I also want to earn trophies to move up to the next league. The fights offered, whether difficult or not, only earn me a maximum of 6 trophies. However, if I lose a fight, I lose between 24 and 27 trophies.
It's been very tedious and expensive in arena energy to move up the league these past few months. At the beginning of the year, I didn't have this problem.
I was hoping this issue would be resolved after the arena maintenance week.

This has been going on for a long time. But since the Arena revamp, it is now a lot worse. I want trophies to advance to the higher league. But when I am offered three battles to choose from, a higher number of points doesn't get me a higher number of trophies. The difference is dramatic in the new Arena system. In this offer, 17 trophies are offered along with 810 points, but only 2 trophies are offered for either 820 or 888 points, with the 888 point option being the most difficult battle offered. This seems out of whack to me. I took the 17 trophies battle because I really want to advance to the higher league. But I really hate being forced to give up leaderboard points in the process.

Even before the update I was getting some with a decent number of trophies. But frequently in inverse number of points. But yeah, I was also geting a lot with just 2 or 3 trophies, in which case I would pick based upon points.

I've only been earning 2 or 3 trophy points since July... It's just tiring to progress because of this.
I thought the arena being closed for a week would fix this, but it doesn't!
As a result, I'm stuck in the Metal League, because even after fighting hundreds of battles, I'm earning practically nothing, and a single loss wipes out the gains from 8 or 9 battles won, which is just ridiculous.

I'm not sure that whether this is a bug or intentional as I've been experiencing the decreased amount of trophies for several months. Like many others, I was hoping this would be changed with the update. It simply doesn't make sense to offer new higher leagues without offering the opportunity to reach those leagues. Prior to this bug/implementation I consistently progressed to the Ancient league and would like to have the opportunity to reach that league again, especially since there is the new Regulon dragon offered there. Please fix this if it is a bug.

Winning a battle only nets me two or three trophies. Losing a battle takes away 24 or 27 trophies. It's almost impossible to progress in Dragon League.

Over the past (about) 24 hours I have maintained my position as 3rd or 4th in the Arena weekly event. I have received a lot of energy from playing Dragon Grid and Treasure Hunt. I have added 11,341 to my score. I have added only 43 trophies because, as stated above, most of the battles only offer 2 or 3 trophies. I need 1,087 trophies to progress to the next league (I am in Primal now; going to Divine). That will take about 25 days at this rate, and the season will be over, with me never getting out of the Primal league. I am one of the top players in the Arena and I can't get out of the Primal league with normal play (i.e., not paying a ton of gems to get more energy for more battles). This is insane.

After complaining about not being awarded the Dragon Fang badge (see that thread) I discovered that the season leaderboard is based upon the NUMBER OF TROPHIES awarded. So, the fact the game is failing to allow me to compete for trophies is the reason I'm not higher on the trophies leaderboard. There needs to be some better way of allocating battles so that good players can win more trophies and compete without needing to spend a huge amount of gems to make it up to higher leagues.

same for me...I am getting so many low trophy battles that is going to take forever to move out of Primal League.
I started this week with 25 saved Arena energies and have bought them from the Stardust shop as well as getting the free ones from the DMP, Treasure Hunt and Grid.

This is ludicrous. I finally get a HARD battle offered, and it is STILL TWO TROPHIES!!!
I checked the season leaderboard. I need about 700 trophies to get close to the top 20. At 2 trophies per energy, that would require 350 energy at 25 gems per energy. And even if I did that, I would STILL be in the Primal league. There are a few top players in the Tyrant league. But only a few. I wonder what they paid to get there.....

The difficulty of the fight depends solely on the damage power of the opposing dragons relative to our own.
The number of trophies earned per fight depends solely on the number of trophies the opponent has relative to our own trophy score. If the opposing player has a higher trophy score, we will win more trophies and lose fewer than the other way around.
The problem is that we only encounter players with fewer trophies.

Well, for now, I'm still stronger than most of my opponents, but I'm encountering +7, +8 and +9 trophys opponents now, whereas before I never got above +3, so that's quite encouraging for the future.
