(Yeah someone wanted this before but not to this depth.)
The crop dusting job is an overlooked and underutilized job type in the game as a whole
and worst of all: Its boring. Even the devs I've poked into doing crop dusting dont like it.
The issues I see are the lack of challenge, and lack of variety, and the lack of any worthwhile mechanics.
As is the "crop dusting gameplay loop" is lobotomy-level-simple. Take off, fly over a field in any direction until out of product, land, repeat.
At gaston, the crop dusting jobs technically come from clarence, and are given full "distance modifiers" for fields right next to the airport!
Crop dusting as a job in real life is an intense and delicate dance done at 150 miles an hour, 5 feet off the ground.
Dodging telephone wires, trees, gravity, stalling, the list goes on.
Gameplay, even if simplified, should reflect this intensity.
Now, to make this work.
At every field possible to crop dust on, (yes, thats a LOT of bloat. I know.)
Waypoints should guide you to a specific field (we have options, you know), which has an array of boxes on it.
These are drop zones for the product.
(Possible visual instead of whole bounding box cubes, fences? fake-walls? giant boxes are kinda ugly.)
As you drop product, the section will turn green.
Notification for "area 1 complete" or so when done.
Note, you can overfill an area, but it does not complete anything else, so watch what you doing.
Multiple passes will be needed, and it should be noted returning to the airport will refill the hopper for more passes IS OK / SHOULD HAVE A NOTICE.
Ideally this will encourage people to do this, however, increased rewards should be accounted for, as rewards are currently very poor.
Any questions I will try my best to answer!
