With the system we have right now, it's only possible to chart artists by genre but that would still be very useful and cool

you may be misunderstanding the suggestion. Koeno and everyone else is asking for the ability to generate album and musician charts that limit the items shown to musicians or albums in a genre. right now charts can only be limited by a couple technical parameters like whether there is an image for an album.

if you're referring to the ability to generate embed lists, not charts, of albums or songs sorted by genre, we're not presently able to do that because genre information is associated with musicians only, not songs or albums.

That's what I mean, i don't think .fmbot has access to album genres, just broad artist ones so we would only be able to chart artists by a specific genre.
