#Uni Math Sucks

nah, they'd still weed people out who just willy-nilly took it, but they really should teach it better
well that's a good point. It does make it harder when math is a compulsory class despite being rather irrelevant later in the degree
but bottom line, teachers can and should do better, especially in uni where the costs are so much higher than hs
yeah.
I failed the easier math for IT II subject myself, because it still was too much of a mess and didn't really have anyone to ask shit.
the normal mandatory math classes were hell apparently. like the final exam was 90 points total. they moved the bell curve so anyone with 4 points had a passing grade
or was it 12
either way
it was low
although, I'm pretty sure the pay is nowhere near enough to incentivize better teaching, but that's an entirely different discussion altogether lol
damn that's crazy wtf
"oh if you work hard enough you'll be able to easily pass" - every uni math/law teacher
yep
and then the test is like
gterfsdhigosdergerdghb3e490g834ogh8u34wbj3gnvwe409tvnw4iotbjs4s9tv8jawu<
A) 2.2
B) 2.202
C) 2.2202
D) 2.0222
and you get like 39 as the result if you even manage to decipher it
sounds about right, and to solve it you'd need to know like one specific formula they mentioned once during the entire semester and never touched on it again
yeah. teachers don't teach really
You do occasionally find a rare gem of a teacher that is not only passionate about the subject but makes sure the students actually learn
but lets be real, you'd have a better chance getting a 5star early pity than that happening
part of the issue is class sizes and curriculum density, but profs aren#t good teachers
yeah, they aren't technically qualified to teach but have been hired because they specialise in that field/doing research or something
