#flying train
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)

its that meme news article
not a meme plane, the article became a meme for how stupid it is
flying trains could be coming your way
does that seem stupid?
thats just a cool headline
wtf is wrong with pods xc-120 proved theyre possible
economy of scale

Just stick everything on 1 cargo ship
Instead of spending billions of dollars in fuel to shuttle it a bit faster
whats wrong with that
but not everything can wait to cross the ocean for months
for example a donor heart
or medical supplies (the big ones not the small things)
like
XRAY machine
you dont even need a railway for it

which is part of this plane's idea for like no reason
its just a name
good luck aligning that thing LOL
oh yeah
thats where the "flying train" came from
thought those were extra wheels ngl
@upbeat stump pls do better research
(This mf somehow has scale testbeds)
Akka Link & Fly
Payload: 21000kg
Capacity: 162 passengers
Range: 2200km
Speed: Mach 0.78
Service Ceiling: 39,800 ft
Wingspan: 49 meters
Designers wanted to make a plane that had an existential crisis
Real
uh
Also what’s the point of making a new terminal for a plane/train hybrid when you can just use an STOL for the same thing
Calling it a flying train is stupid
The XC-120 is cool
this
not so much
Agreed
Just you wait for c-119 remodel
Why does it not cost wp
does not work with pressurized aircraft
Scale test bed
Akka Technologies, le concepteur de cet avion-train du futur, a fait voler une maquette au 1/13ème afin de tester l’aérodynamisme ainsi que le comportement des moteurs en vol.

Please make my boy AC-119
it looks like a hobby model
The pinnacle
Video credit is Link & Fly

It’s a cool concept but A: can’t work in aero unless you use advanced customization or a toggle key and B: no blueprints (to my knowledge)
Also why does this vehicle need the support of a train to make it functional, the XC-120 was way better functionality wise than whatever this is
So even if this thing even makes it off the scale model part, they also need to design a whole fucking new train just to make this plane work

I have a genius idea
What if we join the cargo segment to the aircraft, it can reduce the amount of complexity and failure points in the design

Genius, wonder why no one has been doing that for the past idk like 70 years
I agree, this goober is silly enough that I like it but the lack of information is horrendous
in that case I’m doing ❌ twice
Real quick question, can we suggest F-16 variants? I thought I saw somewhere that we couldn’t suggest them
Do not
B-but Gunship
yeah no

Do not
I suggested one and deleted
Do not bug Najimi

Oh yeah I remember that
Honestly I think you are secretly on a blacklist
totally not because of the Hydro 2000

Just find the scale mock-up man

I was given a pass on that
No blueprints is the problem
bc it had multiple sources citing wind tunnel testing
But no blueprints
Make the blueprints then

won’t be accurate

I’d have to hire someone to
(And they will probably still suck ass)

this HAS to be the most cylindrical plane ive ever seen
literally model's beginner friendly
Why? I mean we have the GS ~~(and the princess*** almost*** got into the game)~~Why cant we have other large jet seaplanes, especially a cargo one
And one feasible enough to be pursued by the actual government of France at that*

Whoops
Fr*nce I meant

wait why the actual shit is there a Pan Am plane in the background next to a project from 2018
AND WHY A 707
Exactly, if the fr*nch government wanted to proceed with this aircraft then it must have been relatively complete design-wise
GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
ITS FRENCH
Just pretend it is not Frnch*
This makes me want to suggest a large jet seaplane
Just looking throught the hydro 2000 thread shows how many people hate paper projects, like mate, im sorry that we have to suggest something a little bit more unique and that you cant have your 54049092th 737 variant
france

april fools 2025 vehicle
TRUE
y travel so far for a donor heart
sir would you rather die or travel a long distance?
no, i mean since when were donor organs found a 6 hour ambulance plus air plus rail plus ambulance journey away
given that this presumes there is both good air and rail, i doubt youd find one so far out of reach to actually need this
need this in april fools update
No
scroll up
bro how is this not locked yet
how did my J-36 get locked within 6 hrs
but this goofy ass thing
is still alive
granted it has 44❌
OP admitted the flaws of the suggestion (namely, the lack of blueprints and stats)
Because OP did not post this as some sort of shitty joke by a heavy china glazer
This has everything required (except for blueprints)
^
Ah shit I did not mean to bump this thread I was just replying

for the aircraft and ❌ for the original post
