#Nuke Run job - PLEASE READ ENTIRELY BEFORE COMMENTING

DISCLAIMER: Before thinking it's a bad idea because only mods can spawn nukes, please read through all of this. Thanks great

The nuke run would be a very rare job that only spawns rarely, like delivery jobs but rarer, and it would last, if possible, longer than just 10 minutes.
Even tho the event lasts more than 10 minutes, every player should be able to do it only once per event spawn.

This is how it would work:

  • The job event spawns in the server, and everyone is excited because it happens very rarely and it almost never happens in two different servers at the same time;
  • It tells to go to a certain airport (Air Base, like Lynwood JAFB, Horomoto, etc.) and to takeoff with a nuclear-capable vehicle, such as the B-2, Tu-95, B-52 or even planes that don't carry nukes IRL but that have it ingame (like the F-35A in the adv. customization). This could be a great chance to use airplanes such as the T-75 and YF-23 as well;
  • The job requires the aircraft to go to the drop site, which - unlike PTS - has to be a relatively plain area, at most a slightly hilly one;
  • While doing so, the aircraft must stay BELOW a fixed altitude of 150-200 meters max (500-650 ft), in order to avoid being seen from enemy radars or enemies's Anti Air systems. The job automatically fails if the aircraft stays above the height limit for more than 5 seconds or smth like that;
  • The max height could be slightly higher if the aircraft is stealth, but I'm not sure about this, so this goes to the devs' discretion;
  • Once you reach the drop site (there will be a mark on the ground just like PTS) you will have your chance at dropping the only nuke you have. No second chances, every vehicle you do this job with only has 1 payload;
  • The drop site isn't as little as the PTS one, it's a bit larger, because a nuke does a damage much different to the one of a conventional weapon. 100 feet make a difference with a normal bomb, but not with a nuke;

(Continues in the thread below)

#
  • The Aircraft must be going at least 75% of its max speed when deploying the bomb, as to not have people stay at stall speed the whole time;

  • The nuke can be therefore dropped slightly off, and the hit will be registered equally;

  • A crucial point is that, after all of that, the reward is not proportionate to how close the payload was dropped to the drop zone. Either you drop inside the allowed area, or you don't get ANY rewards;

  • As to the actual effet the nuke has in the game, I know proper nukes are limited to staff, in fact it'll be different from that. I was thinking that the screen of the individual player that dropped the nuke would flash completely white after a few seconds from the payload deployment, and a very weak sort of high pitch sound would play in the background while the white screen slowly dissolves. It would be similar to how a flashbang would look like, or to better say it, how flashbangs are often illustrated to work in video games. I never personally experienced a flashbang IRL but you get the point (I'll leave an audio file of what i mean buy that weak high pitch sound);

  • So no, no server-wide visual effect of an actual nuke, just a client-side flashbang effect;

  • After the white screen dissolves, and only after that, the player would see a pop-up that either tell him they won an insane reward (they hit successfully) or that they missed, and they therefore get nothing;

  • I was thinking that these rewards, that you either get or don't get, at this point have to be very very high, because you need to be very precise while both getting to the drop zone without going too high AND drop your ONLY nuke on the circled area on the ground, while going very fast, in a once every 3 week chance of this job being available when you are at your PC. I was thinking the fixed reward might be somewhere in between 150k and 250k WP, devs decide;

#

This is a very detailed explanation of how this would work, so I understand if it's boring to read entirely or it I explaine dit too much in detail…

PROs:

  • Would be an insanely cool very rare job event that would get everyone very excited, and it would give another way of getting a lot of WP.
  • It would use mechanincs (such as speed and altitude requirements and bomb dropping mechanic) that are already being used in flight testing and PTS.

CONs:
The devs will go insane at implementing this in the game anyway because of the too detailed explanation…

Holy larp suggestion

F-16, F-15SE, and F-35A are all airframes that are nuclear capable :P

The nuke concept is unoriginal... I'd prefer is a job with the ASM-135 ASAT, The anti-satellite air-launched missile for the F-15E :P

Doesn't the SeaMaster already have nuke jobs?

It’s still considered as PvP by the way it’s roleplay we, it’s not an exercise like PTS or SINKEX so it’s an offensive warfare, not training

Pve is what happens with the sonkex jobs no? You could argue it's a training, but afterall this is too, because other players cant see the flash (only you see it) and there's no explosion, just a flash, so it can be made as a training afterall

#

You arent dropping a real nuke, as those are limited to staff

It’s still roleplayed as nuke, since it has visual effect, and if it wouldn’t then it’s just reshaped PTS which doesn’t make sense

either you call it training or roleplay

Tbh pts looks as much as a training as this, this just has more steps, to adapt the training to a much more sophisticated form of attack

We have a nuclear weapons test job event

#

It doesnt have you drop nukes ofc

Cocacolastic suggestion

#

might work

#

but removes all "stay below alt" requirement

#

pretty much turns into glorified PTS

#

not that it's as a rule bad thing

proper python
#

isn't sinkex glorified pts as well Dunno

#

actually with a nuclear test we could enforce an altitude floor/specific flight parameters

If you're up to the challenge of outrunning a point-blank nuclear blast then go ahead ig

#

just remember there's a reason nukes usually have parachutes attached to them

Matbe PTS can stay as it is and this can be a separate job yk

#

Also the staying low part is because doing it from 40k ft wouldn't be as challegning and exciting

tbh nuke testing would be a pretty interesting job if we had more extremely barren and empty areas

increase the alt limit but add a radius where your plane crashes if you don't get out fast enough
