better question
do they work?
if so yes they are a massive help
much more power but the atls is still a nice utility
they work but the angle on them means u cant really see inside the comparments
didnt really use them myself since the last time i had a Caterpillar was like 3.18
Yeah they're not super useful. I don't use them, i load with a max lift from inside
In my experience, you can get stuff into some of the cargo bays with the tractor beams, but you wouldn't be able to place things with precision.
I would more likely load a Cat via Maxlift. The real trick is getting a good angle, since you want to load from the right but the freight elevator positioning is setup more for left side loading.
where can i buy the abrade salvage head for the reclaimer?
Most ship part stores under Stanton jurisdiction seem to carry them
Yes and yes, but ideally with another pair of hands. As others have said you can load with Maxlift, I like to use ship tractor to get the cargo to the doors and then I'll get them into the bags from there
anyone having issues selling tin and ice at cherckmate
@glad ivy thank you mate, appreciate your feedback!
I really wish accidentally clicking on a lower row box wouldn't automatically dislodge the entire stack off the grid, making all adjacent grid positions also unattachable ๐
especially with something like the Taurus' tractor beam, which fires bit off-centre and not at its reticle ๐
hey friends, whats the ping number to look out for when trying to find a rock with Tin?
Resupply missions are broken sending ice and tin down the freight elevator does nothing
any tips on where to find tin?
Adir, Bloom
thank you!
any tips on how to not get blown up while going to Bueno on Bloom?
funny how freelancer max is listed as "heavy freighter" but taurus is "medium"
Hey guys
why won't this refinery let me refine my load?
you haven't selected which ores are to be processed.
yeah Hep is the only one that's selectable, at the bottom
I have 7 completed orders. Do you have a limit you can hold in the refinery? Trying to do this blasted supply or die mission
I don't think there's a limit, no.
oh it might be bugged, there's a "processing your request" popup over the select buttons
Thank you!
happy mining! I've had good luck at tung and alpha, near checkmate too
Hey guys
the mole bag expansion is the bomb
What kind of rock is it?
Thank you once again! :D
I have always been able to click through that popup
if I deliver more than half cargo but not all, does the rep also get prorated like the money?
I was going to ask a question, but it seems not people are online
OK never mind
I remember seeing it a while ago but are you able to combine single SCU cargo into multiple empty SCU containers
Not sure if that's still a thing, but you can just buy stor*all boxes from any station with a cargo shop
they're cheap
yeah I had bought multiple empty containers to move a haul of salvage but no luck in combining the single scu Containers. didnt know if someone had any insight or such or if they killed that very useful feature
you cannot combine boxes currently, there's no mechanic to do it
Devs have said there will be a way in the future, we don't know what that will look like
The fact that the SoD missions return leftover (smaller) boxes of resources to you is a new thing, it used to be that if you submitted 12SCU for a 10SCU contract that you lost the spare 2SCU
I remember seeing it when cargo was released I guess it was too buggy
What the deal with the small salvage contracts not completing? I've had a couple now and since the event started I've only completed 4 small quests. What with fighting all the game's glitches I feel totally defeated. Going back to play for fun. Over and out.
has anyone gotten the new pyro high selling ores, the r and s one, are they any good to grab?
if you get the screen for the mission commodity submissions, the counters of all commodities go from 0/XX to XX/XX, and the mission doesn't complete
Don't try again, you will lose it again
Server hop.
Buy a large stor all box (my pref is the 8scu)
Put your commodities in the cargo elevator,
send down said elevator,
drag your choosen store all box to the left side of the warehouse,
open the store all box while still in the warehouse menu,
now drag wanted commodities into the now opened store all,
close store all,
move store all to opposite side of warehouse.
Your wanted commodities should now be in the store all
Rinse and repeat for all desired store all & commodities
Hope this helped
All of this can only be done whilst at the cargo elevator warehouse terminal
Thank you was not trying to move over 100 1scu boxes
.> crap almost forgot @sinful parcel
To turn in contract items do the opposite
You can not turn in contract commodities in store all boxes, the game will not recognize the commodities
I already tested that part
Good to know
Good luck and happy hauling

Be careful with those boxes
They expensive and can add up to quite a bit if you lose them
Iโm trying to buy tin and the place I am buying from has 10 scu and the smallest box is 8 scu meaning I should be able to buy but Iโm still not able to. Anyone know why?
maybe someone else bought it first?
I keep reloading and still says it has ten scu. How long does it take to refresh?
What other gadgets besides the boremax are good for a prospector
what happens if you go over the 1000 scu limit at a station?
What mining laser should i put on a mole if i mine by myself most of the time
This is what I run. Then as a secondary for tough rocks I've got a Helix II with a Rieger-C3 FocusIII and Stampede/Surge
For the 3rd, i've got another setup identical to my first. Hofstede-S2 and 2 FocusIIIs for when someone joins me.
If I've got 2 other people running with me I either swap the Helix II to my #1 slot so I can assist with breaking big stuff, or run a 3rd hofstede setup. The green sections get hilariously large lol
Anyone know why the cargo grid locks to the ATLS once cargo snaps to the grid?
i can move with my max lift but not atls
I might have a slight lil issue... have anyone else had difficulties retrieving their refined stuff?
I couldn't get it out no matter the ship I selected?
Yes. Join a new session in a new location.
Like if you're in na servers join EU
yeah, I figured that was an option, so I am doing that as we write
noticed as well that cargo wouldn't snap to the grid either
The shittyness about this event for me, is that I have passed up COPIOUS amounts of REALLY good ore... in favour of Copper...
Quantanium in super high quantities, taranite, bexalite and gold...
I've actually followed another Prospector once... who scanned a bunch of rocks with really good ore - that had no copper in it
At 10.5k per scu for just a TDD sell, I think Coppers holding its own- considering Taranite is "only" at 9.5k
Corundum is lighter and easier to mine tho- shoot for that
which turret is which on the MOLE? i put my helix (which I want on the nose) in slot 2, is that correct?
Nose is 1.
One is front, Two is left side, Three is right side.
thx
Anyone else make the mistake of buying something at an outpost just to find out outpost elevators are shit?
I know I just did
Sorry if you already have a solution for this, but for me I just exit the kiosk and load it again then it works.
Yeah for me I just ended up shard hopin.
I tried the two different kiosks that where present at the location
Ah ok. Too bad, it's worked for me (so far).
where are some good roc mining spots near MT?
iirc MT itself was nice
like in caves or just in general?
been a few years since Ive been roc mining so idk anything anymore lol
hey i want to mine corundum and copper for the event where should i do it and what do i need to do it?
i tried to do it at arc L2 with a rented prospector but all the asteroids were too big to fracture
mic L4 for copper and Clio for corundum has been good for me so far
are the rocks there small enough for a rental prospector to break?
you can certainly try, but it took me in my mole for a few of the rocks there
how abt if i buy a prospector and someone told me to put a helix, surge and stampede on it
im quite close to having enough money for it
my buddy was able to do it in a prospector ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
yeah but with mining mods and not the stock mining laser probably right
no it was a rental
np
mining on planets is much easier done for a prospector since rocks spawn in clusters so usually there is at least one minable for you
rental and non rental dont have THAT big of a difference in mining size
mining in L points or the belt is not recommended for prospector since its usually big rocks or really small ones
and on a other note mining on MT moon Eutrepe has a really nice distribution of both copper and corundum, i have been mining there for most of the event and its been the best imo
and a tip when mining on plants
if you put max ping focus in scan mode and point it at a marker and it suddenly looks blurry or bright is a lot of markers in one spot and thats is how you know there are ROC minable gems and not bigger rocks for the prospector
90% of minable rocks are clusters that are a bit spread out so they should be clearly a bunch of markers
i didnt know that euterpe was better imma have to head there tonight
am i not supposed to just get like the signature and go off that or is it different with planetside rocks?
huh
like
when scanning and i point at a cluster thing i just get that number and then i know what kinda rock it is
if there is a pattern to it yeah
but what i mean is that you point at it and when in Scan mode V by default you can scroll to focus the scan
on max focus ping with tab while pointing at a marker and it will show more markers for more objects if you are close enough so like 8km ish
do partially completed contracts give partial rep or full rep?
they dont give anything afaik? how do you even partially complete a contract?
You can submit if you've delivered part but the rep I'm not totally sure, I expect it's partial as the credit reward is also partial. You'd have to measure the increment with a ruler tbh
One more thing to mention, if you submit a contract that shows 0 delivered it counts as a fail and can reset you all the way back to the start. (Rep loss is 10x or something) so I'd avoid submitting tbh unless you've delivered a decent percentage and the contract shows that they have been delivered
isnt the game supposed to scan the rock im pointing at in mining mode
What MT moon can you solo mine on with the MOLE?
(No wind moving your ship)
it doesnt even give me a range indicator to the rock im looking at
also nothing happens if i go in scanning mode and lmb
no outline on the rocks either
the rock been stuck like this for a while what do i do
has anyone had anyluck finding ice??
why is every rock not interactable and i can shoot through them as if they arent even there
like legit every single one except the rock in the picture above that just got bugged
gone past like 20 clusters and all of them were unscannable
what do i even do at this point is there a fix or is the game just so ass it cant spawn in a single rock like what even???
FOr ice accept a small salvage mission go there Tons of ice appears lol
Question folks how do you move mineable bags off a elevator?
Bring up the bags along with a 2 scu crate. Reposition the crate to the center of elevator. Drag a bag to the crate as it jumps it on top keep it elevated till out on the pad area.
thanks every time I touch a bag it goes down under the elevator
ugh lost 4 more bags, yeah had the 2scu container in the middle, soon as I tractor the bag it drops under
fill floor of elevator with waste then add ur bags will not sink, youtube it theres a LOAD of tutorials
using waste as it cheap
are you using the ATLS?
nope was using 2h
think u need the ATLS
just think I pissed off the CIG gods today... all my tin spots are now cow spots
or ROC mining spots now
no clue when they will give it back to us
definitely after ai is near full implementation tho
hmm okay, shame, but it is what it is
can i stack rieger mods on the same mining head?
might be time to switch servers. I see these unscannables every once in a while, and sometimes it just takes a minute for them to become scannable. But if multiples in a row are not, I would try switching regions.
Anyone with a mole want a buttload of tin? found a ton can't break it but need someone who can. We can both fill up
Where?
It's a bug, ALWAYS go near rocks in scan mode. Switch to mining mode ONLY WHEN they become blue
Ok any suggest a good prospector loadout for breaking rocks?
Bless you!
nah sorry I'm logging off
LOL all good, could I steal your mole bags? ๐
beautiful
Nice
I also got lucky tonight
I'm happy cuz I didn't have much time to play
But managed to drop 2 big tin orders
Is Tin worth more than copper / coru?
Please how?
Is that with the mole?
yeh
theres yt videos about how to increase mole capacity
BRB must go download to brain all youtube videos!
Thank you.
WTT Corundum for copper 1:1
hmm any new update on how many bags we can get on a Mole today record was 240 yesterday lol
Where did you see this?
are you unable to fracture or disinagrate panels? im in the vulture and i can scrape, but it will not show up as an interactable for fra or dis?
youtube, 240 mole needs 2 ppl
TIL that the catwalks on the Taurus fit 1 SCU boxes
I'm sure that violates all kinds of workplace safety codes
yo thanks people that posted the screenshots of big storage i had no idea
any hint on how to scan? still can't get it to work
v n hold LMB, for me anyway
no matter what I do, it won't work... I don't understand why
like... what am I even doing wrong... I even tried changing that bar on the right
Mind elaborating on what you mean here?
How far away is it? Or do you mean it just takes you to a rab or cluster
get closer
Just a few mins ago elguapoe on youtube posted how its done
just go for a small salvage mission costing 1000
most of the time I was basically touching them... idk, it feels bugged or something
sorry @latent drift that post was for @torpid bloom
oh sorry that answer was for @hoary hinge xd
I missclicked on you
Hold the LMB, you will hear a "scanning" sfx
yeah, but most of the time it doesn't happen, and when it does, nothing happens anyway. It's so random
do you even need to scan asteroids? I know you don't need to scan surface deposits on planets, just pointing the ship at them in mining mode is enough to analyse the contents
Check the screenshot above, they're trying to scan a ship
oh sorry, didn't expand and it looked bit like an asteroid ๐
could it be you need to hold scan longer? I think it needs almost unreasonably long
When buying cargo from an admin console which inventory do I send the cargo to?
Either the station your at (i.e. lorville admin > lorville invo) or directly to what ever ship you have docked and safely stowed (rule of thumb this patch is to manually store the ship watching and waiting till the ground doors fully close and all light go back to normal operation before leaving the hanger)
Hope this helps
That helps a lot, thank you!
While salvaging - once you "melted" the ships surface do you break the hull or disintegrate?
Scrape
Fracture
Disintegrate
(assuming you want RMC and CM for SoD)
Why arnt my C3's appling any power, still says i have 100 mining power?
Check your mfd power bars.
Which section, all mining heads have full power
Power cycle, stow and retake out the ship, change shards
thx
Hi, I'm looking at the Reclaimer on erkul and spviewer as I'm considering a purchase.
erkul does not show the scraper modules at all. spviewer shows two trawlers.
Could anyone tell me what scrapers come on a Reclaimer and if it is two trawlers , can I change one of them for an abrade the same way as I can on the Vulture?
TIA.
Anyone have a good cargo hauling videos to watch trying to get better at it I am also new to the game
Stock is trawlers and they can be changed to abrades
Thank you very much!

Shameless plug: Getting all of the informati...
At the moment I would not purchase it via irl money due to the volume of flaws and defects it has. I don't have much time to go over then but know that it is in need of dire rework
Appreciate the advice. Planning to buy with auec. ๐
Its a great salvo just... maybe get a player to to help ya a lil
Itll go faster
Oh also I recommend no bigger than 4scu when taking out your processed salvage, it will make it easier to get onto the elevator for selling or storage at a station
The elevator door is mere centimeters big for anything bigger so itll be a fight
Yeah, I've looted a few in vhrt bounties. a real pain to be sure ๐
I mean, they so lazy CiG couldnโt give ice asteroids an โice rockโ texture??
Asteroids should have some visual queues at a bare minimum
Wait recl are in vhrt? Are HH there too?
only seen the HH in ert but reclaimers in vhrt for sure.
My cargo wasn't transfered to my ship via autoload, nevber trusting that thing again, it now just in the ether somewhere...
Was it from the refinery?
from the Admin temrinal
I tried to autofill like an idiot
its the same bug as refinery since its also autofill
Are there any working game loops right now
when you want to do that again
go to hangar Store your ship
wait in there for it to be stored
take out and wait again
store and wait again
wait is till the warning holograms around the pad dissapear and light goes back on
I'll try that
try with like 1scu cargo to not lose much
ALl my money is gone, I have 550 SCU of fresh food stuck in Terra Mills because the frieght elevators no longer work... and I just lost the rest on scrap that just disappeared
do simple missions get a lil bit of cash and go again
that is sadly all i can help
but i do feel you
i lost 2.5mil ish worth of refined metals the same way
there's a stack of six 50k haul missions from Baijini straight down to Area18 that can all fit in a Taurus or larger with room to spare, and a couple more that you can pad up with for about 400k per run total
Hey all - any reason why I can't equip the Abrade module to the vulture?
You should be able to, what's going wrong ?
Hit me up in DM mode after the event I can offer 80% share load from a Reclaimer mission if interested.
I took a Prospector to Pyro 4 last night found the Tin, Stilleron, Quant, Taranite. After Refining loaded to a ship and stored in the main inventory. THINGS WORKED AS PREDICTED!!
I'm assuming you guys have had the Refinement Center console bugs, but has anyone found a resolution? I can't get my ice out..
if you mean the spinnin circle then alt+f4 while standing by terminals and joining back in fixes it for me
It's alpha. Just assume a bug will always happen.
Heck I got 50mil of in game ships wiped last update. Oh well
Start from scratch with my 13 yr old Aurora and no creds
that was in fact a intended wipe
when they added Pyro
Thanks, I'll try it
Does cargo stored in warehouse get removed during a patch update?
Whats a good gameplay loop for the reclaimer rn?

bringing it up in your hanger and wishing it got its overhaul soon
jokes aside, havent touched mine since they nerfed salvo contracts
Im pretty new, what did they nerf about them?
they seem to have lowered the sizes you get on the contracts which means your no longer getting what you paid for. if you salvo everything you might break even, to included guns rockets and internals, oh also as far as i have experienced cant use your personal handhelds tractors since the game sees you as both trespassing and not since you bought the contract so you can only use your ships tractor if you have it installed ( so no internals) and if you do decided to salvage with the reclaimer id advise not putting out any bigger than 4scu to make getting them out of your ship not a picture perfect for loading its elevator
salvo profit is only good for the current SoD event
hopfully CIG reverts their changes or what ever bug plauges the salvo contracts after this event is done
id like to salvage something worth the 20 - 50k i spend on a contract
recl is a lost hope till after mid-late AI implementation at the earliest
a bit upset they messed with the salvo mission and still nothing on recl besides the 2 front guns that do nothing of value for the game play loop of the recl
we really need an inbetween of vulture and reclaimer for salvo
its funny how having someone with a 890 ramming a planet is more worth the time and effort than actually intended ways of salvage
you can also have someone do HRT or above and salvage the aftermath
i play solo bout 95% of the time, yea manning a recl is a small nightmare but at least the loop was both fun and profitable
oh speaking of, almost forgot, they nerfed the recls shields too
well it is not ment to be a solo ship but i do understand your point
im mining in a mole alone and everyone seems to say its bad but its fun imo
Yeah i enjoy the solo MOLE, isnt too difficult
i just want this event to be done and salvage mission to revert -_- i dont care bout the vult paint anymore
seems like it

i know buying commodities got nerfed, but i have come to the relization that 20 and 50k contract ship are all too small to even be there and i have seen the same type arrow for both 1k and 5k contracts
sooo stands to reason they nerfed salvage
yeah would seem like it
but you may just join some random VC doing bounties and after they are done go in for scrapping
might end up working well
no need to cooperate with them at all beside using their QT beacons
ehh not worth imo -_- id rather just go contract to contract lazily munchin away instead of awaiting someone to finish up a bounty that may or may not be worth the wait
havent seen any recl or HH in the contracts for so long -_- woulda been great for this event
anda temp fix for the recl woulda been to enlarge the salvage production bay floor of the recl
would been a great temp fix for it, not much work involved either as you arnt redesgining the whole ship just the elevator door of one bay
dont even need to touch all four sides of the door either just top and bottom
they do not like doing anything fix wise especially ships so
it is
but the biggest issue is that damn trespassing alert since you cant use handheld tractors in the contract are you bought

Ty btw! We found ice for the first time in a few days using this!!!
i really hope someone at CIG even glanced at this lil rant
i get they wanna push us into pyro but this is a bit much
*the trespassing thing is only in stanton btw
not that pyro has any laws anyways to stop you from that
.> tempting to @ one of em, saw that a name had "player relations" in it
<.<
naw i dont really feel like bearkin one of the server rules >.> maybe a teams chief tho
... what even is a teams chief role here?? what do they do?
prolly yell at interns
Iโve tried looking in that area and found zero ice.
Ice is multiples of 1660, right? And is there a multiple for Tin?
Yeah 1660 for ice, you can also look up locations where ice is more common. Tins in a bunch of asteroids but I've been mining planets for it where it's more common. Check out regolith's data on the stuff to figure out where you want to go
when you're grabbing refined ore from the refinery, what happens if you have more than the ship can hold?
it should not allow you to do so saying cargo exceeded
however if it lets you it will be voided and most likely the first order that was taken is also gone
and if you had a single order? like you tried to pull 20SCU into something with like 8SCU? It'll just eat the 12SCU yeah?
to avoid that
go into hangar
retrieve the ship and wait looking at it
then hide while also waiting till the yellow ish "warning" signs disappear then go take the order out
it will not let you
you need to have space for THE WHOLE load of the refinery
you can take ten 20scu orders into a 200scu ship tho
so rent a bigger cargo ship
or store at station an make multi trips
yeah i take out like 3 or more orders
put them into the station since CIG is lazy and wont let me do it from refinery
then i cann fill my ship 100% making less trips
can I just leave bugged cargo on the elevator? i.e. cargo that did not fulfill its contract when I delivered but lost its "contractness" and ended up in my personal storage?
or will it remain in my personal storage if I leave it on the elevator?
(also if anyone has any tip about how to avoid this stupid bug, will be very much appreciated)
So trying out my new reclaimer, fracture a HH, desintegrated it, showed I got 208/240 scu, flew to a station, landed, went to eject, and now it's 0/240 scu. Bug or did I miss something?
Shard change bug
As soon as I'm done with a salvage I spit out all my crates
So I ive never ran into that issue before
Thanks for the info
Will do that next time.
Glad to help out a fellow recl salvager
Going to be fun trying to match this in Ice
I finally found Tin on Pyro 4
are the pyro priority cargo mission profitable?
insanely so
cool, about how much net profit would i make with a titan doing the 391k missions?
how are you getting the resources?
The buy price has been inflated and the respawn rate lowered, far better off mining/salvaging/stealing then running the cargo
ive been trying to buy the recycled material and stuff because i dont have a salvage ship atm
Fastest way without a Prospector or Vulture to do these is probably to do VHRTs/ERTs in Stanton and take the copper and corundum from the bounty targets
Lots of 8 and 16SCU boxes.
Alternatively, you could try the Detatrine jobs, I've heard the depot on Terminus is far less violent than the other ones
Awesome, thanks for the help
If you want to buy tin&ice, or RMC&CM, you will spend a lot of time camping trade terminals to get some boxes
doing the RMC/CM by purchasing the commodities will net you about 12k/SCU profit
This helps a bunch, thank a lot!
does anyone sell tin?
I thought I saw some at Orbituary but it was a small amount and sold out.
anybody know if you can use contracted Tin or Ice for the prio mission?
Pretty sure that is a hard no. Those crates are marked contract or some such. You can't sell them anywhere. Same is probably true for the priority missions.
I guess another pointer is that there are still contracts to haul that stuff. I can almost guarantee if you could use the contracted stuff those contracts would be rarer than hens teeth.
pretty sure it becomes stolen cargo when u leave the server. a friend could take it
I did quite a few solo runs between Ruin and Watchers Depot on Terminus in my RAFT which is mercifully fast to load for events like these. Encountered others a couple of times, was shot at once but was already spooling so got out of that.
I have found FEO Depot to either be completely dead or a warzone
That new mining ship is weird
The mining boxes are larger - by a lot - than the Prospector or Mole bags... yet hold the same as the Porspector?
And no interior whatsoever, so you are attached to a station at all times
I guess the ship itself is minscule and the containers are Drake... so bare bones
Well it looks to be just 1 mining bags whereas prospector has 2 i belive.
This also might be an intro to drake mining bags, drake bags may be larger
I can only assume since I don't got the specs in front of me nor have I seem the ship itself in-game
2 larger boxes vs Prospector's 4 small bags - however, they dont compare equaly in size
is it a current bug that when you are loading cargo and atlas kill you while your ship is on the pad all your cargo you loaded into your ship despawn?
Yes keep atls clear of any walls, as far as I've heard
Two down the middle
Ptu side, am I able to grab it or do i need someone from evo?
The new ship is basically a large argo mpuv with a miner head and two large bag slots
Again I only have 2 photos of it a side view and a front side view
With those i can only see the 1 bag
Im guessing they are side by side?
It has one in the middle and one behind that between the engines
Mmm that's why, I cant see behind the engines
So how do you get the one between the engines out? Is it free underneath?
Evenlease showed off a preview video and he takes them off
Yeah do you know the mpuv cargo?
The ship is setup similar to this
I got one, not to ecstatic bout it
Seems cool but as a solo it'd be fast with a max lift
Even the atls is a bit wildly to control
Im waitin till end of year or next year for hotas
Hopefully it'll be better control for ship/vehicle tractors
The new starter mining with vehicles is now cutter atls geo instead of nomad/cutty black and roc
That would be nice, but only salvage I know of will be the rsi starter
Yeaaaa im not to pleased with that but at least we got a starter now
I just wished that they gave us that in-between instead of the fortune
I mean there's nothing wrong with starter options.
I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with it im just upset/depressed with the recl situation
It just needs the elevator door enlarged a bit as a temp fix
I've got hotas, great for flying, but still prefer mouse for tractor control
hotas is great for e.g. tracking a moving target once you're on it, but not so great for quickly moving aim to a very specific point, which is typically what you do with tractor
that said, tractors are much more usable with FPS mouse controls (press Q)
Recl is a little bad atm

Never knew they had a secondary mode
Need to remember that for sure
Well known and documented
oh it's a game changer, once you try it you're not likely to forget about it
Too bad I'm at work rn
Would def try it rn otherwise
can't wait to finish work so I can go back to work in SC ๐
Just watched, damn seems pretty cool wonder how many fit in a polaris or if small enough a galaxy
Are Vaughn missions still viable just got back into the game after a couple months and was wondering what to run with a friend
Mayhaps
6 in polaris ish
Any org out there that represents Player professions as a Union???
My upcoming Org will need Union support and Reps ๐คฃ ๐คฃ ๐คฃ
better question if you unload Golems pods onto cargo ship does refinery see them?
Does it see that with the prospector pods?
dunno
Not in live that I know of, but with mining getting a renewed focus, maybe that is coming
Seems to make sense if it does, judging by the look of the pods. They are rectangular shaped like a 16 SCU crate, so I'm hoping you can remove and transport via cargo ship.
I haven't used the Prospector in a while does bedlogging work on it? Thx.
can mining bags be put in to elevator and refined later or you need to keep it in the mining ship? didnt done any mining for couple of years
I dont know about keeping it for later but it needs to be on the mining ship when going to refine at least
that is how I remember it. so sad
Could be wrong tho, people have been suggesting taking the new Golem mining ship out with a c2 and other mining bags. Might take some time unloading into refinery
Ima take out with the polaris
Ima take out with the carrack
curious... can you just have a "mining" ship and then something like the C2, disconnect the bags with a tractor beam, and just rotate bags on the mining ship, and then when you're done and have like 1000 scus of raw ore take it to a processing center, store the C2, and start a processing job with the thousand SCUs? I mean it would take a week to process, but can it be done?
I don't know about how storing it on another ship and doing it like that would work, but I do know you can just rotate the bags out
you can't empty the bags if those aren't attached to a ship, and currently the only ship to which you can attach bags are mining ships
as far as I know
has this aaron halo changed since 4.0? i tried following the advice on the interwebs but i could not fight a single rock to mine
anywhere to sell the new ROC mineables yet??
I used it yesterday and it works fine.
Yep! Go check out the regolith site. They have a "data" page on rock type compositions. Here it will show you the % chance and the average composition %'s for each rock type. There's another page for checking each planet/RAB/cluster's likelihood of spawning each type of rock!
You can click on the yellow number on the top right of each rock type to see the scanning multiples of each rock type.
any chance we can get the pins updated with the new stuff in pyro? it's nice to have it right there vs going out to a website
Are the cargo elevators at outposts borked? Or did I just get unlucky with the one cargo mission I tried?
Frequently, yes
If it's one of the mining outposts then yeah, 9/10 times they're stuck. I avoid all hauling missions to outposts now
The DC ones are good if you want to do the local missions
I bought an ATLS, and sometimes it will automatically pull the picked up cargo to itself and then place it where aimed with a single click, but sometimes it will pick up the cargo just like a regular tractor and I'll then have to scroll to bring it to me or send it away to place, how is this supposed to work?
nobody knows?
does it work like a normal tractor beam if you pick them off the ship grid?
sometimes
if I drop it where I picked it up and try a couple more times, it will eventually turn back to the regular pull with a single click
It's if it was attached to a ship grid or not. You can pick it up off the grid, and then double click to drop it and grab it again in mid air and it will go back to "atlast beam" mode. It's annoying for unloading a ship, but useful for repositioning cargo on the grid so I can see why they did it.
I wish they would make it left click for Atlas mode and right click for normal tractor beam mode...
or some keybind to toggle between the two
i have done some tests and the cutter Scout is the smallest and best ship for ATLS-Geo transport
This is SC, things work 'sometimes'
๐
is beam spacing control on the Vulture bugged atm? no matter what keeb or stick bindings I use, nothing is happening. never had a problem in the past
sometimes they get a bit out of sync, and it can help to toggle gimballed mode back and forth to resync the point that they meet
Dear,
Someone got a website where it reference all of the signals (emissions) of the commodities minable ?
For example, what is the signal of one rock of Titanium. Etc. .
New atls, but don't suppose they fixed how you call it
Wym. Calling it isn't broken
Do you have a recommended route for the member rank hauling mission?
At Microtech you can stack up to 6 missions that go to the same 3 locations, it takes a bit of sorting through but gets a good chunk of rep/credits
thanks
Isn't it for member rank?
There's a similar setup at Hurston too but it's only 3 at a time I think (dropping to DCs) avoid the ones for the regular outposts
Yes these are specifically member rank
thank you
Not working
What I used to do was get a notepad and list the 3 locations and 6 commodities then how much of each to drop at each location instead of trying to track 6 missions. Avoid taking multiple missions with the same commodity
Depending on what ship you're using you could also cluster the contracts away from each other, just gotta remember which is which
Yeah that works too
To take that further, get a small dyr-erase board
draw your cargo hold in permanent marker
mark out each contract in dry-erase marker
It's inefficient. You have to call atls, move it off pad, call ship
How it works ?
There should be a separate ground pad
Like how do I select for only ice and that's it
people tend to say fix when they mean upgrade. Probably hoping for it to be brought up by the freight elevator (which WOULD be great)
Like how do I get the emission for one rock of Ice, two, etc. .
anyone in here a Hull-C user, i need to know how to put cargo on it from station
Saying 100% on Pyr3 - L1, went there, nothing
Been looking for one hour at the place where we got 40% to get I-Types, none. .
Can someone please explain why I am getting these numbers above it won't let me add any more boxes says it's exceeded capacity
how much money is the prospector making per hour in this patch?
Im getting into some Hull C hauling for some casual gameplay,
Are interplanetary contracts the only ones i can do?
I tried doing some from seraphim to cru l1 but i could drop it off at cru l1 is it only planet stations?
The answer is YES ๐
I can net 300K per hour in the ROC
Its location dependent - but any mining can make a ton. Tin is so freaking valuable and common
Honestly- if you're making less than 2M an hour currently, you're doing it wrong
I will correct myself then
Its ok- it snuck up on people... in fact, it took me a week to actually check things, then I was like "WTF????"
I'm totally embarrassed
Is the tin only in pyro though?
Tin in pyro. If you want to stay in stanton, I'd do corundum from Clio or Copper from CRU-L5
Those are less lucrative, but will still net you large bank
Together- and turned in in Pyro Gateway, will give you even more, but its not a huge difference and I find flying to Pyro Gateway a PITA- so YMMV
Just to compare- I've been flying my Mole tonight for Ice: I have about 4 million or so worth in about 2.5 hours being very casual....
Slow night- but I have crap luck with Ice
tin and ice together are worth up to 57k per SCU. I'll let you do the math ๐
CIG: "Uhh idk"
Anyone had success turning in the Pyro Salvage Contracts lately? Sometimes I can turn in CMs but not RMC. Other times (like tonight) it won't accept any of the boxes I have. It's weird.
I found maybe 8 SCU of ice in about 1-1.5 hours.
Are you looking at the right spot? It drops slightly more in RABs than Clusters, but occurs in both- and check for signatures with multiples of 1660
Iโve also had a very hard time finding ice in those spots tbh lately
So lil 1660 signatures and when they spawn itโs super small asteroids (20/30SCUs) with 40/60% of ice.
The catarpillars tractor beams really need a rework, can literally only unload the compartment closest to the beam and thats it, it cant reach the rest
the games most complicated profession: Mining
Step 1: Retrieve a ship to get a hangar.
Step 2: Store the ship to potentially save it from getting destroyed.
Step 3: Get to hangar and retrieve ship again.
Step 4: Store ship and make sure it's stored (icons for access points gone from hangar and terminal confirm stored state).
Step 5: Get to refinery and get goods.
Conundrum: I can't transfer completed jobs to any ship, options is just greyed out, forced to server swap).
Repeat step 1 to 5.

You should not need to retrieve a ship to get a hangar everytime you relog.
Primary residence or not.
I only start with medium hangar for my Mole at that station and I have a C2 for my refinery destinations, which needs a large hangar.
but all of these steps are only to circumvent current issues and bugs that would make cargo locked to grid and hopefully prevent ships from getting destroyed upon retrieval of ships from lobbies... one day, we will be able to dare to trust the game and it's core mechanics
Hopefully the implementation of "Death of a Spaceships" is miles or heck even light years away from implementation at least long before these current bugs makes sure to let us feel loved
So I was like โwhy Geo?โ, until I realized it should fit in a Cutter like an ATLS, so now a starter ship can go out โROCโ minim without a bigger ship and ROC.
Is the event commodities prices going back down after the event?
most likely yes
They'll probably forget lol
How long do we estimate CIG will tolerate the clipped ore bags?
Til Golem goes on sale
I beg to differ, they still haven't fixed the normal ore bag clipping
My bets are on arrasta release or later
My guess is it's probably on backlog whist the figure out the whole refining process for ships and also bringing the refinery process up to date, I wouldn't be surprised if you had to empty the bags down the freight elevator or something in the future
QOL - updates, lets see em!
I wonder if some aspect of it isn't intended. They added the collapsed pods in this patch, so the Mole for example has 96scu of storage, plus an additional 192scu of collapsed bags, assuming you have a buddy with a cargo ship to haul them. What if the intention is that you can choose between having a total of 288scu worth of bags with cargo ship support, or 192scu without cargo ship support?
I am just not understanding this game. I mined a bunch of crap and had it refined at Green Glade, took 27 hours. Had it loaded into my Taurus, took it to Everus Harbor to sell. Went up to commodities, no cargo to sell and the ship is now empty. Is Everus Harbor a legit place to sell? Any way I can find my cargo again?
You can try storing and retrieving your ship from the in-hangar ASOP terminal, it might bring back the cargo
There's a bug right now where if you don't store your ship before you leave the hangar, when it autostores, it makes any cargo on the grid disappear.
I know the spare bags is intended, but the MOLE store page says you can only have 8 active at once... They probably won't change it until you can inflate the other bags
Has anyone here done the 26m or 13m priority tin/ice missions so I could ask them questions ;^;
Shhhhhhhโฆ.
this may have been answered already ... do we know if the boxes on the golem can be sent to the refinery from station inventory .. or any ore container for that matter in 4.1
I've done the 26mil one
Did you refine them at the ruin station? Or buy and transport. Or refine at a different station
Ah, okay. I thought it was the other way around. I went ahead and rage quit when I lost the cargo, tried to go ahead and head back to Green Glade and was like number 20 in line to leave. I think I am done with refining stuff unless there is a way to directly sell the refined materiel and not having to transport it around.
Just tryna figure out if I messed up by refining like...300+scu of ice at ruin o.e
I refined and turned in at Checkpoint. The mission turn in locations bounce between Orbituary, Ruin and Checkpoint and I just kept accepting them and abandoning until I got Checkpoint.
If you got that much Ice at Ruin, you can just refine your Tin there as well
That's what I was going to be trying. Is it easy to deliver to the same station if you dont have a delivery vehicle AT ALL?
Like...I think I have no ships with actual cargo.
Oh... you are going to need a cargo ship to collect your refined goods.
That's fine, I can always rent one.
You'll have to forgive me. I've made all my money off mining and selling copper ^^;
what ship are you mining with?
Been playing for 3 years and never done hauling.
Eh, depends. I use both but I prefer the mole. It's just rented
But my pros is my pledge
I've actually been looking for a mining group because it's all I do x.x
ok. You could get away with a RAFT rental or similar size since a stock mole refined total will never be above 96 for ice and tin in pyro
Question, when you're delivering to the mission can you bring it incrementally? Like let's say i have a c1 or something. Could I bring it at 48 a time?
Nope. Have to deliver the entire refinery order at once
Yeesh..I can't even store part of it then come back with the rest? It's all or nothing?
If that's the case...how do I even do the mission normally without a c2 or catt
Which...I'm kinda trying to do this mission TO buy
XD
rental ships or just make sure your orders don't exceed the max cargo size you can do
WAIT. I don't mean refinery order. I meant like pull the order. Then transport that ice to ruin, then go back for more orders to fill it
OH for the mission? Don't take the mission till you have your stockpiles of 226 ice and 226 tin ready
because its all at once
I'm saying can I turn in the ice and tin to the priority mission incrementally. I knew about the refining. I'm a miner XD
Ah, gotcha
yeah for any of the SoD missions, stockpile resources at a dropoff, then take the mission
Ok ok good. So as long as all of it is stored in ruin i can take the mission and essentially auto complete? Or do i have to re-call it up the elevator
Sorry for all the questions x.x I haven't had many people I've gotten to answer these ^^;
You will have to run the cargo elevators
But thanks for the help! I just wanted to make sure refining it all at ruin wasn't a bad move.
Gotcha
Yeah, Ruin works perfectly since its one of the possible turn in spots. You can just accept and abandon the mission over and over until Ruin pops up
I've heard it depends on where you are? Is it true if I'm standing AT ruin it may not move to that one? But the other two
Na. It just seems that way. I sat at my hangar in checkmate for like 30m trying to get it to pop up at checkmate and it finally did
Well thank you a million ^^
Knowing my ice and tin will be deliverable at the very station I'm refining take a large portion of the fear away from this mission. I was so scared to haul. Especially if I was gonna have to take like....7-9 trips
You can turn it in incrementally, but you don't want to risk taking the contract too early in case your game crashes or bugs out and then you have to leave the server. Taking the contract only when you have enough stock and when you're ready to haul or bring it up then down in the elevator eliminates most risks of things going wrong.
But for example, I was running the Copper and Corundum contracts (13M) in Stanton with a Caterpillar. I took the contract and made two trips to complete it, meaning, I was able to partially deliver.
Sweetness. You've been extremely helpful ^^ danke my friend
Another thing to note is, when you send down your cargo, it may not look correct in the confirmation screen but once you deliver it you'll see your contract status in the top-right corner and that will be accurate. Also, if you deliver more than the amount needed (for example, your last haul puts you at 228 Ice when you only need to deliver 226) the difference will be saved in your warehouse, which according to my example you'll see an extra 2 SCU.
Ok dope. So i don't have to seperate exactly
No, you should be good.
Does the store ship, wait till the lights come back on help with or fix the auto loading issues when trading commodities?
Contracted cargo on the otherhand, that you'll obviously have to deliver exactly what they give you (in terms of total SCU)
From my experience, I do the following:
- Store ship and wait until the serial number disappears (or when the lights come on)
- Go to Commodities ASOP, select the ship (or sometimes I select my gamertag in the drop-down) then continue to confirming auto-load
- I go to the elevators and go down to my hangar which should still be listed .I do NOT call up my ship from the ASOP terminal unless I'm in my hangar, if it's possible. That's how your ship can risk getting destroyed.
Thanks. I'm getting sick of manually loading my C2. Sometimes I can fill it easily with 16's and other times I just can't get one or several boxes to fit. I'll start with partial loads until I get confident that it works (fairly) consistently.
Ah, sorry, you meant auto-loading for cargo hauling and not commodities like mining?
I noticed with the C2 when filling it, the sides where the ships cargo ceiling curves it's very difficult to fit larger crates.
What mining head and modules for ice mining in a prospector?
what rank do you have to be with Covalex to get the Hull C missions?
26mil prio mission requires 228 scu of each not 226
@vivid obsidian have u refined before? if not be careful of the cargo stuck to cargo grid bug. if u dont know about it i can clue u in and tell u how i personally avoid it
Either way, same concept. You send down more, you don't lose it. But thanks for the correction.
yea i wasnt gonna say anything but u mentioned it a few times so i thought u might wanna be accurate
It's good to correct me, especially if I'm answering someone who's (assumably) new and misinformation may throw them off.
No you assumed correct. I was talking commodities. Having lost commodities to autoload I've been reticent to try it again. Time to bite the bullet.
I have. It's all I do in game ^^; only way i know how to make somewhat efficient income x.x
What is the auto-load bug anyway? Is it when you're retrieving your ship something happens? I have yet to experience the bug so I'm not sure if it's the routine I have going on or just luck.
Auto loading the refinery order can make it invisible. It won't recognize it's there if you try to deliver/sell
It just takes your money and doesn't deliver any cargo.
At least that's what I encountered
the store and retrieve fix for invisible cargo never worked for me with that autoload issue.
Oh, that sounds nice lol
Refining issue seems simple. Just have the mining ship print boxes of raw material like salvagers. Then you store them or sell them or refinery them
I use autoload a lot and the biggest problems I've encountered are when something crazy happens in the hangar, like when you land but then teleport 25km away still in your ship, or the hangar interior disappears and you're floating inside the model of the station.
That last one happened to me earlier and I'm hoping that if I give it enough time then Caterpillar will revert to a stored state, or I'm down 1.4m!
Autoload itself never given me issues, and anytime something crazy happens and the station won't buy the cargo I find that another station will.
Worst case scenario is that the station stops buying from you entirely until the next patch. No idea why!
Searching for two hours Ice never found one rock. Done RAB-COOK, RAB-XENo etc. . Any ideas?
Wonder when the Starlancer will be available again
Would also love to know.
Dam, you are in the same shir as me. . xD
Gonna DM you and see if we can help each other out.
My refinery order won't complete to the ship. Any workarounds? It's needed for the mission I shared.
The top sites I have for Ice are Terminus, caj 445, RABs at Sierra, Cook, and Ultra. If none seem to show up server hop.
Is there a bit of a timer until they pop-up again?
i mined 290 ice yesterday lemme check where exactly
RAB-BRAVO to the right of and on the same orbit as Bloom
did all my ice mining there
Thank you! I'll check it out soon. I need to make some $$ before the end of the event.
then u better get out there today cause refining is a pain in the ass especially for ice
A pain as-in time it takes to refine?
just had a full buffer of CMAT vanish between leaving Yela rings and getting to the station, anyone else had this recently?
yes, it's related to the QT fuel bug, because you cross DGS between Yela and Crusader in space and the ship state doesn't always save between servers
As a workaround I've been flying somewhere safe from the ring then printing my boxes, I know it wastes the buffer but it's better than losing a buffer of Salvage, the first one I lost was like 80scu RMC as well so I was proper gutted
๐ฆ Just got to Ruin Station with 300scu of CMs and crashed in the hangar
looks like I'm not getting the crash recovery now - wonder where I spawn and if my ship is still there
weird it shows my ship stored at Orison so maybe it still has the cargo onboard
(starlancer)
Well it sees the two loose boxes on the ship but not the full grid, guess I will go and see if it's there the shard must've died and ship was recovered by 30k protection
Cargo still on ship but terminal can't see it - will see if I can unload it, I think it might be stuck to the grid now though so might have to call the last few hours of work a write off LOL
is this that bug where the cargo is locked to the grid?
I haven't had this issue but try a Maxlift or Atls. Maybe unload from the opposite end?? Good luck.
is it worth trying to fly the ship somewhere else see if the TDD will take it or lost cause?
(TDD at Orison dosen't see it)
the multitool will only lift up to 8 SCU, according to starcitizen.tools
It does lift 16s
The cargo is stuck to the grid I also found the IC and confirmed 30k protection when it auto stores your ship locks the grid
I got in the game and my avatar at Orbituary seems to have a perma lockup on transferring refined goods to the ship. This is on 2 different PC's and three new shards/logins.
https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-161528 I have found a LOT of the refinery terminals have this problem. Got it with my 2nd account also. Combined with my event salvage materials locking up there's not much chance I can finish the Supply event. I have only 3 small missions registered and been playing this event almost every day since it started. El Bummero...
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
Just party with people doing the event, itโs easy to complete if you arenโt mining and refining the mats yourself, detatrine is easy to get in a group and many people have the other mats stocked up and donโt mind helping others
I know that is an option but like the RMC and CM loops those were busted for me to. At first I could complete the RMC salvage types but later these locked up also.
F
Do I have to wait for the auto-unload timer to run out before I buy my next load of cargo using autoload?
has anyone tried the ATLS geo in the PTU? I am hoping the ATLS is no longer a Murder Hobo.
Anyone got any hot tips for Hull C hauling/trading?
Yup
Any uk orgs i can join
so i was directed to post my question here. i'm new and have about 10hr in the game, i'm trying to save 2.3M, what's the best way to accomplish this?
Do what you like, mission wise, or job. It'll come
If you like salvage there's always risky salvo that pays you for clean up. There is a time limit, most if not all 8k payouts you got 1h till cops show up everything else pretty much 30min unless it tells you
This timer starts when your in the AO of the contract
Otherwise I hear bounty work pays well the higher risk your contract is
I wouldn't recommend mining rn till after the update (hopefully) too many things bugged
Not fast but cargo is there, tho it seems a hit or miss with it's bugs
Hope this helped
Oh rn for normal salvage I wouldn't recommend, the pay out ain't worth it anymore imo CIG downgraded the size of the contracts
Im hoping its just for the current SOD event goin on rn but won't know till after the next update
GL and happy spacefaring
If it's industrial gameplay you enjoy you've come to the right place, I would recommend renting a Hull A and doing cargo missions, you can stack several together to improve the pay out. You can also rent a prospector and go mining for copper/conundrum and turn it in for the supply or die missions. If you like other types of gameplay of course there's other things you can do like the fight for pyro missions in Pyro or bounty hunting/bunkers
whats the ideal station for salvagers?
if your doin risky, Grim Hex, Yela.
for all others? anywhere is fine
I reworked and updated my mining laser power calculator today so that it has all of the data for all the lasers and modules (that effect power and resistance), and drop down menus to select them. This makes it really easy to compare loadouts for your Prospector or Mole. I think I got all the bugs worked out of it, but let me know if you run into any issues with it.
For those unfamiliar, this is the spreadsheet used to generate charts like this, which have been shared here in the past. But now easily customized for different loadouts.
last night the station model was missing most of it, and had little to no collision so I literally flew out the other side recalled for a hanger and this time it worked as expected...def a bit of a scare as I was afraid I couldnt go or do anything to get out at first or land.
Does anyone here run solo mole? Is it worth it?
I've got the money to get one, wondering if I should or just go with a prospector.
I asked in game and like 3 people said it's fine, just wanted more opinions lol
Hull C question - does the Hull C dock at all the stations in Pyro, or just the main ones?
Really more of a docking port question I guess.
i belive its just the main ones
its the ones with a Cargo Center, so the main ones for now
theres your better answer @tall karma ^^^^
yep its worth it, up to 192 SCU per run
They all have cargo centers.
Gaslight, starlight, blah blah - cargo centers.
Megumi.
no, only the main stations have cargo centers
It would be the ones with Docking Port 01/02 in the Elevators.
for now
This isn't correct. I live on Gaslight 90% of the time, and go to cargo center to get my armor and max lifts.
so most of the smaller stations have a refinery, gallery and hangers
Are you talking in Stanton?
Cause the question was Pyro..
ok
I wanna dock at some stations in pyro, and I am pretty sure the answer I was given is correct. Only the main stations are likely to have docking ports.
I mean annoyance wise, as far as seat switching and stuff
yep, the cargo center is required to load and unload freight externally, and those will have the docking ports
not sure which ones in pyro
ive head its been worth it
All stations in Pyro have a cargo center is what I'm saying, but not all of them have Docking ports.
well yeah theres switching around, you will want to crew up when you can, you can break 3 mil plus quant rocks like that with a single mole
OIC patch, from what I have seen maybe the docking ports were blown off?
there was a good set up for it leeme scroll for it @plush sandal
Helix 2, Rieger C3 x 3, Helix 2 Focus 3 X 1, Rieger C3 x 2, Hofstead 2 Focus 3 x 2
Thanks guys, gonna go dump my hard earned credits now lol

found it
if you scroll round there a bit you can find more load outs (i think) but there was a whole convo bout it around that time
Also looks like all the pyro stations have docking ports, you can "Docking" listed when you search them in F2, and just went to a smaller one and it had a port.
In older versions of SC repping up salvaging would give you more illicit cargo in the missions, that's been removed right? is there any reason to do legit salvage missions over the illegal missions around yela?
The main difference is whether it has a means to unload the cargo, I guess that's the big different.
yes actually risky salvo actually pays you under certain contracts i belive the rates were 8k and 24k
8k giving you an hour till the Feds show up
24k gives you 30min i belive
the other risky that you pay for is a gamble
there might be some cargo to loot or it might just be bust
but the SoD event has both the buying terminals and salvo nerfed so the only good thing for salvage, clean or not, is the ones that pay you imho
i havent played with salvage in a bit before 4.0.1 sooo i cant answer about the cargo types rn, buut i do know that it was nerfed a good bit
not horrendously though, with it being risky it makes it, .. made it an actual gamble
i suggest (if you dont have a 890 or cap ship find a friend) finding a friend to help you much you own ships
1 front, 2 left, 3 right
Is anyone else getting blacked out commodity terminals on multiple shards?
Iโm trying to sell at a Pyro outpost and can click F but it just focuses me on a blank blacked out screen.
ive had a similar issue onle once but switch regions worked for me otherwise i waited till the next day
Ok thanks
Well tonight the refinery order loaded to the ship okay and my salvage missions worked so was able to snag the Display award!! Took 22 days of hell. Onward and upward!!
\o/
@vestal ravine what u mining?
I have a pretty big amount of the Ice along with the other 3 minerals for the Supply or Die event. I also have CM and RMC but since all the side problems with the game and running 2 characters jacks up the time to get the missions completed.
I had a better morning than yesterday lol (lost all my salvage to a 30k yesterday)
Today instead of unloading and reloading my CMs into another ship I just ran the Reclaimer to Pyro, unloaded 240scu of CMs into Ruin Station and then took my Vulture out and scraped panels at the terminus ring.
Got enough in a short Vulture session to turn in 3x small salvage missions so just under 1.2m for my couple of hours today
Loads of CMs left so I'll be good for a while
17 missions at 391k will net me around 6.6 mil. Nice
Any mining guilds still rollin?
Whats it mean in a Hull C when you go to sell and it says something like "Size Mismatch Error" and instructs you to load the cargo into a freight elevator?
Does the location not accept the commodity in that size? Also trust you're at a location that the Hull C can trade?
Frontier Consolidated has a lot of mining activities and a discord channel.
holy shit, I just managed to fly my Vulture all the way from the halo to Seraphim station with half my thrusters blown off in an accident, and managed to land in a hangar and get my ship repaired
while also managing to get stuck in Crusader's gravity well and climb out of it
it's fun figuring out what maneuvers you still have available and what you should definitely not do
They were reduced a while ago because it's so easy to fill a Reclaimer in a few minutes
which makes no sense economically considering the demand for them for supply contracts
yeah but it just makes the reclaimer so redundant now
They didn't need to adjust the prices for supply or die for salvage materials
They were always intented to be salvaged and not traded
Not really it was 68k per 32scu when I was at Orison so still a good return for a full load
And for supply and die I took a full load to Ruin Station and salvaging in my Vulture using the CMs from my stash I can make 2mil/hr with the supply or die contract at least
yeah but in comparison rn i can mine enough material to get me 1 mil in about 20 mins
Do that then whilst you can
It's only due to the inflated prices I'm guessing and that was only intended to stop the plebs standing at the terminals lol
yeah i really dont think they actually thought about how most players play this game
players will always find the quickest way to make cash
like yeah mining or salvaging the stuff to then hand in for cash is rewarding but most people dont have that amount of time or cba spending that amount of time
I remember seeing fully geared players walking around picking up little green boxes because that was the prime paying loop lol
they missed such a great opportunity to test a dynamic economy here. And in a way this was a preview of what a dynamic economy could look like, but they did it manually with a hotfix after like two days. But imagine if the supply had gone down and the price had gone up dynamically (and quickly) when people started buying massive amounts of a couple of things.
I just tried to do two cargo hauling contracts, very simple, for a modest 140k total. I spent two hours and ended up with nothing to show for it. I canโt blame anyone for taking the path of least resistance when the intended paths are dead ends
Yesterday I tried the same loop above and lost everything due to a server crash so I feel your pain
I dunno mate those guys queuing up to stare at a screen on a screen didn't make it look easy
Never seen anything quite so painful honestly
I just don't think they anticipated what happened but for sure this kind of event would be perfect for a dynamic economy
please send help
"Vehicle must remain stationary"
yeah I really wonder if it was an oversight, or an intentional thing. Or if the guy who was supposed to change the price / supply forgot to commit his code before he went home for the day ๐
Once I've lined up I usually cut the engines with 'i'
Are we betting that with the Golem coming into 4.1, that mining will be touched up on? Like pods in cargo, refinery orders straight to warehouse etc?
didn't help at all
It can be bugged and transfer never starts, sadly no workaround for that. Hull C loop works about 15% of the time in my experience to varying degrees
The Golum yes I expect but other refactoring not likely at this stage, maybe once they implement the refining ships into the game
hopefully the golem comes with the freight elevator fix for the ore bags
if not for the fact you can exploit the phisical ship moding system to add the bags there would not be a problem with the bags
idk its not that big of a advantage
i hope they do look into it and add some ability to upgrade them somehow
and i would love to see a ability to put filled bags in some sort of a carrier and ship them to refineries without the miner going there
like swapping them mid mining to keep mining while a different ship moves ore
Swapping bags out while mining is intended, and partly what the Expanse is for. It's just not properly implemented yet, they're getting closer though with the collapsed bags that are now on the Mole. The other side of the coin is that refineries still need to be updated so you can send stuff direct to warehouse and refine stuff from bags. That also means the bags on freight elevators issue needs fixing.
The whole refining from bags not equipped on a ship issue will need some very different UI though. One where you can select one or more bags to refine as one job. (Having them on a ship made that simpler to do, you'd just select the ship and refine all the bags attached to it.)
There's also the bigger mining change they've talked about, that will affect where you can find stuff and how. But that might not be coming anytime soon, since that I guess was meant to go along with base building.
the bags might just add to a total of materials like in the current UI
you dont see individual bags just a sum total of ore
All of these mining changes (adding a bunch of new mineables for vehicles for example) are, I suspect, required BEFORE they implement crafting and base building. The fact that they are doing a rework on hand and vehicle mining, plus adding two new mining vehicles in 4.1, suggests to me that there is a focus back on mining and we may well see more changes to ship mining in 4.1.x
All in preparation for adding crafting
Just a guess though
I don't mean those specific changes in 4.1. I mean the major rework that was mentioned in one of the videos, where instead of mining mixed rocks like now, you'd go out and hunt specific ores, and they would be in specific areas of the planets that would not be eligible for base building.
The 4.1 changes are needed for the other 4.1 content. (Wikelo's missions.)
right, and that's what I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised if we see in 4.1.x. 4.0.2 and 4.1 both show a renewed focus on mining, if they keep the momentum on that I could see the wider mining rework happening soon-ish.
i hope the patch after addresses salvage
think about it, they run an event or two that gets a whole bunch of people interested in mining, and then they have a bunch of people ready to test a new mining system when it drops.
but maybe I'm being too logical and they will just bounce around from feature to feature with no momentum.
The 4.0.2 event I think was made to test out resource gathering missions.
Because they are doing the mission rework and just got a new mission scripting system.
a lot of what they talked about in the more stable universe talk was about assigning people to tasks and letting them cook until it's done, rather than bouncing around.
Supply or Die is a very minor tweak on the last mission of Save Stanton. It's improved (the elevators giving change, for example), but it's nothing fundamentally new other than it happing in a server meshed environment
to be clear though, I have no idea what's coming. Merely speculating based on what we have right now and what we know is coming in 4.1. But also don't forget that 4.1 brings a new mining ship, not just a rework of hand and vehicle mining.
what changes exactly
The changes mostly relate to ground vehicle mining and the laser platforms. There should be info in the PTU patch notes but we await full details
no no the future changes for ship mining
Oh I've not heard anything about that.
It was talked about in a video where they were talking about how the land claims would work for base building
They mentioned that areas of the planet would be set aside for things like mining, and that how you look for stuff to mine would change. If you wanted iron, you'd go and just mine iron. And different ores would be in different spots.
It is in this video: https://youtu.be/JR8CtbQXLw8?si=rLqM63D77-ippE2n

Roberts Space Industries is a spacecraft manu...
Mining will be changing because they'll be adding "quality" to ores and such for crafting purposes
It'll apparently mean no more mixed ore rocks
oh really
that sounds like a 1.0 thing
everything is a 1.0 thing until it's not. Everything has to come before 1.0 so that it can be tested before 1.0 releases.
i think they should keep the mixed ore rocks
i think so too, more realistic hahah
mm hmm
just a matter of how far before 1.0 i guess
It was part of base building/crafting, which people thought might be coming this year, before the shift to Content/QoL happened.
the few times i mined i actually like that
in theory we will play "1.0" for many months before 1.0 actually releases while the fix bugs
i have mined quite a lot, the only tedious thing i find is the scanning for rocks and looking for certain signatures
Eventually there should be 1.0 Alpha, then Beta, then release.
hoping there would be a new UI or change to improve
But 1.0 Alpha I think is still years away
i give it 7 more years
yeah years, so im mostly focused on content or changes that can come within a year hahahha
specifically to mining
Also mentioned in the video I linked above, was that salvage may change a bit with that too
all i want rn from salvage is my stanton areas no longer blocking my handhelds from working (trespass mechanic is incorrectly activating) and the reclaimers salvage processing elevator door height clearance increased by like 3-7in
everything else would be a bonus
i'd accept a new large salvage ship in place of reclaimer change
Reclaimer needs a major rework. No clue when it'll get one. But the change talked about in that video is in what you'd get while salvaging. The idea is that when you salvage a ship, you would get some of the components that would be used (in the crafting system) to make that ship.
my best guess for recl rework is after the AI blades are like 50% done/implemented/fixed
So, instead of just selling RMC/CM, you'd get materials you could use towards making your own ships. If you have the facilities.
Don't get excited. Working elevators aren't planned till 1.1
Great way to lift our sprits
are you talking bout the cargo elevators at the stations?
I'm new...anyway to set waypoints or drop a pin to mark a location you'd like to return to in SC. Seems like a basic function.
no
die on that spot or get a friend to be a marker sadly are the only options
Thank you for the response...seems like a simple and useful feature...wonder why it is not in the game.
can i load Multiple refining orders at once to my Hauling ship ? or only 1 need to unload to hanger and then claim the next refinign order i did it once 3 orders had enough room but the whole ship stayed empty ๐ฆ
many reasons on why its bad
but while it sounds cool it also defeats some game mechanics
but i do kinda agree some way of having markers would be nice
store and retrive again WHILE you are in the hangar looking as it goes
it might appear
im trying to put my refined ore into a taurus but when i select that as the storage option it puts all my orders on the taurus and it just doesnt fit
what do i do?
how can i choose for only 1 or 2 of the orders to go into it
or did i just waste all my time mining and renting for nothing
someone her who would refuel me in stanton on a eu server ? ran aut of quantum due to bug...
Elevators in general
It should only do them one at a time, whichever you click on
Because we need sand worms... ๐
Does volatile cargo stop decaying once your ship is stored or does it keep ticking till I sell or refine it?
Also do I lose parts of it with decay or is it literally just a count down to a boom
boom i belive
never really had in issue with the reclaimers main elevator aside from the doors not being large enough
Does anyone have this issue (solo mining in Mole) where you place a mining module on rock, I am using the Sabir, and then you're unable to climb back up the Mole's ladder? Happens every time, even happened to a friend.
Example:
https://youtu.be/4BB5tmB_nPY
Ah, I did exactly that yesterday and could not climb a ladder. Interesting
Yeah, it's bizarre. If I remove the Sabir, can go right back up that ladder no problem.
The one in that video I could not remove but, it did remove me ๐
what m ining lasers should i get for a mole?
I've been mining with a friend and and I suck at it but he has good luck. We are using this setup:
Impact II = Turret #1 is Middle
Helix II = Turret #2 is left (port) (big rocks)
Hofstede S2 = Turret #3 is the right (starboard)
Rieger-C3, Surge, Stampede for Passive and Active models. And the occasional **Sabir **placed on rock, although... that makes it impossible, for me, to get up my ladder ๐คทโโ๏ธ
You can use this site for all your mining needs.
https://regolith.rocks/
Depends how big of rocks you are trying to break
thx this stuff is so complicated and annoying that everything isnt sold in one place but i think im figuring it out
Yeah, mining is rather complex. I get it. Once I get the rest of the ice I need for missions, my Mole is heading to retirement. Not my cup of tea ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Every time I put a Vehicle in my ship and store it, it gets Destroyed has that been fixed in 4.1 and also every time I leave my hanger while I have my ship still on the hanger pad it gets auto stored has that stopped also?
has it ever happened to anyone else to fill up the vulture (hold full + 13 SCU in depot), then when you arrive back in port your depot is suddenly empty?
(hold thankfully still full)
I even ran down to the hold to double-check that I'm indeed full when I filled up the depot
no?
Pull and holster a gun
Thanks. I tried that, and tractor gun, and med pen, and drink... still, could not get up ladder ๐ข
Da fuk the sabir module and a ladder in my ship have to do with each other, no idea. But, I can see the bug of the "game" thinking something is still in my hands.
I will try again, IF I go mining again ๐ o7o7
its a change shard issue, basically just dont have anything in the buffer
if you can afford it id suggest the polaris + fortune combo that way you can travel anywhere you really want , have a great amount of cargo space and not worry bout a shard glitch clearing your buffer
i would have suggested the reclaimer but >.> it needs its rework first before i can actually recommend it again
Did they get rid of Delivery missions with the handheld boxes?
For now. Missions are getting a rework.
Courier missions, in Pyro, will be available in 4.1 I think. Not sure about Stanton side.
What refinery method is best?
Ferron exchange for speed (delivering same day) dinyx for maximum profitability, just expect a LOT more wait time this way. An entirely full mole with no inert took me more than 56 hours iirc. Would have to double check times on my next ice run.
how would I change shard in the middle of a game? I didn't log out or anything
also how do I "don't have anything in the buffer", I literaly just finished scavenging and flew straight into port to unload
this is a bug similar to the QT fuel issue where ship state does not persist between server changes within the shard, just flying from a moon to planet you can switch servers twice
yeah I'm not paying $1000 of real money just so I can occasionally not lose 130k of monopoly money due to a bug
also I don't think the QT thing is a shard issue, it does happen even without moving at all โ as soon as I fuel up I can already see the discrepancy between the various gauges even without moving anywhere
it's a known bug and there is a highly contributed IC on the issue. What you see is a UI bug, once entering QT you will see the tank show full again, however it can still revert to previous values when you traverse between servers on the shard.
Storing and retrieving your ship after refueling is a fairly safe workaround.
lol 98scu on the RAFT, 96 on grid, 2scu stashed in the airlock ๐
Love a good airlock hack!
Honestly I think they should refactor the airlock into an ATLS storage module
Yeah or a dedicated rack elsewhere. 100% agree
The Raft should be modular tbh
Cargo rack module
Refuelling module
Another option could be to have the ATLS pack into an 8scu box shape for stowage. This could also provide stowage and retrieval via a freight elevator
Ship Boxes
is prospector mining reasonably profitable? how does it compare profit-wise with e.g. panel salvaging with a vulture?
It's exceptionally profitable in the current patch because CIG massively boosted the value of easily minable commodities for the event. Once this event end salvage will probably be easier / bigger profit
Ice, Tin, Copper and Conundrum were mundane before the event and usually ignored, but you can easily make millions off these now, and you can also get like 90scu of storage on a prospector using the argo bag bug.
Also 192 scu for the mole. I think this event was a test of mining contracts also, would be nice to see those added
Only if they revert their changes to the salvage missions
Nah, you can just salvage panels. Also reclaimer CM farming with the boosted CM sales prices is very profitable, incredibly easy, and makes use of the unverified contracts
From what I understand the ATLS Geo is not a murder hobo but the base ATLS still has that feature in the PTU. I hope 1.1 stays in PTU until that is addressed
Im not salvaging the panels -_- , I salvage cause I enjoyed munching the different types of ships
With the downgrade in sizes per contract I don't get the other ships anymore
It was fun munchin the tarus, hammerhead, reclaimer etc
I don't even see the Hercules anymore either
You can still get those with the unverified missions in Stanton and also on the salvage groups in pyro
I've been looking for em, after one of the SoD patches, I stopped seeing them
You have to rank up to get them to show up
Also various bunker and ehrt vhrt contracts, see a mix of c2,m2 and just about everything else
Do a 1k, 5k, 20k verified salvage mission and then you'll get the bigger unverified. Usually connie, starfarer or hammerhead
Then there's also the new mission in pyro with a group of ships, but can be taken by anyone so PvP can happen
Iโve noticed if your lucky you can clean up one of those sights with a reclaimer
Im already at 50k patchkid
Unless there is new higher tiers im not seeing them
Are you in crusader near one of the planets (preferably Yela)? Not sure they show up elsewhere
unless cig changed something, salvo missions can (should to my experience) be obtained anywhere in its respective system, besides that, ive been doing paid risky salvo as the contracts ship size has been downgraded all but forcing me to stay near grim hex for anything worthwhile. and the ones in pyro (as far as ive received) are just meager s1 or s2 ships.
nothing against you patch, im just peeved that CIG nerfed salvo like this for SoD instead of lowering the demand or payout at the terminals, this would have pushed people to do the SoD missions more instead of all but kill the trade in my eyes
but this was probably planned for the next patch for mining as they want people to test that out more next
also those panels should also be scrape-able, it makes little sense to only scrap it for rmc and not eat it for both
It's been demonstrated multiple times that CIG is not skilled at balance changes.
well CIG domenstrated repetedly that they dont see how players behave and that they would pick easiest was to get rich fast escaped their minds
Can someone explain to me how I'm supposed to get the boxes out of the reclaimer seems a bit ridiculous I can't even get them through this back Hatch is there a way to destroy that so there's just a drop hole
simple unhelpfull explaination: Reclaimer wasnt designed for current salvage and cargo elevators
The way I do it is 16scu boxes two at a time in the cargo lift, you have to pull them through sideways due to the door frame having notches
Thanks
It's a pain but it's faster than printing lots of small boxes. If just selling you can use the auto unload.
You can actually get 4-5 16scu boxes in the elevator. It will stack 2 on top
I have had success doing an auto-unload sale of contents as long as everything is on grid and the same type (RMC vs CM). Don't mix and match to auto-unload
@tall karma I didn't think about going 2 high, nice I'll try that next time.
hoping to get back into salvo for 4.1 with the reclaimer remote turret at least... although the pip issue at times does bother me. First time I use the ship seems fine, but after that it always seems borked
Do you know what's the signal for tin? An find it online
as for the number? I don't think so since it all depends on the type of asteroid and rock now. I usually just scan for the name and go by that
just gotta be in Pyro for Tin
I'm in pyro
I thought it goes by number cuz 1660 always work for ice and everyone suggests thay
I'm new zo idk much about radars and all but in asteroid it's working I think
What does the name tell you?
well we only only certain percentages of rocks and asteroids spawn certain materials, so if you know lets say an Asteroid-M spawns copper, and an Asteroid-Q doesn't then you know you can avoid those and go for the others
although I just check everything I find and if I see what I want, then I mine
Ohhh I understand You know something about tin?
is what I would say, yeah regolith.rocks. I haven't done any tin hunting so far, mostly the copper and coruntum since been staying in Stanton this patch
Does it say that too? Dang this site is really good
Thanks for the info yall๐๐๐
only active mining site in the verse so far now I think?
or at least the most updated
I know nothing else of that quality
only thing about the site I don't like is the mining calculator for your ship lasers, as they still say Reiger is a power loss instead of an increase
when scraping, does it matter where on the distance gauge the thing I'm scraping is? do I just need to get it anywhere in the yellow, or should I aim for the middle of the gauge, or as close as possible?
isnt power to mass just
power/0.2 ?
easiest way? no bigger than size 4scu boxes, im going to assume you already have 16scu boxes made however and the best one can say is through the main elevator, you uhh just need to be just about picture perfect to getthe 16scu onto the elevator
i have heard tho that having them lose (not attached to the grid) and blowing the ship up works though that is a method i will not try myself
With the Reclaimer I get pretty close just experiment with your distances.
Wdym ? Rieger specifically or all Riegers (-C2, -C3) ?
Nvm, I see what you mean
You stare at the recl claw long enough you can gage roughly how far it can extend when your in the pilots seat when looking in 3rd person from the side
Weird, it didn't do that a few days ago.
But it's wrong anyway, as it adds percentages instead of multiplying them.
So your head + Rieger C3 + Rieger C3 shows 150% total when it should be 156%.
Because it's not 100+50% but 100+25%=125+25%=156.
2xRieger-C3 + Surge should be 234% and not 200%
It does this very well for resistance for example, so I don't quite get why it's wrong with power, but anyway, still the best mining tool there is, and it's only a minor inconvenience anyway
Looking for 2-3 people to help with reclaimer salvaging
I know hes working some bug fixes on the calculator. Next release we'll see if this is working- if not, I'll file a report
Try #looking-for-session instead. Here is a discussion channel ๐
Does anyone know how to compile cargo boxes? I remember something about being able to buy different size boxes at the cargo thing on old updates so you could consolidate small boxes into bigger ones. Is there any way to do something like that still? Asking because if not this 26m tin/ice priority gonna suck otherwise x.x
Cargo center at space stations, store all is what your looking for
Hm...allright. i went to a cargo center yesterday and couldn't find anything besides the self storage boxes.
Follow those instructions and you should be set
Gotcha!
Its a smidge tedious but it does work
Are there still 24 and 32 scu boxes?
second time in a row my vulture loses contents of its depot on the way back to port ๐
I think I'll just stop filling the depot before I head back, just fill the hold and return with that
waste less time
No only up to 8scu as far as I have found
Till they fix the shard change issue, yea that's your best bet
yeah, mostly just do the head math with the Redmonster sheets for the parts, although been coming up with ideas for the Golem to use, as still got the power of a helix but that Resistance addition is gonna hurt it, and only gadgets and surges really handle resistance now
Eh, no need for exact math, as you just go with whatever bigger number you get anyway, but that'd be a nice thing to get correct anyway. This site is so close to perfection
agreed there
been getting back into mining now since finding it and the whole SoD, along with the mining changes coming up
what should i be using for a 57k 224 SCU rock with 24%resistance?
2 people?
bc with a Helix 2, surge, rieger c3, stampede with a sabir, i cant break
A nuke
solo
a mole with all lasers loaded with that mass.
usually if solo you looking for around 30k at least is the limit, sometimes 35k
but once you get in a mole and find those big rocks, really need more people on it
why I still recommend using the prospector if solo for now, as well as mole liking to move around if you got wind..
i like the mole for the exploited capacity
i havnt stacked riegers on the lasers yet, does this work?
like 2 riegers and a surge?
yeah but it won't be more powerful than using rieger with surge and stampede
igy
if you can't get the green to show
if anyone here likes to salvage at bunkers with other ships left over.. how do you guys usually deal with the shields up issue? Everytime I tried turning them off the turrets think I am stealing the ship and just blow it up
was debating on the shooting, but figured they would dislike that even more xD
weird that the turrest will just blow up the ship
i mean your gettin killed eithr way so why not try it
I mean I usually survive the boom xD as I notice and race off the ship
Have they fixed the glitched capacity? Because I used every trick I've seen on each video and none seem to work...don't get me wrong. I don't MIND sticking with the 96 stock capacity. Just wanna see if I can bust out a dorky stupid large run or a few before 4.1
