So only 84 SCU of tin/ice, or 196 Cu/Corundum
Cu/Cor for me, wasn't gonna mess with Pyro shenanigans when there was a time limit involved, I'll prob trek over and dip my toes in the lucrative waters later
Do I rent the mole or the prospector to mine corundum/copper for the priority mission
Can the Mole mine bigger rocks then the Prospector?
Yes, and hauls a lot more. A bit tedious to use solo, but doable
prospector one can argue is more fun solo
If you just load a bunch of the materials into the station storage for the pyro missons, can I brin git back up to count for credit?
Where's the best place to mine Copper? i've just bought meself a Prospector to catch up with my Corundum stockpile
On the vulture loadout screen, if i want to swap out so I have two abrades when I start up the salvage mode, what slots do they go it? I feel like i used to know, but it didn’t seem right this last time i did it.
Default is the two Cinches, so put the Abrades in those slots. AKA not the tractor beam slot for one, swap the Cinch/Abrade for the other.
Do all mining modules stack?
Yes, with some DR in some situations AFAIK
Hey you lovely citizens.
Have not done mining since before the physical boxes and elevators.
I did not see an option for releasing the job to inventory, so it looks like this is delivered straight to ship only.
Im broke AF still and do not own a cargo ship yet, last time I mined I already had a C2.
What happens to my SCU that doesnt fit on my current ship? lost? other?
Refinery has not been updated for physicalised cargo, it delivers into ships, and then if you want it stored at the station you can pull it out of the ship
Seems to be a current bug where you should go retrieve/check cargo/store in between delivering refinery orders
well i hope not, cause i have not done that.
what happens if I have 40scu refined in an order, but 32 scu ship?
does anyone know if the hull-C auto unloading works? (not when doing cargo missions just doing regular trading)
as far as I know, yes, noticed it being done on some vids, but not tried myself
damn
i tried it about a week ago and it wasnt working do you know how old your vids were and on what update?
no, it was recent though.
he had some tips about getting it to work, cause it is still picky.
make sure you are straight and square, full stop, and there was some other bug to be aware of that can cause issues with the ATC.
but i dont have a hull so i wasnt paying full attention.
but it was 4.0 i believe
in your alls opinion whats the best place to do cargo hauling for
HULL-C Works
i usually mine in stanton
does anyone have a hullc and know if there is auto loading on land or is it just in space stations
I am having a really bad time with mining this patch
just testing, trying to figure out why I'm having mining issues.
Fresh claimed prospector
First rock I find has tungsten in it
Suck up 3 fragments, all around 4SCU
Cargo still showing 0/32SCU
wtf is going on
Helix 1 with Rieger-C3 and XTR-XL
this is the best rock ive ever seen..
Can you rent the hull C yet or no? I've been waiting on em to allow rental
Nope
i havent seen any of the big ships as rentals
caterpillar was once rental early 3.24
it no longer is now, i just bought myself a C2, hoped there will be a RSI big hauler soon
got both caterpillar and c2 nowadays
hi guys, i just upgraded from a prospector to a mole and plan to solo mind, any recommendations on what modules to install on the mining lazers, wanted something to help break the bigger rocks solo
I run Helix on Main w/ Riegers for max power. Hoffs on the support lasers for smaller breaks w/ Focus' on one for max Optimal Zone and FLTRs on the other for minimal Inert on messy breaks. Carry Surges/Stampedes Modules and Waveshift, Boremax, Sabir Gadgets. Obviously you don't need all that but just to give you an idea. You're gonna need to trial and error what you're most comfortable with.
Far from that.
It's way too powerful for many rocks, you need something weaker like a Hofstede
"can handle the heat my friend?"
My loadout basically.
Just running with a Surge on the Helix instead of full Rieger
This exactly. There's multiple ways to get the job done for sure.
All this "Solo Mole'ing" imagine the size of the rocks we could break if we all just ran a fully manned Mole. Things I think about while solo mole'ing
Imagine all the rocks I could break if CIG just released Arrastra for me to solo
Omw to crack every rock of the Aaron halo
Ahhhhh arrastra I require it
when selling Vulture salvage, whats the easiest to find admin office to sell?
Depends where you're salvaging 🤷🏻♂️
Prospector rear hatch, what´s it for?
im flexible if it means less faff planet side
https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Recycled Material Composite You can use this site to find the buying spots. I sell mine at the Orison TDD.
I looked at the Farrister review of the ship and it seems to be a crude drop zone to store any crates in the level below. However if you open the ports for the ship you can drop crates down the rear chute onto the floor below or into space. Use VTOL briefly if the crates get lodged/stuck.
Prospector

In this video, I review the Star Citizen mining ship, the MISC Prospector, including a tour as well as detailed ship review. I include gameplay footage of the MISC Prospector in 4K at 60FPS (or as close as I could get). The gameplay for this Star Citizen MISC Prospector ship review is from patch 3.16

Is it viable to mine solo in the Mole? I rarely play with people but enjoy mining in the prospector and wan to crack those fat boi rocks
I'm in the same boat. Rented a prospector. Couldn't modify it, but i still filled up the bags surprisingly fast. Not sure what'd be more frustrating, frequent double return trips or seat hopping...
It's more rewarding than Prospector mining, but it's up to you, if you can stand the running around the ship continuously or not
just fyi you can indeed upgrade the laser and modules, and with some finessing of the cargo elevators you can upgrade the bags for a total storage of 48 SCU
Might need to watch a video or something and see just how much chair swapping is required lol. I don't think it would bother me much but it also might just be unsustainable once Engineering comes around
Engineering likely won't be a concern if you're not engaging in fights and constantly damaging your components by bad rock cracking or overheating
not much
if you are mining on a windy planet you must land or you drift away for some fucking reason
so finding a landing spot that wont block turret movement is a ting to do not hard tho
i find the seat swapping not that bad and you do it once per rock you mine
mining mode in pilot seat will display the same info as if in a turret, you just dont get to mine
is there better spots than others to find tin and ice in pyro?
Fellow RAFT owners/enthusiasts; what do you use the ship for these days?
A lot of truckers have bigger ships in their fleet, but does the RAFT still have a place for a specific niche or type of hauling that you prefer to use it for?
Not watched the video but this might come in handy...

I use mine quite a bit actually. With all the bugs these last couple of patches I just didn't want to risk losing a C2 load of cargo.
I looked at all stations including L1 & L2. I then figured out station to station and multiple station runs. Then I did the run(s) just buying a single full load at each station. Once I was happy I would buy between 2-5 full loads at each station and just run between them dropping off and picking up cargo. On the final run I would drop off pick up and then go to sell.
With the rear of the Raft pointing at the freight elevator loadiing and unloading is quick and easy. Even if you drop off, sell then buy, then retrieve the Raft loading is still relatively quick and easy.
Hello friend, I think it has a use case when you want to run commodities but don't want to wait 10+ minutes for an autoload. You can get 50k per stop on a few routes across Pyro and Stanton, and if you buy bulk the first time you hit each stop and only sell up the last time you hit each stop you'll find it very quick to move 3x32 station to station.
Your only limiter is your quantum drive
That is pretty much my approach as well, lots of small runs but chaining things together consecutively. I tend to use it for commodity trades rather than hauling contracts. It's good to hear people still have a use for it!
I'm probably the most risk averse I've ever been, I can't see myself owning a C2 again.
I see @leaden monolith is a man of taste as well
The C1 can haul things quicker, but the RAFT has the benefit of exterior loading and about 10k more hull HP which isn't to be overlooked
Yeah sorry @hollow sedge I was talking trading not hauling. My only gripe with the Raft is the handling. Beached whales on Valium move better than a Raft.
I swapped out my QD for the Hemera. Decent speed and range and one of, if not the, best cooldowns.
I use the C1 for small hauling contracts.
isn't refined goods supposed to be physicalised? I can't see it on my ship after i pressed collect on it
it bugged and is now voided
welcome to the game
i have lost around 100SCU this far and have not successfully collected one order since the event started
so i just lost all my shit then?
so if it didn't bug. Then i would be able to see it on the cargo grid, right?
a precaution i heard works is
- Claim the ship to the station
- Retrieve while in you hangar looking as it goes up
- wait a second or two
- store and wait till it stores looking there
- try to take out the order
If your order isn't visible try storing and retrieving. If that doesn't work try server hopping and repeating. If that doesn't work you're SoL
did we lose refinery jobs after the maintenance?
@vivid obsidian replied to my tip on how to avoid that
and you are the 5th today that i say this to and its now funny
I love the way its terrible handling. Taught me a lot about flying!
Do we know if and when they’ll implement refinery transfer to warehouse instead of ship?
not that i have ever heard they plan on any time soon
I swear I remember it was possible to store it in a previous patch
I must be wrong…
I just did everything that’s suggested, claim my c2, spawn my c2 store it and wait till the whole animation is done, exit my hangar collect my refined materials and retrieve the c2
And it clipped… and I lost all my refinery jobs….
You should retrieve your ship from the ASOP in the hangar it's more reliable than using the public ASOP. They haven't updated refinery orders to go to the warehouse but this event shows they badly need to
So engineer got pushed back until next year? makes sense since all ships would need to be gold standard what ever that means to work i'm guessing.
ooph think I just screwed myself out of my refinery order from yesterdays run... Claimed my order from the refinery and ran back to the hangar to see empty platform raising the final bit... i guess I left too quick after sending the Zeus down. Bad habit
Ye but how do I get into a large hangar if I have no spawnable ships other than my c2? ;-;
If you already retrieved and stored your C2 then you should already have a Large Hangar assigned
You said you claimed, called, stored and then collected your materials therfore you should already have a hangar
what stations sell Tin?
Only Magnus gateway
Anyone have 34 SCu of Tin I can buy?
i lost so much
My player lost his gravity on the ship. I float right through it.
For my Polaris Mains, how are you doing cargo missions that you have to go to docking ports for? I have a first level cargo mission and am wondering if it's even possible with my Polaris
Pyro (minus Stanton gateway) and Grim hex and any planet side landing for stanton
There's no auto loading
So docking for cargo is a no-go
Good luck
Id just use a C2 anyways
That or a Zues CL
I don't believe the smaller stations like Rod's, Gaslight, Patch etc have XL hangars; just Ruin/Checkmate/Orbituary
what mods do i need on a mole to be able to break all the rocks
This is what I use. If you want to be able to solo the largest rocks, I'd swap out the Impact for another Helix 2 and throw on all the active modules that really increase power and such. Don't forget to attach mining gadgets as well.
awesome thanks, what mining head do i need?
The red is the heads, the orange are the mods
Helix = power for big rocks
Hofsede = balance for mid to small rocks
oooh i see you you are changing all 3 of the moles lasers so you can manage everything
Yeah. The Impact II is what I use for collection/cleanup since the triple FLTR-XL mods significantly reduces the amount of inert material that you get
Fair enough, only knew bout the main 3 tbh
ok so like your front laser is the helix, and then you have the impact and hofstede on the left and right and just use which ever suits it most?
Front = Impact for collection. Left/Right are Helix/Hofstede. I just angle the Mole to the Helix side if it is a big break
ok so the left and right break the rock then you use the front one to collect
that sounds like alot of switching seats lol
you could always grab two buddies
It's a lot of switching no matter what you do. I could see Helix in the front so that you walk less if you put yourself as a bad range and have to reposition
But eventually you get good enough at eyeballing it and I like to go from helix to hofstede quickly, with the impact for collection 'en route' to the pilot seat
thanks alot
np
was hoping i didnt have to buy the mole cuz its like 10mil but i need the good heads and moduales to break the mega rocks so it will be worth it
You can crack rocks up to 25-30k depending on resistances without any active modules or gadgets, and that has been plenty powerful for me
i should have a few hundred corundum and copper refining by the end of the night
cuz a min ago i found two huge corundum rocks, they were like 80scu
Yeah I feel ya, the jump in power from Prospector to Mole is big and feels like a good use of time, since you don't have to hunt for smaller rocks all the time
yeah not being able to break most rocks in the prospector is so fucking annoying
especially cuz all the good rocks you find with the stuff your looking for, you cant break
last tip before I go to bed -- rocks under 10SCU are scoopable
Enjoy!
I can get big rocks with prospector, I use.surge 1 and stampede 1, with Helix 1 head and a sabir, now super big rocks I can't but I'm able to get em
yeah, you have like no storage space so you cant even get much anyway
my bags are upgraded
oh and fyi, its now possible to put 80 space on the prospector and 144 on the mole!
With which bags?
how do i break this rock?
multiple lasers
This is not a single player game, it would be boring if there were no rocks big enough to make the mole's 3 lasers actually necessary
It might not be a single player game, but I find it really hard to find a clan/corp/org whatever it is who still does things like mine at my time of night.
So I just go out solo all the time.
So how tf do you get the cargo bags out of freight elevator
the ore bags?
Yes to change them out for the bigger bags. They spawn in freight elevator in the grounf
yeah its awful, the solution i've read is you fill the elevator with cargo, it's like 56 1 scu boxes to fill the lowest level of the elevator so when you bring the bags up they'll still be clipped but they'll more likely bounce out and you can get them
otherwise i try to find abandoned moles and steal their bags
Rip
Is Cellin surface still one of the best locations to mine with a rental prospector, or are there any orbital locations with decent A/B tier ores?
Yep you’re right should have thought of that
Grab 1 scu box of anything, and then the bags, you'll need an Argo atlas for this, but grab the box and place it in the middle of the elevator, grab the bag with the atlas and drag it over to the box and it shpuld give the option to place it above yhe elevator floor and boom grab it again and place it on ship
Mole is quite possible to solo now, but you'll have to do seat swapping which can get annoying at times. I feel it is worth it, especially since I can have 3 different laser setups, but not everyone agrees.
Trying to figure out to trade in prospector for mole
how often do commodity terminals refresh?
ok im fucking annoyed rn, this is the second time i stored my mole at a station and when retrieving it i have no inv space??? first time i put stuff in the refinery and then i had no inv so i had to retrieve it again, then this time i landed at a station without a refinery just to refuel in pyro so i could then jump to a refinery station to dump my stuff then it fucking disappeared, mole full of tin and gold and all my cargo just gone, wtf???
yeah it's like the QT fuel bug the same for the mining & salvage hopper the state isn't persisting between server changes within the shard, it's hella annoying I lost soooo much Salvage
so what is the deal with refinery orders right now, is there some secret sauce required to transfer the order from the refinery to your ship without losing the order? seen a lot of comments about it so I'm unclear, thanks!
people recommend manually storing your ship
and many just store and leave and bugging it
wait til the ship is stored
For that, I believe you have to babysit the ship (not leave the hangar) until it goes down, lights stop flashing, and the marker is gone
Here's what I've done w/ 100% success rate:
- claim fresh cargo ship at the location you want to load it up in
- go to refinery and only put in one job
- take ship to wherever you want to go & sell cargo.
I've heard you don't need a fresh ship, and that you can do more than one job. But those are the steps I followed with absolute success.
well on the second time i didnt leave the hanger, i just landed to refuel so i stored and retrieved so avoid the qt fuel bug
And you still got a bugged cargo? I haven't done that step myself. I go straight from the mining site to where I want to refine
I don't incorporate any extra legs
Do 32s fit in a Cat?
No?
Thanks?
I'm just not sure. I I know it won't lock in. But I don't know if you couldn't finagle something
Fair enough, I read something that said you could squeeze them in but was hoping to get confirmation from a Tetris master
You might be able to if you leave the cargo doors open. And hope that they don't close during QT. Kind of like having a big old piece of wood from home Depot going through the backseat
I've never tried anything like that. So that's just a pure guess
I'll have to have an investigation. Mistakenly bought 1000SCU of Iron at Pyro Gate (don't ask) and don't fancy doing 10 trips in the RAFT to make 80k profit
I was able to fit 24’s (stack of 4) then perpendicular I can stack 2 x 24’s. So, maybe 32’s can snap but they should fit.
im having issues making refinery orders, when i go to confirm it it disappears
Im 90% confident. Hahaha
There could be some solutions or workarounds in earlier conversations in this channel. I’ve seen a lot of chatter regarding this.
Yes but not on grid and you have to place them exactly between the doors or they won't close, it will take 8 x 32
i went to retrieve my 60scu pressurized ice refinery order, and when i got the ship out, all the ice was gone
Is there any way to break up a box into smaller boxes? Want to transport a refinery job but there's a lot of space still in my FLMax because I can't specify 4scu boxes
A Tetris wizard has answered, cheers
Try to store and retrieve again. Sometimes the boxes are invisible
The boxes might be then stuck to the ship, and if that happens you are screwed. But hopefully everything is ok!
oh my god thank you so much
i have 2x24SCU ice and 1x4SCU ice, how can i get 6SCU of it out for a mission?
Just put the 24 box in, it'll take the 6 and leave you the rest
ok, i didnt want to assume it worked
New feature. Back when they did this for save Stanton it took it all. But now the elevator gives change
amazing
I have a few questons about the starfarer
How does the starfarer refueling work?
How do i fill the fuel pods? I cant via landing tab
What does the price thing do
What does the scoop do + how do i activate it
I second this question
the prices are what the refueled ship has to pay for the fuel
what exactly does laser extraction pwower do?
either how fast ore is collected
or
the minimum mass that can be etracted
but more less its unimportant in my experience
im trying out an impact 2 with 3 vaux-c2 for a total of 5k extraction power to see how that is
Hi all, newbie type of question but I need to be sure : Is it possible to adapt salvage modules to a Taurus ?
I believe it's speed. Regardless of laser, I have never seen anything other than a 10scu limit on the size you can extract. Mass doesn't seem to factor into it. or perhaps it's an un-implemented stat? It's not really one that is worth much at this point if all it effects is speed, the extraction process is the quickest part of the whole mining experience
as in salvage with a taurus ?
yes, like is it possible to turn a Taurus into a salvage ship by buying and fitting salvage modules ?
i is not possible
damn, i was hoping to be able to directly extract bigger rocks with higher power
thank you so much for the quick answer
like minin salvage is only done by a selection of ships
the bits you can buy are only a small portion of the salvage system the rest is kind of built into the ship
just like a toster that has gas burners wont make you steel
bit of a dum example but i guess it works ?
yes like the conditioning systems that puts the materials into the crates, is that it ?
yeah
yes, 100%. Thank you !
more so that is that
the "modular" ships that are to come into the game might be able to fit a Salvage Module that would allow it to handle salvaged material
but that is prolly in some years to come so no time soon
How do people load/unload cargo with the Starfarer? I always seem to struggle to unload it when I have a VHRT soft-deathed. The cargo door is so small
i just put it in there
its big enough for anything
tho i mostly do it in gravity
How do you stack it in the central grid? I can't seem to get the 24s in when the first set are gridded
start at the sides
I got that, fill the sides first.
Ah wait, do you mean put the cargo here and then load it on top after?
yea
you can even fit a bunch more cargo in there by using those empty spaces for actual cargo
same way you can get way over 96scu of cargo into a c1
Yeah. It looks like you could fit 32 Scus offgrid? or are they too long
ofc they can fit width-ways
I have a few questons about the starfarer
How does the starfarer refueling work?
How do i fill the fuel pods? I cant via landing tab
What does the price thing do
What does the scoop do + how do i activate it
First time playin in Pyro, and I asked chat GPT which faction offers the best transport missions. I got this:
Hauling Mission Types:
Supply Delivery – Transport food, medical supplies, and building materials to settlements.
Convoy Escort (Support Role) – While not direct hauling, you may assist cargo convoys.
Infrastructure Development – Deliver materials for settlement construction.
Risk Level: Low to Medium
Profitability: Steady but not the highest-paying
Best For: Players who prefer safe, lawful cargo transport.
2. Frontier Fighters (FF) – Military Logistics & Resupply
Hauling Mission Types:
Military Supply Runs – Deliver ammo, weapons, and fuel to FF outposts.
Emergency Evacuations – Transport personnel and supplies under combat conditions.
Tactical Deployments – Move vehicles and military hardware to conflict zones.
Risk Level: Medium to High (Potential combat encounters)
Profitability: Decent payouts, especially in high-risk zones
Best For: Players who enjoy logistics with a combat twist.
3. Headhunters (HH) – Smuggling & Black Market Runs
Hauling Mission Types:
Smuggling – Transport illegal goods (drugs, stolen tech, weapons) across secure zones.
Pirate Cargo Runs – Move looted cargo to black-market stations.
Contraband Extraction – Retrieve and transport stolen or high-risk items.
Risk Level: Very High (Crime stat risk, PvP threats, law enforcement pursuit)
Profitability: Potentially the highest-paying, but risky
Best For: Players who enjoy high-risk, high-reward smuggling gameplay.
Is this pretty accurate? FF seems pretty interesting to me (delivering tactical vehicles and such)
It seems to be talking about the Fight For Pyro event specifically.
Outside of it, there are no missions available for the FF.
now that is something i have never seen anyone do
If hauling is your thing, I believe the CFP is the best for it.
so if you go CFP, you have "repeatable" missions, where if you go FF you only have the fight for pyro stuff?
the fight for pyro missions lock you into one faction for the mission series, but after that you can do either of the others. Other than within the fight for pyro missions, you are never truly locked to a faction. You can do an intro mission for the other faction, (which ruins your rep with the first faction), and do missions for the other
don't expect to haul any ground vehicles in the FF missions though, I highly doubt that's a thing
Everyone would steal them
Like oh here's a Nova tank please deliver to x. I will give you 10,000
Or more likely 1,000
All that within 50km of my refinery
I'll answer this in a few minutes when I get home
alright thanks
@spare cloud any suggestions for good orbital mining locations to get Tier A ores? I'm not looking to min/max or chase Quant every waking second, just want to get a decent haul for the time I'm putting in
Is CRU-L1 a decent spot?
Check pins, there's a chart
Is there any possible way to get my ship to stop floating in planets
what do you mean "floating in planets"
Like when I get out of my pilot seat on eutrupe the ship is floating like a mf
after you land, turn the engines off (press i) before getting out of the seat
that's a good practice anyway (lowers your EM signature)
Yeaaaaaah I stopped solo MOLE mining on Euterpe because of this. It's wind, and there's no way to prevent your ship from floating when you're not in commands
And landing while MOLE mining is not an option
Fuck, that sucks, and astroid mining sucks right?
yeah, MOLE mining solo just isn't worth it IMO. Most asteroids are too big for you to solo mine (especially with stock mining head) and planitary mining is just a pain with the wind
Nah, I'm doing good
Asteroid mining isn't bad, but if you haven't upgraded your mining head, about 3/4 of the rocks you come across will be too big
Whete
How does the starfarer refueling work?
You extend boom. Ship requests to dock (N), you accept ([), they hold N once close enough to auto dock. Once docked, they open up their mobiglass landing page and request fuel. You go to console (back left of the Starfarer bridge/cockpit) and open pod, open nozzle, bam! Money and happy customer.
How do i fill the fuel pods? I cant via landing tab
Yes you can, you just HAVE to do it manually. There are 8 pods and you have to choose what fuel each pod will get and how much of it. You wouldn't want to click auto fill since that would cost you millions.
What does the price thing do
You set your own price. You can gouge or be fair or be charitable. Your call.
What does the scoop do + how do i activate it
I don't think this is functional yet.
I honestly found prospector mining on planets to be just as good if not better than MOLE farming. You just need to make more trips and doing the "Don't bug out refinery crates" dance is more annoying
it is
just land in a rock or a hill
its doable and imo still better than prospector trips but that is just me
i saw a suggestion to CIG to do this, but I don't think they have announced that they are going to do this at all
I thought I read somewhere Power / (Resistance * mass) - cooling rate = energy transfer (how much up/down the cracking indicator moves)
amazing, thanks so much
yes, they just barely fit between the doors when closed, not on the grid, so its hard to stack anything on top of them, but they fit and will stay during qt
would a Hof + Rieger combo be enough to tackle your typical 'roid?
Not sure... Honestly I don't use gadgets because I can't be bothered to do the math on what it would take, what the cost of the gadgets are, and how much "profit" I'll lose vs the time investment of just going and finding another roid.
Honestly, if you own your MOLE and can outfit it with the highest level stuff, it's probably not that bad. If you're using the rental, IMO forget it
Rental mole is ok
just make sure to use it for most of the time
rental prospector is better since its cheaper so less risk of loss
min maxing the heads and gadgets requires not much
more power = bigger rock crackable
resistance % lowering = bigger rock crackable
rest is unimportant unless minmaxing
Can someone explain how to create an order in refinery? Then I click confirm nothing happens. For example I have 46 SCU of ore and about 2 SCU of trash, when it asks if I aware the trash will go I click ok and nothing happens.
you need to chose a method
then tick off what ore you want
innert can not be refined and wont allow clicking on it
ferrit exchange or somethign like that is the fastes high yield method
Anyone here have experience with selling CMats?
I've got a Reclaimer and a massive source of CMats, but I don't want to start grabbing them if it means finding out that all of the terminals only buy two SCU's a day.
I sell my CM at Orison they take larger amounts.
Do they have any upper limits?
They do, pre event they were always full
What would be the likely profits from a mostly full Reclaimer?
Well..
I can probably answer that myself. A full buffer alone is 250 SCU. Payout is like, 2-3k per SCU? That's about 750K for a full buffer, right?
You should use the CM and RMC for the priority missions right now... They give a bigger pay out per SCU then selling it
I can get CM any time, in large quantities. The issue is that I have an overabundance of it currently, and I'm saving the RMC to help people get through the event.
So if I want to make money, I have to find something to sell, and CM is something I can get easily any time of the day. Literally a full buffer of 250 SCU in ten minutes or less.
I'd be spending time scraping up more RMC, but my Reclaimer scrapers continue to bug about every thirty SCU, registering the target hull as having zero SCU/s of RMC. The only workaround seems to be that I must replace the Reclaimer entirely.
Nobody seems to have an alternate fix.
where can i find tin in pyro
I would take a big chunk of it one of 4 TDD's, see how much you can easily sell, then relog to new shards until all is sold. Not familiar with the 30 RMC glitch.
What are you doing to get CM so fast? I’ve been buying salvaging missions but it doesn’t feel efficient
Take the tar pits coverup mission, a Starfarer one is a full buffer in one munch
Hammerhead is quite a lot too.
Munching completes the mission too so free money 💰
Just insurance fraud. With your own reclaimer
anyone know where is the best place to mine Ice?
literally struggling to find any in all of the clusters and RABs
Have you tried the ring of Pyro 6 or the further out clusters, they should be in the coldest parts of the system, plus I heard they are quite rare spawn but contain pretty much all ice. The signal was 1660 IIRC
The Regolith site shows the various highest percentages of Pressurized Ice in Pyro. Based on that info here is where I'll be mining for the event: The RBA's of Sierra, Cook and Ultra. Also near Terminus CAJ-445. Good luck!!
Havent tried the wring but pretty much everything between Pyro 5 and the sun ive checked out
only found 1 ice node, and it was 50% ice
been to all those areas, small asteroid fields literally takes 5 minutes to go from the beginning to the end
the best location is RAB Sierra
I go to Yela, where there's missions that pay to scrape the hull of large ships, usually Starfarers and Hammerheads. Doesn't take long to just pull up and crunch them now that I've got appropriate distance for crunching dialed in.
Hurston really need to clean up their logistics, I just hauled 80 SCU of stims from Teasa to Everus, and then picked up another contract to bring 93 SCU of stims from Everus back to Teasa 🙄 I just brought most of these up a second ago, people!
is it known what conditions cause contract cargo to lose its "contractness" upon delivery and end up in your personal inventory? really would love to be able to avoid that 😖
is cargo contract-specific? i.e. if I accept two contracts for the same good, and load them at the same time, does it matter which boxes go to which destination, or are they interchangeable?
they are not interchangeable. It's a huge pain when that happens. Best to avoid accepting two at a time with the same goods
@inland spire I've never had such issues. Just make sure it's what they want
Example
3 contracts
-1. Asks for 4 iron, 3 tin, and 7 ice
-2. Asks for 9 iron, 4 croundrum
-3. Asks for 3 tin
All goin to the same place or different wont matter
All of its in your ship mixed up. Long as you give the requested your fine.
I just do ones going to the same place to make it easier on me tho so take what you will from that
How is it that being the furtherest away from a Star there is no ICE lol
You're looking for signatures in multiples of 1660, right?
1660 × 1 = 1660
1660 × 2 = 3320
1660 × 3 = 4980
1660 × 4 = 6640
1660 × 5 = 8300
If you find more than 3, let us know....
any updated pictures on what points ahve what ores and such? also good all purpose head for the prospector not needing any usage modules. still the helix i presume?
Helix for sure since controlling distance is easy
Best set up for solo mole to break big rocks in space?
Currently have
Helix 2
Reiger c3s
And stampede.
I'm nit too worried about window. I do well without
There has to be a way to filter hauling missions somehow right? Fucking 70 Hauling missions and I'm getting crosseyed looking at them
try #looking-for-session or !guide or just ingame general chat
so when looking at passive modules for mining heads when they say extraction laser power, what is that meaning?
Is there anyway to get more then 144SCU on the mole I can't seem able to snap the last 4 in the back?
There isn't but just try to learn the keywords to quickly look through em and find what you're looking for.
I've seen a video on this, but I gotta figure out how to do it.
@quick narwhal do you have the video?
I saw it on youtube, I'll have to find it
I have the one to get it up to 144 SCU that's it.
Oh okay
not my experience though. I'm seeing behaviour more in line with what @pearl juniper says. I had three contracts for processed food and pressurised ice, at the first stop some of the processed food boxes just did not want to register on the elevator and ended up in my personal inventory instead of being delivered for the contract. I ended up giving up on the whole bunch as it was late and I did not want to spend another couple of hours sorting out two commodities across six destinations
Huh guess ill have ta try myself then
Ill come back here with my findings after work today
Only 7 more hours till I can haul in space again
does anyone really use mining gadgets? they seem like so much of a hassle for not that big of a benefit
I use Optimax a lot
On a 120 SCU rock with 10-20% inert materials, that's what guarantees me all of it will be in the same 10-20 SCU rock after cracking, rest is pure ore
I've replaced the Prospector's Pods with Mole's, filled 12 SCU, bed-logged, logged back in, and the game reverted them to the original ones 🤦
Is there any fix to that? Don't bedlog? Bedlog again? Claim ship again?
I don't want to lose 60k each time I bedlog and stuggle to replace them again
master hauling quests are a joke, needing that high rep and not add the pay for it, hahaha
I think you need to save the new bags via VLM process.
how much do they pay? and how many containers are we talking about? I've always been curoius
container size?
maybe that will change if i move away from everus
the ones i saw where 16 or below
VLM?
when will the mining cheat sheets be updated to 4.1?
Hiw do you activate stampede module
use regolith
it's updated
and gives you everything there is from the sheets
Yes, The Vehicle Loadout Manager. Have you used this before under the F1 keys then to the right? Ship must be in your same spot hanger.
Guys
Anyone having this problem where the loadout on the mole is a mess? You can’t choose where you want the modules, when I get the mole out they just change to a different turret (although I used it fine yesterday)
what is the score bonus associated with select locations?
bonus multiplier when scanning in this gravity well??
that's if you are part of the Regolith Survey Corp, submitting scans from that location gives you more points on their leader board
My MOLE setup has remained consistent between play sessions.
Both with bed logging as well as storing/retrieving.
(Including the increase up to 144 SCU bags)
You have to store the ship, open mobiglass, unequip a mining mod, reequip, click save, then you can bring the ship back up with the improved bags
You essentially have to tell the system that THAT new config is how you want the ship to be 'saved'
If you only swap the bags, the system doesn't know that it is your desire to store it as is. A non-intuitive safety net for when parts get stolen or destroyed.
Same reason with not clicking 'repair' after you do the swaps. The game 'repairs' it by restoring it to the saved state.
wtf, I just lost all my rep with covalex? they're only offering a single "re-evaluation" contract? what's going on?
i would be sad if that happened
why the f would that happen? I did the re-eval, and now I'm back to "trainee"
I was a member dammit
oh dammit the penalties for failing a member contract are steep
ahh
even if you "fail" it because of game bugs, like cargo losing its contractness at random delivery
is it better to abandon than fail?
good to know 😦
so always abandon bugged contracts, never submit
getting back to member is probably like 5 days of work, fuck this
Did you 'submit' a mission that didn't complete?
yes
Never do that unless the cargo shows green as delivered, better to just abandon
figured that out already
Yeah I was just gonna say it seems like you've figured that out
Learned the hard way
Whoever thought that much negative rep for a fail in a game this full of bugs was a good idea is beyond me
So is it also better to abandon a contract than to just log out and let it disappear, does that count as a fail?
Abandon or log out is the same
Gotcha
Only cargo destruction or submitting a 0 delivery counts as fail
There's no rep loss for abandoning by the way, they removed that so people could safely get rid of bugged contracts, they just never addressed the harsh fail penalty
That's good to know
Yeah mission rep is brutal
Cig should almost disable rep loss
Until they make missions consistently work
Relog is -0. Best way to avoid rep loss for hauling.
now I know
Submit if over 50% complete. Relog for any other scenario
I'm looking at the Fortune... is there a limit to the size of ships it can fracture/munch?
I'd guess it's the same/similar to Vulture which is limited to ships the size of MSR or smaller but can't find any info about it.
Fortune cannot fracture
It is limited to scraping RMC
Another drake W
I don't believe that to be true. I've used it to fracture/disintegrate. I just don't know the limits and haven't run into big enough ships to try yet.
You have a fortune and have fractured with it?
Yes. I didn't make that clear above.
StarCitizen has a video showing it in action, as well.
Hmm interesting as it was regularly talked about at initial release to not fracture. I doubt it can do as much or bigger than the vulture since it has only the one salvage arm.
Yeah, I'm pretty new and impulse bought the Fortune warbond because I wanted a money maker with LTI 😊
I didn't even know about the fracture limit on Vulture until today when i was reading a wiki.
#starcitizen #starcitizenguide #starcitizen2025 #elguapoe
This new Star Citizen 4.0.2 Mole Mining Trick will Get You More Tin, Ice, Copper and Corundum Fast. Star Citizens 4.0.2 New Mole Mining Trick allows you have to have more space and get the Most out of Mole Mining Fast In Star Citizen 4.0.2. Tin Ice and Copper doesn't always come easy
...
Does anyone know if there's a way to complete this to the back four?
AFAIK you can only expand the back 4's capacity using this method. It's the front 2 that you cannot due to blocking geometry
So 144SCU is the cap until people try/figure out if they can get the remaining pods upgraded
can someone tell me how I actually refine ore these days?
I havent been mining since cargo refactor and since the bags of the prospector work
Refining hasn't changed, the refineries still don't support freight elevators
so just land, store, go to refinerie and done?
Correct
Set up your refinery order, all that
And picking up the refiner order is done by auto loading into a stored ship, no fee or waiting time
do I do sell to refiniery?
No, that's to directly sell unrefined ores to the refinery.
Use the terminals just on the right of it to refine
uh what? 😂
oh left... they are to the left
are the mining cheat sheets still up to date?
and should I rather get a mole for more cargo? 😂
They pretty much are. There's regolith.rock you can use too, good site
ah yes true
Solo MOLE is more profitable than prospector, but it's also a lot of running around. But yeah, get one if you don't mind
honestly I just want to get the tin for supply or die. But I noticed that the refinery closest to the best tin spots still is quite a bit far away
and going back and forth for 48 SCu is meh
While I'm doing Copper/Corundum with 144 SCU just outside of the refinery, within 50km of it
hey! can some1 tell me: if I mine copper worth of 32 scu. how much is it if i high yield refine it. am i getting 30 copper scu in return or how does it work?
but 26 mil...
13mils
https://regolith.rocks/tables/ore
regolith has a calculator for each method
is there a different calculator than regolith? I want to see the time / cost / yield of each method, regolith is kinda weird on that
is there a chart showing level progress between each rep level of Hauling Contracts? IE Rookie contracts are so many points, junior etc
The rep are 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, 8000
Rookie, junior, member, experienced, senior, master.
This is a good guide I saw:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1j7x4wx/hauling_rep_and_money_guide/
There was a post with the level progression but I can't find it now, but it pretty much doubles per rank
do boxes in the elevator need to be on the grid, or just inside is sufficient?
On the grid otherwise you'll get a warning that the elevator is blocked
they can also be stacked on top of the grid but not snapped
basically, it can be a pile to the ceiling, it will still transfer down
it will make alot of noise though !! but will transfer in the end
On another issue, have they "Fixed" the Package Delivery Contracts by deleting the whole thing? I noticed there are no more package delivery contracts, just cargo
They're just yet to be refactored for meshing. I think they've started to add some pyro ones in PTU
TY, I used to love that game loop, The Space Fedex guy
I do miss delivering to city roof tops
Any tips on how to attach the bags of the mole underneath those that are already there?
I'm trying to get my mole to 144SCU
but the new ones aren't simply locking below those placed already
Did you take the puck ones out?
you mean the prospector ones? Yep I've removed four of those
(you xan see some of the mole bags are higher than the rest)
it's just not snapping
Sorry, didnt look close enough.
So when attaching them back, there are actually 3 attachment points, and it can take some finagling to get the highest one to highlight for attachment
You have to make sure the first one is at the highest attachment point, then the second will attach without problem
And it looks like your bag is at the middle or lower point
oh there's a middle point? I thought there only was a lower and higher
lower being the standard position
alr let me try replacing those ones
Nope, there are actually 3. The bag, and then each point that the pucks were attached to
I'm hoping someone figures out how to get the back 4 to do the same
I mean they are as high as they can get
do the bags also clip with the ship or only between each other?
Cause right now you can see the difference the left one should be positioned correctly right?
While the right onw should go higher
Yeah, the right should def be higher. I'm not where I can check my ship in person for comparison
now they are both as high asa the left one
same for the two ones on the other side of the ship
Wait, quick question bc I can't tell from the photo. Are you doing this with the 4 closest to the lift, or the 4 at the back
Ok, thats correct
I'm sorry, I'm not sure at all why it's not working for you, I didn't have this kind of trouble. If there's no one else who can assist, when I'm on later tonight I can message you and if you're around Ill join your server and see if I can figure it out if you'd like
alr ty, if I do not respond it's probably cause I went to sleep
thanks for the help anyway :D
Fair enough. I'm a night shifter so I'm always on late
so how do i detach the bags from my mole, the tractor wont grab them?
oh oki thanks!
Note that not all ships give you a on-screen indication that ports have been opened
If there's no indication, it still works, and it's a toggle. If you spam it, you will just have a 50/50 chance of having ended on the right setting
it worked thanks
do i need to store my mole again after i done it to save the change or?
It doesnt matter- if you have to claim, it will reset
ok so make sure i dont die, got it
Same thing with the 80-Prospector
@pearl juniper i do stand corrected, yes it will matter which crate you give your missions for different locations
hello - where is hurston L3?
left side of the hurston ring
should be the opposite side of Hurston's orbit
Slightly northeast of Crusader
Pain in the ass, it is
for every planet: L1 and L2 are close to the planet, L1 is towards the star, L2 is away
L3 is on the planet's orbit, but opposite side of the star
L4 and L5 are on the planet's orbit, about 1/3 along the way towards L3, one on each side
yea for all orbits (at least for stanton), L3 is opposite of respective planet and L5 is 1/3
just looked at the ingame map
THis fucking game. I just loaded my ship and the hanger door had a double door and I tried go out of it and half way through it my ship turned purple and destroyed the ship and I lost everything GG CIG
Don't try to go through when the hangar is overlapping just wait a few seconds then it will clear, of course if you were half way through that's just bad luck. It's like running into an elevator shaft when it's black, just don't do it. I know, little consolation now but you know for next time.
dammit did 4 haul contracts, all 4 bugged at least half cargo on delivery, one bugged more than half 😖
am i reading regolith
depends, what's the URL bar say?
I would store it. unequip something and reequip it and click save changes
Thats a lot of CM
For Supply or Die, where's the best location to salvage?
is it still panels or is there a good contract?
Where'd you get an 890 to spawn?
you need 2SCU or CM for every 1SCU or RMC for the SoD missions
one option is taking a bunker defend mission (so that you're allwed to approach the bunker without trespass) and salvaging the player ships there
Another option is getting a buddy to take bounties and eating the bounty corpses
guys how can i upgrade my mole i se theres new heads and gadets and laser upgrades but idk what it all means
How do I do not terrible in a Fortune?
by getting a vulture
I have a Fortune. No Vulture. Vulture is Drake and Drake depresses me.
Vulture feels like I'm in a backhoe or a grader; some big Cat or Komatsu
Other Drake is depressing, but Vulture actually has interior panels :)
It’s dark and depressing. How much is an upgrade from a Fortune again? When they automate the interior conveyor, I will consider it but not like this.
Vulture is 2.65M in-game
I have real money. Not IG money. I have like, 4K AUEC.
I shall make do with the Fortune.
I mean, I getcha
but it's 2 scrapers vs 1
I have not heard a single nice thing about the Fortune
It auto deploys it’s boxes.
Twice as fast is not fast enough.
I honestly haven’t used the Vulture, but I’ve been happy with my Fortune so far.
For fracturing it’s just as fast as Vulture, so for SoD right now it’s doing fine since that’s more required than RMC.
But how do I get the RMC when that’s required?
Put an Abrade head on and just do it.
Specifically, you can find panels floating around asteroids and stuff. Seems like the cheap way to avoid paying 20k aUEC for a small origin ship which yields little 🤣
I don’t know if twice the speed of scraping is really that important if i then have to manually eject each box. I like my automation
Same. Is Abrade the fastest?
What do the different multipliers and efficiencies do?
scrape, then fracture
It takes 5 minutes to get a single SCU.
do you ahve the stock cinch head?
Yes…
Abrade.
How much faster is it?
yes
with two on the Vulture, I get probably an SCU in 30sec
abrade is much faster than cinch
If the Fortune is fully loaded with boxes and the auto eject has been turned on, does it keep sending boxes to the grid when you start unloading?
you have to go push the "eject" button once for each side, then it kicks the rest of them out
So if you push that when you land, before you get out to unload, would it keep pumping them out once you start to free up spaces on the grid?
hey eveyone
Little bit of info for Mole owners: If you get an issue where your Mole says it has 0/0 SCU cargo capacity, you can fix that by detaching and reattaching the bags. In doing so however, you may notice that there are 2 sets of "MISC Ore Pods" attached as well. You don't want to mess with them, they're not functional ore pods yet and if removed, they can't be attached where they were at before, and will be visibly missing until the next patch. So, just pull the regular bags off and put them back on.
Best place to find ICE?
look around in here
and remember its RNG so no spot is best really
What's the best cargo ship you can rent rn and where? I'm running the c1 and its...trash. I forgot where i got the freelancer...
Freelancer is at cargo decks, you can also rent a Constellation Taurus which has the largest capacity of the rentals, you'll have to check item finder for the location tho
96 scu isn't enough?
if you are running a lot then it starts to feel really bad
Also if mining cargo only 64scu can be used
Aint no way someone wants to use a freelancer over it though
you can retrive -> load to station -> repete
then take a whole load
Anytime the grid is full it will stop auto ejecting, so when I land I clean off the external grids, the jump in and start it again, then it’s easy to pull one off while it auto ejects the remaining 13.
what loadouts do yall use in the mole?
For a solo, that is.
Wouldn't recommend for a crewed ship.
MINING MISSIONS FINALLY! -SUPPLY OR DIE EVENT -How To Do It Properly And Actually Finish It/4.0.2/4K
Hi everyone! I finally finished last weekend SUPPLY OR DIE EVENT doing LARGE MINING MISSIONS with Argo Mole. This takes time to complete with mining, and we have a lot of problems which alot of players don't know about, so here I am explaining e...
whats the best thing to do if the rock either is too weak (min power too high) or the optimal window is too small?
Depends how it is, but I generally do that kind of thing
ive had rocks where the optimal zone is like an 8th of that
That's while using the Helix, so I couldn't just went for the Hofstede instead and wouldn't have faced this issue
and where even a short toggle of the laser almost fills it up to max at minimal power
IMO if this happens you're probably cracking something not worth it, or using a head way too strong.
well im currently mining mostly ice and tin
I use a Hofstede + 2x Focus III for the lowest achievable power + good green zone (could be Focus I for even less power but also less green zone) and I actually never needed this head so far. My Hofstede + 2x FLTR-XL does the job just fine for all small stuff I came across
Terrible idea to respawn back with all gear. They need to just added a recovery Tab to the cargo terminals for bought items.
hey! is corrondum rare? cuz i was searching for it on clio and i found NOTHING
is it depending on time or smth
For ice, my Hofstede S2 with Rieger C3 and Focus III has been working well. I haven't actually needed to use my Helix II, with 2x Rieger C3 and 1 Focus III. (The Helix II has a small green zone, which does make it harder to use, but also has the power to fragment larger rocks.) There are occasions I have to pulse the Hofstede, but usually on secondary fractures.
Regolith.rocks
Different areas have different ores present
surge only lasts 15s, is that really worth it?
Fuck yeah it is. Life saver for some rocks, and not needed for most.
the largest rocks have usually taken more than 15s for me
You use the surge twice
can someone tell me why I loose 12 SCU when I refine 80 SCU, but only 1.2 SCU, when I refine 42?
Same method, same station... but 10 times more lost, by less than 2x more ore
You sure the first one was 42 and not 48 ? MOLE bag upgraded prospector is 48 SCU.
hmm, I was kinda sure that it was 42 SCU
48 would make sense
I mean it was a full prospector with 4x MOLE bags, but I thought that was 42
now it's a MOLEMISC prospector with 80
2xMOLE bags doesn't work ?
why a surge and not another reiger c3?
Cause Surge bonus is more important, and for most case I don't need yet an other Rieger.
alrighty
so
whats yalls thoughts on the new salvo starters comin to town?
where do i sell 16scu boxes of cm, lorville admin dont buy that size
i thought tdd was rmc but i will try
TDD babbage, A18, and orison
heres a link for all sell locations regarding CM
https://uexcorp.space/commodities/info/name/construction-materials/tab/locations_buying/
nothing bout lorrvile :/
been a while since i used it, i used to fly in and out of lorville and sell there
lemme know if you find a sell point there would be good info to put there
that was pre mastermodes, i quit for a bit while they tuned it
ahh true nough
loadout for a Prospector? 😂
please? 😮
Has anyone figured out how to double the front four mining bags of the mole or is it just undoable
Who knows that secret commodity trading route in pyro? the one that 3rd party sites don't publish? I lost the reddit with it in the comments.
I think it's explained here
Im soloing a mole and I have a Helix 2 with a Rieger C3, a Torrent 3 , and a Focus 3. Any reason why I cant crack an asteroid at 80 SCU, 17% resistance, and an instability of 186?
mass is about 30k
Also is there a way to upgrade my scanner?
Quick question i have been mining and when I finish my refinery work orders it says it puts it in my carrack but its not in the carrack when I check did I just lose all my tin or am I being dumb?
Try storing the ship and bringing it back up
Sometimes it doesn't show the first time
Ok
This is my current Mole loadout. 30k mass at 17% resistance probably isn't crackable without at least one of the modules being a Surge.
Actually, yes, here's another loadout I have run in the past, with one of the Riegers replaced with a Surge. That would get you above 30k on a single laser at 17% resistance
hey
i need help
i started a prio mission and i shared it with my party members- we gave everything in the elevator and according to the mission we completed it, but somehow it still shows up in the contracts and we didnt get any money
is there any workaround?
The servers may be acting up, grab a snack and pray they recover
you mean by grab a snack to get a snack in real life or in the game? xD
both
Do the hauling missions advance to eventually letting you use the hull c as you rank up?
Yes. If it works. Iirc they hit when you reach Experianced
What just happened I loaded my ship with cargo I called it up the lift and it turned Purple and disappeared can I get my Cargo back?
is there anything i can do with illegal or stolen marked items?
That's a known issue on the issue council that you can contribute to.
I don't know how this gets triggered and if you can prevent it or not, maybe you can find more information in the comments of the report.
Sell them at illegal terminals. Grim HEX, scrapyards...
I'd go for Helix[Rieger-C3 + Surge] and if you're a maniac you can also carry a Hofstede[FLTR-XL] inside the ship to switch when you want.
I wouldn't. Just Sabir and Optimax gadgets.
You can use them for any station to station contract if those stations have cargo decks. But yeah the Hull C intended ones show up at Experienced.
Is it better to mine at cellin or mine in pyro
I'm using a stampede instead of a surge should I change?
also is it even true that the farther you go from the sun the more ice you find in pyro?
How long would you say it takes to fully load a reclaimer 400 + 400scu with 3 to 4 players?
Stampede gives less of a power bonus but is nice if you need more instability reduction, and less shatter damage, but I prefer going with a Surge for even more power,
Is there any secret in pressured ice hunting? I've spent 3hours yesterday on RAB-SIERA and RAB-COOK looking for TYPE-I asteroids with signature 1660 and I found 0. This is sad.
What are you mining for, and what with?
If you're hunting for stuff for Supply or Die, none of it drops on Cellin.
If you're just looking for a chill time with some pretty easy and rich-enough ore, then Cellin is good
Is there any keybinds for moving the sliders on mining gadgets? Trying to carefully move the sliders in Zero-G is a bear!!
thanks. Yeah, I'm not too fuzzed about "hardcore mining". All I do is look for rocks with tin and break them. Currently using Helix with Rieger C3 and Focus 3. I guess I can switch to surge, is that better?
Item recovery is a huge waste of dev time to solve a problem that won’t exist. Because all they have to do is deliver item crafting. Then players will craft large stockpiles of their favorite gear.
Surge will help for bigger rocks you may not be able to crack without it.
I don't know how's tin, but if it's lots of small rocks, it's not necessary
there often are a bunch of impossible rocks inbetween currently, but per ore deposit, mostly like 2-3, the rest is mineable for me
Not sure how big they are, but you should be able to crack ~25k rocks with 0% resistance with the help of Surge, against just ~18-20k with Rieger Focus
Anyone know what button on keyboard to unlock ship so you can change bags. I already tried just shutting off the shields, but it's not letting me use my lift gun to take them off. Some ships it shows in the cockpit....not seeing it in the Mole.
Unlock Ports is one of the options available via PIT. (Alt+F) Not sure if the keybind works for me because in some ships I haven't seen any indicator for it with the new HUD.
The keybind normally is right alt+k
Thanks! I will try that..
Guessing you have to be in the chair to do it..lol
Alt F worked... Thanks @near swallow
hey, mr. Pro Miner, thanks so far. Another thing, how do I get refined ores out of the refinery?
I know, select ship and click the button - but I've read that a lot of refineries ate the cargo. Anything to pay attention to? I have like 5 or 6 finished refinery jobs. Do I just load them all at the same time or should I, like, not do it that way?
Haven't heard about refineries eating cargo in ages, but there's an issue if you auto load in ships that have been stored automatically. Like when you leave your hangar, your ship gets auto stored.
The best thing to do is to freshly claim your cargo ship, and then select it as destination for your orders. You can stack multiple orders, no problem.
Once you claimed the ship, as long as you never let the game auto store it, by storing it yourself and not leaving the hangar before the ASOP shows "Retrieve", you should be good, but to make sure, you can also claim the ship each time you want to collect orders.
can I not just store it myself when I get there? or does that also cause that issue? Just asking.
Like I said, if the ship has never been auto stored, you should be good. But it's best you claim it.
will do thanks
it's the same one, you can save the ship again and retrieve it back with cargo
happens to me each time I am taking cargo out of refinery
wonder why we can't just select the location itself
Ah yes, cargo not appearing. No, not the same bug as what I describe, but that's a thing yes. And yeah, workaround is to store and retrieve until the cargo shows
well it behaves in the same way
first time you retrieve the ship with cargo out of refinery the cargo is invisible just like when you leave it unstored
Failing to see how the two bugs have anything in common other that cargo being bricked.
One is it not showing despite being there, and fixed by storing retrieving the ship.
Other is cargo being here but impossible to detach no matter what, which happens in ships that have been auto stored, and doesn't in freshly claimed ones.
oh, then we are talking about different bugs
so... I did exactly what you said, claimed my orders and... my ship is empty
I literally lost 3 days of mining tin lol
I guess I pray and store/retrieve it a 3rd time now
yeah I guess that fixed it
phew
my poor tin.
how long does it take for an asteroid to repsawn? can it be that I can't find any TYPE-I because they all are already mined?
Perhaps, just server hop
bed log and join back in and hope the server isn't wonky
I swear to god... are there any tricks with the C2? I'm trying to get that damn box in there since 10 minutes
in there that is
I wish... I just cant get it to snap
buy an ATLS
thats the best I can to
easy snap
fucking finally
I've just purchased a Vulture and looking to outfit it, I've watched a guide that suggests FR66 shields, JS-300 power plants, and Glacier coolers, and I tried to find them on finder.cstone.space, but it says "not sold directly or at all", how does one obtain those?
All the vulture needs is abrade heads
yeah, I know, those are listed as "nice to haves" in case you need some running away to happen
I'm more interested out of general interest, how does one obtain components that aren't on the market?
erkul has locations listed per item
they are not being sold, period. The only way to get them are CZs or Piracy (or if a ship has them by default, you could get them from PvE bounties)
it says "item unavailable in shops"
apart from switching out the tractor beam for a second abrade, which seems like a good advice, any other upgrades (with mass-market components) people would recommend then?
simple. Best shields you can buy, coolers with low power usage, powerplant with most power you can buy, quantum drive which fits your needs
I'm extremely fresh, this is my first ship purchase (besides the pledge), so I have no idea where to even start. I still have no idea what to look for and how to meaningfully compare components
so not so simple (to me) 😅
just check !erkul - you can compare components there and filter. I just told you what to look for on the components
• Calculator • Shops • Ships • Weapons •
for the quantum drive, you have to decide if you want to proorize speed, range or low cooldown
if a ship is S2 (e.g. the vulture), does it mean all its components are S2?
No. Ship size isn't tied to comp size that way.
then if its stock components are S1, does it mean it only takes S1, or are there cases where it can fit better than stock?
It's best you ask in and read pins in #flight-combat-racing for a better understanding of ship components and everything related
my Spirit full of Corundum glitched in the Hangar after i called it. i left server otherwise it would be destroyed. afterlogin, the Spirit was empty. And Refinery still shows its full. any workaround ?
send back down, bring back up
i hope the corundum is not gone 😄 its coming up. i will see in 10 seconds
you are the best. it worked. thank you (No Corundum lost)
Sounds like common sense to me!
Does anyone know if they stopped the caterpillars lift from going fully down and you can decide?
is it just me or is the ATLS trying to murder more people?
Tbh i have never had an issue with the ATLS
ATLS is OK if you stay away from walls or any obstacles lol. I just use mine to shunt boxes in my personal hangar then park it in the storage bays
The open to the ground which makes it a bit easier to see where you're placing boxes and easier to jump in quickly if you need to move a box quickly
you sell it at tdd now in lorville not the admin office
Hey y'all, is the SRV still working for TOWing stuff? (Atmo, QT)
Yup
last i heard qt was havin an issue
Anyone know how to split a 32 SCU cargo container?
There's only one way to split a container atm, that's giving more cargo than needed for the Supply or Die event and getting back the leftovers
Anyone done salvage in pyro, if so what was you’re experience, I’ve not played for a year and a half so I really wanna explore pyro but at the same time if I could salvage while doing so that’d be cool.
meh imo
but i think salvo is nerfed atm anyways due to sod
cant find a HH to save my life and all salvo contracts seem to have been downgraded in either size, quality, or both
I'm at a point that these small changes to ships like the Cat. these Devs don't play the game to even know what we do daily with them to know how to design them better for us. That is the issue
Is there an echo or do you just copy paste the same thing in every channel lol
Cool I’ll reconsider the vulture then ty
allow me to be clear on it
fortune - vulture
salvo heads: 1 - 2
cargo grid: outside - inside
fits in polaris: 2 - 1 (barely)
also i started out with the vult and recl and am a bit prejudice against it already
plus was really hoping for a middle ground between the vult and recl so having another mid size ship did not help my likability to the fortune
@shrewd loom .
Fortune is fine for lazy. Auto eject, dock, sell. No labor needed. They just need to make the vulture a little bigger to be a mid ship
i would agree to the last part but they both hold and eat the same weight class
plus the vult is bigger than the fortune sadly
I would make the vulture bigger and eject 2 or 4 scu boxes. And like 48 scu grid
Fortune should cost less and be more the intro to salvage
naw we got 1-2 starters on the way for salvo already -_-
still no large ship
and a buggy false capital ship recl ;-;
I operate solely on what's delivered. 🙂
On the way can mean tommorow or 2 years or never
We will see
i still want my large ship thou T^T
i hope one comes out IAE and is just a surprise
all the other jobs got a whole slew of em
I'll get a Fortune once they are for sale in game if it's cheaper than a vulture
Well I still might get one. I'm pretty lazy I like to just fill up the ship and go home
I play for like an hour and then I'm done
i got one cause its a salvo
ima get the new salvos as well once they come out
im just upset on how they are handeling SoD rn for salvo
we just finished up a fight event so there should be a plethora of ship to eat up
Lots of them abandoned around ground poi
I wish it was easier to take them. Too much stuff locked out if you don't own it still
yea
How is ICE rare in space?
fr
are people still hauling like they did before manual loading became a thing, i have a c2 and wondering if missions or commodity trading is the way to go
People still do, when it's working
There is auto-loading for trading, missions are full manual
oh fair cool ill give it a go and see what i find
Is ice getting harder to find for mining? did CIG nerf it or its not respawning?
just got a prospector. whats the best laser, material, and place to sell?
Did they fix the refinery jobs so they go into the Freight cargo in 4.1?
they are working on mining in 4.1 though (hand and vehicle anyway), so it's possible changes to ship mining are coming soon.
The mining bag stacking is getting silly now, the mole can be made to Carry 192SCU
CIG need to fix that
they shouldn't have put extra snap points in there if they didn't want people snapping things to them 🤷♂️
true but Thats CIG
it does seem like they are working towards enabling bags to be ferried by cargo ship. I mean the ships didn't have those collapsed extra bags before this patch did they?
I cannot get my hull c to work no matter what i do i enter the box and it just wont load the cargo
anybody got tips?
Hull c is always broken
ok, so I haven't done any mining in forever
what components should I be looking at to get some Ice mining done?
helix 1 + 2x focus 3's seems like a good way to go about it?
Hoping someone can explain this to me.
The weevil eggs are in the station storage, yet there's still an unload time and instead of (17.5x51) 892.5K they're only paying me 332.6K for them.
Is ICE only in Pyro?
Not all clusters may have ice, but it is in at least some of them. Also, it's possible a cluster might have ice, but it was mined by someone else.
oke I'm about to transfer a ton of previous refined stuff from my refinery to my c2
I've spawned it from the ASOP
now I'm in my hangar the c2 spawned correctly (weirdly enough)
I have now stored it and the animation is finished
I'll now go to the refinery and take the ores to my c2 then I'll go back to my hangar and retrieve it from there
is that the correct way to avoid the c2 clipping and make me lose 26mil credits?
any work around with the mining station constantly saying processing your request?
Relog 🤷 or just ignore the message and keep using the terminal
ill try reloging it wont let me accept my done task
You should be more concerned about the cargo being totally unable to be unsnapped. Best is to fresh claim the ship to avoid that.
yea this is all its doing
Your cat is stored or in hangar ?
Did you manage to get your completed work orders out? Mine is doing the same thing 😦
nope lol i gave up for tonight
stored
Damn, I have like 200scu of corundum coming out in the next 2 hours, was really hoping to do a run tonight to finish off the weekend on a high note 😄
You changed server region too ?
Oh I'll try that. Do I need to pull my ship back up and put it away again after changing region?
Always best if the ship is freshly claimed and not pulled out.
Ahhhh yeah changing from aus to asia servers worked thankyou!
pulled one out into each ship, will go empty them into elevators and go back and do another two 😄
(and then go do more mining while I wait for the rest 😄 )
DAM ill try it out lol
That worked sick
Beautiful 😄
heres to hoping the update wont drop too soon
I have orders for in 140h
itll be nice when they fix the hangars eating ships on delivery. was pretty inconvenient having to purchase 2 reclaimers so i could sacrifice one each time i want to pull the one with cargo.
there's tons
The station is only accepting 19SCU of your eggs. Either the station is basically full or it doesn't buy 32scu crates of eggs.
I can understand why, because in this economy 32 scu of eggs would bankrupt you
does the price of RMC vary? saw a salvaging guide where the price was about 12k/SCU, but I'm getting just 8.5k, should I try selling elsewhere or has the price been lowered globally?
you should turn your rmc in along with cmats for priority missions. you can make aroud 3m per hour at a chill pace. i would never sell rmc at a tdd.
I've been salvaging panels, I don't have cmats
ahh. i thought that got nerfed. what do you normally bring in doing that?
first time selling
this shows who pays what, but its sometimes outdated. https://uexcorp.space/
thanks, very insightful on your part
I'd stash the RMC and see if there's a Reclaimer pilot you can team up with and take payment in cmats
I have so far had 100% success with just pulling the ship, manually storing, and waiting for it to fully store before leaving the hangar.
I've heard multiple reports of it not working, the only thing that I have never see fail is a fresh claim
I haven't needed to do fresh claim on a ship, but have been storing the ship after unloading the order. And it worked for multiple orders put, one by one, onto one ship and then unloaded. I did once encounter the other cargo grid bug, where I pulled the ship out and no cargo was visible, but storing and retrieving again fixed that.
I've not actually encountered the stuck cargo bug myself, so maybe things would be fine without the workarounds, but I haven't tested that. I've used the workarounds since I started refining. (Also not using the Mole double bag trick, which seems like it might fall into exploit territory.)
One other bug I have encountered, and have a fix for, is the Mole showing 0/0 SCU. I took the bags off and put them back on and it was fixed. (And I regret taking a couple collapsed bags off since I couldn't put them back on.)
arrived just in time
Do we think the 4.1 patch is imminent? I thought it would be near the end of the month.
i submitted all my current orders under the assumption that its next week
ferron exchange
I removed the fuel pods from my starfarer gemini and replaced them with three GSX-HP pods. However, I am unable select them in the landing app as an option to fill with fuel when I select the manual option. Are those fuel pods bugged or am I just doing it wrong?
most people are expecting end of the month, plus there's still quite a few issues in 4.1 including a blocker to resolve
so frustrating doing these solar hauling missions watching the fuel you put in just disappear when you cross the server boundaries lol
don't think Imma make it
damn that was close (it deleted half a tank on the way)
is anyone else having a problem with eye strain when using the MPUV rear tractor beam? There is this pronounced occlusion effect along with what appear to be random star or colored asterisk patches, really takes a toll on the eyeballs, and this at 162 FPS. Also makes it almost impossible to see as it appears your camera angle is directly down the axis of the beam. I have tried adjusting the Graphics Settings, but it seems there is no way to turn it off.
Is anyone else having problems with a no rep increase for salvage anymore? I just get stuck with a ton of 5K fee anvil arrow missions which makes my reclaimer worthless and can't seem to ever actually find panels floating around
yep something I reported yonks ago, and gave feedback on.
There's an IC you can contribute to if you like, it's been around a while: https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-114341
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
(not mine)
any other way to find ships for salvaging besides salvage contracts and killing them yourself?
You can check outposts (particularly Pyro) for abandoned ships
eat your own or a friends ships
how do you tell abandoned ships from just landed ships?
what should I be looking at by way of loadout for the prospector?
There's no tag on them if that's what you mean but if it's been left for a while, shields off (especially those that have floated away a bit) I go for
Adagio shows no rep at all for me (it is listed on the rep page, but there is no actual rep displayed for it), but I'm getting 20k missions
Completing a contract usually unlocks the next tier but there's not an actual rep bar I know of.
Personally I do the tar pits cleanup missions (unverified tab) they pay you and you get free salvage, win win
Just make sure you're gone before the feds turn up lol
hm, why is my maxlift not working aboard a salvage
it just makes a click sound and doesn't do anything?
also I can't ready a weapon for some reason?
hm, the maxlift is not working on my own ship either 🤔
I just got an alert that I've performed an illegal tow against myself? 😆
I just got a crimestat for fracturing contracted salvage?
is this a normal thing? first time happening to me
where can i buy the abrade laser for the reclaimer?
Ah okay, yea Im not getting anything at all for increases
is it possible to stack cargo boxes in your personal storage at stations?
like contract cargo is stacked by container size?
dragging boxes on top of each other doesn't seem to work
no there isnt, if you want to get a specific count of each commodity you have you can use the Commodity terminal at the Admin Office.
any reason I can't sell these to Orison?
is there a way to rebind the "R" for rotate in tractor beams? I can't find a binding for that action
They don't buy them.
Those are bought at planetary services, on the other platform
So I have been doing vaughn missions for a few weeks now, but I want to get into mining. I have 42mil and 2 accounts on 2 different PC's, what are my options?
UEX can tell you where to sell them,
https://uexcorp.space/
usually TDD or CBD
but most ***-L# admin locations take em too
i.e. HUR-L4 or ARC-L1
Can someone tell me what to do when iam stuck at Precessing your Request?
its on there for a couple of days... but i would like to collect my complete orders
Relog, change server region until it works.
Is there any use to distortion weapons for salvage?
Maybe like one suckerpunch and one laser repeater so I can kill an abandond ships shield?
Or is it better to just go double laser
Best you stick with lasers, and if you need to power down a ship's shields, shoot a door/ramp open, get in, power it down.
^^^
dont you have to shoot through the shields first
so if I wanna strip a large ship my two s1s will take forever lol
I guess I'm a certified miner now, not even once it tapped into red
Ehh throw a few rockets at it
You could use a ballistic fps weapon.
Looking for a place to sale Glacosite (gem stone). Any help will be much appreciated.
Hi
Where can you find a lot of stones with ICE for mining in PYRO?
is there any way to jettison leftover rmc/cmat from vulture's depot?
unfortunately, no
and every salvo feels this hard
you could claim it.
how?
oh you mean the entire ship
yeah, figured that already, I was hoping for something less drastic, but lots of problems turn out to be only solvable by blowing shit up
Or just dw about it.
A bit of CM left in the hopper while you're panel scraping means you get 1SCU less out of a run
So what, 35SCU instead of 36?
Not earth-shattering.
new to game would like to start hauling wondering whats the best way to make money i have the nomad ship
I've been doing plenty of hauling in a rented Taurus
until you can buy something bigger than that, it's probably better to rent
hey - whats the best mining laser head if your an exppert in mining
I suggest you do the direct hauling contracts with said Nomad it's a good way to get used to the game. Build up your credits then in a few months the rental ships can be used. Or you can buy your own cargo but that puts your money at risk.
can i do the double pods glitch on the prospector aswell?
Hello, anyone want to help crew a reclaimer?
To add a bit to what @vestal ravine said. Go up to the space station above whatever city you have as your spawn. Take the small Rookie contracts to deliver back to the city. You can accept multiple at the same time. With the Nomad you could accept 2-3 depending on their size and have it all fit on the grid. Each one is 50K UEC so 100-150K per run.
Any recommended fittings for a stock Vulture and someone who has ZERO exp with salvaging lol
Is copper, ice and other resource spawn shared between different servers?
buy another Abrade
Carry one Abrade on each arm only, don't use any of the other salvage heads (e.g. cinch, trawler)
A tractor on one arm can be convenient
Make sure you have a multi-tool with tractor attachment on you so that you can pull boxes out of the hopper
The "auto-eject" button is a bit finnicky, sometimes you ahve to tap it a few times
For learning the basics, head out into somewhere with asteroids, swap into the scanning operator mode, and start pinging. Any signal response divisible by 2000 is hull panels that you can strip RMC from.
What should i upgrade parts on the reclaimer ?
yes its shared, if you sit at 1 station there is a good chance you can buy about 8-16 scu in an hour, but sometimes people will snatch it up
Hi all, just lost my Member rank after completing a re-evaluation mission. Trying to make sense out of it, could anybody explain ?
Did you click the Submit button ?
Nope, I completed the task I was asked to do. Should I have clicked submit instead?
No, submit is in case you can only deliver part of the cargo, to limit loss rep compared to abandon option
No clue why you lost rep after completion
There is no best mining head, but the head that allows you to usually break the biggest rocks is the Helix
You can’t do the clip glitch on the prospector but you can switch the prospector bags with the mole bags and you’ll get more cargo space
Can’t remember how much I think normal prospector is 32SCUs the upgraded one is 48??
Thanks for the response. I got the helix 2 on the mule but there are some stones which i cannot break. So is there nothing i can do about it
Yes you can. People upped their prosps to 80 and 96 SCUs
Oh rly? Didn’t know that sorry
There are always rocks you can't break alone.
Hell, some rocks require three full crewed MOLE
Passive/Active modules, using a Sabir on the rock to decrease rock’s resistance mine in a crew
Yeah i packed the argo mole sacks on the prospect, then stored m ship and took it bag out. I got the argo bags and the misc pods stack on each other and i achieved 90 scu
But if it’s too big you’ll probably just need more people with you
Ah so it does require more people. I was not quite sure
Well that explains a lot
Thank you very much guys!
Mining in a Stanton Lagrange point, I haven't yet came across a rock I cannot mine with Helix[2xRieger-C3 + Surge] and Sabir
45k mass is about the biggest I saw.
Surely I'll find a 70-80k rock at some point, and I have no doubt I won't be able to do shit to it
Is the ROC workflow for selling gems stable in PU right now? Just a case of getting them into the root of the warehouse?
Carrack cargo bay works fine right? Cause I've read on reddit you can't take stuff out
You need to take thing out from the bottom.
Carrack grid stacks 4 SCU high but the opening is smaller than that

Anyway to avoid the ATLS kill bug?
seems OK if you stay away from walls
the problem with the carrack is loading/unloading. It'll take you twice as long as almost any other ship just trying to get the shit to fit through the bay doors
So far it hasn't killed me this patch so I think if it does it is very rare.
I havent had the issue before but had it happen twice in the same day
dont summon it in hangar summon it on ground locations
the small pads that dont move
works 100% of the time
but you need to haul the atlas somewhere
Yeah its fine the first time but then i fly somewhere and try use it again and thats when it kills me
Hi all, would you say that salvage is still worth it ?
@narrow kettle hey where should i mine for tin? 😮
Rn? Imo no not really, cog nerved salvo way to hard to make a profit off normal contracts, it's practically forcing a salvo to do SoD
Maybe after the event is done and CIG reverts their nerf to it
Or munch your own ships with a friend
Only worth rn
Again in my honest opinion
so you ARE the aaron in the shard I am on
Try adir, I personally go to bloom, because it's closer to a refinery - but Adir has the "highest" probability of tin with 35%, Bloom only has 22%
my response was "do you like dino nuggies" when u asked lmao

Anyone been to Fuego for Hadanite ROC sessions? If so, is it fairly evenly distributed across the planet, or are there specific areas?
thats why i was pestering you for tin lmao
shakin you down, holding you at dino nug point
oh I didnt even realized
but yeah, try adir or bloom - I was more happy with bloom
word, i will start at bloom cuz its pretty and i have my ships at orbit soon to be starlight once i fly back to pyro
I have a mole if you are interested
thank you, but i just bought a prospector in game for this exact purpose ;D
got it all kitted out
ice breaker paint looks nice
@vivid river thanks for your answer, that's exactly what I was looking for
I'm willing to explore the gameplay a little bit just to broaden my horizons
Thanks again !
Salvage is fun if you go looking for abandoned ships which you can find around many outposts, if Pyro you need to keep your wits about you.
Salvaging panels is incredibly boring and I wouldn't recommend it unless you absolutely have to grind safe money.
I prefer commodity trading to make money, it's as risky as you make it and you can make decent money running cargo of your choice to locations of your choice and see the systems a bit while you're at it
Is the catarpillar any good as a cargo ship
