Shrugbot Seaplane Suggestion #58
Not to be confused with the Harbin SH-5, The Shavrov SH-5 was a large amphibious flying boat which was designed for aerial mapping and passenger transport.
Originally designed in 1929, The SH-5 features a cockpit mounted on top of the passenger cabin, which provides a great view of the surroundings for both the pilot and those seated underneath. The wheels were able to retract to provide amphibious capabilities, but there are unfortunately no photos of the aircraft with its landing gear stowed away.
Only one prototype was ever built, and it flew for the only time in 1934. By this time it was outdated in terms of technology and was scrapped.
