As a Ningguang main I can tell you that she's really fun but she can be very resource intensive to build

It's all good

But yeah she's very very demanding in terms of stats if you want her to reach the performance level of 5 star characters

My Ningguang is C6 triple crowned and while she does clear all content in the game with her build she still cannot match the dps of like Eula or Hu Tao and whatnot

The issue stems directly from the fact that current main dps units (except for Itto) all have elemental reactions that multiply their damage. Eula has superconduct to shred physical resistance, Hu Tao has melt and vaporize which literally double damage, Ganyu also has melt for damage increase (and also crit built into her kit for ease in building her)

Geo as an element is simply very demanding as all their damage is just straight up raw damage, so you need big investment if you want big returns

The decision to build any of them, in this case Ningguang, is entirely up to how dedicated you are to it because she is a super super strong character but you need to put a lot into her to reach her max potential

if that were consistent she'd be a ton better

it doesnt matter if a diff character can 1.5x their damage if you just deal 1.5x as a baseline

You almost always run her with zhongli; her jade screen can just not be placed sometimes because it interferes with his pillar.
In the case that it's not broken, using her ultimate, which breaks the screen for more jades, can sometimes be entirely blocked by that pillar. Additionally, in the instance of a jade screen breaking, you get 12 jades; roughly only 8 of them will make contact because they'll hit the ground and break
Same issue with her C6: you get 7 star jades from her burst, maybe 5 of them hit. 2 or 3 will almost always end up hitting the floor

These result in a direct dps loss but her damage is still super high regardless so unless you're like literally three star jades worth of damage away from killing you're not gonna suffer too much

Oh also with Ningguang she's very strict with her weapon options, if you don't have a 5 star basically your only option is the Widsith unless you played last summer and got Dodoco Tales

In terms of 5 star weapons her options go:
Skyward Atlas > Memory of Dust > Lost Prayers

Atlas and Dust are stronger BUT the crit rate loss makes building her even more challenging. Regardless, very few people can pick and choose 5 stars so if you have any of them just use it (except for Kokomi donut that is NOT good for her lmao)

Yae Miko's upcoming crit dmg catalyst will also be really good on her. It'll be better than Lost Prayers due to its passive but Atlas and Dust will still outperform it

@forest crown with 2 WM, you can basically get ~100 pulls over the next two months if yiu can 36 star abyss and do all events
