#Option to individually start up engines

I know theres already been another suggestion about this, but this is another version with other concepts. First off, the E key will not be for Turning all the engines on, but rather activating the Visuals which is where you turn the engines on (See attachment No.1). When activated, you get the ability to individually start up the engines for your aircraft. There will be one toggle for each engine, allowing you to turn on the engines. When starting it up, the toggle dissapears and can't be turned off (See attachment No.2).
This will also apply when the engine is shutting off. When done, just press E again and the Visuals will dissappears. (This will obivously not affect aircraft with 1 engine.)
Activating not every single of your engines will increase your range, but will also decrease thrust and top speed.

Note:
I tried to keep this as feasible as possible, while also trying to make a somewhat alright solution for this. The quality is relatively bad because i used the Samsung gallery to make this.

realism my beloved

I’d imagine a system like this:- press E to turn on both engines in 1 go, and press Ctrl E and Ctrl Shift E to turn on the left and right engines respectively

But what if you have more than 2 engines

Quadjets

Quinjets

Uh

#

Hydrajets...?

I think you get what i mean

Ctrl + E can open up some sort of engine start up menu, and then from there you can press number keys like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 to start up each engine

#

or just start them all up with E

livid spear
#

That's actually a good idea

#

Time to copy it and suggest it as if it were mine trolley

marble jewel
#

also an engine status system would be cool

#

since cockpit FOV isn’t really all too realistic

#

and you have to keep on changing camera modes

#

which sucks

True

#

bunch of stuff can be added to make flying more interesting

#

digital flaps, digital spoilers, stuff like that

They sadly won't wdd things like that though

like a UI just for these realistic stuff

#

light panel, start up panel

#

etc etc

#

if theres like a on off switch on top of those engines it won't look that good

#

thats my opinion ofc

#

I've already considered this, however:

  • How big would the panel need to be
  • how would the diffrent engines be distinguishable from eachother
    And
  • How would it work

and this feature would be very good for prop planes

You just hold a key, a ~50% transparent (transparency adjustable) panel pops up & you cam control everything from there

#

You can even hold that key, press Esc to open Roblox menu or / to enter Chat, the click the game back & the panel stays there until you press that key again

#

Same way as how I apply 'Parking' Brake

#

I'm back in Flightline & forgot the UI evolved beyond that. Now you don't need to hold a key to pop up the menu (in my case, since the key is rebindable I set it to Spacebar; i forgor the original keybind); you can just press the 3 arrows on the top to bring the menu

#

There's a checkbox that shows you which menu you want; be it your aircraft info, navigation info, comms info (which aren't implemented as of now); Autopilot agony, Engine Controls & Lighting.

#

Tho you still need to hold the menu key to pop up the Throttle, Flaps & Spoilers menu.
Even then there's an "Arm" option for spoilers which automatically opens up during touchdown. An Autobrake cpild also utilize the same thing, and plans with Virtual Cockpit already plays runway rollout sound on the ground so these and wheel smoke could use the same mechanism.

#

And hovering over the checkbox reveals which menu that checkbox will bring you to. Could be implemented as either browser tab-style with text permanently there, or icons that you can hover over them & it reveals whcih menu does that belong to.

#

Speaking of which this is how Flightline's settings menu looks like. And those are literally all the keyboard-available controls you can rebind.

#

IMO Aero has a lot of things they can learn from Flightline

#

All it needs is just a dev who's willing to do that ||(which virtually 100% of them will say no & defend their decision to say no anyway OldShrug)||

#

Oh btw a nice detail

#

You hover a mouse over something in the settings & the adjacent details will turn into a gradient

#

(Ofc cursor isnt visible in Roblox screenshots)

little remnant

And after all have started the e click would shut it down

Idk how the engine on the Do X works tho

#

||(wait is the Do X ingame? I almost never looked it up on the Vehicle Database)||

#

But either way make it like Flightline as I showed earlier. Wach engine has its own switch so you can do Single Engine Taxi if you want (which could actually save on fuel ingame)

#

Or even do two-engine or single-engine flying on the Orion in any upcoming endurance race
