You cannot sell from your ship without using "auto-unloading" which requires the ship to be stored. Loading it into the freight elevator doesn't complete the sale. Instead the transfer complete just means the cargo is now in the warehouse inventory for that location
So instead of selling from your ship, you now pick the station/city in the drop down and sell from there.
However, if you initiated a sale from your ship with auto-unloading and got the "processing" spinning display that never finished, you wont be able to sell at that station.
By cannot do you mean its not working, but it should be?
I believe it is this issue https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-125136
Create an account or sign in to Issue Council. Track bugs on and vote on the issues to help the development team identify what to work on next.
Just going to accept my loss at this point
Auto-unloading is checked by default when you attempt to sell from your ship, but the ship has to be stored and the station has to be functioning (most aren't doing auto-unloading correctly right now) for it to work.
You did it right when you put the cargo in the elevator, just not the selling part
I would go back to the kiosk, select the station/city name from the drop down, and try to sell from there.
I've lost my cargo now, when I sent it down the elevator it accepted the cargo, it just didnt give me the money
Hrmm, suspicious thats never happened to me
Where did you deposit the cargo?
Stationwise.
Seraphim
When you go to the elevator kiosk in your hangar, and the elevator is DOWN (closed door), you cannot see any cargo?
Elevator is now up, no cargo visible
Still empty unfortunately
Ahh welp must have been that selling initiated from an unstored ship probably stole your cargo
You know whe you complete a transfer for a contract and it shows you that it has accepted the cargo and then completes the contract?
Oh, this was contract cargo? A mission was involved?
I got that screen, it just didnt do anything other than steal my shit 😔
No no, its just the same screen that shows up
Oh weird, I have never seen that with selling purchased cargo except for auto-unloading successfully my reclaimer or hull c.
I always put cargo in the elevator, and sell from the city/station otherwise.
Well, I know to do that next time. This was my first hauling trip outside of the contracts so still finding the ropes. Sunk pretty much all of my UEC into it
Hello, i've got a question about the Gatac Syulen. it says it can carry 6 SCU of cargo, im assuming the outside folding trays. does each tray hold 2x1 SCU box or 1 x 2 SCU box ?
It's all 1 SCU boxes I believe, two per uh spar? Arm? Tray sounds right. 🤓
Is it possible to autoload with contracts?
No also just say no to auto load at all right now
ty sir! gonna buy a 1 SUC box and use it as a storage for my guns/gear and stuff from bunkers 😛
Yes that's a good idea just remember anyone can access or just take that box. I used mine to do the 6scu cargo missions too
nice ! ya im really only keeping "extra" the good stuff im keeping inside the Syulen in the gun cabinet or in the storage cubby under the bed
xD
Looks like the ATLS is coming to in-game shops as of .2
Yesterday I was trying to load a Caterpillar with 16 SCU containers for hauling mission. Based on the pinned cargo grid layout I'd expect that each of the 4 modules should be able to snap 6 to the cargo grid (in the space of the 4x24 indicated), but no matter how I tried, I couldn't snap the upper layer to match the lower one. I did fit the 4x 2 SCU under the catwalk, but it seems to me that the upper part of the cargo grid is only 5x5x2, instead of 6x4x2 + 5x1x2. Is that really so, or is there some special trick how to snap the cargo there?
Are there any lights for the Taurus Cargo bay? Can’t bloody see what I’m loading.
No sadly
Really needs lights
Yeah that's a known issue due to the catwalk you can only get 5x16 (or 2x24 + 2x16) per module plus some 2s
The good news is I didn't come across any missions I couldn't fit in, one was very close but got all on grid.
To get 3x16 in the front you need to be inside the bay to get the boxes back far enough
Ok, thanks for confirmation. I stacked several hauling missions and had to squeeze something off grid to fit it all at once. Now I'm feeling bold, I'll try buying 576 1scu boxes with waste and request autoload, let's see what happens...
It said Cargo transfer failed, station stockpile remained the same, but money were deducted from my account. Not exactly how one would imagine "transaction". As a bonus I can't take hauling missions anymore, because I had to abandon 3 yesterday due to nonfunctional freight elevators. Eh, time to play something else for a bit...
How much is the unloading fee for cargo when selling at TDD terminals?
What’s the deal with the 32SCU crates…? Can you sell them?
Not at outposts and scrap yards
What's it a 32 crate of?
Neon
Try cru L4
is the ATLS the preferred method now for loading ships? how much faster does it go vs hand or ship tractor beams?
depends on how much cargo you are auto-unloading? It will tell you when you select that option at the TDD. A lot of people are very wary of the auto-load/unload function. It just doesn't work often or well enough to be trusted in the PU.
to give one example of auto load / unload cost, I have done a few C2 trade runs from Baijini to other places, and it's about 20k to load, 20k to unload, load takes about 7 minutes, unload takes about 5 minutes. For the full 696 scu capacity.
for whatever reason, auto load / unload has worked perfectly on the C2 for the half dozen or so times I have used it. I'm not sure it ever worked on my Corsair (tried a couple of times and gave up). Seems to be somewhat ship dependant.
Do you buy the mix of 32's, 24's and 2's as per the pinned cargo layout? Do you buy them all at once or by size? What order do you buy them in?
I've not had a lot of luck with the C2 which is why I'm asking. TIA
Big fan of being able to yoink a ship, park it at CRU-L4, and sell all the maze from the freight elevator. Much easier than before the cargo update.
yeah, I bought 14x 32's, 8x 24's, and 28x 2's. In that order, one after another. Go back to the ASOP terminal and it says "loading in progress" (or something) with a timer for about 7 minutes. Once that finishes, retrieve the ship and it's all there. Or has been so far 🙂
you can only buy one size at a time, so it's three separate buys, but I don't wait for the previous one to finish loading before doing the next.
Thanks for the info. I'll give it another try next time I'm in game.
The Taurus tractor turret really needs a spotlight mounted to it...
Exactly my thoughts. It’s sad that the cargo bay doesn’t have any controllable illumination.
It's a game changer if your ship is big. Sucks in a Taurus for example, the tractor turret is way better because ATLS is the fast "brute force" tool.
CIG did state that the ATLS is coming to in game shops with .2
So I'll be happy to refund/melt mine
i think there's a reasonable chance we'll see it as a referral bonus within a year, so i'm kinda in the same boat
I bet it'll be like 200k in game
give me your c2 to salvage thanks 😛
What good little fast fighter with interior space is there for like under 85 bucks?
One of the Avengers or 300i
If you need an interior.
125a isn't bad either
300i is nice
i have it as my starter, has 8SCU cargo, 3pilot guns + looks cool and luxurious for a 1seater
nomad packages go for like 60 if im not wrong. can consider that too
I bought like 250k gold from shubin smo18 but I can’t take it out of the warehouse because it say transferring to warehouse I’ve waited 30mins and sever hoped to different regions
Can any one help
There's no help. This is the state of Star Citizen cargo for months now
it's lost
Avenger Titan. It's not that fancy, but has a bit more firepower and HP than 300i.
Damn
i cant take out the cargo cus the screen doesnt work
the freight manager*
im in rappel idk if its bugged or not can someone pls help
Outpost elevator can brake, always check the elevator screen before buying/selling, if it doesn't work you need to change server until you find one that work
So the freigth elevator bug isnt fixed in the 4.0 patch?
what makes you say that?
The 4.0 patch isn't out yet, we're even just still testing the 24.2
I have an avenger titan rn but I’m looking to do more cargo/hauling missions cause sometimes I’m too tired to do combat stuff
Is it possible to earn good money with the titan or do I have to buy a bigger cargo ship?
If so which one
Keep in mind I’m poor both irl and in game
I have the same ship and I started making money by taking corpse retrieval mission in caves in wich I also mined gens to sell them, then you can rent a cargo ship to make trade/hauling
But I don't know the state of gem selling currently
How much money are we talking?
But yeah, titan is a nice starter ship but once you wanna do something a bit more complex its not a great ship (apart for simple hand crates delivery)
Cause right now I’ve done some like 16k hauling contracts with 8 cargo which seems a bit low
For a 1 day rent it can go from 50k to 120k
And you can make it profitable?
Of course, rent a ship with a nice cargo like the taurus, and take multiple hauling contracts at once from a point to another
You will already make around 70% or more of the 1 day renting price
That depends on how efficient you are and the game rng to provide you with nice hauling contracts
But just look at your contract menu and try to find multiple contracts having the same point A and B
Alr, I gotta level up my rep tho
Add their reward together and you'll see what you could make in one trip (if you have the cargo space for it)
I only have the 15k ish ones
Yeah
And what ship is a good cargo ship?
In your opinion
I like the taurus, it has quite a good storage for the starting hauling contracts (174), the raft too can be nice but I find loading the side a nightmare (96), there's also the cutlass black but it only has 46 scu, I just use it to move my refinery jobs
If you wanna have a list of ships to rent for cargo you can go in the cargo center of a leo station and check the renting terminal
Taurus have a tractor beam turet too 😉
Same as tractor beam gun, click on something, move the camera to move it, alt + scroll to change distance, click again to drop or attach to grid
Taurus has 2 cargo areas. The main one which is 168 and a shielded one that is 6.
The main cargo area can fit 14 8scu containers and 14 4scu containers
Where is it rented from?
I believe A18 you can rent it from
Alr thanks I’ll check it out tomorrow
check the rented ship section.
teaching you to fish mate
Yo, hull c working in ptu? Atleast more than in the pu?
how profitable are the hot load missions usually?
anyone having any luck buyiung and selling cargo?
tried SCD-1 on daymar for some gold to sell at MT or Orison... no luck, couldn't even buy. seemed the cargo elevator was jammed
most of the cargo elevators at outposts and salvage yards don't work. The only reliable cargo trade is from / to places with hangers (stations, cities)
I think they have said it's fixed for the next patch. Will see...
I don't know that it's in any of the patch notes, but there are always tons of fixes and changes that don't get documented there
always waiting
got some new VKB gear and lost motivation after just a couple hours of attempted play to even use any of it
the outpost elevators that nobody uses tend to work fine, for what that's worth (ie, the ones that don't sell gold or buy eggs)
so you can always do the hauling missions instead of trade
your #1289401234908781023847 person to ask if cargo trading works. and no gold trading does not work
dont bother with outpost trading. if you do bother, check elevator first before buying the cargo
we need a bot that auto replies "Does cargo trading from outpost work?" / "Does Hull C work?" / "Why isnt the cargo elevator working i waited 30mins stuck on moving?"
ive dropped a bunch of cargo into a warehouse after seeing the commodity terminal wanted me to drop my cargo on the cargo deck, but when i go back it says my cargo is still there. have idone something wrong?
where is "there?"
did you lower the freight elevator?
like you unload into the freight elevator, your supposed to send it down
to get it into local storage
in the ship
i've done that, but it says I have nothing in local storage
I would avoid the method where you create a order sell first then unload, it seems really unreliable.
Either pay for the auto unloading or unload send store first, then go snd sell from your local inventory. Likely you have a bugged transaction now.
where do i sell weevil eggs
Normally at Salvage yards, but they are broken
oh
So we aren't able to sell them right now
unlucky
99% arent working. You might find one here and there, but unlikely
should i just store them at grim hex than?
Yeah
ok
There is a chance for patch 3.24.2 that cargo is gonna be saved, though normally it wouldn't be
we can hope
🫠
Their plan is for a no wipe this patch, but that can always change
so bunkers are essentially not worth rn
You can get maze
Which sells for like 26 or 28k per 1/8 scu
Plus the halloween masks (Though I have done a few and have yet to get one)
selling weapons to players is a thing
This is true
people will pay for the rail guns especially
didnt know that im relativly new
then armor sets too
Depending on the event that is going on, Railguns sell for a good price
check out the market street on top for examples of guns being sold
many people have made their fortunes from selling to players instead of NPCs
Armor is def a good money maker
If you can get rare ones
I really need to do more bunkers
I'm doing em like hell
Got a rail gun once
Put it in my stor*all crate
The crate disappeared when I unloaded it
how i know if they rare?
Mainly just by the looks of them. When you do bunkers, you will see what is normal for gear and then sometimes, you will find something new and they normally look good too
i got a mask from a bounty that looks rare af but i dont know if it is
You most likely got a halloween mask. Which is from the event going on right now
People will buy those
no its not one of those
the halloween ones are bear right?
i got one that looks kinda like a bug
Sound like something that is year wide in this game X)
anyone trynna do bunkers w me?
Ask in #looking-for-session
I had a bug where none of my cargo would go into the destination, so i abandoned the missions. when i came back from afk, my rep now says im not eligible and the missions are gone
is there any way to fix this? my friend tried to share a haul mission of his own with me but it would not show up for me.
too late now, but in the future, never hid the abandon button on the hauling missions. Just log off and back on and it will abandon without rep loss.
i didnt think it would be that bad, i was almost through member rank
I got the same issue. When you say "in the future", you mean after 3.24.2, or in 4.0?
your hauling missions are also gone? how long have your been missing. someone said they might come back on their own but idk
ok, confirmed, this JUST popped up
I mean now on the current patch. They may or may not be changing the rep system for hauling missions in either of those two patches (I don't know, but it's possible).
~2 days already
Ok, starting the game to check it (I was 20% through Experienced rank)
Edit: Nope, still nothing
I got around half way through senior and lost the will to live along with the use of my scroll finger, it's turned into a claw
you don't need to scroll constantly. It doesn't move the box, it just sets the range.
The most efficient way to move the box is to pull it towards you, move and push it away though, I do everything I can to reduce the scrolling such as swinging the box.
Regardless what you do there's still a lot of scrolling
Were you at some specific location? I'm at Tressler and nothing pops up, but maybe if I move to the correct station/city, it'll show up, since some of the missions are location-specific.
No, ATLS
It's gonna be for sale in game soon!! This week probably!
ATLS is garbage for placing boxes, particularly in the Caterpillar, but I do use it for shunting yeah
Any info how much its going to cost?
1 million dollars
It's a brute force tool that works good when you have excess space for the cargo.
Probably like 100k. The MPUV-T was like 250k, and can move vertically (though sucks in general), so ATLS should be much less since it's just a ground tool
Wouldn't be surprised if it was close to a million lol
Can't think of a vehicle that's $40 on the pledge store that costs a mil or more in game. Granted they're all over the place but I'd be shocked if it was more than 200k
it is. But some people tend to scroll constantly the whole time you are moving the box towards you or away from you, and you don't. If you use the right click mode on the tractor beam it will show you the distance to the box, and the set distance as a white line.
I think right click mode is removed in .2
that would be annoying. Might not be an intentional change though. Remember than .2 is actually 4.0 code, so it's very possible that it is a branch that some of the features and fixes in the .1 code never got implemented into
They are trying to bring a QOL improvement by making left click tractor mode and right click traversal so you no longer have to switch which results in having no ADS unless I just didn't figure out the new keybind
what's the difference between tractor and traversal?
Traversal is zero G drag yoself around
Traversal let's you grab onto stuff and pull your body to the object
It's also great for finding which box isn't on grid because it will not move boxes locked to grid but will move them if they are not locked down
ahh, gotcha
that sounds handy
Right now you switch between modes by pressing B
gotcha. Not sure I have ever done that, lol
But a lot of people don't realize they switched and then get undesired behavior
Or they can't switch fast enough and the target they're trying to latch moves out of range
will we ever get ATLS style beams to put on ship tractor turrets?
Probably, since they have the mechanics implemented, they might update some old ships with it. The cashgrab is finished, no need to gatekeep it anymore.
o7
im finding trading cargo commodity extremly difficul to buy or sell
those trading sites are no use right now whats good hauling nowdays
every time i try to do commodity trading or even some hauling missions theres always an issue with a cargo elevator
ive sort of given up until the next update
Commodity trading is pretty much shot atm with scrap yard elevators down.
I didn't have any successful trades in 3.24 yet but around 100 successful hauling missions so I stuck to those ha ha
I only had successful trades in the hull c, believe or not. Made a few runs from SS to Baijini for like 300k
Hephastanite from Baijini or Pyro Gateway to wherever
Is there a chance that I could borrow an Argo srv from somebody to do these hammerhead cleanup missions?
They only pay 10k currently
Yeah in 3.20 they were 250k, but that was heavily exploited so they now pay 10k
They're only good for reclaimer CM farming for the lazy salvager
Ight thx for telling me 😉
Kinda upset they backed off putting the ATLS in the game store for the time being. Was really hoping it would come out with .2
aww, when did they change that?
Someone made a post today in one of the channels, they backed out of bringing the ALTS to in-game stores on .2 release, but if I understood it right, it will still come out in .2, just not right away and now theses ships are being added to the in-game store.
Mirai Pulse
RSI Ursa Medivac
ARGO MPUV-1T
Aegis - Sabre Firebird
Something strange is going on because they removed the new rentals that were added in 3.24.1 and closed down the IC as not a bug. Be a shame if we're back to just the old few rentals
I can't even fully remember what all was added for .1
Ships like the Hull A/RAFT/Taurus
Hopefully it's just an oversight
The roc can fit into the freelancer now right?
The latest patch notes say they added it
oh?
And also says the outpost elevators are fixed
Hull A was a excellent rental for me as a newbie
only needs 4x 16SCU to fill up for cargo trading
i hope they dont remove it
I thought about buyign a Hull A
Not the biggest cargo space compared to what I have, but seems like a little fun ship
when the wipe comes at 4.0 i will need that hull A again cos im back to my starter 300i lol
I go back to my Mustang lol
Hull A 64SCU is nothing to laugh at, but it only requires 4x 16SCU to load / unload
really nice starting out vessel
Yeah
for cargo trading
Though, I refuse to spend anymore money in this game. As I am from Canada and a Mustang itself was 70
Which I don't think is worth it for a game that hasn't come out yet
But I wanted to play SC lol
my pledge was from Aug 2013. i will not and have not spent anything more lol
So had to do it
i literally touched game first time 3weeks ago
too much of a buggy mess to justify spending more
also prices are insane. im not spending 300 USD on a ship
For some reason, I thought it would of been more lol
well...considering its going for USD $40 on the pledge store, i was expecting more too 😛
Yeah
That is what I was going off
I assumed 200k
In game prices don't really correlate to pledge prices very well
considering the ROC is like 100k, 70k for the ATLS seems reasonable. It's just a tractor beam after all.
Whats the difference between using the ATLS and the max lift?
Youtube
A lot
Are the cargo elevators on the scrap yards still broken?
Yep, they will be broken until patch 3.24.2 comes out
Mh ok I got a lot of eggs and think they will be gone with 24.2…
There is a chance they might not be this time around. It looks like they want to try to keep everything when .2 drops. But of course that can change
It will be a soft wipe anyways, consumables, ammo and commodities
Stored commodities are not yet persistent
Thats the thing, they want to try to bring them over this upcoming patch.
what happens if I get 30k with a ship full of mission cargo? I know there is a safety for "normal" cargo but how does it works for missions?
nvm it took time but I logged back in to the exact moment 30k happened
So, when the game crashes (either because the game crashed for some reason or you Alt + F4) the game will keep you in the game for a short amount of time, so when you come back, you are where you were when you crashed. With this being said, you are still in the game while trying to log back in, so because of this, someone can come and kill you or something can happen to you while logging in.
This doesn't matter what you are doing, what cargo you have or where you are in the game, this fail safe will happen, as long as its a crash.
The cargo stays in your ship on server recovery but the mission is cleared at no rep loss. You just have useless cargo to dump.
I still have the missions. unloading now so idk if it'll work or not but so far no problem
That's not a "30k" then. You had a crash and got crash recovery
literraly said 30000 error
The old 30k is gone. It's probably some personal error now
Well I should say 30k can still happen if the server can't recover after it says "server error"
all missions validated (except one because crate went thru the floor xD
idk man it said 30k error then took me around 10min to log back and I was at the exact same place when I got kicked out 🤷♂️
Is Hull C trading working in PTU at the moment?
Tried earlier, but could not get it to olad to the Hull C at Station
So since 3.24 I haven’t done any commodity trading, and I understand a lot of people haven’t since you haven’t been able to move the cargo at outposts very safely, at least not without security which does add a fun org / friend component. Have they said if there is a plan for this, like the mech suit or something? Sorry - I haven’t even tried, just done cargo contacts
Security isn't really the issue, lack of working freight elevators seems to be the biggest impediment
Ah, that tracks. Thanks 😂
Like always the biggest risk in SC are bugs lol.
I think I'd actually prefer to be ganked vs exploding for no reason
I have been told it works on PTU for commodity trading, and I have made it work on Live.
The key is docking or having your hull c retrieved in a hangar when you buy at the kiosk before calling cargo ATC, then you gotta dock at the destination station, walk to the kiosk in admin and initiate the commodity sale before requesting cargo ATC
All while avoiding impounding with your spindles extended
And the ship cannot be damaged
Auto loading the Retaliator working now? Or a drop down elevator like the Taurus?
What we all thinking stick with freelancer max or upgrade to the CL?!?!
Or wait for freelancer gold pass
Gold pass for all the cargo related ships is likely miles out
If anything happens, I imagine RSI ships will go first since a lot of RSI tech has already reached peak, then they’ll trickle down as the tech is established across any newer ship releases
I'd hope that misc isn't too far behind as it's getting a seemingly cargo focused shio
Hi, new (ish) player here. My rental on an avenger titan that I was using for cargo hauling just ran out, and I'm looking to rent something a bit bigger for solo hauls. Looking at ship prices and cargo sizes, is the freelancer a good choice?
Yes. Freelancer is always a good choice for cargo.
Beauty, thanks
For the same price of a freelancer u can get a cutlass black which imo is a better hauler as fully utilizing the freelancer it’s more tedious trying to get the 12scu into the small forward hold via the door which is barely wide enough
And the black can pull the cargo from either side and back which makes it easier for starting haulers
Even renting is almost same auec value
Huh, good to know, I'll take a look. Thanks!
The spirit is also available for rent
I’d say it’s the best of those small haulers
Really good cargo layout
if you want to do pure cargo hauling (im talking abt the missions) i think cutlass black better for that price range. if you want to do trading (station trading only), i suggest Hull A, also around that price range for rental + only need to load 4x 16SCU, save a lot of time n effort for the haulers
how much the rent
90k
A bit high
But it’s a great general purpose ship
With really good hauling capability
The hull A is better for pure cargo hauling
But the spirit is really good for multipurpose stuff
yeah he's a newbie thats looking at freelancer rental range
i wouldnt suggest 90k rental
unlikely he can make profits easily at that price haha
especially if just cargo hauling
Imo the c1 spirit is a very significant upgrade to the freelancer for hauling missions
The cargo layout is just so much better
It’s almost as good as the hull a but has the benefits of internal cargo
Cargo missions where we haul vehicles when
Refinery is the 50k price
When we actually need ship carriers
Like the kraken
Its a big cool ship
No big use tho
Perhaps with more systems capital ships get more usage
I mean even something like a C1 or a Cutty to transport luxury gravlev
Entry level vehicle delivery
My MAX is making me angry. Really odd interior shape, unused second cargo bay.
My org leader is a FreeMax hater
He wanted to kick somebody cuz he said it was neat
***BE ADVISED *** All cargo elevators on the ground locations work currently in the ptu at this time. Stations, and cities obviously as well. Also the new event is pays out well, and also in some of the splicer/pirate freelancers that are attacking the target your suppose to protect you will find lots of weevil eggs and drugs. Payout is great on both sides. Cargo hauling is back baby.
I'll remain skeptical until I see them still working in live a week or two after patch. They work in live now, for a while, then people break them somehow. The PTU builds only stay up for a day or so. Might not be enough time for them to break. Hopeful, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Things can work perfectly in one stage and then ship to live and everything breaks
Yep, like the issue with hauling missions when 3.24 first went live. People weren't abandoning missions in PTU, so they didn't see the problem till it went live.
o7 so i did scrap to papayro gateway pick up hepsendites or how its caled to area 18 =profit
made more in few hours yesterday than whole 3.24.1 combine xd
grats! also just want to say i think its impressive to see 3x spelling mistakes in 1 sentence 😛
haha
i sleep only one hour plus english is not my primary language
now that i had 2x strong coffee its good
🙂
+aint morning person
and diamonds from wala ar corp 48 to microtec also good just need to figure out what to haul back
🙂
guys
im looking at the cargo boxes for RSI Taurus
what does the 2x 2SCU + 2x 1SCU infront mean?
like infront?
That is for the shielded cargo where the snub would be
You can fit 168scu on the elevator and 6scu in the shielded area
We already tried breaking them in multiple ways and the lifts still work.
That's cool, but it still might break when it ships to LIVE
I am cautiously optimistic
Fair enough. Lol . By the way we went down to SCD-1 gold on daymar and literally stuck a 32scu in lengthwise sticking out the door when it closed and the elevator still took it down and stored it and were able to recall it several times. We were all blown away at out stupid it looked but it worked. Fair enough though.
By the way you know when you look up inside the taurus before the elevator goes up after its filled there like an empty channel along the spine of the roof in the direct top of the cargo? You can put another 24 scu along the center of that.
You see Taurus right on the left side right XD could have drawn it on that one
It has to be perfectly placed in the middle if not it will collied with the sides. Test this by having yourself/or other sit in the seat and close/open all doors while someone watches or you use 3rd person camera to ensure the cargo stays in the middle.
Yes but its all the same to me. You can do it in all of them actually.
You can do it more in the taurus because of the extra length
Does cargo hauling make good money?
Commodities yes when the elevators are working
the actual hauling missions not really unless you grab multiple from one spot and go direct to city or station to station
If you don't fill the 3rd layer of containers in Constellations, you can directly slap 2 more 32 SCU containers in
- 2x24 for Taurus. But of risk doing this, but nothing too hard
How good do the hauling missions get?
best money in them, in my experience, is in stacking multiple small missions to the same location(s). At experienced rank I have a circle route around some Hurston mining outposts from a distribution center that can make about 275k / hr if I remember right.
but the pay doesn't scale well based on number of SCU hauled in my opinion. For example, a 500scu mission should take into account that you need a 19m credit C2 to reasonably do them and pay accordingly (gotta make the payments on that ship, ya know), and they just don't
how much do the better hauling missions pay? im at junior rank, so the better ones pay 27k
ahh, it's been a couple weeks since I have done any, but If I remember right, in the 50-60k ish range at experienced
🤷♂️
that's for you to decide. Like I said, stacking a few can be decent pay. Not the best money in the game, but not bad for missions with virtually zero risk
i mean there is always the risk of accidentally ramming into the back of your hangar with a full load of about 3 missions (i speak frome experience)
cargo missions were design with the intention to get the new player familiar with the career loop. Then its up to the player to branch out and actually trade using their knowledge and money to make bigger capital on bigger runs.
Pretty sure they were created to tie into distribution center factions for the larger vision of commodity trading while providing players with a means of earning income via cargo without risking their own capital
i wish station trading was more profitable, considering outposts are all fked up right now
i just did Terra > New Babbage TDD heph run on my taurus, 174 SCU of cargo
profit only 50.9k per run
i mean its pretty risk free, besides potential bugs / losing of cargo / random ship blowing up / hangar incidents
but profit margins are low
like 8-9% per run
You can make over 300k per trip in a Hull C that works well and only costs about 1mil investment... of course that's a really expensive cargo ship.
what gives you 30% return?
1m investment with 300k profit
i know. theres nothing that gives a 30% profit
thats what im calling
only gold has a 30% profit margin
we dont do gold trading. outposts not workign
The first one on the list, at least for me is 419k for the run
Buys for 944,640 and sells for 1,363,968
And it is trading Helium
Are there any contracted cargo runs that have boxes over 8scu? I was hoping for that once I hit Member rank but alas. Want to put my freelancer max through its paces but so far just been stacking 4-5 small missions at a time on Everus and only end up using ~65scu of space on average.
There are, the containers you get are depended on the amount of cargo you are picking up
this is what i saw when i decided to do heph from terra to new babbage (closer than orison)
What website is that from ?
How long does it normally take for the pinned post about all the ship loadouts to update? I assume a few days or a week or so?
I think more likely a week or two,, takes a hot minute to check each loadout and wait and see what current meta is from others
That is fair
Also, that was the wrong chat and I am now just noticing that I posted in the wrong chat lol
I wish they fix the hull c tho
Thanks
The hephastenite routes show up in SC Trade Tools too, but not for the Hull-C as there isn't a good sell point that supports the ship 🙂
Here they are for the C2
You can customize with the profit over time vs overall profit, "must have hangars" locations, etc. 😄
And here's the raw data, if you're more into that!
You mean for missions? We'll have to see. Haven't gotten any feedback from PTU players if they made it up to experienced to see if Hull C worked for missions, but it works for standard commodity trading.
Gold is working now in the ptu fyi. Fingers crossed.
dude this linked broke my sc trade tools, no matter what i do now it doesnt work
i cant look up anything
How lol
Like you close trade tools and reopen it?
It brings me to this page when I click on it
Which is the page I was trying to share
Weird, there is no reason for that link to cause anything
did you click on the home button and then back to the trading routes?
it doesnt even show up
yep i did
brings me back to the same page
with the hull c
Might have to do a restart on your pc. But that is weird it would cause a bug like that
It was just a normal link I copied from my webpage
no its all good
Just weird that it happened
as closing it should of reset everything
Super strange.
This is caused by failed network calls to the server.
I'd be curious to see what the developer network tab (F12) shows 🤔
Refreshing the page might help. I'll try to see if the server is having issues.
alredy tried refreshing, didnt work
CTRL+F5 might help if it's the local cache.
I'll investigate this afternoon.
what ship has the most scu capacity that can be rented right now? apart from the caterpillar
can only hold 96 ☠️
There aren't many ships period (rentable or not) between 120scu at the Caterpillar.
will other ships be able to be rented or even pledged during citizencon?
If there's a freefly then likely that there'll be ships to nab off the rsi site for the duration of freefrly
you can rent the taurus 174scu
Yeah Taurus
Are the freight elevators fixed?
Not yet, once .2 drops they should be working fully. You might be able to find a working one if you keep server hoping, but most are not working
i just requested some ship components in my freight elevator. is there a way to get this in some boxes? theres a lot of individual pieces
Buy boxes at a cargo center, put them in using the freight elevator terminal
are there any red terminals that work?
yeah, they don't work how? I used the one at L4 last night
Yes, and whatever the one at L4 is. Shallow Field maybe?
It's server dependent as the terminals can be broken but probably 50% or more are fine. Try another region
The patch is now released...
Feels so weird having working outpost lifts, Ive never experienced this before
This makes me happy to hear, did you try out multiple outposts?
get your gold sir
abuse it now
Are all salvage yards broken? Im trynna sell some gasping weevil eggs but i remember some time ago somebody told me scrap yard elevators didnt work
The game just updated. So they should be working
Bet thanks
Wow what?
Ohh
Right
As in ive lost all the cargo i have
Does that also mean our money gets reset or nah?
Like am i back to 25k??
I was reading up they wanted to bring cargo from .1 over to .2 but they werent sure if they could do it
No
Thank god
for now
Well just gotta pray i didnt lose any cargo
80-90% chance we did
Have tried 2 so far, but they're not busy ones. Hoping for the best
I won't be touching outposts even if I have my cargo still
That's awesome man, super happy to hear they are working. Hoping they continue to stay fixed.
Will wait until I get onto a low pop server lol
Yeah, I mean don't get pirated lol.
If outposts stay working, then we got pirates back
I have 100+ SCU of eggs and I am in no rush.
Same
Lost all cargo
Nooooo! Dude I’m sorry that’s terrible. I haven’t had a chance to check yet.
Wonder if everyone lost the cargo
Most likely. They didnt say in the patch notes we would be keeping it
But there was some talk beore hand that they might try to save cargo nad bring it over. But looks like it didnt happen
Yeah I lost all cargo too
I gave up, can't pull any of my ships out and I am on a server with 14 others. High SFPS and Band In/out
Just gonna wait until tmr, maybe things will work themselves out
Well, it's been 2 hours and the freight elevators at SCD-1 are not working right :/
shocking!
Cant even buy the ATLS
Honestly, this might be the causes of the servers shitting themselves with how many players are joining
For sure, think I'm going to leave it for tonight and hopefully come back when things have calmed down a bit
Same
I just wanted to mess with the MFD screens and get used to how things are
Time for some WoW
I managed to get a ship, go to Lorville (took a while and a server hop to get them to give me a hanger), buy an ATLS, and go buy gold at SCD-1, but I can't get it to come up the elevator. The elevators WORK, so that's progress, but it's very intermittent for my gold to show up in the freight manager. If I go to the buy terminal I can see it, so it's there, it just isn't showing in the elevator. And one of the elevators has some boxes sticking through the side...
Cargo wipes on updates
Wish we could just auto load the ships
But I guess that would also make it too easy for that kind of stuff
it makes real world sense though that auto loading is only available at major cities and stations. And at small outposts, you're on your own.
It does
just sucks when the game doesn't let you play the game 🙂
You don't see Amazon drivers loading their own trucks... or heavy haulers...
About that
For the most part, Amazon drivers do load their own trucks lol
They are given a big cart with packages and they gotta put it into their trucks how they want
I noticed RMC is buyable again
But its 21k+ at some lagrange points mow
So it wasn't a big profit maker
Oh
And it still was a 2k per SCU worth of profit trade
With it being bought for 21k now i think thats over now though

Leaves gold and heph as the viable runs
Thought RMC wasn't only buyable at 4 locations
Nope
Pretty much any lagrange point with a PB
well, I bed logged, and now I can't log back in. Just no button for it on the main menu. Nice
This is gonna be one fun patch...
yeah, it's pretty rough. Wonder how many hot fixes it will take before it's playable. 3.24.0 was similarly rough. Honestly calling this one a .2 patch probably gives everyone the wrong impression... this is 3.30.0
there were a few pretty quick after .24 and 24.1 Wouldn't surprise me if it's the same this time.
how much is it costing now?
any profit margins?
They were saying 21k I believe before hand. So more expensive to buy then it is to sell
sadge
What do i have to do to make the hull c useful now?
Yeah, @ocean compass, theyve officially killed RMC trading in its entirety
As TDDs are buying for like 13k-14k
Honestlg whats the point of making it buyable if it cant be sold anywhere with a profit
So now which one is the best for trades ?
BRIOS elevators STILL broken
3 patches later, where ya at CIG?!
im done spending a penny until this shits fixed, regretting the purchase of the ship i made just a few hours ago... geezx
i managed to buy 53 SCU of gold from SCD01 in my server
sold them all
$$
first gold trade done ever
Anyone tried the Hull C in the Live today?
Small outpost cargo elevators got fixed or we still unable to use them ?
are weevil eggs sellable now or still not working?
Some people have got the elevators to work while others are having issues with them
where do you sell weevil eggs
Salvage yards
how do i find them
oh thank you
working now. traded gold entire afternoon
does looting stuff to sell count as trading?
Did we end up losing all our cargo?
If I remember correctly, left click to move yourself around in zero g and right click to pick up stuff
Yes
Yay! then i've found a new home
It says no module
:(
did you put the tractor beam attachment into your mutlitool? :o
Back to being poor then
Cargo is always wiped on new patch. There was a small chance it wasnt gonna happen this time around, but it did
i'm a bit worried about my profession though...
i went to zephyr, finn's folly, and picker's field last night and didn't find any loot
like.... not even a chemlight D:
Could be bugged
my friends told me that the random loot boxes were seriously toned down :<
!fit
Haven't had a chance to get in game yet, but I assume stored commodities got wiped with the patch?
It did
RIP all those eggs we never got to sell.
I saw that coming from a mile away
I mean yeah, they got wiped last patch, but i can dream, right?
Gotta buy the truhold tractor beam attachment, you can get em pretty much anywhere there's a multi tool
Had to relog
Multi tool didnt work at all
Now left click is traversal and right click tractor beam
question did they finaly fix elevators at scrapyards?
According to #bug-hunt-chat message they have not
ok
thx
so not surprised
Is it a hot take to say that C1 is better and easier to use than Zeus??? I can't even use a ATLS with Zeus ... and 8SCU make it more like 96 SCU ..
idk if I am just on a jacked server, but the Zeus does not polished in terms of cargo grid, door spacing, and ATLS compatibility .. Beam position is kinda nice but the rest makes me miss the C1 loaner
Does the caterpilars tractorbeam reach the front and how easily can you transfer the cargo with it?
does the outposts/ground bases fixed now for cargo in .2?
nvm just read the messages above, guess elevators still broken
Is there a way to auto load the hull c?
There's only 1 loading method for the Hull C (ATC Cargo)
That seems to not be working.. so i thought they changed it
It's always been flaky
So how do i buy mass cargo with hull c now its seems i cant buy a full load anymore
Probably that's supply/demand issue
I find the C1 a far more enjoyable daily and cargo runner. Will be getting rid of my Zeus asap, likely for a Starlancer
C1s tractor is also easier to use in my opinion than the CL
It's completely absurd this is still a problem
does anyone know if Planetary Cargo elevators have been fixed? or if Brios has ben fixed?
I agree. The opening is not ideal, the third layer (height) is essentially useless .. the ATLS doesn't work with it at all, and there is so much room on the sides .. you can only get 96 SCU in there if you use the grid
C1s also better looking, no idea what everyone's smoking 😁
Only advantage is the ladder second entrance and docking collar
From what I've heard they were reset, but bug was not fixed. In a few weeks all the outpost elevators will likely be broken again
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
How do I get this stupid drag mouse crap to go away when using a tractor beam? I want direct mouse inputs, not some relative mouse junk. Almost impossible to stack boxes accurately.
The FPS mouse rotation toggle in the options isn't working.
If you are talking about ship tractor beams, it used to be Q in .1
Q or E, but I believe it was Q
How's trading these days? Haven't played since Jan this year
The new patch has some issues with the outposts elevators and autoloading... so it's rough 😅
Less than ideal, looks like my hiatus continues 😂 I saw 4.0 in evocati the other day (unless I dreamt that), should be fun when that releases 😂
Autoloading has since stopped working since this patch
Outpost elevators are mostly working tho in exchange
Gold trading is back. Piracy js back
not in my experience. Did the hotfix fix them?
i have been running gold entire day
since new patch
not a single problem
made a few millions now
I'll have to go see if I can get mine. I bought a load a couple nights ago before the hot fix (after .2), and while the elevators appeared to be working, when I sent it down my cargo never showed up in the RH side. Checked again in the buy terminal and it was listed there though. Tried the next day and the elevator was completely non responsive (although not stuck on "transferring to warehouse" like they used to be).
Could of been the server health too. As I have noticed they are pretty bad depending on which one you get into
I heard gold trades are good, anywhere I can read up on this to learn more?
I know where to get it, but not how to load it to the ship or wjere to send it
use this see routes, where to buy, where to sell
Oo thank you, should be very helpful
loading cargo into ship you will need a tractor beam, pyro utility tool with tractor attachment, or a maxlift
i usually run a maxlift
but cost 19k each
I have trac beam but when I tried to buy it never gave option to
how to load ship, buy the commodity in the storage buildings on the sites SCD01 or SM18
run out to freight elevator, call it up
then use tractor load onto your ship
? you mean you have pyro utility tool but no tractor beam function? go to cargo center look for attachment & tractor attachment
This might have been a bug so im gonna go check it out again.
after load to ship. fly to sell destination, call hangar, enter it, send cargo down via the freight elevator, run to TDD to sell
done
When purchasing the cargo, mind the measurements of your cargo grid when selecting the container sizes. So you don't buy stuff that actually can't fit into your ship.
words can only convey so much, i suggest youtube videos or find an actual guide, or shadow someone trading
yes dont buy a 24scu container when your ship has 8scu of cargo space
I have 66
i dont suggest cargo trading unless you have a lot of extra aUEC to risk
fyi
dont trade what you cant afford to lose
server unstability is a thing
Thats true. Im half tempted to just stick to haulage
Mainly because its easy for me
last time i would have suggested newbies to do safe trades using the station to station/tdd trading
but now autoloading is broken
i wouldnt recommend trading as a gameplay loop for new players
chances are they will lose everything
If you want to do a test run to learn the ropes, don't start with gold, but try beryl or meds instead. Profit is ~1/4 compared to gold, but with much better chances to avoid bugs and pirates.
simply manual load
any tips so boxes don't block the view with ATLS? it's making life pretty difficult to store things properly
Also does it also happens to you when you load with ATLS and put a box on a grid you can't remove it with ATLS? . I have to switch to multitool to unlock it from grid
Right, I just got back into SC, and wondering how the Hauling missions work. I accepted the trial mission thingy, got the freight onto the elevator, but now I need to find the tractor beam attachemnt for the multi-tool. Is there a way to automatically load them or do I need to do it manually?
hauling missions must be manuall loaded / unloaded (unless you are using a Hull C, if I'm not mistaken).
OK
How much cargo can I get with these hauling missions?
And ofc the station I'm at doesn't sell the tractor beam attachement
The starter ones begin with 4-6, then expect small ones ~10, medium ~100 as well as huge ~2k ones. It's usually money-wise better to stack several small ones with same origins/destinations.
But I have to manually load them with the tractor beam, each individual box?
Yes
Each mission says what the maximum box size is, and the load is then packed with as much as possible biggest ones, and the rest to fit. So if you have 100 scu mission with 8 max, you'll get 12x8 + 1x4 scu boxes
No worries, the 2k aren't packed in 1scu containers 😀
Ok
What's the max size of a box and what can the handheld multi-tool beam carry?
I have a C1 btw
Max box size is 32, but in lower level missions you won't get past 8. The multitool can hold 16 on a short distance, slow and cumbersome. C1 can carry 2x32 (plus a third 32 off grid), that should suffice you to grind through rookie and junior levels fast.
So how could I load a 32 then?
C1 also has its own tractor, much more powerful. Good for yeeting the boxes on longer distances (and then use the multitool for fine work)
maxlift tractor beam, from the cargo centre at a station
Cheers
The C1's beam will also work if you don't mind getting in and out of seats
I didn't see that one in the station I was at
All the planetary stations will, but the one's at the legrange points don't
Multitool with attachment costs ~700, maxlift 19k. You can only get maxlift at the cargo deck at one of the big spaceports above planets (edit: gateways too)
Port Tressler didn't
A good place to run hauling missions is microTech or Hurston, since they have distribution centres. Outpost elevators are often bugged, while DC elevators work ok, you can request landing inside protected hangar there, and the missions are better aligned to/from same DC.
Afaik it's listed as personal weapon
Cool
Also, is there a list of ships that can dck to stations rather than land in hangars or pads?
It's only the biggest ones I think, Hammerhead and 890
How to buy shit with the hull c?
Highly recommend waiting until stable servers are realized as right now it would be a massive gamble to use the Hull C
If I die with loot/cargo from a transport/retrival mission am I charged the value of the item?
No but if the mission fails because your ship and cargo explode you lose massive amounts of rep
Oh that’s not that bad
What ship would you recommend doing cargo runs in? Also is there a way people can pull you out of hyper space? Or would they have to wait at expected destinations for delivery
Did they only scrap the rep loss for abandon then and not fail too?
is the carrack useless for hauling? how do you access the cargo holds?
no easy access
Useless
1st
What's the expected hauling scu count
Like 50 or more like a 100
2nd
There are multiple ships capable of snatching you out of quantum and/or disabling quantum
any tips for hauling inna freelancer max
The free max has good cargo but people kill just cuz they saw a freemax
The one option I can clue you in on if you're paranoid about the quantum traps is to perform the dog leg manuver. Here's the basic idea: Say you are QT from MT to Crusader. About 90% of the way to Crusader drop out of QT travel. Re-align to a station or Gateway "above" Crusader. Travel to that new spot for say 10-15 seconds. Re-align back to Crusader and finish your jump. Since the Mantis has a range of some 20KM this tactic will make you arrive away from the pirate's path. However getting trapped is a rare occurance anyway so its up to you.
The freemax is a hated ship from I've seen
I still have one and use it occasionally but it's good for ROC mining. The rear turret is right there if there's trouble coming.
Thanks, I’m trying to see how much I can use experience from ED to play better here lol
If you have bigger ships with bigger loads, do the missions change to reflect the ship you’re in?
No they don't. The hauling missions have a lot of variety in the amount of cargo you will have to haul, ranging from a few SCU up to hundreds and thousands if you're brave enough to try them with a HULL C. Box sizes go up as you climb the rep ladder. It's really up to you to pick and choose which missions you want to accept.
I point it in-between the two spots and use free look to look left and right.
I need some help
The freight elevator interfaces keep showing "transfering to warehouse" and loading but it doesn't seem to stop, anything I can do?
Find the related IC and contribute to it, and then hope that eventually they manage to fix it.
Si im guess it's not just me thrn
It's been an issue for a while now, and I think they've tried some fixes for it, but may not have fixed every cause.
Does anyone know if the Argo CSV fits in a freelancer? 🤔
The release for it has it in a cutlass (I think) but anyone know about the freelancer?
It'll fit if a cyclone fits
It goes in the C1 fine which I think has less width clearance
Which is better for cargo hauling
Lots of access to the cargo grid or very deep cargo stores
Honestly it depends how you prefer to use the space but extra off grid space like the Corsair has for example can be advantageous over a ship like the Freelancer Max when you have a lot of 8scu boxes
wanted to see if I can do a cargo mission with the csv only, is this possible? What missions/locations should I look for?
not worried about doing multiple runs for one mission -
the csv... as in the new ground vehicle?
yup
I dont think Ive seen or heard of any ground to ground missions on the same planetary body, and it would be a nightmare to navigate, unless i missed any navigation improvements in ground vehicle operation this patch
I would steer clear of any planetary pick ups/drop offs unless it's from a Distribution Centre or the major city. Most if not all outpost freight elevators are still bugged. Do missions at your current rep level as they give more xp. All missions at a particular rep level give the same xp.
Thoughts on the Stralancer max being an upgrade from the Taurus?
More cargo space, but loss of a tractor beam on the ship makes it interesting
As long as you don't wanna do solo combat then sure!
Taurus can be a pain to load even with the tractor turret
what would be the biggest ship a solo player can manage for hauling?
Mid Size Ships and lower
And with this new Ship it will be the Starlancer MAx
yea I might have a partnet sometime I was just worried if that would be too much for one person to manage
As long as one doesn’t get into combat with it I think starlancer max will be fine😅
It’s just a question of how often will things break an engineer needs to fix while in flight.
Not bad! I can’t wait to check it out at IAE
I wish we didn’t have to wait for IAE
I need to pick up a package 500km away from the closet travel point, can you travel to places directly or do I just gotta thug it out
See if there is an Orbital marker between you and it. You can try dropping out of quantum partially through it to try and get closer
Like a hull c is fine solo
What’s the button to drop out of quantum?
B. Same one you use to spool it up. Just hold it to drop.
An important thing to remember is you can do this between orbital markers, but if you do this on ground locations it will fly you all the way there and cans drop out
Takes some time to get the timing right be warned😅
You might also have to temporarily untrack the mission to see other q markers. Fyi
You can power off your ship to force yourself out though
Huh, did not think about that
You can also just hold Left Mouse Button. The same button you click to go into QT, you can hold to stop QT
How dumb would it be to melt my Taurus and buy a CL? Like more I fly my ES the more I consider it.
if you dont need the extra 46scu of grid storage from taurus, doesnt seem too bad
IAE I’m either going do downgrade the Taurus to a CL, upgrade to a starlancer max, or do nothing. The Zeus is like the perfect sized ship for me but the more cargo space the better
Hey gamers. What ship do you recommend to do hauling with an ATLS?
c2 works fine last i tried, caterpillar you can get em up there but cant really see where the boxes are going lol
C2 used to work fine. This patch the ship sits too low so whenever you open the ramps the ship will start bouncing from side to side
Are the cargo elevators at surface outposts still as broken as last patch or are there occasionally working ones now?
They should be working just fine now
Definetly C2
You can drop out of orbital quantum by just turning all power off and it will drop you out just takes a second to boot back up
You don't need to to allat, you can just switch to SCM mode, unless you're in the deacceleration phase
Else, just use LMB
they are mostly working now
But currently the game servers are bad/broken
Really
yes
What trading center do people usually buy illicit cargo from? Preferably one with no armistice
It's a trap!
You don’t, you either steal it or grab it out the back of ships after they have been soft deathed when doing high level bounties
You can also buy RMC (illegally) at pickers field on Hurston and sell it off at a TDD (or admin I can’t remember)
So thats probably a good place to hide and nab the ships of people who don't secure their ships
Yeah except buying RMC costs more than it's worth to sell so may be wait a long time lol
People like to sell at Brio's
Usually drugs like sex eggs
Are you trying to run cargo or pirate?
If they're buying, they'd leave the ship. I stow away on it until they take off and quant, then I hijack
pirate
If you want to Pirate, Brio's is probably the best in my opinion
People go there all the time to sell drugs from Vaughn missions, especially now that they work again
Can't pull funny shit tho
Wait until they land, kill them and steal their ship
Fair, guess its just best to take a sniper and take out white suits
For Brio's I'd reccomend more of a desert camo approach
As it's on Daymar
"White suits" as in people who aren't armoring and gearing up
Oh right
Just taking default white suits and helmets
People will most likely run armored at Brio's tho as they know it's a bit risky
I still remember like 2 years ago when in a bounty operation I learned that you can camouflage on Microtech by laying in the snow, because you eventually get covered in it and blend in
Oh yeah
Yep, mt and it's moons are nice for that
Lmao all my friends servers are full, except one that is on 99/100
Would like to see something similar on daymar where the longer you lay in one spot the more sand slowly builds around you
For camping at Brio's I'd buy some Defiance Desert at Grim HEX
First I wanna set up my caterpillar base, but then I'll start doing that
Caterpillar base?
Probably food ammo and armour
I'm gonna try set up a caterpillar as a sort of mobile home base
ah
food, armor, weapons, etc
I have bought a couch, some chairs and a table
nice
First pod is gonna be a living/meeting space, second probably food
Rest is cargo and scavenge
They order from a terminal > walk to elevator and call it up > it comes up and they start unloading into their ship
oh found it
Best part is I actually own a caterpillar pirate so this is gonna be neat
nice one
Right, so if you see a caterpillar in the vicinity of brio's, blow it up and leave...

Not gonna take the caterpillar
If I'm gonna steal a ship why would I take something so large
You do actually get a bit camoflagued from running around on Daymar
Oh nice so the sand clings, I was imagining something more along the lines of a sand dune or going to a beach and seeing some kids bury their friend in the sand
So how are you guys using the new Argo ground vehicle? I’m just using it to cart around stuff in the hanger to my ship
Was gonna nab one but realized I was gonna need to melt alot of stuff lol, most of my hangar is small 15-3 USD buys for paints and armour lol
I don't suppose they've improved trading yet? Like any reason to move max inventory junk like waste? I've not played in months.
Nah and trading is in kinda a tough spot rn with most outpost elevators breaking often
Trading itself is in a rough spot. But hauling cargo from point to point can be fun. But it’s more being a truck driver for a company than a real trader buying low and hoping to sell high.
I'm hoping for an eventual loop. Pick up ore at mining site, move it to station, pick up waste, bring it back to mining site etc
Or pick up refined ore, move it to factory, factory to planet, waste back to moon for recycling
It somewhat exists. You just have to look through the hauling missions to find a good path. Don’t know if pay gets better though. I’m on rookie and contracts average between 18k and 22k a mission
Ok I popped back in the other day just to test but didn't do much. Forgot to bring a tractor beam 🙂
It gets better. 50-60k per mission at experienced rank. And there are some areas where you can stack 3-4 missions at a time to the same locations.
That’s good! Guess I have a ways to go grinding through the reputation needed
I'm just more looking for logical stuff, dynamic proces based on who is doing what. I had enough of farming same thing over and over
Yeah. At any rank the money (and quickest rep gain) is in stacking missions though. I like the local missions around distribution centers.
Rmc for a while there
Bought all the ships I wanted
Though oddly my cargo ships dissapeared in a patch
took a while, traded 576scu of gold tonight
i had a MAX
much money was made
hmm, my Connie is gone too, though i still have my reclaimer
Could put a ticket into support and see what happened. My roc I bought with in game currency is still in my hanger so doubt they wiped in game bought ships
ah, i just figured they did a wipe in the last 6 months
but some are there, some arent
theres a bug for this 3.24.2 patch
everything i have was in game,
smoe people lost ships, others gained ship
i know someone who got a free F8C
he didnt buy it in pledge store, didnt rented it, he just had a golden ticket in inventory
he found a F8C inside his hangar after 3.24.2 came out
SNAFU then
i have personally gained a free Hull A
nice. i have 2 prospectors
i know of a guy finding 7x taurus in his list
i think i bought one, it dissaperead, so i bought another, then it returned
so he distributed the taurus across the systems on every city station
i wish i could sell or trash this 2nd prospector. hope they add that some day
I've been interested in the Hull A as a hop up from my Nomad.
I can carry more in my Starfarer of course, but I like the idea of the regular cargo sizes of the A (and B whenever that comes out.)
i like the MAX for cost
more capacity per credit
plus guns
its closest to the Firefly ship in spirit i think
They did show ship selling at CitCon
But sadly only for crafted ships
well this will be wiped eventually, but i imagine they will add trading ships at some point
similar to EVE
Which MAX though?
Freelance MAX
unless they changed the price. 120cu for about 2mil
hmm, maybe they did, one site says 4mil now
That would be by far best update more trading between players
I dont mind so much their concept about NPC filling in for players that they discussed, but by now they need to do something. right now its just find the most profitable thing and farm it, with no dynamism or purpose
idealy you need a refinery to need someone to deliver it resourcesa and remove finished product and waste
or it stops working
then simply as inventory fills up, price goes down to buy it. as it empties, price goes up to buy it. simple
i guess the hauling contract sorta is like that
are cargo elevators on moons fixed? last time I played I lost 2mil because they wouldn't go down
They should yes
is it worth doing trading rn when the server can crash at any time
no
there are issues with persistence of your actions, so the cargo might not be saved, but the reduced account balance might be
thats unfortunate
Or just do low cost for testing. Don't try to make max money
How much did you make total?
its still broken
just lost similar amount since elevator and Shubin posts are all dead
got a silly question, does the ATLS fit in the zeus?
yes
Is slam still a buyable thing
no
