oh lovely
ah so good timing. congrats π
lost my atls but got a C8 for free with the 4.0.1
@molten falcon did you have to do the LVM "hokey pokey" when switching your ore bags.. take an item off, put an item on, recall/store/ turn yourself around and sacrifice a virgin
Some players print 12 refill buffer unload the 12 into space print the others and reverse load with the back area mostly empty. Easier to get to 39.
I can't be bothered with all that messing around. For me it is just easier and quicker to fit 21 in back and 13 in the buffer.
I just load 27 in a Fortune without even leaving pilot seat and call it a win
Tractor beam only touches boxes to place those on freight elevator
You can unload the buffer without getting up to press the buttons?
You can't, but you need to do it just once
You load 12 on grid, then fill printer stations and buffer
Go to station and unload
Onle you empty grid - go and push "eject" button on printers once
Silly. Fair enough. Iβm tempted, but the loss of a head makes me hesitant.
And just wait for buffer to be printed
Anyone have issues when stacking Hauling missions that one of them won't display as completed?
I had that back in 4.0. Usually it happened with mission to deliver same commodity
I heard you can see mass of rocks from the mole pilot seat now?
it was added while ago
you have access to mining mode, just no actual mining gear
*you used to have
did not touched Mole after MFD/UI rework
bags do not remain if you have to claim/deliverable your ship
and in this buggyass game claiming is inevitable
well, it worked for me
maybe because I was on a server with only 86 ppl on the shard
will need to try it again during the weekend rush
it was weird. summoned my ship after dropping off a load at arc-l4 went to get in the ship and died standing on the pad. woke up in lorville and the ship was status "deliverable".. so delivered it and called it up. Misc bags.
Not gonna get mole bags again lost too many to landing pad glitches
Sucks, I actually like the prospector with the large bags. The little misc ones are barely worth the back and forth
Save the whale!
Please keep the IC reports to the dedicated channels.
Do not ask for upvotes anywhere else on the discord, rule 5.
Sorry I thought I would post it here to encourage more people to report issues where they're helpful to be seen. Most players I run into have no idea about the issue council. My apologies.
I also didn't see the IC channel in the Discord until now, thanks for pointing that out.
Yeah, we want the IC reports to be centralized in one spot to better bring attention to them and not clutter the other channels with people asking for contributions.
anyone tried the hull c this patch? i wanted to use it but last time it would only unload 1 crate then say comeplted transfer
Bad news
Multiple major bugs still ongoing
Lyria still a good place to mine?
consistency, i like it π
how do I aquire cargo modules for the retalliator?
Omega Pro in New Babbage, costs 450k auec
does trading with hull c work?
I haven't tried myself, but everything I have been seeing in comments is that no, it isn't working well.
yep misc bags are back now
man had a great time doing trade runs with Hull C in 4.0.1 now im waiting for demand so i can sellπ’
Im hauling meds but the crates are invisible. I try to sell them but it gives me an error, any workaround?
were you trying to autoload?
yep
ouch i heard autoloading is unreliable as in it can eat your cargo whole or part of it
hot tip, dont do that, it's hit or miss and it only does whats on the grid
it was autounload, all of the cargo is on grids
to make sure your cargo is actually sellable and you get paid gotta unload into freight elevator
its invisible
irony when autoload is unreliable hull Cs one works
autounload/autoload has been jank as far as i can remeber it being a thing
can i do anything about the thing?
make the boxes visible somehow
the console says they are still inside c2
not sure, could try seeing if tractoring them makes em start popping in instead of invisible crates
man nothing better than station having no demand and im here with full Hull C
i have got them working somewhat by selling them with the console but unclicking autoload
honestly don't think I could have gotten another box in lol (there's already a 1scu box in the cockpit/hall) LOL (2x missions so around 120scu total)
anyone experiencing npc hostile on salvage clean up coming wayyyyyy before the timer ?
ok enough Hull C fun for me to many close calls with near station collisions
a few times in 22.1 but not since then, then again i dont salvage as uch as i did in 22.1 cause at that point reclaimer was billionaire maker printing millions worth of cmat before they adjusted pricing
lol all that effort and only one of the missions completed π
anyone else not able to refeul vulture quantum fuel? it says it is refueled then just cuts to 5% feul and now im stranded with full load
known issue, the fuel state isn't saved between DGS changes so it reverts to old levels and you get stranded. Cost me 3 hauling missions, I already contributed to the IC which is under investigation.
Sticking to local jobs at the moment
is this on all ships or just vulture?
Can occur with any ship
ok thanks for info
no probs, it's not 100%
imma just stick with my high qt feul ships
yeah very good idea for now!
if you're working in a ship that's going to need a refil stay local!
just gonna take the taurus out for local bounties
then i retreive my vulture and it gets destroyed losing all my salvage π
Well take 2 on picking up a refinery order. Couldn't get out of hab this morning, no elevator
Nope, still no elevator. Game is unplayable
Guess I'll try hotfix
SNAFU
Yeah worth trying the hotfix there are some fixes and if you're on a hotfix server you can get client mismatch issues.
Well it's unplayable otherwise so might as well.
I don't really understand how a local hot fix makes the elevators work though
They should just put in antigravity tube's so you can just float up or down
Ok hotfix got me to hangar
10 min wait for hangar queue
Went to refinery, output job to ship, went to ship, nothing there. Oh well
Ima go play something else
My experience up to them dropping 4.0.1 onto live was very positive. Since then I can't even leave the login bed apartment in NB because I can't step into the elevator. It was really one of the later hotfix patches that tried to address it, but made it worse.
It's been a very rough experience. I'm playing AC instead if I'm in at all.
Hah inteied to play the pirate one recently and couldn't get past the ubisoft launcher. Refunded
how long does it take for commodities to update?
Instructions Unclear, shield generator gaurds elevator now.
i was trying to put it in manually because it wasn't working when i equipped it in the loadout mngr
full power to sheilds, but it never charged. then i blew my ship up because i thought i might find it in the wreckage, but i got stuck in the ladder chute when the door didn't open and i couldn't jump out. so now i'm on my way to everus to see if i can get that hangar back and look for it.
too much trouble for a component that might just be busted?
What else is there to do?
lol, true. well for one thing, not get stuck at grim trying to buy another one.
or NB
just an FYI, don't drop an ATLS on yourself.
Hey guys, I was told ROC mining is good, I only have my starter ship and some money to my name (around 100k) how do I do that mining (with a rented ship ofc) and where do I accept a mission or something for that?
there are no missions for ROC mining,, you just go to a planet and scan for gems
Is it lucrative?
decent, I haven't done it in a while but I liked it when I did
Is there something better?
hauling missions pretty good if you have ship that can do that
if you look in the pinned messages in the mining channel here theres some guides for it
or you can always rent cargo ship and do that
That sounds like a good idea
I saw that the cargo mission that I see are 9SCU so which ship would you recommend?
Cutlass Black is pretty cheap to rent and can chain like 5 basic missions
Is that a Barbican to replace the Stronghold?
That's a bit much cargo space as there is only one cargo mission offered to me
there gonna open more once you finish firts one
once you do the first one a whole bunch will show up
Oh damn
go to everus harbor's cargo centre you can rent it there. I think that's the NB station
tressler
ah right.. go there, the cargo centre or refinery will have a rental kiosk
what is your current ship?
~50k for 1 day
!itemfinder
Use the website to search for any item (and where to obtain them) in-game.
Aurora MR
ah,, yeah you'll need to rent something then
How do I collect the shipment that I am supposed to deliver somewhere
In the hanger, you go over to the cargo elevator, send it down to the warehouse, move the cargo over, then bring the elevator up
Then you need a tractor beam to move it from the elevator onto your ship
man bringing full Hull C to Seraphim station is literaly tempting fate
Where is the best place for hauling contracts?
I played back in 3.18 and all I did was bounties, I want a change
Anywhere in Stanton? Pyro hauling contracts will often go to outposts with pvp players and require 4 SCU minimum, last time I looked. Stanton is "safer" but also offers smaller cargo sizes more consistently. So depends on what you want.
If there's a "better" place in Stanton, I don't know, but chaining multiple missions seems possible everywhere I tried.
Okay thanks
That being said, Pyro hauling contracts with the threat of dying to players is quite fun and exciting.
Hurston or Microtech as you have the option of contracts to and from the distribution centers
Okay I'll do my assessment here at crusader then head to one of those
Better to go to those for local deliveries vs outposts as they have 4 or 6 freight elevators outside plus 2 hangars and outposts often have issues with theirs
Whilst ranking up you can stay at Crusader and stack the missions from Seraphim to Orison 50k each up to 6 at a time if you have space
I'm just glad hauling can be lucrative. I love bounty hunting but back in 3.18 it was that or bust.
I'm planning to rent a hull a for now
My Titan can't haul shit
im trying to make alot of money so i can buy a cat, or a hull c or a c2 idk which i just want alot of cargo space so i can make more money, i can rent the taurus, which i think is the largest rentable scu storage, i learned yesterday that im too late to do those xenothreat missions, so what do i do to make good money?
Is there any kind of auto load? Or is it all manual loading?
For missions only manually loading
Gotcha. Thanks
Dang it I can't get my cargo rack to retract
Is there a hotkey for that
Or does it stay out while I deliver?
so, ught, you cant take cargo or components from L-station salvage missions because handheld tractor just doesnt work
oh well
That would make more sense honestly
Did you try the rifle tractor?
There's a stronger rifle style one
You tried to access via inventory and drag and drop into your hands?
Or, you could hold it but couldn't fire?
whats my main considerations when it comes to freelancer vs hull series
Hulls are one trick pony only good for cargo
I keep getting the QT bug. Can't select any target unless I have a mission
Have to relog to fix it
that sounds about right. i was just trying to plot out what ships i wanted to grab, was thinking picking up a freelancer might be fun
but if i wanted to go cargomaxxing go hull... got it
on a side note how hard is mining nowadays
in the past i did mining for quant for that consistent income, but i remember a while back they made other non-quant actually give good profits?
so thats why i ask, how much "planning" does it take to go mining, or can i just kit for one ore type and go off on it
platinum bays have RMC commodity terminals in them but they don't ever seem to sell the RMC. is that normal?
what item do i need to get for the basic hauling quests?
Multi tool with tractor beam attachment and ship that can carry 6scu of cargo. A lot of missions are 8-10scu so a ship that can accommodate is better. The smallest I'd recommend is the Avenger Titan, for stacking multiple missions the Hull A is perfect (you can rent it)
Multitool is something sold separate?
i just found the tracktor beam attachment
Yes you can buy at the cargo deck on the 4 main Stations
Yes you need both the tool and the attachment
Drag the attachment onto the equipped tool at the item bank
There's also medical, mining and salvage attachments for other tasks, hence multitool
There's also a cutting tool but I don't know if that works yet!
how does one charge this tool?
Basically all you need is a Prospector or Mole and you're good to go. I've assumed you meant ship mining and not hand or ROC mining. However there are various mining heads and attachments you can add/upgrade. In the pinned messages there are some pretty decent charts to help you decide what to fit.
Once you equip the attachment then it is good to go. No charging required.
First rule is never risk more than you're willing to lose because buying and selling cargo is a risky business. If your ship goes boom or you get hit by a bug then your money is usually gone. Personally right now I would say look for routes between stations and/or cities. Freight elevators at outposts on moons are hit or miss on whether or not they will work. Look for something trading Methane or Hephaestanite are two that come to mind immediately. SC Trade Tools and Uexcrop are two very helpful sites.
My tutorial got stolen by the game so i dont have the money for renting
And now i cant even get my ship......
Its one bug after another with this game
Using the vulture and scraping feels off
Gimballed mode is not tracking tight and itβs like resisting me
Seems slow and sluggish not sure why just doesnβt feel normal
ship mining yeah i just wasn't sure what to mine yknow
Quantainium is extremely rare but extremely profitable if you find one and can crack it. Bexalite, Gold and Taranite are the next best. There are two new ores in Pyro Riccite and something else I can't remember that I think are up there with Gold etc. Some people only go for the top tier and others mine whatever they can. That part is personal choice.
I could be wrong on this but I think any ore can spawn anywhere with the exception of the two new Pyro ores that only spawn in Pyro.
I found a 111scu asteroid with 47% of quant
Couldnt mine it tho
Calling out for help -especially for something like that- will often bring some willing volunteers
Did they reduce the mobility of the vultures salvage heads?
They seem to have less range left right up and down and are also a lil slower and clunky
I asked multiple times
No one was willing
You need to get into more mining discords then
for a shot at roughly 1.1 million share, somebody might be interest
ed
so what would be quicker for money, vulture salvage missions or commodity in the taurus?
Just unlocked the Senior Rank - I forgot the missions were such a ball ache lol
Honestly you're better off stacking 6 Rookie missions from LEO-LZ π
An scu relates to a ton right? Like a container that says 4.3t is 4.3 scu?
SCU is the size but weight can vary based on what you're carrying
Dang it I had cargo just go missing from the elevator
A whole contract wasted on 2 missing scu of goods
I've had about 20 or so missions like that on my journey, each one is a slap in the face but we keep moving forward LOL
if you deliver all but a few SCU it's safe to submit the mission for part pay but make sure it shows delivered for the items you did send down else you can lose a lot of rep if 0 was actually showing
I had one just now, 300scu I missed one box, 8scu but I was able to submit it with the 292
I didn't know you can partial submit
here's an example, as long as it shows them as delivered to the warehouse
never ever submit if it shows 0 delivered! Never!
It can put you right back to 0 rep π
You have been warned
so now cmat in reclaimer worth absolutly nothing
Can you empty low-value ores from mining bins?
Or no way other than refining/selling
Correct, no other way than refining/selling.
What's the goal for a cargo hauling mission ship?
What do you mean goal? Like what ship should you get for cargo missions?
Haven't mined or salvaged in pyro before, what locations do people use to do mining and salvaging there?
I see vultures friggin everywhere in Pyro
Not sure about mining though
Yeah what locations are good for panels in pyro?
I would assume any RAB locations
I know stanton it's like arc l1 and stuff but I have no idea with pyro
Rabs, are they like the arc l1 equivalent?
Like what is the ultimate cargo hauling ship? Im renting a Hull A right now. I mean that can be bought in game as well
Hercules is really good
If you want smaller then I would recommendTaurus
Okay so maybe I go Taurus first, then the hercules
I just want more space than the hull a has
You can also rent the Freelancers to test, but the Taurus is definitely a favorite of many.
I had an Andromeda back in 3.18. I like the Constellation
Gotta love exploding for no reason with a full load of cargo
Getting real tired of buying tractor beams
Hull C 1.6mil profit for trade run its fun expecialy when fully loaded Hull C handles like a house
Is the nomad good for seraphim to crusader hauling? If so, how much would that make me per hour roughly?
Same question if i get the black instead?
Is the MSR decent or hauling and cargo missions? I love the look of that beefy thing
It has a spacious cargo bay
Yes expecialy for trading if you trade in high value cargo
anyone know why the zeus cl is no longer buyable on the website?
time limited sale ship
gonna return at some point, but for limited time again
ah thnx for the info
unless CIG decide to make it always available
Man trusted SC trade tools now im waiting for demand to sell my cargo
`eh how come i cannot deliver my cargo? it wernt down the cargo elevator
whats the senior direct interstellar one like?
Hull C, good when it works which is like 33% of the time
ah sorry, i meant payout!
There's no senior direct or local
well Hull C only had 1 small issue for me otherwise it works for trading
I finally found a mis-match between my mining laser power chart and results in the game, but I think the game may actually be calculating things incorrectly. Check this out. The rock below showed 38% resistance when I approached it. As soon as I hit it with the laser (Helix 1) it dropped to 27%. 38 x .7 = 27, so that's the 30% resistance reduction that you get from the Helix. OK, so far so good.
the weirdness comes in when you look at my power chart. At 27% resistance, I should just barely be able to crack a rock with 15444 mass (maybe). I was in fact able to crack this rock. The thing is though, the chart takes into account that 30% resistance reduction already, so we should be looking at the 38% column on the chart, which means we would be closer to 13.7k maximum mass crackable. It's like the game is applying the resistance reduction twice.
I go to anything marked as a 'cluster'.. I assume RABs will work as well but I figure since there's a base there might be more traffic in those locations.
oops must have been scrolled way back
That was my guess tbh, clusters, I'll try clusters and RABS, see which one works best
what are the better ores I should look out for on daymar?
or any good mining planets
idk really, just got into it
Anything ending in Ite
Guys how much SCU ship do you need to make ~500k per hour with hauling missions?
If you remove the refueling pods from a starfarer does it make it lighter and faster to move?
as far as i know Hull C is only ship that has flight performance change depending is it loaded or not
all right, thanks.
how do I get the 200k salvage mission to pop up its not wokring for me on pyro5
HELP
how do i turn in cargo?
on a station
i put it in the freight elevator ?
lets gooo it worked
Not in anyore
damn it
How possible would it be to do solo Heavy fight with a Starfarer, like fighting stuff like Hammerhead
whats the best way to get free slam then/
More of a question for #flight-combat-racing
Bounties
true im grinding out my rep rn
sorry, got lost here
where you at? Pyro?
Nice rock!
it was. Between that and a small one next to it with a little quant in it, I came back with about 20scu of quantanium on that run.
Nice haul!
is the fortune anygood?
Would anyone happen to know how much more profitable mining in Pyro would be
I don't know how profitable it would be, but I know how dangerous it would be. Since mining ships have effectively zero combat capacity, you will have to take your own security and that means sharing the profits, which reduces them considerably.
It could be profitable to gather a very large group (10? 20?) of miners and go there without an escort, as a swarm of bees can chase away a lion... but that is assuming you have that many friends in the game.
Another subject:
Folks, I see that, as I progress in reputation, missions get worse and worse in terms of credits per SCU.
How do I lose reputation very quickly? I want to go back to my 50K credits for 11 SCU. π
i did a 61k for 6 today
Yep! There are many wonderful missions when you are low on rep. Getting them all gives yo a very good profit. π
but i guess it goes down because you get a bigger ship to move more stuff?
i cant buy a hull a yet
I was making 300K a run with it, but rep raised and now it got very much harder.
just moving stuff around with intrepid
So, you are in the beginning. Reap as much as you can from it! π
I started by making those 11 SCU missions in my Cutter. π
i play verry slowly so it will prob take me another month or 2
i made a little less then 200k today
That is very good. π
If you enjoyed it, dont worry too much about the money.
do riger-c3s ever get consumed?
Oh, but the money is very important. With it you can buy other ships for either improving your game experience in hauling or rotatin to another experience. Hauling is a nice way to get credits in the beginning and we should, in my opinion, take advantage of that... but of course, everyone plays as they like. π
for sure, money is progression, and opens up more things. but doing grind to grind, if you dont have fun doing so. is a fine way to burn out.
Oh! In that sense, I agree completely! π
I am grinding hauling missions in order to set up my mining game cycle. I don't like mining and don't intend to keep doing it, but it's necessary for prepping things and that makes it fun. π
...so, in the end, I'm doing it for fun.
is everyone else's self-status and sheild MFD in the prospector broken, or just me?
well, when a rock blows up in my face.. good to see if the ship is all red
and that the sheilds are up since the power kinda does what it wants currently
but to the question, yeah it's broken for everyone or just me?
it is broken for Fortune so I'm not surpriced it is broken for Prospector too
what do you think of the fortune, compared to the vulture?
I absolutely hated Vulture but absolutely love Fortune
yes, you are slower at scraping, but you are saved from junky cargo hold tetris and leave pilot seat only in a hangar to unload cargo
27 SCU with no box moving other than into cargo elevator is win for me
can you load it with as much rmc as you could with the vulture?
if you bother about loading cargo internally you could possibly load even more
my approach is "ease of operation"
12 SCU on grid, 2 SCU in printers, 13 SCU in buffer
that's a big plus. Hard to give up duel abrades but man I hate flying the vulture
Ima get the fortune now while itβs still on lti
When had the vulture I hated climbing up and down
Yeah it be like that
how much does the internal hold?
Scu wise
No idea, never bothered to test. 4 SCU grid and alot of offgrid
But IMO, if you plan to load Fortune internally - you probably should just stay with Vulture
oh ok
i got rid of my vulture for the ironclad but ill figure something out
i currently have a star lancer max any suggestions on what to upgrade it to?
Nothing, keep the starlancer lol
Do I have to be in Pyro to grab the contracts for the next step of Save Stanton or whatever it's called?
Oh, only one faction has a hauling contract?
Yes, and you must be near a planet or station for them to show up. Citizens for Pyro offer the delivery missions.
MOLE continues to be absolutely stupid with its bridge lighting
i haven't mined since 3.17 anyone got time to show me the rope again? goal is quant if that is ok
it's basically the same afaik, they rarely touch mining, theres some pinned posts to help you figure out ^ if you have any questions feel free to ask
basics you'll need is a prospector or if you're doing gem mining a roc or multitool with mining attachment, prospector can be rented from any refinery (usually a L station like cru L1 or arc L5). the sheets cover most of the depth stuff like gadgets but theres a few loose ones from mebers here that are helpful too, other than that alt + left click to change modes (mining/extraction) after pressing m and alt + scrollwheel to adjust your laser power
whats the best way to manage a "cargo removal failed, items pending transfer"
i could try to retrieve the ship and manually unload it but im worried that it will blow up on the pad (I lost like 1mil in cargo the last time I tried to retrieve my cargo ship)
anyone found a workaround for the prospector bags not actually emptying? everytime i retreive it, the bags are full and its the same ore i just submitted - have tried pulling the bags off and putting them on again, but only fix so far seems to be abandoning the ship and claiming it again.
its less fun with quant in your bags, as you can drop the load off at the refinery and the countdown continues π¦
there were a bunch of IC's that i found and contributed to for it, but all are 403'ing now so suspect CIG are scrubbing them given that it's basically an infinite ore dupe exploit, but would be good to find a workaraound that isn't a 9min claim time
manually storing before leaving the hangar i think fixed it?
anyone know the best comody to buy / sell right now i cant get a clear answer.
how do i stack hauling missions? im at seraphim and rented out a nomad. i only have 1 hauling mission to crusader
and how do i collect the shipment? it's inside that tube that i cant get to
Request landing
land
go to freight manager terminal inside the hangar
lower the lift
Move the contracted cargo to the left side (lift side)
raise lift
You only get one if you have never done them before, it's the certification mission
Thank you.
Oh. After i complete these, i get more?
Once you complete the certification mission more should be available to choose from.
Thank you
you want our trading secrets? π
no one will answer you
your best hope is to do your own trading runs / experiments on supply/demand etc. now dynamic pricing is also a thing, outpost/station volumes are also a thing
also best commodities is also dependent on ship sizes
like the best commodities on a 100 scu ship is going to be different from a hull c
use UEX / SC trading tools for some recommended routes.
does the cutty black's tractor beam work?
Just curiouis what yall think, for around the 110 scu range. would you take the freelancer max or the taurus for efficienty?
Yes it does
Taurus all day. Great layout so load/unload is easy, better pilot view, great armament, easily loads vehicles to unlock more play. It's one of the best ships in the game currently.
my homies reasoning would be max is quicker cause you can land it closer to the elevator
Tractor beam is too well placed to sling cargo for the Taurus, though.
i agree!
first time using a refinery; job's finished.
How do I send the commodities to local storage rather than into a ship?
You don't
wtf
dangit
thanks mate
Hey does anyone know why I cant autoload into my Hull C? I thought they fixed that in 4.0?
yea, they broke it yet again
I got it to work ultimately, but am now struggling with landing my ship. It only wants to dock and not be in a landing area
Any miners wanna mine away>
@outer ridge There's only one direct Senior mission otherwise they're all medium solar (a few examples here) and 1 large solar that actually pays less than the medium. So to get thru this rank you're looking at about 60 missions that take 1hr each, I made it half way through in 3.24 but I don't think I have it in me to grind it again to see what Master is like π
Well yesterday trading with hull c worked for me
One Senior Planetary mission at Microtect (will check Hurston later) at least this is a bit better than going round the whole of Stanton
Thank you!
well this is new, caterpiller front bay has an invisble wall and can't load anything in it π¦
well that explains it lol
another useless ship in the fleet
so frustraing I can't get the last of my cargo in
Yeah found the same, also got a vid. If you got a ticket ill upvote it
I'll have a look - ngl SC is really beating me down today
You can definitely load way more if you go off grid
5hrs now not done a single mission
for example max grid size is 26 scu but you can fit a 32 perfectly
with a bit under the stairs
im sure you can fit the last bit in!
I'll just submit it slightly short
alright β€οΈ
actually I can't be bothered lol Alt-F4
it's gonna still take 40 mins to drop it all off and I'm done
IC is fixed so hopefully in the next patch... https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-154435

lol it took 30min for server to pay me for selling cargo
Any tips on stacking cargo? I was under the listed scu limit on my ship, the 10t cubes don't stack. I tried to loosely load them but they just phased through the bottom of my taurus
Specifically for hauling missions. I know you can autoload the commodities
there's a pinned message that has wonderful images of most ships cargo, there's even one for the taurus.
Be warned that the extra cargo hold of the Taurus is honestly kinda worthless. You can use it, but it's a PITA to move crates into it, and it's only 6 SCU.
I'd love to see it used to house a ATLS or something, R2D2 style.
It's just a pain in the ass when everything comes in 10t blocks that don't stack and I'm still well under the limit
Wouldn't be so bad if there was an option to choose the container size rather than having to parse through contracts and eyeball it
nah its right atm pick mission that has cargo that can fit in your ship
any tips for getting cargo out of the bow of the caterpillar? Its doing the thing where you can't tractor things unless you are inside it... but its so full I can't get inside from the inside. I also can't seem to tractor from above (near the front turret entrance). I am going to try ATLS next to see if its tractor can grab the stuff.... The cat's tractors also can't access the bow area either.
Hey guys I'm having some issues with my Hull-C. When I go to unload the cargo it only does like 300 SCU at a time, I have like 2400 SCU of cargo on it and I legit have to make multiple trips back and forth to the loading area just to get my Hull-C emptied.
you sure there is demand for your cargo amount it could be that station has no to little demand ?
i was able to sell 4608SCU in one go
Guess I haven't really thought about that. SC-Trade Tools only gives me like two stations that give such a high profit. I guess Magnus Gateway is pretty full of scrap right now.
you do know every Hull C owner wants to run that 2 trade routes hence supply/demand issues?
Thats fair
Is there any way for me to see a stations capacity on a certain commodity
yes on terminal beside buy tab there is local value tab i belive click it it will tell you how fullfilled demand is
anyways any commodity that offers profit 50 aUEC+ per SCU is good choice for Hull C
Now I read a posting some player got 44 scu in and on the Fortune!
but why
my cargo seems glues to the ship floor lol and multitool is glitching on n of really fast any fix?
Has anyone had issues buying Steel? I got to load it but it just says failed transcation cost mismatch?
For hauling jobs, divide the total SCU of the job by the listed container size, and it'll tell you how many containers of that size you need room for. (Often with a couple smaller containers left over.) Then you can use the pinned cargo grid charts to figure out how many containers of that size the ship can carry. (Taurus, for example, has a 174 SCU capacity, but for 8 SCU containers, it's useful load is only 112 SCU, aka 14 8 SCU containers. And even though 32 SCU * 5 = 160 SCU, the cargo configuration is such that the Taurus can only actually hold 2 32 SCU sized containers, aka 64 SCU. Math can take the guesswork out of loading. π
Yeah don't try steel
@mild pumice Got there too!
Looking at getting rid of my hornet for an andromeda. How good is it for a solo player
constellation ships where amazing for me when I ran solo with a few variations of it.
it's not a dedicated fighter like the hornet, but it sure still has firepower and resilience
I got the hornet when I had a party and was their escort. Everyoneβs moved off this game now so looking at a ship where I can do more for myself
I would say that the constellation is more than plenty for it.
decent cargo capacity, good defence and good offence, has even multicrew capabilites if one would fancy such.
I did love my connie back when I had one (ended up with the phoenix back in the day) before I moved on towards the Carrack that I am making use for pretty much anything (except solo combat... pilots don't get access to any kind of weaponry, only them how control the turrets does)
Which variant would you recommend? I can choose between the andro and the taurus. The Aquila is a little out of my budget
Andromeda would be amazing if you wish to focus on more combat oriented gameplay, the taurus is amazing for cargo hauling to say the very least.
So it is more about your own playstyle.
But the Taurus is still plenty towards npc combat contracts.
If you're just doing PVE, go for the Taurus. You can mount Size 5 Attritions, the Grade A industrial shield, run just one cooler, and you can take on up through ERTs. The ample cargo space allows you to loot Bounties or Vaughn missions for illicit cargo that can make you a ton of money
What is the difference between the roc and roc ds?
ROC DS is a two seater.
With one to drive, and one to mine.
It's quite a lot more stable and enjoyable to drive, and one of the two seats is sealed, so you don't overheat while in it on Aberdeen.
The mining head is also more powerful, but that doesn't do anything because both ROC are only capable of mining their dedicated gem rocks, nothing more or less.
It basically takes two people for the same job, with one burning and the other protected, or solo, having to switch seats
Gothca tyvm for the info!
Not really an industrial convo unless you plan to use the Andy for cargo? In which case I'd suggest the Taurus, cheaper, same pilot weapons minus some S1 missiles, more cargo room, awesome tractor beam turret.
Only reason to go Andromeda over Taurus is if you're crewing it for combat with 2 gunners and an optional snub pilot and in that case I'd take the in-game Phoenix with the PDC for extra damage on nearby light fighters
Another minor note, though still not super relevant, the DS does have like more than 2x the storage of the base.
Anyone need crew for trade runs?
what is the salvage rep tab called
For those who like mining, which do you like better: mining in asteroid belts in space or mining on moons? βοΈ π
Been doing both, and I know that asteroid belts have more of a change of quantanium compared to moons, but I rather have more chances of other ores like taranite, bexalite, etc.
Just curious what other players/miners have been doing/have better chances for higher end ores between the two. π
(Thank you @dusky raven for mentioning this channel, still new to this server and learning)
What is best spot to mine with rented mole
Pyro has some bigger rocks and I saw a streamer mine a rock that was worth 1 million. He used a Mole solo.
Before 4.0 I used to mine in the Yela belt because going to the Aaron Halo was a pain and I considered it to be safer than surface mining, but now with meshing and the amount of players with bounties and salvage jobs there, it probably isn't rare at all to meet people.
I haven't been mining since 4.0, but it feels like Pyro isn't a bad place to go surface mining, and that'd take me on a nice adventure in Pyro's landscapes
I can't wait for RedMonster's updated mining charts for Pyro
do you need to dock with the hull c tro deliver the mission goods (not commodity trading)
yesterday either had bugs or couldnt figure out how to deliver
first you need to dock, get to the commoditie kiosk and sell it there, then you will need to get back to the hull c, un dock from the docking collar to then request docking with cargo (right alt + N), get to that magical space box and unload the cargo there
Ai thanks! probs just had bugs yesterday
well could be that and the hull c has been well... what it is, I have had my moments with that ship as well
I love the ship so much but man never worked well, heard a lot of people that it works decent this patch!
it sure did work very well for me in the 4.o.x patch, just that there where moments with some hickups here and there. But for the most of the time when I flew around and traded commodities with it, it worked most of the time.
Thats good to hear! I love how heavy it feels when flying fully loaded
anyway i could spam the whole chat about the hull c, again, appreciate the help!
oof same issue, select hull c and nothing to "sell"
and on select location it does show hull c but weird with unregistered items

yeah the commodities kiosk needs some more love from cig, it sure is confusing to choose "ship A" but it shows "ship B" and one has to go after them images rather than the text from my own experience.
but with the 4.0 version of the game, stations have changed some and have "saturation" (a certain amount at a time that they can receive cargo up to a certain limit and they might have limits to how large scu containers can be for sale? (I haven't really figured out them tidbits, mostly because I rarely fly around with that hull c and do these things. Mostly cargo haul now a day and might get back to some mining again).
It would be weird cause its mission cargo, not bought!
but yeah, might just return to my trusty caterpiller
and do hauling manually
ah mission cargo?
never done it with the Hull C, always gone with ships like C2 or Carrack for that, just so that I can unload it manually into them hangar cargo lifts (they at least tend to work
)
hey so i wanna do prospecting but idk how to set up a prospector
I would usually go with the Helix mining laser head and have double Reiger C3 to be able to mine as many kinds of rocks as possible (now that they finally stack once more).
Usually had to do a Reiger C3 + Surge combo, but if one feels spicy enough and want to go after even bigger and tougher ones, go double surge for maximum output. (that is if one is comfortable with active modules for the laser)
Don't forget to make use of them mining gadgets, can come in handy
you can cycle modes with the middle mouse button till you get to the scan one (usually just the very next one) and scroll with the mouse wheel to get the bar covered ass much ass possible and then with tab.
When you get within around ~100 meters of an asteroid / rock you can swap over to the mining mode to scan it's contents and swap back to the scanning mode to get it on the MFD (the info displayed)
is it those unknown signals everywhere
yep, one will learn to read them eventually (they all have values, the higher the better)
OH MY GOSH THATS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE
i was going up to random ones and poking em
like gimme your secrets
tyty
5 am moment
what materials should i look for? like this one got corundum
Quantanium if you are feeling a notch spicy with stress (usually get 25 min from mining it to refining / selling it (before your ship blows up)
Beuxalite, Gold, Taranite are the pretty good ones to look for

you cant dump stuff you scooped
thats how it works
you fracture and then scoop the most valuable parts to reduce amount of inert materials/trash
thats tradeoff of high tier materials
thats what i do in SE, make my miners filter out stuff i dont want which is sick
thats what refinery do
you can filter it when set up refinery order and refine only expensive ore
big miners, like Arrastra and Orion supposed to have own refineries
smaller stuff supposed to work in pair with refinery and/or cargo ship
Don't forgor the Expanse (the show was amazing as well, but I was thinking about the ship) and the Galaxy with the refining module as well
i spent like 30 minutes running around in the wrong scanning mode earlier
can't wait to own an prospector, in a rented one rn cause i wnated to try mining first
I do love me some mining, less so the refining and the commodities hauling (might have been corrupted by my mate who flys a reclaimer
)
me and a buddy did like 6 hours on a reclaimer yesterday
3 am
bounties and cmats
so why does my ship yell at me when i hold the laser to long
the salvage gameplay is the easiest by far, but if you love variation and a lot of different elements incorporated into one, then mining is the go to.
first the mining, then the refining (if you don't sell the raw ore as is)
The refining has a few alternatives depending on time versus profit.
after that comes the hauling and selling of said refined goods (so basically basic cargo hauling, that can be automated compared to cargo hauling missions)
its easiest but too meditative
good when you tired of IRL stuff and just chill powerwash with music on
but there's no alot of gameplay behind it rn
mining is more refined and gameplay intensive
im halfway full and i only got 2.8 scus of taranite and 1.25 of gold
feel like that aint great
I used the vulture to buy a prospector. Using the prospector to buy a Mole. Then I'll use the MOLE to build my fleet
could just use Prospector further
Quick easy money but boring as hell
Fortune ftw
idk why ye wouldnt skip the vuluture in that process
I literally fall asleep scraping panels
I bought it with rl cash. I think it was cheaper than the prospector? Figured it would be a good starter for game wipes.
Yeah you need a helix 1, reiger 3 module and I use a surge plus a sabir gadget to break big rocks
Stampede not surge. I need to get some sirges
i got the rented prospector so im a bit outta luck for now
you can still change those using tractor beam
it just wont be saved on claim
i dont trust SC enough to do that
That helix is like 100k too. Hurts to loose
Nah
I only go for taranite and quant
Good practice π
back in a days when I mined alot, I prefered quantity over quality
tier2 is good to go, tier1 is amazing addition, quant is jackpot
you waste too much time on scouting for t1
and cracks are not perfect so you scoop more trash
No idea what any of that means
I brought a refined load of taranite yesterday for 1.5mil. Was very satisfying
laranite is still ~3k per SCU
That's a little outdated. Taranite is king now, under quant
more than cmats
i did 2k scus of cmats today
made like 3.7m
or smth idk
but i was 1 of 2 guys
any ideas on salvage stuff for a vulture, just bought one in game
get Abrades, salvage panels
thats it

salvage panels RS signature is always 2000 x N, where N - amount of panels on spot
biggest I've seen - 20k
Dark mode Orison, when?
it's like a frickin flashbang, especially during the day time

Afaik nah, ik you can find abrade modules at area 18 retail -> dumper depot and Cru L1 -> refinery or the platinum bay in the Galleria
https://finder.cstone.space/ShipSalvageMods1/98e0e5ac-3a76-4f3f-be2f-7fabf65a8826 here's every spot you can buy them from
did find them in Everus Harbor, so we all Gucci owo
(am here mostly because I am partially waiting for the next fun phase and to haul cargo till I max rank that stuff owo
36k for me
Were part of a reclaimer crew
Each of us got 550k
1.65mil with the org getting around 400k
if only miners had access to a tiny lil contender like the adorable and cute lil Orion
salvage sure feels like the games current easy money maker by a landslide, currently I can get about ~1 mil per cargo hauling run
If you do CMATS then you can easily make a million with a hour or so of work
Follow someone doing bounties
Tried to autoload into a stored hull a. Terminal showed loading. Called ship. No cargo
Oh well
We made 2.1m in 2 hours then 30 minutes of unloading. Then another 1.6m in 3 hours but we had several hiccups
One barely crewed reclaimer
I was solo on the reclaimer for the 1.6
We sold at loreville both times
Ah the days when cmat was 15k. That was like a good rush
Just you sacrifice your sanity to unload 1k scus
Hammerhead missions....
Out of the reclaimer
And now my spindle won't open
you building a tower?
tower stacking comes included with the job
yes this looks fun
Are you Auto unloading or manually getting the boxes out of the recliner.
I had trouble fitting them out the door
usually i manually unload, those 2 pics are from before autoload/unload was a thing so we still had telporting cargo that would just appear and disappear from the grid
My reclaimer got wiped in 40 but I hadn't used it since cargo change since it wasn't designed right for that and auto wasn't working properly anyway
It'll be a while before I earn enough to get one again
Especially since elevators aren't working so can't leave seraphim
for a short bit in .24 i was able to do come reclaiming before the 4.0 wipe, it absolutely sucks getting those 16 scu crate through elevator and usually i'd just take the risk and repair bill to clip them out the back of the reclaimer
I sure hope somone is working on a simple ramp
the pain of seeing someone with a reclaimer unloading with the liftiwaitor instead of it's rear end opening xD
If I placed a work order yesterday to refine my materials at one refinery (processed at CRU L1, but I moved to a different refinery (MIC L1), can I gather my work order from a different refinery?
Or do I need to go back to my original refinery to gather the first work order?
original refinery
Is anyone up for giving me a job as a Cargo mover for a reclaimer?
and actually titanium is a really nice one too because it breaks well (clumps) and sells for more than the other low ores. I love to mine in places that have taranite/titanium rocks.
Ok new hotfix, let's see if I can actually get out of the station now
Ok got as far as waiting for hangar to open
10 min wait
no!
Only ships that can dock at all are XL ships.
so 890, polaris, Hull-C... That all?
not sure
HH
Meh I did an auto load commodity trade run last night and it took 12+ minutes to load my C2 with 640SCU and another 5+4 minutes to unload with a 10 minutes wait for demand to restock for a total time of about 45 minutes to make about 400k.
Auto-load/unload should have a slider to speed it up for more cost TBH. Idle time with nothing really possible to fill that time makes the game seem incomplete
I've done autoload twice now for hull a, and it says loading, then no cargo when I retrieve ship
Oh well
That happened to me but one store + retrieve and the cargo was there.
anyone got contract cargo hauling ship recommendations? I tried out the taurus but I wasn't a huge fan of the cargo bay
C2
I do fancy the carrack for my cargo runs
if find the taurus really nice for me with the tractor beams
i just need to do upgades but i dont know what i should put on it cus im prob going to doing bontys
I started cargo hauling missions with the hull A, then upgraded to the RAFT. I started using the Taurus for bounty missions then took it out on some experienced cargo runs and was quite surprised at how well it did. The tractor beam is great for unloading the cargo area quickly.
I upgraded to the C2 now for Senior missions
hmm, maybe I'll give the Taurus a shot again later, maybe it wasn't really the Taurus itself, but the cargo snapping driving me up a wall lol
Reclaimer should be able to imo
of course i find this when im in my miner instead of vulture
finding panels not really a big deal
yeah, you wont be able to salvage it all in one go anyway most likely
reclaimer for something that big
true
I miss those 200k salvage runs
Yeah... Green eggs and SLAM....
YEAH THOSE DEVIAL EGGS
probably a silly idea, but as the Polaris isn't available for sale in game could one tow a vulture with an SRV, use the SRV cargo grid for extra storage, then tow again back to the station?
I note that the SRV has only 12SCU according to spviewer, dunno if it has good offgrid.
I have assumed the vulture doesn't fit in the carrack's hangar
Okay i have this weird issue with my refind goods from mining, everytime i try to transport a haul in my cutless black it doesnt show physically but it does say that my ship is partially full. So i then fly to orison to sell my mined goods, store my cutless black, go to the terminal and try to sell it directly from my cutless and thats saying my ship is a invalid inventory. Am i doing something wrong?
I have been seeing the same, ship comes up "empty". Send it back down and retrieve again and it comes up with the cargo. I have not tried to sell from the ship this patch, manually unloading is generally more reliable though.
Is anyone having trouble salvaging? I get to a panel patch and they show up as 'no target'
Sometimes the names are wrong in the commodity terminal. Check all the other ships and things and see which one looks like your ship
Hello
what should i put on my helix for ym prospector
idk what to do for modules
and what are gadgets
is there a way to put insurance on gear, like armour and stuff
One Focus III and one Rieger C3
one can stack Rieger C3 (have x2) and then supplement with gadgets for the narrow window instead?
Like the Waveshift gadget instead of a Focus module for extra passive power. or one could just go with Surge, heck even double Surge for a lot more temp swift power
it was recently recommended to me to use the c1 spirit instead of the freelancer max. I am failing to see how the c1 would be a better option when im able to fit another 8 (4 scu's) and 6 (2 scu) just in the back of the max without using the middle storage, what am i missing here?
you can load C1 offgrid, walkway is wide enough for 1 more 32 SCU
The tractor beam and off grid space
and then you have free space near the ramp
offgrid as in , not stacking it on the snap spots like in a vulture? how you can add an extra row?
so realistically then, i should be able to fit a row of 4 scu's down the middle then too right?
its def a thought. i have 8 hrs to decide to melt the max for the c1 anyway. i just dont want to hinder money i can make hauling since im taking a break from salvaging
if it ultimately only comes down to the max being able to hold a few more 2 scu boxes then i can see why the c1 would be better off and cheaper
the zeus mk ii cl looks pretty nice too lol
is there a website that i can calculate scu sizes to my ship so i know exactly what i can fit in as a noobie hauler?
not for offgrid
as it depends on how effective you are at loading and what container sizes you load
its just depends on how much personal space you can fill with cargo
if a ship has a side door you could fill the full pathways of a cargo hold because you can use the side door
No such website exists for offgrid, but since there are 5-6 most common ships used for hauling, it's easier to just ask people who have experience with them, or wait for a free fly and test them. Some of them look good on paper, but then you realize that in reality they're a pain for you (bad pilot visibility, too slow, too tight cargo space leading to constant collisions when loading, constant running around when loading, impractical cargo grid shape, etc)
sounds good. i mean im tempted to ditch the max for the c1 anyway even just due to the primitive interactions with it. Half the time, hovering over the cargo doors dont prompt me to open close etc
idk why they havent added mounted controls to every ship
The freelancer is one of the oldest ships in game, and long-overdue requiring polish
its really making me consider melting it when i can in 8 hrs. im just super torn now between c1 or the zeus even
i just dont know how much money i can actually make with 64 scu of space. right now doing 55k missions doesnt seem very profitable with how much time it takes to load unload etc
If you want to stick to hauling, it's better to have a grid - the most profitable way for hauling is to stack smaller contracts with same destinations, and then it helps to be able to create a fixed on-grid stack for each destination. If you want to trade, you need space for as-big-as-possible containers, bcs it greatly saves loading time when you have to stick in only 3 big ones, rather than ~26 to fully load the ship
so if i want to trade, then melting down to the c1 would not be the good idea theoretically. id want to stick with the max or maybe even upgrade to the zeus
or go to c1 and stick to hauls that have 8 scu, 12 scu 32 scu cargo?
bc thats what i did yesterday when i first got the max, i went to area 18 loaded up on 4 contracts that had 8 scu and 4 scu deliveries to one single area and made like 280k off it
but i know thats not going to always be the case
I do small hauling contracts with Zeus ES no issues, offgrid even gives you advantage as you can stack more
C1 is good for trade, you buy 3x32 SCU (or 6x16, if it's outposts that don't sell size 32), and load it quickly. If you'd want to fill your Zeus cargo bay with your purchases, you'd have to buy and load 26+ containers of different sizes.
But if you want to haul contracted cargo, then the Zeus' grid will help keep the stacks organized, whereas in the C1's middle area they'll fall apart.
i assume, once i learn cargo, the overall better choice is to NOT do contracted, and figure out trade routes myself where i invest money and turn for profit correct?
i was going to learn routes myself way back, but that was before they had chances to save cargo with server crashes, and pple were losing millions 8 times a day so i might feel better trying that now with server meshing at least.
Assuming sufficiently bug-free universe, yes
thats why I prefer hauling missions
as you got paid for moving stuff and have no investments
thats what im doing now is hauling missions
so you lose nothing when game freak out
i fell in love with atls, so im stoked to keep using it. ill have to make up my mind in a few hours i suppose
ill just have to learn and be careful with what contracts i can take in the c1 then to make sure i have enough space to stack contracts
Pre-4.0 I've reached Experienced with small hauling contracts, and found that even when stacking all missions with same origin+destinations, you can fit in 120 SCU around mT (with distribution centers).
i assume im not squishing 120 scu into the c1 tho lol
Nah... but you can always buy something bigger in game (I'm flying Taurus, it's not ideal, but closest from the given options)
If I completed a work order at a refinery (example: CRU L1), does it matter where I sell - as in the further I travel to the refinery, the more the value of the ores will be where I sell if I go to either New Babbage or Area18 at their T&D department?
Not necessarily, you can mine anything anywhere (though different places are more likely to spawn different ores), so it's better to just check https://sc-trade.tools/ where the commodity sells best. It can very well be the nearest TDD, or it can be in the other starsystem.
Also one of my work orders did not transfer to my stored cargo hauling ship when I collected it. The work order is no longer at the refinery terminal, but when I went to my ship at the hangar, the refined ore cargo is not in my ship.
Is there another place I need to look? Is this a bug? I'm bummed that I waited to complete this order over 24 hours after mining and now I can't find it π’
it is a bug
I've seen mentions of cargo(not specifically cargo from refinery, just any cargo) disappear
yeah it does, but its not always and two things need to ocure first for this bug to have a chance of appearing: 1.)store your ship 2.)use autoload
yea i might just use the freemax till i make 4 mil so i can try taurus in game
im just tempted to melt it since they havent fixed or done anything to it since it released. and it shows
you can rent Taurus
https://finder.cstone.space/ShipShops1/d1c3fa10-b2d9-421e-8301-97dbf4d0c115
prob a dumb question, but can i stack 8 scu box on top of another safely in the taurus?
idk what the gadgets are
where would i go to mine in stanton?
The size 4 boxes don't stack. But you can stack 1 layer on top of or under the size 4
So the 1x1, 2x1, or 2x2 can all sit on top of or below
"Safely" not. The official cargo grid has height 3, but there's plenty of open space above it. There are missile racks on the sides, but the middle 2 rows can be stacked to height 4
And the middle section of the cargo area can have height 4 across its full width. You can walk around the cargo bay and note where is the machinery hanging from the ceiling
That's unlocked from the grid though right?
What's the best planet/moon to mine on in stanton?
maybe if they adjust commodity prices to incentivize trading, or you have a very large ship. But with small hauling missions pay 5k+ per SCU hauled, there aren't many if any trade routes that can compete as far as I can tell. Not with a smaller ship anyway.
Maybe once the Hull C is reliable.
C2 is okay, you can do pretty well without missions, but you're taking on a lot more risk.
im just stacfking multiple 50k trades between 2 close sites
making about 250k each run its not too bad
Thoughts on the RAFT?
does anyone know if the mining information in pinned messages is still accurate for 4.0?
raft looks amazing but trying to load 4/2/1 scu boxes is terrible
They are mostly still representative of things Sathier, but there are new minerals and some subtle changes. You can find values on uexcorp or sc trade tools
Anything particular you want to know?
Value isn't necessarily what i was looking for, i'm looking for the ore distribution in the various belts and systems.
Like, where can i find Gold most frequently, etc.
I have done a lot of scouting, it's pretty even distribution but for a few minerals in particular. If you are looking to do the best prospector mining currently available, I'd point you to the Terminus belt.
What is out there that makes it so valuable? Quantanium?
Well, it's partly about the distribution - there's quant, taranite, bexalite and gold in high amounts. But it's also about the very easy distance to the Ruin refinery, and the fact Ruin also buys taranite after refining.
That's pretty good.
If you want to hunt for Stileron or Riccite, you're more likely to find it in an asteroid field distal from a planet. But the Terminus belt is absolutely awesome.
Aren't pirates a concern? Like, the NPC ones not players... i know players are a threat.
I have cracked literally a dozen rocks within 50km of *Ruin station and never been attacked.
If you're feeling twitchy, just decouple at max nav mode and drift for 200km
Alright. Any advice for getting to this terminus belt? Is it as simple as going to Terminus and floating or is it like the Aaron Halo from Stanton
nothing so onerous as that. It's literally the belt Ruin Station sits in, around Terminus π
Similar to Yela
Well cool, I'll have to take my prospector over there and give it a try. thanks for the tip my man
Onward and upward! o7
Here's a pic of a recent crack I did with Ruin in the background.
Do you believe it worth refining the ore first?
I got like 76k selling raw ore once. Makes me wonder what it was worth refined.
Hate to be cryptic but.
I mean i don't enjoy bug abusing. I enjoy playing the game. Abusing those kinda unintended things ruins the experience.
This is the way!
I had that on GTA Online. found a big bug that multiplied heist earnings.
By the time i finished exploiting it i had like 2.4 billion dollars.
I bought everything i wanted and then some and I still have like 1.5b.
And now i have very little desire to play because i have no reason to try to make money.
I learned that lesson very well.
If i do find it and can reliably replicate it I'd prefer to report it.
I don't want another eco wipe.
this is gonna drive me crazy
bro that's an insane amount of taranite wtf
There is a ton of quant and taranite out there.
But being able to refine, send to ship, call ship up and just move it right into the cargo elevator? Avoids so much risk and so many bugs.
nice
i just got my prospector i'll have to go over there once i have enough money to refuel
It depends on what you're using it for. I use it for trading between stations and sometimes cities. 3x32 is really quick and easy to load and unload which avoids the added cost and possible bugs of autoloading. I'll buy 3-4 trips worth of goods then just fly between hangars until it's time to sell.
The only thing I bothered to upgrade was the Qdrive. I went with the Hemera for speed and range plus one of the quickest cooldown times.
As for the ship itself it has a great layout and just looks and feels the part. It handles like a beached whale on valium but you get used to that pretty quickly. You're not going to get rich quick but you're also not risking a whole lot per trip. It's one of if not my fave smallish cargo hauler.
I have yet to try auto-loading cargo. No clue how that works but I'm assuming once you get into the hundreds of SCU you consider it?
Would you suggest I wait and save up for a better cargo ship in that case? My fleet is small and I'm slowly building it up (Cutlass Black, Terrapin Medic, Bucc, F7C Hornet).
Because I don't want my next ship to basically replace the RAFT so quickly, if that makes sense?
Can Vulture hold 23 SCU in the cargo + 13 SCU in the buffer, total of 36 SCU?
is the reclaimer better than the vulture for solo?
Depends on your patience for swapping seats often. If you can tolerate it, the Reclaimer is hands-down better.
Plus if you ever want people to join up I'm told you can post "Anyone want to go on a reclaimer run?" in here and have some hands on deck real quick.
Faster scraping, better scraping, obscene storage especially if you make a jenga tower in the elevator but leave a sideway for your character
The only problem with the Reclaimer aside from handling like a cow in space if you're on KBM is it does one thing and one thing only, it can get old real fast.
It does it the best but that's all it does.
In addition you'll be left alone more often from my experiences because your ship is extremely tanky and your shields are as well. Every now and then a Polaris or Tali will ruin your day.
As for me I popped into this channel for how this works.
I'm mainly curious about if the Hull series can autoload and unload without issue now.
@royal hamlet Realistically you're looking at Raft, C1, HullA and Cutty Black in the under 100scu range. After that you're looking at Zeus and Taurus before you get to the big boys of Cat and C2. If you can wait then I would recommend the Taurus as the Zeus' cargo bay is just a mess imo. Plus the Taurus is sort of like the Cutty - it's a great all rounder.
Autoload/unload is realy easy. Fly to hangar, store ship, got to trade terminal, sell cargo. However it is also buggy and you can lose cargo/money.
So, you accept Hauling contracts then manually load, after that you can auto-unload? Or can you auto load and unload? Iβll look up some videos but my quick searches didnβt help me understand tbh (probably just me).
hauling contracts you dont have auto load/unload, you have to manually load it to and from the elevators
Taurus is handy for that with the built in tractor beam
Does the cargo grid capacity count for commodities? Is there a different storage for that somewhere?
can you mine planetside with a prospector?
i tried mining some aphrodite and i instantly overcharge it
Hey folks im thinking of getting a prospector for some mining in 4.0 not done any yet been to pyro once! What are the best minerals to be aiming to get now any tips or advice would be GREAT
what you want for stuff like aphorite, dolvine and hadanite is a roc or multiool with a mining attachment, ship mining lasers are just too powerful and instantly blow em as you've found out
Oh alright, I don't got a ship capable of carrying a roc
you can rent both a roc and a cutty black from refineries, just be aware the roc can be a pain sometimes getting it into the cutty black cause of the wide tires
im likely gonna buy a C1 Spirit after i get done with my pyro missions
@pastel flame Wait, how does your Prospector have 48SCU of storage
they swapped stock prosector bags for mole bags
you can do that??
So is it the Argo Ore Pods I need?
yep it's manual tho so you can't just usee the vlm, gott put em in and take em out by hand, dont buy the pods either they'll clip in freight elevator and possibly break it, find a mole in a salvage contract or ask around
Ah. Well there goes 56k lol
my budyd said if you buy 16 1 scu crates you can call the pods up one at a time
yeah usually hats when it moves to the 2nd layer where it would just clip into the crates but still kinda iffy
Well we boutta give it a try
@coarse ember Interestingly, despite putting the argo pods on, it says I have 0 cargo capacity
Mass is to high. Easy, hard, impossible is just a guide, but some that it labels impossible are not.
That laser will get you up to around 15k mass at that resistance, that rock is 40k
i usually recommend aarons halo this time with the warning it'll be mostly asteroids but you can find some decent 20k clusters of panels there
for ease probably check around stations or better yet yela belt
what's the best thig to haul rn
Where do I go to use the Zeus CL's tractor beam turret?
Found it! Now to figure out how to control this thing
It does that until you get ore in
"Impossible" is calculated with taking the optimal distance to account. But if you fly closer than optimal, you get more power (and more instability), so you're able to crack rocks that are slightly beyond the Impossible line. This one is far far away from it. The max mass you're able to crack is roughly 5 * laser power * (1-resistance%). Helix I has 3150, with the modules you're at some 22.6k mass for 0% resistance.
is the 22.6k with or without the module stacking and is it with or without active ones?
With module stacking, without active ones. You can try activating the module when looking at the rock, and it should auto-recalculate (provided the system works atm π). The multiplier to power is shown on the panel down left, as fracture power (144% of baseline on screenshot)
And I think the info also doesn't take laser's resistance reduction into account (the Helix's 70% res. probably reduced the rock's resistance from 24% to 17%), but I haven't done enough experiments to verify it.
perfect visual representation of hauling (refer to the people in this video and their emotions)
Clip from "Inside Star Citizen: Behold... Seraphim!"
https://youtu.be/nZ3EXHv4lWE
anyone know the respawn rate of asteroids or meteors in any given shard
I wandered through some areas and found quite a few rocks mostly mined or broken already.
Anyone know why whenever i add MOLE modules like the C3 it doesnt add to the power
have 2 C3's and its only at 125 power
Is looting components worth anything yet?
S4 and S5 weapons are worth quite a lot.
Components, not so much, but if you have rare unbuyable ones, you can sell them for good money
I've just refined some ores, how do I get those ores to sell them?
my friend suddenly lost all his covalex rep, he was member yesterday
Get a cargo ship, store it at the station, collect the completed order, go sell at a TDD.
Refined ores will be auto loaded in your ship instantly and without a fee.
Once at the TDD, it'll work like normal cargo, auto unload with fee, or manually for free
π
Anyone know why after refining quant, my prospector still has the volitile cargo warning and explodes
He probably submitted a mission without delivering the cargo (or the cargo counter glitched), or abandoned it. The rep penalties there are disproportionate
Also we still able to save argo bags on a prospector?
or do they reset on a new claim
You should be able to
bug. I have only experienced this when storing the ship and starting the job from there. If you start the job from a landing pad it empties the ship properly.
Ahh so dont store it
Howdy everyone. I bought some commodities to load into my Hull C, but I have to get off for the night. Will the commodities still be there tomorrow for me to pick up from the cargo deck?
If they are in your storage then yes
I'm having trouble unloading my Andromeda using an Atls, once I put the cargo onto it's cargo bay, I can't take it out unless I power off the ship, even then, I have to interact with the box twice because I have to unsnap it from the cargo bay, afterwards I can snap it into the freight elevator. Is there something I'm missing to fix this interaction?
I've found that you can store Mole bags on a Prospecto and they will persist, but under two conditions. If you rent the Mole the bags will disappear when the rental period is up. And if you reclaim the Mole (owned or rented), then the bags will disappear from the Prospector.
Oh, and CIG have nerfed the sh*t out of mining in the belt.
Wait, you can start refinery jobs with the ship on a landing pad?
yep. saves a bunch of time usually.
Today I learned - amazing! Thanks!
you are welcome π
Does the HULL C work in star citizen?
It's not entirely reliable, but it works
And would it be worth it cause either kinda wanna just do big cargo
How unreliable is it?
Damn
This is a story in pictures lol
Worked fine for me, did a couple of hours with the ROC and no worries.
Yeah, Iβll give it a try tonight, it could have been a server issue. Thank you for letting me know βοΈ
Is Ammonia broken? I can buy it and load it up in all sorts of SCU container sizes, but I can't sell it anywhere. It just tells me the station can't take containers of this size
idk if this is the right place to ask but yoiu guys might know more about the elevators. is cargo storing bugged? i stored some ship components i bought at other stations and theyre gone from my local
if i average 300k a round, so like 6 missions a piece then it wouldnt take to long to get from 3m to 18m, ye?
for hauling
Sometimes takes a few minutes to sync up, if you want, you can relog to force it faster
ok ty
From what I'm seeing on uexcorp, it's very likely yes
Is there any rentable salvage ships?
Currently, not that I'm aware. They were supposed to be made rentable, but hasn't happened yet
Anyone tried both the fortune and the vulture? Any opinions on the better one?
I've not done salvage yet but the multiple heads would have to make the vulture inherently better?
I looked up a little video last night and this guy was making like 300k in 20 minutes scraping panels with his vulture. That seems like decent money. Just wish the hold was bigger
Vulture is probably better solo, fortune probably better in a group with a cargo ship to unload into
I could see that. Fortune out with a taurus. I assume grouped the taurus would be able to tractor the boxes off the fortune and just stack them.
A full taurus of that material would be a ridiculous amount of money
Saving up for a new ship with a rented taurus now. I'm torn on getting a Gladius again or getting a vulture. I might go with the vulture. My Titan is doing alright with bounties right now. Last time I played all I did was bounties. I want more options lol. It's nice having multiple things to do now.
Any idea how this gets fixed? I have 4608 SCU of Ammonia ready to be unloaded lmao
When do local salvage missions around a pyro station upgrade?
Or do they never?
Getting sick of arrows lmao
Well, looks like it's fixed in the sense that I'm sure next time you'll make sure you can sell stuff before you buy 4600scu of it lol
But otherwise, you're probably shit outta luck, unless you wanna try and store it all and hope they add buyers before a patch wipes the cargo
Well I figured I could sell it, UEX at the time didn't seem like it was showing any issues for Ammonia.
How long ago did you buy it? Uexcorp saying nothing for the last 15 days
Guess sc-trade.tools is more on top for once. Have you tried the Stanton gateway? They're showing inventory on there. Maybe they'll take it?
Getting through the warp would be a little tough as the Hull-C us so unmaneuverable when its 12 tons heavier than normal. I could try that. I went to Baijini and Everus. I have to go to somewhere with a Cargo Deck so I mean. I can try it though.
I bought it yesterday from Seraphim.
Maybe worth just pulling off a container and put it in a small ship just to tote around until you find somewhere that for sure buys it
i'm still moving stuff around with intrepid, it feels like a waste to rent something when i spent 3 hours or more on a single hauling mission
vulture at refineries im pretty sure
rent a hull a for less than 40k, go to one of the stanton main stations like seraphim. then fill it up with a bunch of 8 or less maybe 10 or less hauling missions for 40k
i made 300k going from seraphim to august dunlow in one trip
hows the hull c been?
Ooh nice. I'll have a look when I get on. I kinda wanna try some salvaging.
ye it'll come with 2 cinch heads and one abadre or whatever it is called
then a tractor
it wont be the best but it'll work
I gotta watch a tutorial or something. I don't know what a cinch head is
It'll be enough for me to know if I want to invest in one to have for myself
cinch head is the most efficient but has the smallest area
So if you go in to salvage a ship, but you can't carry all the stuff from it, does it stay marked for you to return to it?
the Abrade is 0.9 efficiency instead of 1.0 but it has a much bigger radius and is technically slower at salvaging but covers a larger area
yeah then the freight elevator breaks i'll be stuck with the cargo that gets marked as stolen, and i'll be 40k lighter
so i recommend not doing contracts, as your going to have times where you don't make what you put into them. I recommend doing salvage panels
you find them in astroid belts
Yeah the video I watched last night was a guy doing panels
a good spot is around yela, me and a buddy made 1.03m from a couple hours there
i was in a hull a running his crates
Doing that and selling at orison is like a little over 300k for 20 minutes of work
thats a risk with everything freight elevator related
When my freight elevator breaks I usually alt f4 and relog is usually fixes it
so basically
cinch: small area, 1.0 efficiency, fastest
abrade: bigger area, slower, 0.9 efficiency
abrade is honestly my preferred
The guy in the video said the same
He was selling at grim for convenience but orison would have given him 100k more
Can't complain, most of my issues have actually been with stations. Elevators and docking ports. Hull C has been smooth sailing.
I am sitting on 4608 SCU of Ammonia that I can't sell... so there is that. Can't really store it anywhere either so. My Hull C is tempoarily out of commission until I figure that out.
So what's the problem too many other people sold ammonia so nowhere wants it?
No. Stations are in demand of Ammonia but for some reason all of them "can't accept the container size"
Oh wtf
Yeah Idk what kinda bug I should even submit it under
Is it just too much at once?
I don't think so. I can't submit any amount of it.
Lmao reimburse me for my ammonia and sure
only 500k man
Hmm. I don't know enough about stuff to help troubleshoot it. I've only been back a few days
Whenever I get the chance to get back on I'll try to fly over to Stanton Gateway. Supposedly they're buying. Baijini Point and Everus give me the same error though.
I don't think Orison has a Load deck otherwise I'd try there too.
Can't you manually load it on the freight elevator and go sell at the commodities kiosk anywhere?
Nah, the hull C doesn't fit in a hangar with its cargo spindles out. Normally you have to go to a docking port, go inside, go to the galleria, sell the cargo, go back to your ship, undock, and fly to an assisnged load deck somewhere outside the space station
I would also not want to manually unload 122 32SCU cargo containers.
or 288 16 scu containers
I got you
Why are salvaging missions inside armistice zones? Can't use tractor beam to take cargo. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
you can use ship cargo beams
armistice zones have handhelds disabled because they were being abused
Can't find anywhere to rent a vulture. Just gonna have to save and buy one
werent there these contracts in pyro that are just salvage ships with drugs in em?
that sounds like fun if we had cargo cranes like in shipyards to do so
PYRO 4.0.1 - MINING - Riccite And Stileron Ore Prices Went Thru The Roof! Mining Is Great Again/ 4K
Hi Everyone! Great news for mining in Star Citizen! Prices for new rare materials went up double, and this is now a game changer for mining! In this video I am showing new prices for new rare materials, Riccite and Stileron, and also rock, which I...
if only u didnt get shot instantly in pyro :c as pleb pyro scares me and my smol c2
You really don't
6/10 times flying in pyro i have been shot down in my c2. 4times in space and 2 times in when i landed i got shot by pirate π well i did have some eggs on me but still its around 50/50 atleast on euro servers...maybe i go to bad places but ehh
Is there a way to be able to mine these impossible rocks? any type of mining gadget or something?
You are correct sir:
1.More lasers
2.Stronger lasers.
3.A certain amount of mining gadgets on it. You buy them in store, they looks like matrix of leadership from autobots.
They are different and give different properties to the stone you attach them to.
Some make stone easier to brake, other increase the green zone, they have pros and cons so read, try and be carefull. They can make it go kaboom.
They also explode if you shoot them. Or they got shot, if you caery them on your ass.
I saw a video, where dude mined giant rock by hand tool, but he put a lot of mining gadgets on it
I'm using a Prospector so I can just use 1 laser and I think i have the most potent one equipped (Helix I), I'm new to mining so maybe I'm wrong.
The gadgets I have 2 equiped, the mining just allow to 2, but they are ones that don't break, the other ones have uses and I'm scared it is a waste to use them but maybe using them let me break these rocks? or are just too much for a single prospector?
Hand tool?
I don't think the multitool allow for gadgets
Multitool has mining tool.
If you put a lot of mining gadgets on the stone, it lowers required power
How to emplace and which mining gadgets you should be using in Star Citizen 3.20
Star Citizen 3.20 Patch created a HUGE overhaul to mining and was even further changed in 3.20sub patch. . Everything has changed from mining lasers, modules, gadgets, mineral values and ship capabilities. In this video I go over what mining gadgets are, what trait...
There is a lot of videos on mining topic
man CIG should revisit hauling missions: i hate that missions with 100SCU-200SCU are max 8SCU boxes
So I just unlocked the Experienced hauling missions and got a notch... surprised by the Hull C level of contracts out there..
How does one load and unload the cargo when the external cargo lifts are jsut for decoration and then we have the commodities kiosk magic space box.
Surely one does not need a group of people with multiple ships loading and unloading or going in turns to do these?
(Help new to these changes)
i was told ( have to experience with it ) that the hull c can get auto loaded and unloaded
