You need to store the ship or the ore pods to refine, just note that the pods are consumed when you refine if they're removed. (Repair replaces them) you can't change the loadout on rented ships
It's possible to change components manually with a tractor beam but not really efficient
if I wanna buy a mining ship, which ship should I buy, I was saving for corsair but I do kinda like mining and I can always rent a taurus (I have 5.3 million right now)
for solo the prospector or for a crew the MOLE. You can solo a MOLE, a lot of people do and go with different loadouts on the lasers for different type of rocks.
wait, my consumed ore pods have been returned now I've logged back in - cool!
I'm not really that much or an expert sorry, I'm using a golem just for basic stuffs
hopefully one of our Gurus will be able to help more
I've been flying round with it in the Asgard lol
Where is the best place to do prospector mining this patch?
moons usually because smaller rocks
Any Prospectors who want to join Idris space mining in Pyro? Also need a pitstopper to swap bags.
guys a question here, please answer
do i need some special mining laser head for ROC to mine a hadanite?
you seriuos??
100% serious - check patch notes from 4.1.0
gimme a sec, that's the wrong patch I think
yeah it was 4.1, you can read about it here under 'features' https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/comm-link/Patch-Notes/20522-Star-Citizen-Alpha-41#9da78b1b
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
there's new ROC mineables and hadanite was moved to hand mining
okay, thanks mate ❤️
the best one for ROC mining (outside of align and mine) is Feynmaline and it's really common on Pyro moons
391k/scu (that's about 3 clusters)
yeah yeah i know, thanks a lot for the info 🙂
thanks 🙂
I mined some hadonite with the ROC in stanton...in 4.1 not sure if it was moved already then or not
with teh ability to carry extra bags it makes mining sessions last much longer!
Yeah you can go for a nice expedition now, it's quite nice.
I did go out again this week but mineables were broken again so I came back to Stanton lol
Havent done hauling in a very long time what website you guys using for best prices buy/sell?
What are the going rates for gold and taranite?
Usually uexcorp or sc-trade-tools
anyone know if they are planning to put the ATLS style tractor beam on ships too?
it would make hauling in my connie taurus so ez
CIG don't like to make things easy lol.
Asgard + Golem and 4 spare pods was a fun experiment
16 scu of taranite, 10 scu of gold and 12 scu of quant altogether
Found the quant on the last batch of pods. Left the golem behind rather than try and restack the pods to fit everything back in 😂
Found a ton of that in Stanton on planet Aberdeen today, made about half a million in an hour
hey my friend bought a golem and he have had issueus taking off two days in a row now after mining a bit (its like its stuck to a point in space and wont move)
anyone have experienced this and know how to fix it?
need a permanent mining group
- a common practice among pilots when landing is to turn off the engines, check them are on
- sometimes ships glitches, reclaiming the ship solves most of those problems
Are there hull-c missions in pyro?
@mild pumice when u handmine do u go for feymaline only?
I just collected my work orders and selected the station as location, but I dont see it in the inventory manager do I need to be in the hangar
That ones a Roc mineable, but yeah that's the only one I go for because the other two don't pay much
he wasnt a new pilot or anything he was stuck like this xD its every time he is mining in the golem
can't say I've encountered that but looks frustrating AF lol
It is xD almost as frustrating as getting killed inside my prospector without it damaging my ship 😒 just instant cap
had that happen twice
when i crack the rock
are there certain resources who cant be refined from some refineries? i noticed on uexcorp.space it has a tab under prices called refineries and then a number
I think some refinery have a boost for certain materials, AFAIK you can refine anything you mine at any refinery
oh okay hank you
Thanks*
Anyone scraped and munched an idris yet?
Curious how much rmc/con mat she gives approx
That is the most demoralizing thing about mining if you ask me 😮 looking forever for some rocks just for this bug to happen
has CIG ever provided more details on how the XXS pad on the front of the liberator will work if you land something on it that overhangs a bit? Like, if the landing gear are all properly on the pad, and it isn't hitting into anything or hanging off the ship, it should theoretically work even by 1.0 standards right? at least from what we know
wondering if I'll be able to fit a prospector there or if I should keep my Golem
I can't sell the medical supplies I don't understand why, I tried at HUR L4 and ARC-L4
I think the issue is that those stations don't have loading/unloading facilities for the Hull C. You're restricted to major space stations (Seraphim etc) and the gateway stations (Terra etc).
annnnnd the hull c is destroyed because I go through dockin port
big ouch
does surface mining in stanton work as good as pyro now?
Nice
How much does carinate sell for?
anyone know why I'm 'buffering' lol
I haven't tried to collect it yet
sorted, worked on the other screen 🙂
Just throwing this out there in case someone sees it and says, "Actually... yeah"
Hoping one day we can get a slider on mining orders, or some sort of physicallized cargo (not boxes, the stuff inside the boxes) so we can round orders down to the next full SCU of something, or set aside that 0.073 SCU of something to put in a box with other stuff later...
Doesn't refining round up to the nearest whole amount?
ahhh, I never knew that
Did they fix the fortunes ejectors so they actually work now?
Hello, I just purchased the Golem, but I wasn't able to enable Quantum drive, does it not come with one?
I recall hearing that the Raft had some issues holding ore pods, has that been remedied?
That was a bug I've been dealing with since 4.1.1 didn't seem to mess up collecting for me. Just covered up stuff behind it
Friend up mine loaded up pods on his and didn't seem to have any issues
What is the best approach to upgrading the RAFT's components? I'm looking to improve speed and shields. I don't care about weapons or stealth since the RAFT isn't built for fight. I would however, like to be able to run if a fight finds me.
Mad, thanks bro
Just remember when swapping. The pods are loaded upside down on the raft lol
Wouldn't connect to the prospecter/mole until he flipped them
Ohh that makes sense, they only snap to grid "upright" but the raft's grid is inverted
Just Park the raft upside down next to the prospector while swapping bags
Yeah exactly
you really can't increas the speed of the Raft. The only upgrade I make is the QD. I upgrade to the Hemera. It's fast, efficient (increases total jump distance) and has a fast cool down compared to other comparable drives.
do some places not take 8 scu tried to sell argon at pyro gateway bc i accidentally bough 124 8 scu crates in stanton gateway
You need flight blades to improve speed. RAFT doesn't have any so far.
You should care about stealth cause it may be what avoids you a good amount of encounters.
Ask in #flight-combat-racing , they know all the best components for either the toughest RAFT or the stealthiest, or mix of both.
So I just got the reclaimer back. I only used it a bit. But it kind of dawned on me I got it kind of late. Im curious.. What is it actually supposed to get in the future? Like I know its a ways out for sure but what is it supposed to get?
why does the golem doesnt show the mining progress sometimes any workarounds?
I feel like there is a design oversight with the taurus :S
how the hell am i suppose to get it out
lol definatly a design oversight then
The Connie was designed when only 1 SCU containers existed and we had auto (un)loading without even needing to store the ship. Haulers didn't even need tractor beams.
yeah i guess i had totaly forgot that there was a cargo room back there. But i guess its gonna get an overhaul at somepoint
thanks
I love the taurus, but that "cargo" space does need a touch up.
A redesign?
Yeah I've heard them say they would have to redesign parts of it.
they were planing for it to literally eat ships to salvage
but as the system was changed, it makes no sense for almost half of the ship being empty lol
currently doing hauling in pyro for red wind on junior. anyone here with member or experienced level? does it pay out later?
The reclaimer will have a rework entirely because the interior make no sense especially the grinder
Anyone with any experience mining Quantainium?
Does it function correctly? I heard surface mining was very buggy.
What's the yield per hour roughly?
Any planets to aim for? (I heard Lyria is a good one)
Does anyone know if there is a workaround for the rocks not turning so i can mine it?
its like all rocks i have seeen so fare
From what I've been reading it sounds like surface mining is pretty busted right now
damn i played last night and it was okay 😦
It sounds like it works better on low pop servers but then gets worse on higher pop
i guess its just not always an option to pick low pop 😦
noob here, don't you have to switch to mining mode to scan a rock?
I tried that as well but it wouldnt turn thats why i turned on scanning to try and force it
just got back from taking a break since 3.27, kinda wild that mining is still broken in the exact same way 😐
bah it didnt work logging out in my bed as well 😦 edit tried to logout in bed to switch server
on the bright side, if you do manage to get it to work quantanium will sell for a LOT to other players since its so tough to farm it right now, and lots of people want it to build the polaris
Sometimes shooting it works
Its a server issue
Are we still able to sell drugs at scrap yards in Stanton? Haven't played in a couple of patches
Yeah, up to 24SCU containers
How so? They won't buy more than 24scu? Or can you do multiple sales of 24scu?
The freight elevator can't take 32 SCU containers
About that, i know that you usually should just mine and take quant as a bonus, but with so much player demand for quant, i wonder how profitable group mining specifically for quant could be, mabye with a small ship scouting and taking the bags back and forth so the mole can stay out in the field
Switch to mining mode and wait. Can take minutes for the rocks to load, depending on server performance.
i will try that next time
thanks
selling quant to players can pay well, but quant is an avg 5% spawn rate
if mining only quant, your uec/hr drops since you spend more time looking than bringing in taranite
Is it worth going Prospector over Golem?
Is it possible to use the Vulture to salvage ships that have been downed on planet surfaces?
yes
Know of any good places to find ships of players that were shot down during mercenary missions by automatic turrets?
I remember doing a bounty hunt at one of these shubin facilities and there were about a dozen ships lying arround
Would be a lot better than having to scavenge for debris on asteroid belts
I can't say for sure since wrecks often despawn within 30 min, but you'll often find downed ships when you pick up bounties or do the new patrols
abandoned ships near bunkers too
Aww man, i didnt know they despawned so quickly. Either way I def want to give that a try… if I dont get shot down myself for being too close lol
Thanks
@hollow pewter what you can do is tag along behind a group doing bounties or patrols, lots of wrecks that way
Ohh great tip
Maybe accept a bounty, go there and abandon the mission. See who else has tried and gotten taken down
if the combat team goes soft dead, you could also use the vulture to bring them back by printing repair tools and canisters
Dude you are a trove of knowledge. I didnt even know the Vulture could print that kind of thing. I thought it made only boxes.
I am just coming back after years, once I have refined ore, how do I load it onto a cargo ship? The crates say they are too heavy to carry
buy a tractor beam, either the MaxLift for 19k from a cargo shop, or the TuHold attachment for your multitool
Thank you!
Is the mluv tractor better then the mule or shkuld i upgrade the tractor to the mule or melt tractor for atls
Nope
damn
And probably nope too
ATLS or handheld tractors.
Whats the difference between the ROC and the ROC-DS?
ROC-DS splits driving and mining between two seats.
Same mining power, triple the storage and one of the two seats is sealed so no weather issues.
It's also more stable and easier to drive.
Bru bwomp
Where can I buy an ATLS GEO in-game for Auec?
It's not available for auec yet afaik
Is it at least rentable?
No, i don't believe so
Shit! Ok thanks
Are there other mining vehicles that would fit in a Vulture? The ROC maybe? Anybody tried this yet?
I want to be able to Salvage/Mine
Im not sure the vultures cargo bay is tall enough for the ROC, ive never tried though. Plenty of youtube content creators like to try stuffing all kinds of things in their ships, might find a video with a definitive answer there
if i see a stone in the propsector that i can scoop up striaght away, does that mean someone was here or is it just random?
how do I sell from ore pods?
you can either place them down your hangar elevator or leave them on the ship and store the ship down
then go to the Admin office, select the correct location for the ores and sell them
what about for refinery orders?
That, but refinery terminal
can you reuse ore pods once the refinery order has been put in?
Random
Afaik, the refinery eats the bags if you refine from the local inventory
You keep bags if you refine from the ship
The bags are returned currently @rose forge
84hrs for dynx solve is criminal
Yeah, I put 4 bags in a time and call it a day. I'll put the other 4 in the next session, and sort things out for transport
Random but man they gotta add box missions back 😩
indeed
They did, kinda
well on Pyro stations there is a mission to carry a box from a point to another,
but they nerfed it on 4.1.1 and now is not worth doing it
That
sadly there is no point doig it anymore
are there any suits avalable in game anymore that are good for walking around on Aberdeen? or did they remove all of them? i thought the aril suit was supposed to be good here but its not.
It's the Pembroke suit you want
Or any heavy armor really, they give more than enough time to not be in danger
really? thats it? didnt they remove that from being able to be purchesed in game? what happened to the aril being able to handle it?
I think you dreamed the Aril being capable of this
no.. ive been walking around on aberdeen with only an aril suit for the last 2.5y with no issues until now.
for hours. outside of a ship or anything else.
Aril never had any special temp protection.
The most heat protected armor that's not the Pembroke or Zeus gave a bit over 1h of time outside. Morozov heavy armor.
how on earth did i never die or have any issues then i wonder cause i hate heavy suits and never wear them.
im now upset about how the npc's can walk around just fine with plain clothes.
Everytime you walk back into your ship you go back to normal temps. Same with every enclosed vehicle.
Also I experienced a few times some kind of god mode where I was invincible to temps and didn't need to drink/eat ever.
Do you remember having to drink/eat with your Aril armor when in hit environment ?
this i am aware i use that so i can stay out longer. but if i dont do that i should at least have a notification that hey its hot here. lol. i have always had to eat and drink yes. often a bit sooner and more often than i normaly would on other planets.
hey is lyria any good for roc mining?
Anyone know of a workaround for mining modules not firing?
Im trying out salvaging and is this worth?
can I only sell RMC on Orison in stanton?
Use this
Will show u where u can sell and for how much
I found feynmaline, but when I mine it it goes into these little blue crystals and the description says "if you mine feynmaline it explosively degrades into janalite" or something like that but the name of the crystals is still feynmaline
I've never noticed that before! I've always just sold it lol.
I don't know where you have seen this info but it's probably fake they are 2 distinct ores
it says in the description xD
Strange maybe an error from cig because janalite is very rare
It's not uncommon to find pieces you can immediately extract. If you find something that has been broken then that would indicate that someone else broke it and could only pick up a portion because they were full and left the rest.
From my experience when this happens I abandon the vehicle and claim it, I actually started carrying two ROCs for this reason as they can get damaged and no longer work as expected. I have to say this hasn't happened to me yet since 4.1 and I have filled at least 6 bags without issue. The removable ore bags for the ROC was a welcomed addition! If you were referring to the Mole or the newer mining vehicles, I think the same logic would apply.
is there a way to differentiate between randomly directly extractable and broken but left over?
is it safe to pick up refinery orders into station inventory yet or is it still broken? Couldn't find a clear answer on reddit or via discord search
Hows mining in pyro? Is there enough profit to justify all the hassle?
whats a good refining process to use? first time mining in a long time and just really unsure
Dynx or Ferron for max yield
any reason for one over the other? or just prioritze high yield?
Both have same yield, Dynx is the slowest and cheapest.
heard, thanks
usually, if it was broken and left bhind the rocks will look more like when you yourself break them, kinda stacked together and some parts may still need to be broken again - but other than that no. In regards to picking up refinery orders I have not had a single issue this patch.
thank you, much appreciated
I always do the cheapest cost and max yield, check both of the recommended ones but certainly look through them and get a quote to see what you prefer, sometimes the shorter time isnt that big of a hit but again for me I don't mind waiting as I just keep stacking them!
If your loaded up on Taranite for example you might want to run to ArcL4 to refine the load, if its Quantanium, you might prefer ArcL2 for the bonus - to me it doesnt seem to be that much of a difference in terms of travel time and getting back out there to get more!
Where can you do Asteroid mining in Pyro? I don't like planet mining...
In any mining claim, Lagrange point, asteroid belt
best thing to do with zeus cl?
like types of cargo hauling etc
i read this, but im unfamiliar with the new update/missions, can someone elaborate?
The Zeus CL is also great for carrying a Roc for surface mining, being an industrial ship it has a better scanning range for surface mineables.
oh right i didn't think of that
im trying to figure out what i should buy for a mole for mining? anyone got the scoop on a decent loadout? are active modules working right now? i heard there were some bugs with activation
does ROC mining work in stanton now?
probably, and especially when the free fly event finishes
when does it end? i do want to go back to the verse 😛
Free Fly ends today.
ILW is up until 20:00 UTC, so I think theres only a few hours left
Anyome scraped and fractured an Idris yet? If so what was yield? Inquiring minds wanna kno
Gotta say I like the golem. Good job drake!
It's simple, fun to fly, gets the job done. Not a lot of mining power but it's a starter
Do all the ships get pulled from the store after ILW ends? This is my first Invictus
They keep a small amount available that rotates periodically
Thank you
Tomorrow back to the grind then 🙂
The inventory delay was anoying. Looking for group to do hathor mining thing. I havent had the chance to try it out. Especially because i got the golem.
yeah inventory hasn't been great lol
I've been keeping displayinfo 1 up now and some moves taking up to 1min to complete!
is it worth getting a hull c for this or just save for reclaimer and do that (salvage/munching)
i've heard more people having more success with the hull c and am kind of interested in trying it out
My knowledge is entirely based on several members of my Org that have Hull Cs, but the experience in 4.1.1 is still very hit and miss with auto-load/unload still being very inconsistent. When it works, its a great money maker according to my org mates, but the key caveat is the "When" part.
If you own a Hull C pledge or have the aUEC to burn on one in-game, then theres no harm in trying it out and seeing how much success you have. It gives you another way to access a game loop and allows you to help contribute to identifying bugs/issues that exist. Given that this is an Alpha, there is not much of a point to amassing aUEC outside of using it to access new/different game loops.
does the geo equip mining modules
nah, it's really only meant for roc/hand mineables and theres no modules sized for either i'm pretty sure
is there any reason to change the weapons on the C2?
https://www.erkul.games/loadout/kHLU2XpQ
i think this is good, or would there be better.
C2 used to be able to do HRTs, but dont think that's the case anymore, your build seems good 👍
is there any known workaround for non-working cargo grids?
ok thx
it is, but not really "easy". I'd rather take a M2
- try jumping to a different server.
- try re-claiming your ship.
on the other hand, asgard has no issues with VHRTs, didnt do ERTs yet
hmm, weird. 1 SCU and 2 SCU seems to work most of the time, anything bigger doesnt work at all for me
is C2 pyro hauling more profitable than stanton?
@nova talon missions or trading?
missions
Nah, the Pyro missions are unfinished
The junior ones never end and are mostly bugged
ok thx
The member ones don't work
The larger junior ones pay 132k to deliver up to 320scu in 8scu boxes, it's way too much for the small freight elevators at the outposts
the other day i was delivenring a cargo mission at some random post
i wanted to explore the building a bit and just stepping on a corner...
i felt down to the oblivion... to the void,
had to log out to menus, lost my ship, lost the mission...
this was at Pyro.
Yeah there's quite a few areas of terrain you can fall through in the pyro outposts
They're all rastar locations I believe and the system that deforms the terrain is probably the issue
Having a respawn on your ship is really handy in these situations lol
You should've been able to fly out to your dead body and at least got your ship, the mission should still be active - you do lose the backpack stuff as it sunder the surface and unobtainable.
Well at least we have refine to station now. Next up i hope they let you sell trash before refine
And maybe give minerals a purpose
Fix supply and demand, have mineral buyers produce things for shippers, have product buyers make things to sell players like ammo, fuel etc
How much is 100 janalite worth?
See on uexcorp.space
is there anyway to break this up into more chunks?
No, every ship gets 1 break
damn what a waste, ty
any idea why i cant adjust my hand mining beam's power?
The msr a decent cargo hauler?
hold alt when you scroll wheel to adjust power on hand mining laser and GEO low power mode laser
For the Wikelo Quartz SMG, does it have to be the base version of the gun? Or can it be any version?
you'll need 1000 to make an SCU of it, if that helps you
where's the best place to dink around in a GEO?
It might be against the rules to do this but I wanted to share. We had a triple Golem operation yesterday, with bag reloads from a mobile Polaris base. A dream come true in this game.
hey, i was wondering how bad pyro is for cargo hauling.Any hints?
Every time I do it I run into the issue that both the Headhunters and the CFP are hostile to me (despite having high rep with both), and so everywhere I go to deliver a haul, turrets shoot at me -.-
It's great if you don't die!
Is there any fix for a persistant "Unclaimed Cargo Awaiting Transfer" message? I did one mission in Pyro days ago and the message popped up, and wont go away.
I have been wanting to do an op like this for awhile lol. I actually got a C2 to use as my mobile Golem hangar
So what do you things better? Triple Golem or Mole?
3 people in a Mole is technically better since we found rocks that even with the 3 of us in Golems we couldn't crack open (also they were rented Golems, impossible to mod).
Dang, what rocks did yall have trouble breaking?
Like do you remember the size?
Been doing the same, can’t wait for ironclad since it’ll be even nicer for it
Where can i sell CM? NB its full
Is there a recommended component upgrade path for the Prospector for mining more valuable rocks?
you can sell it at the admin on any planet so you could go to orison on crusader lorville on hurston or a18 on arccorp since new babbage is full
personally i prefer a18, 1 short tram ride from spaceport to retail and just keep wandering towards north io tower in the middle of retail, iirc look at north io tower (tdd) go left into the building then up some stairs and you should find the admin to sell to
You can wait 15~ min or so and the stock should refresh
A 20000 110% instability monster.
Same price?
seems to be ever so slightly lower but it's a few days old so who knows
is the Golem technically able to crack larger rocks than the prospector thanks to its bespoke laser?
It's not an especially powerful laser, but you can strengthen it with a mod.
It's way worse than a Helix.
Same raw power, terrible stat modifiers
I think it's great as a cheap trainer, casual miner, or useful in a situation where you need a very small mining ship (e.g. hangar mining fleet), but for "aggressive" mining it can't compete with the bigger ships. The static mining head is a significant hindrance.
It really is what it is. A Starter.
Maybe a different story if mining was more profitable, or if there was a need for resources outside "sell resources to station Admin". If I wanted a bigger mining ship, I wouldn't "mine with my Golem until I have enough for XXX", I would make money a different way.
I think CIG did a good job at positioning the Golem in the layout of mining ships and vehicles
Yes I think it's a good ship too, makes mining accessible without a lot of cost to get into it.
I definitely plan to apply my CCU to a Prospector at some point but was considering just keeping the Golem so I can be sure it fits on the front pad of the Liberator. I feel like the prospector landing gear will touch down fine on it, but probably needs to be on one of the top pads
So for very small things, casual mining, early money making in patch.
If you're just a tiny bit dedicated into mining, then Prospector is the way instead
Did I see somewhere that there are changes to starting refining jobs? I can't seem to find info in the patch notes? Can we bring a Cutlass full of (full) mining pods from a Golem and submit them for refining?
Afaik you still can't make refinery orders from non mining ships.
But you can send the ore pods down the freight elevator and refine from the local inventory
ooh, that's perfect! and you can use any ship to bring the pods back, so that's kind of like refinery orders from non-mining ships, just with extra steps
Yes, if you want
At the refinery, I cant collect because it just has a processing screen saying processing your request
any ideas how to fix, relog didnt work
Change regions.
ty
can someone help me find the trading terminalon golden rivera?
if your doing the aligmnent ant it takes to long will the aligments reset?=
we jsut did them and they reset after we gave it the batteries?
so is there a timer on how long it has to take
?
yo anyone want to join me and my boy in salvage we need one more
is planetry mining working right now?
is the raft's 192(?) SCU rework live? website and ship rental just say 96 still
Yes, it is live.
thanks for answering groff!!
likely just a missed detail
they try but stuff always slips through the cracks
hmm. does the support station do anything? I assumed it was for tractor beam
no idea, i dont own one nor did i grab one to rent from ilw
ah the enter remote turret button is tiny. man i like this ship though
there is a keybinding for that, un-set by default
Yes...quite well I might add.
First off - that outpost is a deathtrap - prepare to fall through the planet if you keep exploring!
all types?. wanna go out with my mole and a few friends 🙂
I could be persuaded...I'm on a loot goblin kick right now in search of pristine artifacts - best I have found so far is "worn". I was on a prospecting kick a week or so ago - I binge play this game, lol.
I am more of a fan of the prospector and the ROC - just no real exp running the mole, so the modules and setups are not in my knowledge base. I do like working together on things, so the mole will probably be in my future.
Anyone with any history on finding "pristine" artifacts please let me know where you found them, either PM or post here. I am not even sure if they are in the loot table anymore as I have visited locations in both pyro & stanton without luck - got me plenty of damaged and a few worn tho
UEXCorp says I can sell quant at CRU-L5 maintenance. I get to CRU-L5 and it's not in demand
is that just the way things go?
Hi guys, with comodity training, is there any hard and fast rules around which places allow auto loading?
"Not in demand" or "Cannot sell" ?
Just wait if it's not in demand.
Every place where you can store your ships allow auto (un)loading
Ahh. thanks. the place i picked up the food at only had pads so i guess thats why i had to manually load ty
Is this mission still available ?
What ore is the most profitable to mine with a roc?
how do you auto load?
Cant with cargo contracts, CAN with commodity hauling
Unless you have the hull C
The ATLS takes fall damage?
how
In the sales terminal theres a square you mark for autoloading
It has a money cost
And loading time
the admin screen?
The selling terminal. Admin or TDD.
The screen youre using to buy the stuff you want to trade
Ship has to be stored
Folks that are doing hauling contracts in the Hull C: Do you avoid accepting missions to certain locations? I had a bug unloading cargo to Everus Harbor last night, so I am wondering if certain locations are still prone to bugs and should be avoided
The ATLS takes fall damage? Or the driver?
can the atls geo be bought in game yet?
Nope
I think not. Not yet at least
Is the handmining display busted, or am I doing something wrong?
I dont get the left side indicator
Changing multi-tools fixed it
Ground/outpost cargo elevators can be bugged, but that was just my experience when the hauling contracts first came out. Not sure if there's been any progress in fixing them.
Sorry - you were specifically asking about the Hull-C --- I don't have any information on that. 😦
Happened to me in kresler, follow the sound instead of the bars
When you hear the " filling " sound try to stop adding energy
with the Hull C I tend to haul between Everus and the gateways. So far apart from the usual bugs of not giving you a full load or being very picky about being straight, level and stopped in the box I haven't noticed any one place being worse than others.
I never store the 'C' anywhere where I'm likely to pick up or deliver contracts. It was a tip I read a patch or maybe two ago and it has now just become habit. For example right now when I'm done hauling or dealing with bugs for the day I fly to Hur L1, dock (if it'll let me), fuel and then store.
So I was in an asteroid field in a Mole and I just randomly exploded. I wasn't moving (If I was, it would have been VERY slowly) and had Full Shields. Has this ever happened to anyone?
I feel like the only viable jobs right now are Salvage and Bounties because everything else is so broken.
Did you have any quantanium on board?
Or did you get close to any of the large asteroids that slowly rotate?
Maybe it was rotating?
It just happened again when I got close to my old ship corpse with nothing around. No Prox warning either.
If its specifically one of the scene dressing asteroids (not a mineable) those can sometimes have a hit box significantly larger than what renders. I had a similar thing happen to me in Cutlass. Slowly drifted up to an asteroid and then just exploded while i was still like 100m out
No warning. just dead
There used to be invisible asteroids, idk if they still exist.
That sounds about right. Thanks for the input. I love this game so much, but it doesn't want me to play it.
Lol F*** that. I hope they are gone.
It's 200% an Invisible Asteroid. Flew out in a Merlin and exploded with nothing around.
That is some shenanigans for sure. Where is it that you are mining?
Planet mining is pretty good, haven't tried the new asteroid clusters yet though.
I've had some good experience finding quantanium in the new Mining Clusters 4.1.1 added to Stanton. Have found several clusters of 3-5 asteroids scattered throughout as well. RS Signature strength is super helpful for hunting those clusters down.
What's the highest mass you've seen?
There was one massive 70k but I think that is because it was largely Gold and other dense low tier ores.
Most are in the 7-18k range with a few 20k+ scattered amongst them
Okay, so planet sized. I was under the impression they are bigger, for crewed miners
Need to start recording my mining sessions on regolith
Popping in here because the main chat is useless. Anyone else experiencing dreadful server performance starting yesterday?
First time in months I quite literally cannot play the game - my game bricks completely within 5 minutes
sorry to hear that Dan but this channel will probably be just as useless as the discussion here is focused on the industrial professions - that being said you cant engage in one if the game isn't working. I had a similar exp today where I was locked in a shard during a server error. I was doing my usual relic hunting, on a derelict outpost when 3 reclaimers rolled up and took out my ship - all I could do was backspace and head back but the game wouldn't let me due to the server error. Best you can do is wait about an hr, so I did - to my surprise I loaded back in exactly where I was and continued my game. I would head on over to the help channels (maybe in VC as well) and better describe your issue - saying your game bricks is not a great description to help you trouble shoot. Like I said this specialized discussion area isn't really the place for your questions and will probably get removed, and maybe along with my response. Good luck!
when that happens you just go back to the menus and try a different server
Lol, guess I could've just said that!
yes, we NEED CIG to perform Weekly Server maintainances
This isn't the place to ask about that. In case you missed it, this is the channel about #industrial-professions .
Maybe try #helpdesk next time if you can't stand #star-citizen

Anyone using the asgard as a dedicated hauler? How is it compared to something like the Connie or raft
I tried it. Worked fine. Good capacity, armor firepower
If i have a 200SCU rock with 30% composition of quant. my theoritical yield is just .3 * 200 = 60 right? My actual was closer to 40 SCU with perfect breaks and extracting everything.
has anyone had success selling cargo from 8scu containers? I thought I was able to sell at TDD directly from larger containers ... like stuff 8 1SCU RMC into an 8scu container. But it doesn't seem to pick it up
alternatively any better (faster) ways to move and sell a lot of 1scu RMC cargo?
is anyone having issues with the Reclaimer salvage heads not functioning in the PU? Ive had a look through Issue Council and Reddit and cant seem to find any current issues and was wondering if this is an issue just with my ship instance?
I think there is a bug with selling from the Cargo Warehouse at the moment, the TDDs arent registering the cargo. You can sell directly from your ship and it works, give it a go if you havent tried already
yeah I have been able to sell directly sometimes, I think there are still issues with the cargo grids in 4.1.1 stuff isn't lineing up properly. But I was able to sell from the ship, the rest I had to pull offthe ship and send it down the elevator and out of the boxes
Yeah there definitely are issues, hope they get this working quickly. They dont seem to be doing hotfixes much this patch...maybe due to invictus?
I know it was mentioned multiple times "oh yeah cargo grids on ships are fixed!" then someone would point out only on some servers/shards ... I've yet to see my ship's cargo grid fixed back to pre-4.1.1 so I just hope its taken care of by 4.2
Is it feasible that the nomad can compete with the hull a simply because it's faster to load/unload/fly
At least without an atls to load the hull a
IS there a component to upgrade on my MOLE that lets me scan faster
Might be the biggest quant rock we've ever mined, took us 1 mole and 1 prospector.
Do you find a full crew
(3-4) of Mole mining to be profitable?
I feel like the refined ore is pretty worthless especially Vs Pyro Bounties
Prospector mining with a Helix -- are any of the passive modules worth getting?
I run a helix on my Golem. Will have to check my build tomorrow after work but pretty sure i use a passive module to help with green zone.
I feel it depends on what game loop you enjoy.
not that I am aware of, you press the button and it scans so not sure how much faster that could be - maybe I am misunderstanding your question
i’ve unlocked experienced missions and want to get the Hull C, but i’m poor and doing Baijini Point to Area 18 rookie missions is tedious
what else could I do?
That super depends on the rock your trying to crack - check out regolith.rocks for great info on setups and modules. You can make your own loadouts, and compare them. My fav loadout is a Helix1, a Rieger-C3, and a FLTR-XL - and don't forget to get some mole bags to swap out the stock ones.
what sort of "experienced missions" are you trying out?
none, I don’t have a ship for them
i’ve been renting a RAFT to do cargo
and the raft doesn’t have the capacity for them
I would rent a taurus and do hauling missions in stanton -
190K to rent at area 18
3 days of steady hauling (double up the contracts if you can) and you'll make a few space bucks - it takes time, but the road to riches is in the journey, not the payout! You'll find this game is very enjoyable with friends, and eventually you'll run into the right folks - and then a few more.
doesn’t the raft have more capacity than Taurus?
Tuarus has 174 - raft is listed at 96 unless they changed it
The new raft update made it worth while now too.
It's way up
It's slow for short hops though because of the elevator
I do seem to recall it went up or something, someone correct me
It's like 190+ now, they got rid of the dumb grabber things
ah thats nice -
yah, and added a tractor beam
so chairlord you do know you dont have to haul larger loads all at once right? you can go back and do the mission in two runs
what i’ve been doing was 8 rookie contracts from Baijini to Area 18
My first cargo levels were the zeus and then the raft.... all from baiijni point
You can stack a ton of them there
so whats the payout like for that?
because that’s a lot more money than two missions
You level up a lot quicker too
well, if every one is 50k, you get about 350 to 400k
but it’s very tedious as it’s all 1 scu boxes
not bad, you spend some time - you shoudl be able to rack up some loot
It's worth it when you get to hull c missions
oh man screw 1 scu boxes, lol
I'm on #6 tonight at 711K/ea
Atls speeds the 1 scu box shuffling up a lot makes it more bearable
wish I could cluster 1 scu’s into 8 scu packages automatically
maybe pay a small fee at the elevator to load things into pallets
Once you get off rookie you start getting 4SCU which makes it a bit quicker
i’m at experienced rank
Yeah it's so daft not letting the box size be changed or like you sat palleted up
oh, and you're doing singles?
what do you mean singles
wish I wasn’t, but making 400k per run is really nice
I don't think you gain experience doing that do you?
and they only come in 1 scu, maybe 4
don’t need the exp anymore, I already have experienced rank
I just need the Hull C and i’ll be good
yes, I just live out of mine now, lol
wonder if I could make good money renting a prospector and doing some mining
Maybe? I think money per hour is still the best with cargo
I think you'll do better with the cargo hauling to get to the hull - maybe settle for the C2 ?
So I finally worked my way up to the Tycoon pack and got a hull C. NGL I havent done a lot of hauling this patch. Actually maybe only have done 1 or 2 missons. Do I need to do it until I get to the size that the Hull C can carry? Or?
Hull c sadly is pretty broken
For trading hull c is not so great due to the lack of location and commodity it can transport on those locations
And for hauling I don't know how it works with this ship
Plus the potential loading bugs
which quantom drive for the C2 besides the stock one?
Kama which is a very slow one
At the moment the qt drive stats don't make sense the faster have the longest range
Like ts2 can do 366 gm
i could get Agni, ts-2 is military so cant buy
314 gm before full refuel is pretty good
Erebos is the best you can buy
More range, faster acceleration, less signature than Agni
I just meant, I have to hold my laser over the rock before any information on whats inside it pops up. I was wondering if there is a way to make that faster.
Agni is only faster for jumps longer than 65GM
oh i see
I think I enjoy it, my friends say they enjoy it, but they also feel like they could be doing literally anything else and make more money. I've heard of people making good money with mining, I just haven't experienced it myself yet.
Possible to mine hadanite on aberdeen with roc?
No, you can't speed up the scanning.
Yeah, bring at least a heavy armor. Pembroke ideally
That's unfortunate. I hope they include some kind of mechanic to speed it up.
Wait, hadanite is hand mining only now, isn't it ?
I use the pembroke, i normally only go for feynmaline but i've never seen hadanite deposits :/
So thought i'd just ask if it's still possible cos i've never run into it sadly
Hadanite is only in caves now for hand mining
I have a member of my corp having 1000 scu in refinery ^^ thanks to swapping of bags
Ah that's why i haven't found any, what would you say is the best ore to mine with roc?
Like profit wise, i've been mining feynmaline for the past week.
Are you sure about that ? I have seen hadanite on the surface FPS sized
those crates really get stuck on this spot here
Yeah me too. I take a couple of Roc bags and spend a morning in Pyro then travel back. I'm keeping my setup at Stanton Gateway, I transfer my gems into an SCU crate then head back to Stanton to sell at BP.
can the atls geo be bought in game?
In 4.2 it will be
i bumbed into the station and got a crimestat 1 and some ship now keeps attacking me
A bounty on you ik guessing. Go pay to clear it
i did was just 20k fine
hi guys! rented a prospector yesterday and it was quite fun 🙂 not sure if i should save up for a golem or prospector though. any recommendations?
If you're committed into mining, definitely go for the Prospector
Golem is nothing else than a Starter.
It gets you early money and that's about it
Thank you for the advice. Any particular reason its better over the golem? It can mine more types of rocks?
the big windows are nice 🙂
Not stuck with a mid mining head, can equip the very good performing Helix, can swap mining bags for MOLE ones, which bumps the carrying capacity to 48 SCU, has an interior
wow 50% more scu thats huge. thx i'll save up for the prospector then. will take a while hehe...
You can't swap bags anymore
You can also rent avroc at jumps station it's cheaper
You can't exploit to get 96 SCUs
But you can buy bags and store them in a cargo ship and go swap them
And have refinery orders taking 300 hours

Hello there.
I have a question, currently i use a Golem. I use 2 surge modules. For instance I consume the 7 actives they have, and i dont have with me 2 to replace them. The only solution is to blow up my ship and reclaimed it?
Just land and repair.
Ty
I was reading the conversation about the prospector. How much cargo it comes as a default? And if it can be upgraded.
32 SCU
Afaik yes.
for 2 people, two vultures and a cargo ship or a reclaimer?
Reclaimer is probably more money/hour, but i've found 2 vultures 1 cargo more fun.
best place to mine this patch?
and can mole still be uhm let's say upgraded to hold more ores?
Nah, they fixed the bag stacking.
:(
Thank you!
Also for prospector?
you can put mole bag on prospector
Yes, but you can still make prospector 48 scu
Yes i know i was wondering if it possible 64 80 96…
Stacking
They gave us mobility with the bags instead, you can store them, transport them later, store the cargo ship that has them, send them to warehouse in smaller batches, etc.
if they have fixed bag stacking, have they also fixed the extra bags that are attached to the ships?
Or are they still just them folded disks that won't fold out?
I don't believe so. I think those are just uninteractable right now.
Question: Hauling missions. The deadline shown in the contract window. Is that how long you have to complete the mission?
Should be, yes
Dang, okay
You usually get about an hour
Yeah, but all the ones on my board right now are less than 5 minutes
I guess I'll just wait for them to run out
Oh, no
Those timers are how long until that mission 'is no longer needed, and gets replaced"
Those timers just mean in 5 min, that mission becomes a similar but different mission if not taken
Ahhh
Once taken, you get about an hour
If you read the missions, you start to notice the patterns. Amounts and destinations/pickups change minorly, but you can get a sense of how far you need to go with how much based on the names
Gotcha gotcha
I'm doing all my hauling with my Zeus ES right now
But I'm enjoying it. It's very chill
Looking forward to getting my Railen. Or my Hull D
Lol, yeah, might be a bit on those unfortunately, but as long as it's fun, that's the important part
Yep, I'm not fussed
Spoke too soon. This outpost is bugged, won't let me land
Won't even let me hail them
distribution centre, not outpost
AFAIK, some distribution centers don't let you call a hangar even though they are in buildings that should have them available. They have external freight elevators though
Oh there are elevators outside!
Yeah I just found them
Awesome, thanks
... Alright note to self, even if you all the items you're delivering from two different contracts are the same commodity, you can't just mix and match
I posted not that long ago that I had found a patch of hadonite while out in my ROC - not sure if it's a glitch or what as I have also read it was moved to hand minable but I did mine some on the surface with the ROC recently.
Does anyone ever just hold onto Commodities to wait for the best deal?
What's better for making money mining or salvaging
Hi, does anybody know what determines the size of boxes from mining jobs when delivered to station? I had an Avenger Titan parked in station, and a Raft elsewhere. I collected the jobs from refinery to station inventory, then flew with the avenger for the raft, and then when summoning the boxes, the biggest size was 4 SCU, although there were jobs that yielded 16+ SCU of the same material...
yes, maybe one day they will be worth more than 1 - but we shall see!
I dont think anyone knows, might actually be one or two devs who do - lol
Salvaging
i believe the algorithm decides that based on the biggest ship you have on the station, in your case it was the Titan, therefore small boxes
It might always be 4scu max when collecting to station inventory. I had a raft there and still got the small boxes.
still 4scu boxes are better than a lot of 1 scu boxes, like those given on Cargo missions
Yes, definitely. Still a bit sad that it doesn't at least take the biggest possible box for a ship that's present (when not owned). Makes the logistics with delivering different ores to different destinations more tedious.
Do I'm at the beginning of it all does it get better then accepting arrow salvage ships 😅
what's good with salvaging? better to farm rep and mission or look for wild plate?
go look for Panels instead, they are in any asteroid belts, like CRU-L1, L2, etc
check this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2CbN6T0BF0

panels give around $400k each full trip
how much contracts give to you?
lil ship as your starter package?
starter contract, ive some kind of arrow
with like 20k fee to reclaim
in stenton
dunno if farming the rep pay more
but you have a Vulture, right?
right
my advice is to go for Panels, you wont have to pay, they pay you!
sounds good!
kinda the same, hunters will also offer Bounty missions and those are well paid
beware the Citizens turrets, 'pacifists' they said... bullshyt
Pacifist doesn't mean pushover
so should I go and rent a Vulture and use that to grind?
or is it better to buy it and modify the components
Vulture is PERFECT, only thing u need to change is the scrapping modules, give 2 Abrades and you are ready for anything
so I should buy it
cool, I have 3 mil
why Abrades specifically?
what makes them better?
Wider area with decent efficiency. It saves you time as the cost of a negligible amount of RMC
that
Can anyone think of a reason why I wouldn't be scanning rocks while in mining mode in my MOLE? I've checked and my power settings are correct.
I was experiencing a BUG like that earlier in my mole that when I scanned the "pockets of stuff to scan" wouldn't show any distance and I had to get super close to be able to see any information. I just switched servers and it corrected itself. Servers have been terrible lately for that sort of thing.
Yeah looks like it was just that particular patch, the next one over worked fine
Can anyone confirm if the fortune is coming in July with the foundation event?
Is vulture scrapping hulls like a c2 worth it?
of course! you can easily fill up the vulture's filler 3 times or more with a C2
where’s a good place to try salvaging?
Whats the value of that in rmc? My friend and I have been doing head hunter contracts in pyro, debating on either salvaging them as we loot them or if it'd be worth buying a reclaimed or wait for a medium salvage shio
*ship
a Vulture full 100%, carrying 39 scus of RMC is around $400k
this to be precise
Potentially dumb question, how much rmc is one c2? Or something equivalent size? We could run a transport with it, though the thought of moving 100+ 1scu box's makes me nauseous alittle
the other day i found an 890 Jump, took me lil bit more than 1 hour but i got 1,2m from all of it
i bring my C1 to transfer the boxes from the vulture
Thank you for the answers, last question for now.
The reclaimer prints larger box's I assume, but I also remember back in 3.24 it "munched" wrecks after you stripped them, is this still a thing?
the munching gives you construction material
this should answer your question
So something but not much, what size box's does the ol reclaimer print vs the vultures 1scu size? Or I guess the fortune
several sizes, up to 16scu
Is it random or does the player choose? I watched one video but they didnt go over it much other then it was obvious they were larger
you can choose the box size on the Reclaimer's printer
Thank you for all the answers, will probably look into a reclaimer next time they're for sale.
Do ship weapons like M6A sell for anything to vendors or are they only good for players
couldnt find any data on any of the web tools for them
Is there a decent way to loot NDB-30s of Ships?
Reclaimer has a really high storage, and with a ship the size of a 890i you probably will fill it twice. And that will be wellllll above those 50 scus
Give me a shout later. I can pull my reclaimer out and you can have a test drive with it.
the stores will sell you for THOUSANDS but buy from you for pennies.
find a ship with NDBs, and take its guns out, do it while having your clothes on and it will be 'decent'
best place to find ships is where they do PVP, like at the PAF and CZ sites, even outside bunkers.
I rather meant ships that typically run them
any small and medium fighters, Gladius, Hornets...
Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? Trying to sell my local storage saved, boxed commodities like gold, etc at Lorville Center Station commodity exchange. Local storage will not show up when i have to pick a location. there's me and my ships which are empty.
half the ships i click on, for example Roc, shows the Asgard instead, click on Asgard it shows the Reclaimer. Nothing in any of them, just an annoying bug I guess.
Does anyone know if we will keep artifacts going forward with new game patches?
I also found an ipad that you can unlock and read an email on it. In my inventory it's named as "placeholder" - not sure if I will lose it or not come 4.2 but it's interesting for sure.
you probably will have to try on a different server, that one seems about to crash
unlikely, patches use to delete all 'consumables' idk what CIG actually have on that list
hello, could anyone hook me up with a mole solo loadout?
no but I would refer you to regolith.rocks to allow you to easily figure out what would work best for you
thank you- i did restart and loaded it all on a ship and see it now in comodities exchang but it keeps failing saying "'insufficient stock' - items pending transfer" though im trying to sell. It did finally go through but hjas been processing order for 10 minutes. Guessing ill prob lose this load. Ah well.
Red Monster SC has a good youtube video (Best Mining Loadouts in Star Citizen 4.1.1 – Golem, Prospector, and Mole) as well, and they can check out ElGuapoe's (Star Citizen 4.1.1 The Best Beginners Guide Mining for New Players in 2025 | Golem Mole Prospector) video too. Wasnt sure if it was Ok to drop links or not.
yep yep
what do you guys believe the must-have mining gadgets are for quantanium? running 2-man mole
So I just got a mole. Whats the best combo for mining quant
this is what i run
oh hey my question too
but I would be mining Quant only. with a friend possibly 2. so All passive mods would be prefered
ill check that out
Focus and Reigers are passive and very good to add
What mining head?
just be careful to test and make sure the rocks you go for are appropriate. It's pretty complicated but both ElGuapoe and RedMonsterSC have ALOT of awesome info. I'm still fairly new too and blew up my friends pretty easily last night 😄
wonder if there’s any components I can swap on the Vulture besides the scrapers, already using dual Abrade
how to crack with full crew mole?
I think i have to use Sabir but instability is going to be a massive problem
2 helix with dual surges and stampede might be enough, then a hofstead with 1 or 2 focus if green zone is small, and boremax for instability.
cracked it with sabir and impact instead of 2nd helix. instability wasn't that bad, got it on the third round of surges
what do these range meters mean
Lasers have a power output that also matters on the distance between you and the rock
optimal is what the manufacturer recommends and probably what the difficulty is calculated at
so you can back up/get closer to affect the power's effect on the rock. You might want to hug an IMPOSSIBLE rock at 100% output, but if you know you only have a strong laser and the rock you need to break is tiny, then you'd rather go to max and be at min power to not overload it
the slashy bits are the rock's explosion distance if you begin to overload it
so i wouldnt take any damage if my ship isnt in the red range?
but mining laser power changes over range
correct, shouldn't
alright
So me and my buddy are trying to mine but no matter what we do he cant change his laster intensity. is there a fix?
Ship or hand mine?
ship. we are in a mole
Fixed it. he relogged
does it matter where you do your refining?
How do you salvage the interior parts like power plants from smaller ships with only a pilot canopy to enter?
yes, some refineries do better than others depending on the ores, may a bit old but check this: https://www.scminingmom.com/post-mining/refining
you can not.
my goat.
not all ships have the 'gold standard'
So I guess I found out the hard way... Bed logging wont save your stuff in your ore bags?? Also was the prospector always this slow? I just tried a golem the other day and got so used to how zippy it was... Now I feel like im slogging around in the prospector.
I mean, it does have “Go” in the name after all
lol
No hull-c master missions? That's too bad
Delivery Failed - ▯▯▯▯▯▯▯▯▯▯▯ Any Work Around on this?
guys i need help on the loadouts for my golem im having a hard time breaking hard rocks that has alot of scu is there a way for me to break it any loadout recomendation
the key is the Rieger C3 module, the Focus module is to compensate the Rieger side effects
@olive gull thanks
i have been wondering how to break the big rocks and just do 1 big rock at a time
keep in mind there is a limit to what the golem can do, for really big rocks you would have to try in the Mole ship
would you say prospetor is better than golem ? if so whats the best loadout for it also about the mole also just for a single peroson mining
It's a $60 starter ship vs a $155 ship that can exchange mining lasers. Yes, it's better.
lots of questions, check this channel, he's specialty is mining

So, guys, I currently have a titan avenger that I pledged for and have been earning decent money in pyro with MRTs - about 500k to 600k/hr. I feel good about my earning potential with it. I'm torn between saving for a connie or getting a vulture/prospector. I can't rent a vulture - at least that I know of, but that is what I am most interested in. However, if I cant make more money than bounty hunting, I am not interested. I currently have 3.1 m saved up. What should I do?
Oh geez, sounds like the juice isnt worth the squeeze. What if you go unverified?
Same, you dont get good rewards anymore
In a Vulture, it's about the same. It has to do with how it works. That said, you can sometimes do around 200k unverified every 30 min, if you get lucky with missions.
Conversely, you can try Pyro, it's riskier, but you can make more if you're careful and quick.
Industry is about steady, safe, repetitive; until crafting comes in, it's not as profitable as nuking shit, speed wise.
It's all just how fast can you salvage
Gotcha, 400k to 600k/hr is reasonable and I dont mind doing unverified. I like hanging out in pyro. Do you need to grind rep outside pyro?
If you're skilled (which I am obviously not), how does that bump the numbers?
No, Pyro has it's own rep for salvage
Ok, cool.
MRT in pyro is like 600k/hr and feels low risk, just need to suicide once I run out of QT fuel lol
You're looking 400k every 30 min, max, and that's just the ship limitation. If you have help, you can do around 500k every 30 min
That's really not bad. I mean, I just need a break from ship killing lol. Getting kind of repetitive.
How much does a prospector vary from that?
Have a friend with a cargo ship help you keep your bay clear, and you can just scrape non-stop
I do have a friend with a cargo ship
400k doing what?
Prospector is a wild card. If you get lucky, you can do 300k in 5 min. If you're not, well... hope you are
Man, I just wish I could borrow a vulture lol
can borrow mine if you are ingame now
I am ingame and in Pyro, would appreciate it
Where are you making 400k in 30mins in a vulture?
There's a mission in Pyro that costs 200k to accept. You can scrape there for hours in a vulture as long as you pay attention. If you don't have to stop to unload, and you have abrades, you can scrape around 1mil an hour
You can do unverifieds cat/hh and do the same thing in stanton, but without a cargo ship, you just run out of space at around 400k
I've never scraped that fast
Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast. Use abrades, learn the ship geometry
eh, fuck it, i think im just gonna buy one and get grinding. my buddy got a cargo ship and bounty hunting is driving me insane slowly
Lil tip, replace the Cinch heads with abrade, replace the single Abrade head with a tractor beam. Makes it easier to move bigger shit.
where can i get them?
Dumper's Depot, ship part stores, sometimes Platinum Bay. Check finder.cstone.space
Also, practice using the tractor beam. Don't wanna throw your salvage off into space on accident
okay, bought the vulture. time to get the parts. will prolly clear some MRTs in pyro and suicide my ass back to orison
So is it better to mine quant in the Aaron Halo or on lyria?
anyone here interested in trying this one out? my prospector sadly isn't enough to handle this one
you're more likely to find it at all on Lyria, and it'll usually be in smaller chunks that are easier to mine, but it can be found in the Halo if you know how to look for it, but honestly, just go to pyro and get Stil/Ric, because they sell for almost as much as quant and are stable
I’ve never been to pyro so truthfully I don’t even know where to look or frankly how to get there
through the gateway wormhole. Check regolith.rocks for locations to go to. Be careful, the locations are active mission sites, maintain distance, be mindful of players, stay alert
I wish they'd patch the asgard so I can use it for stuff... right now it's just expensive hangar flair because of all the bugs it has...
and release the fortune to shops in game...
I was under the assumption that pyro is just a shithole and is just full if pirates lol
it's usually pretty empty
you can't get rep there, and the only people there are industrialists picking the bones of places carefully, or pvp'ers looking for a fight. Murderhobo's tend to stay away cuz of the pvp'ers, and industrialists tend to be safe because of the pvp'ers
Outside of the Halo, Pyro tends to be safer than Stanton
what is the process for selling gems to a mining facility? I put the gems into a container, sent it down the freight elevator, but it doesn't show up as an inventory in the terminal
go to a terminal and take them out of the box
the STOR-ALL boxes are known to have that bug
same with like the GEO/ROC bags
Can I take any ship through the wormhole?
pyro is my favorite area man, not even playing. most profitable area in the game.
Yes, but smaller ships tend to be somewhat... sway-y...
wym sway-y lmao
Larger ships are actually easier to control in the wormhole, small ones tend to swing around with very minor movement
Think of the ship as constantly being pushed to the edge of a centrifuge, and the centrifuge is the exact center of the wormhole. Large ships aren't as affected by that
I see.. Well when I get there where should I mine for those rocks? I checked that website but im smooth brain and didnt really see a place for locations
So, there are mining outposts, I think they're called like RAB- something. Some of them have higher chances for Stil/Ric. Those are the ones you want
are mining facilities supposed to have local inventory terminals somewhere? searching the one im at but if they have one, it is well hidden
I don't think so actually. You might have to sell in batches from your backpack
Or go to a city's admin terminal
ok i didnt realize i could open up a container inventory within the freight terminal. i was able to move the gems directly from the box into the local inventory
oh nice, well there you go
how much money can i earn an hour with scraping with the vulture?
and can it be rented ingame?
Vulture can not be rented
You can make anywhere from 150k to around 1mil an hour, but anything over 400k requires help
Alright thats a good amount of money if you solo it and thats too bad you cant rent it i dont feel like upgrading my prospector for it
yeah but requires i grind some more ores
ahh, fair
Do you know where it can be purchased?
before the wipe i had one but never tested it i bought the reclaimer so fast (there was soo much money to be had in reclaming ships 😮 3 millions was so little money for me hehe
damn loreville oh well its been a while but ill note it thank you for your time
no worries, have fun out there
didnt they add another ship for reclaiming as well?
Fortune
or am i mixing two games together
It's... not good..., but it's small, so it can fit in other ships sometimes
it's also not able to be bought right now, not in store, or in game
oh i have enough for it! yay! is there any upgrades for it ? Like you can upgrade the prospectors mining head?
There's alternative loadouts
It comes with 2 Cinch, 1 Abrade, and 1 tractor beam
it is generally advised to switch to 2 Abrade, and 2 tractor beam
put the abrades where the cinch are, and put the tractor beam where the abrade is
i will take a note of this and figure out where to buy it while im travleing to loreville
check finder.cstone.space
You gunna want a Sabir on that, and like 3-4 good lasers
Apologies I was interested in trying that but my friend couldnt get in that damn server
yeah but I am alone :(
yeah that's rough
Would've came in Mole, fully crewed also
just found another one that's a bit too much for me
@crisp raptor right next to the 110k mass one lmao
rip
Modules replaced, now trying it again
so, i was able to make 250k an hour in stanton doing an unverified on the vulture
it was fun, but the biggest time sink is figuring out where to sell shit
anyone got advice on selling? because orison is ass. solid 10 minutes on selling
Rock broke, finally.
you get less at Grim, and even less at like Lorville / A18 / NB, but they tend to sell faster since they aren't being swarmed by reclaimers full of shit
wdym?
Right now, people tend to solo reclaimers for unverified HH/Cats, scrape for 20-30 min, then munch and do another, and another, and another, until they get bored and want to sell. Since Orison not only has the best prices, but the unverifieds are at yela, they go to Orison, since they can dock there, and sell tons of shit
So, even in a vulture, you're competing with hundreds, if not thousands of SCU of RMC and CON being offloaded there around the clock, since all region servers share inventory
So even though like A18 for example, can take it, without problem most of the time, you get less due to the sell price there being 8,500, instead of 11k, but you don't have to wait and check every 5 minutes to sell 20 boxes of stuff, since there aren't 50 other players selling thousands of boxes of it there
TL:DR just because the best price is higher, it doesn't mean it's better to try to sell it for that
wait, you dont just instantly sell it?
You can, sometimes
But at Orison, the stock is almost always maxed
Because of dozens of reclaimers pumping it full to the brim around the clock
jesus, aight, what about going to sell in pyro?
You can
Just check your prices and stations
I use UEXCORP for that
Some people use SCTradeTools
yeah, looking at it rn, uexcorp
One day they will invent some sort of way to get information in your ship about trade. Some sort of connection of computers that buyers and sellers can go to
Maybe the Banu have something we could adapt
What does Wikelo use to offer his wares?
Maybe that will come with merchant vessels like the BMM and Privateer?
We can dream
Strange, i never had problems selling RMC at orison. I just dump the vulture's cargo into the warehouse then go back scraping. Keep doing it until i have 1-2m worth of stuff, then take the shuttle to tdd and sell everything at once.
You're probably getting lucky with either region or timezone/region. I tried Orison last night for example and got stuck waiting 20 minutes to sell everything, and I only had about 20 boxes
That or I'm getting really unlucky, idk
Might want to try a region where it's in the middle of the night
where do you sell CMAT on lorville i feel like im going mad
its not showing up in admin, its not showing up as local market value in TDD and I cannot get the guy in reclamationm to speak to me
I do not understand, i can allegedl sell 794scu here at 2.1k/pop
I have over 1k scu here
why is it not showing up in any of my inventories
Hello. What site is that?
Lorville CBD
Try it at the TDD terminals.
there is no TDD on lorville right?
I have over 1k scu in cmat sitting in loreville I havev no interest in ferrying all of it to a18 I'd rather just not get paid its literally not worth the 2ish mil
Yes there is. Take the tram to station with the big gold statue of old man hurston.
I used to sell on lorville all the time while ago
thats the CBD
where I am
where the terminal is
this terminal here
CBD
Once Pyro launched CM was taken out as a Comoddity item and sold at the TDDs since Pyro doesn't have TDDs.
what am I doing wrong?
and lorville has tmk never had a TDD, always just CBD.
Furthermore, my confusion lies with the fact ive sold cmat at the lorville CBD many many times in the past but this patch I cannot even get itt o show up on the left side of my terminal not even once
the CBD in lorville again tmk I can only find Commodity Terminals
I thought the 4 big cities had both types selling terminals sorry if I am wrong.
right
tyhe commodity shop
shows
that I can sell construction materials here at the CBD
however
no matter what I do
I cannot get the inventory to appear on the left side of the screen,
so I Cannot sell regardless.
Fantastic
well thats a phat QtD and I'll come back another patch to sell hopefully
Hey yall how do we figure out the max size hangar we can get at a certain station?
Like can C2s land anywhere? Or?
Clicking on a location on the star map, you can see the size of its hangars.
But there isn't a single station/city that doesn't have large hangars.
Ah- So Rats nest does have large hangers. I am guessing when you get like XL ships tho you might run into issues. Like the reclaimer
I hear you cant get a hangar for XL ships in stations...
Yep, only in some specific places
no issues selling when i loaded into the cargo bay too
Question regarding gadgets and mining stats:
Is -% or +% laser instability better>
?
-instability is better. Instability is the amount that the power oscillates up and down. 0% in theory would be completely steady
I just got a Vulture
"Let's go take it for a spin"
Undock from station - 15km away is a dead Polaris 🤑
Also, scraping large ship ramps is such a treat . . .
Do refinery orders still wipe with patches? Don't know if I should bother setting up any orders tonight
yes they do in my exp. I don't think the patch is dropping until late into the week if it is even this week - but I seriously know nothing, just a hunch. I would recommend just to keep on rolling - if you lose something, you can easily get more!
where’s a good place to mine? just bought myself a ROC
Depends on what you want to find more of. Any moon, Microtech, or Hurston, or just about any planet or moon in Pyro
well, ideally something I can make money from
is Quantanium something you can do with a ROC?
also, should I buy more bags for it?
No, you cannot mine Quant in a ROC. Probably the best thing you can mine with any regularity is going to be Feynmaline
alright, where’s a good place for that?
currently gonna be ferrying it with a Cutty Black
I wouldn't bother having more than 2 or 3 extra bags. You really should sell regularly instead of stockpiling to prevent losing an entire ship full of the stuff
do bags at least snap to the grid?
What’s the state of ROC mining rn? I just tried mining some rocks on Stanton and they didn’t break into any gems. Still need to only do it in Pyro?
They should work. What rocks were they? Feynmaline?
Some rocks have no gems in them for some reason, it seems to be random. If one rock in a patch is that way, the whole patch is that way, just find a different one
Ok thanks! It was a glac cluster. Had a feynmaline that worked fine earlier
wonder if a 4 SCU box would be overkill for Feyn mining
Does Terra Mills Farm just not work sometimes? My RCM box just vanished
Why Can't I sell my RCM in Orison? Terra Mills stole a box when it made one disappear. Anyone know why its not working?
Anyone have any tips for getting the HULL C to pickup from Everus? Works at other stations
on how many containers does the reclaimer start deleting them
It took me a couple of hours to fill 2 ROC bags which is 2.4scu so depends how long you wanna be out, you can just take spare bags. But I do recommend using an SCU box to transport the gems, especially if you mine in Pyro, I just leave my mining setup in Pyro and run the gems back
yeah, I didn’t realize how long it’d take to do this
Used to be over 100. Not sure if that's changed
When i'm orbiting a planet/moon, how do i determine which way is east/west on the surface?
wonder if I can fit an ATLS in the RAFT
it should be better than the built in tractor beam on the RAFT, right
In the airlock, yes
hopefully it makes moving 100+ 1 scu boxes easier
Maybe in 4.2 ATLS will snap on the grid due to cargo lift changes?
Thanks again, this works perfectly. No more mining in pitch black darkness 🙂
you know the RAFT has its own tracktor beam right? and its far better than others i've tried like the Taurus or C1
Yeah the raft tractor beam is great but atls is still much faster
But I think if you are doing medium sized contracts with 8 scu boxes it probably faster to not mess with the atls
Anything under that I'd prefer the atls
I still struggle with the awkwardness of the on ship tractor beams. I still have a lot of use for the maxlift
I've used the tractor on the Nomad, the Reliant Kore, C1, Taurus, Vulture now Raft
I prefer the raft the most of those. Having it off to the side is actually more useful
I personally dislike the ATLS as a cargo mover. I want finesse, control, and safety when moving literal tonnage around, not speed and force
The worst struggle is just the field of depth "am I getting the cargo all the way to the back?" It gets it on the grid but it wont be pretty
i hear quant is selling 200k per scu nowadays
could use a light back there to see it better or a small camera
Most of the finesse is taken out of it since boxes snap to the grid
Yeah I feel yah. Usually I got the box marked on the closest part of the grid and then solely use the scroll wheel to move it back
I heard somewhere that the Atls works best with eye trackers
I still don't want actual tons of materials moving at mach jesus for any reason around me
not on stores, but nowadays there is a high demand among players, check at #market-street
if you aren't knocking over your party/org members with giant containers and parts of ships.... are they even your friends?
Once you are in hit "z" to enter free look. Let's you look around without waiting for the mech to move
Didn’t know this. Wasn’t in demand. So I threw it in my cutty black and hauled it to Ashland and shat my pants selling it…. But sell it I did indeed 😎
Been watching a lot of videos on quant mining. Cannot figure out the best place for quant mining
any clues?
How does player to player trade work exactly? As far as i know there is no dedicated UI for that, so how do the involved parties make sure nobody is scammed?
Ask for 200k/scu, don't negotiate lower, it's solid sellers market rn. Will probably be 250k by end of the week and 300k next week at the rate it's going. Don't sell yourself short.
Meet in your hangar. Ask him to pay 1/2 first. Send 1/2 up. Let him send it back down. then have him pay other 1/2 and if he pays send 1/2 up, let him send down. You're done.
Don't fall for "I want to see the Quant first".. he'll shoot you and send your cargo down. Follow point 2 to the letter and you'll be fine.
^^
Thanks
Remember step 2. Best way to avoid scamming
Are you mining quant?
Yes
Any recommendations for good places?
Elguapo released a new video about that like 2 days ago
That's all i got 🙂
Monox or pyro 1 he said
What i do is just mine whatever, and be happy if i find quant
Are you a pyro settler?
its based on trust and reputation, at least on the Market of this server,
yesterday i wanted a P8-AR so i said "WTB P8-AR' on the #market-street
5 mins later i got a dm..
met in game, made a party..
he dropped the item in my hangar so i could pick it, i send the credits,
and business completed 👍
Started using my Hull C for the first time. I've seen people using it without much issues and some people hitting the same bug I am. I get inside the blue/green box and it says unable to process have to sit still etc, but my ship isn't moving. I've tried backing out, going back in, turning engines off, powering off, retracting spindles and redeploying them, even tried warping away and coming back. Has anyone else hit this issue and found a workaround aside from logging off and finding another server?
I watched a video on this, and the dude said that if it happens, just move up or down continuously, but stop before exiting the box and it should work. Also, make sure you are extended before you enter the box
I saw someone on Reddit saying to try moving, something about a thruster might be bugged or something. Tried that but couldnt get it to do anything different. and yeah I am deployed when I enter, but noticed that by reconfiguring inside the box, it causes the movement message to change to waiting for spindle deployment, but then it just sits there. Thought maybe it was just the servers are shit since they haven't done any server maintenance in a long time.
I will try the stop just before the end of the box and see if it works though.
if i’m grinding money with a bunch of rookie contracts, which means 1 scu boxes, then ATLS should be much better
yeah let me know how ti goes, im about to rent out a hullc and i kindawanna know if it works before i do
Won't be till later tonight, but I'll let you know regardless.
Any workaround for some of the contracted cargo randomly disappearing from the Hull C?
It loads fine, visually all there, but at the destination several hundred scu is just missing.
happened the same to me while carrying boxes on the RAF, couple boxes vanished, mission failed,
i blamed glitch on the RAFT's new grid
tried mission again on the Asgard, this time, all boxes arrived safe, mission complete.
I think that's life with hull c missions. I've done a ton of them and very rarely do I submit a full mission.
magnetic grids still need work to be safe
You're not magically autoloading with the raft are you?
nope i use the RAFT's tractor beam, its good, its learning curve is faster than the hauling bot
Ahh, yah...I really like the new raft update. Only issues I've had with the grid are overlapping boxes getting stuck on each other and the far front not actually sticking
that too, yeah
Right after the raft update I was high enough to do hull c missions, so now the raft just sits. :(
