did some deliveries in the raft(cant remember who recommended it to me yesterday)
Itsa great ship it just handles like a brick.
Also i feel like each pad should have a tracktor beam so you can just press a button and all the crates gets sent to the ground (easy unload)
on Hull-B and Vulture 120 months
Why should i care anyway?
I guess i'll make enough money to extened the insurance in game when time comes
Man i hope they fix the crate bug where you cant use the atls and onboard tracktor beam on crates you already placed on the pads(you have to use the handheld tracktorbeam)
is it safe to add cargo to the freight elevator that dosnt stick to the pad?
or will it disapear
It's risky
Do you suggest pyro or stanton to hunt quantanium?
Pyro IMHO. Better probability since clusters will have more rocks.
i wont do it then
and do you suggest a cluster or a planet?
regolith shows some clusters have 33% quant
..
In general, planetside for more and bigger rocks per cluster, and asteroid belts for the convenience of easier travel time.
Regolith info is player sourced. Still needs filling out, but I think it's assumed that quant has a roughly 5% global spawn rate with some location-based fluctuations.
I'll be honest I thought I wanted a reclaimerπ. Until I unloaded a friend's last nightπ
Any idea when CIG will make improvements to the reclaimer?
Like... I mean. The remote turrents dont work, and unloading the thing is a nightmare...
All in due time, many things are being worked on
Salvage deck to elevator, you can get 3x 16 scu boxes off the ship in 60s, round trip. 10 minutes for 480 scu.
Yeah, ik CIGs been cookin for sure.
Thats what I started using tho the actual owner believes the poop shoot is the best way
Which... the shoot is a great ideaπ but God dang they could have made it a bit bigger or even better made it fold out of the way
.
Also... do the remote turrents not work on the reclaimer? I am only aware of the pilot and "manned turrent" up top
In one of the videos the CIG dev said that the Reclaimer needs a major update
Ah- they admit itπ
This is good
They work, but only 2 at a time, and I think someone on the console disables the pilot slaved turrets
Huh- I couldn't even get those consoles on...
No power button and U doesn't kick em on...
Yeah the older ships are a mess
I can see thatπ . I will admit the nicest ship I have had so far was hands down the Zues mk2 cl
That thing was bueatiful. Except the cargo grid that sucked.
Yep. All the newest ships look and work great but the old ones are mostly touched up once in a while, but mostly left on the shelf
Makes sense CIG likes money afterall
And old ships dont sellπ
At least not near as well as new shiny ones.
Because they abandon them. People are regularly asking about and including older ships in their fleets.
Well that's because nothing can take their place.
Like the reclaimer. No other ship ig can do what a reclaimer does.
It has no competition for its role. Same as the Mole.
I think a large salvager would be peak.
We 100% do not need thatπ
Isn't that basically the MISC Fortune?
No, think golem vs prospector
I mean its not as good as the vulture and has the same roleπ
Yes but those ships have a game package attached, so it lowers the cost for entry into the gameloop
The raft wants a word with you.
Just bought my first ship the other day. Got a Raft.
wwhen you try to sell the cargo you got from using the reclaiming whats the fastest way to sell ?( last i tried i kept running into no demand and i spend a long time server jumping)
So I did a mining haul yesterday and filled up 6 Drake pods. Do I have to move all the pods in the elevator or can I keep it on my ship to refine/sell?
Just store the ship and go to the refinery. If you have Quantainium in it, storing the ship will stop the timer aswell.
Is it only good to refine quant or all the ore? Iβm kinda getting used to this but.
Have a friend or hire someone to collect your cargo in the field and sell it to all the different stations for you. Btw my going rate is 30%
No landing, no searching, just cash on pickup and I handle the tedium
question im trying to do this mission and im on the station but the cargo dosnt show up in my freight elevator? :S any way to making it show up in my freight elevator?
Iβm looking to get into mining or large scale cargo transport, I have no money, and very little skill, where should I start?
To get into mining it's as easy as renting a prospector!!
If you wanna make bank run small cargo missionsπ
Like the ones from Seraphim to Orison.
What ships and how much aUEC you got?
are you at Seraphin Station? if so mission may got bug, abandon and re-take it
I think the elevators are just buggy had issues last night to.
I recommend sending the elevator back down again, and sending it back up
I unloaded a bunch if stuff at Orison yesterday (mined goods) and about half disappeared for like 10 minutes.
And then I had another elevator which just completely vanished until I sent it down (and it magically appeared...)
The one beginner drake brick lookin thing and no money
The cutter?
Or the cutlass?
Cutter
4 scu I believe
Rent a cutlass Black and run cargoπ
C1 or Cutlass Black
Is it dependent on the ship owner or the person who buys and sells the cargo, cause my father has a cutlass I can borrow
Either or
So ship owner has to request hangers but anyone can haul other people's loads
So you can borrow his cutlass B you just need to be on at the same time.
You can even just do it on his account and transfer the $$
.I have tried mining and it really doesn't make that much
Or at least fast
Iβm pretty patient, what abt cargo hauling?
Cargo hauling us easy, safe and you can make around 400k/hrs stacking cargo hauling missions
Just its kinda dull
Welcome to box hell. Tho I'll admit the tractor beam makes it quite a bit faster.
(Mining you can probally make about the same but its way harder and more complicated. And you have to wait to make money)
Mining makes bank, but it's probably the most complex industrial discipline and so it doesn't give the goods right away. It takes time to master it. That, and there's quite a bit of RNG involved, but boy can that pay big. You've got dudes earning 1.5 mil an hour mining sometimes. It can average down hard, but it pays.
Cargo is nice and consistent but gets boring imo. Salvage is maybe in-between. Probably even less risky, but you're competing with people absolutely dumping RMC at shops.
Eventually cargo will get better as an industrial loop. They're going to add special cargo requirements. Think Hazmat stuff like radiation, explosive volatility, etc. it'll add more variety down the road, which will be nice.
Would it be easier to join a mining group and work around more experienced players while I learn?
Hell yeah it would. Getting help understanding how to leverage modules and components is a big deal. Understanding where to go and what to look for is their bread and butter.
Miners have all sorts of little tips and tricks for the trade. They'll help you avoid getting pirated, managing harder rocks, etc.
There's resources on YouTube and stuff, too. You don't strictly need to join an org. You can slide into mining at your own pace, but know up front that profitability is going to take a little time.
It's worth incorporating some hauling in-between, where you can listen to a video on mining while doing a hauling mission, which you can do while you wait for your stuff to refine. Make a bit of cash first so you can leverage the tools of the mining trade.
And don't let anyone tell you the Golem isn't worth your time. It's a great little ship that can get you in and out quickly. Just be careful not to torpedo yourself.
I agree with this. I actually am a miner to. I have a golem and a mole (with a prospector loner)
But if i wanna make bank I am running cargo with the C2
Yeah its way easier. Mining a pain to do alone.
Best crew a mole with 2-3 people.
Not sure what the fair crew wage for mole mining is
But if i had to guess its ~200k / hrs/person.
Crew mining is a lot of fun. I've really enjoyed running a mile or doing other variations on crew mining.
It's definitely a lot more consistent! It feels a bit like the hare and turtle race. It's sort of slow and steady. It also doesn't take a ton of brain power, so you can typically chill.
Mining feels a lot more involved. You're weighing a lot more variables and much more actively engaged.
I completely agree. I like mining.
I love running my mile with my friends
Mole*
And ironically still need the c2 for miningπ
Gotta move mats to make money
Just check every 15 minutes or so
What i did, is it went there sold my junk, and got dinner
The went back and sold more junk
And came back the next day and sold the rest of the junk
yeah i was iv actually had a lot of bugs on this station π¦ same i also get a lot of nav bugs going from orison to seraphin station
oh it resets after 15?
Not entierly. I think it goes down by a certain amount. Am not 100% sure tho.
Pretty sure demand partially resets every 15 minutes... which I'll be honest is kinda silly
yeah it is :S honestly they shouldnt have added demands yet when the servers are not ready for it
i guess you could fly around to 10 stations selling but meh
Nav bugs can be avoided by using F2 to set a course from Seraphim to Orison. For some reason you cant always go straight from Seraphim to Orison. I actually flied the entier way before to lol. Very dumb
i tried that it shows up then goes away then i click again it shows up and goes away. So i just jump somewhere i can target
Haven't had that bug for awhile lol
me neither i guess its my own fault for trying to grind cargo lool
Anyone know when the Golem will be available for in-game purchase?
I think the timeframe was normally 2 patch cycles, which should have put it in 4.2 alongside the ATLS GEO, but there is no mention in the patch notes. Maybe 4.2.1?
Nope
Damn, thats a long ways away still. I dont know⦠maybe I should just get the Prospector.
Prospector has better options for lasers.
I did have that bug when I picked it up origionally.
And can hold more by switching the bags to mole bags. It's a solid mining option.
Comes with an interior too so you can eat/drink and drop active mining modules for replacements without having to go 15m away from your ship like the golem
Really? What components should I get, if I do buy a prospector?
Honestly you'll generally just run a Helix 1. Same power as the golems pitman without the resistance/instability drawbacks
Knowledge is priceless! Here I was wanting a Golem for the aesthetics lol
The prospector is better than the Golem. 1: you can modify your prospector to use Mole bags. Which hold 12SCU ore instead of 8. (Total cargo of 48SCU over 32)
The biggest thing the golem has going for it IMO is that it's much more nimble
Also, how do I mine those rocks that are marked as IMPOSSIBLE. Is there a way?
Depends on the mass and resistance
As for the laser I recommend the Helix 1 (same power of the Golems but without resistance debuff) and for mods its up to you buy i would go a stamped and a reiger C3
Na, its just smaller.
If it's high resistance, putting a Sabir gadget on it might make it mineable. However, the mass is gonna be your biggest limiting factor
So you can shove a Golem into a C2
That is very interesting
Ah, ya. That's useful too. Did some runs with it in the Asgard during ILW
Oh it fits in an Asgaurd to? Dang
Yeah I think I can fit 2 golems in a C2 and some extra ore pods
Best bit about the golem
But your limited by the lasers increased resistance
Yup. It's a tight squeeze and I definitely blew up the first time because I went in too fast, but you can fit a Golem + 4 extra bags
Yeah atm the Golem is best when in a mining fleet simply because its a dinky thing. But the prospector outperforms it accross the board basically. And the Mole crushes the competition atm in terms of its capabilitys.
Got it. Iβm still pretty new to the game. Just got a Vulture, and am now saving up for a mining ship.
Thanks for the advice guys!
In the Vulture, when you create the RMC canisters for the multitool, it seems that the "Full" ones are empty when they're built? Has anyone experienced that? I made sure not to craft the (empty) ones but they still came out empty and required hand-salvaging to fill them up with RMC.
Might be a new bug worth reporting
i fail to understand when you say "..RMC canisters for the multitool.." you mean for hand salvaging?
Yes, for doing repair missions in my case
vs the ones for the full-size tool. I'm just spacing on the real names.
Cambrio and cambrio lite canisters, iirc
Yes, the Cambrio lite canisters, that's it. You have the option to create a "normal" or an "(empty)" one. Even though the regular one said 250/250, when it was attached, the tool interface showed 0%, and I was able to fill it from a crashed ship.
I made 3 just to be sure, and they all behaved the same. I'll try it again this weekend if I get some SC time. Thanks.
Probably worth an issue council report
Even split
should i save up for a reclaimer or a hull c?
which is more profitable?
If all you care about is profit, both are going to be disappointing. The Reclaimer is a pain in the ass without crew, and sometimes impossible without crew due to bugs. The Hull C has so many well known bugs you could start a colony with them.
LoudGunsβ hauling vid does seem to suggest that you can make a lot of money with the Hull C once you rep up.
even with the bugs you should still be able to profit well
Does anyone know is Pyro hauling contracts pay more in the long run?
You could argue based on risk or time or effort spent, but as long as everyone agrees anything will work. Equal split is easy math, no headache.
Reclaimer solo is quite chill. Worst case scenario you put some music on, and just go pannel hunting. Making some money being really chilled. Didn't have any bugs, the only low point is the unloading, they really need to rework that.
With salvage how would I be able to get components like a F7C ball turret?
- go to a PVP hotspot, like laser platform on Daymar, Contested Zones or any other place they fight.
- find a F7A abandoned or half destroyed
- use the tractor beam to detatch the weapons, or whatever, from the derelic ship
- put it on your ship's cargo and head back to station
this more a Recycling job than Salvaging, dont need the Vulture for that
Would that work for a pve thing also?
yes, anywere you can find abandoned ships
the other day i found a F7A just outside GrimHex
sometimes i find them parking on Bunkers
darn things are everywhere!
Cool. Just in case I get a hornet lol
not just for that, ships may also have Ardor repeaters or NDBs, you NEED them
You only need them to have a meta loadout for PvP...
meh, fack PVP
NN series cannons are going to be needed in the upcoming patch
those are really cool !
If you aren't doing PvP, attritions tend to be better suited to the task since they are easier and cheaper to repair as needed
Which also come in more sizes than 1, 2, and 3, like NBDs, Ardors, and NN's
Does the Misc Fortune have a crafting terminal like the Vulture does?
Hey yall, I am wondering is there any reason to have an Impact laser on the Mole?
I mean between the Hof and Helix II what does the impact offer?
Also what is the fastest charging quantum drives we can buy?
Hemera QD is what you'll want to buy for the fastest trips
There isn't any QD you can buy that accelerates as fast as it does
Perfect for short/mid trip to refinery
Huracan is decent, could keep it for a number of reasons on other ships, but for a mining ship, I'd say it's worth changing for the Hemera. It's precious time you can win when carrying Quant
Also Huracan has a lot longer cooldown time.
They all have the same spool up time.
As for the Impact mining head, I use it myself as a mid power extraction head. Point is it has 3 slots for FLTR-XL modules, and no point having an Helix for that.
I think I'll swap to this loadout for my crewed mole.
The FLTR-XL mods have additional filtering correct?
I'm not sure I would use this for a crewed MOLE, cause you're losing on a lot of potential for very large rocks.
Probably would rather have two Helix power dedicated.
More Helix?
Yes, so you can care less about inert materials and extract more of the good stuff.
Like aluminumπππ
Worthless matπ
Gotcha. Also when I break rocks should I basically always put a Opti-max on it to get better clusters?b
Or should I worry about that?
Opti-max is kinda pricy at like 20k a piece...
Is it worth it?
And guessing we will get it back 66% of the time about.
Yeah, it's a bit pricy to use it everytime.
But if you're good, never break rocks with red, it can be used 6-7 times before needing to change it, and for some rocks it's very helpful. But not worth using all the time
When should I be using it anyway?
Like about what rocks?
When the rock sems worth it π€· Quant/Tier1 ores, with a lot of bad stuff but enough good to make it worth it
Got it. So when the good stuff is rare.
Mostly, when the good stuff is coming with a lot of bad stuff
Last question I got, so when I claimed my refinery orders I put it into the station storage instead of a ship... and it gave me like all 4SCU boxes...
Is there anyway to get like 32SCU boxes or sometime bigger than 4sπ
That was a pain to load.
(I didn't put the ship down in the hangar storage and didn't want to mess with it)
Or is there a way to buy 32SCU containers?
Just so I can just pack it all in those.
Makes it easier to load and unload my C2
8 scu is the largest you can buy. Collect the order to a ship and you'll get it in bigger boxes.
I want 16scus or something bigger I can stuff my junk into. I can put my size 1 components into an 8scu container but the size 2s are like "nah man"
Yeah having store all containers of all sizes would be nice
Like 32s would be great for moving mats
I feel like that would be mandatory for when we start crafting
I'd like some weapon racks that snap to 4, 8, 16 SCU tiles that can hold multiple ship weapons stacked for moving
I just want to stop having to move a hundred boxes. Like seriously lol
That could be nice.
No chance
Arrastra likely won't come out before the Expanse does. It needs refinery to be implemented.
It may not even come out before 1.0
Can you stack mining gadgets on rocks?
Sabirs and Optimaxes like?
last time I checked you coulnd't but maybe they changed that
Nah
Refinery module coming next year with galaxy?
No
Good chances the Galaxy will come out with med and cargo modules only
Because Galaxy is a modular ship, they can release it with some of its stuff missing, unlike the Zeus MR or Arrastar that are waiting on BH 2.0 and refinery to be released.
The Expanse will likely be the first ship with refinery.
I'll be honest why would someone put a refinery on a ship with no capability to gather ore?
I mean refinery fees aren't that much.
Maybe in some large org ops, but assuming the galaxy with the refinery doesn't have a ton of cargo space you would probally be better off with a C2 to just haul the ore back. Granted the up front cost would be higher, but your personell cost would be lower.
Which is more important.
The only exception is quant.
Now a refinery on a mining ship kinda like the reclaimer would be pretty nice.
But I will say I am a sucker for the recent RSI ship designs. The Zues series looks so nice. And I think the Arrastra would look quite nice to knowing RSI.
Arrastra looks incredible
Selling a mobile refining service
Go to miner out in middle of nowhere > grab ore > refine and take to location for them
Or for orgs who donβt want to stop at stations to refine
So how much would they pay for the ore then? Then how much would they make per load? It basically would force the price of ore to go up significantly.
all what if questions until itβs released Β―_(γ)_/Β―
Itβs like they starfarer. Why have a refuel ship when you can go to a station
Can use the expanse to keep miners out in their little gold mine instead of having to leave it and risk getting pirated
I don't think refueling will ever be a profitable buissness lol
Unless they plan to inflate the econemy. But even then
best QD for Mole?
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
But would it be worth it to stay out?
Starfarer iirc can refine its own fuel
If you find a rock field that has more ore than you can carry yes
Then the price of ores would need a sharp increase.
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
How much do you think is fair for a single Golem load of ore?
Idk I havenβt used the golem
Canβt predict economy changes when the expanse releases
32 SCU of ore. A run can be done in about 20 minutes to go from CRU-L1 to yela and back
Also refining is kinda cheap.
why is it when mining, without exploding any rocks. i always loose modules on the front mining turret on the mole. Do i have to make sure the red zone isnt charged at all when the green completes?
hey i got "cargo transfer complete" but its only at 6/4070 scu??
anyone know a fix to this
ramming into the station helped
typical Hull C experience
Any clues here?
Modules always being broken off the head whilst mining. Even when not overcharging to a point where the red bar is full
Any overcharge causes some damage
Best to let it simmer down and recharge if you've got overcharge, I know it's easier said than done with server lag
So, if I achieve full green charge with a small bit of red charge left over. That will damage my ship?
does anyone actually do these or just the hauling missions
because these seem like really nice $$$ but wanted to know
hey erm let me ask something for clarification real quick... Qant ore is volatile in an ore pod even if that ore pod is plucked off the mining ship and stored in a cargo ship for later hauling to a refinery, right? It ONLY loses volatility once brought down a cargo elevator, aye?
Correct.
Thank you π
Some brave souls do trade commodities with the 'C'. I'm not one of them. I use it for hauling. Too many things can go wrong with it to risk my own money.
can sing a song of that. I've tried commodity trading for some time but I've lost so many millions that way, lost probably 10x what I earned, so I am done for good with that until further notice.
I can understand. I've been taking it slow with commodity trading and just using my Raft. It's not huge profits but it's steady and when the game decides to blow up my ship or steal my cargo it isn't a huge loss either.
Anyone got tips for first mining advice?
The front turret is closer to the rock, so even if the other turrets are far enough, it can still take damage.
As long as the red bar isn't completely empty, if there's a bit of red, it's overcharged and will do damage.
Full red bar is just ultra violent instant ship killer explosion
You need to practice to have no red at all
It will take damage no matter what. Overcharge just does more.
Mole hotbox geometry is pretty weird in front
Unless you're at max range, some part will be close enough to take damage
You don't take damage from perfect cracks if you're in the optimal range.
I had a lol moment Roc mining, I obliterated a node and it actually damaged my zeus that was parked like 200m away lol
And allow me to throw in a tip: If you overcharge a little (happens easily with a node with a tiny optimal window), you can use your ship's backwards speed as joker. You can crack the node even if slightly overcharged and simply speed backwards, out of the blast range. That is, as long as you have enough heat momentum left in the optimal window to "finish" the cracking without more laser power. It's a matter of the right timing. Note though, that the higher you overcharge, the higher the chance some broken off pieces or the entire node will explode and be lost!
If you're not in a solo MOLE
Meh- Its only a repair bill.... Or just ramming a station at Max speed
would I need some people on the side turrets to crack this? what gadget(s) would you use?
π
I usually do cargo to make $$ but its tedious as hell
You can make 500k/hrs about
So that's pretty good.
cellin 2 rocks in one cluster both 60k 150scu 46 and 48scu quant
fuc you! π
...but congrats! growls ^^
Currently working towards a C2 so I can bedlog and mine for multiple sessions with my Golem, probably in Pyro. Any location suggestions? My plan is get ore then bring it back to Stanton for refining (better bonuses, lower risk). Something out in space seems better suited for that.
Terminus is really light, rich rocks. Id go there. Bring a Nobikov tho, it's cold
best place for quant mining?
Cellim
Usually find rocks close to each-other, or mark them with an object they have a waymark for. People would use 1/8 SCU Delivery boxes for this.
Do not expect quantanium in large quantities. They got lucky
Quantanium spawning was changed back in 3.19 or so, and is averaged between all other ores now. So no one single type of rock will give more than another.
Just don't expect to mine QUA with that, since you have to worry about it blowing up
So I see. Regardless, what's the best way to go about making money with the multicrew mole?
I assume I should be mining asteroid fields. But it id quite difficult to figure out what rocks are what... should I have a friend run a prospector and just search while me and the other do mole things such as breaking.
I've been doing Hauling contracts on a rented Taurus and have about 9m atm, do I get a RAFT as a stepping stone while I save up for a C2 Starlifter (and later Hull-C), or do I get a Starlancer MAX for some more space? Currently at Member rank with Covalex
A raft isn't going to give you much more than what the Taurus is able to do anyway. You're likely not to the stage of needing to carry more than 2 crates of 32 SCU. It's a great ship, but I'm not sure that makes sense yet.
I would keep running the Taurus, as it's faster than the SL MAX overall and you're in that stage of needing to do split deliveries for rep. Keep saving then grab the C2.
If you're just renting, you can give the MAX a try, right?
Know? No one does. Speculation would be before Alien week.
man those members cargo missions just dosnt seem like its worth the effort, its very little more money and those i have seen is like 3 stops
You basically just grind past it with a buddy who is also member rank. You can essentially split the job. It's less about the cash flow and more about getting past the rank.
Since the great averaging, it's basically "Get everything. Mark down any large quantanium, get it last."
how does the "coop" works ? if he sends down the elevator wont that mess up my job?
It might if you're sharing the mission. It very well could if you didn't. I've had mixed successes, but haven't considered these experiences in a way to really share the nuances that happen.
My duo and I kinda worked it out and auto pilot it.
yeah i could imagine. i wish it wasnt such a grind, im so happy i have a taurus i couldnt imagine the pain loading up a hercules with 100 scu of crates times 4 just to get 50k per misisons
The Taurus is just so hard to beat. Honestly, the only reason I no longer own one is because my buddy owns it. That and I want to force myself to try new things
I dont like the loading and unloading of the taurus but other than that its gold (right now im renting a Raft to try out)
I might upgrade the taurus next time i can get the starlancer max
Hmm Magnus Gateway is inside of stanton right? (its not the other one at pyro? )
Magnus is in Stanton IIRC
thank you i prefere not to go to pyro
is there any ship in game yet that can fit a mole?
Ill be honest the Taurus is very strong. But I hate that things egress. (Evelators) that and manned turrents are kinds dumb.
If any ship it would be the Idris
No, it's far too big to fit in an idris...
The industrial capitals aren't out yet
Soonβ’οΈ
Valid complaints. It doesn't bother me, and so the Taurus is basically the king, but I'm open to other options and chose to try and explore them.
is it just me or is hadanite imposible to find?
I still admit the Taurus is top tier.
Easily one of the best multirole ships In game.
I will say tho the Zues CL comes close to topping it. If only its cargo grid was 1 higher and 1 wider.
what size ships can the vulture break?
Up to size 4
thanks
Is the hullc broken- broken or is it worth grinding for
It seems everyone's mileage on that varies. Mine is that it is broken sometimes and others it works just like the brochure said it would.
i rented a raft but hauling from port tressler to new babbage is only making 80-90k per run
im junior rank so i guess im confused as to where all of the money is at
consider i also made 300k my very first run because i was able to stack like 6 or 7 contracts but that oppurtunity seems to have gone away
Better missions come at member/experienced rank
You get through jnr pretty fast tbh
I recommend doing to runs between Everus or Tressler and their local distribution centers
For member rank there's 6 you can stack going to 3 locations, needs some logistics management but should take around 45mins, 90k x 3 and 99k x 3
From PT to 2x DC and NB
I do Bajini to Area 18, stacking 7 rookie contracts and a junior contract going down to Area 18, and 1 or 2 junior contracts up to Bajini
I can't stand those all 1scu boxes
I tend to do the Hurston senior from EH to HUR1,2,4 for 320k, takes me around 40 mins in my Caterpillar. I occasionally do a Hull C 700k but they rarely complete for the full rewards
I keep trying to rank up Pyro but nearly all the missions are bugged or just ridiculous like jnr rank 300scu x 8 like 40 boxes and it's 3 loads down the slowest freight elevator
You're on the screen so long it's high risk
Takes an age to go up or down and if you leave the screen it resets and eats the cargo
Plus the locations, I did one jnr mission, 60k, pick up from 2 outposts and delivery to one station, took almost an hour because it was about a 180gm trip and I had to stop to fuel up, store, retrieve, etc. And it only accept half the boxes. Waste of time lol
ATLS shaves the time needed to load and unload down to a 1/3rd of what it is with the RAFT tractor beam
There should be 6 new 50k missions by the time you get back to tressler
Are you able to place refined materials in bigger boxes than 1 SCU?
the box sizes are set automatically depending on the amount of the scu, and whether the destination is a ship or local inv. for example if the ship only takes up to 4scu boxes and you have 8scu you would get 2x4, if it's going to a bigger ship or local inv you'd get 1x 8scu box
Ya, im gonna be doing everything in an asgard
So hopefully it takes decent sized boxes
U can fit 6-7 32x scu boxes in an asgard btw if u stack them right ofc xD
Is there any recommended place to go to for member hauling contracts?
Microtech was my go-to, just stacked a bunch of the small planetary missions on a rental RAFT
Or Port Tressler really, that's where all the missions there start
I'll head over there then, since I'm currently at Baijini
So long as I have SCU stored in a station It won't disappear with the update correct?
Iβve been told SCU boxes of commodities will still disappear
No clue though
Why did the devs think its a good idea to demands/ no demands?! the game is not ready for that yet. the first server i jumped on to sell my reclaimer material "no demand" -.-
IM SO done with this.... Now my mateiral me and a friend gathered yesterday is marked as stolen?!!!
@short tapir everyone is cheesing the cleanup missions in Yela so Orison is the worst place to sell
still i cant even sell despite its in demand its marked as "stolen"
Not sure about the stolen, seems like a bug but otherwise it's better to sell at other locations
yeah some ppl in chat says its because i did it with someone... and is no longer in a group, why would i be in a group? its MY resources π¦ i guess i can say goodbye to those few millions! Im SO fed up with CIG
should be able to sell it at hex but gonna be at a low rate
yeah and that kinda beats the purpose. Also i dont have a ship big enough for 832 scu lol
anyone can tell me the price for selling construction material at Orison vs Cru L4/l5 ? :S uexcorp.space gives me a bit of a strange image (or im reading it incorrectly)
full RAFT is very satisfying!
they could have done a row of 1x as well lol
What the hell is that ship
Argo RAFT. that's 24 boxes
ages aga but it got reworked with a bigger grid, you can rent it - 192scu it will carry
What is ages ago
like 2 yr
Because i also havent played in ages
rework was in the latest patch, before was 96scu
Im so excited to hopefully get back in and play this year
I hope to god
My cats will be healthy
Because so far ive been stuck on an i9-12900HK and 15-17 fps at 100% cpu usage just aint cutting it for me
And my cats are constantly sick
So the vets are sucking every single penny i have outta me
I've just bought the CPU off him lol but it's for my wife's PC, she don't play SC π
I'm running an old Ryzen 9 5900x, still going strong
AMD is almost the only way to play this game
NB@4k
Hopefully if my cats become healthy again i can buy myself a pc this year
And get back in to the grind after 3 years of being completely offline
full 60 in the hangar π
about cru l5 it dosnt accept construction material in 16scu size......
BTW is there a bigger flyable ship than the 890j now after those 3 years?
yeah Idris just released at fleet week
How much have i missed?! The hell is an ATLS
does anyone know if its all stations that dosnt accept 16scu crates?
Might need to disable the shields. Worked for me at least when I had this Bug with the atls
should be off I used 'U' to turn the ship off
didn't take me long to unload all done
Had this with the taurus the other day with the atls and the maxlift
depends on the commodity
some stations accept weird sizes, there's almost no uniform to it
I think you need to watch some videos!
the ATLS is a mech suit for loading, there's also a mining version and soon a combat version you can craft via Wikelo (look him up!)
thats not easy i tried cru l5 (the commodity) but despite it saying 1-24 on the uexcorp.space site it didnt π¦
Holy shite!
Ive missed a lotta shit
And yet the fps stays unplayable
there have been some performance improvements, might be worth try again and also ask in #helpdesk when you do as the helpers might be able to suggest settings that could improve things for you.
Id say the opposite of improvements
Ive dropped by 2 frames since 3 years ago
I also know exactly whats the issue
The fact that i have an intel cpu
So no need
I just need better hardware

Finally got time this weekend to try the Hull C again and had 0 issues. Not sure if it's so many have left to go play Dune and the servers are running smoother or what's different from last weekend, but I did a bunch of runs with no issues.
