#If carriers are to be added, add some way for them to interact with other players

I don't know if carriers will be added to the game at all, but if they are planned, then perhaps they should be able to refuel carrier-capable aircraft if those pilots land on your carrier? If so, then I propose that a job type be created specifically for carriers, where they can sail to a remote location in the ocean, and they get paid a certain amount of WP based on the amount of fuel that an aircraft takes on, given that the aircraft is currently taking a job and isn't just roaming around in free flight. This limitation is in place to prevent abuse, obviously.

Oh, and to reiterate, the payout is based on how much fuel you give out to those aircraft. A E/A 18G taking on a full tank in the middle of a surveillance mission would pay more than an E-2 picking up 5% fuel on the way to their destination.

Different aircraft carrier classes can be further differentiated if the total amount of fuel that you can give to other aircraft is limited; an escort carrier may only be able to refuel 2-5 aircraft before running out of (aviation) fuel and needing to head to port to resupply, while fleet carriers and supercarriers can refuel 10-20 aircraft before needing to replenish. This could also open up underway replenishment missions for military supply vessels and cargo aircraft, where a carrier can request a resupply and players can accept a special transport job where they would need to take their carrier-capable transports from a nearby airfield to the player in the carrier.

Obviously this is a shitload of suggestions that is quite possibly in violation of rule 3a, but eh, I'm just spitballing here. I know that carriers in Neo can refuel aircraft that land on them, and it would be a shame if the only boats we see in game are ULCC's AFKing for 10 hours at a time.

Aircraft carriers are planned, several already known to be ready for release, however functionality with player aircraft is basically dead in the water due to physics issues

#

Any AI stuff would take a while if they do release without jobs first

I mean, couldn't we just steal whatever system neo uses with their carriers? You wouldn't be able to taxi around, but you would be able to teleport to different places

Anchoring as been spouted as an idea for carriers

To have the carrier be optionally collidable while not moving.

somber wyvern
#

^ Yeah, anchoring has been suggested for boats in general before

#

When or how it's implemented, hard to say

soft mica
#

Because frankly? Moving boats with collissions are NOT happening. At best only anchoring

stationary carriers would probably be better for gameplay as well, landing on a moving carrier is something that I think is best left for DCS

so 10 hr AFK ULCC's is the future of boats after all then

I mean, the anchoring system Etina brought up could bring some life to ships whenever its added, but with how limited the team is on coders that's a long way away

Team is better off than it was a year ago, when new features were nonexistent. But still low priority

I mean, new features with bugs v.s. no new features?

#

at least you would be convincing old players that the game is still worth playing

#

halo infinite decided to go with the "we're not gonna release a half baked pie" and ended up dying as a result

#

but yeah I'm just spitballing

#

not really expecting anything to come out of this

The "Neo system" has several critical flaws including but not limited to:

Ship randomly decides to roll to left/right after extended usage
Catapult launch causes aircraft to noclip through the deck and partially into the hangar where they get stuck
Occasionally aircraft simply phase through the entire ship on final approach

These bugs have existed for very likely more than a whole year now

#

Oh and let's not forget that for multiple years, aircraft would randomly send themselves into the exosphere just by spawning onto the carrier deck

#

The only 2 carriers that were physics-model-stable enough for sustained operations were the Forrestal and Custom

Look at other AAA games.

#

Heck, look at Cities Skylines 2 & Kerbal Space Program 2 and see what's returning players' reaction when they were given a half-baked bullcrap.

#

If you're telling me "New buggy feaures are good let me have them" then I'm sure you got Cities 2 & were paid by Paradox Interactive to spread propaganda.
