I"m really jazzed about the 600i offering, the Explorer has peaked my interest
Indeed
*rework
was it the t2 medbed?
Never thought I would buy a connie, but I really like my taurus. Just takes time getting used to flying it and such
yes, it was @mighty prawn
Taurus was my intro to the game, the addition started shortly after that
plus the true cargo and ramp area for the 600i Explorer rework is excellent
Yeah, a lot of people are paying attention to 600i because of the medbed. I hope the price does not raise up than it is now. I really want a good CCU deal 😄
I could see that beauty being my everyday, LOL
I watched some videos, but I did not see any pictures of the cargo / ramp area for 600i Explorer, do you remember any specific details of this?
I only heard that it can fit up to nova
I saw the concept picture with the Nova tank in the ship
ok, I will look up again, I really want to see it
I couldn't find the one with the tank in it
Thanks. And wow, this looks great!
Now I am hoping they do not release the rework before I can get a CCU chain. I think the next one is Invictas, right.
yes, twice a year and ILW is the other 'big' sale
that broadcast that has the rework info about the 600i is worth a watch
Ok, I will look it up
I do remember where some CIG employees were talking about it, but I lost interested when they were NOT showing what they were talking about. They talked like it's almost done, but I didn't sense that.
they had graphics of some of the work, iirc
I hope they did not touch the elevator straight to the cockpit, I really liked that.
They claim that most of the external is about the same. There was suppose to be a hatch maybe? I can't recall
Big issue found, CIG shutting down PTU for a bit
What was this big issue?
Welcome to The Mongrel Court. In this episode Agens is asking 3 industrialist players "How do you think industrial gameplay will be impacted in 3.18?"
Those 3 industrialists are:
- @Croncy - Research & Industrial Brigade Security - https://www.twitch.tv/croncy https://www.youtube.com/@Croncy
- @JackAxton - Taipan Trading - https://www.youtube.c...
Thanks!
Are we still getting a wipe before Xmas
I'd be rather surprised if 3.18 makes LIVE before Christmas, but stranger things have happened
I think they said PTU release by the end of the year to everyone and live release on january. I hope for 1st or 2nd week of jan
No, they never said we'd get a wipe before christmas
Today's news post explicitly says 3.18 LIVE in january
Gonna be a very bumpy ride
hopefully enough data will be gathered in Wave 1 to make some good progress. Since they already found a server lock, it must be making an impact
Unfortunately I didn't back away from the rock before the crack. However, the scout stayed so I could repair and come back. All together we harvested around 140 scu's of Quant from just that rock. I filled my Prospector with 32 scu and the Mole got the rest. We got around 470,000 aUEC's from one rock.
Here's how I pop big rocks:
Prospector Se...
PTU back online if you want to test Salvage
thanks!
are there any places that tend to have better stock of drugs? i can't fill up much of my freelancer max here in crusader
Reclamation and disposal orinth on hurston, outpost 54 (I think) on microtech, and neun waste management all sell drugs. There’s probably more sites but those are the ones I know about
thanks mate
Also the jumptown locations, but those take longer to get to so I don’t really consider them
i suppose
how much profit can you make optimally? i only made 80k after going to like 3 places in crusader
does stuff sell better in hurston?
Contraband vice sales are super slow, it's not how much you can buy because you could fill a C2 BUT the buy back is super low and slow.
what is better for cargo?
Right now cargo is skewed to favor only the largest ships like the C2, CAT, etc. What are you running in?
a freelancer max
i'm really just trying out new parts of the game before the wipe tbh
Love the MAX but your margin is going to be tiny
yeah i got 80k last time
But you can learn the basics, etc. Making 80k in a MAX trading Vice isn't bad
time is the only down side
i suppose, but yeah it isn't very time efficient
i spent around 400k buying out all the outposts i went to for that, so it isn't an awful return
I think 2023 might be the year of Trade for SC but it's going to take awhile
C2 hauling Titanium, Asitaine out of Ida, Laranite in what you can get and backfilling with titanium
oh okay
You can make about 30K in one short trip hauling scrap from Area18 TDD to ARC-L1
what tend to be the profits for one haul of these?
Astatine is about 100k if you can pull a full load
that's one trip
I don't recall Titanium
I think it's close to 100K also if you can get market price of 8.9 per unit (at a buy of 7.1)
alright thanks!
do you know where i can find info for this sort of thing
like locations to buy and sell and stuff?
is there a website or yt channel or discord or something?
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
I typically trade 10SCU of etam+neon at a time, that way I can basically garuntee I sell my load in one go. You can take your chances and buy 20SCU of each at a time, but you’re risking not being able to sell all of it in one go
Drug trading is time consuming compared to normal trading since you have to go to outposts scattered everywhere, but you definitely make more per load than you would trading traditional cargo with a smaller ship
I also enjoy it because it’s cool
thanks that was exactly what i was looking for
i'll probably do some drug trading, but i'll def try normal trading today
Good idea
also nice pfp
Thanks lol
My method for SLAM stored in a Nomad at Crul5. 89K profit over 20 visits. Buy at the Private Property site they should fill the ship. Just treat the stored Nomad like an ATM machine. Haven't tried this with a bigger ship.
How do you change the salvage beam? Wide vs narrow

@pine mortar
Ayyy
I managed to land on new babagge with a level 5 crimestat to deliver some SLAM
And can i mine with a drake cutter?
Guys new player here, is the Prospector a good ship to upgrade to from my cutlass if I just want to solo mine
or have a friend along
I just want to be sure unless saving for a better ship would be more prudent
i would be getting roughly half the cost of the prospector with credit so 55$
yeap im going to click on that mining basics link lol
I regret not having a cutlass black any more. Buy a prospector in game or rent one and see how you like it.
interesting, about how long are you looking at getting 155 dollars irl money to in game currency
the cutlass i was given is giving me about 50 dollars towards the trade in but i dont want to regret losing the cutlass either lol
Spending ingame currency on a game is a far better option than using real life cash that could be spent on beer.
quite true i agree
ill get my feet wet first in game see how it goes
but i do love mining
prospector is 155 $
The cutlass for me allowed me to do courier missions or some combat missions but I have since traded it up for the Constellation Taurus.
ohh sounds like a nice ship i need to look it up
Hmmm, I have yet to find a use for it.
whats its role ?
I guess I could look at trading.
im a total noob here
I see a few telling me getting the prospector alone without another ship for transport is kind of meh
yeah i see your ship is a freighter cargo type sounds like it has a ton of capacity
It was intended to be a hauler for my prospector.
I did have a cutlass and a mole which is a terrible experience for a solo player
That's my current fleet. There's a few extra CIG loaners included, but not listed.
insurance length for when it matters
Is it hard to get enough coin in game to re apply insurance ?
Insurance isn't part of the game yet, so no one knows the answer to that question.
gotchya
well your certainly well invested when gaming time becomes available for you
im pretty much trying the game for the first time with an interest in mining
I'm not entirely happy with my fleet choice, but then I guess I never will be.
Ahhh. Fair enough. Just keep in mind, the stuff we have now may be far removed to what we will have months or years down the line.
yeah i was mostly going to continue in wait mode but i saw the youtube
of someone exploring a lush forst biome
Yeah that's how they get you.
does it matter where i start out on locations
Sounds like you just missed out on the free fly event too
Its ok just going to fly the cutlass see how this differs from elite dangerous lol
No, as you can travel to any other part of the solar system. It does of course take time, but the content is similar regardless, although the names may change. Not all equipment may be available in your immediate area either.
i can decide on the prospector in a few
for the love of your sanity check your controls in free flight using arena commander
Enjoy getting lost in the transit system 😄
I think ill enjoy having mineral formations blow up in my face more
You can fly my prospector if you want to.
I'll bring the constellation for comparision.
Last night I was test loading the ROC into the Cutter. Drove straight in and got out, left the ramp open. Went searching on Aberdeen for Gems as I had loaded there. Four minutes later the back of my ship turns all red from some sort of damage and promptly blew up. This was not an attack. Should I have closed the ramp? Need to run this ship after wipe it is cheap to operate. Thanks in advance any input.
Did your ramp clip the ground? Were your shields up?
No, I was airborne scanning. Not sure about the shields setting...
It could have been the roc bouncing around enough to damage the cutter. That kinda thing used to happen in my cutty
I think that's what happened. Next time I close the ramp.
Can you close the ramp?
Yes, I did it last time out. It's scary, the ROC is all jumping around making awful noises but it stayed in. Will experiment more soon.
The cargo grid for the Cutter isn't all the way across the ship's bay area, there is a walkway on the starboard side that doesn't hold cargo. That's probably why the ROC bounces because only half of it is on a grid. This is purely my speculation. You'd think the ship design team would've considered this in the production
MAX is still be the ROC escort going, imo. Worth getting when funds are there. Best 2.1M aUEC you can spend for multi-role ship (ROC escort, small trade, Quan hauling when you get a Prospector, etc)
Seems there is no getting in the PTU at this time, login is buggered
why can i not mine quantanium?
changing modules aint working
when pressing ALT + 1
etc
Is the issue that you can't mine or that you can't activate modules?
that i cant activate modules idk if it doesent work though as it didnt work a few day's ago
Not sure, it's not an issue I've had before
how do i do cargo?
My prospector only lets me add one module? Is this a glitch of am I missing something?
Modules have limited number of charges ( 5 ) before they vanish and need to be replaced
Depends on mass of the rock. Anything above 5.5k mass is practically not possible without modules. Below that it will take a while, several minutes
what laser head do you have on it? The default Abor has only one slot, you want the Lancet and can hold 3 items
I have the lancet on
Then you should be able to install three modules, though you'll only be able to use one active module at a time
is quant still invisbile as cargo
Yes
Watching a stream from someone trying the Vulture...seems that while the salvage stuff sells for about as much as refined quant per SCU, it takes a lot longer to collect than quant does
If you are looking for a group, you want the looking for group channel
If you are looking for resources to learn mining such as YouTube videos, this is the place to ask (or search, because someone has probably already asked)
Gotcha
I found a 7k mass, 43% quantanium rock, but I cant crack it on my own, can anybody help?
Got a question for someone that knows more than me- with the addition of persistent entity streaming coming- should this fix rocks not being scannable in the belt or lyria etc?
maybe im just being overly optimistic thinking it might
hey anyone got some spare cash. i really wanna test out prospector mining before wipe to see if its my thing.
I went back out got the Roc in, closed the ramp when I found some gems landed but the Roc was all nearly sideways in the Cutter all jumping around no way I was going near it. So does not seem viable. Nomad or Cutty for me after the wipe.
You can always rent a prospector if you wanna try it out
I dont have a prospector, but i have a mule if you want to tag along and try one of the turrets
To use the ROC with a cutter:
-
Never close the ramp, it will fly just fine with it openned.
-
Never go into quantum travel, the ramp closes automatically when quantum is on.
-
Mine near a facility that accept your gems at the selling terminal,
That way you don't need quantum travel.
Most mining facilities on the planets & moons accepts the 3 gems.
Iv been mining a few days with the cutter and ROC, never needed to rent anything else to carry it around
Hi all. Relatively new player here so if there is a better thread for my question then please let me know! I currently have my avenger titan (which I love) and am really trying to find out what activity or game loop I should be doing to gain the most amount of income. It can be bounties, trade routes/commodity exchanges, transportation; anything really. I just want to start earning better income so I can get to other game loops such as Prospector mining. Thanks in advance!
Bounties and bunkers are best in the titan.
Never mine close to selling points. It's the best way to get targeted by a pirate and so lose your work.
Get out of atmo make 100-200km away and go down to start mining. You'll be safe
Yeah that's true, then as far as you're willing to go. The Cutter has huge hydrogen fuel tanks anyway
How's salvage compared to mining? Trying to decide what to do when 3.18 hits
yup I'd like to know too since I got a vulture with hope it'll be a good gameplay xD
How tf do I get the missiosn that take me to hurston security post 1
I want them so I can get artimex armour lol
Thanks!! I will go back and try some more tests with the open ramp. This trouble was on Aberdeen.
how to trade
There are many routes you can put together independent of the ship's cargo hold size. I had a friend load up his Cutter with Gold but the profit was only $400 Aeuc. The bigger ship's require a large output of your cash up to half a million in some cases. So, what happens when pirates shoot you down? Anyway you can "sell" the trade items at both TDD's and at the mining stations. Look up Trade Tools internet site or others and go to the Group up channel and ask for trading help. If you have time during the day CST I can help you with a route. Good luck.
The most expensive is Agricium with a 3.8 "dollar" range of profit. Lesser items have a smaller spread of profit such as 1.1 dollar. The drugs can have high value but do not sell like the normal trade items. Agricium and others only sell in limited amounts so you buy the lesser items at the trading console to backfill and fill your cargo hold. Then go sell.
Highest value trade commodity is Laranite, although it is difficult to purchase in high amounts. @near void
Thanks Solar for the notation!
Here's the latest buy/sell chart for Laranite: https://uexcorp.space/commodities:LARA

hey guys, what ship should i aim to get early game for cargo?
Freelancer Max is a good multi purpose ship.
That’s the best you’re gonna get
Freelancer max is the smallest hauler that can make anywhere near a reasonable profit trading
You could potentially get a raft instead, but it’s only about 300k cheaper and isn’t nearly as versatile as the max
what about deliveries?
You can do those in any ship with physical space
okay, thanks! i think im confused about cargo vs deliveries
Ah maybe
does cargo require vehicles? or is it similar to deliveries?
Cargo trading just requires a ship
You go to a place, buy cargo from that place, haul it somewhere else, and then sell it
ohhhhh i see
The Cutter can do cargo. Not a lot like the freelancer max but enough to ger you started.
only to give you a taste of what cargo runs could do. 4 SCU is going to give you tops around 1.5K or so. Doing cargo runs with a Cutter definitely not worth it if your aim is to make money.
True. But I think of it for a starter
I want to asteroid mine for quantanium but i dont have a crew.Should i still go with the mole or should i use a prospector?
Use a prospector
Ok
Is there a way to upgrade the laser so it can have more power to destroy bigger asteroids?
lancet mining head
anyone know when the wipe is happening?
Supposedly the 20th of january
Sometime in January
30k-ish
if you run vice
anyone wanna prospector mine together
For the same price of a cutter you can get an avenger titan or a 300i that have more cargo and versatility. They're also faster and better armed.
Cutter is way overpriced
Er...what?
Cutter is $45 ($40 wb currently)
Titan is $55
300i is $60
Cutter is the same price as a Pisces
Yeah... Cutter is incredibly good value for the high standard of the ship and relative versatility it has.
Granted I still wouldn't recommend it for cargo, but it's still a solid starter.
ALL NEW SPACERS: If the Cutter can haul a ROC, which it seems it can, this alone ups the overall value of the Cutter. Hadanite mining is reasonable profitable at 275 per gem. So if you have the Cutter use your skills to save for a ROC as an in game purchase.
Given that it only sort of fits and is super janky, I'd hesitate to recommend the cutter for that
I meant in this range of price.
Adding 10 to get all that a titan can do is definitely worth it.
Imo I'd put cutter at the same value than Aurora and mustang.
Out of those 4scu cutter is a not a better ship than those two.
Cutter is a lot more capable than an Aurora or Mustang. Usable and complete interior, can carry vehicles.
In its price range (and not counting stuff that's 20% more expensive like you are), it's competing with the 100i and Pisces, and for many players the Cutter is a better choice than those
The big downside of the Cutter is that it isn't good at ship combat, so it's kind of the opposite of the Arrow "starter" in that way
it can't fight like a mustang (and even an aurora tbh).
Slower max speed than aurora (which is important for deliveries for example).
Carry vehicles? you mean a ptv and janky roc?
Both Mustang and Aurora are capable of doing bounties and deliveries better.
If you want it's a good trade starter but definitely not competing with 50 bucks or more ships
(and 100 series are also way overpriced because it's luxury starter btw)
Cutter can cleanly carry STV or Nox
Mustang doesn't have a bed
Aurora doesn't have a real interior
aurora have a bed and you can put boxes in there. quite a lot actually if you organise a little
what I meant is I don't see anything in cutter that justify the extra price next to Aurora and Mustang which both have their own qualities just like cutter
Sure...however it can't carry any cargo, nor can it carry vehicles. For bunker running, the ability to carry a vehicle in the back is useful so you can park outside turret range
For anything other than ship combat, the Cutter is objectively more capable than any of the other starters 100i or cheaper
Justify price compared to Aurora: Cargo and can carry vehicles
Justify price compared to Mustang: Has a bed, can carry vehicles
Mustang can’t carry vehicles either
Un-justify price compared to Mustang: less combat capable
Un-justify price compared to Aurora: Is slower and also less capable in combat (also it's uglier because drake)
Is the Pisces overpriced by your definition as well? What about the 100i?
how much is pisces already?
For 100i I already said it is overpriced but it's because it's luxury (origin yk)
Because if you compare the Cutter to the Pisces at the same price, the Cutter looks pretty darn good
Pisces is $45 just like the cutter
expedition or regular?
You literally cannot buy the regular one. Expedition.
you remove the vehicle (lol golf cars imo) to add firepower so it's not very different than an aurora out of the more accessible interior
...and you also lose the bed and the rest of the "living" interior
pisce doesn't have a bed?
No
lol so yeah definitely overpriced as well
So it sounds to me like you just think everything is overpriced
nope. your vehicle capability doesn't justify the extra cost since in the bargain you lose firepower and speed
In theory you increase price if it's giving you something more than the base price. For cutter I don't see what justify it
See but that's an opinion
not saying it's a bad ship. just it's imo on the same lvl than Mustang and Aurora who also have they pro and cons
It's literally not on the same level as the Mustang and Aurora, as we've already been over. Just because you don't value the advantages it offers does not mean that they don't exist
I do value the cutter advantages equally as Mustang and Aurora ones. You seems to see carrying a small vehicle and little cargo as more important than having firepower and speed which makes you think (and you can ofc. It's your opinion) that cutter is valued more than the other two
imo they've equals pros and cons and so I put them on the same line (my opinion ofc)
I mean the cutter isnt that bad in combat
You can easily do the october rising mission for 73k
And it isnt bad for bounties either (in my opinion)
theres no way cutter can fit the roc
if ur gonna spend 40 bucks u might as well get the titan that outclasses it in everything
for 15 extra bucks
Can confirm, Cutter fits a ROC no problemo.
Been mining last few days like that np
yes... clearly
source: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/yyzkjc/no_the_roc_doesnt_fit_in_the_cutter_but_it_can/
Titan doesn't have a bathroom, and titan can't carry an STV
Roc fit in cutter but is not really adapted for it.
Like when I put a merlin in MSR. It's not ideal but it kinda works
Also about titan it maybe can't take a golf car but it can take 8scu and is way faster and powerfull than cutter. Ideal for vice trading and bounties up to HRT (eventually VHRT)
(lmao bathroom? Really?)
Is the Argo Mole worth purchasing on the pledge store?
planned on upgrading from a hornet because i like the more mundane money making loops in game
and would mining solo with it be worth?
Josh, The Prospector is the better solo mining ship. I have a Mole but am still testing solo mining in it. A Mole with full crew is the big money maker. You can test my Mole solo if we can get a time set up.
Only problem is I dont have friends ;)
plus the mole has a larger SCU so i figured that you could be out in space for longer mining
The Quant mineral has a hard timer once you begin the extraction process. For friends go to the find players section.
ah alr then cheers
and one more question
would a prospector be a good upgrade from a hornet
seeing as though its a solo mining ship
Yes of course you could always melt it if you don't like mining.
I have a Prospector also.
If you pay cash for new ships you can upgrade the chassis to a new ship. Ccu
yea so ship upgrade yea
But a solid month of mining you could buy all sorts of stuff.
sounds pretty good
what do you reckon is the total payout youd get each trip?
provided you have a Full cargo bay
No set figure as during extraction other cheaper minerals can get mixed in the load.
range?
Planetside looks for Q rocks 25% or better.
I'll let others chime in on that. Trading is my main game play.
speaking of which
its either i go for the freelancer MAX or the prospector
any reccomendations?
The Prossy profits can buy you the Max then you can trade or mine at will. You can always team as a laser operator on the Mole and make a good share.
I know a mining junkie said he made 70 million in 30 days.
damn
so the prospector would be the way to go?
i was looking at some mining gameplay and saw you had to wait for refinery timers
is the whole loop mining for one day then selling it all the next?
20 hours on average.
damn
Then you need a transport ship.
transport ship???
so thats on average 2.3 mill per day
thats pretty good
It's top tier profits. The refined material has to be taken to a TDD terminal by you as the owner of the ship.
Unrefined you can sell directly
less profitable tho
was he using a mole with a team????
I suppose so.
hows mining on the prospector gone for you?
Not to well I don't like the timer thing on Quant. I'm a trader more relaxing.
fair enough
how much did you make on your first few runs?
Non Quant somewhere 20 to 40 k. I also ROC mine which is way cooler.
whats mining with the ROC like?
Very nice using the laser and scoping up $275.00 each Hadanite gems.
damn nice
what do you reckon is the biggest money maker mining wise?
Quant
alrighty then i might aswell take the prospector then
cheers for answering my questions
I can play in about 2 hours if interested.
sure why not
see if i cant upgrade my ship rn
What's you game name?
Ok mine either wildbill999 or FredMaximus at 11 am cst will invite you
alr
Im impartial to the mole solo. I have fun with that one lol makes me good change.
PTU is pretty rough, I've yet to do a successful mining run. VMA broke, I can't equip the Lancet (yet)
Larinite or Slam? whats the most bang for your time?
neither
Run astatine on MT to NB commons lol
c2 will bank about 100-150k per run
in less than 10minutes if you are a pro flyer. For the rest it'll be about 15-30mins per round trip
My cat days are long gone after the last wipe lol Im working from a cutty black now : /
Ya, I wish the cat was a bit faster to maneuver lol
Trading just isnt real profitable from a cutty lol.. i do what i can tho lol
Ya, I need to run to orison to check the c2 price again, I don't remember paying almost 5mil for it lol
I do remember it being the same price as the msr there
Hoping to Upgrade from prospector to MSR next time its available
It is, both are 4.9M
ok
anyone tried salvage on ptu and can give their feeling about it?

GA...
where can I sell my quant once i have it refined?
TDD at any of the major cities
Prospector for mining or Connie T for trading.. Which do you think will make more $/hr
it's in PTU... ofc there will be bugs and issues at start. Idk if you knew mining some years ago but it was way more hell (the whole game was hell tho) than actual salvage state
On other videos it seems to works fine and a full Vulture can be worth around 100k so it's a decent money maker atm
Also... who go mine without a suit like the guy did? xD
Definitely prospector for mining
Like Chris said, mining is your best bet to earn good coin. Trade only works with the largest ships (C2, CAT, etc)
They did increase the amount of material scooped by the salvage beams, it was pretty darn slow prior
Definitely not slam, laranite would be the best traditional commodity to trade
If you wanna drug run then buy etam/neon. Slam and widow well for more, but are bought in minuscule amounts at a time, so it’ll take you ages just to sell 10SCU. Neon and etam are bought in bigger quantities at a time, so if you stick to buying 10SCU of each, then you shouldn’t have a problem selling them
Thanks for the info guys
havent mined in forever, what was the refining method of choice for most, i forget
i went dinyx but i think i use to go ferron when rocks actually scanned
Dinyx is the longest time, but lowest cost and and highest yield
Ferron gives the same yield, but 2x the cost for 1/3rd the time
how do i activate brandtÉ
Anyone know where I can sell raw ore on crusader? Been walking around this place for a hour
Nowhere. Raw ore can only be sold at the refinery deck on refinery stations
What's the optimal ping angle for quant in Aaron halo?
Im wanting to upgrade my current Ship to the Taurus because I like cargo Hauling, but im not too sure whether there might be more ships made available to upgrade to in the pledge store, any suggestions?
you might have damaged it..
Freelancer max is worth a look, but I prefer taurus over that. To make legit money trading your looking a catapillar or c2 and running titanium or astatine. Msr is a cool quant runner, and Corsair / andromeda are good all around ships. Another thing to look into is trading neon and e Tam in small quantities. It is very profitable and can be done in a smaller ship like the cutty black. If you do I suggest only buying 10 scu of each.
Why only trade neon in small quantities?
because its only bought in small quantities
max you can sell is 20SCU at a time i believe
True, if youbget a good tick. If not you're hanging around for the next server tick to sell off the remaining.
yup
The profit margin is excellent on those two products and makes it worth while though.
indeed
running drugs eh
Question in the surge and stampede modules... Having extras in the ship inv means it will use those in the ship in right?
can't reload mining modules from the ship inventory unfortunately. has to be stored at a hangar and done through the Vehicle Loadout Manager
So it's a one shot thing?
you get 5 uses per module
yah they're needed on Lyria for sure
one thing that's annoying is if you have a module with 1 charge left, it's really hard to swap out to a fresh module. best to just just fire them all off before you return
they should add a "Discard Module" button or something similar
is there a spreadsheet or similar that indicates where all the different mining gadgets and modules are sold? I'm looking for waveform but its not at refinery at wide forest station.
scratch that, found it
FYI new CRAFTING

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/4/thread/ptu-feedback-salvage-hull-scraping/5631100
I wonder if Salvage and Crafting will get its own group
This is big.... I know its temporary...
These machines could make mining worth doing..
No more aiming for quant, when the 3d printer you have in your Carrack requires titanium, Gold, copper and quartz to make mining laser heads using the 4 day blueprint rights you rented.....
I took a big dose of hopium.... Excuse me
This would be awesome. I don't mind the idea of Quantainium getting dethroned
Currently mining in the PTU is only with default laser
VMA is hosed
Salvage seems to be the only thing we're able to do
!itemfinder
Use the website to search for any item (and where to buy them) in-game.
Salte Mike spoke a truth I now understand...
I want to be useful....
I want to supply my mates with items that I made, not just bought for them, using materials I bought from another.... Or mined myself.....
Hey I just started mining with a prospector any have any tips for newbie any spots or asteroid clusters I should go to
use lancet 1 mining head, grab some brandt modules, maybe a boremax gadget. head to lyria and mine away. wide forest station near arcorp has the refinery for the items you need
For mining in a prospector, can you put more than one in the module slots? Do they stack?
Ok thanks
Most mining lasers have multiple module slots; you can have two of the same module but you can only have one active module running at a time.
The useful exception is the Surge, where you can use two effectively since it's an instant effect.
I just came into this chat wondering if ppl had been talking about this
Vulture honestly has the vibe of mining pre-Q meta
what type of asteroids should i be looking at the aaron halo? p or q?
If you had to pick... C2 or Cat?
C2
Yeah C2
how familiar with the mining process are you? If starting out you will want to learn about active angle ping and also the methods of finding the ore. Also want to be sure you have the correct load out too
Tier Zero of salvage is pretty much mining on ships. The process is a little more labor intensive with having to move the SCU boxes, etc. But at this time the potential is there. They've increased the gathering rate so that it doesn't take so long to fill like it has been taking.
Pretty on with roc and hand mining..Just wanted to get myself familiarized with the prospy for post wipe.. lancet, surge, stanpede
@viral heath The most important thing will be knowing this if you are mining in the Halo. That is where I mine about 100% of the time:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz8TOCUa0Ms
This video covers a technique I call Active Ping Angle Tuning and how you can utilize the technique to improve your surveying skills. This is very useful when scouting the asteroid belt or if you are searching for Quantainium clusters on Lyria.
For an in depth guide to surveying in the belt, check out my previous video here: https://www.youtub...
I find it pretty easy, and the fact that the bigger ships' hulls actually give some nice scrap makes it symbiotic with bounty hunters
Nothing rumbling in your cargo hold about to explode 14 min after you start chilling
This is the scan first at 179 then scan 12km rocks with 2 deg?
is there any things to cargo haul on calliope
yep so which band for aaron halo mining? i mean conflicting messages being sent here.. band 5-7 or band 1-2. 9-10
I'm thinking of getting a C2 but in really struggling with the trading I can never get my cargo full with Laranite is there something I could get that would fill my scu and make profit? So far my trading going so poorly
There are trading consoles at the Rayari research outposts on Calliope I believe not sure what they sell but hopefully something
I guess the larinite runs from bezdek days are dead now huh...
Really looking forward to 3.18. Haven’t done the ptu but the things for trading sound so nice.
I can only get about 3 scu of laranite from Bezdek these days 😂
I've been buying the top tier limited quantity items then backfilling with Gold, Astatine and Chloride. Using a C2.
You can definitely get some trades going on the MT moons and a C2 whereby you can sell some on the moons. Here's the basic trades for Calliope and Clio. Both involve Meds , Chlorine and Astatine. On Clio buy Meds and Chlorine at Mc Grath then go to Cantwell same moon and sell both. For Calliope it starts at SMC A-6 and ends at Anvik. (If you want to grab the Astatine you can buy/sell also.)
It's actually kind of cool, and I thought I'd dislike dealing with the physicalized cargo. There's still some moments where you hold your breath as a box "settles" in a set location but beneath the jitters it's relatively functional.
Astatine with the C2 of microtech is very good
unfortunately the more I talk about it the less likely it is to find a full load for my C@
c2
With a C2 what kind of profits are you seeing on that run?
We can set something up after Christmas if you want. You man the turret we split profits. I'll finance it.
Any cargo type ship can make a profit.
Sounds like a deal to me.
That’s cool. I’m won’t be able to test it out on the ptu but I hope once it’s live to play around with it
what modules should i put on my prospector's lancet
but beneath the jitters it's relatively functional best SC review I've ever read
Brandt and Stampede
also depends on where your mining..
are you mining quant at Aarons halo or Lira?
Hah.... when it's jittery and not functional that's when you better start paddling away...
aarons halo
another question
how do i get rid of inert materials
and only take back quantanium
You don't, that's why you want to crack high percentage rocks so that you can scoop only 100% material
There is a module that will filter a little but of inert, but not worth it
gotcha
If you want big rocks head to Lira. Some 200k Rocks hang out around there
PIXEL MEASUREMENTS TO THE RESCUE. The ROC Can fit with an inch or so to spare height-wise.
Make note of the salvage icon, it's different than mining rocks. It also won't appear as a box first unlike mining rocks:
lf good profit cargo route. im not talking one commodity to one sell point
Doesn't exist yet
Merry Christmas to all
has roc mining been improved at all lately?
is it worth buying 2 rocs to put in my corsair
Yeaaa Merry Christmas for sure! Now bring on 3.18 and more fun.
In 3.18 there is a Move All button now. So you can move all the gems over from the ROC to the ship
It's pretty nice, but at the moment, inventory is a little challenged in the PTU. Once that's straightened out, it should be rock solid
By a little challenged he means unservicable XD
Not entirely true, I can usually manage to get food and water into my hands, but if you put on armor it's gg
why is storing unavailable?
ROC-Solid.
i wish the icon look different...it kind of looks like a rock in pieces...
but cool the icon is different at least
It also has no distance indicator (currently.) Just the icon.
yeah i imagine they'll eventually add that and change the icon...the not distance is annoying. i had one that was way further than i thought it would be
overall though I enjoy salvage gameplay loop
As much as I'd like it to become a "gear" icon, they might use that for repair in the future.
A Wrench icon for items that need repair while on a ship. But a gear icon for ships that need repair. Would be intuitive.
the only complaint i think i have about the vulture...is getting up and physically moving the boxes is strange. you dont have to do that in a prospector for mining. Why wouldn't the vulture have an automated belt system or something that stacks the boxes. Not a huge deal breaker but I do think 900 years in the future that the ship like this would have an automated feature for staking boxes and not require a person to do it.
yeah that would be much better
totally agree on the icons
An automated tractor beam grid on the ceiling that acts similar to a "Claw Machine" would be neat for the vulture. But I think it would be too much to ask of the game's engine currently.
Can these new cargo boxes be destroyed in any way? Will the Tractor Beam be allowed to be used in the armistice zones? Is the Tractor Beam the only way to move them? (I do not have the test universe loaded up...) Thanks!!
I don't see it happening until post-release at the earliest
The tractor beam used to be allowed in armistice zones, but it was disabled due to people killing each-other too much. It will come back in the future, they have to change how it works.
Okay thanks for the info...!!
like the box stacking in the reclaimer will be very tedious...i can understand the reclaimer now having it...kind of like a salvage cargo van
but the reclaimer should at least have an automated box staking feature or something
The reclaimer would have to have its salvage decks completely redone if they wanted to add that "Tractor Beam" Grid I suggested
IE: the second floor/observation area would be removed, and the filler station would be put down a level
remove all the catwalks, so the tractor beam grid would have full Line of Sight with the cargo grid
maybe they'll eventually do that because the reclaimer would 100% have an automated feature...or at least a "warehouse bot" or something to stack crates.
we have more automated stuff now....I just highly doubt things would be less automated so far into the future. I know the lore doesn't like AI...but they still have like dumb worker bots doing stuff like cargo...you can see the automated cargo bots in the hangars on planets
To eb fair, the aegis internals have to be redone anyway to be more uniform and have consistent styles between ships
The reclaimer feels too much like drake than it does aegis
yeah it does
If you weren't going back to move the boxes every few fills, it would just be to tesselate the flux capacitors or some other technobabble. I like that you have to get out of your seat the odd time as a solo ship pilot. Used to like it in the prospector when you'd find the really nice FPS nodes on rocks that were worth stopping for.
Broken record here, but Vulture gameplay feels a lot like pre-Quantanium meta mining did
How did people do violence with tractor beams?
Why would you buy 2?
I like the lack of automation.... It adds flavour to things... Not just mining in a different coat.
To be able to stay out for longer without needing to go back go repair the roc
Can just use up 2 rocs per trip
You're going to want to go back regularly to sell anyway
I see salvage as a nice change of pace to go do once in a while. I plan to stick with mining and just salvage occasionally
Hey so everyone always reccomend the Lancet mining laser but I ALWAYS find rocks that are too big to mine. (Even with the surge modules)
Is the Impact I laser any good? Looks like it has a LOT more power
The Issue isn't power but stability
So it would be a lot harder to control it with the Impact one?
If it was about power, then the Helix would return to rule and be the meta
Yes, Quantanium is all over the board when trying up mine
The idea that the weakest support laser beats out the most powerful Helix is a mystery of SC
I think all this will change, no, actually I'm certain it'll change again
I’ve just equipped the lancet
can anybody tell me the recommended percentation of quantanium that I should mine
Any rock over 25%
ok thanks
But rocks at 30+ are preferred
ok
If you're trying for a unicorn, then over 40%
wdym trying for a unicorn
There is nothing that is too large to mine with a Lancet with surge and stampede modules.
Depends on mass. 20% at 7k mass is great. 20% at 3k mass is not useful.
At 5k mass, 1% = 1 SCU. In a Prospector, you want to fill as much of your 32 SCU hold with quant as possible
thanks
Hello guys. Back again with my ultimate issue. I still can’t understand why my mining lasers work, manned turrets work, but my remote turrets won’t work. I can shoot as always, but they won’t move. Which means I can’t use my reclaimer. Tried all the keybinds. Gimbaled, G, Y, shift. Nothing works. When I move my mouse the cursor moves. I use to have this issue with mining lasers and manned turrets and I was able to get them working by messing with the keybinds. But the controls should be no different for the remote turrets. Even went back to default keybinds and still I have the same issue. So frustrating
How?? I’ve tried to mine a 6k rock and even with 100% power + surge module, the bar only goes down
Surge once. Wait for the power level to go down to where the second surge will take you exactly into the optimal range. Surge again. Then use stampede to finish it off.
Ohhhh imma try that thank you
These YTers be making 20 min long videos to explain it and you just explained it in 2 sentences 😂
chris is just good like that
Do mining outposts pay the same price for roc mining gems as stations do?
yup, the price is the same everywhere'
What is the better starter ship after the wipe: freelancer max or prospector? Going to upgrade from the nomad
I will be saving up for the Prospector first as I have cash bought trading ships but no Mole or Prossy. You need both as you will need to transport refined ores to the TDD to sell.
Could be a bad server. Also the extraction beam has a limited distance to pick up you may have to drive forwards. The ROC DS has a longer range pickup and holds more material so it's very useful for a 2 man team.
Any sign of things not working right get to the mining station to sell or start off loading one by one to your backpack or ship INV...
So for that 150 price point, the Max is the best bet?
what building am i looking for to sell my hadonite at a mining outpost?
A trade terminal (usually in the admin building)
Keep in mind you can rent a freelancer to transport goods for a mere 34k and it will be yours for a while - a prospector has to be bought so it can be outfitted properly.
i cant find a admin building where i am
but aparntly where i am buys them
about to just give upp all this work and go to bed this is frustrating
okay i found it it was in the storage building
Yeah it’s why I am thinking of getting the prospector as a starting point for each wipe.
Pure 32 SCU of Quantainium load in a Prospector
The Prospector is $155.00 us dollars I would start with that and rent the transport ships for now. Once you earn enough credits buy a transport ship like a C2. Or, at that point if mining is not your thing trade out the value of the Prossy for another ship.
hello, i just bought a taurus and a prospector, whats the best way to make some UEC with these ships?
Mine with prospector, refine at refinery station, haul refined stuff with taurus to sell
Note that there will be a wipe early in January so doing a ton of grinding for money doesn't make sense currently
oh dang, alright, thank you though :)
I just bought the same ships today. As Chris suggested take prospector, mine , refine, load all on the taurus and go sell. Of course you aren't tied to this game loop, if you are sick of mining you can pickup the taurus and trade, do bounties, bunker missions, deliveries... More or less you can do anything. But yeah, probably if you care about aUEC/hour is hard to beat quant mining. Don't push yourself too hard on grinding anyway, wipe will come during next month so don't burn yourself on mining just now... Use this time to get used in flying the ships and the mining process so you will be ready to make money when wipe will come.
Large dose of Christmas hopium based noodlage....
Persistent hangers are the gateway to crafting.....No need to buy actual 3d printers if the terminal is hooked straight into a space station. Do you need the rights to the blueprints? Yes. Rent them.
Can you load up the cargo grid with the raw materials to make that PTV or SMG.... We can now. Press go.... Wait for X amount of time, or expedite for more money....
Usage of these crafted items then becomes a thing. The PTV for example.... 1 use? Cheaper to just buy one for 5k? Yeah....
Oooh... Whilst I'm wish mongering... Pay more materials for a faster top speed? Makes one use much more viable
Sent to CIG... Expect next patch...... You're welcome
Addendum..... Why even wait for hangers? Open up factory locations.... A Bhering plant..... You can even have AI guided tours around the factory.... I'd pay to see that.... I'd also bring materials to have guns made in bulk. Ready for pyro
Now I'm disappointed that the Greycat plant tour isn't a thing.... I'd love so see the STV and PTV getting assembled...
Looking to get into the game wondering if anyone knows a mining ship I could start off with?
mining ships aren't really for start. the closest to a start as a miner is to get a roc vehicle with a nomad or cutlass to carry it (some say cutter can carry it but it's not really made for it)
Whats a good starter ship to get into industrial type stuff?
if you think about buying ingame you better rent a cutlass 40k/day and roc is iirc 7k/day
mining is the industrial branch atm
you can do trading with any ship that has a cargo space (cutter is the cargo starter) but you wont make much profit until you get the bigger ships
allrighty, thank you
How does commodities refresh works at selling points? Like, if there is zero of wanted product - can I just wait there? And how long do I need to wait? Tradein.space and and sc-trade.tools show different refresh rates for the same place.
Why sad face? Easy to break with a surge/stampede and nearly enough there for two full Prospectors
The best part is I'm not in a Prospector in this image
I'll give you a hint
Look at my name
Oh I see
Should be able to sell the location to a miner for something
Agreed, that's a good find. You could pull about 50K aUEC finders fee for that one
Needs to be an official thing......
I'd just scout planets to earn a bit of bank
Several big mining orgs pay people to be scouts for them already
350R is not a bad ship for that
Much of the time it's better to get cut in on the haul!
I have a bunch of Dolivine, but can’t figure out how to sell it. Can someone help?
Head to either a mining outpost or a space station. If you go to a mining outpost, you’re gonna look for a building that has a sign saying “storage above it. In there is a trade terminal where you can sell your gems. If you go to a station, you need to find the transit elevators (shouldn’t be too difficult, stations are pretty small), and take that elevator to the galleria. Once you’re there, you’re looking for an orange wall that says “admin office” on it. Go in there and there will be another trade terminal where you can sell your gems
DO YOU LOOSE YOUR SUB-ITEM COMPONENTS WHEN YOUR PROSPECTOR BLOWS UP?
yes and why are you yelling
How does selling salvage work like what is it worth
why can't my mole crew see the charge level on the rocks we're trying to mine? we're in a party and everything. what am I missing here? first time trying to mine with a crew, it's on my mole.
we're literally sitting here staring at three big ol' good sized, good quantity quant rocks and now we're stuck because no one has the damn charge level but me
and my own charge level disappeared randomly while trying to mine
this is absolute shit wtf
anyone wanna mine together?
I can juggle, with some extra spends, a ccu to a reclaimer... But it would be my only ship....
Me wanty, but is this just a bad idea?
Melt Vulture and Taurus... Upgrade to a Galaxy and "Find" galaxy Reclaimer ccu
well you'll just farm money with reclaimer. don't know if you're solo or not but it could be a pain. that big ship without a crew
It's doable solo.... Not ideal but it can work
I have a few buddies that could help...
Might be the Vulture is all I need... But got an idea worm about owning the big floating horror movie setting
imo reclaimer is a lot of wasted time solo but like people use mole solo and enjoy it I guess it's up to you
That's a valid point.... Though the distance between pilot seat and scraper beams is very short... So Reclaimer solo isn't too bad.....
Need it ditch the whole notion somehow... Use what I have
And them make mining more than just clicking up creds.
It was a big thing adding the multi tool creation....
Allowing players to create things opens up a load of new uses for materials most of us ignore. Like gold.... Who cares right? But it's an amazing conductor... Usable in many different electronic components that make up lasers.... And Dolvine... The lense used in Las repeaters....
i wonder how extensive crafting will end up being like all the way from the multitool =>->->shipbuilding
could really open up more professions liek miners going after the lower ores like copper and alum
Omg do I really have to study all those refining process methods?
Only way ship building can work is if you get 1 use ships, but with mjnior buffs
btw when im mining do i need to move the laser around and find a sweet spot?
Finding the sweet spot gives you the most available energy into the rock.
as long as it says optimal you should be fine
No, the only two that matter are Dinyx solventation and Ferron exchange
Ok, why?
Both have the highest possible yield. Dinyx is the slowest and least expensive, Ferron is 3x faster for 2x cost
Ok thanks
Anyone know if salvage is as profitable as quant mining?
Easier but less profitable
A lot less?
50-75% as much per time spent, based on current numbers on the PTU
Thanks boss
anyone wanna give me some tips on cargoing
So, is there any ship we know of that can currently be used as a mothership for the Vulture?
Since I dont think it fits into any ships "ship hangar"
Maybe Carrack Rover bay or 890 Cargo at best?
33m length sounds pretty huge
Like box missions?
I know there’s a website that helps with how to make a profit on trading
You can maneuver it into the 890 hangar, there have been a couple posts on the reddit from people doing it. Definitely can't fit in Carrack
Try this website sc-trade.tools
Be mindful of refresh time
I've tried top profitable routes - figures are right
is it worth doing vice trading with 135c and it's 6scu?
I mean how much average profit does it makes?
I'm afraid 315p 14scu is too much and it'll takes age to sell
Hello, who can help me to find the best route ? I have a Constellation Taurus and 400 000 aUEC. Thanks !
Ok the Mole is airborne!
Need more players on a Mole mission
Sorry for the delay getting organized and ship transfers
SC trade tools will show you the margin. I'd go with testing 5 SCU first. I think that's the buy up rate
I made a test with Titan and only been able to get 3scu of SLAM...
Good move, seen some who buy a whole Connie full and then can't sell it
sold it fast but just couldn't fill half a titan so not worth the journey
Is there a point in doing 5 scu trading?
I'd love to do these high value, high payout low quantity trades....
Have you tried sc-trade.tools/trade-routes ?
The Private Property site will sell me a full Nomad. Then I park it at cru l5 and use it like an ATM.
Is there a rentable ship that fits a roc and is cheaper than the cutlass?
Check into a Nomad or team up post wipe to earn money with the Roc.
hello i just got a mole but i'm not sure where to get a surge module for my laser
Slayer, look up Cornerstone website I think they list where to buy everything.
No, Cutlass is the cheapest rentable ship that carries a ROC
It depends in part on how much investment funds you have. Let us know that.
i have close to a mil
OK that's good for sure. Are you going to be around tomorrow morning?
the evening?
lets start a DM?
got it! sent a messgae
Gonna be stuck in port olisar for a while selling med supplies lol
Go lorville o hurston and use the TDD (trade and development division) there. Stations buy very low amounts of commodities at a time, but cities will buy much larger quantities at a time
why can't i buy the laranite
store ran out of supply
pretty typical since supply is across all servers
whats the biggest rock one can mine on lyria with surge and stampede?
thanks
Whats a Easy Mission for beginners, to get used to the gameplay etc?
With 2x surge and stampede you can mine anything
bunkers? or even box delivery
sometimes theres an investigate missions
thats easy too
not the cave one the "Looking for PI" one in the privat tab
So, depends on what kind of gameplay you want to do
you can also join somebodies mining run or when 3.18 hits live a salvage run on a reclaimer crew
Ok thanks I will take a Look at These 👍
np and be sure to check the #looking-for-session channel
some ppl specifically looking to play with newcomers and teach the ropes there
Great, Thanks a lot
Good day gentlemen! Been a while but nice to see everyone here again
I see @north oyster still going strong here hehe
Can someone give me a quick state of mining right now?
My thoughts: Aaron Belt working fine with the ping angle and working around the duds, Quant on Moons roughly the same but Mining Gadgets introduced ROC mining still viable see locales where most prevalent. But in 2 weeks or so bigger changes coming post major update. Salvage in the Reclaimer and Vulture, soft death of ships, better inventory transfers for the Gems for instance. Get ready.
Howdy Howdy ... Mining is still pretty solid in the current build 3.17.4 however there are tricks that are needed to know like Active Angle Ping etc to make the runs successful. Lancet is still meta, Quantainium is still king and the refinery is the path to wealth.
BUT with the complete wipe and the roll out of 3.18, things are up in the air on how that will all move over to the new patch.
I don't see 3.18 going LIVE before February, but that's just me
Laranite has been dead as a commodity for two years. Only it's ghost lives on. The supply & demand is now shared globally, so that destroyed the quantity available.
thanks a lot guys!
Favorite location to mine quantainium?
Aaron Halo
Like SirMattius said, I enjoy mining in the Halo. Quick turns to the refinery at CRU-L1. You run about 11.5M Km towards ARC-L3. No marauder problems
If you're gonna mine... It's got to be the Halo....
Just you and the vastness..... And rocks...
Is the Argo Mole good?
It's free
Good for what?.... It has no QT drive..... Unless you're transporting stuff from capital ships.....not really...
Why doesn’t the mole have qt?
The MOLE does have a QT drive
Probably yeah
Ok thanks
Sorry..... I saw a picture of the Argo Cargo and it stuck.....
The Mole is a multi crew mining ship
The ARGO Astronautics Multi-Purpose Utility Vehicles (MPUV, commonly known as Argo) are multipurpose utility vehicles designed for extreme environments but do not have a quantum drive. The vehicle is also commonly used by human companies like Shubin Interstellar and the military.
No QD
It's a pain solo,l
You said mole. Ignore me.
It's my fault... I'm sure is saw a picture of the Cargo...
I didn't even read the text....
I swear there was a pic and it dissappeared
I think there was
Anyways
Can I fit a hoverquad in the back of an avenger titan without hating myself or just figure out where I can get a bike somewhere.
Or is the grey cat worth it
You can fit a knox
The PTV is fun
Would be my choice if it had a gun rack
The Hoverquad.....that might be toit
I have 120k so nox is out. Looks like a hoverquad can fit if I spit on it. Plenty of examples on YouTube.
You can rent a Knox
It's the ceiling that's the problem... Hover vehicles tend to want to go up.
Or I just spend the rest of the afternoon gathering presents and get a nox.
Before you do, rent it and try it out... You might hate it.
Then you'll have more than enough for a Hoverquad
I prefer the Knox....

But we're all oddballs
Do turrets ignore any of them?
Nope
They will shoot you right up
Rule of thumb... If it touches the ground, you're sound as a pound
Bit of UK phrasiology coming out there.
If you're running missions, go for the PTV.
PTV? Unfortunately not
You're looking at an STV for cargo space..
That's a tight fit too...
If you're on this little journey.... And you can
.... Get a Nomad... Then you can buy a Cyclone which has cargo space and fits.... It's the cheapest ship IRL that can hold the ROC.
Mostly just fucking around until 3.18. And until a friend of mine eventually caves and gets a cutty starter.
Ah OK
Then just use a backpack.
Put a PTV in there... Or you could ask the server for some scratch..
Auec is pretty meaningless atm.
Players tend to give it to others to try ships out.
Greycat ptv will make bunker missions much easier. Trying to be self sufficient so I'm not helpless after the wipe. Also I like being a stupid newbie. Its fun.
Oh then you'll love the PTV
If they just added a gun rack on the back.... I'd not use anything else...
Also it's dirt cheap and it'll be easy to get the same setup quickly after the wipe.
It gauls me to have to drop a weapon
Gun rack would be nice. Yesterday I was hauling all of the guns out of a bunker and ended up carrying them 3 at a time running them out to my ship.
Load a bunch on the elevator, ride it up, run back and forth, repeat.
That works for cave missions... You might be able to put a couple in the passenger seat....
As in.... No turrets so you can unload loot faster
I accidentally put more and more money into this..... So I'm sitting on a Taurus... Which can hold an Ursa Rover and a ROC at the same time.....
Ooo like stack guns in the PTV unsecured
That's way better
Also not flying my avenger into caves would be cool too
No idea if it works....
It should
Irl, putting a gun in the passenger seat totally work...
Done it lots of times
For science... Report back....
I've also strapped way more than two guns to a backpack
UK... I've never even seen a gun....
US army for 10 years. I've seen a couple 😆
Now if they could do racks on the outside of the PTV that backpacks could mount to, the same way the army rigs UTVs. That would be amazing.
There is a spot right on the back.... A horizontal shotgun style fireplace rack would fit nicely there.
Just 1 space.... Nothing more....
I'm not greedy
Not at all man!!
Get CIG on the phone
..
Would be nice to have a little hanging room...
I used to put a PTV in the back of a Reliant Kore.
I likely will again, but the atmo flight got really janky
@cig guys. This is gold here. It's a layup for 3.19 and more ground fighting.
Oh... Also.....vehicle parachutes for low drops.
Nice to bridge the gap between ground and air... As it generally feels like 2 games we're playing
Yuuuup
While mining my ROC said "overheating SHutting down" now it wont turn back on is there a way to get it going again?
Nope..... Is kapput
What are some good cargo runs?
i got it running again had to wait for heat to drop below 205
Well colour me wrong...Nice work!
@maiden steppe did I catch you were in US Army?
If ut's the fragmenting laser, You can prevent this by mining 2-3 rock clusters then collecting instead of busting 9-12 then collecting. Laser will cool off between
@misty coyote success!
yup yup. got out a few years ago.
fits easy with plenty of space to walk around it. I thought it was gonna be tight.
Greycat PTV in an Avenger Titan.
And the PTV survived the ship bugging out and exploding on a moon. I drove it to my new ship when I went to get my body.
And it survived logging out and logging back in stored in the hanger.
is there a way to incrrease the sensitivity of th scroll wheel for when im trying to adjust the power to the laser feels like i need to scroll my wheeel a couple of turns before it registers and then it goes up 5-10 percent only if i scroll fast
Nice!! See that space just above the red light on the back?
Got gun rack all over it.
wow, PTV has gun rack?? good to know
It doesn't. But it needs one.
It doesn't
Hey, Havent played in a minute, anyone have a good ship suggestion for a 2 person ship capable of doing cargo?
Jinx
Taurus
If it's any consolation, I put a box in the passenger seat and drove it 250m from my dead ship to my new ship.
thanks
so, we can put guns and stuff in the passenger seat of PTV?
Oh yeah! We were going to test guns placed on passenger seat
anything cheaper... just starting out again
Yea using "place" on a thing and putting the thing in the passenger seat "worked". Def not intended and I wouldn't trust it but should work fine for hauling loot. When my ship blew up it dropped a crate so I'm planning on putting the crate in the passenger seat and filling it up with stuff to haul loot. Plus my armor and backpack I should be able to move a decent amount per trip. And not have to worry about turrets.
The real question is how many guns will stay in the passenger seat until they explode in a big floppy physics disaster.
Not that I know of... I ended up getting dual joysticks and use the attached throttle lever of the left stick to control mining laser now. SUPER sensitive adjustments there. Mouse wheel always seems to lag the first 1-2 scroll clicks
Logging on, seeing how fast I can do a Prospector quant run tonight. Starting now
From log on to refinery finish
And if course I water time pulling the wrong ship
Try this again. Starting now
Found 9- cluster
Might be something in your mouse settings if you have a configurable gaming mouse.
...which refining method did you use?
Ferron, I generally log on every 13 hrs
ah, I thought you meant 35minutes refining time
Sorry, 35 mins from login to mining to refining job start... 396k per hour
Next time is the cutty/roc hadanite and will see
isnt that the stv?
gonna be less auec per hour.. think the best roc miners make average 200k/hr
Freelancer then... You can go rent one too..
i would say nomad over the base lancer
if roc mining
The STV is a bit bigger... The PTV is in the back of the titan
Just cleared 200k with a drug Max route.
The OP wanted multicrew cargo....
I love the Nomad, but for cargo..... Less so
The MAX though..... This
... All. Of this...
Hate that's true
I'm seeing emerging drug runs though. Etam sold in small batches
Must be a loop for 10 SCU or less, expensive cargo.... Prime for pirating and great for starters.
I hit on a process during one run two stops bought $453,911.00 Etam with a single gross sale of $553,265.00. The days of low sales on Etam are over.
The UTV or Utility Terrain Vehicle is an upcoming utility vehicle manufactured by Greycat Industrial. It is designed to transport personnel along with some equipment.
If you aren't listening to sea shanties while hauling long distance cargo with the crew. What are you doing with your star citizen life. Get up with the times.
what long distances? intra system trading is not long by any means lol
i get teh same profit from a full ti run on a c2
Ok I just tried on some shanties after seeing your message, epic feeling ngl
Me wanty!
Boo!
So on my Christmas list....
I want a commodity that costs about 2 or 3k to purchase per SCU. Sold at certain locations for 4 to 5k. Limited quantity.....
I'm sure I saw Construction Materials on a trade site that did this....
Titanium is not a drug!
heh
Unless you have robot blood.
drugs for your ship hull lol
whats the best trade route atm?
Stop at all Agricium sell spots, store ship, take a break then do the same thing in reverse. See what happens, report back on profits.
One of the first unique suggestions I've seen in a while, neat
can someone reccomend me a simple trading tutorial?
Problem, no matter how much power I put into any rock, the charge level NEVER increases above a pixel
with high sparks or none
wtf am I doing wrong
or is sc just being an ass agian
get closer
I do all first-round busting between 2.0 and 1.6m
100% power with a little up/down motion with spacebar/L ctrl until green, then throttle between 85-95 to bust... BACKUP away from rock just before busting
It may be too large of a rock, what's the mass @open knot
Are you using a lancet mining head?
it was a rented prospector
Do we know when we can expect module replacement/repair in ships? I blew my power supply on my prospector and basically became stranded. Or is this already ingame?
Rented prospector cannot put Lancet lazer, so it's not really good for actually mining those 5k mass
How did you blow your power supply?
well
Some rock exploded in front of me
and the ship turned off
and i fell like 2 meters
and it didn't turn on again
So i assumed it was the PSU
Are you on PU or PTU?
PU
They have not provided any timeline for when that kind of thing will be introduced

You can make money with the rental Prospector BUT you can not mine Quantainium. The Rental is great to learn the process. There is a video by Ryan of SuperMacBrothers who goes over making a profit with the Rental Prospector that would be worth watching.
buy low sell high
think you can go for laranite mining but the profit pales in comparison to quant though
with handheld gadgets i think macbros showed you can mine quant
I would advise the Prospector and a C2. Both will do you well. I can show you a trade run at some point.
Where do I buy em
Lorville/New Deal on Hurston and Orison for a C2. But let me clarify if any other spots please.
Just see if the ships are sold at a 2nd city or not.
Area 18 at the Astro Armada store for the C2. Start at Hurston then go to Area 18 on Arc Corp...
What beside the C2 would u recommend
Some people like the Raft for cargo... Checking on the Carrick also one sec...The Carrack is 26 million...at Area 18...The Raft is 1.8 million at New Deal but does not hold as much as the C2.
Damn
Drake Caterpillar or Hercules C2 are the 2 popular cargo options. both around $5M. C2 is currently the better pick
Anything abit smaller
Freelancer MAX is an option.
Constellation Taurus or Freelancer Max for smaller cargo haulers but they're only really good for moving mined Quantainium. won't make much hauling cargo
MSR is pretty good for moving quant too
And the prospecter is the best mining ship
Prospector & Mole are the only mining ships. Prospector is better for solo use
wonder if they'll introduce field repairing at some point , would be nice to be able to fix that vehicle or ship ,i geuss they kinda have with salv being able to repair hulls
I'm trying to find some decent cargo runs for my Caterpillar - can you still buy Medical Supplies on Olisar? I just see Scrap and Waste on the commodities purchase screen
It think it will be somewhere on one of the moons in mico tech.
the trade route planner I'm using must be out of date then, does anyone have a reliable website to use
I do not have time right now
Anyone running Refueling
Kinda stranded and need refueled
Plus could use a refueler on standby
CIG does not offer live or updated data on trade, so all the websites can only offer default prices
Correct, the ROC can only mine gems, not ore
3.18 has salvage and ship repair
Anyone out there running routes from jumptown need an extra wing? Bucc and arrow for fighters. Let me know
Oh maybe the wrong place to ask this. My bad
whats the best route for aaron halo mining? arc l1 to cru l5 or arc l1 to hurston?
The the ROC have any mods.
no
so a 22% rock with a mass of 4.7k means how many potential scu?
Should I get prospector or mole to solo mine
How much can prosp hold
32
so you want a total mass of 32x50
1600 mass of mineable quant
so 35% of a 5k rock
Is roc only ground mining vehicle?
ROC-DS as well
With no loss, at 5k mass 1% = 1 SCU, so 32% at 5k theoretically fills the hold
yes
No, also ROC-DS
i thought he meant is roc only a ground mining vehicle
Realistically you're not going to get a perfect break anyway so you'd probably need closer to 40% at 5k to get a 32 SCU haul
Ah yes, is the question "is roc [the] only ground mining vehicle" or "is roc only [a] ground mining vehicle"
With lancet yes, anything in halo can be done without mods
ok might have to go the passive route for the halo
surge mining is too exciting for me lol
roc and roc ds.. actually no point getting the roc ds since you ahve to split the same money with another guy
Roc is at new deal right
Imma start there since I’m new to game still just been doing cargo and drugs and got some money
But want learn mining
No lol
i would get a cs go to jail and try hand mining first to get used to the mechanics
wont recommend caves since its easy to get lost if you doing a bounty cave.. but if investigation should be relatively ok
Nah, you can just switch seats to the mining laser after moving it
true but there isnt any value addedness to the roc ds compared the roc
besides a little more durability
I spawn my roc at the small stations on moon? Or at lorville
ROC-DS has more storage space, and the laser has longer range and more power (cracks stuff faster)
where to for a beginner miner?
i gots a tiny pistol with both miner and cutter
i would suggest taking an investigation cave mission and do hand mining first
Besides hand mining, if funds are ok, you can rent a ROC and a cutlass black (also buy Pembroke armor) to test that mining loop
How do I find my ROC? At a ASOP terminal, info says "Unknown". The "track" button doesn't seem to do anything. I think I should have cargo in it
Is ROC still in your ship's cargo?
