theres really no point in trying to be secretive or coy about where the mining is good, tbh. planets and moons are big, if you take the same precautions you would on aberdeen or whatever, you're unlikely to run unto anyone out in the wild
the difference being in pyro you'll get attacked just for mining
i havent seen another soul on aberdeen or daymar
i mean that happened to me in stanton too 😛
actually i realized i lied, i have seen someone else on daymar mining
like 2 days ago
also iirc decoupleds reasoning for it was pirates knowing of a good spot to check
can you only autoload certain ships
i almost never get an option for my conny taurus
or if i select in commodity it says choose a eligible location etc
The terminal list of your ships is messed up. If you have more than one ship at a location you have to select them one by one until you find the one that has the correct cargo scu. If it is the only ship then select yourself and that should work.
was about to say lol
appreciate it!
is kinda annoying but not at all compared to some of the other bugs you might encounter before selling on foot lol
any idea why I'm struggling to break certai nhadanite rocks with the ROC?
Is it just not powerful enought for all of em?
usually i crank laser to full power and wait and that gets all of em, outside of that dunno since hadanite is roc/hand mineable only
medium and hard rocks take much longer than the easy ones that seem to melt like butter
yeah all but 2 of these rocks no issues. They do happen to be the largest looking of the group though
gonna reposition on them and see
also does the roc get damaged from regular fracturing or just overcharging
afaik just overcharge
another trick i like to use is max out the bar on the left for optimal distance just enough that its max optimal range but not overcharge range
I honestly never noticed that range indicator lmfao
these two rocks jsut taking significantly longer. It's working tho
it would help with some small text indicating it other than "optimal" but i could see the ui getting cluttered if they did that
once you get used to the mining ui from a roc or prospector it's much the same across except hand mining
this is also like unreadable lmao
Suppose to be just from overcharging but I noticed sometimes a gem will fly out fast enough to damage the roc a little
At least that's what seems like happens
okay yeac cause I thought I saw the same
but no indication of actual damage to the ROC yet
You'll find out when it breaks your engine
Accidentally overcharged a Hadanite node and it broke the engine on my Roc
Straight up unable to move and systems got shut off
I'm not worried about the overcharging. I know that hurts haha
Confused as to how I can only sell 16 at a time 🤔
Is mining a viable way to make money in 4.0? or is it still borked? Wondering if it's worth it to get the mole.
Short answer yes
With the rework - salvage or cargo?
For pure income?
yes
Batching small planetary cargo missions
fair enough
7 per batch, 350k per trip
Taurus is perfect, it's what I use
Fair enough
Should still be selling for roughly 10.5k at Orison.
Or at least I did a couple nights ago.
Though if you are running purely for profit, and have the Taurus, best to just stick with the batch of 7 cargo missions. Then when you need a break from that, go sit in a Vulture for a bit.
How’s mining in pyro? Heard terminus asteroid rings are supposed to be good but I’m finding nothing so far
Yeah, sells for 10k ea at starlight too
They're good, lots of taranite and quant
Surface mining on pyro 4 is horrific, barely any deposits lol
Ring mining doesn’t have many Q type either, I’m finding much more S, E, M types which I guess is to be expected
where can i sell direlected ship parts i went to a station on the way back from pyro at the pyro gate and couldn't sell them there
I don't think you can sell ship parts at all right now
thats ruthless
It's because you can dupe parts
rip
Once they find a fix for duping parts they'll let you sell them again
man trading is profitable 850k cargo with 180k profit is nice
How many SCU's are you moving?
48SCU
What commodity is worth that much for so little SCU?
Fresh food
hmm that could be why it's not popping up on SC trade tools
in trade routes
Only pops up if "allow wait times" is selected
So supply issue
Fresh food is great if you deal with less than 50SCU becouse of supply

What is the route for fresh food?
Where’s best to sell hadanite in pyro?
if i look at SC trade tools there is hydrogen fuel commodity so i can buy hydrogen fuel at stanton and sell it in Pyro?
I haven't tested how that works with the starfarer, but it might work
I might try it since i have SF to
Gonna try it but looks like its not worth it
Jackson swap on monox, otherwise ruin station
Thanks. So nothing planet-side on Pyro IV?
Nothing that's been reported to us at least
you can remove Hydrogen fuel and quantum fuel you cannot sell it at Ruin station as your website says
man loving 200k+profit trade runs using 600i
How’s the loading/unload for it? What’s the scu?
80SCU simply lower vehicle lift and yeet boxes inside on the edges of garage
I hate to say this but industrial is really unforgiving with how the servers are at the moment.
The amount of vulnerabilities you have to surmount are very high.
Oh nice. It doesn’t like rattle the ship into pieces? lol
not yet, but i do avoid putting boxes on elevator since i dont trust it
Trust in anything in 4.0? I have a 30% get out of my hanger successfully ratio
Maybe this could be useful for someone, not my post
Indeed, biggest issues I have found so far are the ships vanishing while unloading with what ever cargo was on it, you can call the ship straight from storage but the cargo on it has long gone, had this 4 times today over the course of 5 hours which means you can not complete any hauling missions, So I tired salvaging in a Vulture, same thing again, landed, took one box out and ship vanished while im stood in it, only saving grace with that was I had the hopper full of rmc and after calling the ship back out I managed to unload that straight out the hopper and get it outside the ship, all the stuff on the cargo grid had once again vanished
Will do, very unfortunate 😢
It’s sad because these sorts of activities are richer and deeper but of course they require interactions and interdependencies that make you vulnerable to loss.
Indeed, thankfully it was only time I lost, I’m also fortunate enough my ships are pledged, I just enjoy playing the game so I can help others with cash for their in game ships, on the plus side I got to practice my landings and tractor beam skills..
You can only buy about a tank and a half of q and h each stop, not worth
Friend and I found out you do NOT put 2000 gems in a 2 SCU container. The server does not like having 2000 entities shown to it at once.
anyone know what the current state of saddle bags is?
do they contain anything? can they be moved and replaced and used for their intended purpose or are they still useless placeholders?
I also learned today that the atls mech has about a 50% chance to try and fold me in half like a pretzel when I get in or out of it, I’ve used more med pens today trying to use it than the last 3 years 😂
What is RMC selling for in pyro?
10k
So they still nerfed the shit out of salvage>
Nah
It's not quite as lucrative the old way but it's still very good
I would highly recommend moving to Pyro though, it's balanced around that imo
@pallid talon I need to tell you, i feel happy that i own the Starlancer MAX again
Let’s see how good it is on Pyro!
WOOOOOOOOOOO

The ROC will kill you too. Not Space OSHA approved.
USing Atlas i been launched out of it and killed any workaround for that?
Was the price of commodities changed again recently? Bexalite was more a few days ago than it is now
i dont think so, perhaps just less people trading since they have money for other game loops so value went up
Do the prices go up and down now then? Depending on the supply and demand?
yep, iirc it's worked like that for awhile, i vaugely remember seeing rmc prices drop from 15 to 14k per scu from when there was the ghost cargo dupe while it was still a unpatched issue
i'll see if i can find a source to check myself lol
okay yeah it has worked like that for at least the last 7 months which was around the time of the cargo dupe bug so maybe they reworked it back then after serving out suspensions for exploiting
Cheers mate
Maze has been fluctuating between 180-220k roughly
How is mining this patch?
Which places in Pyro is ROC farming possible? Or the best places atleast
I did ok for Hadanite on Pyro IV
wouldn't say it was much of a farm but there was plenty of it lying around
Any suggestions for a new miner starting out? I keep only finding impossible astroids.
WHere to mine the new minerals on pyro?
What are the payouts looking like for Hauling experienced + ranks?
What are you mining with? Prospector? Mole? ROC? - Rented or Owned?
anyone know how to load the cargo at the outpost that near Yang's Place to complete First Hauling in Pyro?
Prospector at the moment. Rented, so can't change mining heads currently.
Are you trying to planet mine or astroid mine with it?
Astroid right now. Outside Arc L1 refinery
I usually recommend planet mining with it until you can buy your own rig. Daymar is pretty good. Gold will fetch a good price and very rarely you will find some rocks with quantanium that the rented prospector can actually mine. It's not too too far from a refinery as well.
used to be you can manually change the module & the mining head afyi, on the rented prospector. check youtube for the video
Ignis
Hey good guys
I just left Lorville where i spent tons of credits buying a Prospector, both the ROCs, some Tumbrils and bla bla bla
And i’m ready to become a miner ⛏️ for the first time
In Pyro, what you think would be a good base to start? Something with a refinery and not excessively far from the area of operations would be awesome
ROC and ROC DS
Why not?
Because DS
Oh well i got it for some operations with friends, wanted to try it. Cheap as hell, i just bought several things that i never used. I mean 100k… it’s literally a single mercenary mission on Pyro
How do you auto load cargo into your ship from missions, not from buying and selling.
I feel like it is more enjoyable to just buy multiple rocs
Can fit 2 of regular roc in a C1 and then you and your buddy can mine at the same time
Probably i can do that, i’m still near Lorville, I haven’t thought about buying 2x basic ROCs
My base is a Starlancer so for sure i can fit em
You don't
You can't auto (un)load hauling contracts
That sucks. Thanks.
only Hull C can auto load/unload cargo from hauling missions
Ye only downfall for me doing C2 cargo is that it takes so long to load and unload that by the time I finish one trip I log off as it takes so long.
How accurate is uex right now for pyro com hauling?
TBH i prefere SC trade tools
I tried using it, it's confusing, I'll try and give it a go again
its easier than uex for me or im just biased
We're always interested to hear any feedback on usability!
I'll sit with the tool today as uex doesn't seem to be accurate right now,
I'll definitely provide feedback with any challenges etc 🫡
uex doesn't seem to be 100% accurate, SC Trade tools seems to be more accurate atm.
Are the 50k salvage contracts the highest or is there a step after that?
Hey guys. Is it possible to mine asteroids in Pyro only ? And where ?
How many arrow contacts do you do to get past them lol
It is my understanding the mining data historically was client side and could be scraped from game files .. now it is server side and we don't know anything yet but through limited trial and error
has anyone flown a full hull c through the jump point?
I did a couple in 3.24 and after 1-2 Arrows I started getting higher end Salvage contract options
I stopped at 5 and still only see arrow missions in 4
How do people manage to stack seven hauling contracts to the same location?
I can only ever get two
I'm not sure what they did but it was like this on PTU, brutal
Go to orbital station, look for direct planetary haul
do they respawn after you pick them up or do I just need to get lucky
I have literally never had less than 5 missions show up for orbital to planet, but yeah, might have to do with bad server health
I'd suggest another planetary locale if it's not working well there
^^^
hello, is it possible to store full ore bags on station, to claim them later?
I did one 1k salvage, then a couple 5k ones I think, then 20k, and now 50k. I can't remember if there was another step
Strongly recommend not doing anything of the sort
Better to just do the refinery order
sad noises do they bug out?
They don't have an attach point on the bottom, so they will come up in the elevator hanging underneath inaccessible.
oh
If you were throwing them off, putting them immediately back on a prospector or something, you might be okay but it's still extremely risky right now with inventory
I have swapped out multiple prospector bags with argo this patch, lost a 2000 hadanite 2scu box to inventory glitch
got it, thank you
How are we enjoying trade right now, team?
very when i trust the game enough
I see a potential route to haul ice from Stanton to Checkmate. Sounds fun. 🤔
Trade is ok when the warehouse elevator works and doesn't eat your cargo
Are you seeing any cargo on the big contracts? Hard to warrant paying 50k when the unverified contracts pay you instead
It's been the only thing that works for me consistently, and how I have made my millions.
Yeah I see cargo but you can only take it if you tow the ship outside of armistice
or do them in pyro
Anyone been running with a Hull C lately? Been thinking about exercising my C's legs
There's a janky workaround to this - put a layer of 1scu boxes on the surface of the elevator then have the bags on top
Good tip, this worked 1/5 times for me but it still had a lot of issues. I just took mine from a soft deathed NPC MOLE
That sounds disastrous. 👀
Lost a couple of mil but getting back it now, it does suck
Knowing 2 mil stuck in an elevator and if they patch it goes poof
After 34k credits...i can confirm this is the case...
😭
i'm just being a mini bank with like 300k rn, most of the time i'm on the not so lucky end
so i only get on to pay for peoples fines then logoff again
Sometimes you gotta find out for yourself, this is the way.
im on 1.3mil atm, but due to increased ocurance of blackscreens i stopped trading and im only looting atm
do missions payout everyone in full, or do they split?
Splits in my experience yesterday. 50k mission became 16k per person in my group.
I definitely got paid in full.
When running in a duo
the question is, what missions do and dont?
Not sure. We did mercenary ground missions. I was supposed to get 120k and i got exactly 120k.
ok, so it looks like cargo missions are the only ones that dont pay out in full then
Hey all - can anyone give any advise on cargo hauling missions?
I've been running about 10 stacked and the elevator doesn't register the cargo I'm putting down.
Do the missions require specific boxes or doesn't it matter so long as the SCU requirements are met?
Bugged as hell.
That’s not on you, you are probably doing good.
Ok - thanks. I was wondering if the missions required specific boxes of a particular size - and if so how am I supposed to track it all. The boxes don't seem to be labelled at all.
I'm managing my missions on a spreadsheet
is there anyway I can get SCU boxes with my loot inside from the freight elevator?
Yeah, in the item manager screen on the terminals for personal inventory, click the open button on the Storage container and drag items into it, then go to the elevator and call that box up
It's been working for me about 50-60% of the time 😦
60% of the time, it works every time.
Does pyro only have trainee level missions for hauling? 🤔
are planet mineables not working for the prospector?
I wanna rent a taurus to do some hauling, I have a c1 right now, is it worth it?
c1 is good enough
not really sure if you think 160k per day rental is worth or not lol
but its my opinion
what are good commodities to trade in Stanton? Not sure if its better to do the cargo contracts or just trade
Also want to know too^
So is there any downside to just doing small cargo missions?
Like do you not earn as much XP for Rep?
does anybody know why i can't finish my first trade mission, like it said, i take 8scu of corundum, it appears has 1 big boxes of 8 scu, the problem is that when i want to move that boxe to the warehouse to finish the mission, it doesn't show me the option where i select the mission objective, so it just put the big boxe in my warehouse
When you click the down button on the freight elevator there should be a pop up asking you to confirm that the cargo is for that mission. If it isn't showing that then the mission is bugged. I assumed you got the Corundum from the freight elevator at the pick up point and didn't just buy Corundum. If you bought it the contract will fail as it has to be from the freight elevator.
Back in 3.24 as long as the mission you're doing is at the level you're at then small, medium etc. all give the same rep. I'm assuming it still works this way as I haven't been paying much attention in 4.0. So for the best rep/mission only take Rookie missions for Rookie level rep Junior missions at Junior rep and so on.
thanks bro im so dumb, i thought it was like in the previous version where i needed to buy by myself ok ok thanks a lot bud
Im at a station on a planet. Just bought some cargo, but I don't see an option to auto load.
no more autoload
you have to buy a big tractor beam
like the one they sell in every cargo center on station
Hi people. In 4.0 did they change how refinery orders are delivered?
Do you still need a ship to pick up a refinery order or can it be sent to the station cargo so I can pack my C1 properly?
has to be sent to a ship
wouldn't even bother though, the amount of times i go out and black screen and come back dead are outweighing the times i come back with anything to refine. games a joke right now
yeah blackscreens are biggest game stopers atm
Damn. Was hoping this changed. I have lost a great deal of cargo to ships spawning half clipping through the hangar floor.
never had this issue tbh
Is ship salvaging as profitable as the panels now or is it still pretty lopsided?
S T I L E R O N
where did you found it?
Does anyone knows if rock mining is working on 4.0?
Yes. ROC mining is great in 4.0. They fixed the issue with gems falling through the surface after the break (I mean they fall but seem to float back up so you can collect them). But try to drive slowly, you can blow up if you ram the ROC into stuff very easily.
Ty
Hello, I'm looking for a loadout for the Mole in which it'll be crewed by 2 people. Could anyone suggest which purchasable things I should pick up to kit it out?
Question about hand salvage.. it stores the RMC into containers but the wiki only really discusses using those to patch hulls. Are we able to sell the RMC containers from hand mining, who to and is it worth the struggle?
They couldn't be sold a few patches ago, not sure if that's still the case or not
What's sure is it isn't worth the hassle at all if you're trying to make money
Yeah it was a passing thought, found a video from a year ago someone filled near 100 of the small handed canisters and sold them to TDD but it looked like a nightmare. It might be worth attempting again after 4.0 is live, maybe a way to toss them all into a 1scu cargo box to sell in one go. I don't think the video showed the larger rifle salvager so it's something to try. But likely mining is still better
hmm, how are the profits from it? Im just thinking of different ways to utilize my zeus mk2 cl for profit
Well Hadanite is 437 per piece, so pretty good.
But if you want fast money with the Zeus, chaining hauling missions is still best.
Atm been switching between hauling, bunkers and bounty hunting(MRTs are easy so far, but I know it wont be good for VHRTs)
I like to mix it up, so I guess Il try ROC mining again too ^_^
Is it possible to do station to station hauling with a hull C, like if I just loaded up on a dozen or so large contracts to the same station, would it work?
Weren't we supposed to get paid for salvage contracts now?
As far as I'm aware no, it has been always pay to pick the contract and just the earning are from the RMC you get salvaging the ships.-
is there a good place for hauling contracts?
I’d swear I saw vids of legal salvage missions with actual payouts just a few weeks ago when it was still in the PTU
Are there any lawful DC FPS missions?
Yeah, gotta grind some regular merc contracts first though
Kopion contracts work well for that actually
what are the best paces in the whole verse to go salvage panels?
Are 16 or 32 scu containers sold anywhere?
Storage ? No
8 the largest buyable?
Yep
That sucks
is there somewhere better to sell rmc than orison?
Orison is great because the price is fair, but mostly because demand is high.
You can risk the other locations, they might pay better if they are not full
@static islandwhere do you go salvage?
I like cru-l1 or cru-l2, fill up on panels and then back to Orison. Nice and simple 😄
any good place in Pyro?
What's the best commodity with mega stock to run in a c2?
Auto loading n off loading etc
Limited to stations
Depends on the budget, but medical supplies is one of them.
Be aware that autoloading and unloading can destroy your ship.
I can't link anymore on this server, but if you put 20k in the "expanded view -> min inventory capacity" field of the website, you'll only get high availability routes.
so me and my buddy in our reclaimer; we killed a dude in his A2
we were able to take his colossus bombs
can we sell them anywhere?
or will they just vanish the second he claims the shipo
dont take my word, but apperently its not worth selling them since CIG nerfed sell price to prevent insurance fraud. No bombs are yours or your buddys
nah random player who was tryna kill us whilst we were selling at samson
How much can you make pyro mining with a mole and where/what should you mine
Get yourself started in the Terminus belt. Look for Taranite, bexalite and gold, with an emphasis on Taranite.
How much do you estimate this will earn an hour?
with medium luck
That is going to vary way, way too wildly on your skill level
It's less about luck
You could make 500k in 15 minutes or an hour
The absolute best you can do is 3 really efficient players, 1 scout 2 MOLE crew, but the more people you add the more it matters what everyone's doing with their time
currently a duo, we mined alot of qt back in the day so we got some skill
Ok so you actually do know what you're doing!
dont know the current prices
Ya. Do some scouting missions to other moons if you like surface, but IMO the best pure cash is 100% in terminus belt right now.
where is it located?
Taranite is very high spawn in terminus belt, and you refine it at Ruin, then sell it at, you guessed it, Ruin.
It's around Terminus in pyro
can i mine with stock stuff? too poor to buy a mole and we are renting one
@pastel flame
Yeah, especially in a MOLE. Then you will appreciate the upgrades later
matters more in a prospector
Is scrappers turn generally safe?
What is in an igneous deposit?
trying to find hadanite while flying around aberdeen and im not sure what i need to look for on the scanner
Fly close to the ground and look for outcrops that appear within 5km
oh, i see now, needed to find my scanning MFD, my bad
If it appears 8km+ it's not roc mining
i found some rocks with laranite, is that worth it?
/ is there an online resource that can help me determine what is worth mining?
Yeah, google some sheets, there's some great info I like uexcorp for overall commodity prices. There are some good mining sheets out there.
For ship mining you only want bexalite, gold, taranite. Or Quant if you feel lucky and can break it.
what about for ROC mining?
Hadanite only, avoid Aberdeen respectfully it's a noob trap
If you want to stay in Stanton, check out Daymar
lol good to know about aberdeen, thank you for all of your help!
Cheers. Last piece of advice - grab a 1 scu box from a cargo area at a station. Bring it along, snap it on your ship's grid, and move your hadanite into it after each mining stop.
Never fill a 2 scu
why never fill a 2 scu? (i brought a 4scu smh)
Yeah i own one as well!
hello. where can i find a Pembroke Exploration Suit?
usually flying 1km up from ground and anything within 2.8-3km has been hadanite for me, once in awhile tho theres a crazy cluster of dolvine or aphorite it picks up
another trick i also use is anything below 5k for a scan sig i ignore
unfortunately they dont seem to be available in-game buyables rn, likely a bug or a mistake somewhere
any alternatives for suit?
you'd only really need it on aberdeen, theres hadanite on daymar in decent supply too and and you dont really need any special heat protection like the pembroke offers
Anyone have a guide on drug trading?
I'm having trouble selling some goods on my Hull C on the 4.0 preview, did they change how it works?
You can wear heavy armor which will give you about five minutes before you have to go back into your ship to cool off. I've been doing fine in a Morozov set, which you can buy at Everus.
Does the MaxLift use batteries now in 4.0? Or are they still useless?
they're still useless
how abouth the mule?
Mule needs a redesign to make it actually useful
can we not sell stuff directly from the ship any more? Trying to sell some salvage without unloading it, it tells me "Select a valid inventory"
Auto-unloading in theory is supposed to exist, but the ship would have to be stored. I'm also not sure it actually works with RMC/CM.
The ship list at the terminal is bugged. You have to go through the list selecting ships until you find the one that has the correct cargo scu. For me the last two times I tried the ship to select was actually the second one above the actual ship.
I'm trying to use the autoload feature for cargo, but whenever I try to buy cargo I'm getting "cargo transfer failed", I'm made certain my ship is stored and I have more than enough money for the cargo.
Any ideas?
Contribute to an IC about it, and use manual loading for now
Because the inventory sometimes cannot handle it, I lost a 2 scu box full this way
can mole bags still be used on a prospector?
yes
however, dont buy them
cargo elevator bugs out when bringing them up
so they gltich into the floor and dissapear
shieet anyone wanna make a contribution to the common wealth?
You gotta put your stuff into the freight elevator and lower it down
Soft death a MOLE or scavenge one, there's lots of NPC mole debris laying around pyro stations
damn i gotta go to pyro
is it better to mine in pyro than stanton?
In my opinion yes.
IMHO there'd be a bit more of a chance of getting blown up by another player in Pyro then Stanton, but how much, I'm not sure right now.
do you still just moon mine? or no
Surface mining is a huge waste of time for anything but a MOLE crew with a scout, better to mine the Terminus belt if you're solo prospector.
Can you turn vulture 1 SCU boxes into multi SCU boxes?
Extremely low
Basically yes. Do you want the rundown?
should i just mine around refineries then?
Like I know you cant in the ship, but what about at a port
no only 1 scu boxes
No, there's still no way to change SCU boxes
Just gonna copy pasta
Terminus Belt is by far and away the top profit to be had mining solo or duo right now. I feel strongly about this because in my mind, mining is mostly about efficiently finding good rocks, not just finding good rocks.
Terminus has two major points going for it, one of which no other station has which massively saves you time. The first, which is not so different from Yela it seems at first glance, is that it's a belt right against a station. This means I can depart, and in 3-4 minutes be already scanning.
But the second, bigger point is the refining and selling potential. Ruin has a refinery, and on top of that you can sell the Taranite right back to their admin for top dollar. What this effectively means is any Taranite you mine in Terminus is worth significantly more because of how quick the turnaround on it is - you have literally an entire mining trip worth of extra time for having chosen Ruin.
In my opinion this becomes only more true as you add more people. Whether it's taking time to get going, finding the right rock, cracking a big rock, if you are limited to prospectors you shouldn't leave Terminus if it's about cash only.
That's my take on solo prospector right now based on a lot of personal exp in Pyro
It's more real info than you will see about mining anywhere right now but i'm just an average citizen
4th best money in the game right now 😛
so you dont even refine?
I do
Ruin is both a refinery and a buying location
You have to run your gold and bexalite someplace, i'll let you figure out the best location for that in Pyro but it's easy to do.
But the taranite, you literally store it from refinery onto your cargo ship, call the ship, move the cargo into the elevator, sell
so what are the contenders?
Pyro bounties, stanton bounties+cargo selling, cargo missions, mining=salvage
Seems about right to me
I welcome opposing opinions but I haven't seen anyone even at my rep talk here yet
In a few days everyone will know
I haven't even touched pyro yet but just from my perspective, the more active/dangerous a gameplay loop is, the more rewarding it should be
The deepest aUEC meta right now is so greasy I can't bring myself to share it, but it's related to everything I just told you and will be obvious as you walk that path
Mining/Salvage being the most laid back and being lower than bounties and cargo makes sense to me
Yeah... and with the right crew you can make great money doing either one, too. It's not to be looked down upon.
Yeah
Damn, thanks yall
Im doing multiple runs then loading into a taurus, so its just a pain in the ass
Yeah, it's rough. I look forward to either a multigrab tractor or being able to once again store small boxes in big boxes
I would kill for a multigrab tractor
Yep... scroll to make it's "grid" bigger or smaller
Fun to imagine, hard to implement
Jeez how much is the Mole?
9 mil
Okay challenge on Mr. Reclaimer!
Holy fuck
I just found 24k field - with 6 large panels
God I wish I was in a reclaimer right now
I just started mining cause I couldn't get the hauling missions to work in pyro
How is the mining in pyro?
Don't know I've been mining in Stanton
Hauling wasn't working any better for me in Stanton, no cargo
Just got the prospector so I figured I'd give it a couple dry runs before trying in Pyro
Worked yesterday though
I like mining cause I can set up 5 work orders and then bebop around
Don't have a mining ship right now, and not sure if I want to rent a prospector
Someone of you guys got a good mining setup for the Prospector? My knowledge of mining heads is zero
I’m running a stock Prospector, looking to change something
Is there any way to put a personal beacon to come back to an area?
Sure, a hoverquad
Smart.
Helix, reiger c3, stampede is my current fav setup
If you don't like using active focus 3 is nice
But use at least 1 active
Surge cant be bought in pyro so i go stampy
Nice, thank you! Will take a look to that!
There's actually a lot of decent options so i'd love to hear your findings down the road
like the gadgets?
finally going to check out ignis, i pray the om marker doesnt softdeath my ship again
No, I advise avoiding gadgets for now due to their expense.
wait what is an active then?
There are mining modules you can put on any mining laser head, some only accommodate one, others 2-3.
Some are "passive" and just stay on there all the time doing something. Others are consumable but give powerful buffs.
oh cause i have the hofstede S1 and the rieger C3
Also a good combo, less power but way more forgiving.
Will definitely do! Need to say, i’m having a lot of fun with the prospector
I got some TIN
Did you get out to Terminus?
As now i tried only Pyro 1, Bloom and some asteroid belts to mine, on planets i haven’t had a lot of luck, only a group of rocks was working
The rest was bugged
FUck planet surfaces especially solo mining
I just mean terminus belt, it's BiS
What you found?
It's got high levels of quant, taranite, bex, gold. And the real ultra power is that you can refine and sell the taranite all at Ruin.
No delivery required
Take the Bex and Gold to Rat's
Ya you're running low on time there, that's an impound for me, haha
helix 1 or 2?
2 is for the mole
im probably gonna try your setup out
Try it!
wait so when would i use the stampede?
Wehn trying to crack a rock that reads "impossible"
One to get into optimum window, potentially but not always another to stay there long enough.
Like last night I ran into about a 17k "impossible" taranite rock, and was able to crack it only because of Stampede - it was a huge haul for a prospector with mole bags on
what is the scanning reading i should be looking for when scanning a belt?
is there a specific number or just random
Anything that isn't a multiple of 2000
it probably sucks, but at the very start i'm just taking the majority of what i find. At least i got already 2 work orders.
When I went mining, I'd mine whatever rocks I found and refine everything I could. Worked for me.
also do the mole bags save to the ship?
Yeah, you just have to store it, take off a gun or something, save, put the gun back on, save
Basically just save it with the bags on somehow
YOu can get picky later when you see what's good, I only stop for the top 4
alright cause im gonna load 5 work orders at crusader and try to go to pyro
Mole bags you don't own though will vanish with the next patch
I just got mine from a soft deathed npc mole
Yeah, those will likely vanish
That’s probably the way once you want to be 100% efficient. As now not worth it, i got SHITTY components
Tomorrow will upgrade from your list, at least it’s a good starting point, maybe later i will try also some personal combinations
I’m at Orbituary, how’s the selling situation here? I really never mined in Pyro
If i need to move cargo around i definitely can
With the MISC whale 🐳
Check out uexcorp, it will show you what's best for the lesser ones
Already up and running for 4.0? Reliable?
Yep
UEX uses the same data as SC Trade Tools
is there a button for the stampede?
They partnered up a while ago, so people submit data using SC Trade Tools app, and both sites get access to it.
alt+1, 2, etc
Depends on the slot
I just use it
I heard around that you can.. aehm.. borrow the ore bags from the Mole for the Prospector..
Still working?
Yes
That’s absolutely necessary then
Spent an hour trying to do hauling missions in SC, and got nowhere thanks to bugs. Tempted to just wait for them to fix some of these issues before playing again, but I probably won't wait.
It certainly helps
Mining bags on freight elevators isn't fixed yet though
So let’s see if i get it
I need to take em from a destroyed MOLE outside the station
Or something similar?
You could get bags from any Mole
Buying them and moving them in the hangar with the freight elevator works?
Sometimes players will let another player get bags from their Mole, and then go reclaim it
Yep or ask a kind MOLE or equipped prospector
You do not want to store/retrieve Mole bags on a freight elevator period
Nice, then i’ll do this
Take them off a Mole with multi-tool tractor beam, attach to Prospector. Then go store the Prospector to save the state.
Very good, thanks for the help guys
Tomorrow i’ll look to find a MOLE user
Or someone that got em on the propsy
Prospy* lmfao
Remember that you'll need to unlock ports to add/remove components manually, like bags
Luckily i know the basics
The only thing that i really DON’T KNOW is mining, very first time that i approach it
I started mining by using a Cutty Black and Roc to get a basic idea how it works, then bought a Mole later. Back in 3.22.
But all of those were bought in game
Got a ROC as well, it’s very funny but need to be honest i find the Prospector MORE cool to use, personal feeling
Remaining in a spaceship is quite comfy
Eventually apparently there will be uses for hand mining, Roc mining, and ship mining in the crafting system. With different ingredients from different mining methods.
I spent a lot of time salvaging in 3.24, both with the Vulture and the Reclaimer, in the end i was a bit bored of it so i wanted to try a different loop, mining it’s very cool
Mining is stronger again than it was pre-4.0
Once you get really pro with some friends you can run 2 scouts+MOLE and stan riccite and stileron
I also had an in-game bought Vulture and (at the end of 3.22) a Reclaimer. I liked salvage gameplay too. Solo Reclaimer salvage can be an issue in 4.0 right now though (for the moment I have a pledged Reclaimer) due to aggressive ship cleanup code, that doesn't care if you're using a mining turret or not and doesn't care if the station it suddenly stores your ship at has an XL hangar or not.
Someome ever tested how much time the cleanup process needs before starting erasing stuff around?
It can take less time then it takes to scrape and crunch an Arrow with a Trawler.
Jeez…… I expected it to be way longer
Now we know why 4.0 performances are quit high 😀
I'm not actually sure that code is helping as much
They tried that during EPTU IIRC and it didn't help with the jump gates, which were horrible for FPS at the time. But it wasn't due to CPU or GPU. Think that got fixed by network optimizations.
Also, the cleanup code might not be doing much in Pyro, I suspect it's linked to Armistice.
Well, Armistice and hangars which used to be Armistice.
stampede got doinked off by a rock lmao
Im going to take a wild guess and say Terra mills isnt safe?
im going to assume this has to do with bounty cargo drops?
pretty sure it's stupid hard to find which makes it sell for so much
show me the way
Janalite is in caves
the hardest one to find
do i need my shields on when mining?
Only if you suck when mining
Overcharging a rock will hurt your ship a LOT
just breaking them hurts with this setup that decoupled was running
That would be by SCU, not by unit. 1 SCU might be something like 1000 units or something.
Yeah, basically it means it's like 18559 credits per gem
oh
Which is still a lot
Yeah
A rock drops like 6-10 gems at a time if you find one
But you can only find that type of gem in a specific type of cave
And on 4.0 you might need Verseguide to find caves.
I need to test the hoverbike scanning in caves to see if it still works in 4.0
Makes it a little easier to look for janalite
No idea what that is
wat dat
Take a hoverbike into a cave, hop on, ping your scanner
A website for finding locations that don't have QT markers
Highlights all rocks in the cave
bet
oh sht
Previously, one way you could find caves was Investigation missions, but those are not available yet in 4.0.
It's janky, for some reason sometimes hoverbikes will just up and disappear when you take them into the cave
At least that's how it was in 3.24
Haven't tried in 4.0
Some caves are big enough to fly a ship into
So do different stations reset?
Like I just delievered 120 SCU of RMC to terra farms, and they have no demand
I really dont wanna re hand load 120 SCU individually
I might kill myself first
No, they just change prices based on how many people sell there
If they have too much stock, then they'll lower price
I figured that out
I just lost my ass on salvage
4 hours of work which should have netted me like 1.4 mil left me with 432k
Terra Farms?
You sold for too low?
Looks like you should've gone to; Terra Mills
use this site
it shows where to buy and sell
for best prices
wtf ?
thats gotta be cap
crap?
if thats real take that shit in a heartbeat
dude i dont even have a salvager, 200k for a cutlass?
am i missing something? drugs? cargo? high end weapons?
yeah idk
I was. It told me a price of 11k
Told ya!
Just did something similar to this, very interesting
I like how the "salvage" ships are still fully operational but all red
It's a scrap, too.
Fun little MOLE cargo!
I haven't touched prospector/mile mining yet
How much does 16 scu come out to after refining high yield?
yo how do you not get decked while mining with the helix
How do you mean?
well today was another good day for me, did a bit of hadanite mining and then a bit of trading, helped someone else load their freelancer max too, turns out we were doing the exact same route when i saw them at orison seconds later about 300k off my first mil this patch
i have to basically be touching tips with the rock so it damages me every time
Get it high in the optimum window and back off
A little damage is ok
oh
you just refine everything right? or do you skip anything thats low tier
Skip anything low tier
Adds needless time to your refine
so do you refine tier 1 and 2 or just tier 1
I only mine and refine quant, stileron, riccite, taranite, bexalite, gold. Everything else is literally invisible extra
That's where we find them, yes expensive new minerals
is it like 25% and above to fracture or higher ?
Not sure I know what you mean there
cause the asteroids usually have trash minerals along with the tier 1
Yeah just depends on how big the rock is and what the material is
This is the kind of thing you can easily find I was just doing this outside Ruin
Can see the station in the background 😛
Noice
That was a 20k mass "impossible"
Specific types, yeah
im tryna find this and dont see it anywhere
do salvage missions get better after doing more?
Got the Helix 1. It slaps
Scouting for a prospector and mole team
What are you flying
Sabre Firebird
me rn
you are a scout so its a payday for you with this one
We've found Riccite and Stileron in zero g today which was big, because prior to tonight we'd only seen it on surface
The boys have arrived
112 scu
So much the MOLE got full and we had to call in a prospector
are there any suits still fit for roc ds mining on high temperature planets that you can buy in game?
Not until they put Pembroke back in shops
Rofl i went to HUR L2 to buy mining expensive shit and
I saw the mannequin that used to have the Pembroke on it EMPTY
it was quite hilarious
This is the good life right here.
why cant I find a button to activate my munching arm in the reclaimer copilot seat?
did it get moved?
now it only appears to have a power button 😕
Button is M, in case you need it
M? Like. just sit in the seat and press m? Why do I remember there being a button to press ig.
Hm. Ty
is hull munching worth it?
I think so it seems the value has been boosted by 1,000 k and I can munch hulls much faster than lasering.
yes for Reclaimer
how do i do it in the vulture?
i did the scraping first then breaking with the reclaimer
thinking to do some commodities now that i have some money and the c2 for cargo
You get close to a ship with the shields turned OFF, you enter salvaging master mode, and you fire the scraping beam against the hull of the target ship. You keep moving it around the hull slowly to chew up the composite material. Once you get 13 SCUs of material, you stop everything, you go down to the filler and you print 13 boxes. Fix em to the cargo grid, go back to the cockpit, and start again the process above.
ooooh ight thank you very much
is it worth it compared to scraping?
It’s explained in a very easy way, you should really take a look at it on youtube if you want to learn more. But it’s quite an easy process honestly. Pay attention to your surroundings, especially if you are in Pyro.
By the way salvaging with the Vulture is VERY worth it.
Scraping in a vulture is better than munching in a vulture. You just don't have the capacity to store enough for it to be good. I munched 740 SCU of construction materials in my reclaimer from one trip from like 4 vehicles. Anything that doesn't fit in your buffer is voided and the largest pieces are usually in one big piece.
You'd max at like 60k a trip ... Which is like 6 SCU of scrapping.
Ah fuck, sorry guys. I thought the guy was asking about how to run salvage operations with the Vulture, i got only now that he was talking about DISINTEGRATING other ships. Munching for me was not clear at first because english is not my first language 😆😆
This is correct, scraping is the way, munching is definitely a work for the Reclaimer. It could become profitable if you use the Vulture together with a carrier like the Polaris, where you get access to way more cargo space, but due to the filler printing exclusively 1 SCUs boxes it would be a tedious idiotic unworthy process. So go for scraping.
You could take a reclaimer to Yela and munch the unverified contracts for an hour and come out with 900k in construction materials though, it's solid
do you guys do the verified contracts with a reclaimer or the cost of the contract not worth much?
I gave up after 4 arrows because I kept getting arrows lol - the illegal ones are so freely available I haven't bothered with legal
you get more after doing arrows but the cost goes up too
I never did a single verified contract in my life in 3.24. I’m not sure about how it works now.
If it’s the same, then unverified ones.
ALWAYS AND FOREVER
i have some like freelancer for 20k contract to pay
i should do unverified ones tbh cause you make money with the others but little
Pick the contracts where you get actually paid for salvaging and not the contrary.
Go there, eat the ship you find, profit. And you even get paid.
Simple as that
oh they were contracts that paid you? or thats the unverified ?
Yeah only unverified. But you can do that freely, literally nothing happens to you
You just get a 60 minutes timer to finish the work
Considering you are likely to disintegrate a ship with the Reclaimer, you’ll end up in 3.
Then just go away.
yea and you know sometimes the verified contract was saying i was trespassing in some ones lol
Take note that i never tried salvaging in 4.0 so i’m not responsible for deadly outcomes and extremely severe consequences that you may encounter or more likely THAT YOU WILL FOR SURE SUFFER

No one….
FROM BUGS…
But yeah, pay attention to players as well.
yea i keep notice till i can fine a crew for things
Reclaimer munching works for unverified - you complete the mission as soon as you crack it
is mining bugged with scanning issues, getting rocks i cant scan even though it was showing up on the scans
Has anyone found the sweet spot for cargo missions?
I literally took four one way and got all of them submitted, then took two one-off loads individually and submitting both failed.
Same station/spaceport route b2b and one works one doesn't.
It seems pretty much hit or miss to me. Yesterday I did 4 contracts out of Seraphim without a hitch. Today the first one didn't deliver the cargo to my freight elevator. I even mucked about doing other stuff for like 15 mins thinking maybe it is lagged but no.
I'm optimistic the data connected over the break will yield fast patches when they return to office
ROC gems not being sold at the Admin on a Pyro station...
I cant seem to find an answer. I am seeing both yes and no. Can the Hull-A be rented in 4.0?
Try ruin station or Jackson's swap, they should take hadanite
i heard it can be
try ship rental on cargo deck at Seraphim and Bajini
Will go there next. Thank you!
or try ship rental at any cargo deck so all 4 LEOs
LEOs being the Orbitals? Like Everus Harbor?
yes
Got it, thank you!
Will do thanks...
anyone heard of a correlation between overfilling a vulture cargo area and the black screen crash?
someone mentioned it on a ytube and I've hauled in 3 vultures now without filling that last non-snap isle with no crash. coincidence?
Overfilling a vulture has nothing to do the black screen
Black screen is just error message not rendering properly, click around and you'll find the okay button to go back to menu
really? what menu? The game isnt' crashed?
Nah the server/shard crashed not the players end of stuff
It'll send you back the the join menu where you select region
oh but you still loose your ship?
Afaik yeah or sometimes it just sends everything to the last station you visited
ok interesting. thank you vm!
abrade or clinch for the vulture?
looking for gunner or security for a haul
abrade
thanks mate
one on each gun
This is good because my first stop in the halo has 6 large panels and I want to stuff this ship to the gills
is there any rework for freelancer already planned or not?
How much aUEC should I have before I start doing cargo hauling?
twice as much as you're willing to lose.
Have y'all had more success with cargo hauling compared to cargo missions?
Feel like if they are the same, I would never take those odds with my own money
Question
They added these hover carts at distribution centers
Where exactly are these
This is basically the situation right now
You're doing cargo for fun and mid profit
7 batches of missions orbital for 350k is hard to beat
This is really good, when it works. Frustrating as hell if you load everything up and then it doesnt, or you can't even get the boxes from the elevator in the first place.
Totally! Just feels less bad than paying hundreds of thousands for the same thing not doing mission cargo.
usually once i hit 500k-700k then i start trading so i have at least some capital to burn if something bugs out and not be back to a incredibly slow grind of mining
also yeah in the same vein as werric said earlier, dont spend more than half of your money on cargo
anyone here salvaging components and using them? having difficulty attaching them?
its the only way to circumvent the limitation of stock components. using a vanguards stock powerplant on your ship for example
Need some assistance, I'm at a station.... I was moving 96scu of cargo in warp and the game black screened. Came back and the ship was back in my hangar with the cargo on it. Its not allowing me to detach the 6x 16scu containers from my ship to offload them with either a hand held or max lift tractor. Cargo shows 0/96scu in the commodities window. Am I screwed?
It's hard to say. I have had stuff disappear and re-appear, especially around refinery orders, in my Connie. You may very well be screwed, but my instinct would be to store the *ship safely and give it an hour, then check again.
I'll leave it stored for a while and see if it wants to cooperate later, it has the boxes mounted on the raft but for whatever reason it wont let me detach them making me think they're there but not actually there
I don't know if I'm in the right group but r these trading apps for commodity accurate? It says 11k for rmc does that sound right
We're updated as much as possible!
10-11k/scu of RMC is what we see in 4.0 right now
That's what I've been getting at terra mills (11k)
Anyone know how to recenter salvage heads when gimbled?
All of the sudden, mine are spaced out like the prongs of my vulture
Thank u
Has anyone been able to do chained hauling missions the past few days? I keep getting a bunch of bugs all of a sudden but I didn't get any when I first started getting back into sc 2 weeks or so ago
how do I get the ATLS mech into a hangar/?
Summon it from ASOP
For mining do u normally just do roc mining on aberdeen to make some cash early game?
Daymar is better for roc mining tbh, decent amount of hadanite and you don't need a special suit for heat protection
Just got about 1km in the air 116m/s scan anything that pops within 2.8km and ignore anything below a scam sig of 5000
Store the ATLS on it's own like you would a ship
Trick is getting the elevator up if you sent a ship down, you may have to call up a small ship, move it off to the side, put ATLS on the elevator and store it, then in the small ship you can call ATC to get the elevator back.
There is a keybind to reset the gimble, but I don't remember it off hand
Tab+scroll will adjust the convergence of the 2 heads
It's a damn shame ppl still get sent to aberdeen at all
It was before, but especially after 4.0
aight miners, what mining head should I get
There's lots of opinions and several good ones, mine is helix 1 with reiger C3 and Stampede
I haven't even done mining in a prospecter yet but I've read about the heads and would want helix lol
I crack a lot of impossible quant and taranite rocks
Passing those up makes you abandon the safety of the hofstede
Is mining even worth it for time vs profit? Haven’t done it since refineries came out
What is the most efficient way to make money in game?
It took me almost 16 hours to make 3.5 mil
I'm doing panels
Grind stanton bounty rep to HRT, move to pyro, do bounties there
58-111k rewards minutes apart
For everyone in party who shared
Salvaging, try basing out of Starlight in pyro
There's lots of decent ways to make money, and only a few obscene ways.
anyone tried these yet ?
Is that they pay you 200,000 to take on the burden of 400i ownership or do you have to pay?
i have no idea. it says fee so...
Greetings, anyone able to point me to a Stanton L-point station that spawns panels reliably in 4.0?
Paying 200k to salvage a 400i doesn't seem like that good a deal to me.
gotta be more to it, theres no way its just the hull
component/weapon and potential loot in storage?
Leave the ATLS in the hangar after use, it bugs your ship out if you store it.
Among other things. CIG is still out on holiday so they havent done the regular exorcism of the demoncode that runs the ATLS. Half the time it kills its user when they get in lately.
I guess you have to pay. Perhaps it has some interesting innards and paint?
i did like 12 hull-c hauls. lost a lot at baijini after it didnt acknowledge by purchase of 5mill auec of stuff. did 4 more hauls afterwards only at gateways and everything went fine
interesting
first i found hull-c hauling tedious but then i got into the hang of things such as being able to smoothly dock and load without overshooting. and i was able to take advantage of my headtracker to position myself properly without using external cam.
Is auto loading a thing?
The ship is an absolute travesty and a piece of shit that isn't worth wasting your time trying to get to work. The hauling process is tedious as it consists of redundant steps clearly designed to just take time, whereas all surrounding systems are finicky and very hard to actually get to behave. I can't think of a worse ship in Star Citizen right now.
It worked at least 90% of the time
Yes, may result in your ship being destroyed though
Qt mining still possible like back in the days? Going to lyria and finding a ton of rocks?
which is the best place for roc mining and what i am looking for? thanks
assuming the submit button on hauling contracts does nothing of use?
Is there a resource that shows where the best places to mine are?
Nothing for pyro yet
If you have a partial completion you can submit for credit
ah tyvm
There isn't anything up to date because the data is now server side, so RedMonster can't datamine it and make new sheets.
Thank you!
Back when I played awhile ago VHRTs used to be the best bounty level for time to complete/reward ratio, has that now become HRTs?
I see RMC payout is nerfed in Stanton
barely 250k, if at that.
per full load of Vulture + buffer.
You're selling at the wrong place
enlighten me please.
Check the uec site
It told me A18, that was my lowest at 220k
I sell at orison for 10.2k an scu
That was my best at 280k :/
I was informed that at least 300k at bottom, even with the nerfs.
What's the process of selling refined materials now? Can you sell from a stored ship or do you have to transfer to a freight elevator?
Refined should not be. Just the raw stuff.
Great, thanks again
When I'm spawning in my ROC for mining is there anyway to spawn it in with my cutty black or do I have to go pick it up on a planet?
Mmmmkay so first time roc mining - is there JUST shale in these rocks or is it worth cracking them open?
I have no idea how to "scan" properly other than using tab
The roc can only mine the gem deposits: hadanite, dolivine, etc
They are much smaller rocks
Oh okay so it will say "Hardanite" and such when i ping them
Any tips on how to scan for them/what im looking for or is it just fly to the nearest "unknown" until you find something
Fly 1km above ground flying around 116m/s and keep pinging and scan anything that pops within 2.8km of you
Call your ship at any station. Store it, then call a ROC. Move the ROC to the side of the pad... Pull out new ship.. then store and boom now you can start surveying
How do I scan something specifically in the distance
scroll wheel with M+KB controls in scanning mode
V to enter scan mode then aim it at the "unknown" and it should give you a number. singles of hadanite have a sig of 620 but outside of that ignore anything below 5k Scan signature
Thanks fellas much appreciated
96 scu of Diamond lost, was about to soft kill the Raft to see if I could extract the stuck cargo that way but the Hangar beat me to it. Ship was sticking straight up and the hangar ate it. Oh well... Decided to spend more aUEC, rented a Taurus and made back 70% of the lost funds.
Any good recommendations for commodities to buy and sell? I've been moving Diamond and Medical Supplies which seem to net me 80-120k depending on the run. I can't rely on the Cargo hauling missions, I'm at Member level but so far every single missing has been bjorked solar, planetary I either get 1/4th of it to deliver or none at all, or the mission gives twice the amount of cargo needed. Very frustrating
Is there a list of panel salvage locations? I'm starting to wonder if there is a right pattern or its just any L-point station
Looking at the old salvage sheet there isn't really a pattern they're just everywhere
definitely doesnt exist in half of those locations.
tried in CRU L4 and L5 and while it works there, the fact is they're on the easily crashable CRU DGS my progress gets nixed.
Lets say i have a C2 and i want to park it in a friends hanger in MT to pick up his cargo to take it to his hanger in A18. How would that work? Could he call his cargo from my hanger?
yes your friend can be in your hangar with your ship and call their cargo up from the lift
Yep
As far as the elevator is concerned whoever is interacting with it owns that cargo and can send it to or from their inventory, used it a few times to steal drugs
is there a reason to fracture and disassemble ships at this point? It sounds like the mats aren't as valuable as rmc and you can't build anything with them right now. Are people just hoarding them for when base building comes out?
its something else to sell, no point in hoarding them for base building or crafting , we'll likely get another wipe or two before that
ok that's what I assumed but was not sure, since folks on YT vids talk about needing them. Thanks for the confirmation
RMC dropped in price, even so you can still just scrape hulls for it if you want but you can still get a good number of boxes of CMAT , hoard a small pile of them and then sell at 2-2.4k each
I've only collected rmc so far. Does CMAT take up the same space in the filler station? I'm scraping a c2 right now
yeah they take up the same buffer, I would love to see a simple purge button on the Vulture to clear the .2 of cmat if you want all of one or the other
that ability would revolutionize mining too
New to asteroids mining in team. What's best ? Several prospectors or a crewed MOLE ? All rented (for now)
Crewed MOLE, bought.
Rental loadouts suck for both MOLE and Prospector
Saw a Vulture and Reclaimer hanging out near an asteroid cluster in Pyro where I was grinding Pilot in Distress for CP. Not sure if they were in a party. Possible they had salvage missions there? Or were they looking to salvage debris from destroyed fighters? Seems silly to have a spawn point for both combat and non-combat missions.
Yela belt has been a point for every kind of mission forever
I wasin Pyro, not Crusader.
But if you mean that we might expect the same thing, that would make sense.
Yeah I can read. That is what I meant yes.
It's stuff we've already seen. Yela belt been an example for ever, and finding bounty targets while you go on your salvage claim or the other way is very common there
I'd just love to see consistent gameplay where salvage players are mopping up after battles.
Server meshing will only increase this, with a lot more players for the same area, so you may see salvager a lot more often coming to grind stuff after you fought and destroyed NPCs
Love that.
Same, it's great seeing more life in the PU
Does anyone know if there are panels in pyro?
anyone know if price of extra hauling cargo is always at -75% wherever you try to sell it?
Nice work recovering, many of us have lost hundreds of thousands of aUEC. Alas, alpha state
sorry I mean trying to sell the extra cargo
Literally anywhere with asteroids
Any signature that's a multiple of 2000
I have been to nearly every cluster in pyro specifically prospecting, found riccite, stileron, etc. But you ALWAYS see a shitton of panels.
Every L station
Every belt
yep I've been handing out some coin to a few buddies that went to pyro and they're damn near broke because of it. I've been lucky overall so far with only minor nuisances with cargo missions. The game is definitely in an alpha state. Almost no cargo missions in the "Member" category have worked so far. So I'm running commodities till I can afford a Vulture
There's shitloads of money to be made, i've bought a few ships, given away millions, but the best money is very greasy right now.
Mining is solid, but specific types and places. Salvage is great in pyro.
could you help me with mining?
How's mining this patch? And what ores are people going for?
I'm not sure what sort of hardware you have, but my every attempt on every server I've tried (logging out, stowing, waiting 30 minutes to 24 hours before trying again) result in the same behaviour when trying to load: comms stuck in a loop and nothing gets loaded.
Issue Council for reference, in case there's anyone here who might feel tempted to pledge this ship:

I would record a video if my Radeon ReLive wasn't so buggy... 😐
5800x3d 3080. For me the only common issue is that when I enter into the cargo loading box and stop moving, it doesn't start loading. I have to exit and try again until it works
How far away do you fly from the box?
Usually only a small amount, which is probably a mistake
(I'm literally the meme that I've been waiting so long for this ship that I now have a wife & a kid)
Okay, let me try that. I've tried QTing away and returning, but still doesn't work. In fact, QTing away removes the box.
Oh yeah definitely do not qt away. In the text it says you'll lose all your stuff
I also can't retract my landing gear.
Yeah, so what happens when I head into the box is that the comms get into an infinite loop, calling and cancelling over and over, and nothing gets loaded.
Does the white text appear in the middle of your screen
Weird I've never seen a comms loop. I just hear an audio cue after I contact either landing or cargo, then I see an icon telling me where to go
Yeah. There's a white text in the middle of the screen.
I managed to record it. I'll upload it to the issue council.
So no cargo is transferred even with commencing cargo transfer?
Yeah, no cargo is transferred. I'm just stuck in a comms loop.
The weird thing is though that I never have to call the Cargo comms after I made the purchase.
The moment I step into the ship after I've made the purchase, it's already expecting me to go to the box.
i think same for me but i press it anyway while im looking for that box
probably placebo
Any way to get ore bags back on my mole? They fall through freight elevator
They were broken off and repair isn't restoring them
Claim doesn't fix them either
Is there a special way to get a mining facility to recognize my roc?
not really, gotta go walk between your roc and the terminal stuffing as much as you can into your bag/armour
You can't sell directly from the roc itself?
trying to load a Hull C but it says "Commencing cargo transfer" and nothing happens
rip
same issue as Aldaleon
when i had the commencing cargo transfer text it worked 100% of the time
that's 4M down the drain 😦
yup
Sorry friend I crashed, pm me and sure
Been away for a while, have a question about cargo: If I store a bunch of 1 SCU RMC from my Vulture at Seraphim, can I repackage it in the Warehouse to larger containers for transport and sale later?
no
atleast not yet
As far as I'm aware nah can't sell direct, you can however stuff them gems into a 1 SCU box and send that down a outpost or city hangar and sell from there instead of running back and forth doing backpack everytime
You can put the 1 SCU boxes inside 8 SCU storage containers for easier transport, but you'll have to buy the containers and unpack them at delivery point
@wary hare best way I found was to have as big a bag as possible then move from the ROC, to my bag and then to one of the stor all boxes you can buy from the cargo deck. Then store the box using the freight elevator, once in personal storage open the box and drag out the gems. Then sell from local inventory at Admin
It's buggy but I got it to work by spamming the hail cargo deck, then moving to a green box
Yeah I ended up doing this, took me a while to figure out you have to take the gems OUT of the box once you've put the elevator down 😂😂
After loading 6-7 Rookie Hauling missions totaling around 100 SCU of 1 scu boxes and then finally landing in the destination hanger.

after i hail cargo atc (once) the box pops up. then should i spam it more before entering the box?
does the prospect mining head still have a gimbal mode?
I enjoy the Raft. With a Maxlift and 3x32 or 6x16 boxes it is very quick to load and unload. If you have a Raft then you know all about it being slow in atmo and its sluggish handling when loaded. If you don't own one now you know. 🙂
I believe they nerfed it's QT fuel capacity in 4.0 but seeing as I have an infinite loading screen I haven't been able to see how bad it was nerfed.
In star citizen is there any way to work for other players, doing like hauling or mining and getting paid for it?
Only if the other player pays you, some people offer/sell services like that here https://uexcorp.space/home
RAFT is one of my favorites - even though it's capacity is kinda limited
I just love all the ARGO design and industrial vibe - hits the spot
BUT .... C1 technically holds more and is definitely faster and more functional......
If they improved the handling when loaded and had the elevator default to lower deck/exit ship I would definitely fly it more often
I think it will be peak when it has a load/unload function from inside the ship
It would be nice to have the tractor working and interesting to see how they do it. Or they might not worry and do what they seem to like doing with other ships - Raft MKII 🙂
I mean wasn't the whole pitch to have like automated loading and unloading arms
no tractors needed just park on the elevator, dump load and fly off
Oh I had completely forgot about that. Unfortunately with they way they have implemented freight elevators I don't see that happening.
why is the taurus so weird to load cargo onto. Autoload is awkward, and it doesn't fit 2x32SCUs lengthwise for manual loading
If I fully load it I cover the first row with 4scu boxes then put my 32's and 24's on top. iirc loading from the rear was easier than the front but it's been a while
what even is the fit lengthwise? 1x 24 1x 32scu?
yes
gotcha
thanks
I was renting it trying it out, but for fast loading it feels not much better than the 96 scu I can easily get into c1
I guess it's a bit more at 112
Wish the carrack was easier for cargo
@river helm Once you get used to it it can be fairly quick to load. If you go for the full load with the third vertical of 4suc boxes it takes more time. I found it easier to cover the floor with them then load the bigger ones
If it gets a lowering function then you wouldn't need 2 people to load it fully
sounds like an atls is required for it
In theory you can load it with 2x24 and 2x32 and then another 32 slap in the middle. I haven't tried it but apparently it's doable
ATLS is killing people atm
yikes no atls then lol
that's interesting, it did look like that would fit
but that wouldn't snap onto grid right?
haven't tried it but I would say not
