For one thing you cannot sell normal trade goods on the various moons. Sell all at the TDD terminals in the major cities. If you are good at fleeing then you don't need a turret gunner unless they are real cheap to employ.

I keep records of my C2 trade profits and can score a full load if I backfill with something like Titanium. The most famous Laranite and Titanium run is Lathan to Lorville. I buy the Lara first and have gotten between 21 scu to 88. Then backfill with Titanium. When taking off set QT to Lorville in advance you can boost right away and lock on in like 6 seconds and be gone. My profits have been: 56k, 117 k, 93 k...

That's great if you can get 100 LARA!! My one time I cracked 100K I scored 88 LARA. Another crazy thing I have done is just buy the LARA, go back to port and wait some 5-6 hours then go back for just LARA, etc. I can do this as I have a 2nd account. I filled an A2 with Vice in this fashion. Vice is the real money.

You can test fly mine. I found a good way to land it seems way smoother and precise that the other way I was using. Set a custom camera view looking straight down at ship. Landing this beast seems a lot easier now.

I'm using SC Tools to find cargo routes, but as I understand it, a lot of people use SC Tools, and there purchases on there servers will effect the stock and prices on my server, right? So my confusion is... How the hell do I make money moving cargo if every route the tool gives me ends up being out of stock/low stock on things I need, and full of stock on the things I need to sell? I don't know enough to like, make my own route, so I'm just using SC Tools, which recommends running Astatine in various loops, but everywhere I go is low on astitine, and places I sell already have plenty. Am I missing something here?

Then I would begin by looking at my choices in term of how much currency you have, and what return you would get from your purchase.

For me, I usually start small, because that's all I could afford, then then, slowly increase the money invested.

I find that I spend a lot of time selling the product just because I can't sell everything at once, at the best prices. So I go to different places to sell them, until they are all gone.

Taurus has 168 scu? The basic cargo run involves buying a high tier trade item like Laranite, Meds, Agricium you will only get a finite supply. Then you top off with unlimited trade items like gold, diamonds and Titanium. Be careful at first until you get the hang of the routes and maybe only invest 50% of your cash supply. Eventually you will earn enough to buy full loads. Good luck.

I’d say go to a different outpost. Waiting at an outpost makes it easier for pirates to find your ship, and if they do find you, the longer you wait the more time they have to set up. Piracy isn’t really that common, but it does happen, so this helps reduce the risk of it

It's called 30k protection, don't claim your ship, it's not instant It takes awhile sometimes an hour or 24 hours. If it works it should respawn with your cargo at you selected starting location. New Babbage, lorvile, orison, ect...

Yeah, as I recall, the way the 30k protection used to work in 3.17 was that after the 30k you would wait like 15 minutes then get back in the game. At that point you'd basically be able to put the ship with the cargo in any bay in the system WITHOUT having to claim it. I've not seen it work correctly in 3.18.x. Guess it's now one of those features which comes and goes like working elevators.

Yeah, it does not work in this update, there is even thread about it on council site. After such loss each time i took my fighter and went to place of 30k to check if ship survived, but i had no luck 😦

Higher tiers would require more capable ships, just like bounty hunter Higher tiers now do with 3.19

So you don't own what you transport but you are responsible of it and have to pay if you fail the mission, either because you got boarded/destroyed or because you chose to make big money on one shot and sell your whole cargo to GH despite not owning it. You would have CS for doing so

Tier 5 cargo haul could be between systems. Transport 500SCU from stanton to pyro, 500k aUEC.
Huge cargo haulers like hull e could do multiple contracts at once since they can transport much more than this

This fucking game! I loaded 144 scu into a C2 at one location then went to another location and loaded the rest. When I got back into the C2, I saw that it hadn't updated to show all the cargo. I went back to the terminal where I'd completed the load and it said the ship was full, and it did take my money, so I assumed it was a visual glitch. When I got to the selling point, however,, I only had 144 scu. The fucking game basically just stole around 550 scu from me. Any way to get that back?

Not per location but server/regions wide not sure what that really means. If high value and thus limited supply buy the first amount wait 10 minutes buy more high value then backfill any remainder and head to the TDD.

each location has its own stock but the way it works is every location pulls their supply from one regionwide pool. This means you can get unlucky and in theory someone in a different server can show up to the location youre visiting 30 seconds before you get there and buy out the supply

Serious suggestion is to avoid the Cargo game loop for the time being - salvage is a little better. The reason I suggest this is that people are losing a lot of cargo right now with 30ks and server instability. Once they have proper 30k protection working again, it might be safer, but for the moment it's causing a great deal of problems.

There's also rumors that 3.20 is going to include some potential cargo updates with a very massive cargo ship coming out, but rumors and timelines in SC are never to be trusted.

So, you may want to target the Vulture. It will serve as a Salvage ship, and has some minor SCU capacity to run small cargo if you chose, but the Salvage aspect will earn you money so you can buy a true cargo ship in-game when you feel it's safer to attempt that game loop.
