there's definitely timers, and it's confusing and awful. The difficulty is entirely due to the idiotic randomization and not actual challenge. The idea is interesting on paper, but so far the implementation is awful. We'll see if they bother to improve upon it.

I suppose the only really nice bit about it, is that it isn't the abyss and you only have to deal with it once a month.
