That's a possibility indeed
How many ROC gems make up 1SCU?
Dude earlier was saying 1000
I had 747 in my Roc bag that's 1.2scu and it was about 2/3 full so sounds about right!
Are SCtradetools and UEX reasonably accurate for commodity prices or nah?
Yes, those 2 are the only ones worth considerations...
Just a quick look at results from Stanton/sell at Orison ROC and GEO gem mining all three gems in Feynmaline, Glacosite and Beradom. Didn't log hours but over a 10 day period on Aberdeen, Daymar and Magna.
F mined 608 units, 289.00 per unit for $197,564.00 AEUC.
B mined one patch 127.50 per unit for $1,880.00 AEUC.
G mined one patch 85.00 per unit for $63,746.00 AEUC.
Hope they patch up spawn rates in Stanton but I'm still going to Pyro.
Surface mining works or still busted?
You can sell the Feyn for 391 per unit in lots of places - if you have a hot suit (pembroke armor - the RED suit) you can mine with the ROC on Arial or Aberdeen and find lots of it. Stay low fly slow and the 5k and under pings are usually good. I like Aberdeen personally, as its huge and has lots of places you can quantum jump to then fly away from getting you on the surface faster.
Selling at just about any HDMS-xxxxx on the surface will net you 391k per SCU, not all of them but darned close. Drag your bag into the cargo elevator drop it and move the stuff out of the bags into inventory to sell - in the next patch, I believe you will be able to sell directly from the ROC - not confirmed by me though.
If you're looking to trade get the Raft. After the patch it will have 192scu of cargo. It will also get it's tractor beam which is in a great spot and will make manual loading even easier than it is now.
yeah that's what i was most leaning towards as well to be honest
assuming 4.1.1 will just be an LTP reset?
Is there a version of this for flying vehicles?
(I mainly wanna know what will fit into the Carrack)
Back in the 3.1x patches you used to be able to sell directly from the ROC. Seems they progress by re-introducing past features.
!fit ⬇️
Thanks Y'all
That's entirely up to date. Arrow fit when they decoupled the wing folding from landing gears, but iirc that doesn't work anymore
It's missing the Fury, which also fits and that's it
Pretty sure you can get an arrow in there with the landing gear retracted and wings extended, but carrack isn't something I spend a lot of time using.
I believe its wonky in that you extend gear to close wings, get inside the hangar area, retract gear to extend wings, and land on your belly.
How do i sell ship components i took out from a salvaged ship?
Bring them to a city/station with a component shop, send them down the freight elevator and sell
But it's worth very little to sell that way.
Only some not buyable components are worth looting and selling directly to players
So unless it's military grade, just leave it?
Not necessarily, there are competition and stealth parts worth taking as well
Or if someone has a loadout of the best comps you can buy in shops, and you have a ship they will fit, you can save a trip to said shops and some money for yourself
Is there a calculator to determine if I can break the rock?
Where can I sell Bexa, Tara and Gold? Each place people tell me to go in global chat is a scam. I go there and cant sell.
I couldn't find one, so I made my own #industrial-professions message
does not include the Golum laser yet
Very nice! thanks!
I'm new to mining, is there a reason why torrent lll aren't included as a mod?
I only included the mods that effect laser power or rock resistance, as that's the only thing the calculator is calculating.
Nice!
mostly the point of the calculator started out as a way to estimate if it was worth trying to hit a rock with a surge module, or get out to apply a Sabire. Then it kinda morphed into a tool for comparing loadouts as well.
Any TDD and any of the cities in Stanton should buy those. You could check SCTradeTools to be certain. AND I know this is a (potentially) silly question BUT you have refined the ore I take it? If not you can sell unrefined ore at the refinery BUT it is worth twice as much if you refine it.
It was refined. My mistakes were Commodities terminal instead of TDD. Then disappearing cargo from the ship. Where you need to spawn it in multiple times
It's perfect. I'm surprised regolith hasn't implemented a calculator like this.
To the haulers amongst you guys... maybe a dumb question but can the Argo raft ONLY load 32SCU containers between these little clamps? Or can it also load other sizes, e.g. 16 or 8 SCU?
It can hold all sizes of SCU containers, but for sizes below 8 SCU it gets a bit weird because the grid snapping starts from the bottom rather than the top.
Bear in mind that 4.1.1 is completely changing the cargo grid layout for the RAFT. No more cargo clamp model and an increased total grid (192 SCU in 4.1.1 vs 96 SCU in 4.1.0)
To me more exact about your question though. In the current patch, you can place an 8 SCU container between the clamp models. It will look like it is just floating in air, unsupported by the clamps, but will still be 100% securely attached to grid
Oh yeah I know, that'S why I just bought it in addition to my freelancer max, for the upcoming upgrade. But as I first boarded it I just realized with the clamps, it looked like it may ONLY hold 32SCU and nothing smaller lol. So I figured I'd ask around real quick. I mainly need it for 32-8SCU only anyway. Thanks for replying!
But you can also place 4x 8SCUs between the clamps in the current patch, right?
Yes
I use it occasionally for the up to 96scu missions
I did a 98scu once with the odd 2scu in the airlock lol
LOL!
the airlock.. just saw it.. weirdest shit ever.. who the f needs an airlock on a little raft and if then why THERE.... what did they smoke on designing this.. 😄
i do absolutely LOVE the cockpit though ♥
I think they want a lot of ships to offer ship to ship docking in space
I suppose but.. I wouldnt know, honestly, what I'd even want to dock to a raft lol
LOOL aaand I locked myself in the cockpit... good to have a lock, bad the touchpad does not let me click it now, anymore. haha! First raft experience. 😄
It was good for escaping the ship when the elevator was bugged so I'm glad it had one lol
LOL ok fair enough haha!!
If you ever have trouble with ship doors from the pilot seat press Alt + F and under ship > open all doors
ah good idea, the keybind to open all doors should unlock it, as well. thanks!
welp that did not work LOL!
guess I will live in my raft cockpit now, somebody bring me a naughty magazine and some croissants and coffee once a week, please.
Oof
Hah. Seems the right angle is the trick. I approached the door touchpad completely sideways and could click the little lock button on it again. Star Citizen at its best, aye? 😄
side note.. holy fuck I love its lighting mods. 😉
You can also tractor an ATLS into the RAFT's airlock
Tbh they probably could change that area to an ATLS docking bay.
Can i put 1scu boxes in large scu boxes?
Without glitches: Only for non-contracted containers
With glitches: you can place contracted/mission containers inside larger self store containers
Holy Christ that screams like ship explosion. 😄
Have to try. 😄
If you back the Raft up to the freight elevator and use the maxlift I think it would be a faster load than tractoring out the ATLS, loading and the crates and then tractoring the ATLS back in. I think it might still be quicker with the new grid.
Greetings, I want to try mining for the first time with the mole, is there anything I should buy to upgrade it?
Set up the three turrets to have different combinations of lasers and modules for different purposes.
Im solo tho
It's got 3 mining laser turrets, and none are controllable from the pilot seat, so if you wanna use the mole you're going to be running around your ship to turrets anyway
e.g. high power, extra stability/optimal zone, and lots of filtering to avoid inert mats
So you use 1 or 2 depending on rock, then jump in 3 to extract
I mean I wanted to try mining quant on solo, which ship its good for it?
Golem or Prospector; they are both single-seaters
Mole is the only other mining ship, and it does not have pilot-controlled lasers
So for solo the golem or prospector its fine?
Well they have limitations in terms of mining laser power output, and capacity.
Mole is fine to solo, you just have to run around it
Question: have any of you tried trading in pyro. If so, how did it go?
I've done a little
Pyro is hyped as a boogeyman, but it's nowhere near as bad as a lot of space truckers fear it to be
Great, its there anything i need to buy for updating the mole? or standard will be fine?
well yeah, change out all the mining lasers
check out regolith.rocks to plan out what you want
use erkul or spviewer to find where to buy, and to check things like how much power you want.
Did you autoload or manual load stuff?
Manual load, in stations it's just dirtier.
Mhm
And I'm assuming I should avoid ground outposts like shepherd's rest in favour of stations like Gaslight/Ruin Station?
On the whole tbh I see no reason why I should even bother trading when I can make so much more doing arccorp hauling or pyro HRTs
There's certainly higher risk doing ground locations, same as in Stanton.
though a bit worse
mm
Variety is the spice of life?
If you fill a C2 and have a really good margin doing runs from e.g. MIC-L2 to Gaslight then sure, why not?
I mean, a lot of us did that getting Tin from Stanton to do SoD, right?
true
although on the whole I'd rather not risk losing 1-2m buying cargo
and getting shot down
or facing bugs
when i could put that towards a new ship
If you find a route e.g. Starlight -> Endgame then it's no more dangerous than Stanton station trades
For the moment I think it is a matter of finding a good route
Because I did an experimental route in stanton from terra to one of the L stations for only like 400k profit
Buddy found this back in Jan, no idea if it's still viable and IIRC it had some limited supply, so it's like a Zeus-sized run
Interesting
on paper it seems to work (except for the section to rods)
I'd probably have to do the maths on timings but yeah
Yeah distances can be pretty far in Pyro, and IIRC that run had stock limitations
I think I might have to at some point go do some visits
and literally see what the prices are at certain stations
more generally I just need to know the map better so I can make a pretty efficient route
in the meantime, that's too much effort so I'll just go hauling
CFP gives hauling contracts in Pyro, but they are IIRC generally to (and sometimes From) ground outposts
Im struggling to find the ~~fun ~~ value in mining. It would be great if it wasn't for the the nagging thought in my head, "You could be making 8x doing bounties." Please tell me I'm just terrible and there is room to improve. I'm making about 200k/hr considering repairs, replacements, fees, and time spent from mining to selling.
Grinding credits to buy an endgame ship results in boredom
Do the gameplay that you enjoy. Only grind credits when the ship you want to buy will unlock new gameplay e.g. grind creds for a vulture because you don't have a salvager.
In 4.1.1 how will we know which bag is going to explored with quantum in it?
Fellow citizens, what would be a good ship to start smuggling?
I mean, asking for a friend of mine.
need a hand with a large quant rock if anyone can
Hi, guys. Does auto sell in com terminal works with containers not attached to the cargo grid?
i dont believe so
Is there any compact info about atmospheric pressure on each planet/moon in Pyro? I recently tried mining on Terminus and noticed that there's almost 2.5 atm, so the Prospector flies like a slug, which is quite a limiting factor when searching for rocks.
verseguide.com has the info for most of the Stanton moons and planet, but not yet for Pyro. It's crowdsourced, you can contribute on their discord
I bought reclaimer and it is pain to deliver cargo
Do you know, is it fixed in 4.1.1?
If you're asking if the reclaimer is getting (a much needed) re-work? no.
Gotta toss it all out the back and let the janky collision physics push the boxes out
I did, but it always stucked
Hire slaves.
Auto sell what's on grid?
But on grid is less than half
That is the tradeoff.
You either spend less time unloading and get less money using purely on grid storage or deal with the time sink of unloading off grid cargo. 🤷
And I expect they'll fix the reclaimers grid any day now..
insert Spiderman JJ Laugh
We'll sooner have space base building first
Right after they fix invisible cargo
To get better mining results. Do I keep splitting rocks to get only material I desire or do I mine with some garbage materials?
Hey guys, having found mixed answers on Reddit and forums I figured I’d ask here too - what do we reckon is the best loadout for a Mole, heads and modules? For either Solo or Group play?
One Helix laser for breaking big rocks, one Hofstede for medium/small breaks, last laser for collecting (reduced inert addons) OR Helix with active modules for huge rock breaks
Reigers on the Helix, focus/torrent in the Hofstede and FLTRs on the last one?
My load out exactly.
Recently reworked it.
Helix[2x Reiger-C3 + Surge] big cracker
Impact[3 FLTR-XL] extracting ignoring inert materials
Hofstede[2 Focus I] low power
Perfect that sounds like exactly what I want, I’ll mostly be using it solo but would this setup work alright with crew too?
It would work with a crew if you're not looking to crack the biggest of the monstrous rocks.
Rough size limit with this build?
You can still add the power and the buffs of each heads, but it won't be as good as a dual power Helix + green zone Hofstede
I cracked 55k mass rocks with this Helix. That's about the limit solo.
Holy hell alright yeah not stressing about going bigger than that, I’m coming from Golem mining so that’s a big fella
Maybe 60k.
It's a bit of a rough estimate for crewed, but I'd say 70k
Surge
Ah yes, I forgot, Sabir gadget helps a lot too. 55k was using Sabir.
It's a handheld gadget. You go out of the ship and snap it onto the rock directly, then calibrate it.
Sabir and Optimax gadgets have really good buffs
I saw gadgets when I was getting into mining, they worth it for the time?
Awesome thanks man
They aren't worth it for most rocks, but IMO they are, for very hard rocks with good ores, with Sabir (resistance bonus), or for rocks with very good materials where you want the best distribution of the ores per rock with Optimax (cluster bonus)
Very nice, buying some for myself now
Optimax also has resistance bonus, just not as good as Sabir, so it works for tough rocks too
Awesome (latest PTU)
Agreed - like I want more in-game money to buy a bigger different ship with a purpose - but at teh same time like I enjoy grinding out 5 ROC bags of feyn - it takes time and it can be a bit boring, no worries thats part of it. The reward is later on when I know I grinded TF out of it to get the ship I want - even if it gets wiped, I know I did that. Its what I like to call oddly satisfying.
Wait we are talking Mole here right?
Ya
Ok, I was thinking back and about a 13 maybe 19k rock was my biggest in a prospector - thought maybe something changed
but as I said for now the ROC is beating the tar out of a prospector due to long refine times and the need for a secondary "ship" to sell said stuff. Even if you just collected teh ORE you can make more in a ROC - I sure dont wanna see the ROC nerfed - if anything the prospector needs a bit of a buff!
So ROC mining is worth it?
I’ve got a C1 and the money for a ROC I just assumed it wasn’t great for making money
its diffrent, cargo hauling is a bit more reliable atm, like ive been using an ATLS GEO for ground mining, but the hard part is finding minerals or gems that are worth it, i mainly mine Feynmaline on Aberdeen and sometimes youll hit a drought and cant find anything worth mining
but its a fun counter especially when youve been hauling for a while
ground mining atm can be a bit buggy aswell, biggest bug is the actual rocks not having a hitbox so you gotta leave and look for another
been mining for days on end in this patch no issues...in the ROC - to me Feyn is the only thing worth mining but I did hit a patch of hadonite - gotta say things have changed with that! but yeah for me ROC is good. Prospector isnt bad either, I kinda like stacking the orders, but refine times are too long. I do like the gadgets - like when you find that rock that is worth using one and it works - def cool
Also to be more clear hadonite seems to be going the way of janalite - you find some now and its not htat big of a find...
I do like cargo hauling too - but the hauling contracts are like 50-60k make a few higher and your doing some running and being a box monkey - sorta like salvaging, and although I enjoy that too - after you salavage an idris your done with that loop for awhile - LOL. Anywho, hauling contracts are good easy money and are great, especially for learning how your ship handles as you will almost always start pushing speeds into hangars. Its more like a training session for loading and unloading and travelling betwixt places.
Youre telling me you break 55k rocks with 2x Rieger and 1 surge? WTF
My biggest was 29~k with golem surge + stampede. That much difference with the mole its surprising and awesome
is salvaging still viable for somewhat profit
I know I keep asking same thing over and over again. But how do you guys mine? Find a rock that's 40% or more of the material you want. Then keep cracking it till you get 100% of the material and no trash?
Reading this again, I think my memory slipped and it was more 40-45k rocks, but my brain keeps yelling "55k" at me so I should just go and try again
If you're running prospector, that's the way IMO.
With a MOLE and the loadout I'm running with 83% inert material reductions make it so that I don't mind extracting something with lots of inert materials.
Upping the capacity to 240 SCUs also helps a lot with that.
Im currently in Golem. But Im like few hours away of upgrading to Prospector. Im solo mining
If I get lucky I grab some quantanium. But thats quite a rare sight 😄
Hi all, last days i did vaughn mission. I have the third highest rep: high level assasin.
But all cargo ships i killed line conni, c2...were empty?
Not 1 only box?
Have vaughn mission currently loot?
Not very #industrial-professions related.
Anyway, don't rely on scan, make sure to open the ship ramps/elevators.
If you did and it was empty, then it's bad luck.
Me and a friend found an abandoned ship my scan showed nothing he opened up the ramp had Eggs and Quantanium. We ditched some RMC to get it back in 2 Vultures.
Just take a Tar Pits contract and start flying around there is other ships abandoned out there can be additional profits around Yela.
I have found lots of downed ships with cargo just going sight seeing in the verse - not exactly an industrial profession but sight-seeing (exploration maybe counts?) can net some rewards. Sometimes the boxes are just laying around, this is probably due to bounty hunters who don't bother to scan and just move on to the next bounty - so yeah if your into free cargo, that's one way to get it. Last free stuff that I found was over on Cellin, valued at more than 200k just doing some exploration and visiting locations! Have also found some great weapons in crates at some of the locations!
So are vices broken now? Can you make more money by trading regular stuff instead of vice?
1,2 net profit with altruciatoxin, while you can make 3x that with Fresh Food, lol
gents, and ladies, best planet to mine on with ROC, GO
I saw 3 reclaimers just floating. I was returning from mining trip 😄

Good video for anyone asking how to mine
If i find a cluster I don't have cargo space to mine can I mark it to come back?
not without some effort - my advice is to look around and mark some known points of interest with distances. You could kill yourself and come back to that location but it would be far better to know the area and your location for future reference. You can triangulate distances with markers and find it with just a bit of trial and error. The only problem is that if you found a cluster - and logged off right there - it will not be there again. so in short NO - it's a moot point, the cluster will be gone on your return.
Also, not sure what you mean by "don't have cargo space to mine" - thats a word salad for sure. What ship are you referring to? The prospector, the mole and the ROC all have ways to increase capacity - however none of them have cargo space - cargo is for haulers, mining ships have space but you cant really put cargo in there (the ROC is sorta wierd in that respect) so again, lets talk about what you need to know. 1st of all if you die and have a marker there you can come back - death markers don't always work. If you log off, its gone. If this doesn't clear it up for you let me know - happy to help if I can!
Thanks for the response, your advice is solid and satisfies the question completely. The ship I'm working with is the Mole. By cargo space I mean my space available to receive ore, it says "cargo 0.00/192.00 SCU" so I wouldn't have thought it was any different.
Who's the brainiac that designed this perfect little cargo box catcher in the Starlancer's cargo bay???
I want my 9m aUEC back.
yall know if theres a way to combine a bunch of 1 scu boxes into a bigger sie
i may or may not have bought 64 1 scu boxes of methane
nope, there isn't. Get an ATLS mech and move them, it'll be much less painful
Is this possible without an org -_-
anyone know how to sell mined goods?
for me it keeps trying to send it to my ship
then the cargo disappears or is invisble
You can sell unrefined ores directly from the mining ship for a fraction of the price, or refine ores at a refinery, then collect them with a cargo ship to sell at a TDD.
There are a few bugs with collecting cargo. Make sure to never let the game auto store your ship, so don't leave your hangar without storing the ship first and waiting for the warning lights to turn off.
Always retrieve your ship from the in hangar ASOP, avoid the lobby ones. That'll avoid you issues too.
And if your ship spawns without the cargo you collected inside of it, just store and retrieve it until it shows. Simple as that.
Your right they do call it cargo - and technically I guess it is - so I guess I was wrong to call it by any other name - naming conventions are slightly confusing to me sometimes. Regardless, the best advice I can give is to fill up the bags and head on back to the refining process, rinse and repeat. There will be another awesome cluster around the next turn! Maybe one day, we will have a way to drop a marker. It used to be that you could take a delivery mission and use that box to mark places - not sure if that would still work or not but my method is to write down 3 distances to other quantum markers - this will definitely get you back - but there is the caveat that you cannot leave the game or the cluster will be gone, or you'll be on a different shard. Switching servers can be useful when visiting caves, but minables go bye bye.
WOW That's a God tier rock if there ever was one. BUT that Titanium is a low tier mineral. So I would just pass this sucker by not worth it.
Question. Had some friends headed out in my reclaimer. They split the CMT between them and now it is showing the CMT as stolen when they try to sell it. Is there a way around this?
I don’t think you can improve the Golem. You’ll either need to rent a Mole and strip the bags off and put them on. or have a friend that can strip the bags off of there mole for you out in space.
Like eman said, Golem capacity can't be improved.
If you have an ATLS, you don't need to rent a MOLE, just buy MOLE bags and get them delivered on the freight elevator with a 2 SCU storage container. Replace your Prosp bag with those. Check elguapo ytb channel for how to do that.
Rejoin a party with the same people
Edit. Prospector or MOLE, my fault
Prospector can be easily upgraded with MOLE bags. Both can be further upgraded with an exploit. Check the ytb channel I mentioned.
I understand the patch will remove the ore pods upsizing glitch.
how does mining compare to slavage atm
question for you guys
if we wanted to make 100mil what would be the best way to go about it in this vein
One question, do the hauling, planetary, solar, and interstellar missions make any difference in XP? Or do they all give the same amount?
Salvage is way less involved and you only require a single ship to do it. Mining requires both a mining ship and a cargo ship. Salvage is go out, fill up, come in and sell. Mining go out fill up, come in, refine (this first part you repeat while refining), get refined ore (8-24 rl hrs later) transfer to cargo ship, take cargo ship to a planet, sell ore at TDD.
You diecide which you want to do.
They all give the same rep. The rep increases per level so you're much better off doing your current level contracts.
Depends on what you want to do and what ships you have. Hauling is easy and good money, commodity trading is ok (station to station), bounties (especially in Pyro) and higher level Vaughn missions. Salvaging is also an easy way to make money.
assuming there is no limit on ships or choice, just the most efficent way
A full reclaimer nets you 4mil about and is probably the quickest. Although at higher levels a Vaughn mission can get you around that depending on what cargo you can loot. Sorry not much help here as I tend to just mosey along slowly making my fortune.
hey yall just bought a vulture
so for the vulture is there a limit to the size of ships we can scrap
kk thanks
Like can I find any ship with a vulture and just start scraping it?
You can scrap any ship of any ship but to dismantle them (Convert them to Constructed Materials) you just can do it till Mercury Star Runner, you won't be able to do it to bigger ships.
Anyway, Recycled Materials is better and you shouldn't waste space on Constructed Materials in the Vulture.
Yes, and you can check to do the Contracts of Salvage too but that may be less profitable. (I just like doing them to increase the rep, sometimes these ships have some valuable cargo too)
I gotcha.
Maybe I was just in some wonky mode. Tho I thought I tried both modes of the scrapers
I must just be confused or something. I got very little idea of how to scrape ships lol
L alt + s switches to beams, right click switched both. L alt + w switches you to fracturing mode, if you're scraping too you can press g to go gimballed and not rotate your entire ship to scrape
Just be forewarned, the exploit to get the prospector bags to 80SCU sounds like a great plan, less trips in but the refine times for 1 haul are incredibly long - so much so that you would do better to just take the upgrade to 40scu and enjoy more reasonable runs and refine times, unless you don't mind waiting literally 3 - 4 days - I've posted on here several times about the long wait times - but I will say its awful nice to come in with a full load of taranite! or 12 scu of quant + the rest in taranite - which is good for a prospector! SO again, I did it, didn't care for it - putting the mole bags on makes for a nice amount.
any misc fortune owners here, I had a few questions, hoping you guys can answer.
Has cargo hauling in Hull C been felt smoother to anyone recently? past week, I couldn't complete a single task (infinite loading bug), but today's session, I have been hauling back to back with 99% success
idk if anyone here has figured this out? I wanna rebind so i can use my stick for the tractor beam turret
i tried that man but it didnt work 😭
but it only works well with a mouse wheel or similar, if just a button you have to press it rapidly or use a program to make it repeating
would it not work well as an axis?
un fourtunatly id dosent work with an axis type input. you would think though, right?
its looking for a rapid repeated input like the clicks of a mouse wheel...
VKB Gladiator
do they have the scroll wheel in the base?
they sure do
thats what most people use
although its gonna be a bit fucky to double handle, i might bind it to a wheel on my STECS throttle
yeah i just got the sol-R2 and the best thing about them for industrial is the scroll wheels on the sticks
single stick or hosas?
I'm rocking HOTAS, my throttle has a couple of wheels i could use though
i havent got desk mounts for them yet so theyre sitting on the desk on either side of my keyboard, makes it a bit awkward to grab the stick with 2 hands
yeah i use my right stick for aim and a encoder knob on the left stick base its a bit akward but very effective in game.
yeah my setup would be very uncomfortable without mounts
hopefully my problem was not using a wheel, just heading planet side to find a box to try it 🤞
@fervent thorn you are my hero, thank you
no problem, I had much frustration figuring that one out myself. o7
now I just need to have another look to see if i can bing rotation
i need to do that too
Hey, quick question, how worse (if even worse) Fortune vs Vulture for salvage/per hour ?
Fellow Vultures, any good places to look for a lot of shipwreck in Pyro?
Twice as worse (literally 1 scraper vs 2)
I even timed myself on both
got a question are the prices for stuff like etam the eggs slam maze etc stuff u get from vaughn missions are they prices preset by dev or do they change with how much people are trading and selling ?
Hello comrades, whats the best industry when it comes to making the fast and most cash
Guys do we have any list of statiosn which support HULL C
i went to crul1 for covalex missions no option to hail cargo
salvage, hauling, mining . Depends on luck for both salvage and mining if u get good quant things can change
K
Anyone?
Every orbital space station and gateway station.
Actually you can also collect refinery orders on a Hull C but then you can't reach the TDD to sell the cargo
no not all, i went to CRU l1, couldnt call cargo
there was only optionh to hail for docking
The “main” stations, so Everus Harbour and stuff have the cargo areas
anyone know how to fix this it just stuck saying prossesing order and i cant claim my stuff
Along with the gateways, Pyro, Magnus, and Terra Gateway
Seraphim
Magnus Gateway
Terra Gateway
Everus Harbor
Pyro Gateway
Port Tressler
Baijini Point
anything am missing
hop server
tnx
Yes you can, but not by using the cargo hailing option.
Anyway, like I said, every orbital space station and gateway station. That's the intended thing. Refineries aren't for the obvious reason that you can't sell after.
what's the cooldown on the olp laser
Woops looks like Baelthor answered this earlier... For "fracturing" the biggest general size for the Vulture is the MSR or Mercury Star Runner. Due to the limited capacity of the Vulture and the fact that CM only sells for $2,500.00 per 1 scu most Vulturers pass on the CM and go for strictly RMC at apx. $12,500.00 per scu. Also there are tricks to overloading the space in the Vulture to get like 39 or so crates in the back ask here for more details.
There is no true floating economy that relies of player input. Periodically CIG can adjust sell prices by region - like Pyro versus Stanton and sites across the current 2 star system. You can review sites like UEX corps or Trade Tools and decide where you want to sell at.
I think salvaging is good industrial wise. It's a lot easier to learn and do than mining and is cheaper to get into.
But the cheapest industry to get into is hauling contracts. The small planatery ones can be stacked and you can get around 300k a run.
Probally can make around 400k an hour or possibly 500k. Thing is it's very tedious.
Stacking boxes is dull af
I see thank you for the info still. And I think I had issues with using the modes. I just picked up salvaging so...
But how do you swap from fracture mode to disintegration mode anyway?
Not really "industry" per se but certain special events created by CIG can be incredibly profitable and offer unique gear rewards. For the recent "Align and Mine???" event some players were making a billion dollars. As mentioned before using like the Vaughn contracts and BHG ones to secure Vice cargo - and Quantanium can bring you millions if profit.
I am unfamiliar with align and mine sadly. I lack people to run it with really
I have a Golem, and C1, A super Hornet MKII and a vulture now
Not sure it uses the ALT key then another set of numbers or right mouse click.
Right mouse click swaps between the salvaging heads and tractor beam
At least i am pretty sure
I think it must be alt- something.
But not sure yet.
If you like the Vulture start saving for the Reclaimer I can give you a tour if you want.
The vulture is brand new still purchased yesterday
Salvaging is a loop i am starting to explore but I like because it's simple compared to mining and can make more profit.
Mining is a pain.
It's kinda enjoyable but not worth it tbh.
I mean you gotta get quantanium with is super rare.
And gadgets break or get lost which eats into your profit.
You should learn how to over stuff the cargo area.
Already know how actually😅
Haven't brought in 1SCU of cargo but
Know how to overload ships😂
I like salvaging too, it's a very chill loop. I like to just throw on some music and get busy scraping in the vulture if I'm not looking for trouble in the cutlass. Easy money.
Way easier than mining.
I'll keep in contact with ya tho for multi crew stuff if ya don't mind. Wouldn't mind a tour of a reclaimed.
Reclaimer*
Hear that thing makes mad cash. 1.5M/hrs or something
Just DM or friend request ok.
Either or both.
Sent you a friend request
Yeah with a good crew it makes money fast
Anybody have tips for somebody starting off commodity trading?
Also is smuggling worth it (fun/profitable)?
I've got 400k (can grind for more) a Titan, and all the free fly ships.
Smuggling is only really fun if you are into high risk higer reward
How does it work?
You need to use trading ap like SC Trade Tools to find where drugs are cheap to buy and sell for high price. But remember its illegal to do drug runs so even gangs may fire on you if you try to aproach their outpost
SC trade tools is also used for legal trading
Not sure if you are trying to trade in Stims, but the "Easy Pickins" quest in Pyro can give you about 50 SCU of Stims & gold (mostly stims) and I think it only costs around $13k.
hello,
Probally not with a Titan.
A titan is rocking like 8SCU of cargo.
I picked up i think 48SCU of er... Neon in Pyro and sold it in Stanton.
Trip was entertaining but a pain in the neck also nearly had a heart attack mostly cause due to quantum fuel glitch
(I ended up at 0% quantum fuel as I reached gaslight i think lol)
In a C1...
So don't do it in a C1
And i had to refuel like 3x lol
i have a question. i had in a refine station multiple completed orders. i chose to store them inside my Taurus but they disappered. any help?
Stanton gateway. The area is was in (glitch), gaslight. Pyro Gateway
Store and retrieve your ship that should fix it. If not store and retrieve again and so on
refuel then store and retrieve
or just claim a new ship that usually fixes it
to check if it fixed warp away and watch closely on your fuel meter top left
you reffering to me?
But you can't store when you land at some place on. Planet that isn't a full on space port right?
So yeah doesn't work really.
I did this methoad after flying to a station.
why i cant see my commodities such as gold bexalite quantinium at Orison's admin? i can see them in my local inv by the way
Go to the TDD terminals...
i am there
i see the commodity shop
cloud view
No go to Cloudview Station by Stratus and the TDD hospital platform.
i am inside stratus building
It's the next entrance over towards the hospital the globe shape sign.
Commodity shop is at the Providence Platform
After you refine ore can you just put it in storage or do you need to put it in ship?
Starting from next patch, you'll be able to put it in storage. For now, you have to collect it in a ship
is there a way to switch atls modes? it used to be if it was attached to a grid you could fine adjust like with a max lift
now it just slams 32 scu boxes in your face and you cant see where you're placing
If you can't see where you're placing, that's usually because there's something above you and the box that prevents the ATLS from carrying it high enough
Clear the space above you
Hey industrial magnats! This RAFT SCU upgrade is already in PTU right? Do you guys playing PTU know? So this is 100% officially confirmed to come next patch 4.1.1 PU (likely somewhat around victus I guess), right?
Yes
Hooray! 😄
well its a c2, you cant stand on the ground and see the grid, so you stand on the ramp and it puts a container in your face
Stand further on the ramp or use a handheld beam for the last boxes
I know how to work around it, I just wanted to know if that feature existed on the atls anymore
Not sure it ever did. It's the whole reason I don't use the ATLS
For 'unloading' it's fine. For 'loading' it sucks ass
Is it your home location? It's a known bug that commodities disappear from terminal view in locations where you have a lot of items in local inventory (which usually happens at home, with all the random paints, decorations, flair etc). If that's the case, just buy a StorAll box(es) and stuff it in before trading.
Are you holding down the F key for placements?
Doesn't holding F just switch to headview, even in the atls? He's talking about fine control with the ATLS, which it just doesn't have. It auto snaps anything to right in front of and above it if possible, and then high speed chucks it at where ever you tell it. It has the finesse and fine control of a bull in a china shop.
Having a selling issue at Orison TDD with some CM. It says 0 amount and moving the sliders or clicking the amount icon does not change things. I relogged to a new server how do I sell these crates? The RMC sold okay.
Gotta wait 15-20 minutes for the demand to reset
Okay will do...thx
hey wild bill CM is not bought at TDD
you have to go to the admin termial on the other platform
If you're selling CM then you need to go to the admin terminal not the TDD. On Providence Platform
Snap beaten by a whisker
lol Well it's not like there are a lot to choose from 🙂
Ty
Mining planets advice? Im sick of asteroids
I use the ores value chart and only mine Laranite and above.
Most of the products that would sell at an Admin Terminal got changed post Pyro. Pyro does not have TDD terminals so a lot of Stanton Admin sellables are now sold at a TDD. This includes ROC gems and CM. The CM I have is selling at the TDD it's just in small amounts in like 2 of 5 attempts sold 124K apx. the Providence Platform Commodity terminal did not buy it.
heyy what is the status of cargo hauling?
any tips atm
meaning is it efficient enough to compare to others like ERTS money/time
i thought when you refined ores, at a refiney, you could sell them at a TDD? mine is in my ship, and when at the TDD station, it shows i have nothing to sell?
Can you select the ship in the drop down? If not unload to the freight elevator then try your sale again at the TDD.
just spotted this lol, the member contract goes to one less location than the experienced contract and pays more 😄
guess you could stack them if you make sure you remember which cargo belongs to which contract 🙂
yea
I'm just doing a few solar loops today. Strange Hurston does not have small solar missions
sticking to small missions today as I don't want to move big boxes lol
Its confirmed the upgraded mole / prospector bags fix? Will i lose my precious 192scu mole?
how can i call for the hull c load dock in CRU L1 or any lagrange stations
yeah, i see the ship and can select it. but shows nothing to sell
One of the top miner streamers said the pucks are rigid now so these "ore bag upgrades" are being banished from the game. Aside from that one comment I know nothing else.
That status is up to you. If you like cargo hauling and or the missions and rank ups you follow that path. People who get a kick from bounty hunting do that activity. To calculate the rewards as a cash metric would take a lot of work to figure out.
Anyone has high rep in the Covalex for hull c hauling?
I think @hollow jolt has a pretty high rep in hauling
Rn anyone online who has high rep, jst share mission i wl do it and we both earn rep
i wna rep up to senior
I wanted to buy a C2 today and now all of sudden not available for pledging.
I'm saving to get it
Any fellow hauler with high rep
was removed yesterday but will be back at iae
most contract ive seen is 395k at master
do u have hull c missions?
can u share
you need to be on the same rank to share hauling contract
lol
whats the point then
i shared my bounty erts to my frnds they repped up fast
hauling needs real improvements man
I have a mix of S-tier ore and taranite. about 600SCU. where should i take this coming from checkmate? willing to take profit hit to reduce trips
RECLAIMER: There is a way to open the salvage processing door along with other doors and lower the elevator so you can just toss large cargo out....I did this one time - does anyone know how to recreate it?
Sit in pilot seat, use inner thought menu to open all doors, or bind a key to open all doors
Gives you prices and acceptable containers sizes for all locations
Is there a way to identify the bags in 4.1.1 that have quantanium in it in order to put them in the freight elevator first?
Why is the SCU section zero's. Is this supposed to be demand?
sc-trade.tools is another option
Not sure whats going on with UEXcorps SCU charts, but trade tools shows demand available for those locations (Golden Riveria can take upto ~37 SCU of Stileron according to them)
Do I lose fuel within the cargo pod on my starfarer if i store it?
If I remember right, I think that part was the amount of SCUs traded by other players in XY time recently. But I could totally be wrong and UEX is just f*ed right now lol.
where can i sell med supp from hull c?
which nossles do you need for prospector to collect imposible rocks?
Impossible = game thinks your laser is too weak. Max rock mass you can break is ~ 5x max laser power x (1 - resistance %). At optimal distance. You can find rocks that are close to the limit, and by going closer you'll be able to slowly build up charge in them, but some are simply unbreakable without multiple ppl cooperating.
!tradetools
Pretty much any CRU or HUR lagrange station
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
why does this member grind suck so much i just want to use my hull c lol
Trying to die so I get transported to a place, but it keeps putting me back on the station I just delivered at
Backspacing, venting myself, what should I do to get this working?
You can't it's a known bug wait till after the patch drop.
so... just fly back then?
bleck, rented a Taurus to accompany my Pledged Taurus to speed up some routes. Bit annoying that it's buggered, but oh well
hey im kinda new to mining and im using the mole why does every shop not take my containers?
what do you mean by that? I am not familiar with the Mole mining at all but I can say you will need to provide more info for those who do mole mining to help you. For instance what shop are you referring to? Are you trying to refine the orders directly from teh mole? Are you unloading bags into the cargo elevator? Are you on a planet or a moon ? Like where are you trying to do this and what exactly are you doing to sell?
what happens is i mined some ores not sure which tho but when i go anywhere to sell at any of the shops in stanton it says that this shop doesnt take your container and i tried to take the bags off but they never come off for me
What terminal are you going to? Commodity/TDD terminals can't take unrefined materials, only the ore terminals at refineries can.
Currently you can't refine/sell ore unless the bags on a ship. That is changing in 4.1.1, but right now you need to leave them on the mole/prospector/golem
If you want to sell the mined ore directly without refining you need to go to a station with a refinery. Store your Mole, go to the refinery deck, go past the shop and up the stairs there, the terminals on your left will buy your unrefined ore.
Alternatively you can refine your ore at the terminals that will be directly in front of you. Once they are refined you will need a cargo ship to transport them. You can sell this refined ore at the TDD in any city.
alr thx
Also again when asking for help try to be more specific - saying I cannot sell at a shop in stanton is a big ask - try to say which shop your trying to sell at, stanton is the whole system, like pyro. Its just more diff for others to help if they do not know where your trying to sell
we need like a line request form for help with industry stuff... where, which ship, action, item, steps taken, etc... newer players lack the foundational knowledge for this stuff without prompting to seek it, and long term players can't function well without it because of the state the game is in compared to where it used to be
I would say yes & no to that - its hard enough to keep a thread on topic and things change so a no in that regard - but yes to it because, it is hard to ask the right questions to get the right answers when things are changing quite a bit between releases and bugs that come and go or require a slight twist. the best advice I would say a person interested in learning an industrial profession in this game would be to hunt down videos related to it per version/game release. Lots of great videos showing how to sell, mine, etc.
Today alone I've seen over 1,000 scu of abandoned contracted goods. Not knowing about mission timers, common cargo bugs, and not understanding box size limitations on ships at this point... it's easier to say, just watch a video, but even then loads of videos are just crap that never explain anything and feel like a used car commercial.
There are sometimes a handful of good videos, but unless you want to deep dive on streamers, I've always had trouble finding them (cuz I don't want to know anything about streamers other than the current information in one video)
I need to finish writing these tutorials for this stuff... but stuff keeps changing faster than I can keep up anymore
Hey so I know the Hull c is bugged. but is there anyway I can prevent or stop the infintie hailing glitch? I just got my Hull C and it's really annyoing I can't get a mission done
All true, after videos - I would suggest going into the voice chat areas of this discord and find a friend who is into something of interest - I have met a lot of skilled players in there who know how to solo a mole and magically know how to crack even the toughest rocks. This game, offers so many different game play loops - that yeah it can be overwhelming for sure, but hey if it was easy you probably wouldn't be very entertained for long!
Also I think the whole idea of contracted goods is bad in the idea it cannot be stolen or resold by others or even by you elsewhere for a better price (doubtful) and your rep would suffer for it. Anywho, yeah the abandoned contracted goods are leaving lots of entities around too - and that seems like it will hurt the game performance over time, maybe?
is mining with the prospector worth it? i’m planning on buying a new ship and want to do some mining. is mining broken? last time a tried a couple months ago i couldn’t sell anything u mined
Its worth it, but also may need to look at some recent mining videos for refining workarounds.
You can definitely do the loop as long as you can manage the minor workarounds to get refined ore properly transfered to your cargo ship. Its not a major deal breaker for most miners.
ah i see, is there a bug or soemthing with refining? agains it’s been a minute, sorry. thanks for the help
Yeah, it has to do with the refining system not being updated with the cargo refactor, so refined ore still has to be transfered directly onto a ship stored at the station, which has been buggy unless you do the right workaround steps
i see. thanks for the heads up
I refined the ores in the refinery then rented the cutlass black, it says the pick up was completed but when i try to sell the refined ores they're not in my ship, what am i supposed to do about that?
Store and Retrieve you ship
Sometimes the delivery glitches out and takes a few ship retrieval cycles to show up
Assuming you are in the refinery station still that is.
If you already left the refinery with the cutty to a sale location, was the refined material SCU containers in the cutty?
I cycled a few times and found them in cargo containers inside the the cutlass black
I think you should ask yourself what defines "worth it" to you. In terms of making money vs spending time and resources doing it, I would say a ROC mining on aberdeen for feyn is a very nice money maker. Get you 5 extra bags for the ROC, bring a couple of drinks and get at it. Fill all the bags, get yourself a nice mil+. On the other hand, get a prospector and maybe a couple of gadgets, spend some time on regolith fine tuning and learning what your ship can do, swap out for some mole bags, struggle to get them installed (its a pain) and also maybe decide what level of mole bags installation you want to go with as you can get het prospector up to about 80SCU collection volume - beware refine times are insane, then go in search of quantanium and that one special rock that you can use a gadget to break and really enjoy the time and effort - again, I ask what's your definition of "worth it" for some, like myself I enjoy both the ROC and the prospector one for the ease and the other for the complexity respectively. Don't ever let earning in game money, get in the way of a good time! You will lose all progress at one point, so enjoy the ride!
My Reclaimer is borked in my home hanger (orison) it wont store nor can I board it. Do I need to go to like Arc Corp to call it there then back to Orison to see if my hanger works okay?
Does the prospector work? yes, does teh ROC yes
I would try it! but I am not a reclaimer owner and not familiar with any associated bugs/work arounds
I went out to the aesop terminal tried to call a C2 it got destroyed never showed up lol
don't use the terminals in the lobby!
The Reclaimer from hell.
if you need a certain size hanger, call it form teh lobby then immediately store it then go to your correctly sized hangar and call it from there
Normaly I dont just trying to budge this ship away.
oh like get it destroyed?
I can't board it...
yeah I would claim it elsewhere, see what happe3ns
claim times are rough though for that one!
What you're describing sounds like the infinity ship bug. You leave it in the hangar, don't store it, leave, and for some reason, it's there, but also not there. You can't store it, you can't summon it cuz it's right there, and it always comes up on the elevator even when you call another ship.
Once that's happened, that hangar is stuck that way until you destroy it. Shoot it till it blows up, summon something else, send it down, log out, back in, should be fixed
Always always always, store your ship
Is it a bug that my passive mining modules have disappeared, I had them on my helix 1 fine stored ship to refine good, got it out and they're gone
crate doesnt want to go in here
can't sell my Hephaestanite from my hull C
is it dangerous to close hull c spindels while carrying cargo
Can’t wait for the patch so I can start carrying so much cargo with my raft!
can't wait for the patch so we can play with degraded performance for a week
on a serious note I'm also excited that the raft is going to be a great medium sized hauler that you don't lose 30% of the cargo grid if you take anything bigger than 4 scu crates
? It currently supports up to 8s and then 32s
Wait, doesn't it do 16s as well?
Yeah, RAFT uses every size box, I just checked. You just have to mix and match is all
I was referring to most medium cargo ships having 3 high grids which limits you to using <4scu size box's or using >8 and losing the top row.
for example the taurus
Ahh, that's as simple as mixing box sizes. Even the reclaimer elevator has a weird "ceiling" at anything above 3 high, but you can kind of work around it with 8s
I guess the reason it hasn't bothered me is because I'll load a C2 to the brim with 1 SCU crates anyways just to aggravate any would be pirates. And anything extra, I use to pad the expensive stuff, and fill boxes with empty bottles all over the place.
I'm looking forward to filling an Ironclad with 1/8th SCU boxes, filled with empty bottles, in sliding racks so that hopefully some poor moron scans me and crashes the entire server
Finally sketched the GATAC Salvage Ship idea I had. Very rough sketch. See in #imadethis
Is that a revolving cargo grid?
Yes. When one spindle fills, it rotates to line up an empty grid spindle to the ejection point
That’s a great idea. I could see SC being too janky for it right now but that should be a thing.
newish to mining.... what is the feasibility of mining Quant with a Golem?
Whats everyones opinions on the best way to sell CMAT's/RMC from the reclaimer?
Is it better to unload into elevator and store SCU's, then sell, or to try and unload from the reclaimer directly at the TDD/Com stations?
its so hard to unload the reclaimer, I'd just box up everything from the buffer into the ship and then hanger it and sell at TDD from the ship
It's feasible, but also unlikely, and not ideal
they absolutely have to fix that back door
I'm seeing that I managed to grab a couple small rocks of it on Lyria but the roids seem all listed as "impossible"
That's because the laser has reduced power, increased volatility, slower charge, and in general wasn't actually strong enough without the resistance nerf to begin with, without mods, that you need for stability. If you use a gadget for resistance, and active mod for stability, and a passive for power, it's doable, but keep in mind your window will be around 8 pixels if you're lucky
It's a great starter miner, not great for quant though
its okay.. you can tell me... I brought a mule to a horse race
Nah
Try stileron or riccite
Same gimmick, no esplodey
You get really good at managing power in 1% increments
I have 2 modules on the golem atm... focus 3 and something else, I forget which one.
was just playing around thought I'd see how hard it is to get quant for the wikelo missions
You want (I'm not good with fantasy names)
Passive Power +25% -1% window
Active Volatility mitigation
Gadget -50% Resistance
thanks I'll check it out, I've been focusing on salvage for a while, dipping my toes into mining
obviously I have homework
I thoroughly enjoy all industry loops. Happy to help, I'm just bad with names.
Check regolith for stil/ric/quant locations
Check cstone's universal item finder for the right gear and buy locations
will do, need to look up ore prices, no idea which one is worth what yet
Quant/stil/ric are the top. From there, you want stuff that ends in -ite or -ium or -ion etc. And gold. Tungsten, iron, copper, corondum, etc are garbage. Try to avoid scooping them where you can and don't bother refining them for now. Just adds time, not value
roger roger
Just go Surge/Rieger C3, depending on makeup you should be ok. Although I'd gun for Taranite myself; it's more plentiful, easier to mine and valuable enough in it's own right
That Pitman is pretty nice tbh . Not as good as a Helix, but for free, is pretty attractive
Can you sell goods directly from your ship or do you need always to unload them onto the cargo elevator?
I think auto loading works for commodities but I haven’t tried it.
It is extremely buggy but possible on a good server to auto-unload a single commodity that is 100% on grid. If you have different commodities it will definitely fail and bug out.
Ship must be stored.
Do not attempt with a ship that is not stored.
Does anyone have a mole with decent upgrades I could rent from them for the day? Looking to run a two man crew with my buddy but the mole we have rented right now does not allow us to hit anything over 20k in mass...
Any workaround to retrieve ships without blowing up?
You should be able to tractor beam different heads onto the rented mole with the ship ports unlocked (right alt + k)
I’ve had decent luck mining Quant in a golem, personally.
First time was bone stock, but now I’m using Rieger-C2.
Hey guys, I was wondering if there was a way to save this ? 🤣 I went from member to this shamefull spot due to 3 member missions I gave up because of a non-working platform on a planet 👀
Lots of wins for mining!
I'm told that your rep will gradually move back to Neutral if it is bad like that (a day or two), although I have not found that to be the case in my own experience with CFP.
Might have replied to the wrong message?
You can if you store your ship in your hangar and wait for the lights to come back on before leaving. I haven't tried auto-loading multiple cargo types and I'm not falling over myself to give it a try. I can say that I have traded a lot this patch in my C2 using auto-load and have only once had an issue and that was the easily fixed invisible cargo
ooops thanks Deleted it so as not to cause confusion.
I assume you are retrieving your ships at the ASOP in your hangar? If not try that. If you are retrieving in your hangar then I would suggest logging out and then logging back in but in a different region.
can't sell my Hephaestanite from my hull C
@cloud condor what location are you at?
i believe MIC-L5
You can't sell from the Hull C here
Only the 4 LEO and 3 jump points
The only one that takes your commodity seems to be Everus Harbor
ok, i'll try there
4 LEO?
The Orbital stations above the 4 planets
The Hull C can only trade at those and the 3 jump points
And Stanton Gateway in Pyro
ok, thx a lot mate
No worries, these are the only places that have the loading facilities
How do I get the parts out of inventory to do this though
In your hangar there is a freight elevator. Send it down, drag the parts over, send it up. Use a tractor beam to remove the current parts then install the new parts. Be sure to remove them before the rental ends or they'll probably get deleted with the ship.
Ill try, but what if i cant reach my medium hangar?
Summon a medium ship to get to the hangar. If it screws up, claim it, and summon it from the hangar itself
Got it to work thanks, but when I went and put the ship down to withdraw ore into a refinery the ship destroyed making me lose the heads, -200k lol
I don't think that's related to their installation, but yeah it is a risk that you will lose the parts on destruction of the ship. Sucks that the elevator did you dirty!
For the hauling missions that have one pick up and two delivery locations, how do you tell which boxes are which? By how you pack it? I'm thinking of trying a run where I pick up at Everus, drop half off at Baijini, pick up another load, deliver everything to Seraphim, Seraphim to Everus, repeat.
you shouldn’t worry. you should just put them all together
if you want to do hauling, baijini to area 18 is quick and depending on ship you can make like 400k per run off rookie contracts
you helped me last time. do you know why my cargo just vanished while i haul and then becomes a commodity? is there a way around it
No idea. Probably a known issue on issue council
gotcha
anyone has a Hull c mission in cargo hualling we need your help to get boosted in rank lol
is it currently possible to run larger mining operations where multiple miners dump ore bags onto a big transport ship which transports it to the refinery?
In 4.1.1 it should be possible
And now it isnt because of the bags, right?
Also is there any way to attach the argo ore pods onto the prospector? As it seems they are clipping throug the elevator and falling down when trying to tractor.
There is a way but it's tricky to do and it has been patched out in 4.1.1 Look up a you tube site for Risbo the Blade he details the process.
So are we unable to run a transport + golem currently?
Myself and a buddy have been trying to run a system where I have a hull A and he a golem. I bought 4 empty drake ore bags, he would fill up, then we would switch my empty for his full.
Well I got back to the refinery place, first trying to just store my ship going down to the refinery to find nothing available respawning my ship to see it deleted the ore bags.
I then tried to do it by placing the full ore bags on the cargo elevator and it still does not give me the option to refine anything despite them being in the warehouse.
Refining from the local inventory will not be available before next patch.
For now, you can only do it from the stored mining ship.
I see...
You can stack bags, but to refine them, you need to pull the ship out and swap the bags.
Hey Guys, is it worth it to bring a boremax or smthn like it to MOLE mining operations?
I usually only use Sabir
Same, tho I often use Optimax too
Im more like " lest see how big can i break " rn.
hi guys is the cargo trading still profitable ?
To help dispel the myth for a little longer, from what we know, you cannot "ride" a high level cargo contract for extra rep. If you can't take the mission yourself, you can't be given the mission by a friend.
This applies mostly to cargo missions right now
What would trigger the mole to fill the compressed bags ?, if i fill the 96 SCU of current 8 bags, take them off and place them in a C2, how do the other ones fill ? Is it automatic ?
Need help mining
You don't. That's not implemented yet, the folded bags are just here as placeholders.
Oh I see, thank you
Thanks.
Is there any way to mark a beacon for an scouted or worked on deposit? Lets say i have a 250 SCU Taranite rock which ive cracked but i have only 32 SCU capacity in my prospector. I would like to get back as soon as a refine what i have, can i somehow QT there?
I understand the next patch has improved marking of your ship if you die, etc and some miners plan to use that as a way to mark and return to your ship or vehicle.
How should I set up a golem
I was planning on getting one too and have this video saved

In this Star Citizen Beginner's Guide, we’ll dive into how to make money mining with the Drake Golem. The Drake Golem is an excellent ship for earning credits, and I’ll cover everything you need to start mining with a Drake Golem. I’ll go over what materials to mine, where to find them, and how to sell your ore.
Transform Your Webcam into...
I have a question too lol
I've been using the hull C for only a little bit now and have figured out the workarounds for most issues. However, one issue seems completely unfixable. The one that tons of people get where you accept a contract, call cargo at the station to load, and pull into the box and align properly, but it just gets stuck on "commencing cargo transfer" but no cargo actually loads and it just spams the ATC Hailing noise repeatedly.
This time it loaded one single box and starting doing it so it's just stuck there.
I spent so long grinding to buy this as my first aUEC ship purchase and I havent even made half my money back yet, so it's super disappointing
Big question: how to transfer refined materials? Select Storage Option doesnt show anything, not the prospector, nor the refinery station cargo.
You need a cargo ship to transfer to. After 4.1.1 you can warehouse them instead
finally found my first stileron and it eats the rocks when I collect D:
Who wants to team up on some cargo contracts to build rep and make cash?
I'm half way through "senior Covalex delivery guy" I want make it to Master an pay off that stupid Hull-C I wasted my aUEC's on
We can work together and throw boxes and do more contracts. or share contracts with with each other and double it that way? I'm open to suggestions though
anyone doing cargo hauling member ranks ? i need some people to do it with me lol
I've been seeing a fair people talking about the Orion from RSI, and not realizing how it will actually work. So I wanted to take some time to write an explanation. Whether or not someone will read this, I don't really mind either way. To start off this explanation, you have to understand that the Orion is not just a ship, but a Mining Platform. This means, you are expected to keep the Orion out in space where it will mine for a long, long time. This is also why it has a relatively small crew size, for the ship itself.
This brings me to the biggest part of what people don't seem to understand about the Orion, the fact that it will need ships to come to it and take metal/ore away from the Orion to sell or refine elsewhere if its refinery is too full. These same ships will also bring supplies and amenities to the Orion, such as Fuel, food and more. This is because the Orion is not meant to dock at a station unless it needs heavy repairs or otherwise. It should also be expected that the Orion's Refinery System may not accept manual insertion of ores without mining them. So don't expect to rent out refinery services for the Orion. For this reason, it may be desired to have an Expanse Sister Ship that hangs around the Orion. This however depends on if players will be able to attach mining bags/etc. from other ships in place of the Orion's.
With the various mining heads and tractor beams affixed to the Orion, the ship will be barely moving. Whoever pilots the ship will have one of the least active jobs, doing micro adjustments every now and again, and then leaving it for a while. So when you are considering the Orion for purchase, make sure you understand all of this information, and aren't just buying it because it's a big mining ship. Without understanding it all, especially the fact it needs ships coming and going to/from it, it will be basically just a giant stain on your ledger that has no way to be used.
It would be interesting to see it in action, like being hired to deliver it's ore to a location
Theres a lot of game loop that just get created when such a ship would get released
Need someone who can crack open a 29k mass rock. Larger profit to split.
Did you try triple surge?
Thanks for that, i am one of those waiting for it.
Is there a way to complete hauling contracts with multiple pickup locations that have messed up objectives saying all the cargo originates from one location?
The mission text still shows the correct locations and the cargo is actually located there, but upon delivery it only registers one objective complete because I didn't pick up the other cargo from the one location listed by the objective...not that I could because that location doesn't have the cargo...
Would offloading cargo from the other locations into the one in the objective, lowering the elevator and bringing it back up change the pickup location?
Dropped down to Junior from Member because of this 😮💨
Should have just ignored the contract after seeing only 1/4 objectives complete and logged off I guess.
can anyone get the hull c experienced mission from everus to pyro gateway? i can only seem to find the one from everus to magnus
Think we will ever get missions to deliver cargo that are like, pick up in Stanton then drop off some where in pyro?
hey, havent been on since before the pyro update is there a channel that can help i need to make money and get up to date
Can't sell ROC gems anywhere in Pyro, huh?
How do you get resources out the refinery? I picked a storage location but I can't click collect
You have to use the options below the finished order, not the bottom left where you start the jobs
@south basin try regolith
Use #looking-for-session instead
i was at experienced and i had to submit 1 contract with a quarter of the cargo handed in because the cargo elevator bugged now im back to fucking junior
why is the rep loss for covelax so high?
It's not clear if it was intentionally that high, but it's supposed to be resolved for 4.1.1, submitting a contract with under 50% delivered can cause fail conditions, it's better if you have lower just to abandon the contract and cut your losses
There's no penalty for abandonment
Does the vulture fit in the C2?
!fit
Or the only way to make an operation its the starfarer ? ( if its still working )
Hmmm chatgpt said it fits
Heya! idk if it's the right channel but, do we know if the raft price IG is gonna increase with its buff?
We don't know. #ccu-and-fleet-advice would be a more appropriate channel but doesn't matter much.
It should not upgrade. It's not a buff, it's a rework.
aight thanks! and i'll take notes for the channel too
Never knew this existed, thanks! Unfortunately it's the same as uexcorp and no sale spots in Pyro D:
Sucks too because it's way easier to mine there.
Idk if its easier but having to cross to stanton only to sale gems its terrible
Mega terrible. Unsure why it's like that right now.
I thought there was one site at like an outpost situation. Plus it might be a smaller bank payout.
Patches still wipe out refinery orders correct?
Most undoubtably. Especially this patch as they have done a minor update to refineries to push your refined ore to the local inventory.
did you actually find a solution?
Disclaimer: I have not tested this, but the Hull C appears to get fully bugged out if it loads any container smaller than 32SCU while still having 32SCU boxes to load. My understanding is that you need to ditch the small container (i.e. in your picture there's a tiny box) and then return to the loading area so the bigger boxes can be stacked on the grid properly.
I think I figured out it's something else entirely
This issue has not happened for me now for 9 runs in a row, which is the most i have ever been able to do.
What I think caused it for me was simply tabbing out of the game. If I dont tab out of the game to watch YT or something while I wait, it works. So now i just let go of kb and mouse and sit there on my phone
Strange, box size has not been an issue for me I've been loading/unloading those just fine now
I know I could probably garner this from a more thorough read of the release docs, so please pardon my asking anyway:
1.) do reclaimers/salvager ships currently have issues with disappearing scrap/RMC?
2.) are said issues supposed to be patched in 4.1.1?
Essentially I’m asking if the salvaging game loop will see any enhancements in 4.1,1
I ask because I know hauling has been borked for a while and assumed the same might be true for salvage. Really hoping for enhancements/polish since I’m looking to sit crew in a reclaimer next patch
i havent done much salavage but hull c works decently well and they are bugfixing the loading zones in the next patch to help smooth it out more
just have to grind covalex to exp rank and you get 700k missions
Disappearing scrap? How specifically?
Sorry, my brain is running on fumes. Here’s a better way to ask the question: in 4.1 does salvage/mining face any of the same problems with offloading material as hauling does with offloading/selling cargo?
Currently no, other than auto-loading your goods off the ship via TDD terminal, but that's shared with selling cargo. No word on if it's addressed.
@floral lichen
The autoloading cargo thing has been a holdover from before cargo was physicalized.
Got it! Thanks Mike, cheers and o7
That answers my question perfectly
Any tip to find the vulture bed radial menu? Cant find it to log out
It can be tricky to pop up and a bigger core armor can affect the f prompt to show. Otherwise keep holding down F key with Mouse 1 and slowly pan back and forth across the scene. Release and try again multiple times and the option should pop up. May be server dependant.
4.1.1 is potentially dropping to LIVE tonight. Clear all Refinery Jobs
I would encourage, as a precaution, to go ahead and strip armor (they claim it's fixed) and also claim all ships to home base
Either Ariel or Aberdeen have an outpost to sell your gems
Or Live dangerous and roll the dice on what content survives!
Let's be honest, we're rolling the dice either way
I this unfamiliar, strange, feeling ILW might actually be halfway decent this year.
I know, I know, I'm going to lay down until the feeling passes. SOON™
I'm out of town working so unable to do this. What risks are there? I might lose my armour and equipment (that's no big deal to me). What risk if there if I don't have my ships at home port?
You can lose components/ weapons/ entire ships. No solid way of preventing it though
All updates bring inherited risk like Ian mentions but since they claim to have fixed the armor bug, you now don't have to worry about losing all your equipped gear. We all have some ritual we preform to appease the upgrade kami-samas but it is a crapshot for the most part.
I can make a claim for these ships though? Or do they just disappear? And I presume it doesn't effect pledges ?
Just ships bought in game, you'll keep pledged stuff. Seems pretty uncommon to lose ships entirely but it does happen. One of my org-mates lost his sl max last patch that he had bought in game about a week prior, so we pooled money to get him a new one. They can't be claimed, they're just gone like you never bought them.
Ah gotcha. Nothing I can do now but at least I know for the future. Thank you.
Damn i just bought the vulture 1 week ago
Yeah, over the weekend I decided to cap LIVE play, so I prepped everything for a patch drop. I hope the "save refinery jobs to inventory" works because I have lost weeks of work because of refinery jobs vanishing when loading them to the ship
Make sure to claim it to your base world. Then spawn it then stow it
I would say, remove a component, retrieve, stow, restore component, retrieve then final stow. This normally writes on the persistency table
Will try. Ty
I am talking about a Pyro outpost...
Hey guys, am I right in thinking as of how things stand in 4.1.1 the Hull B is just a far better scu per $ them the raft even after the raft got its cargo buff?
I love the raft aesthetic but the Hull B just seems better on paper
The difference is you can fly the raft now and there is no timeline on a Hull B. If you pledge for a raft, you can always melt it later for the hull b.
I must admit I wrote that thinking the Hull B was in the game. My mistake.
Barring all of that, get your hull B, and save the 3.4 million aUEC to fly the RAFT until the hull B launches
Ah, ya. If that were the case, Hull B would likely be the play, but for now the only available Hull ships are the A and the C
I've already got 2x CCU upgrades for the raft as I hope it will get a price increase, but that's more for the CCU channel.
Yeah I was just wondering if there were any downsides I was not seeing/ future features of the raft that may make it more valuable to me as a player
Biggest differences will be that the Hull B has double the cargo but no Tractor Beams (subject to change)
Hull B is likely to get a considerable price increase when it finally releases so probably put it in a much higher bracket, that said so probably will the RAFT lol
Gotcha. Will keep that in mind if I see it pop up for sale.
It's definitely one to hold onto a CCU for lol. Next opportunity will be IAE
The whole reason for this is I want to try and get into the self bought goods hauling when the new patch drops (rather than the contact hauling) and I'm getting myself a hauling ship as I refunded the Taurus.
Will the raft have enough storage to make those trips worth It ?
stored commodities are usually wiped
Of course, anything that isn't in long term persistency
oh, right that feature is coming next patch. Sorry, I read your post as you saying that you had sent everything to inventory to prep for the patch...
Anyone have any ideas what these are?
never mind, they are for the new combat missions
yep, pew pew zones
Nothing about refining in patch notes. I thought they fixed it
This release is highly focused on Mining, it says,....
But I only see one fix for nodes
They said mining not refining
But fr thats the only mining fix and they say its highly focused on mining? Makes no sense
Yeah. And cargo pods
That's it
Oh sorry that's a known issue, not a fix
New hairstyles though!
👱♀️
there are usually lots of changes that don't make it into the patch notes too
We will see
mining stuff was mentioned in patch watch
Pods fit on freight elevators properly now, and you can refine from station inventory
and send finished jobs to station inventory
Ok good
has anybody already tried to see if the prospector bag cheat still works? heard rumors it was taken away and fixed with 4.1.1. Would make me seriously consider swapping pledges to the golem then
Are gems selling okay at TDD's???
4 and 8 scu boxes snap to argo raft grid offset, but 1scu boxes seem fine?
can persons hauling ore pods now refine them properly from their cargo or is it still only possible to refine from a mining ship????
it doesnt
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Oh, ok! Thats wonderful 🙂
Well you can still have 16 SCU more with the argo pods on the Prosp, but yeah, no more 80 SCU
i reckon then the same glitch was also fixed on the mole...?
i would suspect that
you cant now move the upper, squeezed bags with the tractor
at least on a prosp
ahhhh i see!
So can we sell out of ROC bags on this patch?
The answer is no.
can you unload and load a hull c at the same time
what and where is good to run now adays? im just getting back in
Seems like cargo grids are messed up this patch, just a heads up for anyone who wants to try the new RAFT, it's a pain with the misaligned grid nonsense
Its hard to say, check https://uexcorp.space/ and run some simulations. Keep in mind youre risking your money for those trips, and the bigger the better as a general rule. Idk if it works but beryl was always a nice legal commodity to transport
Okay, I will take a look. And yep I'm aware I risk losing money, I think that's some of the appeal. Thank you
Also idk if autoload works. You might want a safe place to work and time to move boxes. ATLS its always a good tool
I must admit I was not aware there was an autoload feature? I have spent hours loading hundreds of 1 scu boxes up for contract hauling agh
Only when it comes to commodity trading. Hauling contracts can be load only manually.
Sell or refine?
Phew, that makes me feel better.
Sell out of ROC bags. The gems.
Oh ROC bags, allright. Sorry.
I hope they add hauling auto load soon, it's a pain for later ranked missions to manually load
someone had luck with equiping or dropping mining modules on the ground or are they bugged?
Yep, all good!
I think they need something less autonomous then auto load but less hassle then loading 1 item at a time. Maybe auto load but you have to designated the box locations on a console before hand. Or be able to chain items on a tractor beam..
With auto loading hauling, they said it'll cost money and it'll be pricey
Ah gotcha, I wasn't aware of that.
I like that though. Makes autoloading not just the default option.
they just need to increase the rewards so it's worth doing the bigger hauls in a group
with 2 or 3 people loading it makes a big difference
Interdimensional hauling needs to be worth at least 2 mil percontraxt due to the fuel costs
Rewards based off of time taken to deliver would be cool. Would encourage the use of a loading team and splitting the load between two ships rather than 2 trips if you were to share it with a friend.
Is hull c hauling misson is a bit broken still it only took 6 out of 1892 of cargo and it will not take any more
They have been bugged, it's at the bottom of priority so be a bit before fixed
great
Between hauling, mining, and trading commodities, it seems hauling yields the most profit per single run - even at the junior rank. What am I doing wrong? I have seen amd followed so many guides that are now out of date.
hull c is pretty buggy but if you find a server/space station with working cargo loading and know the work arounds its manageable. I would never do commodity trading but the missions are good. There is a guide someone linked a few days ago with good advice on the hull c work arounds.
hey guys, is there a way to refine ores without landing my prospector? i tried detaching ore pods and using a cargo to go refine them, but the station only allowed me to select my prospector as source
Anyone else seeing cargo being buggeD? the raft's grid seems to be off and stacking cargo is misaligned preventing total utilization
In theory its possible in this patch. I say in theory cause i didnt try myself but it was one of the highlights
@unborn gorge what do you mean with " doing wrong "
What did you expect and whats your issue?
I need a 2 person mole loadout
2 helix with 2 Reiger-C3 and Focus 3.
The price Area18 pays for 120 SCU of Laranite purchased at Wala, for example, only gets you about 32k profit. But according to the video I watched, it should be about 90k. I tried mining on Daymar and never found anything but rock minerals no one wants. And my ROC just wasn't cutting it. I never did figure out how ti put a hofstede on it because all the videos I found are from players who failed to do so, despite promising they could. Is that even going to work on those rocks that say "impossoblr" even though the tutorial claims it will? It just seems Haulingnis the only thing that works most of the time, with the least amount of buy-in. My question is - how are others making aUEC if not hauling?
And hazard
yes there a cargro grid alignment issue happening across a lot of ships, CIG is consolidating reports under this one: STARC-165428
Anyone who’s been around for a while - do you think this grid issue is something that can be hotfixed or will we likely be waiting until the next major patch?
I would hope a hotfix. The issue wasn’t in 4.0.1
Same. It has been on the PTU for over 20 days tho 😬
I don't think it will take a whole patch cycle, but I am concerned that they never added it to known issues in the patch notes.
Right? A little frustrating
They have recognised the issue with the cargo grids
How’s the new raft update been?
Not great with the grid being broken
So me melting my Starlancer for a raft may have been too hasty then? Or is it a problem for all cargo grids?
It's definitely not just the raft, seen ppl complaining about it on other ships
Is it just when autoloading?
As far as I can tell every single grid in the game is affected, ship and elevator. Auto loading or manual, doesn’t matter
Snafu
Welp that sucks.
You can refine from freight elevators now yeah?
Oh hell yes. Just lovely.
And their response said the issue is being investigated for a future patch.
Does that imply we won't see it as a hotfix?
If so then it won't be any time soon.
Wait for next month I guess
Hull A grid seems to be okay though, so at least you've got something to move your goods with
Does this offset make this just more difficult or does it break any gameplay loop that requires putting boxes on cargo grids?
Does anyone know the button to change how ship tractor beams function? I remember seeing something in a youtube comment last month but I forgot what it was
Q
thank you!
wasn't breaking my RAFT necessarily - was very finnicky and unpleasant however. Others have reported their ship grids as unusable
Well, ill try to compress the answers. Commodity prices can change depending on demand. Be skeptical with yt videos, more like help or tips, not something carved in stone. Idk about your ROC but it seems to work for others, if you want some mining try renting a prospector or crew a MOLE. Hauling contracts works pretty well and brings decent / great cash, depending on route and ship you use. Salvage loops works ( im using a vulture daily ) and its a constant income. How much would you expect to earn / hour?
Hello everyone been a few months,
Would just like to ask if there is any big updates for salvaging?
Ty
Nope, salvage has no changes apart from making it take longer and pay less lol
Damn anything with component prices yet?
Nope still not worth selling only to use yourself
Welp tyvm
broke cargo hauling now I have to find another way to make money, this breaks my spirit.
how did you guys like the MAX for hauling. It kinda annoyed me with the side compartments being hard to place stuff.
how do you use hull C in hauling missions? You cant get it inside a hangar with freight elevator?
Theirs a cube that it makes you go to, but Hull C is heavily bugged with hauling so I'd avoid
oh they enabled autoloading and unloading? you couldnt do that back in 3.24 for hauling missions
So I plan on stacking bags later in prospector and seeing how many bags I can get stored in 1 hour just to see how much better mining is and how much faster
For hull C specifically yes they added auto loading and unloading but it's bugged which is why other ships haven't gotten that feature yet
I prefer mining over hauling but they significantly buffed the hauling mission rewards, like by x5 wtf
i want to climb the ladders to see whats up at the top
so yeah the grids are kinda shifted and sometimes overlapping
I guess take missions a lot lower than your capacity and avoid ships that have tight loading areas
have to be careful if you snap stuff overlapping with other cargo or ship geometry it can get yetted around lol
noticed the same on my C1
it seems like all grids
I'll have to lay off the medium senior jobs for now as it's always a tight load in the cat
it's fine I'm going to be grinding scrip lol
Just do Hull A hauling for now, that ships grid is still fine
is pyro a better place to mine than stanton if it is where should i mine
Pyro is good for Roc mining but you have to come back to Stanton to sell, makes for a nice adventure. For actual mining sorry I'm not the expert
My Raft was usable, but you just have to be aware of which grid spots are functional. Once I put 4 8 SCU boxes up at the front of the grid, I just lined the other 8 SCU boxes up to them. Also, there are apparently different grids for 1 SCU, 2 SCU, and 4/8 SCU boxes. The 2 SCU and 4/8 SCU are offset, but in different ways. The 1 SCU I've heard is actually still lined up right.
Functionally, I didn't have any trouble using the full width of the Raft's cargo grid with 8 SCU boxes, even though it was offset. Visually though they clip into bits of the ship. I didn't try using the rear most spots and didn't have the ship fully loaded. I also was not using autoloading, as I was doing hauling missions.
Cellin in crusader is where I always mine, best moon with best spread of ores, and then I refine at Cru-l1
For stanton
One other annoying quirk, you can accidently grab the freight elevator floor with a tractor beam. That is useless and shouldn't really be possible. :b
For space mining, I like Stanton better. Planet/moon mining in Pyro I haven't really done enough of to compare.
Is there an issue with autoloading...? Ive just bought 528 in 24 SCU containers + 64 in 16 SCU + 8 SCU and only the 528 in 24 SCU containers were loaded the rest is missing...
craft is C2 Hercules
XTR-XL mining module has 25% window size now. Can someone tell me what happened to the focus 3 then???
hey guys! can anybody with a large ship help me to open/spawn a large hangar for my friend and I at CRU-L5? We wanted to do a trade run and came with the RAFT, but then I bought 32SCU containers for it - and guess what, the damn RAFT gets medium hangars but the elevators in there cant f* bring up 32SCU containers! who the f* was drunk designing that... so now my bought cargo is stuck in the storage and I cant bring it up in a medium hangar and I don't have any large ship to spawn a large hangar there.
@glass chasm still need help?
Yeah! 😦
Ok fr me in-game, same name. Finishing up the new hotfix patch soon
What ship can do autoloading?
If you don't want to manually load cargo you don't really want to play Star Citizen Cargo
how are everyone's cargo grids post hot fix? my raft is still wonky
Just a quick shoutout for @chrome verge who was super kind and friendly to just help me out with the damn cargo being stuck, so I could recoup my losses after paying for and taking over the cargo. May your day be blessed, sir, and shall you make a fine (albeit small) profit out of that cargo load. I appreciate you and your help despite the bug riddled game right now! O7
When buying mixed sized cargo and using autoload you can't just buy them one after the other. Buy one size then select a different inventory in the terminal (say the station), then select your ship and buy the next size then select the station inventory. Repeat this till you have bought all your different sizes.
The cargo grid of your ship doesn't update with how much is used when you buy. That is why you select another inventory. This worked for me in 4.1 with a C2 of 20x32 and 28x2.
Thank you very much, thats what i thought could be the issue. I ve buyed the whole cargo one after another.
Unfortunately the missing cargo is gone for good. I blame the stations for not paying their cargo loaders well enough. 🙂
@glass chasm How many 32's were you trying to bring up on the elevator? Having asked that maybe it was to do with the cargo grid bug. Anyway I hope the solve fix that as I use my Rafft a lot and was looking forward to throwing 6x32's on it real quick.
Does the ROC work for collection resources? I'm breaking nodes but it wont collect shit. I have to get out and pick up. Yes I'm switching modes.
1
and also: forget about it, the raft grid is SOOO off, its hideous. I was so hyped for the update and bought it just before - im doen with the raft entirely for the time being. it is hidedous af to try and load smaller than 32SCU containers on it, and 32 SCU containers dont fit into the elevators that the med hangars hold - but the raft spawns in med hangars. its fucked up and ridic.
Does the ROC work for collection resources? I'm breaking nodes but it wont collect shit. I have to get out and pick up. Yes I'm switching modes.
I am struggling, where the frack can I sell roc gems? I tried the tdd, shubin mining facilities, and hdms locations
32 SCU boxes fit fine in the medium hangar freight elevators…
Place them in long ways going left to right, not front to back, and they clip in perfectly fine.
it's about bringing them UP the elevator after you BOUGHT them. the elevator gives an error, "mass exceeded".
I retrieve 32’s via the medium elevator almost every play session. Is there a specific type of material you’re finding doesn’t work?
I.e. I bring 32 SCU’s of e’tam back up the Grim Hex elevator for sale at CRU-L4, as that’s the only place that buys the 32’s in Stanton.
I know, me, too. That's why I was so pissed! It was a simple set of 6 Gold 32SCUs.
20 minute queue to land at Area18????
Maximum
Each player in queue has 100sec to get in/out, and they're all more likely to use 20-40sec of that
....but yeah, that's what I would expect.
why is gem mining good in pyro compared to stanton?
Theres any way to know the commodity prices and stock? Id like some old school hauling
The commodity price alert was removed?
sc trade tools
uex corp
gotta use 3rd party websites
anyone got a good guide for hauling that explains things as if i dont know anything to begin with?
You accept contract, you land at pick up point, load cargo into ship manually, fly to drop off point, land and unload cargo into freight elevator manually.
There's nothing more to hauling contracts.
You cannot use cargo that's not from your contract as a replacement, you cannot use auto loading (except Hull C), and you can stack contracts but if drop off locations are different you have to keep in mind which container comes from which contract
would it make since the buy a taurus as my first in game bought ship for cargo hauling missions (prob will do some bounty's with it too for loot those ships)
Taurus is a very solid choice yeah. You can also rent it if you want to go for something bigger more expensive later down the way.
atm i just keep renting the c1 so i would like to buy a ship at some point XD
Can't go wrong with a Taurus
atm i use the c1 to stack the 6 direct planetary missions so i get 300k in like every 30min thats prob the best i can do right now?
or is there a faster way with hauling
It's a very versatile ship, can do just about anything
Hey, I'm leveling red wing missions in pyri.. i'm rookie level, but only intern missions are showing. Is this a bug?
Looks solid for C1
whats the best place to go mining with the geo?
alr ty i will keep doing this method then
Is there a workaround for hauling contract cargo boxes not appearing in my warehouse?
@soft ravine keep in mind higher rep contracts also brings more rep, so better to do that for rep grinding
Yeah but atm I rather grind for money so I can afford the taurus faster once I get that I will focus on getting rep more efficiently
A TDD is the best spot. Providing the patch drop did not mess anything up maje sure the Gems are not in another container in the main hanger inventory view...
CIG wants players to spend more time in Pyro for testing purposes. Also, gems need a good server for them to spawn. Try Aberdeen...
They need to incentify Pyro more tbh, keep people out of Stanton it's like 550 in Stanton and 50 in Pyro at the moment 😄 (of course that's a lot to do with the new content)
They should have put the Align and Mine stuff in Pyro
Makes more sense with it being run down
Would be cool to see a Pyro version of Jumptown.
You can also rent the taurus and push your contracts to the next size, if needed
that would be an option too yes
i might actually do that yeah cuz that way i can also see if i like the ship or not
The raft was upgraded this patch, its also great for hauling, clean grid
In theory it will be good but aren't the grids messed up rn?
Or did they hotfix that already?
`Why can't i equip enemy armor? Do i have to loot it into a crate or something first?
There was a hotfix but they said it needs to be client side AND server side so it might take some time to fully implement, at least that’s how I read it
Oh good to know, hopefully it will be sorted for the weekend then.
Yeah, my RAFT grid was still scuffed as of last night after the fix
I can't wait to start using the buffed raft. The Argo aesthetic goes hard imo
I think this morning patch fixed it, didnt try myself tbh
Guess I'll just have to make a feedback thread to get them to change the railen loaner, since they updated the loaner matrix:
A bit upset they didn't change it in the update 20ish minutes ago.
Learning to mine a bit with a rent prospector. If I want to make several trips before refining can I do that? How do I offload my shit into the storage factility?
Is there a guide on what lasers can mine what
In theory you could just remove the saddle bags, but I'm not sure I'd do that. Just run the refinery for each trip (faster, easier, etc). No limit on refinery jobs and you don't have to pull the job until you wan to.
Find Red Monster SC for mining info and help
I don't recall if they let you swap components on the rental. You may be locked to default setup
Anyone know if the starfarer can fit or " dock ", a golem or vulture? Or both?
Definitely not a vulture, haven't tried a golem
You can manually swap parts, but not from the VLM. Also, if you don't swap them off after the rental expires, they're gone
So I just got back into mining after a few years. For mining quant what do I need? I have a prospector
prospector should work fine, might need some modules for the bigger quant asteroids but i haven't done asteroid mining in awhile
I prefer planetside mining. But I mean like what’s my shopping list look like. Like mining head, modules ect
i believe mh1? fits on prospector and then either surge, focus and forel or 3 torrent 3's for modules
Will just passive modules work? Or do I have to use active ones?
passive should work fine i imagine, you can also grab some mining gadgets to float out and place on the rocks to make them easier to break iirc
Which gadgets would be good to grab? And those are the ones I can put in a backpack right?
i like to grab sabirs and boremax's usually
ik you can attach one to your backpack but dunno if they fit inside backpacks
Don't attach them to your backpack, that's dangerous currently. Put them inside the backpack. Heads/modules/gadgets are up to you. There's no one answer. Some people want Helix for bigger rocks, some want focus for bigger window, it's up to you
I would like to be able to crack bigger rocks rather then hunt and peck for the smaller ones
So you'll probably want high power, low resistance, managed instability, and be using active modules in conjunction with passive ones
If I mine quantum and then remove the pods from the ship will it still blow up?
If the pods are stored in your warehouse or inside a stored ship, no.
Otherwise, yes
If you are mining Quant, your best bet is to just take the ship back to the refinery. Most cargo ships having to load, unload, etc., is just wasting time you don't really have generally speaking. For mining literally anything else, using a cargo ship to swap bags is a good idea, but not with Quant mining
So what would a good mining head be for that? And the active/passive ones I should be using?
You probably want a Helix I for the head, for modules, you likely either want ReigerC3 and a Surge, or Surge and something to control instability (name eludes me at the moment). For gadget, you likely want a Sabir and a Boremax. If the rock is too big, use Sabir, otherwise, use Boremax
Are refinery jobs working?
I'm going to refine for my first time ever and it says this shit is 22 hours lol
So it will run when I'm off? Can i run multiple jobs?
Yes and yes
Ok. Appreciate the advice
No worries, feel free to explore too. Use cstone.space to see what effects each thing has, and where to get them
Last question @past fractal when it is completed does it just turn into a SCU can that I can move around? What is the end process
When its done, you pick the completion target. Either a ship with a cargo grid, or the local warehouse. Either way, you'll need a cargo ship to transport it to a TDD to sell.
How should you outfit a mole for multi-crew mining
That depends on what you want to mine
Ok so I can just keep storing stuff in the local warehouse and then do a mass sell
Tier 1s and the occasional Quantanium on cellin
Yes
For mining Quant, you generally want a blend of power, control, and filtration on a MOLE
Thus you would set up each head differently with the idea being using all three at once
Only one head will scoop though, keep that in mind
Caan you put multiple filters on one head then
Yes
Oh cool
For the filter head, you want a 3 slot head
for the power head, you want a helix with Reiger-C3 or an active power module
For the control head, you want instability active module, and window size
I typically do Rieger C3 but I'm not sure what to put with the other slots
check cstone.space for a full list of modules and effects, and buying locations
take the time to build carefully. A good setup will carry you far
you might also want gadgets for instability, cluster factor, or resistance management
What's the point in active modules because you can only use them limited times
They have limited uses, but the effects are far more powerful than passives
I typically carry an optimax gadget and a sabir
Can I solo the mole if I 'm just mining the first shit I see and selling it raw? I'm just kind of messing around with new ships and learning
they tend to be cheaper too
You can solo the mole
it takes some getting used to, and you only get one laser
You still want a team setup when solo'ing though
for finicky rocks, the control head, for big rocks, the power head, for scooping, the filter head
I gotcha
Has anyone got a loadout saved for the mole I can use as guidance
With the prospector can I just store my ship and store the goods in it and then do a big refinery job or sell off?
I'll type mine out here, one sec
with the prospector, it is advised to remove the bags if you want to refine later so you can go back to mining, but that is kind of pointless
so just mine, land store, start refine job repeat
basically
MOLE Loadout
Head 1 - Power
- Helix II
-
- Reiger-C3
-
- Surge Module
-
- Reiger-C3
- This put your active module on 2, which is where I like it, you do you though
Head 2 - Control
- Hofstede-S2
-
- Focus III
-
- Lifeline Module
Head 3 - Filter
- Impact II
-
- FLTR-XL
-
- FLTR-XL
-
- FLTR XL
Gadgets
- Sabir (For big rocks)
- Boremax (For unstable rocks)
- Optimax (For extremely high percent rocks)
Hope that helps
How are you putting multiple riegers on? Last I tried on my prospector it didn't work
Different heads have differing numbers of module slots
My golem had 2 slots (ik I said prospector I forgot it was the golem I tried it on)
I was able to put 2 on the Golem
save the loadout after adding each module
Granted, putting them on a Golem is kind of a waste...
You'd be better off with 1 Surge and 1 Focus III or 1 Surge and 1 Lifeline
How are the cargo grids looking rn?
Haven't tested, the rollout of the hotfix was live, so it'll take several days to hit every server properly
Gotcha
How is it a waste?
The Golem has a built in Resistance negative that cannot be undone. So adding power is having less effect than you think it is
On my prospector I use a rieger as well I also use a focus III though because I thought I couldn't put 2 riegers on
Unless something changed in like, the last two days that I'm not aware of yet, I can put up to 3 Reigers on some heads
Ik I can now but atm I'm messing with mods to see what I enjoy using on my prospector and I'm thinking if using an active mod to use for the big rocks
Active mods have the benefit of more power, being much cheaper, and once you learn how to manage them, being much more effective overall
It's that learning curve though that makes people shy away from them
I just didn't see the point in limited uses but I'll give them a try
