am suprised of the dps of the avenger titan
It still shows locations, just highlight the component
That whole discussion belongs to #flight-combat-racing
am soz Zorg, will go to the right channel next time
Also after kitting your ship you can just click "Add non-stock items to cart" and see them all in one
You can go there now if you have any more questions
Experiment by yourself. Push the limits, take some CS and go clear it in prison. The prison got its own gameplay. That's the first thing I learned, in order to be "CS-fear" free. Anytime you see a ship you like, go try to fly it. Under CS3, nobody will come after you. If you master prison, you can sometimes clear 18h in just 1h. I would be you, I would fly a bit around GrimHEx and try to take any Corsair opened I see. The default weapons are already excellent.
So I'm struggling to jusitfy doing cargo (personally).
I have a caterpillar and I intend on doing beryl runs but the 1.3 million in cargo is where the issue starts for me.
Say I make around 250k per trip, it'd take me 5-6 trips before I make my cargo investment back, I feel that I have pretty decent chances of losing my cargo in those 5-6 trips and all of my work being null and void are at a decent percentage.
Am I over thinking this or is there something I'm missing about the cargo life that hasnt clicked just yet
you are a trader atm next patch you will get cargo missions
yes that'll make it a lot better, but I dislike being reliant on waiting for an update just so I can do the thing I want to
Do the rappel/picker ones but not alone. With someone going first and making sure your 2min of trade will be almost risk-free.
I think my issue is that I'm expecting trading to out preform salvage, and the only way for it to do that is with that 1.3 mil risk looming over me
because I'd love to just be able to do station to station trading, nice clean and easy
Why do you think you'll lose the cargo? I've done dozens of cargo trips and as long as you don't do risky stuff like RMC, leave your ship open, unshielded etc. your actual chance of being pirated is really small. Game crash is more likely, it's better to test the server first (watch doors opening delay, picking stuff from inventory...) before commiting. And if the server starts going bad, just bedlog, and always store ship whenever possible.
I believe this game has put a curse on my first cargo runs in any department of work in this game
1st mining run? 30k blew up my ship right before landing
1st salvage run? crashed outside the tdd and lost the ship
1st cargo run? ship exploded in the hangar as I was about to store it
I am always expecting my ship to explode
any investment I put in to anything is considered lost instantly
I cope with losing stuff in this game pretty well, that doesnt stop me from not wanting to do the exact same thing that lost me a bunch of money again
all of the aformention scenarios completely reshaped how I play the game after going through them
If you want to try risky stuff, I'm getting a bit tired of robbing noobs on rappel/pickers. I would like to do some true escort job, using my pirate knowledge to counter. Funny
I welcome pirates if they can find me, its fun.
My issue is the hangars or some other unforseen glitch murdering my ship
this is what agonizes me so
344k a run
I want to, but I dont want to risk my ship exploding
Cant do much against that 🫤 . I explode a lot too for no reason (atmo or yela asteroids) but I only lose time.
I'm fine with losing time, but time and a decent chunk of my bank account?
too much loss for me
If you want to break the curse, you can try hauling scrap. Investment is pretty low, and you avoid cities, which are generally performance-problematic (i.e. CRU-L1 to CRU-L5, or Port Tressler to Devlin scrapyard). But it also makes only 55/SCU (and the investment returns after 3rd run)
It has come to light that all of those explosions were because all of those ships were made by drake
Mining trip? Cutlass black
Salvage trip? Vulture
Cargo trip? Caterpillar
From scrap to scrap /s
whats better the c1 spirit or the cutty ?
Don't know the stats off hand but spirit I think has more cargo cutty more guns
its nearly done so at citizencon would be safe bet
when is it
oh okay
its slated for 4.0 which is still "on track" for Q3 - if they make it, then probably september. however, it may get pushed and we may not see it until novemeber/december or even jan.
Zeus is not tied to 4.0 tho
should i save for the zeus or the c1 for cargo and mining
Zeus CL looks much better ship on paper
nah Zeus will go into PU regardles of is it 4.0 or 3.24.X
if you say so. its on the 4.0 roadmap, so I dont know where you're getting your info from lol
you mean roadmap that claims 4.0 in Q3?
its still possible. different teams are working on 3.24 and 4.0. but even if not, and it gets pushed, those ships are still on the release for 4.0 - doubt they'd get released sooner.
otherwise they would be in a tentitive spot for 3.24 and not 4.0
lets face reality ok? CIG cannot get 3.24 out of EVO only testing with 1 month left in Q3 and you belive CIG can get 4.0 to PU in one month?
roadmap times is what CIG hopes
I never said that it would happen. I said theres a possability. theres 2 months remaining of Q3. but either way, patches get pushed back lots. what is in the patch usually remains, or gets pushed. those features don't come sooner - there for - we're not seeing the zeus until 4.0
regardless, he never stated that it WILL happen, only that it's projected, and therfor has at least some chance, which is true (although very unlikely. Not to mention this entire conversation deviated from your original claims that the zeus will release before 4.0, which it will not, because the zeus is being designed to work with the new systems of 4.0, without that, the zeus is not ready.
zero basis for the zeus releasing before 4.0 other than pure cope
they also have zero reason to rush the release
it just dropped into the Evocatti, gotta wait till the waves arrive to your beach.
not even in evocoti yet I dont think... they're still testing 3.34
Yes you are right, i though the OP was asking for 3.24
I'll be surprised if 4.0 makes it this year. I'm betting on Q1 2025
they can't even get 3.24 out on time, I doubt they're able to get engineering out on time as well
it's going to require a large amount of work for any ship larger than a fighter
different teams working on each patch though. so.. theres still a decent chance currently that itll get released this year. still 5 months remaining. though I do also see a chance of it getting pushed to Q1 of next year as well
that's true, I'm more or less taking into account CIG's track record with promises though
fair enough. thats why Im not counting out the possability of it getting pushed to next year. but trying to give them the benefit of the doubt cause.. well..
lol
yeah, I really want it to release on time as well man
I haven't even been playing recently in anticipation for 3.24 as well
just more or less waiting for both to release
same. I jump on now and then but really waiting these updates before getting back into it as my main game
can you load cargo on a HULL A in atomo at places like rappel?
As long as your multi-tool is working, yes.
Wait what? Don't you have to order it directly into the ship from the terminal? Do you mean terminal it into a ship on the ground then multi tool it up?
hull a works like every other ship with a cargo grid. Hull C is the only ship thats different.
man cargo is fun in 3.24
In a sarcastic way?
No
Cause I don't see how getting pirated even easier while buying RMC is fun. That or people getting ready to shoot you down the moment you leave armistice and pad ram you while you load up gold and beryl for half an hour.
Did they even fixed dunboro and maker's point terminals in 3.24?
At least in 3.23 the transactions and process is quick enough that you have a decent chance of getting away
cargo missions are the in thing
Can you finally buy/sell cargo at DCs too?
dunno did not tried it
Hangars at DC's weren't working when I tried and the freight elevators near the pads are inside of AZ so multitool tractor wouldn't work. Game crashed before I could get back to the DC with a ship that had a tractor and I couldn't get close enough with the an M2 to use multitool from within the cargobay
There are deactivated commodity terminals in the DC lobby in 3.23, so I wonder if they turned them on.
Can you post screenshots from ingame, or is it NDA?
PTU is open for wave 1 so no NDA
there's a bunch of streams and recordings up on youtube now from all your favorite content creators
That’s unfun
Because it is supposed to be risky
Does anyone know how the auto unload of commodities works for the PTU I don't know if I'm having an issue or not?
not yet im more into hauling missions
Is the ship stored?
Yes
You'll probably have more luck asking in #4-8-0-live
After the whole RMC thing, is there any stable and profitable commodity now?
there is no commodity price change yet in 3.24 PTU
anybody got a xeno threat boss helmet
what the best way to make money on 3.24?
I would suspect Salvage unless RMC has been reduced in value.
salvage isn't the best way to make money currently, its just amazing midgame. what's changing next patch that makes salvage better?
Being able to run RMC boxes from your vulture direct into freight elevator at an L-station and consolidate it all into a bulk shipment down to TDD instead of the longer round-trip between planetary TDD and L-points.
In fairness, I usually run vulture around Yela and just drift into GH to sell, which is a good balance of profit and time-to-sell, but you have to acknowledge and be ok with that added risk
Though Vulture is built like a tank so even under duress you can usually get into the hangars in one piece
I occasionally run a vulture with my alt on a perch in a caterpillar and just run back and forth with 26SCU + hopper at a time, then it’s a single trip down to Orison to sell at non-GH prices, but there’s a barrier of entry there too in that not everyone is a recovering bittervet and has alt accounts.
Being able to do this with the L-station acting as a hub for shipping removes that. Still need a cargo ship though
honestly the time saved doesn't sound any different than just parking a cat or c2 in the belt / om point and moving your boxes into that.
Someone mentioned yesterday that you could send the 1SCU boxes of RMC from a vulture down in the elevator and call them back as fewer, larger boxes. I’ve not tested though
It isn’t, and it’s not helpful around Yela where panels are abnormally abundant as the only station is GH, but it’s logistically less complex doing it solo as you don’t need to go get a delivery box as a QT marker and get your cargo ship out to a perch then go get your vulture and come back. It’s also recovery / 30k / disconnect resilient to use a station as any of those will abandon your delivery mission and you’ll lose your marker for the cargo ship
And if I were to stumble upon a C2 or Cat at an OM I’m absolutely magdumping a P4 into the airlock and take a peek around. Don’t leave your cargo ship at OM points.
i usually just backspace on the cat (so i can respawn and get the vulture) and use the death marker.
player ships don't vanish on server recovery, and i haven't had a 30k since 3.22. while it is a nice idea, requesting hangers, moving cargo into an elevator take off repeat, only to get a cargo ship later for the delievery (which you have to load everything you already unloaded once, again) just doesn't sound all that different and if anything, adding extra steps for no extra gain to what you can currently do.
and yeah, parking at the om is dumb since people can just scan and kill.
Death markers? You get death markers? Last 2-3 times I've died there has been no death marker. Maybe it only appears at death by suicides 🙂
If you died in range of a city or station (excluding grimhex) you won't get a marker
All three were random ship explosions. 1 at a station but 2 at bunkers. As the saying goes "SC happens"
The death marker is a white chevron so it's easily confused in the middle of the ship markers
Your corpse also has to be intact, only times ive had death markers vanish is when hard killed inside a ship
can any wave 1s or evos comment about the commodity rebalance?
it was taken off the not ready for testing list
i noticed this comment "In fact, i have notice that you can still buy RMC at the colonial town, but at an higher price you can sell it at TDDs."
when you died, were you wearing your helmet? i heard no helmet = no marker.
Yes I had a helmet on. I'm so ugly I never go anywhere without wearing one. Being random ship explosions it might be that my body was blown into too many pieces to trigger a death marker. Or maybe it triggered dozens and glitched out. Whatever it's just space money.
That doesn't exist. There should always be a marker for your body, no matter how you died
If there isn't, it's a bug. But make sure you know what the marker looks like and that your attentively look for it
I have been missing a death marker nearly every time this patch, I just thought it was a known bug and really didn't worry about it
In fact I knew exactly where I was so I went back and found my body and my ship. I was able to retrieve everything but again there was no marker I just knew where I was on planet by landmarks I am familiar with
I went back to the exact place I died found my ship without any SCU box despite it having gear in it but not a sign of my body.
@spare cloud I do realize what I said isn't a thing. I said it sarcastically but I do know what a death marker looks like and have had them in the past. So far the 3 times I've died in 3.23 I have not had a death marker.
Felt the need to correct that after Mystic talked about similar stuff. No big deal about it
But dead markers do not look the same since 3.23. They're a white chevron now.
^
Hope they go back to the red X made discovery much easier
Yeah, new marker is lame
So hard to see in the middle of ship markers, especially now that everyone is white, even players. Players ship markers used to be all blue, now it's only UEEN and party members, lame.
yeah, not a fan of that change either
Like nerfing the rail gun it might have been unintentional
doesnt matter much either way, theyre never in a hurry to fix things
Most baffling thing to me is how all markers overlap so much that they become unreadable. Like, just make it a fucking vertical list of markers that can't possibly be difficult
I didn't think it can overstated just how much cargo and trade is about to change
I wouldnt expect an overhaul not to make drastic changes.
Fun fact: A full Hull C load cannot fly in Orison. It only costed me 10.3 million to figure that out
Fun fact: I learned today if you buy multiple cargos in a C2, you have to sell them in reverse order. Otherwise if you try to sell what’s on the bottom first, it will take that cargo and not pay you for it due to Failure To Transfer.
Lost a lot of expensive stuff today due to that.
Does any one know why I am in BRIO trying sell cargo and my drake corsair is pooping in my "your Inventorys" tab?
not"
Is this in current release, or PTU?
That bug back again? Make sure you make an IC report on it.
Current release. Happened to me twice.
Sheesh I have enough trouble remembering what I bought let alone in what order. 🙂
I think it has to do with the game having issues re organizing containers if they were stacked on top of each other and you try selling the bottom ones first which would’ve been the first ones bought
If that’s the case, I wish it would just not work at all instead of half-working by taking your stuff but not paying you.
Ive had the same issue, but I dont think it takes the cargo and doesnt pay you.
However I will add, that your account balance doesnt update in the terminal sometimes, but it should update in your mobi
I'm looking to buy a new ship with the new hauling feature in version 3.24. As a new player, I'm considering the Hull A or the C1 Spirit. I have a few questions:
- The C1 Spirit has the same SCU capacity but costs three times as much. From what I can tell, the price is the biggest difference, but I also think the unloading mechanisms might be different but am not sure about that one?...
- I've heard you can encounter pirates. I always play with a friend, so we were thinking that if I buy a hauling ship and he gets a good combat ship, we should be okay. Is this necessary, or are pirate encounters rare?
- Although 3.24 isn't out yet, what kind of money could we realistically make per run?
Additionally, we enjoy bounty hunter missions and hope to find cargo during them. We did one today with some friends who have played longer, and we made 3 to 4 million. I imagine the C1 might be better for this as well?
Which one should I go for? I guess the C1 is more versatile, faster, better suited for bounty hunter missions etc ..
Thank you very much for your help, and I'm sorry for asking so many questions. I don't have much ingame credits atm and want to make the best decision.
4. ne more thing: will there be a wipe when 3.24 launches, and if so, will it reset reputation as well?
C1 has significantly more firepower, and has a rear ramp with the grid right inside. You can fit land vehicles or delivery boxes, found loot, etc
Hull A is extremely cargo focused. S1 guns and boxes are snapped on the outside of the ship. No internal cargo. Super convenient loading/unloading, but not really doing anything other than cargo
Cargo missions won't require an escort 99% of the time, since your cargo is kinda worthless and you're most likely within armistice. Just the regular risk of someone murderous finding you.
Trading from an outpost is already risky, and will be even moreso in 3.24. Loading cargo outside armistice will take time and benefit from a lookout/escort
Depending on what you intend to trade Pirates can almost be a none issue. As said the Hull A is purely cargo and it is very slow in atmosphere. The C1 on the other hand is quite versatile as well as being quick and well armed. I would buy the C1 over the Hull A.
Money wise you're not going to be making a lot with either ship. Someone else would have a better idea but I'm guessing between 30-50k when running something like Beryl.
If you're a subscriber, you can try out the Argo Raft which is one of the better ships to get you from one size of the System to the other, even with an insurance claim!
You can make just shy of half a mill doing drug cargo runs in the current patch
The c1 is alot more versatile as previously stated, and although the cargo grids the same you can fit at least 100 scu of cargo in the hold. Where as the hull a 64 is all you get.
@carmine sapphire I wouldn't worry about a reset of anything, or even give one more thought towards it - it is going to happen at one point. Enjoy the game as is becaues it will change again & again
Question, when people talk about loop during Cargo routes. Does that just mean something you can do over and over pretty fast?
More or less yes
Thought so, thank you!
Planning to do my first Cargo run (not sure of what yet) sometime this week. Been looking at safe options, even if they don’t give me a lot in profit. Gonna be renting a ship out too
I consider a loop to be a run that start in one place makes a number of stops to bring you full circle back to rinse and repeat...
Everything but rmc is safe
That makes sense
Fair lol
Except thats only doable in the hull c, every other commodity is oddly placed for that not to be optimal
What ship are you planning to rent? Cutless black or taurus?
IF you only do one type of commodity...I had a route that I would buy at pyro sell at one place buy somethign there then go sell at next location - then buy and sell at pyro
If you’re buying anything at a station, the profits are super low and only worth doing in a hull c
i wrote it down somewhere but it was a good run netting about2 mil in a couple of hours without fear of pirates as these places were not the typical hangout and it was fun to work out the logistics
I wouldn’t mind knowing said run at some point lol
Honestly interested if you can provide it
I also should look into making a route too
Thing is, routes depend on ship size, the most profitable goods based on investment are sold in lower quantities, so not all trade routes are equal for each ship
Yeah, I thought I I was either gonna be running a cutty black or Freelancer to start out with. Not super high in SCU, but better then my Mustang lol
what I foudn to be the safest were start and stop points at jump points - so that shoudl get you started on whats avail there...then using https://uexcorp.space/ to find sell points - then what do THEY sell - then jump to the next place. I think I had 4-5 stops on the run
I currently have 500k to work with
Best to look into buying drugs then.
Gonna be a dumb question, but what are the drugs called or are they just called drugs
if all I had was 500k I would start ROC mining - then buy an extra ROC and a ship that can carry two of them. Fill the ship storage with about 8 full ROCs
I might do that too
Been hearing some nice things about it
Just have to learn how to do it
super easy and chill
They have lots of weird names, the best ones to buy are slam etam and widow, but basically you go to jumptown ect and just buy the entire lot and sell at samson and sons or brios
Ah okay
Might look into ROC mining first to make some money
Right now I just do bunker runs with my Mustang and get 10k from the contract and another 10-20k from the armor and weapons
You can make ALOT more mining in a ROC
If you ever go to a bunker and see a shit ton of naked bodies, I was most likely there lol
Add me ingame, ‘rivaka’ ill pay you 150k a run while we do some cargo hauling and you can see if you like it
Bunkers reset corpses after a set time sadly
Okay, I’ll add you sometime tmr. Have some medical appointments to do tmr. So not 100% sure when I’ll be online
a full ROC is 220K you can fill a ROC in 2.5 stops or "clusters" transfer to ship storage and keep going. It isn't RMC money but it honest days pay
Yeah just hit me up whenever and we’ll organise something
My goal right now is to replace my Mustang with a Avenger Titan, as I like the looks of the ship
Okay
Titan is a great first pick
If you’re ingesting in cargo hauling though, a nomad isnt too much more expensive and you can carry 24 scu or a roc on the back
Titan is good for a delivery vehicle thats about it
Only reason I got the Mustang as a starter ship is because it costs me $70 for the basic ships for the game
Its amazing in combat
I also like the look of the titan
Theres a reason most people suggest it as the best starter
But I will look into the other one as well
yeah no - it'll get ripped to shreds by many other ships unless you are an exp pilot
Nomad is less pretty by a longshot haha
and I mean great
and the Nomad isnt much on ship fighting either
its just more versatile
In its class? Nah, unless your bar of judgement is vhrt or something
I’m more in the looks of a ship atm then what it can or can’t do
Honestly thats how you should treat this game
Its a look at my spaceship game, get the ships you want to fly
I most likely will just rent ships out if I can turn a profit on the work for the time being
if class warfare were real in space it might matter but you'll get owned quick in a titan - now in terms of looks get a C1 Spirit
If we really want to talk about looks, get the ship that is like 68mil or 900 usd
That thing is huge as fuck
The only ship sub 2mil ingame better than the titan in combat is the bucc, but thats a single seater with no interior
The 890j
I was showing my first and she wants to get it if she ever gets the game
the 890 isnt as great as you might think - I gave someone the ingame $ to buy one and had one myself - its a big fat ass in space
I have one and can say it barely gets used outside of racing
Fitting an f8c in the hanger and an arrow in the back hanger is cool though
Now that I thought of it. Is there even a hanger in game that could fit a 890?
Yes
yes of course
Only been in the Microtech area. So I have yet to see anything else
The reclaimer and 890j share the xl hanger
The big towers on the airport have them on their roof
Above from where the plebs land
Me and my little Mustang Alpha
Not gonna lie though, really been debating on melting the mustard for the Aurora. Just because trying to get a god damn SCU container in the Mustang is such a pain in the ass
Wish the cargo container was just a tad bit bigger
Im a pretty big fan of the constellation taurus and the freelancer max right now - things change as your interests in game do
I like the C2 for making big runs in RMC but I gave that up with the whole economy/pirate problem
Thought the 4scu would be nice, but with the SCU containers glitching out and having a infinite inventory space, I only really use 1 1scu container
Fair, I wouldn’t mind renting a big ship at some point and hiring escorts and doing some big runs just for fun
one guy stays at buy location, one guy goes ahead of your jumps
thsi keeps two guys at buy location which is the most dangerous
It would be cool to do that and then 2 fighter ships escorting the cargo itself
Even though I tho I most of the PvP is on ground
From what I’ve gathered
nah just like i said is all you need
I would say, the biggest issue is a lone sniper who will take you out and take your ship. Having two people when you buy is key. If somone shows up above you can let them deal with that as you bolt out
Laslty if they are well prepared your dead anyways and that isnt what you normally find out there, especially if your in a low pop to start with
What I wouldn’t mind doing at some point would be just grabbing a decent size group of people and have 2 teams, the ones buying and selling the cargo and the ones trying to take it and whoever wins get the RMC money. Just a fun little event with some people
i was referring to the new hauling in 3.24
#4-8-0-live , not everyone has played or played enough of 3.24 to tell you the patch specific parts of your question. better to ask in there
good point! ty
If I could get into and stay in 3.24 longer/more often I would have more info to base my thoughts below off.
I would still got the C1 just for the speed. I've tried several times and several different ways of taking two hauling contracts at the same time. Every time the delivery has bugged out and both contracts have failed. My recommendation is based solely on that. Get the contracts done asap and get as many in before the games bugs out on you.
I would stick to contracts between major ports as well, meaning major cities and their space stations. I had CRUL5 just not answer comms leading to a contract failure. Hope this helps a little.
tyvm @leaden monolith C1 it is! The C2 looks amazing aswell tho :), but a bit expensive for now 🙂
c1 is an amazing ship to start out in, definitely will not regret
In the future, once you get more comfortable with the content, I recommend this site to compare ships and dig into the details of what you find valuable. Here is the C1 versus the Raft (something I'm debating rn)
Doesn't have insurance claim time comparison though...
(which is here: https://www.spviewer.eu/ranking?rank=ClaimTime)
thx for that, thats always handy!
How does insureance actually works when you buy a ship with ingame credits
I have a Raft and it is a great ship but is cargo focused and slow in atmo. I have to say though if you're into "immersion" the the Raft is the way to go. With its cargo set up you are a little limited in how flexible your load can be. Still love the Raft though.
I'm personally looking at the Raft to get me from one side of the System to the other, quickly
idk, the C1 looks much better, is also faster, has some combat flexibilty ... but am just a noob!
If you're talking about 3.24 and hauling contracts then you have to go the C1. Pure cargo hauling I would give the 👍 to the Raft but not by much.
Sounds to me though that you're looking for some versatility in what the ship can do and if that's true then it has to be the C1.
afaik - its all the same for now, blow up or lose ship somehow & claim it, expedite for a fee
yeah am going for that one! Simply for the versatility
In 3.24 you're no longer limited to 3 boxes with Raft, you can fill the designated cargo zones with any combination, it works like a normal cargo grid.
really?

Excellent. That snuck in under the radar. Pity my Raft is on my alt who doesn't have access to PTU yet.
can't wait for the hauling missions to come!
Here's a video of someone using their C1 in 3.24 in a new way, I think you'll be happy with your purchase 🙂
oi, I always forget to add the link
will check that in a sec tyvm
Added you to my friends list
Is there anything i can trade without waiting for demand all the time?
ive tried Distilled spirits but they only ever take 100 scu max
Beryl is the best, TDDs accept tens of thousands of it. (Gold and diamonds are more profitable, but hard to get in sufficient quantity)
everywhere that sells diamond sells 1000 each refresh. I usually do that, you just have to change where you buy it each time if you're in a c2
theres 2 places to buy in hurston (sell lorville) and 2 places arccorp (sell a18).
It works, but you can't land cargo on planets. Gotta get used to docking and all that jazz.
theres a few bugs to look out for, most prominent being:
claiming your ship the docking collar will not extend out to the ship
otherwise, once its out, you have to buy and sell cargo (and unload it) seperately which can be tedious, try to land your ship close to the pads on space stations instead of docking it each time
to get around that bug; claim a ship beforehand and fly it to a pad, then go back and claim hull c, go back to ship on pad and fly it to your hull c.
hull C is very fun, super chill and you can watch movies or work while you do it, has amazing ROI but not the biggest paycheques compared to the risky RMC runs we see currently with c2.
this is the route i do
Right, at the moment you can only do trade from the planet's main space station and none of the Lagrange points, right @lusty cypress ?
most L stations don't sell anything besides waste, so no real point
That reminds me, I do wonder what gameloop waste/scrap will satisfy.
CIG gotta give us a planet designated for garbage collection to dump it off, pay us per SCU to haul it away from the stations
Maybe vultures and such can wander through said garbage planet looking for bits of RMC or CM to scrounge up
Garbage planet 😄 would be fun
Just a giant steaming garbage ball
Or throw garbage in sun
Too simple (and wasteful). Basebuilding could use the waste/scrap as a shield, make the Thunderdome
Cruz
So close
garbage planet? can we find darth maul there?
Now i remember, i'v done like couple waste disposal missions, you jsut dump the waste in space or wherever XD
45 minutes to claim hull C 😄
Insurance claim?
yes
Yeesh, slam that expedite!
Before I go into the PTU and waste another load of game time does anyone know if you have to wait for each different size cargo container to autoload before you buy the next size?
What does the Red X marks mean? I've sold all of my inv
ah okay
That is weird. I just moved stuff into the cargo bay from my buffer and filled all 12. So its weird that 6 slots are blocked
I'm curious about this too, if you test report back. My guess is it only allows one autoload at a time.
I was hoping you could select a mix of sizes to max out a grid but it might require multiple autoloads
It was a bug in 3.23 but I thought they patched it out. The only way to fix it was to claim your ship.
Yeah, just take it up to a station then leave it floating above a hangar pad
Free scrap!
I'm hoping to get on tomorrow morning and give it a test. After all it isn't my money I'll be spending.
Soooo. I was at Seraphim and I ordered in this order 1x16, 3x8 and 1x24 to fill up my C1. Total load time was 4min 06secs. The ASOP in the lobby and in my hangar showed a countdown from the total load time.
On completion of loading I called the C1 opened the back and I was missing 1x16. By missing I mean it wasn't in the ship or in my inventory anywhere.
From this huuuge sample size it appears that the ship is loaded from last ordered to first, The auto-load loads from back to front and if it gets to the last item and can't fit it there is no auto rearrangement you just lose whatever doesn't fit. I forgot to track the money side so I have no idea if I received a refund for the missing 1x16. The 1x24 was on the LHS and the 3x8 on the RHS.
I haven't the time now to test other ships but this test does make me wonder about loading a ship with front and rear access to the cargo grid? I was going to test the Taurus but like I said due to the patch I ran out of time. A C2 or a Cat would be very interesting as to fully load them there is a bit of Tetris involved.
Sorry about the length of the post but hopefully someone will have the time to test a ship with front and rear access.
except the diamond sell location at mining station 048 on wala is broken
just found that out 🙂
noted, so only 3 places to buy 1000 diamonds from then
Anyone get their RAFT/SRV for being a subscriber yet?
in the ASOP, yes
Mine isn't showing up, any idea why? I checked and have paid for August
no idea. I've never had that problem. maybe try a character repair?
or fully log out of launcher, close it, reopen and log back in then try
mk I'll do that once I get out of QT
They do it in 2 waves one at start and one halfway through the month iirc so if you subbed after the first round it may not come until 2nd round of handouts although that's for rewards not entirely sure about ships
That's for the sub flair. Ships are typically right away
Right, cause flair doesn't go away but the ships sure did (just relogged and going to the ASOP now)
Fully logging out did not work. Won't character reset get rid of all my in-game purchased stuff?
its a character repair now, not reset. just fixes issues. But might be a better idea to contact support, seems like its something on their end not working
Ticket created, ty for the help
Anyone recall what the refresh rate is on Helium?
Looking to get into cargo/trading stuff! What ship would you recommend for someone doing those solo?
Depends on your budget, and if you want a pure cargo hauler or something that can also do other professions as well
So far you can solo small ships just as good as big ones, so it's really up to your budget/preferences. If just starting low on cash, then Hull A, Cutlass Black or Nomad are often used. If you want to make big money, C2 is the biggest and pretty fast hauler. If you're going for vibes, Raft or Caterpillar are the thing. If you want something multi-purpose, Connie Taurus, C1 or even a Corsair would be good. For huge space-only hauls there's Hull C (can't land planetside, lots of bugs). And honorable mentions go to MSR and Freelancer Max, these are together with the multi-purpose the likely future of solo hauling after 3.24.
Hull A (64 SCU) / Cutlass Black (46 SCU) / C1 (64 SCU) / RAFT (96 SCU) / Freelancer MAX (120 SCU)
Personally I use the RAFT for low quantity hauling, the C1 for low quantity RMC trading/Vice smuggling. Used to fly a F-MAX and it's a decent ship, just prefer the RAFT for the design/feel/vibe despite the SCU capacity being lower.
Hull A is a lot of fun, just small and slower!
correct SCU values;
*C1 Spirit 64 (can fit 100~ + if not using grid)
Raft 96
Freelancer Max 120
sorry, some craziness then when editing the post 😅
Not gonna lie. As a space trucker. I love the new way cargo is being used in 3.24
Physicalized cargo, and not having the ability to open a magic storage box to hold random stuff
Out of curiosity, which tool do you use for cargo manipulation, multitool or maxlift?
maxlift has further range/rotate faster/move faster things faster (especially noticeable bigger containers / ships). (alot better at space spiderman too)
that being said
for the price tag, its only nicer to use if you can afford it.
only pro for multitool is price and being able to use it while in soft armistace zones and inside your ship while in armistace zones
Meh it's only 200k for 10
It still can't grapple a moving 890 jump to pirate it
It's definitely a lot easier to do against a Idris
who has anything of value to rob on an 890j
points at 64scu of weevil eggs
and yeah alot of people don't have 19k for a tractor beam
usually you kill ai ships first 🤷♂️
Usually. Lately it's assassinate and pirate first
Will say in the PTU the hand tractor just doesn't cut it against 16 SCU boxes
Saw several people get crushed and boxes get stuck until someone with the max lift came over
So difficult to get them to rotate into the right orientation to fit in the cat perfectly
guys is there anyway to sell a scu crate of weapons?
Did you put weapons in it
As far as I know which I've never checked,, gotta just open the crate and drag everything out into local then sell
If so, move the container into your local storage and either open the crate and move all from the crate into local or if I’m correct, when you sell at a store, you should be able to select that SCU crate and sell everything in it
Good question lol
Usually at TDD if it's refined and in a crate
Trade development division I think
Usually it'll just have big letters or a globe that kinda looks like earth above the door
ohhh that place
1st is a18 2nd is orison
thank you again
man i tought manualy loading C2 will be a pain but its actualy kinda fun
Weird one, Raft or C1 and why??
As someone who has done it a bunch in space during pirate activities. It gets old. After while
It doesn't take long to get old but if you want to fill it up auto-load is not your friend
C1. Raft has vibe, but is suuuper slow.
Raft it is just so much more a cargo ship than the C1. Practically though the C1 is faster and better armed. I fly both cepending on how I feel
Butttt, the ease of access with this new update? And does it hold more?
I really enjoy flying the Raft but it handles like a beached whale on valium.
Yes, the new Raft cargo grid is really convenient. Imho still doesn't outweigh the abysmal speed/acceleration.
In 3.24 last I checked you couldn't get 32scu crates at some (maybe all) outposts so the ease/quickness of loading is thrown out the window
currently heading to go and grab my C1
But here the big plus to it, the cargo bay doesn't lead to cockpit. So it's so much harder for pirates
Bro, you seem to be decided already 😉
I have both but prefer the RAFT due to looks, both inside and out, and the vibe. The C1 just feels like a tube with wings rather than an actual ship with proper areas (e.g., engineering, living space). But I don't give a damn about min/max and the RAFT still does a respectable job.
No no, I'm leaning that way just need advice as I've never flown either.
I'd say the Raft is really the "youtube & dinner" kind of ship, with pretty aesthetics and all. Actual capabilities are bad - it was recently nerfed, so it's now really heavy, slow, has high EM signature... So it boils down to whether you're trying to achieve something with your ship. If yes, go for C1, if you want to enjoy yourself, go for Raft.
Raft also has a MASSIVE tank which is expected to be useful in Pyro
Also has a very short insurance claim time, if you needed to get from A to B
Can the Raft carry 32SCU boxes? I thought it was not able to do that on grid - which limited its usability for cargo missions.
It can only carry 32 SCU boxes
until next patch anyways
I just used the Raft to haul some refined ores and stuff that I'm very sure was less than 32SCU
RAFT can carry any container size as of right now in 3.23
Hauled a few loads using non-32 containers last night, also found a couple of stor-all loot containers and whacked them on the grid.
It for sure must look weird
Yeah it does a bit, I think it needs an afternoon of someone on the design team having a bit of a tinker 😅
RE: Cargo and Cargo Missions - If you pay for automatic loading, is your ship stored in such a way that you could retrieve a different ship and go do other activities while the loading is underway?
Or is your ship that is being loaded not safe to leave unattended?
you cannot use autoload with cargo missions
Gotcha
ship being loaded can be left unattended
But you can leave the ship unattended for standard cargo hauling while it auto loads?
yeah ship is stored when she is loaded but remember no autoloading at outposts
It would be nice if CIG realizes they need to make auto-loading somewhat attractive for players, and giving them the options to multi-task would be ideal. Stored ship, gets loaded, you fly off and do some other missions like box delivery or exploration, and return to your ship loaded up so you can then go do a cargo haul.
autoload timers are short atm
plus atm you still can bring C2 to outpost and load it if you are willing to deal with 16SCU containers
But couldn't I just hang out at an outpost and wait for someone to start loading up their ship, and then whip out my tractor beam and start putting their cargo on my ship?
you could hell not sure if its still possible but in earlier builds you just ran to freight elevator and lower it and any thing on it is yours now
Seems shady to not allow auto-loading in a "stored" method at outposts.
Since you just look for the most valuable commodities, go hang out in armistice there and steal their cargo with your tractor beam, and fly off without having to pay for the cargo.
Effectively grand theft cargo instead of murderous pirates.
i heard some used Hull C for hauling missions from spaceport to DC
Isn’t dc planet side? How would you land a hull c lol
you dont
Then how are they doing the missions then
The elevator doesn’t go down enough to just hover
you get hull c inside hangar extended and have friend help unload it
Oh
is there an issue with ships not being available to select from commodity terminals? trying to buy from a mining facility
What location and what ship?
connie taurus - arccorp mining area 048 on wala
tried from the landing pad, and on the ground right next to the admin station
works fine at a mining facility on daymar
Looks like a bug, I'll link you the IC in #bug-hunt-chat
i'm confused and was wondering if someone could help explain... with all the changes to manual cargo loading, won't commodity trading with the ironclad be horrible? Will they have cargo missions for 1500+ scu or whatever the ironclad has?
Yes that’s part of the balance
Large ships should not be trading commodities at small outposts
They will be doing larger hauling contracts or city to city hauling, where paid auto loading will be possible
just a note on how auto-load works now in 3.24. If you buy mixed scu sized cargo it appears auto load starts loading from the last size you bought. It doesn't magically make it all fit either. Auto-load buyer beware
yep that station doesn't work, alongside Makers Point and Dunboro. if you were looking to buy diamonds, the other 3 mining stations work
045 on wala for example
Maxlift is really nerfed atm in 3.24 it struggles with 32SCU containers
Haven't tried it myself but seems kinda odd the stronger tractor would struggle with 32scu when it's the only crate size multi tool can't pick up anymore
i think CIG is preping us for 32SCU containers needing bigger equipment than handheld gear to manipulate
If they plan to make 32scu require bigger tractors. Would it be worth limiting the handheld to like 4scu and max to 8-16scu
And 32 for bigger stuff like a C1 tractor
I mean the Ironclad has tractor beams inside so they were clearly preparing for something like this. I will be interested to see if they implement loading from above like on real cargo ships.
Outside only
should i get the caterpillar or c2 first? I'm currently about 3 mil off of the cat but im not sure wether i should keep saving for the c2
what's your current method of making money?
if it will increase your income by alot i would get the cat first, but you still need to earn enough money to buy cargo for it
vulture salvaging, but been using the reclaimer since free fly started
before buying whatever ship you choose
C2 can load 32SCU xontainers while Cat cannot
It worth it if you find yourself a quiet place? Seems very cumbersome to have to keep walking around
32 won't fit on cat grid, but they still fit
^
2 per cat compartment, except front one
so I should get the cat before the c2?
If you're going to get the C2 anyway, just go for that
I wouldnt
alr
Lets keep things on grid since i can also fit 2x32SCU inside 600i
Eh, 3.24 is coming and it's gonna be a lot more important to be able to fit things off grid, since there will be no magic spawning of cargo
Im playing 3.24 since W1 and C2 is way better than cat to handle with hauling missions
Didn't say the opposite
Just saying off grid space is a lot more valuable than before
Only latest patch nerfed maxlift so it barely can handle 32SCU containers
I dont trust cargo thats off grid
You issue 🤷
cargo off grid is fine, ive packed 26 scu of rmc into the back of my vulture loads of times and never had issues
I also packed 2x32SCU containers into 600i but every time cargo gets jumpy im please dont blow up my ship
they usually settle when you turn off the tractor
There are some off grid cargo that fit better than others.
So yeah, a 32 inside a 600i can be tight and not necessarily a good idea
Just do reasonnable off grid
32 in cat fits like a glove
So if they are nerfing the Maxlift to push us towards bigger loading gear in the future how do you load then unload the crates onto/into the bigger loading gear? Ship tracotr beams?
Yeah
Don't think they'll nerf the Maxlift soon tbh. I believe it's already good as it is.
Just need to finally remove armistice zones so we can use maxlift anywhere
But yeah, I like it as is, with the Pyro multi tool capable of lifting every currently available container, but being a pain to manipulate everything 8SCU or bigger.
And Maxlift being good enough even for 32 SCU containers.
It seems like we're being pushed towards manual loading which takes time and depending on where you are adds to the risk. Yet profit margins haven't altered. Auto-load as it is right now has been useless for me when buying cargo of mixed scu sizes. I like the idea I just think the follow through, so far, makes it more tedious than necessary.
they just did nerf it
In PTU ? Kinda lame
yeah it struggles with 32SCU containers
There's still ship tractors
on C2?
No ? Did I say that ?
No thanks
Wait, they are removing the grid highlights?
No.
Right now, when you buy cargo, it magically pops inside your ship, and is conveniently spawned on grid, with only boxes that fit your ship.
In 3.24, there's no more magically loading the ship.
And with cargo missions, you don't get to choose the size of the containers you'll have. That means some ship that wouldn't be able to complete the missions with on grid space will be able to do so with good use of their off grid space.
Really just need them to fix the falling through the elevator thing...
Ship tractors scare me, they are so strong they jam 1 SCU boxes into the ship walls of you're in too much of a hurry
Anybody cargo hauling in the PTU figured out how to get the maxlift to reliably rotate crates?
I tried to partially load up a C2 and the rotate function was patchy at best. Holding R got the rotation indicator but moving the beam sideways only sometimes rotated the crate and then it was extremely slow.
not really but i found a workaround: use sorroundings to rotate it
For a C2 it may make sense to load it with a separate ship that has a tractor beam like an MPUV Tractor or whichever 300 series has one
Iirc it's the 315p(?) that has the tractor but I may be wrong and it could be the 325a. Only ever seen it mentioned once and can't be bothered to check mid game
315p
I heard they killed slam/maze/widow/weevil/e'tam on 3.24? Everything is like under 125 auec per SCU now?
not really gold was still 1k per SCU, but yeah drugs are kinda gone atm
Like fr?
So this is true?
dunno since i dont trade atm im using hauling missions
buying locations dont have freight elevators
You can get them from VHRT and ERT
then its ok
drugs are gone, they removed the terminals
drugs are bad mkay
I don't care about the buy though
I'm going to get them from ERT
hey guys, is rappel still bugged?
wdym? rappel been working fine for me this whole patch, only ones i've known to have issues this patch is dunboro and i think makers point
maybe try pickers field for rmc, that one i've also used and it works
I must be confusing then, thanks!

A player told me the Jumptown sites are not in the ptu yet.
So, if I land at the commons in NB, how can I sell my ships inventory? No place to store..
You dont need to store your ship
If you land on the ice lake near the commons, your ship will be picked up by the TDD terminal
The elevator never worked...
To go from the surface to the commons?
yeah
Said "elevator called" every times, said they were both on my floors too, doors never opened
Ah, that sounds like a server issue I think
Unknonw cuz in those times I cant interact with my ship or things like thjat, everything else has worked except those two elevators
no delay for elevator called either
Weird
maybe a bug then
I had that happen at Grim yesterday
Just spamming the living shit out of F until it worked lol

I wish the Cargo elevator worked...
You have the one you take down to salvage and to the cargo hold and in the back there is another one
But I think it only works when you are outside of the ship atm
But you are meant to bring it up from the cargo hold to the salvage processing area
But I just drop them down for now
I do not get that per trip HAHA.
I barely made 150k on that last trip. 64 scu seemed like a decent cargo space but yeah..

Yeah
C1 is most likely my next ship
But not sure
Oh
I also have been looking into a large ship
Like the corsair or another one
Cant remeber how to spell its name
Star like name lol
Lots of stars
Thanks again @violet cosmos !
Mercury Star Runner
Or did you mean a Constellation Andromeda? That is also a lot of stars 😁
Probably Constellation
C1 would be a great choice, one of the best ships in its class
Yeah, I’m sitting on 17 mil at the moment. So gonna get a C1 and look into what large ship I want
Is the mercury star runner good? I'm free testing it right now and im having blast.
Though one thing i realized is how slow the QT is.
MSR has industrial drive by default, but you can swap it, the fuel tank is large enough. It's an awesome ship, the only downside is the amount of doors needed to get from pilot seat to outside and back.
QT times vary on the QD. you can upgrade it.
In terms of it being a good ship, no its not meta in any way especially for its price range, however, alot of people subjectively love the ship, if you're one of those people, get it
What would be the better ship at the price ranger?
what are you after in particular?
uhh cargo
if you just care about cargo, taurus is 2/3 the price and has ~50% more cargo space. it also has 4 s5 guns compared to 2 s3 guns on the msr
it also has 1 s3 shield instead of 2 s2
the thing is, this is a spaceship game, if you want the msr, get it, because its cool and you're going to enjoy spending more time in a ship you enjoy rather than one that is considered meta
wait how many auec is the star runner again?
the freelancer max also has twice as much firepower, 6scu more space. an extra s2 shield and 1/3 the price of the msr
12.3m
12Mill?? Holy. I swear it says 4 mill one one website
Old prices, pre-3.23
that must be from last patch before price hike
MSR 12.3
Taurus 8
Freelancer Max 4.2
Plus it can carry 32 SCU containers and has a tractor beam on the bottom turret.
this game has inflation? crazy, now it requieres almost 2.5x the grind.
barely a grind last patch, nearly everyone could have whatever ship they wanted within 2 hours if you knew a guy with a reclaimer or had one yourself
well, i've experienced Elite Dangerous carrier grind. oh well.
aeuc isn't hard to grind currently, especially with vulture and reclaimer for free atm. don't let the high cost (for what the ship is worth) put you off it
I've always wanted the constellation but i feel like the layout of it is just meh.
fair enough
anything other than the taurus?
also the cockpit sucks unless you get the aquila, then it only sucks a little
Freelancer Max has 120 scu and half the price of a taurus
idk what you're price range is
but you can fit alot more than 64 scu in the c1 and alot more than 72 in the corsair
You think i can soemhow grind myself to like a taurus utilizing the free star runner?
otherwise wait for zeus mk2 CL to come out with 128 scu
you'll only make about 308k per RMC run with it, given you don't lose anything to pirates
can i uise the 980 jump as a cargo hauler lol
you'll make about 1mil a run in it
doing rmc
try and check your friends list for a dead server
im in a dead server lol
you can also fill the 890j up more if you take the boxes off the grid and buy again, since theirs tonnes of space in the front hanger
can you fill the 890 jump with 4 mill?
not fully
how much do you think i could fill
75%
if you're on a dead server
what does a vulture have to do with it
also your server has 46 people on it, not totally dead
good thing about the 890 is
you can put a small ship in the hanger and use that to get to and from the ship
so it eliminates the risk of anyone sneaking on a fair amount
and 2 s4 shields is enough to tank most ships, only thing to worry about is a ship with a QED drive
i have a server with 18 people on
how did you know which server im on
you're on my friends list
hm, i just realized
you were the cargo run guy that let me drovea a caterpillar right?
also i lost my 890 jump
i dont know how
most likely
i think because i tried docking it for 20 minutes to the point where i rammed it to a station out of frustration
i keep mine at grim hex or a city to avoid the docks
but you usually just get next to it and hit n for auto dock
right now im just gonna keep running or the starrunner until i get my 890 back
Took me roughly 20 min and lots of swear words to figure out how to dock.
i dont even wanna try to dock at this point lol
@lusty cypress How do you check to see if a server is dead via your friendlist?
when you go to join them you can see the total players in their server
if you want to check while in a server, f1 then chat then count all the names that are online on the right side
Ahhh, ty
Is it me or does the max lift tractor struggle to lift 1scu boxes
Also won’t move them off grid if it’s between other boxes
CIG did a balance pass aka. nerfed maxlift
I’m guessing the multitool is even worse then
Cause its fucking terrible to move boxes around
Like o understand the bigger ones bit like god damn
Yeah, i think they need a bit of wiggle room to grab boxes that are between boxes
But also like the 1, 2, and 4 scu boxes all move the same. Would think they would have different move speeds
The tractor beam balances the strenght I guess
Not keen on the smaller one being nerfed so much.
Haven't tested, but is the traversal mode equally nerfed? Cause that really needs to stay longer... It was already kinda short and weak for anything other than EVA around stationary things
The tractor beam changes make sense and create the need to use the max lift/ship tractor beams to move the big stuff around.
Except max lift struggles to do 1scu boxes
I want to assume that is a bug lol
But who knows at this point
But I do agree, the change to how the beams work is needed. You can lift 32 SCU with a Muti Tool in the PU atm
So there really isnt any need for the maxlift unless its for something bigger
You can lift a damn Mustang Alpha with the Muti tool right now
They just need to hurry up and stop with basing prices on commodity size and base it on weight
The new UI where you can select box size is getting to that point
And just change all tractor beams to be limited by mass not size
They'd have to figure out how much everything should weigh though, i dont think they've really gotten that far yet
One message removed from a suspended account.
What is the best cargo to haul at the moment?
In 3.23? RMC, if you are willing to take the risks associated with it. In 3.24, no idea yet. No one has done a guide, etc. since it is all subject to change prior to going LIVE
Yeah I know the risks considering all the pirates
Foxy just did a video on the tractor beam changes which showcased the multitool vs the maxlift. I don't remember seeing any problems moving any SCU boxes w/ the maxlift.
All of the handhelds move a lot slower now, compared to the ship tractor beams
I see a shift in usage based on which ships have:
- a ramp
- a tractor beam in a good spot
Ironclad just got prettier to me
The crane will make it incredibly useful lol
The Tractor Crane that the normal one will have, gane changer
I must've missed that part. Thought there was just the two in front
Oh, wait, I may have been lying, but I SWEAR I saw something on a crane on the side of the retractable doors.
You may be right
depending on what this is
So maybe not a crane that sticks out of the IC, but atleast one to do internal tetris
That's one of the two tractor beams

Gonna be looking into my first big ship
Hope you got a crew with that Mantis
What are your choices? I'm digging on this 890.
Currently have 17 mil in funds
Gonna get a C1 for a med size ship
And for some cargo
As my highest cargo ship is a vulture atm
I pledged a C2 really useful for more than a big cargo load.
Mustang was my Pledge
Just one of the starters
My first game ship was the Cutty Black.
Im gonna prob stay with the Mustang
Dont wanna spend more money
As a Mustang was 70 for me
For cargo purposes you should plan for if 4.0 they do a ship wipe.
I want to assume they are gonna wipe ships at some point
If they do, I would run my Mustang and do bunkers to get money to do ROC mining until I could rent a Vulture
As of next patch. The Vulture will be able to make 490k per load. As I make 550k per right now
I can make around 30-50k doing a bunker. Doing that one contact that gives 10k to kill the people in it and then loot the guns and armor
That's the less costly way to catch up and get credits built up.
I might look into melting the Mustang to get another ship, if I could do that without having to actually spend anymore money
The first ship I bought was a Titan to swap out the Mustang.
Now I just take the mustang if I wanna have a quick dog fight lol
I currently have a Mustang Alpha, Titan, Vulture and Syulen
C1 is the next ship and then a big ship
For a big ship, looking at one of the Constellations or a corsair
Lots of folks team up the Vulture and C1...
Yeah
But that won't really be needed next patch
As my home station is Port Tressler and I do all my salvage around the MIC L1-5 locations
I can fill the vulture in about 30 mins
Fill up, go back to the station, off load and repeat
Then mass sell in New Bab
The cargo space in the Corsair along with Deadbolts is top tier for a long time proably.
C2
Stop recommending people to buy ships with real money especially if they say they don’t want to
Savages
The only other option would be the Aurora game package
Which I personally prefer
But you can also rent ships in game to make money with
I thought about getting that ship, but I do like the ability to fight ships in the Mustang
And it has 4 SCU cargo compared to the 3 the Aurora has
The aurora and Mustang are pretty similar in combat capability
It does look like a brick but in space it’s nimble
And it has a bed
So the new 3.24 is going to be called "cargo empires"? One thing certain, all things trade and trucking is changing
To me the best overall as well as low entry ship combo purchase to pledge is to buy the nomad and a ROC - the Nomad can easily carry it (back it in) is super easy to fly, pretty quick, and excellent scanning for pinging gems. Also has two weapon racks, a bed to log out in and a tractor beam if you need it. Not much in the way of cargo space but yeah this is as I said a low entry point to making money in game and of course there isn't much you cannot do in it in terms of missions, especially starter missions.
Yes, and I’m so happy about it. I love the new cargo system, etc.
did they announce this name today?
If I was go to back to when I started the game and do something differently, I'd be really tempted to go NomadROC over the Titan I originally pledged
It was found in the game files for the PTU, I think.
The name apparently was pulled from the data files. Nothing official yet
I'm not a huge fan of throwing boxes but all the aspects of the change in the game play holds a lot of promise
My original pledge was a titan - so yeah - totally agree! And no regertz
There should be plenty of job openings in the crate handler profession.
there is like 100+ hauling missions after you get past rank 1
Yessir! I will happily employ a bunch of people to run boxes, make sure I am stacked with MAxlifts come 3.24
Used to be when you bought the Reliant Kore you got the Nomad as a free loaner! Now I would just recommend using the rental kiosk and getting cheap in-game access to the cutty black and ROC. Rent the Andromeda for combat. Easily make millions in game without pledging a bunch.
They are also expanding rental options so it'll be easy to get light cargo ship rentals to avoid spending on your fleet.
in 3.24 what are some of the hull c routes ??
Yeah 100%! The ROC is one of my most fun/chill loops, I don't chase meta so 250k per hour blasting gems on a moon's surface is good for me, a lot of new players probably overlook it!
I doubt they've changed tbh
Keep in mind that, at least in its current state, it seems like ROC mining is completely broken in 3.24.
broken as in...?
You cannot sell the gems you mine from the ROC.
Gotcha. There was a slight chance you were using broken in the 'OP' sense
From my experiences in the PTU.
The new cargo system needs a lot of tweaks before it is good to go live. Buy cargo of differing sizes and the auto-load can't figure out how to fit them it. I've tried and tried to manually fit 4x32 scu crates 2 high across the grid in a C2 and there is always 1 or 2 that refuse to fit. I've paid for cargo and auto-load and had some or all of the cargo just disappear. For example twice now with a C1 I paid for 2x32scu crates and auto-load and never received the crates in the ship or in my warehouse.
Right now it's not my money so I don't care and keep trying to get it to work. Even so I'm getting fed up with the currently broken cargo system.
I need to test it on the PTU tonight, I've seen two posts/videos today that implied it was all working
Can they be moved to a backpack then put in local inv at a tdd spot?
How's ya'll finding the Cat in PTU with the limitation of box sizes?
How close do you have to be by a terminal to buy RMC? Like at Rappel or Pickers
close enough to press F on it
nope, you didn't
🙂
there's "empty" space near the commodity building at both sites - ive never had an issue with distance in those areas
rappel you can be up on that ledge bit away from the town and it seems to work
pickers i can't remember the layout - i rarely go there
Im using a 890J and have a smaller ship to go up and down from lol
(Biggest cargo ship I have for now)
well, if you're running rmc, don't do that 🙂
just use the cargo ship
else your 890 becomes a very expensive target
Does your ship have to even land?
yes, as you have to get out to go to terminal
I have a titan I can use
pretty sure the 890 will need to be "landed" from a game perspective
I mean if you wanna shuttle 8scu at a time to the 800j... lol
I saw someone use a C2 with a friend. They had the ship floating about the ground, had to owner of the ship fly a smaller ship and the friend fly the C2. You would never land the C2 but you would land the smaller ship. So the owner could buy cargo for the C2 and never have to worry about people getting onto the ship because they couldn’t
So wasn’t sure if the 890j could do the same. Keep it floating while you use a snub or smaller ship to fly to the surface.
Huh interesting. Well anyway i look forward to 3.24 changing that stuff so that c2 spammers/other folks cant make rmc impossible to sell anywhere
And you can set your respawn in the 890, so if you were to die in the smaller ship, you could just respawn and fly away
Agreed. I just tried it today and lost all the cargo on the titan and about 50 on the 890

Still made about a mil, but not worth it lol
Rip
Wasn’t a fan of buying and selling like that
I enjoy just taking the reclaimer out at that point and hunting down panels lol
Doing hauling missions in an 890j would be funny ngl, how tough is it to manually load and unload?
Not that bad. Has an elevator like a Connie
For the cargo hold
Plus everywhere else if you really want to fill it up lol
Curious on what the hard limit is
Is SC trade tools outdated? I just followed what site told me and lost 15k
what did you plug in?
What do you mean? Im kinda new into trading
what did you put into sc trade tools
is it possible you didn't sell all the copper?
give me a second im going to fly my msr and do this trade route
I have 0 SCU left
what's your ingame name? ill send you the credits you lost
Im on freeflight, no worries. I just would love to do profitable trade to then give money to friends who owns game
So I can make it a bit easier for them
yeah i haven't really dabbled much in these low investment medium volume trade routes before. ill give it a crack once my msr claims and see if its a bug or if the app isn't showing correct prices
Single way routes are usually a lot more profitable than multi stop ones
You can try Beryl from Ita to Lorville, good and safe route
only the case if you have the capital for the investment, not doing empty hauls will always be more profitable.
the reason its not for high investment high volume trading is that the options are so limited commodity wise
on site it sais it sells for 437 but in game 243 per unit
im at seraphim now, and the buy cost is shown at 293 per scu. for a total buy cost of 33.38k
flying to Private property now
yeah the buy price at PP is 243 per scu for 27.73k sell
So, is there any possible fix?
the site has incorrect values, and ill mention it on their discord
happy to give you enough credits so you can haul diamonds or beryl for your friend. will make your profits alot higher and those routes have been tested alot more, so you won't get any incorrect values.
Can you DM me routes? Nickname is Nawriano
You can also use uexcorp.space
Good site to use with tradetools, when one or the other is wrong
Im mixing salvage and trading atm, there is no rep for salvage missions?
Aye, just a couple of tiers that you quickly blow through. Really hoping we get more salvage missions from different NPC orgs with scrape/munch/component/tow objectives and more reputation depth
profit on missions is quite slim for salvage, give searching for panels a shot, much more lucrative
Im in reclaimer atm. Btw I tried to use SC trade tools web on salvage site but it just shows like ARC L3, and then where to warp, it is open space...
warping to larange stations is funky, you warp to asteroids first then to the station when it drops you out, try re-setting your route and it should give you the marker to jump to
^ also if you prefer, yela is alot better for salvage, go to a random OM-X point around the planet then fly into the asteroid belt at random and good to go

a guide on the panels, its the same process in a reclaimer, you just need to swap to the rear 2 seats when you start scraping (as you probably know)
So what up with those C2s on SC trading tool site?
Not sure if stashing RMC at a Lagrange Point and running it in loads will save any meaningful time vs just dropping top your personal hangar once you have messed around with the SCU boxes, it was fun though. It was quite janky emptying the boxes on the freight elevator I found it better to do that on the regular inventory. I guess it could be worth it if you had a bigger load but then you have the risk of losing a big load!
It worked and I sold / didn't lose any boxes in the transfer so that's good at least! Be nice if we could have 16/24/32 boxes though!
Hmmmm, you indirectly bring up a good point @mild pumice. How annoying will it be to offload a Reclaimer with how the cargo is stored within the hull. I know I don't want to try to get those 16 SCU containers onto the elevator and then back down...maybe you send the elevator down to the ground and chuck things from inside if you can hit the button and run back in?
In theory you should be able to pay for offloading at point of sale, I'll try it with the Vulture stored and let you know if it works.
final work
You can sell from there in PTU?
I can sell everything, it counts as general storage = unlimited cargo
this run was for 1,3mil
Just to make sure we're understanding each other here. You are in the PTU and can just sell directly from the Reclaimer without having to put the RMC into local storage without using auto unloader?
Nope it not the test one.
ptu would have had some text at the bottom of the screen stating its not a release build
I dont have to put it into local storage, just went straight for admin. It counts as general storage. You can put whatever u want and how much u want here all over the ship.
Right, I know that it is possible now. But in the test server there are new changes to cargo and such that I was curious on.
That's fair, should have known to look for that
The only problem with auto unloading, is that I have a sneaking suspicion that it will only unload cargo that's actually on the grid and not stuff thrown about
they change the boxs?
as promised I checked in my Vulture and RMC sells just fine using the auto(un)loading, the fee was quite reasonable as well however the 13th box that was not on the grid would not sell!
Ooo that changes things a smidge!
How many SCUs does the Reclaimer have grid locked?
420scu
Yeah before CMAT and RMC just had the plain white boxes but outside of I thing drugs and some refined stuff everythung now has a yellow and black crate with crate size and I think a label on it of what the contents are
Does that count the grid in the salvage bay or just the cargo level?
I think salvage bay & processing, along with cargo
i thought i might have to go hunt but nah each ships cargo grid is just imgages pinned here
Thats useful
Ah I guess the Salvage Hold isn't gridded
It isnt sadly
nah but when you go to sell currently it doe count it, sadly though any reclaimer stuff post 3.24 is gonna have to be manually loaded and unloaded from elevator or autoload and go back in to see if it grabbed the off grid or not
Is the C2 balanced weirdly? I try to descend to land and my nose dips with it
Yah it is balanced on the two landing gear really weird
I lean back a bit and land with the nose in the air to counter, you gotta kiss it just right 😄
Connie is the same way but not so bad
I mean way before landing as well. Like 8km in the air and when I put down thrust on (right stick) and keep left stick untouched, I nose dive to the ground
It's very annoying
Is there a button combo to disable auto land with the c2? I tried to land at an outpost and pressing the button to lower landing gear caused my ship to slam into the ground out of my control
Auto land should only happen when you press and hold N and it shouldn’t of slammed you into the ground
Must have been server lag or something then cause I have never held the landing gear button
fk me Member rank is slow I don't look forward to grinding this out on Live :/
do you have autoland setup in any particular way?
it shouldn't engage at all on any ship if you just press landing gear
I'm more impressed he got autoland to work, it hasn't worked once for me!
Also auto land doesn't crash you into the ground generally.
auto land has never worked for me with gear up.
I've literally never used it until it turned itself on and crashed my ship
You guys can get auto land to work? It does nothing for me 95% of the time
Doesn't seem to work whenever I try it on my c2
twice when leaving Pyro Gateway I've long pressed N instead of B and it has pulled me back into the hangar. Other than that I haven't got it to work for ages.
It wasn't auto land it was the stupid magnetic attraction landing gear has with the ground
I would love to know how to turn that off where you're in a hangar or near the ground and the ship just gets sucked down
It is weird that when you're on literal wheels, you can't roll at all.
My favourite is how the Hull A is so low powered it literally struggles to take off due to the magnets
The hull a ls tragically slow lmao
I'm hoping the hull b has a bit more pep
I love the concept and the design but it's just so damn slow in atmosphere
There are cargo missions and trade routes that are purely in space so I guess that is where it will shine
But it's whole selling point is that it's the Hull that can land in atmo 😭
This is SC stop being logical 🤫
gotta love how the hull a i feel like it is the only ship ingame that performs worse when fully loaded as well
Has anyone been poking the PTU for hauling? I'm up to member missions on there atm
i tried
I had to use my farer to haul I'll hop on again later, they've made a load of ships rentable
what’s a good profit over time commodity so boring just doing rmc over and over 🤷♂️
I use a c2
Beryl definitely one
o yea for sure is gold still decent margins?
Gold is, but you'll get a better chance of a full/nearly full C2 with Beryl
get yourself on uexcorp.space for all the data
Is anyone here experiencing an issue with buying cargo at rappel or any other popular RMC spots? Multiple servers now me and my buddy's can't get our ship inventory to show.
I wasn't able to get Dunbro to work last night for my C2.
I didn't know if that one ever worked correctly.
Dunboro almost never worked
We had a C2 and bought all Gold first and filled up with Beryl both on MT then took to Orison to sell. It has a nice bonus. Profit was 398k.
398k for a full ducking c2 is nothing wtf
