What happened was that MHY went after leakers not on the basis that they hacked MHY servers or anything. They aimed at the fact that all GI materials are essentially MHY's property. And that they get to choose what people say about their property.

How they got these materials can be legit and non-legit means. Legit being data mining for example. They look at the code for the stuff installed on your device (or PC). Or they have connections with internal staff who leak the info.
