Okay, hear me out: raid domains that reward enemy drops and some artifacts
Principle: weekly raid in a domain that takes 10-15 minutes to complete and is started by talking to local reputation officer, so Liyue would have Thieves Den and Fatui Factory, Inazuma would have Nobushi Dojo etc
The domain itself is a series of encounters with random modifiers and dangers in every combat room
The boss is named stronger version
Rewards are large amount of respective drops (raven symbol, handguards, etc) + small amount of artifacts

1. They don't want to speed up the farming progress. If anything, they want to slow it down so people log on every day.
2. They barely mess around with combat content in fear of disenfranchising their casual playerbase who are a much larger portion of the active users.
3. I'd rather them spend their efforts on increasing QoL options like artifact loadouts, resin storage, etc.

one thing I really would like to see is this: to access the boss arena you need to collect at least 1 seal, dropped by clearing non-mandatory rooms
each seal empowers the boss and you can use as many as you can collect in a domain to really buff up the boss but they also increase the rewards (so for example a Boss has +50% HP seal would grant +10% rewards or smth) so you can really tweak it with how hardcore you want the thing to be
And finally: allow the people to absolutely fuck up their run by making the boss nigh unkillable if they want (maybe a combo of Boss will release a one-shot attack after 120s, Boss regenerates HP, Boss has +250% DEF, you can't gain energy seals or something)

You are speeding up the farming because you would giving out a lump sum of artifacts and materials. Wandering Teyvat looking for enemies to kill for their drops takes time and fodder artifacts take resin. Speed running a domain to get both of those things is less time you have to play the game.

They do not want that. They want the gearing and leveling process to take as long as possible because it keeps people logging back in.

That's why artifacts are awful to farm. It's all about player retention.

We get the Abyss and combat events every once and awhile. That's it.

Hell, the only reason we got the Abyss to begin with is because they had no idea what the demographics of the game were going to be long-term when the game first launched. If they had known that it was going to be primarily casuals, they would have never included it to begin with.
