So, I'm wondering why Crimea shows as russian territory when in fact, it was occupied by russia in 2014.
Crimea's status is disputed. In 2014, Crimea saw intense demonstrations against the removal of the Russia-leaning Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych; during the Revolution of Dignity. Protests culminated in pro-Russian forces occupying strategic points in Crimea and the Republic of Crimea declared independence from Ukraine following a disputed referendum supporting reunification. Russia then formally annexed Crimea, although most countries recognize Crimea as part of Ukraine. Source: Wikipedia

its from the wikipedia map, thats what we use
i think its this one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blank_maps#/media/File:BlankMap-World.svg
Here are some blank maps for color and label in different languages.
IMPORTANT: Only .svg (vector) and .png (raster) images are to be used for unanimated maps.
I think it shows Crimea as its own country and not as Ukrainian or Russian territory
Google Maps, last time I checked, listed Crimea as no country at all iirc
But I agree that it should show as part of Ukraine and it is also recognized internationally as such, so I'll see if I can adjust the map for that
Nope, here is country chart from user that listened to music from Russia and Crimea is shows as part of Russia
It could be that around the time that the country chart was built the Wikipedia map did see crimea as part of Russia. Regardless of that, I'll fix it soon
