Yeah I saw a few quant rocks today I wish I could have gotten
Both were like 20k mass I thought a sabir might help but nope
are their better gems in pyro or somthing
I don't know about gems, as I don't do a lot of Vehicle//Hand mining right now, but I know that ore wise, there are two ores in Pyro that are just as if not more expensive than Quant, and don't explode, so...
so cargo haulers how is the idris when it comes to hauling?
AFAIK the hangar does not have a cargo grid; the cargo bay is up an elevator and is only about 1k SCU.
so not fun loading it then
wish the ironclad would drop
I mean, I've seen people put 2k SCU of 32s in the hangar of a Polaris; the Idris hangar is gonna carry a lot, just off-grid.
oh that is nice
one more question how is the polaris with cargo?
Depends
It needs an XL hangar to use the cargo bay, which IIRC the grid holds like 1-1.5kish
So if you are hauling from e.g. Arccorp to Checkmate, then you're OK, but if you want to buy/sell at Hur-L1 you're hooped.
ok thank you for the response
I would assume that the Idris fits in an XL hangar too but I don't actually know that
It does, and it has 1,374 SCU of cargo space, unless it's the M-Variant which is a whole other hull
just to make sure, were there any changes to the mining head stats?
If I don’t send my cargo down the elevator and and leave the station where does the cargo ? I came back after leaving 1 scu at another station. Now all the rest have disappeared.
What would be the max mass of a rock one could crack with the Helix II, 2x Reiger-C3 and a Surge?
With a MOLE?
Is golem good? Or just dookie passing off as a starter ship?
I don't run a MOLE solo, so not sure
It's good at what it does, the trick is to use the tool for its intended task, and not try to make it do something it isn't good at. You want smaller, high value, generally stable rocks that you can take your time on.
No, prospector
1 mln cargo just exploded xD
what happens to an active module after its been used do you have to replace it or can you just reload at a station
It "destroys itself" removing itself from the slot. You'll need to purchase another one.
No
For mining ships, just repair at a space station and it's good to go
The module I mean, if your using stampede or surge
Unless you mean the small gadgets itself
When was that changed? I don't recall being able to do that
In which case yeah Soriel is right, you'll need to buy another
Are they meaning stampede and surge or just the optimax and other things?
Stampede/Surge/Lifeline
I don't recall being able to repair the charges on those
Oh then yeah, just repair at station, its what I do and it's repair them every time
Odd, I guess I got so used to not being able to do it I never questioned if it was added in
Same with bags now, just unlock ports, take them off. Toss into cargo elevator, repair and boom new free bags
That... sounds like it's still bugged and will need to be addressed eventually
I don't think it's a bug, it's always done that if you ever lost your bags, it's been a feature since before you could buy them
Right, but since you can buy them, you can presumably sell them, so duping an infinite amount of them sounds like a bug, not a feature. They likely just forgot to fix it the same way I forgot to check if modules could be repaired because for so long, they couldn't be
If I can't repair them I probably won't use them as I don't feel like travelling to a station halfway across stanton everytime I run out
Surges I mean
Prospector has size 1 lasers. It depends on rock resistance. If you lower it enough id guess around 40k , in best case. But its an estimated number.
You could even use 3xsurge or 2/1 surge stampede
If you really want to push the limits
Be careful tho, if you blow up youll get nothing
You can't sell bags, only buy them, and bags are reusable
Still makes no sense. If they're reusable, then that's new, since they were consumed before when refining. Also, why bother making them buyable if you can spawn in an infinite number of them intentionally?
The only logical reason is that you aren't supposed to be able to spawn in an infinite number of them.
Best spots for salvage in 4.1.1?
can argo pods be saved to appear on a claimed prospector once destroyed?
Maybe after alpha
Is doing a prospector build with double surge modules a bad idea
You can only really use one at at a time, and since you can repair them, there's not really a point. If you can't break a rock in 5 charges, it probably isn't getting broken
how do I remove the bags from my mole in space to transfer to my other ship
Afaik surge its the only module that always stack
At least till 4.1
Open ports first, L alt + k
No, the surge should stack. Its dangerous tho. Dont blow up
Yh I've learned that the hard way but with riegers I've been killed 3 times by rocks
dont they sell those bags at the Cargo and Refineries?
believe they do since several patches ago
They are expensive, getting them for free from the mole is much nicer
maybe... but equiping legaly bough bags is more easy, practical and less prone to bugs.
but oh well, everyone can do what they please.
If you repair there is a cost. I assume the cost to repair a broken Surge is about the same as buying one?
Just about. I believe if you have replacement components in that stations inventory it pulls them instead
You have to work that skill sir. Its a learning curve, youll handle it in no time
If your laser has too much power for the smaller pieces try increasing the distance.
yo guys i'm lookin to join a reclaimer crew if anybody is online
I I'm already fairly decent at keeping it in the green with 2 riegers and a helix and some of the optimal windows are paper thin so it shouldn't be too hard to adjust to surges.
Are there contracts for the Vulcan?
The Vulcan isn't flyable yet.
Thx. Is the loaner for the Vulcan the Starfarer?
I found some thread that says the Freelancer.
Correct, the page you linked is the up to date, correct information.
There's no specific contracts for refuelling, it's more a make your own content.
It would be useful supporting an org operation for example.
That said, as things stand fuel is plentiful in the verse right now so little opportunity arises to use this ship currently.
No reclaimer crews need anybody?
thanks
Anybody salvage a whole Idris yet? I'm curious what they're worth.
I am gunning for one.
It more about what the "COST" is to you the player - I recall a group of us salvaging all night - I no longer do salvage...
Not sure I understand that sentiment..?
I take it to mean it took so long / was so boring, that it wore on the friend group and caused tension?
If that's the case, then you are salvaging for profit most likely, and yes, that will get boring and tedious.
Some of us salvage because it is relaxing and fun. If I could chunk up an idris into 3-5 big parts, store the whole thing aboard a reclaimer, and then unload all of that, I'd gladly do it even solo just to see what the total is
Are the cargo grids still messed up or did the hotfix work?
Just played on a asian shard where people stated that raft and connie taurus are fixed SUPPOSEDLY.
in terms of cargo grids
When salvaging first got big 5 of us fractured 8 Hammerheads.
anyone has a hull C i can borrow lol
So what's the most reliable way to mine stuff at Hathor now? I've tried Geo and hand mining and there's no HUD and is just dependant on hearing
Is Pyro hauling missions worth it? Frpm Junior level it feels pretty low for the ammount of time you have to spend going to 3 different places, with minimal mission stacking possibilities ,-,.
Shall I just switch to stanton hauling 👀 ?
Stanton is hauling best spot, literally no one hauls in pyro
Havent played since before 4.0 but is it just me or did they severly up the price on Salvage Contracts?
yeah and since then they've reduced the yield as well as nerfing the price of components (to combat dupers) so they're barely worth doing. The best ones are the cover up (unverified tab) and just make sure you're done before the feds turn up, they pay you and you get the salvage, win win.
Yeah I figured since we spent 5h and barely made like 290k profit.
Kinda feels odd given how Bounty boys can still do million in an hour at times to make it so Salvage aint worth it.... again, but hey still fun
yeah they toned down salvage a little too much which is a shame
Any industry org leaderships can u contact me? Looking to make some partners within industry.
What magic do you have to do now to persist argo pods on prospector? I've tried replacing them, stored ship, changed components, saved changes, and after reclaim the misc pods were back
has anyone tried to use the Idris K laser for mining asteroids?
theoretically, you could modulate the strength with distance, so starting at 5 km and slowly closing
The patch done away with that it's an exploit.
👋 Hey, I haven't been able to make cargo runs the last few days. Has the cargo-grid offgrid mismatch already been hotfixed or is that still an issue?
Still broken
I hear the Hull A grid is fine if you want to do small jobs. Freight elevators are still offset and jank
Stuff just goes where it wants to lol
I've been away for a while, what is the best way to mine with the prospector? Tips for the Golem would be appreciated aswell.
Well, still no more commodity trading with my Raft then. GJ CIG, bringing a awesome major update out to the Raft only to then render it close to useless through a major cargo grid bug. lol. Classic SC stuff. 🤌
Shit happens when you have to push a patch out for a deadline
Hopefully we get a hotfix if not should be fixed in 4.2 it's critical enough (or 4.1.2) depends on how they name it
I understand the hot fix takes time to migrate around the servers. ????
If I remove ore bags from a mining ship that contain quantanium and but them in another ship will they still explode?
Haven’t tested it yet. Let us know how it goes
I would expect it to but you never know. It's probably something CIG didn't think about when bringing in this feature
Something like this would probably need both client and server hotfixes and possibly even maintenance because you couldn't be moving between DGS with cargo grids out of sync
The ones they roll out as servers die are normally just for crashes, performance, stuff like that.
what is the fortune like for salvage
where does one get some carinite?
You need to do the align amd mine sandbox activity there's a channel for it #iae-2955-hidden
Underwhelming
The Fortune is literally just a worse Vulture that looks sleeker
If it were priced at like 70$ or even 85$, it would be worth it, but for the same price as a Vulture, just get a Vulture
Very slow scraping due to one head and feels almost unbearable since scrape rates were reduced a couple of patches ago. I literally couldn't stand it and melted. The auto printing was kinda cool tho, not enough to offset the pain tho
My gripe was that the storage in the back was so inaccessible. If the elevator went down more, and the back storage was like, 50+ SCU, then fine, but it literally holds 1 more SCU than a Vulture and you gotta seriously fight it to get it
you also have to crouch or crawl to use the back elevator which is just bad feeling
I did a test a while back and here are my findings:
The Vulture is best for solo operations. I was able to fill up the cargo grid and hopper 10 minutes faster than the Fortune was able to do the same with the automatic feeder system. I did not bother EVA'ing to move the SCU to the back grid of the Fortune.
The Fortune, while inferior in production, affords the pilot more time in the seat, so it gets higher marks in the Safety category in case trouble came a knockin and you have to leave ASAP or get blown up.
The Fortune also takes up less space than a Vulture, so if you were wanting to put a salvage ship inside another ship, the Fortune may be better depending on your hangar size.
Side note: there will also be a starter salvage ship from RSI I believe, similar to how we just got the Golem for mining, so there may be a new contender for space and is probably cheaper.
So I was able to fully load my raft last night even with the offset issues. If your in the tractor beam turret, load left to right, and unload the same way and it’s much easier to do
ive been looking forward to that rsi salvage ship
hopefully it fits in the galaxy
Cargo grid is fixed on some servers, i've been on a few today and yesterday where it was working properly.
It would have to be pretty tiny. From what I can tell, the Cargo module supports 512SCU of cargo or a vehicle up to (and including) the RSI Ursa.
Ursa is 5.7m wide x 7.75m long x 3.5m high.
The Golem is 7m wide x 15.5m long x 5m high.
true
i dont think anyone knows how big its gonna be but probably not much bigger than the golem atleast in length
Oh derp, it has a hangar fitting an XXS ship...so it's gotta be snub sized
Snubs are similar in size
It'll be close, for sure. All you can do is wait and hope.
From the concept of the cargo module you wouldnt be able to fit it in there. It onyl has a small cargo elevator in the middle and it isnt very tall
is it only me when try to get 32scu from the warehouse on med hanger its say it overweight but it works from a large hanger warehouse
but i can unload 32scu boxes in med hanger
Yes
The quant timer is tracked at the bag level. If you take the bag off and just leave it in space, it will blow up too.
The timer only stops when the bags are stored. This can either be attached to a ship in storage or in your warehouse
^
how does hand mining work? im in klecher and cant mine stuff thats clearly an ore deposit
you need to scan the rocks and most rocks will already have been mined
how?
For Hand Mining, you want to pull the Pyro-Ryt, aim at a rock that is highlighted, and then wait about 5 seconds for the readout to update. Then start the laser with left click. Use Alt+Mousewheel to adjust the laser power.
Adjust in increments of 3-5 ticks, even though the readout will only update every 10 ticks. Hold the charge of the rock in the green zone, and a circle will appear on the lower left of the screen of the Pyro-Ryt. Once it fills, the rock breaks. Then scoop your rocks either by hand, or by using the Alt+Left Click function to auto scoop them. If using the latter, move the beam slowly, or it will throw gems everywhere.
thanks
yupyup
anyone mole mining ??
Probably have more luck in #looking-for-session
not really
To be fair, most people I'd imagine don't want to MOLE mine in a stranger's ship, so there's that, but also, you can kind of make more money solo than in a MOLE generally speaking
It's not just you. The medium hangar freight elevators are bugged when it comes to 32scu crates. Ever since CIG released the "Cargo Empires" patch cargo gameplay has been riddled with bugs.
can you make multiple sales at a time before delivery with hull C?
Did ROC mining change? I fractured a rock but no gems came out of it? I can seem to pick them up by hand directly from the broken rock, but not using extraction mode
they added a lot of different materials for rocs with 4.1
it no longer mines the same gems that hand mining does
so what gems/ores are the ROC used for now?
unfortunately, outside of hathor, or spending a lot of time triangulating, you aren't going to see hand mineables for a bit
or klescher
Love my vulture, been salvaging partial ships and it has a small cargo space to store components and weapons up to size 4. The lack of that extra space just knocks the Fortune out if the contest. And at 2.3m it's easy to buy in game
Instead of a starter salvage we need a medium sized ship between the vulture and reclaimed
Do we know if autoload will be staying in the game? Also has anyone used it recently? Is it functional
have not tried autoloading i pray it works as loading by your self is so broken
going to try now
there's currently a cargo grid bug on some servers, but the fix has already been rolled out. In another week or so, every server will have the fix. Autoloading kind of works sometimes, but usually it has a litany of its own bugs
the eu and aus can not load from med hanger
as far as I know, autoloading only works on the Hull C in a cargo area designed for it
To the best of my knowledge, no other ship has it enabled right now
No
The industry loops work too
and functionality was recently added for third person as well
granted, most of the focus right now is on FPS, and ship combat, since it's currently Invictus, but the other stuff is being worked on well, as evidenced by the cargo grid bug being worked on
I only use it for Hull C
I mean commodities I should say
Commodity autoloading just seems to delete commodities alot
yeah I'm doing hull c commodity trading
Right on
Has anyone been on a server with the fixed grids? Lol
Does anyone happen to know if 4.1.1. removed the ability to glitch the MOLE's ore capacity with mobing bags around and removing the pucks, etc?
Grids seem better than before the hotfix, now at least the containers don't overlap each other
Yes it did. You can no longer exploit bag stacking to achieve SCU amounts above what was intended.
32 for the Golem
32 (48) for the Prospector (with Mole Bags)
96 for the Mole.
I have, it worked great on a server last night, but I haven't tried since then
is it possible to find atls geos at hathor locations, or are allt he geos i've seen from pledges?
Pledges
how much can i make off golem in an hour?
depends on what you're mining but i think most of the attachments recommended for the prospector also fit on the golem
around 400k
Current event is ship to ship combat.
while you can pursue "money per hour" in industry loops, you'll have a lot more fun just doing the loop and not stressing about that. Money comes, money goes; if you stress about money, you'll forget to have fun
Just played for 2 hours and made -14 aUEC cuz I wandered around sight-seeing for the whole time and drank two CRUZ
This is a long term style game, and everything gets wiped eventually, just have fun
yo can anyone tell me about new rock mining what is moste profitible ore now
It's still quantanium
Unless you mean Carranite
From align and mine
Ah, I think it's either Carranite or Jaranite which I think are from align and mine
No, you can run vaughn missions to find drugs tho
It's cause everyone sells drugs to grim so it has low demand, you can sell the drugs to junk yards
Why are there elevators that can't hold 32 scu boxes??
Truly insane
Just have 160 scu of cargo stuck in a hold now
Miraculous
If you have a large ship retrieve that. Then you can go to the large hangar with your cargo and it should take 32's. If you don't have a large ship you're stuck with it for now.
@digital hatch you can try CRU L5 or L4 they both have no questions asked terminals and will take some drugs. Sorry can't recall if one or both take ETAM
Anyone want to party up and crew my MOLE with me? You get half, we can use Discord voice comms, and be proficient at breaking rocks.
Gotta meet up in Checkmate.
I feel like the "Member" hauling rep gain is basically 0
i've done like... 10? and i feel like i havent really gained any rep
is that normal?
It's just slower as go up through the ranks
Member takes at least 40 missions and they must be member rank, if you take junior or rookie the rep is so low it barely moves the bar
if this "time remaining" runs out for one of the cargo missions i wont be able to deliver it anymore?
I've never had one run out at least not that I've noticed lol
i think they're usually pretty lenient giving you like 30 mins to a hour to finish them up
alr ty
yeah im thinking about stacking the 6 extra small + 1 medium and am worried i wont finish in time XD
You can do it!
dont think i had a timer ever run out
why are server cues like 400+?
Because lots of people are trying to play? It's ilw, there is a free fly, and it's the weekend
Perfect combo for a little sc rest
Hey there! Do we have cheat sheets for the latest iteration of mining? Mostly looking for roc mining locations
What's the size of the argo ore pod if i want to put it on a cargo ship? Is it 2x2x2?
given that rmc is nerfed, would cinch + abrade yield kinda better results at the cost of time invested?
Is the mineables from the hathor caves available outside of that cave now?
afaik nah
is there a direct correlation between ship Mass in KG and The CMAT Value when salvaging it
hey so I did a bounty and it had a lot of cargo like medical supplys, processed food and even like iron, corundum and tungsten, where do I sell these things? and do I need to store my ship with the cargo on the cargo bay?
At Orison I am selling rmc and CM from the stored ship grid and non-grid spaces. There is a 1 to 2 minute wait time. The biggest problem is the bank does not have unlimited funds to buy all your cargo at once. One load i had to do like 8 log ins to new regions to get it all sold. Also off beat items like medical supplies and processed food may take even longer. Good luck.
where in orison, at the TDD? I was about to head to lorville and go to the TDD
It's at the station where the big Crusader tower is. Can't think of the name right now.
well imma just head to lorville real quick and see if its possible at the TDD
Ok let us know what happens.
I dont know why but it doesnt sell, I clicked sell and confirm at it said pending transfer but its not working
here this happens
Try the TDD at Lorville.
brother I am at lorville
Pretty sure all 4 main cities have both an admin and TDD selling areas.
Ask in global chat
Except for the NQA terminals and Grim Hex you almost have to.
So I need some help replacing a Stampede module in the field so I don't have to go back to a hanger and do it from there. The old module obviously self-ejected, and I have a replacement module in my inventory. I can't seem to drop it or carry it or otherwise place it on the ground to then use my tractor gun to mount it. Any suggestions on what to do?
Assuming this is for a golem, you need to go at least 15 meters away to drop it.
Stupid bug, but at least there is a workaround
Prospector and mole you can drop it inside the ship, but golem has no interior
Is roc mining worth it?
It was fine last time I did it before the new minerals
I imagine it's better now with the new minerals
Is Drake Golem "good" for mining or is it a bit kinda insuficiant ?
Alright I might buy one and try it out 🙂
It's entry level ship mining, you can't change the mining head on it so you are limited to what you can mine as far as I know
It's nice and relaxing regardless so enjoy :)
If you had to consider quality / price (pledge), would you say vulture is better than drake Golem ?
I know those are not serving the same purpose but considering their prices and how well they perform in their own roles
I'd say Vulture is probably easiest to pick up and learn even though it's almost 3x the $
Out of Vulture or Golem anyway
kk ty for your answer ! Cause rn I have a golem but I'm wondering if I might upgrade to a Vulture
While I have the golem, what is the best rocks I can mine with it to get some decent profit?
Also if it's impossible, does it mean "very very hard" or is it really impossible ?
It is really impossible but you can try getting really close to the rock (without crashing), using Gadgets or/and Mining Modules with a really potent Mining Laser for it. (Even then, it can still be impossible because sometimes you need more a bigger ship like the Mole or even being mined by more than 1 ship)
kk thanks !
Last question, is there any good mining spots on microtech and it's moons?
Red Monster Gaming on yt is a miner his top two moon spots are Clio and Calliope.
any Idras owner who is willing to sacrifice some parts?
want to put some component's for my reclaimer.
I know this is a little off topic-ish, but I'm sure most of you are UEX users, as well. I couldn't find an answer via google and I couldn't find any discord server or resource of UEX, either. Lately whenever I upload an image (marketplace product image, fleet ship image, etc.) it turns out just black after upload. Any idea why?
Google is failing me at the moment, so could someone here please tell me if a person can sell the large cambio srt canisters after I've filled them from salvaging ships i destroy? I already strip weapons from ships, just wondering if i can make a little money off salvaging the hull with cambio salvage gun.
Let me know if its possible please 🙂
salvaged weapons selling is not worth, they sell the weapons to you for thousands but will buy them for pennies
not sure about the canister selling, never tried hand salvage, did you tried at the refinnery?
you can, however keep the salvaged weapons you need for your own ships, look specially for any Ardor Attritions or NDB repeaters, those can even be sold to other players
Thanks for the info. That's too bad ship weapons don't go for much. Really trying to lean in to the space pirate/junker vibe.
as said, the Ardor and NDBs can be sold quite good to other players, check #market-street
Just keep in mind some ppl get 1 and dupe thr shit out of it, so if you are going for that i would personally focus on the salvage part. ( keep parts to upgrade your ships, and some spare on storage so they survive for the next patch)
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
anyone on i got a monster rock
how big
does anyone know why the hull C wont fully load a contract even after 2 tries i dont get all the crates?
Because bug and slow server.
then i'll just keep dropping them off as they load
500k a quest isnt that bad either
nice this bug is back
I was trying to mine in the caves yesterday, had the same
Yeah planet mining is still pyro only unfortunate
Anyone has a good guide for carinite mining? Are we able to do it solo?
Shot in the dark here, HDR?
Has anyone tried solo'ing the unverified salvage missions with the quantum marker update? Like SRV tow the ship out, use it as a marker, backspace, grab your salvager, and then do it?
I realize that the SRV can't quantum tow the ships, so this was the next best thing I could think of

Finally made enough to rebuild my vulture. Time to print money!
And then maybe a hauler or prospector next.
What attachments do I need on my roc and what is the best thing to mine?
Would it work to put emp or disruptors on a vulture to shut down shields of abandoned ships?
Is anyone successfully using a C2+Golem combo to do larger mining runs? I was thinking about Prospector + Polaris but then realized the Polaris has no access to freight elevators at any space station.
Yes
So the Golem/Polaris / Prospector/Polaris works, but you just have an extra step. Instead of going straight to a refinery, you go to a major port, dock, unload, and then put everything in a cargo vessel like the caterpillar, then go refine it.
This won't work with Quant for obvious reasons, but it does work
Also, the polaris setup works fine in Pyro
Technically yes. Disruptors unfortunately do a fraction of the damage to shields than lasers. They currently cause disruptor damage to components on unshielded hulls
It's a lot of trouble solo for less mining/hr. More efficient with a second person.
Obviously, but I play for fun, not $pH
Not a problem
I mean, technically, everything is more efficient with more people to a point, even combat
Yeah
There's another discord setting up a service to buy ore from miners in the field and serve up fresh ore bags.
I imagine stuff like that will become more common once basebuilding comes out and all of those "junk" ores will be needed in volume
It will also likely become commonplace when the Orion launches. Gonna need people to pick up full ore bags to shuffle off to refineries or have a fleet of Expanses/Arrastras nearby for in field refinement.
What is different in Pyro for that setup?
the refineries all have extra large hangars, so you can land, instead of using the docking ports
in Pyro anyway
Oh nice. Yeah I would prefer mining in Pyro anyway
Went to bed
Just picked up a vulture and am getting into the salvage loop. Everytime I go to a spot to sell RMC has no demand? Is there a reset timer or a site that keeps track of the current demand?
Also, anyone have any tips to be the most efficient?
Are you sure it was under "No demand" and not "Cannot sell", and that you were at the right terminal ?
pretty sure... I was at the commodities at the cellin shop
That's a popular place with quite low demand
dang. is it better to salvage in pyro then?
Grim hex
orison should buy your RMC at a good price
I'd recommend storing the crates and heading back out unless you're strapped for cash - the shuttle to the commodity shop takes forever
Maybe one laser, one disruptor
Is this rock possible to crack, even if i had multiple people on it with Helix II's? Like would the greenzone just be too small to practically crack it?
Youd need multiple moles but yeah you could do it
ok thanks
How do people use a polaris for mining/salvage?
park a vulture in the hangar and load up the cargo hold would be my guess
No, it's a mothership... you put a smaller ship in the mothership and use the mothership for cargo space
i do the same with my C1, park it near the asteroids, then come back with Vulture and swap cargo till the C1 is full or i get tired of the monotony...
Do large cargo missions exist? All I ever see are small, medium, or extra small. Do I need to be a certain rank to get them?
yeah usually you need to get your rank up to see them, i think they're usually meant for c2/hull c though
But it acts like a reclaimer
go to Seraphin Station, you will find, if you have the rep, 6 missions to deliver boxes to Orison's airport, they pay $50k each, so its a trip of $300k, on the airport you get 1 mission to return to the station to re-start the cycle, its a total of $345k in about 45 mins
sometimes an extra 50k mission shows up
Microtec also has this missions
need a ship with a minimun of 90 scus cargo 100+ prefferable
I got a raft
perfect!
RAFT's tractor beam is aswesom, i can fill up all the cargo in 15 mins or so
if you cant see the missions, try changing the server, someone else may be already doing them
How is the new raft?
I think it would be a fun ship to do the cargo contracts with
Even though I love the hull c
really good, the grid still has some clippings but its far better than before
Im happy that they finally made it good lol
It has always been a ship that I thought looked cool
In what way? Having more storage? Literally any large ship then? With so many better options than the nightmare that is a Reclaimer's cargo area?
In selling from a big ship
You salvage with the vulture but use the polaris to sell basically
Kinda making it into a reclaimer
I guess I'm confused because of the magnitude in difference between those two options is so great that the small similarities they share seem negligible by comparison.
572 1 SCU boxes of salvage scraped in the slowest way possible
vs
480 various size boxes that probably took you an hour to or two to get
Anyways, I just didn't understand lol
fat ass giant spider...
Using a mothership situation is more about like, taking a few months of gameplay to see if you can fill this sucker up to the max with expensive cargo that's gunna take 3 hours to unload alone, not including the 100+ hours it took to fill.
Using a reclaimer is like, this is my night of gaming, and there we go all done, 3 hours.
AH
I think I meant more in like single playthroughs
If you are just going out for a few hours and filling up the polaris it seems to play similarly to a Reclaimer
Is buying/selling worth it still?
I had the Reclaimer out 3 nights made 1.7 million.
if I could find a test subject willing to let me salvage the parts lol
according to Urkel though...It is possible
There are like 4 components that can be changed out. Check Erkul
Yeah. But can you psisically pull the out?
Use the tractor beam it's mixed if it comes out based on the ship.
Unlock the ports...
Anyone know what’s the best way to make money hauling? I’m a junior and am making 80K per trip how ever they are súper long single trips that do not fill my Taurus SCU capacity
Stack smaller contracts from city to station and other way.
This is the way
Ok what order is the vulture heads? 1122? 1212?
Why didn't they number them in config?
ABBA or ABAB, has changed a couple times since Vulture came out 🤷
Grr
I'm sure it's the two middle that'll be the default 2 tho
So put your trawlers there
How do you find them by the way?
I like it. Less surgical. Big area,
I might have to give it a go
Just less material from same area of course
The slowness of late took the fun away for me
I just prefer to scrape and move to next
Oknyeah 1221 works but some now it's alternating when active
Ie bottom left top right
Ah oknhad to switch off and on left right
They need to make a mfd
I use dual abrade, works wonders.
If the ATLS is 75,600 in game to buy... how much do we think the ATLS Geo will be eventually? we thinking more in line with the ROC at 103k? Or are they going to go higher due to the jumpjets? ROC-DS is around 146k but that has double capacity
Just made like 200k trading Osu Hides, But it took forever to find where to sell them.
this tool tells you where to sell anything:
https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer
What is better atm?
Trading, Mining, or Salvage?
I personally find Salvage more enjoyable but I haven't played in a while (got parts to build a better PC so I can catually play again lmao) so not sure how it is now.
If I'm honest the three trades are pretty well balanced in terms of overall profitably, there's obviously the financial risk of trading so you might consider the haulage missions to offset that. I'd suggest just see what you enjoy doing or mix it up a bit, the difference is probably more in skill or luck.
Mining has the longest lead time of the 3 due to refining time, but if you are mining regularly, then you'll have a backlog of refinery jobs chaining together for more consistent cash flow
I absolutely love Salvaging 🙂
Just wish there was a MOLE or similar sized Salvage vessel
Yeah something between the Vulture and Reclaimer would be nice
I'd make the vulture bigger capacity and bigger box creation size. That'd make it medium
honestly yeah, make it a bit wider or longer and i'll be happy
maybe some extra buffer room like 32scu instead of the 13scu the vulture buffer holds
Argo salvager pls
I think some gear lockers would be great too. Especially since (in the future) it might take several people to strip out all the good components from a disabled ship.
Salvage could be amazing if they handle it well. Cutting through bulkheads. Slicing out intact components. Dealing with radiation, debris, and other hazards during EVA to a disabled ship...
Of course first they would need to make a way to disable ships rather than just explodify the whole thing.
Emp
boarding sabotage (:
I might try putting a disruptor on the vulture
Oh yay, hangar destroyed my full vulture
Salvage lol
Maybe it'll makenit easier to disable power
Also one other question. I wasn't able to play when physical cargo and hangars was added.
Is it possible now to offload RMC into a storage and then go back out salvaging, store again, then use a dedicated cargo ship to haul all of it at once?
Yes just be sure to get it sold before a patch
Being able to haul 120 SCU would be a lot better than having to go PlanetSide every time the Vulture is filled...
I just store my RMC at Orison and take the shuttle over to sell after multiple trips
Good prices there
I don't think Pyro was added when I last played either 🤔
Does Pyro have any differences compared to Stanton in terms of what/how much salvage spawns?
Only spent a week or so in pyro recently but I have found the salvage missions underwhelming. Panels are still good apparently but I never liked them.
I’d recommend illegal salvage in Stanton, the legal mission fees eat way too much into your profit
Do yall grab gold from rocks? I've always avoided gold due to it always breaking into really bad chunks
How easy to load is the cargo bay of the Starlancer TAC? Will it actually fit 96 SCU?
Yea the Tar Pits missions are a good way to get a bigger ship to salvage. Also look for other ships to salvage. Finally insurance fraud can work also. I never do the panels am using the Reclaimer.
ARGO salvage, mole / raft size. Id buy it without blinking
thinking about it, its unfair that miners do have a ship of that size and Salvagers do not
so i agree, a salvaging mole variant would be a great addition to the fleet
maybe copying the model of the SRV?
Hey yall, I had a lotta reasources pre-patch
Where are they😂
Had like 70SCU of RMC...
Is it in the station I left it at? Or like... in My starting location?
Cargo is wiped with updates. It is not stored in the !LTP
What will I keep?
For any looted items, including those looted from corpses and loot crates, place them into a location-based inventory at a station or landing zone.
For any in-game purchased ships and vehicles that get into a destroyed state after use, get the ship back to a working state, retrieve it from the repair/claim, and then store it again.
Any items gained through pledges should be fine, however it doesn't hurt to ensure they are safely stored before hand.
What will I lose?
Ships rented with aUEC.
Stackable, consumable items such as food, ammo, etc.
Refinery jobs in progress.
Cargo boxes in storage or on ships.
Nooooouuuuuuuu
The pain
That hurts...
There goes probally like 2M in cargo😭
Good news is I no longer am in need of a ship to sell my stuff
But I did just get a Starfarer Gemini. Which uh- is kinda useless.
Ccu ladder to C2 lol
Grab CCUs, don't apply them until you can complete your chain, and don't get stuck with stuff you can't use/don't want.
Probally was good advice😂
But I figure its a better Starlancer MAX anyway so
With more guns😂
Now I pray the C2 comes for sale and not the A2 or M2...
They'll all be sold tomorrow, but WB or not, who knows
dumb question do quant ore bags explode while they are detatched?
If they aren't stored in your warehouse, yes.
Mining in the Argo Mole. filled up the ore pods. how do we jettison them and put on a fresh batch of bags?
Unlock all ports (either through keybind or interaction menu)
Tractor off current bags
Tractor on new bags
Optionally relock ports
we tried that. said we had 96 SCU available but it wasn't picking anything up
Any miners here that are experienced with mining gadgets?
Is scanning rocks bugged right now? went to Aarons Halo and only 1 signal could be scanned
then went to a moon and similar scenario
what'cha need?
When using a gadget, can you retrieve it after breaking a rock?
Is it a %chance that it breaks? Is it a 1 time use?
Also, is it advisable to use gadgets on cluster broken pieces or only the first initial rock break?
It depends on how the rock breaks. If you get lucky, the device isn't broken, but it has to do with getting a perfect break, and the fault line not being on the device
Depends on the device
"Fault line"?
a clustering device should not be used on a broken piece unless it's a bad spread. A resistance device would be a waste on most chunks by the same logic as they are a fraction of the size. Sometime, using a device to make the chunk more stable can be desirable, or even to add resistance for example if your laser is too strong
the lines along which the rock breaks
You won't know until it actually breaks
Patience in mining is rare, but worth it, as if you are careful and patient, you can usually recover the gadget
Ah so its completely RNG for how the cracks in the rock emerge
ye
So basically only the cluster gadget would be used in some cases lets say I get a cluster of 20 scu but 80% quartz and 20% riccite
Right, so in that case, you'd want a 60% cluster modifier from a gadget to prevent 8 pieces of 2-3%
shoot
If I overcharged a rock and it happens to break in the optimal window but there is still say a red overcharge of like 20% of the red meter
Will it badly break the rock?
Should I let the rock completely cool down until there is not a slight ounce of red?
Anytime
Do you know if the Optimax gadget is sold anywhere in Pyro? @past fractal
Check finder.cstone.space for prices, locations, and availabilities of of any item in the game
Tnx!
is hull c good for cargo hauling?
Does anyone know if I can swap modules on the fly on the golem? Like surges and stuff
You can but its tricky. The best way i could was removing the cargo pods and installing the modules from below the ship. Laser retracted
Idk if its the best way but its how i managed it.
Its but needs some bug workarounds
what are some good spots to mine at?
Last I heard it was very buggy
Daymar, Yela
how can i get my hands on Hadanite in the most efficient way? i have a geo and a ship i can transport it in
has the raft had its cargo expansion yet as wikis still say 96?
yup, its doubled noww
damn might have to invest then
Is piracy any fun? I've only been a good lawful citizen. (aside from when I accidentally get a crimestat)
Hello everyone, im looking to buy some quantanium (yes for that) does anyone here want to work out a deal to sell me all or part of 1200 scu, I will pay 38k per SCU for it
Not that long ago the whole world of ROC mining was turned on its head and Hadanite in particular is not found like it used to be. So I cannot speak to that gem. The new surface Gem people go after is Fenylmaline. It has a nice profit and is best mined in the Pyro system.
fair, but i wanna see how long it would take me to get 1scu of hadanite
(yes i hate myself)
hadanite you can find in caves now, the only one i remeber off the back of my hand is kudre ore (closed) that has a cave right next to it
Ok, well you asked for it lol!! Verse Guide has a good chart system for the caves.
Hey i just receantly returned to star citzen after a VERY long break, and im looking for a short update on what kind of minerals should i aim for in mining (i have a prospector)
as well as if anyone can give me a tip on what equiptment and tools to use for quantanium mining? (to give me a better chance)
The Red Monster Gaming channel has his 5 best sites to mine in both systems. Good stuff.
I take its a YT channel? i will check it out thanks
Yes it is...
Anyone know if ship components better than stock ones can be found in salvage contract ships?
something like a Redeemer could be good for military, just note some might not be easy to get to as they're inside/upstairs
I used to take the shield off but you need to blow up the ship, that said it's no longer S3 shield
Ok so it’s possible to find better parts in them. When I went to a scorpius last night its parts were the exact same as my stock scorpius so I didn’t know.
oh sorry I thought you mean better parts then you can buy in the shops, i.e military grade
the salvageable ships are just stock loadout
better to salvage abandoned player ships then you can snag nice upgrades like NDBs
Ah ok. So gotta find abandon ships with accessible component bays.
The prowler is often in salvage contracts, and has a S2 Stealth A power plant. You have to destroy the ship, but you can then extract the Power Plant. Also you can find S1 Stealth A power plants in Talons, but even though the Talon has functional component doors I think the power plant one may not be working, or I just couldn't figure out where to find it.
Unfortunately the Buccaneer, which comes stock w/ a JS-300 power plant, doesn't have physicalized components yet, so no way to get that one.
Ok. I was hoping to find some class B military stuff easily but seems I’ll have to go to Hathor or pyro CZ for that.
At least I can buy non military/stealth modules for my industry ships from shops
There's a handful of useful bits at the expo hall too that you can't usually buy
Ok so I’ll go for the QD and that one shield generator.
Is there a trick to easily swapping a full canister out for an empty one when salvaging with a multi tool?
At the moment, I’m going though:
- dragging the full canister out while in inventory view;
- press F plus right click;
- select Customize;
- select canister menu
- select an empty canister
I'm not sure where your searching but prior to 4.1.1 O was hitting the Yela asteroid belt and often found fields of 10-12 but the most prevalent were fields of 4.
I was at Arc L1
Felt lower spawn rate to me but then again maybe it was just bad luck on my end
I assume all the regular mining attachments fit on the geo? If not please tell me
I think they do, but the only ones that are useful are the Focus III's
It has more than enough power, can't pick up inert material, and if you're hot-popping rocks with it, you're doing it wrong anyways
What do you guys think of Connie Taurus vs Starlancer MAX vs MSR?
can someone tell me what im doing wrong here? got helix laser and cant crack a 21k deposite? :S
The max has the ability to carry a ground vehicle in addition to its payload or carry additional cargo off grid to allow up to 300scu capacity. It's the slowest of the three and is possibly the ship's biggest issue.
The constellation is better equipped (weapons) and has a very good tractor beam it's also. This is probably the most favoured ship in mid cargo.
MSR, not really comparable. It's a nice ship but suffers from its single entry and a lot of wasted space. But hey, you can play chess.
Yeah I love the look of the MSR but it's so meh
I guess I will hold onto my max xP
Thanks for the input. I actually do like my Max a lot. Just wish it had more shield. I don't really feel the Tac for that price
And once you get the hang of the side loading cargo it's very handy
you always have the Corsair
but i do have a Taurus. for cargo running that tractor beam is gold 😄
I know being a filthy rat scav isn't exactly a profession, but what's the best small stealth ship that can still fit cargo? was thinking a 315p
I have a Razor EX but that can only fit carryable items in its inventory. I'm wanting a place to put components
Active modules are not turned on, and you're significantly farther than optimal distance. For breaking this you'd need sth like 5.5k laser power. Helix has ~3100 base, so you'd need two active Brandts simultaneously.
how did you calculate that? 😮 also isnt the perfect distance the green area up there?
I take it its mostly brandts i will be using then
and should only equip those
I'd suggest Rieger C3, it gives constant bonus, so you don't have to turn it on and try to break the rock before you run out of charges. The formula for max rock mass breaking is roughly 5xlaser power x (1 - resistance %)
There's a number in the middle of the green area, indicating the optimal distance - 15 meters, you're at 25
Man I need to get back into mining. I have been doing hauling missions as I have found that a more profitable gameplay loop
Thank you so much.
Shouldnt the Prospector have a gimbal on the mining laser? It did last time i played :S
and if i remember correctly the Rieger (passive modules) stacks right? so i can have two of them
Where is that? I only see the 25 on the screenshot.
If you want to stick with active modules, Brandt adds resistance, which is kind of silly for something that also adds mining power IMO (the amount of resistance added doesn't entirely negate the added power, but it does reduce the overall effect). Would recommend Surge or Stampede instead. Active modules can be easily swapped out/replaced in field on a prospector.
If you want to go with Passives, yes you can stack 2 Reiger-C3s
thanks do you happen to know the answer to my Gimbal question for the prospector (i could swear it use to have that)
Are mining modules a must? I have been mining on my prospector without them forever.
Last time i played (especially with the mining part) i was quan mining every day and now it just seems impossible xD (but to be fair i JUST returned after like a years break)
I am not sure with regards to gimbals on the prospector. Sorry. Haven't used it in a while and wasn't aware it could gimbal in the past
Not required by any means, but gadgets and modules can vastly effect what you can mine.
thats okay, Its just strange but i guess it dont really need it anymore
ill go with the rieger c3 modules (if i can find any)
Regolith.rocks has a section under mining loadouts that lists all sell locations for gadgets, modules, and lasers
Not sure the place for this but does anyone know for Wikelo If I can just bring like 700 script to him and he'll give me the favors accordingly? or do I have to drop 50 script individually?
Ok maybe that help me get more into mining as I swear there are so many large rocks I find I can’t break in my prospector even with a helix head.
will be there for a min then
Especially frustrating because the contract is for a random location of the 3, so you have to accept and abandon until it gives you the correct location
Can I stay in the one location?
And just keep abandoning it till it gets there
So I don't have to leave
yes you can.
Great, thx!
I really hope they bring back the box courier missions at some point
The funny thing is you can abandon and still get the same contract 6 more tines lol. What I do now is check whenever I login of there's a mission to Yela I go over and do it lol
They really need to fix calling vehicles. Loading is such a chore
Especially when hangars eat your ships half the time
I've not seen a ship eaten by a hangar since 4.1.1 thankfully
Anyone know if there are sweet spots on rocks when mining them? For example should I be moving my laser around to find a sweet spot on a rock or is it not a thing?
Never use the main ASOPs if you can avoid them. Always call ships from your hanagr and they should be fine.
If you don't have a hangar of the appropriate size yet, use the main ASOP to call a ship of the right size and then immediately store it.
Yeah that's what I mean. They really need to add the garage
Call ship, get hangar, store, call Vehicles, move off call ship, load vehicle.
It's not a thing
oh! got it. I misunderstood. Ya Hangars just disappearing stuff when you are trying to load in vehicles to another is a pain. If it fits in the freight elevator, thats usually a good place to store it while you call up the ship you are storing the vehicle in.
help. my gladius is overweight
what is a good trading route
i just now did medical suplies from terra to magnus but i cant sell everything at once so now im stuck a long time here
(from sctools)
Any mole loadout recommendations for a crew of 2?
yeah thats an issue with all loops, u can check on UEX corp but its most likely not up2date
when i wanna get rid of salvage i've having a fun time sitting at terminals for hours
what would be next best thing to do then ?
cargo missions. u will gain rep with covalex and get increasing rewards over time
k thx
Could use some advice. Am a current C1 pilot and am enjoying hauling... but im finding myself frustrated by how small the cargo capacity is. 64 by default and ~110 if I have a lot of containers crammed in after with the ship mounted tractor.
Am wondering what a good next ship is without going too expensive.
As Zorgh said the Raft is fantastic and can be rented
@spare cloudi tried but im only using c3 brandit and stampede 😦
Ah yeah, need 2xRieger-C3 + Surge or Rieger-C3 + Surge + Stampede
And Sabir too ofc
2x Rieger C3 + Surge and Sabir should do it
W
Sabir is a must have when you're going after monster rocks
Is the Hull C cooked or what? I just got it and cant complete a single series of Member Rank Hauls...
are commodity quantities shared between shards...?
Yes
nobody will tell you truly profitable trading routes, as they are valuable for many reasons, one of them you ve stated in your message already
explore your own routes, note down commodity prices, demands etc.
you can somewhat rely on UEX but keep in mind that the data there is only player-driven, so it can be very often outdated
hey guys, i got a MOLE and decked it out(i think), but im not sure what head to use for what.. i got impact/helix/hofstede
and any other mining tips would be welcome, i just got into this! 😅
You use 3 diferent heads. Helix for main, normally. Have a look on YT, and from there you can work out what works for you.
But gadgets are a must!
is lack of gadget use the reason i cant mine half the rocks?
Depends on your setups. But using gadgets makes it easier and makes bigger rocks possible
Keep in mind some rocks will still say impossiblr
But with instability you can do them
If its high enough instability ofc
Trial and test at the end of the day
yea i guess just trial and error, i tried to put gadgets on the rocks a few times and i just cant get it to work
I normally just 0 everything
And raise 1 at the time
There are really good guides on both. Mole loudouts and guides
On yt
Look for mole solo loadout on YT. I used that as a base for what I currently run.
is this a "new" bug? i cracked one rock then the next one i cant see the green and red target on the bar :S
its on all the rocks
that rock is so small you can straight up extract it
just beware you're getting 1/3 inert on that
hmmm I tried multiple some of them blew up without showing it xD Lolz not once did i think about it might be cracked already (and yeah that one was just an example) blew the other one up
yeah the mass is so low you don't need to break it down
i must be tired since i didnt see that xD
This is what I use for my solo MOLE.
I replaced the Starboard turret with Impact + 3x[FLTR-XL], better at filtering Inert materials.
And the Hofstede has Focus modules and not Focus III, so power is as low as it can for smaller rocks.
Have the updated pic on my PC which I won't see for an other 10d
What's everyone mining loadouts for prospector? I usually go Helix 1, Stampede(I'm constantly finding high instability rocks over high resist ones), and a reiger c3, using a boremax for high insta rocks, sabir for high resistance, and opti for cluster
That's about what everyone does. Rieger-C3 + Surge instead for many.
If you're going after gold, you will find a lot of high instability rocks. Gold is a bitch ore, Bexalite for the win
hate it when you load a freight elevator then as soon as you touch the panel it resets and deletes all your cargo 😦
I think I preferred it when some of them were straight up broken, at least you knew where you were with them 😄
Okay i just did some mining, and im trying to estimate how much money i get from them (so i have a baseline) how the heck do i calculate the yield into scu? (and what is a cSCU)
Just as an example here (trying to get an idea of prices )
c stands for centi, same thing as every unit.
100 cSCU make a SCU
oh okay so there is no straight way to figure out how much 934 unites of Bexalite is in SCU when its refining
Yes there is, divide the yield by 100.
oh so 934 bex is just 9 scu so i would multiply the price of bex with 9 and i have the result
thanks
! helped A LOT
and its soooo satisfying
Last question, i havent ran across quantanium, where do you find that these days?
And always rounded up, no matter how small the residue is.
Pretty much everywhere, but it's rare. Not as rare as stileron or riccite (that's only on some Pyro locations), but in general your chance to find quant is about 1/10 of finding T1 material (tara, bex or gold)
Thank you do you know if you can put mole bags on the prospector?
Yes, but they don't persist when you reclaim ship.
was picking up some surge at Hur l1 and saw wi could buy the bags
For an uninterrupted mining session it's no problem to switch the bags for Argo ones to get 48 SCU capacity
alright so as long as i dont destroy it thanks!
whats the current best load out for mole mining
There's a post from 9am this morning that might help, scroll up.
how do i detach the bags from my prospector so i can add the mole bags?
Can all ships with external cargo use the cargo dock facilities at stations or is it just the Hull C? I’m thinking of the Hull A and the Raft.
Only the hull c currently
Press alt+k to unlock them and then use a tractor beam to remove them
Thanks ! was a bit hard to place the module but it worked out in the end
what does focusing do when scanning?
o7 all complete mining noob never once even stepped foot in a prospector but wikelo missions got me needing to mine for quant, grabbed myself a prospector any tips for anything, locations, mining heads, etc etc
Can someone help me out? I just got my first ship bought in-game, the Vulture. I want to make it as efficient as possible. What upgrades should I get in components? Also, is there any way to up the amount of rcm it fits in the internal storage, from 13?
buy abrade modules for the scraping beam
not on grid but if you play some off grid tetris you can fit about 26 + 13 scu in buffer
Yeah check the pins for how to fill in 38 (39 painfully) SCUs
40 if youre really good with it :D
Yeah but it's even more painful and useless given the time it can take and risk it creates
12 on grid, 12 off grid, 1 on belt and one above that, on waiting to be ejected and 13 in the depot
that totals 40
Question: Do any of the active modules stack on top of the passive modules for the Golem? Or do I have to swap them out?
IE: Stampede and Surge
They use the same slots. You can't have two on one slot
Am I able to attach surge modules in the field?
Yeah those 2 stack
Yes alt-k unlocks the slots, and you have to manually leave your ship with a tractor beam and physically remove the mod from the head and put a new one on
The golem is a pain to do this on.
Ok so they dont stack
Right Alt + K specifically
I was under the impression that I could fit a surge or stampede on TOP of the rieger module
Left Alt + K switches configurations (unfold wings, spindles,...)
Nope
No they stack
As I said
Your talking the mods for the laser. Which you can put 2 on.
If you put the passive power boost mod and a active boost mod those stack
I beliebe
All stats stack for everything you can equip.
But you can't stack one module on top of an other on the same slot.
Unless I am missing reading the 173st7in
Yeah that's correct.
Perfect
Another question, what does the stat Extraction power really do?
Does it mean extraction rate or it extracts more or less of mats?
K perfect thanks guys o7
Fuck.. I slammed into a rock and blew my ship upon impact, will the unrefined Quantanium I had in my bags be there to collect or did it blow away with it?
i think if the bags survived you have roughly 25? minutes to grab them if they had unrefined quantanium in them, i think it used to be 10 mins before unrefined quantanium blew up
This, but most likely it blew up with the ship. Quant is very sensitive
Thx!
Did anyone notice they finally fixed shipnselection when selling?
No more guessing which line
I have a raft full of argo ore pods, how do i remove those that aren't at the end of the grid? I tried pulling in every direction but it seems like the hitbox is just too big.
Do i have to remove all the others to get to the ones in the middle, or is there a trick to do it?
Some cargo hitboxes do trap other boxes so yeah, sometimes you have to start at the end. Some ships have grids that get the larger hitbox totally stuck as well like the Starlancer Max, I wish they'd reduce the hitbox slightly. Sounds like ore pods have a similar issue then
They do.
Which means parking a raft with pods and returning to it with a mole is more trouble than it's worth.
I'd have to play space tetris every time i want to replace the full pods with empties, removing all the pods from the raft and having them just float about while i figure out what goes where.
Or maybe just have 16 pods on the raft instead of 24, that way i might have enough room to remove them.
Are there any specific locations to find more Quantanium?
How do you tell if a ship is abandoned now for salvaging purposes?
My friend was telling me there was a passenger tab on the MFD when you scan, but I only saw Info Parts and Cargo
would any passengers appear under one of those?
Passengers appear under cargo
it's up to you if the cut is worth it, but you could also hire someone to deliver bags and swap bags for you
I just don't see what i would gain by doing that. Moving the bags around is not significantly faster than going to a station and starting a refinery order.
do a lot of people solo mine on the mole or is it just not worth the effort?
90% of Mole owners do it solo, unless they belong to an active mining org...
there are builds for solo and lots of YT tutorials, look for ElGuapo vids

Did anyone test starfarer refuel this patch? I cant make it work
as far as i know, refueling is a feature not yet implemented in game, true a few ships do have fuel ports, but they are merely decorative atm
Refueling is implemented, Starfarer has been able to for years, but it's always been highly unreliable
Is selling RMC at New Babbage any different than anywhere else?
yeah, you will be losing money, other places pay a lot more, go to Orison instead
Appreciate that thanks ! First full haul.
use this tool to know where to sell anything

I tried to, and went to "Terra" something, and I couldn't get it to work.
because the eleveator? it sometimes malfunction...
those cases you just bed-log and server hop
Dont you lose your cargo if you hop servers?
nope, but to be safer do it in a station with your ship and cargo stored down
my advise: set your home base at CRU-L1 or L2, you have the asteroids just out the station, and the selling place at the central planet: Orison, if that fails you can also sell at Grim Hex
On avg. How much do you think you haul an hour with something like the Vulture (if you happen to know). I also appreciate the responses.
on my runs, with the lovely Vulture, i fill it up to 39 scus, that takes about 45 mins or even 1 hour depending on luck and server performance
then go sell at best place
so, $430k per run
here: the order i use to stack the boxes
So went I went to Terra it offered to take it off my ship and then never did.
25 boxes on the cargo plus 13 on the printer
ahhh
nope, there is a cargo elevator, you need to manually put the boxes on the elevator, and call it down, check all boxes are on your local inventory
then go to the building and use the console to sell, the selling console is on a different building
I don't know how you even get 22 into place, isn't that where you have to stand? won't that put you next to the ladder, and won't the door close on you?
I generally get about 36-37SCU, so only a tiny bit less really
the last 3 boxes are a bit hard, but patience and practice are the key
IS Terra an amistice zone?
A soft one yes, like every station in Stanton
Ah yes, there's two Terra
Gateway is soft AZ.
Other is hard.
Personally, I am an ARCL2 fanboy - but I am also a Prospector miner, thsi allows me easy access to mine & refine - then off to Orison to sell...
no, the door is just behing the Nº22, thats where you stand, need to pull the boxes as far to the ship's out door as you can, also to the left side so you can zoom in and click the printer control
Why does it say this
cuz you sold them before putting the boxes on the elevator
Was that a mistake?
not a terrible one but prone to bugs and cargo lose
depending where you are scraping and where you are selling, I question the aUEC per minute value of those 3 boxes vs a fast/easy 36 SCU
Let's say for the sake of discussion that those last 3 SCU boxes cost 30sec each
36SCU x 13 trips = 468SCU
39SCU x 12 trips = 468SCU
Let's assume that the seconds/SCU to print/tractor to cargo lift is equally distributed; this is a negligible difference between the two methods.
The 39SCU method takes an extra 90sec per run to get those last 3 boxes in position according to our above assumption. Over 12 trips that's 1080sec or 18mins of lost time managing those boxes.
Therefore, as long as salvage location -> station -> salvage location is less than a 18min round trip, you are faster with 36SCU per load.
Maybe my 30sec per box for the last 3 is overkill, let's say it's 15sec extra time for the difficulty factor. Now you have to beat 4.5min from salvage site to station.
Including the time it takes to get landed with your ass right up to the cargovator, this is probably about equal for if you're operating out of Starlight Station or Gaslight.
If you're scraping in the Aaron Halo and selling at Orison TDD, then it's definitely going to be worth doing the 39SCU method because that's a longer trip... but then one could argue that the time spent on the tram & running to the TDD sufficiently lowers the aUEC/min such that you should probably be operating out of Gaslight anyway.
However
All the cost optimisation in the world doesn't cover for the fact that if you are satisfied by fitting 39SCU into your vulture then just do it because this is a video game and you are meant to be having fun
bst to pull the boxes on the evator and call it down
When I called it down thats when the message appeared. Maybe it was because I tried to make an order earlier.
how does one zoom in to click the printer controls?
F + mouse wheel
38 is fairly easy, 39 is where the pain starts IMO
That's where I draw the line
gotta had pushed the left most boxes as far from the entrace as you can, also to the left wall
The detailed step by step guide in pinned messages is really good
It's not the money maker I had hoped it would be but its not terrible. I had hoped it would make close to the money Bounty Hunting does on Pyro. Too many buggy hauls led me to buying a Vulture for Salavage. No regrets, but I'll see how it goes over time. Thanks again for all the help!
oh shit, I coulda got... one more box like 3 times.
Yeah nah I have the boxes jiggle themselves into my way sufficiently frequently than I am satisfied at anywhere from 35-37.; if I wanna grind aUEC I'm going to run HRTs/VHRTs in Pyro.
But I've stopped wondering how to stack boxes in the Vulture, and more thinking about when to stop stacking boxes to unload in the Polaris, do I do 13+13 or do I go all the way to 25+13 before I unload in the Polaris
if you placed the boxes well enough, the Nº39 is just Zoom and click cuz that last box stays on the printer's exit plate
Gotta min max the aUEC with solo Polaris + Vulture
Child labour
Have a kid, don't give them a cut of the sales, get them to ferry 1SCU boxes straight out the ass of the Vulture.
Kid moves Polaris close to Vulture, and while you're scraping a cluster of plates get them to continuously print boxes and EVA them to the Polaris
Where can I pledge child ?
Is there any information on if the bases will be a persistent thing? Or will they load in if a player is online?
Player-owned bases are sufficiently far off that nothing they've said should be taken as anything other than aspirational.
True lol
Hey any tips on finding Quantanium?
Is it easier to find some on Stanton as opposed to pyro?
a friend of mine said he had more luck on Quantanium at Pyro, around Bloom
Hey yall how do I open the back cargo door of the C2? For some reason mine will not open. When I go up to the button / keypad it says its locked... also... it wont open even if I hit open exterior in the ships pilot seat
Also nother question... for the ARGO ATLS, can you control the distance of the tractor beam like you can for every other beam ig?
For some reason mine is only letting me pull things to like 10' of me or throw objects...
Now I am no expert but that doesn't seem very good for loading stuff up...
Agreed, but its still here in stanton! try either lyria or wala also found over on daymar - hot or cold dress appropriately and bring a gadget (prospector mining) just in case! Pyro is way better (easier to find) though!
I've had some weird stuff with all tractor beams lately - just not working as expected! I know this isnt necessarily a helpful post - maybe just letting you know it aint just you!
Got it, so all tractor beams might be messed up😂
Anyone know if the C2s rear door can be unlocked?
Can't open the dam thing
Sometimes on the button there is a small icon with a lock on it. It's in the lit up part below the large rectangle with "Open" in it.
Also in options>keybindings>advanced>vehicles-cockpit there are options to Toggle lock/unlock doors as well as separte bindings for lock and unlock. It might pay to check there to see if a key is bound and you hit it accidentally.
Ooops also meant to say there is definitely a lock icon on the outside rear ramp button
Is there a hotkey to de activate my mining modules while in ship?
How to lock the ports on a Prospector?
right alt + k
So how should I run salvages? I have been essentially been ripping off everything on the ship but it fills the Vulture very quickly.
mole is not putting ore into new saddle bags, after swap??? We put on new bags >> it shows 96scu >> but when we suck up ore nothing goes into ore bags
any tips?
However you feel like. You could min/max UEC, or get a buddy with cargo space to help out, or whatever
That's a new one.
Not completely sure how to min/max.
Add it to the issue council, get the word out @quasi sandal
Thank you much. I just saw it had a lock button directly below the open close button. It's on both doors as well
Thanks for the help
That was a hard button to find😅
What's the goal with the salvage?
Also God dam, the ATLS is janky lol.
Just making cash, and possibly a chance at rarer cargo drops.
For some reason mine cant find items on a cargo grid😂
I can hope out and move everything off grid and kinda works
But then the grid doesn't always work either😂
Following along bounties or Vaughn missions or salvage contracts in Pyro would spawn more interesting cargo. For credits in a Vulture or Fortune, stick to RMC. You could get someone like me to help out for a fee but you more than double your uptime if you have a guy selling your RMC for you @red kelp
Oooh alright, I'm currently in Stanton so I might not be able to make the distance.
Anything I can do better in Stanton for salvaging specifically or is it mainly Pyro?
You can always do the salvage missoes and farm the rep
But for big bucks do the unverified salvage missons
Just keep in mind that there is a time limit for the unverified missons
Would I need to gain more rep to unlock the unverified missions?
if you want, i can jump in vc and help out if you want to raise cash
If possible yeah, I'm still learning the ropes during Invictus.
join salvage tips vc at the bottom @red kelp
No, just go around yela moon. And change the contracts to unverified. You might need to do a couple to get the hammerhead contract
Anyone else just hate using the caterpillar for cargo these days? The tractor beam on the ship has awful visibility, and the lowering cargo bay doors really don't do much for me as far as assisting with loading cargo. Just feels really cumbersome to use, even though I love the ship so much.
I used to do that with a friend that had one. So I feel you. Felt worse after griding the hauling rep with a taurus and its perfect tractor beam.
anyone wanna tag along for pyro MOLE mining? you will be on HOLSTEAD
Yap, been cheking some yt videos, but in my case when docking the " thirsty " ship, it suddenly teleports away
Ill test tonight again just in case its a server issue
Is there a limit of ore refine orders you can have at a station at any given time?
If there is, it's extremely high
What's a good kit to mine quant and what's a good location
The usual Helix + RiegerC3/Surge/Stampede/Sabir does the job for Quant.
Check regolith.rocks graphs for where to find it
Will collecting a refinery order spawn 32 scu crates on my ship? I've heard medium cargo lifts are bugged and can't take 32 scu crates, so i wanna make sure i get no bigger than 16 scu crates.
It'll spawn the largest containers it can.
If you got more than 32 SCUs of one ore and your ship can take 32SCUs container, you'll get one.
Is it better to scrape Debris or Ships or does it even matter?
The coating takes longer, but pays more. Breaking it down it's quicker but pays less per scu.
So if you have a big ship ( reclaimer) you can break it down and will be worth it as you can pick up most ship pieces.
Is there a trick to finding quantanium? I have been almost everywhere and found none
The respawn its very low everywhere
In general it makes more sense to focus on T1 minerals (Tara, Bex, Gold), and if you happen to find Quant, treat it as a nice bonus. Selectively looking for it brings just frustration.
This is the way!
Yap
I hope they add charges to make blowing up ships a bit easier sometime.
Doubt it, they want to make fights last longer so things like engineering can be used to keep you in the fight, etc. The goal is for ships not to get blown up just be inoperable
Probably more of a discussion for #flight-combat-racing unless you specifically mean industrial ships. Some are rather tanky, I downed shields on an NPC MOLE and hit it with 20x S2 missiles and it still didn't die lol
Npc ships have boosted HP dont they?
No
yeah the OLP/align and mine event is still only way to get caranite though now you can get wikelo favours for scrips
shouldnt i be able to crack this with the helix 1 ? :S also does lower resistance makes it so i can crack higher mass rocks?
scrips? what are scrips
scrips are like little badges you get for combat, you can either get reward 30 scrips doing the hunt the polaris mission or take some missions with ace pilots to take their helmet and the scrips in their inventory
alr ty
definately NOT saying that - just saying that I have had some weird things happen. In fact let me clarify. Moving a ROC around the other night I couldn't rotate it, and could only move my character around to get it to rotate. Then for some reason, it all started working again so I can't say there is a bug and I couldn't report because I couldn't duplicate the problem.
That's hella tough for a Prospector, tho with a Sabir + your two modules, you may be able to do it.
Your active modules aren't taken into account to say "impossible" or something else, so you'll have to try and see.
I cant quite figure out my max and such :S its so ahrd to figure out what rocks i can and not
reverse landing for a cargo pickup lol - proper truck driver!
I still think that won't work even with a sabir gadget on it
i just tried with my two modules and a sabir it didnt even scratch it
I think a 19k rock is the biggest I've cracked - but would be interesting to see bigger done and some video proof to show all the numbers
Yeah, I wasn't very hopeful about this one
I feel a little like they ruined mining with a prospector its so hard to find stuff to crack (it migh just be my colored opinion)
I would say mining scales better.
As a small solo ship, it is not meant to go after monster rocks
It might just be me not understanding my new ATLS platform. But regardless holy cow... I have a hate love relationship with the ATLS atm.
It's just so flaky when it works its really nice, but when it doesn't its a piece of junk.
So, last night I couldn't get it to latch onto crates on a grid, I had to step out of the ATLS and use a Maxlift to take them off grid and then it could pick them up
try around the ice and snow areas (everywhere) on Lyria - I prefer to go down close to any POI and start scanning. You will hit Quant but I wouldn't focus on that as the timer starts - instead focus on taranite, and of course upgrade your bags to mole bags. You will find that it's still a great way to make money and pass the time out in the verse. I think also, that when they bring in weather and more fauna, it will get alot more interesting as well.
And then sometimes the ATLS couldn't be used to place crates on a grid at all
I have to say I have never been a fan of the ATLAS
It feels really wierd not having to do anything to move crates
Would like like a C1 tractor beam kinda but tbh for moving boxes it is a nice feature. It's very fast when it works
But like it really hates stacking crates to... so
this dosnt make sense i know i cracked larger rocks than 18k before :S
Sadly I have to use the thing... the C2 doesn't have a beam
Start trying to break it, and if not get the Sabir gadget and use that. That should help
But 18k is pretty big for a prospector or golem. .
yeah but i just dont understand why or what makes it so i cant crack it when i have cracked bigger rocks before :S
Resistance
Agreed, but it is super cool to place a gadget on a 18k rock and crack it! - the issue I have with quant is that it seems you'll often find a small amount like 1scu or just under, collect it and then have to head back and store the ship before you explode. So when your over halfway full and you find a nice chunk (like 9 scu) and can top off - thats a great night!!!!
oh so if it had like 5% i should have been able?
Resistance makes a huge change
Probally... depends on your laser head your using.
And I am no prospector expert either as I own a golem (which couldn't crack said rock probally)
you gotta be kidding my sabir despawned from my hands
hmm even with the sabir it wont 😦 i take it the only other mining ship is the multi crew one(mole)?
You can solo a mole - but again I would advise you to focus on taranite at least the quant will come! You can refine on ArcL4 with a bonus for taranite - or L2 with a bonus for quant then head on over to Orison to sell. It's good advice! To me mining is like fishing, there is always a better rock over the next hill!
yeah i might buy the Mole i just dislike it (i had one before the wipe) i find it a bit annoying that i can no longer use the prospector as well as i could when i bought it, and i hope they will add solor ship that can mine large rocks soon
I have not seen a group of prospector miners - maybe you and I can crack one that size by doubling up.
I have the same issue but the atls has the best tractor beam ingame, and the C has enough room to fit it
If you dont like it, dont buy it. There wont be " big solo rocks " cause its a multiplayer loop. You can break huge stuff with the mole solo tho
Well i already bought it( way back) so a bit too late xD
At least you can always go the upgrade path if your not into it anymore!
34k mass at 42% resistance is not crackable by a solo prospector. You can get close with a helix with double surge modules AND a Sabir gadget, but that's going to be incredibly hard to manage. Check out the calculator I posted here #industrial-professions message to compare loadouts and see maximum mass and resistance that you can handle with a given loadout.
how is mining and salvaging right now? I used to roc mine for hadanite but now that its fps only, im not sure what industry to get into right now
ill check that out! thanks i still dont get why i cant crack a 18k with 16% resistance (i find it illogic) but ill mostlikely gather the 9 mill and buy the mole despite im not a fan of multi crew ships solo
I like to keep the wiki open so I can look up component names. If it's some Civilian grade C module, another Size 3 badger repeater, or something else I'll never equip, I'll leave it. Time is money, friend!
18k might not look like a lot, but youre solo, 18k of good rock its profit
yeah i think i just need to scale down on my expectations. it use to be easier to get rocks after all the sheet @pearl juniper posted here: #industrial-professions message actually really useful
Did the rock heat up with the modules active?
no 😦 even with the Sabir on
Might be a new bug, the math checks out. Maybe check issue council
could be desync the server was acting up
True. Had filler station in vulture not filling trouble after 1 hr ish
damn
i can help you out
Right now i just want the server to behave i somehow managede to die inside my prospector because i cracked the rock (had like 3% red)
ship survived though (shield was up)
but thank you for the offer
anyone know how to fix the station not taking my delivery?
i have 2 SCU left to deliver to HUR L4. all these are the only 2 SCUs i have, but it wont take.
- Check you are at the correct location
- Check you have the correct size of boxes required by the mision
I was helping space mining with this Org and they found this nice Gold rock. Took 3 ships to crack!!
literally said what i need to deliver.
You can submit the mission for partial payment. Hauling missions sometime bug out some crates
last nite happened to me while hauling on the RAFT, got 2 missing boxes but i blame the RAFT new grid glitching
speaking of it i just opened an issue report, in case someone else is missing boxes on the RAFT
https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-169509
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
As just mentioned the Tar Pits missions are the best for salvage. No upfront cost but there is a timer. Starfarer pool ship is glitched ask me for workarounds.
Anyone got any tips for a beginner miner? I own the golem now but when using the prospectors I swear any combination of laser and module wouldn't break the large mass rocks
Am I missing something?
All the gold and quantanium are inside those large mass rocks so I'm super eager to crack em, do I just need a buddy to mine with me?
try giving it this modules
the Rieger C3 will give you the power to blow up most rocks
also look for signals on this numbers:
they show up at distances of 5km+
Yes.
The Prospector is a solo mining ship, not meant to go after monster rocks with rare ores, high instability and resistance.
Let alone the starter Golem
I’ve had decent Quant luck in my Golem
Golems laser is stronger in terms of raw power than anything the Prospector can use. Just have to play around with gadgets/modules to account for its increased innate resistance/instability disregard
No.
Golem head is as strong as the Helix head, except it has a huge resistance debuff that makes it terrible in comparison to the Helix.
do anyone know can u put mos mining begs in carrack
Ty I appreciate the help!
Use regolith.rocks to make mining head loadouts. Consider Rieger-C3+Surge (or Stampede) instead of you're after large rocks, but again, don't expect any wonders in the Golem.
I dont, I'm aware it's a starter
Could have sworn it was stronger than the Helix. I see I was mistaken.
what is best place to sell scrap pyro or stanton ?
uexcorp.space
is it worth swapping out the stock components on a ROC? Going to use mainly for Harthor mining.
Don't self promote please, rule 5.
what do u ppl think about of useing carrack as mining support ,like taking misc beggs with him and switching it to one that are full
I think it depends on how many bags your hauling, smaller more nimble ship would do better I suspect tho
I saw that mining has been largely fixed this patch around, do you guys know if we can also buy saddle bags now? If so, where?
a lot like for not going to station for 5h
is 1 mining gadget a rock a suggestion or will it actually blow shit up
possible for me to farm carnitine alone?
note to Asgard owners, the top strut traps the second row of boxes at the back of the grid :/
found an IC for it 🙂
Golem fits with space for spare ore pods:
No reason why you'd use MISC bags over ARGO ones.
A C2 may be more comfortable to carry bags too.
just beware it looks like stuff in the back glitches around, I seem to have lost an ore pod lol
Man i hate outpost freight elevators . Today one reseted when i tried storing bought cargo and i tought i lost cargo and rage quited. Turned out cargo got stored tho
Forget this fact you can easily load 180SCU+ is more pressing issue
why is that an issue?
It shows Cig artificialy limited cargo just becouse they can
no ship's (internal) grid fills all of the available space in a bay
and you're confusing a bug with a design/feedback issue.
Dunno only bug i notice with asgards cargo is that boxes sometimes need force to unlock from grid
there's already a confirmed IC so I'm not the only person to encounter this
looks like refining from containers still deletes them lol. that's 100k lost 😄
I've been using Regolith for setting up loadouts, but is there somewhere I can see recommendations on what Mining Heads/Modules/Loadouts and gadgets to use and when?
Solo Mole. No real issues with my Helix II/Arbor setup so far, though.
Have anyone managed to test the starfarer this patch?
after you refine, can you pick which size boxes you pickup?
No it will give the biggest possible and add extra usually like 9scu would be 8+1
Per commodity
ok thanks
I cant refine my mined ores and also what do I do if it says its gonna explode?
The timer stops when you store your ship, so it's not going to explode, what's the issue stopping you from refining?
I didnt store the ship for refining, I thought I could just leave it in the hangar xD and what method is the best?
oh and I cant change my storage or laser on my rented ship right?
