#Make Discord timestamps a requirement in auction formatting

Because there are people who want to bid from all over the world, it would be a hassle if they had to keep converting time zones of the auctioneer to their time, especially if they are participating in multiple auctions at the same time

An example of this would be someone from GMT figuring out what time “XX:XX UTC-4” and “XX:XX EST” would be for them from two different auctions

It would be better if all auctioneers would use the Discord timestamps so that way it will automatically convert the end time to the bidder’s time zone. This will come with an additional step of just converting the time at a website

An exception to this are the ones that have end times of multiples of 24 (24,48,72 hours after auction posting)

if we're forcing auctioneers to use tags

#

then

#

maybe we already tend to put burden on auctioneers for minor benefit of bidders

#

i would expand the exception to integer values of hours

And sometimes daylight savings change the auctioneer's timezone

🟡 AR.3 - Auction Duration

  • Auction end times must range from 1 hour to 7 days after the auction starts
  • Auctions cannot be extended by phrases such as “X hours after X bid.”
  • Auction end times must be represented in one of two ways:

X hours (where X is an integer)
Discord timestamp (use a website such as https://sesh.fyi/timestamp/)

- No early endings or extensions are allowed unless granted by moderator approval!
