#Separating track stats (.ts) from track info (.ti)

I built a small bot very quickly a few weeks ago that takes basic track info from Tunebat and displays them as a sentence, then I just discovered fmbot has a similar command called .trackinfo (which .ts and .ti also trigger).

However, I find it a bit clunky how much info it shows, so I'd be super on board if there was a way for those commands to be separate: maybe .trackstats and .ts could show only the track stats, while .trackinfo and .ti could show only the basic info of the song itself and not anything stats-related.

See my screenshot for more insight. Thanks for considering my suggestion!

as an example, here's what my bot did.

going with my suggestion, it would be awesome to have dedicated .bpm and .key commands as well

Not really in favor of splitting up commands like that. Command discoverability is always an issue. Most people can barely remember a few commands at a time

#

Visually the command could probably be tweaked a little bit

yeah that would be great, my main issue with it personally is that I think it displays too much info at a time, though i don't think splitting commands is really a problem when there's too much info in the reply. I guess that's subjective though but I feel like 95%+ of people don't use it to show the right-sided info, and personally I don't use it for the left-sided info ever

I wouldn't mind having an info command like in your last example

#

But I think having one track info command with all stats together with that is the best option

Hey @warm hornet, just wanted to ask if you have any update on if that will happen or not? Thanks 🙏

It will happen! Somewhere in the coming days
