yeah no not joking - I have a friend who said he isnt playing again until this fix is actually IN GAME...this bug is stuck in his behind, lol
There are load centers by the docking ports for that reason exactly.
Hello, does anyone know how to outfit the C1 optimally?
Read #flight-combat-racing pinned messages
yeah, fill it with RMC, lol
otherwise for a decent loadout go to erkul and decide what you want - fast or efficient
a civilian A (Hemera) is the most efficient - decent speeds and distance...fastest is the Military A XL-1
Im a fan of the stealth options for the power plant - but others may say differently
shields literally anything but the fullstop military C as those are the worst - mostly just a cost and avail thing
Basically described what I linked
yep - sometimes its just better to see it written out as a reply from another user - most of the info I see here is old news and well documented if you're willing to do a bit of research, still good for the new players to get a response directly from an active player as sometimes things change with new features and releases. I actually upgraded my C1 for a connie (Tuarus) due to possible exploration gameplay coming online and its just an overall good ship - might be pretty cool to go to pyro with my connie and do some cargo trading
Howdy y'all. Is RMC trading still successful or has that been nerfed into the ground yet?
Still successful.
Groovy
Only real problem is finding a place that will buy it all since it's sold so much
Youch
I am no expert, but I don'T think this is industry standard placement for cargo 😂
But at least the refinery did not "eat" my cargo this time and actually delivered something
This is even better then what you told me in game xd
does "placeholder" cargo sell for anything?
Is there a way to put handheld crates into an empty SCU crate?
I had a 16 SCU Placeholder cargo yesterday evening that showed up as "Iron" when selling from the terminal. They very well could be valid cargo.
anybody in evocoti confirm the y fixed the hull c docking issue?
Anyone know if the c2 is still gonna be viable for cargo running in 3.24?
for large amounts i imagnie so as long as they're mostly the larger 16 or 32 scu crates
Can somebody get me a contact of a guy who exchanges merits for aUEC?
very if you are willing to deal with its loading/unloading
Box gameplay is finally gonna be useful (not counting Reclaimer, bounty "salvage" and JT)
Can't wait to go on a ship weapon stealing spree
is there still a shortage of gold now that RMC trading is a thing
Gold has always been a low supply trade item the most I ever got was 60 scu.
Rgr
What kinda ship you running in?

What are the actually good cargo ships?
Tempted to get the caterpillar instead of C2. I already have a taurus, incase that's relevant.
Only ones on my radar are:
C2
Caterpillar
Carrack (too pricey for less cargo)
Carrack will be terrible for cargo in 3.24. The C2, M2, and Caterpillar have the largest cargo holds currently aside from the massively broken Hull-C.
massively broken? Meaning non-functional or too strong?
AFAIK the Carrack's Cargo Pods do not open still, so moving cargo to and from will be troublesome
However, the Carrack was never meant to be a cargo hauler.. Those pods are probably more meant for storage of supplies
Mostly non-functional
I would actually use that if it worked. Cool concept. One day.... one day
Guess it's C2
Here's what I posted a few days ago concerning cargo ships. Take out of it what you will 😉
#industrial-professions message
The C2 is currently better if all that you are concerned with is Min/Max. I own and fly both. I fly the Cat for probably 60-75% of the cargo hauling tasks. C2 for those 'urgent' jobs where time is of the essence. These make up maybe 10% of the runs, and always with heavy fighter escort. C2 Always has an MPUV-t in the hold as well, which helps make up for the lack of onboard tractor beams. Depending on my mood for the day, I also fly Hull-A, Raft, Freelancer Max and MSR. Just fly whatever gives you the most pleasure to fly. I do believe that with 3.24 smaller ships will be much more profitable if you don't have an experienced loading crew on hand to sling boxes. But, even 20 minutes on the ground at an outpost loading Beryl will be a risk if you are running solo.
Thanks a lot for this.
I love a lot about the taurus. But the elevator obsession kills me.
I may end up getting an MSR or something for next patch.
Max is great
Im not sure Outposts will be dangerous in 3.24 since jucier target wont be there
Agree with the Max. I own 'most' of the cargo haulers - Reliant Kore is up next. lol. Of all of them, the MSR is my favorite to fly, but it is a very fragile ship. If you plan to get shot at, or shoot at people it really isn't the best unless you have both turrets occupied. The single exit is a pain, but I live with it. Second favorite to fly is the Cat, followed extremely closely by the Max. Max is a tank and will fit most of what you would ever want to carry.
Oh... my theory is that there won't be as many super juicy targets either. But, a pirate still has to feed the kids. Smaller ships are still great snacks. I'm practically drooling to get to play in the test waves to learn the ins and outs of outposts.
I've been practicing snatching cargo off of open ships at outposts with the MPUV-T. Works great. lol With the tractor beam at outpost changes, I suspect it may open doors for SRVs to snatch bigger cargo (32 SCU), which, if I don't recall should be spawnable at the outposts.
And, more reasons to love the Caterpillar. It's a fun Party Bus.
actualy no with 3.24 outpost will have small amount of goods and freight elevators are limited to 120SCU and if i remember correctly max 2SCU boxes
Which is perfect. Easy to move.
The titan is good aswell, could put 10 scu inside without a glitch and 11 with a bit glitches
Never manage 12 but maybe it‘s because of bad servers.
you gonna need to ditch Caterpillar then
Never! lol. It has plenty of alternative uses.
yes, but not for pirating guys at outposts
They'll probably fix it before live
With a crimestat or whatever
Just patiently waiting for it to get some love. I know it has the modules now but can we get the turret to be remote with size 3s and the pilot guns to be size 4s? It’s hilariously outgunned and its hull HP is shite now.
well 3.24 gonna be fun time for cargo players

Fr fr, only reason I stay with the coni taru and deal with the elevators is the firepower
@elder summit
Yeah.. I don’t really care for its looks and I don’t wanna give up my ramp
But the max is a mess rn.. like so many others that aren’t the new pledge shop honey lol
Gold passes coming soon. I know one is the coni thankfully. May clean it up
You may like the Corsair if you want firepower and a ramp
Ffffff the corsair. I’m pretty anti drake lol.
I also think the corsair is ship that needs some re balance. But that’s a convo for a different thread
Drake hate? We can't be friends
atleast for that ship @sharp swift Its like the "one stop shop" for too many diffrent roles. And as is until engineering hopefully makes it multi crew necessary its just a power house.
What kind of components do yall run? military for everything? even like hull series? or is there a benefit for going industrial at any point or civi?
Speed, efficiency, distance: pick two
I haven't modded my cargo ships yet, but I would want some more distance on my Cat to make some routes not require a detour to refuel. I'd sack speed a bit since I'm not particularly in a rush.
Crew and engineering are going to change the game significantly I expect, and peoples' favorite ships along with it
For large ships with big tanks, faster QD still have enough efficiency to cross Stanton and then some. Recommendations are typically TS-2, XL-1, Atlas/Voyage (S3, S2, S1). Ships with smaller tanks benefit from the efficiency of the Civilian drives
I gotcha. So really just have to urkel it. Any suggestions for cargo loadouts? just trying to build for .24 patch
Even though it's unnecessary, I typically upgrade to Grade A shields. Either FR for military ships or Mirage when I have a "stealth" build. Powerplant I've upgraded to JS when the weaps drew too much power but it's rare
It really depends on the ship. Going milspec for everything will probably be a good idea eventually, for now QD and weapons are the only things that make a difference.
So rn im at new babage kitting, at least my straight cargo runner, per say hull C. SO S3 grade A I have Ts-2 or Erebos. Max speed on mil grade is double but 3 times required fuel. Is that all I have to determin? go far or go fast?
Yep. I have TS-2 for my cargo ships, for the C2 and Cat it's plenty to go between any planet. I don't have a Hull-C but if you're trading, you could top off every stop.
The other factor to consider is different stages of acceleration. Certain drives might be faster on shorter hops if their Stage 1 is faster
Yeah just worried about the hull C needing fuel. Only so many places you can dock that big boy. So have to have one that will actually last
Each kind of route will have a different preferred ship. Some locations don't have a landing pad at all so you can't resupply.
But hull c needs a docking port, right?
So that kind of simplifies things
What does changing shields do? As far as I can tell on erkul there is no difference?
Right now, not really much. Every grade in each size has the same shield HP pool.
I think some shield components might have slightly higher physical HP, so they last longer if they're randomly hit by missile damage etc
I'm just a weirdo and fully kit everything, sometimes even power and coolers
I do see a difference at least with shield re charge times and power draw it looks like. So a full kit should in a general sense be better then stock grade Cs. Atleast if using good ones lol
i was messing with cargo and noticed that solo unloading/loading cat is easier than c2
Honestly I'm expecting C2 to stay on top in 3.24 even without a ship tractor beam.
A full C2 is 22 big boxes (32/24 SCU), 32 small boxes (2 SCU)
A full Cat is 19 big boxes (24/16 SCU), 80 small boxes (1/2 SCU)
With the conveniently huge double ramp and empty space, the help of the new cargo gravlev and a handheld tractor beam, I'm almost sure loading a C2 will be easier than a Cat
thing is said cargo gravlev cannot carry 32 SCU containers
No, it'd be used for the small boxes
A Maxlift will be way enough for a 32SCU container
Pyro sucks, but Maxlift will do
In AZ, where you can't pull the Maxlift, only Pyro, it'll be more annoying, but I still believe C2 will stay on top
sorry mistook cargo gravlev for hover trolley
i heard it cannot carry 32 SCU container
It sure can't.
It'd be used for the small boxes.
22 big boxes to tractor, and three or four trips with the gravlev for the 32 small boxes
With Cat, only 19 big boxes to tractor, with ship tractor beam, but 80 small boxes to load too, that will take some time
ok but when i tested it i found cat being easier if you get a system how to do it
When I scan a ship, where is the cargo listed?
I've only ever seen a list that shows parts like what's equipped on the ship
Will the cargo list appear on the right side, next to it?
Yes.
It will only appear after the components, if you have at least 90% signal power
yes usualy bellow crew in ship
Based on current metrics for autoloading Hull D would need 85h to load/unload
How does this thing function? Will it lift up 32 small boxes in unison and set them down? Or just carry them to/fro with the cargo being loaded/offloaded one at a time manually?
Load the gravlev with cargo at freight elevator, take gravlev to ship, load ship I guess
Ok so it reduces foot travel
still good
It is a free feature or something to buy/pay for?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Evocati patch notes listed these as buyable - unclear if it sits in your ASOP or is linked to location/elevator
Mk, time will tell then, thanks!
I think it goes to your inventory and you call it up via freight elevator
does collecting RMC from outposts work?? i cant seem to find my ship on the terminal
some outposts work some dont
Ahh ok
Rappel on Hurston works for me but be careful its dangerous there
is Rappel the one who doesnt show a QT marker?
It has a marker
I would highly suggest you either find a super low pop server OR have friend provide air support - maybe two. You may want someone to go in ahead of you as its fairly common to have a sniper on the ground -be glad teh rail gun has been nerfed, lol
Only ones currently working is rappel and pickers Field @rough mesa
Is rmc still good to buy and sell?
it has the best stock for the margins. If you have a big grid it's great, but risky. Smaller grids you're safer running vice or Gold
Vice is ironically usually the safest, RMC is easy to camp with only two places
why does it in game say that freelancer max is heavy freight and caterpillar is medium freight
MAX is a wide boi?
I'd report it as a bug if it doesn't match the store listings, but I don't think any of those are finalised categories anyway.
Probably because the MAX is a really old ship and at the time it was added, it was considered heavy freight.
Caterpillar is just big boned.
Max is chubby, no excuse
Just tried to do a trade route use the sc-trade tools website...
When I got here... the place doesn't even sell what the trade tool said it did... am I crazy or is that common?
What commodity and where?
Gold - Shubin mining 13 (MT)
That's odd. Is there any way to report that as an inaccuracy on sc trade tools?
Haven't really had any issues with it so far
I'll check. But yeah it doesn't even say not in demand or anything.
Just staright up doesn't exist here
I've never seen this caterpillar go over 230... does that sound right? Even in Nav mode this thing abysmally slow
Best place to sell beryl? From MT
I believe smo 22 should have gold or smo 18
All the trading sites rely on user input data. If you find a price or availability difference, submit your own findings to update the database.
It is very slow
In atmosphere it is slow, it is after all not particularly streamlined. But it's faster then it used to be. (In 3.22, climbing out of Orison IIRC was around 99, and something like 130 max in atmosphere heading downward at full boost.) And according to UEXCorp, which is what I've used, gold is only sold at SCD-1 and SMO-18. That said, you probably won't be filling a Cat with gold at either one unless you're prepared to sit around and wait a while for it to restock. If not doing RMC, then Beryl is what I'd recommend. (HDMS Woodruff is a good source for large ships.)
All this is likely to change with 3.24 though.
I've scouted PIkcers field at the last 3 servers I was on.
Pirates at every single one lol. I only have 4M Credits so I'm not risking that all on RMC right now
I was just grabbing whatever gold was available. Usually around 200-300 which is better than my taurus could handle
Don't think you could even buy a full load with that anyways. Beryl is much safer, though at HDMS Ryder you'd likely encounter an NPC Cutlass Black from a nearby unmarked POI.
but Beryl might be better. idk tbh
Which is why I recommend HDMS Woodruff.
Nah a full load of my taurus (174 scu) is 2M. So yeah I'm not filling the cat with that
Got it. i'll look into it and the most time:profit route to sell beryl from there for when I'm just chill and trading without any stress.
Thanks for the advice
Yeah it's bad even on Asia server now
I only go if there aren't many players on the server
lol when it was safe to begin with?
is the hull a worth it
i'm thinking of buying either the hull a or the argo raft for cargo but am not sure
tbh its really slow even its bigger brother Hull C fells faster
but aint sure if raft is 32SCU containers only
raft is only 32 scu
so raft will not be able to haul/trade at outposts
Outposts are 120SCU yes, but no 32 SCU containers
whenever i do a gold run in my freelancer max i get 2 32scu containers so they deff have them
today yes but not with 3.24 witch is also in EVO
yeah but i'm thinking of which ship now since when the update finally drops i won't be home for a month
your choice
speeds: SCM-> boost -> nav
Hey guys, how do you attach a container to a ship cargo? For example in a cutter? I read the wiki but can't understand 100% for example there says that a container fix itself on a kind of grid and locks up. But I bought a container and can't seem to found this mechanism
On the cutter for some reason a single 2 scu container doesn't like to snap to the grid, but 2 1scu containers will
Multi tool has to be in detach mode (should be in this mode by default, afaik)
So, I'm in the hangar, multi tool in hand, with two 1scu containers, and the containers will snap/attach to my cutter?
anyone got a favorite Hull C trade route? I'm tired of SC trade tools lying to me about supply/demand numbers
Yep! Stand inside the ship, and the multi tool should work
Thanks!
sadly i think thats all we got for now
All I know about Hull C trade routes is this: #industrial-professions message
Thanks!
What’s the best composite material route? Is it still pickers to A18
What does this mean? Does this mean it always has 0 demand? Or it has 0 demand right now but normally has 1250?
And if that's the case... this fraction makes no sense lol
SC-trade tools claims to update once an hour. but I seem to always find different supply/demand numbers in-game from what they have
yeah don't worry about their numbers for how much is in stock and how much is in demand, all that matters is the total amount of demand / amount that can be sold. since cities refresh every 14~ minutes and sc trade tools updates in longer intervals.
yeah I tried to use the other link. The gallog.co one but that list is even more chaotic and not helpful lol.
I'll figure something out with sc trade tools
They are expected to have nothing in stock, with a maximum inventory size of 1250 SCU.
With do what we can with player submitted data. Feel free to contribute 😄
That being said, we try to estimate what the usual levels are. If someone just dumped a C2 load, as there are no APIs, there's no good way to see that happening and the numbers end up being off 😅
It's an unfortunate part of learning the limitations of the tool and dealing with them 😢
We're open to suggestions to make the experience better by the way!
apologies for being that harsh then
I had thought there was an api in use and not a sole reliance on player submissions
I'd love to contribute market data if I can. where is that on the page?
No worries!
We collect data as outlined here: https://sc-trade.tools/leaderboard
We also share our info bilaterally with UEX Corp, if you prefer their submission method.
I'm not a software developer unfortunately 😦
but the first thing I think of is a tool from another game I play called Elite: Dangerous. EDMarketConnector (its on github)
at a glance it looks like the SC trade companion is reading user submitted screenshots with some kind of OCR? if so thats wild and congrats on getting that to work. I understand thats quite difficult technology to work with.
The reason I bring up EDMC is that they primarily work by reading a log file that the game makes. is there any chance that a similar log file is kept by SC? I hope there is cause parsing a log file would be a lot nicer and easier than OCR for user submitted screenshots
Where is Orison TDD? I followed the signs but once I got to the correct platform.. the sign by the tram doesn't even say the TDD is here?
from the shuttle you make a 180* right turn and cross a bridge
its dead ahead from there
Perfect directions lol. Thank you
so im interested in getting a hull c
what are its limitations currently?
Are there places you can't land?
docking sometimes works sometimes it doesnt, plus sometimes you cannot call it in spaceports basicaly its a mess atm
Can't land anywhere with cargo attached
Only docking
So your only trade routes are going to be between space stations
of course
That's really it for its limitations afaik. The aforementioned issues with docking being bugged rn (So if you spawn it at a space station, you'll want to have spawned a snub or something to fly over to it), and not being able to land.
if its pledge atm Hull C is not good value since Hull D is 50USD more and gets Hull C and C2 as loaners
new autoload timers:
1 SCU - 2 s
2 SCU - 3 s
4 SCU - 4 s
8 SCU - 6 s
16 SCU - 10 s
24 SCU - 12 s
32 SCU - 15 s
based on box/container size
C2 went from 5h autoload time to 6min, talk about kneejerk reaction
Still depends on price for the autoload, it can be fast, but cut a lot into profit...
It will most certainly depend on the cost.
So... despite hauling less than the C2, the Cat will load slower
Also it's mildly amusing that the 291 of a Starfarer loads alow than the 4 and a half thousand of a Hull C

also prices for autoload are low while they will make people who do hauling missions think alittle. Anyway i doubt this numbers are final
How I wish we could do that 😅
SC has logs, but only the transactions show up in there (when you buy/sell), not the whole listings. Maybe one day 🤞
Autoloading will also only be available in places with hangars. Something to keep in mind 🤔
There is not. Star Citizen does not give make that information readable in the game files. Stuff like that has to be user updated.
Oh
someone beat me to it
anybody know if theres a discord of players specifically focusing on cargo and trading thats new player friendly?
Honestly while i find the old times way too long the new times kinda feel too short.
Like you would be struggling to load most of those ships faster then the autoload at those speeds.
Imo depending on ship size/amount of cargo it should be anywhere from 10-40 mins. Still a bit quicker than loading by hand but not unreasonably quick like 6 minutes where it's always faster to just autoload
Thing is autoload would need half the time 1 player needs to load C2 since port gonna assign more people to load it
4 players/NPCs is ideal to load/unload C2
Anyway, this is from latest Evo patch? Maybe CIG now wanted to test the Autoload.
yes
Weird that there's not data for the MSR.
Whats MSR
A beautiful, yet troubled cargo smuggler/data runner.
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/crusader-mercury-star-runner/Mercury
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
OMG this thing exists?
Yes. Even in it's troubled state an extremely useful cargo hauler. Fast, yet fragile with too many interior doors and not enough exits.
You can see one in person in the Crusader Showroom on Orison.
joking. Im well aware of this ship
There are other ships missing too, and I figure it's likely because the people making the chart didn't have those ships to test with. When you first copy over your account to a PTU, you will only have access to the ships you've pledged. In-game bought ships do not count, and it's basically a post-wipe state.
yeah ptu is usually fresh slate each build starting with 15 mil
What’s the best thing to buy & sell at the moment? Safe route
Depends what ya call safe. Highest possible profit total is and will be RMC, for fairly safe Beryl is decent enough, and there's various other goods like Diamond that'll work
Only station to station routes are imo truly "safe" and even then there's a non zero chance of some murderhobo orbiting it in some F8 or something
What’s the best Beryl route?
There's like 2; Microtech has 2 locations and Orison buys it for high enough to be worth the jump
I don't remember their names
https://sc-trade.tools
This is what I used to use
It's plagued by some annoyances CIG have unintentionally added so it's not perfect
Cheers, I’ve a carrack that I own from the store but I really like the caterpillar as well!
For large ships, I've used HDMS Woodruff to Orison myself.
I’ll try that. So before the C2, the caterpillar would have been the main cargo ship? I assume ppl used the carrack as well? I make about 215k profit on beryl it’s not amazing but it’s still cash 💸
Imagine most intense 6 minutes on Rappel
Or Pickers
Quick question.
I've really enjoyed this free week, and as expected my favourite activity is cargo delivery.
I'm likely to buy one of the game packages, but which starter ship would you recommend for cargo in particular?
I've watched a few YouTube videos, and read a few blogs and got about 20 different answers, only 10 of which are actually flyable in the game it seems!
So if you're a fellow space-trucker, which starting ship would have made you life the easiest?
I'm leaning towards the cutter (my budget is under £80, ideally)
Also, if I could ask a brief follow up.
During my free fly week, I've been using the Drake Caterpillar.
It seems like a solid mid-late game cargo vessel.
Which ships would you recommend for the mid to late game for this task?
Thank you!
assuming you have the in-game funds you can rent ships for real world days, so if you have enough you could rent a cutlass black or a constellation tarus i believe for a day or more and run cargo in those until you can afford your own
mid-late i prefer the hercules c2 purely cause its just a ladder/elevator to get up to the cockpit from the lower cargo section
depends on your budget..
the Titan is a solid investment
i believe they said they didnt want to go above 80 euros
the Titan then
£80 - around $100
but it would have to be one of the starter packages
as I do not own the game
Avenger Titan is the very best starter pack, it can do a bit of all, including cargo
but
they do have the titan avalible as a starter package currently
you may want to buy a cargo hauler in game as soon u can
i recomend start with the Freelancer Max
I think it's about 95 Euro so that chould be good.
Thanks for the tips.
So the Avenger Titan would be the best starter within my budget for cargo, and I'll work my way up to a Hercules C2
Starter Game packs as the one above come with Game rights to play
I remember that's the one that looks like the old C-17s
iirc in-game freelancer max is 4.25 mil so it'll be a nice thing to work towards
I forgot to input the referral code when making my account for the free fly event, so here's hoping I may get another opportunity when I purchase it.
Yeah! It's nice to have a goal, and I'll enjoy it even more once I've worked towards it!
Thank you both very much for your advice, have a great rest of your night's.
i was working towards a srv doing rmc runs but sadly they removed it from in-game store before i could nab one lol
the avenger titan game package is giftable, right?
should be, i think almost all of the game packages are giftable
yes
anything you had not put store credits on, is giftable
is it on sale for as long as FF?
the Titan you mean? its one of the permanet and most common Starter packs, so it will be on sale even after FF.
oh ok, awesome. thinking about gifting them to friends once/if they come around to try out the game and like it
Checked the Avenger Titan out, it reminds me of the Russian Tupolev PAK-DA stealth bomber design they're trying to make.
Nope. Only account creation
I agree with Titan choice, but it'll be cheaper if you get Cutter package then upgrade to Titan.
Better ask in #ccu-and-fleet-advice or #new-player-help for pledge advice
I've contacted support so that I can delete and recreate my account, this time WITH a referral code! mostly just so i can get the Nox, but the credits wont hurt.
So if I were to purchase this package, https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Packages/Aurora-MR-Foundation-Festival-Starter-Pack-Warbond
which is just £38, I would be able to upgrade for the additional £28 to the Avenger Titan (for a total of £66~).
where as the Titan package alone stands at £72.
But is there anything I'm not getting for those £6 or is that just the difference from the reduced cost of the package over the festival not being considered in the upgrade screen as the ship's value remains the same as that of the regular?
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
You'll make more savings buying the Cutter package than upgrading to Titan
But again, ask in #ccu-and-fleet-advice or #new-player-help instead
Literally just Grim Hex, but only a little at a time.
You can always check on the website, /best-buyer tool, with the "Stolen cargo" filter checked 😉
what button is it to take the cockpit of the caterpillar off
It's not implemented
also how can i un-extgend the cargo spindle on hull a?
there's a button in the cockpit to extend but i can't find one to unextend
try ALT + K
Afaik, it's physical button only
the cycle configuration keybind handles that
Since when does GrimHex sell RMC?
Screenshot?
Testing a way to block troublemakers that don't deserve the steel toed boot?
Try a TDD terminal.
I have to say I’m torn between the carrack I own in store and the caterpillar 🤔 I like carrack but the caterpillar is an old school iconic ship 🤷🏻♂️
The Cat is slow, a bit of a whale when it comes to handling, not the largest cargo hold and probably will be a bit difficult to load up in 3.24. However it is a great ship and I wouldn't dream of swapping mine for something more fancy. To me it screams independent trucker with its looks and layout.
id imagine the carrack is fked in 3.24 with cargo lol
It's looking fine with auto loading
But you have to go somewhere auto loading is possible
Its a small thing as well but the turrets on the catterpillar are decent.
Dual S4s are nice to have even if you dont use em often
And they arent in the worst positions
Yeah i think it’s old school looking, a ship ppl once loved.. it also has two tracker beams, it can also be used as a mobile base to a chill in, I think it can carry 1 or 2 small vehicles so its got different things you can do I suppose
Does it have some kind of air shield or something to put a vehicle in or something like that 🤔
Catterpillar will get a new lease on life when it gets gold standard eventually as its meant to be modular
Oh that sounds great
So I done a few cargo runs in it between micro tech & arc & yes it’s a little slow but it’s still a cool ship. I think it has different things that you can play around with and when it gets modules it will be more cool 😎 it may not have a hanger but I think u can put a fury in it & it may not have a med bed but when I die, the ship dies so I dont care & I know I can put a medical vehicle in it as well! It’s definitely a unique ship for sure so I’m starting to lean towards it more than the carrack
Stick a med Ursa in it and you have a rescue ship lol
anyone knows how to fix cargo removal failed error when selling at TDD
Sell at smaller volumes, and if you have multiple types of cargo, try selling other types first. It's some weird glitch that the system doesn't know how to arrange the remaining boxes on the cargo grid.
This is also often correlated with the situation when it for example tells you that you have 4 SCU of cargo, but can only sell 2. And after you sell those 2, it offers you to sell the remaining ones (so you have to iterate, the two boxes are effectively fused together on the same spot at the grid)
Won't be a problem anymore soon™️
tried selling other types, failed, tried messing with qty failed
now spawned the ship and moved cargo around to see if that worked
ok that worked lol
had to move cargo around
I have found a pretty safe process for Vice trades. Get the supply re up mission around MT. Pick up that first box and then go to Ravens Roost to buy the drugs. Sell at Devlins Scrap Yard. I spent 1.05 million and had a net profit of 293 K. No task is totally safe in Star Citizen. Good luck.
why not skip the box mission step
Maybe using the box mission objective as a tracker? Can do similar thing with comm array takedown missions and crypto keys
Raven's roost doesn't have a Quantum Marker, you can't fly there directly. The mission gives you the marker. RR is the biggest drug lab around mT, and bcs of the missing marker (compared to Necropolis and Outpost 54) it's also least frequented.
I've only ever gotten that when I had the drugs under the legal goods and tried to sell the drugs first. I thinknit also fails when boxes will be left unsupported
That's right you get the marker which helps out but Buds Growery can have some good rifles. You can buy more vices from the additional sites mentioned but that adds more risk to the trip.
so.... did they change the price of maze by a lot since i played a few months back? or am I tripping?
I’m sold on the caterpillar vs carrack, I want to land on Ariel to get a little vehicle to mess around with and 4 pve pirates came at me, two valks & two Cuttys also the shield on it seems better than the carrack & only for the 4 M5A on her I wouldn’t have been able to kill them, not once did the shield look like it was in trouble
But c2 scu > catapillar ?
why run a smaller ship for nearly same $$$
Vibe
Outside of atmosphere, you can punch out 'most' NPC pirates using the Caterpillar fighting in decoupled flight. I keep three Cats in my ASOP list. All 3 for different purposes. On one, I run deadbolts for all guns, including the turrets for those times when I do have passengers. It makes extremely short work of NPCs, even solo, if you can get your nose on them. Yes - Caterpillars are my cargo ship of choice, even with it's flaws.
i prefer c2 mostly cause its a more direct path, one elevator or one ladder anda hall to the pilots seat, sometimes it gets confusing running through different rooms and halls to get in and out of the cat
Practice and knowing the layouts of ships will save your life. Best to get to know every ships interior.
I prefer the C2 because it can hold big vehicles and it feels like a Galaxy
I wish I had given the Hull A a look sooner. Up until recently I've had some weird prejudice against MISC ships, but it's perfect for loading andshuttling a couple of Vulture runs to TDD. Yes there's other bigger ships that can do it, but it's a fun little ship!
its not a bad ship its just way to sluggish
true, handling in atmos is a bit wonky but the in-atmos pass they've done in 3.24 might help. If anything I just want the rear landing gear to be wider to avoid wobble 😁
do the personal inventory boxes attach to Hull A/C spindles?
do trade terminals refresh themselves? im waiting to sell rmc at lorville
Yes. It can take ~20 minutes. Just keep checking back and it will refresh.
do i need to get out of the terminal and go back in or can i stay on the screen
If you are referring to the Stor*All containers, then yes.
I got disconnected from my Caterpillar while it was in atmo. I can get onto the lip of the front cargo door, but how do I open it?
i think it's not letting me open it because I got disconnected... and it's full of cargo. and in an armistice zone
As long as you have not claimed the ship, it's still yours. There are buttons for each of the cargo bays and the front bay, but you could also try lowering the main elevator as well, depending on how you're accessing the ship.
@lofty fjord - did you manage to get the problem solved? If not, LMK and I would be willing to come help.
ah just saw your message. Nice of you to offer. I got a friend to help me with a corsair and his roof elevator, fly under my cat, and I was able to open the elevator from below and hop on.
Sweet - that's the way to do it for sure!
I'm pretty sure I've used my C8X to get in my Cat using the elevator before. And I know for sure I've done similar things with my Mole on multiple occasions. 🙂
i took a pisces (and transferred my imprint to it in case I died) and tried to back up to my front door, and hopped from my back ramp but i couldn't get it to open so having a friend helped
it was just tricky since it was in atmo
I know I've opened the doors from outside before, in space. There are little Drake style button control panels. However at least once I think I had trouble with the buttons. (This would have been as part of loading a Fury into my Cat, so I could go outside com array range, shoot my Cat, and thus be able to repair visible damage that the game wouldn't let me fix otherwise.)
Trying to open the front/side doors in atmo using a C8 might be tricky too as the opening doors might knock the C8 about.
why does anyone buy waste? is there a good route for waste?
I think for Hull C it might be a valid trade good, but everything we know about trade routes is likely to change with 3.24.
Waste is currently useless (buy for 3, sell for 4), except if you maybe want to set up a trap somehow with abandoned cargo, or practice box stacking prior to 3.24.
could be good for doing meaningless or exceptionally cheap runs
Does anyone know of the caterpillar will get a med bed or a small medical room when it gets its modules ?
That wouldn't even pay for fuel. Afaik the only place where you can sell with profit is Everus, and that accepts 75 max.
But it got me thinking... what happens when you drop a cargo container on a ship, does it get damage? And do you get a crimestat?
I made 2 million profit on rmc with the caterpillar which is similar to the c2 🤔
Anybody have a build for C2? I just got to 30M so i think it's time to grab one
usual recommendation is just buying a ts2 drive for fastest travel times
I was about to say I imagine the only important thing is the QT drive.
That's probably the MilA one?
Lol nice. It's the one i put in the Free-fly caterpillar. So I already got it
oh nice, circumstances worked out well lol
Just go to Orison and get the FR-86 and TS-2. Also if you wanna swap M7As for the Omni cannons, including turrets, you can kit it there
I know shields don't really matter right now, but component health and eventually they might be rebalanced. Maybe/maybe not before a full wipe
I think they will have auto loading option, I love the carrack but I like the caterpillar & with it getting modules at some point I’ve decided to hang onto it instead of the carrack
i'm sure its fine outside of missions but during missions apparently theres no autoload option
fair enough but the C2 still has 100 more SCU + is way faster
i like the caterpillar more it fits the vibe 1000x better
I know it’s hard to believe, but the 890 is super inconvenient for single box delivery missions
man i feel so dirty when i trade in RMCO
check your underwear for any additional waste
still dry
@hollow sedge yeah I mean the c2 has lots of fuel, bed to log out, carry’s more and is faster, I’ve been stung twice so far over at picker field so the fun of cargo rmc isn’t fun although I have went back over and nuked them with a A2 but I will say that the cargo ships need way better protection like bigger shield or something
I’ll pick up a C2 for cargo and live in and explore etc it is fast
its almost like the devs intend cargo ships/pilots to have fighter escorts...
The cat has tractor beams though
Seconded. Cat definitely has a better cargo ship vibe, but when it comes to RMC, you get rich or you die. And I'd rather get rich, so I sit in C2.
I assume you know the Cat has beds as well.
Caterpillar uncontested.
-The cargo doors on carrack don’t open. So for a hot min you will be forced to auto load (may be hella not worth it)
-med beds, even as a T2 don’t really matter since all T3 beds re spawn and there isn’t shit for medical gameplay rn.
-More scu in catapillar.
-carrack had a C8 (sized) hanger. But atm no real reason to run a secondary ship. There’s no penalty for just rocking your large sizes
Cat > carrack
If you’re really in the market for large cargo. I’d HIGHLY suggest waiting for the next sale and get a C2 or get in game preferred.
Yeah its very hard to beat the C2
Its just the best in class in pretty much every way.
No when it comes to ports. The Cat beats it for loading and unloading options hands down. It’s just in a different class.
In space definitely
On the ground I’d say C2 is better
C2 is also much better for moving vehicles
Also it's easier to get bigger crates in.
Bigger entrances and a better cargo grid
Also the wonky cargo space of the cat storage pods aren’t great
Yeah having one giant cargo area instead of 5 segmented ones is nice
No 32SCU on cat is just bad
When it is inevitably reworked I think it will be greatly improved
But as it stands it’s not as good as the c2 except in limited scenarios
Modularity wll do wonders for the Caterpillar
Salvage module would fit quite well on one imo
I don’t like a salvage module for it tbh
Cargo pods combined with a few vultures are better
Would just be nice as an option instead of needing multiple smaller ships with it.
Making the bet now. C2s will all melt away when the maxxer corps join Drake for the Ironclad.
Fr fr. Cats been melted and not coming back till mods. C2 will always be the hook up till something other then ironfat that can haul 1500 but is a literal brick
I'm holding onto a CCU to the Ironclad from a C2. I'm not sure about it so I figured get the CCU and fly around in an Org mates once it comes out to see it I want to apply the CCU.
C2 might still hold on as a solo/duo ship
Since its designed to run off a small crew
Ironclad looks like it will want a few more.
And with engineering i would assume the Ironclad would take more effort to keep running compared to the C2
disagree engineering would be relatively same issue is C2 has pilot controled guns so solo player at least can fight back in some capacity while with Ironclad you only have missles
Crusader in lore is known for its simple to operate and reliable ships
Which will probably be represented by a lesser need for heavy engineering than other brands
Well this implies that CIG will give buffs and debuffs based on brands
Let’s hope not. The C2 is already flown by everyone. Why give it an edge?
Main reason its so popular atm is just how much profit you can make with it
Yes they already pretty much do
Right now it is flown by everyone because it is the biggest cargo ship that can load at outposts
That is going away in 3.24
I thought it was just going to take longer because no magic?
Can’t you organize cargo in 32SCU boxes though?
No, there is no auto loading at all in outposts, that is only at hangars
And outposts only deliver up to 16SCU boxes
Well if you brought C2 to outpost you are doing it wrong
Yes I’m describing how it currently works vs 3.24
Yeah but CIG already nerfed C2 autoloading times to extreme it takes 5min to fully autoload C2
C2 will stay popular just diffrent trade routes in 3.24
5 minutes is extreme for you?
I think they're comparing old loading time and what cig has in place now, before autoloading a c2 could take up to 5 hours before they reduced the amount of time to like 30 min for full cargo I think
Yes since 5min is to short
Read that wrong. I agree. Double would be better. How long does it take you to stack 32s? Smaller boxes will take longer. Are they timing it to box size?
I think auto loading is currently like 30s per box in evo
That number will be tweaked and eventually I’m sure it will be something you can pay more to be faster or do it slow extremely cheap/free
it was changed
To what?
first was 30s per SCU witch lead to 5h C2 load time now its based on box/container size
Hy guys, i bought a Caterpilar a few days ago.
Is there any recommended route to work with ?
I was thinking about RMC but it's risky to buy...
from profit wise RMC is to good
@somber bay 1 SCU - 2 s
2 SCU - 3 s
4 SCU - 4 s
8 SCU - 6 s
16 SCU - 10 s
24 SCU - 12 s
32 SCU - 15 s
autoload timers will be a mess if CIG doesnt step back and think for example: if 1 player needs 30min to fully load C2 it makes sense that autoload is much faster since port did not send just 1 NPC to do it, but im worried CIG gonna make manual loading faster than autoload so solo players stop using autoloading all the time for C2
There's cost associated with autoloading which will hurt your bottom line
Just depends on how much they make it cost to balance it out
This doubled would actually be pretty good and fair imo
@late rapids yes it’s Risky I’ve died twice losing around 10 million, no it I had of had a few gunners, that might have gave me time to escape but is it worth losing your money to make a quick buck 🤷🏻♂️
The last Evo patch still doesn't have rebalance ready for testing, so these timer numbers are still pretty much placeholders (and in Evo you anyway need to load fast to test the rest).
It’s probably worth trying to hire someone in a fighter for that risky cargo to give you enough time to QT anywhere out of the area
Once I landed on uneven ground in my C2 and backspaced and went there with a pisces to get back into my ship. My pisces which I left there scared other traders from buying RMC there
(rappel)
not even slightly suprised
some players land there and then find nice position and snipe players
You know the front part of the caterpillar, is that for carrying a small vehicle like the dragon fly or is that a cargo pod ?
it feels like a Schrodinger's cat situ, could be cargo or a vehicle, no one knows until the module door opens
I think it’s a dragonfly bay but can also be used for cargo
Sweet
Hello, any efficient route with the hull c? I found the following on reddit but I don't know if it's the best
That’s like something I need for the caterpillar a simple run where I pick up something, sell it and pick up something at that location and bring it somewhere else and repeat back to the first spot 🤔
you can pick up Helium at Seraphim - sell it at Pyro Gateway - pick up Hephaestanite (however you spell it) - sell it at Orison. then rinse and repeat. Or from Pyro go to A18 to sell and pick up a load of scrap - sell at Pyro - pick up Heph - sell it at Orison. The Seraphim - Pyro - Orison route will make you between 250K - 320K roughly depending on pricing. I haven't done the Seraphim - Pyro - A18 - Pyro _ Orison run for quite a while simply because I have had difficulty selling all the scrap a couple or times. The shorter run will cost you around 1-1.2K in fuel and I always fill up at Orison.
May have to wait for 3.24 for actual good loop routes for a ship like that. Hull C is a different story as it is made to transport large quantities of low profit margin goods, and makes money due to the sheer quantity of goods. At least that's how I understand it.
Whatever the handshake is. No one ever said a 50/50 was universal. Just depends on who you work with.
100/0 scrooge mcduck intensifies
Cargo payments are going to change a lot when people start getting pirated and they realize they have to work with people.
nah thats not how it works. No matter the payment players will do it solo and complain on spectrum if pirated
Good.
and if crying on spectrum does not work they will stop trading/hauling and melt cargo ships. Remember alot of players do role that brings most aUEC
I’ve noticed. All it takes is a small amount of discourse. But I get it. Money rules and sharing drools.
still look at PU now RMC trade brings great profit yet players trade in it alone despite knowing that locations where you buy RMC are dangerous
and they will stop that when they are forced to load manually
right now its feasible but dangerous to solo
Where's the best place, demand wise, to sell medical supplies?
The commodity rebalance in 3.24 could potentially totally redefine commodity trading and how it's done. That said, the danger in RMC trading is why I generally avoid it. (Only exception to that was at the tail end of 3.22 when I was trying to save up for a Reclaimer before the price increase.) I don't have anyone I know enough to trust, that plays SC, to watch my back for that.
start of .23 patch was good to me, had a full week and 2 days where i did rmc back to back from pickers field in my c2 before finally getting shot down by another player
That was then the duping started. stares in sus
i usually just flew it off to a station and claimed it when the ghost cargo filled most of the grid so no duping by me
I guess I’ll just believe what anyone tells me ! 🤪
Literally everywhere needs medical supplies. However the demand is sometimes as low as 10 SCU at a time. Other demands that are constant: Food, Stims, Scrap, Hydrogen, Helium.
All TDDs have a capacity of 500, Mining outposts 50, stations 10. Meds are only produced around mT and Crusader, so you have a better chance selling it around Hurston and ArcCorp.
I know for a fact stations can buy more than 10 and the medical supplies I picked up were at the Terra gateway
I'm in a hull c so it has to be at a non Lagrange station
Right, I'm a miner/ground-ground trader, I always forget about spaceports and gateways. Stations = Lagrange R&R in my head.
My Connie was shot by players. It has a cargo container left on it, but I can't access the hanger door. is there a way to get into the wrecked ship to get cargo?
You can shoot the doors open.
with ship guns or hand guns?
was trying with ship guns but no luck. i'll try arifle
oh i can't use guns here. not hand guns only ship guns. it's at grim hex
if I brought a vulture in and munched it, would that make it pop out?
is it a lost cause?
Did you try sitting it pilot chair and use Open All Doors from the Left Alt+F wheel?
it's too damaged. it's basically a shell of the ship. but it still has cargo in it. a 32 scu container
Sometimes the container will clip through completely destroyed ships, that's about the only other idea I have
how frustrating to be right there and not be able to get to it. It took a lot effort to get.
But have you tried ? If the ship is still in one piece, that should work
Shoot airlock open, get in pilot seat, open cargo elevator
I can get inside, but I can't get in the pilot seat. There's not an option to get in anymore
From outside the seat I can hit buttons for Open Cargo Bay and Enable VTOL but they do nothing. The ship is a shell. Like just the hull mostly
hmm I tried and got a circle menu to open cargo but it doesn't work
can't open it with guns (too close to grim hex). tractor beams are disabled here. I tried shooting it to bust it open completely. Tried using a vulture to crack it.
nevermind... after spending 2 hours trying to figure something out, some player has come and killed me
I was thinking srv to tow it out of armistice
my entire night has been ruined by players... time to log I guess
I was actually using my connie to slowly swing it with my tractor to see if it I could get it out of armistice when I got jumped
I've seen people drag ships that are soft deathed to landing pads to repair
was trying to save up just another million more to buy a new ship, but the last 6 hours have been nothing but bugs, disaster, npc pirates, cops catching me with weevil eggs, and players killing my haul of drugs. So, nothing to show for the entire night.
oh it looked way beyond soft death. It wasn't even targetable anymore. It was still 1 piece but it seemed totally trashed.
i'm going to just reclaim my ships and give up for today
I think I'd resent PC "pirates"less iuf they catually stole from me, rather than just murder me and make me lose something while they don't even bother to loot
Where's the TDD on Orison?
That's because there are no pirates, they're just murderhobos
nvm I am blind
It's fairly well hidden even when you get there
I want to say it's right next to Stratus
I found it right across from the green circle, there was a map where you get off the shuttle that helped
Huh didn't know each area had a map
I was accused of being a murder hobo once, but when i tried to take some cargo to verify my piracy to them (they were also trying to recover cargo), they still got mad. So really, you just can't win
They still have some good people that play. Talk to some of them. They’d be happy to help escort because they don’t like that sort of thing either
Because looting ain't what makes a pirate
It's the extortion and upholding of a deal that does
That's the difference between Pirates and Vikings. Pirates want some kind of arangement in place, Vikings DGAF and will just destroy you regardless 😂
Space Pirates vs Space Vikings, now there's a contest
Don't try to give the current murderhobos an honorable name and tarnish the Vikings in the same breath
not at all, just a bit of historical context 😁
Kinda hard to cripple a ship without killing people, at least as a solo pirate. I also don't usually pirate intentionally, im more of an opportunistic pirate, so i gotta work with what I have on hand
That's kind of the current issue, you can't really hold a ship, and the threat of loss on the pirate side is immensely less than on the trader's side.
Add in the difficulty of actually communicating effectively that "no I'm not about to kill you, just give me X cargo or some money" and even if a pirate was to exist, they'd be completely impotent
Probably cause CIG either doesn't know what an actual pirate is either or they can't be fucked to create the extortionists playstyle yet
Absolutely, but i contend that this doesn't make me a murder hobo, I have to kill because of game limitations. Murder hobos want to kill you. Intent does matter
End result is the same. A kill and a looting
Murder hobos don't loot, see above
Then they're not murder hobos
No, they very much are
A lot more is in the killing imo than the actual transfer of cargo
Ships really shouldn't be blown up in a pirate attack; it's bad business to kill the cow, and the milk maid doesn't want to get a hoof across the cheek and die
Ergo, if ya shoot the cow, it don't matter if you still get milk and meat out
You killed the cow
We've literally just established the game currently has limitations
Aye
Which I then agreed with earlier
Ergo
There's no pirates, only murder hobos

I'm defining piracy within the context of what's implemented and actually doable
Which arguably, matters more than real world definitions
My take..
Soft deathing, looting, not engaging the captain and then going on your way is legitimate piracy.
Soft deathing, looting, and terminating the captain of the ship you're looting because you were given no choice by said captain is legitimate piracy.
Soft deathing, looting, terminating the captain regardless is borderline piracy/hobo'ing
Hard deathing and looting what's left is murderhobo'ing.
And I'm defining piracy based on real world definitions because it still has impacts based on actions taken
You kill the cow, and you can't milk it
You buy 10m RMC, one pirate comes if you havent gotten in your ship by then, you're out 10m
Even if you shot them down by miracle, they lose nothing
This isn't real world, this is star citizen. You're being obtuse.
And you read nothing of what I said
Piracy isn't just taking their shit
It's taking enough that the trader can still trade and you can potentially take their shit AGAIN
Or just extort protection
Or just extort a "fee" for use of a good port
They can still trade, insurance is free, ships are free
It's not fucking blowing up them and now they're unable
It's nothing like the real world
You're being obtuse, and I'm done lol
Good. Then continue to fail to be empathic.
I lost my first 1mil auec ever in the game, so I get it.
Since then I haven't been pirated by anyone else, but had two other close calls
One sky pirate and one ground pirate.
Funny enough the sky pirate was the least threatening cause he brought some light fighter with like size 2 weapons or something, but only ever dealt like 600 auec in damage to my Connie with shields up.
He gave up since he never got through my shields entirely
He had like 30 seconds of the server not allowing me to turn on my engines
And we dogfight for like 5 minutes
Sadly he was so maneuverable and my fps was so low that I couldn't really hit him
You can't restrict the definition of piracy in star citizen to what works in the real world because death is not the end in star citizen. There's no incentive for the cargo pilot to value their own life over their cargo, so you're usually forced to kill them.
I usually offer people a chance to buy their freedom, because it's more efficient, but 99 out of every 100 traders I trap with a mantis would rather fight me to the death and make me steal the cargo than just pay the fee to not be killed
If they're just killing you to be a dick and aren't taking your cargo, they're a murder hobo.
If they're killing you to steal your cargo, and then steal it, they're a pirate.
Mantis got cargo space?
How much are you extorting them? 250k to 1mil?

most fighters don't got cargo though
How far does proximity voice chat goes from ship to ship?
you make a VC channel here on Discord and comunicate with your friend thru it
SC VC is just garbage.
The benefits that give advantage to pirates, also makes the "cow" unkillable.
You respawn in seconds, at no cost.
You claim a new ship in minutes, at no cost.
Worst case, you lost all your money because you foolishly invested everything. You'll be back in a few days, it's not hard to make money.
We're talking about piracy. You don't usually pirate your friends
ahhhh, and why would you like to talk to your victims?
To extort money from them rather than kill them. You should probably just read the chat if you want the context lol
too lazy for that 😋
Then you probably shouldn't try to jump into a conversation if you don't know what's going on lol
Naturally you would have a friend collect said cargo. And as for the extortion money, it depends heavily on the value of their cargo. Usually take 10% of whatever I figure the value is. Leaves them a potential for a much more modest profit so they aren't actively losing money (so the extortion is actually attractive as an offer)
The flip side of that is that there are people who will try extortion and kill the victim anyway and still steal their stuff. So most everyone just fights
Thought the discussion done, but the aUEC lost kills the cow. They can fly the hull but it doesn't fill the wallet back up to fill the hold
Also agreed
That's not the cow, that's the milk, already said, it's not hard to make money
If they can't buy anymore shit they're not the cow anymore, and I reference meat and milk as the salvage and the cargo
Unless they quit cargo forever, they're not dead
If you'd rather I just use the Star Citizen jargon instead of trying make analogy then say so
With what money they gonna use Krovik?
I put the logic down, you choose to keep ignoring it
There are other gameplay loops, there will soon even be cargo loops
You are not killed
There is always recovery even in the worst case
Cargo is the aUEC. They'd ofc be foolish to dump it all in said cargo but meh. So the aUEC this "cow" has is both the liquid aUEC they still have or the cargo they're holding. The meat is their ship and whatever FPS gear they have.
Thus the "cow" is their ability to keep being a trader. You kill the cow by completely wiping out their asset aUEC in cargo, and is why I refer to "milking" the cow; you let the trader get by with enough asset aUEC to continue
If you just fucking merk them and CONGRATS! you still have the ship, it doesn't bring back the aUEC now lost which may have been a considerable portion of their liquid aUEC
That is exceptionally toxic.
"My loop means your loop must now go away"
That's literally the exact opposite of what he said.
You're blatantly just being ignorant now
There currently is a trader loop; of buying and selling
Even in the unfortunate case person pirated loses ALL of their aUEC, it's not like you can't work your way back up. there are best practices and risks to trading, just like in real life.
Nobody starts the game with enough money to fill a Hurculese with RMC. You made the money once, you can do it again. Losing everything should be a valuable lesson about not putting all your eggs in one basket.
Aye, however the margins are actually notably low on quite a few goods
And I reference their ability to keep trading even with a "pirate" attack
Aye, and CIG has openly stated that they're rebalencing them, but that point is irrelevant to the conversation about piracy.
Type "Don't invest" in search, you'll literally see pages of results of Zorgh and others saying "don't invest your life savings in one run"
You bring up making money again with cargo amd try to admonish me for continuing to discuss it
You're just as likely to be attacked by pirates as you are to hit "fat air" and explode for no reason. Don't. put. all. your. money. in. one. ship.
Three bad runs means millions lost
One bad run means three or more good runs to get back to normal
whether all your money is 1,000,000 auec or 50,000, it's all the same.
You're either a fool, or brand new. And if you're brand new hauling a load of RMC, it just reiterates my point that money isn't hard to make
For comparison to a real good, ye
yeah, and CIG has stated they want this to be a MMO, I.E. - GRIND
so get ready to grind. Trading isn't meant to be an "EZ money shceme"
Hooray, going to talk about the BMM as a hauler as well?
If i pirated you 3 times in a row, you're a bad cargo runner. If 3 different people got you, then it's not really my fault? Nor did I specifically kill the cow either
Your arguments are bad
Murderhobo, not pirate
And yours as well my friend
Allllrighty, you're clearly just trolling at this point, so I'm just going to call it here so you stop flooding the channel with garbage.
But we aren't going to convince each other ever are we?
We did end. An hour ago.
Yall brought it back.
Let it fucking die this time then.
Sorry, two hours.
Go google the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Cute. And what was that about trolling?
just for reference BTW, you're the one that brought it back lmfao
Murderhobo or pirate, whatever your word of choice, the rest of my point stands
If you wish to think so.
To end this on a more positive note, nice pfp
it's why i bought the vulture with 2mil auec and grinded my way to ert certificate
no more investment risk
or if i do cargo running
at least i have alternative to get capitals back
Someone tell me wtf am I reading please
He’s mad that trading is risky
Well that’s also true
I hope the introduction of pyro will help segregate pirates away from proper civilization
Let's remind ourselves of rule 1
be respecful please
They need to make prison sentences harsher to encourage people to flee the law
But they also can’t make them too harsh and people who get caught will just be fucked
I was until it kept going.
And the hypocrisy was annoying
I will apologize for letting myself get to that point but nothing more
Because I am who I am
Just apologize or move on, don't add more shit
You did ping me
Yeah, I told you to follow the server rules. I pinged you so I know you don't miss that you've crossed the line.
Ah fair enough
You can either apologize without being an ass, or say nothing
In theory, if you go by the risk = reward system, then the biggest payouts for criminal player types should actually be in the highest security systems, and likewise the biggest payout for legal player types should be in lawless systems like Pyro.
I'm not sure they're going to go that far though, and I'm not sure how popular Pyro will actually be, at least until base building gets added. Pirates and murderhobos both are likely to go where the largest number of people are.
While Pyro will probably draw people when it's first added, after the "newness" wears off, I suspect a lot of people will likely stick to safer Stanton, unless opportunities in Pyro are really really lucrative. (Which they could be for a while, to get people to test them, before the payouts and such get nerfed.)
Yes, to make money they would go to Stanton and other wealthy areas
But, if we can ever get actual NPC security and enforcement, they would not stay in Stanton
They would base out of Pyro instead of gH
And Stantonians would be generally safer but small pirate incursions would happen occasionally
And it would really remove the murder hobos who would go to Pyro to fight
Except, in my experience, it seems like murderhobos like to go after more helpless targets, which would more likely be in Stanton then Pyro. Now people who just like to PvP, they might like Pyro, but only if there are other people there to fight.
Yes, but with actual security they won’t be able to reside in Stanton and won’t have the financial requirements to go to Stanton that pirates do
And likely won’t have the money or resources to find transient jump points
can the Taurus fit a roc or cyclone ?
!fit ⬇️
perfect because ive the cat for cargo but want something thats jack of all trades
Anyone know if you can open soft killed carrack's cargo bays? Couldn't find any buttons on the inside
Never owned a Carrack but I'm fairly certain the Carrack doesn't have cargo doors.
You have to shoot them open
Tried that, put a mag or two in a cargo door and didnt seem to work
no hit marker either
May be a server problem or a ship specific problem. I've noticed some ships just won't open
Namely the Corsair
the front ramp on the carrack i shot open just fine, its just those cargo doors giving trouble
Hmm
You should be able to make your way to the cargo through the front if you got the front open
And use the buttons inside
thats the thing, no buttons on the inside except for elevators
even went to the pilot seat and used the one keybind for opening all doors, no work
Weird
Not sure, I'm not super familiar with Carrack but if those things didn't work it's probably just bugged out or a server issue
It does not have cargo bay doors
At least not functional ones
Yeah I guessed that was the case
How long does it take for commodities to restock?
15-20 min
Will 1/8th SCU crates snap to cargo grids in 3.24? I feel like I saw a ISC vid saying yes but I can't remember
Fingers crossed. Why not just leave it in your kitchen and call it the mini fridge tho?
i think most things will
vehicle componets, weapons, furniture
It'll be cool to snap the little handheld boxes of weevil eggs and whatever else to the cargo grid
All we'll need after that for cargo/tractor stuff is the ability to tractor multiple things at once
I dont know if that will ever really be a thing
I can dream
just because it would be very difficult to control
I do hope that with blades there can be some automation of loading in ships that have tractor/gantry systems
galaxy, zeus CL, C1, ironclad, hull C, and hopefully caterpillar after rework
So I have a moral dilemma I need assistance with. Me and a friend came across a broken player ship, a reclaimer to be precise. It was trashed and there were boxes of RMC everywhere. I mean everywhere. We waited there for an hour and no-one came. So we stacked my corsair full and waited some more but no-one ever came back. Is this OK? I feel bad but idk if they even care.
Congrats on finding some legitimate salvage
Next time take it all
I didn't have time or room unfortunately. Lol. So was this just a player who left stuff lying around? It shows as stolen so I don't really know what to do with it
I think stolen needs to be sold at grim hex, brios or one of the illegal terminals
Not sure for certain though
That's what I thought but I'll have to look into it. Thanks anyway
You did the right thing. Why were they gone is what you should ask yourself. You stuck around so long like such a polite salvager. Some might call you a thief. But can you really steal from the dead? Maybe a Vanduul scout got them. The reavers out of the dark. They are out there…
If nobody came back in ~15 minutes it's safe to assume that they forfeit the cargo. If you'd want to be a super extra mega polite citizen, you could've asked in the chat, without giving out the position. If the owner is still on the server and intends to get the cargo, he'd probably respond.
It would appear that as part of the elevators update + commodities rebalance, POIs such as Nuen Waste are going to stop selling vice. Was having a discussion in another community, and an Evo checked out NW and found no commodity terminal. Smuggling might be getting some commodity location changes?
Thanks we tried to be nice about it but i guess it's OK if nobody claimed it. Still don't know what to do with it though. Tried grim hex but it still shows as stolen there
Armed A2 bombs?
You have to click near the top and to the right of the button (for Grim at least), right outside the edge. The overlay for Stolen has a sliver leaving the button underneath clickable
Help archive link with a video on Stolen goods: #📁┃help-archive message
Ok thanks for the info.
for future reference stolen cargo can be sold at cru l4 station locker area or grim hex, grim hex i think takes rmc and other materials while cru l4 mostly takes drugs when i last checked weeks ago
Anyone know when the zeus mk2 is coming? Looks promising
#ccu-and-fleet-advice or #star-citizen
Hot question. WHere can I sell Hydrogen? Tried using SC trade tools, but the places it tells me to go don't buy hydrogen 😦
Did it show Cannot Sell or No Demand where you tried to sell ?
CAnnot sell
Where did you try
Hydrogen is really bad, best to avoid it
Backspace
In case anyone else needs it, The answer was Pyro Jump point Station
damn that sucks, if ya need i could throw 500k your way help ya get back on your feet
nah, luckily I know someone that has a reclaimer so it won't be super hard to get some starting capital back
thats good news, i'd be using my reclaimer too but patch stole it from me and i'm a bit salted lol
nah it was it seems like it just decided "nah you dont get it anymore" even left me tthe upgraded parts at home location
it should have been in ltp database too considering i got it a few weeks after plaing the game months before 3.23 was a twinkle on the roadmap page yet'
I'm currently looking to either upgrade my avenger titan or get an extra ship, and I'm aiming towards cardo and hauling as I'm waiting for the cargo update. Anybody who can help me decide on which ship I should pick? I'm thinking either the Hull A, Freelancer, or Cutlass black, but don't want to be forced to do cargo if I don't want to :P
Im a fan of the constellation tuarus for future and current game play good all around ship to have in game
*Taurus
IMO you'll only do small scale cargo or vice, but Cutlass Black is a solid vehicle transport, bunker runner, bounty hunter. And a solid turret if you have a friend for crew. Probably the top pick for functionality.
Freelancer Max can do vehicle transport, bunkers, and slightly more viable for trading, but won't get far bounty hunting. I like this ship a lot style wise though.
Hull A is extremely cargo focused, I'd avoid it.
Keep the Titan if you can, still a great one to fly and claim if you need a transport out of atmo.
agreed, but I'm not planning on paying that amount of irl money for a ship yet
10-4
Alright thanks! Will get the Cutlass and keep the titan :D
Titan is my game package so I may be biased
same :P
I still got this weird small cargo ship that acts like a forklift which I can upgrade, so it won't be too expensive
already paid too much for this game lol can barely even run it
then don't spend anymore on the game - upgrade the PC first - you can always buy these ships with in game currency!
I know, but I'm not planning on upgrading my PC anymore besides my CPU. I'm already running a 3070 so it takes most games easily and I feel like star citizen will never run smooth on the budget that I'm willing to spend on a computer. My i5 12400f is bottlenecking for sure so will upgrade that soon
can I park a HULL-C fully loaded with cargo at A18?
nope, no docking ports and you cant land with cargo grids out, its specifically made to not trade on the surface of planets
You cannot land a fully loaded H-C. Until RSI gives us Space Elevators your best bet is a Space Station.
Can you safely land at a space station in a filled hull c or is it still bugged to explode
You cannot land a H-C with spars extended. You can dock it, or sell in the box and then close to land.
How can I put my salvage from my vulture into a different cargo ship
You can use a multi tool assuming you ha e someone on the cargo ship, imo best to use is a catipillar, can open starboard and use the open/closed doors to kinda indicate which module is getting filled with RMC at that moment
https://youtu.be/pQUTUFYYqNA?t=427 - curious how long those "sell orders" last for, as if they're not bound to that visit or a timed expiry then it could allow for some interesting futures trading
i wonder if the sell order thing reserves the max inventory for the seller or not though
or if it runs into the same issue currently as we have now where once the place has like 982/1000 RMC and won't accept your 174 scu of RMC you brought over with a taurus
and if it does reserves it, you could be screwed with people just stopping people from selling
what is the penalty for failing a sell order
I just upgraded my pledge from a hull a to a C1 spirit.
Make me feel better about my purchase, is it a good ship ? XD
I like it
It's a very popular ship due to the tractor beam. I'm guessing it's going to make it far within the ship showdown this year due to how well it has done for a lot of people
Good is a matter of personal preference or can be
Yeah I really liked the look, feels PREMIUM, and the tractor sold me.
Can't it tow other ships ? Like out of gas?
Not in quantum. It can move some ships in space though, just.. slowly. It's not a S3 tractor like the srv
Could it... hypothetically...grab another ship mid fight to bring it towards the cannons to be shot ?
👀
uhh... now that shields go down during SCM mode... maybe? lol
👀
I'm actually very curious of this myself now. because the requirements for tractor beaming onto a ship was that the shields had to be down...
Imagine your shields go down and you get abducted by a tractor beam slowly pulled towards a slow deaths to the front of the cannons
lmao that would be soo fkn funny
Or just simply preventing them from. Spinning or doing anything so you can keep shooting at them
Im in dunboro right now, the terminal does not see my ship....Do I need to have previously bought SCU boxes or what?
Im NEXT to it...
some settelments are bugged
Only working ones this patch is rappel and pickers Field
is sc trading tool still the way to go? am super new so still finding stuff out
Sure is. You can couple it with uexcorp.space, they share infos
They're drugs. Illegal commodities. It can be risky, but not as much as RMC
does anyone know btw why tf mu throttle (joystick) is reverted?
i press forward and am going backwards
They often are.
Invert it in Controls.
Not Keybinds. Controls, right next to it
Select the right device in bottom right
am trying to find the relanding gear option for hotas
any idea? soz for all the questiosn, much appreciated tho
Yeah except it sends you do bugged location sometimes xD
Three times in a row today I had to look 30 mins for ROC gems to pop up, only for the first rock to explode on me every. single. time. cause the server laggs too much and doesn't show the right power/heat
Not touching this game again for another year
It is
strange, the website said i could buy 4 with my investment but i can only buy 2 now
guess the price went up
it feels impossible to make money in this game tbh
feels sad 😦
been playing for 10hrs or so doing different stuff and made 0
best way to make money is to jump into #looking-for-session and help out on a reclaimer crew for a little bit. that will get ya enough to get started.
Maybe your ship can only carry 2 SCU? The SC trade tools price is up-to-date.
Bunkers and bounties my guy
Hopefully there will be more lucrative cargo missions in 3.24 to get started quicker
The new cargo missions won't be lucrative. If anything CIG is putting downward pressure on potential earns across the board.
Also, for cargo missions you will need a min of 6 to 10 SCU ability
You can earn via many methods. ROC mining, deliveries, bounties, PvE, etc. There isn't a meta "make a million aUEC every 15 minutes" unless it's an exploit
There are also tutoring available to assist
This game goes a lot slower than others. You have to adapt your expectations
I started playing during Xeno June event, with just a F7C Mk II. Starting from scratch. With little to 0 knowledge on the game. My computer was not properly prepared for the game, nothing was working. And to makes things worse, I'm only interested by the most difficult gameplay : pure piracy. 90% of my aUEC are stolen. No farming, no trading etc... I talked to ppl, learned a lot, joined pirates orgs, learned hard how to board 100% cargo ships in any situation, how to clear CS in prison super fast, how to evade without fail. I'm still trying to push the game to its limits...
Now I got already more than 50M in fleet value.
If I can go this far just by piracy, any noob trader/salvager/miner/ERTs farmer could do X times more money than me easily. I've killed many traders, some of them are extremely not focused on the game, leaving everything open, watching YT videos while trading... I killed one of them today during his QT jump, he was AFK with his cargo full. And they still make tons of money (by the most boring way).
So no, making aUEC is highly possible ! You just need some brain and motivation.
Interested in how you snagged a freight transport in QT unless you snuggled on board prior
Oc I infiltrated his ship at the right time. He reacted 20min after his kill, saying he was AFK during his jump. There was many clues his ship was compromised but he saw nothing. No CS for me (deep space). He will never know who hit him. I never react in chat.
Makes sense. In 3.24 you'll have a chance to steal freight at the outpost also. Just run up and lower the freight elevator and it's all yours
I don't even carry a rifle (do carry a side arm) and I've never pirated. I've been Maraudered a time or two by those who just kill and destroy for the heck of it
Can't wait to try those new things ! I'm not a PTU tester/user.
We're hoping for it to get opened to some Waves this week. Still pretty dang rough
When in EVO you can not attach other players
That's not exactly the most fun/engaging of piracy though
Weapons are useless anyway. Unless you're lucky or the pirate exposed himself. With the lag and everything, the first to shoot always win.
I'm not against piracy, but that specific mechanic feels broken
I didn't see any aspect of piracy being fun, it's not my interest. Nice thing is that it's a big 'verse and lots of room to play your style
Concur, they will have to fix that
We just to make sure that they know it's a pain point very loudly
It's never the same. I got statistics on my group. I did with them 15+ successfull actions, many fails also oc (money stolen from cargo or salvager). It's very exciting because you need to adapt to each new situation. The complete opposite to : Buy in A, sell in B. Repeat.
That's cool, the dark side of commerce, LOL
So hanging on the cargo/trade channel is like getting inside trader info (pun intended)
That action should incur a crime stat, but crime stats would have to scale higher or provide a larger punishment for that degree of theft. Someone could steal millions of RMC and only suffer a bounty of "oh no I'm in jail /afk"
The mechanic not an option is what I'd like to see
And you need to know every aspect of the game. How to trade (where, with what, the timing, players habits etc...) in order to be effective. It's the most complete GP in the game. Each little details, new thing can make a difference.
I'm the player that runs trades for awhile, then goes off grid for a few weeks just ROC mining
I haven't done mining yet. Can you describe that loop? Perhaps in the mining channel I guess
Yeah. The Salvage/Mining is pretty solid. I'll hop over there
Ty for your answer! That sounds fun btw, i could use a coach 🙂
i adjusted my mindset already, got to know some ppl aswell and its going much better! Am truly in love with the game now and the community is really great!
Recruiting now with conditions : FR speaking and pirate only. Just in case
how can i /w someone ingame?
That is awesome to hear!! The learning curve in this game is nothing short of brutal in some aspects.
I would also encourage you to not go fully to the darkside just yet ... LOL
haha, understood 🙂
whats the main diff btw between Bounty Hunter and Mercenary?
Bounty Hunter missions are (mostly) space borne against ships.
Mercenary is (mostly) with ground based FPS missions
I recommend trying to note the amount they'll pay and what the description says
ok ty!
would it be possible to use a Hull E for drug running?
There may not be enough drugs in the 'verse for that
To give you a proper idea again : I just hit a C2 full solo (not usual for me) a few hours ago. 8.7M aUEC just like that, just for me. 1h of work roughly (moving 600+ SCU takes time). Luck, preparation, timing, skills, game knowledge and contacts to clear CS3 in less than 2 minutes . And it was extremely fun, exciting to do ! Another trader completely unaware of his surroundings, I was not even camping, just passing by in a ship.
whoops, i meant Hull C
still has a lot of cargo space, but i know that you cant use it for planet-side trading
which is why i am asking if it is possible to somehow get and sell drugs from space stations with the Hull C
Can't get drugs from space stations (at least in Stanton) and they're not really available in Hull C quantities period. Hull C is built for hauling high volume, low profit margin items, it makes money by the sheer quantity of goods it can haul. Also, you'd likely need 40-50 million aUEC in order to fill a Hull C with drugs, for a profit of around 20 million. Even if it was possible, I wouldn't want to risk that much money on a single haul. Who knows what 3.24's commodity rebalance will do for Hull C trading though, much less for the drug trade.
Do those mission ever get any better?
i want to start doing more bounty hunting, but with a cutter its not really going as planned 🙂
what starter ship (limited recources/credits) would you recommend to buy for bounty hunting
and or is there a ship thats usefull for bounty hunting and maybe other activity?
I would say Avenger Titan…
and maybe one more thing, am so in love with this game that i want to go to all possible places and just discover, are the reseach missions for example something i could do to have that experience?
i have a budget of 500K and can save up a bit more if needed ...
Aurora LT could work, Mustang Alpha bit more, Avenger is best Starter for bounty hunting
However you'll be very limited in actual capability
MRTs will likely be able to overpower all three
Yep so far i know there is nothing below which you can do so many different thing.
I can do all bounties with an Avenger regardless from loot.
what are MRTs? or what you mean with that? sorry am not native eng
The titan avenger is very starter/basic tho, i also don't like the look, what is the next ship after the titan that is really great?
MRT is mid risky target. At the beginning you have only the very low risky target and you have to grind up the reputation.
ok got it. And what the upgrade after the titan?
and are those "research mission" sort of exploration missions?
Maybe a Buccaneer but you will not be able to loot anything then.
It depends what you wanna do, if you want an allrounder with some cargo, the next one is the Nomad but it will be difficult to do higher bounties with.
I would recommend against the probe research missions, I've heard it's been broken for years and when I tried it the probe just kept clipping through my ship
I completed a probe mission,, not to long ago, and it worked just fine for me.
Ah, may have just been server issues then, can't ever tell with this game lmao
Probe missions work, the only problem is that the payout is quite low and there's no progression to better missions/rewards.
Personally I'd recommend going for Cutlass Black after Titan, for more firepower, cargo capacity, extra turret, and significantly better vibe.
The next step from starter ships to what I would call your "first real ship" for gameplay would be the Cutlass Black (or Freelancer)
how much does he cost with ingame money?
i could just buy it with real money so i always have a good ship even after a wipe?
Cutlass black is 110USD without taxes included (in-game about 2.1mil)
Freelancer is also 110, don't see the MAX as pledge option but max is 4.2 mil in-game
whats the full name of thet "MAX"?
Freelancer max, it's just a more cargo focused variant of the freelancer
Iirc it holds about 174scu unless I'm getting it mixed with a other ship
hmm, the cutlass is way prettier tho 🙂
in elite dangerous you could really upgrade a ship very hard with engineering, is it also like this is SC?
maybe not with engineering, but i know there are upgrades you can apply, am just not sure if they make a huge difference
rn your upgrade options are just weapons and components like your shields, power plant, coolers, and quantum drive
For this patch I believe all shield health numbers are the same so just weapons of your choice that fit on the ships (s1-s5 are the size measurements iirc) and quantum drive
ok nice, tyvm! And do these upgrades make a bif difference?
i assume they also cost a few 100k?
i also read there are a few variants of the cutlass? https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/drake-cutlass/Cutlass-Black
with some different lengts and even weapons looking at the specs
I heard someone say cutlass blue was best
i see...
thanks for the answer
They're all different purposes. Cutlass Black for more cargo space, Red for a medical bed, Blue for quantum dampening, Steel for drop seats and more hull HP
the buccuaneer seems to be a very good combat ship aswell, but at 1.6mil it will take some time before i get it
No self promoting. Read the rules.
Man comes in here advertising a suggestion for the merchantman
Get hired
^ be that guy who gets hired to fix the bug that's been bothering you and quit
A good starting ship (with IRL money) depends totally on your focus.
For new players who just want to learn the game, don't know yet their preference, don't focus on making aUEC ==> cutlass black (not blue, not red, not steel) is good enough for a lot of gameplay (but not very good at anything though, as expected). If too expansive, Titan is cheap and similar. Weaker but also faster. That's why many ppl are advising the Titan if you don't know what to do. Can't be bad, not a huge investment you'll regret later.
For more experienced player, or very focused new player, it's just about making money asap the first wipe hours. Vulture then is a better choice. 300k per hour with no stress, no difficulty to reach asap your first goal (like buying ingame a Corsair, best PvE ship atm, or your first decent cargo for trading, or your first decent light or medium fighter for PvP, or your first true infiltration/piracy ship like the M50).
For social new players, willing to join immediately an org and learn with "teachers", the first ship should be the ship required by the org. The buccaneer is mandatory for some pirate/trolling/massive orgs atm. The vulture for some salvaging focused orgs too.
Explore the game first, don't focus too much on money making, find your gameplay preference and then you focus 100% on it later.
Don't do like all the kids doing trading too soon, risking all their money in one shot for max profits and then crying when a bug/crash/pirate comes into their way.
ok thx alot @ebon cedar , there is so much stuff in the game and directions to go to its hard to find whats "good" and what is not. But i might upgrade my cutter (with rl money) to a avenger just so i have a more versatile ship then what i have now and then see how i can go from there. Bc doing bounty hunting with a cutter is like trying cut bread with a spoon! Just to make sure, do i need to upgrade my titan's components? Weapons, engine, etc? It would be helpfull to know how BIG these upgrades are, in Elite Dangerous you could go from a base ship that could do basic stuff to being a monster once upgraded.
Yes, upgrade if you got the money. Weapons and quantum first. Current meta for PvE is laser canons (Omnisky is a good choice). No ballistic. You'll be ok for a while but at some point it will be too weak for PvE bountys (or too long if you're a super good pilot). Careful when upgrading quantum with the military grade A. Make sure you can reach other planets (enough fuel capacity). If you can't, then Civilian Grade A is better.
i have about 500k atm
is there a website that can you show what ship can have what upgrades and where to buy them?
ty
Don't hesitate to "steal" abandonned ship around space station, on the ground, everywhere. You'll learn how to board and it can be a huge boost for bountys. You can do many things with stolen ships (use the unlock bind when using the pilot seat). Just no trade and no stations storing.
and if the shields are up but you're outside of armistice, magdump a P4 into the airlock point-blank range and it'll swing right open
I keep the hellion scatterguns on my razor EX for breaking into ships
cleaning up abandoned ships to improve shard performance
Amen
but that's a good idea and im annoyed i didn't think of that instead of carrying around the Bass Pro Shops pyramid worth of P4 magazines
Also works around stations, if you don't mind a small fine
If im doing salvage work, that's usually what I do, steal abandoned ships and pull em outside the armistice. 20k fine is a cheap fee for the right ship
iirc armistice violations are 20k each (at least they were yesterday when accidents happened near Port Tressler) - cheaper than the big salvage contracts and easier to find and move abandoned ships than it is to fly the reclaimer around
so i could "steal" a ship, and go and do bountys? don't i get a crime stat then?
probably more appropriate for #flight-combat-racing but no, assuming you don't incur one when boarding the ship and assuming you're not doing the unverified bounty missions (Vaughn etc.) then you're just another ship shooting bad guys - you just can't store it, so you'd either need to offload any looted cargo from the bounty wrecks onto a ship you own (either at the bounty site or later from the borrowed ship) or you'd need to not care about the cargo and just shoot ships
damn, this game is getting better and better by the minute
but euh, does that also mean i can "steal" a ship in a hanger in a space station 🙂
i see alot of ppl stand afk so might aswell no ...
or do i get a crime stat then bc its in a space station "safe zone"
you can but that requires the ship owner to get in the pilot seat and open the doors at least so you'd have to follow them or wait in a hangar dressed like a npc until someone comes along and sneak on
where can i buy all these upgrades, the site doesnt seem to show it? I want to know how much it would cost me to make all these upgrades? https://www.erkul.games/live/calculator
soz for all the questions btw, just trying to figure stuff out and ty in advance for all the help 🙏🏻
Erkul doesn't list locations anymore because CIG changed a few things in backend and made it impossible for them to pull the info automatically
IIRC there's some sites that do mention shop inventories but I can't recall the name at this time.
ok nps
