There are some people that seem obsessed with CV only, but settling for pieces with one or two dead stats is fine because, as Jayci said, it's harder to go for pieces with absolutely no dead stats over getting a piece with good rolls but some flat stats or other useless ones

Well, for certain character builds there are sub- and main-stats that are outright unneeded and thus ignored.

For instance, a few examples:

1. On Hyperbloom Kuki or Sucrose, you ignore everything apart from Elemental Mastery and maybe some ER

2. On Yelan, focus on HP and/or ER while hitting the minimum stat threshold of 60/120

3. On Albedo, you can use a DEF % circlet as long as you're hitting other stat minimums

no, part of a reason double hydro is good is because the members that make it are rlly good themselves

if u don't have yelan, using someone like candace or something isn't beneficial

Xiangling is a veery good char but kinda depends on Bennett which you don't have, but you'll eventually get him (I recommend getting him from the Paimon store when he comes back if you haven't gotten him to C1 by that time). She'll be tough to use rn but is worth the investment. Otherwise I'm thinking an hyperbloom team, which something like Barbara, DMC, maybe Beidou and maybe Lisa? should do just fine for now

Maybe even Dori instead of Lisa to keep Baraba on field for the hydro application but Dori is a very meh char

Sucrose is also a good char that will be useful later on, but rn I don't think you can get much out of her
