The most logical next step would be to reduce resin time from 8 minutes to 6, giving us 240 resin per day instead of 180, but I guess they resort to this only when people start leaving the game in huge amounts, which doesn't seem to happen in near future.
In short, we're cause of our own misery, because the more popular the game is, the more miserable will be the reward system.
