i did the prospector rental until I could buy one - was quick!
Not much I can do in a Mustang. Can't do cargo related stuff, until weapons are upgraded, not the best at PVE fighting
Though I can manage
I will also do the 890J missions
Merc, 890J, killing animals
Etc
1 more cargo run of goods and then to salvage I go
Side note, would be nice to see VR back in the game
For the second time today, I tried mining with a ship. Went to Hurston, and while there my ship glitched out or something cause it wasnt at my hanger like the ASOP said. Tried again and it arrived ok. Procedes to the station near hurston that has a refinery, only to get there, enter the refining terminal, and see my ship stores empty.
Is this something that happens very often? Is it something being worked on by the deva? Any help is appreciated.
lets start with the asop terminal - was this in the lobby?
secondly - what ship were you mining in?
Any predictions when the 4.1.1 update will release to live?
dunno - hopefully I will have refined all of my quantanium and sold it by then...
Ya that is why i'm asking so I don't put any more jobs on
Man...
I got a total of 47 people in my shard and only 1 person (me) in the server l
Also with us being able to actually use the Ore bags now how will know if we have Quantanium in a bag will it have a timeer
If the bag is on the mining ship, there will be a timer and sound/lights letting you know
If the bag is off the ship, not sure
Not even sure if quant is okay being removed from a mining ship and being put onto a cargo grid lol
I beleive once its stored its good - and you'll know if you have it onboard from the super scary and annoying beeps - if you've ever had one blow up on the way down to storage you know the pain is real! LOL
I took like 2 too many hauling contacts with the C1
So now I'm trying to stuff more into it as well as still get to my seat
just dont leave the back door open! they do fall off if not on the grid
I would, ask me how i know hahahahha
I've done all sorts of goofy stuff in the connie - lots of space in there off grid!
pico balls in the shower glitch out, lol
I've gone wild in a reclaimer
My weirdest was getting 3 prospector mining bags stuck hanging under my vulture clipped through the floor
I stored ore pods from my destroyed Mole (stupid security pilots don't know how to stop) off grid in a C1 back in 3.22 era. But when I came back, with a new Mole, to where I'd parked the C1, I found it dancing on a wingtip for a while, and when it eventually stopped 2 bags went missing.
I’m refining on the “very slow” option with high yield. It says it’ll take 23hours. Is that in real world time or game time? If game time, how long will it take fr? Also, if I leave the game, do I lose everything that’s refining or if I come back tomorrow morning it’ll be there waiting?
Apparently in 4.1.1 ore bags will actually stick to grids properly though.
Real world time
Shit
Go out and mine more
The weirdest thing i've ever had was changing parts out when I first started and somehow, not providing enough power to the thrusters. So when the ship was turned on and lifted into the air, it just kept spinning
If you mine enough, consistently, you'll get to a point where you'll constantly be having jobs complete.
Done fucked up there. Its midnight here. Can I log off and come back tomorrow night to check on the progress?
Awesome! Thanks
A new patch dropping will clear out refinery jobs and delete stored cargo though
For now
If needed, you can interrupt a job in progress and collect what was refined, and lose the rest.
did you figure it out?
But what happens once you take the bag off?
I WISH that I could scan once on the rocks I have cracked and it will tell me what's in them instead of this point and wait
I did not 😕
Question It says Contains: Upgrade - Carrack Expedition w/C8X to Merchantman Standard Edition can I use any carrack or does it have to be this specific addition for this upgrade?
You must have that exact edition. For more advice on CCUs #ccu-and-fleet-advice
this crate doesnt want to go there i could fit yesterday
Irl time. Come back a day later and they will be done
anyone know any good locations for stock prospector mining?
Looking to join a cool group of NA mining/industrial guys I am a 25 year old Army vet
Bruh first u tell me to go here and now you are telling me to go elsewhere make ur mind up
I never told you to come here.
This isn't the mining channel.
#industrial-professions is.
I never told you to come here.
Use these two channel if you want people to play with
soo where do I ask questions? xdd
Here ?
You are not @hushed condor , and @hushed condor is not you

Is it worth mining in Pyro?
I like Pyro over Stanton.
Riccite and Stileron are both similar in price as Quant and don't come with the explodey drawback.
You can find all 3 on most of the planets, but Terminus has the added benefit of low density (mass:SCU ratio) non-S tier materials and proximity to Ruin station for quick refinery dropoffs
In Stanton I have had good luck with the Yela asteroids and ROC mining on Aberdeen. I was told more mining fixes after the next patch drop.
If I'm starting to try out mining in the prospector ship with basic gear, do I look for the S tier materials or Tier 1s only, or do I mine rocks that have the tier 2 as well?
depends what u want to do
How so?
So basically if I wanna make money, only look for the S tiers
but if ur just learning u may aswell just take it all
yeah quant, bex and taranite in stanton and then the new ones in pyro
Am planning on mining in Pyro
The best money for your time is always gonna be S-Tier, but the occurrence rates are low.
Regolith.rocks comes with scan reports from other miners to get an idea of how much and where things spawn
Theres a chart in the pins as well that shows the overall effect of each ore type on resistances/instability to get an idea of what is minable by your loadout
Appears a bit out of date and doesn't cover the new Pyro ores though
Any hotspot recommendations in Pyro for mining?
Though I'm likely heading to Terminus all in all
I personally like the Pyro V moons, but Elguape (a popular mining streamer) prefers Terminus for Pyro
I normally go for Tier 2 and up
The main goal is bexalite and taranite
If I find Quant, then that is nice
Good too, but gold is harder to mine compared to the other two
So I normally don’t go looking for it per say
The one caveat with Bex if mining in Pyro is that you can't sell refined containers larger than 8SCU in pyro.
I usually just sit on my refinery loads and transfer them all over to a cargo hauler to bring to Stanton anyways though.
Ah, I mine in Stanton
right, so i can just look for Tier S and A and mine em in Pyro?
That would be my primary focus.
Until base building and crafting are a thing, the lesser materials aren't really worth refining. They do have effects on the mineability of rocks to an extent and getting dense low tier ores means that you have less SCU remaining for S and A tier ores
So I was trying the mining and for some reason nothing went into my cargo on the prospector while I was extracting?
Is there some fix for that?
what do you do when a rock isnt showing the fracture zone part of the HUD
The Prospector can't haul cargo per se.
Why does this it say power critical? I cant even see the charge level
You need the hud?
Look at the icon on the top, you don’t need to break it
That rock is small enough to extract
Remember
Yellow outline - fracture
Purple outline - hit that vacuum
Oh I actually had no idea thank you
Also 25% on quant
When you are in the wrong mode, it will be orange/yellow and have an arrow pointing to the other mode, when you are in the right mode, it will be green
7scu
175cscu
You might get 1scu of quant
Also taranite
That rock alone is around 30k
That's a nice rock
I need to do more mining, but I'm trying to hold out for 4.1.1 cuz some of that QOL is gunna make it so worth it
Been running cargo and salvage missions in the meantime for rank ups
I am new to mining but it appears to be pretty bountiful here
Mining's about to get so much better next patch
If ILW pans out well too, Mining and Cargo should both get some nice QOL out of it
New to mining, I’m looking to rent the Argo MOLE and I have a group of in total three people. We’re really looking forward to this so I just wanted to hear if it is economical where we should mind and if it’s possible to all mine at the same time.
You all can mine at the same time, but sometimes it's not needed. The thing about the mole, is that it allows 3 lasers to hit the same rock, so you can crack really big rocks doing so. Depending on how spaced rocks are, you might be able to get 3 different rocks in range for each of you to mine at once. But normally, you are looking for big juice rocks to crack
will you earn your money back mining stuff like quantanium in the halo belt if renting at 230k/day?
i heard refining is bugged and its best to sell raw ore
I havn't had any issues myself
Not sure what bugs you are refering too
Yeah you can
does the ATLS fit inside the Reliant Kore?
Man, haven't heard someone talk about the kore in sometime
Reliant is love
Turns out it looks like it should, no visible blocker, but weird old collision geometry prevents relaint and atls
what refining method do you reocmmend?
Pick what looks good for you
I go for Dinyx most of the time, as I don't care for waiting 24-40+ hrs depending on the load
If it's a full 64SCU of ores I am processing. I will normally go for Ferron to speed things up a bit
i see, and RMC and CMAT will be more valuable when repair is implemented?
Anybody know if 4.1.1 fixed all the vehicle Jumping around.
I also use dinyx but the wait time scan be horrid when you get up over the usual 32 for a prospector...they should really make that more relatable in terms of wait times
Just be careful getting the finished product loaded onto a ship.
Lotta things can go wrong tbh.
Remember before you put stuff in it go to your hangar see the ship and be there as you store it.
Then load it onto your ship and get into your hangar and call it in there.
If the ship flakes out and does some wonky shit make a break for the lobby asap.
And try again.
Should store when you leave the hangar.
Just depends what you want. To make the most money you wanna go for dynix salvation. Slow as heck, but cost the least and it's yield is high
Ya, CMAT will also become more valuable once base building is in place.
RMC can be used now for ship repairs but I think it's also going to be a generalized crafting material.
I know, but I mean the cargo part bottom right that should fill up when I extract
Hull C minus
It was just bugged, it's fixed now thankfully
How's your progress to Master Rank going @weak oyster?
at this
I've got just over 1/4 left to go. I might go and stack small missions for the rest
Damn not far behind
the hull c missions are easier than you would do the a normal one tho its never full deliver xd
oh and everous is off the table for hull c i think
the 711k one is the best option I think just because even with half rep it's still the same as one experienced mission otherwise if you get half rank on experienced you might as well do a stack of member stuff lol
Also avoid Hur-3 for now on the Medium routes, seems 50/50 can be bugged and not respond to ATC
did one to magnus thought it would have one back to terra it didnt but got 200k out 267
this seems full
I think you will get to Master before me tbh I'm winding down my effort this patch now lol
are you doing with hull c or normal ones?
i do need to make the money that i bought hull c back xd
just normal ones, I'm doing this one now:
I did a bunch of Hull C but didn't get much rep
this is how I load I just move the boxed down and place with with the maxlift:
no it's in the front with the last two boxes
on the unloading the atls doesnt catch the boxes for me need to go close to them
ah microtech
should i try everous with hull c again might have been some bad server? and was on loading cargo in
Cat has an issue where you can't always grab stuff from the outside anyway
close, Orison
yea,hopefully ironclad soon
there's the ATLS lol
are you a neat stacker?
i try to put them in order also everus doing tricks again
Most LEO/LZ have missions going both ways so you can go back and fourth with the medium loads if you want. I'm going to grab my Zoos and do some smalls now tho I think, might go over the Hurston
this cobalt limited edition paint is quite nice
Yeah the Hull C is a fun ship lol
cargo stays there and not lost?lol
now it says waiting for extension even tho its extended
one of the reasons I really don't like the Hull C , I mean when it works it's a easy pay day but you spend so much time faffing with issues like this
got passed that now back to unable to unload stationary
everus is broken for it it seems
i did pyro terra and magnus fine
yeah the interstellar ones are the most reliable, I think because EH is such a busy station
i guess dump the crates right?
I'd just abandon the Hull C and claim a new one
Just log out and back in then claim it
So hand and ground vehicle mineables are separate now?
Apparently
If anything it'll be towards the end of the year
Wonder if ground vehicle mining is more proftable now
Heard one of the cave resources was, but dont the remember the name of it
I think it's probably about the same, I remember making about 300k from a full ROC run of hadanite, the new more common mineable are 391k for 1scu (so 8 geo boxes) probably will take 2 full clusters to get that many so giving time to find, fill, etc it's probably on par. But now you have potential to stay out longer, carry a 2 or 4 scu crate to store your gems in and you can keep going. Fill that 4scu box in a few hours and you're going to bank around 1.5mil (or lose it all to a bug and rage quit)
@mild pumice first ever fully completed hull c ontract lol
Nice!
hope that quantum refuel is fixed soon
Hi, as an example I used a GEO on a single Glascolite cluster on Magda that brought in 63,746.00 AEUC. There was a steep slope involed and some of the gems went inert after a certain time period.
@mild pumice when you do hull c do you do a loop or just one on repeat?
I only do a couple and then move onto something else
I did 4 in a row and that was just a loop of the jump stations
been doing a few now some are complete at ful been watching andor season 2 lol
ive only did tera to pyro
didnt find one from pyro to tera
Well you can do any large interstellar, even 500scu
Well you could even do 90scu lol
What’s an expensive mineral I can mine with the ship I got lent from fly week? And where do I find it?
Need to make some bank… this grind is damned slow
Got 41 gems of beradon just fuckin around and saw on a site it would give me 5mil. But I think that would be 41scu and not individual gems, right?
Got so mad
The ship is MISC Prospectir
Fits 32scu of mineables
Need advice. Just not quantanium. I’m not “there” yet
So I’ve been using that ship to there’s YouTube vids on how to get the storage up to 64scu as well you should upgrade the laser on the front but I have been mining in pyro on a moon called adir mostly mine quantanium stilleron and riccite and Taranite
And I process it all at checkmate stations refinery
Nice! Thanks. Doesnt really make sense to upgrade it cause it’ll be gone in a few days and I’ll be back to my starter peace of crap. Trying to make as much as I can till then to try and buy a better ship.
The storage upgrade is free the laser upgrades will prob cost 100k but you make it back quick
If you plan on spending more than a hour or 2 mining its worth doing both you’ll make it back so much faster
Same with mining gadgets to be able to break bigger rocks
You find those at the shop on the refinery level of stations
That’s true… I’ll def give it a try. Not sure I know how to do any of those things but I’ll try to find the video
I’ll pm you the video
What is the largest ship an SRV can tow in quantum in space?
Up to size 4 ships
I've yet to check, and am not currently home; are there towing missions for the SRV? Or is it just, "use when you can"
Some salvage missions can be completed by just towing the ship away
Some of the illegal ones particularly
Don't think there's anything specifically for towing though
Ahh, I thought that was the case, thank you for the confirmation
Why am I only getting trainee hauling missions when I already got junior rank in pyro?
different reputation
covalex is easier to lvl but still very slow as a solo
best thing to do is get a big ship and do 10-20 missions at the same time
but it takes time to organize and you need multiple people so you can duplicate the missions
what are the stipulations for losing rep on hauling missions. I've abandoned quite a few and never lost any rep.
Reminds me of the wildlife programs showing dead whales getting eaten on the seabed
I'm checking and it's the proper one, Red Wind Linehaul
In terms of high rep, is cargo hauling in stanton or pyro worth more?
sorry i misunderstood, i thought you were looking for missions in stanton. I havent done any red wind since the latest patch.
High rank cargo in Pyro is bugged and the progression is very slow, for hauling right now Pyro outside of the exploration factor isn't viable
Gotcha, where in stanton should be the best for rep farming?
Hurston and Microtech due to the DCs as these are the most reliable surface/local delivery routes
These ones yea?
Those work well for the rookie level yeah because you can stack multiple contracts to the same locations, rookie and junior level up fast
Can someone explain to me why the game has such issues with me delivering cargo?
ie
I have 2 different missions to deliver to some stations (lets say ARC L1 and L2) - both same goods (lets say food)
I pick the correct amount, correct crates (lets say 2x4 SCU, 1x 1 SCU)... and it doesnt track it?
and when you put the other boxes there, it doesnt accept them either 🥲
like how to avoid this? 😄
Don't take multiple missions with the same cargo type unless you track exactly which boxes go for which mission
was doing salvage and the reclaimer exploded out of random no enemies outside
mini asteroid :/
on the surface too
again mini asteroid
will it work? (Connie Taurus) New player here but it feels weird that the grid isnt as high as the space would allow in the middle.
what's a good back and forth cargo run for the Starlancer?
Quick Question:
If i lost all of my Covalex (Hauling rep) due to a bug, Does the "Re-evaluation" mission return me to my previous rep (or at least a % of it) or does it just set me back to Rookie?
it should but sometimes the offgrid stuff has a habit of phasing out of the ship
Also idk if I'm sane anymore but I took out 20 contracts ranging from member - rookie from port tressler to greycat, sakura and nb and like 4 contracts back in my taurus
I think I netted 1.4/1.5m (with some margin of error from lost/mistaken scu)
in the span of 2 hours
But the spreadsheet and the brainpower was a pain
Hello mining friends.. do they usually give us liek a warnign before the update so we can make sure we get our refinery orders processed? I'm nervous to put more in with the possibility of an update looming and no timeframe to go by.
Once you start seeing PTU wave updates, either only use Ferron or the fastest one for high cost, or just chillax and do nothing/go salvage
i got greedy and tried to load 230 ish scu in, it was going well until i tried to put some in the human elevator, then the ship blew up lol
Am I not supposed to store my prospector w ore in it? I got on to refine my haul from last night and ship has no ore now
What I do is get that in the refinery asap. Stay at the terminal till it gets fully stored. Then go to the Refinery.
I see that now. Also I sent refined product to my cargo ship and it is not there. Lol
And it's not in my cargo hangar so where does it go?
Back to rookie, sadly
How did you distinguish between contracts with identical cargo type? I know there are 6 member ones with Tressler to GC, SS and NB, each with different cargo, but I don't risk mixing them with lower tiers, because they sometimes use the same cargo types, so I'm interested how other people tackle the challenge.
Basically the way I organise my trips is by taking 3 separate trips (one to each individual stopping point)
So when I bring stuff up from the cargo elevator, I only bring up the stuff I need for each individual stop.
This removes the risk of taking the wrong thing to the wrong stop
The member missions are immediately distinguishable by crate scu size. So if you only take one of each rookie/junior cargo along with the member, that's not terrible
If you take multiple junior/rookie missions with the same cargo, you should
- Consider if they have different scu values
- Accept some missions after others and do a second cargo elevator lift if they have the same value
Annoying af
Because realistically why would it matter
I delivered the goods. That's the main thing
Interesting approach, to selectively lift up only what's going to each destination. I usually lift up everything and sort it on the pad. And you only lift up cargo for one destination, load it up, deliver, return, load up cargo for second destination, etc? Or you lift one part, load into ship as one pile, lift second part, load into ship as second pile,..., and then travel around all 3 destinations?
I sort through the elevator because it's so much simpler than sifting through cargo on the pad. I can just mindlessly tractor stuff with the ATLS so it's much faster
At the moment, yes I do 3 separate loads/runs and head back to tressler each time. It's because I also take on 1/2 return missions to tressler at each destination
and also it stops me accidentally fucking up
because there are a lot of 1 scus
I know most of us are looking for true multicrew but the way that most people are playing is they all want to fly their own ship how is multi crew going to work if larger ships are going to need actual players in them it seems like they'll be a decline. And only Fighters and small craft will be flown the most. I know most Industrial professions are going to need a crew. Will there be other options like NPCs or computer systems?
We will have AI blades for remote turrets and post 1.0 NPC crew although we don't exactly know how that will look, hopefully we learn a bit more about those features at the next citcon
One thing I used to like about ED is you could hire NPC crew and send them out in a support snub fighter, really hope we get something like that with meaningful NPC progression, I enjoyed levelling up my NPC pilot from novice. They could also take the helm if you wanted to go out in the snub.
I think the most important ones for industrial players would be AI for defence and engineering. Putting out fires if you will!
anyone know where to sell roc mineables
Loads of places, check sc trade tools. Note looks like only Stanton for most of them
i did it told me the tdd but it doesnt detect my mineables
Mining outposts take them, TDD at cities and Admin at LEOs
Have you placed them directly in your local inventory?
I.e not in a box or vehicle
on a box im try a outpost
So you have to drag them out of the box into your local inventory
You can do it at the inventory kiosk
At outposts you'll have to faff around at the freight elevator
But anyway, check sc trade tools that the place you're at actually buy the materials otherwise you're just going to be wasting your time lol
Can i boost my covalex rep somehow? Like accepting senior missions from other players or something?
You'll need to be eligible for the mission as well to share it. But doing them together is faster and you both get the full rep but share the credits. The best way to get XP fast is stacking missions that go to the same places (just avoid taking contracts with the same cargo so you don't get mixed up)
Friends have the 700k cargo mission available, but i am a junior with covalex, possible or nah?
No because you need to also be eligible for the contract
gotcha..
What are some good mining locations in Pyro?
Also interested
They won't. Multi crew ships should require multi-player
So long as it engaging. No one wants to sit around and do nothing
Like don't need a mole pilot to just sit there while others mine
just got into mining with a prospector, ive got a helix head on, what modules should i run with it? ive got a rieger c2 currently
Rieger C3 + Focus III, don't bother buying anything other than the 3rd level of any module
anyone lucky to find an open mine or able to activate the orbital laser?
Is buying your own cargo for trading still feasible?
Entirely depends on the route
No I meant as a gameplay loop compared to doing cargo missions
Because I have a Hull C but using that is too much of a financial risk because you lose your cargo like 70% of the time
So I am thinking about spending my aUEC on a ship that might be able to do some high investment high return trading, if it is worth it
do you have to collect refined materials from same refinery they went to or any?
same one
its kinda equal to missions
but trade locations are the small outposts with small cargo lifts and tend to brake more often than most mission locations
It is worth it when it works
@hollow pewter @gray canyon
use this site if ya want to https://regolith.rocks/
i mine at vuur
Awesome! Already in my favorites now. Thanks bro!
Been using the Atlas GEO and ran into the issue of the storage on the back getting to 30% filled and the tractor beam dosent suck up any more loot, any solutions or explanations? thinking of buying a new geo box to fix it
I can access the storage and add till its full but when in operation at 30-40% it will stop working
The GEO boxes are bugged and periodically fail to register as empty because of the interaction menu where you remove minerals not updating both your inventory and the box's inventory correctly. It is highly advised to just swap the boxes instead of emptying them.
That said, that's kind of why the ROC/ROC-DS are preferred now that they're working again. What you lose in compact transportation, you make up for in stability and less trips.
I'm just waiting for external freight elevators on stations
Hull c will be 100% usable
I have upgraded from renting the taurus to owning a c2
now what
what missions do I do
Good luck moving 150 boxes by hand lol
You can do the large hauling missions now, up to 700scu
Or commodity trading
External tractor beam
What are the highest paying hauling missions?
Hey im new here but i wanted to get into mining and wanted to see if anyone wanted to join up with me and teach me the ropes
I'd be happy to do that on Saturday around 4pm - on PST if you're around then
Hey sounds good to me weekends work best cause I work night shift Sunday-Thursday so I’ll see you Saturday at 7 I’m EST
what they could do is keep the auto loading and maybe give you more xp if you unload manually?
uhh 4420/4421
How the hell do you guys load the C2
I've been using the ATLS and it's been soooo hard trying to stack 16 SCUs on the second layer
ATLS is only good for moving boxes, for precise placement use a maxlift
what to do when my covalex rep disappeared? I dont even see any missions
Getting in the ATLS and back out is such a pain ugh
Auto load
You probably submitted a mission with no cargo delivered, unfortunately this counts as a fail and the penalty for such is a large negative reputation drop, you'll need to wait for the trainee mission again. In future of a mission is bugged just relog or abandon the contract. Only use submit if a large portion of the cargo is confirmed delivered
There's an IC for this issue as well as being regularly submitted as feedback to CIG so hopefully they do something about it one day
ah ok, got it, thanks for the info 😄
hopefully they also allow me to deliver same type cargo not mattering the exact box I do...
annoying to take 3 missions with overlapping locations and fail them all because it gets bugged if you dont track the each mission exact boxes
Yeah it sucks, best to take missions with different cargo types if you can
Finishing up a cargo hauling mission, after picking up at multiple locations. Sent the elevator down with required cargo and didn't get a completion. I see the required cargo to complete in my storage now, but its not tagged as contract cargo anymore. Any way to "fix" this?
No, these are bugged at the moment. It works fine the other way round, i.e pick up from one location and drop at multiple as well as direct jobs.
hey can anyone help me just understand where you find caranite google and reddit are of no use
Many thanks, I had problems with that too, it helps a lot
Though another question from me, I've been hauling in Pyro and gotten Junior rank with a company, but ti still gives me trainee missions, any idea why? Is it based on location?
As I'm doing them around Ruin Station
Caranite is currently only found in the mine opened at the Hathor mining sites for the align and mine event. You'll likely need a group to hold any functional mine
thanks finally information on it thank you
luckily I wasnt that far, only like 20 % of member
I am back to junior now
tbf I was a bit "let down" by member missions, almost no "direct" missions 😄
the good part about member is the fact that you can stack stuff tho
quite a lot of small stackable missions
at decent rewards
That's how I lost my rep tho
Because I stacked missions and it broke
The key to stacking is same locations, different materials.
If you include same materials, you have to be very careful about sorting them by contract on load and unload so that you don't accidentally deliver a container meant for one contract at the wrong location.
Even if the amount of SCU delivered is correct, if you mix a 1 SCU container between contracts accidentally, then it can break your delivery
The way I get around this is by sorting contracts by location in the cargo elevator (by bringing up only the stuff bound for one destination at a time)
You can usually differentiate each mission by overall cargo volume
that said
if I were profit minmaxing
I'd just load up on the 6 x 50k rookie missions in the baijini-orison run
and do like 900k-1.2m an hour
When I was doing hauling, I was doing different pickup locations, but same drop off location. So I could just unload all of it at once and not worry which was for which
Tbh you want to minimise the number of landings where possible from an efficiency pov
Also if you have a big cargo space like C2 and you arent loading it to the brim
becomes much easier to differentiate and not mix
especially if you are doing the aforementioned cargo elevator sorting like I did
btw for those of u who fly the c2, where is this mysterious 2890 internal storage
takes long time to load tho
Not with ATLS
It's like 40-50 crates max
the fastest run I did one way was 15 mins
Of course the flight back takes another 5
Yeah 😄 But I guess the rep progress from rookie missions is miniscule if you are on junior or higher?
Im already at experienced
so I really am not that concerned anymore
the 6 member missions from tressler to 3 microtech stations is pretty gokd
for rep grind
experienced also has quite a lot of decent small-medium direct missions
and yeah c2 is overkill for the 6x 50s
yeah the one thing I dont like is that the missions are always the same and "respawning" it seems, instead of it being somehow "generated" and somewhat unique
yeah
I wish for a UI QoL overhaul
as well
make it easier to find a mission pls
yeah that as well, filtering missions lol
I have like 200 to sift through every time
in pyro its easier, as there is not as many
Ah that's cool
How do pyro missions pay?
I feel like I'd be a pirate magnet as a C2 in pyro lol
well basically similar, but it seems to me they are only localized around bloom. Or maybe there are other missions in other regions of the system, but they didnt show up for me
probably ye, but tbf I havent met any pirates
I've actually never ventured into pyro yet
went to grimhex the first time today
the station killed my fps actually
never had such bad performance
for me having browser open kills my fps. CPU goes from 60 % to 100 % and throttles
ah yeah i do keep browsers open
may be worth closing
but i do have a 13th gen i9 so
never rly felt it
i need to try looking into some less demanding browsers, everything based from chrome sucks apparently
im pretty sure my 4060 is actually the bottleneck
ye, I was choosing between it and rx 6750 xt, chose amd
yeah im on a gaming laptop lol
ah
idk why not, I had it in college dorms 😄
i mean ye, depends how far you travel
for me it was just couple of hours with car so it was fine
no, central europe
i mean yeah, but when you said it would be pain I imagined like flying to a different continent 😄
but yeah, gaming laptop is also nice in some aspects
i was deciding couple of years ago and decided to keep desktop PC for playing and get some basic laptop with good battery for school
My parents would not have let me build or get a PC so
gaming laptop was the compromise/only option
understandable
My old 2017 thinkpad would not have survived me trying to play star citizen lol
Imagine trying to run SC on integrated graphics
lmao
mhm
anyway moving on
favourite industrial ship?
I need to try mining or salvaging some time
Not sure where to get started with either atm tho
dont know, as i only do cargo
but from cargo ships I just wait for hull b to come into game 🥲
I mean, I only do cargo too atm lol
I was freeflying c1, then renting freelancer, then the taurus, then I bought the c2
I do love the c2 tho
And crusader ships in general
ye I would rent taurus, but I dont have time to play much
so I dont think its worth it 😄
Like its what, 130k, if I play for 1 hour and make 500k 😄 ... compared to making 350k with smaller ships for example
Golem or Prospector for mining. Fortune or Vulture for salvage
So heads up. Don’t store over 2000 SCU of Construction Material in the major cities at one time. You won’t be able to store any items at the storage terminal and selling at the TDD won’t work either. Had to haul a bunch to orbital stations until Lorevile was under 1000 SCU then I was able to sell again
If your ever on add me and hit me up we can load up my C2 and do some hauling I’m always down
mmm should i buy the raft now and wait for the buff, or grind another 4 mill and buy a starlancer
Why the raft tho
getting that scu buff next patch no?
By how much I missed the patch notes
i believe double
they are removing those lil arm things
So it will be sitting at 192 not bad if your looking for cargo I’d go star lancer max
Raft is 125USD i belive while SL MAX is 250
So if you need just cargo hauler RAFT is winner
Then the star citizen page is wrong lol it says 96 cargo
Thats for 4.1 while 4.1.1 RAFT is getting design changes that allow 6x32SCU containers
Oh ok so it hasn’t updated yet I gotcha my bad
Can anyone please help me understand what I am doing wrong when moving a completed refinery order to my Zeus CL? It is never in the cargo bay after. It's just gone. Two times now
Is it gone when you call up your Zeus? If that's the case try to store and retrieve it again
Listen this might help iv moved refined product to my caterpillar and it didn’t show but I still traveled to new Babbage and was able to sale it so u may not see it but it’s there at least that how it is for me so u haven’t taken the trip after loading your ship try to go sell anyways
It’s never hurts to try @wheat forge
And it’s every time for me my ship will be completely empty but the product is still there some how
Alright I am trying this now hope it works lol it sure takes a while to get out of pyro
I think it’s just a glitch that happens but it’s every time I load my ship it show completely empty which is a shame cause I use the caterpillar for cargo moving and I’d like to once see that sucker full before I transfer to the C2
whats the highest risk/reward for ground locations? my pirate friend wants to know...
Yeah it's on my ship that sucks I overwrote a more expensive load but good to know
If the cargo isn't showing, storing and retrieving it should make it become visible again
I think I tried that but I'll try it again next time
Fair, usually works for me
No problem glad I could help man if u ever need a second hand hit me up I’m down to do some runs with ya
I went all the way from Checkmate to Orison and the TDD says my ship is empty again HAHA
it wants me to load it down my cargo elevator, how do I do that when it's invisible?
I think I am just going back to bounty hunting, with all these issues it's 20x faster to do bounties
Guys, do mining gadgets work on asteroids? I can't place one
what are y'all's best workarounds for Hull C cargo loading saying "please wait for vehicle to be stationary"?
for me it helped if i moved Hull C in side the box then stop again
Practice on surface rocks if you're not used to it. Easier to just walk up and get used to the interface versus managing it in EVA
Bruh I just lost 2 gadgets, one got stuck inside the asteroid, second got blown up...
But I managed to place one somehow
Blown up happens, sometimes from overcharging, other times from an unlucky break that ended up crushing it between rock and ground
so i got 20 mil to spend, which ship shall i buy? i enjoy mining, salvaging and hauling
Is there even a point in carrying different ores to different refineries? Won't you lose more on buying quantum fuel, instead of just sitting on one refinery and mining stuff around it?
Also saves the time in quantum travelling
Generally you either have a favorite refinery area, or you could pick a specific location if you had a lot of one very valuable ore that you wanted to minmax
once the ability to refine ore from storeage is a thing you could mine up 100s and 100s of scu of different ore transport using c2 or whatnot then its worth it
cause 5% of 10 is nothing 5% of 500 is 25
Yeah, that's what I thought
I don't know if it's right place to ask but I'm looking for pilot/mining laser operator for my rented mole. I paid about 200k and I'd like to get some of it back and it would be absolute pain to move between cockpit and turret any time I find deposit. So anyone interested?
#looking-for-session There's a thing
What are decent upgrades for Golem ? Apart from Gadgets?
Wait, copper is like ~400 bucks per SCU? That's basically garbage!
how would it even work if I try to do cargo missions with someone?
hey guys, new to mining. where is a good place to go in pyro ?
If you share the contract you both will half the credits, but also both of you will get full rep as long as you are the same rank with Covalex.
hey does anyone know if commodities get wiped between patches
Can anyone give me a step by step on how to use the hand mining tool in jail?
Never used one before, and in jail i have no hud
Yeah any commodities in your inventory are usually wiped on patches like consumables
i mean like trading commodities like gold and quant
With no hud, I recommend firing the laser about 60% when the node starts to glow reduce to around 30% should be about right to crack most. Better just take the O2 mission though
Yeah like consumables, they're usually wiped on .x patches
There's some reports of hand mining gems remaining but I've not tested that personally.
dang
Im in jail and keep getting killed by some a-holes. Every time I wake back up in the room, my jail timer resets to the original sentence. Will I never get out?
Any NA active time zone industry guys around, i have some questions
Whats up?
if it makes this easier just DM me
kkkkk imma dm you
it is done, I am bankrupt in game
Do you have any industry ships?
hull B (so loaner A) and right now the freefly C1 and corsair 😄
I'm looking forward to the updated Raft in 4.1.1
What did you need help with?
yeah thats why i bought it
since I need something with more cargo space. Hull A is nice, but only 64 SCU
I would have went for Taurus, but since raft is getting that buff, I decided to get that 😄
Smart move, will be awesome for contracts
is there a way to make my hopper screens on the reclaimer work again short of just claiming? I can't interact and my hopper is full atm
I haven't had that happen before, I'm assuming you've stored the ship and brough it back up?
Anyone able to harvest Heart of the Woods? I'm finding plenty of stumps/assets with the fungus but none of the loot-able mushrooms. Wondering if they're just not respawning...
If I have over 2,000 gems to sell but it's going to be on a planet which doesn't have a inventory terminal how do I sell it to the station when I have it in a box?
How much SCU can you get into Taurus or Starlancer MAX? I dont mean official SCU, but "real SCU"
Since corsair has official 72 grid
but I manage to get 3 rows of 8 SCU boxes and I think maybe 5 rows of that? Or maybe just 4 idk
Anyway, that comes up to 96 or 120 SCU
plus it leaves space on top, so if you had smaller contracts with 4 SCU boxes as well, theoretically you can get up to 134 or 180 SCU for Corsair
so how much can you fit into Taurus or Starlancer Max?
I run a Golem, and a C1 for my industrial ships. But have owned a Zues cl, taurus, and a cutlass black before.
I will admit the Taurus is very flexible but I am not a fan of it's elevators.
And looks...
you can get 300SCU+ into SL MAX
but it just matter how determined are you
nice. But I still plan to keep Hull B as my cargo hauler (if they dont nerf it somehow 😄 ... but idk what they would have to do). Larger cargo grid should make it very good when they allow autoloading contracts
right now I guess it would be quite pain trying to load, but we shall see
Also quick question
Is it possible to load smaller crates into raft now? For example 10x8 SCU and 1x4 SCU
Instead of the 3x32 as it's designed for right now before the update
Yeap it's always been possible
When loading a box of crates put the 8scu on the end of each row. If you have smaller 1/2/4 boxes put them in the middle, that then gives you the little extra height to lift them over the middle boxes so you can put them on top of the lower row of boxes. Probably not explained that very well but it's simple to work out
can the caterpillar take 32SU crates in?
Just bought the raft myself, gonna be the main cargo boy when 4.1.1 drops
Zues is my daily + planetary mining with the GEO Atlas combo, then the raft for them cargo hauling, and currently have an Ares Ion for bounties and Vaughn missions
Yesnt
I can off grid
2 each compartment
i can, i think they need to update a bit first tho
there was an other 395K master contract that i saw but no more than that so far
I knew they were similar to the senior ones but was hoping the money would be better tbh
for the grind they make you give
That's the problem with this game sometimes the effort you put in just doesn't get rewarded, needs progression to feel more rewarding
actually pays less than a Senior Medium lol, I think CIG just bad at maths
Would be a nice mission for the Ironclad but should pay 1 mil or something to make it worth while, maybe it works with the Hull C but no reason you would do 3 drops when when you can take a direct A-B experienced Hull C mission for 700k
Yea I wonder why no bigger money mission for master rank
I have a feeling they just ran out of ideas lol
copy/paste and moved on
and none of the master ranks on everus
they seem so few and you got some many of the previous ranks
Lol, you would think higher rank means your more trusted, but it just means you can take bigger jobs
Thats how slavery begins.
The funny thing is moving goods are currently more expensive than the actual good a good bit of the time
Funniest part was when I bought Cutter starter pack while drunk. And thought I bought Golem..
Lol
Yeah I think the game is pricing based on the amount of boxes moved primarily. Which seems fair as more boxes means it's gonna take WAY longer to load / unload
At least partially.
Because you can make ~350k a run by stacking rookie missions.
Just loading and unloading takes WAY longer.
So once I refine my ores, do I need to get a transport ship and load it up box by box?
no for now so not 4.1.1 the refiner will and only will auto load to a selcted ship
You will need a transport ship. But it's autoloaded
Thank god 😄
with this watch out to not void it
But you need to he careful.
before loading it
go to the hangar and watch the ship go up and down by retrieve and store
Well Im just getting into mining with Golem. I need to learn about upgrades for the ship and other stuff. So I've been just selling ores instead. I know about the refining and so on.
in theory they fixed it but they never really fix shit
WHY on god would you sell ore
it is 2x the cost of refined stuff for waiting and hauling
if it was some random cheap ones then fine
If I can haul it in the same Golem. Sure I'll do it
But these last two weeks I had no time to actually grind. Been collecting games on Ps4 and visiting flea markets 😄
refinery orders sit and wait till a major patch wipes them
i will see if hull c wants to work today
I'm was ting my time doinf Pyro Cargo, I think these 3 missions are bugged now tho
I had to defend against NPCs attacking my ship and the freight elevator reset and stored my cargo which seems to have removed the 'contracted' tag
Why don't the damn outpost turrets defend you when you're working for them lol
I'm CFP in a CFP outpost and HH NPCs are attacking my ship, you'd expect support
hmm not to pyro gateway but magnus last time i went there it didnt want to unload lol
game decided to delete half my cargo lol but at least I could submit my missions 😄
coming back to Stanton lol
I found that sticking to the industrial centers with large hangars, stations and major cities is more reliable currently. The outpost freight elevators are finicky
My personal route is: Start at Everus Harbor then find the Small Planetary missions to Cassilo, Covalex, Farnesway, Sakura and last stop Teasa Spaceport. Then repeat by going back to Everus.
Unfortunately you don't have that luxury in Pyro lol
But yeah, that's totally my guidance for Stanton as well. I do the local routes to DCs, the interstellar routes and the multiple locations solar jobs to Legrange points (avoiding Hur-3 as landing service are often bugged)
SHould i buy the ROC or ROC-DS
Roc ds is useless
noted
nothing different other than larger capacity and seat amount?
two seat is one drive other mine
capacity is not much mroe
nothing in the laser?
a better laser would have been a good tradeoff for the DS
better in what way?
since you need to be 2 to use it effectively, you should have the ability to have a better laser than the single seater
yes i understand
but better in what way?
iono
iono how mining works
never tried it
faster mining i guess
or more ores per mineable
nither are in game as a modifiers
basically what i mean is that there is not really a way for the ROC laser to be better
ah. i see
so what makes ship mining better than ground and hand mining? is it just the amount you can mine?
or the minerals?
since the game has become more stable i have tried to do more different game loops
hand/roc mining is the same roc can mine more at once
ship mining allows to mine much higher volume much faster if you know what you are doing
i used to only do cargo and commodoty. now im also into bounty, merc and tryna do some more industrial. so mining is next on the list
with faster mining its basically more cash
but if you are lucky mining feynaline is more so equal in pay/hour to ship mining
i saw an UEX
360k per SCU
and one cluster roughly fills the ROC
gonna buy a roc later and do some mining to try it out
It's about 2-3 clusters to fill 1scu
I was using the Geo and transferring to a 2scu box
Bruh, it's so not worth selling refined stuff in different locations, it takes too much time
I could've made 3 times as much hauling
I guess I could've stored 10 refinery jobs in one warehouse and then sort it out from there and sell it in different places
What's the best approach?
Selling at one place, like major TDD in the city or storing a lot of refinery jobs and then plan sell routes?
Im lazy and sell it all wherever is the best place to sell the majority of ma cargo
So if i have 50scu Borase and random stuff i go wherever Borase is best to be sold
It is not worth to sort where things go imo
Yeah, that's what I thought. I'll try storing and planning next
Any ship mined crates i just take to Orison sell and be done with it.
well if ya can get 4k more per crate on 60 crates its worth the effort
They should get rid of refinery workload, it's bullshit mechanic
The one on Pyro is at 216k% lmao
it does nothing its just a random number lol
what, really? I thought it increased process payment. It just doesn't work or am I missing something?
it is just a random number
isk why is it there but it is
Probably a work-in-progress feature for the future
is roc mining any good? i might buy one since i enjoyed mining before 4.0 came out
It will make some money, but is super chill still
idk why im asking if its good im not playing to grind ik im gonna do it anyway lol
mining with the prospector was very chill
Afaik they added more surface mineables, and you can exchange cargo boxes for the roc, so it's no longer pain to move the gems to storage. If unsure, you can still rent it super cheap and give it a test run.
anyone have a workaround on this bug, i've lost a lot of auec due to this
I'm unable to sell my ores
Try to sell them manually not from the ship
copy, currently loading them to cargo lift
Sometimes, after auto-unloading bugs out, you might need to relog to sell manually.
just finished unloading, i'll try to relog too
waves Hello miners! Looking for someone with a mole to give me "their bags" 😄 (they come back after you repaired) and assist me real quick in placing them on my prospector. Want to upgrade my prospi from the 80SCU "cheat" to 96SCU "cheat".
If you have an ATLS, then you can buy the bags from the shop along with a 1SCU box. Bring up the bags and the box in the freight elevator. Use the ATLS's better tractor to move the bags on top of the box (it's tricky, but very doable once you get the hang of it), then ATLS them again out of the elevator
I think I worded it poorly when I said I need assistance. Not in explaining how things work, I already have an 80SCU prospector and I know just fine how everything works. Upgrading to 96SCU needs 2 men to do it together. I need assistance from someone with a mole and their bags to attach the 2nd set of bags. It can't be done alone.
Ahhhhhhh
I might be able to help you tomorrow if you're on, I gotta head to bed now though.
Where are you at right now? I can move my Mole to your location tomorrow to make things go faster once we're both on
Hey yall how do I know when the shops refresh?
I want to sell my fresh food at a shop but they are full atm.
Also... do the beds in the C1 work?
Well fk
Guess i am gonna leave my 16SCU of extra fresh food at the place I am gonna sell it lol. Least for now
thanks! 😉 my prosp is stationed at MIC L2
Every 15 min or so I think
Beds are bugged across many ships lately
You can't put 2 mining gadgets on the same rock? Mine 2nd one just falls off after I place it
One is safe
With two or more the have a I think 50% or more chance to get destroyed
It is possible but it's also made to not be worth to spam for easy mining
But mine just falls off
Like I can't attach it, it just falls on the ground. I tried switching order and still, 1st one is good, 2nd falls off
Then they might have changed it
I have never used it like that myself only seen people do it
do you need the atls to move certain box sizes now or have they not changed that yet
I just loaded a freight elevator and forgot to send it down and went up to the lobby is there away to get my cargo back?
anyone got time to help me out with a little mining issue?
I’m looking to try do the orbital laser with some friends. We don’t have a geo but assuming you can do it fine with the ROC? Or even hand held?
im in the middle of Aaron Halo but i can not find a single rock to mine
Go back to your hangar, is it still there? If not was it stored when the elevator reset?
also i gotta go for a second so if you could ping me with a response so i can find it later
No
Server reliability has improved it but it still bugs out and won't load/unload sometimes.
Docking is generally more reliable, it's a while since I've had Docking issue in any large ship. (Docking collar) except the landing gear bug.
no it's not there I just forgot to send it down the elevator didn't know it was going to just all disappear once I left the hanger 😢 I thought this game had persistence's
Is it common for mining charge bar not to show up?
Was recently due to server lag
Now it should be a rare occurrence
Unless the server you are on is laggy
Thanks. It appears from time to time. Thats why I asked
Yeah stuff in hangars is usually persistent unless your hangar gets stowed but in 4.1 they added a reset to freight elevators to stop them getting stuck on transferring, unfortunately this means if you leave the area the cargo disappears
I was unloading a Hauling mission in Pyro yesterday when 3 ships attacked my parked ship, in the time it took me to defend my ship the cargo I'd already unloaded to the elevator disappeared.
Very annoying
I couldnt get the bag off the ROC last night for nothing and had to manually move the gems to my backpack - major pain!
always love when you see someone else in a Hull C
When it works it’s an easy way to make money
Farming money to buy an Hull C too
Speaking of it, will ships like Hull C and C2 still be ok alone when engineering will come out ?
May have to unlock ports to remove the cargo pod.
on the ROC?
How much CM scu does a hammerhead give
Beradom is supposed to be mined with ground mining car? Because I couldn't mine it with the hand tool and Golem laser is too powerful. I did break the rock but I had to pick up every little piece by hand, it's too damn long
Probably a roc or that new atlas mining thingy
geo atlas my goat
Total is usually 240-250 depending on how good of a claw operator you have
Surface deposits can be broken by hand, but you need at least three people to do it without a ROC, ROC-DS, or GEO.
Of those three, the GEO is currently only available for cash, and has the least use overall, but the highest mobility and smallest space consumption.
The ROC by contrast sacrifices mobility for speed, and storage, but is also much bigger.
The ROC-DS is the largest and most complex one, requiring select gear, two people, and even more space, but only boasts a nominal storage increase in exchange.
While ATLS is the correct designation, it is an obvious inference of words between atlas and ATLS. Not sure what a classis is, but if you meant chassis, I've not heard any part of the Centurion, Spartan, or Ballista referred to by anyone as anything to do with the word "atlas," although, that could simply be a lack of knowledge on my part.
can confrim the C1s beds are glitched
Do you still need that help?
Yup!
are you free to meet? I'm on EU right now, chilling at tressler where all my ships are, too
Yea I'm hopping online right now
but if needed I can come to where your mole is, as well
lets dive in DM to figure things out?
sent DM
Not sure if someone responded to you. But back a bit ago, they changed the power of the tractor pistol (The Multitool with the tractor attachment) to only allow you to move the smaller boxes and now you need the tractor rifle (Can't remember its name, but it's the expensive tractor beam tool in the cargo centers) to move bigger boxes. You can also use an ATLS or a Ship tractor beam instead of the tractor rifle
Who's got advice on what mining gadgets I should use to crack open bigger rocks with an Arbor Mk1
I recommend the Rieger line
I don't mean attachments
oh
I mean the gadgets you place directly on the rocks
eh, doesn't seem like gadgets work anyway
Brandt, Stampede, or Surge are + power
Sorry I can't be more help.
so, ive got 1800 units of Beryl being refined, what do i do after its refined, do i just sell it at the same place or do i need to transport it to a different location?
You need to transport it to another location. All major cities will buy it. Other places might also buy it so take a look on SC Trade Tools or UexCorp for places that will buy what your selling.
i got a question i want to get the hull c but how do you do the missions that are in planets or moons?
are inert materials even worth mining, like can you sell them at all?
hey so, i have the Cutlass and Prospector, why cant i load the refined materials there
It's possible the Cutlass is to small.
i forgot to deliver Cutlass to my port, thats why it didnt show up
Ok cool!
now another problem appeared
i called the Cutlass and went back to the Refinery and loaded the Cutlass up, when i came to the hangar to check it, there was nothing inside of it, warehouse was empty aswell
Man, the Salvage speed between the Vulture and Fortune is night and day...
Store the ship and bring it back up
They should show inside the ship after doign that
nope
Hmm, that is what fixed it for me
You are in the same area you got the cargo from, right?
Was the double cargo space exploit for Mole patched out?
on which planet/ mooon does feyn usually spawn for ground mining
hey yall quick question,
so my refining work order will take 30 hours.
Does that mean i HAVE to log in in thirty hours to collect, or, if I log in anytime after that (say a week), the order will still be there to collect?
The order will stay until next patch, you can collect it anytime
awesome thank you so much ❤️
Whats the best way to utilize Golem? Mine at Yela asteroid belt?
try aberdeen or arial - bring a hot suit (pembroke) or you wont last more than 3 rocks out there!
Speaking of ROC mining, I am having trouble removing/replacing the bag on the back. The tractor beam always grabs the whole ROC and then slams it. I have tried everything I can think of without any luck. If nothing else, I hope 4.1.1 will solve it.
I mean the vulture does have 2 salvo heads
Cant wait for the ironclad to come out so I can land my vulture in it an salvage that way
Mining on planets is better than asteroid belts. There are more rocks per cluster
I just found out that adding few mining modules can help it. Also surface mining on Yela was good profit till server error lol
You wish
i got a question i want to get the hull c but how do you do the missions that are in planets or moons?
Nice. Sabir is usually the better gadget to use. Makes bigger rocks easier to crack
Hello guys , any idea on how much we can make using a reclaimer ?
Thanks I will look into that
You don't. The Hull C can only load/unload in orbital space stations and gateway stations
I heard the puck things are fixed in place so it seems they didn't like us doing that.
It was probably part of fixing the snap points for freight elevators (needing also some adjustment on the ships) has fixed the issue.
i meant the distance
also picked a quest for the way back to deliver it started counting then went 0 again and 327/519
Some days I can do 12 Hull C cargo missions with no issues. Other days I’ll get 1 or 2 done then it just breaks
do i risk this one?
Should be fine over 50% yeah. As long as they have been counted delivered
If it's quite a low reward you could just abandon it and claim the ship or relog, up to you. I'd probably submit it
yea it started counting and somewhow started again and ended at that amount
just a 141k reward
Probably server lag or something
picked it for something to return from magnus
Were there any worthwhile Master Rank contracts?
I haven't done anything since the last time we chatted so I'm still only 3/4 thru senior, I've been taking a bit of a break, I usually wind down on the run up to a new patch and start testing PTU
only this ones ive seen
How do I get rid of this message
Basically the same as the senior one or is it more cargo?
It should go when you leave the area
leave the cargo cube?
Or go to a different station
Different location. If you've paid for cargo and it's uncollected you lose it though
That's not too bad, I was hoping they'd pay closer to 500 tho
Still 400k for about 45mins I guess is OK
only this one for some reasons has that much high crates
should be able to stuck those master ranks with the ironclad when its out
Yeah that almost looks bugged/out of place
There's a random large senior that's 200k
people need to stop leaving crates all over the place
i hope it gives me tera to pyro next magnus takes long to go
Yeah that's a long trip lol
It didn't go away unfortunately
I swapped servers and regions too
That's an old bug I thought they'd fixed
Maybe requesting and canceling docking will help. You still have the message on any ship?
it is and did 3547/3579
ill get 540k now lol
Harsh the amount they take off you lol
For a mole crew, where is the best mining location in Pyro? I personally like ignis.
i like vuur
Have you found some stileron/riccite?
no but i dont think it has any good chances spawning on planets
but i had good luck finding quantanium but often it was a bit too big for solo
a good example
Anyone know the state of the Starfarer? I bought one last night for fun but without know if it works or not. Someone told me it may be bugged.
Thats pretty good. Ive found a 52k 49% quant rock on ignis. Quant is pretty common somehow
How do the XTR-XL modules work, does it remove 6% inert material when collecting and if that’s the case can I have three on a helix 2? Giving me the ability to remove 18% inert material?
Yes, but the negatives also stack
@stray isle thank you
Not 18% because it's multiplicative, not additive.
Would be 17% if there wasn't already a 40% buff from the head itself.
Head + three modules add up to 51%. Check regolith.rocks.
I would use FLTR-XL instead tho if the goal is to have a head that's made just to extract while lowering inert materials
@spare cloud I had no idea thank you
Adds up to 83% inert material reduction with 3 FLTR-XL
83%, nvm, not 96
This is what I have one of my Mole lasers equipped with. It's an Impact (good range and inert reduc bonus) with 3 FLTR-XLs on it
That’s awesome thank you
guys what is the best loadout for the Zeus cl
Hemera for range
I was tempted to say a C1 or a Raft. 🙂
Anyone having issues with loading/unloading a Hull C at Everus Harbor
I get it to commence cargo transfer, but at no point does the blue box turn green first before it dissapears, and its like the ship keeps hailing the station
Literally having that same issue at the same place rn.
anyone has max headhunter rep for salvage? did that ever work for you? the 150k salvage mission
Always.
Try the routes that don't involve Everus, though they're longer unfortunately
Stick to the gateway stations and it'll work usually. EH traffic seems to break it more than not.
Magnus gateway was bugging out earlier for me so maybe avoid that one too. Only took 7SCU out of over 4K
I was able to load from Magnus... Looks like I need to play with the route from Tera to Magnus... been working on hauling missions
I've got 10 Mill to spend on a ship, whats a good ship for cargo but also good on offense?
Taurus
Try other location. Sometimes it doesnt accept certain commodities
do you have to unlock ports to take off the ROC storage bag?
I retracted the 'detach' section but I just grab the whole roc
yeah so you need to unlock ports I know for next time 🙂
Can a friend use my ship to mine and earn money for himself?
I'm pretty sure if you're in a party they can use your ship but you'd have to refine it and give them the cargo to sell. There's still issues around cargo ownership but if they take it off a freight elevator it should be fine. It's going to be easier next patch with changes to how ores are stored (I.e you could give them the bags and they could refine it)
How many work orders can you have in total?
Infinite
When the next PTU patch comes to LIVE, they'll be able to use your ship and refine from it without needing your help. Might still need to be in party, but they'll be able to refine themselves anyway, dropping the ship's bags in the freight elevator and refining from there.
oh awesome
thank you!
Do you know if repairing replaces consumed bags? I did ask in PTU chat but not had anyone able to help yet. I'll get on later with my Golem and give it a try if I can.
Didn't get a chance to try the PTU myself, but repairing already replaces removed bags in LIVE, has for a while and has helped a lot with the 192-240 SCU MOLE trick
Idk for the Golem tho, I want to expect the same behaviour but ship seems built different.
Cool so it should hopefully work, I was thinking send bags down, set it refining, repair and head back out
Although to be fair I could just store and refine lol
I don't even know if the refining from local inv eats the bag or empties them like it does now with ship. And chances are high that bag emptied in local would be bugged
it needs to be more deeply tested.
I haven't touched the game in a couple weeks so 🤷 I'll wait for it to be LIVE and see how it goes
Goodmorning ! If anyone is newer and looking for a good group to mine / salvage with let me know !
I was thinking to take the Golem out with spare bags but I don't like the idea of them being consumed unless they make them super cheap, let's see how the system progresses I guess
If they make the bags cheap it’s worth I think there pretty pricy right now
Or if it doesn't eat the bags, bring them back up and attach them again. That should be the proper way if bags aren't dirt cheap to the point repairing is close to exploiting
Try in #looking-for-session instead 👍 here is a discussion channel
Okay yeah no worries I’m only 2 weeks in and this is where I found my last little group to mine with sorry
Went out today in my Zoos, with Roc/Geo mining in Pyro was really good. Reckon I could fill 2 Roc bags in a couple of hours with the frequency on Feynmaline on Pyro Moons which should net around a mil.
Quite relaxing and nice landscapes...
How do i equip a mining module in the field? I have ports unlocked, have a tractor beam, module is in my inventory. But when i try to drop it to the ground nothing happens.
Try dragging it to your hand then drop it on the ground
Sometimes helps when it doesn't want to drop stuff, and if you can have it in your hand
Goddamn, I keep wasting money on Optimax, sometimes it gets blow up even though I did no overcharge, sometimes I did overcharge and it blew up on my back while I was in the ship (WTF), sometimes I forget to pick it up...
Yeah, don't let it on your backpack. Every rock cracking, overcharged or not will do some damage to the gadgets around. Leave them in backpack inventory to make sure bonus ones you have don't get damaged at the same time as the used one
Got it, thanks
have there been any recent changes to mining that improve profitability?
Mining changes have not been economy specific outside of new mineables, but the valuable ones are more for the Wikelo rewards
I apologize, I am sure this has been asked many times, but,
Is there a good measure in order to effectively use the Hull C without problems for cargo hauling jobs?
I hear a lot about the horrors of it not loading.
No, it's down to chance and the odds are stacked on the side of the bugs lol
Try these:
Don't store it where you will drop off or pick up
When in the box make sure you are at a dead stop with engines off
Make sure you are level in the box
Back out if you get an error then back in following the above
As soon as you're loaded back out
Don't fly away immediately
Wait maybe 30secs tops to see if cargo give you a fake pick up If so go into box then back out then leave.
I can't guarantee following the above will work but they just might.
So back out, but only out of the box, don't leave the area. And fake pick up, what does that mean?
I've not had this but apparently Cargo can call you and give you another box.
Ahhh, haha. I see.
Thank you very much for all this ♥!
I appreciate you very much.
got my fingers crossed that it helps. It is SC after all
It's okay, worst case is I lose all the cargo hauling rep I don't have
lol noo don't lose it just abandon/log out that way you don't lose rep. Well the usual SC caveat on that.
fair haha
6 part guide to finding any cave in SC (Relevant/working as of 4.1.0 LIVE)
Using Verseguide as your reference point: Make sure to enable "Hidden Locations" on any planet/moon you look at to be able to filter caves!
https://verseguide.com/
The new raft its in live or still ptu? Release date?
PTU only
Not at RC yet
Likely to go live on like 14th May
So we still have limited cargo on raft in pu?
Yes
Filmed a decent video of me explaining how to find a cave, and then finding said cave. Will probably post that soon™️
what is the new cargo SCU gonna be on the raft again when it hits PU?
exactly double; 192SCU
Hmmmm tempting.
gonna have to have a talk with my freelancer max about the starlancer max or a raft. She will be upset.
the raft has a QD and is long distance hauling capable, rite?
yes
Is the Hull-C working this patch?
Same as always - Yes and No. Some people have a good experience and others a bad one.
IMO hull C isn't "fixed" until we're loading it via a cargo centre lift in EVA.

Step by step guide showing and explaining how to easily find caves in SC for people who don't know how
3 ROC bags are more than a mil - but 2 are under 800k
I spent a lot of time in caves, sadly they are lacking in content/rewards. The acidic caves, like janalite seem rewarding, but in reality they offer nothing more than an interesting place to visit once. I hope one day they make them worth spending some time in, maybe one day we will find that there's a shop in one of them or maybe someone hid a large amount of loot down there once in awhile.
Imo if they just add the new materials (from Hathor) to the caves but just as a rare spawn, that'd get people to actually go to them more frequently
I enjoy exploring but after awhile the caves are pretty boring gameplay
OR maybe put more than 18 janalite gems (one rock) in the whole cave! Sure an SCU is worth alot but...
390k/scu and a Roc Bag is 1.2scu so should be just short of a mil
NO it's 391 per SCU the ROC bag holds 1000 gems which is 391k
either you have not sold a full bag OR i am getting ripped off every time!
That's of course assuming we are talking about Feynmaline being sold at the best market value right now.
The ROC bag holds 1.2mSCU so you might get a couple extra in there beyond the 1k of gems
So just to keep it in perspective having done both Prospector & ROC mining - I find the ROC more profitable even if you are cracking & refining some nice chunks of Quantanium in terms of effort and time. I upgraded my prospector to 80SCU bags - and cracked some large quant rocks, refining times were way too ridiculous. I can hit 3-7 nice feyn patches and make that much easier without having to wait to refine, or deliver to sell - needing a cargo ship to haul it, deciding where to sell what for how much profit etc - or just haul it to Orison and take what you can get. The ROC is easy to swap bags (got it working now) but still in this patch a bit of a pia to sell BUT - overall a lot less screentime and effort. To me, they should make prospectors more profitable by lowering refine times and increasing bag capacity - you got a lot more effort and expense with it. The ROC continues to be the champ!
hmm stuck on unloading
I had 747 in there and it was about 2/3 full.
it wont unload what to do
Relog, claim ship, start again
I mean you can try docking, undocking and unloading again but most likely cargo ATC is on a break
it worked without reloging
Nice
accidently retracted the spines hope i dont break something
it should not let you rectract with cargo
What’s the difference between ROC and ROC-DS?
DS splits the mining laser and driving between two seats, so it's a pain to use solo, but it has a lot bigger storage, and one of the two seats is sealed so you're not exposed to extreme weather
It's also a lot more comfy to drive, more stable on uneven terrain and more powerful uphill.
ROC mining works in Stanton?
I know that ship surface mining is broken but does ROC still work?
What are you saying ship mining on surface is broken? I've been doing it for past 2 days
I saw that too. But in my case it was easier to find mineables on surface on Yela than asteroid belt
hi all, finally saved up my first ~3,5mil and want to get an upgrade
i cannot however decide betwen a C1/RAFT/Talon/Gladius
The goal is purely to make more money, which would be my best choice going forward?
I do have a C1 from the free fly that didnt get deleted, but idk how long i'll be allowed to keep that
C1 is good
