The Boeing XPBB Sea Ranger or Boeing 344 was a prototype long range flying boat designed by Boeing in the 1940s. The production of these aircraft were canceled when the US requested Boeing to free up factories to produce the B-29 heavy bomber. However despite this decision, the XPBB continued to be used in trials and was even considered a very successful aircraft. The only aircraft was finally retired in 1947.
