said beryl
Then Beryl 100%. Just be ready if you absorb a loss
IIRC Orison has best buy for it
Beryl is found at mining facilities?
Some
orison does but theyve been real fucking bastards since .19
yeah...
destroyed my ship when trying to store more than once
Is it better to go raw or refined?
you cant buy raw
Ah. Thanks for the clarification.
And all the help!
WIsh I wasn't waiting forever for gold though...
Gold is good if you wanna get a small amount for a comparatively large profit
...without doing drugs
Hmmm. I was really looking forward to a full cargo netting me 900k
So do many others
Why shouldn't I run drugs? More risk?
Eh, somewhat. Also I find the locations far more concerning when you drop off and pick up
Hmmm. More risk of piracy?
Granted legal locations have the issue of being spawn locations for AI Bounty contracts, but they atleast have somewhat decent armistice zones
True.
drug dens have no armistice and people camp sell points
Not that often though, it's pretty safe as long as you stay on your toes
Main problem is there's also never any stock, or you have to fly to the unmarked locations which are currently jumptown
Thais sounds very frustrating....
I have a cheat sheet on the drug sites but learning how to navigate to the jumptown sites can boost your profits much more.
I was going to have my alt scout ahead in a Fury at Devlins but it was darkside and the Fury has no qt markers. Bummer had to alt f4 to get home.
I'm trying to figure out how to estabilish a good route to run but I am having a hard time getting use out of the SC trading tools
So is cargo worth running before you have 1mil to use?
thats what im figuring out right now
trying to grind a few missions to see how the money goes
what's the ship with the most cargo space?
Thanks, usually prefer to ask here since sometimes info on web can be dated.
Sheeshhh how much you make?
just did two runs
profit is 250k per run
run is about 15 minutes
potential for 1 mil an hour?
only con is that this is way too risky and this is mostly possible on a dead server
Makes sense I suppose I was doing a gold run on micro the other day got careless cause no one bothered me some guy got on the ship asking for payment I haven't done a,cargo run since tbh very disappointing
Sunday late night/Monday earlu morning seems to be pretty much dead times.
Aslo, where do you unload all that?
lorville
anywhere but A18
diamond sells the same
readem en weap em
what is a great trade route to use in a cutlass black?
IMO, Illicit Cargo is what I do in my Cutty B.
Can just about fill it with SLAM, ETAM and Altrutoxin in about 20 Minutes. The SLAM is really only what makes the pofit but will take you like an hour or so just sitting at the terminal. @cyan oyster
I've tried running Gold in the Cutty but it really doesnt net enough profit per run to maake it better than drugs.
anyone know how much people are paying currently for the hermit crabs and office chairs? i want to sell some but cant find any price to base off of
In game?
Because if you looking for actual hermit crabs, call the bloody Pet store, not the Star Citizen Redditors
They're called stone bugs in game, they look like rolly pollys. Check on #1019852856460853258
Ohhhh rolly pollys
Yeah I think they’re like turtles with the fact they’re there for decoration
According to SCTradeTools, mining facilities have a reproduction rates for each commodity, for example 25 units of something per minute. However i've sat at a termninal for over 15 minutes waiting for gold to produce but its still out of stock. Ive been on the terminal the whole time so its not like it restocked and I missed it. Does anyone know whats up with that?
what do osoian hides sell for ?
In the neighborhood of 27 thousand. They won't sell from the Mule take them off.
aaah that's why this package has been rotting away here at the gate 🙂
so the mule breaks them ?
yes in game
Is is possible to sell the drugs from the clear contraband mission? is it worth it?
The salvage yard terminal can see the Mule but in order to sell I had to go back out to the C2 and set them off in the ship's floor randomly.
!fit
#🤖┃bot_commands do exist man
And by bringing up that chart, I figured out that Nomad cant take up ROC-DS.
No way STV fits in Cutter in a usable way. How would you get to the cabin door?
Can't you hop over the wheels?
Pretty much that. Jumping around the wheels.
I know Mule will fit in Cutter, but you gotta drive it forwards if you are lone pilot. And forget about emergency exit by jumping out of back of Cutter.
Why are players blocking terminals so players can not sell or buy cargo
Never seen the issue personally; are they physically blocking them or breaking them via a bug/exploit?
I spotted a lot of american players being assholes when region jumping.
What exploit
During the FreeFly it was noted that there was an excessive amount of ASOPs bugged out; there was a method to cause this and from what I heard a group was doing it to protest the server's state.
Sorry what is asop
Ok
pretty sure they yell out their name everytime you click on one; though I could be wrong
I got mad so i blow up his ship and my ship and give me 60k fine 🙂
Yes, but with all the other sounds, and with dubious quality of file itself, not everyone hears ASOP.
I usually hear ASOT, with T being barely heard.
nvm
sc-trade.tools
thanks
And tradein.space for more detailed route planning, although they seem to not be as updated. uexcorp.space for super detailed commodity prices
Can you trade cargo off someone else’s ship?
in PU it is possible to store SU containers in a Hanger outside of a ship and have those stored when you store your ship or do they just despawn
Is that a question or statement?
I wish I knew the answer, unfortunately I decided to piss of the only guy I knew that was trying to do something like that
I believe you can
how else do you sell Drugs when you steal someones ship at JT
I don't know, I don't bother with JumpTown
but thats what happens, if you can steal a ship and get to a Planet to sell fast enough before they can claim the ship
unless you offload the cargo to another ship and trade it
A Question
the answer is no, you cant
You cannot, you have to transfer it to a ship you own. The cargo will still be marked as stolen though and you'll have to sell it at grim hex
stop spreading misinformation
Chill, it's just incorrect, calling it misinformation is a bit dramatic
From a video I watched it seems you can’t, you have to transfer the cargo to your own. That’s pretty lame. Explains why I couldn’t sell cargo from the c2 full of maze I stole from jumptown. Really big bummer
Yeah the move with JT is usually to have a partner waiting somewhere with a cargo ship, or leave your own ship at an outpost and spawn an S1 ship from the platinum bay pads to get from there to JT
Would seem the way to go. Just wish you could sell off a ship that’s not yours. It would benefit piracy and trading alike. Pirates could steal ships and people could run a cargo/mining operation with their own ships and people they hire
I think it's good pirates have to transfer the cargo, otherwise it would be too easy to just grab any ship you see and sell all their cargo. Also probably issues with the system knowing which vehicle you're trying to sell from, if you can sell from anyone's ship there would be problems when you have a lot of ships in an area. They definitely need to make a way to legally transfer cargo though, it's super annoying for multicrew salvage and mining
Being allowed to sell from a ship a party member owns is being worked on
anyone got jalanite ill buy it off them
a destroyed freelancer filled with loot on hurston and I cannot even use handheld to grab it ugh
bluish-white crates with a magenta number label
Those are minerals
But yeah can't loot cargo in armistice. Only thing you can do is try to use your ship to blow the wreck out of the area but that only works at mining outposts since a city is too large
😭
is there anywhere to go from a c2 for storage space?
anyone want some armitex armor? i'm selling some for 800k each without the undersuit
800k?? also #market-street #1019852856460853258
150-200k max
I put it in market street, deleted it, then realized it wont let me put it back for another hour
175k
Where do I have to go to sell Laranite and Beryl?
What are some good routes for Space Trucking?
I see journal alerts that can get me like 15% profit off of booze or medical stims or stuff but I feel like I can be doing much better
And I mean I can't super complain about getting like 45,000 or so for like 15 mins of effort in the Carrack but I wanna be making better profits off my trade routes, would like to see that 456 cargo hold making me closer to 60,000 - 80,000 ideally
Major planet's TDD building...
Try Beryl. Diamonds and gold...
Medical is best non metal or non drug running profit, but yea, like Wild says, look at Beryl
is gallog.co broken or something
its saying i can make over a mil on 3 scu of diamond lol
hey peeps, I have a spare P-52 Merlin referral reward ship, where does one look for swaps and trades? Any way to do it safely without getting burned?
Not in this server, try r/starcitizen-trades
gotcha, thanks!
Anyone know if the mole bags persist in cargo holds with and without 30k protection?
Hope they mix up trading in 3.20 to give it a little more variety. Right now it just seems everyone trades 1 item
Half and half
Large volume seems dominate primarily by Beryl, but every level below is a bit more differing
what could I actually fill an MSR with besides Beryl that is even worth running?
Gold or Laranite; although former is badly beaten in supply, and latter is a bit tapped as well
yea i tried gold and anytime i go for it there is like 15 SCU at most lol ill have to check laranite tho
Tungsten has high levels...
Tungsten has awful profit levels
109 profit per SCU
A nice backup if you have a C2
75.8k profit per trip
meanwhile Beryl (the current king of C2 loads) gets ya 418k per trip
Where do you sell that you get 418 per run ? I’m only netting about 190-200k
Maybe this route
Doesn't produce enough
Also demand is down so orison doesnt but for 1.96 anymore
Ranges 1.89-1.92
Before invictus gave everyone free cats and fucked everything up a full beryl load was 1.54 selling for 1.96
How did Invictus give everyone free cats? Lol
to rent?
Drake had a display and ofc they had the Caterpillar there
Oh right but only during the event
we're still feeling the effects though. supply has not returned to pre invictus levels because all those cats brought more people into trading
there was also the c2
Sm0-10 on microtech to orison
Ye
If you wait for server tick… it might
Not all at once though
does a full load of diamond even turn a better profit than beryl
pretty sure it costs more for less gain
Hey midnight, welcome to the big rigs! Beryl might be the best commodity period right now, between the price and refresh rate. Best place to buy is microtech, there's several different spots around the planet and moons so you can almost always fill up. Orison TDD pays the most but personally I can't be assed to make that jump even with a full C2, the NB surface entrance is much nicer. Plus you can make two or three runs in the time it takes to do one to Orison so the profit evens out.
anyone know what uncut SLAM is worth? can't find it on any of the trading sites
can't be sold yet, it was added with salvage contracts
the ones from salvage i can never sell and just drop em after emptying at brios
how profitable is drug running in small ships? just curious
i've never done it outside escorting traders during the SLAM Wars which was very profitable, and the only time anyone has ever been able to afford that
there is also others like thrust and stuff that nobody has found a spot to sell at
im hoping some of those new drugs have good value
i didn't personally go in but the person that went in to sell said that they sold it after i told them they couldn't
i was reading a forum post that said 6 scu of slam was like 80k LOL
guess i'll need to test it
yea if u actually can confirm they sold uncut slam let me know because I tried at brios yesterday and it was just locked
it was a post from like 5 years ago unfortunately i was just thinking about using a 135c as a little smuggling ship
i was responding to min min there but slam still makes decent profit i think like 5k per SCU almost
gotcha my bad lol
thanks for the info
no problem, also drug running is best for small ships because there is never much stock anyways
okay sweet ill keep that in mind for sure
i just bought a constellation andromeda and im looking to get into commodity trading to maximize profit. Whats the highest paying route that yall recommend?
So I run drugs in two ships: An MSR and a 315p.
The 315p only holds 12scu but it's extremely fast getting in/out of atmo and landing on rough terrain. I typically make 20-25% profit on a ~100k investment, coming out to 20k for a ~12 minute run.
In the MSR I'll chain multiple buy locations and fill it. Usually 200-250k profit on an 800k-1m investment and takes ~20 mins, but I always do this with an armed escort.
So the profit margin is the same, and all drug running deliver outsized profit margin allowing less overhead, but like with legit hauling you need to haul more to make big money.
That said, 315p runs still come out to 120k/hr, and you're never risking more than 100k and it's fun as hell. Nomad is also a very viable drug running ship in the same class but I prefer the safety of the 315p
I'd recommend looking SC trade tools and trying some of the stuff there, but be aware that trading system is very unusual in how it works
With a Connie you can probably get a decent amount of drugs moving or go ahead and start trying to haul high profit legal goods
okay awesome that's actually really helpful thanks man
Im trying to do high profit legal goods
Good luck as supply is fucked
how so?
It's gold and laranite but you're competing with everyone else for a limited supply. Most people run Beryl as a happy medium between profit margin and supply. The Connie will make you about 100k/hr
is it worth using the connie for commodity running?
"Commodity Running"? I'm afraid I don't recognize that specific term
All tradeable goods are commodities as far as I know
That's up to you. 100k/hr is what it is.
If you're strictly looking to make max $$ I'd reckon the Connie chews through VHRT bounties awful quick
Aye, and if you can start a group bounty run and mow through them then you can probably start approaching 200k/h
Group Bounties as solo I mewn
Or even better $$/hr grab combat beacons (if available)
They're a bit difficult to break into due to scarcity and can be quite annoying to get doing reliably at High and Critical
TBF they are very group centric; with that kind of pay it can actually be profitable to have 2-5 people splitting it
I feel like a tally could run a higher paying high risk beacon solo
But yeah critical no way you’re doing it alone and protecting the target
Soloing high risk beacons is tricky even with a Tally
I breathe a sigh of relief when the voice says “it’s a raid” because then I can just shoot everything
Yeah if even one medium ship spawns that adds minutes to your mission
Had one where I killed a HH and two Connies but had nothing to answer for the random M50 lol
Yuuuuup
At that point I’d just sit in a turret
I did that in my corsair for a few
Absolutely loathe m50
Be careful doing this department: I loaded a ROC DS into the C2 then bought a full load of trade goods from 141 Daymar. I parked the ROC right up against the rear ramp. On chat players said the crates would flow around the ROC. But once on the ship the ROC was all covered up/smashed and making a loud thumping noise. I went to Orison TDD everything sold okay except 57 scu of Beryl against the Port side of the ship. The Roc was riding up the wall and a wheel lodged in the ship. See screenshot. I did this sale without storing the ship. I drove the ROC off and it vanished a minute later. I was getting the impound warning so left the hanger. On the ride back to the TDD area the Tram froze up and I had to log off. Once back in the game the Beryl registered okay. So I am not sure if I left the ROC on the ship if it would stay there but I would not recommend this practice. To stressful!!
lucky you didnt explode
Cheers
Yeah nah, I'd recommend either hauling vehicles or cargo until we have to load it ourselves. The program will not be your friend
I know 6 months ago it probably would of blown up. Game chat can be wrong also. Surprise.
My Personal Experience in Cargo Running
This is more focused for new players with little money or no ships, but quickly for anyone with a C2, I would still recommend Beryl and I will explain later on.
Rent a Constellation Andromeda
It's a good mix for 76,000 aUEC I believe it is for 1 Day but you'll make that back no problem and then some.
Connie you will have the ability to defend yourself, have decent shield capacity incase of defensive needs against pirates comparison to weaker freelancer you can rent.
As for the Commodities.
Commodities are difficult to compete with other players especially when all trade terminals are now shared globally and not server tied anymore like it once used to be
It is because of that, I believe going to SMO-18 at Microtech New Babbage, and stocking on Gold is the best commodity for a ship of this size, as you barely have to wait to continuously fill your cargo hold, after the 5/10 minute refresh tick when the Gold Recieves more stock it usually has 70-120 ready to buy, if you cut the 70 amount then you could wait again or I would personally just go sell that at New Babbage.
The reason I suggest Gold over other commodities is the profit margin you will make in a small ship compared to big, you could run Drugs, but that would take even longer to fill up your Cargo Hold.
Time/Jump/Distance
The time to jump to SMO-18 MT to Buy Gold + Waiting for Stock
and to jump back to New Babbage is only 1 jump QT Spool of like 15seconds if not that, it's very quick to keep going from sell and buy point as they sit next to each other pretty much.
As for the waiting of stock and all the other travel factors, you can cut this run down to about 20minutes from buy to sell
Total Profit: Usually differs from 160-190k
Investment: 500,000+
Time Average: 20minutes.
For the big boys... just run beryl at ITA to Lorville... it's one stop 300-400k each run in under 20mins.
Total: 1.2mill over an hour.
Time: 20mins
Good write up, much appreciated
Thank you.
where could be the best place to buy diamond, gold or beryl?
possibly in the crusader area
Buy beryl in microtech sell to crusader
any certain place in microtech?
You can use the sctradetools website to help plan routes
Smo 10 or 22
Does anyone here have the Hull-A?
I'd like to know if it can have its cargo added in space via tractor beam.
Any website that can help me find trade routes? I trade sc trade tools but i dont understand it
try UEXcorp you can input your ship + commodity and it will show locations to buy/sell and profit
Tiffany’s.
I just got a C2 and I literally just have to stand In front of a terminal for an hour to fill it with gold. Is this normal? What the hell is going on with the timers on stock of things? It use to be slightly timable .
Doesn’t seem worth it over my Taurus. 300k every 20 mins with that thing on a good day
I've been considering melting my vulture and buying a Taurus, do you think it'd be worth it tree
By that, I mean do you like your Taurus and do you think cargo hauling would be better than scrapping
You know there are other commodities right? Lmao
Gold restocks extremely slow, in limited quantities, and is split across all servers. With a c2 you should go for beryl
i love my taurus man and def worth it.
im just trying to max my profits. min/max it . a c2 full of beryl only nets me 100k more then a taurus full of gold. why would i do that?
Because you’re waiting an hour for a hold full rather than one stop
everyone hypes up the c2, i go and buy one and now im not seeing the worth for cargo
i can fill a taurus in 20 mins waiting at the terminal?
i did in my first comment. im feeling the taurus hauling gold is more profitable per hour then c2 hauling anythign
at least with stock lvls right now
am i wrong?
It all falls onto how many people are running the commodity you’re targeting
With gold being available at only two spots it’s in higher demand
so I've made around 20 mil with my Taurus in the last month and a half. just bought the c2 and upgraded my Taurus to the andro. running cargo all morning it feels like I'm making less then I did with the Taurus
but i see what yur saying here
Stole this chart this shows profit per scu, gold profits are 3 times higher at optimal sell points than beryl, so if you feel you can make a gold run faster than three beryl runs then there’s your answer
Beryl is available at 6 locations and all have high restocks so I can fill up 600 at a minimum on one stop, and with a ts2 I can make a run from microtech to crusader pretty quickly, I haven’t logged my exact aUEC/hr but I prefer beryl just because standing around at a terminal is boring for me
Nice thanks for the info man! Im pretty new to the game and jumped in head first xD yeah i dont mind waiting because im watching tv when running cargo anyway.
That’s totally fair, I can’t multitask lmfao I’ve tried
For me there is no reason to trade for money, it’s simply not a good game loop right now. Trading should only be done if you enjoy it. There are far better ways to make much more money for much less risk. Hopefully this will change but right now there is not enough economy to justify min / max trading.
It comes down to enjoyment > profits
Wdym trading is great money, 160k/hr easy in a Taurus with Beryl, even more with high value commodities if you're lucky. That's about what you make with VHRT bounties but without the grind. And you can make 4x that with a C2
thats not true in the least and 160 per hour is incredibly low
vhrts usually equal around 300k per hour
and even bunkers outclass that profit margine by just about double (2 75ks and 2 95ks per hour)
Im going to be rich
So question on hauling cargo. I LOVE the game loop, but, it seems reeeeeeeealy bad money for time. Am I missing something? I have a freelancer max, 120 scu, and every run I do, takes like 25 to 40 minutes depending on the Jumps. And if I'm lucky, I got 50k profit, usually less. 100k an hour seems stupid low for something so high risk, what am I doing wrong here?
Anyone here have the Hull-A, I’d like to know if you can manually place cargo
How often to the terminals restock things like gold and is there any way to know when it’s happening or just watch ??
just got a donation. go straight to the herc for hauling mining orders?
If you have the money sure, do you really queue up 700 scu of ore at the refinery though? Otoh it's only 1.6m more than the Taurus, so as long as there isn't anything else you need the money for it's a good value. Although personally I think the Taurus is a nicer ship and more fun to fly, but I know that's a controversial take. If you just want a simple, fast hauler that can carry anything it's hard to go wrong with the C2
So I've done a little bit of cargo in the last free fly when I was able to borrow a C2. I'm not entirely sure what commodity I actually transported back and forth between a mining outpost and ARC18, but I quite liked that game loop. Now that I've bought a starter pack with a Titan just a couple of days ago, I obviously no longer have access to a massive cargo space. What would be my best course forward within the cargo loop that will eventually allow me to buy a C2 of my own? I'm currently worth about 300k.
nothing
no i was thinking more of the m2 since i wont be carrying that much but yeah the taurus or fatmax is what i was looking at...but the herc is fast
Just did a Taurus run Mt smo 10 to Orison cleared 79.5k.
You've gotta run drugs if you only have a titan. You can also rent a Connie but it isn't really worth it just for hauling since the margins are already slim. Otherwise grind another loop like bunkers until you have 3.4m to buy a Taurus, that's kind of the minimum to make a good profit (or the freelancer max but at 2.2m you might as well just save another mil for the Taurus)
You got a link on how to run drugs? My ship isn't scan proof, how would I do it without getting arrested and the cargo seized
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
just buy the drugs, and sell them
i wouldnt recommend selling at brios since theres a lot of people camping it this patch
ill give it a try
Microtech is usually safest, there are a lot of YouTube videos
I can help you with a cheat sheet if you approve a DM...
sure, DM away
Drugs. Yhat is drug smuggling.
Actually I had a big, costly problem with a UEE scan two weeks ago.
Here's what happened: I run two accounts and 2 PC's a few feet apart from each other. On the one account I had a C2 with some 250K drugs destined for sale at Devlin's. I was powered down outside that moon waiting on my other account flying a Taurus that would go on ahead of me and survey Devlin's for pirates. Just then a UEE ship arrived to scope out my ship. I did not flee but this was the first time I actually had the drugs on board. They gave me a CS2 for having the drugs and resisting arrest. (Which was bullshit...) and a fine of 60K.
Little did I know my drugs were gone also. Boy was I surprised when I got to the Devlin terminal and no Vice on board. Another player confirmed they can “take” the drugs also. So, plan accordingly lol.
@hollow sedge did you manage to use your tractor beam?
possibly a dumb question but if you have a ship ful of a commodity which is in demand but the stock is full is it worth it to wait for the stock to degrade oris it better to just find a new sellpoint
@mossy palm @radiant valley going to watch a couple of videos to see what drug running entails 🙂
Where do i find or how do i get Osoian hide?
Sure. “Bullshit”. Drug lord wouldn’t resist.
hey guys small question, first time refining, i put in a haul from my prospector and selected the highest yield lowest price option
its at this now, 91 scu's whit 24 hours left still and its slowly ramping up, did i fuck up? am i gonna be able to transport this?
should i cancel it at some point and if i do what happens whit the rest of it?
I don't see the problem, it looks like it's refining your haul. Why would you cancel it?
well the "yield 91.47 scu's" is slowly going up, and it'll exceed the 522 scu max my ship can carry
will i be able to retrieve my haul in chunks?
its currently at 100 something scu's so idk if its gonna keep going up or not
Yeah from the pic it looks like you'll have over 2000. I'm pretty sure you can collect it in chunks but maybe ask the mining channel
Its no SCUs but cSCUs. Shift the decimal two places to the left to see how much SCUs you get.
That is cSCU not SCU.
Centimeter and Meter
The actual SCU load of any refining job will NOT exceed the haul of the ship you used
When are we having a cargo trading update ???
Probably when there's a cargo overhaul again with Hull C and the larger SCU cargo crates
phew, thank god, thanks for the answer you guys
Haha
Ive just make 200k in 2 hrs with only 30k left rented 400i instead of connie by mistake
So not to baddd
Beter of renting misc freelancer next time😂
Connie Andromeda cargo hold should fit a ROC, STV and Outland bike, ya? Pretty sure it fits the first two. Not sure if there’s enough left over for the Outland.
!fit
We’re talking about fitting multiple vehicles at once
I don't recall what an Outland bike is, but yeah it should have more than enough space for it if it's not too wide and you put it in sideways
I put an Ursa and a Cylcone in when I had my Taurus and afaik the actual dimensions of the bay didn't change from Andromeda to Taurus
Nox, from C.O.
It does
Taurus has a bigger storage elevator
Wait the M50 fits in a Connie? No way
anything legal or not worth trading with a small capacity? like 315p 12scu for example
Great drug running ship.
You make 20-25k on a 100k investment in about 12 minutes, and the ship's perfectly built for it
It should be able to dock anywhere that a Hammerhead or 890J can dock.
where can i sell stolen Beryl?
grim hex
Can you rent a c2 to run the trading loop? Currently in a freelancer max and the profit is a little slow but I’ve made ~1mil, was looking to speed things up
Biggest you can rent is a Taurus IIRC
So I tried asking in the mining channel, but nobody seemed sure. What happens if you're lading up a cargo ship with completed refinery orders, but you have say less than 1 SCU or refined gold or quant? If it's close to 1 SCU does it just round up, or does it always round down to zero?
Sorry, Andromeda
Is there like a specific commodity I should be focusing on trading in the Max being a medium ish ship, or is trading just a bust right now?
Well apparently to answer my own question, you always seem to get at least 1 SCU worth to sell, even if there's less than 1 SCU worth refined
Beryl is probably the easiest
Gold most profitable, if lucky you can do 50-100k a run with freelancer
Also might still be able to just suck up a bunch of Diamond or Drugs if you wanna stay at an area for a bit
alr i have a hull a, don
dont want to use sc trade tools honestly, just dont like it
what trade routes are profitable?
lol don't want to use the tools that everyone uses to find the trade routes but want everyone to find them for you? dude..
I dont like sc trade tools cause, it often gives me locations wich is out of stock
Im farily new to trading @polar lichen so idk if thats just how it is
but sc trade tools is weird for me because I dont really get it
so im just wondering if there is any trade routes that are popular right now
There are no out-of-game resources which will tell you current stock in real time, but using the refresh rates you can see where supply might be more consistent.
any trade route that is popular is going to be out of stock.
Right now you can haul medical supplies for xenothreat, that's good for a medium ship
Recommended golf buying locations ?
The PGA store
Shubin SMO-18 and SCD-1 are the only locations
where do gasping weevel eggs sell?
Try an Admin Station...
brios breaker yard, samsons salvage, whatever the one in microtech is called
thanks ill give them a shot.
shows up in game as food.
but cant seem to find much info on them online.
i believe they sell for around 110k
nice.. thanks
why does this show that they pay 17,620 aUEC per SCU but they are only going to pay 8,458 aUEC for 1 SCU? Is this because they are 'full' of SLAM?
I tried to buy slam yesterday but even if screen said 5scu available it wouldn't let me buy it 😩
“Out of stock” items will restock in about 10 minutes, the amounts vary. It’s just a waiting game.
Just a repost of my own write up for new players or "poorer players"
Keep in mind, you can definately increase some of these profits by different buy/sell locations but personally don't think it's worth the time for an extra 10-20k credits for a extra 5-10min trip when you could begin your next run immediately.
Trade has been pretty solid overall. I even had an issue where when I landed at Orison (beryl run in Taurus), my ship went into "claim" status. I just didn't take any action and a day or two later the ship showed up in Area18 (my home) and all the cargo was there. Gold is rock solid for smaller ships, though its supply/demand may require either a wait or backfill of other ore.
hey i "borrowed" a railgun from another player and i was wondering how much do these sell for if anyone can help me?
I haven't tried to do that but have you tried any of the arms dealerships?
no value. shops buy guns for pennies and theyve lost all value to players because of exploiting
Anyone know, if I buy a sub item from someone in game, if they do an account reset, will I get to keep my item? Or will it disappear
this isn't the forum for that type of discussion. They Gray Market has risk. There are some forums that deal with that where you can get a more solid reply.
I mean moreso #market-street style trading, don't plan on buying or selling anything with real money, just aUEC
yeah it goes away
ty
there just isnt new trading routes man
prices got update in one of the updates recently thats what i mean are they correct now?
Hello all,
I'm in a party with my friend and trying to buy cargo from an outpost. The terminal won't show my friend's ship. Is that a bug or that's how the game works ?
you can only buy cargo for your own ships
We keep https://sc-trade.tools up to date from the latest game's files (not live, there's a difference there). Feel free to check it out.
Profits will be a bit lower than displayed as we can't know the inventory levels moment to moment, but the routes are all valid 😄
what is the best starter ship to buy for cargo
Maybe the nomad but none are really good for the kind of high volume trading you need to do to make money in this game. Your best move is to pick a ship you can make money with elsewhere and buy a cargo hauler in game. Although you can definitely run drugs for ok profit in anything Titan or larger
is the cutter a good option since it's cheap
Yeah but the titan would be much better if you can swing it. Generally better performance and 8 vs 4 SCU cargo
which ship will be better if you play with friends
Either, they're both single seat with a bed. The titan is faster, stronger and more survivable in combat, so if if you're interested mainly in ship based gameplay you're going to have a generally better time with that, especially in the early game when it's your only ship. If you're more of an FPS person though you can crank out bunkers no problem in the cutter, save some cash and pretty soon buy anything you want in game.
alr thx
whats a peaceful~ish cargo route for an M2 right now with at least an ok profit margin
why cant i sell my scrap on this outpost? It wont select my ships inventory for some reason.
Beryl is the gold for right now.
None. Just rent a Connie Andromeda if you really want to try running cargo early, she's on rental terminals at all spaceport, but you do need upfront capital to get the cargo. Doing it too early would be quite risky.
so if a place says its got medium inventory would i still be able to sell it for a good price? I went to this mining facility looking for quartz to buy but they have beryl too
idk if it would be better to load up on only one resource at a time or to have two
Beryl will give leagues better profit per scu than Quartz so yea, if you want to keep full loading quick runs do so
Anyone know some of the more lucrative trade routes going on in the verse?
They wouldn’t be nearly as lucrative if more people knew about them, now would they
It's all pretty much the same anyway, the high value commodities are pure luck whether you find stock at any location, the only secret is to trade lower value ones with a bigger ship
gold or beryl
or I guess you could do vices if you want more lucrative at higher risk
what's a good place to buy gold?
Does Lorville have an outdoor location to land for quick selling, similiar to NB? I've been doing Beryl runs from SM-10 to NB, but would mind trying ITA to Lorville. I'm using a Carrack loaner
Technically there is no "good" places.
There is two locations that sells it, but they're constantly tapped. SMO-18 in MicroTech is the one most mention
No it does not, and although yes Babbage has similar stock and terminals, the only reason I put ITA to Lorville instead is the sell point is actually more profitable then babbage.
However, a little trick for Lorville, fly into a no fly zone and get impounded, the fine is 5,000 aUEC and you don't lose cargo and you'll spawn in spaceport without having to land.
I have instructions for the Gate 6 surface entrance at Lorville. Dm me...
Oh I know this, I use it to get ground vehicles to spawn.
Kinda wish Arc Corp had one and even Orison.
This site has good general information: https://scodex.garga.net
anyone running salvage
#looking-for-session is up there
sorry about that

how do you transfer cargo to station to sell? the ore trader is not showing my ship in the listings. I refined some ores its in my cutti and I would like to sell this.
You don’t need to transfer to station, just leave yhe refined ore on your cutty and sell to the TDD
the ore seller terminal doesn't register my cutty it shows no locations when i click the drop down for location or is that raw ore only?
It’s not raw ore if it’s on your cutty. Refined ore goes to TDD.
TDD?
From experience what is the best C2 trade routes for you guys?
Whatever can fill the hold
In a perfect world, it’d be nice to go after gold or laranite, but there is so much competition that it’s all sold out more often than not
Beryl, Agricium, and Diamond will still turn a tidy profit when you can load a full C2
c2?
Hercules C2 it's a big boy trade vessel
Apparently when you self destruct it, it goes up like a nuke
just spam beryl
What is this bug i keep getting
twice in a row now i land and go to sell then i cant select my ship and when i go back to the asop terminal it says my ship is destroyed
lost 3 million today from this like what
Orison? It's been doing that to people, don't store your ship or sell elsewhere
Yeah orison
bro just happend to me on microtech
what ship u runnin
its happened to me tons, im runnin caterpillar w refined minerals
its happened at micro and area 18 i have never sold at orison tho
orison sells the highest so i usually go there but im just done with trading for now
lol yeah im the same way with cargo running but it sucks it also affects mining
am I doing this right?
A... cargo 890?
I mean, it could work
Hold up ya did that run with only one extra run in liquid? Ballsy
yeah lol
I don't do anything else with that ship other than take it to meetups, figured I would try doing a cargo run
is there any reason to choose a caterpillar over a c2? seems like you get more for your money with a C2
nah, just preference
any ideas on a cheap to rent ship for trading ?
got just over 100k so looking for something to transport cheap goods for a quick flip
Good for piracy in a large group since you don't have to all crowd around one ramp
Freelancer would work as well for a rental, it has 66 scu.
I think andromeda is the best bet for a rental
!fit
im thinking of getting beryl at microtech selling at orison buying scrap selling at hur l5 buying laranite adn titanium at hdms lathan in the hurston system and going back to mt selling laranite and titanium
is this route gonna be any good?
Beryl
SMO -10 on Microtech
SMO - 22 on Microtech
After selling at Orison don't forget to buy a load a scrap to sell at Hurl 5.
Arcorp System = Arcorp Mining Area - 056 on Wala for the following trade route commodities.
Astatine
Diamonds
Laranite
Sell in microtech to restart the loop buying Beryl.
Hurston System = Lathan or Bezdek on Ariel for the following trade route commodities.
Laranite
Titanium
Sell in Microtech to restart the loop buying Beryl.
only problem is i need a big ship for it when i only have a cutty black
if youre hauling anything below a c2 this route isnt worth it
what i would do witha cutty is sit at smo-18 or lathan until u can fill on laranite or gold or wahtever and cart it back to sell
yeah
ima do that try adn fill up on laranite and gold on lanthan
and go sell at hurston?
would that be profitable though
hauling with a cutty isnt very profitable i cant lie to you
but doing those high price stuff is basically the best for starting
i would love to buy a c2 but i only have 1mil uec
if iw as you id rent a freelancer for 26k a day and do either gold or laranite
i personally like microtech over hurston just because the sell process is faster but its preference
but arent gold stocks shit rn cus everyones buying
yeah but my home is hurston
xp
I was able to do about 20 a2 runs full with gold between yesterday today, just waiting at the terminal to restock
you should be able to do it just with a bit of waiting
where do i buy the gold?
ik i sell at microtech
but where i buy xp
what im doing rn though is slam etam and those drugs at the crusader system
@hollow sedge ?
shubin mining facility smo-18
so buy gold there sell at microtech?
so how much profit is it per scu
but its never a loss right?
Not unless you die 🙂
You have the patience of a saint
I was studying to get my drivers license while I waited
hey com, i am mega noob, according trading and cargo in SC, how the hell can i make money by using my "Raft" to ship stuff from A to B
and do i need to allready owe lots of credits to invest?
if you have some nice links to get a first step would be cool
I do a ship review of the Star Citizen RAFT from a practical usability view, and less about stats; though stats are included. Is the Star Citizen RAFT a good value? I focus this Star Citizen ship review around cargo hauling both now an in light of the ongoing Star Citizen cargo refactor. I examine it't utility as a 2 person ship, and see if ...
You can use the 96 scu of cargo space like any other cargo ship. Look into trade routes like Beryl Mt to Orison.
You do need some credits to invest and you risk losing them all if you blow up or get pirated. So don’t risk all your money on one load unless you feel brave.
any hauling/delivery-focused orgs?
last time i tried this sort of thing, the goods where alwasy empty...
so not enough stuff to trade with
but was some patches ago i think 3.16
It’s better now. You can almost always fill a C2 with Beryl or Agricium and make 300k+ without waiting. The buy in will be over 1 million though.
Titanium is also viable for less buy in and less profit
Gold you might have to wait a bit to load.
I tried Gold a few times and was able to get a nice amount by waiting on the 2nd refresh. It is costly but worth the profits.
Can I sell from or load up cargo from the microTech TDD/admin if I park outside of the Commons domes? Or do I have to have my ship stored at NBIS?
You can sell from there, I did it recently. So I assume you can load as well.
ok so I use SC trading tool and never found the stuff I want in the location they say what other trading tools are more relyble ?
SC Trade Tools tells you the best case trade
Unfortunately trade is majorly tapped by other players
Ya plus the loops are full of pirates not npcs but players
but why even if I change the comodity I want to trade it still tell me only gold and laraniye on the list???? same as location no change.....
I used this one https://uexcorp.space but it’s less user friendly. Basically you pick the mineral and then find the cheapest pickup and most expensive drop off point.
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
Although most popular pick up spots will have pirates now since it seems lots of people are hauling.
which place pays most for gold
what do I do to get around this error?
@rough ingot https://sc-trade.tools/commodities/Gold
nah dont @ me to link that sc trade sucks ass
How long do I have to wait for a refresh? For example gold?
I've had it refresh in less than 10 minutes. Generally I will go back to the ship and scan the air above you for npc or human pirates. Get in the pilots seat and scan radar for red blips. Go back in and see if the stock is back. If another trader lands I'll stand by the machine. Watch out for pirates running out and trying to get on the elevator with you. Happy trading!
Last time I had 3 NPC attackers at the out post. It's interesting that they can shoot and hit ships on the landing pad. I had to take extra care to not get hit by stray rounds flying all around. I ended up just out running them when I left the station with minimum damage
If you're in an armistice zone they can shoot you all they want but it won't do damage
Has CIG ever talked about implementing pallets to hold groups of 1 SCU boxes, or do I need to put that in the gameplay suggestions forum?
If we're going to have to eventually load/unload our ships, having 2x2x2 pallets that hold 8 x 1 SCU boxes would be rather convenient. Retooling the Mule to use pallets instead of single boxes might make it have a chance to actually be usable.
It even works nicely with the 32 SCU intermodal boxes, as those are supposed to be 2x2x8 containers, so 4 pallets.
How will AI cargo hauling work? Will we be able to intercept quanta trade organically?
I have no idea, but that's definitely an interesting question.
Is MT to Orison still the best trade route?
For?
Beryl.
Beryl? Because iirc that does sound correct
Does that material make the most money in a time effective manner?
Half and half. It's more reliably stocked for C2 sized hauls, but doesn't compromise the profit for that restock amount
But it's also well known
VERY well known
Lol im trying to restock my money because I bought a Corsair.
It’s actually painful.
Rip
Beryl costs a pretty penny but will get ya that penny back and then some
Just... be cautious. Don't buy what ya can't afford to lose
I wish you could sell ships that you didn’t want.
30Ks will be more prevalent now FreeFly is on
If you want a new car then you don’t buy a car and not use the other one you still have.
You sell your old one.
Rich folk don't. And you are rich, considering you bought a thousand dollar ship right? /s
Yes.
Not yet atleast
I can’t upgrade to an 890J so no.
Any ship I buy with real money is an upgrade ship.
Did anyone here get an 890J legit with trading?
What if I fill up with gold first and then add Beryl?
Probably some folk
does the freelancer max cargo door always have the visual bug or is it just me
wot bog
If you run cargo all day I’m sure it’s possible
Does anyone have a full set of Hurston executive Artimex armour?
Applies to all freelancers, feature at this point
Thank you
Hi, I lost connection when delivering packages with my friend and now I don't have any accepted offers. So the cargo I was delivering is useless now or can I do something with it?
Moreover, should I ever store a ship with cargo on it or is it a bad idea?
that has happened to me before. I had to scuttle the ship (because i wasn't manually unloading it- you guys wanting manual loading are nuts)
I mean it could be interesting, but definitely not alone. Just imagine to unload a cutty…. alone xD
what is the best starting trucker ship?
Mine was a Taurus so.. ya
My first pledge ship was a Cutty Black...
I would be very careful with big expense trading during this Free Fly event. I had a 30 K with a 1.7 million investment in Gold and Beryl on the C2. It sent the ship to my home planet at Crusader. I flew there no cargo shown on TDD. I waited till the next day no cargo present on the TDD screen. This morning I pulled the ship cargo fully present in the hanger. Went and sold it no issues. This was my biggest profit yet and the Gold boost (62scu) plus the Orison bonus makes it very worthwhile!
Yeah, seems 30k protection needs you to retrieve and store again to process the materials on board
What do you already have and are you buying with aUEC or real money?
You should be able to use the free fly freighter caterpillar
Even if you don't fill it up all the way it will help you get a head start on buying a truck in game and give you an idea of if you'll enjoy it
Ok, how many racers can a 600i fit? Razors or 85X. Seems like a boss way to show up at a race track.
Damn 600i has like no cargo ramp :/
The touring doesn’t, the explorer does
Touring ditches a cargo hood for a foyer
what is the best trade route rn
se
I did a science thing. Someone please look at it and tell me I've missed something blindingly obvious: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/14wbf4b/so_it_turns_out_you_dont_need_to_land_to_trade/

Thats fascinating but probably going to be patched if they do bring in the Hull C
Would make a for a neat use of a shuttle pilot though
Have a Pisces follow you, get to location, and hop from C2 ramp onto the Pisces ramp and go from there
Or just fly your own personal ship and have a squadmate hover it overhead while you head down and do the sell (don't know if this works; heard that bodies can prevent selling cargo)
So shuttle it be
Might be a wacky new way to try and do trade if you get bored and want to burn some time
Depending on how strong the join on those circular docking collars is, I was thinking the Cutty Red might make a good shuttle for the Hull C.
can i do okay trading with only 30 scu, or is that not worth it?
Not worth it
But you could possibly do delivery missions
You can also do "high risk high reward" trading 😉
Aka getting illicit substances and running them to Grim Hex and Breaker Yard type places. You will have to content with other players trying to kill you
Just legit trading requires bulk to make a profit worth mentioning
I don't know how all that works as I am innocent
oh my god....... the galaxy
perfect ship for this
Could do drug running or try getting lucky with gold
Both are quite hazardous though
hm kay, what about 96 scu? like a raft? ^^
wanted to have some reason to get me a valkiery biside combat... but well
Freelancers are decent entry traders. The MAX is about 2 mil in game and has 120 SCU.
The only downside is that it is ugly.
Raft is decent enough, MAX and rental Andromeda do similar enough as well
True entry cargo hauler is the Taurus, but it ain't cheap at 3mil (or 190 bucks) but it hauls just a bit under a third of the C2
Just over a quarter; for some reason I keep thinking it's 196 not 172 for Taurus
Taurus is good, but if I were grinding in game and strictly interested in trading I would probably just keep saving for a C2.
But Taurus is a great all round ship as a daily driver.
It's thicc
C2 is surprisingly nice
I think I'm going to use my Carrack for some light trading
Whats the crack with Beryl trading? Doesnt seem like a good return? Is it just better because of quantity
Yeah it's always available and quick to transport
quantity
Beryl is the highest profit per SCU that you can reliably fill a C2. That's it.
MSR I think would be better than the raft at the moment.
not for the price lmao
Why not just wait the half hour it takes to fill it with gold? I’ve never understood this. A full load of gold is farm more profitable then even 3 runs of beryl. Just throw on a show and wait guys. It’s so much faster in the long run. Might be a bigger risk at once but hey, that’s the only excitement we get from cargo.
Literally just keep the terminal open and lock the spot down until you are full
I’ve made like 20+ mill in a month and a half of maybe a couple hours a day doing that
Because with bad luck its not 30 min to fill a C2. It's two hours. And the entire time you are sitting there you are risking a 30K and pad ramming (intentional or otherwise)
And Pirates are aware of that location being one of only two possible Gold supplies
All of those points are rare cases in my opinion. In the last month I lost a single load and that was my fault 100% auto pilot heading to shu 18 while watching tv is not a good idea 😂
Risk vs reward I guess. I tried gold once and it was a shit show, tons of people flying in and out and people trying to sneak onto ships. When doing Beryl I hardly see anyone.
You can't lock the spot down though
Every shard pulls from the same supply of gold so you're competing with everyone else waiting there at that same spot on other shards
it's all the fun of cargo running
^
In 30 minutes you could do two beryl runs; you end up making more money than if you waited
You could make even more running illicit cargo so why not do that? It's all about risk/reward. Beryl is the safest least risky way to make a steady profit
is there a way to check the inventory of certain outposts like Private Property on cellin before actually goingg there? i used SC Trade Tools and it said get drugs from there and bring it to daymar but there were only like 3 scu of drugs on PRIVATE PROPERTY and so i wasted my time
Just went to arc18 with a loaded caterpillar. Opened coms and the docking port they wanted me to go in was a fighter docking port... was never going to fit.
Tried to.re coms get a new dock.
Game crashed lost all the cargo.
Games fucked so be prepared for shit like that
Are you sure you lost the cargo?
Allegedly there is some kind of crash protection where your ship with the cargo may be available to claim at your home planet if you didn't claim it yet
I've never tried it
If it had a fury it will fit in the caterpillar. You can use it to fly down and sell as long as you're solo. Your cargo ship doesn't have to be on the ground just in the atc area
What I've been doing at NBIS is park at the Surface Entrance under the tram line and run inside and do the sale. Only "pad rammers" can mess with you and so far no troubles.
Are there pads at planetary landing sites? I never looked
Yes when I relogged in the ship was stored however the cargo was lost
Nope. I've gotten anywhere from 3-30 SCU there before. Very RNG
That sort of circuit is great with a small ship, anyway. Runs in the 315p with 12 scu cargo were about 25k a trip
Do you mean for accessing a TDD terminal? if so, only NBIS and Lorville have outside entrances to the buildings. These are not pads just open areas.
Pads on the star port where you can land and walk in. I guess the garage is similar
400i or MSR for daily driver
Where can i sell stolen Beryl I can't sell it at grim hex or R & D
I think one of the Cru st
did a quick calculation because I was bored
Any big city
The Hull C (if it gets it's full 4608 cargo) can take Scrap at best prices
and do 262k profit
MSR
Will they not taken Stolen things though?
the fuck is that answer?
I tried TDD at orison they wouldn't take it either 😦
Doors add character
My favorite is the Corsair so doors don't bother me
And before you mention the elevator it never works for me so I still end up going up the ramp most of the time
I use the ladder in the msr
So I just tried the no questions asked terminal at CRU-L4 they wouldn't take the beryl either.
Try reloading it to a new cargo grid...
Is it better to sell distilled spirits or drugs?
Drugs or the other top 5 trade goods.
Thanks
seems like the beryl trade is pretty saturated ... TDDs are saying "no demand" and price is bottomed out. But it still pays
Hmm, how does the Hull-A cargo work, is it secured/locked, or can anyone nearby steal it?
(Same with the Nomad?)
how long does it take gold to restock at shubin mining facility
This isn't all that helpful, it's unclear, espeically since restocks are shared between servers. Last night it was restocking ~50-150 every 6-7 minutes or so. I don't know if that's normal or if it was because it was late.
You could also fly close to a pad, and then exit ship and EVA in (following up on @spare stag comment about not having to need to land in order to sell)
can someone sell me osoian hides for 1.5mil?
nice
call ig
?
German ?
ok party in game ?
where are u
?
As far as I know the restocks are static they dont change, but there are people on other servers camping the terminals that might make it seem different.
I just noticed starlifters have a massive quantum fuel storage at around 88,000. I think next highest is 40k+ carrack.
anyone can pull them off, gravlocks are intended
to be added
Is the best smuggling vessel the MSR? I don't see anything else with the cargo speed combo that it offers.
Do the hidden cargo holds actually work?
In specific against in game npc scans
its fine for smuggling but things to note are one entrance only and many doors to get through
also idk if the hidden area prevents scan but it really doesnt matter
in the rare instance an npc scans just quantum away
no cs for doing so
also, there is no perfect ship for cargo hauling in general to escape pirates becaue both the mantis and blue are faster than the msr
Ah I didn't realize you could just quantum away
The only thing faster than a Mantis that can hold cargo or a 350r and it can only hold 4 so I'm not see concerned with escaping other players
Cutlass Black might be the best with only 1 door between you and the hold and all those big side doors
Would be the easiest to get out of the pilot chair and tractor stuff into the hold
They are a refueler, but I don't know if it takes into account those tanks or not. If not, it'd still be useful as it wouldn't need to be refueled as much as the ships it'd supply
Wait, Starlifter
Fuck
Not starfarer
Funny thing is the Blue might make a decent small run ship. Same SCU as my 315p and I make ~25k per 12 minute run. Can outrun anything that's a threat and kill anything fast enough to keep up
That said my favorite way to smuggle is with an MSR and a buddy as fighter escort
You should be making more than that I think
I guess it depends on what you're running
I'm talking about grabbing loot from illegal salvage missions
400i
S3 shield, almost as fast as msr, decent cargo for drugs. 2 entry/exit points, airlock to avoid ramp risk
Just buggy rn with pads
For salvage smuggling MAX or cutlass black... did a full load in each last night, impossible to pick one
Lancer was 3.6 mil with maybe 900k buy in
is it here I can buy rare armor set ?
thx
I play things on the safer side and minimize stops by buying whatever's there and head straight to sell once I'm full. If I got 12SCU of SLAM yes I could make 72k per run, but I don't like to risk waiting for server tick or making another landing with cargo on board
It's mostly for fun tbh
I've been doing smo-10 cargo runs to orison In my M2 and been getting 300k profit minus buyback is there a better cargo route that may be shorter?
(Berryl runs)
anyone tested the " delivery " gameloop deeply?
resputation,or cash or whats it about?
I have maxed out my box delivery reputation once. There isn't anything higher than the 30+k timed / hostile retreivals.
Hmmm, so in general doesnt worth it?
With the changes they made to box deliveries in 3.19: #4-8-0-live message
Where all pickups and drop-offs are now completely random, it's not worth it to do anything higher than a single box or two unless you get really lucky and have a bunch in the same spot. The upside to the change is that box deliveries now pay increasing amounts the more you do in one mission. 3,000 per box.
with the increased rep, thers no better contracts or better income?
The only time running boxes was good for earning was when they had the NPC spawn bug. If you found the right derelict site it would have a good hundred ninetails to shoot.
But box missions can be chill with some light combat. And will get you some random loot along the way
The non-sensitive boxes don't normally have combat. The only reason you might get combat for them is if someone spawned a bounty target near an outpost or emergency shelter. Box deliveries are meant to get you small bits of cash so you can afford FPS Weapons, fuel, etc. You're not technically meant to do them as a full-time job in comparison to other missions, like Salvage. This might change when they implement AI Schedules and proper economy simulation. Because box deliveries often have you move around emergency food, medical supplies, etc.
The boxes that have pick ups at derelicts all have a few ninetails to shoot. And they reinforce with a cutty and a few more troops. You can pick up 8 sets of armor and weapons off the troops, typically 5 multitools with attachments, and rations.
You also get random armor loot from red boxes.
It's what I was doing as my starting loop.
If you have a starter ship you can also reliably steal the ninetails cutty without issue.
And if you steal the cutty you get a free NPC turret gunner
That's why I said non-sensitive boxes. Like the ones I linked here: #industrial-professions message
why cant i sell
You need to take those to a TDD, at a main city. The curved monitor screens at the Trading Centers.
im at lorevill trading center
They aren't curved everywhere
Really. Last time I checked they were curved in both Microtech and Hurston.
Box delivery should pay better imo
wait how much does the cat cost?
4,686,600 aUEC at New Deal Lorville, $330 pledge
alr thanks
It's been too long since I've been to Hurston's TDD, if it's now curved I didn't know
Orison a18 mt curved
Hurston not
Only terminals that use the black and gold layout
Other than olisar for some reason
You couldn’t sell because there was no demand for beryl.
The TDDs (CBD in Lorvile) will buy even when no demand. Best two spots to sell is Orison and Lorvile
One thing to keep in mind if you go to Orison and log before selling your wares. If you come back on a different shard and go to the TDD and see your ship but a Red lock, you will need to go to the ASOP and retrieve your ship. NOTE if you have a large ship, C2, CAT,etc, when you pull your ship, wait a few minutes to stow. Infact, I'd recommend boarding and inspecting, then stow it. Trust me
I had a full C2 of beryl that I retrieved then stowed, it showed full but could only sell 2/3 of the load. Lost over 200K aUEC
Good tip ty
Anyone wanna join me to do some cargo runs in a C2? If so, I'll be in the Casual Gaming vc
#looking-for-session would be better for ya to advertise
ah, ok

anyone know what is inside of these? just says placeholder when lifting with tractorbeam
How mu h
Can you sell "found" or "stolen" cargo at the no questions asked terminals?
We found a cat with a ton of cargo
have some boxes of quant for sale lmk 10k each
for other people's reference you can sell stolen boxes at various specific salvage yards on planets
And at the sneaky terminals, and GH 🙂
looks like all depends on what you got
Yep!
That was the most glitchy adventure I've been on
my MSR spawned outside the hangar or Orison when I went to meet the guy who stole the cargo. I fell through the ground at the elevators in the station and died, respawned at EH, took my connie out to meet him but I was invisibile. When I logged out and came back it appeared for him and we met up again. Next he tried to get into the turret but teleported into the co-pilot chair and disappeared entirely. He became a living headlamp until we finally jumped servers 😄
The new server was good but at the very end he fell through the floor of the connie and died 😦
All to sell 100k worth of cargo
took 2 freaking hours
but it isn't about the pay off, it's about the friends made along the way 😉
This has probably been asked before but can’t find it anywhere but here goes (so I have a vulture and my friends has an msr I’ve been salvaging and they have been loading up the cans into the msr when they went to sell the cargo all of the cans where red and they couldn’t sell how do you fix that) (update we have picked up every can and reset it back on the grid no luck)
This is directly related to my question
They are now considered stolen
looks like your best bet is to sell it at Grim Hex
Yeah just use sc trade tools "best buyer"
In the future to get around this make sure both of the ships are yours
Make sure you check the option for stolen cargo 😉
So you pull out your Vulture, then fly it away. Go back to a pad and pull out your cargo ship. He can fly your cargo ship you the vulture. When it comes time to sell you have to be the one to sell it.
You're losing about 50k profit per box doing it this way
Can I get peoples thoughts on the Caterpillar? Was gonna ccu it but I want to here all ups and downs of it. Love the look of it though I’m not to sure how useful it’ll be in anything other than cargo(though cargo would be my main purpose)
I think it'll be super helpful in the long run for salvage operations as well as cargo and transportation of small vehicles in bulk
The doors are supposed to be elevators and there will be tractor beams on both sides
It can carry a ton of furies from what I've been told. Could be a swarm carrier 😉
I'm super caterpillar races will be a thing as well, that just sounds like a blast
I think if the ship gets fully implemented with all it's features (modularity, elevator side doors, detachable command pod and the tractor beam) it will be very diverse of what it can do and how it will fit in different operations. currently great in extracting cargo in space, salvage (cargo/component/weapon extraction) and second best cargo hauler.
It won't be the second best I don't think
current version 😉
Aren't there some ships coming in that make the C2 look like a rookie cargo hauler? Lol
like short term vs long term but it's still speculation
Yeah
once we have to load cargo yeah
Is the intention at some point that we will load all cargo onto and off of ships?
Because that sounds awful
I think it will be a choice between manual loading/unloading and cost + timer loading/unloading like how refinery orders are being handled
someone correct me if I am wrong 😄
If they make us manually unload then I hope they put sales terminals near the cargo elevator or in mobi glass.
You guys thing caterpillar runs or ROC runs would make more?
Cat
You need to have money to do cat runs so you would probably need to ROC mine at some point anyway.
If that is your initial grind for cash.
You can also hand mine in caves on planets and make a lot of money if you get lucky
Don't know how that works but I've saved people doing it from caves
How much average profit do you think you’d get each run?
Assuming I had the money to fill the cat
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
The profit is low but consistent on Beryl.
Got it.. Last question. Caterpillar or hold out for Hull C
No
I love the aesthetic of the Cat but it's currently a worse version of the C2 . I can't see that level of modularity being in game for another 3-5 years at least
So many unknowns about the Hull C; it might be genuinely useless on release
Nothing wrong with getting the Cat and upgrading later
And Cat vs C2 is simple: fly the one that makes you happy and forget the meta. 576 scu is nothing to sneeze at
Can the p52 merlin fit in any of the light cargo ships?
!fit
i suggest the razor if you hve the aUEC to spare
Ok thanks 😊
Where did you get it?
First glance it looks like druks
If you're getting it from those illegal salvage missions it is probably drugs
One way to tell is to scan the ship before you loot it or scan your ship with another ship while it is on your cargo grid
Enter scan mode (V) while in the pilot seat, move targeting cursor over your ship and hold left mouse button until all the data populates. Cargo is the last thing you get
On the right side
Drugs of some kind
Hey if i have a cat with 2 mil what should i trade that give me quite the profit
Beryl
alr
You can check SC Trade tools for routes
ok
Just be careful because if you lose your ship you're down all that money
ok
Probably no where
Gold is in very high demand and there are only two places I think that sell it
do you knwo where the places are?
also where can I buy medical suplies
These are some routes you can travel
You will be competing with every other players across all the server shards for this supply and since there are only 2 sell points you will be highly likely to get pirate friends watching you 😉
Might make more sense to run Gold in something like an MSR where you can swoop in, get as much gold as possible, then scoot out
If only the doors didn't slow your ass down going to and from the terminals
Cutlass Black might be a better choice
Titanium or Quartz for caterpillar trading??
btw, chances of piracy are very high trading gold
there's only 2 places selling it and pirates are very aware of that.. so.. be paranoid..
Then what? Lol
Do you have enough money to fill it with Beryl or Larinite and not be 100% invested?
I have 1.5mil
Hey quick question. When do trading posts restock their items? I want to get into hauling cargo but everything is always sold out.
It's like a constantly tick over time
But the location has a shared stock over all shards so other people might be buying it out from under you live
Distilled spirits is low risk
I would just to SC Trade tools and play around
Quartz may not be bad until you have more money to lose
These are some options
If you do gold don't worry about filling up all the way just run what you can get
Until you build up a cushion and can afford to lose a load of Beryl or whatever without going broke
The thing with stuff like Beryl is the profit margin is lower but you can trade in bulk more easily
!fit
anyone ever had a bug where you jump to a point on the planet's surface and your ship just aimlessly cruises into the surface?
Ahh the glory of SC
just spent the past hour stocking a ship on daymar with gold with a buddy and we pooled all our money (only 300k total but still a lot for us)
I didn't have cruise control on
it was at 0
but we just flew right into area 18 and there was nothing I could do
I just hit alt f4 on the game and im pretty sure we just lost everything :/
it was almost just like the whole game de-synced and we just drifted aimlessly
any tips?
this is so lame because we literally just started cargo training today and were using a safe route lmao
If it's still in the middle of a jump to the surface (spline jump) and it looks like it's going to crash you need to hit the U key stop the entire ship and then again to restart it. That's the only way I know to abort a spline jump. You need to do this quickly if its still going toward the surface and passes say 6k meters from the ground. At that height you'll have time to get the ship restarted before you crash. I wish CIG would make it so you can abort a spline jump by holding B the same way you can a QT jump in space.
so.. where are good maps of the various trade stations?
i wanted to know where the terminals are so i can plan my movements
can anyone help me find janalite
If you need someone ingame to help you, try #looking-for-session or !guide, people get gear and more for guiding for the event, so could be people available.
But from what I know, believe Jnalite is caves only?
Sand caves only. Daymar iirc. But word is you have a better chance winning the lottery
It’s right next to the cure for blindness (and a kilo of cocaine)
Does anyone know if the "shielded" cargo spaces in the Taurus and MSR actually work?
No workie.
MSR supposedly does, Taurus no.
login started - I love these aspirational messages RSI puts in when the game is non-functional
Question - do any cargo haulers actively recruit escorts for at least some level of protection from pirates?
Just cuyrious to see if they are all running solo, or more as a group (which can be fun using the group QT function)
C2 ship safety option for the ladder if you get boarded by pirates: I'm out here by 141 Daymar testing the small storage crate (1/8th scu) as a way to block the top of the ladder from pirate's access. In out of armistice zone I used the tractor beam to drop the box on top of the ladder hatch. It stayed okay. I went down a level and started up the ladder. Most of the way up there was some serious glitching and I must of went past the hatch and was dumped outside the ship with slight damage. I went back up the ladder hatch was glitched open. I tried to go back down it closed on me and I was forced off no damage. I reset the box, went back down and back up the ladder. Near the top some mild glitching but the hatch had opened and the box fell past me and I was able to get up on the bridge level okay. So mixed results at best. (edited) I next will test with 2 crates...see pic.

Hey most of the moons have trading stations and some planets. Look up the websites for TradeTools, UEXCorps and Gallog.
Pirates can just go up the elevator though 🤷♂️
Wouldn't it make more sense to shoot them while they're on the ladder rather than try and glitch them out of the ship?
I mean it's funnier
Can you turn off the gravity generator on purpose?
Do people use cheats in order to buy every piece of gold as soon as it becomes available? I don’t think I’ve ever seen gold available to buy ever.
It's an incentive driven natural ddos for gold. Too many people fighting for too few resources
I would just to be safe
You don't strictly have to store it to sell but it will reduce the chance of BS happening to your ship while you're away from it
This concerns the time you are on a pad trading and when you call the elevator a pirate jumps out from behind the landing gear and gets on the elevator with you and somehow if the elevator goes to the first level they race to the ladder and go up to the pilots seat first. There was a big drama over this on a pirate channel stream the C2 trader set up a bait load the pirate got on the elevator and it stopped at the first level he headed to the ladder the ladder was blocked at the top with a "box" could not ascend the trader had gone up to the pilots seat and flew up some the pirate was trapped on the cargo level and it went on from there. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1vIYtfW60Q
Here is STILL ANOTHER!! secret to dealing with pirates.

That's incredible
I think you need to try with the size 2 box not the tiny one you get from the cargo loading zone
It needs to be big enough to wedge in place and not move around
Will investigate that but if the 1 scu crate is not an inventory item it would have to fit on the elevator. Plus there's a partial railing around the ladder top area.
How much SCU does a Hull-A carry
96???
64
Yeah ,with Hull-A and base Freelancer the choice of between more cargo and firepower (freelancer with 66 SCU, and 4xS3 guns, 2xS1 turret) and longer range and better insides (Hull-A).
Just had my first pirate extortion!
Very exciting.
ooof, my condolences.
Asked for 200k, I obliged since I had like 350k of gold loaded
they did let me go free
Definitely one of my favourite moments in this game so far, up there with the Medrunners getting my ass out of Ghost Hollow (definitely not an ad)
I read that as eating like 3 times. Was so confused
That is not a pirate.
C2에 실린 화물정보
약 200만 aUEC 상당의 화물
다이아몬드 535 SCU
라란나이트 94 SCU
아스타틴 67 SCU

Both attacks were destructive and costly to the traders involved. Looks like ladder blocking doesn't work in zero G. Surprize.
Hey guys, I recently reinstalled SC and want to give cargo and trading a shot. I have the base Aurora for now, I know it's not optimal it's what I have. Where do I even get started? What do I need to do
The profit per SCU of cargo is actually quite low, but if you want to get started with low SCU loads then doing drug runs or gold may work a bit.
Honestly, the big money is in having money and doing large hauls with C2 or Caterpillar
So-so. You get well made insides, but tradeoff is piddly defense capabilities and 2 SCU short of base Freelancer who's got 66 SCUs of cargo, can double as vehicle carrier, and has 4xS3 laser cannons by default for pilot self defense and rear facing turret with 2xS1 laser repeaters.
I see, but what’s the price of the freelancer?
1.697 million
I'd go with a Cutty Black. Lots of gameplay loops opened up and a solid drug smuggling ship
Wdym by gameplay loops? I’m basically a newbie
Just different types of missions and ways to make money. Bunkers, space bounties, cargo hauling, mining, etc.
I see, with the bunkers, is it like normal bounty-hunting? Where you can upgrade for a better payout? Or is it 15k all the way
As you progress trough mercenary tiers, you get better jobs, but not all jobs are easy or bug safe.
So there's two ways to do bunkers:
-As bounties labeled "?RT"
-Any of the Mercenary category missions
I would focus on the latter since they pay very well at the higher tiers
Thanks boys, it's much appreciated since I have no friends that play this
Thanks a lot
NP! Check out #looking-for-session
Lots of friendly folks who like to help newbies
Does the MSR protect drug smugglers from scans currently? (Please @ with a reply)
Supposedly.
It's only 6 SCU of hidden cargo, barely worth mention
You could probably stack more back there but then you risk esplosions
Taurus also has shielded cargo, but it doesnt work.
I might go out and test the MSR's shielded cargo
Maybe it's the whole crawlspace area. Even if it's just the 6scu it's really good for risky salvage where you're hand loading anyway
For now I don't believe there is any penalty for just flying away from security
Cutty Black seems to be the best bet. Only one door to open between you and the cargo
MSR is great if you're doing it duo though
I stood in the back /atease to remain g safe and loaded while the other guy flew and we made a killing
If only I could. I just don't trust going in & out of a salvage yard with a Cutty -- the most dangerous part of the whole job. Cutty can't run or fight in that situation, whereas the MSR can get out of dodge if something's going on
Cutty blue is pretty solid for the job but it's atmo flight is pretty bad
You don't need to go to a salvage yard
