I swear there was a cmd
Nope
and pyro is safe there?
cause i really dont wanna die lol
yesterday i encountered a couple people, but they were traders like me so we didn't fight
I think most pirates aim for larger vessels, don't think a C1 like ours interest them
maybe go around the outpost a bit to see if you see anything suspicious, place your ship nearby the cargo area so you can just take the stuff with the C1 tractor and try to stay in between building
there's not much you can do besides that
just gotta be careful and hoping there's no one after you
where the hell is the sell thing on riv
ive been searching for minutes
its in a small shack with some boxes in the middle
Its nearby a big ass warehouse
Good going!! Did you complete the sale?
yesss! currently going for round 2
just met a really cool guy with like a spacecat suit
glad i didnt shoot him out of fear hahaha
Sometimes those elevator pads are bugged. Hope you do okay trading.
hey can anyone recommend any trade routes for me i used to play and it seems all the old ones are not any good i got a taurus
pyro or stanton?
stant
Legal or Illegal?
legal
i saw before getting off last night u can make 4k profit on food per scu but idk if enough to fill havent ran it yet
i feel like that isnt showing all the good ones the guy i was with we were looking at some that had higher prices and margins were better unless this shows one i should be able to fill cargo on is but if i take less cargo with with higher profit per by alot i imagine the food might still be more profit no?
here i sort for profit
dont know if there is any more
it will not
rip
adding these to my constelation tarus. is this a good one for just general fast travel for saving as much time as i can?
thx for sharing
hey hey, any idea, best trade run or what to run from where?
scroll up a bit same question asked and explained
put a Hemera instead
and IcePlunge instead of IceDive, rest seems good
ok. how come?
hemera cause distance? idc about distance. i dont ever have an issue with that
well. ig.
max speed vs accel is a good point
how much faster accel for a 32k max speed trade off?
awsome, also do u know if roc mining is working again, or still borked?
i heard its still borked. idk tho
You can just watch the time for whatever distance you want on Erkul.
Hemera is only faster for trips below 20GM iirc, but difference is tiny anyway
ah i see what u mean. thx
go to pyro
stanton is random
how long is stage 1? cause hemara is 2x faster.
That doesn't make a meaningful difference
ok. so ill be fine with the huracan (i already bought it. so)
Again, just watch the time difference for whatever distance you want.
Stage 1 acceleration will only change things of a couple seconds in trips between a planet and its moons
9 second difference between them at both 60 and 6 Gm
5 sec difference at 1 gm
7 at 2.
so barely anything. indeed
Had a Scu lock on gathering RMC with the Reclaimer. Going to reclaim the ship and hopeful this is a fix. Anyone else have this problem?
Anyone try the hotfix to see if mining was fixed?
I think the hotfix is client side and on the same servers as the current servers, which would likely not fix the mining problems as mining assets are generated by the server.
painful - the rep gain from 2 senior hauling missions
only viable stack I found (did them in my C2) took around 1h 40min (330k x2)
no wonder it's taking so long to get through it lol
measuring it's about 18 missions to go
didnt think this would work because of the open cargo bay on the nomad but theses crammed in boxes somehow stayed on
Nomad is a great little pickup truck
yeah i think thats a total of 32 scu i rammed in
Nice
didnt think it would work after losing a few salvaged guns i put in a redeemer interior and they despawned or clipped out during quantum
The Huracan / Hemera break even distance is 36 GM, IF you ignore cool down time. When you add the the extra 22 seconds of cooldown time on the Huracan, the Hemera is faster overall up to about 95 GM.
AND the Hemera is more efficient.
ok thx
Hello citizens. Can I deliver cargo from hauling through admin terminal or does it have to be the elevator?
Hauling missions are only though the elevator
Okay cool thanks
Do all modules for mining Stack?
I keep trying to move everything out of a storage box into the station Inv. and it won't do it any work arounds?
Any info on profit per hour with gem mining? It's pretty nice to do but im trying to ean a phenoix ingame so I don't want it to take a year haha. Is it decent or does cargo or combat missions make way more per hour?
Go to the inventory kiosk instead of your freight elevator and open the container "old school" -> drag and drop each item.
where are the refinery box delivery missions in pyro supposed to go, theres no location marker
hab/clinic box deliveries seem fine
My experience mining Feynaline
100gems is 0.1 SCU and one patch of gems can be 100 to 200ish gems
Getting one field is usually a max 30min job
If you are lucky with finding gem patches you can gain around 200k/h a bit lower realistically
On average it's the same as bounty cargo but much less effort
Is autoloading working now in the hot fix?
Passive do stack 100%
Active should
When I bought commodities it just wouldn't show up in the c2
Store and retrieve ship
Can't wait for them to fix ATLS ship cargo unloading, hauling is so much easier with it..
Tap the cargo with a handheld tool then the atls will work
Yah but moving all the boxes to be able to move it again. Its really time consuming
Love the atls it works wonders
Does the auto loading work?
Cause id pay for it
Autoload should work
Just gotta retrieve and store the ship when you are in hangar before doing it
No need to move or at least I didnt need to
A simple click it once with a hand tool makes it work
But I agree it's really annoying going it anyway
Please explain for my dead braincell
I buy, select autoload. Then store and retrieve?
From what i seen autoload is very tricky you have to be perfectly parallel
No
You retrieve and store the ship before you go buy anything.
When you freshly log into the game or claim a ship
Go to your hangar
Retrieve the ship
Store the ship
Or before you load stuff from a refinery
Then buy and load
Same for refinery orders
That said, Hotfix supposedly has a fix for that issue. If it is working.
Nope
The recent HOTFIX was not to fix this issue
Its tried removing certain crashes and error codes
The new 4.1.1 patch that's currently on Evocati so basically a fancy name for hot mess in house stuff is fixing this
ETA would be a week or two I'm guessing
Potential Fix: PU - Cargo / Commodities - The player can autoload cargo with the vehicle unstowed, causing the cargo to be stuck to the vehicle grid
Ah so it tried fixing it okey
Would seem to me that's server side stuff but who knows
I will keep doing the ship shuffle till the end of my days tho
It is probably safer to do that
I still keep doing precautions for some old random bugs out of habit and a tiny bit of fear
All ~50 boxes or one of them is enough?
And yeah, no auto load/unload for hauling missions unfortunately, only for own cargo.
Yeah sadly each one of the boxes needs to be zapped once with the hand tool beam
There's one exception to that: Hull C.
I heard that there are 2 possible ways to fix that - turn off engines before full power off, and also Store and Retrieve the ship with cargo.
Gotta try that today
so... I flew all the way to Pyro, still doesn't work.
Try vuur
not wasting anymore time on this tbh, I trhink I'll just melt it and maybe by the time you can buy it it game it will work lol
Fair
Have been to so many places over so many days, it's never worked not once
But what's the main point of mining? I heard it is not one of the most profitable activities out there.
It's easy and I find it fun
Also it is good money
People who say it is not are doing pve ore hauling
Both to make good money require expensive ships
While mining can be done cheaper and with rentals
Might try later, but currently I'm focused on hauling. Started about a week ago, went straight for Taurus (CCU from Miner to get LTI) and now hauling and find it pretty profitable, especially with mission stacking.
But thanks for info
It's easy
It might not be the best, but if you like it, its personal. When i go mining i dont care ( mostly ) about cash/hour, i just enjoy the loop
Then if i land in a different place, like an outpost?
All good then
The important part is to be present as the ship stores
Makes sense
Why does it keep saying failed when I try to sell my stuff at the TDD
Sorry to be annoying but let me understand it. Imagin you want to buy a full C2 of beryl, and sell it in a city. How could you do it without moving boxes manually? Thank you
@weak tinsel
Im not joking, i love the hauling loop but i hate the box moving part
Unless there is a city or space station with a hangar that sells it, you can't
Outposts are manual load / unload only
If you purchase a full haul you can auto-load and auto-unload at significant risk. This rarely works if you have more than 1 cargo type inside the ship. It also rarely works at all.
To do this you need:
- Go to Admin or TDD at the station or planet based on the commodity you're selling.
- Select whatever ship in the list has your inventory (PS - it is not always the same as the actual ship carrying the cargo)
- Max the quantity and hit SELL.
If this fails it will get stuck at processing for like 5+ minutes. If you succeed it will put your ship into a new status and you will have to wait for the auto-load to complete.
RE: #2 - When you open the list of ships from the TDD/Admin console you will 99% of the time have to select either a different ship stored at that location or your own character name to find the cargo manifest.
Auto-unloading takes a little bit of time also. A full C2 will usually take like 10 minutes (last time I did it was during supply or die).
If you get a failure, you will need to switch servers and unload manually as you will not be able to sell cargo at that station on that server any longer since it will be in a bugged state trying to unload cargo from your ship.
TLDR: Don't use auto load/unload
hmm there was a server error was holding a crate after it came back then it dissapeared
lost a 8su crate yeap
that was the chris roberts tax, he taxed your crate so he can r&d more concept ships
it disappeared after i grabbed it
@tall karma thank you
Hmmm, How fun is Hand Salvage these days? I found an unmanned ROC on the ground and was thinking of trying to scrape it to bits, is that worth it?
I haven't tried it since 4.0 though, is it buggy?
Hand Mining? ROC does mining. Its buggy at the moment with many people reporting surface rocks are not targetable.
Oh geez, just re-read what you said
yeah, hand SALVAGE not worth your time
hand salvage is only worth it if you wanna touch up your ship's slightly damaged exterior, you cant sell the cartridges last i checked at a tdd
that is the only actual use i can magine for the cambio srt gun and cartridges
Do 32 SCU crates not snap to grid in caterpillar?
they fit but dont snap iirc
thx
do you have the graphic for C2?
It's in the pins, I believe!
ah it was 8 food su the one i lost
You know, I get that panel mining is like the big deal and all... but I think I'm just going to keep buying rights and salvaging ships.
Honestly neat to scrap everything, get in and pull cargo/components, that sort of thing.
Does pyro have more valuable ores to mine?
From what I've seen of the top mining streamers most are in Pyro.
Cool. What are the ores I should b looking for?
Why does the TDD keep saying failed when I try to sell my minerals. My ship was manually stored.
Have not tested it extensively, but I think the only hand salvage that works properly is using the multi-tool attachment and thus the small canisters. The larger canisters may be bugged. I don't think anyone really does hand salvage, and even regular ship salvage has gotten a few nerfs since 3.22.
There are "special" ores in pyro but they are equal to quantanium, most people mine in pyro now cuz stanton mining doesnt work
This is a very useful site for miners https://regolith.rocks/
are hand minables no longer scannable from ships? Meaning we cant locate via normal rock scanning locating method?
i dont think we ever were able to scan hand minables with ships since they only spawn in caves
however the GEO can scan ping and it does show hand mine rock so i guess it works
You could see them when you ping scan.
Thanks
Wish mining was more skill based like scanning a rock and finding Fishers inside of it to place charges and then crack it open over just sitting there trying to juggle a bar in a green area which is extremely hard to see with the way they have their inner thought system or hologram system I don't even know what to call it.
common, it's already the most skill based and complicated of the industrial professions
Generally Quantanium is top tier not sure about the others I traded off my Mole.
I've done the 698k Hull C experienced cargo hauling mission from terra Gateway to Pyro Gateway, but for some reason I dont see the mission anymore, anyone know where to go to pick that mission up? when Im in terra gateway or pyrogateway it doesnt appear
Whats the deal w/ the Connie Taurus? The cargo lift goes so low it beings to raise the entire ship up... and then the tractor beam keeps losing calibration and tries to grab the bottom of whatever I'm targetting - or worse - insists on latching onto the elevator when targetting small boxes.
Any fix or work around for these?
As for the first bit about the cargo lift - it drops to ground level, and if you're landed on anything that isn't completely flat then yeah, it's gonna potentially lift the ship up a bit
Dunno about the tractor turret - tractor turrets are generally best left as a last resort; you will usually be faster with a maxlift anyway
How much can u make with the geo per hour?
Didn't know the tractor beams were supposed to be unreliable? Its much faster with loading boxes than the gun when its not acting wonky. The cargo lift actually lifts the taurus a bit while in the hangar. You can see the shocks on the landing gear move as the ship lifts & the elevator raises a few inches.
Tractor beams are not meant to be unreliable, they're usually just less convenient than a maxlift
Usually the cargo lift lifting the ship up either indicates a bad landing (or landed with something underneath the lift) in my experience.
As far as the tractor beam goes, I've found it goes quite quickly but the aim is not dead-on with what I'm hitting. Usually I'm aiming just to the left of what I want to pick up, but so long as I do that I'm hitting my target reliably.
I love my tractor beam on my Connie, Atlas Mech is faster IMO, cuz its point and click, but having to get it out each and everytime essentially makes it useless cuz its fucking annoying.
Yeah, hate to disagree with Steve but usually the maxlift stays on my back most days now unless I'm trying to do some fine stacking/sorting or dropped a box behind a pile in the cargo lift.
The tractor beam has been ridiculously fast for me compared to how quick I can unload with a maxlift.
I shouldn't had said "meant" to be, I doubt its intentional, just meant that in its current state its wonky. I do like it as its much faster pushing/pulling, but for whatever reason the beam likes to go wonky on me and grabs off-target or snaps to the bottom of cargo.
Yeah, thats what I see when it starts to get inaccurate .. except for also watching it freak out start trying to grab the elevator floor no matter how hard I try to get a box.
If it grabs the elevator floor, usually means you (or it thinks you) missed a target.
Since shooting anywhere in the cargo lift attempts to grab it, which attaches to the floor 😦
So the first few times I thought i was trying to move too fast.. but then I've tried shooting it above the cargo and bringing the beam down from the top, over from the side, or diagnol & it'll snap to the floor. I have to spin over to my cargo, grab/drop a box and it'll let me grab off the freight elevator again
It seems to happen after i've loaded several boxes of cargo and have gotten down to the last couple boxes, or the 1 scu box.
Best advice I can give is to try what I described above. Your cursor should not be on the box, but just to the left of what you want to pick up.
Which input mode do you use for the turret? (eg. VJoy, Relative, Relative 1:1)
For moving boxes I go between the 2nd/3rd options. VJoy feels too touch and I fling cargo around lol
For me, it's more of a matter of "how much lost time do I have when something fucks up" and "how precisely can I place boxes the first time" rather than "how many seconds does it take me to unload 7x16 into the general vicinity of the cargovator"
You may be right and I simply haven't done that much hauling in my Taurus to realise the expediency of the tractor turret
In addition, I don't really do a lot of hauling/trading, most of my cargo moved in my Taurus is picked off bounty targets, so it's usually only a few boxes. Tractor turret is frequently not very helpful when trying to pull boxes out of, eg, a Starfarer.\
It may also be a personal experience thing too. Like I've not seen anything like what Siq is talking about.
If that was my experience with the turret regularly, I would stay out of the thing as well 😅
For me, that thing is surgical. I can sometimes intentionally target boxes that fell behind other boxes just because of that offset I mentioned.
Dang, second time today I've pulled quant out of a salvage today.
Think I'm sticking with claims lol
but i want it :(
so after a couple of weeks, how do people feel about the golem?
is it a reasonable sidegrade of a prospector?
or does it have limitations that make it not viable
I was sad i couldn’t change out the mining head on it but then I realized after a YouTube video it had a pretty good one on by default
Still looking to buying the prospecter in game for the bigger fuel tank or maybe saving up for the mole but I do t have a crew to run that with
I barely find quant but I’ve been getting lucky late at night at ARC-L1
I just got the Golem. Any fittings recommendations?
I got the golem only for the lifetime insurance, I love how it looks, I am sure it will get changed in the future if the locked mining head proves to be utter shit.
Its supposed to be a starter
Kinda shit but should be safer
That is why I got it. I want to have a starter ship for all gameplay loops. Mining, salvage, transport and combat. I have golem and vulture. I don't know what to get for transport as a starter. For combat I want Ares inferno.
What’s better for levelling hauling rep between stacking missions to the same places or spamming direct missions?
stacking missions. Seen it work on multiple youtube vids. deep research said the same when I had that question
Rep is per mission so yeah basically the more mission you can do faster, just note the XP scales by rank. So if you're member rank you'll getting twice the XP per Member mission vs junior.
The Nomad or the Cutlass Black are both considered starter by most
i find the nomad much cooler
the mining head is not that bad
requires mods to not boost it but to negate its issues
it is a starter and it makes sense that its not meant to be the best, the stats on it let it brake sizable rocks, its not gonna be a no brain needed task like with a modded prospector but it it good
then it is what I wanted. Just a starter as on launch I won't know wich is more profitable and do wish to keep up with the progress.
is the The Zeus Mk II CL a good option for cargo?
I just like the way it looks. but as functionality no idea
going The Zeus Mk II CL, vulture, Golem, Ares inferno at launch sounds good to me at least.
I wanted that laser on zeus to help load and unload faster so I don't have to buy an ATLS
transorting the boxes generated by golem and vulture + some cargo missions is more than enough.
and ares inferno just because I want to go brrrrr on PVE missions
huh. I just realized I am buying Zeus and Ares.
ATLS is 70k in game so doing a single hauling mission gets you the cash
I find the ZEUS kinda ugly and dont like it personally
but it is a good ship, only takeaway is that its tractor beam is kinda ass at lading the 8SCU or larger boxes
works just not very well
if you are willing to spend this much $$ on the ships yeah they all seem fine and its a nice starter lineup
yea. I am fine with this amount of money spent. I did buy Alpha 2 for ashes so I can't complain. So far I spent 120+ dollars. With the last 2 ships I will reach the max of my spending zone for this game.
Perhaps if they decide on Sub then I would buy a few years worth of sub if they are discounted
Did the game say anyting about business model? Buy to play, sub, microtrashanctions?
microtransactions is this game entire model
there are also sub like things to gain in the shop but its all cosmetics
afaik the game is a buy one and play forever deal
fair.
I have a Zeus cl and it suffers in cargo missions with over 8 of the 8scu boxes because of how it is designed
For example last night I tried a cargo mission because I have enough scu space on the Zeus cl but it gave me 10 8scu boxes which won’t fit sadly so the Zeus is nice for smaller amount cargo but suffers in the direct hauling contracts
fair. ty for that input.
Is there anything bad about Ares except having to dock every few missions to rearm?
I do find that a little disturbing but ehh. Brrrrrr
if there are more bad things then yea, I might reconsider
Will look then for a Zeus alternative. Or perhaps get it entirely to do Golem and Vulture transport. Will sit on it. I have all the time since the game won't release this century.
if I see zeus on discount, then insta purchace. Or with lifetime insurance
It will definitely work well for moving refined ore to sell
Zeus will not come with Lifetime insurance ever, but you can still get one buy buying something else that has LTI and upgrade it to a Zeus.
Ask in #ccu-and-fleet-advice for more details on that process and fleet advices 👍
By the gods that is a good idea. Tyvm for that info will look at it
And for hauling contracts specifically, I'd get a Spirit C1 over the Zeus CL, way easier to use.
If you're trading commodities or collecting refinery orders, then CL is alright
What is the bedst thing to mine atm?
quant as ever in terms of cash
Janalite
Yeah, with Taranite
How much does that give pr. SCU?
depending on sell point 19-25k/scu
You'll want to check that on uexcorp.space
Gold is fine too when it's not mixed with an other T1 ore.
Gold + Quantainium is a funny mix
very stable rock and no resistance, trust
120kmass/20scu
Currently only have the Avenger Titan and I’m looking at the C1 or the Zues, I like the Zues a lot but not sure if it would be wiser to buy the C1 since it’s like half the price of the Zues and build money faster than what I’m currently doing
They are pretty comparable. I like the c1 over the zeus personally, its a bit wider but the cargo hold can hold a good amount and firepower is actually a bit better than zeus i think? The zeus does hold more though and is tankier too.
Does the C1 have good enough cargo to make some decent money cargo hauling or even trading?
I’m generally a peaceful player so tankiness and firepower isn’t a large concern
It can hold 64 i think on grid, but more than that if you dont mind stacking boxes off grid. I think you can even fit 3 32scu crates in if you load them with the on board tractor. Doing this means youre stuck in the ship until you unload it though. Thats another advantage of the zeus, 3 entry/exit points vs 1 on the c1
how to use the mole's lasers. I scanned my rocks and now I jump to one of the seat and it's In fracture mode, but the laser wont fire.
Check the mfds and the lasers have the power bars in that column.
Has anyone had an issue where you buy and autoload cargo, but you only get like half or less of it? Anyway way to avoid this
i just delivered this cargo and it didnt complete and i confused
I did 30k when it was in the cargo transfer
Still around? Got a Mole and a few Geos free
hmm the atls decided not to grab things from inside the ship but works on things outside
Any way to avoid it? Don't autoload 😅
Hate to say it, but I've heard far too many bad experiences to trust auto load/unload.
Yeah your right
Sorry for no response! I found a mate to go with.. altho my Internet will die soon, so not much point now!
Is there anything cargo wise (maybe drugs) in pyro that makes good money.?
As someone who's literally never dipped into hand mining..how lucrative is this hadanite, beradom and feynmaline mining? Like, how many SCU can you typically bank from a cluster and how long does it take to collect?
Are there any hand/ROC mining specialists that I could ask a TON of questions to? 😄
Your source for all things related to Star Citizen mining!
While I appreciate that, I still need someone to talk to XD
I already use that, SCtradetools and uexcorp. These can only give me hard numbers. I need people's experiences
100 to 200 gems per cluster of feynaline from my experience
for trading use tools like uex corp
hauling missions pay good in pyro
How many gems does it take to equal one scu?
Preesh
Heyo, how to switch the ATLS from High to Low power fracture mode?
any way to fix bugged cargo that won't detach from grid or show up on TDD?
Alt + 4 (not F4)
Nope, don't believe there is.
Count the cargo as voided
If you blow up the ship maybe can recover some cargo, haven't tried soft death to see if that releases them
Given how much of a problem this was during supply or die I'm surprised they've not been able to nail down a fix.
how long does reputation take to update?
im trying to hail magnus gateway so i can offload my hull-c's cargo but it just isnt giving me anywhere to offload it, what do i do?
does the ROC fit in the Zeus?
Sometimes if a cargo is next to the locked one i can free it by picking up the other one though I've only done that to ones already on grid so no clue if it works with newly attached
Do the Stanton experienced hauling mission pay the same as the ones in pyro?
is selling in pyro for more money worth it or is it too risky?
So melted prospector for vulture, cause mining bad, what's good to go to get myself some salvage, I know panel's were slightly buffed up again
Is ROC mining bugged right now?
Is any Mining working? cant seem to even get a scan on nodes.
illegal salvo that pays you with the vult anything 8 - 13k you can eat whole, whilst the 24 and up you can only scrape
this is in stanton, havent done much/any in pyro
@brave birch @waxen coral
Planet based mineables in Stanton are broken across the majority of servers.
The only exception to this is the A&M Cave gems.
Space based mineables in Stanton should be fine.
Pyro should also be fine for both Planet and Space mineables, but I have seen varied reports of some servers still having issues in Pyro for planets.
I'd be surprised if anyone had levelled up to Experienced Rank in Pyro given the distances involved and time taken per mission it's just not time/productive
4.1.1 should, hopefully, be bringing a fix for Planet based mineables
Has anyone tried to do Hull C cargo hauling missions since the latest patch? They seem to have changed up the routes, and I couldn't get Everus to Pyro Gateway to work.
i tryed today.. but i get the commencing cargo transfer and it just hangs a 0:00 at Everus
Stick with magnus to terra
Usually don't mind solo big ships, but solo mole is pretty painful 😦
Oh, my poor Summer Child.
I wish this was the case, but I think this is the third patch since 3.20 that I've had this bug.
Until theyve confirmed a fix, don't expect it
What does these names mean in my upper right corner?
ooh, is the C working with commodities now?
@peak snow i was doing missions.. haven't tried commodities
I’m at 8mill away from hull c atm
finally found working minables lol. now I have to guess the charge level 😄
to be fair it's pretty easy to guess lol
must be an issue with the Geo - working on the ROC
I completed Terra to Pyro successfully a few times a couple of days ago, but strangely, that mission wasn't available for me yesterday after the patch. I only saw Magnus to Terra and Everus to Pyro.
anyone currently looking for a mate?
im avalable for now
EU server if possible
@ me if you want to go in
There's #looking-for-session to look for mates 👍
gotcha
is 1000 units 1scu of the ROC/hand mineables?
ta
I got myself 700 from 3 clusters, would have been 1k if I didn't mine the first lot with the geo (blew up most of them due to the scan not working lol) The ROC seems like a better option anyway due to all the extra storage 🙂
Does anyone have advice on where to start off with prospector mining? I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing lol
Just bring more boxes
It's a pain to keep changing them tbh, you can fit more in a backpack so it's actually faster just to move them into a 2scu crate via the backpack. The ROC can do 2 or 3 clusters before you have to unload it.
Getting into the Geo is annoying too, that long animation is borderline obnoxious
So to have to keep getting in and out to change boxes gets old fast.
Jumping around is hella fun though
I dunno- I found it quite fun when it worked. Bring an Aril backpack for its capacity- and just fill both up... then hop back,
Problem is I've done a dozen outings in the Geo now and something hasn't worked every time so that's kinda just given me a bad impression I guess. I know it's alpha blah blah but releasing broken ships time and time again gets old lol.
I need to dabble more with the ROC I think as I've not explored the different heads. The ROC though is just terrible over terrain so the Geo definitely has a big plus in traversal
Honestly, I could go to Pyro and make it work- but the event this cycle is in Stanton, and I'm stubborn (plus, I made enough money during Supply or Die I'm flush- its more for fun)
When its worked, its been very fun to me.....
Load up the Lancer with some 2 scu boxes, a container of Lux (and beer) and just stay on a planet. If the pool table actually worked, there'd be no reason to land again- well, that an cooking I guess
You've actually been able to mine stuff from the hole? I feel like I need to join an org to be able to...
Im about to collect some refined recourses how do i avoid the cargo bug
I've seen it work about half the time- and some of my org have gotten it all the time
Why is my ship not a valid inventory?
Sometimes the drop down for your ship is another line, it could be another ship of have your name, you'll know its the correct one when you see the cargo grid the correct size
On my last 3 trips with said Reclaimer lasering RMC or fracturing CM tops out at 10 scu until I empty the hopper. Started April 2nd or so. Repair not fixed it. Could not activate the self destruct process or crash it enough for a full claim. Anyone else see this problem- or a fix? Thanks
I'm at Port Tressler trying to offload commodities I bought at an outpost (and took ages loading by hand, but the cargo isn't appearing regardess of which line I choose
Try the line with your name
You didn't let the station automatically store your ship did you?
I stored it
You could try offloading by hand and see if they show up on the station inventory. Do PT definitely buy this commodity?
Maybe the ship is bugged then, you might have to unload them to the freight elevator
Make sure you go to the hangar before you call the ship in case it gets eaten
I have a feeling your ship has been automatically stored at some point and the cargo grid is broken
Retrieved ship, cargo still there
Can it be moved?
The cargo?
(You might have to get inside because there can be sn invisible wall)
Yes
OK so at least that works. Honestly can't tell you why the station won't see the cargo grid. I'd recommend just sending it down the freight elevator.
All 38 boxes lol
Well if you can't sell it the other way then I'm outta other ideas
Have you tried to select the "Select Location" that appears once you click the "Select Location" drop down box.
It's not working in this screen shot as I'm at my home location but when I'm out trading this has worked for me.
where do you pick up cargo in Orbituary? the hangar freight elevators never have my cargo for some reason
That should be the right place. Is it contracted cargo ? If not, I'd try leaving the elevator a few minutes and changing server region
yea it was contracted, kept happening on every server i joined. maybe it's an Orbituary thing
Hey, is there a list of ships in game with physical components? wanting to know what I can actually harvest when Im in my vulture
in numbers seemed it would fit but like this
For hauling missions what you do is: Take the total amounts of each type of cargo and divide by the max container size. That tells you how many boxes of that size you would need to move. Then you check the pinned cargo grid chart for your ship, and you can calculate how many boxes of X size it can carry, on grid.
Even if the size were all weird I'm still struggling to understand how a 696 SCU ship can have off grid cargo with a 339 SCU hauling job
It's the first time I'm hearing about this and I haven't done hauling in Pyro myself so idk 🤷 You looked on the IC for similar reports ?
Might not be the only job they have.
Also, not all Hercs are the same.
I learned about calculating load size early on, due to a mission where I had to take 2 trips to deliver everything.
Yeah, and C2 has some extra space in it useful for off grid cargo, though you would have to keep it in mind while loading.
That aisle in the middle of the ship
there yea just left those in the back
I have however had issues at times trying to put cargo on top of other boxes in the C2. The ceiling interfered.
seems i need one more contract lol
I've stacked two of those and got it mostly on grid.
It was a long mission though lol
it had a lot of small ones 4su
Yeah it's annoying when you get a lot of odd numbers
Like 111 scu, just make it 112 ffs lol
I'm sure the mission designers like to prank us
The numbers are randomly generated within a range defined by the type of job.
Successfully completed a 120 SCU run in a RAFT
1 SCU containers can fit on the elevator, after that it’s just loading them into the halls & such
@mild pumice around to make 600k per full ship now right at senior
ya.. it seems to be missing for me today to...
No I'm working, I might look later
Is the Hull C working reliably in 4.1? Thinking about buying one over a C2
Hull C is still 50/50
When it does work it's usually not without having to mess around such as loading/unloading multiple times until it successfully completes
Currently a C2 is a whole lot more useful in game
any workaround to Hull C commencing cargo transfer stuck on 00:00?
You can try cancelling and requesting cargo ATC again, you might need to wait for the clock to run down but as above Hull C loop is still very much 50/50
hmm two contracts but together its coming at 733 su 37 more than cappacity of c2
You should be able to squeeze them in there's enough for 4x16 off grid between the middle and rear grids
You can slide the 2s and 4s in the sides
(4s on their side)
so is mining a thing again or should i stick to salvage
and if i do decied to do mining should i still go with the prospector or the golem
I prefer to do these just 1 mission in the Caterpillar, takes around 40 mins and it took me almost twice as long to do a two stack in the C2 just with the extra loading time
should i just pledge for a mining ship or just buy one in game?
i guess i could always trade in my vulture and do mining
MINING - WHY INSTABILITY IS TAKING YOUR ORE, AND WHY YOU SHOULD REDUCE IT!? Let's find out!/ 4.1/ 4K
Hi everyone! We get confirmed some information from the developer's video, that high INSTABILITY in rocks reduces the amount of ore that we get out of the rocks which we mine ! Because of that, I was doing some testing on how much we can get mor...
@rocky niche if your at Everus Harbor.. it does that to me to... havent found anything that works
Use your Vulture to earn the credits for a Prospector unless you have something you could CCU to a Golem.
huh went all of its things it didnt auto complete itself
How do you add cargo from a station to a HULL C?
don't use hull c rn it's cooked
dang it
i dont think you can add cargo from your inventory.. you can buy stuff and set the storage location to the hull c... then you have to go to the cargo loading box and have it auto loaded
thats why im not investing anything.. doing missions
just finished up a smooth hauling stack in the taurus. ~45 min. 500k! doing some light fighter shopping now..
Hey yall, whats the key bind for opening the doors of your ship?
and closing ther doors
you should be able to bind to anything you want. mine is ;
toggles all door to open/close
Well guess I am not gonna sell my Titanium to New babage lol
turns out they wont open up the space port lol
(hangar isnt responding) Guess those DUI air traffic controllers arent just for the US... probally some bloks from Pyro in there hittin the beer hard
or what drugs are there in this game again?
Slam ?
Is ground mining still bugged?
Does off-grid RMC stay after a bed log?
depends - worked then didn't so it's def still hit or miss
What mining modules are people using for the Golem?
how do you prevent your head from bobbing when calibrating a mining gadget?
does autoloading for ships in hangars work or is it bugged?
ships must be stored to use autoload, suggest storing manually (not letting them be stored automatically) to avoid cargo getting lucked to the grid. Still the loading/unloading can fail sometimes and you can encounter other bugs like not being able to select you cargo grid on the trade terminal.
So manual loading is much safer
Manual is safer but nothing in this game is 100% reliable
if for any reason your ship gets auto stored while it has cargo, chances of bugging the cargo goes up
learned that the hard way
Yeah all mine supply or die salvage got bugged and stuck on my Caterpillar after a 30k lol
First I was like yay my ship was saved then sadge lol
And to add insult to injury it had sent my ship all the way from Ruin back to Orison so I had a long trip to my disappointment
Are the surface rocks mineable again in Stanton?
It's the CIG 30% tariff on cargo
Honestly, its faster to mine asteroid belts. You don't have to do too many jumps
I've ran across so many rich rocks that I couldn't crack
With auto -loading always store your ship manually from the ASOP in your hangar and wait for the lights to come back on in the hangar before leaving. At the trade terminal the ship you're trying to load cargo onto will almost definitely not be the one you need to select. In the trade terminal window after selecting the ship drop down menu click on all possible options (including the second "select ...") in the menu until you see the cargo grid for your ship. Then buy the cargo. DO NOT retrieve your ship from the station ASOP do it in your hangar. Follow the storing steps when going to sell as well.
Using the above I have had zero, nada, zilch problems with auto-loading. My caveat is that I'm only trading station - station or major city. I still don't trust outposts.
quick questin how do you guys unload Reclaimer?
You can print only 4SCU boxes and drop them easily through the rear small opening.
Or you can go with 16 SCU containers. They can also fit through that rear opening but there's like 5 millimetres of clearance and it's a pain to get them out.
Or 16 SCU containers though the main elevator, which is also a pain.
I believe the 4SCU way is the easiest, but that's a lot more boxes to move around.
thanks will try Reclaimer gameloop. i know that RMC is worth like 6 times more than CM, but is it worth going for RMC with ship like Reclaimer
just do 16 and drop them down the hole like this.. there maybe some concerning sounds.. but just keep tossing them down.. once your done one or two might be suck.. just go close the door and they will come out
thanks
make sure they go down like that.. if they hit one side and start to go down longways.. pick it back up and straighten it out
@uneven frost is CM worth it with reclaimer?
when i was running my reclamer thats all i did... scraping takes a lot longer.. espcially if you dont have a second person.
i would take the unverified salvage missions for larger ships. Caterpillars, Starfarer, hammer heads.. just go in.. grind up the ship ( CM ) then leave.. whit the ships i listed your usually full in one ship.. then i would quantom to dead space and go stack boxes.. after 3 or 4 ships i would go back to town to sell
but the ports where your Reclamer can land in Stanton are limited.. and usually those places are full on CM.. so you might have to stand at the terminal a while to get it all sold.. or if you want.. you can transfer to a hauler and find a station thats not full on CM, but that takes time to load, fly and sell. but you can sell directly from your ship.. but only the stuff thats attached to the grid
should i bother with checking cargo bays?
i didnt check to many.. but the ones i did.. didnt have cargo on the unverified missions
Hey* folks, me and a friend were trying to tow a Hammerhead into quantum, both of us in an SRV - couldnt get it to work
Anyone know how or even if its possible?
But even with multiple you cant tow bigger?
Becuase I remember that being mentioned in the past
I don't believe multiple SRV works yet.
darn
Tho even if the SRV can't tow S5+ ships, it should still give a bit of inertia to the ship when it jumps away, enough to move it a few kilometers.
At least it used to when it first came out.
Whatever, if the goal was just to move it a few kilometers, do it without QTing
Well the idea was to have a group in a distortion equipped hammerhead and do ERTs, and 2 people bring the disabled ships to where we will setup with vultures
with ERTs being all over place was hoping to bring them all into 1 spot
original idea was to go aboard the disabled ships then fly them to the salvage location, but iirc the re-powering time is around 30 minutes
It's 5 minutes
All power plants no matter the size need ~300 seconds to reboot. 5 minutes.
Also distortion weapons are very inefficient at taking shields down, so it won't be an easy task even with a HH.
Way easier to soft kill the ships with a stock HH.
Yeah all but rear turrets will have 2 stock laser repeaters, and 2 distortion scatterguns (the ones looted from Orbituary CZ)
Scatterguns are extremely unpractical. You need to keep your targets within 800m to land your shots and do anything meaningful
Ask in #flight-combat-racing for more about what's best to take ships down. I personally recommend you stick with full CF weapons.
But the plan isnt to destroy or soft death the target
You wanna salvage them right ? You lose nothing at soft killed your targets.
We want to setup a salvaging area with group of vultures and caterpiller, and combat side of org will bring them to the salvage area
Less downtime with travelling if they can continue munching
Yeah, you only gain efficiency by soft killing your targets
No downside for the salvage part
but its bringing the ERT targets to the salvage area, soft killed and they wont be transportable
Isn't it simpler to salvage them on site ? Or do you really want to move them around ?
We can salvage on site, but then its the vultures and caterpiller moving to the salvage site and getting into position and repeating
and hull scraping is a long process already, so more time spent hull scraping and less time moving around means more RMC
seems magnus is now bugged like Everus is for Hull C's... Commencing Cargo Transfer.. but timer stuck at 0:00 and no cargo movement...
well.. i got it to start.. but only after my ship was soft inpounded... i waited in the square will commencing cargo.. then got teleported into the station.. and ship was stored.. recalled ship but some of the cargo was missing (visibly).. when back to square and it started unloading.. also some cargo was stuck to my grid that wouldnt unload
so hmm should wait for getting the hull c thne huh
well.. over the past 3 days ive made a bit of uec... prob 10m.. but yes there were bugs to deal with
whats the method of finding ROC minables?
im at 5mill away from the Hull C atm
Hull C worth it?
Honestly no but there's some 700k hauling missions you can do with it which is nice money for low risk when it works!
thats what ive been thinking id make my money back but theres the risk of it not working xd
Did some cargo missions around Crusader and had to deliver to Brio.
When i putted my cargo on the elevator grid, everything disappeared and lost the cargo, thankfully it was the last destination so i just submited the mission
Seems same at Samson & son , other planetary elevator worked for me.
Does anyone have info on this ?
Was the cargo stored when the freight elevator reset itself? I.e, could you bring it up and send it back down?
No, the moment i interacted with the computer i saw there was nothing left and boxes disappeared even before i send elevator down. Nothing in warehouse too
similar thing happened to me placed cargo on grid then it disappeared when i interacted with console, but it was in locations inventory
however it was bought cargo
RIP
is specifically going for quant worth it in this patch or should i go for a range of ores? Its been a while since ive played
Is the C1+Mech > Taurus+Mech for Hauling?
I just got for a range of ores if planet mining worked quant would be best but as is its faster to just grab and go
okay cool would you say its more profitable than cargo runs or salvage cause ive made about 3mil off cargo from a rented freelancer max and trying to see what ship would be best to buy next
Stacking cargo jobs is still the best salvage has fallen off due to the unloading process and it really depends i like the starlancer but the free max would be easier to solo load and unload
Buying ships is all preference to what you want and can handle
okay cool ive just been torn between the prospector, vulture, some cargo ship, or saving for a mole as i have a friend i play with normally
Mole is the best if you have a friend but be prepared to move alot if your solo
Vulture is the most relaxing but lowest income
And the prospector is a good middle ground if your running a golem it's the same capacity just an fyi
would of liked to get a golem but not looking to spend much money on this game beside the initial aurura
to be fair you can get the prospector up to a pretty obnoxious amount of SCU storage playing with the bags lol
cant do that with the golem
anyone know any resources to fidn the fastest way to rep with junior hauling
stacking multiple jobs at once; IIRC from city to station at both Arccorp and Hurston is a good way to do this
the one with multiple deliveries?
No, you take like 6 small direct ones from ground to orbit, and run them all at once, then take one small or medium back down to the city
like this?
No
From city straight to orbital
And that's not a direct
Maybe Hurston doesn't have them
I found one from city to station but theres only one, do I just wait for it so I can stack up?
What i do is start at baijini point and accept the 5-6 rookie mission there are which all go to area18 then pick up 1 mission 1 or 2 missions depending on the ship back to baijini
id rent a taurus or freelancer max for sure if you dont have anything better
cries in Carrack
Such a nice ship in theory, such a PITA in-game
Will this game actually be a hardcore space game that actually needs industrialist and engineers or will they Pander to the masses and make it easy?
can you elaborate?
Example what they did with Item recovery. which makes Medical game play pointless
you are examining the game in an unfinished state; I dislike some aspects of T0 item recovery, but it's not fair to examine the top speed for a car before the wheels are attached.
Engineering will have a massive impact on how we run large ships.
Currently we treat ships as highly disposabe, but once we have engineering and repair, CIG's vision is that you would rather repair your ship after its been soft-deathed than that you'd claim it. Engineering will also add a lot of complexity to how we fly.
nah only way CIG can make us prefere fixing ship over claiming is longer claim timers but this is double edged sword considering ship spawning can bug out thus forcing you to claim it
And that's why cheap insurance is as it is - it's a concession for their buggy game
As they fix more things, we will have need to claim ships for bullshit reasons more regularly, an they will be able to implement insurance & warranty the way they've described it to us
Cargo is broken AGAIN can't use the Ats at least to move boxes unless I first pull them out
is that the old invisible wall in cargo elevators? I saw that's still a thing
The Alts just can't lock on to any Cargo that is on the grid unless I pull them off first
Try the turn off engines before power off trick, works for me
what i'm not sure about that trick the ship is completely turned off
Just submitted this and it's stuck processing order, am I screwed?
Just getting this now, does it ever go through?
First and last time trying the auto trading in 4.x lol
Took the hit on it and just sold it at Orison (unloaded manually to my XL hangar) at least I got my money back lol
is using the Hull C with experienced rank hauling contracts a good way to make 15 mil in a day or two?
It depends how lucky you are with the Hull C, you can encounter one or more of about a dozen bugs so the loop can fall down easy
But when in works 700k in <20mins is nice lol
help cargo hauling mission I staccked turned into regular commodity, I wasted soo much time, why did this happen
Wdym turned into regular commodity ?
6 stacks of mission bricked cause it can't tell the difference between different missions with the same commodity
stupid game really likes to waste my time
Stack them in a way you can tell the difference, or if you can't, send it all down the freight elevator, what's not counted should be cargo that's for an other destination
Someone recently made a tool called Hauling Companion, you could probably enjoy that for keeping track of what goes where and efficient route making
its a 6 location stack pick up all headed for everus. sent them all down cause theyre all for everus
i specifically chose 1 destination for i didnt have to keep track which is which
sigh
Aight, so what's the problem with not telling the difference?
You mentioned that
If it's not taking some of the cargo, bring it back up and down again.
@teal stream was the pickup from one or multiple locations? I've been finding the mission that pickup from multiple sites and drop at one bug out and only deliver one of the collections
Once the cargo is bugged it acts like a regular commodity, I have a bunch of waste that did this
multiple hdms all have overlap of iron,
this what happened
Yeah it's been an issue for me since 4.1 I've just been avoiding them now. Collection from one location that delivers to multiple seems fine tho
There should be an IC for it I'm pretty sure I contributed to one
ill avoid them in the future. very time expensive lesson for sure
Yeah that's the way it goes sadly some days
i saw someone saying that the abrades got nerfed
is this true and are trawler better now?
is quantum fuel bug fixxed yet? i hate having to store and take my ship out on every cargo haul mission
test it, it sticks per ship and each claim of the ship can fix it
your fuel is displayed top left when in QT mode, when warping away from a POI lets say a L station the capacity will suddenly update
if you had lets say 1/2 your tank and you warp away after only refueling without any additional hassle and you watch your fuel marker if it just glides along nicely then all good, when after a short amount of travel it dips then cancel QT and go back
i had it broken for my MOLE for a moment but claiming it fresh seems to have fixed it
completely missed the question....but going by that im guessing it hasnt been fixxed yet
Same as any ship minable, scan and hope they become active once you find them. So far I have been doing alot of Prospector mining and saw lots of ROC minable stuff mostly near shubin locations on lyria. If you scan them and they are not becoming active to mine them you can try switching servers until the rocks work - but just be warned you'll have to go find more to check to see if they are interactive each time. Once you find a server stay on it if you can. For me the ASIA server region was working. Also I ping with the mining head (fracture) active this seems to help when approaching. One last note when you return to refine, store the ship as per usual. Afterwards check to see if you still have a hangar available - if so go to it and then call your ship. If you call it from the lobby kiosks it might be destroyed - and IF it is - before you CLAIM it try logging out and back in otherwise you'll have claim time to deal with.
Whats the tell tail for the roc minables or do u have to go to every ping and just find out
they usually spawn in at about 3-4 out any greater distance is probably somethign for a prospector or a mole
for a prospector 8-11 seems about right but usually has a few impossibles in there.
yeah if a ping appears below 5km its most likely gems
idk if its been fixed globally but this is a simple way to see
There's a few ICs one is marked fixed for 4.1.1 so hopefully in the next patch.
The fuel bug, the ship getting called up with cargo destroyed, and minables not actually minable are 3 huge things the profession NEEDS fixed for QOL - I hope they fix those ASAP! They have to know its happening - I hope they can figure out why and correct it soon!
It would also be really nice if the prices would suddenly spike for certain things and then go back to normal - like aluminum. We get so much of it as a by product and then lots of people don't refine it - which should cause a low supply. That would make us all horders for price fluctuations, which could be interesting.
Wouldn't it be cool to know that miners were affecting prices in the verse for commodities?
Yes, but the point is: you land, you turn off engines ("I"), check that fuel bars show 0% (means engines off) and only then you Power off ("U").
Has to do something with ship state. System might think that ship is still "active" after you power off directly and will prevent your ATLS from interacting with the boxes using ATLS.
In evo or 4.1? Scrape rates have been less across the board since 4.1 but abrades still seem to be the best option right now.
They're constantly messing around balancing salvage, it works, just leave it alone and focus on all the broken cargo and mining loops lol.
This is refined ore which the ship is coming up from the lift it's not even on. I will try this next time.
yay. worked this time, picked up the goods for just over a mil in Pyro so around 450k profit 📈
nice, what route is this
Heph from Rod's to either Mic L4 or L5 (can't do Cru 4 because it's got no docking ports) but they all pay the same so you could do Cru L4 in a C2 for example
There are some better Pyro to Stanton routes but I didn't really want to invest over a mil
whats the issue?
i tried having the hull c on a pad and having it stored
both show this
when trying to sell
no idea, maybe its because the game has more bugs in it than themovie a bugs life
@nocturne rune where are you? (What station)
Cru L1
You can't use the Hull C to trade here
it shows on uex, where can i go
Only the 3 Jump Points and 4 LEOs
Not for the Hull C
The Hull C can only load/unload at the above
wtf then uex is really ass
Well it's showing you surface outposts too, it can't even land with spindles open. It's obvious not setup to know about Hull C loading
which stations work then? all jump points and what are LEOs?
The only places are, Stanton/Pyro Gateway, Terra/Magnus Gateway, Everus, Tressler, Seraphim and Baijini
These all have the special docking areas for Hull C
You have to unload in the blue box yeah, after you've made the transaction at the kiosk
i can do the transaction while its stored?
Yes or you can leave it on the docking collar if you're quick
Dont worry not like CIG made trading with Hull C painful
okay thank you
what are the most efficient rountes then?
got any on your mind?
Just stick to routes that go via the stations I mentioned, you can also do the haulage missions to/from those locations without investing your own money and without going to the Kiosk
Assuming Hull C works
For haulage missions you just turn up and request cargo ATC
Same applies to trading lol
how much pay?
Up to 700k at experienced rank
Personal experiences say trading works more
There's quite a few around 250k are less cargo so don't make the Hull C fly like a brick lol
I've not had any Hull C hauls completely fail recently but they're short 75% of the time but you can still submit for part payment as long as the cargo shows as delivered
I lost my hull c becouse it was loaner so i cannot say atm
My goto route though is the senior rank Hur 1/2/3/4 325k in a Caterpillar, take around 45mins (I know you can even more p/h) but for the rep it's my goto
I simply Use Cat or SL MAX and trade with gold or fresh food
No demand, wait more
ough
can i go somewhere else
any good spots?
idk websites for that
Just want 5 to 15 mins for it to refresh
The reason it says 0 is because the demand is <32scu (your smallest container) just FYI
I've heard that at least some stations only accept medical supplies in relatively small bunches, or something like that. You could try doing a search for Hull C and medical supplies.
yea im waiting for now, im already able to sell 7/8
waiting to sell 8/8 and then head out
will try this next
Make sure to select "Load dock"
how does that work then
cause i requested
flew in the box but didnt get any contracts
You have to take the hauling mission first, check mobi and make sure the locations in the mission are compatible with the Hull C
so basically any hauling mission
with those points
okay
Yep. The interstellar ones are usually a safe bet
Some of the direct solar go between LEOs too. Note I've never tested a mission with the Hull C that goes to multiple locations
Noob Q: what's best laser for Golem?
It has a bespoke laser, you can't change it, it does however have two module slots
it doesnt change the time
it stays like that
what do i do
Sometimes it just fails, or you need to attempt loading/unloading again. The Hull C is a bit of a pain to honest
Welcome to Hull C life
okay so I just bought 1.4m in cargo and then i accidentally left the server (i was pissed the loading didnt work) so i switched but now i have to claim my ship again (the cargo wasnt loaded yet)
are the 1.4m gone or can i just load it onto the new hull c on the new server
if the cargo wasn't loaded then you forfeited it. (one of the reasons I will not Hull C trade)
which includes a failed load
this stupid fucking game
this is such a shithole
they really have to get their FUCKING priorities straight
omfg
the Hull C is pain, we did try to tell you!
i've heard like 3 bad votes and 20 good ones so far
that's why I would never invest anything with that ship I'm not prepared to lose
why the fuck dont they give u the money back when it fails
like what the fuck
"hmmm you didnt get the cargo, well just keep the money then"
what the fuck is this
yep it's a bad system, the Hull C issues are all well documented, it hasn't really changed since it was releasad tbh
sorry but what the fuck are they even good at
I have a feeling it's kinda been abandonded whilst they figure out a better way to do it
just remove it at that point tbh
well the game is still in development, whilst I wont make excuses for the state of the Hull C I will say that what can help is updating any ICs with your steps to reproduce the issue and you can give feedback on Spectrum too.
There have been fixes made (or attempted) for the Hull C and it's issues. That doesn't mean they are all fixed though, especially since new issues can pop up with any update.
I think the best way to use a Hull C is via hauling missions. Any missions that do not work at all (aka you can't deliver any of the cargo) you can let auto-fail when you log out. That said, I don't know for sure how well the Hull C is working on the current hotfix.
There is a Youtuber who has been doing a bunch of Hull C testing named Captain Deadwake, and his most recent video (via the description) seems to indicate the Hull C's gotten worse a bit during 4.1 and it's hotfixes. Haven't watched the video yet myself though. (I don't have a Hull C.)
this is annoying, 4x in a row the main body of the starfarer despawns after to fracture 😦
so I claimed my refined orders to my taurus - its empty. Went back to refinery orders are gone - the question is did I just lose all of my refined orders? I do not see it in the cargo area/inventory either - yikes 3 days of work!
any advice besides just stop trying, lol? I did see they are working on the surface minables and may release a hotfix in the next couple of days but that wouldn't address this...
Store and retrieve the Taurus until cargo is there
Is the RAFT any good?
-# ||no||
I think the RAFT is a good ship, from a design point of view it's one of the nicest interiors however it suffers from being a role focused ship with many multi roles ships that are significantly better choices right now. It still lacks its tractor station and the benefits of the exterior loading have no real content that takes advantage, for example most medium hauling missions are over 100scu so it's immediately ruled out.
Seems like that might be a side effect of fixes they've tried to do where two physics objects are clipping into each other? May be ship specific, and you should do an IC if you haven't already.
Yeah I've grabbed the evidence will have a look if I get time tomorrow on IC
thanks I will report back good news if this works!
I did also check assets, when looking into the taurus it just kept spinning so its making me think its in there!
Its there, all of it - thanks for the hopium and glad to see that worked!
That particular bug has been around since 4.0 Preview.
Fortunately it's easy to workaround.
Loading 8/16/32 scu boxes it’s great. Loading 1/2/4 boxes it’s terrible
So I took down an AI cat and it's FULL of some boxes called carryable_tbo_fl_16sc_u_commodity_metal_iron
Is....this just iron? Why the complex name?? What IS this stuff?
can I share my contract and still get full rep for hauling?
on any shared contract everyone gets full rep, but pay is split evenly
thas good to know very good to know I'm trying that on hauling
I hope they update the loaner ship for the pioneer if another building ship is getting released before which is probably most likely.
how much can u make an hour with a vulture?
I have seen ppl say between 250-500
I'm guessing depends on what you scrap
But it seems to be on the higher end
yeah that's about on point I'd say, a full load around 39scu is around 400k depending on where you sell and panels it takes me around 40mins or so to scrape that so give or take some time to offload/sell/eat/shit/etc sounds about right
thats not bad, whats the best industrial profession rn for money/hr?
Can somebody give me the top turret from the hornet A mk II for my hornet mk II I pay for it ofc
Not the correct channel and afaik that method seems broken and will void it
Hauling and with this either missions or trade where missions seem easier done
how to get the turret then im sorry for wrong channel im new on this server
No idea tbh #flight-combat-racing or #helpdesk might be a better place
Mining if lucky can be a lot but its rng of what will a rock spawn with
But I can make a steady 300-500 per haul depending how lazy I am and that is roughly and hour if you remove the refinery wait times that are 12 to 30 hours
If you feeling funky you can wait over 60
the industrial loops are pretty well balanced now (IMHO), earnings are similar the only real yard stick now is skill to make more/less.
and a little bit of luck too 😉
SC can still take 2hrs of your time and say FU
Yea the doors to Heartbreak Hotel can always open wide to you.
Like I had a new wrinkle last night. Me and a friend used 2 Vultures on my new Polaris. I loaded in some 37 crates but at the TDD Orison it said I had 58 crates that were stolen and blocked the sale. So now I try the ships owner.
i learned very quick not to get attached to my cargo or mineables
in 22.1 when i only had 16gb and it would constantly stutter and crash i would pray like someone on their deathbed that client recovery worked and it would put me back in my seat
During supply or die I took 300scu of goods all the way to Pyro only for the shard to die when I arrived. Ship was stored in Stanton again and cargo now locked to the grid. You just gotta laugh tbh lol
58 crates sold okay once transferred over. Guess I had some extra I forgot about.
I honestly feel like I make ridiculously more money doing hauling contracts compared to other industrial... but it's balanced by the fact that my hauling missions can break at any moment
Mining and salvage are pretty chill, but I never feel like I'm getting anywhere close to my hauling numbers. One round trip pushes 500-600k usually.
as long as numbers going up I'm happy tbh lol
Same 👍
I only mention it as I would much rather spend my time salvaging than chucking boxes, and sometimes just take the loss and do it anyway lol
Granted it's hauling in a taurus versus salvage in a vulture, so it may not be a fair comparison 🤔
Big price tag difference between the two.
What do the colors means on commodities on uex website ?
dont remember colors
some commodity might be like "minable only" o cant buy in any shop
some are marked as buyable
and i assume red = illegal so like drugs etc
well you are comparing 170whatever SCU of cargo space to like 20? for the vulture
and a mole with 96 scu of ore can be compared imo but it ends up either a little low or on pair
Yeah, that's more what I was getting at. Might pick up a rec and see if I can make a fair comparison then.
Personally can't get into solo mole.
I just dont have friends who wanna mine so i do it solo
Its fine imo and i find running up and down less of a hustle than constant 32scu runs of the prospector
I think I wouldn't mind solo mole so much if
- The ladder thing was gone (where you get off the ladder, then get teleported back to the ladder)
- From the pilot seat in mining mode you could get the mining information on your current target.
That way I at least didn't fly up to something, then have to climb downstairs to find a clearly impossible asteroid in front of me 😅
You can get the asteroid information in mining mode from the pilot seat currently.
At least for me, I was not getting the asteroid info.
Might give it another try 🤔
Yep. Might be the asteroids. Sometimes you need to give it a few or fly off and back.
You can otherwise reliably get the asteroid information from the pilot seat.
Mining on surface works now ?
Judging by #general-news it has a good chance to
I didnt check yet if it work in Stanton, but it has been working in Pyro for the most part
Ok thanks !
ok so is there a work around for the hull C unloading glitchy mess thingy (acts like theres something near me or im moving or something)
Heard great things about pyro, not heard anything about Stanton yet.
Stanton I still just stick to asteroids tbh
Were people finding surface mining to be more profitable than asteroid mining?
I'm surprised how often I'm hearing about surface mining since the break, though asteroids were the place to be.
Surfuce mining is much nicer imo
cluster spawn with a range of rock masses, so always something to mine by any ship, and for a mole you find one and you are full
asteroid mining has never been good for me, most of the time i find tiny less than 1k rocks
Q: is Abrade still the best for Vulture?
Yes
thank you
What is the highest contract in salvaging and clean up?
The biggest cleanup is the Starfarer or Hammerhead, they don't pay much, maybe 23k. You do it for the salvage though. Note the Starfarer one is bugged, the main body can't be scraped and despawns when you fracture, you only get like 33scu of CMs
I've not levelled up the legal ones recently because the buy in seems too high tbh
Also haven't tested the Pyro ones.
Directed here from help channel, my hull C keeps spawning at docking port and i keep getting a black screen. I cant seem to get it to spawn in a hangar instead of at the docking port. any advice appreciated.
WAIT WAIT
I just saw the wave 1 patchnotes
Ships and Vehicles
- Argo Raft Cargo Improvements
- The 3 arms of the RAFT has been retired in favour of a single grid that supports 192 SCU cargo capacity instead of the previous 96 SCU.
DID THE RAFT BECOME THE CARGO GOAT?!
I rented one to try it out because I was tired off gridding more than 46scu in my cutty and wanted to see how the external cargo grid life was. Really enjoyed it.
Doubling the storage is incredible and will likely make me buy one in-game now.
when are we supposed to get front weapons back to the cockpit again?
i remember in a note somewhere CIG was giving the pilot some guns in a few ship to include the reclaimer but i wasnt able to shoot
You get the top turret
still wasnt firing :/
I think you gotta give power to weapon systems
it did -_-
yes, no guns in nav mode
.-. i see
welp i already logged out so :/ rip that salvo
i was gettin jumped by this random npc that popped from nowhere in pyro
Probably somebody accepted a bounty contract somewhere and that NPC spawned in for them
I can’t wait to use the Raft again.
Hello guys, I'm new here. I've been in and out for a couple of years and now feel is the time to give the game more time. I want to try my hand at mining. I read about the convo cutlass+roc to start something not that noob, is ok? I'm currently saving money to buy those vehicles. What else do I need to start a mining operation? Can I do it by hand for now? Totally new here.
Any Hull C pilots know why i keep missing cargo on contracts? Doing Terra gateway to magnus, i wait in area completely still until blue box comes back, last contract missing 50SCU and lost 100k of reward
Its just the way the cargo loads. Normally there's a non-32 SCU box or two that get loaded before the rest of the 32SCU boxes and that screws it all up, so you don't get them all.
You can still submit for a lot of payment and good rep anyway. Just gotta have 50% delivered or better
how people liking RAFT now?
192 scu and a Wide open grid. And cool argo style and interior
I really, really hope that the grid is 8x12x2, and not some stupid 8x8x3. Then it'd be the most awesome hauling ship ever (with the tractor beam and stuff)
Edit: just saw a video, it's 8x12x2, fits 6x 32SCU containers. Yipiiee!!!
Anybody care to answer a few questions about trade routes?
sure
When you have the cargo in the ship...Which one do you hail? the station, or the station-cargo? And how do you sell? Do you unload into the warehouse or can you just sell directly from your ship at the commodity kiosk?
Unless you have Hull C, you hail the station. For selling you have two options
a) Unload to freight elevator, send it down, then sell at Commodities kiosk (in TDD, Administration office, whatever) directly from the location's inventory to them.
b) Store the ship with the cargo (only in cities, stations etc), then sell at Commodities kiosk from the ship's inventory. You pay a small fee and the ship is blocked for a few minutes while automatic unloading takes place
Alright, awesome. Thank you.
So for future reference, the only time you hail station-cargo is with the Hull C?
AFAIK yes (I don't have it personally, it's second-hand knowledge, but all "normal" ships always hail just station, get hangar assigned and trade from there. Hull C can't land in hangar)
Gotcha gotcha. I'll never be able to afford that lmao.
Imma have to see the new beam on the raft cuz the old one had such a perfect placement, and i wonder if they are gonna change its price now since that is a lot of cargo for a 3.5mil ship
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGu42KrfyMo - there are a few glimpses how it looks with the beam... I'll probably stick to maxlift to stack boxes properly, but for unloading it might be useful
4.1.1 Has gone to wave 1 and in this video, we'll be checking out the changes to the ARGO RAFT, as well as the brand new space combat missions, and asteroid base locations.

itd be so slick if there was a dump all/jettison cargo function
RAFT upgrade is great, more plunder 😄
Well... it's a ship for friendly skies. And this is exactly the reason why Taurus, C1, Zeus etc. still have their place in hauling. RAFT is slow, unable to defend itself, and everybody sees it when you're loaded.
Will be great for those medium hauling missions
Anyone know if the RAFT still kicks people out to the space? Im really concerned
i have been using it since 4.0 and before and never had that issue
@weak tinsel out of those 2 locations which one do you recommend for a noob?
both Yela belt and L stations are ok
any of the XXX-L[number] [name] are space locations that have asteroids around them
Yela belt is a asteroid belt around the Yela moon of crusader
warping to Yela then to any OM you manually fly to the asteroid belt
avoid space arond GrimHex tho
you can also go to regolith.rocks they have a large table of where can you mine what minerals
remeber tho it is a player run site and the data is not 100% accurate and mining is rng so you wont always find the best stuff
Okay im scared of players so im trying to find secluded areas
there is 2 L stations around each main planet and then some on each planet orbit
and when you dig out some ore you then have to refine it at the L stations sicne only they have refineries
dont be in stanton and L stations are usually empty
only places in stanton to be worried are OLP's and GrimHex port
Okay thank you, I’m on my way to a rock
I pressed tab
And it shows a place that said unknown
yeah then dont fly DIRECTLY at the unknown
and if its a multiplication of 1.000 it is salvage debries and not rocks so watch for that
I just pressed M
Then pressed Tab
It scans and shows it for like a second
Then goes away
yeah thats usually how it goes
ping it point your ship at the marker and fly
yeah
each rock has 2 important stats
MASS
resistance
Okay I’m on my way to 2nd rock
mass = how much laser power is needede
resistance is a % multipliation of that mass
so example -- 1000 mass and 25% resistance is 1250mass in reality
Okay got it
I keep finding impossible rocks
Okay I found one I can mine
Wait it’s outlined purple that means I just need to extract right?
yeah thats sadly how asteroid mining is
you find a single rock that usually is big
planet side mining has clusters of rocks and most of the time if not always there is one or two small one
Okay got it
it says its a extract rock
but i guess the outline says the same
kinda scared to extract
OKG I THINK I extracted
Let’s goo!
And I hit the asteroid and blew up my ship by accident, but it was a great start
@weak tinsel Why is it all of a sudden when i go to the markers that say unknown after I ping theres nothing there?
Almost like it’s invisible
servers have gone down for maintanace so thats probably why
if it didnt kick you out then just log off
its around 2 more hours
Oh, I just rejoined another server after leaving that one?
Are we not able to play the game during maintenance
Nope, servers are all going down, patches are being installed.
WISH we could collect refined ore (boxes) to the station for collection from the cargo elevator, that way I could optimize my "sell" routes.
So happy about raft getting more cargo! Though my gut says they will nerf other aspects of it to make it not too meta
Feynmaline is a ROC/Hand mineable. Don't believe any ship can mine it.
if ya wanna blow up yes
huh
damn so none of it is a big rocc
any gem is hand minable
some are only hand some can be roc mined
big rocks pay more than gems imo but i like to mix it to not get bored
Technically hand-minables can be "mined" by a ship. I do that whenever I am on planets with my prospector. I will light up the rocks with the beam for just a split second and let them heat up and then just barely explode. Most of the time it will scatter the gems around the zone, so after doing that with a buncha rocks, I climb out and just collect them by hand. 🙂
huh, fascinating. Didn't realize overcharging gem nodes still gave gems.
They do, just less, dependant on how overcharged it was
Would anyone that owns the misc fortune recommend getting one?
if a gem rock is mined when overcharged but not blown up by fully overcharging you lose a % of the gems and they are launched at high speed most of the time so you get maybe a 1/4 of them
That's what I get for assuming my ship laser would just vaporize gem nodes 😂
While I do not currently own a Fortune, I do not because I went back to the Vulture.
The Fortune is nice, but I would only buy one again if it was significantly cheaper than the Vulture. The Vulture has more effective space, and while not as pretty, has the appearance of an industry focused ship.
This is of course, just my opinion.
That's why you gotta know how to overcharge them. Sometimes yes, they explode and throw them in the air all over the place. But when I do it, about 2/3 of the rocks explode and scatter the gems neatly in the area. And since to me this is more of an extra when mining for rocks with my prospector, anyway, that is more than enough for me.
it would be so much easier to just rent a ROC or buy one but yeah it is doable
There's a storage space in the back of the Prospector to put hand mined stuff too
Yes it would, but if you look above, that was not the original question anyway. 😉 it was about whether gem nodes CAN be mined with ships.
Oh yeah and that also, that little openable thing in the rear, true!
I know, "ackshully" it's for gadgets, but uh.. yeah... I just store those inside
Does anyone know how much the max-level cargo hauling missions pay?
Some are around 600k that I've seen, but they generally aren't worth it. If you stack smaller missions, and have a big enough ship, it usually maths better than 1-by-1'ing the big ones and is about the same amount of work, but with competitive pay and way more rep
Man when 4.1.1 drops RAFT gonna be really popular for hauling/trading
Do you think I could make faster returns (than the vulture) using the misc fortune if I just munch contracts and go?
I mean, not likely. Perhaps this has been changed, but don't you have to scrape a minimum amount to be able to munch? Also Construction Materials sell for drastically less, and even then, if it worked to just munch, the Vulture still has more effective storage.
Vulture and fortune are more efficient for scraping than munching because the sell rate is soo much higher and yield is low. Munch and go is really only viable with the Reclaimer
I forgot about the min salvage - great point. Thanks
With minimum finagling, the Fortune holds 27 SCU, where the Vulture holds 39
Fact, just unloading time makes it FEELS so much less efficient.
Oh I was talking pure on the grid. Cause I’m not a fanagler. 😗
Ahh, even then, the cargo distribution is faster to unload on the Vulture. Granted, you save time on the loading initially, but when you factor loading between travel, the Fortune is just slower overall
Thanks, I think I just love misc ships and needed a reality check.
I getcha, I'm an ARGO fan. Looking forward to the RAFT rework
when ARGO salvager
Right? ARGO needs a medium-large salvager
This, my wallet its waiting. MOLE size and im in
RAFT spawn on low level bounties should be able to nab some cargo off them lol
not even MOLE size
like just a vulture or similar but ARGO
tho ARGO having a middle size ship between vulture and reclaimer makes sense
Actually, the RAFT with 2 pilot controled salvage arms ( like the vulture) on those 2 metal chunks on the front
Makes sense
100scu storage
Calling for CIG. Ill pay 400
hmm yeah
refit it to have mole like pods on the sides
If fly ready now, 500
Lets roll
I still dont know why ARGO, the industrial brand, doesnt have a salvage alternative
Doesnt make sense
it makes a lot of sense
CIG is lazy
Perfect size for 1-2 people, for solo and party
If the RAFT sales are good, i really hope cig makes the salvage version. Lots of people like salvaging concept but hate the vulture. And the reclaimer its overwhelming for lots of people
Salvage RAFT with auto loading would be sick
Maybe that's why they changed the grid lol
i feel like they changed the grid to have a excuse why they didnt make the tractor work
I have a RAFT on my alt so look forward to using it for the medium hauls
like the grid is ugly as fuck and makes no sense
and with that they can lazily slap a shittly placed tractor beam on it and call i a day
