Before I forget. There are 2 parts to investigations:

1. You get a cap of 100 per day. This resets when server resets. But the interesting thing is that if you investigate once, it opens that area to neglect the cap. This means if that area has A, you can cap then come back and open B and C for e.g. This is how people go past the cap. Though take note that investigating in the area before the cap adds towards the count.

2. Investigation spots reset 24 hours from picking them. This conflicts a lot with the server reset cap. This is also the reason why you will likely be "pushed" out into the new day because you will never be able to investigate perfectly at 24 hours.

If you don't have time, discard outcrops mining for artifacts run. Artifacts run give mora / artifacts XP hence it is more valuable. Plus there is a cap on how many spots you can investigate.

On the other hand, you can compensate missing daily mining by doing a full mining once every week (I don't think you will have the capacity to do every 3 days). This should give you sufficient ores to last for the week.
